- 0:53Speaker 5: was that was tough.
- 0:53Speaker 6: But we got love for y'all, man turned fa they
- 0:56Speaker 6: really think I hate you. I don't hate y'all. I
- 0:58Speaker 6: got love for you. Okay, It's all good.
- 1:01Speaker 4: Okay, pop okay.
- 1:04Speaker 5: Anyway, the seew's coming off a big win against the
- 1:06Speaker 5: Patriots on the road. Two and zero on the season.
- 1:08Speaker 5: We're getting ready for the Miami Dolphins coming into town.
- 1:11Speaker 5: What's on tap?
- 1:16Speaker 1: What's on tap?
- 1:18Speaker 3: Bump?
- 1:18Speaker 5: These Miami Dolphins are one and one, tied for second
- 1:21Speaker 5: place in the AFC East. They won their opening game
- 1:23Speaker 5: sixteen to ten over the Jacksonville Jaguars lost thirty one
- 1:26Speaker 5: to ten to the Buffalo Bills last week. And head
- 1:30Speaker 5: coach Mike McDaniel, in his third year's Dolphins head coach,
- 1:33Speaker 5: definitely known as an offensive guru for the time he
- 1:35Speaker 5: spent with Sean McVay and the Shanahan Tree, been credited
- 1:38Speaker 5: for getting the Dolphins kind of back to the promised
- 1:40Speaker 5: Land in the sense of back to relevance, I should say,
- 1:42Speaker 5: not promised land each his first two seasons, taking them
- 1:45Speaker 5: to the playoffs and getting the best out of quarterback
- 1:47Speaker 5: to a Tongua Bai Looa. Expectations coming in this year
- 1:50Speaker 5: were pretty big bump obviously, as we know that took
- 1:52Speaker 5: a huge hit when Tua got the concussion in their
- 1:55Speaker 5: game against Buffalo on last Thursday night.
- 1:57Speaker 6: Man, I was tough too, was at number four in
- 1:59Speaker 6: the last what two seasons or something like that. You
- 2:02Speaker 6: hate to see it, man, but you know, playing this game,
- 2:03Speaker 6: that's part of it, right. I've had concussions. I've been
- 2:06Speaker 6: three that's been like documented, but I probably had like
- 2:09Speaker 6: five or six. Is Back in our day it was like, oh,
- 2:11Speaker 6: you got your bell rung, get back up, get back
- 2:12Speaker 6: in there. But you have to take these seriously, man.
- 2:15Speaker 6: So now we're just waiting to see what his future is.
- 2:17Speaker 6: He says he's not retiring. He has to talk to
- 2:20Speaker 6: his people. I don't know if he's married or not,
- 2:22Speaker 6: but I'm sure his mom and dad is loved ones.
- 2:24Speaker 6: I just hope that man is okay. But it does
- 2:27Speaker 6: give us an advantage that he's not playing this week.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:29Speaker 5: No, it's a really hard thing to see. You never
- 2:30Speaker 5: want to see anyone deal with concussions anything like that.
- 2:33Speaker 5: So Mac McDaniel talked about it in me this week.
- 2:35Speaker 5: He's gonna let Tua talk for Tua and support him,
- 2:37Speaker 5: and I feel like they're handling it the right way.
- 2:39Speaker 5: It's tough to see. But in that game, it was
- 2:42Speaker 5: before the two injury, it wasn't a close game.
- 2:43Speaker 4: Bump.
- 2:44Speaker 5: So taking me back to last Thursday as the Bills
- 2:46Speaker 5: taking on the Dolphins, and I didn't know how lopsided
- 2:48Speaker 5: this rivalry was because their division rivals. But the Bills
- 2:52Speaker 5: were eleven and one. Goodness, twelve going into a lasts
- 2:56Speaker 5: two good the last two or three years. Man, you
- 2:57Speaker 5: would think so, and that includes a playoff Losston there too.
- 3:00Speaker 5: But it just wasn't great. Man. It started off you
- 3:02Speaker 5: you know, interception early on Dolphins with answer with one
- 3:06Speaker 5: long touchdown to tie the game. But after that turnovers
- 3:08Speaker 5: story of the game, Bill said no turnovers, Dolphins had
- 3:10Speaker 5: three turnovers. Didn't matter. You know, Dolphins actually dominate time possession,
- 3:14Speaker 5: but it didn't matter. Josh Allen Oka Day thirteen of
- 3:18Speaker 5: nineteen hundred three nine yards, one touchdown. But again I
- 3:20Speaker 5: told you it was about turnovers.
- 3:22Speaker 3: Ye.
- 3:22Speaker 5: Devon a Chen who were going to talk about later,
- 3:24Speaker 5: was the lone bright spot in that game with one
- 3:26Speaker 5: hundred and sixty five total yards ninety six rushing, sixty
- 3:29Speaker 5: nine receiving, and Chue was having a tough day before
- 3:32Speaker 5: the injury, he was seventeen to twenty five one hundred
- 3:34Speaker 5: and forty five yards, one touchdown but three interceptions, and
- 3:38Speaker 5: you know, things went bad to worse as Tua got hit,
- 3:41Speaker 5: couldn't colliding with Damar Hamlin again. It was tough to
- 3:44Speaker 5: see him go down like that. Time time goal for
- 3:46Speaker 5: his return is unknown. He is on ir so that's
- 3:49Speaker 5: kind of how it ended up. But the thing for
- 3:51Speaker 5: the Dolphins, they're well rested. They played on a Thursday night.
- 3:53Speaker 5: Now they're coming across the country to Seattle. Definitely easier
- 3:57Speaker 5: for teams on the East coast coming back out west
- 3:58Speaker 5: in my opinion, So they're getting some time back. But
- 4:01Speaker 5: imp looking at these two teams, Seahawks obviously undefeated, Dolphins
- 4:04Speaker 5: have won lost. You what are your takeaways from the
- 4:06Speaker 5: head to head As we know, it's only been two weeks.
- 4:07Speaker 3: All right.
- 4:08Speaker 6: We got two weeks of data, though last time it
- 4:10Speaker 6: was one week of data. Before that it was just speculation.
- 4:12Speaker 6: I don't know, let's see what's going down. Now we
- 4:14Speaker 6: got some ideas of what's going on now. The Dolphins
- 4:17Speaker 6: are eighth overall when it comes to offense. We expect
- 4:20Speaker 6: some of these numbers to take a hit because two
- 4:21Speaker 6: is not in the game right, twentieth when it comes
- 4:23Speaker 6: to rushing first and past offense, and then fifteenth when
- 4:26Speaker 6: it comes to scoring points.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Let's look over to the Hawks. They are thirteenth overall.
- 4:30Speaker 6: They are twenty third running the rock, sixth passing that
- 4:32Speaker 6: thing in ninth when it comes to points. Defensively, on paper,
- 4:36Speaker 6: you got two pretty good defenses going at it. The
- 4:38Speaker 6: Hawks sixth overall, the Dolphins fourth. When it comes to
- 4:41Speaker 6: stop in the run, the Hawks are twenty first. Big
- 4:44Speaker 6: hit last week one hundred and eighty five on the ground,
- 4:45Speaker 6: so that number, you know, take it for what it's worth.
- 4:47Speaker 6: And then the Dolphins are fifteenth, allowing one to eighteen
- 4:51Speaker 6: pass defense.
- 4:52Speaker 3: Let's go, let's go. Come on now.
- 4:54Speaker 6: Hawks are second in the league allowing one hundred and
- 4:56Speaker 6: twenty eight through the air, and then the Dolphins are fifth,
- 4:58Speaker 6: allowing one thirty nine scoring points. The Hawks are putting
- 5:01Speaker 6: up twenty a game, that's twelve, and the Dolphins putting
- 5:04Speaker 6: up twenty four game that is twenty third. Two interceptions
- 5:09Speaker 6: taken away by the Seahawks. The Dolphins don't have any yet.
- 5:12Speaker 6: You got Jalen Ramsey in a good secondary over there.
- 5:15Speaker 6: Let's hope they don't get started this week. But on paper, again,
- 5:19Speaker 6: another evenly matched team. When you dive a little deeper,
- 5:22Speaker 6: you know two is not going to be in the game.
- 5:23Speaker 6: Waiting to see who's going to be healthy on that
- 5:25Speaker 6: offensive line for the Hawks and in the backfield as well.
- 5:28Speaker 6: We'll know about ninety minutes before the game. We'll get
- 5:30Speaker 6: that from Jim Muller. She'll let us know. But on paper,
- 5:33Speaker 6: let's get it. But this is the NFL. On paper,
- 5:35Speaker 6: it might not look like a close game, but it
- 5:37Speaker 6: could be. But this one looks like it's going to
- 5:39Speaker 6: be a close game, and I anticipated being closer than
- 5:41Speaker 6: what people think just because of Skylar Thompson filling in
- 5:44Speaker 6: for Tua.
- 5:45Speaker 5: Yeah, we're going to get into all the matchups and
- 5:46Speaker 5: man up because the Dolphins have a lot of talented
- 5:49Speaker 5: players on that offense and that defense. So some of
- 5:51Speaker 5: these numbers might equate. The entire story you talked about
- 5:54Speaker 5: a Seahawks run defense really took a hit. They fall
- 5:56Speaker 5: the twenty first. Anytime you give up on hundred and
- 5:58Speaker 5: eighty five yards rushing, that's going to happen. So definitely
- 6:00Speaker 5: looking for the Seahawks to improve on that. But yeah,
- 6:03Speaker 5: second in pass defense, what are the kids doing now?
- 6:05Speaker 3: I'm on now here the box.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Yea.
- 6:08Speaker 6: I saw one kid pull up his shirt like he
- 6:11Speaker 6: had the stra from Memphis, and I go, that might
- 6:14Speaker 6: be a flag get check a little too much.
- 6:17Speaker 3: Easy, But the first one he got away with it.
- 6:19Speaker 3: That was the first one.
- 6:20Speaker 4: Easy.
- 6:20Speaker 5: Okay, all right, let's get into this history between the
- 6:23Speaker 5: Seahawks and the Dolphins.
- 6:24Speaker 4: Know the history, no your history.
- 6:27Speaker 5: Dolphins lead all time series ten to six. They're five
- 6:30Speaker 5: and eight in the regular season and one to two
- 6:32Speaker 5: in the postseason. However, the Hawks have won the last
- 6:34Speaker 5: two regular seed in games. The last matchup they had
- 6:38Speaker 5: was again during the infamous COVID season back in twenty twenty.
- 6:41Speaker 5: That's the last time the Seahawks played the AFC East.
- 6:43Speaker 5: That's what we're going to see this four times this season.
- 6:46Speaker 5: Hawks went down to Miami and it was good at
- 6:47Speaker 5: result for the Hawks thirty one to twenty three victory.
- 6:50Speaker 5: Russell Wilson had a big day, going thirty twenty four
- 6:53Speaker 5: for thirty four three hundred and sixty yards, two touchdowns,
- 6:56Speaker 5: win interception. DK Metcalf led all receivers with four receptions,
- 7:00Speaker 5: one hundred and six yards and Chris Carson man I
- 7:02Speaker 5: miss Chris Shawn Danny ground eighty yards two touchdowns. Hawks
- 7:06Speaker 5: led the entire way and had back to back touchdowns
- 7:09Speaker 5: in the fourth quarter, led by Demo Swag David Moore
- 7:12Speaker 5: Let's go Demo Chris Carson Bobby Wags led all defenders
- 7:15Speaker 5: with twelve tackles. And on the other side, Ryan Fitzpatrick
- 7:18Speaker 5: was starting for the Dolphins. He went twenty nine to
- 7:21Speaker 5: forty five three fifteen, zero touchdowns, And I have a
- 7:23Speaker 5: typo on here it says thirty two interceptions.
- 7:25Speaker 3: That'd be amazing.
- 7:26Speaker 4: I believe it was two.
- 7:28Speaker 6: That one our guy Ryan Neil Big Ryan. That's when
- 7:31Speaker 6: he got to start, right Jamal went down. I believe
- 7:34Speaker 6: then he got to start.
- 7:35Speaker 4: Yep.
- 7:35Speaker 5: It was right after that Cowboys game. Yeah, yeah, that's
- 7:37Speaker 5: good memory, good chick bump.
- 7:39Speaker 3: You know CTE. It fades away sometimes.
- 7:42Speaker 5: Hey, you'll be all right. But let's check in what's
- 7:45Speaker 5: going on in the NFC West. What's the word the
- 7:52Speaker 5: Seahawks with the NFC West champs again.
- 7:55Speaker 4: What's the word in the West? On Hawk talk?
- 7:59Speaker 6: Hey, I'm the captain now sets on top. That's what
- 8:03Speaker 6: they're saying to everybody else into division. Man, they're two
- 8:06Speaker 6: and zero, Cardinals are one and one, forty nine Er
- 8:09Speaker 6: is one to one, and the Rams are surprising oz
- 8:11Speaker 6: and to two.
- 8:11Speaker 3: Man, they're getting hit with injuries left and right.
- 8:13Speaker 6: They the Seahawks head until week three sitting all along,
- 8:16Speaker 6: like I said, in first place in the West.
- 8:18Speaker 3: And it's only been two weeks.
- 8:20Speaker 6: But it's glad that these guys are taking advantage of
- 8:22Speaker 6: a situation that's going down in the West. So let's
- 8:26Speaker 6: focus on one game, the Rams and the Cardinals. Once again,
- 8:29Speaker 6: the Cardinals played in one of the more surprising games
- 8:32Speaker 6: of the weekend. I wasn't ready for this, man, the Cardinals,
- 8:35Speaker 6: they might be a problem this year. Man, they're looking
- 8:37Speaker 6: pretty good. They beat the Rams forty one to ten,
- 8:41Speaker 6: snapped a nine game losing streak to the Rams at
- 8:43Speaker 6: State Farm Stadium. I'm watching this game. I'm not watching.
- 8:48Speaker 6: I'm keeping track of it because we're working on Sundays.
- 8:51Speaker 6: And I see the score go up, and it keeps
- 8:54Speaker 6: going up, and he keeps going up, and then I
- 8:55Speaker 6: see the numbers from the young man, Marvin Harrison. First quarter.
- 8:59Speaker 6: He did all in the first quarter. Yeah, a buck
- 9:01Speaker 6: thirty and a touchdown or two in the first quarter.
- 9:04Speaker 6: And it scared me a little bit because it feels
- 9:07Speaker 6: like there's a shift.
- 9:08Speaker 3: Going on in the division. Now. I think the forty
- 9:10Speaker 3: nineer are going to be okay. I think the Rams
- 9:12Speaker 3: have been hit with a whole bunch of injuries.
- 9:13Speaker 6: But the team that people expected are counted on finishing
- 9:17Speaker 6: fourth in the division are saying, look, man, look we
- 9:20Speaker 6: look a bit more different now, man. James Carnor had
- 9:23Speaker 6: himself a big day. He had twenty one carries for
- 9:25Speaker 6: one two and a touchdown. Matthew Stafford it was an
- 9:30Speaker 6: alright day. Right, didn't produce any touchdowns, but it was
- 9:32Speaker 6: nineteen to twenty seven for two sixteen zero touchdowns. He
- 9:35Speaker 6: was sacked five times. Now we know pookin the coops
- 9:38Speaker 6: out of this thing. Right, situations worse. The one time
- 9:41Speaker 6: I looked up and watched a play in that game,
- 9:43Speaker 6: it was Cooper Cup catching this like thirty plus yard reception,
- 9:46Speaker 6: getting busy afterwards. Then I watched him go to the
- 9:49Speaker 6: huddle in his face. I go, something ain't right, something
- 9:52Speaker 6: ain't right. And something wasn't right man. He had an
- 9:54Speaker 6: ankle injury and did not return the Cardinals. They look
- 9:58Speaker 6: potent on offense, decent on defense. We know the rounds
- 10:01Speaker 6: were banged up, but a forty one to ten win,
- 10:03Speaker 6: you can't sleep on.
- 10:04Speaker 5: No, you're put up forty one points. And we knew
- 10:07Speaker 5: how talented Calamary is. We always have none. Now just
- 10:09Speaker 5: seeing what they get the best out of them. I
- 10:11Speaker 5: know there's a lot of jokes made around Jonathan Ganna
- 10:13Speaker 5: and their coach.
- 10:13Speaker 4: Last year. He stepped into a difficult situation.
- 10:15Speaker 5: Right kind of clean up what happened during the Kingsbury
- 10:18Speaker 5: era and right now they got talent. And you add
- 10:20Speaker 5: Marvin Harrison, that's scary. He's gonna be a problem moving forward.
- 10:23Speaker 5: So it's something to watch.
- 10:24Speaker 3: They got a number two over there too. Michael Wilson Man.
- 10:27Speaker 5: Yeah, man, yeah, they they they are good. All right,
- 10:30Speaker 5: let's get into the next matchup the Seahawks. More good
- 10:32Speaker 5: news for them. The forty nine ers go down to
- 10:34Speaker 5: Minnesota and take in l Now, you're a guy on
- 10:38Speaker 5: if you listen to the Bama Stacey, Sam.
- 10:39Speaker 6: Darn I've been trying to I've been trying to tell y'all,
- 10:42Speaker 6: Sam Darnold, give this man some talent.
- 10:44Speaker 5: Man, come on, hey, I mean look, the first week
- 10:47Speaker 5: when they beat the Giants, are thinking, Okay, we cool.
- 10:50Speaker 5: It's cool, yeah, But to beat the forty nine ers,
- 10:52Speaker 5: that's saying something your old team. And if you look
- 10:54Speaker 5: at the box score, you think the forty nine ers
- 10:56Speaker 5: won this game because they started looking through it. I'm like, okay,
- 10:57Speaker 5: they had more first down twenty four to seventeen, one
- 11:00Speaker 5: time possession by like ten full minutes. Rock Party had
- 11:03Speaker 5: a solidate statistically twenty eight to thirty six three nineteen
- 11:05Speaker 5: one tod what interception Jordan Mason, who's filling in really well? Yeah,
- 11:11Speaker 5: come on, one hundred yards, twenty carries, one touchdown, Deebo Samuel,
- 11:14Speaker 5: eight receptions one ten. You start see those numbers and
- 11:17Speaker 5: you go, okay, they probably won this game. But forty
- 11:20Speaker 5: nine Ers shopped themselves in the foot over and over
- 11:22Speaker 5: and over again. They had a block punt which led
- 11:25Speaker 5: to three points. Then they got stopped on fourth and
- 11:27Speaker 5: goal from the two yard line after an eighty eight
- 11:29Speaker 5: yard drive. Then Rock Party threw a pick on his
- 11:31Speaker 5: own thirteen yard line, Viking score the next play, and
- 11:34Speaker 5: then finally down nine with on one to fifty seven
- 11:37Speaker 5: left in the game. Okay, maybe get a touchdown to
- 11:38Speaker 5: get outsie kick kick a field goal, try Brock trust
- 11:41Speaker 5: hit Deebo Samuel, will dump off. It almost gets picked off.
- 11:44Speaker 5: He gets hit for a nine yard loss. They kicked
- 11:46Speaker 5: a field goal, they end up k not getting the
- 11:48Speaker 5: outside kick, and they lose the game. On the other side,
- 11:51Speaker 5: justin Jefferson, look cool, little ninety seven yard touchdown, easy work.
- 11:55Speaker 5: Did you see the ref on that play?
- 11:57Speaker 6: Burn Not only did the ref keep with him, he's starting,
- 12:01Speaker 6: stopped and accelerated to stay with him.
- 12:03Speaker 3: We need to sign it. We need this rest name,
- 12:05Speaker 3: give him some information.
- 12:06Speaker 5: I need to look it up. Moving his hips and stuff.
- 12:08Speaker 5: It was textbook bro shout out to that man right there.
- 12:11Speaker 5: But uh for for Darnold, he was seventeen to twenty six,
- 12:13Speaker 5: two sixty eight, two touchdowns, one interception, and just like
- 12:17Speaker 5: the Rams Niners getting hit with the injury bug as well.
- 12:19Speaker 4: It's make matters worse.
- 12:19Speaker 5: Forty nine ers canna be about Deebo Samuel for the
- 12:21Speaker 5: next couple of weeks, as he suffered a calf strain
- 12:23Speaker 5: in the final minutes of that game. McCaffrey's already on
- 12:26Speaker 5: the IR so the divisions a little banged up bump
- 12:31Speaker 5: forty nine ers are coming to see going to LA
- 12:33Speaker 5: I should say this weekend. So either the Rams are
- 12:36Speaker 5: going to be owing three yeah, or the Niners gonna be.
- 12:38Speaker 3: One in two. I think the Rams are gonna be
- 12:39Speaker 3: on three.
- 12:40Speaker 4: I also think, I really do.
- 12:42Speaker 6: It's probably better if the Niners were to lose this one,
- 12:44Speaker 6: probably yeah, yeah, But I think the Rams will be
- 12:46Speaker 6: all on three either way.
- 12:47Speaker 5: The Seahawks, if they take care of business, will be
- 12:49Speaker 5: three and zero again, all alone in the NFC West.
- 12:52Speaker 5: So definitely looking up. But the team of Seahawks are
- 12:54Speaker 5: playing is the Miami Dolphins. Let's getting these specific matchups
- 12:58Speaker 5: with man.
- 12:58Speaker 7: Up, Man up on Hawk Talk.
- 13:09Speaker 6: All right, man, we opened up the podcast talking about
- 13:12Speaker 6: this man.
- 13:13Speaker 3: The big story is Tool going down.
- 13:14Speaker 6: Man Mike McDonald said, look, l oh man, my bad,
- 13:19Speaker 6: My bad McDonald. Mike McDaniel said, on Monday, Tool was
- 13:23Speaker 6: in the building. He was spawning with his teammates. But
- 13:25Speaker 6: it's too early to make a statement regarding the time
- 13:28Speaker 6: table when he's going to be back. He's been placed
- 13:31Speaker 6: on an IR so we shall see. Just get better.
- 13:34Speaker 6: That's the focus. With to forget who he plays for,
- 13:37Speaker 6: what school he went to. He's a human being. And
- 13:40Speaker 6: let's hope that that he gets better soon.
- 13:42Speaker 3: Man.
- 13:43Speaker 6: So with that being said, you had to turn to
- 13:45Speaker 6: the young man Skylar Thompson. And this is his third
- 13:47Speaker 6: season in the NFL. He was a seventh round pick
- 13:50Speaker 6: out of Kansas State, number two forty seven overall his
- 13:53Speaker 6: college stats.
- 13:54Speaker 3: Man, he was doing his thing.
- 13:56Speaker 6: Five point fifty two for eight eighty five seven thirty
- 14:00Speaker 6: four yards, forty two touchdowns, sixteen interceptions.
- 14:03Speaker 3: This is stet that surprised me. I didn't know he
- 14:04Speaker 3: was getting busy like this.
- 14:05Speaker 6: Yeah, three hundred and fifty five carries for over one
- 14:07Speaker 6: thousand yards and twenty six touchdowns. He has three starts
- 14:11Speaker 6: in the NFL, including a playoff game against the Bills
- 14:14Speaker 6: in the wildcard round of the twenty twenty two playoffs.
- 14:17Speaker 6: All right, his stats and three career starts in twenty
- 14:19Speaker 6: twenty two. Right, he goes seven for thirteen eighty nine yards,
- 14:22Speaker 6: no touchdowns, no interceptions.
- 14:23Speaker 3: I was against Minnesota, that was a loss.
- 14:25Speaker 6: A win against the Jets twenty of thirty one for
- 14:27Speaker 6: one to fifty two, no touchdown, no interceptions.
- 14:30Speaker 3: A loss to Buffalo eighteen to forty five.
- 14:32Speaker 6: They forced him throw it twenty twenty yards, one touchdown,
- 14:36Speaker 6: two interceptions. I mean, look, three starts in the league,
- 14:40Speaker 6: not much to go off of. Right, He's a seventh
- 14:42Speaker 6: round pick. I know everyone's looking for a rock party.
- 14:46Speaker 6: You can't expect much out of him, but you can't
- 14:48Speaker 6: allow him to get confident and get into a group.
- 14:50Speaker 6: He does have weapons, and we're gonna talk about these weapons.
- 14:52Speaker 6: He got weapons on the outside, he's got weapons in
- 14:55Speaker 6: the backfield. It's all about just making life difficult for
- 14:58Speaker 6: this guy. Man, get after him, show him different looks,
- 15:01Speaker 6: mix up your stunts, mess with your coverage. He has
- 15:04Speaker 6: to use all his information as a quarterback to defeat You.
- 15:07Speaker 6: Don't sleep on nobody because we know what it's like
- 15:09Speaker 6: for backups at littlemin Field for some reason.
- 15:11Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm hoping that's over now.
- 15:12Speaker 3: Yeah, please, I'm hoping.
- 15:13Speaker 5: With coach McDonald coming in and shutting it down with
- 15:15Speaker 5: this defense. But no, don't sleep on on Skylar because
- 15:18Speaker 5: of the weapons he has, and everything we've heard out
- 15:20Speaker 5: of Dolphins camp is that he earned a lot of
- 15:22Speaker 5: respect from that staff. He went out there and won
- 15:24Speaker 5: the number two job this year because he was he
- 15:27Speaker 5: was the number three in that twenty twenty two season
- 15:29Speaker 5: and got flushed in the duty. But now he's kind
- 15:32Speaker 5: of earned it in that sense of coach McGain and
- 15:35Speaker 5: all of them. So we'll see. But to your point,
- 15:37Speaker 5: it's not not someone you hope that's going off against Sea,
- 15:40Speaker 5: someone that you got to make look like someone who's
- 15:41Speaker 5: only started three games. Now, So what over our quarterback?
- 15:45Speaker 5: You know Smith and boy bump that he ball out
- 15:47Speaker 5: last week? Come on, g you know three thirty three
- 15:50Speaker 5: for forty four three and twenty seven yards, one touchdown,
- 15:53Speaker 5: completed seventy five percent of his passes even though Seattle
- 15:56Speaker 5: had five drops.
- 15:57Speaker 3: He would have been aroundety five percent. Yes, insane.
- 16:01Speaker 5: And he also had thirty three completions, which was a
- 16:03Speaker 5: career high for Gino passed Rick Meyer on fifth place
- 16:06Speaker 5: with all time passing completion list with a forty two.
- 16:08Speaker 5: Also passed me rick Meyer for fifth place on Seattle's
- 16:11Speaker 5: all time passing yards list with nine and thirty nine.
- 16:15Speaker 5: Leads the NFL and game winning drive since twenty twenty two,
- 16:18Speaker 5: naturally nine. So he's I mean, Geno through two weeks
- 16:21Speaker 5: is balling out, I mean passing yards in the NFL.
- 16:23Speaker 5: He ranked six completion percentage. She ranks fourth QBR fourth,
- 16:27Speaker 5: QB rating seventh and that's just through two weeks. I know,
- 16:30Speaker 5: but I mean his performance got nominated. He didn't win
- 16:33Speaker 5: for FedEx Air Ground Player of the Week. But I'm
- 16:36Speaker 5: just seeing a lot of good stuff out of Gino,
- 16:37Speaker 5: and like he just seems like he's so confident. We
- 16:40Speaker 5: kind of saw this beginning of twenty twenty two. But
- 16:42Speaker 5: if he has time, he's gonna.
- 16:43Speaker 4: Find the guy.
- 16:44Speaker 5: I mean, he was throwing dots all over the field
- 16:46Speaker 5: whoever he's finding, So I just hit some made my
- 16:53Speaker 5: ears go quiet for a second. I was like, what
- 16:55Speaker 5: just happened. No, Gino's been crushing the game and I'm
- 16:58Speaker 5: really happy to see it. I think Ryan Grubb deserve
- 17:00Speaker 5: some credit for the offense, but Gino's been around the
- 17:03Speaker 5: game and he's executing right. You can only do so much.
- 17:05Speaker 5: Ryan Grub's not throwing the ball, he's not in the huddle.
- 17:08Speaker 5: But both of them together this can be a dangerous
- 17:11Speaker 5: combo for the rest of the NFC.
- 17:13Speaker 6: What I love about this combo is that Grub is
- 17:15Speaker 6: given Geno time. Like they're breaking the huddle with like
- 17:18Speaker 6: fifteen seconds left on the playclock. They're getting to the
- 17:20Speaker 6: line of scrimmage. You're allowing your emotions to happen. Gino's
- 17:23Speaker 6: looking at the defense like he was already on point
- 17:26Speaker 6: last year and it seemed like every play was rushed.
- 17:28Speaker 3: This year, he's got ample time. Grub's on point.
- 17:31Speaker 6: He's on point, and he's looking like the pro bowler
- 17:34Speaker 6: we saw a couple seasons ago.
- 17:35Speaker 3: So keep up the good work, Gino.
- 17:38Speaker 6: I just talk about another match of a guy Rashem
- 17:41Speaker 6: Mostered and Devonte a Chen against the Seahawks front seven.
- 17:45Speaker 3: This is gonna be a good one, man.
- 17:47Speaker 6: The Dolphins have got two talented running backs in the
- 17:48Speaker 6: backfield the guys that just mentioned a. Seahawks fans should
- 17:51Speaker 6: be pretty familiar with Moster. He spent six seasons with
- 17:54Speaker 6: the forty nine ers and what's bawling, he's been in
- 17:56Speaker 6: the league like nineteen years now, ye nine, ten, yeah,
- 17:59Speaker 6: yea doing his thing man, and he's been good under
- 18:02Speaker 6: Mike mcdonneld at Miami too. In twenty twenty three, he
- 18:05Speaker 6: had one thousand yards, eighteen touchdowns, twenty five receptions for
- 18:08Speaker 6: one seventy five and three touchdowns and earned him his
- 18:12Speaker 6: first Pro Bowl now, so good for him.
- 18:14Speaker 3: The other running back a chan he was a third round.
- 18:16Speaker 6: Pick out of Texas A and M, and he was
- 18:19Speaker 6: a he's part of at one two punch. Last year,
- 18:22Speaker 6: he had eight hundred yards, eight touchdowns, twenty seven receptions
- 18:25Speaker 6: for one ninety seven and three touchdowns. He's he's been
- 18:30Speaker 6: pushing to a bigger role this year, right, And I
- 18:33Speaker 6: think I look at that backfield and that's what the
- 18:36Speaker 6: NFL is going to be. It used to be just
- 18:38Speaker 6: you got one one horse that you ran every single
- 18:41Speaker 6: down and maybe sprinkled in another back This is what
- 18:44Speaker 6: the NFL is now. You got a legit one two combo.
- 18:47Speaker 6: The Hawks got one here when they're healthy, and Ken
- 18:49Speaker 6: Walker and Zach Charbonay. You look all across the league,
- 18:52Speaker 6: this is what you're getting. So you know, a Chan
- 18:56Speaker 6: had a few bright spots against Buffalo last week.
- 18:58Speaker 3: He combined for one hundred and sixty five.
- 19:00Speaker 6: This is with Moster being out ninety six rushing, sixty
- 19:03Speaker 6: nine receiving in one touchdown. So we're waiting to see
- 19:06Speaker 6: what Moster is going to look like on Sunday, if
- 19:07Speaker 6: he's going to be available. If he is available, I
- 19:10Speaker 6: know this offensive line and Mike McDaniel are looking at
- 19:13Speaker 6: the last game and saying let's do a little bit
- 19:15Speaker 6: of what New England did.
- 19:16Speaker 3: So this front they got some work to do.
- 19:19Speaker 6: But I think when they're healthy and when they're just
- 19:21Speaker 6: getting downhill and keeping linebackers clean, they got a shot.
- 19:24Speaker 5: The cool thing, too, is is a home game. It's
- 19:26Speaker 5: not at ten am. It's back at home. So the
- 19:28Speaker 5: twelves are going to be behind this defense. And now I
- 19:30Speaker 5: have a rookie, not a rookie, it'should say, a quarterback
- 19:33Speaker 5: who's making his fourth career start in the NFL. So
- 19:36Speaker 5: I think we're gonna get a steady dose of a
- 19:38Speaker 5: Chan and Mostert if he is playing. So I'll be
- 19:40Speaker 5: an interesting matchup to watch moving forward. Talking about weapons
- 19:43Speaker 5: for mister Thompson, man, I mean I'm biased because I
- 19:47Speaker 5: think the two best receivers in the league, whatever tantem
- 19:51Speaker 5: you want to split it, if it's Dkjsan Jays and
- 19:53Speaker 5: DK Tyler Locket Jason, whatever combo, there's a lot of
- 19:56Speaker 5: them you can do. I'm not a math major, but
- 19:57Speaker 5: there's some combos in there, some of those three. But
- 20:00Speaker 5: if I'm objectively looking outside of the Seahawks, Tyreek killing
- 20:03Speaker 5: Jaalen wattle Man of them they're probably the best in
- 20:06Speaker 5: the league. Tyreek Hill already passed a ten thousand yard
- 20:09Speaker 5: mark for career receiving yards, and it's coming off the
- 20:11Speaker 5: best season of his career. He led this the league
- 20:14Speaker 5: in receiving yards, touchdowns, and yards per game last year.
- 20:17Speaker 5: He's an eight time Pro Bowler, been a first team
- 20:19Speaker 5: All Pro five guys, including the last two seasons. That yeah,
- 20:24Speaker 5: and yes he played with Patrick Mahomes, but man him
- 20:28Speaker 5: in the resurrection of TUA, big part of the guys
- 20:31Speaker 5: he's thrown to, and he's one of them. And you
- 20:33Speaker 5: look at so far this year, he's got ten receptions,
- 20:36Speaker 5: one hundred and fifty four yards, one touchdown. I mentioned
- 20:38Speaker 5: last year he had one hundred and nineteen receptions. That's crazy,
- 20:42Speaker 5: seven and ninety nine yards, thirteen touchdowns.
- 20:45Speaker 3: It's not fair. Yeah, it's not fair.
- 20:48Speaker 4: So I would love to throw Tyreek kill the football.
- 20:50Speaker 5: So he's obviously amazing on paper, and then on the
- 20:53Speaker 5: other side, it's not like the other.
- 20:54Speaker 4: Dude, some kind of scrub. He is a Pro Bowl
- 20:56Speaker 4: type player.
- 20:57Speaker 5: Jaalen Wattle former first round pick six overall out of
- 21:00Speaker 5: the University of Alabama, and he's had a great start
- 21:02Speaker 5: to his career, three straight one thousand yard seasons led
- 21:06Speaker 5: the NFL and yards per reception in twenty twenty two
- 21:09Speaker 5: at eighteen and last year seventy two receptions oney fourteen
- 21:13Speaker 5: yards in four touchdowns two games. This year been a
- 21:16Speaker 5: little quieter, nine receptions t one hundred and fifty yards,
- 21:18Speaker 5: zero touchdowns on nine targets. So the Seahawks are going
- 21:22Speaker 5: to get their first real tests in terms of the secondary.
- 21:25Speaker 5: We know how good our secondary is with Witherspoon and
- 21:28Speaker 5: Riek Wohlan and Jenkins and Julian Love and Kevon Wallace
- 21:32Speaker 5: and everyone there. Kobe Bryant's gonna get a shot all
- 21:34Speaker 5: these different people, but this is the first time they're
- 21:37Speaker 5: facing a tandem with this kind of burner speed, this
- 21:40Speaker 5: kind of talent to rout you up all up and
- 21:42Speaker 5: down the football field. And the Seahawks events have been
- 21:45Speaker 5: clamping guys up, allowing you know, the second best passing
- 21:48Speaker 5: defense in the National Football League. But this is gonna
- 21:50Speaker 5: be fun tests to watch this week.
- 21:51Speaker 6: Yeah, Like, no disrespect to the Broncos wide receiver corps.
- 21:54Speaker 6: Ain't no Pro Bowl was over there right New England.
- 21:56Speaker 6: I think what maybe there were three receptions outside of
- 21:59Speaker 6: the tight end last week All game, Yeah, all game
- 22:02Speaker 6: one hundred. Salute to you, mister tight end. For the
- 22:05Speaker 6: new England pages and digit theme. This is a different
- 22:07Speaker 6: kind of challenge man, So Reek's gonna have to depend
- 22:10Speaker 6: on that speed that he has, that technique that he's
- 22:12Speaker 6: developed over the past two and a half season, and
- 22:15Speaker 6: Spoon just has to go out there and be spooning
- 22:17Speaker 6: those safeties fly around. This is the chess match that
- 22:20Speaker 6: I want to see. You got the young gun and
- 22:22Speaker 6: Mike McDaniels the offensive coordinator. You got the young guy
- 22:26Speaker 6: when it comes to NFL experience, but you know Uncle
- 22:28Speaker 6: over there and Grubb trying to bring his offense.
- 22:31Speaker 3: To the table.
- 22:31Speaker 6: And just see how these guys go back and forth.
- 22:33Speaker 6: You sprinkle in the defense. It should be a good win.
- 22:35Speaker 6: Speaking of offense, let's talk about our receivers. You got
- 22:38Speaker 6: DK got Lockett in JSM last week.
- 22:42Speaker 3: DK did his thing.
- 22:43Speaker 6: Ten receptions, one twenty nine and one touchdown on fourteen targets.
- 22:47Speaker 6: He passed Tyler Lockett and Darryl Jackson for the most
- 22:49Speaker 6: receptions in a player's first six seasons with three hundred
- 22:52Speaker 6: and eighty five. He also passed Darrel Jackson four, second
- 22:56Speaker 6: place in the franchise history for most yards in the
- 22:58Speaker 6: players first six seasons with fifty four hundred and ninety.
- 23:02Speaker 6: Last week, JSN had the game of his career. Now
- 23:06Speaker 6: that's it if you don't count the game winner against
- 23:08Speaker 6: Philly or the game winner against Cleveland.
- 23:10Speaker 3: Those were clutch plays.
- 23:11Speaker 6: But overall he had a career day twelve receptions, career high,
- 23:15Speaker 6: one hundred and seventeen yards career high, and I was
- 23:17Speaker 6: on sixteen targets. Man dkjson accounted for thirty of the
- 23:21Speaker 6: forty four targets last week.
- 23:24Speaker 3: And then those sleep on Tyler Lockett.
- 23:25Speaker 6: Though on the stat sheet is gonna say, oh he
- 23:28Speaker 6: had two targets, Now I really had four because Sutam
- 23:31Speaker 6: thinks were passing the afferences.
- 23:32Speaker 3: And they were big and they were clutched.
- 23:34Speaker 6: Then he had one big cash towards the end of
- 23:36Speaker 6: the year where he put the little Oki dok on
- 23:39Speaker 6: them guy out of bounds. And the thing about Tyler
- 23:41Speaker 6: Lockett is he's not I don't think he's worried about
- 23:44Speaker 6: his targets. He goes whatever. Whenever you need me, I
- 23:47Speaker 6: got you. If those two young guns want to go
- 23:49Speaker 6: get that money, go get it because when it's clutch time,
- 23:52Speaker 6: you are going to look at number sixteen. Now secondary,
- 23:56Speaker 6: Jalen Ramsey is one of the best corners in the game.
- 23:59Speaker 6: Just got for a reason, DK Tyler, they're gonna see him.
- 24:04Speaker 6: This is the first time JSM is gonna see Jaylen Ramsey.
- 24:08Speaker 3: But I feel like he's gonna be on a slot
- 24:09Speaker 3: a bit more so he ain't gona see him too much.
- 24:11Speaker 5: Well, it'll be interesting too because DK and Jayleen Ramsey
- 24:15Speaker 5: are very familiar.
- 24:16Speaker 6: Oh yeaha, this is like a UFC main event coming
- 24:19Speaker 6: up on Sunday fighting exactly exactly. You know, they didn't
- 24:26Speaker 6: put a graphic up. You know, NFL. I'm not gonna
- 24:29Speaker 6: say the station because I don't know who he affiliated with,
- 24:30Speaker 6: But NFL golet and take my guy NASA's idea and
- 24:34Speaker 6: use that graphic. Jayleen Ramsey right. His first season in Miami,
- 24:38Speaker 6: he played in ten games. He had twenty two tackles,
- 24:40Speaker 6: three interceptions, five passes defendant. Despite playing in just ten games,
- 24:44Speaker 6: he was still voted to the Pro Bowl because everybody
- 24:46Speaker 6: knows what's up with him. He was previously an All
- 24:49Speaker 6: Pro corner in twenty twenty and twenty twenty one on
- 24:52Speaker 6: the other side of Ramsey, you got another veteran.
- 24:54Speaker 3: You got Kendall Fuller.
- 24:55Speaker 6: Last season, he had seventy nine tackles, two interceptions, nine
- 24:58Speaker 6: passes defendant in two he fls at safety. The Dolphins
- 25:02Speaker 6: have a twelve year veteran, Jordan Poyer has been in
- 25:04Speaker 6: the league twelve years. I was shocked by that because
- 25:07Speaker 6: I remember him all this time in Buffalo. Twelve is
- 25:09Speaker 6: a long damn time. I would have said like six
- 25:11Speaker 6: or seven. Yeah, man, all right, I see you keep
- 25:14Speaker 6: doing your thing.
- 25:15Speaker 3: Man.
- 25:15Speaker 6: He was the first time All Pro guy in twenty
- 25:17Speaker 6: twenty one Pro Bowler in twenty twenty two. Poyer had
- 25:20Speaker 6: one hundred tackles, two TFLs, two quarterback hits, one sack,
- 25:23Speaker 6: and four passes defended last season. So I mean, look,
- 25:28Speaker 6: they're the fourth fourth best defense against the pass on
- 25:31Speaker 6: line one thirty nine. For reason, they got the names
- 25:34Speaker 6: out there, But guess what, we got some names over
- 25:37Speaker 6: here too.
- 25:38Speaker 3: Let's get ready.
- 25:39Speaker 6: I'm not gonna say because you get fine if you
- 25:42Speaker 6: say that phrase, Let's get ready to you can't say
- 25:45Speaker 6: you cannot, and this podcast can't afford it, can't afford it.
- 25:47Speaker 4: Let's get ready to do path to victory.
- 25:49Speaker 3: There you go, after.
- 25:52Speaker 2: Forty five waits for the staff, Michael Dixon puts it down.
- 25:55Speaker 3: That kick is away, and.
- 25:57Speaker 2: That kick is good.
- 25:59Speaker 1: Good, say off, it's gun. It's a path to victory.
- 26:02Speaker 1: On Hawk Talk.
- 26:05Speaker 4: Man, just keep playing winning football.
- 26:06Speaker 5: I think it's really refreshing, even if you're not perfect,
- 26:08Speaker 5: to find ways to win games. That's what the Seahawks
- 26:10Speaker 5: did last week. And for me, Bump, it's gonna start defensively.
- 26:14Speaker 5: Get after Scott Thompson. And that's not to be disrespectful.
- 26:17Speaker 4: That's us.
- 26:17Speaker 5: He's making his fourth career start. The Seahawks are at home.
- 26:20Speaker 5: He's yet to put up big, normal numbers, so let's
- 26:22Speaker 5: not start that on Sunday. I think if you pressure,
- 26:24Speaker 5: confuse him early and often do different things to create turnovers.
- 26:28Speaker 5: Seahawks had three turnovers against the Broncos, didn't have any
- 26:30Speaker 5: last week.
- 26:31Speaker 4: Hoping to get that changed on Sunday.
- 26:33Speaker 6: Yep, stop that run, man, I know it's gonna The
- 26:37Speaker 6: Dolphins have bigger names. I feel like Stevenson is a baller,
- 26:40Speaker 6: but he's like a quiet one.
- 26:42Speaker 3: People don't really respect him.
- 26:43Speaker 6: You got the bigger names with mosterd a channel over here,
- 26:45Speaker 6: but you got to stop the run man, get to
- 26:47Speaker 6: the football, tackle, do all the necessary things.
- 26:50Speaker 3: And defensive line, man, how do you do that?
- 26:53Speaker 6: You're aggressive, you get a push, you got the linebackers
- 26:56Speaker 6: fall around freely, and you're good to going to offensively
- 26:59Speaker 6: get back to doing whatever Dad. In the second half
- 27:01Speaker 6: against Denver, which is running that rock man, ken Walker
- 27:04Speaker 6: ended up with a buck twenty on the day and
- 27:06Speaker 6: Gino made some place of the air. So those are
- 27:08Speaker 6: two things that they should focus on, no question about.
- 27:11Speaker 5: I think early in the season you're still filling it out.
- 27:14Speaker 5: I was listening to Ray on the huddle and just
- 27:15Speaker 5: talking about the offensive line, and I think if it
- 27:18Speaker 5: was later in the year, you'd be a little bit
- 27:19Speaker 5: more panicked.
- 27:20Speaker 4: Yeah, but it's two weeks.
- 27:21Speaker 5: You have all these different guys playing together, new coordinator,
- 27:23Speaker 5: new different pieces. So I have fake other and get
- 27:25Speaker 5: it back. Hopefully we'll see ken Walker have have to
- 27:27Speaker 5: wait on Sunday for that. If not full confidence at
- 27:30Speaker 5: sharbonnay and hopefully we get se Kenny mcnawsh get a
- 27:32Speaker 5: carrier or not to kind of help this thing out.
- 27:34Speaker 3: Kenny, dang it, and what I gotta talk to grub Well.
- 27:39Speaker 3: I mean you leave alone. Let Grob do a thing
- 27:41Speaker 3: you can ask.
- 27:41Speaker 4: I feel like he's I think he's kind of got
- 27:43Speaker 4: it covered. It's not even to be dispectful to you.
- 27:45Speaker 4: I'm just saying, but no.
- 27:48Speaker 5: And also, while we're talking about Greb, let's keep this
- 27:50Speaker 5: production going. I love seeing what we saw from DK
- 27:53Speaker 5: and Jsen this last week. Let's keep up their production.
- 27:55Speaker 5: And then lastly, let's keep Gino clean man. If you
- 27:57Speaker 5: protect him, if he has time to work, It's been
- 28:00Speaker 5: obvious what he can do when he's in the pocket
- 28:01Speaker 5: doing his thing. I expect big numbers from Genome, Protect
