- 0:03Speaker 1: This podcast called twenty five way Yes, let me get going,
- 0:11Speaker 1: Let it get going. It's a podcast called twenty five
- 0:15Speaker 1: Wist Souls.
- 0:18Speaker 2: I was confused because I know we said sports, but
- 0:21Speaker 2: then someone said soccer, and then I just looked up
- 0:22Speaker 2: to get a hint, and everybody else was confused.
- 0:24Speaker 1: So we were supposed to say sports there, I think, so.
- 0:28Speaker 2: That's on me as the leader. That's on me. But
- 0:31Speaker 2: when someone yelled soccer, then I went, oh, okay, sorry, sports.
- 0:36Speaker 2: There you go, a hi, everybody, welcome blow the West.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Let here here you go.
- 0:41Speaker 2: How is everybody liking soccer?
- 0:43Speaker 3: Love it awesome?
- 0:44Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 0:44Speaker 2: So you like it if it wasn't America. No, but
- 0:49Speaker 2: but but they only played once a week. No, no,
- 0:51Speaker 2: I know, and that socks I need to play more.
- 0:54Speaker 2: So it's a couple of things for the game itself.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Since I did not grow up in it and I
- 0:58Speaker 2: don't appreciate it, but they did not play it. It's
- 1:01Speaker 2: hard for me to watch with the lack of scoring.
- 1:04Speaker 2: And I think that's traditionally what Americans say, because the
- 1:08Speaker 2: games we play, for the most part, have more scoring
- 1:10Speaker 2: than you watch a baseball game and you're like, what, yeah,
- 1:12Speaker 2: waistelow thank God for the pitch clock. They need a
- 1:14Speaker 2: kick clock. In soccer, we had a kick clock like that,
- 1:17Speaker 2: so I get it. It's the most popular game in
- 1:20Speaker 2: the world for a reason. I've enjoyed watching America play
- 1:24Speaker 2: because it's us and we're not supposed to be that good.
- 1:27Speaker 2: But we're better than we think. But still as a game,
- 1:30Speaker 2: it's really not for me on television because I don't
- 1:32Speaker 2: have the respect for it that I probably should have.
- 1:33Speaker 2: I didn't play it. I did bet though, Oh yeah, well,
- 1:37Speaker 2: I was listening to you guys talk about it last week.
- 1:40Speaker 2: I think it was Brandon and Dylan.
- 1:43Speaker 1: They're like, oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Dylan was trying to
- 1:45Speaker 1: tell me what to bet for the USA game, which
- 1:47Speaker 1: I think I hit it.
- 1:49Speaker 2: I didn't hit the Parlay who he said was gonna score.
- 1:51Speaker 1: No, No, that one I didn't hit. He said somebody
- 1:53Speaker 1: was gonna score, like they were new to score, and
- 1:54Speaker 1: they didn't score.
- 1:55Speaker 2: I did hit the win, but then I lost to Parlay.
- 1:58Speaker 2: But I'm up a little bit in soccer. My one bet,
- 2:00Speaker 2: I mean.
- 2:00Speaker 1: You know what I'm I'm liking most than any other
- 2:03Speaker 1: bet is the over over under goals.
- 2:06Speaker 3: It Gordon huh, like all the games.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Yeah, and you can take it down to over one,
- 2:11Speaker 1: you know, and the odds aren't great, but some sometimes
- 2:13Speaker 1: the odds are okay for over one goal.
- 2:15Speaker 2: They just need to play more than once a week
- 2:17Speaker 2: your team, like US said, Yeah, I get why they can't.
- 2:20Speaker 2: There are so many games and they're all in these
- 2:22Speaker 2: big stadiums, and only so many stadiums to play. But
- 2:24Speaker 2: it does move a little faster once we start kicking
- 2:27Speaker 2: out some of these small countries.
- 2:28Speaker 1: I think we could. Yeah, I think we can start
- 2:30Speaker 1: a little earlier too, you know, like we can have
- 2:32Speaker 1: a game at eight am.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Because West Coast if they're playing West Coast or six
- 2:36Speaker 2: am games.
- 2:36Speaker 1: That's true, that's true.
- 2:37Speaker 2: I guess you could play in Boston regardless. It's it's
- 2:40Speaker 2: an enjoyable experience to watch the US play.
- 2:43Speaker 3: You know what, I've really noticed. The fields are just
- 2:45Speaker 3: perfect maculate. Yes they have to be, but like, why
- 2:48Speaker 3: are the NFL fields like that?
- 2:50Speaker 1: But they're not depending. NFL is not dependent on a
- 2:52Speaker 1: ball to roll a certain way.
- 2:53Speaker 2: I would say, more it's the constant hitting of the
- 2:56Speaker 2: ground with the people in their pads and the weight
- 2:58Speaker 2: more than it is a ball rolling US.
- 3:00Speaker 1: I like the helmets and all of that.
- 3:02Speaker 2: That's all constantly and grass. These are all turf fields,
- 3:05Speaker 2: right or they are grass, whatever the case is. I
- 3:08Speaker 2: think there's more impact on NFL fields. Again, I'm speaking
- 3:11Speaker 2: from a butthole right now. I know nothing about it, dude.
- 3:14Speaker 1: It's cool how these players when they score a goal,
- 3:16Speaker 1: they can slide. They can literally do a belly slide
- 3:18Speaker 1: and they slide for ten feet. I wish the football
- 3:22Speaker 1: players could do that, like woo. They probably can't fresh field. Yeah,
- 3:26Speaker 1: not on turf, No, not on grass. Yes, yeah, that
- 3:29Speaker 1: would be a cool celebration.
- 3:31Speaker 2: So it's kind of neat. Well, we'll talk some soccer
- 3:33Speaker 2: in a little bit. I did see Alexi Lwais say
- 3:35Speaker 2: I'm not saying football. I'm only saying soccer.
- 3:38Speaker 1: I love that.
- 3:38Speaker 2: He's like, the Americans are like on me for not
- 3:40Speaker 2: calling it football. You're the posers, not met a lot
- 3:44Speaker 2: of Yeah.
- 3:45Speaker 1: I love that, dude.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Yeah, so yeah, that's what's up.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Do you remember him? I had to him up in
- 3:50Speaker 1: a picture of the when he played in the World Cup,
- 3:52Speaker 1: like background here, dude. He had a goates this long
- 3:55Speaker 1: really and and I like a big curly afro like
- 3:59Speaker 1: it was it's so different from the way he looks
- 4:01Speaker 1: now that it's unbelievable.
- 4:04Speaker 2: MESSI just missed a penalty shot. Is that what happened?
- 4:07Speaker 3: Yeah, he had a penalty shot to set the new
- 4:10Speaker 3: record for the World Cup goals, most goals in World
- 4:12Speaker 3: Cup history, and he missed it.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Wow, And that's crazy, right, that's great.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Yeah, because the percentage of them making those kicks are
- 4:19Speaker 1: pretty high because it's they have all the control. The
- 4:22Speaker 1: kicker has all the control.
- 4:23Speaker 2: And as a goalie, are you just guessing?
- 4:24Speaker 1: Yeah, they guess all the time, but.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Are you guessing or are you looking for something?
- 4:30Speaker 1: I'm not a goalie, so I can't answer that. But
- 4:32Speaker 1: the way it looks is that every player for the
- 4:35Speaker 1: most part, hesitates the kick, and once they hesitate the kick,
- 4:39Speaker 1: the goalie usually flies one way and they just kick
- 4:41Speaker 1: it the other way.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Okay, I said, what's the percentage of penalty shots made
- 4:45Speaker 2: in pro soccer? Seventy five to eighty percent of the time.
- 4:49Speaker 1: It's pretty good. Yeah, it's pretty high.
- 4:51Speaker 2: And penalty shootouts it's lower because of the added pressure
- 4:55Speaker 2: because that means a game is on the line, so
- 4:56Speaker 2: people are a little tighter than if in a game
- 4:58Speaker 2: when you still have a lot of game behind you.
- 5:00Speaker 1: You probably you guys may not know the answer to this,
- 5:02Speaker 1: But when do we start doing that? So when do
- 5:05Speaker 1: we start taking the draws away? We're just guessing, right,
- 5:08Speaker 1: So I'm gonna guess because I'm looking forward.
- 5:10Speaker 2: This is what I would guess. Please look me up.
- 5:11Speaker 2: If I remember from the last time they play the
- 5:13Speaker 2: full game, they play an overtime or extended, then they
- 5:17Speaker 2: play another one, and if they go over too and
- 5:20Speaker 2: it's still tied, then you kick penalty shots. What I
- 5:24Speaker 2: don't know is if it's sudden death in the overtime
- 5:27Speaker 2: or not?
- 5:28Speaker 1: Oh interesting, or do they get a chance to score again?
- 5:31Speaker 2: And as a matter of fact, I don't know if
- 5:32Speaker 2: any of that's right.
- 5:33Speaker 1: I don't And my question too is when in the
- 5:35Speaker 1: World Cup stages do we start doing that?
- 5:38Speaker 2: Okay, so, well, you have to as soon as it
- 5:41Speaker 2: goes to knockout round because you have to have a winner,
- 5:42Speaker 2: got it.
- 5:43Speaker 1: So we're done with draws after this?
- 5:45Speaker 2: After we play Turkey, I A dude, what is that?
- 5:50Speaker 4: What is it? Turkey?
- 5:51Speaker 2: I Kevin? What'd you find out about that?
- 5:53Speaker 3: Yeah? So they after it's tied after ninety minutes, then
- 5:55Speaker 3: there's thirty minutes of extra time, which is two fifteen
- 5:58Speaker 3: minute extra so like double overtime, okay, and then the
- 6:02Speaker 3: match is decided by penalty penalty kicks if it's still
- 6:05Speaker 3: tied up to.
- 6:06Speaker 2: That, dude, is it sudden death in that thirty minutes
- 6:09Speaker 2: best of five? No, so it's just now Now I'm not
- 6:11Speaker 2: trying penalty kicks. I'm talking about in time.
- 6:13Speaker 3: If you score, they still have time, so you get
- 6:15Speaker 3: thirty minutes regardless.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Yes, so it's just time.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Thirty minutes two it's okay, So it's they don't break
- 6:21Speaker 2: it up, but it's thirty minutes, which is two fifteen minutes.
- 6:24Speaker 3: Yeah, but they do break it up.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Oh they do.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, like a short break.
- 6:27Speaker 2: You gotta have the hy hydration hydration break to you.
- 6:29Speaker 1: By power aid.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Yeah, got it. Okay, Well there's soccer talk.
- 6:33Speaker 1: I love it, dude. I love it because I feel
- 6:36Speaker 1: like it's enough time every time when what the World
- 6:38Speaker 1: Cup comes around for me to forget the rules again,
- 6:41Speaker 1: you know, like I swear I look these rules up
- 6:43Speaker 1: last time, but I forgot.
- 6:45Speaker 3: I love it because there's nothing else to watch right now.
- 6:47Speaker 1: You didn't watch the US Open.
- 6:49Speaker 3: I did not Wow.
- 6:50Speaker 2: I didn't watch the uso oh a golf golf. I
- 6:54Speaker 2: watched when I'm called you get hackled by the art fans.
- 6:56Speaker 1: I didn't see that was that it's a whole.
- 6:58Speaker 4: It was a whole.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Last day. They were rooting against them out loud.
- 7:00Speaker 1: That's crazy. Why because they were going for Shuffler.
- 7:03Speaker 2: No, because of how much of how difficult he has been.
- 7:07Speaker 2: He's the one that crushed the lockers, He's the one
- 7:09Speaker 2: that slammed the sign. He has just been outwardly yelling.
- 7:14Speaker 2: They were, dude, they were. He was a bad guy
- 7:15Speaker 2: in wrestling. When his ball would hit the green of
- 7:18Speaker 2: roll off, they would cheer when he hit off that
- 7:22Speaker 2: of the tea box once they go get in the sand.
- 7:24Speaker 2: I've never seen anything like it before. I was hoping
- 7:26Speaker 2: you'd watched it.
- 7:27Speaker 1: So I want to day, dude. I want his father's day. Dude.
- 7:30Speaker 1: It's hard like either I decide and tell the family
- 7:33Speaker 1: I'm going to watch golf all day, or I'm going
- 7:35Speaker 1: to be like, hey, we can go do something.
- 7:37Speaker 2: It was the most unbelievable thing I've ever seen in golf.
- 7:40Speaker 2: I've never seen that except for the Ryder Cup.
- 7:42Speaker 1: They they yelled.
- 7:44Speaker 2: But if you're at the home place, yep, against the
- 7:46Speaker 2: other team. Right, this was an American at the US
- 7:49Speaker 2: Open who was leading. They were yelling against him the
- 7:52Speaker 2: whole day.
- 7:52Speaker 1: That's interesting, Like is he the new Bryce Bryson dish
- 7:56Speaker 1: on boat because like people hate hated on him.
- 7:57Speaker 2: They didn't yell at him like this. I've never seen
- 8:00Speaker 2: seen this in a major wow where people the ball
- 8:03Speaker 2: rolled off the green I'm not sure what green, and
- 8:04Speaker 2: they were like, yeah, they were cheering. It didn't matter
- 8:07Speaker 2: who was against because they were rooting for Scottie some
- 8:11Speaker 2: but then it went over to Sam Burns. It was
- 8:13Speaker 2: everybody but him.
- 8:14Speaker 4: That's a little bit.
- 8:15Speaker 2: They're rooting for the Japanese guys.
- 8:17Speaker 3: And then he went from six shots to one.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Yeah, dude, he started the day with six, six shots
- 8:23Speaker 1: above everyone else.
- 8:24Speaker 2: And at the end his dad met him and they
- 8:26Speaker 2: walked eighteen with his dad carrying the bag for him,
- 8:28Speaker 2: like everything that that should have happened. Into the press conference,
- 8:32Speaker 2: He's like, I get it, I get it.
- 8:34Speaker 1: And so what did he do? Smashing the lockers line?
- 8:37Speaker 2: So you have to find the course?
- 8:38Speaker 1: But he oh, it wasn't this course, No, no, no, not.
- 8:42Speaker 2: He guy like kicked out after because he broke two
- 8:46Speaker 2: lockers in the clubhouse oak at Oakmont.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Yeah, so he was kicked out of that.
- 8:51Speaker 4: I think in.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Oakmont two is where he broke the It was a
- 8:53Speaker 2: cell phone company signed on the T box. Dang, like
- 8:56Speaker 2: verisener T Mobile? Is that a company?
- 9:01Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, yeah. You know what was interesting when he
- 9:03Speaker 1: was playing because I did see early on in the
- 9:05Speaker 1: day they interviewed his psychologist, his sports psychologist. I'd never
- 9:11Speaker 1: seen that.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Before, say you need to do a better job.
- 9:13Speaker 1: She was just talking about how you know, like she
- 9:16Speaker 1: she's proud of him, and he's come a long way,
- 9:19Speaker 1: and we worked really hard at his mental game.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Mike, would you see if you can find any clip
- 9:25Speaker 2: of the fans heckling him and just let me know
- 9:27Speaker 2: when you find it. I really thought Eddie was gonna
- 9:29Speaker 2: leand more his Hollywood Hogan. Wow, they were outwardly yelling
- 9:33Speaker 2: against him.
- 9:34Speaker 1: I think a big part too, of me not fighting
- 9:36Speaker 1: to watch it is the six stroke lead on a
- 9:39Speaker 1: course that were like it was impossible to get birdies.
- 9:42Speaker 1: You know, it's hard for people to come up. It
- 9:44Speaker 1: was more possible for him to go down.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Day one, though, is a lot easier than they thought.
- 9:48Speaker 2: He also got the weather, the good of the weather.
- 9:51Speaker 1: He was the second group of the day.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Yeah. So again, I don't watch much of it. I
- 9:57Speaker 2: just I wasn't doing anything. The baby sleeps on weird
- 9:59Speaker 2: like nap schedule, so i'd turn something on, turn something on. Yeah,
- 10:03Speaker 2: watch a little, let me know. If you find something,
- 10:05Speaker 2: I'll go to you. No rush, though I did not
- 10:09Speaker 2: play golf, though I thought Eddie never gonna play golf.
- 10:11Speaker 3: I saw a thing of John Ram kicking his driver.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Was that this weekend?
- 10:16Speaker 2: I'm telling you, I only saw it happen in like
- 10:18Speaker 2: the twelve minutes I was watching it, and I went
- 10:20Speaker 2: to find other clips because something felt weird about it. Huh, So, yeah,
- 10:24Speaker 2: that happened. We're at Shinnecog.
- 10:27Speaker 4: Is that New York?
- 10:27Speaker 1: New York or New Jersey? Nantucket? Like that area.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Feels too rich for me to know exactly where it is.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean you look, you watch on TV and
- 10:36Speaker 1: you're just like, man, that looks like it's a different country.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Does it look fun to play?
- 10:40Speaker 3: No Long Island?
- 10:42Speaker 1: No?
- 10:42Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, okay, so it is New York, dude.
- 10:44Speaker 1: No. I as soon as they were in that that
- 10:47Speaker 1: rough was like two three feet tall. There's no way
- 10:50Speaker 1: that any of us in this room would get that
- 10:52Speaker 1: ball out.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Oh they grow everybody up. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, so
- 10:58Speaker 2: it wouldn't for us.
- 10:59Speaker 1: They would please And I'm thinking too, like if they
- 11:02Speaker 1: left it that hard for the public, like would you
- 11:05Speaker 1: even want to pay? How much would the would that
- 11:07Speaker 1: cost like five hundred bucks to play? You still would wow?
- 11:10Speaker 2: Think so you'd pay? You'd pay more than did you see?
- 11:12Speaker 1: Those guys would hit the ball pin high and it
- 11:14Speaker 1: would still roll off the green.
- 11:16Speaker 2: I didn't watch much of it. You watched more than
- 11:17Speaker 2: I did.
- 11:18Speaker 1: I did. I watched the three days before Eddie.
- 11:20Speaker 5: Do you remember the time when there was poison ivy
- 11:22Speaker 5: in the rough and you expected Bobby to still play?
- 11:26Speaker 1: Yeah? I think that they would do that in the
- 11:28Speaker 1: US Open if.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Like, they wouldn't be poison ivy at the US Open.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Out them talk to the club man.
- 11:34Speaker 3: Did you see the lady grab Rory's ball off the
- 11:37Speaker 3: tee when he hit into the crowd and they showed it,
- 11:40Speaker 3: And they didn't show what happened after because the camera
- 11:42Speaker 3: went back to Rory, but they showed the ball land
- 11:44Speaker 3: and sit there for a second. And some lady just
- 11:45Speaker 3: walked up and just bent over it, grab it, and
- 11:48Speaker 3: you can just hear the whole crowd.
- 11:49Speaker 2: No, yes, do you want to hear how much the
- 11:54Speaker 2: most expensive public golf courses are? Yes, for a tea,
- 11:57Speaker 2: time Shadow Creek in Las Vegas, approximate it cost fifty dollars.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Oh gosh, TPC Sawgrass Stadium of Course in Florida nine
- 12:08Speaker 2: hundred dollars.
- 12:09Speaker 1: That's Jacksonville, right, this is Florida, so probable. I think
- 12:13Speaker 1: that's the one with like the famous seventeenth Green. You know,
- 12:16Speaker 1: what's an island?
- 12:18Speaker 2: I know in my head, but where like I couldn't
- 12:21Speaker 2: verify your right, I just can picture what you're saying.
- 12:23Speaker 3: It's Vidra Vidra beach ion.
- 12:28Speaker 2: A putting a lesson with somebody who's home golf courses.
- 12:33Speaker 2: There a famous golfer in a charity auction. I didn't
- 12:36Speaker 2: forgot who it was. I never went and took it.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Is that still valid?
- 12:39Speaker 2: I don't know, I do. I can't remember who it was.
- 12:41Speaker 1: So like, how do you look that up?
- 12:45Speaker 2: Pebble Beach eight hundred bucks.
- 12:47Speaker 1: That's pretty cool, it's iconic. A person that's crazy.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Dude whistling Straits in Wisconsin seven thirty five, Kiawa Island
- 12:58Speaker 2: Ocean Course in South Carolina seven hundred, Pinehurst Number two
- 13:01Speaker 2: in North Carolina six hundred, that would be nice, Spyglass
- 13:04Speaker 2: in California five hundred, that's.
- 13:05Speaker 1: Next to pebble.
- 13:06Speaker 2: We played that one.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Yeah, how much is that?
- 13:08Speaker 2: Six hundred? Five hundred win Golf Club seven to fifty.
- 13:12Speaker 1: We've played that one.
- 13:12Speaker 2: We played that one at the hotel.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Yeah, is it really?
- 13:16Speaker 2: I'll just get it's really, And to be fair, we
- 13:20Speaker 2: have not played it. Paid a dollar for any of this,
- 13:22Speaker 2: so I'm like, yeah, it's mostly.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Wait, so it's in Vegas.
- 13:25Speaker 2: It's literally you walk out of the.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Back of the wind dude, it's connected to the hotel.
- 13:29Speaker 3: Is that the one that they did with like Brady
- 13:31Speaker 3: they broadcasted okay two versus two or okay.
- 13:35Speaker 2: That with us Eddie, George Bersi and Tom. I was
- 13:39Speaker 2: doing a comedy show there, so it's at the literal
- 13:42Speaker 2: when I remember that actually George was opening and so
- 13:44Speaker 2: we went and played they and they only have like
- 13:47Speaker 2: I'm going to make up a number, but like eleven
- 13:49Speaker 2: people playing at once, eleven groups playing at once, so
- 13:51Speaker 2: you never run into anybody.
- 13:53Speaker 3: Dang, that's pretty play scramble or no?
- 13:55Speaker 2: Not okay, now you don't scramble a place like that.
- 13:58Speaker 1: You want your first time?
- 14:00Speaker 2: Yeah, so yep, that's crazy that.
- 14:04Speaker 1: I didn't know Pebble Beach was public. So you can
- 14:07Speaker 1: just call, hey, you got in two time at three o'clock.
- 14:09Speaker 2: I'm not sure how that works.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Me and my me and my sons are going. You
- 14:13Speaker 1: guys have a two time.
- 14:15Speaker 2: You probably could, that's crazy, Mike, do you have anything?
- 14:18Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 14:18Speaker 1: Running playing at ross?
- 14:20Speaker 4: Was he what?
- 14:20Speaker 2: Evans?
- 14:20Speaker 6: Okay?
- 14:37Speaker 3: I just expected to make it with all the ones
- 14:39Speaker 3: he's made today.
- 14:41Speaker 1: I'll give the guy he was gonna be paired with
- 14:43Speaker 1: tomorrow a little more hope in that final group.
- 14:46Speaker 2: So I guess that's the day before. Yeah, okay, Oh come,
- 15:04Speaker 2: is that rolling off the green?
- 15:05Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 15:06Speaker 2: And there clap clipping rolled off the green. Do you
- 15:08Speaker 2: think that was a good shot by Heller clapping? Yeah,
- 15:11Speaker 2: off the green? Yeah, Wyndham Clark, I mean he may
- 15:13Speaker 2: we may talk to him.
- 15:16Speaker 1: What do you mean?
- 15:17Speaker 2: I don't know. It's like they asked to do I
- 15:18Speaker 2: want to talk to one today today? I'm not sure
- 15:21Speaker 2: if we It just depends on our schedule. Because their
- 15:24Speaker 2: schedule is different. But we're not up here at four pm.
- 15:26Speaker 1: You're right, but that would be cool. Yeah, dude, the
- 15:30Speaker 1: two time US Open champ.
- 15:32Speaker 2: That's one two.
- 15:32Speaker 1: It's crazy. And he didn't just win this one, like
- 15:36Speaker 1: I know it was by one stroke, but for him
- 15:37Speaker 1: to have a six stroke league going into the fourth
- 15:39Speaker 1: round is a big deal.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Did you go look for a golf bag this weekend?
- 15:44Speaker 1: I didn't look for a golf bag, but I went
- 15:46Speaker 1: to the store because my kids hit the simulator there,
- 15:49Speaker 1: and sometimes when they're in the simulator, I'll walk around
- 15:52Speaker 1: kind of see what's going on. And I just walked
- 15:55Speaker 1: by the bags and there was this one bag that
- 15:57Speaker 1: kind of caught my eye. It was cool, you know me.
- 15:59Speaker 1: I like hawai and shirts, so it was like flowery.
- 16:02Speaker 1: I thought it was Hawaiian really, but then when I
- 16:04Speaker 1: got closer it was like really it was like hot,
- 16:07Speaker 1: pink and like really girly, and I was like, okay,
- 16:10Speaker 1: this is this is a girl's bag. But I was
- 16:12Speaker 1: looking at it and the sales guy comes up and
- 16:14Speaker 1: goes like, Oh, that's got your name written all over it,
- 16:17Speaker 1: and I was like, what the crap does that mean?
- 16:21Speaker 1: You're by yourself by myself?
- 16:23Speaker 2: What do you think that meant? Like?
- 16:25Speaker 1: Was he trying to say, like, you're feminine? So that's
- 16:30Speaker 1: I felt like. He was like, Oh, you're a gay dude,
- 16:32Speaker 1: so here by the bag. That's what I felt.
- 16:34Speaker 2: But did you like.
- 16:35Speaker 1: It at first? But then when I got close to him,
- 16:37Speaker 1: like this is clearly a woman's bag. From a distance,
- 16:40Speaker 1: I was like, that's kind of cool, kind of looks like,
- 16:43Speaker 1: I don't know, just like tropical flowers. But when you
- 16:46Speaker 1: get closer, it was definitely like, this is a chicks bag.
- 16:49Speaker 2: I would bet you more than fifteen times I've been
- 16:52Speaker 2: like at the mall or something with my wife or
- 16:54Speaker 2: see a shirt or I had, and I'm like, that's cool.
- 16:56Speaker 2: We get close, it's a woman, right, I'm just no, no,
- 16:59Speaker 2: I still like it when I get close to it.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Oh no, no, no, no I am and.
- 17:01Speaker 2: She's like, no, that's women's and you still like, yeah, shoes.
- 17:06Speaker 1: See. I was like once I got close on, oh,
- 17:08Speaker 1: I'm not. I mean, I'm not even that's not for me.
- 17:10Speaker 5: But what did you say to the guy when he
- 17:11Speaker 5: said that's got you written all over it?
- 17:14Speaker 1: I just kind of said like huh.
- 17:16Speaker 3: He didn't laugh or like he was dead serious.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Dead serious, like you should get that bag that's got
- 17:21Speaker 1: you written all over it. And then I started looking
- 17:23Speaker 1: at my clothes like am I wearing girly stuff?
- 17:25Speaker 5: Like?
- 17:26Speaker 1: But I wasn't big beach guy though, right, I love
- 17:29Speaker 1: the beach. There you go, but this was really.
- 17:31Speaker 2: I don't know how much was the bag?
- 17:33Speaker 1: Oh they're expensive, like four inner bucks.
- 17:35Speaker 2: What kind of bag was that?
- 17:36Speaker 1: I don't even remember thet I'm telling you, dude, I
- 17:38Speaker 1: just saw the flower print. I thought it was Hawaiian
- 17:41Speaker 1: but then it was like really flower print. But I
- 17:43Speaker 1: mean I wasn't even in the market for a new bag.
- 17:45Speaker 1: But dude, that's how they get you. You go in
- 17:47Speaker 1: there for that simulator. Next thing, you know, you're like
- 17:49Speaker 1: cool stuff, get some balls while I'm here. That's a
- 17:52Speaker 1: cool head cover.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Do you pay for the simulator?
- 17:54Speaker 1: Yeah? But the boys they're part of Youth on Course,
- 17:57Speaker 1: which is like really good for like kids. They charged
- 18:00Speaker 1: them five bucks for all of them to hit it,
- 18:03Speaker 1: and they can do. They've sat there for three hours
- 18:05Speaker 1: playing the simulator.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Do you know how to run it?
- 18:07Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, I just pick a course kind of training
- 18:10Speaker 1: on yours on the one that.
- 18:11Speaker 2: You but they just let people run it without any
- 18:13Speaker 2: sort of training.
- 18:14Speaker 1: I mean, if I dropped off the kids, they wouldn't
- 18:17Speaker 1: they wouldn't let the kids just click the buttons. But
- 18:18Speaker 1: since I'm there with them, I can click it. I
- 18:21Speaker 1: saw your thing though, by the way, your simulator.
- 18:25Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, I gave it to a school
- 18:28Speaker 2: and wait.
- 18:29Speaker 3: Like the same one or the exact one, my exact one.
- 18:32Speaker 1: The one that he gave. Really yeah, because my kids
- 18:34Speaker 1: were playing a golf tournament and in the facilities they
- 18:37Speaker 1: had your kids are all, dude, they're so into golf
- 18:40Speaker 1: right now.
- 18:41Speaker 3: What the heck they're in a tournament?
- 18:43Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 18:43Speaker 2: How'd you know it was mine?
- 18:44Speaker 1: Because the guy that was working there, he's just like, hey,
- 18:46Speaker 1: I know Bobby, Like I've given Bobby a few lessons, you.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Know, oh Galen, Yeah yeah, yeah yeah.
- 18:51Speaker 1: And then he's like he's like, you know the simulator.
- 18:54Speaker 1: You know, Bobby was so nice he gave It's like, yeah,
- 18:56Speaker 1: I know I heard about that, and it's like, yeah, yeah,
- 18:59Speaker 1: he was so nice on my know, dude, we played
- 19:00Speaker 1: on that all the time. I love that thing.
- 19:03Speaker 3: You're supposed to give it to me. He's like, can
- 19:05Speaker 3: they go hit it for your old time sake.
- 19:07Speaker 1: It's right in that room right there, Like it's in there.
- 19:12Speaker 3: That sold you the bagger.
- 19:13Speaker 1: No, no, no, no different places different.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Where'd you guys play yesterday for Father's Day? Oh?
- 19:17Speaker 1: We went to two rivers.
- 19:19Speaker 2: I don't think I've ever played there.
- 19:20Speaker 1: It's uh no, it's kind of by the opry. That's
- 19:22Speaker 1: pretty nice, right, it's a public course.
- 19:25Speaker 2: That would mean no, he answered that question.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm telling you with this youthon course thing, like
- 19:30Speaker 1: my kids can play anywhere for five dollars, and so
- 19:34Speaker 1: me three of my boys with two cards, it costs
- 19:37Speaker 1: forty bucks.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Did they ever go out and play and they play
- 19:39Speaker 2: so bad they want to quit? Like we do as adults?
- 19:42Speaker 1: Uh? I have one one of my boys is got
- 19:46Speaker 1: the worst attitude ever, Like it's so bad, dude, Like
- 19:49Speaker 1: he'll hit one bad shot and he'll just won't talk
- 19:52Speaker 1: to me the entire hole, or he'll just you know.
- 19:55Speaker 2: So he plays like lunchbox, yeah dude.
- 19:57Speaker 1: And I told him like, look, you keep this up,
- 19:59Speaker 1: no one's going to I want to play with you,
- 20:01Speaker 1: like no one. And so he ended up not playing
- 20:03Speaker 1: the last two holes because my wife was like, he's
- 20:05Speaker 1: not playing anymore. His attitude is too bad. Yeah, all
- 20:09Speaker 1: because he just wasn't playing well. And then the little
- 20:12Speaker 1: one who's gonna be the best. Dude, he hits the
- 20:15Speaker 1: ball so well. He's seven years old and he doesn't
- 20:18Speaker 1: care at all. He's like whoa every time he hits you.
- 20:23Speaker 1: If he hits it bad, he's like, ah, dang it whatever.
- 20:26Speaker 1: That great attitude and I love it.
- 20:28Speaker 2: That's fun that they like playing because that means you
- 20:30Speaker 2: get to go play more. Yeah, and just go yeah,
- 20:33Speaker 2: I'm just bonding with the kids.
- 20:34Speaker 1: Dude, you don't understand. Every week, I'm just like, all right,
- 20:36Speaker 1: I guess we're gonna play again this week. Guys, you
- 20:38Speaker 1: want to play this bad downplay it? And they're just
- 20:40Speaker 1: like yeah, dad, yeah, all right, honey, I'm gonna take
- 20:42Speaker 1: thee to go play.
- 20:43Speaker 2: All four of them play three or three?
- 20:45Speaker 1: Three of them do yeah. The oldest doesn't really have
- 20:48Speaker 1: an interest in it, and he's got a decent swing.
- 20:50Speaker 1: He just doesn't like spending four hours out there.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Do you there's other three? Do they like to? Are
- 20:56Speaker 2: they all sports?
- 20:57Speaker 4: All?
- 20:57Speaker 2: In?
- 20:58Speaker 1: Everything?
- 20:59Speaker 2: Is that because you're pushing over because they want to?
- 21:00Speaker 1: They just that's all. They're very active and dude, what's
- 21:03Speaker 1: really cool too, is like we played all day yesterday
- 21:07Speaker 1: and then when we got home, they played more in
- 21:09Speaker 1: the backyard. They put a fake hole in the backyard
- 21:12Speaker 1: and they were chipping on it like they just don't stop.
- 21:15Speaker 1: And I looked at my wife and like, oh, they
- 21:17Speaker 1: got the bug. Got the bug is how it starts.
- 21:19Speaker 2: Bug gets expensive though.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I know they're also two now, like, oh,
- 21:23Speaker 1: I think I need new irons, Like start doing that.
- 21:26Speaker 1: I'll start doing that.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Kevin, You're how old are your kids?
- 21:30Speaker 1: One?
- 21:30Speaker 3: Like thirteen months?
- 21:32Speaker 1: Okay?
- 21:32Speaker 2: So it was your second Father's Day? Yeah, last first
- 21:34Speaker 2: one kind of didn't count though, if you're they're one
- 21:36Speaker 2: month old, because my wife had a Mother's Day when
- 21:39Speaker 2: the baby was just a month and a half, that's yeah,
- 21:42Speaker 2: that's just a day of you having to be with
- 21:44Speaker 2: the baby the whole day.
- 21:44Speaker 3: Yeah. I remember last year specifically, I was like, what
- 21:47Speaker 3: day is it Father's and my wife I think it
- 21:49Speaker 3: took her like four hours to be like, hey, happy
- 21:50Speaker 3: Father's Day.
- 21:51Speaker 1: So I got too.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Yeah, how was your first Father's Day this year? The
- 21:54Speaker 2: official the official person in my mind, Yeah, it was good.
- 21:57Speaker 3: My wife was actually out of town. She was out
- 21:59Speaker 3: of a bachelorette par but my dad came into town
- 22:02Speaker 3: for the weekend to help with the kids and to
- 22:05Speaker 3: hang out with us. So it was great because I
- 22:07Speaker 3: got the hang with my dad. He got to hang
- 22:08Speaker 3: out with my kids. So it was like a bonding experience,
- 22:11Speaker 3: all four of us hanging out all week and it
- 22:12Speaker 3: was awesome.
- 22:13Speaker 1: That's cool.
- 22:13Speaker 2: You your dad, the two babies, yep, and you your
- 22:16Speaker 2: wife is good with you doing all the baby stuff. Yeah,
- 22:18Speaker 2: for both of them. Yeah, you don't feel overwhelmed all.
- 22:20Speaker 3: No, I mean having help, any helping hand, even if
- 22:24Speaker 3: it's just like my dad be like, what do I do?
- 22:25Speaker 3: I don't tell them. That's great, but she trusts me to, Yeah,
- 22:30Speaker 3: take care of them, do everything. I got the scheduled down.
- 22:33Speaker 3: I know what they eat, I know when, I know
- 22:34Speaker 3: when they bathe, I know when they go to the bed,
- 22:36Speaker 3: how much they eat, how much they drink. All that
- 22:38Speaker 3: down to a tea. So she trusts me.
- 22:40Speaker 2: Do you put them in bath at the same time?
- 22:41Speaker 3: Yeah, And they they're starting to like really splash now.
- 22:45Speaker 3: They love it. They'll just start splashing and the water
- 22:47Speaker 3: goes everywhere, and then look at the other one and
- 22:48Speaker 3: they'll start laughing, and then they'll splash some more, splash
- 22:51Speaker 3: more and create this big old mess, start throwing toys out.
- 22:53Speaker 1: When does that end? What the boy and the girl
- 22:57Speaker 1: twins bathing together?
- 22:59Speaker 2: I don't know if I'm guessing four. Yeah, that's a
- 23:01Speaker 2: good guess.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Yeah, Like, do you wait till it gets awkward? Or
- 23:04Speaker 1: do you?
- 23:05Speaker 2: I think, like, what ho come? I don't know the
- 23:08Speaker 2: answer to that.
- 23:09Speaker 3: I don't know. Honestly, I haven't even thought about that,
- 23:13Speaker 3: but I would.
- 23:13Speaker 2: Think like four.
- 23:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I like, when did your boys stop taking bass?
- 23:19Speaker 3: In general?
- 23:21Speaker 7: Uh?
- 23:22Speaker 1: I would say bath, bath, like in the tub seven
- 23:26Speaker 1: or eight?
- 23:27Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, see it's not gonna last that long.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure.
- 23:30Speaker 2: I mean I'm still rocking bats.
- 23:33Speaker 1: True, I don't know, but you're not doing bubbles or anything, right, You're.
- 23:37Speaker 2: Just I did for a season, but not anymore. But
- 23:40Speaker 2: I do use the babies soap now it's very soft.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Did the tear free soap?
- 23:44Speaker 2: I didn't want to call it tear free anymore. I
- 23:45Speaker 2: think that was back in the day.
- 23:48Speaker 5: He's ducky or any toys while you're in there.
- 23:50Speaker 2: The duck is a temperature. It's a thermometer, tell you
- 23:53Speaker 2: hot the water for you, so you always put it.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Didn't know when my water's done. I've used it for
- 23:58Speaker 2: the babies for so long now, and I know when
- 24:00Speaker 2: temperatures right for me too, just goes up to a
- 24:03Speaker 2: higher number. Brandon, how was your father's say?
- 24:06Speaker 5: It was great, Messy just scored by the way. Oh really, yeah,
- 24:10Speaker 5: it was great.
- 24:11Speaker 1: Man. I woke up. She they let me sleep in.
- 24:16Speaker 5: They went and they were painting pictures and just you know,
- 24:20Speaker 5: trying to be as quiet as possible. And I woke
- 24:22Speaker 5: up and they got me this gift. Uh River played
- 24:26Speaker 5: uh flag football this season, and I'm a huge sports
- 24:30Speaker 5: card collector, and they got me this like in case,
- 24:35Speaker 5: like like you know, a PSA ten type thing, but
- 24:38Speaker 5: it was grated card.
- 24:39Speaker 1: It was a graded card.
- 24:40Speaker 5: It was his football card, and it had like a
- 24:43Speaker 5: description on the back of like all of the things
- 24:46Speaker 5: that he did, like because he wasn't that great this season.
- 24:50Speaker 5: But it was just like the coolest, the coolest gift,
- 24:53Speaker 5: Like I can keep that forever and.
- 24:55Speaker 1: That's cool all that stuff.
- 24:56Speaker 2: Did your wife get you a gift or anything?
- 24:57Speaker 3: Yeah, I was just about to say, I guess I
- 24:58Speaker 3: didn't say that she got me it to me before
- 25:00Speaker 3: she left for her trip. She got me my favorite
- 25:03Speaker 3: bottle of bourbon, which which is Blatant, which is a
- 25:07Speaker 3: nice bottle.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Is it expensive?
- 25:08Speaker 5: Really nice?
- 25:09Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it's anywhere from one hundred and twenty to
- 25:12Speaker 3: two hundred dollars. So she got me a bottle of that,
- 25:15Speaker 3: and she got me a like a big old plate
- 25:17Speaker 3: and it says Dad's grilled plate on it, like a
- 25:20Speaker 3: big old meat plate that you put your take your
- 25:22Speaker 3: meat off of, and it's got one of their hands
- 25:24Speaker 3: is like a cheeseburger, and then one of their foots
- 25:27Speaker 3: is a hot dog in between two ones and stuff. Yeah,
- 25:29Speaker 3: so she did those two things, and uh, it was awesome, man.
- 25:33Speaker 3: I mean that Blatant alone is just perfect.
- 25:35Speaker 1: What did you get anything new shoes?
- 25:39Speaker 4: Oh?
- 25:42Speaker 1: I mean I like these awns or whatever. And my
- 25:44Speaker 1: other ones are so dirty they're awns right on clouds.
- 25:47Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, it's so funny.
- 25:48Speaker 3: I was looking at your dirty ones the other day.
- 25:50Speaker 2: I was like, dang, I know, I thought that no, no,
- 25:53Speaker 2: these are brand new, are they knew? The same color?
- 25:55Speaker 1: Like same shoe, no, different kind, different kind of shoe,
- 25:58Speaker 1: different color. And I had been thinking like, oh, I
- 26:01Speaker 1: probably need new shoes. And that's the best when you're
- 26:04Speaker 1: just thinking it and then you get it for Father's Day.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Yeah that's cool.
- 26:08Speaker 2: Yeah, my wife got me because you know, we're building
- 26:12Speaker 2: some studios and you know, one of those sets that
- 26:15Speaker 2: we have is like all the retro stuff. But she
- 26:17Speaker 2: got me a seatback from Wriglear Phil that Mark Gray signed,
- 26:20Speaker 2: who's like my favorite ball player. So she got me that.
- 26:23Speaker 2: And then she got me a shirt that the catering
- 26:26Speaker 2: crew had during when they made the movie Man on
- 26:28Speaker 2: the Moon.
- 26:30Speaker 1: No, No, what do you mean the catering Like it's
- 26:32Speaker 1: something they had to wear.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Yeah, that's cool. So it's like says the name of
- 26:35Speaker 2: the movie and the and it's like the catering company
- 26:38Speaker 2: and it was only the catering. That's crazy.
- 26:40Speaker 3: Yeah that's only what I don't know, But that's cool.
- 26:44Speaker 2: I only have like five things I like, and so
- 26:47Speaker 2: that's two of the five things.
- 26:49Speaker 1: That's a big Father's Day. Yeah. So yeah, imagine next
- 26:52Speaker 1: next year.
- 26:53Speaker 2: I can't do that. Mark Mark Grace himself comes in
- 26:57Speaker 2: right that. All right, we're gonna talk soccer in just
- 27:00Speaker 2: one second. What somebody who actually knows what they're talking about?
- 27:04Speaker 6: It?
- 27:04Speaker 1: Thank god?
- 27:05Speaker 6: Instead of US.
- 27:06Speaker 2: Hold on, hey, we're gonna bring in Taylor Twelman, Now,
- 27:10Speaker 2: who knows US men's national team better than anybody else
- 27:13Speaker 2: every angle as a former national team player, one of
- 27:16Speaker 2: the best goal scorers in MLS history, and now one
- 27:19Speaker 2: of the most recognizable voices covering American soccer. Taylor really
- 27:23Speaker 2: appreciate it. Now. My first question as a I'm gonna
- 27:26Speaker 2: say casual, but I'm really trying hard, and I try
- 27:28Speaker 2: hard every Olympics and every World Cup is how good
- 27:33Speaker 2: are we versus how weak is our group?
- 27:37Speaker 7: I like the way you phrased that. I think when
- 27:39Speaker 7: the group, let's start with the group. When the group
- 27:42Speaker 7: was announced in you knew Turkey A was the third group.
- 27:48Speaker 7: I thought it was a little disingenuous that everybody said
- 27:51Speaker 7: it was an easy group.
- 27:52Speaker 4: I thought it was a favorable group.
- 27:53Speaker 7: Now insane that you could argue that Turkey is probably
- 27:57Speaker 7: top two or three biggest disappointments the World.
- 28:00Speaker 4: Cup up to this point.
- 28:01Speaker 7: I thought they would be the most difficult opponent for
- 28:03Speaker 7: the United States, and yet here we are where the
- 28:06Speaker 7: final group stage game, Turkeys not even They've already been eliminated,
- 28:11Speaker 7: and the United States has already won the group, so
- 28:14Speaker 7: shows you how much I know.
- 28:16Speaker 4: I think the United States is good. I do.
- 28:19Speaker 7: Now you're asking me, as an American, where we sit
- 28:22Speaker 7: there and say, well, yeah, or are we good enough
- 28:25Speaker 7: to win the tournament? And that's where this gets a
- 28:27Speaker 7: little interesting. If you look at the history of the
- 28:29Speaker 7: World Cup, what is it eight nine countries that have
- 28:32Speaker 7: won in two of those countries one before there was
- 28:35Speaker 7: even twelve teams in the tournament. So you got to
- 28:38Speaker 7: look at this and always say, there's the five countries
- 28:41Speaker 7: that everybody's chasing, maybe six, fine, all of that, and
- 28:45Speaker 7: then everybody else kind of operates in this pool of
- 28:48Speaker 7: can you be different? There was a lot of pressure
- 28:51Speaker 7: on this group to do something of real magnitude. Now,
- 28:54Speaker 7: in my opinion, they haven't done it yet. But the
- 28:58Speaker 7: way they beat Paraguay I got everyone's attention very quickly
- 29:03Speaker 7: of saying, hang on a minute. Not only did we
- 29:06Speaker 7: win the game, but we won the game with real
- 29:09Speaker 7: style and real purpose and a swagger. And then to
- 29:13Speaker 7: beat Australia in a completely different way, that's where I
- 29:18Speaker 7: tend to lean up saying, hang on, this group may
- 29:20Speaker 7: be really good. Now, they haven't been really tested yet.
- 29:24Speaker 7: They will be, but by winning the group. I want
- 29:27Speaker 7: your listeners and viewers to understand this. They only play
- 29:31Speaker 7: a third place team now coming out of the knockout
- 29:33Speaker 7: stage first game, and then that sets them up into
- 29:36Speaker 7: not playing a top eight team of the world until
- 29:39Speaker 7: the quarterfinals. So I've said it when the tournament started,
- 29:43Speaker 7: I said it eight months before it quarterfinals are busted,
- 29:46Speaker 7: and it's kind of trending that way.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Sometimes on Apple I'll watch Messi play because he's playing MLS,
- 29:52Speaker 2: and so in my mind, you only come play MLS
- 29:55Speaker 2: either big, big, big check or you know, maybe it's hey,
- 30:00Speaker 2: you know, he didn't want to play against the competition.
- 30:01Speaker 2: He might be slowing down a half step. That's my
- 30:03Speaker 2: American mind. Now I'm watching him score like crazy. Has
- 30:06Speaker 2: Messi lost a half step or is he still awesome?
- 30:08Speaker 7: No, I actually argue he's gained a half step because
- 30:12Speaker 7: he's smart. He's just a genius. Everyone else is doing addition, subtraction.
- 30:17Speaker 7: He's doing multiplication and division. It's just it's operating at
- 30:21Speaker 7: a different level.
- 30:22Speaker 4: Now.
- 30:22Speaker 7: I appreciate that American view of MLS, but that was
- 30:27Speaker 7: when I played, and I'm.
- 30:30Speaker 4: Not that old.
- 30:31Speaker 7: But MLS over the last six years has grown exponentially.
- 30:34Speaker 7: They've sold over two hundred and fifty million dollars worth
- 30:37Speaker 7: the players. They've bought two hundred and fifty million dollars
- 30:40Speaker 7: with the players. And now that they changed the schedule,
- 30:42Speaker 7: I need you to understand, they're going to make twenty
- 30:45Speaker 7: to twenty five percent more money on their departures and
- 30:48Speaker 7: they're not gonna have to spend as much because they're
- 30:50Speaker 7: lining themselves with the top five to six leagues in
- 30:54Speaker 7: the world. When Messi came to Major League Soccer, everyone said,
- 30:59Speaker 7: this is him. He's waving the white flag. And I've
- 31:04Speaker 7: lived it. I've called eighty percent of his games. It's
- 31:07Speaker 7: the first time in his professional career that he's led
- 31:10Speaker 7: World Cup qualifying and goal scorer.
- 31:12Speaker 4: That's after he came to MLS.
- 31:14Speaker 7: He's now the oldest player to ever score a hat
- 31:16Speaker 7: trick in the World Cup.
- 31:17Speaker 4: After he came to MLS, he's now the all time leading.
- 31:22Speaker 7: Goalscorer in the World Cup tied. Eventually, he's gonna get there.
- 31:24Speaker 7: You and I both know he's gonna score more goals
- 31:26Speaker 7: in the World Cup. That's after he came to MLS.
- 31:29Speaker 7: Rodrigo de Paul, who had the first assists for Messi.
- 31:32Speaker 7: Great ball MLS. MLS has forty five players in this
- 31:36Speaker 7: World Cup. I don't think that narrative has talked about enough.
- 31:41Speaker 7: That is top five most in the world for leagues represented.
- 31:45Speaker 7: So there's been this week and listen, I'm not listen.
- 31:49Speaker 7: I work for MLS. I call MLS games I have
- 31:52Speaker 7: for sixteen years. I will always defend it, but I
- 31:55Speaker 7: also will listen to that narrative. That narrative is outdated
- 32:00Speaker 7: because of what Messi has done, but more so with
- 32:02Speaker 7: the owners than everyone has done over the last five years,
- 32:05Speaker 7: and that's only going to improve after the World Cup.
- 32:08Speaker 4: Lottime has talked about.
- 32:09Speaker 7: Major League Soccer in his time here, but even now
- 32:12Speaker 7: a lot of time will say the league that he left,
- 32:15Speaker 7: which was what twenty one, twenty two, it's changed four
- 32:20Speaker 7: years later, it's changed. A lot of that's because Messi's
- 32:22Speaker 7: come here, He's brought Rodrigo de Paul and now they've got,
- 32:25Speaker 7: you know, players all over the world representing their countries
- 32:29Speaker 7: also playing domestically in MLS.
- 32:32Speaker 2: It was a big news story just all across sports
- 32:35Speaker 2: when we changed coaches and so yes, so, how how
- 32:39Speaker 2: much of an impact does a coach actually make on
- 32:41Speaker 2: the national team.
- 32:43Speaker 4: Buddy, that's a great question. You and I could do
- 32:45Speaker 4: an entire show on that.
- 32:46Speaker 7: I I'm not gonna say they don't make a ton,
- 32:50Speaker 7: but they're not with the players every single day. So
- 32:53Speaker 7: the Jurgen klop effect with Liverpool, the Pep Guardiola effect
- 32:57Speaker 7: with Barcelona, Byron in City, that's very hard to do.
- 33:03Speaker 4: It's really difficult to do.
- 33:05Speaker 7: You're not with the players day in and day out,
- 33:07Speaker 7: you're not seeing tendencies. It's difficult to really impactfully change
- 33:12Speaker 7: a game tactically. Now you've got to manage personalities. You're
- 33:16Speaker 7: bringing in twenty six players that all believe they're one
- 33:19Speaker 7: of the best players, if not the best player of
- 33:22Speaker 7: their club team. How do you fit that within a
- 33:24Speaker 7: national team. Looking Roberto Martinez right now Portugal, he's got
- 33:28Speaker 7: a real dilemma on how to manage Ronaldo and his expectations,
- 33:32Speaker 7: even though.
- 33:32Speaker 4: Father times knocking out on the door. It's a great question.
- 33:36Speaker 7: I'm not saying coaches and managers don't impact the game.
- 33:39Speaker 7: It's just way different than what we see at the
- 33:42Speaker 7: club level. And in saying that, Pochatino has pushed.
- 33:45Speaker 4: All the right buttons so good on him.
- 33:48Speaker 7: I've been very critical of Pochatino in the last two
- 33:52Speaker 7: international breaks going into the World Cup because I thought
- 33:55Speaker 7: he had missed the opportunity to see who is better
- 34:00Speaker 7: eleven was to see what system works.
- 34:02Speaker 4: And yet he used those games against.
- 34:04Speaker 7: Belgium and Portugal in particular to see that he has
- 34:08Speaker 7: potentially an option to play Alex Freeman as a right
- 34:12Speaker 7: center back that can transform into a right back in there.
- 34:15Speaker 7: So I got that one wrong. He's done a very
- 34:19Speaker 7: good job. But I don't want your listeners to think
- 34:22Speaker 7: that you can change a team the way Pep Guardiola
- 34:25Speaker 7: does tactically and stylistically. It's just impossible to do that
- 34:29Speaker 7: at the international level.
- 34:31Speaker 2: In this next game where there is no benefit to
- 34:33Speaker 2: us if we win, we've already won our group. Do
- 34:36Speaker 2: we play anybody that is actually going to play the
- 34:40Speaker 2: next game or do we just or do you want
- 34:42Speaker 2: to play? Let's say some of the guys that are
- 34:44Speaker 2: starters or that do they want to play.
- 34:46Speaker 4: They always want to play.
- 34:47Speaker 7: But that is a real good conversation right now, because
- 34:51Speaker 7: I've seen some ex players say no, no, no, you
- 34:54Speaker 7: need to play. I'm gonna tell you right now, unequivocally,
- 34:57Speaker 7: you do not play a single player that's on a
- 34:59Speaker 7: yellow card.
- 35:00Speaker 4: Not a single player because if.
- 35:01Speaker 7: They get a second yellow in the final group stage game,
- 35:04Speaker 7: even though yellow cards wipe out, if you are suspended,
- 35:09Speaker 7: that carries over. So you don't play anyone that's on
- 35:12Speaker 7: a yellow And right now I'm telling you it's Anthony Robbinson,
- 35:14Speaker 7: it's Chris Richards, it's Tyler Adams that I'm forgetting the
- 35:18Speaker 7: fourth but oh it's Florian Belligan. No, you don't play
- 35:21Speaker 7: any any of those four. You also don't touch Christian Ballistic.
- 35:26Speaker 7: What do you gain out of playing him versus what
- 35:31Speaker 7: do you lose if he reinjures the calf? You've just
- 35:34Speaker 7: cut off your nose despite your face. Wait, no, no,
- 35:39Speaker 7: So in my professional opinion, I'm not touching anyone. The
- 35:43Speaker 7: other reason why And nobody's talking about this, Butchettino, I'd argue,
- 35:48Speaker 7: if there's any criticism he hasn't used this subs in
- 35:51Speaker 7: a right way, particularly the Australian game with tire legs
- 35:53Speaker 7: and all that. Does he fully know on his substitute
- 35:58Speaker 7: bench who he can count on in the knockout stage.
- 36:01Speaker 7: You'll get an answer against Turkey, and so I would
- 36:04Speaker 7: play an eleven. That gives him an idea of who's ready,
- 36:08Speaker 7: who's available, who's playing at a high level, who's ready
- 36:10Speaker 7: for the moment, all of that, because once you get
- 36:13Speaker 7: in the knockout stage, there could be a suspension, there
- 36:15Speaker 7: could be an injury.
- 36:16Speaker 4: So you got to have those answers.
- 36:18Speaker 7: I would use the game as a training exercise absolutely,
- 36:21Speaker 7: whether you win three, no or loose three no, it
- 36:23Speaker 7: doesn't matter.
- 36:24Speaker 2: Is there a rest versus rust argument in soccer like
- 36:27Speaker 2: there is football?
- 36:29Speaker 7: Sorry, let me rephrase that, yes, but not here. These players,
- 36:34Speaker 7: particularly coming from Europe, are coming off long seasons. Chris
- 36:40Speaker 7: Richards has just debunked that theory because he didn't play
- 36:43Speaker 7: twenty six days before the tournament. La Mignamal didn't play
- 36:47Speaker 7: since April twenty third or twenty second, whatever the date was.
- 36:51Speaker 7: And how is his first two games? How were his
- 36:53Speaker 7: first two games? So no, they're training, they're getting into fitness.
- 36:58Speaker 7: All of that now, the Russ versus rest. Sure, Levin
- 37:02Speaker 7: Nemal might not be ninety minutes fit, but he's gonna
- 37:06Speaker 7: get there. Chris Richards, who knows if he was, but
- 37:09Speaker 7: he's shown himself for the first two games in a
- 37:11Speaker 7: positive light. No, I don't see that, And quite honestly,
- 37:16Speaker 7: the MLS guys are fully fit.
- 37:18Speaker 4: They're chopping at the bit.
- 37:19Speaker 7: They've had that right, so they've gotten after this and
- 37:23Speaker 7: they're in the middle of their season. I don't think
- 37:25Speaker 7: fitness is a question, and I just think you get
- 37:27Speaker 7: real answers for some of your questions on who's ready
- 37:31Speaker 7: for the knockout stage when you've given yourself a gift
- 37:34Speaker 7: of winning the group two games.
- 37:36Speaker 2: In maybe a little patriotic bias here, but are we
- 37:39Speaker 2: kind of dominating at hosting?
- 37:41Speaker 7: Oh yeah, man, it's great. You're also asking a very
- 37:46Speaker 7: patriotic person itself. It's crazy how the conversation leading into
- 37:49Speaker 7: this was so negative and then every game I turn on,
- 37:52Speaker 7: I'm like the abduligent.
- 37:53Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:53Speaker 7: See, here's the thing about the United States that, for
- 37:59Speaker 7: whatever reason, the rest of the world doesn't fully understand
- 38:03Speaker 7: how we do this. And this is being just honest.
- 38:06Speaker 7: We do big events all the time, all the time.
- 38:10Speaker 7: We have the infrastructure, we have the cities, we have
- 38:13Speaker 7: the fans, we have the attention span. This is what
- 38:17Speaker 7: we do. So, yeah, you want to kick off a
- 38:20Speaker 7: World Cup in the middle of the NBA Finals and
- 38:22Speaker 7: Stanley Cup and the US Open. Sure we got you
- 38:26Speaker 7: all good, We've got you covered, and we're and we're
- 38:28Speaker 7: gonna be all in. So this narrative that a month
- 38:32Speaker 7: before the World Cup, there's no buzz, nobody's into it.
- 38:36Speaker 7: How's the first ten days go?
- 38:38Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 38:38Speaker 2: Pretty amazing. It Also, it feels like Canada and Mexico
- 38:41Speaker 2: are just kind of hosting, like they're just kind of
- 38:43Speaker 2: they they're satellite hosting, right, Like they're not really hosting.
- 38:45Speaker 2: We are, I.
- 38:47Speaker 4: It's I don't know.
- 38:49Speaker 7: Those two Mexican home games were really really good. Now
- 38:54Speaker 7: are they hosting in ten cities or eight cities whatever
- 38:57Speaker 7: their number is?
- 38:58Speaker 1: No?
- 38:58Speaker 7: So the you're one hundred percent correct, But the home
- 39:02Speaker 7: field advantage for Canada and Mexico. I can't sit here
- 39:05Speaker 7: and look at your camera and I can't sit here
- 39:06Speaker 7: with a mic on and say they're not really hosting
- 39:08Speaker 7: because those two atmospheres for both countries, those four games
- 39:12Speaker 7: in particular were really strong.
- 39:15Speaker 2: What are we hoping for as far as where these
- 39:18Speaker 2: teams land to get a good bracket? In what sense
- 39:23Speaker 2: do we want to play like Bosnia and then Iran?
- 39:26Speaker 2: Like I'm just looking at the possibilities, because right now
- 39:30Speaker 2: we're somewhat guessing before this last match, like what are
- 39:33Speaker 2: we rooting for happens that probably can happen.
- 39:37Speaker 4: We already got what we were rooting for.
- 39:39Speaker 7: So the only thing you asked for in a forty
- 39:42Speaker 7: eighteen tournament, which is now the case no longer thirty two,
- 39:47Speaker 7: is the United States needed to win their group. It
- 39:49Speaker 7: was imperative, and I said that because you do give
- 39:53Speaker 7: yourself the best runway to it. The opponents doesn't matter
- 39:56Speaker 7: at this point in my opinion, because you're a first
- 39:59Speaker 7: place team and you're playing a third place qualifier, So
- 40:03Speaker 7: that in and of itself in round to thirty two
- 40:05Speaker 7: sets yourself up and because of that, you're then playing
- 40:09Speaker 7: a second place qualifier in that winner. So this is
- 40:13Speaker 7: what you wanted. You wanted to avoid because the United
- 40:17Speaker 7: States men have only won one knockout stage since nineteen
- 40:20Speaker 7: ninety and that game was against Mexico, which was a
- 40:23Speaker 7: known opponent. Every other knockout game they've been up against it.
- 40:27Speaker 7: I'm not sitting here saying they're going to run away
- 40:29Speaker 7: with the knockout games, but the way the brackets lined out,
- 40:33Speaker 7: in my opinion, the opponent.
- 40:34Speaker 4: Don matter.
- 40:35Speaker 7: You're playing a third place qualifier, then a winner of
- 40:37Speaker 7: two second place teams, and you don't have to play
- 40:40Speaker 7: a top eight team in the world until the quarterfinals.
- 40:44Speaker 7: That's exactly what you wanted. Now you've got it. Can
- 40:47Speaker 7: you do the business and get to that quarterfinal?
- 40:50Speaker 4: That's the question.
- 40:52Speaker 2: I see Twitter kind of beating up Alexi Lawless. How
- 40:55Speaker 2: do you feel like he's doing as an analyst?
- 40:58Speaker 7: Listen, I've known Alexi for a long time. We played
- 41:00Speaker 7: against each other when I first started in media. He
- 41:03Speaker 7: was a colleague of mine and a real close friend
- 41:06Speaker 7: and has remained that way since then. There is a
- 41:10Speaker 7: part of me that thinks he is being criticized just
- 41:13Speaker 7: because he is the redheaded American next to him. But
- 41:18Speaker 7: I also know Alexi very well. He wants the criticism.
- 41:22Speaker 7: He loves this criticism. This is how he wants it
- 41:26Speaker 7: because this is how he has operated in the media.
- 41:30Speaker 7: So it's Laton and Henri and everybody else want to
- 41:33Speaker 7: poke fun at him and get after him. I don't
- 41:36Speaker 7: really don't think it bothers him because this is kind
- 41:39Speaker 7: of who he is. He hates the analogies of Skip
- 41:42Speaker 7: Bayless and Stephen A. Smith, and yet I used to
- 41:44Speaker 7: remind him all the time. But that's how you act,
- 41:47Speaker 7: that's who you are. Those are the opinions that you give.
- 41:51Speaker 7: But this narrative that he wasn't a player. He played
- 41:56Speaker 7: in Syria during a time when nobody did from the
- 42:00Speaker 7: United States at the time when Siril was the number
- 42:03Speaker 7: one league in the world. So you can miss me
- 42:07Speaker 7: with that aspect that stuff. No, but he taught me
- 42:11Speaker 7: better than anyone. Fifty percent of media is going to
- 42:14Speaker 7: like you, fifty percent is not going to like you.
- 42:17Speaker 7: Probably he taught me that because calling a game, one
- 42:20Speaker 7: team's winning, one team's losing. I just feel like right
- 42:24Speaker 7: now a lot of people are questioning Alexi laws and
- 42:28Speaker 7: what he's done in the media, and I feel like,
- 42:31Speaker 7: if you gave him any truth here and me look
- 42:33Speaker 7: at you and say, yeah, this is kind of who
- 42:35Speaker 7: I am and what I wanted as.
- 42:37Speaker 2: A as an educated casual. I really like him, which
- 42:40Speaker 2: is why I'm so confused by everybody going after him
- 42:43Speaker 2: so hard on social media. I enjoy it because I
- 42:45Speaker 2: need him to be like he is to further explain
- 42:48Speaker 2: how I should even feel at times.
- 42:50Speaker 7: You also got to remember, though, in most of America
- 42:54Speaker 7: were used to that type of media and that type
- 42:57Speaker 7: of the way he articulates his his his feelings and
- 43:01Speaker 7: his opinions, and so a lot of us are like, Yeah,
- 43:04Speaker 7: that's kind of what we have in the media.
- 43:07Speaker 4: We can do that in the media.
- 43:09Speaker 7: The rest of the world it's a little more subdued,
- 43:14Speaker 7: a little more nuanced. Is the lack of a It's
- 43:17Speaker 7: a terrible word here, because I'm not saying alexis not nuanced.
- 43:20Speaker 7: But the way Alexi's going to give you his opinion,
- 43:23Speaker 7: that's how he is. The rest of the world's kind
- 43:25Speaker 7: of like eh. But he's done a ton to grow
- 43:27Speaker 7: this sport. He's been a face of this sport for
- 43:30Speaker 7: a long time. He works hard. I don't care what
- 43:33Speaker 7: anyone tries to tell you. I've seen it, I've lived it.
- 43:37Speaker 7: But I also know he loves this kind of feedback,
- 43:42Speaker 7: in this kind of.
- 43:43Speaker 4: Reaction he always has.
- 43:45Speaker 7: Now, that's where he and I fundamentally, when we work together,
- 43:48Speaker 7: I disagreed. I wanted to talk about tactics. I wanted
- 43:51Speaker 7: to get into the nitty gritty. He wanted to be
- 43:54Speaker 7: more big picture. That's fine, that's the different ways you
- 43:58Speaker 7: can do media. But I just some of these articles
- 44:02Speaker 7: about him as a player. I'm like, it's it's got
- 44:05Speaker 7: to be written by a twenty five to thirty year
- 44:06Speaker 7: old because obviously they didn't do any of their homework.
- 44:09Speaker 2: Final question, what's a win for US? As we watched
- 44:13Speaker 2: the US team as at eight sixteen, like, where do
- 44:16Speaker 2: we get to?
- 44:16Speaker 4: Where we go? Man?
- 44:17Speaker 2: We are really growing? And quarterfinals? Okay, so what's the quarterfinals?
- 44:21Speaker 2: No doubt?
- 44:22Speaker 7: Eight, no doubt. And I didn't mean to cut you
- 44:23Speaker 7: off there, but it's a great question. And here's why.
- 44:27Speaker 7: Because you don't know who you're playing at that point.
- 44:29Speaker 7: And at that point you ask the forty eight countries
- 44:32Speaker 7: that participated, would you take a quarterfinal berth All of
- 44:36Speaker 7: them with the exception of maybe France, Spain and Brazil
- 44:38Speaker 7: would say yes absolutely, and so because then that's where
- 44:44Speaker 7: the brackets play out, and you know you're going up
- 44:46Speaker 7: against the best in the world, and that's where you
- 44:49Speaker 7: just see your chips funt listen. Two thousand and two,
- 44:52Speaker 7: if var was around, we beat Germany, we win that
- 44:55Speaker 7: game because that was one hundred percent a handball from
- 44:57Speaker 7: tours and frings. So that's the only time the United
- 45:01Speaker 7: States men have been there because of the Paraguay win,
- 45:05Speaker 7: you got the attention of the general sports fan in
- 45:08Speaker 7: the United States because not only was there substance in
- 45:11Speaker 7: the victory, there was real style and there was an energy.
- 45:15Speaker 7: That's how you have to win. Now, round to thirty two,
- 45:19Speaker 7: then round to sixteen, and then you've got the entire
- 45:22Speaker 7: country behind you, and then you're playing with house money
- 45:24Speaker 7: in my opinion, because whoever up, whoever you're going against,
- 45:29Speaker 7: you're the underdog. And that's kind of where the United
- 45:31Speaker 7: States in this instance loves to be.
- 45:35Speaker 2: Taylor, really appreciate the time. You're great on Apple. I
- 45:37Speaker 2: love when you go on rich Rich Eisen Show too,
- 45:39Speaker 2: because I don't skip it and sometimes I'm like, I
- 45:41Speaker 2: don't know enough about soccer. I never skip your heads
- 45:43Speaker 2: over on Eisen, So I really appreciate the time and
- 45:46Speaker 2: kind of walking us through this. Hope you have a
- 45:48Speaker 2: great day in USA, USA. Thanks Taylor, dude.
- 45:50Speaker 7: I appreciate you having me and by the way, you
- 45:52Speaker 7: are growing the sport more than any of us talking
- 45:54Speaker 7: the sport to your followers.
- 45:56Speaker 2: Thank you, Taylor, have a great day all right, before
- 45:59Speaker 2: we go, are you are you betting on games? Aren't
- 46:03Speaker 2: America Okay, yes, dude, percent, but you don't know enough
- 46:09Speaker 2: about it.
- 46:09Speaker 1: If I don't know, like if it's like Ivory Coast versus.
- 46:13Speaker 2: That's all the games except for the American No.
- 46:15Speaker 1: I don't know. If you got Spain, plane, if you
- 46:17Speaker 1: got France, you got the big dogs playing, like, yes,
- 46:20Speaker 1: bet on the number of goals, because those guys like
- 46:22Speaker 1: to score a lot. But if I don't know the
- 46:24Speaker 1: country or they're smaller, plane iran.
- 46:27Speaker 2: Draw draw, draw, Oh you bet to draw?
- 46:29Speaker 1: Oh yeah, because the return on the draw is so good.
- 46:31Speaker 2: Well, what's interesting about that is you can bet the
- 46:33Speaker 2: money lines. But it's like I say, America minus one sixty,
- 46:36Speaker 2: Australia plus two twenty draw plus three hundred, so you
- 46:40Speaker 2: have three there.
- 46:41Speaker 1: You know, there's an option to just do win or
- 46:43Speaker 1: lose with no draw, but the odds aren't as good.
- 46:46Speaker 2: So if it's a draw, then it's just a push.
- 46:48Speaker 1: Yes, correct, but again they're the odds aren't great.
- 46:54Speaker 2: I'd probably do that though.
- 46:55Speaker 1: Because that draw really messed up.
- 46:59Speaker 3: I don't like draw, no, especially a tournament this big.
- 47:03Speaker 1: But I mean they're not trying to draw guys, I
- 47:04Speaker 1: mean they're just they're trying to score that.
- 47:07Speaker 2: You know this. This is the first World Cup ever
- 47:10Speaker 2: where they haven't done gold differential, so it's just head
- 47:13Speaker 2: to head. Used to be, you know scenario than they
- 47:15Speaker 2: would do go if it was a tie, it was
- 47:17Speaker 2: a gold differential. Oh yeah, okay, but now you've americanized it,
- 47:20Speaker 2: which I'm happy with. If American, I'll show you're either not.
- 47:24Speaker 2: If they're even they say they're both three and one,
- 47:27Speaker 2: they play four games, right or three games they play three? Yeah,
- 47:30Speaker 2: let's say they're both two and one. Then you don't
- 47:32Speaker 2: go to gold differential, you go to who beat who?
- 47:35Speaker 3: Yeah, which makes sense.
- 47:36Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what they're doing this time. But a lot
- 47:37Speaker 2: of the hardcore soccer people like that's stupid, makes these
- 47:40Speaker 2: third round games not important?
- 47:42Speaker 3: Well, win your games, yeah, when you already did your
- 47:46Speaker 3: your job, won the first two games.
- 47:47Speaker 2: When your games they as we just talked about, they're
- 47:50Speaker 2: going to play scrubs. I guess in the World Cup.
- 47:52Speaker 2: Maybe we can get in.
- 47:54Speaker 1: Cool.
- 47:54Speaker 2: They don't even send their team, the American team. It's us, dude.
- 47:58Speaker 1: Do you know how much they run?
- 48:00Speaker 2: Like gosh, I would die on the field and someone
- 48:04Speaker 2: almost has twice.
- 48:05Speaker 1: Oh well yeah, that guy Denmark. Hey, speaking of, do
- 48:08Speaker 1: you ever watch the crowds like of all these other
- 48:10Speaker 1: countries and be like, do we're lame in America?
- 48:13Speaker 2: No, because I compared to etc. Football.
- 48:16Speaker 1: Yeah, but even sec like, they're not jumping up and down.
- 48:20Speaker 1: They get excited and they yell. But man, these other
- 48:22Speaker 1: countries the whole game jumping up and down. I'm like, gosh,
- 48:26Speaker 1: they have like a different idea of going to a game.
- 48:30Speaker 2: You know, what I would think is that we don't
- 48:31Speaker 2: really have something as a country that we root for
- 48:34Speaker 2: as passionately as each of these countries do. Soccer, because
- 48:37Speaker 2: what do we have country wide that's a team that
- 48:41Speaker 2: we would show up for and do this?
- 48:44Speaker 3: You're right, yeah, the only thing I can think of
- 48:45Speaker 3: is basketball. But even then I'm like, well he plays
- 48:48Speaker 3: on the Lakers. I hate him.
- 48:49Speaker 2: Well, all their people that are club players for other countries,
- 48:52Speaker 2: they come together and play for their country. But we don't.
- 48:55Speaker 2: Even then, we don't really care that much because we dominate,
- 48:58Speaker 2: Like we're not passion Yeah right, that's a thing too. Yeah,
- 49:01Speaker 2: So we don't have that. Yeah, that thing that we
- 49:04Speaker 2: root for our country for that we would show up
- 49:07Speaker 2: and go crazy for. That is like the biggest because
- 49:10Speaker 2: basketball isn't even our biggest sport. Yeah, so we don't,
- 49:14Speaker 2: but we don't have that out, that that element of
- 49:17Speaker 2: a national product that we would all get together with
- 49:20Speaker 2: something that we love so much that would make us
- 49:22Speaker 2: cheer like that.
- 49:23Speaker 1: Do you think a lot of these fans are traveling
- 49:25Speaker 1: from their countries or are they already here?
- 49:28Speaker 2: I think probably both, But I think a lot of
- 49:30Speaker 2: traveling because this is it's so weird to say, and
- 49:33Speaker 2: it's such an American cop out thing to say, but
- 49:35Speaker 2: this is their super Bowl.
- 49:37Speaker 3: It's bigger than that.
- 49:38Speaker 2: It's bigger than that for them.
- 49:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 49:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 49:41Speaker 2: So like if your team, let's say, I don't know,
- 49:44Speaker 2: the Patriots weren't the super Bowl and you were in
- 49:45Speaker 2: San Francisco and you were already there, like, of course
- 49:47Speaker 2: you would stay and go to the game. Who wouldn't ye,
- 49:50Speaker 2: who wouldn't do that?
- 49:51Speaker 3: I mean unless you just had this feeling they're going
- 49:53Speaker 3: to get blown out and then they got blown out
- 49:54Speaker 3: and you're happy you didn't spend that money and you're like, yeah,
- 49:57Speaker 3: it's a good decision.
- 49:59Speaker 1: Had that conversation because we drove by the new stadium
- 50:02Speaker 1: and we were like, oh, I tell my kids, like
- 50:03Speaker 1: that's crazy. There's gonna be a super Bowl there, and
- 50:05Speaker 1: they're like, Dad, the Cowboys go like, are we going?
- 50:07Speaker 1: I'm like, WHOA, I don't know. But then I started thinking,
- 50:10Speaker 1: like I have to put it on a credit card,
- 50:12Speaker 1: like I have to.
- 50:13Speaker 2: If the Cowboys go to the super Bowl in Nashville,
- 50:15Speaker 2: how many of your kids? Are you taking four of them?
- 50:18Speaker 2: So you're gonna go, You're get at five tickets?
- 50:20Speaker 1: I think I have to. That's a once in a
- 50:22Speaker 1: lifetime memory.
- 50:23Speaker 2: You mean you'll be out over twenty grands, Like you'll
- 50:27Speaker 2: be out over twenty.
- 50:27Speaker 1: Grand But but I mean I can't do it, Kevin,
- 50:30Speaker 1: and like, just not go.
- 50:32Speaker 2: Well, you cannot take all four of your kids.
- 50:34Speaker 1: Okay, maybe i'd take a couple.
- 50:35Speaker 3: If you were there solo in a different city.
- 50:38Speaker 1: Like I said, a thousand percent no, But I'm.
- 50:40Speaker 3: Just saying with your kids, you're a lot more like
- 50:42Speaker 3: enticed to go to the game too.
- 50:44Speaker 1: Oh No, I would think if our solo, that'd be
- 50:46Speaker 1: a no brainer.
- 50:47Speaker 2: If the Cowboys were in a super Bowl next year
- 50:49Speaker 2: in La, will you go?
- 50:50Speaker 1: We're they're already no.
- 50:51Speaker 2: But just in general, no, I wouldn't go.
- 50:55Speaker 1: Really, I wouldn't fly all the way LA by myself and.
- 50:57Speaker 2: Go to the game Southwest Fight's three hundred fifty bucks.
- 50:59Speaker 1: No, right now, dude, this economy.
- 51:03Speaker 2: So you'd put would you take your wife?
- 51:06Speaker 5: No?
- 51:06Speaker 2: Okay, So five tickets to go to Super Bowl on
- 51:08Speaker 2: your credit card? But if the Cowboys went next your
- 51:10Speaker 2: in LA, you wouldn't go by yourself?
- 51:11Speaker 1: Correct, I wouldn't go. I watch it at home, have
- 51:14Speaker 1: a big party'd be great. But if they're right down
- 51:17Speaker 1: the street and they're playing the Super Bowl, I have
- 51:20Speaker 1: to go.
- 51:20Speaker 3: But five tickets would be more expensive than traveling to
- 51:22Speaker 3: LA and go to the game by yourself.
- 51:23Speaker 1: It's not about that. I just don't want to go
- 51:25Speaker 1: by myself to LA to watch.
- 51:26Speaker 2: No, i'd go with you. I just wouldn't pay for yours.
- 51:28Speaker 2: Oh well then we'll go, but you have to pay
- 51:29Speaker 2: for yours.
- 51:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 51:30Speaker 1: Are we already there?
- 51:31Speaker 4: No?
- 51:33Speaker 1: Why are you going? We're flying together.
- 51:36Speaker 2: You have to pay for your own flight and your
- 51:38Speaker 2: own tickets in your own hotel.
- 51:40Speaker 1: But I'll go with you, so I'm not alone.
- 51:42Speaker 2: You're not alone.
- 51:42Speaker 1: I'm went my best bud and we're gonna go to
- 51:45Speaker 1: the super Bowl.
- 51:46Speaker 2: You have to pay for your own so you're looking
- 51:47Speaker 2: at five grand total? Would you pay that to go
- 51:50Speaker 2: watch the Cowboys Super Bowl?
- 51:53Speaker 1: I can't believe you're thinking.
- 51:55Speaker 2: About home put twenty grand on a credit card because
- 51:57Speaker 2: it's in town.
- 51:58Speaker 1: It's right down down there street.
- 52:00Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I think i'd root for it to
- 52:02Speaker 2: be not down the streets. I'd go for much cheaper.
- 52:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 52:05Speaker 1: But you gotta think of the kids though, like a big,
- 52:08Speaker 1: big one, big reason to take the kids out there
- 52:11Speaker 1: and experience that with the kids.
- 52:14Speaker 2: Yeah, big reason, big number.
- 52:15Speaker 1: Twenty grand, No, I know, but I mean it's more
- 52:18Speaker 1: worth it to take them and experience that together with them.
- 52:21Speaker 2: And take them to LA with us. No, you can,
- 52:25Speaker 2: I'll stay out. You wouldn't go watch the CA I
- 52:28Speaker 2: don't think I would. No, that is crazy. Okay, that's
- 52:31Speaker 2: gonna do it. Everybody good.
- 52:33Speaker 1: That's fun? Yes, what was fun? It's fun talking about
- 52:37Speaker 1: sports man.
- 52:38Speaker 2: I was looking at you a minute ago. You kind
- 52:39Speaker 2: of look like you can use a pink golf bag
- 52:41Speaker 2: with some flowers.
- 52:42Speaker 1: What does that mean?
- 52:43Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 52:44Speaker 1: I just you're insinuating.
- 52:45Speaker 3: Looks like something you would want.
- 52:47Speaker 1: So you.
