- 0:04Speaker 1: Happy Monday people, Happy Rivalry weekend, hangover day, you guys, kid,
- 0:13Speaker 1: that was so exhausting. That was exhausting. That was fun though.
- 0:16Speaker 1: That was entertaining. And we're going to get to what
- 0:19Speaker 1: I think was the most entertaining series. But before that,
- 0:23Speaker 1: the most entertaining gimmick occurred in the Royals Cardinals series
- 0:29Speaker 1: in Saint Louis a j Did you like that? Would
- 0:32Speaker 1: you be a fan of that? The tarps off section
- 0:34Speaker 1: that Ali Marmol was funding.
- 0:37Speaker 2: You know, I thought it was great. I thought it
- 0:38Speaker 2: was cool that the random kids showed up there and
- 0:41Speaker 2: did it, and then the crowd got bigger and bigger
- 0:42Speaker 2: each day. I thought it was great. I thought Ali
- 0:44Speaker 2: Marmele jumping in was awesome, bringing the couple, bringing a
- 0:47Speaker 2: few of them into the stands, and you know, I
- 0:49Speaker 2: mean there's a lot of people there except for in
- 0:50Speaker 2: this section. So you heard all the players talk about it,
- 0:54Speaker 2: saying how it was one of the most exciting times
- 0:57Speaker 2: of their big league career. I think it's great. The
- 1:00Speaker 2: Cardinals are playing well, the fans from Texas apparently are
- 1:03Speaker 2: behind them, and then you get all these young kids
- 1:06Speaker 2: jumping around their shirt saw bringing excitement in the park.
- 1:08Speaker 2: What's not to like about this grat I mean, yeah,
- 1:17Speaker 2: your shirts are all let's make sure it stays a
- 1:19Speaker 2: male section male only. Girls can have like a big
- 1:24Speaker 2: hat section. But to be a club baseball player, to
- 1:30Speaker 2: be a you know, just a fan of baseball, and
- 1:33Speaker 2: then you get an opportunity to do exactly what they're
- 1:35Speaker 2: doing when they're in the clubhouse there, you know, rubbing
- 1:39Speaker 2: elbows with Cardinals players who aren't really that much older them.
- 1:43Speaker 2: This is a really young team, Like, that's the experience
- 1:46Speaker 2: of a lifetime. They'll be Cardinals fans forever if they
- 1:50Speaker 2: weren't already.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Such a different vibe when you can get that kind
- 1:54Speaker 1: of energy. We've talked about this a lot age that
- 1:57Speaker 1: you can't get that energy daily in our sport unless
- 2:01Speaker 1: you hire those kids to just come to every game.
- 2:04Speaker 2: No, they're not gonna do that, aren't they were they
- 2:06Speaker 2: club baseball players or something. So even it was super
- 2:09Speaker 2: cool that Ali did this, and maybe it can become
- 2:12Speaker 2: like a section or a thing for the Cardinals for
- 2:15Speaker 2: the rest of the year. Every team always wants a
- 2:16Speaker 2: rallying cry. Maybe this is the one for the Cardinals.
- 2:19Speaker 1: And many teams are good at this what was it?
- 2:24Speaker 1: What was Felix Ornandez's little area. It's been a minute now,
- 2:28Speaker 1: remember King King's Court, King's Court, King's Court. They've got
- 2:34Speaker 1: others too for people out there. So when they do
- 2:37Speaker 1: create those situations, it's cool. It often happens with starting pitchers,
- 2:42Speaker 1: so you get it. How many times does a starting
- 2:45Speaker 1: pitcher start a game at home during the year fifteen.
- 2:48Speaker 1: It's just through the whole thing.
- 2:50Speaker 3: Yeah, Padillas Flotilla went South Asano. They had South Pals in.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Philly. They had some of them.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Some of them pop up, some of them pop up,
- 3:04Speaker 3: and they're a little gimmicky, but you know the ones,
- 3:07Speaker 3: the ones that really hit and are big, like like
- 3:09Speaker 3: King Felix.
- 3:11Speaker 2: That was cool. I think for a little bit. Julio
- 3:13Speaker 2: had the no fly he still has a no fly zone.
- 3:16Speaker 3: But they were doing some stuff in Seattle, and it
- 3:18Speaker 3: doesn't never it's got to get huge, like King Felix.
- 3:21Speaker 3: They're all had yellow k's and they had crowns sometimes.
- 3:25Speaker 2: It was cool.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Judges Chambers, I mean that's a fixture. Yeah, yeah, that's cool.
- 3:33Speaker 1: So it was fun. Yeah, it was cool story to follow,
- 3:36Speaker 1: and that the team was buying into it as well.
- 3:38Speaker 1: I like when it's both sides there. The fans were
- 3:41Speaker 1: into it, or these students created this college like atmosphere,
- 3:44Speaker 1: and then it was reciprocated with Ali Marmal, who's a
- 3:47Speaker 1: cool has a young feel to him. He feels like
- 3:51Speaker 1: he can connect with a group like that, and he's
- 3:53Speaker 1: got his team playing inspiring ball. Let's get to the
- 3:57Speaker 1: big showdown from the weekend. There were many, but this
- 3:59Speaker 1: one stands out. Charging about what do you have for
- 4:05Speaker 1: us AJ Cubs White Sox was a vibe.
- 4:08Speaker 2: I mean, this is how it used to be when
- 4:10Speaker 2: both teams were trying for so long, one of the
- 4:12Speaker 2: other wasn't trying, and now they're both and I wouldn't
- 4:15Speaker 2: even say the White Sox have really even tried yet.
- 4:17Speaker 2: They're just playing really well. And the city was on
- 4:20Speaker 2: notice and it was awesome to watch. The game yesterday
- 4:22Speaker 2: was crazy three run lead going into the ninth. Confordo
- 4:26Speaker 2: hits a three run homer to tie it, uh and
- 4:28Speaker 2: then ethgar Kiro walks it off. I mean, it was,
- 4:32Speaker 2: it was. It was a good game to watch. It
- 4:34Speaker 2: was a fun game to watch. The whole weekend was fun.
- 4:36Speaker 2: All the games are really good. The crowds were into it.
- 4:39Speaker 2: There was a ton of fights, which I don't condone,
- 4:41Speaker 2: but it always happens in the In the Socks Cubs rivalry,
- 4:45Speaker 2: we saw pie Crow Armstrong say some things to some
- 4:49Speaker 2: some fans in the stands, and you know what, that's him.
- 4:53Speaker 2: But this was how this this series is meant to be.
- 4:56Speaker 2: I tell people, I played Red Sox Yankees, I played
- 4:58Speaker 2: Dodgers Giants, I played Cardinals Cubs. I played in a
- 5:01Speaker 2: lot of the biggest rivalries in MLB, and this one,
- 5:04Speaker 2: to me, those six games that we played were the
- 5:06Speaker 2: closest I ever saw to playing a postseason game in
- 5:09Speaker 2: the regular season when both teams were good and both
- 5:12Speaker 2: teams were really trying. It was. The atmosphere was incredible
- 5:15Speaker 2: and this is the way it should be. I never
- 5:17Speaker 2: believe it. I honestly never believed it. When you said it,
- 5:20Speaker 2: it was like, all right, fine, like your Chicago, your
- 5:23Speaker 2: Chicago dum makes you say that.
- 5:26Speaker 3: I saw it this weekend. I saw what like just
- 5:31Speaker 3: the energy. Yeah, the games were good. You know, they
- 5:33Speaker 3: had the stars Wrikami hits two homers in one game.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Like the guys that were playing that you would think
- 5:42Speaker 3: you wanted to see in this in this rivalry, in
- 5:44Speaker 3: this series did some cool things, and then the Sunday
- 5:47Speaker 3: game was ridiculous to have that much energy, to have
- 5:51Speaker 3: that much in a May middle literally middle of May series,
- 5:56Speaker 3: and had the outcomes the way they were White Sox.
- 6:00Speaker 3: One didn't think the White Sox were gonna win this.
- 6:02Speaker 2: It was.
- 6:03Speaker 3: It was awesome, and I completely disagreed with you, but
- 6:07Speaker 3: I never experienced it, and I think this is something
- 6:10Speaker 3: it's showcased what people need to experience and why teams
- 6:15Speaker 3: need to try.
- 6:16Speaker 2: I get it.
- 6:17Speaker 3: The Cubs are just as to blame as the White Sox.
- 6:20Speaker 3: The Cubs didn't try for a lot of years. Then
- 6:22Speaker 3: the White Sox weren't very good. Whether they were trying
- 6:24Speaker 3: or not, they weren't very good. And now they're both good.
- 6:27Speaker 3: At this point in the year, it was it was
- 6:30Speaker 3: fun to watch.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Some wireless plans can get a little bit crazy, a
- 6:37Speaker 1: little bit off the charts. Expensive Mint Mobile can get
- 6:41Speaker 1: you started with three months of premium wireless four fifteen
- 6:46Speaker 1: bucks a month.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Is it pretty good like that? The way gas prices
- 6:50Speaker 2: are going up, Scott, We've got to keep more mobile
- 6:52Speaker 2: planed down and mint Mobile is your location to keep
- 6:55Speaker 2: your mobile plan down can add family members. You can
- 6:58Speaker 2: do all that for just fifteen bucks a month.

- 7:03Speaker 1: if you like bougie drinks. All plans come with high
- 7:06Speaker 1: speed data and unlimited talk and text delivered on the
- 7:09Speaker 1: nation's largest five G network. If you like your money,
- 7:11Speaker 1: mint mobile is for you. Shot plans at mintmobile dot
- 7:15Speaker 1: com slash territory. That's mintmobile dot com slash territory. Upfront

- 7:25Speaker 1: offer for first three months only, then full price plan
- 7:28Speaker 1: options available, Taxes and fees extra. See mint mobile for
- 7:32Speaker 1: details on the topic of trying. The White Sox signed
- 7:38Speaker 1: Murakami this offseason, and aj I think it's fair to
- 7:43Speaker 1: say that part of it was the rest of baseball
- 7:47Speaker 1: allowing the White Sox to sign him for a rate
- 7:50Speaker 1: like that. I don't think they were going to pay
- 7:52Speaker 1: massive dollars for him. If we could scrap it all
- 7:55Speaker 1: and do it again, things would change. It's a big
- 7:58Speaker 1: part of it. Another couple homers for him on Saturday.
- 8:01Speaker 1: There have been a lot of articles coming out lately
- 8:03Speaker 1: on almost every publication that's covering baseball. Seriously, what happened?
- 8:07Speaker 1: Why the league miss right? Like? So, I was just
- 8:10Speaker 1: reading the one from Sam Blum this morning, for example,
- 8:12Speaker 1: and he's going off of the end zone contact rate
- 8:16Speaker 1: the league said was too low, not hitting velocity. And
- 8:19Speaker 1: then there's you know, scouts quoted essentially saying, I don't
- 8:22Speaker 1: think his defense is going to be able to make
- 8:25Speaker 1: up or his offense is going to be able to
- 8:27Speaker 1: make up for his defensive issues. You know, some in
- 8:30Speaker 1: the league saw him as like a massive liability at
- 8:33Speaker 1: first base. Watch him play. Is he the best first
- 8:37Speaker 1: baseman in the league? Not close? Is he the worst
- 8:39Speaker 1: first baseman in the league? Not close. He looks fine,
- 8:44Speaker 1: average good, forty homers and average defense at first base
- 8:49Speaker 1: is worth more than what the White Sox paid for.
- 8:52Speaker 1: And to me, the reason I'm bringing this up again,
- 8:54Speaker 1: aj is I just think it's changed the complexion of
- 8:57Speaker 1: the organization. It sparked things a little more. It's somebody
- 9:01Speaker 1: that you can market around and rally around. It's a
- 9:03Speaker 1: home run threat who everyone's talking about. And he's not
- 9:06Speaker 1: the only one I know. Vargus is playing super well.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Montgomery et cetera. But he seems to be bringing it
- 9:10Speaker 1: all together. You're closer to it. You watch more pitches
- 9:12Speaker 1: of them than I do. What do you think.
- 9:15Speaker 2: I think he's brought a different presence. He's brought something
- 9:19Speaker 2: that they can the fans can focus on. I mean
- 9:21Speaker 2: him and Montgomery and listen, I gotta give m A.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Gill Vargas a ton of credit here. Also, the average
- 9:25Speaker 2: is down, by the way, He's going to be Rookie
- 9:27Speaker 2: of the Year, Markamy. I don't care what Jim Bowden says
- 9:29Speaker 2: and Kevin McGonagall or whatever. But if the white Socks
- 9:32Speaker 2: stay in this race, and they right now are in
- 9:36Speaker 2: this race, if they stay in this race and he
- 9:37Speaker 2: keeps he gets an OPS of nine thirty four at
- 9:40Speaker 2: the end of this year, guess what, he's gonna win
- 9:42Speaker 2: Rookie of the Year. So I'll be right on that
- 9:44Speaker 2: one too. K percentage. Who cares, No one cares about
- 9:47Speaker 2: K's anymore. Strike out all you want, just keep hitting
- 9:49Speaker 2: ops in nine thirty four. He shows he shows some
- 9:53Speaker 2: of the younger guys how to take your bats. He's
- 9:55Speaker 2: just been a good presence in as far as his
- 9:57Speaker 2: defense goes. He's playing first base, and I know Ron
- 9:59Speaker 2: Washington said. Ron Washington said first base is incredibly difficult.
- 10:02Speaker 2: In that terrible movie Moneyball, it is hard, right, But
- 10:06Speaker 2: he was a third basement in Japan. He's moved over
- 10:08Speaker 2: to first and been pretty darn good. So I don't
- 10:11Speaker 2: know what the miss was here. I'm not a scout.
- 10:13Speaker 2: I didn't see him play before this, but we saw
- 10:15Speaker 2: him perform in the WBC in big moments. Remember he
- 10:19Speaker 2: got the big hit a few years ago against US
- 10:21Speaker 2: to win that game against some guys who have some
- 10:24Speaker 2: pretty good velocity, were major league pitchers. So I'm very
- 10:27Speaker 2: happy that he fell to the White Sox and the
- 10:29Speaker 2: White Sox were able to sign him because he has
- 10:30Speaker 2: brought a different presence at the White Sox Anita for
- 10:33Speaker 2: a long.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Time, he's talked about it being a big chip to Kratz,
- 10:37Speaker 1: so this article talked about Yoshida and even say as Suzuki,
- 10:42Speaker 1: he's been a nice player, but he was a superstar,
- 10:44Speaker 1: and they're like, oh, it didn't translate to superstar. I'm like,
- 10:46Speaker 1: all right, well, he's been a very nice player. I
- 10:47Speaker 1: know he's lacking a little especially with runners scoringstition. By
- 10:51Speaker 1: the way, it's five for forty struck out in a
- 10:52Speaker 1: big spot this weekend, but in general he's been a
- 10:55Speaker 1: plus player, right and Yoshida, you can make a different
- 10:59Speaker 1: case for or Kami has this big chip because it's
- 11:02Speaker 1: not just about him. He was quoted in the story saying,
- 11:04Speaker 1: when I came to the majors, my goal was to
- 11:05Speaker 1: change the perspective of NPB players in Japan, perspective of
- 11:11Speaker 1: what people are looking at here on position players over there.
- 11:14Speaker 1: And he thinks he's raised the level already with what
- 11:17Speaker 1: he's shown in the first quarter this season. Long way
- 11:19Speaker 1: to go. But when he talks like that to me,
- 11:21Speaker 1: it makes it like it's personal and it has to
- 11:24Speaker 1: do with his countrymen being disrespected.
- 11:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I say, Suzuki. I remember when he
- 11:30Speaker 2: came over and we had played against him with Team USA,
- 11:33Speaker 2: and I was like, this dude's like he's legit.
- 11:36Speaker 3: He had he looked the part in the sense of
- 11:41Speaker 3: speed zone discipline, like walking more than he's striking out
- 11:45Speaker 3: all that stuff, and he didn't transition. He didn't transition
- 11:49Speaker 3: at all, like more comedy has transitioned. And so maybe
- 11:52Speaker 3: he does have that, like you said, little chip on
- 11:55Speaker 3: his shoulder. Maybe he has that you know, Okay, Well
- 11:58Speaker 3: the reason I didn't hit krat said I can't hit
- 12:01Speaker 3: ninety four plus, Well, you know what, I didn't see
- 12:04Speaker 3: it very often. So when you don't see something very often,
- 12:06Speaker 3: how are you going to necessarily catch up to it
- 12:10Speaker 3: or make the adjustment for it. And everybody who's like, oh,
- 12:13Speaker 3: he strikes out so much, he's got a great eye.
- 12:17Speaker 3: He's got a great eye. People have stopped talking about
- 12:20Speaker 3: Kyle Schwarber striking out too much. And Kyle Schwarber has
- 12:22Speaker 3: four more strikeouts than more comedy. And I think he's
- 12:27Speaker 3: the part that's cool to see him do this is
- 12:31Speaker 3: he's doing it as kind of the lynch pin for
- 12:34Speaker 3: this team. Is Vargas having a good year? Absolutely? Is
- 12:37Speaker 3: Colson Montgomery?
- 12:38Speaker 2: Is he a.
- 12:38Speaker 3: Problem for teams when he's in the box, So you
- 12:42Speaker 3: think about him where he's at in the order, But
- 12:45Speaker 3: you can't let more ecamy beat you right now. And
- 12:47Speaker 3: he's doing it. To have this many home runs this early,
- 12:52Speaker 3: very few, there's probably better. There's probably better Japanese or
- 12:56Speaker 3: players that have done better in America that have come
- 12:59Speaker 3: over from the MPB. But to do it right away
- 13:03Speaker 3: is so impressive and way harder than people are really
- 13:06Speaker 3: giving you credit for.
- 13:08Speaker 1: Remember, most people in the off season were like, Oh,
- 13:10Speaker 1: there's gonna be an adjustment. He's gonna have to figure
- 13:12Speaker 1: out how to time up major league pitching. Not really.
- 13:16Speaker 2: I said it.
- 13:16Speaker 1: You you, Yeah, you were one.
- 13:18Speaker 2: I said it. I even talked.
- 13:20Speaker 3: I talked to different scouts of teams that needed a
- 13:22Speaker 3: DH and they all said the same thing. They all
- 13:25Speaker 3: said the same thing. They were like, Yo, everybody's gonna
- 13:28Speaker 3: say all the big hit that he had against tam Usa,
- 13:30Speaker 3: it was against Merrill Kelly. It wasn't velocity, and it
- 13:33Speaker 3: was like, were they nitpicking things? Were they seeing hitting?
- 13:38Speaker 3: And aj was a really good hitter. He didn't have
- 13:40Speaker 3: like ridiculous power like Moricmi. But hitting in the big
- 13:44Speaker 3: leagues is about making an adjustment. Anybody who teaches hitting
- 13:47Speaker 3: and goes, okay, well you got to swing this way
- 13:50Speaker 3: every time, every time you got to swing one way, Well,
- 13:53Speaker 3: what happens when they're just attacking you up top? You
- 13:55Speaker 3: got to be able to make the adjustment. And for
- 13:57Speaker 3: him to have this much success early, he's already gone
- 14:00Speaker 3: through two or three cycles of adjustments from how the
- 14:03Speaker 3: league is pitching him and he's still bashing Dingers.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Impressive, and so are the White Sox right now, hanging
- 14:09Speaker 1: in there, hanging in there. You know, we're past a
- 14:13Speaker 1: quarter point of the season. They're in one of the
- 14:16Speaker 1: worst divisions so far in terms of wins and losses.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Al Central not good. L Weska, Yeah, when.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Do we start talking about the Tigers of being in trouble?
- 14:25Speaker 2: Just asking when when they stop hit it? Oh? Wait
- 14:32Speaker 2: that now, different segment.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Hey, Ken Rosenthal talks a lot about a big series
- 14:39Speaker 1: that's firing up this week, the Padres and the Dodgers.
- 14:41Speaker 1: To hit the Padres side for a moment. We'll talk
- 14:43Speaker 1: Dodgers later. AJ Padres swept the Mariners. When do we
- 14:48Speaker 1: start talking about what's wrong with the Mariners?
- 14:50Speaker 2: Well, yeah, we already we kind of already have, haven't we?
- 14:54Speaker 1: Yeah, we have. But also the Al West is terrible
- 14:57Speaker 1: right now, so they're like.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Yeah, right in the did you guys watch the game yesterday?
- 15:02Speaker 2: I mean, the Padre's pitching completely shut down the Maris offense.
- 15:06Speaker 2: There is no offense on this team at all. It
- 15:09Speaker 2: is even I mean, I know they scored a couple
- 15:11Speaker 2: runs late, but it was like they were just it
- 15:14Speaker 2: was they had no chance.
- 15:15Speaker 3: I'm like, what are they They handed it up to them.
- 15:18Speaker 3: Stop throwing strikes. They just handed those runs to them essentially.
- 15:21Speaker 2: I know, by the way, you have a seven nothing
- 15:23Speaker 2: lead and you throw a rookie a three to one
- 15:24Speaker 2: change up. I was even they even said it on
- 15:26Speaker 2: the broadcast. I was like, what are we doing? I
- 15:29Speaker 2: think PV said it on the broadcast. I was like,
- 15:31Speaker 2: what are we doing? Like, you got to make the
- 15:33Speaker 2: guy hit his way on? And by the way, do
- 15:36Speaker 2: you guys like the New NBC broadcast, there's a lot
- 15:38Speaker 2: of people talking. I feel like so many It's like,
- 15:42Speaker 2: who's talking? Wait, we're going here? It's and I love Jason.
- 15:44Speaker 2: I don't know. I'm just it just seems like there's
- 15:47Speaker 2: a lot because it's three guys. It's three people in
- 15:49Speaker 2: the booth, then a guy on the field, and then
- 15:51Speaker 2: someone in the studio.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Then it's like, Wow, I did a game package for
- 15:56Speaker 1: a long time where it's different people all the time too.
- 16:02Speaker 1: I prefer consistency.
- 16:06Speaker 3: We love our dog Bella, who splays out in the
- 16:08Speaker 3: open sun on our floor like she's an underwear model,
- 16:11Speaker 3: and that's why we love her so much.
- 16:13Speaker 2: To scratch her belly.
- 16:16Speaker 1: She's a cutie, that bella and a quick message from
- 16:19Speaker 1: today's sponsor, the ASPCA Pet Health Insurance Program. If you're
- 16:23Speaker 1: frantically looking for what to do with your pup when
- 16:25Speaker 1: they have an issue, The program offers customizable accident and
- 16:28Speaker 1: illness plans, making it easier to get your pet the

- 17:05Speaker 1: business of insurance. Hey, this stuff was coming in late
- 17:12Speaker 1: last week and we got it all together over the weekend,
- 17:15Speaker 1: and let's talk about what's going on with Edwin Diaz. Well,
- 17:19Speaker 1: nothing really publicly, and I have no idea if he's
- 17:21Speaker 1: going to get in trouble or anything, but there seems
- 17:24Speaker 1: to be some pretty strong evidence with videos and interviews
- 17:29Speaker 1: that AJ he's into cock fighting. He likes to raise
- 17:32Speaker 1: them roosters and have them go at it. And it's
- 17:34Speaker 1: not just him. His younger brother Alexis he's been in
- 17:37Speaker 1: the bigs, is involved. Martin Maldonado was noted in this story.
- 17:43Speaker 1: And then so were the two big jockeys that were
- 17:46Speaker 1: one and two in the derby. Those are the dudes
- 17:49Speaker 1: that are the cousins of Elmer Rodriguez, right, that's the
- 17:52Speaker 1: whole lineage there. So there's a lot going on here.
- 17:55Speaker 1: It goes back, really, it first starts they could they
- 17:57Speaker 1: found stuff back to twenty ten. I don't even how
- 18:00Speaker 1: old he was at that. I mean, that's a long
- 18:01Speaker 1: ass time ago, sixteen years ago. But there's him talking about, how,
- 18:06Speaker 1: you know, kind of like, oh, good things. It's legal here.
- 18:10Speaker 1: It's not. It's not legal in Puerto Rico, So I
- 18:13Speaker 1: don't know, that's bad info. It's been illegal there since
- 18:16Speaker 1: twenty nineteen. In all of the US and its territories,
- 18:19Speaker 1: the territories was the part that was newer about seven
- 18:22Speaker 1: years ago. So there's been a ton of chatter the
- 18:24Speaker 1: last few days. AJ, there's been some articles, not a ton,
- 18:28Speaker 1: and I don't know what's going to happen from all
- 18:30Speaker 1: of this. Had no idea on like the criminal side
- 18:32Speaker 1: of the investigation, how the government works with that, and
- 18:35Speaker 1: how the League is going to tie into this. But
- 18:37Speaker 1: we have not heard much of a peep besides tons
- 18:40Speaker 1: of posts from what's supposed to be Edwin Diez's Facebook page.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't want to get it. I mean, I
- 18:46Speaker 2: don't want to get into rumors. He clearly from everyone
- 18:49Speaker 2: saying from things he said he's been to these. I've
- 18:52Speaker 2: never been to one of these. It's it's not a
- 18:56Speaker 2: good look. That's all I can say. If this is true,
- 18:58Speaker 2: it's not a good look. And I don't know. I
- 19:00Speaker 2: hate to get into rumors like this. It's it's just
- 19:02Speaker 2: a bad it's a bad thing, and I hope that
- 19:05Speaker 2: people understand that, uh, you know, it shouldn't be done.
- 19:07Speaker 2: That's why it's against the law. Yeah, I mean, anytime
- 19:11Speaker 2: you're posting and advertising something that's against the law, it's
- 19:17Speaker 2: it's a tough it's a tough look because it's happening,
- 19:21Speaker 2: and it's a tougher look because you are somebody in
- 19:23Speaker 2: the spotlight. And when you're somebody in the spotlight, I'm
- 19:25Speaker 2: not saying that you need to be held to a
- 19:27Speaker 2: different standard because federal law is federal law, and.
- 19:31Speaker 3: You shouldn't be like he. He should be treated like
- 19:35Speaker 3: anybody else. But you're as soon as as soon as
- 19:39Speaker 3: his I think, are the jockeys his cousins.
- 19:41Speaker 2: I don't one hundred percent know Elma Rodriguez his cousin.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, but the Yankees young rookie.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Correct, correct, But there the Artis brothers. As soon as
- 19:55Speaker 3: they won the Kentucky Derby. As soon as they were
- 19:58Speaker 3: one two in the Kentucky Derby, people started going through
- 20:02Speaker 3: all of their stuff. Before that, all this stuff had
- 20:05Speaker 3: already been posted. So anything I tell this to the
- 20:07Speaker 3: high school kids, I tell this to you know, different
- 20:11Speaker 3: teams that I go and talk to. You're not famous, now,
- 20:14Speaker 3: I promise, because I don't know you. I didn't know
- 20:17Speaker 3: the Ortiz jockey people. As soon as it starts getting out,
- 20:21Speaker 3: anything that you've ever posted comes back, and you have
- 20:25Speaker 3: to have an answer to it. Not a reckoning, but
- 20:29Speaker 3: and it is illegal. Whether people are going to sit
- 20:32Speaker 3: here and say, oh, well, you know, you're not perfect.
- 20:34Speaker 3: I'm not perfect, you're right, but there are things that
- 20:39Speaker 3: most likely there's some type of punishment out there for
- 20:43Speaker 3: people that do this, and so are they going to
- 20:46Speaker 3: Is major League Baseball going to do something? Had they
- 20:49Speaker 3: ever had this precedent before? Everybody knows the you know
- 20:53Speaker 3: what happened with Michael Vick and the dog fighting. Is
- 20:56Speaker 3: there is there a precedent that Major League Baseball has.
- 21:00Speaker 2: That's the sin. That's why probably everything's very we haven't
- 21:02Speaker 2: heard anything yet because they're not sure and they have
- 21:05Speaker 2: to figure this out the validity of everything. Was it
- 21:08Speaker 2: just pictures? Was he posting it? Was he?
- 21:10Speaker 3: How involved was he? And that's where the investigation will
- 21:13Speaker 3: probably take some time.
- 21:15Speaker 1: USA Today put out a couple articles, and I mean
- 21:18Speaker 1: it is a long list of things that they were
- 21:21Speaker 1: able to pull before it was then taken down, So
- 21:25Speaker 1: they were able to pull photos, videos. There's also an
- 21:29Speaker 1: article from March tenth, and they're basically talking about how Diaz,
- 21:34Speaker 1: you know, went to some cock fighting thing on a
- 21:38Speaker 1: day I guess in between the World Baseball Classic and
- 21:41Speaker 1: in there. That's where the quote is from where he
- 21:44Speaker 1: said to El Nuevo Dia on March tenth, quote, it's
- 21:48Speaker 1: a pastime I followed since I was a child. It's
- 21:50Speaker 1: legal in Puerto Rico, thank god, otherwise I wouldn't be here.
- 21:54Speaker 1: So there's also a missing education involved, Like you can say, oh, no,
- 21:58Speaker 1: he knew it was illegal.
- 21:59Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know if he knew it
- 22:01Speaker 2: was well. I think one thing that you have to
- 22:02Speaker 2: understand is that it's a cultural thing in Puerto Rico.
- 22:05Speaker 2: So people, even though it might be illegal, I think
- 22:08Speaker 2: there's a big thing where they're trying to say, it's
- 22:10Speaker 2: been in our culture the whole time, we're going to
- 22:11Speaker 2: continue to do it. So I think that's why some
- 22:14Speaker 2: people might not understand that it actually is illegal. Not
- 22:17Speaker 2: giving him an excuse at all, but it is one
- 22:19Speaker 2: of those things where they have fought back on this
- 22:21Speaker 2: numerous times. There's been lawsuits and other things. If you
- 22:23Speaker 2: read about this a little bit where people in Puerto
- 22:25Speaker 2: Rico said, hey, this is part of our culture. Now
- 22:28Speaker 2: it's still against the law, but there's a million things
- 22:31Speaker 2: that are against law. Speedings against the law. Everyone does
- 22:33Speaker 2: it all the time. Right, there's a million things Texting
- 22:36Speaker 2: and driving is against law. I mean, listen, Ain't nobody
- 22:39Speaker 2: on this show can say they'd never text and drove before.
- 22:41Speaker 2: So I mean, come on, like, there's a lot of
- 22:44Speaker 2: things that are against the law. Now, this one's obviously
- 22:46Speaker 2: worse than some of those other things that I just mentioned,
- 22:49Speaker 2: But if it's part of the culture, listen, I get
- 22:52Speaker 2: maybe why Edwin Diez is a little bit confused, but
- 22:55Speaker 2: I just you know, it's one of those things. It's
- 22:58Speaker 2: just a bad situation and I'm god really didn't want
- 23:00Speaker 2: to talk about it, but we brought it up, so
- 23:01Speaker 2: we got to talk a little bit about it.
- 23:04Speaker 1: No, And I think for for our show, this is
- 23:06Speaker 1: where we're going to try to address anything that we can.
- 23:10Speaker 1: And you know, we put the segment of spreading rumors.
- 23:14Speaker 1: There's a lot put out there. There's a lot on Facebook page,
- 23:16Speaker 1: but it also is put out in articles now, in
- 23:19Speaker 1: publications that we follow in and get our news from.
- 23:22Speaker 1: So you know, our fans were looking to us, Can
- 23:25Speaker 1: we tell you much about what we think is going
- 23:26Speaker 1: to happen? Not really like do you think if you
- 23:29Speaker 1: had to guess, do you think that Edwin Diaz is
- 23:32Speaker 1: going to get suspended for this from MLB, it's an
- 23:39Speaker 1: interesting case.
- 23:40Speaker 2: From Michael Vick. Did is just Michael Vick territory, Like
- 23:45Speaker 2: you know, it's I don't know, it depends on depends
- 23:49Speaker 2: on what level. And it's really going to be based
- 23:51Speaker 2: on this is all, you know.
- 23:52Speaker 3: All the stuff that we're reading about is stuff that
- 23:55Speaker 3: USA Today found posts. Now they're going to have to say, actually, fine,
- 24:00Speaker 3: in my opinion, they would have to find concrete evidence,
- 24:04Speaker 3: not just pictures or statements from him promoting a fight
- 24:09Speaker 3: that's coming up or cock fighting that is gonna be
- 24:13Speaker 3: happening at a certain place. Like you get it, like
- 24:16Speaker 3: you are used sometimes as a celebrity to promote things
- 24:20Speaker 3: that you're like, yeah, okay, what you know. I I
- 24:23Speaker 3: know that stuff. I've been to some But so it's
- 24:27Speaker 3: gonna be the evidence. And like I said, I couldn't
- 24:32Speaker 3: find after reading these USA Today articles, I couldn't find
- 24:35Speaker 3: a case in Major League Baseball that is similar to this.
- 24:41Speaker 3: And so you have to look at what happened with
- 24:44Speaker 3: Michael Vick and the NFL and the federal government came
- 24:49Speaker 3: down on Michael Vick very hard. So is that the
- 24:52Speaker 3: same thing that's gonna happen to Edwin Diaz. I have
- 24:55Speaker 3: no idea, but for Major League Baseball feels like they
- 25:00Speaker 3: they don't have like an example of something that has
- 25:03Speaker 3: happened before in this realm.
- 25:06Speaker 1: And sometimes, from my observation, leagues will try to follow
- 25:11Speaker 1: the law first and see if there was an investigation
- 25:14Speaker 1: and something followed right. And it's case by case because
- 25:17Speaker 1: sometimes the law gets complicated, cases take a while, and
- 25:21Speaker 1: then teams don't want to be paying players during that
- 25:24Speaker 1: time period or if they have to sit out or
- 25:26Speaker 1: take a while, so it gets complicated. I just I
- 25:29Speaker 1: think you guys would all agree. I don't remember a
- 25:31Speaker 1: case like this in baseball. I don't remember a case
- 25:34Speaker 1: with any animal fighting that's illegal that's involved in baseball,
- 25:38Speaker 1: especially not specifically cock fighting. I don't know a lot
- 25:40Speaker 1: about it, but I agree with AJ, I don't understand it.
- 25:44Speaker 1: But in Puerto Rican culture, it's a thing, and it
- 25:47Speaker 1: does seem like there is a subset of people that
- 25:50Speaker 1: have been fighting the law that was implemented on them.
- 25:54Speaker 1: Like not that's we don't want that. I mean, you
- 25:57Speaker 1: can argue that, but it is. It is the damn law.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Here's the thing in Spain, bullfighting is frowned upon, right.
- 26:06Speaker 2: Ozzie Gehan was our manager. He used to go to bullfights.
- 26:08Speaker 2: He used to talk about it. I love bullfighting. I
- 26:10Speaker 2: grew up watching bullfighting on TV, and I I've always
- 26:13Speaker 2: wanted to go and he would go to bullfights and
- 26:15Speaker 2: talk about it. I don't know, is that the same thing,
- 26:18Speaker 2: because that is kind of not I think it got
- 26:21Speaker 2: banned at some point, did it? Not? Bullfighting in a
- 26:24Speaker 2: lot of Spain. I mean, I know it still happens
- 26:26Speaker 2: around Barcelona, I think area. I'm not exactly sure, so
- 26:29Speaker 2: don't quote me. But for Ozzy was taking a bunch
- 26:31Speaker 2: of grief because he was like, I like bullfighting and
- 26:34Speaker 2: to go to bullfighting and I see bullfighting and I
- 26:36Speaker 2: grew up on bullfighting. So I don't know. I mean,
- 26:39Speaker 2: unless you can prove Edwin Diaz actually had one of
- 26:41Speaker 2: the cocks and made the Cox fight each other, and
- 26:44Speaker 2: I don't know that you can don't. I don't know.
- 26:46Speaker 2: I don't know. It's just it's just a bad story
- 26:49Speaker 2: that I don't feel awkward talking about. I think I
- 26:54Speaker 2: think it's something that I know Michael Vick went because
- 26:57Speaker 2: of that example. Whether people want to make it a
- 26:59Speaker 2: line comparison or not. He got in trouble because of
- 27:03Speaker 2: the funding, because of how involved Azigian going to sit
- 27:08Speaker 2: in the front row. Maybe that's not the same in
- 27:12Speaker 2: the minor leagues. I heard of a team. It wasn't
- 27:14Speaker 2: my team, and I never saw it. They would go
- 27:17Speaker 2: and buy beta fish at the local at the local store,
- 27:21Speaker 2: and they would each buy a beta fish and they
- 27:23Speaker 2: would put it in the bowl and whoever would win,
- 27:26Speaker 2: they would win money from the beta fish. Because beta fish,
- 27:29Speaker 2: I guess when they when they are in the same
- 27:32Speaker 2: bowl or if there next to each other, they like
- 27:34Speaker 2: or they see their own reflection, they're like they attack
- 27:36Speaker 2: each other. So I guess that's the minor league, minor
- 27:39Speaker 2: league version of beta fish fighting.
- 27:43Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a beta fish thing that that I've heard
- 27:46Speaker 1: of where I think it's like two males together or
- 27:48Speaker 1: something will fight to the death something like that. Yep,
- 27:51Speaker 1: you're not off and for the bull fighting, yeah, from
- 27:54Speaker 1: the team behind the scenes. It's legal in most of Spain,
- 27:56Speaker 1: constitutionally protected as part of the country's national heritage. However,
- 28:01Speaker 1: the sport is deeply polarized. The legal status varies significantly
- 28:05Speaker 1: depending on the region, so just like AJ said, this
- 28:08Speaker 1: stuff gets complicated whether you are super super against it
- 28:12Speaker 1: or it's not as big of a deal to you
- 28:13Speaker 1: because they're like, oh, it's animals, Like do I think
- 28:17Speaker 1: we should be doing that? Nah? I like watching if
- 28:20Speaker 1: you're going to watch a fight, I like a little boxing.
- 28:23Speaker 1: But for me, there's not much we can do about
- 28:27Speaker 1: this until we find out right what else happens. So,
- 28:30Speaker 1: and there's not a lot of coverage on this right now.
- 28:32Speaker 1: Right there's a couple of publications, a lot of blogs
- 28:35Speaker 1: and tweets and rumors. So what we do know is
- 28:39Speaker 1: if that's a real Facebook page, it was flooded with
- 28:42Speaker 1: evidence to be able to show that Edwin's into it.
- 28:45Speaker 1: So we'll see what happens. Obviously, as more news comes in,
- 28:49Speaker 1: we'll let you know. We got nothing to hide here.
- 28:50Speaker 1: We're just reporting on what we do and don't know
- 28:53Speaker 1: about the situation. If there's writers that cover the story
- 28:56Speaker 1: that do an investigation, we will be the first ones
- 28:59Speaker 1: to request to bring them on the show. When we say,
- 29:02Speaker 1: for the first quarter and sometimes even the first half
- 29:04Speaker 1: of the season, it's too early to judge what the
- 29:07Speaker 1: Philadelphia Phillies are doing lately. Is why we say that
- 29:11Speaker 1: they are fifteen and four in their last nineteen I
- 29:14Speaker 1: mean aj They dusted the pirates this weekend and capped
- 29:17Speaker 1: it off by having Wheeler beat schemes on Sunday. They're
- 29:20Speaker 1: on freaking fire.
- 29:24Speaker 2: They got confident. This is what happens when something changes,
- 29:27Speaker 2: whatever it is we joked about. Remember cal Rawley taking
- 29:30Speaker 2: the shower and they changed managers. Not that it was
- 29:32Speaker 2: Rob Thompson's fault, but maybe he lit a fire and
- 29:35Speaker 2: some of the people had to look in the mirror.
- 29:36Speaker 2: And then they caught the easy schedule right, and then
- 29:39Speaker 2: everyone kind of started feeling better about themselves. And this
- 29:42Speaker 2: is what the rest of the National League didn't want
- 29:44Speaker 2: to see. You didn't want to see Wheeler healthy. You
- 29:46Speaker 2: don't want to see Christopher Sanchez who never gives up
- 29:48Speaker 2: a run, right, Painter goes tonight, But they go out
- 29:51Speaker 2: and Harper swinging, and Schwarber has twenty homers already, by
- 29:54Speaker 2: the way, yes, twenty they played forty seven games. Boom
- 29:59Speaker 2: Turner the rest. These guys are starting to get going
- 30:01Speaker 2: a little bit. This is what the rest of the
- 30:03Speaker 2: National League did not want to see. But they got confident.
- 30:06Speaker 2: Call me on June first, because from now till June first,
- 30:10Speaker 2: even starting this weekend, the Pirates are a good team.
- 30:12Speaker 2: Starting this weekend till June first, they have a tough schedule.
- 30:17Speaker 3: They are They're in it, not like the last not
- 30:20Speaker 3: like the last fifteen games. So and it's not just
- 30:22Speaker 3: Don Mattingly. Ever, since they called Garrett Stubbs up check
- 30:26Speaker 3: the Phillies record, I'm just saying vibes. Guys in the clubhouse,
- 30:30Speaker 3: their new platoon or back up left fielder, Garrett Stubbs.
- 30:37Speaker 1: They do love him, all right, Let's do this. Injuries
- 30:44Speaker 1: do suck. There were many from the weekend since we
- 30:47Speaker 1: last had our show finish up on Friday afternoon. Let's
- 30:51Speaker 1: run through some big ones, starting with Blake Snell aj
- 30:56Speaker 1: back for one start, his first start of the season,
- 31:00Speaker 1: and then scratched, and we find out that he's going
- 31:04Speaker 1: to get surgery for loose bodies in his elbow, which
- 31:07Speaker 1: is the theme of the last month in terms of
- 31:10Speaker 1: pitcher injuries. That turns into a question of nanoscope schooble scope,
- 31:16Speaker 1: that new technology that we've been talking about that school underwent,
- 31:20Speaker 1: or just the regular one which would probably knock him
- 31:23Speaker 1: out for a few months. He's had this before and.
- 31:26Speaker 2: Did these pop up though if he was healthy, they
- 31:28Speaker 2: just obviously these things just pop up out of nowhere.
- 31:30Speaker 2: Because he came back and pitched to the big leagues
- 31:32Speaker 2: after missing Remember, he was tired at the beginning of
- 31:35Speaker 2: the year because he threw what a how many innings
- 31:36Speaker 2: did he throw last year? Like we figured out like
- 31:38Speaker 2: one hundred innings and he was tired going into the year.
- 31:41Speaker 2: So was he hurt and he just didn't mention it
- 31:43Speaker 2: or what happened to these pop up in his one
- 31:46Speaker 2: big league start that he had. Listen, I love Blake
- 31:49Speaker 2: and I love watching Blake snowpitch. He's fun to watch.
- 31:51Speaker 2: He gets it, he's laughing, he's having fun out there.
- 31:53Speaker 2: He's got great stuff. But if there's one team out
- 31:56Speaker 2: there that can manage with this, it's the Dodgers. And
- 32:00Speaker 2: here we go again. With the Dodgers. They just go
- 32:02Speaker 2: and get Eric Lawer and he'll probably turn into a
- 32:04Speaker 2: star too, because they pick him up, they figure out
- 32:07Speaker 2: something and boom, watch him go.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Yeah, good point, good pickup.
- 32:13Speaker 2: And he's gonna I mean, the guy that's had success
- 32:15Speaker 2: in lower and I think because he was chatting a
- 32:19Speaker 2: little bit too much. I think that's why you got
- 32:21Speaker 2: run out of Toronto.
- 32:23Speaker 1: I don't.
- 32:25Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 32:25Speaker 3: I don't think Toronto's pitching death is so crazy deep
- 32:28Speaker 3: right now with all the injuries that they have that
- 32:30Speaker 3: they're like, yeah, we can we don't.
- 32:33Speaker 2: Need Eric Lower right now.
- 32:35Speaker 3: I think because he was talking and the Dodgers are like,
- 32:38Speaker 3: we're good, we can handle that. We're gonna tell you
- 32:41Speaker 3: exactly because he's not gonna He wasn't happy with his
- 32:44Speaker 3: role all the time in Toronto. He wasn't happy with
- 32:47Speaker 3: the amount of money that he got, which I completely agree.
- 32:49Speaker 3: I think it was a flawed arbitration system for him.
- 32:52Speaker 3: But he's gonna have a You go to the you
- 32:56Speaker 3: go to the Dodgers, where your role is gonna be
- 33:00Speaker 3: undefined at any given week because of the fact that
- 33:04Speaker 3: they have different dudes that step up in the rotation,
- 33:06Speaker 3: and you have different guys that are doing really good
- 33:09Speaker 3: in rotation that come playoff time. You're throwing in a pen.
- 33:12Speaker 3: So you know, hopefully for the Dodgers, they know this
- 33:15Speaker 3: guy and they're like, yeah, whatever, it's no big deal.
- 33:18Speaker 2: We like him. He's gonna come in. He's gonna fit
- 33:20Speaker 2: right into.
- 33:20Speaker 1: Our clubhouse swingman. He's perfect swingman with a chip on
- 33:25Speaker 1: his shoulder and willing to listen to an organization that
- 33:28Speaker 1: knows what they're doing with the pitching. And Toronto did too.
- 33:30Speaker 1: He was brilliant with them last year. Brilliant, I mean,
- 33:33Speaker 1: Ken Rosenthal talks about it unfair territory today. Who was
- 33:37Speaker 1: Ernie clement A the unsung MVP of the team last
- 33:39Speaker 1: year with the way that he would fill in evenings
- 33:41Speaker 1: and then you know, really put together a strong, strong
- 33:44Speaker 1: year and made what eight appearances, six starts for them,
- 33:48Speaker 1: and then they cut eight. It was weird, but it's
- 33:50Speaker 1: a fresh start for him. Back to Snell for a moment.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Dave Roberts talked about it. He's gonna get surgery on Tuesday.
- 33:58Speaker 1: As I understand it, it's going to be to take
- 34:02Speaker 1: out those loose bodies and it's supposed to be a
- 34:05Speaker 1: lot quicker, a quicker recovery. So we're encouraged about that
- 34:12Speaker 1: and so expect him certainly back this season. Don't know
- 34:16Speaker 1: really a timetable, but I think just kind of with
- 34:19Speaker 1: the MRI, the scans and everything, we feel good about,
- 34:23Speaker 1: you know, getting back to play Cerven. The names Lucky
- 34:28Speaker 1: for the Dodgers. There's plenty of talent around them. It
- 34:31Speaker 1: stinks for them to lose Snell now for a good
- 34:34Speaker 1: chunk of time. Glass now is currently on the shelf.
- 34:36Speaker 1: You know who shoved yesterday, Roki good point. The Angels
- 34:43Speaker 1: were railroaded. They look currently like perhaps the worst team
- 34:46Speaker 1: in baseball. The Dodgers outscored them what I think it
- 34:49Speaker 1: was like three to three or something. I mean, they
- 34:51Speaker 1: destroyed them. Yeah, it looked like two teams on different
- 34:56Speaker 1: playing fields. But Roki Sazaki had a career high seven
- 34:59Speaker 1: innings career I punch outs career eye swing and miss
- 35:03Speaker 1: the old deal. I know you guys are gonna say, hey,
- 35:04Speaker 1: take it with a grain of salt, but there's something
- 35:07Speaker 1: you look good.
- 35:08Speaker 2: I watched this game. He look good, He look good.
- 35:10Speaker 2: This is the best he's looked as a big league
- 35:12Speaker 2: pitcher by far. And yes, take it with a grain
- 35:14Speaker 2: of salt. Is the Angels, by the way, speaking of
- 35:16Speaker 2: a bad team? Wow, I mean, wow, it's been so
- 35:22Speaker 2: long for the Angels. Wow. I just I don't even
- 35:25Speaker 2: know what they could do. What could they even try
- 35:27Speaker 2: to do to make this team better? That's the biggest
- 35:29Speaker 2: thing I don't.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Even sell off all the parts and start again, because
- 35:32Speaker 1: it's what parts.
- 35:33Speaker 2: They do that all the time, Scott, you keep saying that.
- 35:35Speaker 1: But what they don't even know they don't do that.
- 35:37Speaker 2: They have to sell. Who do they have that they
- 35:39Speaker 2: could netto? Yeah, he's he's the one that I like.
- 35:45Speaker 2: I like watching guy that I would say let's build
- 35:47Speaker 2: around him.
- 35:48Speaker 1: And then signed him. They haven't extended him. What are
- 35:51Speaker 1: they waiting for?
- 35:52Speaker 2: That doesn't That doesn't make you more wins. You have
- 35:55Speaker 2: guys that you have guys that are playing on an
- 35:59Speaker 2: almost regular basis that one don't look like they want
- 36:03Speaker 2: to be there, two don't always necessarily know the situation.
- 36:07Speaker 2: And three this bullpen was supposed to like they were
- 36:11Speaker 2: supposed to just build this pen and build this like, Okay,
- 36:14Speaker 2: we got the young young guys in this in this lineup,
- 36:19Speaker 2: and now you know we're gonna build around.
- 36:21Speaker 3: This with this rotation and bullpen. And they haven't done it.
- 36:24Speaker 3: Like it's just a no, you don't know you trade
- 36:28Speaker 3: netto and I'm you might as well send you might
- 36:30Speaker 3: as well send trout with them. I'm not saying I'm
- 36:33Speaker 3: not I'm not bringing up the whole trout trade. Yes,
- 36:36Speaker 3: no whatever, But to me, when I watched them play,
- 36:40Speaker 3: Neto provides a fire that I do not see from
- 36:44Speaker 3: some of the other guys in this lineup. It's some
- 36:47Speaker 3: listless at bats. It's some listless like coming into big
- 36:51Speaker 3: spots as a bullpen guy and just absolutely giving it up,
- 36:55Speaker 3: and it just doesn't look like it's very The effort
- 37:00Speaker 3: level for me is something that I think they've created
- 37:05Speaker 3: a environment where you call guys up to the big
- 37:09Speaker 3: leagues ready or not ready? How much are those.
- 37:13Speaker 2: Guys getting sent down because they don't play well or
- 37:15Speaker 2: their effort level is lower. I just just watching them play.
- 37:20Speaker 2: Please don't get rid of Netto.
- 37:22Speaker 3: I love watching I will I will tune into the
- 37:24Speaker 3: first bitch of that of the game when the Angels
- 37:26Speaker 3: are playing and Netto's leading.
- 37:27Speaker 1: Off and then you flip away. Yeah, we could go
- 37:32Speaker 1: all day on that situation. It's it's stay good night
- 37:35Speaker 1: to the Angels right now. There are seasons done quick
- 37:39Speaker 1: one just to finish up on the two teams in
- 37:42Speaker 1: that region. Bruce Dargrad are all set back. I know
- 37:44Speaker 1: we're not going to spend a lot of time on it,
- 37:46Speaker 1: but you know he's dealing with a back issue. Back
- 37:49Speaker 1: flared up going for images. It's just a shame. He
- 37:52Speaker 1: was a fun guy to watch. Velo was crazy good
- 37:54Speaker 1: and it was down in the last outing. But you know,
- 37:57Speaker 1: he used to be that pomp a hondo, not at
- 38:00Speaker 1: you pick up a ton of k's get the ground ball.
- 38:03Speaker 1: It was a fun watch. You brought a lot of
- 38:04Speaker 1: energy to the mound. But it's been years since he's
- 38:07Speaker 1: been able to put together.
- 38:08Speaker 2: Stay healthy, healthiness.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:09Speaker 2: Well it was a cool story for a minute, but
- 38:11Speaker 2: now he can't stay healthy. It hasn't been healthy five years.
- 38:15Speaker 2: It's been like five years since this guy's been able
- 38:16Speaker 2: to pitch. I mean, what are we doing. It's effortless
- 38:21Speaker 2: one hundred and it's like, nice guys, I guess yeah,
- 38:25Speaker 2: you're right, you're right. Maybe it is. Maybe it is
- 38:27Speaker 2: high effort. It just doesn't look high effort. But I
- 38:30Speaker 2: mean he was he Yeah, you could see when he
- 38:33Speaker 2: came up he had a special arm. And he can't
- 38:36Speaker 2: stay healthy. It's that's that's tough to see.
- 38:42Speaker 1: Next up Jose Burrios, who has done some good things
- 38:45Speaker 1: in the past in his career. I know he fell
- 38:47Speaker 1: out of favor with his situation in the playoffs last year,
- 38:51Speaker 1: but he's going to miss significant time. It was weird
- 38:53Speaker 1: at one point. I don't know if it was connected
- 38:56Speaker 1: to this injury. I feel like it was like he
- 38:57Speaker 1: was saying he didn't have symptoms, but I think he
- 39:00Speaker 1: is now And either way, they're figuring out what the
- 39:02Speaker 1: long term situation is going to be for him, because
- 39:04Speaker 1: it could be as short as a couple months, or
- 39:06Speaker 1: he could have some major surgery. It's one of those
- 39:08Speaker 1: where they have to go in there to the elbow
- 39:10Speaker 1: on Wednesday and see what's up. So AJ one of
- 39:13Speaker 1: the reports there and the writers are good, butts Ben
- 39:15Speaker 1: Nicholson Smith said it could be as long as twelve
- 39:18Speaker 1: to eighteen months, depending on what kind of surgery. Right,
- 39:22Speaker 1: that's that we can truct.
- 39:23Speaker 2: Yeah, this is the one thing Jose Brios for years
- 39:27Speaker 2: was was durable and now he's lost that durability starting
- 39:30Speaker 2: with last year. So hopefully it's the lesser of the
- 39:34Speaker 2: of the injuries and he can be back soon pitching
- 39:36Speaker 2: because he is fun to watch. He Crash just talked
- 39:38Speaker 2: about the Angels and how they have guys that aren't
- 39:41Speaker 2: exactly passionate. Jose Brios was very passionate when he took
- 39:44Speaker 2: them ound and he could be fun to watch when
- 39:46Speaker 2: he got it going. It's crazy that he's dealing with
- 39:49Speaker 2: this because, like Aj said, he was missed or consistency
- 39:53Speaker 2: never on the il, and then right at the end
- 39:56Speaker 2: of the season it flared up. And now this year
- 40:01Speaker 2: it's been one thing after the other. So right now
- 40:04Speaker 2: when it rains at poors because he had nothing before
- 40:07Speaker 2: and he would always make his thirty to thirty two
- 40:09Speaker 2: starts a year.
- 40:12Speaker 1: Next up, position player Silet's go al East Here Trevor
- 40:15Speaker 1: Story hitting the shelf. They're figuring out if he's gonna
- 40:18Speaker 1: need hernia surgery. It's been a groin issue. This report
- 40:22Speaker 1: from Chris Catillo said since late April, and then I
- 40:25Speaker 1: think Story spoke after that and said even since spring
- 40:28Speaker 1: training he's had issues bothering him. So he's gonna have
- 40:32Speaker 1: more conversations with doctors. See Aja, This one's fascinating to
- 40:36Speaker 1: me because you know, Story was a bust as a
- 40:39Speaker 1: signing until you know, he had a pretty good year
- 40:41Speaker 1: last year and the super nerds inside the Red Sox
- 40:46Speaker 1: front office thought it was like fake right, So then
- 40:49Speaker 1: this year he's off to a slow start, but then
- 40:50Speaker 1: it's like wait, he's actually hurt so because he's been
- 40:53Speaker 1: kind of one of those internal battles. Remember when all
- 40:55Speaker 1: this stuff came out with Corey getting let go and
- 40:59Speaker 1: there's sension on you know what kind of player Trevor
- 41:02Speaker 1: Story as well? The dude's playing with a hernia. It's
- 41:05Speaker 1: kind of hard to tell.
- 41:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, Trevor Story is another guy that just
- 41:09Speaker 2: is a warrior, goes out there and plays to all
- 41:12Speaker 2: kinds of stuff. So I don't know this, this is
- 41:17Speaker 2: one more thing to add to the Red Sox list, right,
- 41:20Speaker 2: Trevor Story. They thought he was good, and I don't know.
- 41:24Speaker 2: I hate I hate talking. I hate talking injuries. I
- 41:26Speaker 2: hate it sucks.
- 41:27Speaker 1: It's usually a Monday thing though. There's just a lot
- 41:29Speaker 1: of injuries to go.
- 41:30Speaker 2: I know. Yeah, I mean he came over there and
- 41:35Speaker 2: signed as a durable player, as a guy that went
- 41:39Speaker 2: out there every day when he's in Colorado and he's
- 41:41Speaker 2: signed in Boston and it hasn't been it. It took
- 41:44Speaker 2: a little while for him to come back from. I
- 41:47Speaker 2: think it was the shoulder thing that he had, and
- 41:52Speaker 2: you know, he originally came in as a second basement
- 41:54Speaker 2: and then they were like then Xander didn't signed back,
- 41:57Speaker 2: and so they had a shortstop of their future and
- 42:00Speaker 2: that shoulder. I think it was a shoulder. It may
- 42:03Speaker 2: have been a hip. I'm not one hundred percent, but
- 42:05Speaker 2: whatever it was, it was one of those injuries that
- 42:08Speaker 2: took a year and a half to like get his
- 42:10Speaker 2: strength back, to get everything back. And so you saw
- 42:13Speaker 2: what you saw last year and then you'd hoped he
- 42:16Speaker 2: was going to build on that and not just and
- 42:19Speaker 2: you know this this extra little injury here to start
- 42:22Speaker 2: the year and play through it. That's tough.
- 42:25Speaker 1: Yankee suffered an injury soon after our show. We learned,
- 42:28Speaker 1: you know, Max freed officially on the IL. It doesn't
- 42:31Speaker 1: seem like it's necessarily long term, but we don't know
- 42:33Speaker 1: for sure. Next time if you guys have him on
- 42:36Speaker 1: when I'm not on, AJA asked Bowden about this situation.
- 42:39Speaker 1: Jim Boden, our guy on the radio the other day,
- 42:42Speaker 1: was saying how pitchers don't get a bruise from this
- 42:45Speaker 1: type of situation and they're calling it a contusion. So
- 42:48Speaker 1: it almost made me feel like he's not necessarily out
- 42:51Speaker 1: of the water on this one, and that you know,
- 42:53Speaker 1: sometimes they're swelling, they can't see everything and then the
- 42:55Speaker 1: swelling subsides and they do another test. So right now
- 42:58Speaker 1: he shut down. Then when he's seemed to free, they'll
- 43:00Speaker 1: do more imaging. So I actually agree with JB. And
- 43:04Speaker 1: I have absolutely no idea, you know, no business saying
- 43:07Speaker 1: much medically. I'm just going off what we usually learned.
- 43:10Speaker 1: But it doesn't mean that I mean it, he avoided
- 43:14Speaker 1: maybe some devastation, but you still need to see the
- 43:17Speaker 1: next set of imaging from him before you really feel
- 43:20Speaker 1: feel comfortable about him. That's how I feel.
- 43:22Speaker 2: Yeah, sometimes I have to wait a few days or
- 43:24Speaker 2: a week or so in order to get the final image.
- 43:26Speaker 2: So that's why they say, oh, nothing's wrong, and then
- 43:29Speaker 2: a week later they're like, oh wait, there really is
- 43:31Speaker 2: something wrong. So yeah, you gotta let some of the
- 43:33Speaker 2: swelling go down.
- 43:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna keep jumping. Jose L two by grade
- 43:38Speaker 1: two oblique strain out, probably gonna miss like six ish weeks.
- 43:43Speaker 1: That's how much time. Jake Myers just missed with the
- 43:46Speaker 1: same injury. Who comes back for Houston Jeremy Panya coming
- 43:49Speaker 1: back for the team this week, but they lose L
- 43:52Speaker 1: two Bay. His power has been down compared to the past.
- 43:54Speaker 1: But I mean he's always a spark plug, and he
- 43:57Speaker 1: wasn't bad. He was about league average. So at any moment,
- 44:00Speaker 1: one of those streaky weeks where he it's like five
- 44:01Speaker 1: homers and then you're like, oh wow, it's the regular
- 44:04Speaker 1: L two V numbers. So that sucks for them.
- 44:08Speaker 2: Rains of poords for the Astros, which just keeps keeps
- 44:12Speaker 2: coming down. I mean last year they were like, oh man,
- 44:15Speaker 2: if Jordon was on this team and healthy, we would
- 44:18Speaker 2: have definitely a different type of lineup. And now Jordan's
- 44:22Speaker 2: healthy and other dudes are going down all around them.
- 44:25Speaker 2: But the biggest, the biggest loss here is is still
- 44:29Speaker 2: with the Astros and they're pitching staff. They didn't build
- 44:31Speaker 2: enough depth and they got killed by it, and now
- 44:35Speaker 2: they're gonna have a sludge of a season. It's just
- 44:38Speaker 2: gonna it's just it could be. It could be long
- 44:41Speaker 2: and hot in Houston right now. So they need they
- 44:44Speaker 2: need somebody else to be able to step up. But hey,
- 44:46Speaker 2: you know what, now they got more at bats for
- 44:49Speaker 2: for east Oparadis and Christian Walker and one of those
- 44:53Speaker 2: guys that was going to get traded before and so
- 44:57Speaker 2: next guy.
- 44:57Speaker 1: Up, maybe they'll just outscore everyone and crawl back in
- 45:01Speaker 1: since the Ale West. Look at the records right now.
- 45:04Speaker 1: It allows everyone to get hot for a week and
- 45:07Speaker 1: get the.
- 45:09Speaker 2: Orioles are a game and a half out of the
- 45:11Speaker 2: wild Card. The Orioles.
- 45:15Speaker 1: It's a great call. A couple more on the finish
- 45:18Speaker 1: line here saying in the Ale West, here's another reason
- 45:20Speaker 1: why the Rangers can't separate much despite really good pitching.
- 45:23Speaker 1: Corey Seeger hasn't been himself. Now he's going to see
- 45:26Speaker 1: a back specialist. I mean, this is the best hitter
- 45:28Speaker 1: on the team, a jm R. Results pending, We'll see
- 45:32Speaker 1: what happens.
- 45:34Speaker 2: Did he have a hip or a back early in
- 45:36Speaker 2: his career with the Dodgers? It was like real early,
- 45:38Speaker 2: like twenty two or twenty three years old. Do you
- 45:40Speaker 2: guys remember a hip He had a hip problem. I
- 45:44Speaker 2: remember just being really young. And now you know that
- 45:47Speaker 2: creeps up to the back. You want them to avoid
- 45:50Speaker 2: surgery at all costs.
- 45:54Speaker 1: Yeah. Two more now National League West for the last
- 45:57Speaker 1: two Chase Dolander elbow stream.
- 46:02Speaker 2: This is the one thing I worry about when you
- 46:04Speaker 2: do openers with guys time. You worry about this because
- 46:08Speaker 2: they don't get their proper routine they say it's the same,
- 46:10Speaker 2: but it's not. I mean, I'm sorry, it's not. So
- 46:13Speaker 2: he was pitching so well too. This this sucks.
- 46:16Speaker 3: Let's let's let's let's hope it wasn't because that's a
- 46:20Speaker 3: little it's a little wonky when you get the opener,
- 46:23Speaker 3: like do I get to long toss? Well, I'm not
- 46:25Speaker 3: a long toss guy. Okay, but you're in the pen.
- 46:28Speaker 3: Are you in the first inning? Are you double barreling
- 46:30Speaker 3: with the guy that's starting the game and you're the
- 46:34Speaker 3: bulk guy? Like this was one of their best This
- 46:36Speaker 3: is their best young pitcher that's in the big leagues
- 46:39Speaker 3: right now, and you can't have him start because you
- 46:42Speaker 3: don't want him to face the top three guys in
- 46:44Speaker 3: the lineup. I just hope, but nobody will ever say, oh,
- 46:48Speaker 3: this is why you got hurt, because everybody's doing it
- 46:50Speaker 3: and they're like, well, there's no way that's why you
- 46:52Speaker 3: got hurt.
- 46:53Speaker 1: Well, I think it's why he got hurt. I'm just
- 46:56Speaker 1: gonna go out and say it. I have nothing against me,
- 46:58Speaker 1: and I if I had to guess, gun to my head,
- 47:00Speaker 1: I'm going to say, yes, they messed with this kid's
- 47:03Speaker 1: routine randomly in the middle of the season and he
- 47:07Speaker 1: was rolling and that's why he's hurt. And you want
- 47:09Speaker 1: him to be your number one. And even if you
- 47:10Speaker 1: take an injury aside, please don't screw with your top
- 47:13Speaker 1: end starters. It's really not that complicated.
- 47:16Speaker 2: But you don't make decisions.
- 47:17Speaker 3: Guys in the big leagues make decisions front offices, make
- 47:20Speaker 3: decisions that can derail kids' careers. This is a kid,
- 47:24Speaker 3: This is a guy that you were supposed to build
- 47:26Speaker 3: your organization around, similar to what they did to Bubba Chandler.
- 47:30Speaker 3: I know Bubba Chandler is not throwing strikes in Pittsburgh
- 47:32Speaker 3: right now, but you call him up because you're like.
- 47:34Speaker 2: Well, we want a softer landing spot in the big leagues,
- 47:37Speaker 2: Well we want to rockies. Who cares you, guys are
- 47:41Speaker 2: gonna lose a lot of games. You're not in the playoffs.
- 47:43Speaker 2: If he faces the first three guys in the order,
- 47:45Speaker 2: you know what it's gonna do. It's gonna make him
- 47:47Speaker 2: freaking learn how to get those guys out. And from
- 47:50Speaker 2: what I've seen, he's super competitive. Make him be a
- 47:54Speaker 2: quarterstone of your pitching staff. And if he's not, it's
- 47:58Speaker 2: not gonna matter that he faced the three guys in
- 48:00Speaker 2: the lineup for all of his starts like stop like
- 48:05Speaker 2: stop stop being stop being super like is it gonna keep?
- 48:09Speaker 3: If you told me it kept him healthy by having
- 48:12Speaker 3: an opener, then I'd be like, Okay, show me, show
- 48:15Speaker 3: me why, show me why that's gonna keep him healthy.
- 48:17Speaker 3: And until you can show me that that keeps them healthy,
- 48:20Speaker 3: then to me, it's just a selfish thing that the
- 48:22Speaker 3: front office is doing, saying.
- 48:24Speaker 2: Will theer ilgorithm says this, so.
- 48:26Speaker 3: We should do this, and when somebody gets injured like this,
- 48:30Speaker 3: I have a tough time not believing that it's not
- 48:32Speaker 3: from this.
- 48:34Speaker 1: I'm with you, it's pathetic. I mean, the Dodgers can
- 48:37Speaker 1: help train Rokie in the big leagues and he starts,
- 48:40Speaker 1: but Dolander can't start. This is the time to let
- 48:42Speaker 1: him go through it if he needs to, so that
- 48:44Speaker 1: when they're good again. He's been through these situations. Lastly
- 48:47Speaker 1: Eliott Ramos rite quad strain. So he's been a good
- 48:51Speaker 1: player for them the last few years. AJ he doesn't
- 48:54Speaker 1: get talked about a lot, but it'll hurt to not
- 48:56Speaker 1: have him for a bit of time. The Giants have
- 48:58Speaker 1: actually played five hundred ball the past month. The record
- 49:01Speaker 1: still doesn't look good, but they haven't been terrible since
- 49:04Speaker 1: the start.
- 49:05Speaker 2: Yeah, they're not making the playoffs, so I mean it
- 49:08Speaker 2: suck for Elliot Ramos, but no, bring up someone else
- 49:12Speaker 2: and try him. Maybe they'll spark the offense.
- 49:14Speaker 4: Yeah, the future is now the present in Seattle because
- 49:18Speaker 4: cold Emerson is up in the big leagues, the number
- 49:21Speaker 4: one prospect on the Mariners, the number three prospect on
- 49:24Speaker 4: the just updated Baseball America Top one hundred prospect rankings.
- 49:28Speaker 4: So what should we expect.
- 49:29Speaker 1: I would stay with this one.
- 49:31Speaker 4: We've had such a great prospect, your rookie year so
- 49:34Speaker 4: far that I would kind of calm things down just
- 49:37Speaker 4: a bit with cold Emerson. It's not that he's not
- 49:39Speaker 4: going to be an excellent player in the long term,
- 49:41Speaker 4: but he is very young for the big league's twenty
- 49:43Speaker 4: years old, and he's in the midst so far in
- 49:46Speaker 4: Triple A before the promotion of a solid year, but
- 49:49Speaker 4: not a spectacular year. There is real power here, although
- 49:53Speaker 4: it may take a little while to fully appear at
- 49:55Speaker 4: the big league level. There's bat to ball skills, barrel control,
- 49:59Speaker 4: there's all a little bit of aggressiveness right now. There
- 50:02Speaker 4: is the chance that early on he might be chasing
- 50:06Speaker 4: too many pitches out of his own, especially in two
- 50:08Speaker 4: strike counts. He's got to be a third baseman for now.
- 50:10Speaker 4: He could be the shortstop in the long term, although
- 50:12Speaker 4: third base also fits very well for him. Lefty power
- 50:15Speaker 4: bat who could really thump. In the long run, he's
- 50:18Speaker 4: going to be a very good player. He's obviously a
- 50:20Speaker 4: Mariner for the very long term. He's already signed the
- 50:23Speaker 4: long term extension. Just I would say that it would
- 50:26Speaker 4: not shock me if he ends up having a little
- 50:29Speaker 4: bit of growing pains at the big league level as
- 50:31Speaker 4: he gets settled at the highest level that there is.
- 50:36Speaker 1: And that's our spillover from our injuries suck conversation to
- 50:40Speaker 1: Baseball Americas, JJ Cooper giving us a little bit more
- 50:42Speaker 1: on cold Emerson who had to like scurry over to
- 50:45Speaker 1: get to the game and AJ Unfortunately he's replacing Brendan
- 50:48Speaker 1: Donovan who's a hell of a player and he's been
- 50:50Speaker 1: pretty durable, but this year he's getting hit and the
- 50:52Speaker 1: groin was reaggravated really quickly.
- 50:55Speaker 2: Yeah, this is what happens. It happens a lot. You see,
- 50:58Speaker 2: those guys aren't fully ready to come back and stuff happens.
- 51:01Speaker 2: So listen, I watched we mentioned we watched the Mariners
- 51:05Speaker 2: game last night. Emerson. Emerson's got all the swag. I
- 51:07Speaker 2: know that. He better hope he can play because he's
- 51:09Speaker 2: got you know, the shadows are out and he's got
- 51:11Speaker 2: the freaking Oakley's and all that. He's got the swag.
- 51:13Speaker 2: So he's got the big league swag. We'll see.
- 51:15Speaker 1: Got the big league cash too.
- 51:17Speaker 2: He does. He does. He's got a contract. And everybody
- 51:20Speaker 2: talked about his character that I that I asked about,
- 51:23Speaker 2: and somebody said, somebody said that plays with him right
- 51:27Speaker 2: now in Triple A feels like he's a Chase ut
- 51:30Speaker 2: League type of player.
- 51:31Speaker 1: And I was like, whoa wow.
- 51:33Speaker 2: I was like, Okay, let's let's see because that's a
- 51:37Speaker 2: that's a big comp.
- 51:39Speaker 1: It's a big camp. Chase Utley is gonna likely get
- 51:43Speaker 1: voted into the Hall of Fame now he's trending that way.
- 51:46Speaker 1: I mean, the Hall of Fame comp right there. I
- 52:01Speaker 1: have two things to go over. Number one, Jackson Holiday's back.
- 52:04Speaker 1: It's been a minute, but he's going to make his
- 52:07Speaker 1: debut for the Orioles.
- 52:09Speaker 2: Welcome back, Jackson. It's been a long time.
- 52:12Speaker 1: It has uh Jordan Westberg, Yeah, he is in Jordan Westberg.
- 52:18Speaker 1: You know we found out had surgery. You were off.
- 52:20Speaker 1: I think I was off that show too. That was Friday.
- 52:22Speaker 1: But a j that's a tough one. As Kratz mentioned
- 52:25Speaker 1: on Friday, the win lost record for them, and I
- 52:28Speaker 1: know it's not a one man game. It's a huge
- 52:31Speaker 1: difference when Jordan Westburg's playing. He's one of those guys
- 52:33Speaker 1: and now they're not gonna happen for the rest of
- 52:35Speaker 1: the year, but helps to get Holiday back here.
- 52:38Speaker 2: See what Jackson has?
- 52:40Speaker 1: Yeah, uh, I do remember. I mean if you are
- 52:45Speaker 1: all Hammett bones created equal, because like, does it matter obviously?
- 52:50Speaker 1: I mean for Holiday it was his throwing hamit bone right,
- 52:53Speaker 1: And for Corbyn, Carl and Lindor I think it wasn't
- 52:57Speaker 1: does like does any of that stuff for the swing
- 53:00Speaker 1: it's listening, okay, just wondering. Yeah, I mean.
- 53:05Speaker 3: Probably it would have probably been Lindor's. Lindor and Carrol's
- 53:10Speaker 3: throw a hand, so I mean, I assume it's their
- 53:13Speaker 3: bottom hand. I've never heard anybody do.
- 53:14Speaker 2: Their corn throws left handed. Gorbyn throws left hand, and
- 53:19Speaker 2: it was Lindor's left hand too. He throws right handed too.
- 53:24Speaker 1: Right, So I don't know just throwing that out there.
- 53:27Speaker 1: There's there's been some talk about, hey, you know which
- 53:30Speaker 1: hand will affect you more, But the dominant hand for
- 53:32Speaker 1: hitting is more. What you're looking at right, AJ fits
- 53:35Speaker 1: the dominant it's.
- 53:35Speaker 2: Your bottom end. It's your bottom hand. It's your bottom hand,
- 53:38Speaker 2: and you put the knob in it. That's why you
- 53:40Speaker 2: break it. So he just took a little longer. Sometimes
- 53:42Speaker 2: they take a little longer than other ones. Not everyone
- 53:45Speaker 2: heals the same.
- 53:48Speaker 1: One more. Geoe or Schelle retiring thirty four years old,
- 53:53Speaker 1: about ten seasons in the bigs. Did you play with
- 53:55Speaker 1: them Krats?
- 53:56Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I play with them with the guard with
- 53:58Speaker 3: the Indians in Triple A, and then I played with
- 54:01Speaker 3: him and with the Yankees when he came over to the Yankees.
- 54:04Speaker 3: Massive Grand Slam in the COVID season, in that first
- 54:08Speaker 3: round series against the Indians, I guess it was the
- 54:11Speaker 3: Guardians at that time, so massive, Homer, go look it up.
- 54:16Speaker 1: But I heard he was a nice guy. I mean,
- 54:18Speaker 1: he's still he is a nice guy. But I heard
- 54:20Speaker 1: he's a nice guy as a player.
- 54:22Speaker 2: Magic Glove Guante de Mahim, the glove of magic because
- 54:28Speaker 2: he could just he could pick it and you would
- 54:30Speaker 2: never look at him be like that guy can play defense. Wow.
- 54:33Speaker 2: In the games. It was the ones right at him
- 54:35Speaker 2: that he would have trouble with everything else. It was like,
- 54:39Speaker 2: I don't know if you ever want a goal glove
- 54:40Speaker 2: or not. I think he was a finalist, but he
- 54:42Speaker 2: should have.
- 54:44Speaker 1: He pieced together a nice career he did, so congrats
- 54:47Speaker 1: to him on retirement. And Dodger's Territory is coming up next.
- 54:53Speaker 1: I know Katie wuz On we missed her debut on
- 54:56Speaker 1: Friday on FT as a host Alana Clint a crew
- 55:00Speaker 1: running through what they saw from the Dodgers this weekend,
- 55:02Speaker 1: but really also previewing the big matchup between the Dodgers
- 55:06Speaker 1: and the Padres. And for those of you wondering, we
- 55:08Speaker 1: have a show for almost every team on the FT network.
- 55:12Speaker 1: It's not just about the Dodgers. They just happen to
- 55:14Speaker 1: be live following our show. But we've got multiple shows
- 55:16Speaker 1: per week for almost every team. So if you're looking
- 55:19Speaker 1: for years and a little more coverage, you can find it. Hey,
- 55:26Speaker 1: you know the game, it's swing for a shot to
- 55:29Speaker 1: win a little prize. If you get a hit. It's
- 55:31Speaker 1: the free to play Swing for the Fence's game on
- 55:35Speaker 1: the bet MGM app. It just helps you with some
- 55:37Speaker 1: of what Kratz is talking about. Maybe a boost or
- 55:41Speaker 1: a bonus bet could be a fifty dollars bonus bet
- 55:43Speaker 1: depending on the result of your ab gambling problem or concern.
- 55:47Speaker 1: There's help called Wynde hundred Gambler
