- 0:02Happy Wednesday morning to everybody.
- 0:06I'm in Pensacola, FL. I will say this and respond
- 0:12right here. The Panhandle of Florida has the
- 0:16best white sand. See this, White sand this.
- 0:19See the point of my finger? Follow the finger.
- 0:23This sand is really nice. Much nicer than the East Coast.
- 0:30Daytona Daytona's got good sand, but it's kind of that brown
- 0:34color. I think this is, I find this
- 0:35softer, whiter. What do you say?
- 0:41All right, The Herminator is going to do a coffee with Kenny
- 0:45because I have something on my mind and it it's probably
- 0:49something you would never dream of.
- 0:52So Cory Lajoie, good racer, good guy.
- 0:57I know his dad, Randy Lajoie. Randy Lajoie and myself, we race
- 1:03together. Well, his boys become a
- 1:04character, kind of like a Kenny Wallace.
- 1:07In other words, Corey's on stacking pennies.
- 1:10He's got a show with NASCAR. Good looking kid, got a lot of
- 1:14hair, got a lot of faith, you know, good looking guy.
- 1:18So anyway, I like Corey. What do you ran?
- 1:21I think he ran 4th in the Daytona 500.
- 1:24Corey did, but anyway. Corey had Shane van Gisbergen.
- 1:30This, this is the V8 driver that came over from Australia.
- 1:36OK, let me back up for that. As they say in the radio
- 1:39business, let me paint the picture for you.
- 1:43So Corey Lajoie is a good race car driver, but kind of like
- 1:48Kenny Wallace. He got a show called Stacking
- 1:51Pennies and he has Shane Van Gisbergen, the V8 driver.
- 1:57The great driver of man's of age is not like he's a child, but
- 2:04Team Track House brought him over from Australia.
- 2:08Now the reason I had to tell you all this, Now you might know all
- 2:10this, but you got to tell the back story.
- 2:14So as Corey is interviewing Shane van Gisbergen, this was
- 2:20comical and so funny. Listen to this, Chang says.
- 2:27The movie Talladega Nights was really accurate.
- 2:31It might have exaggerated a little bit, he says.
- 2:33I come over here and all these NASCAR drivers got these big
- 2:37mansions. They just, they overdo it.
- 2:39They everything's. Look at me, I'm big.
- 2:43Look, look at my plane. Look at my yacht.
- 2:46Look at my. It was so damn funny.
- 2:53It just hit everybody in the industry, right?
- 2:56So, you know, Teladega Nights was like an exaggeration, You
- 2:59know, the wealthy driver with the big, you know, you know,
- 3:04married with one kid, married with two kids, but living in a
- 3:0822,000 square foot home Now these are real numbers.
- 3:13This is not exaggeration, OK? The movie Teladega Nights might
- 3:17have exaggerated but these number these numbers are not
- 3:20exaggeration. These some of these drivers are
- 3:24living in like 1620 thousand square foot homes.
- 3:27OK now mind you, the home you're in right now, yes you're either
- 3:32in a single wide mobile home or a double wide mobile home like I
- 3:37grew up in. So my first house was like a
- 3:40single bedroom apartment off Hwy. 21 in Saint Louis or a
- 3:47single bedroom apartment, double bedroom and I grew up in a
- 3:53single, you know, trailer. Then I went on to a double wide.
- 3:57A lot of people know me from my double wide mobile home on
- 4:00Harris Rd. right there in Concord.
- 4:04And then I then I then I built my dream home and I lived in a
- 4:086000 square foot home and to be honest we really just used the
- 4:13bottom of it. It it, it kind of accidentally
- 4:16had a top and it had a nice two car garage.
- 4:21Herman, where the hell you going with this?
- 4:25So, so the story is this, why do we build homes too big?
- 4:32Why, you know, is there a rule? Is there a rule?
- 4:39Now, most of what I'm doing right now is comedy, So have fun
- 4:43with me. Respond here.
- 4:47You're making 35,065 thousand a year and you're pissed.
- 4:52You're so mad because you look at these cup drivers.
- 4:55Why the hell do they need a house that big?
- 4:59I can answer that because they can.
- 5:04Let me tell you something that I know for a fact because I know
- 5:07these things. When you're making $6 million
- 5:13base salary and we've already concluded somebody like a lot of
- 5:17the a lot of the drivers that got in before the salaries
- 5:20dipped. So.
- 5:22So remember everybody was making six $9 million base and then all
- 5:27of a sudden coronavirus come in, everything died and we heard all
- 5:31the rumors, all these young drivers, you know, the Cup
- 5:35drivers, they're making $250,000 base, that's all they're making
- 5:40cheat and death. And the baseball player makes 22
- 5:43million a year. I can look at me.
- 5:46I can hit a ball and I make $22 million a year.
- 5:51I'd be more pissed about that. Then I would be mad that a
- 5:55driver cheating death only makes 6 to 9 million a year.
- 6:00So respond right here. But I don't want to hear it, OK?
- 6:05I don't want to hear it. It it's guy hits the ball now,
- 6:09he's good at it. I get it.
- 6:11But so anyway, the subject at hand is this.
- 6:19You, you probably live in a, what, a 1300 to 1800 square foot
- 6:23home. OK, my home right now that I
- 6:26live in is 2600 square foot. All right, as Schrader would
- 6:31say, but you got a basement arm, so that's over 5000.
- 6:34Well, OK, I'll go with you. I've had some very ultra wealthy
- 6:41friends say they've had the mansions and they drive the
- 6:46people nuts because you have a mansion, you're married, you got
- 6:51the one or the two kids to see the beautiful people.
- 6:54Remember what was that singer? The beautiful people, the
- 7:01beautiful people, the beautiful people.
- 7:04What was that? Marilyn Manson.
- 7:07Marilyn Manson. The beautiful people tend to
- 7:10have one or two children because they want the perfect family and
- 7:13they want the big house. But the problem is the comedy
- 7:18comes in. Is that hell, I don't use half
- 7:21the rooms in my house. There's Mike right there.
- 7:25So you just got to listen. Hey.
- 7:30Good morning everybody. I.
- 7:32Don't know what we're talking about.
- 7:33Oh yeah, we're we're we're talking about stacking pennies.
- 7:35People that have big homes. Oh, don't.
- 7:38Don't get a big home. It's too much work.
- 7:39I got one of them. So anyway, have a ultra wealthy
- 7:43NASCAR driver, he said. Herman, he said, I rode up to
- 7:48that house and I'm tired of those lights going out.
- 7:50Got a light out here and a light out here.
- 7:53And you know who got Martin's story?
- 7:55Hold on, hold on, hold on, say it again.
- 7:57I said that's a Martin's story. So you know all the drivers they
- 8:03share. They said, man, you know, so the
- 8:07drivers, and you know what, the drivers I'm talking about, I
- 8:09don't want to call them out. The big homes.
- 8:13I'm going to answer this right now for y'all the big homes are
- 8:16basically a trophy to themselves.
- 8:19In other words, look, I'm a NASCAR champion.
- 8:22I make the 10 to $15 million a year.
- 8:25What am I going to do? I'm going to buy the big home
- 8:28because that is my trophy to myself.
- 8:32I only got one or two kids and the the joke is I bought this
- 8:36damn home and all. All we use is the kitchen, the
- 8:40living room and the bedroom. So anyway, I want to thank Corey
- 8:47Lajoie stacking pennies. Shane van Gisbergen.
- 8:51It is a comedy because Shane come from Australia and he goes,
- 8:57Corey goes, What was the biggest surprise when you got over here
- 9:00Shane goes. The biggest surprise was I
- 9:03realized how true Heladega Knights was.
- 9:06I thought it was an exaggeration.
- 9:09These cup drivers do think they're somebody.
- 9:12What do you do? You built the 20,000 square foot
- 9:15home. 10 years later you go, I'm going to sell the home.
- 9:20So it's just a comedy. Everybody should do what they
- 9:25want with their own money. But the moral of the story is
- 9:30this. Right now, I'm going to wrap it
- 9:31up. Shane Van Gisbergen.
- 9:34Insane. Talladega Nights is true.
- 9:38That's all there is to it. Well, all right everybody.
- 9:40Remember, subscribe right here. And remember we are in podcast
- 9:46form. Oh, by the way, how many square
- 9:49foot home do you have? I I'm saying let's Google it.
- 9:53The average square footage home in America I'm going to say is
- 9:571500 square foot. Tell me if I'm wrong.
- 10:00Respond right here. And I know, I know you live in a
- 10:03small home. I don't want to hear it.
- 10:06I live. I can't even live.
- 10:08I live in a tent. I get it.
- 10:11But I love you. OK, so it wasn't a comedy
- 10:17Respond right here. Is it funny or is it?
- 10:22Are you mad that those people make that money?
- 10:25All right, then respond right here.
- 10:27Are you mad that baseball players make 22 million a year?
- 10:31And NASCAR Cup drivers cheating death only makes 6,000,000 a
- 10:35year respond right here. Are you mad about that?
- 10:38All right, remember we are in podcast form, iTunes and
- 10:42Spotify.
