When The Saints Go Marching In
When we think of saints, we might imagine people from long ago, depicted in stained-glass windows, their heads surrounded by golden halos. We might think of great Christian leaders, courageous missionaries or people whose faith was so extraordinary that we remember their names centuries later … and … of course, we give thanks for them.
However, Matthew’s Gospel, 5:1-12, invites us to look beyond the stained glass and discover something much closer to home.
