- 0:00Speaker 1: Well I was there.
- 0:01Speaker 2: He is one minute late.
- 0:03Speaker 3: Huh.
- 0:04Speaker 1: I knew you were going to say something.
- 0:05Speaker 2: I knew you're going that's how you're doing it now.
- 0:07Speaker 1: One minute late, tries. I've never been anything but five
- 0:10Speaker 1: minutes early. I knew you were going to say something.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Shit, one minute late, and you got a hat on
- 0:15Speaker 2: and everything. Look at you. You got a little scully on.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Don't you find this? Weather in La is like if
- 0:19Speaker 1: you stand in one spot, it's hot, and if you
- 0:22Speaker 1: stand in another spot it's cold.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Isn't that called global warming?
- 0:27Speaker 1: No, it's probably called fall in La because in the
- 0:30Speaker 1: sun you could wear a bathing suit and then in
- 0:32Speaker 1: the shadows I need my hat.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Isn't that called global warming?
- 0:37Speaker 3: Yo?
- 0:38Speaker 1: It's voting day. This is fucking election day, everybody.
- 0:41Speaker 2: It's it's a cow. Yeah. First of all, you voted already, obviously.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Yes, of course I went and dropped it off in
- 0:50Speaker 1: the ballot box in West Hollywood. Hell I did.
- 0:53Speaker 4: I did so myself, not in West Hollywood, but uh
- 0:56Speaker 4: in my neighborhood.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 1:00Speaker 4: I'm really excited about the turnout so far, Yes I am.
- 1:05Speaker 4: I you know, you guys aren't gonna hear this until
- 1:08Speaker 4: what what what it is?
- 1:10Speaker 1: Election Day? It'll be Tuesday, Election Tuesday. We need to
- 1:13Speaker 1: be encouraging people who haven't done it to do it.
- 1:15Speaker 1: That's why we're here, not only Scrubs podcast. We're gonna
- 1:19Speaker 1: tell you to vote.
- 1:20Speaker 2: No, No, that's not why we're here.
- 1:22Speaker 4: But not only, but not only that Tonight for all
- 1:25Speaker 4: of you who've gone out and voted already, you get
- 1:28Speaker 4: to watch television and watch the election. And this probably
- 1:32Speaker 4: is gonna be like they're taking bets on this election.
- 1:35Speaker 4: This is the most anyone has ever put money down on.
- 1:39Speaker 1: We need to warn people as a public service announcement, right,
- 1:43Speaker 1: Daniel and Joel, that we may not know these results
- 1:46Speaker 1: on Tuesday. Trump is very very very very committed to
- 1:49Speaker 1: saying we need to know the results that night. That's bullshit.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Because of the incredible surge of mail in voting. Some
- 1:57Speaker 1: some states aren't even allowed to start counting until the
- 2:00Speaker 1: day of. So everyone needs to be prepared and prepare
- 2:05Speaker 1: their friends that this might not be the typical situation
- 2:08Speaker 1: where we know the result that night tonight. Sorry, I
- 2:12Speaker 1: have to speak like work like it's Tuesday.
- 2:14Speaker 5: Probably closer to two thousand when we had the whole
- 2:17Speaker 5: like hanging Chad Florida votes kind of thing happening. It'll
- 2:20Speaker 5: be a similar situation of that, where probably a week
- 2:23Speaker 5: or so after we'll have a final.
- 2:25Speaker 4: Florida Florida once again. Florida once again is the biggest.
- 2:31Speaker 4: Whoever wins. Florida is probably going to win this election
- 2:35Speaker 4: once again, and Ohio to probably, but Pennsylvania once.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Again is really the one. Pennsylvania at the end. I'm
- 2:42Speaker 1: the surprise of you because there is a little Texas
- 2:45Speaker 1: talk about Texas Flipper, which would be.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Texas all of a sudden too. That would be amazing, right.
- 2:49Speaker 1: That feels like a long shot, but there is talk
- 2:51Speaker 1: of Texas Flipper.
- 2:52Speaker 4: More people voted this year in Texas already than they
- 2:56Speaker 4: voted in two thousand and four years ago, in two
- 2:59Speaker 4: thousand and.
- 2:59Speaker 5: Six, teazing already.

- 4:47Speaker 2: Oh my god, cock soak cock soak. That's not a diss,
- 4:53Speaker 2: yeah it is.
- 4:53Speaker 1: I like making up new dishes for you anyway. So
- 4:57Speaker 1: please vote. We're begging you, We're begging you, We're begging you.
- 5:00Speaker 4: Somebody just heard my phone ring and my phone was
- 5:02Speaker 4: so loud in my headphones.
- 5:03Speaker 2: I'm sure you heard.
- 5:04Speaker 4: Dune, don't, don't do, don't do, don't don't.

- 5:21Speaker 1: obscene amount of ballots they're gonna have to count.
- 5:24Speaker 4: Well, not just not just that. Also, if it doesn't
- 5:28Speaker 4: go your way, please don't fucking go crazy. And yeah,
- 5:31Speaker 4: please don't loot, please don't please, please don't start a
- 5:34Speaker 4: civil war.

- 5:45Speaker 1: fuck this, I'll see what happens. Then then that's one
- 5:49Speaker 1: way to go. Hey, let's talk about Baby Yoda, because

- 6:05Speaker 1: plan was for him to open it live on the air.
- 6:09Speaker 1: He doesn't open it live on the air. He opens it,
- 6:11Speaker 1: he posts about it, doesn't even text me. He doesn't
- 6:14Speaker 1: even say, like, dude, thanks for hooking it up.
- 6:17Speaker 4: It didn't say it was from you. It said Side
- 6:19Speaker 4: Show Collectibles.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Yeah, well, Side Show Collectibles hooked it up because of me.

- 7:30Speaker 4: something that is sitting in my in my uh room,
- 7:36Speaker 4: where I watched The Mandalorian four times, already.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Watched it four times. It came out today.
- 7:43Speaker 4: It came out today, well it came out when it
- 7:46Speaker 4: came out.
- 7:47Speaker 2: This is supposed to be election day, but we.

- 8:13Speaker 2: I'm gonna respect.
- 8:14Speaker 4: I'm going to respect Star Wars so much that I'm
- 8:17Speaker 4: gonna curb my.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Language when talking about Star Wars.
- 8:23Speaker 4: But it's so amazing, dude, it is so it was Listen,
- 8:26Speaker 4: I I enjoyed it so much, and a friend of
- 8:29Speaker 4: mine's in it, and it was just It was just
- 8:31Speaker 4: something that I, you know, somebody who I played basketball
- 8:35Speaker 4: against and somebody who I played, you know, on the
- 8:37Speaker 4: same team, and also you know celebrity all Star games
- 8:40Speaker 4: and stuff like that is on the Mandalorian Uh in
- 8:44Speaker 4: this episode and has some iconic stuff going on with
- 8:49Speaker 4: him and I just it was just really awesome to see.
- 8:53Speaker 9: I watched it twice. I loved it about It was
- 8:56Speaker 9: really good. So much more improved is here is a
- 9:00Speaker 9: lot on season one. I think they learned a lot
- 9:02Speaker 9: from how they shot it. I feel like there's a
- 9:04Speaker 9: lot more depth. I thought the Western aspects of its
- 9:07Speaker 9: sword and there's like, ah, the way that they bring
- 9:12Speaker 9: up small things in the background of the movies and
- 9:15Speaker 9: the center of the show is just like it just
- 9:18Speaker 9: fills your Star Wars heart with love.
- 9:20Speaker 2: It's so good.
- 9:21Speaker 5: Analy you see it yet, No, I have not watched
- 9:24Speaker 5: it yet.
- 9:24Speaker 1: I think I have to wait for my girlfriend. She's
- 9:26Speaker 1: she's out of town but back tomorrow. I'm pretty sure
- 9:30Speaker 1: I have to wait she's because you know, I don't
- 9:33Speaker 1: know how it is with you and your life.
- 9:34Speaker 2: I didn't wait for my wife.
- 9:37Speaker 1: There are shows that we get in we have to
- 9:40Speaker 1: wait or we have you know she you know, we
- 9:44Speaker 1: share it. She loves it too, so we watch it together.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Have you started watching a bachelor yet?
- 9:48Speaker 1: You know what I have to do? I give this.
- 9:50Speaker 1: I didn't watch that ship.
- 9:52Speaker 2: You don't watch the Bachelor, Okay.
- 9:55Speaker 1: I mean I I, well, this is the one. It's
- 9:57Speaker 1: the Bachelorette right now, right, Yeah, I didn't. I watched
- 10:02Speaker 1: like the first episode. I was like, this is so stupid.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Why am I watching this?
- 10:05Speaker 2: Oh?
- 10:05Speaker 1: Yeah, gosh, you know what, sure that candy? You watch
- 10:09Speaker 1: it with your wife's and you watch it because that's
- 10:11Speaker 1: something you watch with your wife.
- 10:13Speaker 2: Daniel. It's so tasty.
- 10:14Speaker 1: It's so tasty.
- 10:16Speaker 2: It's so tasty.
- 10:18Speaker 1: You're just kids.
- 10:21Speaker 4: It's like you're it's like you're going to see a
- 10:23Speaker 4: Marvel movie and you've got all of the freaking candy
- 10:27Speaker 4: in your lap.
- 10:28Speaker 1: It's the Marvel movie for drama.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Oh my god'.
- 10:31Speaker 1: Just like I don't like it. I don't like the
- 10:33Speaker 1: ones where it's men competing.
- 10:36Speaker 2: It's best to see how petty men can.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Be from way more entertaining.
- 10:42Speaker 4: No, my brother, no, my bro, that's like that's like
- 10:45Speaker 4: freaking stereotypical.
- 10:47Speaker 2: You you you you, that's.
- 10:48Speaker 1: What's rather watch a bunch of women. Are you going
- 10:51Speaker 1: to watch a bunch of men? Are you?
- 10:52Speaker 4: I'm sorry, no, it's way funnier to watch men try
- 10:55Speaker 4: to stay in between the lines of not getting punched
- 10:58Speaker 4: in the face and still trying to insult somebody.
- 11:02Speaker 1: I saw the funnies. I seemed in love with the
- 11:05Speaker 1: black guy, who's the first guy she met. It was like, oh,
- 11:07Speaker 1: it seems like it's over. She was, just like, it is.
- 11:10Speaker 2: It is over.
- 11:12Speaker 4: A new bachelorette beyond, a new bacheloretto beyond, and the
- 11:14Speaker 4: two of them run off together.
- 11:16Speaker 1: In the middle of the in the middle of the show,
- 11:19Speaker 1: episode third episode.
- 11:20Speaker 4: In the third episode, Disney ABC, You're welcome for this,
- 11:26Speaker 4: for this, for this. Yah, yeah, you're shameless, shameless, and.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Some people might be upset by spoolers, but I don't
- 11:33Speaker 1: give a fuck you're telling me, she prey. Like three
- 11:36Speaker 1: episodes in, and they have been changed.
- 11:38Speaker 4: The person out it is, they changed the bachelor running
- 11:41Speaker 4: out and and and and some of the dudes like
- 11:44Speaker 4: and you see, like, especially after like all of the
- 11:46Speaker 4: me too stuff has happened, and you start to realize,
- 11:49Speaker 4: you start to recognize as a man some of the
- 11:52Speaker 4: things that aren't acceptable anymore and how men talk to
- 11:55Speaker 4: women and how all of that happens and stuff like that.
- 11:58Speaker 4: You really see some well, at least one dude just
- 12:01Speaker 4: go into like a tirade where it's like, dude, your
- 12:04Speaker 4: power move.
- 12:05Speaker 2: You're trying to pull a power.
- 12:06Speaker 4: Move on this on this young lady and that is
- 12:09Speaker 4: totally whack. And then then she flips it and she's
- 12:12Speaker 4: pulling power moves on these dudes just for this one dude,
- 12:16Speaker 4: just for this one guy.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Man, it's like, it's it's it's it's I.
- 12:19Speaker 1: I I when it came on The Bachelor at dude
- 12:23Speaker 1: fucking Marvel movie when it came on.
- 12:26Speaker 4: When it came on, I told my wife I'll be
- 12:29Speaker 4: in the other room, please don't bother me. I went
- 12:33Speaker 4: to the fridge to get like some like some uh
- 12:37Speaker 4: uh GT's kombucha. Yeah, and uh as I'm grabbing the kimbucha.
- 12:43Speaker 4: Within seconds, I was already making my way towards the couch,
- 12:47Speaker 4: asking wait, what.
- 12:50Speaker 1: It's like it's it's the only thing that you and
- 12:53Speaker 1: your wife watched together.
- 12:55Speaker 4: Yeah, because she's into all of that freaking you know,
- 12:57Speaker 4: forty eight hours and you know, I murder it.
- 13:00Speaker 1: What about sports? So she watched the sports with you.
- 13:04Speaker 4: Yeah, she's you know, she's the one that got me
- 13:05Speaker 4: into football. I wasn't really into football unless the Giants
- 13:08Speaker 4: were involved, you know, when I was a kid. And
- 13:11Speaker 4: I became a grown man and met my wife at
- 13:14Speaker 4: you know, thirty something years old in my early thirties,
- 13:17Speaker 4: and she took me to my first football game ever.
- 13:20Speaker 4: And she took me to see a New York team
- 13:22Speaker 4: play her hometown team. And it was like and we
- 13:26Speaker 4: sat in the box of the quarterbacks and shit like that.
- 13:29Speaker 4: It was like, yeah, well, you know, her best friend
- 13:33Speaker 4: was dating the quarterback.
- 13:34Speaker 2: And the Dallas Cowboys at the time. Yeah, or they
- 13:37Speaker 2: were about or they were about to date.
- 13:38Speaker 4: But anyway, it was one of the and it was
- 13:41Speaker 4: Thanksgiving and it was like my first time not really
- 13:44Speaker 4: flying home, and you know, I didn't. I was divorced
- 13:47Speaker 4: from my ex wife, God rest her soul, and I
- 13:51Speaker 4: saw I'm not going over to their house and spending
- 13:53Speaker 4: Thanksgiving with my kids. And she took me to the
- 13:55Speaker 4: Dallas for my first time really in Dallas to a
- 14:00Speaker 4: football game. And this was very early in our relationship,
- 14:03Speaker 4: and I got to hang out with, you know, the
- 14:06Speaker 4: quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys and other players. It was
- 14:11Speaker 4: really cool and she got me into football, and now
- 14:13Speaker 4: I know more about football than she does.
- 14:16Speaker 1: All right, we get in the show. Donald, why don't
- 14:17Speaker 1: you count us into some fun, fun, fun programming with
- 14:21Speaker 1: our favorite numbers five.
- 14:25Speaker 10: I'm not sure we made about a bunch of docs
- 14:30Speaker 10: and nurses.
- 14:33Speaker 7: Said, He's a story nephew.
- 14:38Speaker 10: So yeah, yeah, welcome.
- 14:48Speaker 1: To the program, everybody. We are so appreciative that you
- 14:51Speaker 1: listen to this. H We are so appreciative of you
- 14:55Speaker 1: liking just sitting around chatting with us all. We love
- 14:58Speaker 1: doing it for you. And Donald is going to summarize
- 15:02Speaker 1: the show as he often does. Often takes them roughly
- 15:06Speaker 1: thirty seven seconds. We never know what's going to happen.
- 15:10Speaker 4: Okay, so this one, with this one, I had to
- 15:12Speaker 4: I watched the show earlier and then I went out
- 15:15Speaker 4: and did my daily stuff and came back. And now
- 15:19Speaker 4: that I look at my notes, I like what I wrote,
- 15:21Speaker 4: but I feel like I missed a couple of things.
- 15:23Speaker 4: So there might be a little bit of ad libbing
- 15:25Speaker 4: in this to all.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Okay, so this is exciting for fans. Donald may Riff,
- 15:29Speaker 1: he may what do you call when a rapper, just
- 15:33Speaker 1: this is a freestyle.
- 15:34Speaker 4: Well this is well yeah, because it's not off the top,
- 15:37Speaker 4: so there is a bit of freestyle in it.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Like in my freestyle, as you are spinning some bars,
- 15:43Speaker 1: you may freestyle.
- 15:44Speaker 2: That's my dude, right there?
- 15:48Speaker 1: Can I ask us? I had no questions when guys
- 15:50Speaker 1: are like Eminem, like spitting freestyle bars, don't you think
- 15:54Speaker 1: they have it all that shit memorized? They're not really
- 15:56Speaker 1: fucking no.
- 15:57Speaker 4: But that's the difference between freestyle and off the top
- 15:59Speaker 4: of a head. So off the top of the head
- 16:01Speaker 4: is when it's completely you're making it up right there
- 16:04Speaker 4: at that moment.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Freestyle is when you're giving people.
- 16:10Speaker 4: Bars that you've written and put together already h for free,
- 16:15Speaker 4: you know what I mean, and people get to listen
- 16:17Speaker 4: to your stuff.
- 16:19Speaker 1: But that video when Eminem was like in the garage and.
- 16:21Speaker 4: He was like, no, that was off. That was off
- 16:25Speaker 4: the top of the head. Problem believe that he's you're
- 16:29Speaker 4: talking about? When he's which one are you talking about?
- 16:31Speaker 1: I don't watch a lot of this, but I remember,
- 16:33Speaker 1: like a few years ago, one or two years ago,
- 16:35Speaker 1: Eminem was like in a parking garage and all his
- 16:38Speaker 1: boys were sitting on a car, right, that did a
- 16:42Speaker 1: big spoof of it.
- 16:43Speaker 4: Yeah, that was a big That was a Beet Awards.
- 16:45Speaker 4: I believe that was off the top of the head.
- 16:47Speaker 4: I believe that was off the top of the head.
- 16:48Speaker 4: I feel like when rappers do freestyle, the verse is
- 16:52Speaker 4: a little bit more Daniel. You could correct me if
- 16:55Speaker 4: you believe I'm wrong, but I feel like the verse
- 16:58Speaker 4: is a little bit more pol when it's freestyle. Like
- 17:01Speaker 4: so if somebody goes on the radio and they're like,
- 17:03Speaker 4: spit a couple of bars and they're like, all right,
- 17:05Speaker 4: this is freestyle. It's just like a bunch of songs
- 17:08Speaker 4: that they put together or a bunch of lines that
- 17:11Speaker 4: they put together just for and it's not necessarily in
- 17:15Speaker 4: an order. But when it's but when it's off the
- 17:18Speaker 4: top of the head, they're just coming in and saying,
- 17:21Speaker 4: all right, I'm not gonna say anything that I've written before.
- 17:25Speaker 4: This is all about right now, you know what I mean.
- 17:28Speaker 5: I wanted to offer a slightly different perspective on the
- 17:31Speaker 5: same idea as a DJ. I would very rarely plan
- 17:35Speaker 5: DJ sets like I would rarely plan this song goes
- 17:38Speaker 5: into this song, goes into this song, goes into this song,
- 17:40Speaker 5: because I've been DJing for a very long time, and
- 17:42Speaker 5: with that in my head already, I have hundreds and
- 17:46Speaker 5: hundreds of one two three song combinations that I know
- 17:51Speaker 5: we're gonna work well together. So it's a freestyle freestyle,
- 17:53Speaker 5: right exactly. So over that set, I may be putting
- 17:56Speaker 5: together a couple of different pieces that I already know
- 17:59Speaker 5: work together in a set that I'm not necessarily planning.
- 18:03Speaker 5: So maybe the order of the songs I've played I've
- 18:05Speaker 5: never ever played before, but it doesn't mean that a
- 18:07Speaker 5: couple of those transitions I don't know very very well.
- 18:10Speaker 5: And I think it's the same thing with freestyle rap.
- 18:12Speaker 5: These guys have, you know, worked with these themes and
- 18:14Speaker 5: motifs and all of this stuff so much that a
- 18:16Speaker 5: lot of those rhymes, a lot of those you know,
- 18:19Speaker 5: lyrical plays are pieces that they've done over and over
- 18:23Speaker 5: and over, maybe not in that order, maybe not on
- 18:25Speaker 5: that topic, but it's a subject, it's a method that
- 18:27Speaker 5: they're very familiar with, so it's kind of, you know,
- 18:29Speaker 5: I don't want to say easier, but it's like it's
- 18:32Speaker 5: it's part of the practice, right.
- 18:35Speaker 1: I guess I'm just cynical when people are like supposedly
- 18:37Speaker 1: coming up with it, not like freestyle, just like totally totally,
- 18:41Speaker 1: totally fresh, and I'm like, come on, buddy, you've.
- 18:45Speaker 4: Well, there are some people that do have that talent, though,
- 18:48Speaker 4: there are some people that you know, to go into
- 18:51Speaker 4: a recording booth and do your verse and do it in.
- 18:55Speaker 2: One take is a talent, you know what I mean.
- 18:58Speaker 4: That means you've not only worked on it, but you're
- 19:03Speaker 4: so connected to the beat that you're able to ride
- 19:06Speaker 4: the rhythm.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Also, you know, that's different a guy goes in, doesn't
- 19:10Speaker 1: he usually write it out when he goes into the
- 19:11Speaker 1: coin booth.
- 19:12Speaker 4: Well, sometimes he writes it at that moment and then
- 19:14Speaker 4: goes in or as jay Z. Jay Z is one
- 19:17Speaker 4: of the masters of freestyle. O Lil Wayne, he was
- 19:20Speaker 4: one of the masters of freestyle. But if you don't
- 19:23Speaker 4: write your rhymes and you just try to think of
- 19:25Speaker 4: it in your you know, you think about Biggie the
- 19:28Speaker 4: Notorious b ig is the king of this where he
- 19:30Speaker 4: would sit in the studio and just listen to the beat,
- 19:34Speaker 4: and as he listened, he'd sit there and rehearse it
- 19:37Speaker 4: in his head right, and then as it went on,
- 19:41Speaker 4: as it got to the point where you know, you know,
- 19:43Speaker 4: like you know, I don't know how long it would take.
- 19:46Speaker 4: He'd be like, all right, I'm ready. And if he'd
- 19:48Speaker 4: go into the booth and drop what he was rehearsing
- 19:54Speaker 4: to do that, that's freestyle to me, you know what
- 19:56Speaker 4: I mean, Like it's like in my mind, all right,
- 19:58Speaker 4: I'm gonna say this, this, this and this and and
- 20:00Speaker 4: at this part, I'm gonna try and freak it like
- 20:02Speaker 4: this okay, And then I said right right right, and
- 20:04Speaker 4: then always go back and when you listen to it,
- 20:07Speaker 4: the ah and the you know what I mean, him
- 20:09Speaker 4: catching the beat, all of that shit is so raw
- 20:12Speaker 4: because it's it's not written, it's it's him feeling it
- 20:16Speaker 4: and being in it. That's a bit of freestyle right there,
- 20:19Speaker 4: you know what I mean. That's a that's a and
- 20:22Speaker 4: that's what makes the great ones. Jay Z is another
- 20:24Speaker 4: one that does that. I heard Lil Wayne somebody that
- 20:27Speaker 4: does that. I heard He just would just go on
- 20:30Speaker 4: for days, sit in front of a little microphone and
- 20:33Speaker 4: a keyboard and just rap and rap and rap and
- 20:35Speaker 4: rap and rap and rap and rap and rap and
- 20:37Speaker 4: rap and rap and rap.
- 20:38Speaker 1: That's how it was when I did my passover rap
- 20:41Speaker 1: that I sang for you guys a while back.
- 20:43Speaker 2: And did you sing your passover rap or was that.
- 20:47Speaker 1: On something else? Didn't I do my passover rap for
- 20:50Speaker 1: you guys?
- 20:50Speaker 2: I don't think so. I don't think I've ever heard
- 20:52Speaker 2: your passover wrap.
- 20:54Speaker 5: Yeah you said, yeah, you did your passover wrap?
- 20:56Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, Donald, Yeah, when you were talking, you were talking,
- 20:59Speaker 1: it was sane. Halen Zach took a trip to Boston.
- 21:03Speaker 5: Uh something about like something like the reasons?
- 21:05Speaker 10: I know?
- 21:05Speaker 1: Just remember your comb? Yeah, now I was fired, Donald,
- 21:09Speaker 1: Thanks for remembering.
- 21:10Speaker 2: I remember, dog? What can we hear it again?
- 21:14Speaker 1: Yeah? One day, four people took a trip to Boston, Elayine,
- 21:17Speaker 1: halen Zach, and an Auti five thousand. The reason for
- 21:19Speaker 1: the trip was passover time. If we snood some bread
- 21:22Speaker 1: and it would be a crime. Just remember, on this
- 21:24Speaker 1: five hour trip McDonald's then Burger King, we would skip.
- 21:28Speaker 1: The reason for this deed was pass over time. If
- 21:31Speaker 1: we snooked some bread and it will be a crime.
- 21:33Speaker 1: Why don't we go so far when we could pray
- 21:35Speaker 1: at home? The reason was unknown? Just remember your comb.
- 21:41Speaker 2: That slick ma. You know you know what I love
- 21:44Speaker 2: about that? I love about what.
- 21:47Speaker 4: I love that as a youth, you understood that your
- 21:49Speaker 4: parents were just taking you on this long ass journey
- 21:52Speaker 4: so that you would not think about food. But on
- 21:54Speaker 4: this journey you guys passed McDonald's and Burger King and
- 21:58Speaker 4: all of these.
- 21:59Speaker 1: This was at the time of like the Beastie Boys,
- 22:02Speaker 1: like fight for Your Right to Party era, right, So
- 22:05Speaker 1: that was my introduction as a Jewish kid in North Jersey.
- 22:09Speaker 1: I didn't know anything about any other rap really, other
- 22:13Speaker 1: than the Beastie Boys singing you Gotta fight, Oh you're right.
- 22:18Speaker 2: That's the only Beastie Boys you knew as.
- 22:20Speaker 1: No I knew the whole album. I'm just saying that
- 22:22Speaker 1: I I you can go ahead and make your jokes
- 22:25Speaker 1: that that was my introduction to rap. But that's what
- 22:27Speaker 1: it was.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Let me ask you one question, but one that record.
- 22:31Speaker 2: What was your favorite song?
- 22:34Speaker 1: I would have to look at the track list. I
- 22:35Speaker 1: don't have a memorized the one with the plane right,
- 22:37Speaker 1: and the one with the plane on.
- 22:38Speaker 2: Yeah. Now, did you like Paul Revere at all?
- 22:41Speaker 1: Yes, I even got some of that memorized.
- 22:44Speaker 2: I think that's one of the best.
- 22:45Speaker 1: I didn't like this. I didn't like that I did
- 22:48Speaker 1: it with it with a ball back. So the run
- 22:50Speaker 1: the cops got my gun and run about. Now I'm
- 22:52Speaker 1: trying to have some fun. They can't got rock that
- 22:54Speaker 1: is my name? And I got the flats, fared about
- 22:56Speaker 1: the champagne.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Okay, zb got old school, y'all?
- 23:02Speaker 1: All right, come on, let's talk about this fucking TV show, Scrubs.
- 23:05Speaker 1: That's why people are here. Oh wait, all right, so
- 23:06Speaker 1: do your recap? Ready?
- 23:07Speaker 2: Here we go.
- 23:10Speaker 1: And start.
- 23:11Speaker 2: Calor and Elliott are best friends thanks to Eric a strata.
- 23:15Speaker 4: Doctor Kelso orders the hospital stethoscopes, but pays the price
- 23:19Speaker 4: for trying to cut the corners JD's dating Jordan's sister,
- 23:23Speaker 4: and Cox hates this so much that he tries to
- 23:26Speaker 4: sabotage it. No relationship is perfect. You have to nurture
- 23:30Speaker 4: all relationships, all of them, whether they be at work
- 23:33Speaker 4: or with a person, and oftentimes just showing up isn't enough.
- 23:37Speaker 4: Effort is required, and sometimes it's hard to muster up
- 23:41Speaker 4: the energy to do so because life is exhausting. But
- 23:46Speaker 4: if you have love, you fight for it. If you
- 23:49Speaker 4: love what you do, you follow through. Your effort and
- 23:53Speaker 4: attention to others' needs could be what's required to save
- 23:57Speaker 4: a relationship.
- 23:59Speaker 1: Amen. Amen, Relationships are hard. Don you got to work
- 24:02Speaker 1: at it.
- 24:03Speaker 2: You gotta work.
- 24:04Speaker 4: But it's not just But it's not you know, I
- 24:07Speaker 4: you know, that's that's that's the theme of this show.
- 24:09Speaker 4: But it's not just you know, with another person. Your
- 24:13Speaker 4: relationship with your job is just as important your relationship
- 24:16Speaker 4: with you know, how you are with the outside world.
- 24:21Speaker 4: If that I don't I don't know. I don't know
- 24:22Speaker 4: how you would describe that relationship. But who you are
- 24:24Speaker 4: when you step in front of the world is just
- 24:27Speaker 4: as important as you know, how you manifest and nurture
- 24:31Speaker 4: your personal relationship.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Question is in all your relationships do you want to
- 24:35Speaker 1: put in the work or do you want to run.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Or right right? Or do you want to or do
- 24:41Speaker 2: you want to just see what happens?
- 24:42Speaker 4: And and you know, Cox and jd are a perfect
- 24:46Speaker 4: example of two dudes. I just wanted to get the
- 24:49Speaker 4: fuck out of the hospital and you know, because of
- 24:53Speaker 4: this annoying patient and realize at dinner that they're being
- 25:00Speaker 4: a little too insensitive and that holy cow, maybe we
- 25:03Speaker 4: you know, we're not seeing the signs because we're not
- 25:07Speaker 4: paying attention to our job. We're not doing the best
- 25:10Speaker 4: that we're not being the best that we can be,
- 25:12Speaker 4: and we're not listening to what this young lady is
- 25:14Speaker 4: saying to us.
- 25:15Speaker 2: And and so.
- 25:16Speaker 4: At the end when they rushed back to the hospital
- 25:18Speaker 4: when they realize what the problem is, you know that
- 25:22Speaker 4: that really that was a big moment for me because
- 25:24Speaker 4: this episode isn't necessarily my favorite episode.
- 25:27Speaker 2: It's not necessarily the fast.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Did you find it odd though? I mean, it didn't
- 25:31Speaker 1: cross their minds that she I mean, she fucking ate pesticide,
- 25:35Speaker 1: Like they didn't cross their mind that, like she might
- 25:37Speaker 1: be suicidal. I thought that was a little weird.
- 25:38Speaker 2: That was very well, you know, we were like.
- 25:42Speaker 1: We've done all these tests and we even sent some
- 25:46Speaker 1: people to your house, and we just can't figure out
- 25:48Speaker 1: why there might be pesticide in your system. I don't know.
- 25:51Speaker 1: I just thought was a little weird. It's you know, hey,
- 25:54Speaker 1: but what do I know. I'm not a genius. Bill Lawrence,
- 25:57Speaker 1: who showed Ted Lasso just got picked up for two
- 26:00Speaker 1: more seasons.
- 26:01Speaker 2: That's amazing congratulation.
- 26:02Speaker 1: You know how big that show is internationally and domestically.
- 26:05Speaker 1: That I mean, they picked it up for they haven't
- 26:07Speaker 1: even started season two, and they picked up two and three.
- 26:12Speaker 1: That's so crazy because speaking.
- 26:13Speaker 10: Of interrupting.
- 26:20Speaker 11: A compliment, interrupting Bill, Oh, he's into all right, I'm
- 26:27Speaker 11: trying to.
- 26:29Speaker 10: This.
- 26:30Speaker 11: I've missed you guys. You're doing a great job on
- 26:33Speaker 11: my podcast.
- 26:34Speaker 1: I appreciate it.
- 26:36Speaker 11: So here is the question for today, and don't cheat
- 26:41Speaker 11: my fifteen seconds. Every time you guys entered Jill Tracy's room.
- 26:47Speaker 11: Doctors only spend fifteen seconds with a patient average, and
- 26:51Speaker 11: a clock comes up. One question one. Do you think
- 26:56Speaker 11: that's a real thing or that we made it up
- 26:59Speaker 11: for the show?
- 27:01Speaker 1: I think it must be a real thing. It's too
- 27:02Speaker 1: weird to not to me, it's too random and weird
- 27:06Speaker 1: to have been made up. It does feel short as
- 27:09Speaker 1: someone who's unfortunately spent a bunch of time in hospitals
- 27:12Speaker 1: in the last few years. But I feel like he
- 27:14Speaker 1: wouldn't pull that out of his butt.
- 27:16Speaker 2: I think they made it up.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Okay, all right, let's find out wrong or right.
- 27:23Speaker 11: It's not really a real thing, and we did make
- 27:28Speaker 11: it up for the show, because I find that if
- 27:32Speaker 11: you put a small dramatic thing like that in there
- 27:34Speaker 11: that people believe it actually kind of helps your storytelling.
- 27:37Speaker 11: But the even more crafty cheating aspect to this. Every
- 27:44Speaker 11: time you went in there and the fifteen second clock
- 27:46Speaker 11: showed up, do you think it was actually fifteen seconds?
- 27:49Speaker 1: No, it wasn't. I know that. I know that from
- 27:51Speaker 1: scrubs Wiki. I'm sorry that's a bit of a cheat,
- 27:54Speaker 1: but they scrubs Wiki, of course points out how those
- 27:57Speaker 1: segments are by no means fifteen seconds. Let's find out
- 28:02Speaker 1: correct it was not.
- 28:05Speaker 11: I think one of them might even be twenty seven
- 28:07Speaker 11: or thirty seconds. But we just slowed down the countdown
- 28:10Speaker 11: so we could do whatever we want. And that's how
- 28:12Speaker 11: you cheat in television.
- 28:14Speaker 1: There you go, Thank you, interrupting Bill for that.
- 28:17Speaker 2: I like that. That was a very fun interrupting Bill
- 28:20Speaker 2: for me.
- 28:20Speaker 1: It was you know why. You know, I thought, because
- 28:23Speaker 1: he's the top show runner in town this week, that
- 28:26Speaker 1: he might come on extra cocky. But no, he held
- 28:30Speaker 1: it together, He held his ego and check.
- 28:34Speaker 2: I'm actually going to dinner.
- 28:35Speaker 1: I'm going to dinner with him and Christa tonight. So
- 28:38Speaker 1: if there's anything you want me to do them, you.
- 28:41Speaker 4: Know, tell them I'm getting in shape. I got a
- 28:43Speaker 4: job that's gonna, you know, make me get in shape
- 28:47Speaker 4: for a little while.
- 28:48Speaker 1: What Are you hiding from the audience? What job is this?
- 28:51Speaker 1: Do you not want to talk about it?
- 28:53Speaker 2: No, we could talk about it. You know this might
- 28:55Speaker 2: get cut, but.
- 28:57Speaker 1: Oh you can be we can beep it or something.
- 29:00Speaker 2: I signed on to do, like, oh.
- 29:07Speaker 1: Oh Joelle's gonna lose your mind? What cool booking? Congrats?
- 29:16Speaker 4: Yeah, and so we'll see what happens with that. I
- 29:19Speaker 4: don't know if I'm allowed to talk about it, but
- 29:21Speaker 4: you goutys.
- 29:22Speaker 1: We could beep it. We can beat the title. But
- 29:25Speaker 1: so is that pushing your training into full gear? Are
- 29:28Speaker 1: we pelotoning the ship out of us ourselves? Now?
- 29:31Speaker 4: Yeah, there's some nudeness perhaps, Oh are we going to
- 29:35Speaker 4: see your eel? You're not going to see my eel. No,
- 29:38Speaker 4: there's there's no way that Casey will allow that. Casey's like,
- 29:42Speaker 4: I don't want anybody seeing your butt or your eel.
- 29:45Speaker 4: I don't want to see booty or frontal just casey.
- 29:49Speaker 4: Casey is like, you can show chest, you can show
- 29:52Speaker 4: you can show belly button, what you can.
- 29:55Speaker 1: You're allowed to do it can show crease, you can
- 29:59Speaker 1: to do a sexy.
- 30:00Speaker 4: Well apparently apparently I have to simulate sex on the
- 30:03Speaker 4: in the in the in the show.
- 30:05Speaker 1: So how can Casey, How can Casey limit your ability
- 30:09Speaker 1: as a handsome male actor to do a sex scene.
- 30:11Speaker 4: I don't believe it because the showrunner made the mistake
- 30:14Speaker 4: of saying, you don't have to do the nudity part
- 30:18Speaker 4: isn't necessarily important.
- 30:20Speaker 1: I think we should see you. You have a nice bubble,
- 30:23Speaker 1: and I think the earth needs to see it. Bounce
- 30:26Speaker 1: the earth, Yeah, bounce the whole earth. Well, anyone who
- 30:30Speaker 1: watches the show should see that. Shouldn't bounce, right, Joel.
- 30:35Speaker 10: Yes, if you're comfortable with that.
- 30:40Speaker 6: Higher know.
- 30:42Speaker 4: Casey's not comfortable with the Casey's like, ain't nobody seeing
- 30:45Speaker 4: your ass bounce?
- 30:46Speaker 1: I wish she would. She's got to loosen up about that.
- 30:49Speaker 2: She probably will loosen up about it by the time
- 30:52Speaker 2: we get to it. As of right now. As of
- 30:54Speaker 2: right now, she's like, do you really want people to
- 30:56Speaker 2: see how you fuck? Is that what you really do?
- 31:00Speaker 1: You want to show how good you are? Well, you're
- 31:03Speaker 1: ill be getting its own credit? Or are you share
- 31:05Speaker 1: a credit? All right, let's talk about it.
- 31:09Speaker 2: We share a title sequences, sharing card. It's just shared card.
- 31:14Speaker 1: Speaking of names for cos. That's how the show opens up.
- 31:17Speaker 1: J D's name is his Penis's name is little Buddy.
- 31:22Speaker 1: He doesn't like that. He wishes it was named big
- 31:24Speaker 1: al And. And this moment when I'm dancing naked in
- 31:30Speaker 1: front of Tara Reid is what I told you in
- 31:31Speaker 1: the last episode, when my sock fell off and she
- 31:35Speaker 1: was able to see my giblets in their entirety.
- 31:39Speaker 2: That's and I remember thinking.
- 31:42Speaker 1: Like I remember thinking, no, this might might have been
- 31:45Speaker 1: nice for her, but I remember thinking like, oh no, Tara,
- 31:48Speaker 1: it's there's a lot of air conditioning, and I have
- 31:52Speaker 1: more to offer the world than what you're seeing. For
- 31:56Speaker 1: sock's sake, just stop talking about will Is Sorry, Jeb, sorry,
- 32:00Speaker 1: Dev Just one more second.
- 32:02Speaker 2: Deb we're getting into what we talk But do you
- 32:06Speaker 2: have a name for your stuff my junk?
- 32:10Speaker 1: No, I don't, I don't, I don't.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Do you Well, you've named my junk eel eel, black whale.
- 32:22Speaker 1: I never called it plucked whale. How have you when
- 32:25Speaker 1: you you had to do this too for for Scrubs
- 32:30Speaker 1: when that episode where you're walking in through the parking lot,
- 32:33Speaker 1: so you just take a tube sock and you just
- 32:35Speaker 1: kind of tuck everything in, and that's what that's what
- 32:39Speaker 1: fell off when I started doing that wacky dance.
- 32:41Speaker 4: You didn't put like you didn't try to put like
- 32:42Speaker 4: a rubber band at the base.
- 32:45Speaker 1: Well, I didn't want to cut off circulation and lose
- 32:47Speaker 1: a nut.
- 32:48Speaker 2: You're not going to cut off circulation, dude.
- 32:50Speaker 1: The what if they were like, the scene is that's
- 32:52Speaker 1: a cut on the scene, Zach, your scrotum is blue.
- 32:56Speaker 2: They make these things.
- 32:58Speaker 1: And oh well, oh oh, I didn't. I did not.
- 33:04Speaker 1: I didn't have anything professional like that.
- 33:09Speaker 2: Sorry.
- 33:09Speaker 4: You were very very very uh secure in the fact
- 33:14Speaker 4: that a sock would be able to keep little buddy covered.
- 33:19Speaker 1: Well, I learned the hard way. No pun intended donald
- 33:22Speaker 1: that that it did not work. So Tara Reid, you're welcome.
- 33:26Speaker 1: You're welcome. So color me mine. Uh. The very very
- 33:31Speaker 1: adorable African American man next to me is Pooky, who
- 33:34Speaker 1: was one of our main lighting electricians on the show
- 33:37Speaker 1: for almost the whole run of the show.
- 33:40Speaker 2: He was Pooky in the beginning, and he was like,
- 33:42Speaker 2: I don't want to be called Pooky no more. My
- 33:43Speaker 2: name is Chris.
- 33:44Speaker 1: I never got a change. Maybe that was you being
- 33:47Speaker 1: tough guys like alpha males. He was always pooky to me.
- 33:50Speaker 2: Nobody.
- 33:51Speaker 4: He changed his name to everybody halfway through because he
- 33:54Speaker 4: was sick and tired of being called Pooky.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Well, I never heard that. I never got the memo.
- 33:58Speaker 1: If I saw him today, i'd give him a well,
- 33:59Speaker 1: I wouldn't able to give him a big hug, but
- 34:01Speaker 1: I'd yell Pooky.
- 34:02Speaker 2: Remember when Pooky lost all that weight too?
- 34:04Speaker 1: Yeah. By the way, he may have been in the
- 34:06Speaker 1: rerun dance sequence.
- 34:08Speaker 2: Absolutely, he was.
- 34:09Speaker 1: Absolutely he was great guy, really really great guy.
- 34:13Speaker 2: Yeah. What one of one of our favorites.
- 34:15Speaker 1: Yeah, and he was one of you know, some of
- 34:17Speaker 1: the some of the crew members did the whole nine
- 34:19Speaker 1: years with us, and I think Pooky came and went
- 34:22Speaker 1: a little bit, but he was with us almost the
- 34:23Speaker 1: whole time. Yes, you know, electrician doing setting up and
- 34:27Speaker 1: setting and focusing the lights.
- 34:29Speaker 10: Uh.
- 34:30Speaker 4: He and he made a lot of and he made
- 34:31Speaker 4: a lot of cameos on the show. This is this
- 34:34Speaker 4: is the beginning of seeing him. Yeah, this is the
- 34:36Speaker 4: beginning of seeing him. But you'll you'll reckon, You'll find
- 34:39Speaker 4: him a lot more.
- 34:39Speaker 1: As there's a gag reel moment in one of the
- 34:42Speaker 1: seasons where where I'm running lines with him. He was
- 34:45Speaker 1: playing do you remember that he was playing.
- 34:47Speaker 4: Yeah, we actually filmed it and it wasn't. You guys
- 34:51Speaker 4: weren't running lines. Somebody was supposed to be in the scene.
- 34:54Speaker 1: They were like, all right, Pooky, it wasn't I think Elliot.
- 34:57Speaker 4: Yeah, and they're like, Pooky, you get up in there
- 34:59Speaker 4: and do it. And he gets in there, and we
- 35:01Speaker 4: all thought he was gonna freaking uh, you know, be like,
- 35:03Speaker 4: I can't do.
- 35:04Speaker 1: It, guys, And he played the ship out of it.
- 35:06Speaker 2: He played that. He went hardcore with it too.
- 35:08Speaker 1: The funny thing is he still had like all his
- 35:10Speaker 1: gear on. He had like his walkie talking earpiece and
- 35:13Speaker 1: all that ship. But he just played it, played it
- 35:14Speaker 1: so straight like he was Elliott or something.
- 35:16Speaker 2: It was really good, man. It was really awesome. Man.
- 35:19Speaker 1: All right, listen, I don't know if it's us, Tara
- 35:23Speaker 1: and I I'm feeling it's probably stunted people that fall
- 35:25Speaker 1: out of that tree. But you can totally see the
- 35:27Speaker 1: mat that's hidden under like a really lame piece of
- 35:31Speaker 1: astro turf.
- 35:32Speaker 2: I just love, I just love.
- 35:33Speaker 4: I love the fact that j D's ideal date with
- 35:36Speaker 4: the girl to kiss for the first time was in
- 35:41Speaker 4: a tree.
- 35:42Speaker 2: Yeah, He's just like just like the song, Just like
- 35:45Speaker 2: the song K S I n J.
- 35:48Speaker 1: That's right, yeah, I JD is such a fucking dork.
- 35:52Speaker 1: It's amazing he got these great women because he is
- 35:55Speaker 1: so nerdy.
- 35:56Speaker 4: I think it's so endearing. I think it's so endearing
- 35:58Speaker 4: that this is how JD is. I think you don't.
- 36:01Speaker 4: You don't think his sense it?
- 36:03Speaker 1: No, I do. I think he's nerdy and charming and
- 36:05Speaker 1: people and women and men depending on what you're gonna do,
- 36:11Speaker 1: love to laugh, and so he gets I'm guessing he
- 36:14Speaker 1: gets chicks. I mean obviously is doctor, which is impressive,
- 36:18Speaker 1: but also because he's silly and goofy and makes him laugh.
- 36:21Speaker 2: Oh, he reminds me of Hugh Grant And what's that.
- 36:25Speaker 1: In every Hugh Grant movie?
- 36:26Speaker 4: Right, pretty much but him and Julia Roberts, Oh, notting Hill,
- 36:31Speaker 4: nodding Hill, and how Hugh Grant's kind of like oopsie Daisy,
- 36:35Speaker 4: like JD says things like that, and that's I don't know,
- 36:37Speaker 4: that's endearing. I totally get why JD has such a
- 36:42Speaker 4: great uh is a ladies man.
- 36:46Speaker 1: How about that door hit I do at three twenty eight?
- 36:48Speaker 1: That was pretty damn nice. If I wrote that if
- 36:50Speaker 1: I can, if I give myself a comedic stunt pat
- 36:53Speaker 1: on the back, it's a nice door hit. And I
- 36:54Speaker 1: don't think i'd done a glass door hit since the pilot.
- 36:57Speaker 1: So there you go, ladies and gentlemen. I think that's
- 36:59Speaker 1: the first time I've run into that what's supposed to
- 37:03Speaker 1: be the very same door, although in the pilot we
- 37:05Speaker 1: all know we were in a different hospital.
- 37:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:07Speaker 4: And the fact that these two are so comfortable, you know,
- 37:11Speaker 4: in the fact that the fact that JD is so
- 37:15Speaker 4: comfortable in Cox's house fooling around with this young lady
- 37:21Speaker 4: is a little that that was just caught me kind
- 37:25Speaker 4: of off guard when he walked in and he was
- 37:26Speaker 4: like and he's yelling at the two of you for
- 37:29Speaker 4: you know, cuddling and being all cutesy in the morning
- 37:31Speaker 4: and stuff.
- 37:32Speaker 2: Yeah, that caught me off guard.
- 37:34Speaker 4: Like the fact that JD feels that comfortable now that
- 37:37Speaker 4: he's willing to bang in doctor Cox's house is.
- 37:39Speaker 1: It's pretty funny though, when I when I when he
- 37:41Speaker 1: catches me naked, and I hold up the picture of
- 37:43Speaker 1: his baby in front of.
- 37:44Speaker 4: My mind and he's like, right, well that and then
- 37:47Speaker 4: I turn it around and it's and By the way,
- 37:50Speaker 4: it's the season one promotional picture.
- 37:53Speaker 1: Yeah, like way to go Props department, Like, let's just
- 37:56Speaker 1: grab a fucking Scrubs promo pic of him and put
- 37:59Speaker 1: it in the frame. That was funny. Yeah, a waffle
- 38:03Speaker 1: time song. He's like, do not sing thee when I
- 38:06Speaker 1: come in the kitchen. I'm like, waffule time, it's waffle
- 38:09Speaker 1: of time. Won't you have some waffles up mine? I
- 38:11Speaker 1: don't know if that's the melody.
- 38:13Speaker 2: I was gonna ask you, because at the end of.
- 38:16Speaker 1: You have some waffles of mine? I forgot what the
- 38:19Speaker 1: melody was, but.
- 38:19Speaker 4: We'll be at the end of it. You you sing
- 38:22Speaker 4: along with him. So was this something that you two
- 38:25Speaker 4: made up at that moment.
- 38:26Speaker 1: No, he's like, you're talking about how comfortable he is.
- 38:28Speaker 1: Jad's walking into his kitchen and like morning, waffull time,
- 38:31Speaker 1: waffull time, Won't you have some waffles of mine?
- 38:34Speaker 4: But as in but as actors, was this something that
- 38:36Speaker 4: Bill was like, this is how the song goes? Or
- 38:39Speaker 4: was it something that John c made up? Or was
- 38:40Speaker 4: it something that you know what I mean, because.
- 38:42Speaker 1: I probably made it up. I don't know if John
- 38:44Speaker 1: sees the stupid silly jingle maker up or like I am,
- 38:48Speaker 1: because I can have a whole career as a jingle writer.
- 38:51Speaker 4: Donald, word, Oh, why aren't you doing that? There's so
- 38:55Speaker 4: much money in it?
- 38:56Speaker 1: Not really, No, there's not, Yeah, there is it.
- 39:00Speaker 2: And that Dudley Moore movie funny, What was the Dudley movie?
- 39:03Speaker 1: What year was that? Dude?
- 39:05Speaker 2: They were freaking killing it.
- 39:06Speaker 1: But you know who wrote Dunn the dun round ball Rock?
- 39:13Speaker 1: John Tesh, John Tesh.
- 39:14Speaker 2: Johnesh, dude, John Tesh.
- 39:17Speaker 1: John wrote more jingles.
- 39:19Speaker 2: Have you ever seen any believe? Have you ever seen
- 39:21Speaker 2: John Tesh at Red Rock?
- 39:23Speaker 1: No? I don't know what that is.
- 39:25Speaker 2: It's him playing due.
- 39:26Speaker 1: At the venue.
- 39:26Speaker 5: Yeah wait, that's where he did the round ball rock thing.
- 39:29Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah yeah.
- 39:30Speaker 5: Red Rocks is the avenue in Colorado.
- 39:32Speaker 1: Oh, Red Rocks I've heard of. Yeah, beautiful out to
- 39:34Speaker 1: our venue.
- 39:35Speaker 2: But he goes.
- 39:36Speaker 1: But Donald, I thought you'd be impressed that. I know,
- 39:38Speaker 1: d that's fucking John Tesh's greatest hit.
- 39:44Speaker 5: You guys have seen the video where he describes coming
- 39:46Speaker 5: up with that, right, No, but do you think he.
- 39:48Speaker 1: Made Do you think that was just a buyout or
- 39:49Speaker 1: did you make nine zillion dollars off of it? What
- 39:53Speaker 1: maybe could be Wait what Dan, what was unique about
- 39:56Speaker 1: him coming up with it? Oh, it's just it's just
- 39:58Speaker 1: so funny because he sends himself a voicemail where he's like, hey,
- 40:02Speaker 1: uh listen, just remember this one for later, but I'll
- 40:08Speaker 1: talk to you later about and it's.
- 40:10Speaker 5: Just like a voicemail he plays at Red Rocks for everybody,
- 40:13Speaker 5: I'm gonna find the video.
- 40:14Speaker 1: I'll send it to you. Oh that's no. But there's
- 40:20Speaker 1: a lot of if you're interested in this topic, for
- 40:22Speaker 1: those of you, for those of you are a little
- 40:24Speaker 1: bit confused. John Tesh was the host of Entertainment Tonight
- 40:28Speaker 1: for basically most of our childhood, and.
- 40:31Speaker 2: Him and Mary Heart.
- 40:32Speaker 1: Yeah, and that was this is back when there weren't
- 40:34Speaker 1: all these other streaming things, so it was like what
- 40:36Speaker 1: was on you watched Entertainment Tonight. And he was an
- 40:39Speaker 1: entertainment journalist and he had this side hustle which was
- 40:43Speaker 1: probably way more lucrative than being an entertainment anchor, where
- 40:47Speaker 1: he would write jingles and if you look up, if
- 40:49Speaker 1: you google it, he wrote a lot of fucking music
- 40:52Speaker 1: and a lot of jingles. You know.
- 40:53Speaker 2: Now, he was a concert pianist.
- 40:55Speaker 1: Dude, Okay, Well, I'm saying he also, in addition to
- 40:59Speaker 1: the that's song, what is that the NBA fucking jingle?
- 41:02Speaker 1: He wrote a lot.
- 41:04Speaker 2: It's actually only the NBA on the NBC, that's what
- 41:06Speaker 2: he wrote.
- 41:08Speaker 1: A right, Well, I wouldn't have known that.
- 41:09Speaker 4: Well it's not it's not the NBA song anymore. If
- 41:12Speaker 4: you don't hear that song anymore.
- 41:13Speaker 1: You know what else he wrote? You know what else
- 41:14Speaker 1: he wrote? What you're trying to get into? What?
- 41:19Speaker 2: No, he did not do not give that man credit
- 41:21Speaker 2: for writing that.
- 41:22Speaker 1: But I'll tell you what I could. I could pull
- 41:24Speaker 1: up on my phone. In a similar way, when when
- 41:26Speaker 1: Donald and I were about to do the podcast, they
- 41:28Speaker 1: said we got to have a dope theme song. And
- 41:31Speaker 1: I played to Donald like something like this, and then
- 41:34Speaker 1: Donald sent something back to me like riffing on it
- 41:36Speaker 1: someday off to play you. And that's what we sent
- 41:38Speaker 1: to Charlie, who then went and made it dope.
- 41:40Speaker 2: Well. It was a genius idea.
- 41:43Speaker 4: You were like, it should be like the Jeffersons, and
- 41:45Speaker 4: I was like, oh shit, but we turned it into
- 41:48Speaker 4: like and I know we're just reminiscing. He turned it
- 41:52Speaker 4: into a freaking fire.
- 41:54Speaker 1: It's it's a pop.
- 41:55Speaker 2: It's a bop.
- 41:56Speaker 1: It's a bop. All right, we have a fan and
- 41:59Speaker 1: we're gonna go to break. We will be right back
- 42:00Speaker 1: after these words.
- 42:09Speaker 2: Well, gentlemen, we're bad back.
- 42:13Speaker 1: We're back. We're back with the Amanda ca Bobby, give
- 42:16Speaker 1: it to her, Donald, give her the give her the Oprahmanda, Bobby. Holy, Yes,
- 42:26Speaker 1: it's true, Amanda, it's real. It happened.
- 42:29Speaker 10: Hi.
- 42:30Speaker 2: I am not.
- 42:31Speaker 3: I started drinking wine because I was nervous, and I
- 42:33Speaker 3: was like, I don't know if that's a good or
- 42:34Speaker 3: bad thing, so we'll figure it out.
- 42:36Speaker 2: I guess I'm drinking wine too. It's okay.
- 42:38Speaker 1: Oh really, I we had a new uh, let's not
- 42:41Speaker 1: drink during the podcast rule. Donald, Okay, I I I
- 42:48Speaker 1: broke that. OK. Good to know, Amanda. You're welcome to drink.
- 42:52Speaker 1: Welcome to the program. How are you? Where are you?
- 42:55Speaker 1: What's going on?
- 42:56Speaker 8: I'm good. I am in my apartment in Hoboken, New.
- 42:59Speaker 1: Jersey, represent.
- 43:02Speaker 2: Pro Boken in the house.
- 43:05Speaker 3: I am Jersey through and through in one of those
- 43:07Speaker 3: ways where I'm like suburban Jersey, not Jersey Shore Jersey.
- 43:10Speaker 1: I'm sure like me. Yes, yes, we people like us
- 43:13Speaker 1: don't like that Jersey Shore stereotype because that's not us.
- 43:18Speaker 2: Are you a Saku sushi eater?
- 43:20Speaker 1: Oh my god, he's gonna he's just gonna drop the
- 43:23Speaker 1: few Jersey things he knows.
- 43:24Speaker 2: He knows like a Jersey and Hoboken. When you get that,
- 43:26Speaker 2: when you get the app Well, what's the best sushi you.
- 43:28Speaker 1: Can find is in Hoboken in Jersey City.
- 43:30Speaker 4: It's in Hoboken. When you get the opportunity, Saku, when
- 43:33Speaker 4: you get a chance, soak who Hoboken Sakhu Hoboken. Remember
- 43:37Speaker 4: I said this to you.
- 43:38Speaker 1: You know why they call it bro Boken, Amanda, because
- 43:41Speaker 1: of all the bros, frat boys. There's a lot of
- 43:43Speaker 1: frap is. It's still that way when I was. When
- 43:45Speaker 1: I was around, it was like, oh, I'm not going
- 43:46Speaker 1: to bro Boken very much.
- 43:48Speaker 3: So so I also went to Rutgers University, and I
- 43:51Speaker 3: feel like it was very much.
- 43:52Speaker 8: Did you go to Rutgers too?
- 43:53Speaker 1: No, I just have a lot of friends with to Rutgers.
- 43:55Speaker 3: Love it well, it just it felt like we like
- 43:57Speaker 3: graduated Rutgers and some people weren't ready and they moved
- 44:00Speaker 3: into downtown.
- 44:01Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, I remember the percentage of baseball hats backwards
- 44:06Speaker 1: was very high.
- 44:07Speaker 4: Also, hope Oken floods like a beast, doesn't it.
- 44:12Speaker 8: Absolutely, I moved to the top of the hill.
- 44:15Speaker 3: I pay a fucking astronomical amount in rent, but I
- 44:18Speaker 3: don't flood luckily.
- 44:20Speaker 1: Right on, did you vote to Amanda? You know today
- 44:23Speaker 1: just this is made before you answer, this is oh good.
- 44:25Speaker 1: You're wearing a voting T shirt just to remind uh you, Amanda.
- 44:30Speaker 1: This is airing on election day Tuesday, so we're encouraging
- 44:33Speaker 1: everyone who hasn't to vote. But you're wearing a voting
- 44:35Speaker 1: T shirt, so you did vote.
- 44:37Speaker 8: I'm wearing Well, I'm going to drop it off this weekend.
- 44:40Speaker 1: I have it here. Thunders applause, Dan Thunder supply.
- 44:44Speaker 2: Turned key is turned.
- 44:47Speaker 1: Good Jersey not usually a swing state, but I think
- 44:53Speaker 1: we usually go blue. But we'll see, we'll see what
- 44:55Speaker 1: happens today. It's today.
- 44:57Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 44:57Speaker 1: What do you do, Amanda for for to pay for
- 45:00Speaker 1: your fancy apartment?
- 45:02Speaker 8: Well, I am a video producer.
- 45:04Speaker 3: I work in development, so like video development, TV development
- 45:07Speaker 3: at Hearst Magazines, so we have like Cosmos men's health.
- 45:12Speaker 8: I know you guys are always talking about men's health.
- 45:14Speaker 1: Yeah, Donald and I want to get on the cover
- 45:16Speaker 1: if we get our abs enough, If you could put
- 45:18Speaker 1: in a recommendation for us.
- 45:19Speaker 8: I will hook it up. I will do what I can.
- 45:22Speaker 1: My life goal is to one day before they shovel
- 45:25Speaker 1: me in a hearst, to have my abs so impressive
- 45:27Speaker 1: that they're like, he's got to be on the cover
- 45:29Speaker 1: of Men's Health.
- 45:29Speaker 2: Come on, guys, right that.
- 45:32Speaker 4: I want to be in that, and you know what
- 45:33Speaker 4: I want to do that one. And People's Most Beautiful,
- 45:36Speaker 4: Like I've been dying for that one. I know I'm
- 45:39Speaker 4: getting a little long in the tooth and everything like that.
- 45:41Speaker 1: Well, you mean the sexiest man Alive. That's not gonna
- 45:43Speaker 1: happen for you, dude. No, you can be in Most Beautiful,
- 45:47Speaker 1: but you're not. You're too old to be the sexiest
- 45:48Speaker 1: man alive.
- 45:50Speaker 8: You never know, you never know.
- 45:52Speaker 1: I think you're the sexiest man alive. Don't give me
- 45:54Speaker 1: that face. But it's usually someone younger, like a you know,
- 45:58Speaker 1: it's the younger, younger kind of thing. No, okay, I
- 46:01Speaker 1: take it back. I'm sorry, can you. Yeah, he's lost
- 46:06Speaker 1: the ability to speak, which is so which is so
- 46:09Speaker 1: hard for him. I really fucked him up.
- 46:11Speaker 8: I'm sorry.
- 46:14Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 46:16Speaker 2: By the way, do you have a question, Amanda?
- 46:18Speaker 1: Yeah, by the way, by the way, I digress for
- 46:21Speaker 1: a moment. When we last week talked about virtual having
- 46:25Speaker 1: sex via VR with each other, everyone and their cousin
- 46:29Speaker 1: weighed in that there is, of course a Black Mirror
- 46:31Speaker 1: episode about this, So thank you for reminding us. If
- 46:34Speaker 1: you don't watch Black Mirror, and watch Black Mirror, but
- 46:36Speaker 1: there's a very very fascinating, slash bizarrely hilarious, interesting commentary
- 46:43Speaker 1: on sexuality episode of Black Mirror, including VR sex between
- 46:48Speaker 1: two hetero friends. So there you go, Amanda, Amanda a mana.
- 46:54Speaker 1: Do you have a question for us to cheer Donald up?
- 46:56Speaker 1: The sexiest man alive? In my eyes?
- 46:59Speaker 2: I can't. You can't. You can't know.
- 47:01Speaker 4: No, No, I'm Amanda, I I am. I am not
- 47:05Speaker 4: the sexiest man alive. According to zach I put I put.
- 47:10Speaker 4: My best friend said to me, Oh no, you're never
- 47:14Speaker 4: gonna get that. Those were his exact words. I'm just
- 47:17Speaker 4: gonna put it out there. Oh no, you're never gonna
- 47:19Speaker 4: get that. I my heart is I don't.
- 47:24Speaker 2: I don't you could it's us.
- 47:28Speaker 1: The funk up? Look at.
- 47:36Speaker 2: You aren't so bad?
- 47:41Speaker 8: Shall I bring you together?
- 47:42Speaker 1: With the question, yes, please, the subject is horrible.
- 47:46Speaker 8: All right, Well, I.
- 47:47Speaker 3: Hope this brings up good memories, not bad memory. But
- 47:51Speaker 3: one of my questions was, so, what is the worst
- 47:54Speaker 3: trouble the two of you have gotten into together, whether
- 47:57Speaker 3: it was on set of scrubs or not on set
- 47:59Speaker 3: of scrubs?
- 48:00Speaker 2: How are you going to ask me this question? I
- 48:02Speaker 2: can't answer this question. I can't answer this question.
- 48:06Speaker 4: We got into a lot of trouble that a lot
- 48:08Speaker 4: of trouble that we've gotten into we can't even talk about.
- 48:11Speaker 2: There were there were.
- 48:12Speaker 4: Times where speak carefully, I am, I'm trying my hardest
- 48:16Speaker 4: to right now. There were times where I was like,
- 48:22Speaker 4: I can't believe that should happen or we got I
- 48:29Speaker 4: can't believe we put ourselves into that situation and that
- 48:33Speaker 4: should happen.
- 48:34Speaker 1: Yeah, you don't want to give a lot of money
- 48:36Speaker 1: and a lot of fame to two guys in their
- 48:38Speaker 1: mid twenties. No expect that they're not going to.
- 48:41Speaker 4: Get You don't want to do it to You don't
- 48:43Speaker 4: want to do it to anyone in their mid twenties,
- 48:45Speaker 4: not to guys, to anyone in their mid twenties.
- 48:49Speaker 2: Too much money at a young age is not a
- 48:51Speaker 2: good thing.
- 48:51Speaker 1: We had some adventures and uh, and that's all we'll
- 48:55Speaker 1: say is as it pours another glass of wine for himself.
- 48:58Speaker 1: And in the after noon, Amanda, we'll give you another
- 49:02Speaker 1: question because that one we can't really fully answer.
- 49:05Speaker 8: Okay, fine, that's fair. So I was actually gonna ask
- 49:08Speaker 8: so Zach.
- 49:09Speaker 3: I'm like obsessed with Garden State High School. We would
- 49:13Speaker 3: probably literally pass away if she knew this was.
- 49:15Speaker 8: Happening right now.
- 49:16Speaker 1: Wow.
- 49:17Speaker 3: And so I also was like, I'm nerdy where I
- 49:20Speaker 3: listened to the commentary and I'm pretty sure I remember
- 49:22Speaker 3: you saying something about a bunch of PA's you had
- 49:24Speaker 3: to have them.
- 49:25Speaker 8: Drive really slow in the four or five to create traffic.
- 49:28Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 49:29Speaker 3: So I work in production also, and I'm constantly asking
- 49:32Speaker 3: our pas to do crazy shit. And I've had to
- 49:35Speaker 3: do crazy shit. So I'm wondering, what is your guys,
- 49:38Speaker 3: what's the craziest thing you guys have had to do
- 49:39Speaker 3: early on in your career?
- 49:42Speaker 1: Oh? Wow, gosh, questions. Those are good questions. Yeah, PA,
- 49:47Speaker 1: I had to do a lot. There's a lot of
- 49:49Speaker 1: stuff as a PA that was just stupid and dangerous.
- 49:52Speaker 1: They would have us go lock up when you're when
- 49:54Speaker 1: you're up, precious, they would go lock up that street,
- 49:57Speaker 1: meaning don't let anyone come down, and it'll be like
- 49:59Speaker 1: in really dangerous neighborhood at night, and I'd be like
- 50:03Speaker 1: the little nerdy kid, like being like, excuse me, everyone,
- 50:07Speaker 1: you're not allowed to come down the street. If you'll
- 50:09Speaker 1: be like fuck you, I'd be like, uh, guys, guys
- 50:13Speaker 1: were making a video and like and there were a
- 50:17Speaker 1: few times, there are many many times in Manhattan and
- 50:21Speaker 1: at night where I really almost got my ass kicked
- 50:24Speaker 1: begging people to not walk down a street because we
- 50:27Speaker 1: were making some like Mariah Carey video or something.
- 50:30Speaker 8: You were probably a really good fucking PA.
- 50:32Speaker 1: Then I was a good PA because the rest of
- 50:34Speaker 1: the pas were getting high in the fucking cube truck
- 50:36Speaker 1: and like not doing and they I was so into it.
- 50:39Speaker 1: I wanted to be a director at so badly. I
- 50:41Speaker 1: wanted to be a filmmaker so badly. So they come
- 50:43Speaker 1: over the walking and be like, we need PA's doing this,
- 50:45Speaker 1: and like no one would reply. So I'd be like
- 50:48Speaker 1: I'm on it, and I'd run over there and do it.
- 50:50Speaker 1: And then they'd be like, Okay, now we need a
- 50:51Speaker 1: PA to be doing this, and I'd be like, no answer,
- 50:53Speaker 1: because they're all just fucking getting high. And I'd be like,
- 50:56Speaker 1: I'll do that too, and like, so I was just
- 50:58Speaker 1: running all over the place. I was like, I wanted
- 51:01Speaker 1: to be like the best pa in the history of pas.
- 51:04Speaker 1: Oh my god, what about you, Donald? Did you have
- 51:06Speaker 1: any odd crazy jobs someone made you do? No, because
- 51:09Speaker 1: you kind of got it you were well early. No,
- 51:11Speaker 1: you never had a real job.
- 51:14Speaker 4: No, I did have a real job. Actually, it's an
- 51:16Speaker 4: interesting story. So after I had I had a little
- 51:22Speaker 4: bit of success early on in my career, Like I
- 51:24Speaker 4: did a bunch of commercials and stuff like that. And
- 51:27Speaker 4: because of that, I, you know, as a young actor
- 51:31Speaker 4: in New York City, I would always go to my
- 51:33Speaker 4: agent's office and hang out.
- 51:36Speaker 2: And so I got to know my agents and.
- 51:39Speaker 4: Made my face very recognizable so that if anything came through,
- 51:42Speaker 4: they would be like, Yo, we're gonna send Donald out
- 51:45Speaker 4: on this. I made myself so available there that they
- 51:49Speaker 4: needed somebody to work at the front desk. And I
- 51:52Speaker 4: was like, Yo, you know what, I'll take the job.
- 51:55Speaker 4: I'll take the job. I'll do that, and they were like, okay, bet,
- 51:59Speaker 4: And so I learned what it was like to be
- 52:02Speaker 4: an agent.
- 52:02Speaker 2: I sat, I you know, looked at breakdowns.
- 52:05Speaker 4: I you know, the agents, would you know, write down
- 52:08Speaker 4: the the art the actors or artists who they wanted
- 52:12Speaker 4: to go out for these parts, and I would, you know,
- 52:16Speaker 4: have to type it all up and write the letter
- 52:18Speaker 4: and send it out to all of the casting directors
- 52:20Speaker 4: for the submissions. Right, And I got I didn't get
- 52:23Speaker 4: good at it, but this was a great way for
- 52:25Speaker 4: me to submit myself on things that I really wanted
- 52:27Speaker 4: to be in. Like if it came through and my
- 52:31Speaker 4: name wasn't on it, I would secretly type my name
- 52:33Speaker 4: into that shit and be like Donald Faison and I
- 52:35Speaker 4: put my my my head shot in and send it
- 52:38Speaker 4: out for submissions. I think it clueless, and I got
- 52:42Speaker 4: to go out of town for a really long time,
- 52:44Speaker 4: but I want to keep the job because, you know,
- 52:46Speaker 4: as an actor, you're like, I gotta you gotta make
- 52:48Speaker 4: I'm making money and I'm getting a paycheck, so I'm
- 52:50Speaker 4: able to buy the shit I want. And I asked
- 52:52Speaker 4: my mom and I'm like, Mom, will you take over
- 52:55Speaker 4: for me? Will you work the desk for me? And
- 52:58Speaker 4: she was like, yeah, absolutely, no problem. And so while
- 53:01Speaker 4: I'm away doing clueless. She works this job for me.
- 53:05Speaker 4: And when I come back, I'm like, okay, Mom, I
- 53:10Speaker 4: want my job back. And the agents at my agency
- 53:12Speaker 4: were like, no, you know what, Donald, that's no longer
- 53:15Speaker 4: your job.
- 53:16Speaker 2: We want to give it to your mom.
- 53:20Speaker 4: And I was like what, and they were like, yeah,
- 53:22Speaker 4: we're gonna We're gonna give it to your mom, and
- 53:24Speaker 4: your mom is going to work as the front desk.
- 53:27Speaker 4: So my mom was already working in theater and she
- 53:29Speaker 4: was like a director at the National Black Theater in Harlem,
- 53:32Speaker 4: and she'd you know, she'd worked with a bunch of
- 53:35Speaker 4: actors in the community and everything like that, and so
- 53:37Speaker 4: she had a real her finger on the pulse when
- 53:40Speaker 4: it came to young African American or old African American
- 53:44Speaker 4: actors in New York City. And as time went on,
- 53:49Speaker 4: working at the front desk, she then moved on to become,
- 53:53Speaker 4: you know, an agent, and you know, well, she tapped
- 53:58Speaker 4: into the community that she, you know, knew very well
- 54:02Speaker 4: and now has so many people working on Broadway. She's
- 54:06Speaker 4: broke so las Lonzo, she broke him, like you know,
- 54:09Speaker 4: to this.
- 54:10Speaker 1: Day, when I run into there's so many times I
- 54:12Speaker 1: run into African American actors in New York, and their
- 54:15Speaker 1: way into me is like yo, yo, Shirley Faison's my agent,
- 54:20Speaker 1: like like they know that that's the way to start
- 54:22Speaker 1: talking to me because of Donald.
- 54:23Speaker 4: It gets it gets bigger than that though, and then
- 54:26Speaker 4: it turns into my mom is now you know, working
- 54:30Speaker 4: with all of these like they're Leah, Michelle, Kristen Bell,
- 54:34Speaker 4: like the.
- 54:35Speaker 1: So she bade the funny thing, your mom took your
- 54:37Speaker 1: desk job, and then it's like working girls, she all
- 54:39Speaker 1: of a sudden became like a super powerful agent.
- 54:42Speaker 4: Within a few years this happened, and it was all
- 54:45Speaker 4: because of this odd job that I wanted, Like this
- 54:48Speaker 4: wasn't a just I don't know that many actors that
- 54:50Speaker 4: work at their agent's office.
- 54:51Speaker 2: That just doesn't sound never.
- 54:52Speaker 1: Knew that trivia about you. See, even I am learning
- 54:54Speaker 1: Donald Faison trivia on this very podcast.
- 54:59Speaker 4: For man DOCKU Man, I ain't gonna be I'm not
- 55:06Speaker 4: sexy enough for you, so fuck you, man.
- 55:08Speaker 2: You ain't no no trivia about me. You don't care
- 55:11Speaker 2: about me. You don't even think I'm trussy.
- 55:13Speaker 1: You know, you may have had a shot at that
- 55:15Speaker 1: if your wife would allow you to have your ass
- 55:18Speaker 1: bopping up and down on that fucking show. Women, women
- 55:23Speaker 1: and gay men really like to see a man's ass
- 55:29Speaker 1: bounce in a sex scene on TV. Right Joell.
- 55:35Speaker 3: To weigh in, Ye, honestly, sex scenes, I don't know
- 55:40Speaker 3: what is wrong with me.
- 55:41Speaker 8: They make me so uncomfortable.
- 55:43Speaker 1: I know I agree because you.
- 55:45Speaker 2: Know how the sausage is made. You see, you've see
- 55:48Speaker 2: how exactly what I'm talking about.
- 55:50Speaker 1: Do you remember making you uncomfortable?
- 55:52Speaker 4: It makes you uncomfortable, Zach, But you are thrusting your
- 55:56Speaker 4: throwing me into the fucking fire.
- 55:58Speaker 1: I want something.
- 55:59Speaker 2: I want to see your ass. I want to see
- 56:01Speaker 2: your ass.
- 56:02Speaker 1: If you could feel if I had, if I had
- 56:04Speaker 1: your ass, I would write sex scenes into my own
- 56:07Speaker 1: movies and just bounce my shit. No, but listen, do
- 56:09Speaker 1: you guys remember when we were growing up, Yeah, and
- 56:12Speaker 1: then for some reason, the character's ass is bouncing. When
- 56:15Speaker 1: we were growing up, it was every fucking movie, it
- 56:17Speaker 1: was like, and now it's time for the sex scene.
- 56:19Speaker 1: It was like incorporated into the movie.
- 56:22Speaker 3: You know, I was eleven watching Garden State with the
- 56:26Speaker 3: sex scene.
- 56:26Speaker 8: We cut around it, we cut around people, the people scene.
- 56:30Speaker 1: Oh that yeah, oh yeah, sorry. Remember being like but
- 56:33Speaker 1: that was meant to be out that was meant to
- 56:35Speaker 1: be outrageous. But like the Natalie scene, we weren't about
- 56:38Speaker 1: to do like a fucking sex scene. We like, we
- 56:40Speaker 1: start making out and then you cut to us cuddling.
- 56:42Speaker 1: I but do you remember, like it was like you
- 56:44Speaker 1: couldn't have a movie back in the day where it
- 56:46Speaker 1: was like the music would start and they'd be shooting
- 56:49Speaker 1: through like the foggy of lens and you'd like, oh
- 56:53Speaker 1: my god, it's time and people would liked it. It
- 56:55Speaker 1: was like a turn on. I guess it was like,
- 56:56Speaker 1: oh this was maybe it was like people are on
- 56:58Speaker 1: a date and this is gonna get them rale up
- 57:00Speaker 1: to go home and hook up. But now, yes, now
- 57:03Speaker 1: in movies, I think it's it's pretty odd right to
- 57:08Speaker 1: see like a real sex scene unless there's a unless
- 57:11Speaker 1: there's a genuine reason for it. When it cuts, like
- 57:14Speaker 1: you just want to like, okay, they start making out
- 57:16Speaker 1: and then cut to later. We don't need to see
- 57:18Speaker 1: them fucking fuck unless of course they have Donald's ass.
- 57:22Speaker 1: What do you guys think on this topic?
- 57:25Speaker 4: Yeah, I find sex scenes uncomfortable now in movie theaters,
- 57:28Speaker 4: mainly because I you know, I movies that were acceptable
- 57:33Speaker 4: to us when we were younger. I can't show my
- 57:36Speaker 4: kids now and so movies that come on and all
- 57:39Speaker 4: of a sudden something that's very sexual.
- 57:41Speaker 2: And I like the fact.
- 57:42Speaker 4: I'm sorry, but I like the fact that my kids
- 57:44Speaker 4: have no idea what sexual what sexuality is, what you know,
- 57:50Speaker 4: what you know? I love that fact about them right now,
- 57:53Speaker 4: and they don't need to learn about that. And I
- 57:55Speaker 4: don't want to tank that. I don't want them to
- 57:58Speaker 4: have to see that until they're ready. And I don't
- 58:03Speaker 4: me personally, I don't think as a seven year old
- 58:06Speaker 4: in a five year.
- 58:06Speaker 1: Old, right, I'm just talking about like that change in this.
- 58:09Speaker 1: I'm not talking about it like that. Joelle, what do
- 58:10Speaker 1: you write your thoughts on this? You're a pop culture expert.
- 58:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 58:13Speaker 9: I think sex scenes are good if they are improving
- 58:17Speaker 9: the story, if they're telling story. I don't like when
- 58:19Speaker 9: it's like and now, like two hot people smashing bodies.
- 58:22Speaker 2: It's weird.
- 58:23Speaker 9: But like normal people. Those series on Hulu like those
- 58:26Speaker 9: sex scenes, like show how the characters evolve through time
- 58:28Speaker 9: and over their relationship and they're like essential to the storytelling.
- 58:31Speaker 9: And so I feel like yes, and also like what
- 58:33Speaker 9: you're gonna ask me. You guys are actual actors, but
- 58:35Speaker 9: I always feel like it's weird to ask actors to perform
- 58:37Speaker 9: them if it's not pertinent to the story, like who
- 58:40Speaker 9: is this for? What's happening?
- 58:42Speaker 2: I disagree with you, guys. I think sexy.
- 58:44Speaker 4: I think sex scenes make me uncomfortable, but I think
- 58:47Speaker 4: they're I think everybody loved Game of Thrones and that
- 58:50Speaker 4: had some ridiculous, you know, sex scenes in it that
- 58:53Speaker 4: had nothing to do with pushing the story forward, you know,
- 58:56Speaker 4: And so in.
- 58:57Speaker 1: The beginning they did. Then they started becoming like weird,
- 59:01Speaker 1: I thought.
- 59:01Speaker 5: And also also to that point, Amelia Clark decided she
- 59:04Speaker 5: was not doing any more nude scenes after the reactions
- 59:06Speaker 5: to all that stuff, So I think there was a
- 59:09Speaker 5: bit of a gratuitous nature to it that kind of
- 59:11Speaker 5: soured what Maybe even.
- 59:13Speaker 9: Georgia r Minin was upset with the way some of
- 59:15Speaker 9: them and days like, this is not how they were
- 59:17Speaker 9: written in the book or.
- 59:17Speaker 2: Why they were there.
- 59:19Speaker 4: Well, she did, but that didn't stop them from having
- 59:22Speaker 4: them in the show, and it was it was, it
- 59:24Speaker 4: was very prominent in the show, and we all watched
- 59:28Speaker 4: and loved that show, so we can't really say.
- 59:32Speaker 2: I'm just in the last episode.
- 59:33Speaker 1: I'm just saying, I'm saying the last scenes. I'm just saying.
- 59:36Speaker 1: In the eighties and nineties and a lot of R
- 59:38Speaker 1: rated movies, it was like if I felt like people
- 59:41Speaker 1: thought it was mandatory you went to an R rated movie,
- 59:44Speaker 1: you went on your date. But where's our sex scene?
- 59:46Speaker 2: You know?
- 59:47Speaker 4: I don't know, man, some of my favorite movies didn't
- 59:48Speaker 4: have sex scenes. And I'm like The Breakfast Club or.
- 59:53Speaker 1: I'm talking about like we.
- 59:54Speaker 4: Could go through all the John Hughes movie. These are
- 59:57Speaker 4: big ass movies for that time.
- 59:59Speaker 1: Though, you know what I mean, you're picking the wrong genre.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: I'm talking about our rated sort of thriller.
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: At the time. At the time those movies were out, though,
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: we were.
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: Like, you'll like to see not every movie has a
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: sex scene. Like Annie, for example, no sex scenes in Annie.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: Miss Hannigan never rides.
- 1:00:17Speaker 8: You just say they cut it.
- 1:00:20Speaker 4: That would have been the best musical number ever. That
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: would have been the best musical number ever.
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: It's not why.
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: What what's the man?
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: I'm sorry you had to see that? All right?
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: A man?
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: No, it's time for everyone's favorite segment. Donald stop laughing,
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: But I think I've won you back. Ready, it's time to.
- 1:00:43Speaker 10: Fix your life?
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: All right? How can we help our favorite Jersey girl?
- 1:00:50Speaker 8: All right?
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: Well, so this is not just fixing my life, it's
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: going to fix basically all of my friend's lives.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: Also on it.
- 1:00:56Speaker 8: Ready, So I.
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: I mean, it just turned twenty seven. It's quarantine. I'm
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: like newly single, all these different things. I think I'm
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: in the.
- 1:01:04Speaker 8: Throes of a quarter life crisis.
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: Yeah, how does one get through a quarter life crisis?
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: You got to go through. But there's work you can do.
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: There are there are books and podcasts and seminars, and
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: one can take action. That's what I think. I think
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: I've When I was going through a lot of that stuff,
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: I did a lot of work on myself. Some of
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: it was as simple as a therapist just to get
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: myself talking. But I would ask for self help book recommendations,
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: I took workshops. I you know, there's all Now there's
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: Ted Talks. I mean, there's You can't just sit back
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: and like my attitude about life when you're in crisis mode,
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: even if it's mild or real crisis, like in this
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: episode there's a suicidal story. Is that you have to
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: be proactive. You have to you you can't just sit
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: and wait for it to fix itself. You have to
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: to to take steps to to do the work.
- 1:02:08Speaker 3: I mean, I have fired so many therapists just because
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: I always pick fights with them, because that's the kind
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: of person I am. But my brother just told me
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: to read this book The Art of Not Giving a
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: Fuck or something.
- 1:02:18Speaker 8: But yeah, you guys have any books that you recommend.
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: I'm not a strong reader, so you know.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: Donald only reads the back of the Star Wars video
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: game box.
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: And then also in Star Wars comics.
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: Are also in terms of dating, which always cheers people up.
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: Are you are you actively trying? Are you on the
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: apps or are you trying to meet somebody new?
- 1:02:44Speaker 8: Yeah, I'm on the apps.
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: The apps just like I don't know if it's just
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: my area, what produced like a certain lot of bros.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: You got a lot of bros there. You maybe have
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: to go to Manhattan.
- 1:02:54Speaker 8: You know, And I changed my location to Manhattan.
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: I don't know if it's like I'm not playing the
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: app game right or what, but I either the people
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: I either don't get any action on the apps or
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: the action I get is.
- 1:03:04Speaker 8: Like and literally forgive me, but like the first message
- 1:03:07Speaker 8: is sit on my face, and I'm like.
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: You're not.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: I want to Okay, that's funny that that's someone's pickup line,
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: sit on my face.
- 1:03:14Speaker 8: I've gotten that three times important.
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: Wow. I'm so sorry. Wow these apps, man, Joelle, don't worry.
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: We're going to find you a good one, not not
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: whatever one she's on. Okay, good, I look forward to krying.
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: We're trying to set you well up. No one's going
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: to say sit on my face to you, Joel. We're
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: going to protect you.
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: Thank you much. Well, at least not on the first
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: freaking DM. That's very weird.
- 1:03:38Speaker 8: Hi first, then.
- 1:03:38Speaker 4: App right, at least be like, Hi, my name is Roger,
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: sit on my face at least that, right.
- 1:03:45Speaker 9: Do you mind if I give Amanda some advice on
- 1:03:47Speaker 9: this quarter like crisis situation?
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: Yes? Please, you're way smarter on you than anybody.
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: You're probably Yeah, you're the one to go to for this.
- 1:03:55Speaker 9: I recently having come out of my quarter like crisis.
- 1:03:57Speaker 9: It is the sage of twenty five twenty seven taid Okay, okay, okay, okay.
- 1:04:01Speaker 9: So you're getting towards the end of the craziness, right,
- 1:04:05Speaker 9: and the best advice I got at that age was like,
- 1:04:10Speaker 9: twenty eight and twenty nine are going to be so hard.
- 1:04:12Speaker 9: But all the work that you're doing, all the stuff
- 1:04:14Speaker 9: you're pushing through, all the things you're discovering about yourself,
- 1:04:17Speaker 9: all the people you're dating and rejecting or trying to accept,
- 1:04:21Speaker 9: all the friendships that will either fall apart or strengthen
- 1:04:24Speaker 9: during this time, Like all of that will solidify by
- 1:04:28Speaker 9: thirty and then it's like I've learned all of the lessons, Right,
- 1:04:32Speaker 9: the very challenging part of your late twenties is over,
- 1:04:35Speaker 9: and like by the time you hit thirty, it's like, oh,
- 1:04:37Speaker 9: I get what I had to go through all of that.
- 1:04:39Speaker 9: So it sucks when you're in it, but like, don't panic.
- 1:04:42Speaker 9: It's how it's supposed to be. It's the struggle is
- 1:04:46Speaker 9: fortifying you for all of the great things that are
- 1:04:48Speaker 9: about to happen. Right, and you're like very solid in
- 1:04:51Speaker 9: your career. It sounds like it sounds like you've developed
- 1:04:54Speaker 9: a strong voice. You clearly seem to know yourself pretty well.
- 1:04:57Speaker 9: So you know, give's all some time. Maybe find a
- 1:04:59Speaker 9: therapist that knows how to fight you back. My therapist
- 1:05:03Speaker 9: constantly looks at me and goes, you know, uh, is
- 1:05:05Speaker 9: that real what you're telling?
- 1:05:06Speaker 7: Oh?
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: Maybe not.
- 1:05:07Speaker 9: I She's like, right, so you know, let's steal in
- 1:05:09Speaker 9: this direction.
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: Also, what I remember writing when I about Garden State
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: was that I felt like my teen years were my
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: body's puberty and my twenty years were my mind's puberty. Yes,
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: because there's so much happening. You're figuring out who you are,
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: who you want to be, what kind of relationship you
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: truly want, what kind of job you want, where you
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: want to live. Like all of this is happening, and
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: it's changing all the time, just like when you're going
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: through puberty, changes and you're like, what the fuck is
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: this new feeling that's happening in your mind? So I
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: would A big thing I would see to you is
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: don't make it wrong, Like this is normal. I think
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: people start having panic attacks when they go what's wrong
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: with me? It's like you, I mean, as you know,
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: I made a fucking movie about it, Like this is
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: this is very, very very normal everything that's happening you
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: and so many people are going through what you're going through.
- 1:06:03Speaker 4: I not to sound like the downer of it, but
- 1:06:08Speaker 4: I think everybody's in crisis always, you know what I mean.
- 1:06:10Speaker 4: I think life is so exhausting as it is that
- 1:06:14Speaker 4: we're always like, when this is over, you're going to
- 1:06:17Speaker 4: find something else to fixate on and focus on, and.
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: That'll be your next dilemma.
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: But for the most part, you have to go through
- 1:06:29Speaker 4: it and know that this is a journey and know
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: that you're doing this. Everything that you're doing now is
- 1:06:35Speaker 4: setting up what comes later. And I think, yeah, you know,
- 1:06:39Speaker 4: I don't recall my twenties being a crisis, and maybe
- 1:06:43Speaker 4: because I numbed it by going out and partying and.
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: Experiencing.
- 1:06:49Speaker 4: You know, being in a pandemic doesn't necessarily help where
- 1:06:53Speaker 4: we're you know what I mean that kind of You're.
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: Going through these feelings and the dating conundrum during this pandemic,
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: which is just so extra hard, and I really really
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: feel for you.
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: I don't understand people who date on the apps in
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: the middle of COVID. I'm like, you're gonna get it,
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: you know, it's Russian.
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: Roulette, especially if you're sitting on people's faces. All right.
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: I don't know if we've fixed your life, but we
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: at least are here to cheer you on and say
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: we care about you and and you're not alone. And
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: I'm a big proponent of therapy. We promote a couple
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: of the different apps on here that I have not
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: just bullshit because we promote them. I have friends that
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: use them and really have gotten great results from them.
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: Good thing about them is if you don't like the
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: person on the first try, you can just keep changing
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: until you find somebody you like. And I think people
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: have gotten good results of that. Just I know a
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: lot about therapy because I have two parents that are psychologists.
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: So I've gotten a lot of success out of a
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: type of therapy called someone who's a cognitive behaviorist, because
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: I've done enough talking about my past. I've done enough
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: like oh I was sad when they made fun of me.
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: And at this point, cognitive behaviors is a little more
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: like let's talk about the plan. It's a little more
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: like a coach being like, here's the plan for this week.
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: You don't want the X to happen, then we're gonna
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: do why you want you want to be more like this,
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: then we're gonna do this. So if that type of
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: therapist has been very helpful to me in my life,
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: you might seek someone like that out the life coach. Yeah,
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: and and because I some people like to lie on
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: a couch and and talk about the pain they've experienced,
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: and that works and is helpful, and some people need
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: to do that. I'm not minimizing it. I've done plenty
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: of it. I'm just saying at this point in my life,
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: and again, I'm much older than you, but I've gotten
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: a lot of help out of someone who's like, Okay,
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: I hear what you're feeling. I hear where you want
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: to get to. I hear that you're stressed about this
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: or this. Here's the plan for this week that's gonna
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: be put in place by us as a team to
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: make you get there. And that could be finding a partner,
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: that could be finding a job, that could be whatever
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: you fucking want it to be.
- 1:08:51Speaker 5: I would also just like to add one thing to
- 1:08:53Speaker 5: what Zach is saying, is that, like, when you're doing
- 1:08:54Speaker 5: your googles for this kind of thing, make sure that
- 1:08:57Speaker 5: you search both words like life coach, but all so
- 1:09:00Speaker 5: specifically cognitive behavioral therapy, because they're different things that have
- 1:09:05Speaker 5: similar goals, and you just might get people who are
- 1:09:08Speaker 5: life coaches who are going to help you work through stuff.
- 1:09:10Speaker 5: But I really back up what Zach is saying when
- 1:09:12Speaker 5: you can have someone who's professional with experience give you
- 1:09:14Speaker 5: like a b C. And that's really going to come
- 1:09:17Speaker 5: from a cognitive behavioral therapist.
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: And I always feel, because I know I'm going to
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: talk to him once a week that I it's like
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: I have to have my homework done like I want to.
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: I want to. I want to impress him. So I'm
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: always like, oh, I'm going to do that shit I
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: promised him I would do because I made a commitment. Anyway,
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: I'm rambling. I think we can say you're welcome, right Donald,
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: Can we say you're welcome? I mean, I mean maybe
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: half you're welcome.
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: Not we could say you're welcome. We've set her on
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: a path.
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: We've given her path.
- 1:09:43Speaker 4: We've given her some tools that she can use to
- 1:09:47Speaker 4: better herself and take this journey that she's on into
- 1:09:51Speaker 4: a positive direction and not fall into the abyss that
- 1:09:55Speaker 4: is the most depression.
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: The most powerful thing you need to know is that
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: you are not alone. You are not alone. Everybody deals
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: with this ship. I think some people spiral out because
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: they go, what's wrong with me? No, what's wrong with
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: you is that you're human being. And everybody deals with this.
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: And all these people you see on TV and the
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: reality shows living these fucking bullshit lives, it's all bullshit.
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: They deal with it too, And you are not alone.
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: Everybody goes through it.
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: Okay, No one's truly happy.
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: Yeah, well no, some people are happy, but I but
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: everybody has their demons, they battle, everybody has their their
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: their sources of pain and uh, and I think it's
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: very important for you to know that you're not alone.
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: All right, Amanda, my favorite Jersey girl.
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: Let's take a break.
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: We'll be right back. After these fine words, we got
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: to talk more about what the show. Dude. People get
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: mad that we don't talk about the show enough. We
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: got to talk more about the show.
- 1:10:54Speaker 5: Are you telling me people have grievances with the show?
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: Oh?
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: Fucking people have grievance.
- 1:11:01Speaker 11: Grievance is a new segment that I call grievance. Jesus,
- 1:11:06Speaker 11: you guys have had Brendan Fraser, Tara Reed, Jaseurron. You
- 1:11:12Speaker 11: have so many interesting guests on the show. And you
- 1:11:15Speaker 11: know what you haven't had is one writer of the show.
- 1:11:19Speaker 10: Not one.
- 1:11:20Speaker 11: They listened to it.
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: They know and So here's the.
- 1:11:26Speaker 11: Tough grievance moment for you guys. Is what follows is
- 1:11:31Speaker 11: three single sentences from three different writers that were on
- 1:11:35Speaker 11: this show for a multiple of years. There will probably
- 1:11:38Speaker 11: be a clue in their sentence. But unless you can
- 1:11:42Speaker 11: identify these three writers by the sentence clue, I'm afraid
- 1:11:48Speaker 11: I'm going to have to pull the plug on our podcast. Ready,
- 1:11:53Speaker 11: get your thinking cat.
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: Wait, wait, I have a question, dar. These are sentences
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: that Bill is going to say that we should know
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: with the oh, the writers themselves.
- 1:12:01Speaker 5: The writers themselves have submitted three sentences. Of course you're
- 1:12:04Speaker 5: gonna know all three sentences are going to play out.
- 1:12:07Speaker 5: There's a tiny space between each one, and then the
- 1:12:09Speaker 5: answer is a separate file. But we'll let everybody else
- 1:12:11Speaker 5: a right to.
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: Write down your answers because it's they're going to play
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: them in an order.
- 1:12:15Speaker 5: Everybody ready, there's a small bit of silence in between
- 1:12:17Speaker 5: each one.
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: Okay, I have a lot of kids.
- 1:12:22Speaker 9: I like musical theater, and I don't listen on Fridays,
- 1:12:27Speaker 9: which is today, so I'm not listening Jewish.
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: All right, all right, I got them all Okay, I
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: think I got them too, all Right.
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: The first one is Tim Hobert.
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: Easy, Tim Hobert. Gabby is the second one.
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: Gabby is the second one. And uh, I think.
- 1:12:51Speaker 11: You guys ready, yeah, oh my god, you guys better
- 1:12:54Speaker 11: have gotten Tim Herbert, Gabby, Allen Greenberg and Neil gold
- 1:13:00Speaker 11: or well. I mean, I gotta be honest with the
- 1:13:03Speaker 11: podcast is over and that a lot of people, because
- 1:13:07Speaker 11: I do love my podcast.
- 1:13:09Speaker 10: That was the.
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: I like that game though.
- 1:13:13Speaker 10: Yeah, that was easy.
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: Though, that was really easy.
- 1:13:16Speaker 11: Though.
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: That was fun. It was good to hear their voices. Also,
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: is this I said, no.
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: No, no, Daniel, We're going along, Daniel, We're going along.
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: We're already at an hour.
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: We have barely talked about the fucking show. We gotta
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: speed through it.
- 1:13:34Speaker 9: Now.
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: Who should we have on? Who do you think would
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: be the best guest of those three? I mean, they'd
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: all be good, don't get me wrong, But who would
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: you Who should we choose first?
- 1:13:42Speaker 4: I think I honestly believe that we should break them
- 1:13:46Speaker 4: off into little groups, you know what I mean?
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: Well, Gabby, by the way, Gabby, in terms of coming
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: up next, Gabby is the first. I'm looking at the
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: schedule is wrote for some reason wrote the next two
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: that's impossible, but she was.
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: Yeah, so maybe Gabby, let's reach out and see if
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: she wants to do it.
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: Okay, Joelle, will you get I don't have I might
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: not have her email anymore. Will you get her from us?
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: And I'm sure everyone would also like to heal from
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: a very successful female comedy writer in Hollywood who would
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: love to hear about that?
- 1:14:19Speaker 2: Absolutely?
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: Can we talk about this fucking show Scrubs? Donald?
- 1:14:24Speaker 2: Why do you have to put that type of handle
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: on it? Oh?
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: What about? Why is the guy sitting next to the
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: dartboard in a bar? That guy is the worst seat
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: in the world. He's literally sitting next to a dartboard
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: as Sarah and Judy try and throw darts. I was like,
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: that's a bad seat, buddy, Yeah it was.
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: I think it's for comedy.
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: Yes, I had a feeling it was for comedy.
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: I think it's for comedy.
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: Patrick Bolton, our set dresser friend, was the bartender in
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: that scene.
- 1:14:53Speaker 2: How about Elliott having hair on her lower back?
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: Yes, I think a lot of women probably do have
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: a thin layer of hair back there.
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: Okay, I don't know.
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: Eric Strata paunch, that was great.
- 1:15:08Speaker 4: Right, Eric Astrada one of my heroes as a youth.
- 1:15:13Speaker 4: Everyone needs to Chips growing me too.
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: I gotta tell you, my dad was so anti gun
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: that we were not allowed to have toy guns. And
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: he was so anti toy gun that when I had
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: the John doll, it was like a Ken doll sized
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: John from Chips. He took the little one centimeter gun
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: away from me. I wouldn't allowed to have the Chips gun.
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: That's how Auntie gun.
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: My dad was, Yeah, well, you know, so sorry, That's
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: that's how it is.
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: And I should buy that doll on eBay and play
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: with the gun with Donald and I did a very
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: funny photoshoot. I don't know if we've mentioned this before.
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: You guys can google it. It was for People, a magazine,
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: I think Donald and we dressed up like Eric Strata
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: and John from Chips.
- 1:16:04Speaker 9: We did.
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: And because I have blonde hair, I have a wig on.
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: I assume everyone, of course says I look like Dak
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: Shepherd like they do, no matter what I fucking do.
- 1:16:14Speaker 4: Because and because I would, and because I put a
- 1:16:16Speaker 4: wig on and I looked like Bruno Mars, I had
- 1:16:20Speaker 4: a possibility at that time to be one of America's
- 1:16:24Speaker 4: most sexiest men or people's most sexiest men, you know
- 1:16:27Speaker 4: what I mean, which was really interesting.
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: And then and then you know, Daxx went on to
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: make the Chips movie, which is too which which you know,
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: I was happy for him because he's an awesome guy.
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: But you know, you and I would have been a
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: great paunch and John.
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: I can't play.
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: Uh No, you don't have to be a Hispanic paunch.
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: You could be African American zaunch.
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: I didn't.
- 1:16:49Speaker 4: I think I think we're doing a disservice to all
- 1:16:52Speaker 4: of the Latino We don't have.
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: To do the exact thing. And we could do California
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: Highway patrol on motorcyle anyway. We can't do any to it,
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: all right.
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: One of my favorite lines in the show Sweet Dancing Jehovah,
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: I punctured my brain.
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I laugh. That was funny. Kelso Death and everyone
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: every time he walks by, just saying all that ship
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: to him.
- 1:17:15Speaker 4: Yes, and then and then and then Ted missing the
- 1:17:18Speaker 4: missing the bus and coming in a little too late.
- 1:17:21Speaker 4: After Kelso he says, giving him the business, he goes, there,
- 1:17:25Speaker 4: you are you deaf bastard.
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: He was like, it's like no one had told Ted
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: until it was too late and he finally he had
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: it all, He had it all stored up ready to go.
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: That was fucking funny.
- 1:17:37Speaker 4: Like, dude, like you over time, you kind of gotta
- 1:17:41Speaker 4: feel sorry for Ted Man, Like, oh my gosh, dude,
- 1:17:45Speaker 4: it's like, first of all, his boss is a jerk
- 1:17:48Speaker 4: to him, and then second of all, he never seems to.
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: Catch a break ever, think, nothing ever works out for him,
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: never ever works out for him. What about wakanuby at
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: the carnival? Waknuby canub Yeah?
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: Yeah, what about the fact that JD can't get I
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: can't use the giant mallet to get the to ring
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: the bell at the carnival?
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: Also, yeah, I can, by the way, But you know
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: what is true about me? If one thing that is
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: true about me, and you can call me a nerd
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: or a dor or a what other other synonyms are there?
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: Guys, you haven't said one bad word yet.
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: I do get nauseous on rides, Oh oh, I really do.
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: First of all, I cannot funck with like a tea.
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: Cup situation for your whole life, your whole life.
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't like them. I will go on a
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: fast roller coaster that's straight and fast and takes big curves.
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: I'm fine with that, but I cannot do anything spinning.
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: I don't like the fucking thing that drops of this mansion.
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: I've done that. What it makes you want to puke?
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: You know that cheap it's the cheap thing that spins
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: and the floor drops out. Yeah.
- 1:19:03Speaker 2: No, oh my gosh.
- 1:19:04Speaker 8: Yo.
- 1:19:05Speaker 4: You know what, as I've gotten older, there's certain things
- 1:19:07Speaker 4: that I can't do anymore. Like I used to be
- 1:19:09Speaker 4: able to get on roller coasters and all of that
- 1:19:11Speaker 4: stuff no problem, and get on them over and over again.
- 1:19:14Speaker 4: My fortieth birthday, we went to Disneyland, and I remember
- 1:19:17Speaker 4: this very well because Disney sponsored the trip and they
- 1:19:22Speaker 4: hooked it up to where I we you know, we
- 1:19:24Speaker 4: had a guide and everything. They hooked it up for
- 1:19:27Speaker 4: a person who's worked for Disney for a really long time,
- 1:19:30Speaker 4: and we were able to get on the California Scream
- 1:19:35Speaker 4: like five times.
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: In a row. That the loop. Do you want to
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: go again?
- 1:19:43Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: Do you want to go again? Yeah?
- 1:19:45Speaker 4: We want to go again, and we did it again.
- 1:19:47Speaker 4: Do you want to go again? Yeah, we want to
- 1:19:49Speaker 4: go again, and we did it again. Do you want
- 1:19:52Speaker 4: to go again? I don't know, yeah, we wanted.
- 1:19:54Speaker 2: We had. I bought all my This is the thing
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: that I like to do for my birthday. I like
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: to invite all of my friends and their kids and
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: let the kids have.
- 1:20:05Speaker 4: Fun because I like to have like like I'm a
- 1:20:08Speaker 4: Disneyland type of birthday, Like I'm a forty six year
- 1:20:11Speaker 4: old man who likes to go to Disneyland. Like, okay,
- 1:20:13Speaker 4: so anyway, my nephews, my nieces, my freaking my you know,
- 1:20:19Speaker 4: a bunch of youth is with us. You want to
- 1:20:21Speaker 4: go again? Yeah, we want to go again. To kids,
- 1:20:24Speaker 4: I'm like, oh no, I don't think I can do
- 1:20:26Speaker 4: it for the rest of the day.
- 1:20:27Speaker 2: You know, when you get that when you get that nauseous,
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: that's like when you make this sound that is okay,
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: it's the sound.
- 1:20:36Speaker 4: It's you're trying to freaking relax your mouth from you know,
- 1:20:40Speaker 4: how you get water. I did not puke, but for
- 1:20:43Speaker 4: the rest of the day I had to go. For
- 1:20:45Speaker 4: the rest of the day, I was going like this though,
- 1:20:50Speaker 4: trying to get my tongue to get that nauseous.
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: I went and everyone was like, we're going again. I
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: was like I'm not, And I was like the I
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: was like the parent, but like waited by the exit
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: for everybody.
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: That's that's that. Yeah, it.
- 1:21:03Speaker 4: Ruined the not my birthday, but it ruined the fact
- 1:21:07Speaker 4: that I was like, I don't know if I'll get
- 1:21:09Speaker 4: on roller coasters again. And so since then, i've I
- 1:21:12Speaker 4: can only do roller coasters one time, and when I
- 1:21:14Speaker 4: get off, I always feel that little bit of nausea.
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: That oh that's robot for good night. I mean, what
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: the hell was that? I must have made that up.
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: I don't know what the hell was going on there.
- 1:21:23Speaker 4: How about the janitor getting a freaking new job because
- 1:21:27Speaker 4: and he turned it into like a radio show where
- 1:21:30Speaker 4: he's freaking dissing people.
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: By the way, speaking of being dorky, I was the
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: guy in high school who did the announcements really really cool, yes,
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: And I remember thinking, I mean, you know, with a.
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: Group all four years there was four years there was
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: a team.
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: No, there was a team. You know, you had your
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: sports team. Well, I had my announcements.
- 1:21:50Speaker 2: Team sports team in high school.
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: No, I'm making a joke saying, like, you know, like
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: it was a team and we had like we had
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: like practice where we'd be like, mommy made me match
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: my the lips and the tongue. Yeah, I would do
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: the announcements, and I remember thinking I was really cool
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: to the announcements.
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: It's powerful.
- 1:22:08Speaker 4: Did you play like did you play like a xylophone
- 1:22:10Speaker 4: where you're like doo dooo?
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: No, I remember, I remember. I think we had to
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: do the pledge of allegiance and it was written down
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: so you didn't fuck it up, little mistake. I think
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: it's sixteen thirteen. In Nicole Sullivan's room when we're the
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: last time we're meeting with her, there's no door on
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: the hinges. If you're someone who likes fuck ups in movies.
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: For some reason, the grips must have taken off the
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: hospital room door, but you can just see the hinges
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: sitting there. There's no door in the room.
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: That's interesting, you know, if you if you if you
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: caught that, you're not watching the show.
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: But anyway, I like to I like to look in
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: the both the background and the foreground while I'm doing
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: this podcast, doll, because I wanted to.
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: Deliver well while doing the while doing the podcast.
- 1:22:58Speaker 4: Absolutely, if you're listening to and you're wanting to catch
- 1:23:02Speaker 4: fuck ups some stuff, yeah we're gonna try and catch
- 1:23:03Speaker 4: that too. But watching movies and watching TV shows now
- 1:23:07Speaker 4: and not being able to get into it because I'm
- 1:23:09Speaker 4: noticing what's going on in the background, or noticing what's
- 1:23:11Speaker 4: going on because of mess ups and stuff like that.
- 1:23:15Speaker 4: I try not to do that now. I try to
- 1:23:17Speaker 4: enjoy a movie as much as I can. I imagine
- 1:23:19Speaker 4: it's got to be very difficult for you, Zach.
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: Being a director, I always look at stuff in the background,
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: and sometimes it hurts my experience, but that is uh
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: the price I pay donald for being a movie maker.
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: One of the last lines we say is you can
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: never underestimate the importance of listening. And I think that's
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: a very simple but very smart sentence that so much
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: miscommunication comes from no one really truly listening to each other.
- 1:23:45Speaker 4: It's hard to listen. That's one of the hardest things
- 1:23:47Speaker 4: to do in life. You know, it's a simple thing
- 1:23:49Speaker 4: to do, but it's actually hard to shut your brain
- 1:23:52Speaker 4: off and listen to somebody else's stuff.
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: Yeah, because you're our brains are going, Oh, what's the
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: thing I'm going to say next? Oh, he just reminded
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: me of a story that now I'm going to tell oh,
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: what's for dinner? And I strive to be someone that
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: can be truly looking at you and listening when you
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: talk to me.
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: That's one of my hardest things to do.
- 1:24:14Speaker 4: And I I I've told stories about this before, you know,
- 1:24:17Speaker 4: meeting my idols like George Lucas and stuff and not
- 1:24:21Speaker 4: being able to listen because I was so geeked. It's
- 1:24:24Speaker 4: a it's a it's a really good thing if you
- 1:24:27Speaker 4: can listen to someone and hear. There's because there are
- 1:24:31Speaker 4: so many times in my life where if I would
- 1:24:33Speaker 4: have listened, maybe the outcome of somebody else's life would
- 1:24:38Speaker 4: have been better. But because I was caught up in
- 1:24:40Speaker 4: my own shit and didn't listen, things were different. I'm
- 1:24:46Speaker 4: sure everybody feels that, but this isn't.
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: This is something that is uh. This is something that
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: I think we all we we all take for granted,
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: the ability to listen.
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: Yes, so listen to each other and listen to us
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: as we end this show and beg you to vote.
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: I am literally going to get down on my knees
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: and asked you.
- 1:25:10Speaker 4: This is actually happened. And he's clasped his hands together
- 1:25:18Speaker 4: as if praying to a deity.
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: I am I'm I've never asked you listener for anything.
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: Please vote. Today is the day. Go make it up.
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: And even you've got to wait in line. Bring some snacks,
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: bring a lawn chair, bring a podcast. If you've listened
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: to all of this one, try another one. Yes, I
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: just figured out how much I've been wondering how my
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: dog gets in and out of the vegetable garden. And
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: I just caught that little bitch. And I can call
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: her a bitch because it's a female dog. I just
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: caught how that little bitch is getting into my vegetable garden.
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: I just saw her sneak out one of the fucking gaate. Okay,
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: problem solved, you guys, go vote. We love you.

- 1:26:08Speaker 4: What what do you say to the people who didn't
