- 0:22That elevates your team's wellbeing on every level.
- 0:28Stick around because.
- 0:30This is going to completely change how you approach wellness at work.

- 0:54Let's break down the six logical levels of change.
- 0:57This model shows us that change happens in layers.
- 1:02From the environment around us to our deepest sense of purpose, each level is connected and for real and lasting change.
- 1:12You've got to address them all.
- 1:15So at the bottom of the levels is environment.
- 1:19That is where you are and your surroundings.
- 1:23The second level is behaviors.
- 1:26This is what actions you take daily.
- 1:29Number three is capabilities.
- 1:31What skills and abilities you have.
- 1:34Number four is beliefs and values.
- 1:37This is what you believe is true.
- 1:39And important.
- 1:41Number five is identity who you believe you are.
- 1:46Number six is purpose or vision.
- 1:49This is your deeper mission or the why behind your actions.
- 1:55So I want you to think of this model as.
- 1:58Like growing a tree.
- 2:00The environment is the soil.
- 2:02Behavior is watering the tree.
- 2:05Capabilities or how well the tree absorbs the nutrients.
- 2:09Beliefs and values.
- 2:12Are the Gardener's dedication to growth.
- 2:15The identity is what type of tree it is.
- 2:18And purpose is why the tree was planted in the first place.
- 2:23Maybe for shade, beauty, or food.
- 2:26For a tree or your team, or you as an individual to thrive, you've got to nurture each layer.
- 2:35Ignoring any of these levels will limit growth.
- 2:39Now let's talk about how you can apply these levels to your corporate wellness program.
- 2:46Here's a step-by-step guide to make sure your program benefits everyone on your team.
- 2:53So let's start with the environment.
- 2:55This is where most corporate wellness programs start.
- 2:58What does your workplace wellness look like?
- 3:00Are there spaces for employees to recharge?
- 3:03Like a gym.
- 3:04A wellness room.
- 3:05Or even a quiet space to de-stress.
- 3:09Simple changes in the environment can make a huge impact on how your team feels.
- 3:16Here's an action step.
- 3:17Take a look around your workplace.
- 3:20Could you create a wellness, friendly environment?
- 3:23Maybe add standing desks.
- 3:25Better lighting.
- 3:26Or a quiet zone.
- 3:27Now let's talk about behaviors.
- 3:29Behaviors is about what actions your employees are taking daily.
- 3:34Are they staying active?
- 3:35Eating healthy.
- 3:36Managing stress.
- 3:38Creating opportunities for these behaviors is key.
- 3:42But the real magic happens when you connect those actions to deeper levels like values and purpose.
- 3:50Which is coming in a minute.
- 3:52So I want you to try this or look around and see what this is like.
- 3:56Start a simple wellness challenge, like a step challenge or a mindfulness break.
- 4:02It's a great way to get the ball rolling.
- 4:06And show your team how easy behavior change can be.
- 4:11Let's talk about capabilities.
- 4:12It's not enough to just encourage healthy behaviors.
- 4:16You got to make sure your team has the skills to maintain those behaviors.
- 4:22Whether it's learning stress management.
- 4:24Or improving emotional intelligence.
- 4:26These are the tools employees need to stay well.
- 4:30Consider hosting workshops or lunch and learns on topics like emotional intelligence and recovery.
- 4:37These will help your team create capabilities that last.
- 4:42Number four values and beliefs.
- 4:45Here's where things get a little bit deeper.
- 4:48Did you know that beliefs and values drive everything.
- 4:52If an employee doesn't value, their health.
- 4:55Or believe wellness is important.
- 4:58They won't engage in your programs.
- 5:00No matter how many perks you offer.
- 5:03It's important to find out what they value.
- 5:06So here's an action step.
- 5:07You can take.
- 5:08Create campaigns that actually tap into your teams existing values.
- 5:15Whether it's their family.
- 5:16Their community.
- 5:18Or their productivity.
- 5:20You can also try one-on-one coaching to help employees uncover limiting beliefs that might be holding them back from fully embracing wellness.
- 5:30Number five is one of my favorites.
- 5:33It's identity.
- 5:34And this is about who your employees are, who you really believe you are.
- 5:41Do your employees see themselves as healthy?
- 5:43Thriving individuals.
- 5:46Or as stressed out workaholics.
- 5:49Identity based change is the most powerful kind of change.
- 5:54Because.
- 5:56Once people start seeing themselves differently.
- 6:00Their actions follow.
- 6:02Here's a quick tip.
- 6:03Foster wellness culture that supports identity shifts.
- 6:09Share success stories.
- 6:11Recognize wellness champions.
- 6:14That's so important.
- 6:15Rewards and recognition super important.
- 6:18And build a culture where being well is part of the company's identity.
- 6:26If that resonates with you.
- 6:28Hit that like button.
- 6:30So I know you're with me.
- 6:32And at the very top of the triangle, we have purpose and vision and this is the deepest level.
- 6:39This is the why b ehind someone's desire to be well.
- 6:44Maybe it's to be there for their family.
- 6:46Maybe it's to be more fulfilled at work.
- 6:49Or to contribute to something bigger than themselves.
- 6:53When wellness is connected to purpose and vision.
- 6:56It becomes meaningful.
- 6:58And people are more likely to stick with it.
- 7:00Help your team connect to their purpose by encouraging reflection and discussion about their, why.
- 7:07If you'd like more tips on how to foster purpose-driven wellness.
- 7:13Okay, so now you might be wondering what's next, Kathie.
- 7:16What can I expect when I start implementing the logical levels of change in my wellness programs.
- 7:23Here's the good news when you address all of these levels.
- 7:26You will see some amazing results.
- 7:29First of all engagement was skyrocket.
- 7:31Wellness becomes part of who your employees are.
- 7:36Not just something they do.
- 7:37You'll have sustainable behavior change.
- 7:41But focusing on beliefs, identity, and purpose.
- 7:45You'll create long lasting habits and I talk about habits all the time.
- 7:50Not just short-term fixes.
- 7:53And also you'll create a stronger, healthier culture.
- 7:58Wellness becomes part of your company's DNA.
- 8:02Creating a work environment where people feel valued and supported.
- 8:06Are you ready to take action?
- 8:08Here are three simple steps you can take today to start applying the logical levels of change in your corporate wellness programs.
- 8:19Read Robert Dilts book.
- 8:23His book is called changing belief systems with NLP to dive deeper into these concepts.
- 8:29I've used these concepts as a coach in personal training to help others overcome whatever kind of change they're trying to go through.
- 8:40It is powerful.
- 8:42Number two.
- 8:43Evaluate your wellness programs, take a step back and assess where you're focusing your efforts.
- 8:50Are you addressing all the levels or just a few?
- 8:54And assessments are super important to understand what your team wants, because if you just put it out there and say, this is what they want, it's like throwing spaghetti at the wall and expecting it to stick.
- 9:08You need to know what your team members want.
- 9:11And what incorporates into the team's culture?
- 9:15And finally action.
- 9:17Number three, you can take is plan a workshop.
- 9:20Introduce your team to the logical levels of change.
- 9:23It's a fun, interactive way to get everyone involved in their own wellness journey.
- 9:30Remember wellness is layered.
- 9:34Just like the logical levels.
- 9:36To create lasting change focus on every level.
- 9:42Environment.
- 9:43Behavior capabilities beliefs.
- 9:48Identity.
- 9:49And purpose or vision.
- 9:51Start small take action.
- 9:54And make wellness a core part of who you are as a company.
- 10:00As I like to say, we build healthy, happy teams.
- 10:03One heart at a time.
- 10:05I trust you found this video to be helpful.
