- 0:54about nine months? Is that fair? McAuley objection, Special Master
- 0:58you can answer answer, No, my training wasn't about nine months.
- 1:03Mister Simpson, can you ask her to speak up just
- 1:06a little bit. I'm having a hard time hearing macauley. Okay,
- 1:09we'll do our best, but she got sick during the break.
- 1:13Let's just be happy that we're here and we're getting
- 1:15this special master. Let's move on. Let's move on. Question,
- 1:20Miss Roberts, I've handed you a document that's been marked

- 2:09Question you say you've seen it before? Correct answer yes.
- 2:13Question when did you first see it? Answer? I don't
- 2:16know the first time I saw it. I remember seeing
- 2:19it recently, but I don't remember the first time that
- 2:21I saw it. Did you see it shortly after your
- 2:24telephone conversation with Jack Scarola and Brad Edwards. McAuley objection,
- 2:30Can we have a timeframe on the document please, Special Master,
- 2:34could you please recite a timeframe Borgia, You had a
- 2:37telephone conversation with Jack Scarola and Brad Edwards in April
- 2:41of twenty eleven. Do you recall that? Answer? I recall
- 2:44the telephone conversation. Yes. Question And after you had that
- 2:49telephone conversation, did you see a transcript of that conversation? Answer?
- 2:54I don't know, I don't remember. Question have you actually
- 2:57read this document? Answer yes, I have. Question is the
- 3:00document accurate to the best of your knowledge? Answer yes,
- 3:04I mean there's a couple small things like my middle
- 3:07name as not Luis wasn't living in Australia for nineteen years.
- 3:11But for the most part, everything else is pretty correct.
- 3:14Question if you turn to page ten of twenty three, McCauley,
- 3:18they're numbered to the top, at the very top of
- 3:20the corner you see there. Answer yes, Question do you
- 3:23have that page? Answer yes, I do. Question about halfway
- 3:28down the page, mister Scirolla asked you, okay, and how
- 3:31long after you first met Jeffrey. Did he first ask
- 3:34you to provide services for one of his friends? You
- 3:37answered about nine months. I think it wasn't a full year.
- 3:40It wasn't six months. It was between six months and
- 3:43a year, which is why I'm saying nine months. Do
- 3:45you see where I'm reading? Answer? Yeah, I do. Question.
- 3:49Is that a truthful and accurate McCauley objection, Special Master,
- 3:53You can answer. Answer, it's as close to what I
- 3:57can remember. But I hadn't given it much thought at
- 3:59the time, But it's close. Question. Well, within sixty days
- 4:03of this telephone call, you had met with miss Churcher.
- 4:05Right McAuley objection, Special Master, You can answer answer within
- 4:11sixty days? Are we talking about before the telephone call
- 4:14or after the telephone call? Question? You met with mss
- 4:18Churcher before the publication of the Deli mal article in
- 4:21March of twenty eleven. Right answer Right. McAuley objection, Borgia,
- 4:27and you met with her for about a week. Right
- 4:30McAuley objection, I have an objection to all line of
- 4:33questioning relating to the media, Special Master, I understand, proceed.
- 4:37You can answer answer yes, and that was her must
- 4:42have been March. If that's the date that she called question.
- 4:45And during the week that you met with miss Churcher,
- 4:48she showed you photos of people. Correct answer, yes question,
- 4:52and you thought about whether there were abusers. Correct McAuley objection, Borgia,
- 4:57and she talked to you. McCauley, sorry, let me an
- 5:00eject objection. If you can pause for a moment, Go ahead,
- 5:03Special Master. You did answer, move forward, Borgia, and she
- 5:08talked to you about your time with Jeffrey Epstein and
- 5:11being sexually trafficked. Is that correct McCauley objection, Special Master.
- 5:16You can answer answer yes question. And then the article
- 5:20came out about it, right McAuley objection, answer yes question,
- 5:25and people called you about that article. Correct McCauley objection.
- 5:29Answer yes question. And so you had a meeting for
- 5:32a week, you looked at pictures, you talked to miss Churcher,
- 5:36an article came out, you talk to people, and this
- 5:38happening right around February March twenty eleven. Correct answer objection,
- 5:43Special Master. You can answer answer yes question. And now
- 5:49April seventh, you have a telephone call with mister Sciola
- 5:52and mister Edwards. Correct answer yes question. So you had
- 5:56time with miss Churcher with your friend calling with the
- 6:00article to think about these activities. Correct answer, Yes, McCauley objection, Borgia.
- 6:07Question and your best recollection in April of twenty eleven
- 6:11was that about nine months? It wasn't a full year,
- 6:13It wasn't six months, but between six months and a year,
- 6:16which is why I'm saying nine months. That was your
- 6:19best recollection as to the timeframe at that point after
- 6:22you first met Jeffrey when he asked you to provide
- 6:25services for one of his friends. Is that fair? McCauley objection, Virginia.
- 6:31As you can see in that answer, I'm not even
- 6:33sure it wasn't six months, but between six months and
- 6:36a year, which is why I'm saying nine months. It
- 6:39was an assumption question, was it your recollection at that time?
- 6:44McAuley objection, answer by Virginia. It was my best assumption.
- 6:49It could have been three months for all I know.
- 6:51It could have been six months for all I know,
- 6:53But it's an assumption question. It could have been a
- 6:58year for all you know. Then right objection answer, no question.
- 7:02Why is three months fair and twelve months not fair?
- 7:05Answer because it wasn't that long? Question? But has your
- 7:09memory improved since twenty eleven. McAuley objection, argumentative, go ahead,
- 7:16answer going through everything that I have gone through over
- 7:18and over and over again. Yes, it has. Question so
- 7:22is your memory improving over time about the events? Answer
- 7:26it's not improving. McCauley objection, Sorry, let me just object argumentative,
- 7:32special master. You can answer. Answer it's not like that.
- 7:35It's improving over time. But the more I talk about it,
- 7:38the more I'm able to remember stuff. Question are there
- 7:41things that you remember now that you didn't tell Miss
- 7:43Churchier in your interview? Answer definitely possibility. Question you don't
- 7:49know one way or the other. Answer she didn't ask
- 7:52me everything, and I didn't tell her everything. Question why
- 7:55did she call you? Do you know? Answer? I think
- 7:58I've answered this previously, haven't I? Special Master, You can
- 8:01answer it again. McAuley. You can answer it to the
- 8:04extent you can recall. Answer she called me because she
- 8:08was interested in the Jeffrey Epstein sagas so to speak.
- 8:12Question did miss church Er tell you she had talked
- 8:14to anybody else before she talked to you? Answer like
- 8:18in order to get my number? Answer No, about the
- 8:21same subject matter that she was asking you about. Answer
- 8:24I'm not aware of her conversations with other people. Question,
- 8:28I'm talking about what she told you. Did she tell
- 8:30you that she had talked to other people? McAuley objection
- 8:33asked an answered answer, I'm thinking I can't recall a
- 8:38specific person that she said, but I'm sure she did
- 8:40talk to other people about this. I know she talked
- 8:43to the Delimail to see if they could run the story. Question,
- 8:46after you gave the telephone interview to mister Scrola, did
- 8:50you call him and say anything that you told him
- 8:52was wrong incorrect, I should say from your telephone conversation.
- 8:56Answer no, not that I can remember. They're a on
- 9:00VR defendant. Exhibit number five was marked for identification. McCauley,
- 9:05I'm going to object to this picture. This has pictures
- 9:08of Virginia's children on this, and we have safety concerns here.
- 9:11We're not going to be putting this in the record,
- 9:14and I think any line of questioning regarding her kids
- 9:16or identification with respect to them is absolutely inappropriate. She's
- 9:22a non party witness, she's a sexual abuse victim, and
- 9:24injecting her children into this is inappropriate. Miss Borgia. I'm
- 9:29still going to mark this as an exhibit. This is
- 9:32under seal, and if you want to take other steps
- 9:34after this, that's up to you. Virginia one of my children.
- 9:39She gets cut off by McCauley. Hang on, take a
- 9:42deep breath. It's okay. We'll handle it, special Master. So
- 9:46explain it to me. Why, Borgia. I haven't asked any
- 9:49questions yet, Special Master. Well, explain to me about the exhibit.
- 9:53You can market, but we're going to keep it. I'm
- 9:55going to tell you what other than after the lawyers
- 9:58see that. Let's put the copies here and we're going
- 10:00to hold those separately and apart from the rest of
- 10:03the exhibits. Because I tend to agree with Miss McCauley's
- 10:05concern on this. So proceed with the question on that grounds. Question,
- 10:11Ms Roberts, the document that's been marked as VR Exhibit
- 10:15five is a compilation exhibit with two pages from a
- 10:18Facebook profile. Do you have that? Answer? Yes, I do.
- 10:22Question is this a Facebook profile that you created? Answer?
- 10:25Yes it is. Question did you input pictures into it? Answer?
- 10:29I sure did. Question is page one and accurate depiction
- 10:33of your Facebook profile? Answer yes, question and the second
- 10:37page of this exhibit, It says Virginia Roberts November eleventh,
- 10:41twenty thirteen. Do you see that answer? Where am I
- 10:45looking at? Question at the top under the name Virginia Roberts,
- 10:49it says November eleventh, twenty thirteen. Do you see that? Answer? Yes,
- 10:53I see that question? And is this an entry that
- 10:56you made into your Facebook account? Answer? Yes, question you
- 11:00posted the picture? Answer yes, question? Do you know below?
- 11:04The first entry under the photo says, Hi, buddies, we'd
- 11:08love to hear from our pen pals across the sea.
- 11:11Our new address is and it states an address therein
- 11:14goes On DC where I'm reading. Answer yes, question, Did
- 11:18you make that entry into your Facebook profile? Answer? Yes, question,
- 11:22and this is a true and accurate depiction of that
- 11:24entry that you made. Answer yes, question by Special Master?
- 11:28Is that it McCauley. I'm going to ask to the
- 11:31extent that the exhibit gets used at all, that every
- 11:35picture of her children is redacted. If you want to
- 11:38leave the date, that's fine, Virginia. Can I also ask
- 11:42why Special Master hold on McAuley? It's okay, Special Master?
- 11:46Do you have an objection to the redaction of the children? Borgia?
- 11:50I do in this regard, and I would like to
- 11:52make my objection on the record without the witness present,
- 11:55Special Master, without the witness present, Borgia, correct, special all right,
- 12:01let's hold that because I don't want to lose this.
- 12:03We'll go back to that on the next break when
- 12:05the witness takes a break, we'll go ahead and put
- 12:07that on the record. But in the meantime, let's go
- 12:09ahead and put the exhibit. You hold yours, and we'll
- 12:12hold the rest of them. Miss Borgia, there are several
- 12:16copies here, Special Master, put them there. Ms McCauley, as
- 12:20an officer of the court, will you take those exhibits,
- 12:22and then on a break, put them in an envelope
- 12:24and mark them and I'll seal them right away so
- 12:27that this way you can provide the provisions on that McCauley. Okay,
- 12:31Special Master, thank you, and then we can go ahead
- 12:34at the next break, and you can make your objections
- 12:36at that point. Go ahead, proceed. All right. We're gonna
- 12:40wrap up right here, and in the next episode we're
- 12:42gonna pick up where we left off. All of the
- 12:44information that goes with this episode can be found in
- 12:48the description box.
