- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:04Speaker 1: Michael Bumpus. Playfac go to roll right, jumpson off into
- 0:07Speaker 1: the right class to Michael Bumpers, who bounces off on
- 0:09Speaker 1: one tackler gets inside the forty downs of the thirty
- 0:12Speaker 1: five yard line. Powered by Seahawks dot Com, Matt pump
- 0:16Speaker 1: fakes looking at the goal line. He throws it into
- 0:18Speaker 1: the end zone. Touchdown Seahawks. It's Michael Bumpus with a
- 0:21Speaker 1: diving catching the end zone ten yard touchdown reception for Bumpus,
- 0:26Speaker 1: and the kid out of Washington State has found himself
- 0:29Speaker 1: a place on this team. Now here's your host, Nasa Chubi.
- 0:34Speaker 1: The Seahawks get back to their winning ways, beating the
- 0:37Speaker 1: Jets twenty three to six at Louman Field on Sunday,
- 0:40Speaker 1: keeping their playoff chances alive. It was a great effort
- 0:42Speaker 1: by the Seahawks on offense and defense. Gino goes three
- 0:46Speaker 1: in no on his revenge story gets the former teams
- 0:48Speaker 1: big win for the Seahawks. But it's been a little
- 0:50Speaker 1: bit of time, but we start this thing off with
- 0:53Speaker 1: our guy Ray Roberts in the twinches. It's time to
- 0:56Speaker 1: go inside the trenches with former Seahawk Ray Roberts Big Ray.
- 1:01Speaker 1: It was a great win on Sunday. Excited about that.
- 1:04Speaker 1: It was the seahawks first home win since I checked back.
- 1:06Speaker 1: It was actually October thirtieth against the Jets, so it's
- 1:09Speaker 1: been a long time. Another good thing that happened was
- 1:12Speaker 1: the first time that ken Walker had back to back
- 1:14Speaker 1: when hunter yard rushing games in his career. What did
- 1:17Speaker 1: the Seahawks figure out on Sunday and what did they
- 1:20Speaker 1: figure out the last two weeks when it comes to
- 1:21Speaker 1: the run game. You know what, I think it was
- 1:24Speaker 1: a combination of two things. I think a couple of
- 1:27Speaker 1: weeks ago, at halftime, remember ken Walker came out the
- 1:32Speaker 1: second half and had a big day, and at the
- 1:35Speaker 1: press conference or the postgame conference, he said that, you know,
- 1:39Speaker 1: the halftime they were telling him, you know, to kind
- 1:41Speaker 1: of get more decisive in his approach, and we talked
- 1:45Speaker 1: about his ability to receive that coaching and how it
- 1:48Speaker 1: was going to pay off for him in the long run.
- 1:50Speaker 1: And so it showed up again, you know, yesterday because
- 1:54Speaker 1: he was very decisive. Even you know Turbo, who is
- 1:57Speaker 1: sometimes questioned whether you know, he's been a little too
- 2:00Speaker 1: indecisive or you know, capping his feet at the line
- 2:03Speaker 1: of scruncher forward, you know, hitting the hole. Was impressed
- 2:06Speaker 1: by his decision making and just making a decision and saying,
- 2:10Speaker 1: I'm going to go get this three or four yards,
- 2:12Speaker 1: because if you think about it, the first play was
- 2:14Speaker 1: what sixty something yards, and then after that he probably
- 2:17Speaker 1: averaged a little less than four yards to carry. But
- 2:20Speaker 1: it was because he had established the threat and he
- 2:23Speaker 1: had established his commitment to being decisive and how he
- 2:26Speaker 1: was running. It really made a difference in the run
- 2:29Speaker 1: game yesterday. Rail was nice to see ken Walker do
- 2:32Speaker 1: the same, but he can't do it without the big boys.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Man Stone Foresight got his first career start. What you
- 2:38Speaker 1: said to him, I probably played good. I watched him
- 2:42Speaker 1: quite a bit in the first half, and I was
- 2:44Speaker 1: watching mainly just to kind of see what they were
- 2:46Speaker 1: trying to do to him in the past game. He's
- 2:49Speaker 1: such a big dude that in the run game you'd
- 2:51Speaker 1: line up Jake Kerrn beside him or Kobe Parkinson and
- 2:55Speaker 1: that's a that's a massive a lot of human bodyness
- 2:59Speaker 1: to to move some people. So he was doing pretty
- 3:02Speaker 1: good in the run game, and then he held his
- 3:04Speaker 1: own in the passing game. With the sack that he
- 3:06Speaker 1: gave up, I think was there was a pressure from
- 3:08Speaker 1: the guard and then you know, kind of stepped a
- 3:11Speaker 1: little bit deeper into the right side and then it
- 3:13Speaker 1: kind of gave stones Gut an opportunity to get the sack.
- 3:17Speaker 1: But I was impressed with how he played. And I
- 3:19Speaker 1: was also impressed with how Austin blythe played. You know,
- 3:22Speaker 1: I've been critical of them over the last couple of weeks,
- 3:25Speaker 1: but he did a pretty good job against Quinton Williams.
- 3:27Speaker 1: You know, Quinton, I think maybe had a couple of
- 3:29Speaker 1: hits on the quarterback, but I think he only had
- 3:31Speaker 1: one tackle, so they did a pretty good job of
- 3:33Speaker 1: keeping him in check. Ray staying on the run game
- 3:37Speaker 1: and tight ends. You mentioned Jake Kerhan being eligible number
- 3:40Speaker 1: big seventy four out there. I know we used to
- 3:41Speaker 1: see that a lot when George Fan was a member
- 3:43Speaker 1: of the Seahawks. Will Disley went down, he's been on
- 3:46Speaker 1: ir what'd you see from the tight ends? Tyler Maybury
- 3:48Speaker 1: got in there for the first time, caught his first touchdown, passed,
- 3:51Speaker 1: But what'd you see from them? Kobe Parkinson as well
- 3:54Speaker 1: as Noah Fan and then I'll just throw in Jake
- 3:56Speaker 1: Kurhan as well. Kind of is that tight end slash
- 3:59Speaker 1: extra fans Wman. I thought they did a good job
- 4:02Speaker 1: of involving the tight ends again. You saw that they
- 4:05Speaker 1: were trying to get the ball to dis league they uh,
- 4:07Speaker 1: you know, they got the ball to fan like they
- 4:09Speaker 1: were trying to get to get the ball around to
- 4:12Speaker 1: the tight ends because to me, like that has been
- 4:14Speaker 1: the glue to the offense. That to me, that's what
- 4:16Speaker 1: unlocks this offense, is the use of the tight end
- 4:19Speaker 1: and the passing game. And so it was kind of
- 4:21Speaker 1: good to see them get those targets again. And then
- 4:23Speaker 1: you know, like we talked about Jake, uh, you know,
- 4:26Speaker 1: I think the only reason that you know, he loses
- 4:28Speaker 1: out that the right Taples spot is that he's probably
- 4:31Speaker 1: you know, in space, not as athletic as you like
- 4:34Speaker 1: in the pass blocker. But to me, he's one of
- 4:36Speaker 1: the more more effective run blockers on the team. So
- 4:39Speaker 1: to have him come in as that that uh, you know,
- 4:42Speaker 1: elephant position, I guess if you want to call it
- 4:44Speaker 1: as a tight end in the run game. I thought
- 4:46Speaker 1: that I thought they that was a good choice about
- 4:49Speaker 1: them to use him that way because he is he
- 4:51Speaker 1: is a dude that can move the powell and he
- 4:54Speaker 1: impacts the running game in a positive way. Let's go
- 4:57Speaker 1: to the other side of the football, the defense. His
- 5:00Speaker 1: man did not surrender a touchdown and got after the quarterback. Man,
- 5:05Speaker 1: a guy who we expected to have a big years
- 5:07Speaker 1: to kind of come on late. Darrell Taylor had two
- 5:10Speaker 1: and a half sacks, three QB hits. How far has
- 5:13Speaker 1: this young man come? Well, you know, it's interesting because
- 5:17Speaker 1: at the beginning of the season, man, I had so
- 5:19Speaker 1: much height for this dude, like he was a guy
- 5:20Speaker 1: that I was the most excited to watch this year.
- 5:23Speaker 1: And then after a couple of weeks he just wasn't
- 5:26Speaker 1: planned to where I think they wanted him to play.
- 5:28Speaker 1: And the new Wills who was playing pretty good, and
- 5:30Speaker 1: Masse was coming in and playing good. And then I
- 5:32Speaker 1: think it was a figured the guy's named Johnson Junior
- 5:36Speaker 1: d that that they had off the pride the squad
- 5:38Speaker 1: as I was playing well, and so he kind of lost,
- 5:41Speaker 1: you know, his planning time. But here we are at
- 5:43Speaker 1: the end of the season and uh and he's right
- 5:45Speaker 1: there at you know, double digit sacks just about it.
- 5:48Speaker 1: So the last few weeks. I think he's played a
- 5:50Speaker 1: little bit more into control, a little bit more focused,
- 5:52Speaker 1: and played with a purpose. Sometimes when he would rush
- 5:55Speaker 1: the quarterback, you're kind of like, and what is he
- 5:57Speaker 1: trying to get done? But you gotta have a game
- 5:59Speaker 1: plan rushing the back. It's not just I'm just gonna
- 6:01Speaker 1: run you around the corner. And so he's done a
- 6:03Speaker 1: good job with that, and then the interiors beef for
- 6:06Speaker 1: the line did a good job yesterday too, so Quentin
- 6:08Speaker 1: Jefferson had a sack and a half. But the other
- 6:11Speaker 1: guys are really pushing the pocket so that those edge
- 6:14Speaker 1: rushers can get to the quarterback. Help said Mike White
- 6:17Speaker 1: is not a real elusive dude, so you knew what
- 6:19Speaker 1: Spotty is going to be in. So they I think
- 6:21Speaker 1: they got with four sacks and ten hits on him.
- 6:23Speaker 1: So they did a really good job getting aft to
- 6:25Speaker 1: the quarterback yesterday. Staying on defense, one of the things
- 6:29Speaker 1: that happened on Sunday which hurt was Jordan Brooks went
- 6:32Speaker 1: down and looks like he has a serious ACL injury,
- 6:35Speaker 1: and your heart breaks for him for sure. He's having
- 6:36Speaker 1: a hell of a season. Who's you know, in the
- 6:38Speaker 1: top three in the NFL and tackles. So how does
- 6:41Speaker 1: this defense move forward, especially going into this last week
- 6:44Speaker 1: still fighting for the playoffs. What do you see from
- 6:46Speaker 1: Tanner muse and how can this defense kind of rally
- 6:48Speaker 1: without their leader Jordan Brooks out there wearing the green dot. Yeah, well,
- 6:52Speaker 1: you know, I think, you know, this is a time
- 6:55Speaker 1: where a guy like having a guy like Digs is
- 6:58Speaker 1: a big deal because he can provide that kind of
- 7:01Speaker 1: leadership and that spark and you know, bring some some
- 7:04Speaker 1: comfort to the to the defense. But then Cody Barton,
- 7:08Speaker 1: you know, when he's had to slid over and play
- 7:10Speaker 1: the middle backer, he's done a decent job. And so
- 7:13Speaker 1: news came in yesterday and got a you know, got
- 7:16Speaker 1: a pass defense and made a few tackles in the
- 7:18Speaker 1: time that he had to play. So I think there,
- 7:21Speaker 1: I think if they keep plan with the intensity just
- 7:24Speaker 1: the overall I think true font was talking about this
- 7:27Speaker 1: yesterday about it not being a single person, but being
- 7:31Speaker 1: like the whole offense, defense, special teams, and then also
- 7:34Speaker 1: just within each of those teams, everybody planned their roles.
- 7:38Speaker 1: So the pass rushing the past defense were connected yesterday,
- 7:41Speaker 1: So it has to be the same kind of thing
- 7:43Speaker 1: going into this week, just really relying on everybody to
- 7:46Speaker 1: show up and do their jobs to take up for
- 7:48Speaker 1: the big hole that that's going to be, uh not
- 7:51Speaker 1: having Brooks there. Well, Ray, the Seahawks taking on the
- 7:56Speaker 1: Rams this coming Sunday, Detroit Lions taking on the Packers.
- 8:00Speaker 1: We need you're both your teams to come out with
- 8:01Speaker 1: a victory and you're hoping Seats can get in the playoffs. Ray,
- 8:04Speaker 1: we appreciate you. You can hear Ray on the huddle
- 8:06Speaker 1: every Thursday inside the Trentes area as well on the
- 8:09Speaker 1: Seahawks pre and postgame show with Michael Bumps. Ray, appreciate
- 8:12Speaker 1: you chopping on with us. Thanks, appreciate your brothers. All Right,
- 8:17Speaker 1: that was our guy, Ray Roberts. Now it's time to
- 8:19Speaker 1: get back into the specifics of that game. What had happened?
- 8:23Speaker 1: See what happened at first? What had happened was undock
- 8:30Speaker 1: for weeks, bump for weeks. We have been begging the
- 8:32Speaker 1: Seahawks to get off to a fast start, and that
- 8:35Speaker 1: is exactly what we got on Sunday. Honestly, I think
- 8:38Speaker 1: it was the last time Seats got off to a
- 8:39Speaker 1: fast start was against the Raiders that didn't end well.
- 8:42Speaker 1: For them, but it gives you a chance to play
- 8:44Speaker 1: the game differently. On Sunday, first play from scrimmage, Ken
- 8:47Speaker 1: Walker takes the ball sixty yards down the Jets sideline.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Two plays later, Seahawks find the end zone. Is gee.
- 8:52Speaker 1: You know, Smith connects with Kobe Parkinson for twelve yard touchdown,
- 8:56Speaker 1: making getting the score seven to zero. We'll break that
- 8:58Speaker 1: down here in a little bit in the film session.
- 9:00Speaker 1: And then on the very next possession, Quandre digs picks
- 9:03Speaker 1: off Mike White holding that thing in the air bump.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Pete called it shameful. Well, that just happens the fun.
- 9:08Speaker 1: He was inspired by Dion. Yeah, he was made, he said,
- 9:11Speaker 1: Primetime did it. You know, he saw it, so he
- 9:13Speaker 1: wanted to do it too, man, And that was good.
- 9:16Speaker 1: I felt like the defense needed that, Quandre needed that.
- 9:20Speaker 1: The pro bowler looked like a pro bowler on that
- 9:23Speaker 1: right there. And the Hawks will go nine places fifty
- 9:25Speaker 1: seven yards and drive down. But I had to settle
- 9:27Speaker 1: four field goal that make to score ten to zero.
- 9:29Speaker 1: The Jets would answer with a field goal of their
- 9:31Speaker 1: own that makes score ten to three. And then Gino,
- 9:35Speaker 1: he goes right back down to field. He answers they
- 9:37Speaker 1: go seven play seventy five yards and he finds Taylor
- 9:40Speaker 1: Maybe for his first ever NFL reception. Happens to be
- 9:43Speaker 1: a touchdown, puts about fourteen to three. Yeah. I love
- 9:47Speaker 1: to see Maybe getting in the end zone because he's
- 9:49Speaker 1: been around for a long time. I got to first
- 9:52Speaker 1: introduced with him during the COVID season, so he's been
- 9:54Speaker 1: on the practice squad. He's been here working his tail
- 9:56Speaker 1: off every single day. So it's really cool to see him.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Obviously wish Will Dishley was playing, but cool to see
- 10:01Speaker 1: him out there and get his first NFL touchdown in reception.
- 10:05Speaker 1: So the Jets after that, they'd kick a field goal
- 10:07Speaker 1: in the next drive and they would take a seventeen
- 10:09Speaker 1: just six. The Seahawks will take a seventeen six lead
- 10:11Speaker 1: into the half. The second half did not feature a touchdown,
- 10:14Speaker 1: but the Seahawks remained in control. They were able to
- 10:17Speaker 1: kick two field goals. Had another driver they could have
- 10:19Speaker 1: Jason Myers, who's been nails all season, finally missed one,
- 10:23Speaker 1: but good to get that out of the way before
- 10:24Speaker 1: the Seahawks continue just run to the postseason. And then
- 10:27Speaker 1: one of those field goals were set up by Mike Jackson,
- 10:30Speaker 1: who intercepted, making the final score twenty three to six.
- 10:33Speaker 1: So good to see Bump. You know, it was good
- 10:34Speaker 1: to see the Seahawks being control from start to finish,
- 10:37Speaker 1: and it was their first lead since Week thirteen against
- 10:40Speaker 1: the Rams' that's man wild, Holy smokes. That don't even
- 10:43Speaker 1: seem right, man, that does not seem right. They were
- 10:45Speaker 1: also top of the league at one point, and when
- 10:48Speaker 1: it comes to turnover differential going into the game, they
- 10:51Speaker 1: were even. They were plus three with two picks in
- 10:53Speaker 1: a fumble recovery, held the Jets to two seventy nine,
- 10:56Speaker 1: as two weeks in a row they held opponents to
- 10:57Speaker 1: under three hundred yards. Also held the Jets of war
- 11:00Speaker 1: for thirteen on third downs at oh for two on
- 11:02Speaker 1: fourth one of the time of possession with bad news
- 11:05Speaker 1: out this thing, man, I saw when it happened, and
- 11:07Speaker 1: I knew it wasn't gonna be good. I was hoping
- 11:09Speaker 1: he just hyper extended his thing. But it looks like
- 11:11Speaker 1: Jordan Brooks will be done for the season with a
- 11:14Speaker 1: torn a CEO. Yeah, man, you feel for Brooks man,
- 11:17Speaker 1: because he was having a hell of a year. Gosh,
- 11:20Speaker 1: that sucks, But you know, this team rally's next man up.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Cody Barton put the green dot on and Tanner Muse
- 11:25Speaker 1: stepped in there. You got John Radigan out there as well,
- 11:27Speaker 1: and you also have Nick Bulore. So there's some guys
- 11:29Speaker 1: who played linebacker in this league, but hopefully help pitch
- 11:32Speaker 1: in for Jordan Brooks. But there was tons of guys
- 11:34Speaker 1: who made plays on Sunday, playmakers, playmakers. Geno Smith back
- 11:49Speaker 1: at it eighteen to twenty nine, one hundred and eighty
- 11:51Speaker 1: three yards, two touchdowns QB rating of one oh three
- 11:54Speaker 1: point one. People forget man. This Jets came in with
- 11:57Speaker 1: a very talented defense. We saw it on four display.
- 12:00Speaker 1: They got Quinnin Williams Sauce Gardner, who is as good
- 12:03Speaker 1: as advertised seeing him living in person. That boy can play.
- 12:07Speaker 1: They had DJ read Joiners, so they have a lot
- 12:09Speaker 1: of good talented players. And Gino Smith did what he could,
- 12:12Speaker 1: had a good game and completed, most importantly, because I'm
- 12:15Speaker 1: Patty not not Gino, this is this coming from me,
- 12:18Speaker 1: completed his revenge shore going three and oh against his
- 12:20Speaker 1: former teams, beat the Giants and Charters and the Jets.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Gino had nothing but good things to say about the Jets. Organization.
- 12:25Speaker 1: He harbors no ill will, no bitter feelings, but I
- 12:28Speaker 1: know it's still had to feel good because you know,
- 12:31Speaker 1: I saw a stat today bump Gino just went over
- 12:34Speaker 1: four thousand yards. Only other player to do on Seahawks
- 12:36Speaker 1: history is Russell Wilson. The Jets, they never had nobody
- 12:39Speaker 1: throw over four thousand and they've been looking for some
- 12:42Speaker 1: of that stuff since Joe Namath or something like that.
- 12:44Speaker 1: So it's been it's been pretty well. So it's good
- 12:46Speaker 1: to see Gino ballad against his former team and you know,
- 12:48Speaker 1: also hit a couple incentives in the process. Yeah. Man,
- 12:51Speaker 1: he made some money this year and again he completed
- 12:54Speaker 1: the revenge Tour. He's going to toss for thirty touchdowns.
- 12:58Speaker 1: I'm gonna go ahead and claim it. That'll put him
- 12:59Speaker 1: in the ranks with Dave Craig and Russell Wilson as
- 13:02Speaker 1: the only quarterbacks in franchise history to do it. So
- 13:05Speaker 1: Geno man this continue to have a good year. Ken
- 13:08Speaker 1: Walker is having a good year to one hundred thirty
- 13:10Speaker 1: three yards and twenty three carries. He had one hundred
- 13:12Speaker 1: and forty two scrimmage yards yesterday. So he's a third
- 13:15Speaker 1: rookie and franchise history with a thousand scrimmage yards and
- 13:17Speaker 1: rings second in franchise history for the most rushing yards
- 13:21Speaker 1: by a rookie. He's got nine thirty six. He needs
- 13:24Speaker 1: just sixty four yards to reach a thousand. Something tells
- 13:27Speaker 1: me the Hawks are gonna make sure he gets it
- 13:30Speaker 1: in DJ Dallas, the other running back, had himself a
- 13:32Speaker 1: day one hundred and six all purpose yards, seven carries
- 13:35Speaker 1: for forty three, three receptions, two pump returns. He's on
- 13:39Speaker 1: special teams as a returner and as a tackler. DJ
- 13:44Speaker 1: doesn't leave the field. That's when you need out of
- 13:46Speaker 1: a guy like him. Oh yeah, I love to see it.
- 13:48Speaker 1: DJ's being an important part of this team all year long,
- 13:50Speaker 1: and it's good to see him get utilized. I think
- 13:51Speaker 1: that's exactly how it needs to be used. A little
- 13:53Speaker 1: bit of run, a little bit of pass, a little
- 13:55Speaker 1: bit on third down in the return game. So I
- 13:57Speaker 1: love to see DJ falling out. And then you guys
- 14:00Speaker 1: mentioned it, or we talked about it with ray Quintin.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Jefferson had a hell of a game. Four tackles, one
- 14:05Speaker 1: and a half sacks, two TFLs, three QB hits. Now
- 14:08Speaker 1: it's five and a half sacks on the season, which
- 14:10Speaker 1: is a career high. And another guy, Darryl Taylor we
- 14:12Speaker 1: mentioned earlier, three tackles, two and a half sacks, one
- 14:15Speaker 1: pass defended, and three QB hits, and it was just
- 14:17Speaker 1: refreshing the season pressure. It was refreshing to look at
- 14:20Speaker 1: another quarterback who's kind of rattled. You see Mike White,
- 14:23Speaker 1: He's throwing everything high, He's throwing balls in the dirt.
- 14:26Speaker 1: He was never comfortable in the pocket. And previously a
- 14:28Speaker 1: lot of a lot of quarterbacks haven't had that pressure.
- 14:31Speaker 1: You know, the Sam Darnolds of the world. Other guys
- 14:33Speaker 1: that were in able to stand in that pocket brought
- 14:35Speaker 1: purdy and be comfortable. That was not the case on Sunday.
- 14:38Speaker 1: So open the Kahawks can kind of move that forward
- 14:41Speaker 1: as a head go against the Rams and hopefully into
- 14:43Speaker 1: the postseason. Yeah, Man, Quentin Jefferson and Darryl Taylor both
- 14:48Speaker 1: did their thing. Man, you mentioned Quentin and his statue.
- 14:50Speaker 1: You got DT with his two and a half sacks,
- 14:52Speaker 1: one pass defended. But this secondary, I was proud of
- 14:56Speaker 1: the secondary. Obviously, the big matchup goaling in was Terek Woolen,
- 15:00Speaker 1: his sauce Gardner Sauce had him the other day. He
- 15:02Speaker 1: had four passes defended, but Tarik did two, seven tackles
- 15:05Speaker 1: one pass defend him. Mike Jackson recorded his first career interception,
- 15:10Speaker 1: fumbled that thing. His own teammate force bumbled us. Okay,
- 15:13Speaker 1: we kept possession. He also had four tackles in one
- 15:16Speaker 1: pass defended him. We saw a lot of Jonathan Abram
- 15:19Speaker 1: as well. There's a lot of that three safety look
- 15:21Speaker 1: we saw against the Jets. He had five tackles and
- 15:24Speaker 1: one pass defend him. But Quandre diggs Man he became
- 15:27Speaker 1: the only player in the NFL to record at least
- 15:29Speaker 1: three interceptions in each of the past six seasons. That
- 15:33Speaker 1: is consistency. And this group held Mike White to two
- 15:36Speaker 1: hundred and forty yards in a forty seven point four
- 15:39Speaker 1: QB rating. Nita's to say, man, the secondary showed up
- 15:42Speaker 1: and did what they're supposed to do. Absolutely, And I
- 15:44Speaker 1: look back at the snap couch. Jonathan Abram played every snap,
- 15:48Speaker 1: which is crazy. A couple of weeks ago, I think
- 15:49Speaker 1: he played two snaps, so that three safety look, especially
- 15:52Speaker 1: with you know Brooks out as well, I thought I
- 15:54Speaker 1: was really cool to see him. Abraham almost had a
- 15:56Speaker 1: pick too. He'll tell you he should have caught that, like, yes, today,
- 16:00Speaker 1: but it was good to see them. The secondary definitely
- 16:02Speaker 1: balled out, So I was really impressed by that. And
- 16:04Speaker 1: Quandre Diggs, you're starting to get on list with like
- 16:06Speaker 1: Ed Reid and stuff when you start doing that kind
- 16:08Speaker 1: of stuff. I was looking it up. I think Ed
- 16:09Speaker 1: reid history of at least three was eight seasons. So
- 16:13Speaker 1: we'll see if Quandre can eventually catch him. And when
- 16:15Speaker 1: you start talking about the goats of the goat to
- 16:17Speaker 1: that position, you're in good company with Quandre Diggs. But Bump,
- 16:21Speaker 1: it wasn't. It wasn't an electric receiver round up in
- 16:25Speaker 1: terms of pass catchers. But what did you see from
- 16:28Speaker 1: them on Sunday? I saw DK only catch one football.
- 16:31Speaker 1: I saw that for three yards. This has to be
- 16:33Speaker 1: one of the lowest production productive games for him. But hey,
- 16:38Speaker 1: you get the w and I'm sure he'll take that.
- 16:40Speaker 1: DJ land all receivers as a running back three receptions
- 16:44Speaker 1: for fifty five yards. Do a fan had two for
- 16:46Speaker 1: forty Kolbe Parkinson scores for the first time since Week one. Crazy.
- 16:50Speaker 1: As soon as he scored, had to look it up.
- 16:52Speaker 1: I go, what's the last time this dude got in
- 16:53Speaker 1: the end zone. Yeah, sixteen seventeen weeks ago, he had
- 16:57Speaker 1: five for thirty six tight ends. Let the charge with
- 17:00Speaker 1: tightens and running backs. Tyler Lockett at two for fifteen.
- 17:02Speaker 1: I believe he needs how many more? He's close to
- 17:05Speaker 1: a thousand and need's what like forty to fifty more yards?
- 17:08Speaker 1: Reached a thousand yards receiving, I believe, Yeah, I think
- 17:10Speaker 1: it's even less than that. Honestly, he's right there and
- 17:12Speaker 1: that's gonna continue a streak where it's four consecutive seasons
- 17:15Speaker 1: with that, so hopefully keeps that going. So we got
- 17:17Speaker 1: some marks to hit. We gotta make sure ken Walker
- 17:20Speaker 1: gets his a thousand yards. We gotta make sure Locke
- 17:22Speaker 1: gets hiss a thousand yards. We also saw Lakwan Treadwell.
- 17:25Speaker 1: He had two catches on two targets for fifteen yards.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Kim Walker had one for nine. It was a good
- 17:30Speaker 1: one for nine. Two man off the backfield makes a
- 17:32Speaker 1: guy miss getting north south, and then we talked about
- 17:34Speaker 1: Tyler had his one catch for a touchdown. God Win
- 17:38Speaker 1: got a reception one for three yards, and then Kay
- 17:42Speaker 1: Johnson didn't get any recessions, but he was out there
- 17:44Speaker 1: and had a couple of targets. So you know we
- 17:47Speaker 1: saw we're seeing nangs pop up on this list that
- 17:49Speaker 1: we haven't seen it ever or in a while. So well,
- 17:52Speaker 1: even if they don't produce a lot, you know they're
- 17:55Speaker 1: they're in the box score. Give him some love, Yeah, bumba,
- 17:58Speaker 1: I just look it up. Tyler Lock has nine hundred
- 18:00Speaker 1: seventy nine receiving yards this season, so he's twenty one short.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Pretty certain he's gonna get that. I think it was
- 18:06Speaker 1: what it was two years ago, is during the COVID
- 18:08Speaker 1: season where Tyler, DK and even I think Demo the
- 18:13Speaker 1: time had some incentives at the end and they made
- 18:15Speaker 1: sure boom, Tyler's gonna get his record first possession. DK
- 18:19Speaker 1: got his thing, and I think on the last play
- 18:20Speaker 1: of the game Shotty called where rusted little touch Bassid Demos,
- 18:24Speaker 1: So we hit the incentive. So it's something the coaches
- 18:26Speaker 1: know about, so I think they take pride in that
- 18:28Speaker 1: and letting those guys sit those milestones. But let's flip
- 18:31Speaker 1: it over to the coaches corner we talked about a
- 18:33Speaker 1: little bit ago. Geno Smith finds Kobe Parkinson in the
- 18:37Speaker 1: end zone for twelve year a touchdown. Second down to nine,
- 18:39Speaker 1: empty backfield for Geno. Four receivers across the board. Gino
- 18:43Speaker 1: has time. He's gonna throw in the back corner, touchdown.
- 18:48Speaker 1: What a start. Kobe Parkinson from twelve yards out runs
- 18:53Speaker 1: a little bender into the back corner and she don't
- 18:57Speaker 1: ways it up perfectly totally. The bit tight end at
- 19:00Speaker 1: six to seven can reach up and grab it. Good Seahawks.
- 19:04Speaker 1: What aren't we four plays into the game taken US
- 19:07Speaker 1: six nothing lead? Yeah, you gotta love it, love to
- 19:12Speaker 1: see it, especially early Raves just said it. What four
- 19:14Speaker 1: plays into the game actually was three plays, I want
- 19:16Speaker 1: to say, and they scored touchdown. You get a little
- 19:19Speaker 1: empty Look. You got two receivers to the left of Gena.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Actually you have DK and then ken Walker in the
- 19:23Speaker 1: slot to the right. You got the big boys, Kobe
- 19:26Speaker 1: Parkinson closest to line of scrimmage. I believe that's no offense.
- 19:29Speaker 1: And then you have oh no, sorry, that was lock
- 19:31Speaker 1: it up top with DK. You got ken Walker on
- 19:34Speaker 1: the bottom on the outside with two tight ends inside
- 19:36Speaker 1: of him. Kobe being the number three receiver. You got
- 19:39Speaker 1: lock it that goes in motion. It's man, but that
- 19:43Speaker 1: safety or dB passes, lock it off to the defender
- 19:47Speaker 1: on the outside on the second level there, and you
- 19:49Speaker 1: should know once the Seahaws get down here, they're gonna
- 19:51Speaker 1: work the back of the end zone that corner. That's
- 19:53Speaker 1: exactly what happens. You got lock it on the little
- 19:56Speaker 1: bubble look right there, Ken walk with the number one receiver,
- 20:00Speaker 1: just say a spot right is what we can call it.
- 20:02Speaker 1: Ap and just gets inside and then you got no offense.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Run him like a shallow dig. So what that does
- 20:07Speaker 1: is it attracts the defenders below. And then Kobe Parkinson
- 20:11Speaker 1: just works the corner and he gets held right here
- 20:13Speaker 1: pi like a mug, but he finds a way to
- 20:17Speaker 1: getting hands off him, snaps it to the corner and then,
- 20:20Speaker 1: like Rabel said, six seven, you just throw that thing
- 20:23Speaker 1: up and Kobe's gonna come down with it. That's kind
- 20:26Speaker 1: of where we've been waiting for all season long. You know,
- 20:28Speaker 1: Kobe Parkinson did a lot of work this offseason getting
- 20:31Speaker 1: his body right, a lot more physical, a lot more
- 20:32Speaker 1: in the run game, which he's been asked to do
- 20:34Speaker 1: all season long, and he's been good at that. But
- 20:37Speaker 1: he's a six seven frame. Like you said, you can't
- 20:38Speaker 1: teach height, and that's what we've kind of been looking for,
- 20:40Speaker 1: this red zone threat. And you mentioned a lot of
- 20:43Speaker 1: times you'll see Tyler Lockett on this corner route down
- 20:46Speaker 1: here in the end zone. I like how they kind
- 20:48Speaker 1: of switched it up. And that's Kobe Parkinson just going
- 20:50Speaker 1: out there making him play, getting the feet down, like
- 20:51Speaker 1: you said, while being held. So love to see Kobe
- 20:54Speaker 1: making plays because they need him. He's a guy that
- 20:57Speaker 1: can really I think between those three between this no
- 21:00Speaker 1: a fan in Parkinson, you had throw Mabri in there.
- 21:02Speaker 1: This is a really talented receiving corps guys that can
- 21:04Speaker 1: do it all. So love to see. Cool we're getting
- 21:07Speaker 1: after it. But back in Victory formation, we haven't done
- 21:11Speaker 1: this a lot of the past six weeks. So it's
- 21:13Speaker 1: always always good for Seahawk Victory. Never take it for granted.
- 21:20Speaker 1: A knee taking fire Huntley, they're just gonna let the
- 21:22Speaker 1: clock wind down. But it's not even gonna bother taking
- 21:25Speaker 1: that last time out. Seahawks get the job done when
- 21:30Speaker 1: they absolutely needed it. They started fast and never looked back.
- 21:32Speaker 1: It's a lot easier to play with the lead. It
- 21:34Speaker 1: turns out bump Ken Walker got the running game on
- 21:37Speaker 1: track back to back hundred yard games. So it's really
- 21:39Speaker 1: cool to see that. Yeah, man, um, it's nice when
- 21:42Speaker 1: you jump out in front and this defense doesn't feel
- 21:45Speaker 1: like they have to play perfect, but then you jump
- 21:47Speaker 1: out in front, then the defense had your back with
- 21:49Speaker 1: an interception. So a great start. Ken Walker over a
- 21:53Speaker 1: huntrey yards for the second time. And then one of
- 21:55Speaker 1: the questions going into this game was all right, hey,
- 21:57Speaker 1: Lucas is gonna be out, Who's gonna step up? And
- 21:59Speaker 1: how well they played? It was a stone foreside and
- 22:01Speaker 1: he had an extra game. We talked a big where
- 22:04Speaker 1: he mentioned he played well in this offense, took care
- 22:06Speaker 1: of the football. It was the first turnover free game
- 22:10Speaker 1: of this season, which is remarkable to hear. I didn't.
- 22:13Speaker 1: It doesn't feel like they turned the ball over every game.
- 22:15Speaker 1: I know as of Lady's felt like that, but the
- 22:17Speaker 1: whole season I was wild. Yeah, man, I didn't believe
- 22:20Speaker 1: that when I looked it up, man. So it was
- 22:21Speaker 1: really cool to see the Seas take care of the football.
- 22:23Speaker 1: That's what we've asked pretty much all season long. And
- 22:26Speaker 1: then you look at you look at defensively, they kept
- 22:28Speaker 1: the Jets out of the end zone. Can't ask for
- 22:29Speaker 1: anything more than that. They did what they needed to
- 22:32Speaker 1: do and you wanted to see that it gets a
- 22:33Speaker 1: struggling Jets offense, and that's exactly what they did, and
- 22:36Speaker 1: they got after Mike White four times created three turnovers.
- 22:40Speaker 1: Good all around win. But yeah, good win for these dudes.
- 22:45Speaker 1: Now it's about just keeping things going. Man. You got
- 22:48Speaker 1: the Rams coming up. You got to take your business
- 22:50Speaker 1: there and you need some help from the Lions to
- 22:53Speaker 1: get into the playoffs. So first things first, you just
- 22:56Speaker 1: take care of your business, you handle your assignment, and
- 22:59Speaker 1: then you can sit back and see what happens in
- 23:01Speaker 1: the late game with the lines. Yes, Seahawks fans clinging
- 23:05Speaker 1: onto their playoff hopes. We'll keep you posting on that.
- 23:07Speaker 1: We'll preview the Rams on Wednesday with the Seahawks Podcast.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Then we'll join you on Sunday for the game and
- 23:12Speaker 1: may pay attention and get to a radio during the
- 23:14Speaker 1: post game because that's when the Packers and Lines are playing.
- 23:17Speaker 1: We'll keep you updated on all those scores. But the
- 23:20Speaker 1: Seahawks beat the Jets twenty thirty six. He's Michael Bumpus,
- 23:23Speaker 1: I'm Nasa Trobe. This Ben how talk talk to you
- 23:25Speaker 1: on Wednesday,
