- 1:13Speaker 3: Today, people think, like when you look at us and
- 1:16Speaker 3: we've been able to go to Davos and you know,
- 1:19Speaker 3: the State of the Union and the Vice President's house,
- 1:23Speaker 3: and the Grammys and the super Bowl and the NBA
- 1:29Speaker 3: All Star Game and a lot of times, what I
- 1:34Speaker 3: realized is that people just think it happens by luck.
- 1:39Speaker 3: But there's a reason why you see the same people, Like,
- 1:41Speaker 3: there's the reason why I fat Joe's every single way
- 1:44Speaker 3: everywhere and he's the only one right. So it's actually
- 1:49Speaker 3: a set formula, at least that I my set formula.
- 1:52Speaker 3: I've actually taken time I was gonna write an ebook.
- 1:55Speaker 3: I put together seven principles on how to effectively network.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Then I expanded it to ten. I put together like
- 2:01Speaker 3: a ten commandments of sorts that I've learned from the
- 2:05Speaker 3: time when I actually first started as a financial advisor
- 2:09Speaker 3: sixteen years ago to now everything that I learned over
- 2:14Speaker 3: the course of that sixteen years, which is not it's
- 2:18Speaker 3: not it's not random, and it's not an accident. It's
- 2:21Speaker 3: actually a scientific formula that if you follow you have
- 2:28Speaker 3: a you probably have a very good chance of becoming
- 2:30Speaker 3: a millionaire if you follow it.
- 2:34Speaker 1: What are three of the tips I got to ask
- 2:36Speaker 1: for the audience.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Three to the tip. Three of the tips are, let
- 2:43Speaker 3: me look at my notes, do your research before, know
- 2:48Speaker 3: who you want to meet before you actually get to
- 2:50Speaker 3: the point. Right, that's the great point. That's the point.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Even when I was a financial advisor had the position
- 2:56Speaker 3: of referral. So a lot of times people go about
- 2:58Speaker 3: the referral situation. They think, I'm gonna ask Ian's my client. Ian,
- 3:04Speaker 3: can you give me three people that you know? That's
- 3:07Speaker 3: that's the lazy way for referral. You should already know
- 3:10Speaker 3: who you want to be introduced to. How do you
- 3:12Speaker 3: do that? In those days, it was going through LinkedIn.
- 3:15Speaker 3: That's how it was taught. Like you go through somebody's
- 3:17Speaker 3: LinkedIn page and then you see Ian is connected with
- 3:21Speaker 3: the head of Coca Cola North America. Right now, I
- 3:25Speaker 3: can position to ask a little bit better, so I
- 3:28Speaker 3: can say, Okay, hey, I see you follow John Smith,
- 3:31Speaker 3: who the CEO of co Cola North America.
- 3:33Speaker 4: Do you know?
- 3:35Speaker 3: And yeah, you know it's my kid's godfather. Oh yeah,
- 3:38Speaker 3: oh yeah. Do you think that he would be a
- 3:40Speaker 3: beneficial for me to a beneficial person for me to
- 3:43Speaker 3: reach out to?
- 3:44Speaker 4: Yeah, I can.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Ask, okay, So here's how I will follow up with that.
- 3:49Speaker 3: So when you say yeah, I can ask, that's not
- 3:52Speaker 3: good enough because you're probably not going to ask, right,
- 3:55Speaker 3: It's like life is gonna happen. So I say, okay,
- 3:59Speaker 3: do you mind reaching out to him? And then you
- 4:02Speaker 3: say yeah, it said okay, well if you reach out
- 4:04Speaker 3: to him. This is this is how I will.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Want when I want you to say it. Yep.
- 4:08Speaker 4: It happens all the time, even for us.
- 4:10Speaker 3: When people introduce us, they'll be like, yea, this is
- 4:11Speaker 3: Rashad from earlier Lesha podcast, And I'm like, I would
- 4:14Speaker 3: actually prefer if you.
- 4:16Speaker 4: Say that we own a media company. Da da da da.
- 4:18Speaker 3: So even back then, it was like they would introduce
- 4:20Speaker 3: me as somebody that sold life insurance. I knew that
- 4:23Speaker 3: that would already be a turn off to people, So
- 4:25Speaker 3: I would say, can you introduce me as your financial
- 4:28Speaker 3: advisor who helps you with life insurance, financial planning, budgeting,
- 4:35Speaker 3: and college savings. Right, yeah, you got a position to
- 4:38Speaker 3: ask correctly. But then that's still you still have to
- 4:41Speaker 3: go a step further. So then I would say, okay,
- 4:45Speaker 3: is it okay? When do you think you'll be able
- 4:47Speaker 3: to give him a call? I'll call him on Monday.
- 4:49Speaker 3: So I would put in my book to call you
- 4:51Speaker 3: on Tuesday hey, or text you Hey, just wanted to
- 4:53Speaker 3: follow up? Did you get a chance to talk to
- 4:55Speaker 3: because I'm gonna get the number. I'm gonna get the
- 4:56Speaker 3: number for you, But I don't want to call a
- 4:58Speaker 3: referral until you spoke to them, because then it's like
- 5:01Speaker 3: a cold call if you just randomly call somebody, So
- 5:03Speaker 3: all of that warm be So you call a person
- 5:08Speaker 3: and you ask them if they call if they didn't
- 5:10Speaker 3: call yet, and you give them a friendly reminder, right,
- 5:13Speaker 3: so you encourage them so then when they actually do call,
- 5:17Speaker 3: now you're in a position to follow up.
- 5:19Speaker 4: So that's just one example that.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Was like a five minute thing of how I'm doing
- 5:25Speaker 3: research beforehand, positioning myself to be put in a position
- 5:30Speaker 3: to win. It's still no guarantee that you're gonna make
- 5:32Speaker 3: that person a client, but think about how much you
- 5:36Speaker 3: more you're in a position to win as opposed to
- 5:39Speaker 3: just saying, hey, n who can I talk to right,
- 5:43Speaker 3: that's a random way, Like networking is not random.
- 5:46Speaker 4: There's actually a set science to it.
- 5:48Speaker 3: It's very strategic. Yeah, it's extremely strategic. So that's one
- 5:52Speaker 3: of them. It's a whole list.
- 5:55Speaker 1: And really cool.
- 5:55Speaker 5: I asked both of you for all the contents that
- 5:57Speaker 5: you have, you guys mastered this. How many messages are
- 6:01Speaker 5: you sending to day to follow up people just to
- 6:03Speaker 5: remain top of mind? Like take Megan for example, a
- 6:07Speaker 5: sixteen Z Like, it's not coincidence that you do a
- 6:10Speaker 5: bunch with them, but there's thousands of contexts.
- 6:12Speaker 1: How many are you.
- 6:13Speaker 5: Going through, like on a daily or weekly basis to
- 6:15Speaker 5: like remain top of mind.
- 6:19Speaker 3: So for me, it's not so much a set at
- 6:22Speaker 3: this point, it's not so much a set of like
- 6:25Speaker 3: the top of mind thing. I do use social media
- 6:28Speaker 3: a lot to kind of stay involved in what some
- 6:30Speaker 3: people have going on, and I'll send the messages congratulations
- 6:34Speaker 3: so you just got a promotion or you just had
- 6:36Speaker 3: a kid or stuff like that. That's kind of how
- 6:38Speaker 3: I'm personally staying engaged. Unless it's a campaign, like if
- 6:41Speaker 3: we know that we have to, you know, get this
- 6:45Speaker 3: person to do something, it's like okay, now, this is
- 6:47Speaker 3: a top priority to make sure. Other than that, it's
- 6:50Speaker 3: just it's real organic, like you know, as far as
- 6:53Speaker 3: that's concerned at this point.
- 6:55Speaker 1: So I'm definitely organic. But I'm studying everybody.
- 6:58Speaker 2: So if it's a guest, if it's somebody, I want
- 7:00Speaker 2: to know your birthday, I know your kids' birthday, I
- 7:02Speaker 2: know all that. I remember, Like we do interviews and
- 7:04Speaker 2: i'd be like, yo, happy birthday, Like how you know.
- 7:06Speaker 2: I'm like I remember, Yeah, I've studied you before you
- 7:08Speaker 2: even got here. But it's also like when we can
- 7:10Speaker 2: add value, right, if there's something that we can add
- 7:12Speaker 2: value to help you, then it's easy. That's just gonna
- 7:15Speaker 2: be a reach out. Hey, I got this person that
- 7:16Speaker 2: I think you need to meet.
- 7:18Speaker 1: This is great. I heard that you're doing this or
- 7:20Speaker 1: they can help you.
- 7:21Speaker 2: And then sometimes it's just that if I haven't heard
- 7:23Speaker 2: from somebody in a while, always I'll just go through
- 7:24Speaker 2: my contacts, just tap, how's everything going?
- 7:27Speaker 1: You good? Yo? I love what you're doing.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Congratulations, congratulations on every congratulations, congratulation.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Everything you do, and it could be anything.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Look, yo, I saw you sho shout out to to
- 7:38Speaker 2: you know, we got people in our neighborhood that are
- 7:40Speaker 2: starting businesses and start Yo. I know, I saw that
- 7:43Speaker 2: podcast you started. I've been watching it where you're watching it.
- 7:45Speaker 2: I watch everything, man, keep going, just don't stop. So
- 7:48Speaker 2: when people know that you're paying attention, when you've taken
- 7:51Speaker 2: out your time to acknowledge something that they've done, they
- 7:53Speaker 2: appreciate even more. And so that that's just become natural.
- 7:56Speaker 2: So social media helps that because people always want to
- 7:58Speaker 2: tell about what they're doing. So just quick congratulations, keep going,
- 8:03Speaker 2: don't stop. I love what you're doing.
- 8:05Speaker 1: It goes a long way for sure.
- 8:07Speaker 3: So I don't have time to go through the whole thing.
- 8:09Speaker 3: But you know what I am doing, And I was
- 8:12Speaker 3: going to write a book. I was toying with the
- 8:14Speaker 3: idea of writing an e book. Okay, I still might
- 8:19Speaker 3: because it's beneficial and I think it's something. I think
- 8:23Speaker 3: it's something that people can actually really like learn from.
- 8:27Speaker 3: But in the meantime, I'm teaching a master.
- 8:33Speaker 4: Word master class.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Word yeah z man, Yeah, I'm putting my class you
- 8:44Speaker 1: got a master.
- 8:47Speaker 3: This Saturday, twelve o'clock Yo University. I'll be teaching my
- 8:51Speaker 3: tense step master class on how the network to become
- 8:55Speaker 3: a million and this.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Is you know, I'm listening to the story because this
- 9:00Speaker 2: is not fiction. This is all fact. This is a
- 9:02Speaker 2: living testimonies. Like I was the person I remember when
- 9:06Speaker 2: he was like yo introduced like I want to know
- 9:08Speaker 2: three people that we don't know together, and it was like.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Oh, your principal, let's talk at her. Go ask you
- 9:12Speaker 1: on Monday? Did you ask her on Monday?
- 9:14Speaker 4: Well, these these all these things are really happening.
- 9:16Speaker 1: I'm the person that actually did those things.
- 9:18Speaker 3: These all trial and error. That's I had to fine tune.
- 9:20Speaker 3: Like I said, it's six sixteen years. But this isn't theory.
- 9:24Speaker 3: This is actually real, the real factors. So I'm going
- 9:26Speaker 3: to be doing an Eyo University master class ten step
- 9:30Speaker 3: program on how to network to become a millionaire millionaires.
- 9:36Speaker 1: There's no there's no coincidence.
- 9:37Speaker 3: What time Saturday, twelve pm Eastern Standard Talk. If you're
- 9:41Speaker 3: an earner, sign up.
- 9:43Speaker 5: I don't want to see my eyes right now, y'all
- 9:46Speaker 5: joint joining?
- 9:49Speaker 4: Okay, Oh.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Well, once again we play thank you to thank you
- 9:54Speaker 3: to represent them Lauren under what I really I really
- 9:57Speaker 3: appreciate you and her whole staff.
- 9:59Speaker 4: I really do a pret shiate that so much.
- 10:00Speaker 1: I saw you messed some alumni too.
- 10:03Speaker 4: Jamo Bowman was there, Jamal Bowman, Jamal Congressman, Jamal Bowman.
- 10:08Speaker 5: Really quick in a masterclass, will will you be able
- 10:10Speaker 5: to show like a screenshot of an email or a
- 10:12Speaker 5: text that you're saying so people can use it as
- 10:14Speaker 5: a template.
- 10:14Speaker 1: I think it'll be a great value at.
- 10:16Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure. Can you remember that? Gotcha tell me
- 10:22Speaker 3: to do that. I'll put together a slide. That's a
- 10:24Speaker 3: good That's I'm glad you said that though, because I
- 10:26Speaker 3: used to I did have a template. Uh even you
- 10:28Speaker 3: know what I used to have. I used to have
- 10:29Speaker 3: letters too. I used to have thank you letters. So
- 10:33Speaker 3: my referral probably helped a lot. Crazy I used to sit,
- 10:36Speaker 3: I used to send letters to referral. It was a
- 10:38Speaker 3: whole thing. So yeah, man, that was that was. It
- 10:43Speaker 3: was like going to boot camp.
- 10:44Speaker 5: Man.
- 10:44Speaker 4: You learn a lot during those times.
- 10:45Speaker 1: And I was there, man, absolutely, I was there as
- 10:47Speaker 1: a fact.
- 10:48Speaker 6: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 10:52Speaker 6: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from Al Salvador
- 10:56Speaker 6: accused of murdering a Texas man of Venezuelan charge with
- 11:00Speaker 6: filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 11:04Speaker 6: some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of President
- 11:08Speaker 6: Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christy Noman, the United States
- 11:11Speaker 6: Secretary of Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted illegal border
- 11:16Speaker 6: crossings are at the lowest levels ever recorded, and over
- 11:20Speaker 6: one hundred thousand illegal aliens have been arrested. If you
- 11:23Speaker 6: are here illegally, your next you will be fine nearly
- 11:27Speaker 6: one thousand dollars a day, imprisoned, and deported. You will
- 11:31Speaker 6: never return. But if you register using our CBP home
- 11:35Speaker 6: app and leave now, you could be allowed to return legally.
- 11:38Speaker 6: Do what's right. Leave now. Under President Trump, America's laws,
- 11:43Speaker 6: border and families will be protected.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Sponsored by the United States Department of Homeland Security.
