- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listenings KFI AM six forty The bill handles show
- 0:04Speaker 1: on demand on the iHeartRadio f.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Yours call de Ice, you willing to sacrifice? O Love
- 0:17Speaker 2: KFI AM six forty handle here. It is a Tuesday
- 0:23Speaker 2: Taco Tuesday morning, October twenty one. Matter of fact, twenty one.
- 0:27Speaker 2: It's the twenty first day of the shutdown, and Congress
- 0:32Speaker 2: is still at a stalemate and it's going to really
- 0:36Speaker 2: already start it to some extent, hurting the p pocketbook
- 0:39Speaker 2: of so many federal employees, and it's going to now
- 0:43Speaker 2: ramp up big time. Also Vice President jd Vance and
- 0:47Speaker 2: Tel Aviv today trying to keep this ceasefire somehow together,
- 0:52Speaker 2: and it's just not doing a really good job. Okay,
- 0:54Speaker 2: let's turn to some local news, and that has to
- 0:59Speaker 2: do with La Mayor Karen Bass and Congressional Democrats out
- 1:03Speaker 2: of Los Angeles. Congress people have announced there's going to
- 1:07Speaker 2: be an investigation into the misconduct potential misconduct of the
- 1:11Speaker 2: Trump administration's aggressive immigration crackdown that has grabbed citizens and
- 1:17Speaker 2: made use of racial profiling, they say, and terrified communities
- 1:21Speaker 2: for months. Well, yeah, all of that is true, and
- 1:26Speaker 2: the basic problem is will the Trump administration be stopped
- 1:32Speaker 2: by the courts, because I will tell you Congress is
- 1:34Speaker 2: not going to stop them. That can be all well,
- 1:36Speaker 2: not even attempt to stop. There will be nothing but
- 1:42Speaker 2: these investigations going nowhere. Why because both Congress and the
- 1:46Speaker 2: Senate are controlled by Republicans. And you think any negative information,
- 1:53Speaker 2: as in statement or resolution coming out of either the
- 1:56Speaker 2: Senate or the House somehow is going to be negative
- 1:59Speaker 2: towards the president. Of course not. I can't wait for
- 2:01Speaker 2: the hearings just to see the difference between the Democrats
- 2:05Speaker 2: and Republicans. I love those, don't you? These hearings have
- 2:08Speaker 2: they're supposed to be investigative hearings. Of course they're not.
- 2:11Speaker 2: It's simply for congress people and senators to just spew
- 2:16Speaker 2: their feelings, then ask a question or two and attack
- 2:19Speaker 2: the other side. So here is the argument, is that
- 2:24Speaker 2: the administration is illegally terrorizing immigrants, which they're not supposed
- 2:30Speaker 2: to do, picking up US citizens, grabbing folks out of
- 2:35Speaker 2: car washes, and what make yeah, I believe all of
- 2:38Speaker 2: that is happening. Now, a couple of things I want
- 2:41Speaker 2: to get some reality here. Number One, Christine Olm is
- 2:45Speaker 2: saying we're only going after the worst of the worst.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Give me a break. They are going far more than
- 2:52Speaker 2: just the worst of the worst. They're picking up people
- 2:54Speaker 2: that are completely innocent, not innocent of being illegal immigrants.
- 2:58Speaker 2: They are. But as far as these folks are felons
- 3:02Speaker 2: and they're a danger to the community, yeah, I don't
- 3:06Speaker 2: think so. And one of the basic premises is if
- 3:13Speaker 2: the government can do this to those people, those people
- 3:17Speaker 2: read Spanish, Latinos, people who don't speak English, then they
- 3:22Speaker 2: can do it to all of us. Well, I mean
- 3:25Speaker 2: they could. Are they going to know if you're white
- 3:28Speaker 2: and you speak the way we speak, whether we're literate
- 3:32Speaker 2: or not, and depending on KFI listeners, are on a
- 3:35Speaker 2: whole different level, and not a good one. If you
- 3:40Speaker 2: are white and you go, hey, excuse me, you don't
- 3:45Speaker 2: pick me up, You're fine, that's the reality. If you
- 3:51Speaker 2: work in a car wash and you don't speak a
- 3:53Speaker 2: whole lot of English, not so fine. And that's the reality.
- 3:57Speaker 2: And here's the scare is if the government can do this,
- 4:03Speaker 2: then they can legally go ahead and pick any one
- 4:07Speaker 2: of us up. Because this is the way the courts
- 4:09Speaker 2: are going. The premise of the Trump administration and Homeland
- 4:13Speaker 2: Security says, if we say you are a threat, or
- 4:17Speaker 2: we think you are a threat, or we think you
- 4:19Speaker 2: are illegal, whether or not you're an American citizen, we
- 4:22Speaker 2: don't have to check. We can move forward. We're not
- 4:26Speaker 2: going to give you due process. And the courts will
- 4:28Speaker 2: back that up. If you say it, it must be
- 4:33Speaker 2: so if you build it, they will come. If you
- 4:38Speaker 2: say I'm an illegal alien, then I am an illegal alien.
- 4:42Speaker 2: And that's the part that's the scariest. I just happened
- 4:44Speaker 2: in Portland where the lower court said you can't do this.
- 4:50Speaker 2: You can't send you can't nationalize the Guard and send
- 4:54Speaker 2: the Guard into Portland because you say there's an open
- 4:56Speaker 2: rebellion on the streets, not demonstrations that have gone south,
- 5:03Speaker 2: open rebellion. And the appeals court said, bottom line is
- 5:08Speaker 2: president has the ability to do that. Does the president
- 5:11Speaker 2: have the ability and through Homeland Security to arrest almost anyone?
- 5:17Speaker 2: It looks that way, looks that way. If you're a threat,
- 5:20Speaker 2: you're a threat. So Garcia, Robert Garcia of Long Beach,
- 5:27Speaker 2: the Democrat, of course, a congress person, and he's on
- 5:31Speaker 2: the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, said that his
- 5:36Speaker 2: committee would investigate every single brutal misconduct. Can't wait to
- 5:40Speaker 2: see what the chair of the committee is going to
- 5:41Speaker 2: say on that one. Initial reports of the detention of
- 5:45Speaker 2: at least one hundred and seventy US citizens by immigration authorities,
- 5:49Speaker 2: that was what Pro Public reported. Now the reality is
- 5:52Speaker 2: is American citizens, I think are exempt because what the
- 5:57Speaker 2: Department says is we're not arresting American citizen and is
- 6:00Speaker 2: based on their immigration status or their putative immigration status.
- 6:05Speaker 2: It's because they got in the way of immigration officials.
- 6:07Speaker 2: They got in the way of the cops. And when
- 6:10Speaker 2: you get in the way of the cops, we, uh, well,
- 6:12Speaker 2: we arrest you for getting in the way of the cops.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Now is that true? Yeah? I think so. I think so.
- 6:21Speaker 2: And the allegations agents have been roaming the streets of
- 6:25Speaker 2: la touting guns and chasing down immigrants, Yeah, I think
- 6:28Speaker 2: that's true too. Immigrants being dragged out of their cars.
- 6:32Speaker 2: It's happened in Chicago, other cities, excuse me, but for
- 6:37Speaker 2: the most part Democrat cities. I guarantee you that there
- 6:42Speaker 2: will be no Republican led city that will ever be
- 6:46Speaker 2: an open rebellion. And it doesn't matter how many demonstrations
- 6:50Speaker 2: are out there. There is no such thing as a
- 6:54Speaker 2: republican led city. And you could talk about whether it's
- 6:58Speaker 2: a republican mayor publican council or both. They will never
- 7:03Speaker 2: be an open rebellion. It will always be a democratic
- 7:07Speaker 2: led city. Yeah, you know, welcome to the Trump administration.
- 7:11Speaker 2: I mean, that's the way it goes. And if you're
- 7:12Speaker 2: upset about that, a lot of people are on legal grounds.
- 7:16Speaker 2: I mean, not even notwithstanding the allegation of racism and
- 7:21Speaker 2: notwithstanding the allegation of due process being ignored, it's simply
- 7:29Speaker 2: the issue of the law is being violated. Well, the
- 7:32Speaker 2: courts are being really clear. The law is what the
- 7:36Speaker 2: President says it is, and that's what we're going And
- 7:39Speaker 2: that's the scary part. That is the part that I
- 7:42Speaker 2: have a real tough problem is I can't believe the
- 7:44Speaker 2: courts are going that way. But you know what, the
- 7:46Speaker 2: courts have swung right too. You've got a lot of Trump,
- 7:50Speaker 2: You've got a lot of Trump judges, and he has
- 7:54Speaker 2: changed because and you have well obviously the Supreme Court,
- 7:57Speaker 2: he changed the face of the court completely. It was
- 8:01Speaker 2: five to four democrat or five to four liberal for decades.
- 8:07Speaker 2: If not more in terms of the numbers. And now
- 8:10Speaker 2: it's six' three. Conservative and this court loves presidential. Power
- 8:16Speaker 2: congress loves presidential. Power and that was the demonstration On,
- 8:21Speaker 2: saturday the No kings. Demonstration why Because congress wants to
- 8:26Speaker 2: Make Donald trump a. King it's that. Simple and don't
- 8:29Speaker 2: argue with that, one because that's exactly what's going. On
- 8:33Speaker 2: and you, know if that's where we're, going if we
- 8:35Speaker 2: elect someone to be our king and we change the,
- 8:40Speaker 2: constitution and believe, me there will be motions introduced In
- 8:46Speaker 2: congress for a constitutional amendment Allowing trump or any, well any.
- 8:52Speaker 2: President but the way they describe, it Only. Trump it
- 8:55Speaker 2: can only be a president who has been president and
- 8:57Speaker 2: lost the next, election that is president that can go.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Forward that's the. Motion are we going that? Way who
- 9:04Speaker 2: the hell? Knows? Now you didn't KNOW i Was African,
- 9:08Speaker 2: american did? You, Well i'm not Exactly African. American BUT
- 9:13Speaker 2: i can apply for An African american. Scholarship but aren't
- 9:20Speaker 2: there scholarships just for black? People you bet there. ARE
- 9:24Speaker 2: i talked to a couple of years ago about a
- 9:25Speaker 2: scholarship set up by An italian businessman only For. Italians
- 9:30Speaker 2: there are all kinds of scholarships that are limited in. Scope,
- 9:34Speaker 2: well a scholarship for black students A U See San
- 9:39Speaker 2: diego is now available to anyone regardless of. Race it
- 9:44Speaker 2: was a lawsuit that was filed by a group of white,
- 9:50Speaker 2: students white people arguing that the scholarship fund violated a
- 9:54Speaker 2: whole series of, laws including a law of eighteen seventy,
- 9:58Speaker 2: one the Q Clan act of eighteen seventy one that
- 10:03Speaker 2: was put in place to Protect Black americans in The.
- 10:05Speaker 2: South so The Black Alumni association or Scholarship fund FOR
- 10:11Speaker 2: Uc San diego students is now called The Goins Alumni
- 10:16Speaker 2: Scholarship fund because it's founding Donor Lenin goyin Is, WELL
- 10:22Speaker 2: i had to name it after someone because they can't
- 10:24Speaker 2: call it The Black Alumni association because it's not just
- 10:26Speaker 2: for what black, students it's for. Everybody they can't be. Racist,
- 10:33Speaker 2: yes can you have An African american be a? Racist of,
- 10:36Speaker 2: course you can have anybody be a. Racist and the
- 10:40Speaker 2: point is the court is. Moving, well here's the bottom.
- 10:43Speaker 2: LINE i, mean it's boils right down to a big.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Issue and WHEN i Interviewed Jesse jackson years ago and he,
- 10:55Speaker 2: admitted straight, out admitted that there was affirmative, action and
- 11:00Speaker 2: there were laws and there were policies that Gave African
- 11:05Speaker 2: americans a step. Up they gave him the advantage straight,
- 11:08Speaker 2: out and he defended that, saying we have to have
- 11:13Speaker 2: a level playing field because blacks were so discriminated. Against
- 11:19Speaker 2: and by the, way when you talk about discrimination Of
- 11:21Speaker 2: African americans And italians And Pacific islanders And Native, americans
- 11:28Speaker 2: nothing compares To African american racism in this. Country. Nothing
- 11:32Speaker 2: this is the original. Sin the first black was brought
- 11:34Speaker 2: to this country as a. Slave the first black man
- 11:37Speaker 2: came over as a. Slave that didn't happen with anybody.
- 11:41Speaker 2: Else So Jesse jackson, said we have to have a
- 11:44Speaker 2: level playing. Field therefore we can practice affirmative, action which
- 11:49Speaker 2: a lot of people argue is a form of, racism
- 11:51Speaker 2: and it is when you think about, it giving an
- 11:54Speaker 2: advantage to one race over the. Other and he, says
- 11:56Speaker 2: we need a level playing, field AND i, go when
- 11:58Speaker 2: does the level playing? Field and he, goes basically. Never
- 12:02Speaker 2: based on a four hundred year history of the way THE,
- 12:05Speaker 2: us even the PRE us Treated African, americans, well the
- 12:10Speaker 2: lawsuits have said that's done that's done because a level
- 12:16Speaker 2: playing field is a level playing, field and from my,
- 12:20Speaker 2: understanding level means level that no one has given an.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Advantage so a black scholarship.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Fund.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Nope now private schools can still do. This this is
- 12:33Speaker 2: a public school and we'll see how far that. Goes affirmative,
- 12:39Speaker 2: action as we, know is, done and it's gone From
- 12:43Speaker 2: African americans were basically not even allowed in. School the
- 12:47Speaker 2: philosophy in this country was that they didn't have the,
- 12:51Speaker 2: ability they didn't have the brains that matched white. PEOPLE i,
- 12:55Speaker 2: mean it's astounding to, me but that was the philosophy
- 12:59Speaker 2: of this country for The Civil Rights. Act and so
- 13:04Speaker 2: we've come to the point now where we've had a black,
- 13:06Speaker 2: president we have black CEOs of. CORPORATIONS i, mean are
- 13:12Speaker 2: there people out there who still think blacks are? INFERIOR
- 13:17Speaker 2: i don't think. So maybe there are some crazy people that.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Do Do African americans need affirmative? Action do they need the? Advantages?
- 13:26Speaker 2: Yeah if you look at it, statistically you bet there
- 13:29Speaker 2: are more Poor blacks than there are poor whites if
- 13:32Speaker 2: we're talking about per capita in this. Country but also
- 13:37Speaker 2: there are poor In latinos than there are in this.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Country and then there are whites in this. Country so
- 13:49Speaker 2: here we have this particular scholarship, fund but it's going
- 13:55Speaker 2: to go we're swinging in that. Direction by the, way
- 13:58Speaker 2: the courts have been a couple of interesting. Ones one
- 14:01Speaker 2: of the first cases was here In california Where David.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Baki this is in the early seventies Where David, baki
- 14:11Speaker 2: who was a try to be a medical student that
- 14:13Speaker 2: you See irvine or you See, davis who was a white,
- 14:16Speaker 2: guy was denied entrance because An African american took his
- 14:20Speaker 2: place because it was a quota system and The African
- 14:23Speaker 2: american lesser scores was not as qualified per the university's
- 14:29Speaker 2: rules and, regulations testing, requirements. Etc And baki went to court,
- 14:34Speaker 2: argued reverse. Discrimination you're reversing against white. People in the court,
- 14:38Speaker 2: said you, bet that's absolutely. True you can't do that.
- 14:40Speaker 2: Anymore but race can be a, factor a, factor and
- 14:45Speaker 2: now the courts now the courts say no. Factor race
- 14:49Speaker 2: cannot be considered at. All so if you have a
- 14:53Speaker 2: scholarship for black, students chow. Baby, actually if you haven't
- 14:59Speaker 2: one For, italians that's child. Baby, okay let's get out
- 15:04Speaker 2: of here on that. One fair, enough wealthy families are
- 15:08Speaker 2: writing mission. Statements now what does that? Mean, well this is,
- 15:13Speaker 2: well let me put it to put it this. WAY
- 15:15Speaker 2: ubs AND Jp morgan Private bank assist families with assets
- 15:21Speaker 2: typically exceed fifty million dollars or. More so we have
- 15:26Speaker 2: a huge number of listeners that have fifty million dollars or.
- 15:29Speaker 2: More the rest of you that are under fifty million
- 15:32Speaker 2: dollars you don't have to listen to. This, well maybe
- 15:35Speaker 2: you have less and you're going to leave any amount
- 15:38Speaker 2: of money to family. Members and what the rich people are,
- 15:41Speaker 2: doing AND i think it's going to come down all
- 15:44Speaker 2: the way to people who have not a lot of
- 15:47Speaker 2: money but still leaving some to Family are these mission?
- 15:50Speaker 2: Statements what happens AFTER i? Die kind of? Thing do
- 15:56Speaker 2: they have any legal Import absolutely. Not this is about
- 16:01Speaker 2: the families getting together or whoever is leaving all the
- 16:04Speaker 2: money to family, members usually a patriarch who established a
- 16:09Speaker 2: business and has everybody sit down and talk about where
- 16:13Speaker 2: the family is, going what charities are going to be
- 16:17Speaker 2: continued to be funded and helped out to somehow try
- 16:22Speaker 2: to avert a contentious relationship between siblings and other people
- 16:28Speaker 2: who are claiming to be inheritor's beneficiaries of wealth and
- 16:33Speaker 2: as if that's going to do ANYTHING i. ASK i
- 16:36Speaker 2: get asked, Questions AND i mean Every, saturday someone is
- 16:40Speaker 2: contesting someone's, will Ge, bill what DO i? Do CAN
- 16:44Speaker 2: i do my own will on the? Internet how much
- 16:46Speaker 2: money do you? Have four million? DOLLARS i, go you
- 16:49Speaker 2: out of your, mind you, die you pop. Off there
- 16:52Speaker 2: are going to be, cousins there are going to be
- 16:55Speaker 2: people you've never seen before come out of the woodwork and,
- 16:58Speaker 2: say how about? Me how do you take care of? That,
- 17:00Speaker 2: well you have a, trust or you have a will
- 17:02Speaker 2: that's air, tight so you go to an attorney who
- 17:08Speaker 2: can draft this, up this up because you know there's
- 17:10Speaker 2: going to be a tax. Anyway so not that fifty
- 17:13Speaker 2: million dollars is in my, life BUT i handle my.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Kids there is a, Trust there is a family trust
- 17:19Speaker 2: that the majority of money goes to my. Kids and
- 17:23Speaker 2: do we get together on a regular basis and talk
- 17:25Speaker 2: about the philosophy where the family is? Going, no we do.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Not the only RELATIONSHIP i have with my kids VISA
- 17:34Speaker 2: vi the. Trust the only COMMUNICATION i have IS i
- 17:38Speaker 2: keep a copy of the trust at. Home and every
- 17:41Speaker 2: Time i'm unhappy with one of the. KIDS i bring
- 17:45Speaker 2: out the trust AND i, say you see this. Trust
- 17:48Speaker 2: you KNOW i can change this trust any TIME i,
- 17:51Speaker 2: want and you Know i'm going to do this. Afternoon
- 17:54Speaker 2: leave it all to your. Sister. Oops and THEN i
- 17:58Speaker 2: do the same thing to the other. One so they
- 18:01Speaker 2: have no. Idea But i'll tell you they are very
- 18:05Speaker 2: solicitous and they treat me very very. Well. DAD i love, You,
- 18:11Speaker 2: Dad you're the greatest guy in the. World, okay no
- 18:18Speaker 2: money for? You and AM i leaving money to? Charity
- 18:23Speaker 2: oh that's the other. Thing. Dad you're not a big
- 18:26Speaker 2: fan of, charities are? You are? You is that? Stick
- 18:29Speaker 2: or you really don't like? Charities you, Know i'm not
- 18:34Speaker 2: a big fan of. CHARITIES i, mean you, know kids
- 18:37Speaker 2: don't eat And i'm okay with. That you, know there
- 18:40Speaker 2: are families who live in. Tents, OKAY i understand that
- 18:45Speaker 2: there's some very nice tents out. There there's a will
- 18:50Speaker 2: giving me the. Look, okay so much fearing, It thank.
- 18:57Speaker 2: YOU i worked very hard at. It NOW i want
- 19:01Speaker 2: to talk a little bit about working beyond your retirement,
- 19:05Speaker 2: age WHICH i believe in AND i have. DONE i
- 19:09Speaker 2: should have retired a few years. AGO i, MEAN i
- 19:11Speaker 2: could HAVE i hit sixty. FIVE i just blew right
- 19:15Speaker 2: past that because the thought of not screaming and abusing
- 19:18Speaker 2: you is beyond my. Comprehension let me give you a
- 19:22Speaker 2: stat nineteen sixty Two american men worked on average to
- 19:26Speaker 2: the age of sixty. Six now it's below sixty. Five,
- 19:32Speaker 2: see we think of people everybody working longer than it's not.
- 19:35Speaker 2: True so now it's a year, earlier but the average
- 19:41Speaker 2: life expectancy has increased by nine. Years it was just
- 19:45Speaker 2: a poll done by The Longevity. Project seventy three percent
- 19:50Speaker 2: of adults were concerned by the idea of working ten
- 19:53Speaker 2: years longer in order to support a hundred year old,
- 19:57Speaker 2: lifestyle WHICH i don't understand at. ALL i, mean it's
- 19:59Speaker 2: going to to be one hundred and, research extensive research
- 20:03Speaker 2: has shown the second half of life is as important
- 20:07Speaker 2: a source of social connection purpose good, health and there
- 20:11Speaker 2: is the issue good health and feeling good all translates
- 20:17Speaker 2: into living a lot. Longer one study of about eighty
- 20:20Speaker 2: three thousand older adults over the course of fifteen years
- 20:24Speaker 2: found that people who work past their traditional retirement age
- 20:29Speaker 2: of sixty five three times more likely to report being
- 20:32Speaker 2: in good. Health all of that is. Fantastic you keep on,
- 20:35Speaker 2: working you feel, good and that's absolutely. True then there
- 20:40Speaker 2: are the blue collar workers that work with their, hands
- 20:45Speaker 2: that work demands physical. Activity that's. ME i sit on my,
- 20:53Speaker 2: ASS i get, up go have a, bagel refresh my,
- 20:58Speaker 2: coffee and and it is a lot of physical. Labor just,
- 21:02Speaker 2: this just the. WALKING i wake up in the morning
- 21:05Speaker 2: AND i go to the. STUDIO i have a thirty foot.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Commute this is a good. Thing but the reality is
- 21:16Speaker 2: that people are not looking at blue collar workers where
- 21:19Speaker 2: the exact opposite is. True my dad was an electrician
- 21:23Speaker 2: and he pulled wire for his most of his adult
- 21:28Speaker 2: life and it was tiring. WORK i, mean he worked
- 21:31Speaker 2: like an. Ass he worked his ass off and he
- 21:34Speaker 2: could not wait to. Retire and there was none of.
- 21:37Speaker 2: This let's go into another. Profession you're a, plumber for.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Example he make very good. Money but at sixty, five you're. Ready,
- 21:44Speaker 2: MAN i don't want to work another ten or fifteen years.
- 21:48Speaker 2: Now some people have to because they have not done
