- 0:00AI should come first because AI will have the answer for all of our problems.
- 0:05And if we are not feeding AI with the water, then AI will have half-baked life, even though it can look great on the surface, when you're hollow inside and there's this emptiness because ultimately it comes back to this feeling of I'm not enough.
- 0:21What do you feel like is the most beautiful possibility we could step into right now?
- 0:26From outside, this idea that if I'm loved by someone else, then I'll feel better about myself.
- 0:31And actually, there is this wellspring of...
- 0:36What would you say to someone who is navigating that fear of vulnerability, that fear of exposure right now?
- 0:41I know this from my own experience.
- 0:43You know, when I did the work on my own vulnerability, it's like an abyss.
- 0:47I see people who refuse to cry in front of anyone.
- 0:51And what will you do?
- 0:52What does the soul mean to you?
- 0:54The answer is...
- 1:05There are books and then there are books.
- 1:08And this book dropped me so deeply into my heart, into my inner child, into my shadows, into my ancestry.
- 1:16And I felt there was such a generosity and a gorgeousness to the metaphors and the way that you intentionally made the ideas so resonant.
- 1:26And so I'm so excited and honored to welcome Estelle Bingham to the Soul Salon podcast, the author of Manifest Your True Essence, a holistic healer, therapist, coach, and someone who is here to really drop us into our hearts.
- 1:41Okay.
- 1:42I'm so proud and honored to welcome you, Estelle, to the Soul Salon.
- 1:46Thank you so much.
- 1:46Wow.
- 1:47Thank you so much.
- 1:49For having me and for that really beautiful introduction.
- 1:53I'm really honored to be here.
- 1:54You are so welcome.
- 1:55I feel so honored to be in your energy and presence.
- 1:58And the first question that I would be honored to ask you is, what does the soul mean to you?
- 2:04The soul, you know, we've thought about this, haven't we, for millennia, really.
- 2:09And more recently, I feel like we sort of lose touch with what that means in the day to day.
- 2:15For me, the soul is something that lives on.
- 2:18So it's a part of us that goes beyond the lifetime, that lives beyond the lifetime and really encompasses us.
- 2:27our true essence.
- 2:28It's like who we are before all of the stories, before the lifetime told us who we should be or who we couldn't be.
- 2:36And it's that really original state of being.
- 2:39It's that original divine spark part of us.
- 2:43Hmm.
- 2:43Ooh.
- 2:46Hmm.
- 2:47Melted into your words there.
- 2:49Oh, that eternal, that original part of us, the part beyond stories.
- 2:54And you really take us there so powerfully in this book.
- 2:57I'm so curious with what you've just shared.
- 2:59Many people hold different beliefs around what our sole purpose is on this earth.
- 3:05Why have we come to this earth?
- 3:06And I'm just so curious how you make sense of that.
- 3:09Yeah, I mean, when you say that today, I feel particularly it's so potent because every day is changing.
- 3:18You know, we are souls on the planet that have really chosen to be here in this lifetime, in this incarnation.
- 3:24And, you know, a lot of the audience would have heard that before.
- 3:28But what does it really mean when temperatures rise and oceans are poisoned and animals die and, you know, trees get cut down and we are up against wars and separation and division and the politics of...
- 3:46a humanity in collapse with that backdrop of AI, you know, and all of these things.
- 3:53What does a soul, where does a soul really feature?
- 3:56For me, it's, you know, we can't lose sight of what it means.
- 4:02We can't lose sight of what it is because it helps us
- 4:07remember who, you know, what it means to be human.
- 4:10And as souls, we've chosen this lifetime.
- 4:14Part of our life lesson here is to remember what it means to be human in such a big way, more than any other souls have ever been born on the planet.
- 4:22We are up against that.
- 4:24So our souls are warriors.
- 4:26You know, in essence, we are here for, you know, we're here for it.
- 4:30And so this time, really, what do we do?
- 4:33What is our sole purpose?
- 4:34You know, the first and foremostly, with a world in collapse, you know, what happens when we're collapsing on so many levels?
- 4:42We are, we have to awaken, we have to awaken now out of our slump, out of our sleep, out
- 4:48the eternal sleep and, you know, become everything that we were meant to in this moment.
- 4:55So because when we do that, we become a channel for divine energy.
- 4:59So and that's what we're remembering is we're just allowing ourselves to be channels for divine energy.
- 5:05And in this time, because it's about frequency.
- 5:08when we are just allowing the light, we're getting out of the way of ourselves, which is why we have to do that inner work to just believe and trust that we're enough, that we, that, you know, that source, that spirit, that God has chosen us, you know, that we are enough to...
- 5:25channel that energy because now is the time.
- 5:29So purpose, I think, for a collective, our collective is that, is to wake up to the frequency of the light within.
- 5:39And we can get there when we go through the heart and we step into our hearts, we can really access the oceans of infinite light and love, divine energy that exists in the universe right here, right now.
- 5:53So that is as a collective.
- 5:54And then personally, our purpose can change.
- 5:57You know, sometimes people say to me, I've had a child and I can't do the things that I was doing.
- 6:04I haven't got time to meditate or do yoga or wellness practices, you know, but prayer is in the way that we love.
- 6:13And so, you know, your purpose in that moment is not, you don't have to have a necessarily think about I'm missing out on my big career or this or that opportunity.
- 6:23It's actually to stay present with what you have this, you know, whether it's a child or whatever that project is or that, that I was talking about child.
- 6:34It's that gift, really, that blessing.
- 6:37Yeah.
- 6:38is to just stay present to that.
- 6:40And that can be the purpose for the day.
- 6:43So the purpose can change.
- 6:45So it's like a sort of daily purpose, what is actually in our lives right now.
- 6:49It may be something that you're looking to manifest more on a bigger scale, you know, in terms of personally.
- 6:56But then collectively, as a collective, we're really being asked to wake up to our purpose as a collective.
- 7:04Yeah.
- 7:04Hmm.
- 7:05Oh, wow.
- 7:07There was so much there, so much richness.
- 7:09I almost feel like, you know, when you're at a bakery and there's so many pastries and you're like, ooh, which one will I have?
- 7:15There's so much.
- 7:16Thank you so much for taking us to the collective level first around our soul specifically having such a big sort of
- 7:24mission that has been placed on our hearts to remember who we are in a time of collapse.
- 7:29I also adore that there's a lot of spiritual teachers who don't address sort of the times that we're in and the structures and the systems of collapse that are surrounding us and what we're being asked to do in the face of that.
- 7:40So I really admire the courage that it takes to name these things and to be
- 7:47heart-led leaders of the world that we could become.
- 7:50So thank you for that.
- 7:51And then this personal purpose and the evolution that you're allowing and inviting, I've also felt that sense of fixedness in purpose.
- 7:58So thank you for allowing us to release that pressure and say, we do get to evolve.
- 8:02We do get to stay present with that feeling of purpose.
- 8:07In what you've just walked us through with the soul, with remembrance, with awakening, what do you feel is maybe the greatest collective limiting belief holding us back from truly accessing the soul?
- 8:19Always.
- 8:20You know, I do a meditation once a month.
- 8:22I do a full moon meditation.
- 8:23I started many years ago.
- 8:24I used to do it in person and now I do it online.
- 8:27And often, you know, the first layer, you know, the invitation is to just sort of clear the first layer.
- 8:33And really what we're working through in the first instance is just the basic belief that we're not enough.
- 8:40And I hear that inside out, upside down.
- 8:43You know, I have a private practice.
- 8:44I run retreats.
- 8:45I do, you know, I run workshops and all sorts of different facilitate all that type of healing on a broader level.
- 8:52And that is always we come back to that.
- 8:54So humanity comes back to that.
- 8:56You know, it doesn't matter who you are.
- 8:58It doesn't matter what...
- 9:00background you have, you know, what country you come from, what religion, what creed, what colour.
- 9:06It's like there is, and obviously that's nuanced too, right, because all histories are very specific histories and to honour that.
- 9:15But ultimately there's this feeling of I'm not enough.
- 9:19I'm not lovable.
- 9:20I'm not enough.
- 9:20And from that very basic place, so much can, you know, goes awry.
- 9:25So much goes left field because the choices that we make when we come, when we have a deep belief system, you know, and it's often so, you know, it's, it's, it can be really hidden in the shadow in different ways.
- 9:38So consciously you're like, I'm doing really well.
- 9:40You know, I'll see people who run businesses, great businesses, you know, that are Fortune 500 that, you know, from, you know,
- 9:49um have been entrepreneurial have been you know really powerful in their business lives but when it comes to relationship or actually just being able to receive love when it comes to being seen truly you know in in true vulnerability it's a it's like an abyss
- 10:07And so ultimately, the lifetime is about the balance.
- 10:10You know, we are here to do everything.
- 10:13And it's whatever your soul is choosing, you know, for you to do.
- 10:17Like, what are the lessons we need from this kind of earth, the university of life?
- 10:23What do we need to learn?
- 10:25Yeah.
- 10:27And so this half-baked life, even though it can look great on the surface, when you're hollow inside and there's this emptiness because ultimately it comes back to this feeling of I'm not enough.
- 10:40is the one that is the big haunting of our psyches.
- 10:45The big haunting of our psyches.
- 10:47That is such a powerful way.
- 10:49It's exactly what that is.
- 10:51And that is so at the root of everything.
- 10:54Thank you for the way you named that with not feeling good enough.
- 10:57And sometimes we can dream, like dream of, for example, for me, this podcast, the last interview I did, all the voice in my head was saying is, you're not interviewing good enough.
- 11:06You're not listening well enough.
- 11:08And so it's like this important remembrance that this inner work is so critical.
- 11:13And so when you see this belief of shame in so many of your clients, how do you help them drop into their heart, drop into love?
- 11:22Well, you know, we think that love is something outside of ourselves.
- 11:27And we are, we've been, you know, that's an illusion, this idea that if I'm loved by someone else, or if I go and do really well, and, you know, I'm confirmed and affirmed from outside, then I'll feel better about myself.
- 11:43And actually, there is this wellspring of love inside of us.
- 11:48And that is literally what it is.
- 11:50So often in my first sessions, what happens is when people have done a lot of talking therapy and they come to a session and we drop into the heart, then they get to feel themselves in a different way because they get a glimpse of this, you know, this energy that's inside them, that they are part of something so much more, which is source energy, which is this vibration of light.
- 12:15And ultimately love, because love is held as an emotion in the heart.
- 12:19But it's not a sort of a human heart, if that makes sense.
- 12:25It's a mystic heart.
- 12:26It's our spiritual heart.
- 12:27So I really work to bring people into their hearts through really short meditation.
- 12:34And that's really where we start.
- 12:36We start from that place because when we start from the heart and you heal from here, from this place, the work is backed up by the universe.
- 12:47So it's backed up by all of that energy that is spiritual, that interdimensional energy, the oceans and oceans of energy that are looking to support you right now, today.
- 13:00There is nothing between you and that energy but yourself.
- 13:04And so often, you know, we can think about spiritual teachers, we can think about
- 13:13elders in our community who do hold wisdom and they do hold really important wisdom and they teach and that's very, very important.
- 13:21And we can also see how through the millennia, religion has been twisted to separate people just from the basic understanding that they are enough and that God is here.
- 13:36Hmm.
- 13:37And that's really something to think about because that's really what I teach.
- 13:43So the heart is, you know, and you talked about with the book, is that the book is I am companioning you to companion yourself, to then companion others who will then companion others.
- 13:54Because ultimately we're here for a very short amount of time.
- 13:59And as in the words of Ram Dass, he says, you know, we're here, we're just walking each other home.
- 14:04That's what it's about.
- 14:05So I bring people into their hearts because it opens, it's a superpower and it opens something in them that they didn't really know was there.
- 14:14So you kind of like step into something and then we do the work from that place.
- 14:19So then we do the inner child work.
- 14:21We do the shadow work.
- 14:22We do the ancestral work and the shame and the forgiveness.
- 14:27And we are concurrently deepening this understanding that God is here.
- 14:34Hmm.
- 14:36So it walks alongside you.
- 14:39And really, ultimately, there's nothing that can corrupt that because it just is.
- 14:47So, you know, that is what happens.
- 14:49You know, you open the space for God and God says, here I am.
- 14:55It's the old, you know, metaphor or the old adage we've heard of, I take one step towards God and source energy, spirit, and spirit takes 10 towards you.
- 15:08Because we are in a dimension of free will.
- 15:13And this isn't an angelic dimension.
- 15:15It's a dimension of free will.
- 15:17So we step outside every day and we as human beings get the opportunity to make something, do something good or do something not so good.
- 15:25Right.
- 15:26We make that decision.
- 15:27And that's a gift.
- 15:30So, you know, when we decide to create space or do something good or, you know, honour, you know, ourselves, but also honour the divine in us and, you know, the creator of all things, then we give energy to that.
- 15:49In an angelic dimension, there is no free will because the angels are, you know, they are really, they work as intermediaries between us and God.
- 16:01And they go where they're asked to go.
- 16:05But we get to ask angels to come and stand by our side.
- 16:08We get to ask angels to come stand by our side.
- 16:12What you said about a dimension of free will versus living in an angelic dimension.
- 16:17I've never thought about it like that.
- 16:19That's so wonderful to hear you say this.
- 16:22And then what you said earlier that so many things you're saying, I just wish I could be taking notes, but I will be.
- 16:28But you said that religions have existed to separate us from the idea that we're enough.
- 16:33That's such a paradigm shift because it's so paradoxical.
- 16:36And creating that distance and that separation and that set of conditions under which you are worthy enough is just so powerful.
- 16:43And I think a lot of people will really resonate with that.
- 16:46And then what you shared about connecting people to a power that they did not even know they had.
- 16:50I think that is just so powerful.
- 16:52And inner light, you write about an inner sun.
- 16:56We'd love to know what these heart, I mean, in this book, please do purchase it because there's so many divine meditations that are heartlet and drop you directly into the heart.
- 17:07But I'm so curious when you're saying like you're helping people drop into their hearts, what does that look like?
- 17:12Yeah, so we can do that right now.
- 17:14Okay, I would love that.
- 17:16Okay, so let's do that.
- 17:17Perfect.
- 17:18So feet on the ground.
- 17:20Feet on the ground.
- 17:21Yeah, okay.
- 17:22And we're just bringing the awareness.
- 17:24So wherever you are, you can do this with us.
- 17:27Bringing the awareness to the breath.
- 17:29So first and foremost, to the breath.
- 17:31And I'm just going to invite you actually just to watch me for a few moments because this is so important how we breathe.
- 17:35Of course.
- 17:36So breathing in through the nose, take a nice deep breath.
- 17:41And then out through the mouth.
- 17:43Okay, so can you see how you're blowing that exhalation?
- 17:47Okay, so we are going to sigh the exhalation.
- 17:50So if you bring a hand to the heart, you can take one just into the stomach area.
- 17:54So breathing that energy in.
- 17:57And then...
- 18:00There we go.
- 18:01So that sigh, that's a really deep sigh.
- 18:04So we're starting to connect with the emotional body.
- 18:08So really showing up for the nervous system with that deep sigh, each time deeper and slower.
- 18:14So breathing in and letting it go.
- 18:21And we're going to do this a few times.
- 18:23We're doing it a few times together.
- 18:25Breathing in, you can close your eyes now.
- 18:27That deep breath in.
- 18:29And we've got the hand on the stomach just to get that deep exhale.
- 18:33Lovely.
- 18:38And a few more.
- 18:38And you're finding your own rhythm.
- 18:42This is like a wave of breath.
- 18:45So you can imagine that wave of energy.
- 18:48You're standing at the edge of your own oceans.
- 18:58And really taking your time with yourself.
- 19:00We have time.
- 19:01Remember, time is an illusion.
- 19:06So making these breaths really count, this inhale and this exhale, as the nervous system is really informed in this moment to move into.
- 19:21a rest and digest state of calm, which then lowers all the inflammation in the body, brings us into more of a meditative state, just with the breath.
- 19:37On the next inhalation, exhalation, bringing both hands now to the heart, as we bring full awareness to the heart.
- 19:46And we're inhaling and exhaling into the heart, breathing that deep inhale, that breath of life that separates us from death in this moment.
- 19:56Very powerful.
- 20:00Bringing that into the heart space.
- 20:05And dropping the shoulders and all the energy in the body.
- 20:09Really giving permission for the physical body to rest.
- 20:14as we bring our awareness into the heart.
- 20:21We can work with divine light energy on the next inhale, exhale.
- 20:25You can just imagine that that's pouring through the crown.
- 20:28It doesn't matter where you are, we're just bringing that in from the space above the space up into the sky, bringing that through like you're sitting underneath a waterfall of light.
- 20:46filling the spaces in between the spaces, to the eyes, the nose, the ears, taking this opportunity to really fill the system with light.
- 20:57It's enough to just imagine it.
- 21:00Liquid light right here, right now.
- 21:09into the jaw, into the neck, like liquid, into the throat, the throat chakra, noticing here if there's any spoken or unspoken words.
- 21:22And then into the shoulders, filling the biceps, the elbows, the forearms, the hands.
- 21:36And really just turning like a tap of energy into the heart, into the chalice of the heart, into this cup of the heart.
- 21:46Filling this cup with light in the heart.
- 21:51In this moment, more light than you could possibly ever imagine.
- 21:54Giving yourself permission to draw in that light from this oceans and oceans of infinite light that exist right here, right now in the universe.
- 22:09All the times you haven't felt like you're enough.
- 22:14Times you've been shamed for who you are.
- 22:18Times you haven't been seen.
- 22:20For where you feel fear.
- 22:26Bringing that light in right here, right now.
- 22:28More light than you could possibly imagine.
- 22:30So it's spinning to the rest of the system.
- 22:34To the upper intestine, the lower intestine.
- 22:38to the spleen and the bladder, to the kidneys and the liver, to the root chakra and to the womb area and to the sexual organs, into the thighs, the knees, the calves and into the feet.
- 22:55Grounding through the feet into the earth, wherever you are.
- 23:05And then taking the awareness back to the heart.
- 23:09We're just asking the heart what it's holding in this moment, what it needs.
- 23:16Listening to the heart, giving permission.
- 23:19Take a nice deep inhale, exhale, and then you're gently opening the eyes.
- 23:51Cool.
- 23:55Hmm.
- 24:00That was magnificent.
- 24:04Hmm.
- 24:06Wow.
- 24:11Thank you so much.
- 24:12Oh.
- 24:13Hmm.
- 24:14You're so welcome.
- 24:18You really feel this opening...
- 24:21And that feeling of not feeling good enough.
- 24:24And then I love what you said about more light than you ever thought you could hold.
- 24:28It's so stunning.
- 24:30And just like this, entering this different realm.
- 24:34Like I'm here, but I'm not here.
- 24:39And then in this moment, we become attuned.
- 24:41You know, this is what heart coherence is too.
- 24:44So heart coherence is the balance, is opening the heart.
- 24:48And then the heart becomes coherent.
- 24:51And then the messages it sends to the mind.
- 24:53So then the mind can make more heart, mind, the decisions and choices we make more led by the heart.
- 25:01And that's the science.
- 25:03So a few moments every day is all you need to bring yourself into a heart coherent state, just for the heart coherence.
- 25:11And then for the heart healing, you know, and, you know, moving more into the sort of process, then you kind of can step into the heart and do all of these other things.
- 25:21But just for that heart coherence, just for the nervous system to really calm all of the anxiety, all of the fears, just bringing yourself into this place really brings a different vibration into your life.
- 25:36Hmm.
- 25:37Wow.
- 25:39We have so many artists and people who are in touch with their creativity, listening and watching this, experiencing this conversation.
- 25:47And I feel like if we get to create art from this place where we're more grounded, more attuned to each other, to ourselves, can you take us into this conversation?
- 25:58heart, wisdom, and how it first came to you.
- 26:02You know, you were saying these things far before they were popular to say.
- 26:06And so really understanding the shoulders that we stand on.
- 26:10I'm so curious, your journey into this, into this divine wisdom and the way you channel it.
- 26:15It's so beautiful.
- 26:16Yeah.
- 26:17Well, yeah, wow.
- 26:20I suppose my story began with my growing up in London with my mother as a single parent family.
- 26:32And I learned to meditate when I was very young.
- 26:34So I learned to meditate when I was seven, eight years old.
- 26:37I learned Transcendental Meditation.
- 26:40But at the same time, I also had this real, I kind of was on a real path to, you know, to seek and to find more, discover more about all sorts of things.
- 26:50And so I went to church, spent a lot of time in church.
- 26:53I was also meditating and I wrote poetry, often to make sense of the world.
- 27:00But really, I feel like...
- 27:04You know, when the heart has an interesting way of showing up in our lives, you know, often we can be empaths.
- 27:11A lot of people are empathic and that means that they've sort of come into the lifetime naturally with an open heart.
- 27:20And then life can be quite difficult to navigate.
- 27:23But also, depending on your experience.
- 27:27what the kind of background was like growing up, we also can become very hypervigilant.
- 27:31So if there is sort of trauma in our worlds, then we become aware and actually quite empathic because we're picking up on energies.
- 27:39And that's sort of like also a felt sense thing.
- 27:43So I think there was a kind of culmination of all of these pieces of the sort of seeking.
- 27:50So my life that had sort of meditation on one side, but then also trauma woven into that and sort of intergenerational trauma.
- 28:01And how my spirit responded to that.
- 28:06And so there were many, there was a long time I didn't want to do any of this work, but I could always feel my hands.
- 28:14So when my mother was really young, I could, you know, I would sort of work on it.
- 28:19She had a headache and I could sort of move the energy.
- 28:22I could feel the energy of the headache and I could move the energy out of her head.
- 28:28system.
- 28:29So I had an understanding of some of these things.
- 28:33I spent a lot of time in nature and the kind of the layers, I suppose, what's behind the veil, you know, and not living in a 3D universe, but living in a multidimensional universe.
- 28:50So I was always kind of in that.
- 28:52And that is what is heart.
- 28:54You know, heart is...
- 28:56when nature is heart so when we spend time in nature we're open to nature we listen to the trees we we walk the ground we listen to the bird songs we you know we we are engaging with this divine matrix and so that is all heart led and that teaches you that's where you know heart brings you into its own wisdom it can it brings you its wisdom um
- 29:24So when I started working with people, for me, this divine feminine energy, which also was part of my spiritual journey, was finding the mother beyond the mother.
- 29:36And I speak about that, you know, where the good ancestor, because, you know, if you've had a tricky time on either side and where the good ancestors are, but you can go into your lines and you can find those ancestors.
- 29:49But also beyond that is the sort of,
- 29:53The beginning of all things, you know, and the divine feminine is the face, is a face of the, of the, of the divine.
- 29:59So the divine feminine, divine masculine, you know, those two, that polarity is just one of the same.
- 30:04But the divine feminine energy is an energy that moves through the heart, you know, and also as we understand Mother Earth.
- 30:12So that really just...
- 30:16spoke to me you know it speaks you know that I'm guided by that energy I just trust that energy I just listen and I feel really blessed for that you know the listening because sometimes I think about how people who know me people who work with me know how much I go with the flow because I just do go with the flow because I do trust energy
- 30:42And I trust my people, you know, and I trust the way of the heart.
- 30:47I trust this path.
- 30:49I trust this journey and I'm deeply grateful for it.
- 30:52So it's unfolded and is unfolding.
- 30:57Yeah.
- 31:01Well, we thank you for listening to the Divine Feminine within you because it's allowed us to listen to our own through you as a channel for this wisdom.
- 31:09And the way that you bring it to life is so potent and you can feel the medicine moving through you.
- 31:16And I love that you had this early exposure to spirit, to magic.
- 31:20And I'm curious as well, you mentioned that even on this journey, you didn't want to do this work.
- 31:25So can you share more about the resistance you had if you feel called to share?
- 31:28Yeah, absolutely.
- 31:29I mean, I think that we are, you know, it's so complex.
- 31:37And I think when you go into a spiritual life, I think it's also complex.
- 31:41We are bombarded by what magic, what is, you know, the idea of magic, even talking about magic, that is bad.
- 31:49And that is in our conditioning.
- 31:51So it's in our conditioning wherever you are, right?
- 31:55And because there is magic that isn't great.
- 31:58Mm-hmm.
- 31:59And that's a reality.
- 32:01So, you know, when we think about when we drop into these realms, you know, you have to be really aware of what you're working with and really working with spirit, you know, to be working with God.
- 32:15Right.
- 32:16So because.
- 32:18I knew when I was sort of 18, 19, 20, I was like, there's no way I want to be at a dinner party talking about I'm psychic or I can feel this or see that.
- 32:27It's the last thing I want to do, you know, because it's, you know, that we have these connotations about what that is.
- 32:36And some of it's fair, right?
- 32:38So it's a complex place.
- 32:42It's like when we talk about religion, you know, it's controversial, it's complex because religion is amazing.
- 32:47It's like, you know, it's culturally amazing and it holds societies together and it's a beautiful thing.
- 32:54And then it can also get used in that separation, you know, literally just separating us.
- 33:00from our divinity.
- 33:03And it's the same with magic.
- 33:04And I think this is the same.
- 33:07When we think about how people, how we use our energy and when we start to awaken, where your heart is really like, you have to be in a state of humility.
- 33:22You know, humility is ultimately the thing that will keep you
- 33:28being of service because otherwise we can get really like we can get get taken off and away and so this is where I want to stay I want to be of service I'm going to stay in this flow you know I just pray for that I pray for that every day and really that's the thing that keeps you grounded um
- 33:48So when I was younger, I also, I was thinking, I just don't want to have to explain myself, defend myself, talk about this.
- 33:56So I wanted to do something completely different and I became a TV presenter.
- 34:00Oh, wow.
- 34:02Because I was, I just thought, I just, this is not for me.
- 34:06And then you recognise that, you know, it's all, life is short.
- 34:12And our gifts, what are our gifts?
- 34:15What are the things that...
- 34:18on that kind of, you know, before you came into the lifetime and you chose the lifetime, you were like, made it, had a discussion and said, okay, I'm going to go down and do a bit of this.
- 34:26I'll do a bit of that.
- 34:26And, you know, okay, but I want to do some of that.
- 34:29But really, this is my, my soul wants to feel this.
- 34:33And I really feel that this is something I'm choosing, that this moves through me.
- 34:38And so then you get out of the way of yourself.
- 34:42And that's what I ended up doing.
- 34:44Yeah.
- 34:45Yeah, so we can all deeply resonate with that feeling of being in a role that we know is in our full soul's purpose.
- 34:51So for anyone listening to this who maybe is in that place where they are the TV presenter version of their life, they are feeling called to do something else, but it feels sticky, resistant.
- 35:02What would you say to them in this moment?
- 35:05Well, this is the moment.
- 35:06You know, I'd say take this as your sign.
- 35:10You know, you're listening to this podcast.
- 35:11You're listening to this conversation.
- 35:13Let this be the moment because the moment is just now.
- 35:17It's whatever you want it to be.
- 35:19And we can choose right here, right now for it to be this moment is enough.
- 35:24And really also life needs you now.
- 35:28You know, we are being called upon to rise.
- 35:33And without that, we are, you know, on shaky ground.
- 35:38Humanity is kind of really up against it.
- 35:40So whatever that looks like, getting out of the way of yourself and being that light because you bring that light in whatever way you bring that light,
- 35:51is so important for the rest of us.
- 35:54I need to feel you.
- 35:56I want to feel you, right?
- 35:58We get to feel each other.
- 36:00If you imagine switching on, you know, all of these different, these like flames around the world and we can feel so alone.
- 36:08And often that sticky thing that you're talking about of what will it look like or people are going to, you know, they're going to shame me or I don't feel like I belong anyway.
- 36:19So it's going to make me feel even more, you know, different.
- 36:23But actually you're really supported.
- 36:26Because when the life is done and we go back to source, the life is done and our souls move through out of the body, we look back and it's that thing of, oh, wow.
- 36:40That's what it was all about.
- 36:43Right?
- 36:43That's what it was all about.
- 36:45Even to treat it as a game, as a holy game, because it's holy.
- 36:52But really to not get into the...
- 36:56The minutiae of it's so painful to be white knuckling.
- 37:03It's so painful to hold on.
- 37:05And the letting go, you know, just trying that, seeing what happens, staying curious, staying, listening to the heart.
- 37:14And that's the thing about how do you know?
- 37:16It's listen to what your heart is saying.
- 37:20Hmm.
- 37:21Hmm.
- 37:22Life needs you now.
- 37:24Oh, listen to what your heart is saying.
- 37:28We have all this wisdom within us.
- 37:30It's so powerful.
- 37:31I adore the language you use about what was the oceans of light?
- 37:36Infinite light.
- 37:37Infinite light.
- 37:38Oceans of infinite light.
- 37:39That really stuck with me reading your book and listening to you say that now.
- 37:43Oh, it's just so...
- 37:46I love what you said that we're all being called to rise and what you said about the light.
- 37:49And I just had this instant image of all these torches and how we do need all of them as lit up as they feel called to be.
- 37:57And just as you wrote this book and it deeply spoke to and so many people, you know, spoke to myself and so many others that...
- 38:04the world would have less light if you weren't stepping into yours.
- 38:07And so we all need each other's light.
- 38:09It's such a wonderful perspective and something that I really resonate with.
- 38:13And what you said about Ram Dass and we all walk each other home.
- 38:16It's a quote that I also love.
- 38:17So I'm feeling the resonance and the adoration there.
- 38:22When you said that we're all so supported, that's something so beautiful to tap into.
- 38:26And you have this wonderful concept in your book called The Family in the Light.
- 38:31Could you tell us about what support looks like and feels like to you?
- 38:35For sure.
- 38:36I'm going to ask you this.
- 38:37What does it look like for you?
- 38:38Ooh.
- 38:41What does it look like to feel supported?
- 38:44Or what does it look like in the light?
- 38:46In the light, in the light.
- 38:48I feel like it looks like divine inspiration, you know, as an artist, and even stepping into that identity, that feeling that something always wants to be channeled through me.
- 38:58It could be a song, could be a moment.
- 39:01It could be a question.
- 39:02It could be a moment of grace.
- 39:05So it looks like the feeling that
- 39:07there's like this infinite well wellspring you use that beautiful word that's always seeking to give me love and give me ideas and give me this juicy little exciting energy that my inner child loves like oh and then it also looks like feeling into the love of my family you know I'm very fortunate to say that I experienced a lot of love from both of my parents and um
- 39:32that I know that the love they gave me is also ancestral.
- 39:35Somehow there was love in our lineage that I can like feel as a superpower that we have.
- 39:41And that really feels like my family in the light as well.
- 39:45And then trying to connect more with people who've come before me and sort of heal some of the blocks of the loss, you know, with the cultural loss, language loss that I'm trying to reclaim.
- 39:56To say that they still love me, even if I don't speak, you know, their languages, even if I'm trying to find my way home to them, doesn't disqualify me from their love.
- 40:05You know, their love is beyond language.
- 40:07It's infinite.
- 40:08And actually, a guest on this show, I can't remember who, taught me that.
- 40:11Oh, Snoh, Snohgushle Maposa.
- 40:13Yeah, she taught me that, that, you know, their love is beyond you being able to do anything.
- 40:19They just love you.
- 40:21So I think that is what it feels like to me.
- 40:24And then also just visions.
- 40:26I love, I get visions all the time.
- 40:27So that feeling of just a new vision, a visual plane of dimension, a reality that I feel I've always felt connected to.
- 40:36Yeah, so thank you for that question.
- 40:38That's very beautiful.
- 40:40But as an artist, and really the third part of the book, which is about the return, and what happens when we move through these layers or levels of the heart.
- 40:50So first of all, we feel into the physical heart, which is the breath, and the power of the breath that separates us from death.
- 40:57So, you know, that's why breath work is so powerful, you know, all of those systems.
- 41:01But then we get to the emotional heart, which is how the heart holds our stories and our grief and our sadness, our heart breaks.
- 41:09Mm-hmm.
- 41:10And that's what we get to alchemize and shift and change.
- 41:13And then we drop into that mystic spiritual heart.
- 41:15And then we're a channel.
- 41:17So that feeling, so the downloads, and so many artists speak about that.
- 41:23That comes through, it's a soul energy.
- 41:28You know, they're downloaded and then they transfer to the mind, but they really come through.
- 41:35This is how we access those planes.
- 41:38And it's sort of the ether and things exist in the ether.
- 41:42And whoever's open to the channel will get the download.
- 41:46And sometimes it can be a few people at once, but a few people can be channeling the same thing.
- 41:50And that's happened to me with books.
- 41:52Really?
- 41:52Yeah.
- 41:52Yeah.
- 41:54A hundred percent.
- 41:55There was a book that I just saw recently that's come out and I was thinking about that book two years ago.
- 42:00So now I'm thinking I'm definitely going to write the book that I need to write because you have to be available for it.
- 42:05Like the universe nudges, right?
- 42:07It says, will you do this?
- 42:09And then if you get in the way and you do that thing of like, I'm going to procrastinate, I need to wait till I need to start tomorrow.
- 42:14I'm, you know, they've just said that this podcast is the sign, but actually I'm going to have a cup of tea and do something else.
- 42:22Let this be the moment that you take that first step.
- 42:26Procrastination is a fear piece.
- 42:29It comes back to that piece around I'm not enough and I'm afraid of failure.
- 42:38I'm afraid of success.
- 42:39It's the two things, the things that we fear of just being seen.
- 42:44So the support for me is that family in the light that I talk about.
- 42:50And the family in the light are the ancestors you've just spoken about so beautifully.
- 42:54And that idea of we're enough always.
- 42:59You know, the shame that we hold about ourselves is our shame.
- 43:05You know, when you're in spirit, that stuff doesn't exist.
- 43:09The idea of personality, it doesn't exist in that way.
- 43:14It's just it's love.
- 43:16And the ultimate support for you to evolve.
- 43:20Because when you evolve, the whole line evolves with you.
- 43:24Right.
- 43:24So it's a healing that happens.
- 43:26And that's when we think about pattern breakers.
- 43:29You are the pattern breaker.
- 43:30But and you've come in to do certain things or, you know, go back and heal certain parts and pieces or live in a certain way that they weren't able to or, you know, feel things that they weren't able to feel.
- 43:44So the ancestors are massive.
- 43:55People that you haven't known too.
- 43:58But we all have an angel as well.
- 44:02There's always an angelic that is sort of assigned to us really at birth.
- 44:10that is just there for our, for us to, you know, we get to, it's like having a telephone line, you know, to the angelic realms, because often people feel that they can't call on the big archangels or they can't call on because, you know, why would Archangel Michael want to come and visit me?
- 44:27And I have to explain that, that it's, it's multifractal, you know, like it doesn't, you know, it's, it's,
- 44:36Archangel Michael isn't just coming to you.
- 44:39There's a million, because that's how the energy works.
- 44:42It doesn't work for one person at one time.
- 44:44It's like multi-dimensional.
- 44:47So it's very fractal in the sense that an angelic can be in many places at once.
- 44:54Wow, I've never thought about it that way.
- 44:56Ah, okay, fractal.
- 44:59Can you explain to anyone who doesn't, who's not familiar with that structure, what that means?
- 45:04Yeah, so if you just imagine, the way that we perceive time and space is limited to our human condition.
- 45:14And it doesn't exist.
- 45:18So when we leave this sort of, you know, three-dimensional, then we understand that things can exist in multi-dimensions at the same time.
- 45:28And angelic energy, divine energy, is beyond really our comprehension.
- 45:32It's beyond our comprehension.
- 45:34So the idea that this, you know, the intermediaries, if you think about angelics as intermediaries, that they can only do one thing at a time, okay, is if you even think about it, it's quite ridiculous.
- 45:50Oh, I'm just going to go and visit now.
- 45:52You know, John in Southampton because he's asked, you know, it doesn't work like that.
- 45:57So it works.
- 45:58You can just imagine like a web of energy.
- 46:04And that is also what they're there for.
- 46:07They're there to assist and support us in the things that we need.
- 46:14Whatever our prayers, they are there for us.
- 46:16That is 100% part of the story if you believe in angels.
- 46:22How do we know that we are blocking the love that an angel wants to give to us or that there's someone who's reaching for us that we're not being open to?
- 46:33Yeah, so you can imagine the ancestors are the same, right?
- 46:37So the ancestors are looking to support us and love us.
- 46:47And if you feel in any way, if there's any part of the psyche that says, I'm not enough or I'm not really ready, I don't speak the language, who am I to ask?
- 47:03Why would they show up for me?
- 47:05this doesn't really work.
- 47:06I don't know.
- 47:07Like what one of the things to do is just press pause on the not on the voices.
- 47:12Wow.
- 47:13You know, because those voices come, they are a construct of the lifetime.
- 47:16They're not part of your soul energy.
- 47:18They're a construct of the lifetime.
- 47:20So all of those voices that separate us come through our, the way that we've been brought up our education, society, culture, all of those things.
- 47:30So just press pause and stay curious.
- 47:36Press pause and state.
- 47:37Oh my word.
- 47:37Construct of the lifetime versus soul energy.
- 47:40That is so powerful.
- 47:42So when we're caught in a story, we can think, okay, this is a construct of this lifetime.
- 47:46But there's a more broad, wider, more spacious, eternal soul available.
- 47:52Absolutely.
- 47:53Hmm.
- 47:54Oh, and you write about higher self soul energy.
- 47:57This is one of those questions, maybe that's coming from the mind.
- 48:00But how do we know that we're in touch with that?
- 48:02And if we feel this disconnected from it, how can we reconnect?
- 48:05Yeah, it's so interesting, because I was talking to a client about this, about this difference, and how free she's feeling.
- 48:13The peace that comes when you listen, when this inner voice, you start to listen to this inner voice, it kicks in,
- 48:22And starts showing up more and more.
- 48:24And there's a difference because there is a difference.
- 48:27So we can hear voice, like we can hear something say, oh, he's really not, you know, oh, he's my soulmate.
- 48:34He's my soulmate.
- 48:34He's my soulmate.
- 48:35And I'm so in love with him and I won't be in love with anyone ever again.
- 48:38You know, that person is the person.
- 48:40And it's coming from actually your wounded ego.
- 48:43It's coming from your emotional heart, but it's not coming from the higher self.
- 48:47The higher self energy that it's like a, it's a voice inside that in the stillness, it just, it's so knowing and really clear.
- 48:58And it is that little nudge, like often, you know, when I talk about relationships, I'm like, what about the red flag?
- 49:05And they'll say, yes, there was one.
- 49:06I just didn't listen to it.
- 49:07hmm there was something i just chose not to listen to it and so it's there we've just got to notice and start noticing where these parts are coming from right there's that there's that inner voice and it's it becomes stronger and stronger it is your true essence
- 49:28And it's connected to all of the people around you and to soul.
- 49:31So you get really guided.
- 49:33So flow is good.
- 49:34So you're in the flow of the universe.
- 49:37The universe can really show up for you.
- 49:38It really does have your back versus the kind of other ones.
- 49:44And when we know ourselves, know thyself, the reason why it's so important, it's above the, in Delphi, in Greece, it's an ancient Greek saying, know thyself.
- 49:58It's so important because then you can master everything that's happening inside the mind and let the heart speak.
- 50:08right let the soul speak so all of the jumbly you know there might be a trigger your your four-year-old self saying oh i'm really frightened of getting on the plane what if i get to london and there's no one there it's it doesn't work or what if this happens or that happened you know and we get to see we get to know those we get to know ourselves and we get to recognize that part the little the inner child who is is maybe afraid of doing something because when she did it when she was four it was it didn't work out
- 50:35And then we get to hear that voice beyond the chatter that says, we're getting on the plane.
- 50:43Yes.
- 50:45We're getting on the plane.
- 50:49So much that you're sharing, oh my word, something that's coming through to me is the embodied.
- 50:56I love how your work is so much about embodying this wisdom and feeling this wisdom.
- 51:00So if you do have that four-year-old and you have her voice speaking to you,
- 51:05How do you shift from like knowing intellectually, for example, let me give you an example.
- 51:10So I've always struggled or danced with envy and comparison or like feeling this competitive energy that I don't I'm not proud of.
- 51:17Like I do believe or I want to believe there's room for all of us and we live in an infinite room of light.
- 51:23And it's not you or me, but of course, it must be in my lineage.
- 51:26And then also being a black person in white spaces, scarcity and all these things.
- 51:30So, um, I'm curious then I know it intellectually, but I don't, I'm not like living the truth that I am enough or living the truth that there's room for all of us to thrive and to blossom.
- 51:41And then that voice of fear gets triggered, that voice of scarcity gets triggered.
- 51:45So how do you help people shift from, oh, like, I know that to like, I, I feel that in my bones.
- 51:51So it's, it takes a bit of time to,
- 51:55Right.
- 51:55It takes time.
- 51:56It's it's there isn't a quick fix to that.
- 51:59It takes compassion and growing that compassion, growing that, you know, companioning self, which is why we do we work with the heart because the heart is that infinite soul.
- 52:09So you are working, doing your healing work or returning to self and meeting these parts.
- 52:16Right.
- 52:18I'm re-meeting these parts and meeting them again with love and kindness and compassion.
- 52:25And so that's how they, there's an alchemizing that happens.
- 52:29There is a, that's what the shift is.
- 52:31That's what that, you know, that's why I wrote that book.
- 52:34Because I wanted to step people through a process rather than doing it with me.
- 52:39You can do it in the, you know, it's accessible, it's not expensive.
- 52:43And it's all in there.
- 52:48and really feel parts of themselves and meet parts of themselves and heal parts of themselves for this deep transformation.
- 52:54And the transformation does happen.
- 52:56You know, it works.
- 52:59People go from feeling...
- 53:02All sorts of feelings.
- 53:04And that envy is a big one.
- 53:06The idea of scarcity and envy, you know, we can turn envy into a real positive.
- 53:12Actually, it's a very powerful energy, but very powerful to notice, to recognize and to out like you've done to bring that into the light because it's in your shadow.
- 53:24So the people that you envy, so will hold something that you have inside you.
- 53:32And it's about giving yourself permission to just stay in that, to stay in the healing, really, to stay or the trust that the alchemy happens.
- 53:44It just it just shifts.
- 53:46It's day by day.
- 53:47You just let go.
- 53:48It's like we surrender.
- 53:49It's like white knuckling of I'm so jealous of that person.
- 53:52How are they there?
- 53:53And I'm not there.
- 53:53There's not going to be any room.
- 53:54Or what if it runs out?
- 53:55Or da-da-da-da.
- 53:56And actually, what happens is this other dialogue, this other communication begins every day.
- 54:01And it's just more interesting.
- 54:04It's just more interesting.
- 54:05It's just more interesting.
- 54:10and this is just a bit boring.
- 54:14And that's what happens.
- 54:15You become more interested in yourself, more in love with yourself, more loving of self.
- 54:21You know, I'm here to shine the light.
- 54:23I'm going to do me.
- 54:25Right?
- 54:25I'm just, and that's, you know, we can get bombarded online by so many things and people are doing this and they're doing that.
- 54:31And,
- 54:31You know, it's challenging, right?
- 54:33Because our egos are in this constant state of emerging and growing and shifting and changing.
- 54:41You know, we're growing forever, right?
- 54:44So it's never like a perfect, it's not a fix, you know.
- 54:48But there is a place of peace that we come to inside when we really do trust ourselves enough.
- 54:55and we trust that what is here for us is really here for us because we are showing up to it we are showing up to the download we are showing up to the vision and we're trusting that that vision is god-given is you know is has been given to to us for you to channel and only you can channel it in the way that you're going to channel it
- 55:14We all felt that.
- 55:15Yes.
- 55:17Oh, it's like you said earlier with the mystic heart and how important it is to receive the download and actually not procrastinate and have the courage to know you're supported and do it.
- 55:27Oh, it's so wonderful.
- 55:28And what you said about the other voice, that's really going to stick with me.
- 55:31It's just more interesting.
- 55:34Just stay there.
- 55:34Stay curious to these other possibilities.
- 55:37And then to that mother beyond mothers that you mentioned of like that possibility of this divine feminine energy who always believes you're more than enough and wonderful.
- 55:46The divine feminine energy, she's she's in the house.
- 55:49You just need to you just need to bring her in.
- 55:51Whatever face of the Divine Feminine you are connected to from all of the faces of the Divine Feminine that have moved through all systems, you know, and all nations.
- 56:03And, you know, she exists everywhere.
- 56:05You'll find her, the goddess energy and in the earth.
- 56:09And she is here for you.
- 56:15She's here for it.
- 56:15Like that, that.
- 56:17that energy, the minute you just show up to her daily, she comes in.
- 56:23And that's a beautiful, the mother of all mothers to hold this work, you know, when you're moving into compassion, it is really a big ally.
- 56:33Like, you know, that's when I'm doing my work with my clients, you know, we bring her in and she's in the book.
- 56:39And because it's, she's a fundamental part of being here now.
- 56:46Hmm.
- 56:48That presence.
- 56:49But also for what this time is about.
- 56:51Hmm.
- 56:52Being present to what's being asked of us.
- 56:54What's being asked of us.
- 56:55And also that the, you know, we know that we're in a toxic masculine world.
- 57:01We know that this is, you know, we've happened upon, you know, this is the...
- 57:06Like, it's a white patriarchal manifestation.
- 57:10And the, you know, the tech bros that are in charge of AI and, you know, turning us into a massive data center.
- 57:18And, you know, obviously with Elon Musk going into space, with SpaceX, and he's now a trillionaire.
- 57:28Like, what's that all about?
- 57:31Right?
- 57:32But this is, it's like a hologram.
- 57:37and we've created this thing with ai that finally is doing the thing that we it's so in our shadow that we as humans believe about ourselves we're not enough that we're not clever enough that we're not this enough we're not conscious enough we're not productive we're not productive enough we've actually managed like to create something that will finally say
- 57:59No, you're not.
- 58:01Right?
- 58:02And that is also not only doing that, but it's also then, it's atrophying our brains as we know that the data's in and it's doing that.
- 58:14So...
- 58:15As artists, you know, art is the expression of art and how it moves through us.
- 58:21Music, poetry, writing, you know, design, whatever, you know, all of it, food, wherever that your creativity moves through you, it's like you are...
- 58:34setting a light, what it means to be human, just in the small things, we create some food with love.
- 58:39You know, we've all eaten food that's been made with love.
- 58:43That is like that humanity, like that connection.
- 58:46We feel that love.
- 58:47It changes ourselves from the frequency of what's in it.
- 58:50And so with this...
- 58:53Real sort of psyops, because it's a hologram that's been created of us not being enough.
- 58:59And by 2030, AI is more intelligent than the most, a billion times more intelligent than the most intelligent person on the planet.
- 59:06Our hearts are our superpower.
- 59:08Yes, yes.
- 59:10This is where we have to go, right?
- 59:13Mm-hmm.
- 59:15Because not only will this keep us grounded in the face of all of this stuff, but it will also bring us into a new way of being with ourselves too, you know, in the world, with each other.
- 59:26It is through the heart that that will happen.
- 59:28So humanity, that's why I say humanity's next revolution is a revolution of the heart.
- 59:34because this is, you know, the brain, the mind is done.
- 59:40Absolutely.
- 59:41I think we all felt just the truth and the power of that in this moment where you took us with the toxic white patriarchal colonial imagination and what that is resulting in all around us and then this other possibility of listening to a voice of love, of compassion, of softness, of slowness.
- 59:59Just yesterday, I had that voice.
- 1:00:02toxic productivity paradigm voice in my head.
- 1:00:05I'm like, I'm not doing enough.
- 1:00:07And I'm like, I am not being consistent enough with the podcast and I'll never grow unless I post every single Monday at 7am.
- 1:00:14And then my best friend actually helped me drop into like, you're an artist, you know, everything you receive as part of your artistry and just being gentle with yourself.
- 1:00:24And that divine feminine can come through so many different
- 1:00:27voices around us if we are lucky enough to to be surrounded by them so that's so wonderful and then what you said about this heart revolution and something i love is a word that i i guess created called heartists and like i feel like this heart-led artistry that there is this creative possibility of creating heaven on earth for each other you know when i'm reading your book i'm in heaven
- 1:00:49Like what you said about the web and the network of the quantum field, that it's all here at once.
- 1:00:55It's like I'm in a moment of perfection.
- 1:00:58I'm in a moment of generosity, of grace, of love, of like beautiful imagery and quotes and stories from all your clients.
- 1:01:06And it's like you created heaven for me and we get to do that for each other when we listen to that mystic heart.
- 1:01:13Wow.
- 1:01:14I'd love to stay where you just took us around yourself.
- 1:01:18the moment we're in now and AI and what you're witnessing around you and this heart revolution that you just mentioned, what do you feel like is the most beautiful possibility we could step into right now?
- 1:01:35Good question.
- 1:01:39The most beautiful possibility would be that what we are faced with,
- 1:01:49the weather, the wars, these huge data centres that are going to just drink all the water, that are taking all of the water from us and the animals and the plants, you know, that...
- 1:02:07Elon Musk said that water, or actually Jeff Bezos said, that water cannot be, you know, it's not something as a commodity that where humans get the right to have it, that it's actually AI should come first, because AI will have the answer for all of our problems.
- 1:02:25And if we are not feeding AI with the water, then AI will not come up with this answer.
- 1:02:32The answer is, with the billions, is to plant more trees and clean the oceans and take care of people.
- 1:02:42Take care of people and the earth.
- 1:02:44Right.
- 1:02:44I mean, that's the answer.
- 1:02:45This isn't rocket science.
- 1:02:47Okay.
- 1:02:48And so we're up against this real sort of powerful darkness.
- 1:02:56You know, when we think about like what is darkness?
- 1:03:01Okay, this is what it looks like.
- 1:03:04And that's what I mean about the idea of frequency and that this is a frequency war.
- 1:03:10Because also what you'll find at this time is that it may be difficult to meditate.
- 1:03:15It may be difficult to feel yourself.
- 1:03:17It may be difficult to find peace.
- 1:03:19A lot of people can find it that it's become harder over the past few months this year because of everything that we're dealing with on so many different levels.
- 1:03:33poisons in food, in words, in gestures, in intention.
- 1:03:40And so what that does is it really forces us to wake up.
- 1:03:48you know, we have to, right?
- 1:03:50If we're battling AI centres and we can't drink water and the climate change is and it's so hot we can't go, like there has to be, there has to be waking up.
- 1:04:01And so the best possible thing
- 1:04:04And I do believe that because I believe in the power of humanity.
- 1:04:10I believe in the power of good and the power of love.
- 1:04:14And love is the greatest, really the greatest power on the planet.
- 1:04:20And so the heart for people to just stay, you know, whoever, whatever the background, whatever the religion is,
- 1:04:31to open to the idea of heart and to stay curious, to be curious in this every day, that would be the most beautiful thing that could happen.
- 1:04:40Because if that happens, we will feel each other more and we will have the power to change what is happening right now.
- 1:04:55Because we've come together.
- 1:04:58And ultimately, community, the idea that, you know, the idea that we are one, it gets bandied around because we are and we aren't, right?
- 1:05:11But in terms of survival of all of these ecologies and all of these different ways of being on the planet, we have to be together.
- 1:05:25So it is the Ubuntu, isn't it?
- 1:05:29And it is the you, me, we.
- 1:05:31You know, we go back to these traditional teachings, the wisdom of the planet, you know, of our ancestors, the people that were here and were here successfully.
- 1:05:47And this last 400 years, this industrial, you know, and this sort of a kind of, it's become an industrial complex of colonialism and productivity and economies, economy and, you know, the way that that is developed.
- 1:06:13The way that that sits right now, it absolutely doesn't work.
- 1:06:19And it is in a state of collapse.
- 1:06:22So even though they try and tell us that it's not in a state of collapse, everything is collapsing.
- 1:06:26But with us, our power is in our community.
- 1:06:32It is in the you, me, we.
- 1:06:34Mm-hmm.
- 1:06:35It's in just, you know, when I remember there was a story about when the, there was an Irish potato famine and in 18, I don't know the date, but in the Victorian times there was this Irish potato famine and the Native American people sent food to the Irish at that time and,
- 1:07:01And they've been through, you know, obviously genocide and, and, and, and.
- 1:07:04But, you know, our, these people of the earth who understand the earth, understand what it means, you, me, me.
- 1:07:13And ultimately, that's our guiding principle too, is this, when we come into the heart, is that there isn't a separation.
- 1:07:22So we're able to, you know, really work coherently
- 1:07:29from a place of love.
- 1:07:30The power of that, the beauty of that, and the return to these wisdoms that we do have.
- 1:07:36These are indigenous forms of wisdom that still exist, that colonizers have tried to remove.
- 1:07:42Also, different feminine ways of knowing or different ways of knowing that are channeled through the divine feminine in each of us that we are taught to suppress, no matter our
- 1:07:52And that we are taught to ignore and erase and what you shared about Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk and what I just grieve and fills me with a sense of rage is that just that we all feel like such another kind of life is possible, such another kind of world is possible.
- 1:08:10And what you said about a frequency war, that's such an interesting way to put it, because that possibility still exists for each of us to co-create and claim.
- 1:08:19And also the Ubuntu of it.
- 1:08:21And I think there's so much wisdom in these different cultures that we can, that the whole world can learn from, you know, for example, in so many different African traditions and cultures.
- 1:08:31And linguistically, you call each other, my brother, my sister, mother, father, we are one in that sense.
- 1:08:36There's that understanding that all of our futures are linked, that it is, you know, this understanding of togetherness of family.
- 1:08:43And it's the wisdom, I think.
- 1:08:49is seeking to be, as so many of us are trying to do, honoured and reclaimed.
- 1:08:54And so I think that's such an important point to return us there, that these Native American stories, these stories of Indigenous peoples from across the world.
- 1:09:02And I think there's the, I think it could be, I don't know if it's the Maori people, but I think it's this concept of the seven generations that actually exists in many Indigenous cultures around thinking about seven generations ahead of you and seeing yourself as a future ancestor.
- 1:09:19So those are just some thoughts channeling through me as you spoke.
- 1:09:23This is such a gift to hear your vision for what is possible and for the role we each play in that possibility.
- 1:09:32For the clients that you work with,
- 1:09:38You mentioned the importance of community.
- 1:09:40How do we come together in community at a time exactly like you said, where it feels like we're being most separated from peace, separated from that possibility?
- 1:09:51Community is really our future.
- 1:09:54And finding a community...
- 1:09:58So important.
- 1:09:59Starting a community, right?
- 1:10:02Be the one.
- 1:10:03Be the one.
- 1:10:04That starts a community.
- 1:10:05We don't have to wait for something to happen.
- 1:10:08You know, be the one.
- 1:10:10And because what you'll find is, is that there's, you will find your people and your people will find your people.
- 1:10:18because they're there.
- 1:10:19You know, everyone, what I notice when I see my clients is this idea of loneliness and isolation, you know, it is an epidemic.
- 1:10:27We have an epidemic of that.
- 1:10:30And we're not taught how to be in relationship.
- 1:10:34So when I teach the mystery school, the mystery school is that three year of teaching.
- 1:10:40It's a practitioner training course, actually.
- 1:10:42But it's about how do we be in relationship?
- 1:10:47in this community with all of our pieces and all of like how do we bridge how do we have difficult conversations you know how do we bridge conflict what does conflict feel like what does it look like
- 1:11:02What does compassion look like?
- 1:11:04What does love look like?
- 1:11:04Are triggers?
- 1:11:05How do we hold all of this together to really deepen authentic community, you know, to not be spiritually bypassing, which happens, which, you know, that's something that can also happen.
- 1:11:17But communities really are the way forward.
- 1:11:21And at this time, we are better together.
- 1:11:24We are better together.
- 1:11:25I just had an image as you were speaking about the importance of community and holding conflict of people listening to this, watching this in your next maybe tricky conversation.
- 1:11:35You're feeling a bit dysregulated, just saying, you know what, can we take some heart led breaths together and just dropping in and then continuing to connect?
- 1:11:43I mean, imagine the world we would live in.
- 1:11:45Oh, wow.
- 1:11:47Wow.
- 1:11:48I love that.
- 1:11:49I think that's a wonderful takeaway because it really brings you into a softening.
- 1:11:56You know, when we come into the heart, we begin to soften.
- 1:11:59And that's why that middle part of the book is called the softening because you soften the edges.
- 1:12:05You know, so many of us are exiles from our hearts and we are so terrified to be vulnerable.
- 1:12:12We're so terrified to be seen really
- 1:12:18So when we start to soften, then we recognize that our power is in our vulnerability.
- 1:12:24Being able to say that really upset me because I feel like you don't love me when you say something like that, when you use that tone.
- 1:12:34And it really triggers my eight-year-old self who...
- 1:12:38didn't feel like she was lovable because she was bullied at school.
- 1:12:43When we can start to have those conversations, you know, where we're naming the parts of ourselves and we are coming from a frequency of love, then that bridge, we bridge with grace.
- 1:12:56Mm, that chapter in grace.
- 1:12:58Mm.
- 1:13:00when you did that, it made me feel like you didn't love me.
- 1:13:03That is, I mean, that hit me in a different way.
- 1:13:05That is such a raw truth in such a way that I hadn't heard it expressed.
- 1:13:09That's so wonderful to hear you say this.
- 1:13:13Wow.
- 1:13:13Yeah, when we can stay connected to...
- 1:13:15Also, you write about seeing the inner child of your parents.
- 1:13:18And I think when we're doing this work, when we notice it within ourselves, we can see that there's always a little goal in you.
- 1:13:25There's always in our parents, in each of us, there's a child just who doesn't feel lovable and who is using the coping mechanisms available to them.
- 1:13:33So that's so wonderful.
- 1:13:34Yeah.
- 1:13:36Wow, I'm just imagining what a world we'd live in if we all could learn conflict like that.
- 1:13:41Heart led, staying connected, being vulnerable.
- 1:13:45We do have a lot of listeners who struggle with the fear of being seen.
- 1:13:49It's a topic that I speak about a lot and that you write about so beautifully, this fear of being exposed or being vulnerable.
- 1:13:55What would you say to someone who is navigating that fear of vulnerability, that fear of exposure right now?
- 1:14:00Well, vulnerability is the big one, right?
- 1:14:04So, you know, I see people who refuse to cry in front of anyone and their tears are a weakness and this is a weakness and that's a failing.
- 1:14:14And what will you do with this knowledge of me?
- 1:14:18That's the big question, right?
- 1:14:20What will you do with this?
- 1:14:22Will you weaponize this?
- 1:14:24Mm-hmm.
- 1:14:26Who will you tell?
- 1:14:27You know, so this shame, the shame wound, the idea of this idea of what will happen when you're asked or invited to be vulnerable.
- 1:14:38And often, and I know this from my own experience, you know, when I did the work on my own vulnerability in my 20s, it's like an abyss.
- 1:14:48It's like you're standing on the edge of an abyss and at the top of a mountain and you're looking down and someone's asking you to just literally jump off the top of that cliff.
- 1:15:00And you can't see the bottom and there's nothing to catch you.
- 1:15:03And you're like, hell no, I'm not going to be doing that.
- 1:15:08that's not gonna be that's not gonna be that is not that has not got my name on it but it's actually you know the vulnerability is the power and that's the thing about when we also meet this divine feminine energy which he's quite rightly said is in both male and female it's in all of us we all have a divine masculine we all have divine feminine energies those are the energies of the
- 1:15:33But when we allow ourselves to be in this divine feminine energy of receiving vulnerability, softening, it's fierce.
- 1:15:44You know, if I can say to you, I really don't like the way that you did that.
- 1:15:52Because it made me feel sad.
- 1:15:53And...
- 1:16:00Could you think about doing that in a different way?
- 1:16:02It makes me feel sad.
- 1:16:03I feel unloved.
- 1:16:07you've really shamed, that feels really shaming.
- 1:16:10Even though you may not have meant it like that, but I feel really shamed by that.
- 1:16:14When we can put those things into words, that is how we can keep ourselves safe.
- 1:16:21That is how we hold ourselves safe in relationship.
- 1:16:24If I can speak my boundaries to you and they're vulnerable, right, because you get to see who I am.
- 1:16:31So I'm exposing myself to you.
- 1:16:34But that means that I'm adulting and holding myself safe, which means I can love you more.
- 1:16:43Right?
- 1:16:43If I let you see me and you meet me, then I can love you more and you can love me more.
- 1:16:51And that's how it works.
- 1:16:52If we stay stuck in this little dark cave, in this little place where everything's safe, we're holding it all together and it's already safe.
- 1:17:01We're not letting anyone too close.
- 1:17:03We're not going out into the world and being seen too much because we're fearful of what people are going to say or think or do and weaponize.
- 1:17:11And, you know, because we can't, everyone's not going to like us.
- 1:17:14Okay.
- 1:17:14That just is what it is.
- 1:17:15Right.
- 1:17:16Right.
- 1:17:17We just have to know ourselves.
- 1:17:19You know, I'm sure there's a whole heap of people out there who'll be like, I didn't like what you said about Jeff Bezos.
- 1:17:25It's okay.
- 1:17:27Right?
- 1:17:27So, but it works on that in the world level and it works on that personal level.
- 1:17:33But the personal level is really how we nourish ourselves.
- 1:17:37You know, how you nourish yourself around your family, around your friends, around your partners, around.
- 1:17:44That's really how we get our cups are really filled with that in a deep place that we can go out into the world.
- 1:17:50Like you said, I feel really I felt really loved by my parents.
- 1:17:54I can feel their love.
- 1:17:56And that fills our cup.
- 1:17:57Right.
- 1:17:58So but when you can also feel really loved by a partner because you let that partner see into you and meet you and you can lean in.
- 1:18:08And you can weep if you need to weep and say, I just don't feel like I'm doing this right.
- 1:18:15Or is this going to work?
- 1:18:16Or I had such a bad day today.
- 1:18:18I feel really, I don't feel like I'm enough.
- 1:18:23And that person can see you in that vulnerable place.
- 1:18:28And meet you there as well.
- 1:18:30And you allow that.
- 1:18:31It's a superpower.
- 1:18:35It's a superpower.
- 1:18:36It is a superpower.
- 1:18:39The heart is a superpower, but your vulnerability, which is in this place, is part of that superpower, without a shadow of a doubt.
- 1:18:46Hmm.
- 1:18:47But also we create from a place of fragility and vulnerability.
- 1:18:51We create from a place of emotionality.
- 1:18:54You know, often that's, you know, the best art comes from when we are being most vulnerable because we're being most authentic.
- 1:19:03Our authentic selves, you know, but we're holding all of that.
- 1:19:06And that's the thing about when we go into the shadow and we really go to take a shining light in the dark corners of who we are.
- 1:19:13There's nothing about ourselves that frightens us.
- 1:19:15We don't, we're not frightened of our own shadow.
- 1:19:18There's nothing I'm afraid of.
- 1:19:21You know, meet me because I've met myself.
- 1:19:25Meet me because I've met myself.
- 1:19:27It reminds me of the beautiful safe harbour image that you start the book off with that really touched me.
- 1:19:32Do you want to share that with us?
- 1:19:33Yeah.
- 1:19:34The idea of building this safe harbour.
- 1:19:38And this is what you build, you know, so that you could hold yourself safe.
- 1:19:43Yeah.
- 1:19:43That's your anchor, your anchor, you anchor through the heart and not through the mind, because remember, we know the mind is a construct of the lifetime.
- 1:19:52So all of those stories, all of those voices through the heart, which brings you into your true essence, into your soul energy.
- 1:19:58Mm hmm.
- 1:19:59We anchor there and that holds us in a safe place.
- 1:20:04We can, you know, that all the storms can come because storms do come.
- 1:20:09You know, life delivers what life delivers.
- 1:20:11But we meet life in a different way.
- 1:20:14Hmm.
- 1:20:15We meet life in a different way.
- 1:20:17Oh, I feel like we all are ready to meet life with courage and vulnerability and, and the beauty of intimacy.
- 1:20:25I think in those moments where I have you, it's like this, almost like a fork in the road moment where I'm like, I can see the version of me who just pretends this didn't hurt me or I don't feel triggered or whatever.
- 1:20:35And then the version of me is courage.
- 1:20:37And it's almost like a three, two, one moment.
- 1:20:38And I'm like, yeah.
- 1:20:40And they are the most beautiful moments in a relationship is those moments of vulnerability and stepping into that heart space.
- 1:20:47I just want to check where we are for time so I can make sure.
- 1:20:52Okay.
- 1:20:54Ooh, this is just so juicy and rich.
- 1:20:57It's like we're at a feast of your wisdom and of all that you have to share and offer and the possibilities that can unlock through the heart.
- 1:21:06And I do want to make sure that we tap into, if someone's feeling resistant to going deeper into their heart, sort of what's in it for them.
- 1:21:15What can be manifested when we really do this work?
- 1:21:19And so I'd love to go there with you.
- 1:21:21Yeah, I mean, we talk about knowing, right?
- 1:21:25And we talk about frequency.
- 1:21:27And Albert Einstein talks about, you know, everything is made of energy.
- 1:21:33Match the frequency of the thing that you want and it will come to you.
- 1:21:39It's as simple as that.
- 1:21:40And we know that, you know, people talk about manifestation, like attracts like, the law of attraction, all of those things.
- 1:21:47So the knowing...
- 1:21:49And this is why when you're looking to manifest something, the knowing comes from this anchoring into your true essence.
- 1:21:58Because remember that inner, that higher self, that guidance from that voice, that's the knowing and that's alignment.
- 1:22:05So what happens is, if you imagine the unconscious and the conscious, so the unconscious is 5%.
- 1:22:10No, the conscious is 5%, the unconscious is 95%.
- 1:22:15So the conscious mind is telling you, I want to manifest this, I want a new this, a new job, a new partner.
- 1:22:25I want a baby, I want a project, I want all of these things that the conscious mind, but the unconscious mind is saying you don't deserve it.
- 1:22:34And the unconscious mind, 95%, really loud, right?
- 1:22:40So even if you imagine the room that you're sitting in and you think about the 5% of the room is like a tiny little corner over there, the 95% is the rest of this space that we're occupying right now.
- 1:22:52This is the space and this is the loudest energy in the room, right?
- 1:22:57This is the biggest energy in the room.
- 1:22:59Which is why we go into the unconscious and we process, we unpick those patterns and we change those stories.
- 1:23:06We process those stories so that the conscious and the unconscious are matching in frequency.
- 1:23:14So you've gone to the four-year-old and you've worked with that story where she was told that she wasn't enough or the eight-year-old who's bullied at school or, you know, the father that was violent or the, you know, the alcoholism or the story or any, whatever's happening in the lines and it's cleared.
- 1:23:33And then everything is in alignment and it's frequency.
- 1:23:38So what I'll say about the heart is the heart gets you there quickly.
- 1:23:44remember that the heart has an energy that that you can feel three feet outside of the body it's like a hundred times more powerful than the the electromagnetic frequency that is emitted by the brain so when you walk into the room into a room it's your heart energy that people are feeling that's your aura
- 1:24:08Okay.
- 1:24:09And so this, why we get into the heart is because we're looking to get into alignment.
- 1:24:15We're looking to match our frequency.
- 1:24:17We're looking to do the work from this place because it works and it works quickly.
- 1:24:22It is exponential.
- 1:24:24I can vouch for that.
- 1:24:25Exponential.
- 1:24:26Yeah.
- 1:24:27Exponential.
- 1:24:27Ooh.
- 1:24:28Yeah.
- 1:24:29And because of the power.
- 1:24:33Right?
- 1:24:33Because it brings you into yourself quickly.
- 1:24:37It brings you into your body quickly.
- 1:24:39Remember that we can't think ourselves into healing and we can't think ourselves into the rest of our lives.
- 1:24:46We have to feel ourselves into the rest of our lives.
- 1:24:50And this is how we feel more is through the heart.
- 1:24:53We embody through the heart.
- 1:24:54We embody our healing through the heart.
- 1:24:57All the things that we've learned in talking therapy, we may know intellectually, but we are not feeling in the body.
- 1:25:04And the heart brings that online.
- 1:25:06So you're in alignment.
- 1:25:08So then when you start to manifest from this place of alignment, 5%, 95%, and of course you're healing all the time, but when it becomes more 50-50, hmm,
- 1:25:20more 40, 60 even, right?
- 1:25:23It's louder.
- 1:25:25It's more powerful.
- 1:25:26And I know from my own story of becoming a TV presenter and how I really went into big alignment with that.
- 1:25:35You know, it was at a time when no one really looked like me.
- 1:25:38There was hardly anyone of colour at the BBC.
- 1:25:40You had to have gone to Oxford University, all of these things.
- 1:25:44But I was just literally just...
- 1:25:48I just set my mind into a place of alignment because I understand that from the years of meditating that I've done and what the quantum field is and what energy is.
- 1:25:58Energy is, it has to match.
- 1:26:03So I really focused on this vision of working in the BBC and then working on TV in a very specific way.
- 1:26:15And I occupied that, I embodied that for five, ten minutes a day.
- 1:26:23Not thinking it, embodying it.
- 1:26:27feeling it, which is why so many people, you know, when they talk about manifestation now, they talk about really taste your future, smell your future.
- 1:26:40When you're in that vision of the future, so when I give people little exercises to do, it's not just thinking or I'm thinking of that.
- 1:26:48I'm actually feeling that.
- 1:26:51So feeling this podcast right now, like what does it feel like?
- 1:26:54What does the chair feel like?
- 1:26:56you're hot you're cold you're a little bit you know what is it like to sit opposite me what are the other thoughts that are coming but actually just to feel the the gratefulness of being here too right oh this is nice and when we when we spend five ten minutes in a sort of heart visualization manifestation it's really powerful you're bringing that
- 1:27:26Wow.
- 1:27:28Wow.
- 1:27:28So how would you walk someone through that so they connect through their heart with the whole senses of the vision?
- 1:27:33Yeah.
- 1:27:34So do that breathing exercise.
- 1:27:37That creates heart coherence immediately, just drops you into heart.
- 1:27:40All you need to do is think of your heart and the light and it comes.
- 1:27:44But just to bring the breath into the heart consciously, it becomes conscious breath.
- 1:27:49And then from that place, you can close the eyes and spend a few moments visualizing in with the heart online that vision for the future, what it feels like to be sitting next to the partner that you really want to bring in, like feel that.
- 1:28:05the body next to your body you're sitting on the sofa it's like you've been together for a while it feels so good you've you know you've opened your heart you've met finally met that person wow and that exhalation in the body of like oh this is so nice
- 1:28:24Really allowing those feelings in, those visceral feelings, is how we align.
- 1:28:32It's how like attracts like and we bring, we can work with the energies.
- 1:28:36Wow.
- 1:28:37And so as we do that, we're also, because it's a feeling, is that how we're going also into the unconscious?
- 1:28:42Yeah.
- 1:28:43Okay.
- 1:28:43Yeah.
- 1:28:44So when we step into the shadow, the shadow, many people talk about the shadow.
- 1:28:49It's been around for many years.
- 1:28:51But it's also indigenous.
- 1:28:53That's an indigenous understanding of the psyche.
- 1:28:57You know, the shadow is we always have to know ourselves.
- 1:29:00Right.
- 1:29:01And but but.
- 1:29:04But basically, we... What did you ask me?
- 1:29:07I was going to talk about the shadow.
- 1:29:09Oh, I was asking, no, perfect, about feelings and the unconscious.
- 1:29:12Yeah, the shadow.
- 1:29:13So the shadow, the unconscious...
- 1:29:19Why we go into the shadow is because we are rewiring the unconscious.
- 1:29:24We go into the shadow because that's where everything is held.
- 1:29:28The unconscious creates our thoughts and our thoughts create our reality.
- 1:29:35But our unconscious is informed by the shadow.
- 1:29:38So all of the stories that you've held in your darkest places...
- 1:29:43the things that you don't want to admit about yourself, the things that really hurt you that you haven't processed, the things that people have said to you that you've buried, that you've repressed, that you've suppressed, all go into the shadow.
- 1:29:53And that's what's in the unconscious.
- 1:29:56So the unconscious is informed by the shadow, and the unconscious creates our thoughts, which creates our reality, which is why we want to clear the shadow, get our unconscious into a state of alignment, and that creates our reality.
- 1:30:10Hmm.
- 1:30:11Hmm.
- 1:30:12Wow.
- 1:30:13Oh, my word.
- 1:30:14Huh?
- 1:30:15Yes.
- 1:30:15Oh, my goodness.
- 1:30:17You know, reading your book, The Shadowlands Chapter and doing this work with you, because in the book, there's so many really incredible, thoughtful journal prompts.
- 1:30:25And you have that voice of fear that's like, I don't want to do this now, but you just do it.
- 1:30:29And yeah.
- 1:30:30this moment, sometimes it can feel like, what does my podcast have to do with, you know, like my, obviously everything has to do with childhood, but can you talk to us about things that seem unrelated, like someone is trying to manifest money, but then they're finding that it has to do with how they receive love, how all of these things connect?
- 1:30:49Because I had this really beautiful moment reading your book.
- 1:30:52where I was thinking about this podcast and perfectionism and some of the blocks that I go through with being seen.
- 1:30:59And I was thinking about my childhood self and how she only felt worthy of being celebrated when she was perfect and when she had really perfect news to share.
- 1:31:09I did so amazing in this test or that test, whatever.
- 1:31:12And I was like, wow, like I wasn't invited to be present with myself when I wasn't being perfect.
- 1:31:19And so I don't know how to relate to my imperfect self, which is myself.
- 1:31:24So it just makes me think of how all these different pieces of us are also interconnected.
- 1:31:29So how do you help people realize that they may think it's about money, but it's actually about how their father loved them or like, you know, something completely unrelated?
- 1:31:38Absolutely.
- 1:31:38It's all related.
- 1:31:39Mm-hmm.
- 1:31:40We learn how to be in the world and we build our expectations from those early formative experiences.
- 1:31:48That's how we build what it is, our bar, like what it is we deserve or what it is we don't deserve.
- 1:31:54Our expectations, how low they are.
- 1:31:57And abundance, the idea of things being successful, the idea of things flowing and being effortless.
- 1:32:05What does effortless manifestation look like?
- 1:32:08Well, look at how your parents have created.
- 1:32:11If you have seen that work has to be hard or it has to be, you know, and that is in the line and it has to be hard, we do carry that.
- 1:32:22You know, we carry that into our futures.
- 1:32:24You know, we can only succeed if it looks like this.
- 1:32:27So we really want to unpick that.
- 1:32:29And also when it comes to perfectionism, you know, we are messy.
- 1:32:35We are perfectly imperfect.
- 1:32:38we are so messy and life is messy.
- 1:32:41So that imperfect part of you has been shoved into your unconscious, has been shoved into your shadow.
- 1:32:48She's in your shadow.
- 1:32:49So that little part of you that felt real shame for maybe getting it wrong or if the test result wasn't going to be good or I didn't revise enough, what happens now?
- 1:33:02Well, it means that you aren't enough.
- 1:33:05It means that you're not lovable.
- 1:33:07It means that you don't feature, right?
- 1:33:09So when we're starting new projects, we may fail.
- 1:33:13And, you know, the art of failing is a massive part of being human because that's how we build, that's how we grow, that's how we shape, shape, shape, we emerge through our, what we learn and everything is a learning.
- 1:33:27But if we're doing this very, we're walking this very tight path, it's like a tightrope, right?
- 1:33:34And we're on this little tightrope and we've got to get it right and each step has to be perfect.
- 1:33:39And what happens eventually is the body,
- 1:33:42is in a state of tension.
- 1:33:45It's not in a state of flow.
- 1:33:47It's not actually engaging with the energy of the world.
- 1:33:52It's not playing with, you know, and changing.
- 1:33:56And wow, okay, that's changed colour.
- 1:33:58So I think I will too, because that feels nice.
- 1:34:00Or that person said hello, I'm going to say hello.
- 1:34:02It's actually, no, I've got to stick to this very tiny little way of being in the world and we become smaller.
- 1:34:09Wow.
- 1:34:11By default, we limit ourselves because that is a constricting way that we are constricting.
- 1:34:19We are not expanding because expanding has messy edges.
- 1:34:25If we expand, we expand into the unknown, right?
- 1:34:29We can't protect ourselves from the unknowns.
- 1:34:33We have to invite the unknown to meet us.
- 1:34:36We are going to meet them and that is what it means to be on an adventure.
- 1:34:40So that anchoring into the heart, the anchoring, that's the thing that can hold us safe when we go on those, into that new ocean, we go on that new adventure and that new journey.
- 1:34:53But it's really important to recognize that
- 1:34:58Ultimately, these parts keep us imprisoned.
- 1:35:09And even if you feel into them energetically, you can feel that, right?
- 1:35:13You feel into perfectionism.
- 1:35:16If you feel into the energy, I call them like slip streams, feel into the energy of perfectionism.
- 1:35:21Perfectionism makes us want to, you know, change our body language.
- 1:35:26You know, what do I say next?
- 1:35:27What happens?
- 1:35:28Do I, am I allowed to do this?
- 1:35:30Well, when we feel into the energy of expansion, you know, we exhale, you know,
- 1:35:39But we also have to then let go.
- 1:35:45And so all of that control, all of the control of keeping ourselves safe, white knuckling, all of that, you know, and spending that time in that little cave where we peek out and we look and we say, oh, you know, and we get envious about her doing that.
- 1:36:00And I can't go over there because there's, you know, there's no one that looks like me over there.
- 1:36:04But on over there, there's too many people that look like me.
- 1:36:07All of these ideas that we have, we're in our cave and the cave is safe, but we've got this little opening.
- 1:36:12We're just getting nowhere.
- 1:36:14That isn't an adventure.
- 1:36:16That isn't a journey.
- 1:36:18We're stuck.
- 1:36:20And so I see so many people who are stuck.
- 1:36:24They write me the emails.
- 1:36:26They sit in front of me.
- 1:36:28I'm stuck.
- 1:36:30And that is the stark energy.
- 1:36:33We, you know, what is inviting you out of that little cave, that playing small like that?
- 1:36:40What is inviting you out of that place?
- 1:36:42And I'd say, you know, if you do have a sort of spiritual leaning, you know, let it be the voice of God, you know, your higher self.
- 1:36:55Let it be that adventure that's calling you forward.
- 1:37:00Let your soul speak to you and get you out of there.
- 1:37:04You just spoke directly to me.
- 1:37:07You emerged from your dimension of reality and that was exactly what my soul, I know, came here to everything you shared, but what you just said about the tightrope and the cave and...
- 1:37:20I feel like we all felt that in like our bones.
- 1:37:22That was so powerful.
- 1:37:23I also just adored the way that you, these metaphors come to you or you've worked with this wisdom so much that you're able to explain it in a way that is so visceral because we feel these images and they're these archetypes that go somewhere else.
- 1:37:35And I just felt that so carefully.
- 1:37:37And when you said, if there's anything that allows you to come out of that cave, let it be the voice of God.
- 1:37:43Let it be your soul speaking to you, your higher self.
- 1:37:47It's just so, so gorgeous.
- 1:37:50And then also the divine feminine also comes to me as an energy of desire and really leaning into that wanting as a way of coming out of the cave because part of you really wants to.
- 1:37:59Wow, that really, I mean, I almost started crying.
- 1:38:02That was so beautiful.
- 1:38:03And I held myself safe and I knew it was safe to cry.
- 1:38:07It was also safe not to cry.
- 1:38:08So I appreciate you so, so, so much.
- 1:38:11And before we go to our closing ritual, I do, there is a beautiful invitation in your book where you speak about the system of family constellations.
- 1:38:20And I didn't know that that was based on Zulu shamanism.
- 1:38:24So I'd just love to hear more about that and also what you would say about sort of how we can decolonize or re-indigenize.
- 1:38:31We've been speaking about this this whole time, but I'm curious if you have anything come through for you on that.
- 1:38:36Yeah.
- 1:38:37I mean, I wanted to write about that in my book because people don't know.
- 1:38:42I did not know.
- 1:38:43And family constellations has taken over the world, right?
- 1:38:47It's taken over the Western world.
- 1:38:48People talk about family constellations.
- 1:38:51I'm always reminding people or telling people or informing people where it came from.
- 1:38:56Yes, it's a Zulu shamanic practice.
- 1:38:59It was taken by a psychotherapist who, you know, he went and studied.
- 1:39:04He went in South Africa.
- 1:39:07and took it back to the West and wrote it up and, you know, coined... And basically, that became something that has been colonised.
- 1:39:20And the power, the power of family constellations is the interdimensionality of it, which is... And I work with that system when I'm teaching because people...
- 1:39:36don't understand how it works, but it works because people say, well, there's an energy that comes over me.
- 1:39:41I'm not quite sure, you know, suddenly I'm the great uncle of this person in this family constellation workshop and I've never met this person or the energy of someone who's passed away comes over me.
- 1:39:52You know, we can do all of this work in this way, but it comes from South Africa, you know, and I think it's so important to decolonise people
- 1:40:07the art you know the these these really important practices and honor these practices um and have the people who really channeled them be recognized and known it's so important because otherwise we you know we end up in this um and it happens it's happening across the board really but these um
- 1:40:35Appropriated systems.
- 1:40:37And that is an appropriated system.
- 1:40:40So it's really important that that knowledge is out there.
- 1:40:46That this German psychotherapist, he went and spent time and then took that back.
- 1:40:55Wow.
- 1:40:55Wow.
- 1:40:56And then coined it, you know, it's family constellations.
- 1:41:00And he then sort of now in the mainstream, but it's in the mainstream as a white modality, psychotherapeutic modality.
- 1:41:11And it's not.
- 1:41:15Wow.
- 1:41:16Oh, my goodness.
- 1:41:16And you think about the...
- 1:41:18Really, I suppose, yeah, all of the incredible medicine people that would have worked with that modality, but also that is a tradition of that land, you know, and to not honour it is how we get into this.
- 1:41:39It's why we're up against, it's why we're looking into the world that we're looking into.
- 1:41:45Yes.
- 1:41:46Wow.
- 1:41:47Because that's why we're now on the brink of so many different collapses.
- 1:41:54That dishonouring, it kind of says it all really.
- 1:41:56Hmm.
- 1:41:58Hmm.
- 1:41:59For anyone who isn't familiar with what that Zulu shamanic practice then is that then then this person like that family constellation systems, what is it so that they can know that, oh, that's actually rooted in Zulu shamanism?
- 1:42:12Yeah.
- 1:42:13So what it is, is you get a group of people together.
- 1:42:16and you ask the person who's got an issue or there's a trauma or there's something happening, there's something they need to work on, that person chooses people from the group or the whole group may work together.
- 1:42:30If you're working in a group setting like that,
- 1:42:33It wasn't specific.
- 1:42:36I mean, in Western, how they've done it in Western, you can have a group of 20.
- 1:42:41And it wasn't necessarily like that in Zulu tradition.
- 1:42:45But, you know, the medicine person would work with a few people from the tribe and work with the people who had an issue.
- 1:42:54But now people bring in all sorts of, you know, there are 20 people in a room.
- 1:42:58But what happens is there's a person that is holding an issue or trauma or a story or something that they need wisdom or healing on.
- 1:43:09And the other people in the room become the people, hold the energy of the issue.
- 1:43:26and someone else could be my father and someone else could be my great-grandmother and what happens is the person feels the energy of that person come into them and literally into the body and you can do the work of healing with these three people in the room that have nothing to do with any of these people on the other side of the world
- 1:43:50And the person is actually channeling that person's energy.
- 1:43:54So that person will say, your grandmother really feels like this.
- 1:43:58But actually when she gave you away, when you were two years old, she was so frightened.
- 1:44:04You may have been holding something forever about being adopted or being sent away.
- 1:44:09And you can get the grandmother who's passed away into the room and speak to her or resolve something or feel something.
- 1:44:22understand more about what was happening for her.
- 1:44:26So it's a really powerful interdimensional space that also goes against the grain of Western thought because it's not about the mind.
- 1:44:38It's very in the body and it's about magic.
- 1:44:40It's very magical.
- 1:44:41You know, it's very interdimensional.
- 1:44:43It's very magical.
- 1:44:43It's very earth led and heart led.
- 1:44:47So it's spirit led.
- 1:44:48You know, it's not about thinking.
- 1:44:53So it's really interesting.
- 1:44:54But again, when we think about these practices and even dancing, you know how dancing or somatic healing, somatic healing is felt, you know, we're feeling our bodies.
- 1:45:08But again, it's something in indigenous places and spaces.
- 1:45:14That's what we've been doing forever.
- 1:45:16Mm-hmm.
- 1:45:19And so, again, this kind of repackaging of what that look cycle means or, you know, whether it's it.
- 1:45:26We have to really be mindful.
- 1:45:27It's happening with plant medicines now.
- 1:45:32You know, again.
- 1:45:35What does that mean for the people?
- 1:45:38You know, and the land.
- 1:45:41If everything is repackaged and, you know, has a label on it that's westernised and colonised.
- 1:45:49Yes.
- 1:45:52And that paradigm of colonialism, of coloniality, like in our minds, we see it as in our linear mind has ended, but it is literally alive and well in every way.
- 1:46:05You know, even AI, there's this incredible talk that I watched where if you just trace how the labor flows, I mean, it's all extremely colonial.
- 1:46:13Who does the work?
- 1:46:14who gets the credit for what AI is, and then who's actually doing the hard labor that's creating all this underpaid, very inconsistent and, what is the word?
- 1:46:24Like insecure, unstable labor that's often done in Kenya, in Uganda, and parts of different parts of Africa.
- 1:46:31Then the elements extracted from the earth, the conditions of that labor, and then the CEOs in Silicon Valley.
- 1:46:38And it's just, it's all here.
- 1:46:40It just feels like,
- 1:46:41Our mindsets have been warped to believe it's like a thing of the past, but it's present in every single, you know, every single part of our lives.
- 1:46:48So thank you for taking us there and reminding us that all these forms of healing are indigenous first.
- 1:46:55And how can we honor that?
- 1:46:57We see this with plant medicine.
- 1:46:58We see this with this work you've shared, obviously, with yoga and Ayurveda and all that, the Indian wisdom that has been completely colonized.
- 1:47:09Sorry, that has been deeply colonized in so many ways.
- 1:47:11So thank you for taking us there.
- 1:47:13We are at our closing now.
- 1:47:14It has been such a gift to have you and I could just ask you a thousand more things.
- 1:47:19It's been such an honor to listen to your wisdom and hold space.
- 1:47:23And I think there are so many threads that people can just go along and dance with after this conversation.
- 1:47:29I'd love to close with just a quick rapid fire one to two sentences from you and then we will wrap and ask, and then we will wrap.
- 1:47:37So my first question is, a song that changed me is...
- 1:47:41Heaven Is.
- 1:47:42That's a song written by my cousin, Andrew Roachford, who, you know, music is a massive part of my life.
- 1:47:50My father was a jazz saxophonist.
- 1:47:53He came over sort of on the Windrush generation from Barbados.
- 1:47:57And he came over, he couldn't even afford to pay for his saxophone.
- 1:48:01He made it all the way to France and then over to Dover and then to London, knowing no one at 17, and played jazz.
- 1:48:11He actually taught Fela Kuti.
- 1:48:13Yeah, he was an amazing and played jazz.
- 1:48:17But he, my family are a musical family and music obviously runs through as a healing.
- 1:48:22It's so healing.
- 1:48:23And my cousin, Andrew, he would teach, he taught Andrew, but also Andrew then became an artist.
- 1:48:29Wow.
- 1:48:30And I was living with him at a certain point years ago.
- 1:48:33And he wrote this song, Heaven Is, which is so beautiful.
- 1:48:37And it was so, at such a moment in time.
- 1:48:40I mean, I was, I had a music show actually on the World Service, the BBC World Service.
- 1:48:44So I love music.
- 1:48:46I love 90s soul.
- 1:48:49I love Lauryn Hill, like rap.
- 1:48:50I love jazz.
- 1:48:52I mean, I love all sorts of music.
- 1:48:53I love folk.
- 1:48:54I love everything.
- 1:48:55But I do.
- 1:48:57This is a beautiful, beautiful tune.
- 1:48:59So and it's about where where your heaven is, is where you find your heaven.
- 1:49:04And we talk about that heaven on earth and the line sort of my heaven is, you know, being here with you.
- 1:49:12So it's beautiful.
- 1:49:13Wow.
- 1:49:15Oh, heaven is.
- 1:49:16We're all going to link to it below.
- 1:49:18Oh my word, I'm so excited to listen and hearing your history with music and the healing power of music and your father and Fela Kuti.
- 1:49:25Oh my goodness, that's amazing.
- 1:49:27That's amazing.
- 1:49:28Wow, heaven is wonderful.
- 1:49:30And then a book I recommend to everyone is?
- 1:49:33Well, actually, this is a book from many, many years ago.
- 1:49:37I just, it came, it's a book that I always love.
- 1:49:39And it's The Famished Road by Ben Ockrey.
- 1:49:42I read that at university.
- 1:49:44And I love that because it was the first, it's a book about magic, sort of magical realism.
- 1:49:49And what it means to see things, you know, and he, that's, it's a book about how religion, how Christianity came to Africa and how it, what it did to the indigenous wisdom and sort of disrupted the African natural relationship with the earth and with spirit.
- 1:50:14Spirit, mm-hmm.
- 1:50:15And I've always loved that.
- 1:50:17And I actually recommend that.
- 1:50:19It's on my forever list.
- 1:50:20Wow.
- 1:50:21The Famished Road.
- 1:50:22Oh, my goodness.
- 1:50:23Wow.
- 1:50:23I'm going to read that book.
- 1:50:24That sounds amazing.
- 1:50:25We will link to all of these below.
- 1:50:28The third is a person I carry with me in everything I do.
- 1:50:31Is my mother.
- 1:50:34Absolutely.
- 1:50:35My mother, who is the purveyor of all lessons in the lifetime, and much wisdom, much pain, much love, all of the things.
- 1:50:48And really, the...
- 1:50:51You know, I would say I wouldn't have chosen anyone else.
- 1:50:55I mean, we do choose our parents.
- 1:50:58I carry her fierceness with me and her...
- 1:51:05There's a part of her where she has such a commitment to truth and really to love, you know, and, and, and, and.
- 1:51:17So she put me on the path really to find the mother of all mothers.
- 1:51:22I needed to, and I wouldn't have done that without her.
- 1:51:26Wow.
- 1:51:27Hmm.
- 1:51:29The wildest manifestation story I've seen.
- 1:51:31The wildest manifestation story that I've seen would probably be, I always talk about Charlotte Tilbury.
- 1:51:38Yeah, you wanted to talk about that at some point.
- 1:51:40I was hoping you would mention it.
- 1:51:41Yeah.
- 1:51:42And Charlotte Tilbury, I remember she came to see me.
- 1:51:45She's a friend of mine.
- 1:51:47But she came to see me and I did a reading for her.
- 1:51:51And I said to her in that reading, you know, you will be the next Estée Lauder.
- 1:51:56It was there.
- 1:51:57I could feel it was the download.
- 1:51:59Wow.
- 1:51:59And what was she doing at the time?
- 1:52:00She was a waitress at the time.
- 1:52:02She just finished her makeup course.
- 1:52:08She was a waitress.
- 1:52:09She was living in like a bedsit in Labrador Grove.
- 1:52:12And I was like, this is going to happen.
- 1:52:17And she said, I know.
- 1:52:22Oh, my goodness.
- 1:52:24And she said, I know with such clarity and such alignment.
- 1:52:29And it was in that moment that I realized that I'd need to take my work and deepen my work and do I'd have to go into the unconscious in order to help people rewire.
- 1:52:41Because most people, when I get something downloaded for them, I say, you could do this.
- 1:52:47This is really, this is in your future.
- 1:52:49I can feel this.
- 1:52:49I can feel that.
- 1:52:50Most people, by the time they've got out of the door, or, you know, they'd be like, she doesn't really know what she's talking about.
- 1:52:56Oh, I don't really know about that.
- 1:52:57Oh, I need to eat my sandwich for lunch.
- 1:52:58Oh, you know, that's not going to happen.
- 1:53:00That's never going to happen.
- 1:53:02And I realized at that moment, I thought, wow, okay, this is what the story is.
- 1:53:07Because most people, 99% of people,
- 1:53:11When it's nothing is in sight, nothing is in sight.
- 1:53:16believe like that or can hold that belief for long enough because remember we were talking about the 95% of the 5% it doesn't even matter if it's 50-50 it doesn't matter if you spend just 10 minutes a day just in utter complete alignment just all the noise pushing that to one side in complete alignment right here right now feeling it, tasting it, doing it, being it yes that's going to happen it's already done and so it is, it's done it is
- 1:53:46It's on its way.
- 1:53:48So even 50-50, that changes your frequency.
- 1:53:53Wow.
- 1:53:54Okay.
- 1:53:55And she just held the frequency.
- 1:53:57Whoa.
- 1:53:58Which is why then she created a business in eight years.
- 1:54:01It was, you know, it's a billion dollar business in eight years.
- 1:54:05Wow.
- 1:54:06So she kind of went from that to...
- 1:54:10becoming the highest paid makeup artist in the world, and then started her own brand.
- 1:54:16But with that knowing.
- 1:54:17With that knowing.
- 1:54:19Oh my word.
- 1:54:20I have chills.
- 1:54:21Hearing you say that her conviction and alignment actually taught you that you needed to help people achieve what you saw embodied in her and work on that unconscious and fully align and be that 95%.
- 1:54:33Then also the clarity of like this 10 minute practice per day.
- 1:54:37being in that energy, feeling it, seeing it.
- 1:54:39I'm excited.
- 1:54:39I'm taking that.
- 1:54:40I'm going to be doing that each day.
- 1:54:41I do do that, but I'm going to do it with more sort of like awareness that that's what I'm doing.
- 1:54:47So thank you so much.
- 1:54:48If there's one thing you take from this conversation, I hope it is to stay curious and open your heart.
- 1:54:54Stay curious and open your heart.
- 1:54:56And finally, if my inner child walked through that door, I would say to her.
- 1:55:00Mine?
- 1:55:00Yours, yes.
- 1:55:01If your inner child walked through that door.
- 1:55:03Every time I think about my inner child, it brings me to tears.
- 1:55:06I love my inner child.
- 1:55:08She's so sweet.
- 1:55:11I'm really proud of her.
- 1:55:12We see her.
- 1:55:15Hmm.
- 1:55:16We're so proud of her.
- 1:55:17Wow.
- 1:55:18All the versions of you, I got an image of all the ages of you, like all here with us.
- 1:55:22And we're so grateful.
- 1:55:23Thank you for your time.
- 1:55:25Thank you for your energy.
- 1:55:26Thank you for your heart and being in your heart.
- 1:55:28Thank you for your sacred tears and for giving us so much wisdom to sit with and to reflect on and for being brave, you know, speaking this wisdom into the world, even at times when people were not ready to hear it and doing your work, answering the calling.
- 1:55:44not just having the idea for the book, but sitting with it.
- 1:55:46And I know these are multi-year manifestations.
- 1:55:49So thank you for the way that you are in the world and the heart revolution you're guiding us to and through.
- 1:55:56And I just truly hope to have you back, always invited to the Soul Salon.
