A five-year-old boy died after suffering severe injuries when his father allegedly stormed into his room at an apartment complex in Pineville, then fled. The mother discovered the child unresponsive and police rushed him to the hospital — where he later died. The suspect, 31-year-old Jehaaz-Akil Khaliq Echoles, was arrested at a Taco Bell and charged with first-degree murder. Police believe this was a domestic incident, not random violence.
