Speaker A: Go out to la. To la. Y' all coming from the city where no pity is. Shell. Shell. Somebody need to do a song for la.
• 0:06
  Speaker B: Straight up.
• 0:13
Speaker A: Hello, my name is Elaine and I'll be your tour guide through South Central Los Angeles.
• 0:18
Speaker B: Look, count my. No, it's smoke up. I'm from California. Where you from?
• 0:23
  Speaker A: So what?
• 0:24
Speaker B: I'm from California. Cal, California. Cal, California.
• 0:29
Speaker A: This is Los Angeles.
• 0:30
Speaker C: Well, where by that age, I had already had my stash of music. That long as she didn't see it. I don't think my mom really cared at that point. I just couldn't play it in front of them.
• 0:45
Speaker A: When you said stash, I thought you was about to say drugs.
• 0:48
Speaker C: No, music was my drugs. When other kids were stashing drugs and porn or whatever you ain't supposed to. I was hiding music and hip hop books. That's.
• 0:59
Speaker A: Nobody was hiding porn.
• 1:01
Speaker C: Well, tell that to some people that I knew was hot and porn,
• 1:08
Speaker A: because they were. They were hiding it. It was so many stashes back in the day, long before I was born, you know what I mean? Sometimes you gotta ask yourself, who introduced you to porn? How did you find out about it? You know what I mean? It seems like a lot of us were. We experienced it very early, at an early age, you know, there's a very important episode I need you to check out. That 12 cow also did by himself, a solo where he talks about, you know, his. Basically his experience through watching television, you know, and that's important because I was born in a different decade, a different generation, you know what I'm saying? It was a little bit different on how things operated around the time that I was born and going forward, you know, but the great thing about. The great thing about experience is that sometimes you share similar experiences, you know, because there's only so much that could actually. I mean, you hear different stories of all the time about some of the same issues or problems or things, funny things that people might say, you know, And I think one thing that a lot of us, including you, that's listening, can relate to is that good old porn stache. And how long did you have one? That's the wild thing, because nowadays everything is consumed over the phone and. Or laptops, iPads is all digital. It's all, you know, online, you know, and we know, we know about that, about that secret. That secret stash that you got on your phone, you know, the one that. The side where you. You know, the private browser, you know, the one where you gotta sign. You gotta sign in on your Face to see what's going on on that filthy side of town. Because when you wanna go old school, I've always wanted a tree house. And everybody knows that. The guys who had, you know, the fellas that had a tree house, they had a porn stash in it. Maybe not all of them. Some of them was probably kosher. They, you know, clean, straight by the book. But then you had just the regular old Joes, you know what I'm saying? The regular ones, the little homies that used to go up and climb up in that tree house or clubhouse and they got a treasure chest or some type of. They got it in something. And it was magazines. Now, you also hear 12 cow mention, man, I didn't, you know, he couldn't really get into the Playboy magazines. And I. And I. And I feel him pause. I understand. Jesus. I understand, right? Because the centerfolds that they had back then, the models that they had in that book, to me now, I seen some great looking milk before. I have. I can't even. I can't even. You know, I can't tell you that if it came from that goddamn magazine, though. You see what I'm saying? They were, you know, it was them petite pancake cheeks having models that they had up in there, nipples galore. Chest. They had some great chest ones up in there, you know, but see, you gotta see, you gotta think about the evolution of all of this. Because eventually, like in my era, we started to get like magazines like Dime Magazine, double xl. There was another one. I forgot what the name that it was, but yeah, I'm pretty sure y' all yelling at it, but they had these magazines that, you know, not just, you know, the swimsuit model edition was always popular too. Now, it may not have been popular amongst the black community so much, but we knew about it. We. It was popular, but it wasn't like we was going to get the swimsuit edition and stuff like that, but we knew about. It was a very popular thing. Some of them, Some of the models we probably knew, but it wasn't, you know, those wasn't the magazines that we was going to get and magazines back in those Playboy magazines was it, you know, you got a hold of one of those, usually got it from your pop stash or your uncle's stash or older brother, you know, his stash. My older brother is probably the main reason
• 5:57
  Speaker C: I.
• 5:57
Speaker A: Not. You don't want to say you got into porn. Never got into porn. That's crazy. I do know somebody and I went with somebody. I drove somebody to an appointment. Let me just tell this story. I get a phone call, hey, I need you to run me down to this interview downtown. I said, all right, no problem. You know what I'm saying? Kind of caught me off guard because he wasn't dressed like for an interview, you know, slacks, button down, a tie or something like this. You know, more of a, more of a casual interview type look, right? No, this nigga had on like we was going to hoop afterward, right? And I'd never forget, it was just, you know, one of the, it wasn't downtown. It was, well, it was on the way to, down. It was close to downtown, you know, and it's right next to the, to the Blue line. It's a McDonald's over there. It's actually a McDonald's across the street, directly across the street from this, this building. And this building is, this building is like, is. You can see it right off the freeway, right off the 10 freeway. And it's headed towards downtown, towards the downtown area. But anyways, this was one of them old ass buildings that got millions of, you know, it's a. Just a building full of space, you know what I'm saying? And different companies and stuff like that ran out the space inside this building. And you know, he was like, you know, he asked me to come with him and I said, cool, because, okay, you know, we, we paid for parking. And I'm like, all right, I got, I'm figuring that it's gonna be, you know, I'm gonna have to wait for a while and stuff like that, right? So went up there with him. He never told me what it was until we got there. Well, he never, he didn't tell me what it was before we got there. But once we got there, he told me he was like, I got a, a modeling audition or something like that. I said, all right, cool. Random. Weird. Well, it's not weird that he had a modeling interview because you can get those opportunities being any and everywhere in la for real. It can. You know, people, they, you know, that's in that industry be walking around like that every day looking for people just, you know, they doing a scouting or whatever. But there was also porn stars that were floating around and most of them were in the valley and coming out to the downtown LA life or wherever the popular clubs and lounges was that. And yeah, there's some, there's some stories out there that I can get to when it comes to certain porn models. And both men and women had cats out there like scouting and hunting and a Lot of it took place on the campus of Northridge. Y' all don't want to talk about it anyhow, so we go up there, go. I mean, this. This place like, like on the seventh floor or something like that. We go in there. It's a white guy, older white guy. Nigga look like Alfred from Batman, right? And he over there, like, it just looked like he just doing some paperwork, like accountant work or some. Another cat. I forgot what he looked like, but a cat approached us or whatever. I'm sitting down not too far away from the white guy that's calculating shit up, right? Just sitting in the waiting area. But it's still one big room. And then there's another side room, and it has one of those. I'm not sure what the glass is called, but you can see the silhouette of the. Of a person that's standing in front of it or slightly, not too far from it, right? Next thing you know, like, I'm just sitting there. I want. And. And. And this was some. This was some years. This was before. This was probably somewhere. This probably was it MySpace era. Some. It was somewhere around there. It was way before ig. Way before ig, right? So I couldn't. There wasn't too much scrolling unless I was on MySpace, right? Because right before MySpace, you had. I mean, MySpace. Facebook wasn't really cracking like that when MySpace was cracking like that. And then before that was Black Planet. But anyhow, it wasn't, you know, it was more messaging than anything around that time. That's what I remember. So I'm probably sitting up there, just messaging back and forth, stuff like that. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Next thing you know, I look at that door with that, you know, that window, and I can see, like, somebody standing, like, not too far away from it, but it looks like they don't have a shirt on, right? Didn't think and anything. Nothing of it. Put my head back down in my phone. Next thing you know, I hear the door open or whatever, and I could see this particular person that I know. Like, they was, like, putting back on their clothes, and I was like, what the. What's. What's going on? What's going on? So then we got. We went to McDonald's, then we got to the car, started to head back, and he was like, yeah, that was. That was an audition for porn. I said, what? I said what? I said, nigga. What? He was like, yeah, something about. They told him that the scenes that he would be shooting, they will only be sold to and shipped to overseas. Or some shit like that. And I'm like, nigga, you. I said, nigga, you crazy. I said, if they take pictures, and I think they did or whatever. And he was, he said, he was like, he wasn't tripping or something like that. And I told him, I was like, you know, that they could. Like, not even if you never performed a scene, they could still sell like your image. Like not sell your image, but like promote with your image and stuff like that. But I said to this day, I was like, that's crazy. That's wild, whatever. Anyhow, when we talk about the stashes and we was talking about Playboy, I agree. Don't get me wrong again. All races got beautiful, beautiful women. Nothing better than my black queens, you know what I mean? There's also some other ones that's woo. They got some exotic ones. It doesn't matter what color they got them in. White, black, yellow, brown. They got them in all type of colors, man, they are. God knew what he was doing when he started when he broke out that paintbrush and he was like, no, not only am I gonna give y' all a shade of a color, but I'm gonna give y' all different shades of that color, you know what I mean? Oh, man. Top tier melanin when it comes to this blackness, you know what I mean? So I can't. I'm never against the outside of the race. They got some. But it was also body type that I was like, ugh, you know, these petite little things up in this, up in this Playboy magazine, you know what I'm saying? But Playboy, they was running the game. And having a Playboy magazine was. It's like rice to passes, it was something different. And everybody that was, I ain't gonna say everybody that was supposed to have em, but from your father to your uncle to your brother to your cousin, you know what I mean? To your friends, yourself, everybody hit it, you know what I'm saying? Like, younger, you sharing it with the fellas, like y' all all sitting around. Because at one point, like, you know, before they started to put this stuff on tape, that's all you had was the printout, you know, pause. Some. Some people could take that the wrong way, you know what I mean? So, yeah, you would, you know, to me, the top tier stash, I would say, is definitely, you know, when you in that younger age, definitely in a tree house, you put all your crazy shit in the treehouse right next to the slingshot, the lighter, you know what I'm saying? Like, you putting all this shit that your mama's gonna be disgusted and upset about and worried about up in that goddamn treehouse. Including those magazines. That magazine was like, that shit was. It was gold. It was gold. Niggas came. That was the meetup spot. That was the players club. That was the members only, nigga. You know what I'm saying? That was the club back then. But then, you know, the bulk of the stashes was always in the house, you know what I'm saying? If you was smart, if you had a shed. See, saying the word shed sounds shady to me. You know what I'm saying? Like, yeah, they back in the shed. Yeah, niggas was hiding shit by that lawnmower, you know what I'm saying? Or that. Or, you know, whatever you clean the yard up with. You got a lot of garden shit up in here. And here's the thing, no matter where you hid the motherfuckers, it was always a stupid place to put them. One of the smartest places, great hide and go seek. But it seemed like all those spots, niggas cracked. But niggas was putting them under they bed, putting them under their mattress between the box spring and the. You know what I'm saying? It's stupid because once or twice a year, your mother is gonna be on her Mary J. Blige spring cleaning, okay? Like she's about to break out the Best of Whitney Houston and clean your room like it's an Airbnb. And one of the major things that she gonna do is make sure she changed the sheets to your bed. She pro got some new ones and she changed them, nigga. And guess what? She gonna find your stash because you. Your dumb ass is gonna put them right there on your side of the bed, right there, while she's tucking that goddamn fitted sheet. You know, the closet is easy. It's either gonna be in the left, right up, down around the corner in that corner, you know what I'm saying? It's either gonna be up top with all them books that you collected and comic books and the fucking race car that you don't have batteries to. That top corner over there in that Jordan 4 shoebox, you gonna put it in the shoebox in the corner. There's gonna be shit stacked on top of it. You gonna put it behind something. You know, one of the dumbest moves you ever made was you panicked one time and you put that shit in your backpack. Your ass went to school one day, opened up your backpack, and that shit was right there. You was nervous the whole Day you was nervous the whole day. Okay, Killer A. We had some killer spots, bro. But that closet, that closet is top tier, you know? Now, one of the most common places, 12 cal. That motherfucking dresser. And you sometimes you try to mix it up. You put it in the dresser with the socks and your drawers, you know what I mean? You put it in that third one to the left in the back. The shit is always in the back. No matter what you say. We try. We always tried to hide extra hide it. Everything we did, no matter where you hit that motherfucker, it was in the back. You hid your shit in the back, my nigga. You know, if you had a little bit of money when you got older, you went to go get you a little safe. You know, the safe, they give you two keys just in case your dumb ass forget the goddamn code to it. So you can unlock it this way, you know, you put it up in there. My brother had a stash when he moved with. When he moved with my mom and us. Cause he. Damn, I'm telling my brother. Business. That's crazy. He would say it on the. But you know, he went to school in Linwood and he was staying with his pops. And we would pick him up, you know, during the high school year, during his high school years. And pick him up, you know, every weekend or every other weekend. It wasn't like that all the time. Cause I will always get excited when that nigga came and spent the weekend. Cause that nigga we used to bring his Nintendo. That nigga had games with his little stingy ass. That nigga was stingy too. Anyhow, I used to get excited when we picked him up from. And he stayed off of Elm street in Linwood. There's an actual Elm street in Linwood. I never forget. I used to always think about Freddie going to pick this nigga up because the nigga stayed off of Elm Street. But as he got older, I just remember he moved back. He had a day bed, so we had a dining room. And the dining room was fairly big, but that's where he was sleeping at, in the dining room. Because me and my younger brother was sleeping in. We had a two bedroom home on the east side. And so he slept in a dining room. He. The nigga had this when I first. The mid-90s, mid-90s, because I was in middle school mid-90s, and I got to. I got to like take over his bed when he. Because he had. What he had went to jail for a minute or whatever. Was it jail? The nigga went to jail. Um, yeah, he was sitting down for a little bit. Just a little bit. Nothing crazy, though. Nothing crazy. But anyhow, that's when I was first introduced to a daybed. Nigga. Daybeds are different, bro. Them motherfuckers is super comfortable, nigga. Yeah, like mid-90s. That's when I first got introduced to a daybed. And he had his stuff there. He had. Look, the nigga had his drawers. Cause the way our dining room was is we had, like, this drawer set up. Like it wasn't, you know, not a fireplace, but it was like a cabinet. It was like cabinets and stuff like that in the dining room. And then you had a daybed, and he. Like, his stuff was all in the corner. So he had, like, clothes and stuff and shoe boxes. And then he had, like, this. This metal. Like. Like, it wasn't. It was like a square. Like a narrow, square metal cabinet that opened up from the top. And it's like you could just put stuff in there. And I remember you could lock it. And he did. He used to like it a lot. And sometimes he used to leave it unlocked. And so the times where he left it unlocked, I'm. You know, I'm going up in there, I'm seeing what my brother got. You know what I'm saying? I used to wear his clothes to school and shit like that. Some of this shit didn't fit. Like, I used to wear his Eddie Bowery jeans. This nigga was like a 42 in the waist, you know what I'm saying? But at the time, you know, that's where niggas was wearing the baggy Eddie Bowers and the baggy Karl Kaniatis and shit like that. N was wearing. I don't. I don't remember niggas. I know Jordash was a thing, but I don't remember niggas in the hood wearing Jordache and shit like that. But, you know, niggas was wearing Levi's, Eddie Bowers, you know, like I said, Carl Kanai, shit like that. And it was baggy. So, you know, whatever I could get off, I got off, you know? And then. So when he did leave his. You know, when he left his stash unlocked, I used to see what he had up in there. And then that's when I found the tape. I found the tape. And I had mentioned this on a podcast that me and Britt did, but I told her I never wanted to say the name. Cause you know how people are just funny these days. But, I mean, the truth Is one of them was called Amazing Asians, right? And then the other one was called. It was like. I think it was like persuasive. Was it persuasive or was it Persian or something like that? But he had just random tapes, right? He had a couple of them, had random tapes. And you know how that. How it. If you. If you started from the beginning, it's that big ass, just blue screen. And then comes the, like the. The intro. And like. Yeah, you know what? You know what it is? She was the shit was shot in Chatsworth. It always said. Was shot in Chatsworth, California, the Valley. And he did have magazines too, but they wasn't. They wasn't Playboy. I'm not sure what these particular magazines were called, like the Company, but I remember they had this one bad chick up in. And she wasn't black. She was like. She was exotic. I don't. I couldn't tell you where she was from, but she was from another country. But she was a brick house. And a brick house back in the 90s, wasn't. It was. It's not like now. Like now brick houses plus size, voluptuous BBWs, et cetera. Is. This is probably the popular era for it. But in the 90s it was like, for the most part they were much smaller. But then you had curvy women all the time. But it's more, I want to say, popular now. And this is probably another word I want to use. But in the 90s, I mean, there was different body variations and stuff like that, but for the most part it was petite. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. But this magazine. So when I seen the model, she was. And I think they give you the measurements too, but she was like, I'm talking about brick house. Right. And so what I did is I took her page out. Yeah, I took her page. And what I did was I cut the. I cut the, like, certain. I cut certain parts out so I could put it on my folder when I went to school. So I never got in trouble for it. I don't think I did, but I would have if the teachers would have seen it. And it was still the original photo, but it wasn't. I made some editing decisions or whatever. But she was bad, though. Crazy. But that's what I found in his stash. And sometimes I would have to just try to put it back exactly how it was. He may have caught on or not. He may have cared or not. But I know eventually I started to watch his tapes. And then before he came back I had to rewind it back to where it was. And that's when we. It's all. It's straight VCR. VCR. Before we got. Before we get to DVDs. Yeah, the VCR versions was crazy, you know what I mean? And like I said, those stages will go from anywhere to under your bed, in his shoebox, perfect places, you know what I'm saying? Until you forget. Like, you always gonna get caught when you just not thinking about it. And then something random pops off, like your girl or your parents or somebody snooping around in the room. But nothing, nothing gets you. I don't think. I think more people are getting caught during spring cleaning than anything. Cause spring cleaning, like, that's when you locked in. You locked in. You about to clean those baseboards. If you cleaning baseboards, that means you cleaning in detail. So you gonna find whatever you not looking for. That's a fact. That's a fact. Now when we graduate to the DVDs, it's easier to hide those because they not taking up much room. Like, each tape is taking up a lot of room. But those DVDs. No. And then you got DVD holders. And you don't have to, you know, like, they don't have to come in a original case. And you don't want to keep the original case either, because it's telling your business. You got Blizzard Butts 98. Like, it's telling. And it. All the graphics is always crazy. You know, you turn into the back, they got seven, you know, seven different, you know, women. And then for the one for the popular men, it'd be like, featuring, you know, so and so. You know, the soundtrack is always. Sounds like Daz had a secret stash and said here him and DJ Quick, you know, then you graduate to the DVDs. And then. I ain't gonna lie, yo, my cousin gave me. And he. It was as a. It was a joke because he had got it from his homeboy. But it was a. It was like a case. And I think this damn case held like over 20, 30 DVDs. And it was almost full. It was almost full. And I kid you not, believe me, if you. If you believe me or believe me not, somehow that case ended up. That whole thing ended up at my. At my. At my crib, right? And I know my cousin left it or whatever, but he came over to show me. He was like, this is such and such stash or whatever. Look at this. Like, he laughing. But I know, low key, you taking it back home. You know, the left it or whatever. And then that mug stuck with me. Look, that mug stuck with me for so long, it ended up going to a female friend's house. No lie. She took over the DVDs. We never got it back. That's crazy. 30, like almost 30 DVDs went from the original person who collected them to my cousin to my house, to her house. Oh my God. But you know, eventually you didn't need a stash anymore. Nah, you didn't need to physically and shout out, I know somebody. I know somebody. And she's a woman that used to that stash. The. What's old girl name? Superhead. Whatever her. I forgot her name. I know it starts with an S or something like that, but. Superhead. Remember she had a dvd, a popular one that went around and I remember I found it. Not snooping. I wasn't snooping. I think I was actually looking for something and I noticed the DVD case. That's what I'm saying. You never keep the case, Big dog. The case tells everything. But it was the like you purchased this, like you went to go buy this and it was the Karina Steffens, I think, right? Karina Steffens. I said her name starts with an S and it's her last name. So yeah, Superhead. And yeah, she had the. I was like, oh my God. Cause it was like you never really hear about women having a artist. If you know, then, you know, women got a stash too, right? But you don't know. You don't find too many as often that is known for having a stash. Usually it's the men that have one. But when you find it, it's crazy. And then. Cause you like now it's like, oh, this is what you into. You know what I'm saying? So it's always interesting to see what type of flicks women like. Watching is pure entertainment. Get your popcorn ready. Okay. And then. Then you go to now. Now all the stashes is digital. You know what I'm saying? Like I said earlier, you hide behind that private browser or. Or. And I know I'm telling all the tricks fellas, but at this point, n. Who cares? You. You'll have I heard of cats having like using apps. You know, I heard cats going over to Reddit to where they play it smart. They don't have nothing saved, they just go to Reddit. What's the other thing? The other thing is. Well, you can have. You. Well, you basically make your own folders. Oh, saving links and saving it to your notes with the podcast That I usually podcast. What they don't know is as soon as I got this idea, and this is almost. This is way less than 24 hours that I had the idea, I did a lot of research and I called around and I asked some people and they was telling me some shit and I got a lot of information from one person. Like the bulk of my information I got from one person. I just know a lot of other people share the same experiences. So when they was like, yeah, I got a link and I save it to my notes and I go back to that and then you got the only fans. That's a different type of stash. But that stash comes with paper trail. Because now you paying monthly for some. What you think is, well, I don't know. Because I don't know. I've never paid for only fans at all. I'm not doing that. The support is support. I support that you do what you do. But to subscribe to somebody like, nah, nah, man, I don't see myself doing that. But that's where the new statues go. Like now cats is making their accounts or are they waiting for one of these cats that know how to hack shit? And it was a thing where they would. Where they would drop the only fan links. It would be a folder. I forgot what it was called that year. Was. Was that, like, I know it was around the pandemic time. I'm not saying that it was during the pandemic, but I'm saying it was around the pandemic time when them photos was dropping and shit like that. And there it is. There it is, the stashes, man. You know, man, shout out. Because again, unless you stay by yourself and you don't allow a lot of people in your private space, like, there's really no great place to put your stash. Because there's gonna be a time where you either forget that it's there cause you ain't been to it in a while, or you not. Like it's so many things that can go wrong. You know what I'm saying? It's going to happen. Somebody, if you are a person that have people around you on a regular basis, deep cleaning and shit like that, eventually is going to be a time where you're not there to correct what you need to correct before shit is about to go down. And like I said, don't put that shit under your mattress. Why would you do that?
