Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: It's time for today's word. On your early morning praise
- 0:04Speaker 1: party with me, your girl Sheery Nacky. Today's word called
- 0:09Speaker 1: beyond the catch look five ten and eleven says. Jesus
- 0:15Speaker 1: replied to Simon, don't be afraid. From now own, you'll
- 0:20Speaker 1: be fishing for people. As soon as they landed, they
- 0:25Speaker 1: left everything and followed Jesus. You know, Peter had spent
- 0:30Speaker 1: the night fishing and he didn't catch a thing. He
- 0:33Speaker 1: was exhausted, he was disappointed and lightly frustrated. He was
- 0:37Speaker 1: ready to pack it in. Then Jesus showed up. Oh,
- 0:41Speaker 1: and Jesus shows up. He told Peter to push out
- 0:45Speaker 1: into the deep water and let down his net again.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Peter hesitated at first, after all, he was the experienced
- 0:53Speaker 1: fisherman now, but he obeyed Jesus's word, and in that
- 0:59Speaker 1: moment everything changed because he chose to obey God. The
- 1:05Speaker 1: nets filled with so many fish that they began to break,
- 1:08Speaker 1: and the boats began to sink under the weight of
- 1:12Speaker 1: the blessing. Hello, somebody. Overwhelmed by the miracle, Peter fell
- 1:16Speaker 1: to his knees and cried out, Lord, please depart from me.
- 1:20Speaker 1: I'm too much of a sinner to be around you.
- 1:23Speaker 1: He felt unworthy, he felt unqualified, he felt undeserving of
- 1:28Speaker 1: such favor. But noticed Jesus's response. He didn't shame Peter.
- 1:33Speaker 1: He didn't agree with his doubts. Instead, he said, don't
- 1:37Speaker 1: be afraid. From now on, you will fish for people.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Jesus wasn't just feeling Peter's nets. He was calling him
- 1:46Speaker 1: to his destiny. He was saying, Peter, you may not
- 1:49Speaker 1: feel worthy, but I see more in you than you
- 1:52Speaker 1: see in yourself. You are forgiven, you are chosen. You
- 1:56Speaker 1: are called to be a disciple, your call to be
- 1:59Speaker 1: a world your call to be a history maker. This
- 2:04Speaker 1: is the heart of the gospel. God's blessing, his mercy,
- 2:09Speaker 1: his favor. They are not based on our performance, and
- 2:13Speaker 1: they're not based on perfection. Thank you Jesus, we can
- 2:17Speaker 1: earn them. They are gifts of grace. Just like Peter.
- 2:21Speaker 1: You may feel like your past has been too much,
- 2:24Speaker 1: and you may think I'm not qualified, I've made too
- 2:28Speaker 1: many mistakes. God can't use me. But the truth is
- 2:34Speaker 1: God specializes in using the unlikely. He calls the imperfect,
- 2:39Speaker 1: he redeems the broken, and he turns ordinary people into
- 2:43Speaker 1: extraordinary vessels for his glory. When Peter heard the call,
- 2:47Speaker 1: he left everything and followed Jesus. He exchanged the life
- 2:51Speaker 1: of catching fish for a life of catching souls. And
- 2:55Speaker 1: just like Peter, God is calling you beyond the temporary.
- 2:58Speaker 1: He's calling you beyond the blessings and to greater purpose.
- 3:04Speaker 1: The miracle of the fish was just the beginning. The
- 3:07Speaker 1: real miracle was the transformation of Peter's life. So don't
- 3:11Speaker 1: let fear, don't let shame or self doubt keep you
- 3:14Speaker 1: from receiving what God has placed before you. His call
- 3:19Speaker 1: is not about what you've done, but about what He's
- 3:22Speaker 1: able to do through you. Say yes, follow him and
- 3:27Speaker 1: step in two the life he has prepared for you.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Oh Father God, thank you for seeing more in us
- 3:35Speaker 1: than we often see in ourselves. Thank you that our
- 3:38Speaker 1: past mistakes and failures and shortcomings do not disqualify us
- 3:42Speaker 1: from your call. Help us to receive your grace, to
- 3:45Speaker 1: lay aside fear, and to step boldly into the destiny
- 3:49Speaker 1: that you prepared for us. We choose to follow you
- 3:52Speaker 1: wherever you lead in Jesus' name. Hey, now that's your
- 3:56Speaker 1: word for today. Take it apply to your everyday life,
- 3:59Speaker 1: and you continue to be encouraged and inspired. AH here
- 4:02Speaker 1: on your early morning praise party with me, your girl,
- 4:04Speaker 1: Sherry Mackie
