- 0:02Speaker0: Hi, everyone, and welcome back to the Eye Opener Society. I'm so glad you can
- 0:07Speaker0: join us and so happy for all the listeners out there.
- 0:11Speaker0: Again, I don't know how to really thank you other than to say thank you. It's been really great.
- 0:18Speaker0: It's been difficult for me because, again, I don't have my co-host with me, Hannah.
- 0:24Speaker0: It's going to be a while before she's able to come back on the show.
- 0:27Speaker0: And so it's been
- 0:30Speaker0: difficult to sit here and try and do a podcast talking to
- 0:33Speaker0: myself again like I used to uh so I've been
- 0:36Speaker0: trying new things and you know doing quickie podcasts I'm gonna start probably
- 0:41Speaker0: doing those on the regular platform doing like 10 minute shows for everybody
- 0:45Speaker0: um with some sort of theme or topic but I've had the support of uh Ann Lund
- 0:51Speaker0: she done uh an episode with me as a co-host.
- 0:55Speaker0: I'm going to have Elaine from Arcane Oracle doing a podcast with me as a co-host.
- 1:00Speaker0: And then hopefully I could do Sunset Child. The only problem I have with Sunset
- 1:04Speaker0: Child is the fact that her and I are so much alike and there's so many thoughts going on in our head.
- 1:11Speaker0: If we sat and recorded, we will probably record an entire three-week episode.
- 1:16Speaker0: So we got to kind of get it shortened down to 20 minutes.
- 1:19Speaker0: So what I have in store For tonight, I have another guest co-host,
- 1:24Speaker0: and if you've listened to the show long enough, we did an episode with Tea Leaf
- 1:29Speaker0: Readings in the Valley, and the owner is Jen, and she's really great.
- 1:34Speaker0: I really love her energy, and her show still gets a lot of listens,
- 1:38Speaker0: especially on YouTube, and that's great because that's what I wanted on the first episode, but...
- 1:45Speaker0: I did a quickie podcast on our social media Facebook page, and it was about
- 1:51Speaker0: being spiritual, supporting people, but you can still say no.
- 1:58Speaker0: And Jen kind of commented, and
- 1:59Speaker0: she said, maybe you should do a show about this. I said, maybe I should.
- 2:02Speaker0: And maybe you should be a guest on that show. So here she is,
- 2:06Speaker0: the wonderful Jen from Tea Leaf Readings in the Valley.
- 2:10Speaker0: I want to welcome back to the show, Jen. Jen, how are you?
- 2:13Speaker1: I'm good. I'm good. So that word, no, that's a pretty, it's a pretty small word,
- 2:19Speaker1: but it has like a really big meaning, right?
- 2:22Speaker1: I mean, I know from just being around in the spiritual community,
- 2:27Speaker1: you, you hear people say it's a negative thing.
- 2:33Speaker1: Like it has like some negative connotation that you shouldn't be able to say no.
- 2:38Speaker1: You should just go with the flow and say yes to everything.
- 2:41Speaker1: And that's just sometimes really
- 2:44Speaker1: not a good thing
- 2:47Speaker1: because it doesn't align with who you are with your morals
- 2:50Speaker1: your values your energy I mean
- 2:53Speaker1: sometimes the things that people think are okay for them are not okay for you
- 3:00Speaker1: and and it's okay to say no and a lot of people in the spiritual community I
- 3:04Speaker1: know um sometimes probably feel guilted into saying yes but about some things like Like,
- 3:12Speaker1: yeah, sure. Why not? And.
- 3:16Speaker0: Yeah. And when I did that quickie podcast and again, I appreciate you putting,
- 3:21Speaker0: you know, you're coming in there and wanting to talk more about this because
- 3:26Speaker0: then it opens up conversation.
- 3:27Speaker0: I certainly when I did that quickie, it was.
- 3:31Speaker0: What I had in the back of my mind at that time, there's a few people I know
- 3:35Speaker0: that work in the spiritual community and they do like Reiki healing and stuff like that.
- 3:41Speaker0: And they always say, here's your schedule. Here's, you know,
- 3:44Speaker0: we'll set you up on an appointment.
- 3:46Speaker0: And they say, if I call you to cancel because I don't, I want to be in the right
- 3:51Speaker0: frame of mind or something.
- 3:52Speaker0: And you call me if you're not in the right frame of mind. These are people that
- 3:56Speaker0: I trust more because you need to put a lot of physical, spiritual energy into this.
- 4:03Speaker0: And if you're slightly off, that's bad for your client that's coming in.
- 4:08Speaker0: So those are the people I respect because, yes, you can say no,
- 4:13Speaker0: and there's nothing wrong with that.
- 4:15Speaker0: And I'm glad you picked up on that, you know, meaning and the thoughts behind
- 4:19Speaker0: that. So, like, you listen to that. You know, what came to your mind first?
- 4:23Speaker1: Oh my brain i just went
- 4:26Speaker1: into like a million a million first off
- 4:30Speaker1: like you know the word no i mean
- 4:33Speaker1: as a woman when you say no
- 4:36Speaker1: sometimes people will think that you're you're lazy
- 4:39Speaker1: you're mean you're incompetent um
- 4:43Speaker1: that you're just the
- 4:46Speaker1: debbie downer of of anything that goes um
- 4:50Speaker1: in the spiritual um aspect
- 4:53Speaker1: when i hear no um i'm like
- 4:56Speaker1: okay that's a boundary that i'm not going to cross because
- 4:59Speaker1: they're not comfortable but when you say it
- 5:02Speaker1: as like a reader people assume they have this
- 5:05Speaker1: misconception that readers and healers are
- 5:08Speaker1: the same thing that's not true you can be a reader and just read and have your
- 5:14Speaker1: messed up life over there and still be able to help people with advice healers
- 5:21Speaker1: they're they're on a whole other level you know like able to help so
- 5:26Speaker1: i know that a lot of people when when you say no to something that someone really wants done
- 5:33Speaker1: they can kind of be aggressive and i think a lot of people want to avoid the
- 5:39Speaker1: conflict they don't want to be criticized they don't want to be um
- 5:45Speaker1: Rejected and i think a lot of spiritual people think that if they say no about
- 5:51Speaker1: something that they're gonna get um a lot of pushback and they're gonna have
- 5:56Speaker1: people saying things that maybe aren't true or are true and but in a really
- 6:02Speaker1: negative way and it makes them look
- 6:06Speaker1: not so good right
- 6:08Speaker0: And i think too um even beyond healers and readers and all a lot of time people
- 6:15Speaker0: are going to have problems or issues that they want to bring to you.
- 6:20Speaker0: And sometimes just being open and spiritual, you'll feel that and you don't
- 6:25Speaker0: want that energy around you.
- 6:28Speaker0: And in a kind way, you just say, I cannot help you.
- 6:32Speaker0: Or I don't feel like being in the middle of that or given any kind of advice
- 6:37Speaker0: because you feel that that negative energy may create negative energy within yourself.
- 6:42Speaker0: So it's not bad to turn somebody away in a decent, kind way.
- 6:47Speaker0: Listen, I understand your issues.
- 6:50Speaker0: I understand what's going on. I would love to help you.
- 6:53Speaker0: But the way I feel about the situation, I might add more negativity to it than what you think.
- 7:01Speaker0: And so that's why I even said it's fine to walk away from something like that.
- 7:06Speaker1: Yeah there's there honestly just personally like
- 7:09Speaker1: there's been times that i feel that maybe
- 7:13Speaker1: i should have said you know i
- 7:17Speaker1: i really don't know and um i
- 7:19Speaker1: know i can't really i can't really help you with this maybe think
- 7:23Speaker1: about it and talk to someone that you trust and then
- 7:26Speaker1: there's been times i've you know i've gone
- 7:30Speaker1: on maybe a little too far and maybe said or given advice that you know this
- 7:37Speaker1: was not good it wasn't good advice because i felt pressured into it and i feel
- 7:42Speaker1: like a lot of people um especially like just myself uh i sometimes want to be
- 7:47Speaker1: a people pleaser because i you know
- 7:52Speaker1: I've had had times where i'm not You know Um feeling the best so I feel like,
- 7:59Speaker1: you know, if i'm people pleasing maybe i'll get something out of it Just you know, I feel good but um
- 8:07Speaker1: That's not good on my part because it's not protecting my energy.
- 8:10Speaker1: It's not protecting my essence.
- 8:11Speaker1: It's it's giving bad Juju
- 8:15Speaker1: onto them bad essence bad energy and then they're taking it and going with that
- 8:20Speaker1: and it's it cycle not a good thing so no it's just a perfect sometimes answer
- 8:27Speaker1: for you know certain things um but like have you ever thought about like uh
- 8:37Speaker1: Social expectations people want uh like a reason as to why you're saying no
- 8:44Speaker0: Yes definitely experience that
- 8:47Speaker0: um it all comes
- 8:50Speaker0: into play i think because as a society we've learned things and we've learned
- 8:56Speaker0: them incorrectly no one's making that correction no one is saying no everybody
- 9:01Speaker0: is pleasing everybody and so that's why you get it and then these people want
- 9:06Speaker0: to read, oh, you're not doing it, but why?
- 9:09Speaker0: So yeah, it's like, I don't feel I need to give a very detailed answer on that.
- 9:16Speaker0: A lot of times I just say, it's just not the right time.
- 9:20Speaker0: That's all. It's as simple as that. It's not the right time.
- 9:23Speaker0: I can't do this right now.
- 9:25Speaker0: And that should be the only reason why. That's the only reason you should be able to give them.
- 9:31Speaker0: While back when I was doing the meditation business, the other problem was everybody
- 9:36Speaker0: wanted instantaneous results.
- 9:40Speaker0: And when I said, I cannot work with you because you are expecting something that I cannot give you.
- 9:47Speaker0: And that's when I had to say no. And that was my reasoning. If you're expecting
- 9:51Speaker0: something that I cannot provide, I am not going to work with you.
- 9:55Speaker0: And I've laid that out, round rules.
- 9:58Speaker0: And unfortunately, almost 99% of the population wants the instantaneous results.
- 10:03Speaker0: They can't fathom the fact that, hey, you're providing me a research.
- 10:07Speaker0: You should be able to do this.
- 10:08Speaker0: It's not. This is a training or this is a lifelong lesson. I could get you in the right direction.
- 10:14Speaker0: But that's what happens. And at the same time, yes, I have to say no for that.
- 10:18Speaker0: And now you, Jen, just so the audience remembers too, tell us again about you.
- 10:24Speaker0: Uh tea leaf readings in the valley give a little you know go ahead promote yourself.
- 10:30Speaker1: So tea leaf readings in the valley um so
- 10:34Speaker1: obviously i do readings um tea readings egg readings wax readings um i do egg
- 10:40Speaker1: cleanses but there's a there's a caveat with that like i i sit down and i talk
- 10:46Speaker1: to you about why you want the cleansing because a lot of people have come And
- 10:51Speaker1: have asked for and like you said instant results.
- 10:54Speaker1: They want instant results and that's not something that happens instantly with
- 10:57Speaker1: a with a cleansing but um Sometimes they might need something more like western type of medicine,
- 11:04Speaker1: you know a therapist a counselor So I really try to figure out why they want the cleanse
- 11:10Speaker1: So there's that Um, I do bone jewelry I do candles which I really love making my candles.
- 11:18Speaker1: They're they're definitely a work of art um and they're very time consuming
- 11:22Speaker1: and i put love into them when i do them i enjoy doing that um
- 11:28Speaker1: i don't know i also started doing lights recently like incredible great yeah
- 11:33Speaker1: actually this one actually sold recently but it's pretty cool wow turn it on
- 11:38Speaker1: whoa bam yeah yeah so there's that
- 11:47Speaker0: And you can find us on facebook on facebook right as far as yeah you find your
- 11:54Speaker0: tea leaf readings in the valley don't forget that tea leaf readings in the valley
- 11:58Speaker0: find jen on facebook and you'll have a lot of your stuff posted up there too
- 12:03Speaker0: and where people can find you and all.
- 12:05Speaker1: Yes i do i do have that stuff um yeah i've had some interesting uh interactions
- 12:14Speaker1: with posting that stuff recently scammers yeah we're
- 12:19Speaker0: All victims of that.
- 12:20Speaker1: It's been funny though
- 12:23Speaker1: i actually know somebody that will put um they'll be getting scammed on facebook
- 12:28Speaker1: and they'll be like beefy that's all they'll just keep writing this person and
- 12:33Speaker1: i'm just like that's funny that's great i should i should start coming up with
- 12:37Speaker1: a little little saying like that maybe not beefy but something yeah
- 12:43Speaker0: But definitely for For those that are not spamming, please visit Tea Leaf Readings in the Valley.
- 12:50Speaker0: Visit Jen's Facebook page. And you work a little bit differently.
- 12:54Speaker0: You're not working out of a shop or anything. You go to different events and all.
- 12:59Speaker1: I do go to different events. And I actually have started doing readings at my home.
- 13:05Speaker1: I'm still working towards getting that building. I have a building in the front,
- 13:10Speaker1: actually, on my property that,
- 13:14Speaker1: it's it's really nice it's an old school barn um but trying to fix that that
- 13:20Speaker1: building is going to be it might be the death of me
- 13:25Speaker0: Yeah i hear you so so then definitely people
- 13:28Speaker0: uh to help jen out uh to get that shop uh
- 13:31Speaker0: go visit her at tea leaf readings in
- 13:34Speaker0: the valley and purchase some of her stuff because i've seen it all and you know
- 13:38Speaker0: i visited her um at one event and i've seen some stuff and her and i really
- 13:43Speaker0: connected and yeah definitely try it out she's got some really beautiful especially
- 13:47Speaker0: the candles i do absolutely adore them really i do yeah i.
- 13:51Speaker1: Love doing them
- 13:52Speaker0: Yeah and the i always
- 13:55Speaker0: found the tea leaf readings themselves as uh
- 13:58Speaker0: really interesting too as well i know a lot of times you post
- 14:01Speaker0: stuff on facebook and you ask people what do you say which is always challenging
- 14:05Speaker0: because intuition comes to people in so many different ways and what one person
- 14:11Speaker0: sees somebody else don't and then there's a way to interpret them and all so
- 14:15Speaker0: i always found that interesting it's.
- 14:18Speaker1: Like looking at clouds um i i
- 14:21Speaker1: do tell people when i'm giving them a t reading and i do show them like the
- 14:24Speaker1: symbols and i tell them what they mean individually and then i tell them what
- 14:29Speaker1: they mean together and if they see anything that pops out to them that has really
- 14:33Speaker1: big significance um so if i'm giving you like a tea reading and you say you see a flower um
- 14:42Speaker1: that really has a big significance just to you like
- 14:45Speaker1: you because you saw that like it really popped out so i
- 14:49Speaker1: i try to uh give them the
- 14:52Speaker1: symbol like that information on that symbol and if i if i see something different
- 14:56Speaker1: i tell them what what i think that is as well and you know i i say if you're
- 15:02Speaker1: really feeling this and if it really popped out to you then we're gonna go with
- 15:05Speaker1: that and then you should really keep an eye out for you know x y and z
- 15:09Speaker0: So interesting yeah it draws them in,
- 15:14Speaker0: it does and i like that reading so yeah so go back i know you got some older
- 15:20Speaker0: posts and you know people could go check it out on facebook tea leaf readings
- 15:23Speaker0: in the valley look at some of the actual tea leaves and see what you see and
- 15:28Speaker0: that's you know and if it's something that interests you get a reading from Jen. It's all there.
- 15:34Speaker0: In this community, I think a lot has to do with this particular episode as far
- 15:41Speaker0: as the topic is for saying no because...
- 15:44Speaker0: There's sometimes expectations. I believe in that, you know,
- 15:47Speaker0: people want to see something and they're going to see something else and they're going to see you,
- 15:54Speaker0: you know, sometimes as giving them wrong information, but it's,
- 15:58Speaker0: it's interpretation. It really is.
- 16:00Speaker1: It is interpretation also um
- 16:04Speaker1: nothing's set in stone things change sometimes
- 16:08Speaker1: um just knowing something from
- 16:11Speaker1: a from your cup i mean could change everything around
- 16:14Speaker1: into a different direction for you um but it
- 16:19Speaker1: is nice to just talk sometimes people just need that actually
- 16:22Speaker1: too i mean just to you know you know
- 16:26Speaker1: when they're done doing like when i'm done reading their leaves they they just
- 16:29Speaker1: want to talk about the situations that are going on in their life and
- 16:32Speaker1: sometimes just sitting there and listening and
- 16:35Speaker1: you know being just reassuring is is
- 16:38Speaker1: a good thing not that i'm like a therapist or a
- 16:41Speaker1: counselor i'm definitely not trained in that but sometimes the best conversations
- 16:46Speaker1: you'll have with somebody is someone that you don't really know very well at
- 16:49Speaker1: all they have nothing in you know you know nothing in stake with your life so
- 16:56Speaker1: just talking to them and getting advice from them sometimes just
- 17:02Speaker1: is the extra step they needed you know um whether it's leaving such situation
- 17:07Speaker1: or you know extending an olive branch to somebody just just being there and
- 17:13Speaker1: listening actually is a big help
- 17:15Speaker0: That does it it relates again because yeah everything you're right hannah and
- 17:21Speaker0: i talk about that all the time yeah we're not doctors we're not licensed therapists
- 17:24Speaker0: however if you came to us and spoken to us,
- 17:27Speaker0: we may connect on some level. You may pick up some advice.
- 17:32Speaker0: You may be able to say, oh, wow, I could totally relate with you.
- 17:35Speaker0: And it does. It helps. So spiritually, whether it be tarot cards,
- 17:39Speaker0: oracle cards, whether it be tea leaf readings, whatever it may be,
- 17:43Speaker0: it's going to give you a little bit of guidance, some sort of intuition.
- 17:46Speaker0: And again, yeah, it's not immediate results, these things that we see,
- 17:52Speaker0: they may come true 10 years down the road, or they may appear 10 minutes later. That we don't know.
- 18:01Speaker0: All we could do is give you a reading, give you the situation on how it applies and what we feel.
- 18:07Speaker0: And like you had said, you allow other people to look and what do you see?
- 18:13Speaker0: Which is very different from how most people you know, work,
- 18:16Speaker0: whether it be tea leaves or even tarot cards.
- 18:19Speaker0: I never even thought turning a tarot card around saying, what do you interpret?
- 18:23Speaker0: You know? So that's interesting because now you're giving people a look into
- 18:27Speaker0: their own lives and maybe that can help the reading.
- 18:32Speaker0: That's very interesting. And I like that idea.
- 18:34Speaker1: It also just helps them in general. Like if you think about it,
- 18:37Speaker1: taking control of your life or taking control of certain situations.
- 18:41Speaker1: So like, you know, people that come to to tarot readers to um you know oracle
- 18:47Speaker1: to tea leaf reading to to any type of reading they want answers they're looking
- 18:52Speaker1: for something they're in a vulnerable state um
- 18:57Speaker1: So sometimes just sitting there and listening to them when they're done having that reading
- 19:03Speaker1: Really helps them and also when they tell you what they see in the cup It really
- 19:06Speaker1: helps them feel like they have some type of control or You know have a good
- 19:11Speaker1: stance on where to go from there and it just it helps them in a way, you know
- 19:16Speaker1: And it's really hard to explain because every situation and every reading is
- 19:21Speaker1: different But it gives them a sense of self I would say In a way
- 19:26Speaker0: Right yeah i like that
- 19:28Speaker0: idea and that's really good and this is why i like to promote
- 19:32Speaker0: you as well i think you have a very great idea
- 19:35Speaker0: and a very good aura about you where yeah i
- 19:38Speaker0: think some of your readings would be able to help people so again tea leaf readings
- 19:42Speaker0: in the valley on facebook very easy to find so definitely go ahead and check
- 19:47Speaker0: her out jen i do appreciate you coming on the show being a co-host with me because
- 19:52Speaker0: i know it's been a big change for me and i'm changing up formats It's almost every day,
- 19:57Speaker0: but I also appreciate the fact that you were able to listen to my quickie podcast
- 20:00Speaker0: and get something out of it. That's what I'm always hoping.
- 20:03Speaker0: Cause that's exactly what we're hoping when it comes to whether it be our clients or whatnot.
- 20:08Speaker1: Oh, it always gets my brain turning. Anytime I see something,
- 20:10Speaker1: um, like, like that, it just gets my brain turning.
- 20:14Speaker1: Like, um, I thought about it actually, like from when I've seen it till now.
- 20:18Speaker1: And I'm just like that, that word now just has like such a big,
- 20:22Speaker1: a big meaning for a lot of people. And I think it really, um,
- 20:28Speaker1: it really applies to, to, to women, but I know guys too.
- 20:31Speaker1: I mean, cause I'm not saying that guys aren't people pleasers,
- 20:34Speaker1: but I know by nature that women are, are people pleasers. And, um.
- 20:40Speaker1: You know i think that letting them know just women in general like it's okay
- 20:45Speaker1: to say no and and i know that uh sometimes that that word no has like that connotation of being negative
- 20:53Speaker1: but there's another thing have you ever heard the saying no means no absolutely yep so
- 21:01Speaker1: and that's another part where my brain went and and the stories i've seen lately
- 21:05Speaker1: just on facebook where women feel like they can't tell guys no about their number.
- 21:11Speaker1: And I think that, you know, it should just be standard when someone shows you
- 21:16Speaker1: body language that they're not interested, they say no, like really just go with it, just say, okay.
- 21:23Speaker1: But it seems like lately I've seen a lot of women posting of guys just not taking no for an answer,
- 21:32Speaker1: like getting phone numbers um taking them
- 21:34Speaker1: out i mean i've seen a lot of that recently so when i saw that no i was just
- 21:40Speaker1: like that's kind of where my brain went also and i was like you know that's
- 21:44Speaker1: kind of that's a horrible thing for that to just you know just one word to make
- 21:49Speaker1: your brain go into that direction i'm like oh yeah i don't want that and
- 21:54Speaker0: I do find it funny too like no means no it's very difficult to sit here and
- 21:57Speaker0: comprehend the fact that there needs to be an explanation behind it No is no.
- 22:02Speaker0: It's very weird to me that we actually have to explain it and spell it out for
- 22:09Speaker0: such a very simple two-letter word. It's really odd.
- 22:13Speaker0: And this is where we are as humanity, unfortunately, where we should be well
- 22:18Speaker0: more advanced into that. Once we hear the word no, that's it.
- 22:24Speaker0: It should be end a sentence, done, a simple thank you anyway,
- 22:28Speaker0: and walk away. It's very simple.
- 22:32Speaker1: Yeah, I mean, I think, and I'm not sure if everyone feels this way,
- 22:37Speaker1: but when I've heard the word no, and it was really something I wanted to do
- 22:41Speaker1: or had my heart like just really set on it, I kind of felt in a way that they
- 22:47Speaker1: weren't saying no to that.
- 22:49Speaker1: They were saying no to me, like in a rejection kind of way, like I was just
- 22:53Speaker1: no good or, you know, I don't like you.
- 22:59Speaker1: You know what I mean? and and i know that sounds kind of nutty right i mean i
- 23:06Speaker0: Mean to me it don't maybe to others it does you know but i get where you're coming from with that.
- 23:12Speaker1: I get why some people take that
- 23:15Speaker1: offensively like especially like in a work setting especially
- 23:18Speaker1: in work setting when you have like really good ideas and
- 23:21Speaker1: you present them and you've worked really hard on it
- 23:24Speaker1: and you were like this is going to be a go like this is going to be a definite
- 23:27Speaker1: yes and then everyone kind of like you know tells their little talking thing
- 23:32Speaker1: and and they turn around they're like no the idea is kind of interesting but
- 23:37Speaker1: i don't i don't see it working out it can always like that's big no and it can
- 23:42Speaker1: be rejection yeah that's
- 23:44Speaker0: What you're being rejected you know and it removes a lot of confidence from you you.
- 23:52Speaker1: Know so
- 23:53Speaker0: I think that's why too we it's hard to
- 23:56Speaker0: accept no at times yeah we
- 23:59Speaker0: need to be better though you know we need to prove right
- 24:02Speaker0: point as far as you know the workplace and our ideas and
- 24:05Speaker0: all nothing wrong with not giving up you
- 24:08Speaker0: know no shouldn't be an end-all be-all at times you know depending on the situation
- 24:14Speaker0: no sometimes encourages you to move forward and get better and better yourself
- 24:21Speaker0: so yeah so no can take on two different meanings then you know.
- 24:26Speaker1: Right and i think um i think the whole no with like feeling rejected i think um
- 24:38Speaker1: That's why people in society want that reason as
- 24:41Speaker1: to why people are saying no So they can actually kind of
- 24:44Speaker1: recover that rejection feeling So I
- 24:47Speaker1: can't fault people for wanting explanations But sometimes
- 24:50Speaker1: when you're the person saying no You feel like
- 24:53Speaker1: that should just be enough I should not have to explain it
- 24:56Speaker1: And I can see both sides with
- 24:59Speaker1: the rejection part of it And wanting the explanation Maybe
- 25:03Speaker1: to better myself But also just to reassure myself in a way that it's not it's
- 25:10Speaker1: not a personal thing it's more that i just you know didn't really hit the the
- 25:16Speaker1: mark on you know it could be better in a way right
- 25:20Speaker0: And i'll give you another little analogy when i met you um and we were at that
- 25:26Speaker0: uh festival you know vendor event uh you were not the only person i I approached,
- 25:34Speaker0: I approached many different people and I was getting either a yes or I was getting
- 25:40Speaker0: a no, or I didn't approach some people just because I felt it was going to be a no.
- 25:46Speaker0: So I did make contact with some people and it was a good, you know,
- 25:51Speaker0: context. Some of them were flat out.
- 25:53Speaker0: No, I don't want to do your show or I'll think about it.
- 25:57Speaker0: And, you know, and then I had you, it, it does boil down really to energies.
- 26:03Speaker0: And I told you this, you know, when I've talked to you about doing this episode
- 26:07Speaker0: with me, so we had a connection anyway.
- 26:10Speaker0: So you feel that connection. That's where I think the no or the yes is going
- 26:14Speaker0: to come into play, depending on what's being asked.
- 26:19Speaker0: You know, Mike, if I was asking you, hey, listen, after this episode,
- 26:22Speaker0: I need you to help move my entire house.
- 26:25Speaker0: You know, you may give me a no on that. You know, so it's.
- 26:30Speaker1: Definitely going to be a no.
- 26:31Speaker0: Right right you see and that
- 26:34Speaker0: even though that's rejection at the same
- 26:37Speaker0: time you know you can understand that
- 26:40Speaker0: because there's a connection like we're not
- 26:43Speaker0: you know complete strangers we
- 26:46Speaker0: kind of you know mesh energy wise and
- 26:49Speaker0: i that's big to me many people don't realize
- 26:53Speaker0: the differences in energies but yeah that's how
- 26:55Speaker0: we connected we connected and it was just a matter of me
- 26:58Speaker0: asking would you like to come on an episode you
- 27:01Speaker0: know with uh me and you
- 27:04Speaker0: know promote yourself and that's all it was and
- 27:07Speaker0: so yeah did I get a lot of no's I did whether
- 27:10Speaker0: it was because they were not confident enough
- 27:13Speaker0: or whether they just didn't trust me it didn't matter I didn't take it as rejection
- 27:18Speaker0: I just kept walking around kept asking until I had enough people that I knew
- 27:22Speaker0: was going to be good there were actually some people that said yes and then
- 27:26Speaker0: for the conversation I was like I'm not feeling the energy so I gave them a no,
- 27:33Speaker0: And that happens too.
- 27:36Speaker1: That is true. But you saying that, like, it didn't bother you.
- 27:41Speaker1: Like, my husband, I asked him, I was like, you know, how do you feel when people
- 27:46Speaker1: say no to you? He's like, it's a no, and I just move on.
- 27:50Speaker1: And I'm like, you don't feel like, you know, like when you have to say no,
- 27:55Speaker1: do you feel guilty about it? And he's like, not really.
- 27:58Speaker1: Not really at all. When I say no, I just, I don't have any, I don't want to do it.
- 28:02Speaker1: And and i'm like you know
- 28:05Speaker1: when i say no i i get this big guilty feeling
- 28:08Speaker1: like just a like a not like i'm like should i have said yes and just seeing
- 28:14Speaker1: where it went and and i have to wonder if it's like a guy and a like a male
- 28:20Speaker1: and female thing you know like do guys feel guilty about saying no to certain situations?
- 28:27Speaker0: It could be. It all depends on the ego, really.
- 28:33Speaker0: I don't think there's much of a difference between male and female.
- 28:36Speaker0: Our egos, regardless of whom we are, that can get in the way.
- 28:42Speaker0: And depending how focused on our ego, that no could be a rejection.
- 28:48Speaker0: So some people just see it as a no, and that's all it is, and it does not affect them. And any way.
- 28:55Speaker0: But again, I don't think it has anything to do with your sex.
- 28:58Speaker0: It has to do more with the ego.
- 29:00Speaker0: And that's really what it is. And maybe some, you know, maybe the ego affects
- 29:05Speaker0: men more because I think society wise, that's the way it was.
- 29:09Speaker0: And that's the way people are raised sometimes.
- 29:13Speaker0: But I don't know. And the difficult thing is I can only answer from a standpoint of a man.
- 29:18Speaker1: So right again
- 29:20Speaker0: But i use ego for everything for anybody because we all are kind of one in that sense.
- 29:26Speaker1: I think if you don't feel bad about it
- 29:29Speaker1: i think you have a really good self like a
- 29:33Speaker1: balance like you're you're very self aware and
- 29:37Speaker1: that that goes with the like ego thing like you were saying like because for
- 29:41Speaker1: me like this is how i think of ego i don't think it's inherently bad but i think
- 29:47Speaker1: that you need to have self-awareness and humility to be able to balance that
- 29:52Speaker1: out to maintain a pretty much self you know yourself
- 29:58Speaker1: Awareness and just be in the middle and I think if you're like mega Like the
- 30:02Speaker1: mega and like the the little like I would say but like just the little ego I
- 30:08Speaker1: think those bring out really negative traits in people.
- 30:11Speaker1: So like if you say rejection, that'd be like a Something like a little ego they
- 30:16Speaker1: would take that very personal as rejection mega ego They'd probably take it as a mega rejection,
- 30:22Speaker1: too And it would probably probably take it further though like an obnoxious
- 30:26Speaker1: type of way if that makes any sense
- 30:29Speaker0: Makes tons of sense yeah it makes tons of sense to me so Jen again I want to thank you,
