- 0:02I don't know why I feel calm but hesitant and
- 0:10a little unsure. But I'm going to go with it.
- 0:17I am feeling like the theme or the question of
- 0:24today is specifically, have you apologized? I'm
- 0:31not going to do a video recording of this. I've
- 0:34already just taken a picture, which I will upload
- 0:36to itastelikemagic .com. And then I am going
- 0:44to share what came up for me as it relates to
- 0:50the topic of apologizing, why it matters and
- 0:55the times that I have apologized to people. Who
- 1:00and why? You're listening to FAA FO with Courtney.
- 1:05Available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon
- 1:08Music, iHeartRadio, Pandora, and wherever you
- 1:12get your podcasts. Good morning. My name is Courtney,
- 1:17also known as Cece in Brazil. And today is Friday.
- 1:22Friday what? September 11th, 2026. And as I mentioned,
- 1:30I won't be doing a video recording of this, but
- 1:33if you want to see the layout or the spread or
- 1:36the picture, you can go to itastelikemagic .com
- 1:40and search for today's date. So what you are
- 1:44listening to now is kind of what I'm being moved
- 1:49to talk about. And as I was getting ready to
- 1:53record this section. Even though I don't need
- 1:57to look at the screen to record, I was reminded
- 2:01or I just needed to turn up the brightness on
- 2:06my tablet. And then the sun came out a little
- 2:08bit and it looked a little brighter. And that
- 2:11took me back to the first word that I got today
- 2:14when I sat down at my desk, which was timing.
- 2:17Because there was a lot of perfect timing things
- 2:20that were happening for me this morning. With
- 2:26that being said, let me just kind of go through
- 2:28the words and maybe some of it will resonate
- 2:30with you. So the first word is timing. And then
- 2:34I got early birdie. And then I pull a handwritten
- 2:40note card that has earth on it. Oh, and then
- 2:44smaller cards that I put smaller handwritten
- 2:48notes that I placed on there. And it's funny
- 2:50because I just noticed the sun. The sun, I sat
- 2:54above earth, and then the month of September,
- 2:56the number 17 through 18, the number 31, the
- 3:01number 5. To the right of that, I have the words
- 3:05waiting, silence, and close enough. On the left
- 3:09-hand side of the earth card, I have rot, paperwork,
- 3:14neighbors, clear audience, and damage is done.
- 3:21Underneath the earth card, I wrote out of place.
- 3:25And then I have the number 737. And then the
- 3:30handwritten playing cards. I have the word transmuting
- 3:35on the jack of diamonds. And then I have the
- 3:40word dance written on the queen of spades. And
- 3:45then on the four of clubs. I have written, have
- 3:49you apologized? Now that I'm talking, I don't
- 3:55normally read the suits or anything. I just use
- 3:58the cards because that's all I had at the time.
- 4:00And so I'm noticing the four of clubs. The clubs
- 4:07are making me draw my attention back to earth.
- 4:13But let's... well you sit with that if you want
- 4:19let's just focus on have you apologize so as
- 4:22I sat with that I was like yeah I have and it's
- 4:26interesting though because I know I mean people
- 4:30have assumptions about people and people gossip
- 4:33and people might feel like oh someone has done
- 4:38me wrong or oh someone we throw the word narcissist
- 4:42around we throw the word self -centered around.
- 4:46We throw all these different labels around towards
- 4:50people based off of our personal experience with
- 4:53them. And I'm not saying that as a judgment that
- 4:57it should or shouldn't be done. I'm just kind
- 4:58of giving some context. And so as it relates
- 5:01to me, I know some people in their personal experience
- 5:05with me or dealings with me, they may feel like
- 5:09I don't care or that I'm dismissive or that I'm
- 5:12very quick to cut someone off or cancel them,
- 5:19whatever words that are trending right now as
- 5:22it relates to protecting our peace and our boundaries.
- 5:26We're not even always protecting because I think
- 5:31we need to first learn sometimes that we need
- 5:34stronger boundaries and then when we decide on
- 5:37what those boundaries are, which can vary at
- 5:41different levels for different people. I think
- 5:43boundaries are something that should be fluid,
- 5:46and also boundaries can vary from person to person.
- 5:54So I may have a certain boundary with one person
- 5:57and may not have that same boundary with another
- 6:02person. And I know why I do that, but I think
- 6:07people fail to realize that's a thing. The reason
- 6:12why I may have a certain boundary with one person
- 6:16and a different one and not the same boundary
- 6:19with another person for me comes down to how
- 6:23I feel about them energetically, which isn't
- 6:30always something that's on the conscious level,
- 6:35but as I sit and think about it now, right? In
- 6:40the end, as it relates to now getting back to
- 6:43apologizing, there are some people I will apologize
- 6:49or have apologized to for maybe the same thing
- 6:54that I have done to someone else, but I didn't
- 6:58apologize to the other person. I feel like this
- 7:04is not resonating with someone, but how... But
- 7:08it possibly is giving someone a blueprint on
- 7:19how they may be able to more efficiently navigate
- 7:23relationships. And oddly, one of the people that
- 7:31I'm going to talk about that I have apologized
- 7:33to is not someone that is... In my immediate
- 7:39circle out. I mean, I don't really have anybody
- 7:42in my immediate circle, but they are not someone
- 7:45that I am even in contact with. When I decided
- 7:50or was moved to be obedient and to apologize
- 7:53to them, I literally had to go and find them.
- 7:56It was like. Wasn't even my stuff, but let me
- 8:01just jump in. So. There are three different stories
- 8:05that I'm going to tell as it relates to apology.
- 8:08The first one is about an apology that I had
- 8:15to. OK, I'm being positive. I'm being moved to
- 8:20pause first. So why my apologies matter and what
- 8:25might that have to do with early birdie? I think
- 8:30we all like to feel like we've never harmed anyone
- 8:33and that some people feel like they're the victim
- 8:38of everything or everyone. I once told a story
- 8:42about how it's interesting that a lot of quote
- 8:45unquote woke and spiritual girlies and just people
- 8:47right now are like, oh my God, someone did this
- 8:49to me and oh my blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 8:52And I'm like, I grew up tall and dark during
- 8:55an era where that was not an end thing. and was
- 9:00teased about that right and not that I want or
- 9:08expect an apology I was just basically saying
- 9:11how where are those people now have they sat
- 9:15with teasing others right or do they just dismiss
- 9:22it as oh that's just what kids do yet complain
- 9:27about being bullied in the workplace or so on
- 9:30and so forth. And maybe they've just grown up
- 9:32to be the bullies. Again, I'm not playing the
- 9:35victim. This is not what I am talking about.
- 9:37It's just more of when we have either been moved
- 9:45and guided to apologize to people or we genuinely
- 9:50feel like we need to apologize to someone. Even
- 9:55if they've never complained or even if they felt
- 9:57like you haven't done anything wrong, what is
- 10:01the return on investment for apologizing? So
- 10:04I think we just came or still in this energy
- 10:07of Saturn and retrograde, you know, and I'm just
- 10:12going to simplify it. And a lot of people are
- 10:14looking to get their lick back or their karma
- 10:17for people who have wronged them. And, you know,
- 10:19I think they say Saturn is like the daddy. And
- 10:23is going to sit some folks down, right? And not
- 10:27even just the people that have wronged us, just
- 10:30all of us. And what if we did the thing before
- 10:37the energy called for it? What if we are, were
- 10:44the early birdies and did the thing before the
- 10:50energetic? happened? What if we just did it because
- 10:56we could? And I think part of me got to thinking
- 11:01about this topic this morning also because I
- 11:07was thinking about people who intentionally are
- 11:09like feel like it's their role to teach someone
- 11:17a lesson. The Who does she think she is? I'm
- 11:22going to show her or I'm going to intentionally
- 11:25try to sabotage them because they think they're
- 11:30all that or they did this to me or and I'm innocent
- 11:35about everything in life, right? So now I need
- 11:38to seek revenge or it's my duty to humble them.
- 11:43And I'm like, who the fuck do you think you are?
- 11:47How much envy and hatred and animosity has been
- 11:52sitting, brewing in you? Like, do you wake up
- 11:57every morning just angry at people? Like, when
- 12:02do you start plotting to get revenge or get your
- 12:10lick back? And are they the root of a person's
- 12:16animosity? And I couldn't see where or how some
- 12:25people might feel like, who does she think she
- 12:29is? Or who does he think he is? Who do they think
- 12:32they are? I think people forget, though, that
- 12:38some people are just being themselves. And instead
- 12:41of being mad at the person, they need to be mad
- 12:44at God or whatever saint, deity, orisha gods
- 12:48that they believe in or worship or whatever and
- 12:50pray to. Why are you not angry at the divine
- 12:56creator or creators who created this person?
- 13:00And are you the... What is the word? Not the
- 13:06missionary, but the it's not the martyr either.
- 13:11Oh, I can't think of the word right now. But
- 13:13are you the one that has been given the mission
- 13:16to hand out justice here on Earth? But so that's
- 13:24some of where this is coming from. Now, what
- 13:27does that have to do? Have you apologize? I think.
- 13:33For me, it may look like I'm lucky or I am fortunate
- 13:37or I have been able to dance around, bypass misfortune,
- 13:44which isn't true at all, right? I'm great at
- 13:48transmuting things and turning lemonade. Well.
- 13:53That's a powerful thing, right? The saying actually
- 13:56goes, making lemonade out of lemons. But if you
- 13:58can turn lemonade into lemons, that's even some
- 14:02more powerful shit. So yes, I can turn lemonade
- 14:04into lemons also. So there's that. But I have
- 14:10also apologized in advance before someone has
- 14:16made it clear to me or brought it to my attention
- 14:20that they felt. That I have harmed them in my
- 14:24quiet and solitude time. I think about a lot
- 14:26of different things, right? So back to who I
- 14:29have apologized for and to. I have apologized
- 14:33to someone. I don't know if I want to say on
- 14:37behalf of my father because it didn't start out
- 14:40like that. It literally was, I was living it
- 14:42for the mind of my business. And one day it was
- 14:45just like pick up the phone and apologize to
- 14:47this person for what. They said that your father
- 14:52did many, many, many years ago. And I remember
- 14:56the incident, but I really couldn't remember
- 14:58if I ever acknowledged or addressed or apologized.
- 15:02And that was really, and it wasn't initially
- 15:05when I called, I didn't apologize on behalf of
- 15:08my father. I guess it was more of, as an adult
- 15:14now, when it happened, I was much younger, teenager,
- 15:18I believe, maybe college. But I remember thinking
- 15:22in the moment where I was moved to apologize
- 15:25was, I don't know if I ever properly handled
- 15:29the conversation when it arose to me. And I didn't
- 15:33want to risk not having had the opportunity to
- 15:38do that. And because it just came out of nowhere
- 15:41on some random day, I was like, yo. But the challenge
- 15:45was I didn't want to. I didn't want to be the
- 15:50person either to reopen old wounds in the event
- 15:54that it was something that the person had healed
- 15:58and moved forward from. But long story short,
- 16:02I was obedient and followed my intuition. I located
- 16:08the person. I asked if we could speak. They agreed.
- 16:13And I explained. that I understood if they didn't
- 16:19want to discuss it. But I also explained why
- 16:22I was making the call at that point in time.
- 16:25And it ended up being an amazing conversation.
- 16:28They understood where I came from. They actually
- 16:32took a burden off of me by reminding me that
- 16:38it had been handled. And I don't know. There
- 16:45are very few spans of my life that I don't remember
- 16:48certain things. And that time period, I do not
- 16:54remember a lot of what happened or what was discussed
- 16:57or how it was handled, how I responded. And then
- 17:03there's another era of my life that is a complete
- 17:07and total blank. And that was a very traumatic
- 17:11time of my life. And, but, so in the conversation
- 17:19with that person, I apologize, especially also
- 17:24because I was, and I say was not because it changed
- 17:31or anything. My father is dead and no longer
- 17:33on this earth. I apologized because, well, here's
- 17:41the thing, right? That is the only scenario or
- 17:44situation that I know about. Could my father
- 17:46have done some harm or damage to other people?
- 17:49Possibly. I'm sure. I don't know. I've never
- 17:52heard of anything else. I only knew specifically
- 17:54from firsthand conversation about that particular
- 17:58incident, right? Yeah, so that was one time that
- 18:03I apologized. And that person and I, this happened
- 18:05a few years ago, that person and I have only
- 18:07spoken once since then. Not because any hard
- 18:10feelings or animosity, it's just because after,
- 18:13you know, our younger formative years, we just
- 18:16went on our separate ways. It was a childhood
- 18:19friend. So there's that. Could I say that maybe
- 18:27people, could I say maybe, Can we rack up positive
- 18:34karmic or dharma points by doing something in
- 18:38advance, even if we don't feel like we need to
- 18:41or if it was our burden? Maybe. Who knows? Am
- 18:45I withdrawing from my positive karmic and dharma
- 18:50bank right now? Possibly. It feels that way sometimes
- 18:54because I've definitely had to do some, I've
- 18:57definitely done some things that I didn't have
- 18:59to do that have been very, very difficult. Next
- 19:04person I'm going to talk about is my son. And
- 19:11I'm not going to get into all the details. We
- 19:13didn't have a tumultuous relationship or anything
- 19:15like that. It just had to do with custody and
- 19:17things of that nature. And one day I was just
- 19:21like. I may cause, I may be the cause of this
- 19:27child, my son, our son, this person, this young
- 19:32man now, of needing therapy. And I can't undo
- 19:37that. Do I feel like, I mean, it's just a matter
- 19:43of like, I don't know, right? And it can go either
- 19:48way. But either way. Let me go ahead and initiate
- 19:53the conversation and to start out with look.
- 19:56I am sorry if anything, any choices I made or
- 20:01didn't make have caused you any emotional turmoil
- 20:05and has or may cause you to want to seek counseling
- 20:11or therapy. Firstly, I want you to know that
- 20:15should anything happen to me, you always have.
- 20:19my circle of women that I trust who understand
- 20:23my personality that you can always reach out
- 20:27to for support if you don't feel like going to
- 20:30a counselor or something like that. But also,
- 20:33you know, I'm just deeply, I take full responsibility
- 20:41for any emotional turmoil that I may have caused.
- 20:48And of course, none of it was intentional or
- 20:50whatever, just my decisions, our decisions, our
- 20:54personal decisions, the boundaries we make to
- 20:56protect our peace and our sanity may adversely
- 21:00affect our children. And not everyone understands
- 21:04that. And even to this day, even though I've
- 21:06apologized to him, I would not do anything differently
- 21:09because I've told this story before. For me to
- 21:12tell my child that the only thing that I have
- 21:14ever wanted for him to be was to be happy meant
- 21:17that I had to lead by example. Meant that I had
- 21:22to stand on my words and stand on business even
- 21:25as a mother. Even as a mother who... understood
- 21:30that society didn't understand the choices that
- 21:33I was making based off of their own rules and
- 21:39paradigms or whatever, right? So I call my son
- 21:42and he listens. And then he says, then he says,
- 21:48oh, I've already worked. It was, he's a Capricorn.
- 21:53Very matter of factly, he was just like, oh,
- 21:57I've already worked through that. And that literally
- 22:01brought me to tears because it was just like,
- 22:04wow. I'm stuttering because I still don't really
- 22:08know how to process that, right? Part of me made
- 22:11me feel even more guilty, but then I understood
- 22:13also why it was put on my heart. And he's just
- 22:17like, yeah, like, okay, love you. Is that it?
- 22:20You got to go. And something, anything may come
- 22:25up later on. Either way, it is what it is. But
- 22:29that was also, I'm hearing that saying, you know,
- 22:33a heart as light as a feather. I think that relieved
- 22:35some things that probably were sitting with me
- 22:38that I had suppressed. And a lot of times we
- 22:40don't want to admit. It's easy to hide away the
- 22:44things that we may be feeling guilty about, even
- 22:47if we don't really feel guilty about it, but
- 22:49we know that society or the person might judge
- 22:53us. Last but not least. This is a petty one.
- 22:57And this is the one that's more recent. So the
- 23:02most recent person that I have apologized to
- 23:06wasn't even like, how do I explain this? So there
- 23:14is some backstory. The backstory is the person
- 23:18that I most recently apologized to was a man.
- 23:21It wasn't even a man that I'm in a relationship
- 23:23with or whatever. And there was a lot of petty,
- 23:26stupid mind games that were, that was happening.
- 23:29Not something that I have ever done in my life,
- 23:31but I was like, fuck it, throw caution to the
- 23:34wind or whatever, do it for the plot. What am
- 23:36I to learn out of this or whatever? So I engaged
- 23:39a lot longer in the pettiness, the back and forth
- 23:43than I ever, I'm not going to even say than I
- 23:48ever have is because I've never been. In the
- 23:52building of a relationship, the process of getting
- 23:55to know someone, or any type of relationship
- 23:59like that where there's that type of petty. I've
- 24:02heard people talk about that shit, but no. I'm
- 24:06not for it. But I have, in that situation recently,
- 24:10I engaged in the petty. No, I won't say I didn't.
- 24:15I allowed it to entertain me. It was entertaining
- 24:17as I sit on the other side of the world and I
- 24:22need some entertainment. And anyway, so one day
- 24:28I wake up and I see something that they posted
- 24:33and I was like, oh, that's new. Didn't know that.
- 24:39And it hurt my feelings a little bit. Or a lot.
- 24:43Only because I think I was surprised. I don't
- 24:46know why I was surprised, though. I really wasn't
- 24:49surprised. I think seeing the thing that I had
- 24:52a feeling about bothered me more, right? So it's
- 24:58like we can consider something, but it's not
- 25:01until we actually see the thing. And I've said
- 25:04this before, right? I've talked about how it's
- 25:06easy to feel like we've healed. from something
- 25:09when we remove ourselves from the situation.
- 25:12And a perfect example of this is like how sometimes
- 25:15we think we can heal, have healed from a situation
- 25:17or people or scenario or an environment until
- 25:20damn Facebook shows us a memory or suggests the
- 25:24person or whatever as a friend. And you're just
- 25:28like, ooh, that stunk. I'm not as healed as I
- 25:31thought I was. I had just removed myself or ignored
- 25:34the thing, right? Which... It's perfectly fine,
- 25:38but avoidance and healing are two different things.
- 25:41But hey, I'm not going to get into that right
- 25:44now. Anyway, so I see the thing and my emotions
- 25:48started to boil. And then I got calm and I was
- 25:52like, no, this is a test. And so I just responded
- 25:56and I was like, in a positive, very positive
- 25:59way. And at the time, I don't think. I felt like
- 26:05they did it to hurt me. I don't even think that
- 26:08crossed my mind. I just knew that I needed to
- 26:11respond in a very diplomatic type of way. So
- 26:17time goes on. And when I say time, right, like
- 26:21a couple of hours seems like years. So but a
- 26:26couple of days go by or whatever. Right. And
- 26:29then. As I was kind of like going back and forth
- 26:32through my emotions, part of me was like, I'm
- 26:35not as bothered as I thought I was. And then
- 26:36I would have a couple of hours later and I'm
- 26:38like, yo, that shit hurt. That stung. And then
- 26:41I would allow myself to laugh and then I would
- 26:43allow myself to cry. And maybe like 72 hours
- 26:46or whatever in it, going back and forth of like
- 26:49emotions, proud of myself because of the way
- 26:52I handled it. And then I'm like, no, but that
- 26:54stung. Like, oh, ouch. I care more than I thought.
- 27:01So, around the three -day mark, I realized, but
- 27:05you did the same fucking thing. You really tried
- 27:09to make him jealous. And I had to eat that. I
- 27:12had to literally own that. Now, it's one thing
- 27:15to sit in our knowing and to be able to acknowledge
- 27:21that within ourselves. But then what do we do?
- 27:26Do we have enough? There's growth in us. I hear
- 27:32somebody, I hear someone right now saying, nah,
- 27:35fuck that. I'm petty. And yeah, I get it. But
- 27:39just in that particular moment, I was like, you
- 27:41know what? I have to recognize that I did the
- 27:43same shit and I had to apologize. So I sent a
- 27:47message and I was like, you know what? I intentionally
- 27:52tried to make you jealous before. And yeah. So
- 28:00that's another time that I had to kind of sit
- 28:03with being uncomfortable and apologizing. And
- 28:11I think it's hard sometimes because it's like,
- 28:18oh, I'm giving that person a win. Like they won
- 28:21that round. And that may be true, but my heart
- 28:24was lighter. It was off my conscious. Adding
- 28:28more to my pot. All right. So two things I've
- 28:33talked about early birdie. Have you apologize?
- 28:37And last but not least, when I was writing my
- 28:41website on the table here, which is FAAFO .APP,
- 28:46which stands for, yes, you are correct. Fuck
- 28:50around and find out. I was like, move to come
- 28:54back to that. And I said, but that's different.
- 28:58Sometimes we don't read it. We don't say it.
- 29:01We don't feel into how many different ways that
- 29:03can mean. Most people use that as something external,
- 29:07right? Oh, they fucked around and about to find
- 29:09out. True. But what happens when we fuck around
- 29:15and find out when we do the thing, when we apologize
- 29:20first, when we apologize? for something to someone
- 29:24that hasn't even expressed feeling like they
- 29:27have harmed us. So I guess the topic of this
- 29:32is, are you willing to F around and find out
- 29:39with yourself and your own karma? And in closing,
- 29:46I want to say that I use that word very lightly.
- 29:51It's not one of my favorite words, but we're
- 29:54going to keep this under 30 minutes. Ciao, ciao
- 29:56for now.
