Latest / 49ers Rush Podcast with John Chapman / 49ers 2026 Roster Countdown #86-82
Transcript
- 0:02[SPEAKER_00]: time for the 49ers rush podcast.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_00]: And here's your host, John Chapman.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_01]: What is going on, faithful?
- 0:37[SPEAKER_01]: It is so great to be with you guys this weekend.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_01]: And we got another episode of one of my favorites, continuing the 2026 49ers roster countdown.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_01]: Now today we've got numbers 86 all the way to up to 82.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_01]: And if
- 0:51[SPEAKER_01]: This year, first time with us for the roster series, we used to do one individual episode per player.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_01]: This offseason had to kind of shrink it down a little bit, so we're still doing our countdown the same way that we always do it.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_01]: We're just doing five players in one episode, just a little bit more efficiency.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_01]: This weekend my son graduated yesterday, which is freaking awesome the youngest way to go Michael.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_01]: We got family in town all kinds of stuff And so it just trying to make sure we get through our content in the offseason like we always do because I don't want to short change anything But it kind of had to move to stuff around so very fun episode today and
- 1:26[SPEAKER_01]: You know, a lot of these guys again, if you've never been with us for a roster countdown series, we're trying to achieve two main things.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_01]: One, we want you to know about every single player on the team.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_01]: That way, whenever you're getting a training camp report, you're watching preseason games, the 53-man roster countdown takes place.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_01]: You know everybody.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_01]: you're going to understand who jersey number four is you're going to understand who wears jersey number 50 you're going to understand their backstory what it is about in that made them make the 91 man roster and compete for the 53.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_01]: So that's that's number one and number two we want to give everybody their moment to shine.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_01]: This is a dream come true for a lot of these players and sadly
- 2:07[SPEAKER_01]: this is as far as some players will make it in their NFL journey.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_01]: So we want to make sure that we give respect where respect is due.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_01]: These players have worked their entire lives to get to this point.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_01]: And we just want to make sure I know we would do way better if we just talked about Mike Evans and Christian McAfrey and Fred Warner and Nick Post and George Kiddo every episode.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_01]: But
- 2:27[SPEAKER_01]: We want to do what perhaps other people are not doing.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_01]: So I do want to say thank you so much for being here.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_01]: Look at this, David Walner in the chat.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_01]: I knew today was going to be a good day.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you, die hard cowboys fan here.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_01]: You can teach with them one of the best, the best, appreciate you, brother.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_01]: And cowboys are looking good, can't wait, man.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_01]: And probably our biggest event that we've ever had, we're foreshadowing here.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be out Dallas my friend.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_01]: So I better see you out there.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_01]: We've rented out Texas live.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_01]: We'll be there in the day before and our tailgate is going to be unbelievable and inclusive premium tailgate day of the game on our own property so we could do our own thing.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_01]: It walked to the stadium have a good time.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_01]: Go to 40 hours for a short trip to come.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_01]: Make sure if you guys are coming out.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate all the hashtag CCs.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, Dan?
- 3:10[SPEAKER_01]: So we at Kimbro.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_01]: I love this.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_01]: David appreciate you guys.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_01]: What's the dummy?
- 3:14[SPEAKER_01]: Tommy the man.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_01]: Big toe, John, one of my clients has here since I'm here in Northern California said there's sun now is an offensive coordinator of Texas, maybe think of you, I guess they take care do not love it.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: One of us wins.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_01]: We all win.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_01]: Celebrate others victories.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_01]: You will have a much better life.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_01]: That is for danger.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, Robert?
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you guys.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, we got my man.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_01]: Josh's in the house are executive producers for this series, Josh Ben and Zach.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_01]: Here's the process, the peak behind the curtain.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: Once we, the 49ers finish the draft for Yagitsi, all that stuff, you have your 91 players.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_01]: Zach bin, Josh and I, we get together, and we blindly rank one through 91, and the only premise is this, most important players for this season only, 2026.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_01]: That's it, we're not looking long term, we're not looking at any of that stuff, it's who matters most this season for the 49ers season.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_01]: Um, then we compile all those and whatever algorithms and that that gives us our one through 91 and so today's episode is 82 through 86 we start 86 when we work our way up all the way till we get to number one.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_01]: Um, so thank you Josh, appreciate you man.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_01]: He's a freaking legend.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_01]: Um, yeah, what above 500 team has deck beaten in the playoffs?
- 4:33[SPEAKER_01]: Well, two playoff wins.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_01]: It is career.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_01]: I will remind everybody Brock pretty has more playoff wins than Tony Romo and Dak Prescott combined and still climbing.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_01]: I do think the cowboys have a very good roster this year, but it's the cowboys and it's Dak who is one of the best regular season quarterbacks
- 4:56[SPEAKER_01]: doesn't matter, whatever.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_01]: You don't have that clutch gene.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_01]: It just does not matter.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_01]: So that's kind of where that is.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Kim bro, my man.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much for the super chat.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_01]: Your generosity says congratulations on the graduation.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_01]: Lower roster count down.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_01]: It gives me hype and informed for the season.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_01]: Please don't ever stop.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_01]: Every off season, I have the conversation with the wifey.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_01]: Are you doing the countdown again?
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: I like, yeah.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't know, maybe we'll stick with this format because we didn't use to do live episodes.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_01]: I would just do recorded content offline, then upload it across all platforms.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, it's not going anywhere anytime soon.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_01]: Next off season, I will have more time hopefully.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, this year's just bananas.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_01]: Sun's graduating, it says moving to Texas, try to get easy and rolled in fire academy.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's our 20th anniversary with the wife and I, which is incredible.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_01]: We're downsizing now that we're empty nesters.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_01]: Just a lot of moving parts.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: And so yeah, just kind of getting our bottoms kicked over here in a good way.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, so that's what that is.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't want the roster countdown.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_01]: to go anywhere.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_01]: Really, really don't.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, Tommy, appreciate you, man.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_01]: Just want to let you know what we love you.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_01]: And you are the freaking man.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_01]: He says, you know, going to Florida see my dad probably for the last time Tuesday.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_01]: I'm cherished that man and I know it's hard.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_01]: But
- 6:20[SPEAKER_01]: must have been a bad attitude, and it's still a bad attitude to put out of Tommy Huxley band.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_01]: So happy Memorial day to the faithful got to put that out there.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_01]: I love that celebrate small things in any way that you can and people that sacrifice to everything.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_01]: Good Lord, the best of the best.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_01]: David, love it.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of people don't know John, just graduated yesterday also.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_01]: That is true.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, I, I probably, it's so funny.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_01]: Like I went to college forever, went to grad school forever.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: And then I, my job now, I didn't even need a high school diploma
- 6:51[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, I don't think that's funny.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's sad, but that's okay.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you guys.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_01]: What's up man?
- 6:55[SPEAKER_01]: My man shade.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_01]: He says good morning, John, hope to see an Arizona last game of year.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_01]: I hope so too.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_01]: We're still up in the air on the Arizona trip.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_01]: I hate the flex scheduling date.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_01]: It makes it so hard for staff and traveling and all that stuff.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_01]: But, um,
- 7:09[SPEAKER_01]: the hopes are we will be in Arizona.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_01]: The hopes are we will be in Arizona.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, big red.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_01]: Send my twin boys or graduated next year.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_01]: Congratulations, my man.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go north for me.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_01]: The Falcons, Falcons, yeah, yeah.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_01]: Much love John, absolutely best right back at you man.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_01]: All right, without further ado, let's dive in.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_01]: Number 86 on the 40 hours roster countdown of 2026 will probably
- 7:34[SPEAKER_01]: Priority free agent, wide receiver, undersized hard worker special teams.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_01]: This is the Junior Bergen competition.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_01]: And we have Will Pauline ranked ahead of Junior Bergen.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_01]: I really, really do.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_01]: I think that he brings more to the table.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_01]: I know that Junior Bergen has been with the team for a year.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_01]: I understand he was a seventh round traffic, but you know, these two guys, I don't think that there's any reality,
- 8:02[SPEAKER_01]: where we'll Pauline and Junior Bergen make the 53 man loss.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_01]: I just don't see it.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_01]: We'll Pauline's wearing jersey number four, clean look, 5 9 183, he's small, 23 years old.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_01]: He's a Chicago kid, went to homewood, floss more high school, and was a big time high school athlete.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_01]: 1100 all purpose yards as a junior, 20 touchdowns, was productive in three sports and college,
- 8:30[SPEAKER_01]: Like you watch them and you're just like okay, I see it.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_01]: This is Kyle Shanna hand running back likes the block despite being the smallest guy on the field Loves the weight room.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_01]: You could tell he is a workout warrior.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_01]: He is hardcore leadership qualities.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_01]: This dude was a team captain voted a team captain at Notre Dame He didn't start and so that the the negative This dude didn't even start college.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_01]: He started six games to senior year at Notre Dame, but was elected to team captain by the team
- 9:00[SPEAKER_01]: work ethic, energy, character, leadership, just, you know, you're checking a lot of the intangibles.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_01]: When the 49ers bring players in, the first question they asked, does this guy love football?
- 9:12[SPEAKER_01]: We'll Pauline loves him some freaking football.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_01]: So back into the roster guy for sure.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_01]: He's number 86 out of 91.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_01]: He's got an uphill battle for sure.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_01]: No doubt about that.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_01]: Um, while their text man got a turn on my do not deserve.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_01]: How dare you.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_01]: I love you man.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and it kid like his journey, you talk about loyalty.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_01]: So he goes to Cincinnati.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_01]: Then he transfers to Washington, then Notre Dame.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_01]: Now what's funny is he, he followed Luke fickle was head coach from Cincinnati to Wisconsin.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_01]: Then he followed his wide receiver coach Mike Brown from Wisconsin and Notre Dame.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_01]: So he, this is a guy that is, you know,
- 9:52[SPEAKER_01]: loyalty program.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_01]: It's written all over them.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_01]: Like, yeah, he moved up, you know, Cincinnati to Wisconsin, Wisconsin, Notre Dame.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_01]: I get that.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_01]: I get that.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_01]: I get that.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_01]: But again, it's voted as a team captain whenever he was with Notre Dame for one year and didn't even start.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_01]: Like, that is the impression that we'll Pauline brings.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_01]: Now, you look at kind of events of 448, so he's got to be way more than Juniorburg, and even though they're similar size.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_01]: College career, he's played in 48 games, 155 receptions, 1700 receiving the yards, average 11.3 yards per carry.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_01]: That's really low for a small wide receiver, like usually these small kind of bullet dudes,
- 10:33[SPEAKER_01]: You know, 14, 15, 17 yards per catch.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_01]: This dude is a short gadget guy that can work screen, slants all that kind of stuff, 15 career touchdowns.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_01]: Did have one major injury where he had a stress fractured his right foot, had to have surgery, put a screw in, but since then has no issues.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_01]: You know, played 400 career special team snaps.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's huge.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_01]: And he gets a three year 3.1 million dollar contract with the 40 diners.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_01]: Pretty standard for priority free agents.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_01]: No guarantees.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_01]: So he's not even at the top or the most coveted priority free agents at the Niners broad it.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_01]: That's why he comes in here.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_01]: Now, Dane, Pauline, sorry, Dane Brugler wrote about Pauline in the beast.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_01]: He said, quote, Pauline is the type of athletic competitor and leader at FL teams want to bring into the building, but he will need to establish himself on special teams and camp to stay there in quotes.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_01]: Watch some of his wide receiver tape.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's shifty, he's got speed, he's tough, even though he's small, I love his blocking ability.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_01]: But struggles getting off the line of scrimmage.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_01]: So now you got to hide them in slot.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_01]: So he's a small slot kind of only.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think he's a true ex.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_01]: This is special teams, returner type option.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_01]: That could be that small slot, Trent Taylor, S. And you find them at the bottom of the debt chart.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_01]: This is a problem with why receiver room.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_01]: They had five.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_01]: But listen to Mike Evans, Recapiers, all Christian Kirk, Sean Stribling, Jordan Walkings, Jacob Cowley, Tobarkis Robison, Leak Turner, Jr. Bergen, Wesley Grimes, Will Paul in Colton Dow.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: That's 12.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_01]: Mike keeps six.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_01]: Mike keep five.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_01]: Mike, you know, five to seven is the range.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_01]: But Will Paul in one of those guys, Jersey number four, where effort, leadership, just fun, and competition.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_01]: in competition.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_01]: I think that that is a big big deal.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_01]: I really, really do.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_01]: Now real quick update, we do have our Jerry Rice Tier Zoom hanging out this Wednesday at 5 p.m. so the 27th of me here just a couple of days.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_01]: That's been loaded up on the 40 hours rush.com.

- 12:49[SPEAKER_01]: Come join us.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_01]: It's the time we get it here from you.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_01]: Um, we just hang out and talk, man.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's a beautiful community with beautiful people and friendships.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_01]: It's incredible.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'm very, very lucky.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_01]: to be a small part of that.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_01]: So come join us.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_01]: The Zoom links are already been posted on there.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: With this Wednesday, 5pm Pacific time, it's going to be a good time.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully you come join us.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, let's have a good time over there.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_01]: Number 85, William Bradley King, one of the coolest names on the team I got to say.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_01]: Defensive in, he's a big old boy.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_01]: 64265, perfect build for a prototypical edge.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_01]: his job is to give the offensive line a good look.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_01]: Defensive in depth, which you have not had here recently, and you're expected a lot of guys to come back from injury, Michaela Williams, Nick Bosa, Keon White, hoping those three guys, you know, that's kind of top of the pecking order.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_01]: But then you got guys like William Bradley King that man, like you put in his comps,
- 13:51[SPEAKER_01]: for mock draftable, I mean, six, four, two, six to five.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_01]: He's a big dude.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_01]: He's both on you.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_01]: You put him next to both the same height, same weight.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_01]: Tyreak Smith, 86% match, no offense, 83% match, Robert Quinn, 82% match.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_01]: He's got the build in the traits.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_01]: He just hasn't really put it together.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_01]: Um, he's 28 years old, Arkansas duty was with Arkansas, the transfer to Baylor at 2020.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_01]: Um, gets drafted in the seventh round by the commanders at 2021, one round after Elijah Mitchell, if you want to kind of compare other 49ers with where they drafted.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_01]: So William Bradley, King went the seventh round was drafted player.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_01]: And if funny story, probably it's in nobody of me, he went to Hogan Preppy Academy in Missouri.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_01]: I lived across the street and grad school from this place.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_01]: The bells drove me crazy.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, you know, kids city Missouri guy with literally live next door to school, which is interesting.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_01]: Played three sports in high school.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_01]: He was a three star recruit committed to Arkansas.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_01]: The 49ers are going to be his 14 since he's been in the NFL, 14's commanders, Patriots, Dolphins, 49ers, the 49ers brought him in midseason last year.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_01]: So he wasn't on our countdown last year because he joined post 91 man roster.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_01]: And he's just been a practice squad kind of guy.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_01]: He's played in four games in this NFL career entering the sixth season.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_01]: Only one accrued He's got 30 tackles two sacks four quarter back hits and only 83 snap.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_01]: So like This is somebody I do not expect to play a lot for the 49ers, but like you're talking about somebody has played 83 snaps in the NFL.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_01]: This dude's got two sacks four quarter back hits.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_01]: That's pretty bonkers
- 15:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's never really been able to overcome the practice squad kind of stigma, but the NFL has a need for giving offensive linemen a good look, and there's not a lot of 64, 265 guys that you could put out there, or the practice squad, scout team, to give your offensive tackles good look against bull Russians.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_01]: That's what William Bradley King.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_01]: That's the value that he brings.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_01]: He's got a one year one million dollar deal.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_01]: No guarantees and again six years in the NFL.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_01]: He's made one point two million dollars.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_01]: So shows up gets beat up by Trent Williams whenever he shows up.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_01]: And that's got of his job.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_01]: That's where it is.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_01]: And you look at.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_01]: the depth chart for the energy to keep five defensive ends sometimes six.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, here's the depth chart.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_01]: Nick Bosa, Michele Williams, Keon White, Samo, Ramello, Hype, Michele Kamara, Cam sample, William Bradley, King coming in and out Andrew Farmer in the second at nine.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_01]: Now, what if Nick boasts a McKell Williams and key on why not available?
- 16:42[SPEAKER_01]: You go from 8 to 5 real quick.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_01]: I would probably argue the 49ers with side of veteran depth piece.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_01]: Instead of having William Bradley King on their 53 man roster because I don't think that there's much of a risk for a team to steal him away.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_01]: If you do wave them, so I don't think that he's going to make the 53.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_01]: But I do expect him to stay on the 49ers practice squad.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_01]: And he's got to beat out at least one.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, he's got to beat out two of these guys out of Andrew Farmer the second cam sample in Michele Camara.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_01]: If he could beat out two of those three, the 49ers usually like to keep two defensive ends on their practice squad.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_01]: So that's William Bradley King fun player.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_01]: again you're going back to perfect build prototypical edge size strength athleticism just as it put it together and man this 83 plays he's played in the NFL very effective it's kind of interesting that he has those stats and hasn't gotten back to that spot uh... or been given another chance but it just hasn't really happened
- 17:45[SPEAKER_01]: Um, just hasn't really happened.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, I don't know what to say about that.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_01]: Now, before we get to number 84, uh, we got a running back on our list.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_01]: If you go to any 49ers, road games this year, you got to come party with us.

- 19:11[SPEAKER_01]: Those are the five events we got up now.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_01]: Probably going to be adding LA, still working out some details.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_01]: They are hopefully have those done within this week.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, but yeah, if you go to any of those or you know anybody going to any of those games, they haven't come say what's up, man.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_01]: I, I, I, I truly believe we put out a pretty good product and a pretty good event.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_01]: Um, kids are free to everything we always do.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_01]: So check that out for there's rushrochip.com.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_01]: What's up?
- 19:33[SPEAKER_01]: Captain, appreciate your man.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_01]: Number 84 on the 49er's 2026 roster countdown, Ronnie Beck, sincere McCormick, another,
- 19:43[SPEAKER_01]: juicy name as a freaking awesome name veteran depth that knows the system jack of all trades special teams catch out of the backfield just he is Jordan James light and he knows the scheme he's been around for a long time um you know he wears jersey number 35 he's 5 foot 8 204 so again
- 20:08[SPEAKER_01]: stocky backs.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_01]: He ran a 460 not on the top end of the speed guy, but you plug in his metrics on mock draftable.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_01]: Astin, Gentian, him 95% match, Sean Tucker, 84% match, Jordan James, 84% match, Bobby Turner's got a tie.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_01]: Since he had a McCormick, knows the playbook inside.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_01]: Now, you know, he's been with the 49ers, the Cardinals, the Broncos, the Vikings.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_01]: He's been around
- 20:36[SPEAKER_01]: And again, being with the Vikings in the 49ers before, he knows this scheme.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_01]: He really, really does.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_01]: And the time he was with the Broncos, they were running kind of a shanty ham offshoot as well.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_01]: So he's not familiar.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_01]: And in Kaushen Han always wants this, he wants his last running back to be this guy, whether that's Kishan Vaughn, bringing back Matt
- 21:06[SPEAKER_01]: that could do everything in training camp and take these reps and can show the newer running backs.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_01]: This is how you practice.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_01]: That's what sincere McCormick does.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_01]: Do I think that he makes this roster?
- 21:18[SPEAKER_01]: No, but I do remember a time where five running backs were injured before the 49ers even started the season.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_01]: crazy or things have happened, and you know, he's not old.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_01]: He's been in the NFL for a while.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_01]: He's 25 years old.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_01]: There was that pocket of those COVID guys that came out in 2022.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_01]: He's a priority free agent.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_01]: That was just crazy crazy young.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_01]: He was one of those.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_01]: And, man, September 10th, same birthday as Josh and it's Josh.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_01]: UTSA, you know, he went to the fight-and-road runners, baby.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_01]: We got a couple UTSA guys on the roster, actually.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_01]: He was a two-time conference USA player the year.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_01]: This dude bald out.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_01]: in college, unbelievable, from Long Beach, California, so you like the California thing, but then moved to Texas with the Converse Justin, great program down there.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_01]: Came into the league of 2022, but hasn't found his home yet, bounced around, back into the Robster debt, but he doesn't have that team's like him to keep bringing him back.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_01]: He's almost been back with every single team at some point.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_01]: Even though he does get waived, he lacks the elite traits to qualify kind of in the NFL as a true player,
- 22:31[SPEAKER_01]: gives people good looks and you know played with five teams back with a second stint with the 49ers team and just hasn't made it off the practice squad throughout his career.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_01]: He's got 39 career rushes, 183 yards, 4.7 yards per carry, 6 receptions, 29 yards, not bad numbers, not bad.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_01]: You watch his film, vision,
- 22:59[SPEAKER_01]: Caitlin Black Jordan Jates.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_01]: They are very, very similar in their build in their traits.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_01]: Now those other guys much faster than sincere McCormick.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_01]: That's why they were drafted.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_01]: Played at bigger schools.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_01]: That's why they were drafted.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_01]: That's what that is.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_01]: Now he has, he did
- 23:21[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and did have a season ankle, uh, season ending ankle injury in 2024.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_01]: So he has had some lower body issues.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_01]: You don't like to see that.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_01]: Um, Niners product men on a one year 795,000 dollar deal, no guarantees.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_01]: Contracts tell you a lot about how the 49ers fill about players.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_01]: About how all NFL teams, if you get these players on one year deals with no guaranteed money,
- 23:48[SPEAKER_01]: that tell it and, you know, for sincere McCormick and these guys as well, like, look, this is, we see you as a back-in guy.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_01]: You can surprise, but just understand where you are.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_01]: Like, nobody's gonna claim you if we cut you.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_01]: So we want you to take a lot of reps and he's going to be a part of the CMC care package, which means Christian McAfrey that play a lot of games in the preseason and trading camp, he gets a lot of days off.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_01]: So since here, you're going to get a lot of reps. You can't screw up our ones just because you're getting a lot of reps.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_01]: He will not.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_01]: He knows what to do.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_01]: and you look at the depth chart, Christian McAfrey, Jordan James, Katelyn Black, Isaac Orlando, Patrick Taylor, Jr. since here I'm a quirk, there's only six.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's room for another running back on this roster.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_01]: I really do, especially with Christian McAfrey not practicing much.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_01]: So, Jordan James, Katelyn Black, they're gonna get,
- 24:44[SPEAKER_01]: the bulk of the carries and whoever wins that battle for the number two, that's going to be fun to see.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_01]: But Isaac Garendo, Patrick Taylor, Jr., sincere McCormick, those three guys are in a separate tier.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think I don't think sincere makes this roster the 53 man, but I do think that he's going to get a lot of work.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_01]: And so you're going to see number 35 out there.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_01]: get in a lot of work.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_01]: Capted.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_01]: I sincerely hope some McCormick's gets a sprinkle of carries.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_01]: Look at you.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_01]: You stood.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_01]: You stood.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_01]: Kimbro, don't see.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_01]: Since here, making it, going to be tough for this drafting black, would have to take him over Garenda.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he'd have to pass Garendo and Patrick Taylor Jr., which I think that this front office in Calcini had a love Patrick Taylor Jr., I think that they love Patrick Taylor Jr., he just hasn't stayed healthy.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_01]: that's there.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_01]: McCormick or Taylor is the last running back possible, but again, I don't think sincere you got to be worried about somebody taking them.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_01]: So you can wave on, put them on your practice squad, elevate them if you want.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_01]: I think that the goal for sincere McCormick, number 35.
- 25:53[SPEAKER_01]: is to make the practice squad.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_01]: That's what his goal is.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_01]: What's up Tom?
- 25:56[SPEAKER_01]: My man, applesauce.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_01]: Rusty live on a Sunday.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_01]: What have I been missing?
- 26:03[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, we're trying to keep the schedule, you know, going.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_01]: We're trying.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_01]: We're we're not the best at it, but uh,
- 26:12[SPEAKER_01]: We're trying.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_01]: So that's number 84.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get to number 83, but before we do, if you want to support the show, the way I feed the family, the 49ers rush.com in our patron.

- 27:39[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_01]: Number 83,
- 27:47[SPEAKER_01]: which let me just be very, very honest, I probably would have had Hayden Ruchi, the Titan lower, probably like, you know, 89, 88ish, but this is the shallowest depth of any position on the team.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_01]: Now, that's not a slight Hayden Ruchi.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_01]: He's got pedigree.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_01]: He's a big blocking Titan,
- 28:14[SPEAKER_01]: He wears Jersey number 83 Big O boy, 65 to 47.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_01]: The Niners do not draft small Titans.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_01]: I now can't even say, if you would have been there, what would that have look like?
- 28:24[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_01]: But they've never drafted a 63 guy.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_01]: They like big Titans.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_01]: They like big Titans, and I do not lie.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_01]: There we go.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_01]: Look at that.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_01]: Sir makes a lot?
- 28:34[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'll see myself out.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_01]: See, I can do the same thing, Captain.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_01]: I could be cringe as well.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_01]: is 25 years old, where's Jersey number 83, and another Wisconsin guy, multiple all academic big 10 awards.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_01]: He has his degree in real estate in urban land economics.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_01]: What?
- 28:56[SPEAKER_01]: This dude is a smart smart smart cookie and I'm just saying, I like him.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_01]: And whenever I turn on his tape, I was just like, oh, he plays like an extra offensive tackle.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_01]: That's the type of tight in that he brings.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_01]: He's from Lilith,
- 29:14[SPEAKER_01]: went to warwick high school, very productive high school career was a four star recruit committed to the badgers.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_01]: His dad Todd Roochie play football at Penn State before being a second round NFL traffic by the Patriots.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_01]: If anybody remembers that one played eight NFL seasons.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_01]: Mom was a stud at Penn State as well and field hockey grandfather Thomas played in the NFL for the Baltimore Colts for four seasons like pedigree, pedigree, pedigree, pedigree.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_01]: This dude comes from a family of athletes and he's got the size to do it.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_01]: He's got the intelligence.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_01]: That is there.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_01]: Now He's on his third team in two years was a priority free agent coming out in 2024 ran a 5.0 to 40 R dash.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_01]: He's big.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_01]: He's not fast It's just what it is.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_01]: He's going into his third season hated meruchias tight end
- 30:07[SPEAKER_01]: Only appeared in four games and all those came last season with the Dolphins.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_01]: No receiving yards or catches.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_01]: He had 39 offensive snaps, 42 special team snaps.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_01]: Again, linebackers, tightens.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_01]: That is what makes up today's NFL special team groups predominantly.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_01]: You throw in some safeties, but the most is tightens and linebackers, special team, special team, special teams.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_01]: That is where he would make the roster.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_01]: Play for Miami and Detroit, but again, just a blocker.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_01]: He did have an arm injury in 2019 and a foot injury in 2022.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_01]: It's played 81 snaps last year.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_01]: That's his entire NFL, whatever.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_01]: The rest of the time, just practice quad stuff.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_01]: Did have one tackle on special teams.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_01]: There we go.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_01]: Got brought out to the 49ers one year, one million dollar deal, zero guarantees.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_01]: That is what Slates and where he is.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_01]: Because you look at him and he's like, okay, this dude's probably not gonna make the roster, but it's the shallowest position on the team.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_01]: What are the 49ers need?
- 31:10[SPEAKER_01]: They need blockers and they need special teamers.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_01]: He does both those things.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_01]: his career earnings through three seasons six hundred and eighty thousand.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_01]: That's what practice quadpays you.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_01]: Now how many tight ends do the forty nine or skip usually three.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_01]: George Kiddo, recovering, we'll see.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_01]: Depth chart, George Kiddo, Jake Tonches, Luke Feral, to much of everybody's shagrand.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_01]: Khalil Dinkens, Braden Willis, Hayden Rucci.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_01]: That's where they're at.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, that's only six.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't do the thumb.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_01]: So Hayden Rucci comes in at number six, but this is such a thin position.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_01]: Man, there's hope, especially if George Kiddo starts on the pub, which I suspect he will.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_01]: All right, now he's fifth.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_01]: You got to beat out two guys.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_01]: Can he beat out Brandon Willis?
- 31:55[SPEAKER_01]: Can he beat out Khalil Dinkens?
- 31:58[SPEAKER_01]: I love Khalil Dinkens, by the way.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's an uphill battle, but can he prove that you know what?
- 32:06[SPEAKER_01]: Special teams and blocking, I bring it.
- 32:08[SPEAKER_01]: And I can do whatever is needed, right?
- 32:12[SPEAKER_01]: we'll see.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_01]: But it's going to be fun to see.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you're going to see him.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_01]: He's huge 83.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_01]: He's a big dude.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_01]: He might be the biggest Titan the 49ers have actually.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_01]: He is huge.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_01]: So that's going to pay dividends.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_01]: I love this.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Rudy Rusty urban land economics community garden rentals there.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_01]: He's got it I love it.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's slow, man.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_01]: He is slow.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, look at this.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_01]: Captain Hayden is the McCormick of the Titans.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_01]: You're not wrong.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_01]: You are not wrong.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_01]: Dinkens.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_01]: I do think Dinkens has a very strong chance of making this roster.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_01]: And I hope he does, man.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_01]: I really, really like that dude.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_01]: uh... captain said i'd be good making six eighty three years it me two brother me two brother all right this is our last one uh... number eighty two this is the last one we got but if you go to eighty forty nighter's games are shoot any events concerts you name it got to use tickman

- 34:54[SPEAKER_01]: You know, low ticket to the games and the lower ball.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_01]: You do that.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_01]: You don't care.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_01]: You just want the cheap ticket.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_01]: You can do that.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_01]: You want two person hotel.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_01]: All that's fully customizable.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_01]: So just go on there.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_01]: You can message us on true fan.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_01]: That's the best place to do that.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_01]: They're customer services fire.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_01]: They'll take care of you guys.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, Mexico and Australia travel packages.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_01]: Man, you don't have to do anything.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_01]: Put your deposit in.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_01]: pay you just pay it off and then once that's done we handle every single thing transportation to it from the airport drinks dinners the game tickets you name it several thousand dollars cheaper than the NFL package and we offer twice as much so go check that out right here topi my man thanks for the super chat look feral is absolute trash awful signing it was terrible the one thing i will say if i'm trying to find a positive
- 35:43[SPEAKER_01]: When kiddo played and was healthy, Luke Feral was a decent tied in too.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_01]: I do believe that.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_01]: When Luke Feral has to play up because George Kittles out, he struggled mildly.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_01]: Luke Feral is also decent on special teams.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_01]: He wasn't terrible on special teams, not consistent.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_01]: Me personally, I would have cut Luke Feral this off season and what it drafted or signed.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_01]: I still would signed and tied in.
- 36:07[SPEAKER_01]: I think they're still out there.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_01]: You have the money.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, Kyle loves them.
- 36:14[SPEAKER_01]: It just has a big good, just hasn't been good.
- 36:19[SPEAKER_01]: Really, really hasn't.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, whatever, all right, let's get to number 82 Patrick, make Morris.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_01]: Safety, not sure his jersey number just yet.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_01]: He's a big slow, strong safety.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_01]: Stop it if you heard this before, this is the only position
- 36:39[SPEAKER_01]: that the 49ers just do not care about speed.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_01]: This dude ran a 4.72.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_01]: It is a safety.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_01]: Now, great ball skills, very physical, very tough.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_01]: And that seems to be the requirement, right?
- 36:53[SPEAKER_01]: Like the 49ers, if they drafted safety, you got to be able to hit.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_01]: You got to want to hit.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_01]: You had to want to play special teams.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_01]: Patrick Memores does that in space.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_01]: He's a special team's focus guy and depth piece known for his insane work ethic everywhere he's been.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody loves this guy.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_01]: Just low.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_01]: He's slow.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_01]: 6 foot 206.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_01]: So he's a bigger kind of closer to a linebacker.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he's 24 years old.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_01]: He went to San Diego state
- 37:27[SPEAKER_01]: smart dude.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_01]: He has a bachelor's at Education Science at San Diego State.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_01]: Then he got his NBA at Cal.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_01]: Like this dude took advantage of his academic situation and props to him.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_01]: I love, I love that.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_01]: Raised in Santa Ana, California with the Gaudenais.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure I messed that up.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_01]: Fundamental high school played Ronnie back in high squad.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_01]: 2200 yards in 28 touchdowns.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_01]: As a senior, he averaged 12.8 yards per carry was a three-star recruit went to San Diego state.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_01]: The Aztecs a lot of San Diego state guys.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_01]: Now, he got drafted in 2024 in the six round, same round as Jared Kingston, who, you know, the 49ers drafted, but didn't stick around.
- 38:10[SPEAKER_01]: He was 198th overall to the dolphins, but got injured.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_01]: and hasn't, I don't want to say, got back on his feet, hasn't overcome that injury yet.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_01]: This is going to be the 14 in that timeframe entering into his third season.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_01]: He's played with Miami Dolphins, New York Giants, the Arizona Cardinals, and now the 49ers.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_01]: It's played in six games, which all came in 2024.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_01]: Recorded three tackles on 97 snaps.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_01]: I tried going to see some of the tape, wasn't that great.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_01]: He's a special teams guy.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_01]: That can provide safety depth like can he become a special teams ace in the NFL.
- 38:49[SPEAKER_01]: That's his pathway.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_01]: Not a lot of four seven to safety in today's NFL Roy Williams and the Cowboys uniform kind of showed lack of speed.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_01]: gets exposed on the back end in today's NFL, but the 49ers continued to go after these slow safeties, they level that I don't know why, but they love slow big safeties.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_01]: That matter anyway, now I want to go down to that.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_01]: Now, one year, one million dollar contract, zero guarantees, 862,000 career earnings, love that for him.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_01]: 49ers can keep four safeties.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_01]: They've kept five with the special teams designated safety in the past.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_01]: Here's the depth chart of the safe position.
- 39:32[SPEAKER_01]: Lee Gustafa, Marquis Siegel, Gyer Brown, Serenil, Jalen Strowman, Derrick Cantine, Derrick Forest, Patrick Morris, number eight.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_01]: Now, there is only four, like Serenil's making the roster.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_01]: He's the special team's ace.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_01]: Patrick Morris is trying to be Serenil.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_01]: That's his pathway.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of hard to see him get there.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_01]: But work ethic, ball skills is kind of the offset outlier.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_01]: Like this dude creates turnovers all throughout college.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_01]: That is kind of the thing that's just like, yeah, he's slow, but man, he anticipates well, route recognition is good, you know, football IQ is there, regular IQ is there.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_01]: That translates it as tape and college, haven't seen that much in the NFL.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_01]: and sometimes you can only overcome so much athletic inefficiencies and that's kind of the issue with Patrick Moore's.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_01]: But you're getting it down the back end.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_01]: That's all out hustler, special team stud and there is value in that.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_01]: Do I think he makes 53?
- 40:35[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_01]: That's why we have number 82.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_01]: But fun player, fun player, fun player.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, not as love.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they do.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_01]: They love that college.
- 40:47[SPEAKER_01]: It's interesting.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_01]: And it's weird to say Diego state.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, I got you said they just do the Aztecs.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_01]: They I mean you can go back and back and back and days they used to have so many of these guys.
- 40:59[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know why, but that's what it is.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's what it is right here.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_01]: He ran the safe speed is to launch it and see yeah, safety's hard man slow safety's are just hard in today's NFL.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_01]: They're going the way of the dodo.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's just hard to find that.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_01]: So that's going to do it for this episode of the next 40 hours roster countdown.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_01]: So we had five players.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully you got to know them a little bit better.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_01]: And you'll be able to recognize these guys in the back.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_01]: And number 86 will Pauling number 85 will you Bradley King number 84 since Sierra McCormick 83 hated Rucci in number 82 Patrick been Morris.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_01]: Now it's some fun times, and we'll be regular scheduled program in this next week.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_01]: And for us, the 49er's Rush podcast, we're just going to keep counting down.
- 41:47[SPEAKER_01]: Until next time, stay strong, faithful.
