Ja, maar mijn elleboog doet pijn. That works perfectly. Luna: What about if I hurt my wrist while carrying groceries? Lucas: Then you'd say Mijn pols doet pijn. Let's hear it. Luna: Mijn pols doet pijn. Lucas: Great. Now let's do a quick back and forth. I'll say a word, you say the full sentence. Luna: Okay, go ahead. Lucas: Elleboog. Luna: Mijn elleboog doet pijn. Lucas: Pols. Luna: Mijn pols doet pijn. Lucas: Excellent! You've got it. Now let's mix it up. I'll say the English, you give the Dutch. Luna: Sounds good. Lucas: My elbow hurts. Luna: Mijn elleboog doet pijn. Lucas: My wrist hurts. Luna: Mijn pols doet pijn. Lucas: Perfect. Now a tiny challenge: can you say 'my elbow and my wrist hurt'? Luna: Hmm... Mijn elleboog en mijn pols doen pijn? Lucas: Almost! Because it's two things, you use 'doen' instead of 'doet'. So Mijn elleboog en mijn pols doen pijn. But that's advanced for now. We'll stick with the singular. Luna: Okay, good to know. So today we really practiced de elleboog and de pols. Lucas: And the sentences Mijn elleboog doet pijn and Mijn pols doet pijn.
