- Kasra Dash: Today we're going to be talking about the best online reputation management companies — also known as the best ORM agencies. Some people call it OM, some say online reputation management. James and I have done a lot of consultancy work over the years and helped many people with mugshot removal and crisis management. James, what strategies do you use for ORM, especially with PromoSEO? James Dooley: As the founder of PromoSEO, I try to make sure every client — whether entrepreneurs, business owners or corporate brands — has strong online branding. We use SEO strategies to rank not only their websites but also all their social profiles. The goal is to control the first page of Google with positive sentiment, strong narratives, good reviews, and testimonials. It’s not just about ranking one site; ideally, we want to control the top 20 results. James Dooley: Kasra, you've done a lot of consultancy for Elite Reputation Management, which has become one of the biggest ORM brands globally. Why have they grown so quickly in the last 12 months? Kasra Dash: It comes down to strategy. When you fix someone's online reputation, they naturally talk about how good your service is. Strategies differ for personal brands versus companies. For companies in crisis, we use digital press releases to control the narrative and sometimes turn negatives into positives. For example, if a business is acquired and customers panic, we create messaging to shift the perception. We also push negative content — like Reddit complaints — down to page two by outranking it. James Dooley: Another brand I’m involved with is Fat Rank, a UK-based online reputation management company. We work mostly with UK clients — businesses and individuals. We have effective systems for removing or deleting negative content. Many one-star reviews come from competitors, and we can report or challenge them legally. Removal is ideal, though not always possible. We also contact journalists to correct or take down inaccurate content. James Dooley: What are your thoughts on Scott Kever’s work in the US? Kasra Dash: If someone needs mugshot removal or has negative press, step one is speaking to an ORM consultant like you, me, or Scott Kever. Otherwise people panic-buy things they don’t need. We audit what services are required and guide them. After that, they can choose among companies like Fat Rank, Elite Reputation Management, or Searcheroo. Kasra Dash: Searcheroo is known for “power posts” — articles not owned by clients but ranked for their name, e.g., “James Dooley Reviews.” These help suppress unwanted content when other companies failed to remove it. This is called ORM suppression. James Dooley: At Reputation Pros (Scott Kever’s company in Florida), they buy power posts from Searcheroo and sometimes collaborate with Fat Rank or PromoSEO. There are many situations requiring different ORM methods: news articles, car crash reports, mugshots, or one-star reviews. If someone in the US needs a Florida-based ORM expert, I refer them to Scott. James Dooley: One more name worth mentioning is Sam Olock in Dubai. He helps with Google News, magazines, and high-authority publications. In ORM, connections matter — especially for press and suppression strategies. Between tier-2 backlinks, power posts, parasite SEO, and ranking multiple websites, there are many moving parts. Ranking one site is easy; ranking ten sites just to outrank one bad article is the hard part — and that’s what makes online reputation management challenging.
