- 0:57Speaker 1: a great show coming to you this week. We got
- 0:59Speaker 1: a lot of football talk right off the bat. We're
- 1:02Speaker 1: gonna be revisiting our NFL predictions that we made before
- 1:06Speaker 1: the regular season started. We're also gonna be talking about
- 1:09Speaker 1: this Eagles team the remaining schedule. Might they actually be
- 1:12Speaker 1: the top seed in the NFC? And then from there
- 1:16Speaker 1: we gonna we're gonna get into some MLB Hall of
- 1:19Speaker 1: Fame ballot talk as well, since the names just came
- 1:23Speaker 1: out this week, and then we got a ton of
- 1:25Speaker 1: Sixers talk. This freaking team is a mess. As we're
- 1:29Speaker 1: recording this. As I mentioned right at the right at
- 1:32Speaker 1: the top of this podcast episode, on November twentieth. Youre
- 1:36Speaker 1: Wednesday night. This team is a mess, and we're gonna
- 1:39Speaker 1: talk about this mess.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Of the Philadelphia seventy six ers on this episode.
- 1:43Speaker 1: I'm Jeff Warren here, my good buddy Eric Leonard, Hey doing.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Eric, I'm good. I'm good. Started started basketball up coaching. Yes,
- 1:52Speaker 3: it's funny. Early in the season. I am very loud
- 1:55Speaker 3: and dominant and just kind of, you know, setting the
- 1:58Speaker 3: tone like you're not gonna talk back. You're twelve years old, now,
- 2:01Speaker 3: don't give me your ship. I don't swear. Some of
- 2:03Speaker 3: the kids are like farmers. They would lose it. They
- 2:05Speaker 3: would like go home and be like, oh it's sad,
- 2:07Speaker 3: you know.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Doing the cross on their chest.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Oh my goodness, gracious exactly. But I I've been losing
- 2:16Speaker 3: my voice every night. Oh I am. I am like loud, loud.
- 2:19Speaker 3: I really put on like a baritone and just kind
- 2:22Speaker 3: of just make sure they understand, like you no smart talk,
- 2:26Speaker 3: do whatever I tell you. I mean, I had one
- 2:28Speaker 3: kid the other night last night. I always had a
- 2:30Speaker 3: thing of mints and my phone on this desk. When
- 2:33Speaker 3: I'm coaching, I'm doing a drill. I'm making sure they're
- 2:36Speaker 3: all watching the night in I look back, this kid's
- 2:39Speaker 3: sticking his fingers in my mint cake thing getting mints
- 2:42Speaker 3: out without asking me. Dude, I've never made kids run
- 2:46Speaker 3: so hard and tortured them. After I was just like,
- 2:49Speaker 3: are you kidding me? And uh and then by the
- 2:51Speaker 3: end I lost my voice. So tonight I actually had
- 2:53Speaker 3: a good time, did an easy practice because I wanted
- 2:56Speaker 3: to have my voice for the show.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I appreciate it.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Poor kids probably like coach, I just had bad breath.
- 3:03Speaker 2: I just had bad breath.
- 3:04Speaker 3: Well, they all do, they're all kids. They don't barely
- 3:06Speaker 3: brush their teeth. Yeah, I was just like, Nevere, don't
- 3:09Speaker 3: stick your greasy little hands. I don't know where thoseuld
- 3:12Speaker 3: been in my mint my mint container. And uh just yeah,
- 3:17Speaker 3: just the pump Hos city of twelve year olds. Yeah,
- 3:19Speaker 3: like centered.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Absolutely, absolutely, Well, buddy, I do want to say too,
- 3:24Speaker 1: you know, just the people that have been with us
- 3:25Speaker 1: for so many years. You know, they hear about our families,
- 3:28Speaker 1: and they hear about our kids every now and again.
- 3:30Speaker 1: And we think your daughters picked her college that she's
- 3:34Speaker 1: going to be going to. And you were in a
- 3:36Speaker 1: certain city over this weekend. I don't know if you
- 3:38Speaker 1: want to mention anything with it, but I just want
- 3:40Speaker 1: to say congratulations. Look, you know, when you're a father,
- 3:42Speaker 1: your parent and your kids are making life decisions, you know,
- 3:46Speaker 1: even at a young age, you know, it's a it's
- 3:48Speaker 1: a monumental moment and stuff. So I just congratulations to
- 3:51Speaker 1: you and your family.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I can say I think we're I'm like ninety
- 3:56Speaker 3: percent sure she's going to choose Buffalo Home with the
- 4:00Speaker 3: Buffalo Bulls horns up.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Yep.
- 4:02Speaker 3: And she she had her dance audition last Friday, killed it.
- 4:06Speaker 3: Apparently she's already been offering an academic scholarship there. So
- 4:11Speaker 3: awesome and it is wild. It's just like I was
- 4:14Speaker 3: just holding you at the hospital window.
- 4:16Speaker 1: She was just born at our wedding. Yeah, Michelle's at
- 4:20Speaker 1: my wedding.
- 4:20Speaker 3: She was a baby, like an she was like two
- 4:24Speaker 3: months old. Yeah, it's really tiny, like you know, it
- 4:27Speaker 3: was breastfeeding situations.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Yeah, yep.
- 4:30Speaker 3: And yeah, and now she's going to be out of
- 4:33Speaker 3: the house in less than the air.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Now, my god, oh god. Well, congratulations to you and
- 4:38Speaker 1: your family, buddy. Well look let's get into the show
- 4:41Speaker 1: here too. I mean this, I have loved this football
- 4:44Speaker 1: season so far. From an NFL perspective, because I think
- 4:48Speaker 1: we are seeing some changes as we saw last year,
- 4:52Speaker 1: where defenses are really starting to figure out offenses more,
- 4:55Speaker 1: and I think it's why you're seeing the run games
- 4:57Speaker 1: so much more dominant in football. Yeah, of course it's
- 5:01Speaker 1: still there and it's it's what the league wants. But
- 5:04Speaker 1: the NFL is changing in a lot of different ways.
- 5:07Speaker 1: And it's interesting when we go back and look at
- 5:10Speaker 1: revisiting our NFL predictions for what teams were going to
- 5:13Speaker 1: do this season in terms of winning the divisions and
- 5:16Speaker 1: what teams might go or get wild card spots. You know,
- 5:20Speaker 1: we're pretty spot on so far with some of the predictions.
- 5:23Speaker 1: We're gonna kind of go through some of them right now,
- 5:26Speaker 1: but i gotta say, man, the league is changing a bit,
- 5:28Speaker 1: and I've really been enjoying this NFL season. I know
- 5:31Speaker 1: I'm the football guy here on this podcast, but this
- 5:34Speaker 1: season's been a little bit more enjoyable than other ones
- 5:37Speaker 1: for me. I'm not sure how you're feeling about it.
- 5:38Speaker 1: I know you don't get to see every single game,
- 5:40Speaker 1: necessarily watch every single Sunday due to family commitments and stuff.
- 5:44Speaker 1: But I've been enjoying this football season so far.
- 5:47Speaker 3: It's good. I mean the b two takeaways, one's positive
- 5:51Speaker 3: and one is negative, but it created the last one
- 5:54Speaker 3: creates a lot of comedy for me. My main thought
- 5:58Speaker 3: offensively is running backs are back.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Yes, I love it.
- 6:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean the the passing. It's a passing league now,
- 6:06Speaker 3: of course, and that's never going to go away. But
- 6:07Speaker 3: I can't I can't believe how good the running backs
- 6:10Speaker 3: are and the fact that Derek Henry was just allowed
- 6:13Speaker 3: to go to the Ravens. I mean, they paid him,
- 6:16Speaker 3: but it was just like what Titans have you? Have
- 6:18Speaker 3: you watched film yourself this year? Like what what do
- 6:20Speaker 3: you think Saquon? I mean Aaron Jones and uh or
- 6:25Speaker 3: Josh Jacobs with the Packers Aaron Jones. It's just really
- 6:30Speaker 3: smart pickups and then they're they're kind of going in
- 6:32Speaker 3: the running game because, like you said, the defense is
- 6:34Speaker 3: getting so much better with the pass defense. But my
- 6:37Speaker 3: my favorite takeway from the scene so far as there
- 6:40Speaker 3: are so many bad coaches and bad front offices, but
- 6:44Speaker 3: mainly the coaches in the league. I can't believe how
- 6:47Speaker 3: bad some of the coaching is is and that only
- 6:51Speaker 3: one coach I think so far has been fired Salah.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Right, yeah, Robert Sala.
- 6:55Speaker 3: How has Mike McCarthy not been fired? How has the
- 6:58Speaker 3: coach for the Panthers not been fired? Again? I mean
- 7:01Speaker 3: they're paying like three other coaches right now, but I
- 7:03Speaker 3: just can't. It is astronomically mind blowingly bad. The guy
- 7:08Speaker 3: who coaches the Raiders, Yeah, I coach a better game
- 7:11Speaker 3: than him.
- 7:12Speaker 2: Absolutely, Brian Dable, for god's sake, New York.
- 7:14Speaker 3: It's horrible. And like Antonioppears for the Raiders. Yeah, he
- 7:19Speaker 3: said after this last game that he was taking notes
- 7:21Speaker 3: on the sideline. He should probably have those prepared before
- 7:25Speaker 3: the game. I mean, like I as slowly hell, but
- 7:28Speaker 3: it's made for such really comical, like like moments for me,
- 7:33Speaker 3: like because I love bad coaching. Really, this is my
- 7:35Speaker 3: own team. Yeah, we'll talk about they were the sixers.
- 7:38Speaker 1: I think what's really interesting and maybe we'll get into
- 7:40Speaker 1: it with when we revisit some of our predictions here,
- 7:42Speaker 1: because there's one particular team in one particular coach I
- 7:44Speaker 1: really want to talk about when we get into our
- 7:47Speaker 1: wild cards for the AFC.
- 7:49Speaker 2: But let we'll get to that in just a bit.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Let's go down the list here of the AFC divisions.
- 7:54Speaker 1: NFC divisions and how we did in terms of our predictions.
- 7:57Speaker 1: So the AFC East, Eric, you had the Bills coming
- 8:01Speaker 1: out on top that predictions looking good. Lennon myself had
- 8:04Speaker 1: the Jets.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Can I kind of be free continue? I'm looking through
- 8:11Speaker 3: it now. I'm almost dead on man.
- 8:13Speaker 2: You really are, Yeah, you really are.
- 8:16Speaker 1: It's embarrassing for me because I'm I'm the football guy
- 8:19Speaker 1: here and I'm like, oh boy, I really do think
- 8:22Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers is gonna be able to take the Jets
- 8:23Speaker 1: to the next level.
- 8:25Speaker 3: Nope, he is just real quick minute on him and
- 8:28Speaker 3: that whole saga like he's just he's just a disaster now,
- 8:33Speaker 3: like he's just a poisonous player, a poisonous human being.
- 8:35Speaker 3: And I'm time it was politics. He's just how he
- 8:38Speaker 3: threw Mike Williams under the bus, how everyone around him
- 8:41Speaker 3: is getting fired and burned alive and he just gets
- 8:43Speaker 3: to sit back and be Aaron Rodgers and go on
- 8:45Speaker 3: McAfee once a week. And how can you fire him?
- 8:50Speaker 3: Is there a way to like you're fired, We're not
- 8:52Speaker 3: paying you anymore, We're gonna take you to court, to
- 8:54Speaker 3: take you to court, like he is such an awful
- 8:59Speaker 3: like just said, what's the like Albatrotz.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Yeah, on that front, you use the word burned, like
- 9:05Speaker 1: every everything around him is burning. Everything around Aaron Rodgers
- 9:08Speaker 1: is burning to the ground basically, and it's like the
- 9:11Speaker 1: Jets have to get out in front of this.
- 9:13Speaker 2: They can't.
- 9:13Speaker 1: They can't have him playing next year too. They can't
- 9:16Speaker 1: or it's it's gonna set them up.
- 9:18Speaker 3: He's making like fifty million.
- 9:20Speaker 1: No, I mean they can look, they can release him,
- 9:22Speaker 1: and they gotta pay him, and they could go on
- 9:25Speaker 1: go on McAfee's show every day.
- 9:27Speaker 3: And that defense is was awesome last year, and this
- 9:30Speaker 3: year they kind of suck. I don't think it's Roberts.
- 9:32Speaker 3: I don't think it was Robert sal I don't think
- 9:33Speaker 3: it's the other coach. I think they're like, I don't
- 9:36Speaker 3: want to Why am I busting my ass for this asshole? Yeah,
- 9:39Speaker 3: who can't score more than thirteen points a game. I
- 9:42Speaker 3: really think he's just the centerpiece of the entire disaster
- 9:45Speaker 3: of a franchiser.
- 9:46Speaker 2: I agree. I agree.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Well, you certainly nailed thus far the AFC East, the
- 9:49Speaker 1: AFC North. You Len and myself we had the Ravens
- 9:54Speaker 1: and that so far, pretty pretty decent.
- 9:57Speaker 4: Pick.
- 9:57Speaker 3: I think Steelers beat him.
- 9:59Speaker 2: That is true. True.
- 10:00Speaker 1: We don't know if I believe in the Steelers. I
- 10:02Speaker 1: don't know if I'm there with them. I know they're
- 10:04Speaker 1: one of the top teams in the league. You're like
- 10:06Speaker 1: a power rankings and they're like top five. I get
- 10:09Speaker 1: I get it, But I just don't know if I
- 10:11Speaker 1: believe in them down the stretch.
- 10:13Speaker 3: You know where I believe in them. Gambling, That's where
- 10:15Speaker 3: I believe in the Steelers. They cover every week like
- 10:19Speaker 3: they do defense. Always take the under. They're never gonna
- 10:22Speaker 3: play a game more than twenty points. Always take Yeah,
- 10:25Speaker 3: I play a money line. Do the under. You're gonna
- 10:28Speaker 3: win money. But I I can't. I can't trust them
- 10:31Speaker 3: either with Russell Wilson and then Justin Fields as the
- 10:33Speaker 3: backup quarter that that's very hard.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, are right.
- 10:37Speaker 1: The AFC South again, You, lenn and myself picked the Texans.
- 10:41Speaker 1: I think that was kind of an easy pick.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Uh.
- 10:44Speaker 1: They're they're They're certainly not perfect by any stretch, but
- 10:47Speaker 1: they're like a very scrappy team again this year. Yeah,
- 10:50Speaker 1: if you have something you want to say about them.
- 10:53Speaker 3: I mean a lot of injuries right now for them. Yeah,
- 10:57Speaker 3: any team that like crushes the Cowboys, Now, I don't
- 11:00Speaker 3: I have no takeaways from that, because that team is
- 11:03Speaker 3: a utter disaster, maybe worse than the Jets, honestly, because
- 11:07Speaker 3: they're capped out, their quarterback is mediocre.
- 11:09Speaker 2: They might be worse than the Panthers.
- 11:12Speaker 3: I don't know if they're worse than I mean, I think
- 11:14Speaker 3: the coach is just as bad as the Panthers coach,
- 11:16Speaker 3: and I think GM situation is probably worse, even though
- 11:19Speaker 3: the Panthers GM situation is a disaster too. But Jerry
- 11:23Speaker 3: Jones is never going to relinquish control, and he's never
- 11:26Speaker 3: gonna allow a Belichick in the building or a Vaiable
- 11:28Speaker 3: for that matter, because they're gonna want control of the
- 11:30Speaker 3: whole thing. And he's like, no, you're gonna do this
- 11:32Speaker 3: with me. They're gonna like nope. Oh nis. So it's
- 11:36Speaker 3: it's a mess and they're capped out for like the
- 11:38Speaker 3: next three years.
- 11:39Speaker 2: So yeah, yeah, yeah, good point, good point.
- 11:41Speaker 3: Yeah, Cowboys suck.
- 11:43Speaker 1: AFC West. You lenon myself, we have the Chiefs. That's
- 11:47Speaker 1: that's just self explanatory. Moving over the NFC East, you
- 11:50Speaker 1: Len and myself had the Eagles. We know where the
- 11:52Speaker 1: Eagles are right now at this point in a pretty
- 11:54Speaker 1: good position the NFC North. Interestingly enough, Lenon my self,
- 12:00Speaker 1: we're very much on board with you know, Jordan Love
- 12:03Speaker 1: taking next steps and the Packers. We're going to be
- 12:06Speaker 1: the division leaders at this point and when win the
- 12:09Speaker 1: Division two. But man, you Eric, you picked the Lions
- 12:12Speaker 1: and another great pick. I mean it, they look like
- 12:15Speaker 1: they are going to be the division leaders because they're
- 12:18Speaker 1: probably the number one or number two team in the
- 12:20Speaker 1: NFC in general.
- 12:22Speaker 3: I mean, I think the number one team in the league. Honestly, Yeah,
- 12:26Speaker 3: they're they're they're They don't play down to their competition.
- 12:30Speaker 3: They they crush teams when they're supposed to c Like
- 12:33Speaker 3: the Jags come in town and that team's on the
- 12:36Speaker 3: team's on the rope, its incredible, and they just destroy them.
- 12:38Speaker 3: And it's like the Eagles to play the Jags and
- 12:41Speaker 3: let him right back in the game in the fourth quarter.
- 12:42Speaker 3: They did talk about bad coaching and Nick Siriani, I'll
- 12:45Speaker 3: give him a break this week, but like you know,
- 12:47Speaker 3: that's a little shaky, but like we let him back
- 12:50Speaker 3: in the game. They put their foot to the throat
- 12:52Speaker 3: to the Jags, and I think the I think the
- 12:55Speaker 3: biggest game for me that to be a believer is
- 12:57Speaker 3: when GoF through five interceptions I think two weeks ago
- 13:01Speaker 3: and they still won the game. Still won the game, yep,
- 13:03Speaker 3: Like that's you know. And they all talked him up
- 13:05Speaker 3: after the game. They were like, no, he's our guy.
- 13:07Speaker 3: And I was like, Okay, that team is. The chemistry's right,
- 13:09Speaker 3: the culture is correct, the coach is good, and they
- 13:12Speaker 3: held everyone accountable like that. That that feels like a
- 13:15Speaker 3: super Bowl team to me.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Yeah, that very I had. I have them as a
- 13:19Speaker 1: wildcard and we'll get to the wild cards in a minute.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Because when you, Len and I were doing our season predictions,
- 13:25Speaker 1: I remember this conversation. We were all just going back
- 13:27Speaker 1: and forth. You could see the Packers, you know, winning
- 13:30Speaker 1: the division, can see the Lions winning the division. We
- 13:32Speaker 1: kind of just had to pick and choose. It was
- 13:34Speaker 1: like a fifty to fifty coin toss at that point.
- 13:36Speaker 1: But the NFC South, believe it or not, we all
- 13:40Speaker 1: picked the Falcons, and I think it was because of
- 13:41Speaker 1: Kirk Cousins and the fact that they actually had consistency
- 13:44Speaker 1: at the quarterback position. So we all picked the Falcons.
- 13:47Speaker 2: There.
- 13:48Speaker 1: NFC West, Eric, you picked the Seahawks, and Lennon and
- 13:51Speaker 1: I picked the forty nine ers, So I mean the
- 13:52Speaker 1: Seahawks are looking pretty good at this point.
- 13:55Speaker 3: Yeah, that going to San fran and beating them twenty
- 13:58Speaker 3: to seventeen, which killed one of my moneyline parlays this
- 14:01Speaker 3: past weekend. Yeah, that's a shaky division. I mean, the
- 14:07Speaker 3: Cardinals are in first place right now, but the Seahawks
- 14:09Speaker 3: could very I think they play him twice still, they
- 14:11Speaker 3: playing this weekend, and they could very easily win that division.
- 14:14Speaker 3: That division kind of sucks, which is surprising.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Yeah, it does, all right, Well, looking at the wild
- 14:18Speaker 1: cards and then we're gonna end this part of the
- 14:20Speaker 1: discussion not going to get into AFC or NFC Championship
- 14:23Speaker 1: or Super Bowls. We can do that another time. But
- 14:26Speaker 1: are wild cards for the AFC. I had the Bills,
- 14:30Speaker 1: the Bengals, and the Jaguars. Okay, Eric, you had the Jets,
- 14:35Speaker 1: the Dolphins, and the Jaguars.
- 14:39Speaker 3: That's where I screwed up.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Well, there's one team where you Len and I screwed
- 14:44Speaker 1: up big time in terms of the wild cards. And
- 14:46Speaker 1: Len had the Bills, Dolphins, and Jaguars, And that's what
- 14:50Speaker 1: I wanted to talk about earlier is the Jaguars and
- 14:53Speaker 1: the coaching Doug Peterson. I'm surprised he hasn't been fired yet,
- 14:57Speaker 1: but I gotta be honest, I do not believe Peterson
- 15:00Speaker 1: is that terrible of a coach. And yes, maybe it
- 15:02Speaker 1: is the bias that he took the Eagles to the
- 15:04Speaker 1: super Bowl and got the Eagles their first super Bowl
- 15:06Speaker 1: win along with a backup quarterback in Nick Foles. Maybe
- 15:10Speaker 1: maybe that I have that bias, But I don't think
- 15:12Speaker 1: Doug Peterson is that horrible of a coach. I'm not
- 15:16Speaker 1: forgetting the years that he was here. After the Super Bowl,
- 15:19Speaker 1: how it just didn't go well with Carson Wentz. I'm
- 15:22Speaker 1: not forgetting that. Yes, I am remembering Super Bowl. However,
- 15:26Speaker 1: that is an awful organization down in Jacksonville. It is
- 15:29Speaker 1: a terrible organization.
- 15:31Speaker 4: Man.
- 15:31Speaker 1: They paid Trevor Lawrence what they paid him. I mean,
- 15:34Speaker 1: Trevor Lawrence is being paid. I think he's like the
- 15:36Speaker 1: third or fourth highest paid quarterback in the league. They
- 15:40Speaker 1: don't have any Yeah, they don't have any protection for
- 15:43Speaker 1: him on the offensive line. It's an absolute mess from
- 15:46Speaker 1: an offensive standpoint. Injuries across the board with wide receivers
- 15:50Speaker 1: throughout the season. Their defense absolutely stinks. They don't know
- 15:53Speaker 1: how to construct a team. If you don't know how
- 15:55Speaker 1: to construct a team from a front office standpoint, how
- 15:57Speaker 1: the hell do you expect your coach to actually be
- 15:59Speaker 1: able to games and put these guys in scheming positions.
- 16:03Speaker 1: It's gonna come out with positive outcome, you know, It's
- 16:06Speaker 1: it's kind of bizarre to me.
- 16:07Speaker 3: It's it's a mess of an organ that you're right,
- 16:09Speaker 3: And I mean it starts with like the personnel they
- 16:13Speaker 3: draft that Walker kid over Hutchinson two years ago. Yeah,
- 16:17Speaker 3: terrible move like that. I just say, it was the
- 16:19Speaker 3: best defensive line that's which you needed and you made
- 16:21Speaker 3: the wrong pick that you pull. You're bringing Mac Jones
- 16:25Speaker 3: as your backup quarterback. Terrible, he sucks. We all know
- 16:28Speaker 3: that you gave Trevor Lawrence the contract, like every every
- 16:31Speaker 3: move they've made. And Trent Baki, I think is the
- 16:34Speaker 3: GM down there, and he has he's a good track
- 16:36Speaker 3: record for like a couple of years with the Niners,
- 16:38Speaker 3: you know, but they had a good coach in Shanahan.
- 16:40Speaker 3: And that's why I get to Doug p Doug PE's
- 16:43Speaker 3: not a good coach man. I'm sorry He's one of
- 16:46Speaker 3: the reasons he's one of the bad coaching things I
- 16:49Speaker 3: was talking about earlier. That makes me a laugh. Yeah,
- 16:51Speaker 3: one of the two point conversion ship he does and
- 16:53Speaker 3: then he punts other times.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Very true.
- 16:56Speaker 3: He's one of those guys. His first twelve plays are
- 16:58Speaker 3: awesome and then he goes white face. He's like what
- 17:01Speaker 3: I do now in the second quarter, He's a mess.
- 17:04Speaker 3: And I think even on like a good team, he
- 17:08Speaker 3: would still struggle as a coach. And then that's a
- 17:10Speaker 3: definite like Rabel Belichick spot landing spot next year, absolute
- 17:14Speaker 3: ringing somebody because they have a new stadium opening up.
- 17:17Speaker 3: You got to drum up some uh you know some
- 17:19Speaker 3: uh what do you call it? Interest in there? So
- 17:22Speaker 3: just a mess, and I'm sorry. I think Doug p
- 17:24Speaker 3: was a I had one great season shooting star, and.
- 17:28Speaker 2: Then just went downhill. All right.
- 17:32Speaker 1: Wild cards for the NFC are predictions. Before the season started,
- 17:36Speaker 1: I had the Lions, the Rams, and the Commanders, the Coms,
- 17:40Speaker 1: I'm sorry, the Commanders.
- 17:42Speaker 2: And we had a conversation.
- 17:43Speaker 1: You were like, really, you think the Commanders are gonna
- 17:45Speaker 1: be like you think Jade Daniels is going to be
- 17:47Speaker 1: that good? And I remember telling you I said, yeah,
- 17:49Speaker 1: I think he's going to be that good. In fact,
- 17:50Speaker 1: I think he's going to be the best rookie quarterback
- 17:53Speaker 1: in the NFL. And I think he is doing that
- 17:56Speaker 1: at this point. I mean, probably the top candidate to
- 17:59Speaker 1: get NFL Rookie of the Year should be Quinn don Mitchell.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Quite frankly, it should. Uh. But defensive players very rarely
- 18:05Speaker 1: get that that bestowed upon them. Eric, you had the Rams,
- 18:10Speaker 1: the Packers, and the forty nine ers as your wild cards,
- 18:13Speaker 1: and Len had the Lions, Cowboys, and Seahawks. So are
- 18:18Speaker 1: are our wild cards?
- 18:19Speaker 2: Not that bad? Not too bad?
- 18:21Speaker 3: Now? And I know we're gonna talk championship or super Bowl,
- 18:24Speaker 3: but I'm pretty sure had Lions bills. And I'm looking
- 18:27Speaker 3: pretty good right now.
- 18:28Speaker 1: You are, You're looking pretty Honestly. It'd be a fantastic
- 18:31Speaker 1: super Bowl. As much as I want the Eagles to
- 18:32Speaker 1: get there, though, like as much as I would love
- 18:35Speaker 1: like Eagles bills too, would be insane with those with
- 18:39Speaker 1: the fan bases, Oh my god, people would do people
- 18:43Speaker 1: would do it.
- 18:43Speaker 3: What's funny is now we've been to Buffle like four
- 18:46Speaker 3: or five times as a family. Yeah, so they're they're
- 18:49Speaker 3: kind of digging the Bills a little bit. And it
- 18:52Speaker 3: was mentioned like one of the Eagles play the Bills
- 18:55Speaker 3: and you know Sylvia, and my daughter was like, well,
- 18:57Speaker 3: I don't know, dad, am.
- 18:57Speaker 2: I I'm like, oh god, you.
- 19:00Speaker 3: Can go to college today if you like, or.
- 19:03Speaker 2: You could go down Niagara Falls right now.
- 19:07Speaker 3: I wouldn't wish that on anybody. We were just there
- 19:09Speaker 3: again on Saturday. That is the scariest I did you know.
- 19:11Speaker 3: I always have that. I I think I told you
- 19:14Speaker 3: that weird feeling of like I would you like to
- 19:16Speaker 3: jump in there and go over the ball. You die immediately.
- 19:20Speaker 3: It's so violent and it's just it would rip, rip,
- 19:24Speaker 3: rip your part, your part. But Detroit Buffalo super Bowl
- 19:29Speaker 3: would be absolutely wild. Haven't won one, and now that
- 19:33Speaker 3: I think that'd be a lot of fun.
- 19:35Speaker 1: I actually told my daughters about Sylvia and my and
- 19:38Speaker 1: my wife Michelle about Sylvia and University of Buffalo and
- 19:42Speaker 1: I said, yeah, I said, I think I think Eric
- 19:44Speaker 1: and the family. I said, their a FC team is
- 19:46Speaker 1: probably gonna end up being Buffalo. You know that you
- 19:48Speaker 1: root for?
- 19:49Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 19:50Speaker 1: Just that's yeah, yep, all right, Well, uh, I think
- 19:54Speaker 1: I think the predictions were pretty decent. They were pretty
- 19:58Speaker 1: decent except Lens in my Jets, I think worst worst
- 20:01Speaker 1: picks had to be the Jets.
- 20:05Speaker 3: Well, I think with the number one takeaways, don't ever
- 20:07Speaker 3: trust the Jets.
- 20:08Speaker 2: No, we can't, we can't.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Our buddy Dave is a Jets fan, and I root
- 20:12Speaker 1: for the damn team every freaking year and it just
- 20:14Speaker 1: it just doesn't work out, just doesn't work out.
- 20:17Speaker 2: He should be putting a gun to his head.
- 20:18Speaker 1: All right, let's move along and talk about this Philadelphia
- 20:22Speaker 1: Eagles team the remaining schedule. Might they actually be a
- 20:26Speaker 1: top seed in the NFC the rest of the schedule.
- 20:29Speaker 1: At this point, they've got They're at the Rams this week.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Go back and listen to the Opposition Territory pod. Great,
- 20:35Speaker 1: great podcast with Brett Stouter from ramblinsfan dot com. It
- 20:39Speaker 1: was a great discussion about what we're gonna see this week.
- 20:43Speaker 1: They're at the Ravens. Then then they're home against the Panthers,
- 20:46Speaker 1: home against the Steelers. They are at the Combs the Commanders,
- 20:50Speaker 1: and then they are finishing the season with two home
- 20:54Speaker 1: games Cowboys, and then they finish and conclude the season
- 20:58Speaker 1: against the Giants. So so look, I think there's gonna
- 21:01Speaker 1: be at least two losses here. Frankly, I think the uh.
- 21:06Speaker 1: I think the Steelers are gonna beat them, and I
- 21:08Speaker 1: do think the Commanders are gonna beat them because they're
- 21:13Speaker 1: they're down in Washington. Jade Daniels has a different feel
- 21:16Speaker 1: to him when he is at home. He really does
- 21:19Speaker 1: in that stadium. I know they're still playing in FedEx Field,
- 21:23Speaker 1: but man, the fans love him and there's an energy
- 21:26Speaker 1: that he has down there. I do think the Eagles
- 21:28Speaker 1: can beat the Ravens in Baltimore. I do think that
- 21:31Speaker 1: that's possible given how the Ravens have played here and there.
- 21:34Speaker 1: It's gonna be tough. It's gonna be tough. I think
- 21:36Speaker 1: the Eagles can beat them. But I think there's only
- 21:38Speaker 1: two more losses here. And I seriously think that this
- 21:41Speaker 1: Eagles team only is gonna have four losses on the season.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Eric, I don't know what are you thinking here?
- 21:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I think the game this Sunday is
- 21:48Speaker 3: actually gonna be a little tougher than the fans are
- 21:51Speaker 3: expecting the schedule. I think Rams record was five and five.
- 21:54Speaker 3: I believe. Yeah, great receivers. Uh, you know, if Stafford's healthy,
- 22:01Speaker 3: it's not a team to take lightly, but I or lightly,
- 22:04Speaker 3: but I think we pulled that one out. I'm seeing
- 22:07Speaker 3: losses at the Ravens and at the Coms. But having
- 22:12Speaker 3: said that, that's gonna be the third to last game
- 22:13Speaker 3: of the year. Jade Daniels has been he's been awesome.
- 22:17Speaker 2: But he's a nurse in that rib injury though.
- 22:19Speaker 3: Yeah, he's you know, he's not a big guy, and
- 22:23Speaker 3: that's you're coming down to the end of the season.
- 22:25Speaker 3: Is he going to be healthy. If he's not healthy,
- 22:27Speaker 3: they beat that team's ass. In my opinions, Yeah, the
- 22:30Speaker 3: Steelers game. If it was in Pittsburgh, I might lean
- 22:33Speaker 3: a loss, But the fact they have him at home
- 22:35Speaker 3: with that crowd and Russell Wilson in December, I'm just
- 22:40Speaker 3: not I think they pulled that game out. I think
- 22:42Speaker 3: they lose to I think they'll lose two as well.
- 22:44Speaker 3: In thirteen to four. I mean I think I predicted
- 22:47Speaker 3: eleven and six.
- 22:49Speaker 2: I think did yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean twelve and five.
- 22:53Speaker 2: I was twelve and five.
- 22:54Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I think there's two losses. I think they're
- 22:56Speaker 3: thirteen to four. I don't think they get the top
- 22:59Speaker 3: seed though, that's my unfortunately.
- 23:01Speaker 1: But that yeah, you're thinking the Lions probably get the
- 23:03Speaker 1: top seed. I'm thinking that as well. But you look
- 23:05Speaker 1: at the Lions' schedule. They got to play the Bears twice,
- 23:08Speaker 1: they do play the Packers, but then they got to
- 23:11Speaker 1: also play the Bills, the forty nine ers, and they
- 23:14Speaker 1: end their season at home against the Vikings. There's possible
- 23:19Speaker 1: three losses there with with this Lions team.
- 23:23Speaker 2: Possible. I say possible because the Bills.
- 23:25Speaker 1: Are well, it's a home game against the Bills, They're
- 23:28Speaker 1: on the road against the forty nine ers.
- 23:30Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 23:30Speaker 1: It's gonna be real interesting. Top seed. That storyline is
- 23:33Speaker 1: gonna get built up soon, very very quickly.
- 23:37Speaker 3: I think, well, I think if they went if they
- 23:39Speaker 3: lose three of those, do we get the who's the tiebreaker?
- 23:42Speaker 3: I'm not sure how that works.
- 23:44Speaker 2: I'm not sure. I'm not sure off top of my head.
- 23:46Speaker 3: I think it goes conference record or something like that.
- 23:48Speaker 3: But I'm only seeing two losses for them too, which
- 23:51Speaker 3: would put them one game above us. I think that
- 23:56Speaker 3: Bill's Lions game that might be the game of the
- 23:59Speaker 3: year outside of the Chiefs Bills game. Yeah, that's gonna
- 24:02Speaker 3: be an awesome game, but it's in Detroit. That's like
- 24:04Speaker 3: kind of the I think maybe they pull that one
- 24:06Speaker 3: out Packers Vikings. Maybe if the Niners get healthier and
- 24:11Speaker 3: they kind of put on they might be gearing up
- 24:14Speaker 3: for a run near the end. That might be a
- 24:16Speaker 3: tough game.
- 24:16Speaker 4: Yep.
- 24:17Speaker 3: As far as the Vikings lines go, I mean, the
- 24:20Speaker 3: whole division in like playoff scenario might be already done.
- 24:24Speaker 3: So maybe they just lose that game or just win it.
- 24:26Speaker 3: The Vikings diit everyod you know what I'm saying. Like
- 24:27Speaker 3: that all depends how the records go. I do think
- 24:30Speaker 3: they're gonna they'll be like they're gonna wind up one
- 24:32Speaker 3: game above us and get the top second seed though
- 24:35Speaker 3: still get a buye.
- 24:36Speaker 1: I'll take it, yea, heah, I'll take it. I will
- 24:37Speaker 1: absolutely take that for sure. All Right, Well, we'd love

- 25:07Speaker 1: on bigs are a Blue Sky? Now? I'm on Blue Sky. Well,
- 25:10Speaker 1: I've been there for like over a year, but I've
- 25:12Speaker 1: hardly ever used it. But this week, of course, it's
- 25:14Speaker 1: blown up a little bit. I'm not gonna necessarily say
- 25:17Speaker 1: my followers are blowing up necessarily, but still it's actually
- 25:22Speaker 1: been fun over there, like it's been like, no, no
- 25:26Speaker 1: awful negativity.
- 25:27Speaker 2: Not yet, the bots haven't totally taken over yet.
- 25:32Speaker 3: I just joined Thursday on the drive up to the Buffalo. WHOA, Yeah,
- 25:36Speaker 3: I think I followed you and maybe two other people
- 25:38Speaker 3: and I was like, all right, cool, I have got
- 25:40Speaker 3: back to it. But it does seem like a better
- 25:44Speaker 3: product than like, what was it master to done?
- 25:46Speaker 2: Yeah, it went nowhere.
- 25:48Speaker 3: I'm sure there's other ones, but it's better than Threads
- 25:51Speaker 3: so far. I mean Threads is like just bought central.
- 25:54Speaker 2: It really is.
- 25:55Speaker 3: Yeah, and it can't be any worse than Twitter, which
- 25:57Speaker 3: I refuse to leave because it's so awful. A woman,
- 26:00Speaker 3: a woman says, you know, I want birth control, and
- 26:03Speaker 3: some guy you know immediately is a responsive I want
- 26:06Speaker 3: to sectually assault you.
- 26:07Speaker 4: Like.
- 26:07Speaker 3: That's that's pretty much first turned into right, yes, and
- 26:11Speaker 3: you can't tell me I'm not going to in politics.
- 26:13Speaker 3: But I noticed the day after he won, Yeah, witter guy,
- 26:18Speaker 3: even more disgusting and more vile.
- 26:21Speaker 2: It was a lot more vile things was.
- 26:23Speaker 3: It was the next fucking day, guys. It was I
- 26:26Speaker 3: was like, holy shit, there's open like Nazis on this thing. Now. Yes,
- 26:30Speaker 3: it happened.
- 26:31Speaker 2: The have been crazy porn.
- 26:34Speaker 3: Bots and Nazis. Yes, that's what that's what Elon is that.
- 26:38Speaker 3: I guess the twenty twenty five U pitch to the shareholders, guys,
- 26:43Speaker 3: we're going porn and Nazis this year.
- 26:47Speaker 1: Yes, Ry before he bought it, remember he was like,
- 26:50Speaker 1: I want it to be an open town square, an
- 26:53Speaker 1: open town square for people, making it seem like he
- 26:56Speaker 1: wanted to the good old American way of communication.
- 27:00Speaker 2: No, whatever that is.
- 27:02Speaker 3: Well, it does resemble like a Roman like in the
- 27:06Speaker 3: coliseum where they're screaming for death, yes, murders, an open
- 27:12Speaker 3: forum of but it went back like a thousand years unfortunately. Yeah.
- 27:15Speaker 1: Yeah, well listen, if you're on Blue Sky, folks, follow
- 27:18Speaker 1: Eric and I out there. You can just search up
- 27:19Speaker 1: our names there and give us a follow. So, all right,
- 27:22Speaker 1: we're gonna take a quick break. We're gonna be back
- 27:24Speaker 1: in just a bit. We've got some Major League Baseball
- 27:27Speaker 1: Hall of Fame ballot talk coming your way and some
- 27:29Speaker 1: sixers talk.
- 27:30Speaker 2: Stick with us.
- 27:32Speaker 1: All right, we are back, and Eric, let's get into
- 27:36Speaker 1: the first look here that we saw this past week
- 27:39Speaker 1: at the twenty twenty five Major League Baseball Hall of
- 27:42Speaker 1: Fame ballots. I'm gonna give our thoughts here on maybe
- 27:45Speaker 1: who should make it in. I know last year, I
- 27:48Speaker 1: think Lennon and I talked about it, and I think
- 27:50Speaker 1: maybe you and I talked about it too. The fact
- 27:51Speaker 1: that Billy Wagner is up there, I think for sure
- 27:54Speaker 1: it's his tenth year on the bed, last year on
- 27:57Speaker 1: the ballot. I think he should get in. A two
- 28:00Speaker 1: point three to one e er is a reliever lower
- 28:03Speaker 1: than Hall of famers who are in there now, Trevor
- 28:05Speaker 1: Hoffman and Rolly Fingers. So I think I think Billy
- 28:12Speaker 1: Wagner should get in here. And he almost had the
- 28:15Speaker 1: votes last year.
- 28:16Speaker 2: Almost.
- 28:16Speaker 1: He received seventy three point eight percent of the vote
- 28:19Speaker 1: last year, which was just five votes short of the
- 28:22Speaker 1: seventy five percent that you need to be elected into
- 28:25Speaker 1: the Hall of Fame. So I'm rooting for Billy Wagner
- 28:28Speaker 1: at this point. What are your thoughts here?
- 28:31Speaker 3: Well, I'm not going to root for him because I
- 28:33Speaker 3: think there's a just on a personal level, some people
- 28:38Speaker 3: have this weird like he was one of ours, he
- 28:41Speaker 3: was beloved. He's like, I'm like, he was here for
- 28:43Speaker 3: two years here, two years, right, I was living in
- 28:45Speaker 3: Philly when he was here, when he was there, and like,
- 28:48Speaker 3: we loved him, but it was a really he was
- 28:51Speaker 3: not here for long at all, and then he went
- 28:53Speaker 3: to the stinking Mets, and I have a hard time
- 28:55Speaker 3: like being cool about him and like, oh, he should
- 28:58Speaker 3: definitely get in, And I honestly think he's kind of borderline. Now,
- 29:02Speaker 3: I'm not surprised it took him to the last year
- 29:04Speaker 3: to possibly get in, because, yeah, you said, Roley Fingers,
- 29:06Speaker 3: Lee Smith is in, Bruce Souters in, There's a lot
- 29:09Speaker 3: of closers that are in. There's more than I actually expected.
- 29:12Speaker 3: But then I kind of dug a little bit. I'm like,
- 29:13Speaker 3: Dan Quisenberry's not in, and they had very similar stats.
- 29:17Speaker 3: Joe Nathan's not in yet. Yeah, Jonathan Papplebond. I know
- 29:20Speaker 3: he was a Philly and not beloved, but when you
- 29:23Speaker 3: compare the stats, he has a couple more. He has
- 29:26Speaker 3: more saves than they do, but pretty much the same
- 29:28Speaker 3: era across the board. And if he doesn't get in
- 29:32Speaker 3: and those three aren't in either, I'm not not going
- 29:34Speaker 3: to break my heart.
- 29:35Speaker 2: It's fair. I think it's fair.
- 29:37Speaker 1: I think you know, God, Lenn and I have bitched
- 29:39Speaker 1: and moaned for years and years about how the process
- 29:42Speaker 1: is and how much power the writers have, and they
- 29:44Speaker 1: just love it. They love keeping certain guys at I
- 29:46Speaker 1: mean there's like I mean, look at guys like Andrew Jones,
- 29:51Speaker 1: Carlos Beltron, like these are guys like honestly, like I
- 29:56Speaker 1: hated when the Phillies would go up against these teams
- 29:59Speaker 1: that they were playing for. These guys should be in,
- 30:02Speaker 1: you know what I mean. But it takes so freaking
- 30:04Speaker 1: long it drives it drives me crazy. And then you
- 30:07Speaker 1: have intro you know, like he should be in and
- 30:12Speaker 1: how long is it going to take him to get
- 30:14Speaker 1: to Cooper's Town. I just hate the baseball writers and
- 30:17Speaker 1: how the whole thing works.
- 30:19Speaker 3: No, it sucks, and it's turned into like it's turned
- 30:23Speaker 3: into old men bitching about the Hall of Fame, which
- 30:24Speaker 3: we're doing right now. Again it is true, yes, but
- 30:29Speaker 3: I think we're a little more objective and smart about it,
- 30:32Speaker 3: where it's like Clemens and Maguire, omarv Scale Manny, you know,
- 30:39Speaker 3: and uh A Rod they should all be in. It's stupid.
- 30:43Speaker 3: Who cares they cheated soda berry bonds. They should all
- 30:47Speaker 3: have maybe their own wing of the Hall of Fame.
- 30:49Speaker 3: These guys cheated, but they're awesome. He would have gotten
- 30:51Speaker 3: even without the drugs. But like a couple thoughts, if
- 30:57Speaker 3: Eacheriro doesn't get in first ballot one votes, then what
- 31:00Speaker 3: are we doing exactly just tear the Hall of Fame
- 31:03Speaker 3: down because it doesn't matter.
- 31:04Speaker 2: Well, you know, there's going to be a couple of
- 31:05Speaker 2: writers that are like.
- 31:06Speaker 1: Oh no, I'm not sure, you know, traditions is this,
- 31:11Speaker 1: And there's gonna be a couple of assholes that don't
- 31:13Speaker 1: get him one hundred percent.
- 31:14Speaker 3: In my opinion, he was very on Revere. I think
- 31:18Speaker 3: almost got one hundred percent the first time. He was
- 31:20Speaker 3: right in. He's better than Mariano Rivera. I think he's
- 31:23Speaker 3: the best baseball player maybe ever. If you add his
- 31:26Speaker 3: stats from from the Japanese League to here. I think
- 31:30Speaker 3: he might be the greatest player of all time. That's
- 31:32Speaker 3: just my take. So if the greatest player of all
- 31:35Speaker 3: time doesn't get in first ballot hundred percent, then the
- 31:38Speaker 3: whole system is fucked, which we already know it's fucked.
- 31:40Speaker 3: We do CC Sabathi should definitely be in at three
- 31:43Speaker 3: hundred wins. He was awesome pro or great Major leaguer.
- 31:48Speaker 3: I just a lot of But then they give you
- 31:50Speaker 3: names that have got in. You know, I think it
- 31:54Speaker 3: was Todd Helton, maybe was he in last year? Or
- 31:57Speaker 3: who was it? Somebody made it last or Scott Rowland
- 31:59Speaker 3: is in that, Scott Roland is in, Yes, like Jesus,
- 32:06Speaker 3: I don't want to get into race. But it gets
- 32:09Speaker 3: a little weird when Scott Roland is in. Yeah, and
- 32:13Speaker 3: the old the catcher for the Twins, what was his
- 32:16Speaker 3: name he was there for like forever he got it yeah, Yeah,
- 32:20Speaker 3: And it's like if you weren't Midwest, red cheeked rube,
- 32:25Speaker 3: like like it's tough to get in then it. I
- 32:29Speaker 3: don't like the feel of it at all. Like if
- 32:32Speaker 3: each row doesn't get in, Chase Sulley is not getting
- 32:34Speaker 3: enough votes. That is wild to me. Andrew Jones should
- 32:37Speaker 3: be in.
- 32:38Speaker 2: Andrew Jones, Yes, yes, he absolutely champion.
- 32:41Speaker 3: He would think he was Rookie of the Year. He
- 32:43Speaker 3: played forever, never got accused of cheating. Why the fuck
- 32:46Speaker 3: is he not in? It makes no sense. And then
- 32:48Speaker 3: I think in the article he sent me, they had
- 32:50Speaker 3: the old Timers ballot or whatever the hell was. And
- 32:53Speaker 3: I'm looking at to listen, like Steve Garvey is not in.
- 32:56Speaker 2: That's incredible.
- 32:58Speaker 3: I went and looked at his stats.
- 33:00Speaker 2: Scott rowlins in.
- 33:01Speaker 3: Yeah, yes, exactly, Scott rowlands in. But he's not in.
- 33:05Speaker 3: Ten time All Star, won an MVP and woner World
- 33:09Speaker 3: Series in nineteen eighty one, awesome career. How is he
- 33:12Speaker 3: not that that nullifies all the other bullshit? Like it
- 33:16Speaker 3: doesn't make any sense. And on a personal level, I
- 33:18Speaker 3: saw Dick Allen's name on the list for the old
- 33:20Speaker 3: Timers thing. You get him in there because that's my
- 33:23Speaker 3: middle name. Yeah, I was named after him. There you go,
- 33:25Speaker 3: fair player. But he's a good ballplayer too. I'm not
- 33:28Speaker 3: not being biased, but like, the whole thing's a mess,
- 33:31Speaker 3: and and and the writers have allowed it to become
- 33:34Speaker 3: a mess overtime, right, and.
- 33:35Speaker 1: They absolutely have looked Chase Utley. Yes, I'm biased very
- 33:39Speaker 1: much so second time of the ballot. He got twenty
- 33:42Speaker 1: eight point eight percent last year. I think he is
- 33:45Speaker 1: somebody to possibly watch if he jumps over.
- 33:48Speaker 3: How is how is only twenty Like? That doesn't that
- 33:51Speaker 3: that is why the Hall of Fame is fucked up?
- 33:52Speaker 2: Yeah, twenty percent.
- 33:53Speaker 3: He's one of the best second basements of the past, like.
- 33:55Speaker 2: Thirty years, right, yes, yeah, twenty percent.
- 33:58Speaker 1: Yeah, how much Jimmy Jimmy Rollins got fourteen point eight
- 34:03Speaker 1: percent last year?
- 34:04Speaker 3: Fucking ridiculous. He won an VP is a world serious champ.
- 34:08Speaker 3: It doesn't make any sense.
- 34:08Speaker 1: I know, it's incredible. I mean even Bobby Bobby Bray
- 34:11Speaker 1: who also got fourteen point eight last year and that
- 34:15Speaker 1: was his sixth try.
- 34:17Speaker 3: Yeah, see, like he's a guy. It's like, okay, I
- 34:19Speaker 3: can debate that. Should he be in. He had a
- 34:21Speaker 3: couple of good years, but there's just guys on this list.
- 34:23Speaker 3: I'm like, that doesn't make any sense.
- 34:24Speaker 1: But about Andy Pettitt, I mean, as much as I'm
- 34:26Speaker 1: not a big Yankees fan, he got thirteen point five
- 34:29Speaker 1: percent last year his seventh try. I don't know, I
- 34:33Speaker 1: don't know if he's getting a seventy five percent.
- 34:35Speaker 3: I think he had the clemens a Rod stink on him.
- 34:38Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, good point.
- 34:40Speaker 3: I think he was brought up a couple of times
- 34:42Speaker 3: like oh zoo cheating. I mean yeah, but again, I
- 34:46Speaker 3: think he won with two hundred and twenty four games.
- 34:48Speaker 3: I believe Mike Messine is another name he's not in.
- 34:51Speaker 3: I don't believe he want to git a ton of games.
- 34:54Speaker 3: But I think if I think that stink, it plays
- 34:58Speaker 3: a big role though, in the in the voting.
- 35:01Speaker 2: Yeah, is Brian McCann. I don't know. It just came
- 35:03Speaker 2: to my Is Brian McCann the one that you were
- 35:05Speaker 2: talking about?
- 35:07Speaker 3: No, but he's on. He's on the ballot. If he
- 35:10Speaker 3: gets in, I'm quitting base I'm done.
- 35:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 35:13Speaker 3: Yes, he's the classic. We've talked about the show before,
- 35:17Speaker 3: how much we hate him. He's just like, play the
- 35:19Speaker 3: game the right way exactly.
- 35:21Speaker 2: I need to play on the traditional way.
- 35:23Speaker 3: You stepped on the line when he came out in
- 35:25Speaker 3: the field. I'm gonna punch you. Like what the.
- 35:28Speaker 1: Brian McCann stinks? Oh god, alright, well something else that stinks.
- 35:34Speaker 3: As we said, yeah, we have the only podcast in
- 35:36Speaker 3: America bitching about Brian McCann right now. There's just this
- 35:43Speaker 3: weird hatred towards him from the show. It is because
- 35:46Speaker 3: he's such a It's not because he like hates the
- 35:48Speaker 3: Phillies or like punched anybody. It's that I'm I'm gonna,
- 35:52Speaker 3: I'm standing up for the game. I hate guys like that.
- 35:56Speaker 3: I fucking can't stand.
- 35:57Speaker 2: He's a nudge, Yeah what he is. He's a nudge.
- 36:01Speaker 3: He's a nerd. He's like the teacher told us to
- 36:04Speaker 3: be quiet, like shut the fuck.
- 36:05Speaker 2: Up, shut up, dork nark. I love it.
- 36:11Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, Brian mccannon stinks. And guess what said
- 36:14Speaker 1: of the Philadelphia seventy six ers.
- 36:16Speaker 2: Boy, they stink.
- 36:18Speaker 1: And I know we're gonna be getting into our discussion
- 36:21Speaker 1: and interview with our good friend of the show, Harrison
- 36:24Speaker 1: Grimm from Libertyballers dot Com in just a bit to
- 36:28Speaker 1: really dive into this disaster of a sixer season. But uh,
- 36:33Speaker 1: article came out this past week Eric about the team meeting.
- 36:37Speaker 1: Somebody leaked it of course, uh was picked up by ESPN.
- 36:42Speaker 1: Excuse me, and it just like once again, Joe El
- 36:45Speaker 1: Embiid just looks like he's just not the leader of
- 36:49Speaker 1: this team. Tyrese Maxey comes out of this looking good,
- 36:52Speaker 1: as he usually does, because I think Tyris Maxey in
- 36:55Speaker 1: general is like a not only a decent person, but
- 36:59Speaker 1: he's there for the team, like he cares so much.
- 37:02Speaker 1: Like that's what I got out of it. And meanwhile
- 37:05Speaker 1: he's he's he's challenging Joel Embiid to show up, show
- 37:11Speaker 1: up on time for things. You know, when you're the
- 37:14Speaker 1: face of the franchise, there are just certain responsibilities that
- 37:18Speaker 1: you have. And I'm not gonna say that Embiid isn't
- 37:22Speaker 1: taking things seriously in terms of who he is, his
- 37:26Speaker 1: position with this team. And yes, he's gone through some
- 37:29Speaker 1: personal stuff this year. However, you're Joel Embiid. You know
- 37:35Speaker 1: you've gotten to this point in your career. And I
- 37:37Speaker 1: feel like it's kind of one of the same themes
- 37:39Speaker 1: that we're just kind of talking about that gets recycled
- 37:42Speaker 1: over and over again with Embiid and this this is
- 37:46Speaker 1: the dirty fucking laundry kind of coming out here, and
- 37:49Speaker 1: it doesn't bode well for this season and really where
- 37:52Speaker 1: this franchise is gonna end up going, I think in general,
- 37:54Speaker 1: So I don't know, what were your thoughts, buddy when
- 37:57Speaker 1: you when you heard this, because I was just like,
- 37:59Speaker 1: I was like, of course, of course this is happening.
- 38:03Speaker 3: Well, I mean, I won't go too far into it
- 38:07Speaker 3: because I think down the road, when this becomes a
- 38:11Speaker 3: complete fucking disaster and after they fire the coach and
- 38:15Speaker 3: things start to really come out, we'll have a show.
- 38:18Speaker 3: It's like way more Sixers focused.
- 38:20Speaker 1: Yeah, but they got three guys sorry, real quick, they
- 38:23Speaker 1: got three guys on max contracts for a little while here.
- 38:27Speaker 3: Oh, this is the team. They don't know how many options.
- 38:30Speaker 3: And when they gave him be that extension, I think
- 38:32Speaker 3: on the show we were kind of positive about it.
- 38:34Speaker 3: It's like, Okay, he's gonna be He's going to come
- 38:37Speaker 3: back from the Olympics and he's going to become a leader.
- 38:39Speaker 3: He got the money, he's going to be here for
- 38:40Speaker 3: a while because we're all scared. He wanted to take
- 38:42Speaker 3: off and leave after you know, having a really good
- 38:45Speaker 3: year altho although injury prone, which oh my god, I
- 38:47Speaker 3: can't believe that right right, you basically made him untradable
- 38:53Speaker 3: with that extension. Now, like he has a player option
- 38:56Speaker 3: for seventy million dollars in twenty twenty eight, twenty nine.
- 39:00Speaker 3: Who the fuck wants to trade for that unless you're
- 39:02Speaker 3: a team star for a superstar. But even if you
- 39:05Speaker 3: do trade for him, because of the money, you're not
- 39:08Speaker 3: getting anything back. You're not gonna like if you can
- 39:11Speaker 3: treat him the Hornets because they're dying for a superstar
- 39:13Speaker 3: outside of Lamello, like you might get a late first rounder. Yeah, player,
- 39:20Speaker 3: you're not getting much back because they're taking on all
- 39:21Speaker 3: that cash, and he would fuck their chemistry up anyway,
- 39:25Speaker 3: like he really would, Like like trading for him doesn't
- 39:28Speaker 3: make sense now because he looks like a shell of himself.
- 39:31Speaker 3: He might come back and play better. But two thoughts
- 39:35Speaker 3: right away, I'm really happy that MAXI got paid. He
- 39:40Speaker 3: deserved it every penny. And I like the fact that
- 39:44Speaker 3: he finally challenged this guy. He's like, Hey, we're the
- 39:47Speaker 3: same now, Like I'm not your little brother, Like I'm
- 39:49Speaker 3: a superstar and so were you. I see myself at
- 39:52Speaker 3: the same level. We're both making the same pay. I'm
- 39:54Speaker 3: showing up, You're not fuck you.
- 39:57Speaker 4: Like.
- 39:57Speaker 3: I love that he did that. And you knew I
- 39:59Speaker 3: was gonna get leaked all those fucking meetings going somebody
- 40:03Speaker 3: in that locker room. Who knows who it was, but
- 40:08Speaker 3: love that he did that challenged him. Paul George is
- 40:10Speaker 3: not that kind of guy. He's never been a stand up,
- 40:12Speaker 3: like I'm gonna take over kind of person. Yeah, he's
- 40:15Speaker 3: not leader, no, but I think Max he is. And
- 40:19Speaker 3: the coach is dreadful, like they're not playing well. That
- 40:24Speaker 3: that's true and beads. They're trying to bring m beat
- 40:26Speaker 3: back into the fold. Maxie was hurt, but Nick nurse
- 40:28Speaker 3: is coaching is fucking suck this year. Like he's not
- 40:32Speaker 3: making the right rotations. He's the offense is stale. They're
- 40:36Speaker 3: kind of doing the same thing when McCain was out there.
- 40:38Speaker 3: I love that he's scoring like twenty five points a game.
- 40:40Speaker 3: That's great, but that's all they got. Yeah, and he's
- 40:43Speaker 3: not working all these new pieces in like they're supposed to.
- 40:45Speaker 3: Like I think before the season started, I'm like they
- 40:47Speaker 3: brought in guys that know their role and know their position. Uh,
- 40:51Speaker 3: what's his name? Eric? Eric Gordon go Ye, he's got
- 40:55Speaker 3: he's got veterans, and a good coach should be able
- 40:58Speaker 3: to win a couple of games with the pieces they
- 41:00Speaker 3: had against some of the teams they played like they
- 41:03Speaker 3: played the Grizzlies tonight without John Moran. They lost to
- 41:06Speaker 3: them by I think like six points. They lost to
- 41:08Speaker 3: the Grizzlies like two weeks ago by seventeen points. It's
- 41:12Speaker 3: just it's just a poorly run team. And I really
- 41:16Speaker 3: think Nurse is gonna be the first domino to fall
- 41:18Speaker 3: because you can't. You can't, and Be's not gonna fall.
- 41:21Speaker 4: No, and.
- 41:24Speaker 3: And that's that's the fault of this franchise. They've always
- 41:27Speaker 3: given him carte blanche. He's never had to answer for anything. Yeah,
- 41:31Speaker 3: Jimmy Butler called out Ben Simmons back in the day
- 41:33Speaker 3: and he got fucking shipped out of town. Yeah, for me,
- 41:37Speaker 3: he might have been talking about both of them. We
- 41:38Speaker 3: have no idea like that. They weren't showing up on time.
- 41:41Speaker 3: They were they didn't give a fuck. I'm sure you're
- 41:44Speaker 3: talking about Ben, but maybe the little piece of him
- 41:46Speaker 3: was like young Bee might be the kind of the
- 41:47Speaker 3: same way. But of course I think Nick is gonna go.
- 41:51Speaker 3: They're gonna have to make some move soon because this
- 41:53Speaker 3: is a complete dez that. I don't have many teams
- 41:55Speaker 3: to made the playoffs after starting two and twelve. Yeah,
- 41:57Speaker 3: I'm sure, the number is not good. And even if
- 41:59Speaker 3: you do get into this re you've already lost twelve
- 42:02Speaker 3: games and you haven't played too much of the schedule yet,
- 42:05Speaker 3: the tough part of the schedule. So what are you
- 42:08Speaker 3: looking at a playing with it with a team that
- 42:11Speaker 3: you even set up front, we're here for the playoffs.
- 42:14Speaker 3: We're gonna rest and we're gearing up for the playoffs.
- 42:17Speaker 3: You may not even fucking get into the playoffs, and
- 42:20Speaker 3: if you do, you're in a play and then you're
- 42:22Speaker 3: playing the Celtics who are gonna kill you. Yeah, yeah,
- 42:25Speaker 3: this is this couldn't have gone more wrong for a
- 42:30Speaker 3: season that should have been fucking like the fact that
- 42:32Speaker 3: they were able to get Paul George off free agency.
- 42:35Speaker 3: That never happens when you save cap room, ever, and
- 42:38Speaker 3: you brought in all these really good pieces and Maxie
- 42:40Speaker 3: makes the jump. They should be fucking twelve and two
- 42:43Speaker 3: and not two and twelve. And I do kind of
- 42:45Speaker 3: blame the coach a little bit, like you should be
- 42:47Speaker 3: able to should have been able to win three or
- 42:50Speaker 3: four of those games with the pieces he had when
- 42:51Speaker 3: Maxi was healthy, And maybe he's just not a good
- 42:54Speaker 3: coach anymore.
- 42:55Speaker 2: Maybe it's not.
- 42:55Speaker 1: Look, I'm gonna ask Harrison about Nick Nurse in particular
- 42:59Speaker 1: because of the team meeting. In the team meeting, it
- 43:02Speaker 1: was said Nick Nurse isn't challenging us enough. And then
- 43:05Speaker 1: Nick Nurse apparently said in that meeting that the guys
- 43:08Speaker 1: just they're not going through like the fundamentals during practice.
- 43:12Speaker 1: They're not taking practice seriously. You know, So there's obviously yeah, exactly, yeah.
- 43:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:20Speaker 3: It's wild to me when like coaches like, well, you're
- 43:22Speaker 3: not doing it. You're in charge the point fingers, you
- 43:27Speaker 3: don't take practice seriously. I coached SIF, I coached sifth
- 43:31Speaker 3: graders for me to go there and seeing there and
- 43:33Speaker 3: be like, we guys aren't taking as seriously, like that's
- 43:37Speaker 3: my fault.
- 43:37Speaker 1: Right right, like crazy, like it's so amazing. Going from
- 43:41Speaker 1: Doc Rivers to Nick Nurse. We were like thank God
- 43:43Speaker 1: for Nick. We're like God, thank god they brought him in.
- 43:46Speaker 1: Thank god we had to deal with we had to
- 43:47Speaker 1: deal with what three four seasons of Doc Rivers and now.
- 43:51Speaker 3: He was good last year. He was a good coach
- 43:53Speaker 3: last year. Yes, I mean it was obvious right away,
- 43:56Speaker 3: like wow, we have a real coach. This is this
- 43:58Speaker 3: is no joke anymore, doc let The doc was too
- 44:02Speaker 3: veteran laden, he was too easy on the superstars. Nick
- 44:05Speaker 3: Nurse came in and made him work. Not happening this year,
- 44:07Speaker 3: you could just you can see it on the court.
- 44:09Speaker 1: But is that a reflection of somebody like Embiid, who
- 44:12Speaker 1: obviously is having some major issues this year? Like, is
- 44:15Speaker 1: it a reflection of Embid? Because of what you said,
- 44:18Speaker 1: the organization just giving him carte blanche to basically do
- 44:22Speaker 1: whatever he wants. Last year, Embid's playing well, He's just
- 44:26Speaker 1: playing at an incredibly even higher level than his MVP year.
- 44:31Speaker 1: So Nick Nurse is like, okay, you know, you know
- 44:33Speaker 1: what am I gonna What am I gonna do? Tell
- 44:34Speaker 1: him to get to the get to the practice. You know,
- 44:37Speaker 1: fifteen minutes early here the guy's absolutely murdering. So I
- 44:40Speaker 1: don't but I see what you're saying. Yeah he should though,
- 44:44Speaker 1: Yes he should.
- 44:45Speaker 3: Yes, they paid you like what eight million dollars ten
- 44:49Speaker 3: million dollars to coach the team.
- 44:50Speaker 2: Yeah, you have it.
- 44:52Speaker 3: You have a title in your resume, you come in
- 44:54Speaker 3: with like some some cachet. You should be able to
- 44:57Speaker 3: come in and be like, hey, you need to work harder. Yes, like,
- 45:00Speaker 3: what the fuck, dude, Well, absolutely.
- 45:02Speaker 1: This year. I think you may have misunderstood what I
- 45:04Speaker 1: was saying, Like last year, last year when he was
- 45:06Speaker 1: having that incredible season where Nick Nurse is probably like listen,
- 45:10Speaker 1: he's coming a half hour late or something like that.
- 45:12Speaker 1: But man, this guy's having a freaking great season. I'm
- 45:14Speaker 1: not gonna address it. So he doesn't address it all year.
- 45:17Speaker 1: We get to this year and it's a rollover from
- 45:20Speaker 1: last year where he's like, oh shit, now the guy's
- 45:23Speaker 1: completely a disaster here with his health and with maybe
- 45:26Speaker 1: where he is mentally.
- 45:28Speaker 4: Shit.
- 45:29Speaker 3: I kind of set the precedent, but that's what I'm
- 45:31Speaker 3: saying though. Ye last year, he should have came in
- 45:33Speaker 3: and been like I'm in fucking charge. Yeah, yeah, you're
- 45:36Speaker 3: gonna play harder. We're like, you won so and so
- 45:40Speaker 3: many games, We're winning more games. I don't give a
- 45:42Speaker 3: fuck about the MVP. I'm here to win titles, right,
- 45:45Speaker 3: And he should have taken by the reins and told that,
- 45:48Speaker 3: told the franchise I'm the fucking boss now, like, I'm
- 45:51Speaker 3: gonna push this guy to the limit. He pushed Maxi,
- 45:54Speaker 3: and Maxie responded, yeah, he should have pushed him. B
- 45:57Speaker 3: last year, and he sure give him days of rest.
- 46:00Speaker 3: Get it. He's a big fucking dude, And unfortunately, what
- 46:03Speaker 3: I think we're seeing is he's kind of lost control
- 46:07Speaker 3: of the team because he didn't do it last year
- 46:09Speaker 3: and and be it. Unfortunately, he's thirty years old and
- 46:12Speaker 3: maybe he's heading into the next wave of his career
- 46:15Speaker 3: where he can't bully ball. And he took all jumping.
- 46:20Speaker 3: I watch only the second half of the games. I
- 46:21Speaker 3: had practice tonight. Yeah, as far as I could tell,
- 46:25Speaker 3: every fucking shot in b me was from the foul
- 46:27Speaker 3: line out to the three point line. Basically, yeah, you're
- 46:29Speaker 3: seven too, Okay, Yeah, I understand you're a good jump shooter,
- 46:34Speaker 3: but that's what Paul George and MAXI do exactly. You
- 46:37Speaker 3: don't need you to fucking do that exactly. Your specialty
- 46:39Speaker 3: is to get in there and you can fucking pull
- 46:42Speaker 3: a defense out to make a three, but also clears
- 46:44Speaker 3: the lane for you because you have good shooters every year.
- 46:48Speaker 3: I'm I coach kids, but I even as a fan
- 46:52Speaker 3: who understands the game you watch, you're like, this is
- 46:54Speaker 3: not working. It's not it's poorly constructed and behind the scenes, obviously,
- 47:00Speaker 3: how long did Maxie want to fucking do that. By
- 47:01Speaker 3: the way, I know, I know, I got a feeling
- 47:04Speaker 3: at some point last year, even when they were winning.
- 47:06Speaker 3: He was like, Man, I'm I'm gonna get paid, I
- 47:10Speaker 3: know it, and I'm watching this motherfucker show up an
- 47:13Speaker 3: hour late for practice for games. I'm Harry fucking Day
- 47:16Speaker 3: working my ass off and we're gonna be making the
- 47:19Speaker 3: same money. I'm gonna fucking say something soon. And this
- 47:22Speaker 3: was the per opportunity. But I guarantee you that started
- 47:25Speaker 3: last year. Maxie was watching this ship, going the fuck
- 47:28Speaker 3: is this? I work ass off? It's just not cool
- 47:31Speaker 3: at all.
- 47:31Speaker 1: Yeah, well, we're gonna keep following this ship at the
- 47:36Speaker 1: show and I'm being cool about it because I'm a
- 47:39Speaker 1: huge SIXUS.
- 47:40Speaker 3: You are very disappointed, but I didn't see this coming.
- 47:45Speaker 3: It's really sad to watch, and it's not getting bad.
- 47:49Speaker 3: I don't see a road out. That's the problem. That's
- 47:53Speaker 3: the scary part is I have no idea how to
- 47:55Speaker 3: fix this.
- 47:56Speaker 2: Mentally.
- 47:56Speaker 1: This team's not there mentally, the team and the coaching
- 47:58Speaker 1: and even the organization that mentally they're not there.
- 48:01Speaker 2: To get it fixed right now. So I all right,
- 48:04Speaker 2: we're gonna I'm gonna.
- 48:05Speaker 4: Let you go.
- 48:08Speaker 3: Before you like, before we end the show, just to
- 48:12Speaker 3: give you even better synopsis on the season. Our first
- 48:15Speaker 3: round pick next year is only top top six protected,
- 48:18Speaker 3: that's right. Yeah, so if we go seven or below,
- 48:21Speaker 3: if we win just enough games to get like the
- 48:24Speaker 3: seventh pick, seventh pick, it goes to Okay, see, yes,
- 48:28Speaker 3: who's destroying the whole league right, because's some dumb ship
- 48:31Speaker 3: trade we made ten years of whatever the fuck it was.
- 48:33Speaker 3: I didn't even look at the tree because I don't
- 48:34Speaker 3: even want to know what ship ball player we traded
- 48:37Speaker 3: away or traded for to get rid of that pick
- 48:40Speaker 3: right next year, because it'll really depressed me. Yeah, that's
- 48:44Speaker 3: if we don't want to the top six, we lose
- 48:46Speaker 3: the pick.
- 48:47Speaker 2: Guess what we're losing the pick we're going to.
- 48:50Speaker 3: We're gonna win just enough games to wind up out
- 48:52Speaker 3: of the top six.
- 48:52Speaker 2: Ye, that's how.
- 48:54Speaker 1: That's how it's gonna be the kick of the nuts.
- 48:55Speaker 1: That's what's gonna happen for sure. All right, buddy, I'm
- 48:58Speaker 1: gonna let you go far. Folks, Subscribe on whatever podcast
- 49:02Speaker 1: platform you're on, and follow us on Blue Sky, Blue Sky.

- 49:17Speaker 1: in just a bit. All right, we are back. It's
- 49:21Speaker 1: getting more Sixers talk here. It's what we're thrown down
- 49:23Speaker 1: on the table and now on the table. Joining us
- 49:29Speaker 1: now to get into this Philadelphia seventy six ers team
- 49:32Speaker 1: from Libertyballers dot com. You know we love our sp
- 49:34Speaker 1: nation sites. You can find him on the Twitter slash
- 49:38Speaker 1: x at Harrison Underscore Grim. We've got the one and
- 49:41Speaker 1: only Harrison Grim buddy.
- 49:42Speaker 5: How you doing, man, I'm doing pretty well, Jeff. I
- 49:45Speaker 5: always love talking Sixers with you. Appreciate you having me on,
- 49:49Speaker 5: even even if we got some negative topics to address
- 49:52Speaker 5: this episode.
- 49:53Speaker 1: Look, we've been wanting to get into this Sixers team
- 49:56Speaker 1: in more detail and like even the negative stuff that
- 49:59Speaker 1: has been going on with this team. And like we
- 50:01Speaker 1: said before we hit the record button, it's like, you
- 50:03Speaker 1: know what, we're looking forward to talking about this team.
- 50:06Speaker 1: But man, what happened yesterday the news that hit and
- 50:09Speaker 1: broke with regard to this team. My co host Eric
- 50:12Speaker 1: and I were just talking about this entire situation. So
- 50:17Speaker 1: let's dive into the team meeting that we all have
- 50:20Speaker 1: heard about, all of US Sixers fans know about and
- 50:23Speaker 1: have read about. Joel Embiid was called out by Tyrese
- 50:26Speaker 1: Maxey for being chronically late to just about everything related
- 50:30Speaker 1: to the team and just how it reflects on the team.
- 50:34Speaker 1: Just such a terrible look for a team that is
- 50:36Speaker 1: just absolutely doing nothing on the court this year. And
- 50:40Speaker 1: of course this dirty laundry comes out as this team
- 50:42Speaker 1: is really having their worst season basically in the past decade. Here, Harrison, like,
- 50:47Speaker 1: what were your initial thoughts and you know, what does
- 50:50Speaker 1: it mean for this team moving forward?
- 50:51Speaker 4: Here? Yeah, so I think there's really two sides of it.
- 50:56Speaker 5: I think with Joel it's very possible on a personal
- 50:59Speaker 5: level that maybe he is going through some stuff, and
- 51:02Speaker 5: when people go through stuff, it can sometimes downgrade their
- 51:06Speaker 5: work related performance in a way. Yeah, obviously this season
- 51:11Speaker 5: hasn't started like it was supposed to. You know, they're
- 51:13Speaker 5: two and eleven at the time of this recording. Joelle
- 51:17Speaker 5: did not play right away for the season. He was
- 51:19Speaker 5: not ready for the season. And then there was also
- 51:22Speaker 5: all the Marcus Hayes stuff, So I do think it's
- 51:24Speaker 5: important to look at it from that perspective. But on
- 51:27Speaker 5: the other hand, anybody who has spent any time around
- 51:30Speaker 5: the team has seen this stuff kind of play out Joelle,
- 51:34Speaker 5: you know, not always being on time, arriving late to games,
- 51:38Speaker 5: that type of thing. And as the franchise face, there
- 51:42Speaker 5: is a really big duty for Joel to be the
- 51:46Speaker 5: franchise face and really take the first steps foward when
- 51:50Speaker 5: it comes to practices or that type of thing. And
- 51:53Speaker 5: in the past, I mean, Joelle was averaging last year
- 51:57Speaker 5: thirty five in the ten of games.
- 51:58Speaker 4: So when someone's doing that, you're not you're not going.
- 52:00Speaker 5: To critique, you know, how they approach their their work
- 52:03Speaker 5: right necessarily obviously, Yeah, obviously this year it's a little
- 52:08Speaker 5: bit different. Joelle's numbers across the board are down, the
- 52:12Speaker 5: team obviously isn't performing that well, and there's some urgency,
- 52:17Speaker 5: and I think you really saw it with Kyle Lowry
- 52:21Speaker 5: calling this meeting, as well as as Tyree's Maxley kind
- 52:24Speaker 5: of stepping up and telling Joel like, hey, like we
- 52:27Speaker 5: really gotta set some some steps in the motion here
- 52:31Speaker 5: and and kind of take a more serious approach to
- 52:34Speaker 5: our work because the season is slipping away. And I
- 52:37Speaker 5: do appreciate Tyree's being the one to say that he's
- 52:41Speaker 5: only a twenty four year old kid. He's younger than me,
- 52:44Speaker 5: and and I'll tell you what, at twenty four, I
- 52:46Speaker 5: don't know if I was as mature.
- 52:47Speaker 4: As Tyrese is. And yeah, that really speaks volumes.
- 52:51Speaker 5: And I do think when when you look at the
- 52:54Speaker 5: locker room as a whole, obviously Paul George is the
- 52:57Speaker 5: third big name here and he's too new to the
- 53:00Speaker 5: point where I don't think he can be the guy
- 53:02Speaker 5: to kind of stand up and be like, listen, Joelle,
- 53:04Speaker 5: like we gotta address some stuff. I think, Yeah, hearing
- 53:07Speaker 5: this message from Tyree's is where it needed to come from.
- 53:11Speaker 5: It obviously does need to be said because the Sixers
- 53:14Speaker 5: to this point have underperformed and you know, we'll see
- 53:17Speaker 5: tonight with this Grizzlies game, depending on whether or not
- 53:21Speaker 5: Tyree's plays, if they can get the big three on
- 53:23Speaker 5: the floor and kind of put things.
- 53:26Speaker 4: In the right motion.
- 53:28Speaker 1: Absolutely, Harrison, you mentioned one word, and I kind of
- 53:31Speaker 1: want to expound upon it a little bit, and that's urgency.
- 53:35Speaker 1: I think when it comes to Joel Embiid and his
- 53:38Speaker 1: years in a Sixers jersey. There has always been that
- 53:41Speaker 1: feeling of urgency with him, and a feeling too as
- 53:46Speaker 1: it relates to the urgency of what type of Joel
- 53:48Speaker 1: Embid are we going to get? Like, what type of
- 53:50Speaker 1: Joel Embiid is not only going to show up to
- 53:52Speaker 1: the court or show up on the court, but what
- 53:55Speaker 1: kind of Joel Embiid are we gonna hear about in
- 53:57Speaker 1: the locker room outside the confines of the wells far
- 54:01Speaker 1: how he's doing with his nutrition, weight, you know, keeping
- 54:04Speaker 1: his weight where it needs to be, all this stuff
- 54:06Speaker 1: that comes with being the face of the franchise and
- 54:10Speaker 1: that sense of urgency that you talked about, it just
- 54:13Speaker 1: doesn't seem like it's there right now.
- 54:14Speaker 2: And maybe not with him.
- 54:15Speaker 1: And like you said, maybe there's some personal stuff going
- 54:17Speaker 1: along with this that we don't know about that we
- 54:20Speaker 1: are not going to find out about probably, and I
- 54:23Speaker 1: think that's fair. But the sense of urgency of what
- 54:26Speaker 1: the Sixers front office did during this offseason, and yes
- 54:30Speaker 1: there have been some unfortunate injuries, especially with Paul George
- 54:33Speaker 1: right before the season started, it just I hear that
- 54:38Speaker 1: word urgency and I'm like, I feel like we've been
- 54:39Speaker 1: feeling it a lot with joe El Embiid over these years,
- 54:43Speaker 1: and there's got to be a lot of pressure on him.
- 54:45Speaker 1: There has to be a lot of pressure on him.
- 54:47Speaker 1: But still, you are the face of the franchise in
- 54:51Speaker 1: a league where there's only so many teams, so many
- 54:54Speaker 1: potential MVP candidates that can help take your team to
- 54:58Speaker 1: that next level. The urgency at it's got to be
- 55:00Speaker 1: there for Joel Embiid, regardless of what may be happening
- 55:03Speaker 1: outside the confines of the Wells Fargo Center. In my opinion,
- 55:06Speaker 1: I don't know what are your thoughts.
- 55:08Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I feel like the whole Embid era there.
- 55:12Speaker 5: Has always been kind of a sense of urgency, not
- 55:15Speaker 5: because of Joelle underperforming or anything like that, but just
- 55:18Speaker 5: because he does get hurt a lot, and obviously injuries
- 55:22Speaker 5: can pile up and it can affect your career.
- 55:24Speaker 4: Obviously, Joelle now is.
- 55:27Speaker 5: Age thirty, he's about to enter his twilight years, and
- 55:30Speaker 5: the Sixers really opened up a two to three year
- 55:33Speaker 5: window by signing Paul George. So you're only going to
- 55:36Speaker 5: get so many shots at the ultimate goal, which is
- 55:39Speaker 5: an NBA championship. So while there's been a sense of
- 55:43Speaker 5: urgency kind of felt basically since Joelle got here.
- 55:47Speaker 4: You saw it with the Jimmy Butler trade.
- 55:49Speaker 5: That was them speeding up the timeline and so many
- 55:52Speaker 5: other trades, the James Harden the trade. This is really
- 55:55Speaker 5: the last Barrah of the embiid era. This is probably
- 55:59Speaker 5: the last chance that they're gonna get with Joel as
- 56:02Speaker 5: the best player to seriously compete for a title. Yeah,
- 56:05Speaker 5: and time is limited, then we'll see. I'm sure Joel
- 56:09Speaker 5: will play better. To this point, he's a rhythm guy.
- 56:13Speaker 5: He hasn't really found his rhythm. Obviously he's coming back
- 56:17Speaker 5: from from an injury or whatever you want to call it.
- 56:20Speaker 5: But the urgency certainly is piling up, for sure.
- 56:24Speaker 2: It is for sure.
- 56:25Speaker 1: Well to keep talking about this team meeting that was
- 56:29Speaker 1: reported about, I wanted to kind of like reflect on
- 56:33Speaker 1: some of the news that came out with regard to
- 56:34Speaker 1: Nick Nurse in the coaching, whether it's his coaching, and
- 56:38Speaker 1: how some of the players were not necessarily happy about
- 56:41Speaker 1: how he's not pushing them, and also Nick Nurse not
- 56:44Speaker 1: necessarily happy about the level of I guess you would
- 56:47Speaker 1: say dedication that the team in general is giving like
- 56:51Speaker 1: during practices and understanding what the urgency is. So I'm
- 56:56Speaker 1: wondering how does this meeting reflect on Nick Nurse in
- 57:00Speaker 1: general from a coaching standpoint, and really how effective he
- 57:05Speaker 1: can truly be for this team. What are your thoughts here?
- 57:08Speaker 5: Yeah, I think everything said in this meeting to an
- 57:12Speaker 5: extent is a little bit alarming. But I think this
- 57:15Speaker 5: is the part that really kind of stuck out as
- 57:17Speaker 5: a big question mark for me, not even necessarily Tyree's
- 57:20Speaker 5: holding Joelle accountable and telling him it needs to be better,
- 57:23Speaker 5: which was the headline of the whole thing. It's kind
- 57:26Speaker 5: of interesting that the players feel that way. In my mind,
- 57:29Speaker 5: the players get paid a lot of money to be
- 57:32Speaker 5: professionals and perform to the best of their ability, and
- 57:35Speaker 5: that means not just with games, but with practices and
- 57:37Speaker 5: everything that they're under contract to do. So, so hearing that,
- 57:42Speaker 5: especially from a roster that is pretty new, there's there's
- 57:47Speaker 5: a lot of new faces here this year that we're
- 57:50Speaker 5: in here last year. It's somewhat alarming, and I'm not
- 57:54Speaker 5: it's difficult to say like which players pointed that out right,
- 57:59Speaker 5: but it's certainly something to kind of keep an eye on.
- 58:02Speaker 4: Nick nerves. Obviously there are some issues.
- 58:04Speaker 5: In Toronto, some that might have been his fault, some
- 58:08Speaker 5: that might not been might not have been his fault,
- 58:12Speaker 5: So it's something to keep an eye on for sure.
- 58:15Speaker 5: That's probably the most questionable part about the whole report
- 58:18Speaker 5: in my opinion.
- 58:19Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Well, as of us recording this here
- 58:22Speaker 1: on Wednesday night, November twentieth, you know, we still haven't
- 58:26Speaker 1: gotten a consistent look at Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and
- 58:31Speaker 1: Paul George playing together. We've been we've been clamoring for
- 58:34Speaker 1: that as a fan base, and once this starts happening
- 58:38Speaker 1: over time, Harrison, I'm wondering, do you think that we're
- 58:41Speaker 1: gonna end up seeing a different type of Sixers team
- 58:43Speaker 1: than what we have seen now? And of course I
- 58:46Speaker 1: think the answer is yes. But you know, if so,
- 58:50Speaker 1: how might it look different? Even given this these reports
- 58:54Speaker 1: that have been coming out as well. I mean, we've
- 58:56Speaker 1: all been psyched to see these three guys on the
- 58:58Speaker 1: court together, and now with news coming out, I feel
- 59:01Speaker 1: like the balloon is just that much more deflated here.
- 59:04Speaker 1: But do you think we're gonna end up seeing a
- 59:06Speaker 1: different Sixers team where they can really kind of write
- 59:08Speaker 1: this ship.
- 59:10Speaker 5: I think just from a talent perspective, having those three
- 59:12Speaker 5: on the court, plus McCain, who has been excellent, yeah,
- 59:15Speaker 5: is gonna be a huge boost. And often in this league,
- 59:19Speaker 5: talent wins championships, sometimes even over chemistry. When it comes
- 59:23Speaker 5: to those three guys, Obviously, on paper they're really good fits,
- 59:26Speaker 5: but I think they might struggle off the rip kind
- 59:29Speaker 5: of figuring out who to defer to win. We kind
- 59:34Speaker 5: of saw a little bit of that when ty Resee
- 59:36Speaker 5: was playing with Paul George, where Paul George was kind
- 59:38Speaker 5: of taking shots down the clutch when ty Resee was cooking,
- 59:42Speaker 5: and that's not really what you want to see.
- 59:44Speaker 4: So I think that's gonna be something to see here.
- 59:46Speaker 5: And unfortunately we're thirteen games in or so and they
- 59:51Speaker 5: haven't really had a chance to develop that or really.
- 59:55Speaker 4: Much of anything at this point. Yeah, but I do
- 59:57Speaker 4: think once those three.
- 59:58Speaker 5: Are on the court, maybe even tonight against the Memphis Grizzlies,
- 1:00:02Speaker 5: we'll see if Tyrese Maxie returns, just having that talent
- 1:00:07Speaker 5: will be a huge boost and not having to rely
- 1:00:09Speaker 5: on guys like Kyle Lowry who's been starting, or you
- 1:00:13Speaker 5: can go down the bench even Jeff Dowden not stretching
- 1:00:17Speaker 5: those guys. Then I think it will be a really
- 1:00:20Speaker 5: big boost for the team. It's just a question of
- 1:00:22Speaker 5: how quickly can they develop this chemistry together.
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, that's gonna be key for sure.
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: Again, folks, we're talking to Harrison Grim from Libertyballers dot Com.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: Check out everything they have going on over there, and
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: also make sure you're following Harrison on the Twitter slash
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: x at Harrison Underscore Grim and Buddy, I don't know
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: are you over on Big Sky at all, because I
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: know a bunch of us have been getting on over there.
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: Are you on Big Sky yet?
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: I wonder fantastic, So we're gonna gotta search them out
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: on Big Sky. I'm not sure if we're following each
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: other yet. Like it's been I've been on Blue Sky
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: look for like a year, a year and a half,
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: you know, took a break this past week back into
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: full steam ahead.
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: So I know I'm definitely gonna have to follow you
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: and everybody else should too.
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: So it's a new experience. It's a new experience, you know,
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: it really is.
- 1:01:09Speaker 5: Sure, it's a great platform, and it's been great seeing
- 1:01:12Speaker 5: just how much of the Sixers Twitter community has slowly
- 1:01:16Speaker 5: kind of leaked over there, and it's cool to see.
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely, all right, Well, you know you mentioned Kyle Lowry,
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: and I wanted to get into Kyle Lowry because he's
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: gonna be missing three games with a hip injury. And look,
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: while he may not be the most important cog on
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: this team, I think Kyle Lowry brings a set that
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: veteran presence to this team for some of the younger guys.
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: You know, you see him during timeouts. He's really trying
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: to give some direction to some of the younger guys,
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: and I like what his presence has been on this
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: Sixers team. I'm wondering how concerned should we be And
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: I know it's only three games, but how concern should
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: we be about this injury here? You know, given his age,
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: and really, how does it How does it affect the team?
- 1:01:58Speaker 5: And maybe in the near term, you know, this this
- 1:02:02Speaker 5: is another test where their death is going to be tested. No,
- 1:02:06Speaker 5: Kyle Lowry and now I know, like he wasn't playing
- 1:02:09Speaker 5: the best. He's in the middle of a pretty bad
- 1:02:11Speaker 5: Cole Spells shooting wise, but let's face it, Kyle Lowry
- 1:02:15Speaker 5: is a starter at his age just isn't feasible as
- 1:02:18Speaker 5: a backup or you know, even a backup to a backup.
- 1:02:22Speaker 5: He's great, and I do think the team will miss
- 1:02:24Speaker 5: his presence to a certain extent. You're either gonna see
- 1:02:29Speaker 5: guys like Jared McCain getting more on ball opportunities, which
- 1:02:32Speaker 5: he may or may not be ready for. We've seen
- 1:02:34Speaker 5: kind of glimpses of his passing game, and we've seen
- 1:02:37Speaker 5: him struggle as well.
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: Another guy that they're gonna have.
- 1:02:41Speaker 5: To lean on his Reggie Jackson, who has certainly been
- 1:02:44Speaker 5: a little bit of of a roller coaster since he's
- 1:02:46Speaker 5: done here. We see some hot shooting performances, just crazy
- 1:02:51Speaker 5: like moments where he goes hoop mixtape mode and does
- 1:02:55Speaker 5: a billion crossovers and then books a shot. So so
- 1:03:00Speaker 5: so they're gonna have to lean on guys like that,
- 1:03:03Speaker 5: And you know, if Reggie Jackson is able to step up,
- 1:03:07Speaker 5: it's not gonna be that big of a deal, Or
- 1:03:09Speaker 5: if Jared McCain is able to fill that on ball roll,
- 1:03:12Speaker 5: it's not gonna be a big deal. But if either
- 1:03:14Speaker 5: one of those guys struggled, you're certainly gonna miss Kyle
- 1:03:17Speaker 5: Lowry for sure.
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, it's a good saying.
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: Jared McCain's a good segue into this next question and
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: topic I wanted to dive into with you, Harrison, And
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: I wonder if if Jared McCain may be your answer here,
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: because it's it's tough to find bright spots with this
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: team at this point in the season, as we know,
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: just a disaster thus far. But if you had to
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: pick a bright spot, what would that bright spot be?
- 1:03:38Speaker 4: And why?
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: For me? Jared McCain, I'm wondering if that's same answer
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: you would give.
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: So what's your bright spot so far on this team?
- 1:03:46Speaker 4: I think Jared McCain is the only answer, honestly. I mean,
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: I mean, I.
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: Don't know if I was missing something, you know.
- 1:03:52Speaker 4: Yeah, no, no, no. Jered McCain's been a delight.
- 1:03:56Speaker 5: He's someone that I scouted with Riddy Ballers along with
- 1:04:01Speaker 5: Paul haw Dred, my colleague. He was someone we really
- 1:04:04Speaker 5: liked a lot, just the offensive refinement. He's a very
- 1:04:08Speaker 5: complete offensive player, which obviously you and other Sixer fans
- 1:04:11Speaker 5: have seen to this point, and I think he's going
- 1:04:15Speaker 5: to continue to get better. I truthfully did not expect
- 1:04:18Speaker 5: him to be anything like what he is. His first year,
- 1:04:21Speaker 5: he really kind of struggled in Summer League, was streaking
- 1:04:24Speaker 5: Summer League, didn't really.
- 1:04:25Speaker 4: Pop too much in training camp.
- 1:04:27Speaker 5: It kind of looked like he was going to get
- 1:04:29Speaker 5: some G League reps, and all of a sudden, Tyree's
- 1:04:31Speaker 5: goes down. They got to lean on him, and he's
- 1:04:33Speaker 5: not only kind of met the call, he's really exceeded
- 1:04:36Speaker 5: expectations for a twenty year old. And it's gonna be
- 1:04:39Speaker 5: fun seeing whenever Tyreese comes back, just how those two
- 1:04:43Speaker 5: can can kind of mesh on the court.
- 1:04:45Speaker 4: Offensively, I think it's going to be really good.
- 1:04:47Speaker 5: You got Tyreez who has after burners obviously is a
- 1:04:51Speaker 5: capable shooter, and Jared McCain, who kind of thrives more
- 1:04:54Speaker 5: as a perimeter player. It's going to be interesting to
- 1:04:58Speaker 5: navigate that from a defensive standpoint, just because it's two
- 1:05:01Speaker 5: guards who are pretty small. I am a bit optimistic
- 1:05:06Speaker 5: about Jared McCain's outlook defensively, I'm just not sure how
- 1:05:11Speaker 5: quick he can become an averager plus defender.
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: I was going to ask you about his defense and
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: where you see the development of that going.
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: Yeah, So he's a.
- 1:05:21Speaker 5: Really interesting player from a defensive standpoint, and having someone
- 1:05:26Speaker 5: like Kyle Lowry around him I think is going to
- 1:05:28Speaker 5: be really beneficial because Kyle's like McCain. He's a smaller
- 1:05:33Speaker 5: guard who has done well as a post defender. And
- 1:05:37Speaker 5: we've seen, albeit in very limited sample sizes, that Jared
- 1:05:42Speaker 5: McCain is comfortable bodying people up in the post to
- 1:05:45Speaker 5: a certain extent, most notably in the overtime Pacers win
- 1:05:50Speaker 5: he switched on to Pascal Siakam and.
- 1:05:52Speaker 4: Held his own.
- 1:05:53Speaker 5: Yeah, I'd like to see them experiment more with that.
- 1:05:56Speaker 5: I think what you're gonna see probably for this year
- 1:05:59Speaker 5: is they're just to stick him on shooters or negative
- 1:06:03Speaker 5: offensive players and you know, just try to grow his
- 1:06:07Speaker 5: defensive game as time goes on. But that's something where
- 1:06:12Speaker 5: I'm glad Kyle is around. I truly think he can
- 1:06:15Speaker 5: learn a lot from Kyle's someone who like he's just ripped,
- 1:06:20Speaker 5: like like his legs are just huge. He's got a
- 1:06:23Speaker 5: good center corps. I would like to see them experiment
- 1:06:27Speaker 5: with that more, and you very well might. Who knows,
- 1:06:29Speaker 5: Nick Nurse is known for trying a lot of different things,
- 1:06:32Speaker 5: and maybe that's a maybe that's.
- 1:06:34Speaker 4: A pathway to keep getting him these big minutes.
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it's gonna be interesting to see how he develops.
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: You know, we were talking about Tyrese Maxey over these years,
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: how's he going to develop? And I don't know, I
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: don't know if it's a you know, Daryl Morey, you know,
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: drafting just the these guys that have some sort of
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: you know, diamond in the rough.
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: Type of capabilities and skills.
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: But it's been nice to see some guys draft on
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: this team that have been surprising to us Sixers fans
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: over the years. But before I let you go, Harrison,
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: I did want to kind of, like from an overall standpoint,
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: really get into, you know, just where the team leadership
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: is gonna be going with the Sixers, especially after the
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: story and just how this season is going, because I
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: feel like this team really is at a crossroads in
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: a lot of different ways. So when we reflect on
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: the team meeting reports and just how the team has
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: performed this season, who do you believe is gonna be
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: the real team leaders here as we move forward?
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: And why? I mean is it? Indeed?
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: I mean Maxi certainly seems to be one, But who
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: are those team leaders that we really need to start?
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: Like honing in on to say they're gonna be the
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: face of this franchise moving forward.
- 1:07:43Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, that's a great question.
- 1:07:45Speaker 5: I think Tyrese is someone who has he talked about
- 1:07:48Speaker 5: it at the beginning of the year. He wants to
- 1:07:50Speaker 5: be more vocal, he wants to be a guy constantly
- 1:07:53Speaker 5: people's ears, pushing them to be better. And I definitely
- 1:07:56Speaker 5: think you're gonna see that and listen, like everyone is
- 1:08:00Speaker 5: is focused on Tyrese being like Joelle, like you gotta
- 1:08:03Speaker 5: be on time, that type of thing. Let's face it,
- 1:08:05Speaker 5: like that's just the truth and someone needs to say it,
- 1:08:08Speaker 5: and Tyree said it. And that's where leadership comes from,
- 1:08:13Speaker 5: people saying what needs to be said, not necessarily what
- 1:08:16Speaker 5: people like to hear, but what needs to be said.
- 1:08:19Speaker 5: And I also think you might see a leadership role
- 1:08:22Speaker 5: from Kyle Lowry, who's obviously been around the league for
- 1:08:25Speaker 5: a long time.
- 1:08:27Speaker 4: Obviously, I didn't mention.
- 1:08:29Speaker 5: Joel there, And you know, that's a tricky thing to
- 1:08:33Speaker 5: navigate because on paper, you want your best player to
- 1:08:37Speaker 5: lead the team, obviously, but just doesn't seem like Joelle
- 1:08:42Speaker 5: is really hardwired that way. It seems like he's kind
- 1:08:45Speaker 5: of more of an introvert. I know everyone sees the
- 1:08:48Speaker 5: trolling and the on court antics, but that's just not
- 1:08:52Speaker 5: really who Joelle is as a person, and.
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: One line persona is much different than a persona face
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: to face with somebody or in person.
- 1:09:00Speaker 4: It just is.
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: That's what we've learned over these years.
- 1:09:03Speaker 4: For sure.
- 1:09:03Speaker 5: And I know people might be disappointed to hear that
- 1:09:06Speaker 5: or think Joelle needs to be the leader, but I
- 1:09:10Speaker 5: don't necessarily think that's the case. I think it's good
- 1:09:13Speaker 5: to have one of your better players to be the
- 1:09:16Speaker 5: vocal guy. And it seems like Tyree is willing to
- 1:09:19Speaker 5: kind of take that torch and move forward if you will.
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: Yeah, well, it was a great discussion again, folks. Harrison
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: grim from Libertyballers dot com, Buddy, it was great talking
