- 0:08Speaker 1: and we hold the.
- 0:09Speaker 2: World ransom for excuse me while i whip this out.
- 0:14Speaker 3: Broadcasting live in atlanta georgia this this is the sports
- 0:20Speaker 3: truck show.
- 0:20Speaker 4: With wayne dandy Welcome, welcome, welcome!
- 0:46Speaker 2: You're listening to the Sports Shock Show. I am the
- 0:49Speaker 2: Sports Shock Wayne Gandy. Good morning to you here on
- 0:52Speaker 2: the first day of October 2026. September really, really, really
- 0:59Speaker 2: went fast. I don't know. It's just football season is
- 1:03Speaker 2: so much and so great to be in. But September,
- 1:08Speaker 2: I can't really remember. 30 days just really blew by.
- 1:14Speaker 2: And we are here, October, and a lot is going
- 1:18Speaker 2: on in sports. We're glad to be here with you
- 1:22Speaker 2: on this morning when you look at it. Thursday night football.
- 1:26Speaker 2: The Steelers. The Browns. On a short week. News out
- 1:32Speaker 2: of Pittsburgh. Their star cornerback, Joey Porter Jr., being traded
- 1:38Speaker 2: to the Cowboys. Joey Porter Jr. had not. played for
- 1:43Speaker 2: the Steelers this season, contract dispute. And I do a
- 1:47Speaker 2: Steelers squad show every Wednesday night at eight o'clock. So
- 1:52Speaker 2: last night this had not happened because we didn't report
- 1:55Speaker 2: over it. But I did mention, and the one thing
- 1:59Speaker 2: with all this drama with Joey Porter Jr. is that
- 2:05Speaker 2: it's not necessarily anyone's fault. It's just how certain teams
- 2:13Speaker 2: and the position that you play for certain teams, they
- 2:19Speaker 2: don't pay every position traditionally. So you look at the
- 2:26Speaker 2: team that traded for Joey Porter Jr., well, the Cowboys
- 2:29Speaker 2: traditionally pay wide receivers. They pay cornerbacks. Those are, you know,
- 2:39Speaker 2: they kind of fickled with running backs. When it's time
- 2:43Speaker 2: for the running back to really get his money, eh.
- 2:49Speaker 2: That's just really how they are. It's the same with linebackers.
- 2:52Speaker 2: They don't really, but they will pay you if you're
- 2:54Speaker 2: a corner. They will pay you if you're a receiver
- 2:57Speaker 2: and a quarterback. The Steelers are more outside linebackers, defensive lineman,
- 3:03Speaker 2: O-line quarterback. They don't really like to pay if you,
- 3:06Speaker 2: that's why they have a rotation. Who's the Steelers wide receiver?
- 3:13Speaker 2: They okay with that second-tier corner. They're not in a rush.
- 3:17Speaker 2: They don't feel like the cornerback affects the game enough
- 3:22Speaker 2: in their mind as a rush in does. So they
- 3:29Speaker 2: really don't pay the position, and that is what I
- 3:32Speaker 2: was trying to say, and that's what staged that. You
- 3:35Speaker 2: got teams that believe in the cornerback. like the Lions
- 3:40Speaker 2: and the Cowboys, even here with the Atlanta Falcons, they'll
- 3:43Speaker 2: pay a corner. They don't have, but there are certain positions.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Your team is specific on how they structure under Jerry
- 3:51Speaker 2: Jones or under the Rooney family. They just have never
- 3:55Speaker 2: been one of those teams that's going to pay that
- 3:57Speaker 2: top dollar. Congratulations, Comanche Greg. Got you a corner.
- 4:02Speaker 5: Well, like I said, when I came in this morning,
- 4:05Speaker 5: it doesn't solve anything. Our defense is still pretty bad.
- 4:11Speaker 5: One corner isn't going to change it. But at least
- 4:15Speaker 5: we have one. Now we need to fill out the rest.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Of the secondary. Well, you got to start. Well, you have.
- 4:21Speaker 2: We got to start somewhere. Well, you have Joey Porter Jr.
- 4:23Speaker 2: You got Caleb. You have Caleb down. That's safety that
- 4:27Speaker 2: you just drafted. One side that should do their job.
- 4:30Speaker 2: I'm trying to build something for you, Greg.
- 4:33Speaker 6: Can we say you didn't. really get one corner, you
- 4:36Speaker 6: got Joey Porter Jr. I'm saying he's different, though. I mean,
- 4:41Speaker 6: he's good.
- 4:42Speaker 2: I think this is third year. Fourth year.
- 4:46Speaker 6: Would he inspire you if he was at the corner? Okay,
- 4:50Speaker 6: Joey got that.
- 4:54Speaker 2: But there's still like 10 other players on the field
- 4:58Speaker 2: at that time. But each of them will have an
- 5:00Speaker 2: elevation in confidence. He might cover his guy, but the
- 5:03Speaker 2: guy on the other side leaves the guy wide open.
- 5:05Speaker 2: But Greg, here's the deal. The Cowboys are always trying
- 5:09Speaker 2: to win from the offensive side of the ball. The
- 5:12Speaker 2: money is only spent a certain way.
- 5:16Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Oh, I've seen that. So for you to have Pickens
- 5:21Speaker 2: and CeeDee Lamb and Dak and an expensive offensive line,
- 5:27Speaker 2: then that means that defensively, the Cowboys find themselves like
- 5:32Speaker 2: the Atlanta Falcons do a lot of times. The Atlanta Falcons,
- 5:38Speaker 2: at least before the Matt Ryan regime, we'll see where
- 5:41Speaker 2: Matt takes the team. But under Matt Ryan... was always
- 5:46Speaker 2: trying to win offensively. That's how their whole mind was.
- 5:51Speaker 2: We're going to outscore. And it's a philosophy. So all
- 5:55Speaker 2: I'm saying out there, everybody's individual fans, find out what
- 5:59Speaker 2: your true team philosophy is, and then you'll see why
- 6:02Speaker 2: they make certain moves. They don't consistently make the move.
- 6:06Speaker 2: I mean, it's not like you can't find an example
- 6:10Speaker 2: where the rule wasn't applied. But find out where they
- 6:16Speaker 2: truly like to go. The 49ers like to win. Have
- 6:22Speaker 2: a deep history at that position. Right. Of where they
- 6:25Speaker 2: like to put the money. And that's what will help
- 6:28Speaker 2: you understand when a move is made, how they're going
- 6:32Speaker 2: to make that move. But good morning out there. Game
- 6:36Speaker 2: three tonight. Fever.
- 6:39Speaker 8: Aces.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Out in Vegas. Great game the other night. We'll talk
- 6:45Speaker 2: about Asia Wilson, who made a move the other night
- 6:52Speaker 2: in the game. Surprised me because mainly it is Asia Wilson,
- 6:58Speaker 2: but blew up at a fan. We'll see. Did these
- 7:01Speaker 2: guys agree with her action or even the lack of
- 7:06Speaker 2: action by the WNBA? Okay. and Major League Baseball, the
- 7:12Speaker 2: Braves-Phillies today in this closeout game for this series. Closeout game, yes,
- 7:19Speaker 2: it is. So game three, the Phillies-Braves today at 2 o'clock.
- 7:26Speaker 2: And what else happened last night? The Atlanta Dream, they
- 7:29Speaker 2: closed out their series, so now Sunday they will play
- 7:32Speaker 2: the Liberty in one of the conference finals. And then
- 7:37Speaker 2: we are... Back to another week of college football. College football.
- 7:48Speaker 8: NFL.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Football as well.
- 7:50Speaker 6: Brother Eric Badger said y'all need to trade bad producer.
- 7:55Speaker 2: You got to find a team that'll take him. A
- 7:58Speaker 2: team that'll take him. And he got to be able
- 8:00Speaker 2: to pass a drug test. You see what I'm saying?
- 8:04Speaker 2: Bad producer?
- 8:05Speaker 9: Hey.
- 8:08Speaker 2: When you hear things like that, you know, how do you... Man,
- 8:12Speaker 2: I'm a duck, man. It roll off my back. I
- 8:14Speaker 2: ain't worried about nothing like that. What rolls off your back?
- 8:16Speaker 2: Whatever comes. The water. Rain, sunshine, whatever. Sunshine, you know.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Hold on. I think we got a trade off. Everybody
- 8:34Speaker 2: got haters. The NFL are slashing ticket prices over in London.
- 8:38Speaker 2: They're in London this Sunday. The Indianapolis Colts versus the Commanders.
- 8:45Speaker 2: How much is this, you think? London just kind of
- 8:49Speaker 2: falling out of love with the spectacle? Or is it, guys,
- 8:53Speaker 2: just the product that the NFL is going to have
- 8:56Speaker 2: to make sure it's two of the six or seven
- 9:02Speaker 2: brand names when they send teams? You know, you're thinking, oh,
- 9:08Speaker 2: maybe we've made enough weight with them that we can
- 9:12Speaker 2: send any matchup. Right, right. You got it. But they
- 9:17Speaker 2: want Dallas-San Francisco. They want that kind of game. You
- 9:22Speaker 2: thought that NFL would be enough to draw them. But no,
- 9:26Speaker 2: they want the division leaders. They want the Super Bowl contenders.
- 9:33Speaker 2: They want the Super Bowl halftime show. That's what London wants.
- 9:38Speaker 2: London wants a Super Bowl.
- 9:39Speaker 6: Yeah, they want the entertainment. Yeah, they want the... The
- 9:43Speaker 6: whole experience. They're not cool with just a regular game.
- 9:46Speaker 6: They could get that at Wembley at any time. But
- 9:50Speaker 6: to bring us a Super Bowl, to bring us the
- 9:54Speaker 6: divisional playoffs, something like that.
- 9:57Speaker 10: And I had to be a Super Bowl. I don't
- 9:59Speaker 10: even think they would. turn up for a playoff final.
- 10:01Speaker 11: Well, I think I only said that because of the
- 10:06Speaker 11: American outcry for them to leap from just games abroad to, okay,
- 10:11Speaker 11: we're going to do a Super Bowl in London.
- 10:12Speaker 5: Do you think it's come from, like I mentioned last week,
- 10:16Speaker 5: that they send Jacksonville every year to London? That because, well,
- 10:22Speaker 5: we've had some success with sending Jacksonville, we can send anybody.
- 10:27Speaker 5: And it doesn't matter what their situation might be. They
- 10:31Speaker 5: probably saw this and thought, okay, Daniel Jones, Jaden Daniels.
- 10:37Speaker 5: Jaden Daniels won't be playing, but it would. I mean,
- 10:42Speaker 5: there's enough, like the London fans will look up who
- 10:46Speaker 5: these players are, even if they don't know who they are.
- 10:49Speaker 5: and be interested enough just because it's NFL. Well, you
- 10:53Speaker 5: have to send them someone, in my opinion, that they
- 10:55Speaker 5: don't have to look up. You still have to imagine
- 10:58Speaker 5: they're in a country.
- 10:59Speaker 2: That there's still a limit to how they see the
- 11:04Speaker 2: sport outside of being a true fan of it. Yeah, sure,
- 11:09Speaker 2: you can get the YouTube package and watch any game
- 11:11Speaker 2: you want to, but I need to send it to
- 11:13Speaker 2: the general fan.
- 11:15Speaker 12: So.
- 11:16Speaker 2: If I'm sending them the coats, who am I sending them? Yeah.
- 11:21Speaker 2: If I send them the commander, especially without Jaden Daniels,
- 11:24Speaker 2: and I don't know that Jaden Daniels has built a
- 11:26Speaker 2: following yet to deserve someone running out for these ticket prices.
- 11:35Speaker 2: The big thing also is those that have already purchased
- 11:39Speaker 2: tickets are a little upset. Oh, now you're going to
- 11:44Speaker 2: drop them to $ 22. Now you're dropping the prices. Oh,
- 11:46Speaker 2: now they're $ 22. I paid $ 100. They want that Walmart,
- 11:50Speaker 2: that Home Depot type thing. Price match. Price match. Oh,
- 11:55Speaker 2: for real? So we will see how, and I just
- 11:58Speaker 2: think that, but Greg, to answer your question with Jacksonville
- 12:00Speaker 2: as we go to break, you can send Jacksonville enough
- 12:04Speaker 2: that they start accepting Jacksonville as kind of like their
- 12:08Speaker 2: team to cheer for. But it would have to be
- 12:12Speaker 2: Jacksonville still versus someone they would just kind of know.
- 12:20Speaker 2: Like the European League, we casual fans in America know
- 12:25Speaker 2: two or three teams that It'll be United. You know,
- 12:28Speaker 2: but we wouldn't know the other 15. We just know
- 12:33Speaker 2: the three. And if one of those three come, we
- 12:36Speaker 2: might watch it. Manchester City, Manchester United. So sending me
- 12:41Speaker 2: the Dublin so-and-so, I've never heard of them. That kind
- 12:45Speaker 2: of situation. And I'm not going to Google that many players.
- 12:48Speaker 2: We'll be back. More of the Sports Jock Show. Asia
- 12:51Speaker 2: Wilson on deck. Who else? Phil Mickelson back in rehab
- 12:56Speaker 2: and much more. I ain't judging. Because we done all
- 12:59Speaker 2: went to rehab multiple times. Am I right? Don't go away.
- 13:15Speaker 12: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gamby is
- 13:18Speaker 12: coming up next.
- 13:24Speaker 13: Returning military vets. They've served our country at home and abroad.
- 13:28Speaker 13: They've slept in tanks, foxholes, and even out in the weather.
- 13:32Speaker 13: They've had our backs.
- 13:34Speaker 2: We have theirs.
- 13:34Speaker 4: The Sports Chalk Man of Honor, Mr.

- 14:20Speaker 14: Talking about guns with others might not always feel comfortable,
- 14:23Speaker 14: but it could save a life. Here's a way to
- 14:25Speaker 14: start a conversation. Your family is going over to your
- 14:28Speaker 14: neighbor's home for dinner for the first time. How would
- 14:31Speaker 14: you ask if there are any unlocked guns in the home?
- 14:33Speaker 2: Hey!
- 14:34Speaker 15: Hey, we're so excited for tonight. Before we come over, though,
- 14:37Speaker 15: may I ask if there are any unlocked guns in
- 14:39Speaker 15: your home?
- 14:40Speaker 16: Our guns are stored securely, locked in a safe that
- 14:43Speaker 16: the kids can't access.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Awesome.
- 14:46Speaker 14: Learn how to have the conversation at agree2agree. org, brought to
- 14:49Speaker 14: you by the Ad Council.
- 14:51Speaker 17: There's danger out there. It lurks on highways and quiet
- 14:54Speaker 17: neighborhood streets. It's more likely to kill you than a
- 14:56Speaker 17: shark and more terrifying than the biggest snake. Distracted driving
- 15:01Speaker 17: claims lives every day. Every notification, swipe, social post, video,
- 15:05Speaker 17: or selfie while driving risks your life. So while you
- 15:09Speaker 17: might think public speaking or the zombie apocalypse is scary,
- 15:12Speaker 17: what's really terrifying and even deadly is distracted driving.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Eyes forward.
- 15:17Speaker 17: Don't drive distracted.
- 15:19Speaker 18: Brought to you by NHTSA and the Ad Council.
- 15:22Speaker 8: And now, back to the sports jar, Wayne Ganty.
- 15:27Speaker 13: The Jock of the Day is sponsored by MattressHeroesUSA.com.
- 15:31Speaker 4: The sleep you deserve at a price you can afford.
- 15:35Speaker 13: Now, it's time to present the Jock of the Day
- 15:38Speaker 13: on the Sports Jock Show.
- 15:39Speaker 8: He's taking it to a completely different level this year.
- 15:42Speaker 13: Where we highlight an athlete that has taken their game
- 15:45Speaker 13: to the next level.
- 15:48Speaker 19: What up, dawg?
- 15:51Speaker 2: What up, dawg? What up, we done?
- 15:53Speaker 8: What up, we done? What up, we done?
- 15:55Speaker 2: What up, we done? What up, we done? Welcome back
- 16:09Speaker 2: to the Sports Talk Show. I'm the Sports Talk Wayne Gandy.
- 16:11Speaker 2: Good morning to you out there in listening land. Comanche
- 16:14Speaker 2: Greg McKinney, the bad producer, all in the building with
- 16:17Speaker 2: me today. WNBA game three tonight, 9 p.m. Thursday night football, Steelers,
- 16:26Speaker 2: Browns in that game. Talked about Joey Porter Jr. being
- 16:31Speaker 2: traded to Dallas. Asia Wilson and the Aces went to Indiana.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Kaitlin Clark, brilliant in that game, 27 points, 15 assists,
- 16:43Speaker 2: seven rebounds. First game, Asia Wilson went for 38 right
- 16:51Speaker 2: after receiving her fourth MVP.
- 16:54Speaker 12: MVP.
- 16:55Speaker 2: So you had three of the top five MVP voters
- 17:01Speaker 2: playing in this series when you throw in Kelsey Mitchell
- 17:05Speaker 2: in there as well. I could have really seen how
- 17:08Speaker 2: the WNBA would have given this to Kelsey Mitchell over
- 17:14Speaker 2: Asia Wilson this season as far as the impact that
- 17:21Speaker 2: she had in the run she went on where she
- 17:25Speaker 2: Scored over 20 points for a record. Broke Asia Wilson's record,
- 17:31Speaker 2: where I think she scored like 30 times in a row.
- 17:35Speaker 2: At least it was some kind of crazy number. So
- 17:38Speaker 2: she broke Asia Wilson's like 20-point record. So it should
- 17:45Speaker 2: be a great game tonight. But out of game two
- 17:48Speaker 2: in Indiana, late in the game, Asia Wilson got a–
- 17:55Speaker 2: Foul called on Sophie Cunningham and one of the fans
- 18:00Speaker 2: kind of behind the basket actually pointed at Asia Wilson.
- 18:08Speaker 2: Asia Wilson was about at the free throw line, which
- 18:12Speaker 2: was interesting when you watched the clip. I was watching
- 18:14Speaker 2: the game live and she reacted to the pointing and
- 18:22Speaker 2: actually walked from the free throw line to the first
- 18:28Speaker 2: row of where the fans were sitting because the gentleman
- 18:35Speaker 2: that was pointing was in the second row behind the basket.
- 18:40Speaker 2: She was given a technical foul and the arena did
- 18:46Speaker 2: an investigation by asking the fans around the gentleman looking
- 18:50Speaker 2: at the tape and decided that the fan had not
- 18:56Speaker 2: broken any kind of rule to put him out. So
- 19:03Speaker 2: we kind of saw this in the Natasha Cloud when
- 19:06Speaker 2: she went from half court to address Enos Cantor with
- 19:12Speaker 2: his T-shirt. I mean, he was on the other side
- 19:15Speaker 2: of the court. She walked all the way down there.
- 19:17Speaker 2: I'm very surprised, guys, that Asia was not ejected because
- 19:22Speaker 2: I kept thinking... What does the NBA typically do in
- 19:26Speaker 2: this situation? Players going after fans typically is an ejection
- 19:32Speaker 2: and a possible fine or a suspension for the next game.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Neither in the Natasha Cloud situation that happened nor this
- 19:44Speaker 2: Asia Wilson situation were there any suspension. First and foremost,
- 19:53Speaker 2: let me ask you, did you watch the game or
- 19:55Speaker 2: did you at least see the clip? Yeah, I saw
- 19:58Speaker 2: the clip. And your impressions of the clip?
- 20:02Speaker 6: I just refreshed myself. myself with the clip watching it.
- 20:09Speaker 6: And for me, for me, it's the distance traveled to
- 20:15Speaker 6: confront a fan. Now in the clip from the angle
- 20:18Speaker 6: that I see it, you can see whoever this fan
- 20:21Speaker 6: is sitting with, have someone get up and actually pull
- 20:24Speaker 6: him back. Like you need to sit down and she
- 20:27Speaker 6: still goes to engage with him in an aggressive manner.
- 20:31Speaker 6: And it's the distance for me. I mean, if I'm
- 20:34Speaker 6: standing here and you standing behind me and you say
- 20:36Speaker 6: something and I turn around, okay. But for me to one, two, three, four, eight, nine,
- 20:42Speaker 6: 12 steps to get to you. And now we beefing.
- 20:46Speaker 6: And each time we, I remember the protected species comment
- 20:53Speaker 6: and people got upset, but we, we see this and
- 20:56Speaker 6: we're questioning again, why is it different in the WNBA?
- 21:01Speaker 6: Why is it different if a NBA player, as much
- 21:05Speaker 6: as said something aggressive to a fan, they would be
- 21:09Speaker 6: suspended at least one game?
- 21:12Speaker 5: I just saw the clip, and for those who are
- 21:16Speaker 5: watching on Facebook Live, you've seen the clip in its entirety. Yeah,
- 21:25Speaker 5: there's a long walk to that. Do that fan.
- 21:29Speaker 2: It was so long, as Big Kenny is pointing out,
- 21:32Speaker 2: by the time she got there, the guy was sitting down. Again.
- 21:35Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. Somebody correcting his whole action.
- 21:38Speaker 8: Like, hey, man, sit down.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Okay, my bad.
- 21:40Speaker 5: So it should have been over. I don't know if
- 21:42Speaker 5: something else was said. Yeah, she went over on some
- 21:45Speaker 5: don't sit down now. But she went all the way,
- 21:47Speaker 5: you know, got all the way in his face. So,
- 21:51Speaker 5: you know, that's the letter of the rule as far as, like,
- 21:55Speaker 5: interacting with a fan in that way. then a suspension
- 21:58Speaker 5: could be warranted. Why is she protected? She's the MVP
- 22:02Speaker 5: of the league, and the WNBA needs all the eyes
- 22:07Speaker 5: on these games as they can get. So I think
- 22:10Speaker 5: they're going to be selective about any kind of discipline.
- 22:15Speaker 2: Bad producer? Yeah, the walk, that's the only thing that
- 22:20Speaker 2: disturbed me.
- 22:20Speaker 10: If it was like he was right up under the
- 22:22Speaker 10: basket where the foul actually took place, then y'all had
- 22:25Speaker 10: some verbiage going back and forth. I wouldn't probably just interaction.
- 22:30Speaker 2: But she took a walk.
- 22:32Speaker 10: And you think about Enos Cantor and his situation. Think
- 22:36Speaker 10: about when a young lady walked all the way there
- 22:39Speaker 10: to him. But he got removed. The fan didn't get removed.
- 22:44Speaker 10: They found out the fan did not. No, they brought
- 22:46Speaker 10: the fan back. I didn't know. They brought him back
- 22:49Speaker 10: in the game. They figured out that they talked to him.
- 22:51Speaker 10: They did an investigation. He didn't say anything wrong to
- 22:54Speaker 10: people around him. So he was brought back, but Enos
- 22:56Speaker 10: Kanter was removed. So, you know, you got two different
- 23:00Speaker 10: situations in this scenario. So going forward, it's going to
- 23:05Speaker 10: be a lot of scrutiny.
- 23:07Speaker 6: WNBA playoffs. I'm glad that I wasn't the only one confused.
- 23:11Speaker 6: Comanche Greg, you helped me zone in on the fact
- 23:14Speaker 6: that initially I heard that the fan was ejected.
- 23:16Speaker 2: No, he was not ejected. He was not ejected. He
- 23:18Speaker 2: was never even removed from his seat. They removed him.
- 23:22Speaker 2: They talked to him. The security people came there and talked.
- 23:28Speaker 2: They just stood him up back here. They didn't walk
- 23:32Speaker 2: him to the concession stand. They just asked him to
- 23:34Speaker 2: step back. They went and talked to the people there.
- 23:37Speaker 2: He was actually already standing. So he didn't stand up
- 23:42Speaker 2: to point. He was standing when the foul occurred and
- 23:46Speaker 2: he pointed. She didn't have any verbiage. I doubt that
- 23:49Speaker 2: she could even hear him from there. Which makes it
- 23:51Speaker 2: even more unhinged. And she got to the press conference
- 23:54Speaker 2: and said, a man can't point at me. Oh, see.
- 23:58Speaker 2: Y'all don't know me. Y'all don't know me. A man
- 24:04Speaker 2: cannot point at me. Stop going to the game, fellas.
- 24:09Speaker 2: We got to stop going to the game. And that
- 24:11Speaker 2: still didn't get a suspension. No. And she had teammates
- 24:15Speaker 2: that ran over there to get in front of her
- 24:18Speaker 2: in this gentleman's face. We'll be back with more of
- 24:23Speaker 2: the Sports Jock Show right after this. I'm going to
- 24:25Speaker 2: let her jump me at the bar. Let me see that, Greg.
- 24:27Speaker 2: You sure? You sure?
- 24:29Speaker 8: Legit now, I ain't got a lot of no judge.
- 24:31Speaker 8: I make hits now, money I flip now. Hood fella,
- 24:34Speaker 8: every honey want a kiss now. I lit up my neck,
- 24:36Speaker 8: pinky and wrist.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Don't go away.

- 24:53Speaker 4: When was the last time you reached out for help?
- 24:57Speaker 20: If you or someone you know needs resources, whether it's

- 26:07Speaker 13: Nobody had to tell your grandparents not to drive while
- 26:09Speaker 13: using their typewriters.
- 26:23Speaker 21: Why should it be any different for us kids and
- 26:25Speaker 21: our cell phones? Distracted driving was the cause of more
- 26:28Speaker 21: than 3,000 deaths in 2022. Come on, we're smarter than this.
- 26:33Speaker 21: Let's put down the phones and focus on the roads.
- 26:36Speaker 21: Drive safe, everybody.
- 26:39Speaker 22: Don't drive distracted. A message brought to you by the
- 26:41Speaker 22: National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Project Yellow Light, and the

- 26:48Speaker 8: And now, back to the sports jar, Wayne Ganty.
- 26:58Speaker 23: If you want someone You can do the same.
- 27:28Speaker 2: Welcome back to the Sports Shock Show. I'm the Sports
- 27:31Speaker 2: Shock Wayne again. The former NASCAR driver ordered to pay $ 850, 000
- 27:39Speaker 2: to a man's ex-wife after their alleged affair. Jennifer Jo
- 27:53Speaker 2: Cobb sued back in 2024. Now on the hook to
- 28:05Speaker 2: pay out almost a million dollars. And I'm reporting on
- 28:09Speaker 2: this because the closest thing we saw was back in
- 28:12Speaker 2: 2017 with Fletcher Cox. You remember the defensive tackle from
- 28:18Speaker 2: the Eagles?
- 28:19Speaker 21: Yes.
- 28:20Speaker 2: He was sued by a husband. Yes. For sleeping with
- 28:27Speaker 2: his wife.
- 28:28Speaker 7: Yes.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Fletcher did settle at the mediation for some we don't
- 28:34Speaker 2: know because in the books in the state of North Carolina,
- 28:39Speaker 2: it's still there by law. You can be charged for adultery.
- 28:44Speaker 2: The person who sleeps with the married person, Fletcher was
- 28:50Speaker 2: able to prove in his case, at least he was
- 28:55Speaker 2: not aware that the lady That he slept with was married.
- 29:02Speaker 2: In this case, it seems for the 850, Cobb. Should
- 29:09Speaker 2: have got some film. Jennifer Cobb. 850, come on, bro.
- 29:14Speaker 2: We're going to straighten this. Actually knew that this lady
- 29:21Speaker 2: was married. She slept with this lady's husband. And now
- 29:26Speaker 2: she owes 850. What state was it? This was in
- 29:31Speaker 2: Davidson County. North Carolina judge ordered NASCAR driver Jennifer Jo
- 29:37Speaker 2: Cobb to pay nearly a million dollars. to a woman
- 29:42Speaker 2: who claimed the stock car racer had an affair with
- 29:46Speaker 2: her husband, which ended their marriage. Is this a tool
- 29:52Speaker 2: that maybe we need to bring back for adultery? You
- 29:57Speaker 2: should be able to sue? Two thoughts. The person who
- 30:01Speaker 2: sleeps with your spouse? Is this a deterrent? The state
- 30:06Speaker 2: of North Carolina agrees. Two thoughts, Sports Jock.
- 30:09Speaker 6: It seems, number one, $ 850, 000 is a hell of a deterrent.
- 30:15Speaker 6: Number two, who even knew that Jennifer Jo Cobb had $ 850, 000?
- 30:21Speaker 2: She a stock car driver. That just goes to show
- 30:24Speaker 2: you how successful you can be in that industry. Well-
- 30:27Speaker 2: this could be wages like anything.
- 30:29Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 30:31Speaker 2: Forever forever for her lifetime. Yeah. It could be until
- 30:34Speaker 2: you pay it. Now, do you.
- 30:37Speaker 6: Think that if people, if society allows for the reinstitution
- 30:44Speaker 6: of this nationwide.
- 30:45Speaker 2: No, as I'm saying, it will get worse. To me,
- 30:49Speaker 2: it is. To me, it sounds like it would be.
- 30:51Speaker 2: I know the couple next door is married. I go
- 30:55Speaker 2: sleep with that man's wife. Now you owe him. Or
- 30:59Speaker 2: and vice versa. I sleep with her husband knowing they're married.
- 31:05Speaker 2: Not only can she or he divorce that person, they
- 31:09Speaker 2: also can get the 850. From you. From me. Because
- 31:15Speaker 2: to me, it should be a flat rate. I'm saying that.
- 31:20Speaker 2: Everybody should already know what they're going to owe. There
- 31:24Speaker 2: is no, all the person has to prove is that
- 31:27Speaker 2: you knew I was married. Well, that's one part of
- 31:33Speaker 2: it according to the filings here. So $ 25, 000 is for the.
- 31:36Speaker 5: Alienation of affection and another $ 25, 000 in punitive damages and
- 31:39Speaker 5: then the $ 800, 000 is in criminal conversation claims which I
- 31:53Speaker 5: guess are the text messages and all the communication.
- 31:57Speaker 2: Yeah, however you draw it up. However you draw it up.
- 32:00Speaker 8: The 850.
- 32:00Speaker 2: My wife. Will the 850 deter you? Your wife is
- 32:04Speaker 2: far less attractive if she's going to cost me $ 850, 000.
- 32:07Speaker 2: I become way less of an option for anybody who's
- 32:14Speaker 2: going to have to pony up. 850 just for a date?
- 32:19Speaker 6: Just for some control. Some consensual stuff, no. I think
- 32:23Speaker 6: it would be a great deterrent. I honestly think it would. Comanche,
- 32:26Speaker 6: will it work? It should work. What percentage fades? What
- 32:34Speaker 6: would be that number? If 100 people are married, what
- 32:41Speaker 6: percentage in 50 right now.
- 32:44Speaker 2: Are doing it? How much of that 50 gets shortened? 35.
- 32:48Speaker 2: 35 minimum. So we down to just 15. They're going
- 32:56Speaker 2: to think they can get away with it. 15 with
- 32:59Speaker 2: five of them tipping real light. They're going to think
- 33:03Speaker 2: they can get away with it. Because they got emotions
- 33:06Speaker 2: involved in it. You know what I'm saying? Probably all
- 33:08Speaker 2: of them, if they're willing, they think they can get
- 33:10Speaker 2: away with it. Like, well, if I just do this. No,
- 33:12Speaker 2: that's what I'm saying. We're going to scoot out of town.
- 33:14Speaker 2: We're going to leave our stick around. We have 100 people.
- 33:16Speaker 17: 50.
- 33:16Speaker 2: 50 couples. Are doing it. No, no, no, no. Oh,
- 33:20Speaker 2: if it's 100 couples. It's 100 couples. 50 couples are
- 33:24Speaker 2: already going through this. How much of the 50? And
- 33:28Speaker 2: I'm just using 50 because the divorce rate has always
- 33:31Speaker 2: hovered over 50. So that's why I use 50. So
- 33:34Speaker 2: how much of the 50 that's doing wrong gets cut out?
- 33:39Speaker 2: But Kenny says 35. Oh, like how much of them
- 33:42Speaker 2: will stop?
- 33:43Speaker 22: Yes.
- 33:44Speaker 2: Oh, zero. Zero percent. So the 50 are going to
- 33:48Speaker 2: continue to do it?
- 33:49Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 33:49Speaker 2: They're going to think they can get away with it.
- 33:53Speaker 2: They're already doing it.
- 33:54Speaker 10: I'll say 10%. Because they're going to, I'm like, well,
- 33:59Speaker 10: 10% because they're going to think about ways to go
- 34:02Speaker 10: around and about.
- 34:05Speaker 6: Y'all not thinking. Y'all not thinking like, see, this is
- 34:09Speaker 6: what you don't understand. And I can tell that you're
- 34:12Speaker 6: single because your mindset is, is wrapped around separate assets
- 34:17Speaker 6: and property and all of that.
- 34:19Speaker 2: I can do that.
- 34:20Speaker 6: I'm talking about at the end of the day, when
- 34:23Speaker 6: the dark and the light meet and you get caught, automatically,
- 34:28Speaker 6: you know, we ain't got to do no filing charges
- 34:32Speaker 6: and coming up with no bills.
- 34:34Speaker 2: We got to go to court. I want to make sure.
- 34:36Speaker 2: I just want to make sure. Because Big Kenny seems
- 34:39Speaker 2: to have getting it. I want to make sure. Comanche Gregg.
- 34:44Speaker 2: Bad producer. Would you cheat with a married woman knowing
- 34:54Speaker 2: that the husband, if you are found cheating, you owe
- 35:01Speaker 2: him $ 850, 000? Yes or no? Personally, no. Bad producer. I'm
- 35:11Speaker 2: personally no, but depending on the net worth... This is
- 35:15Speaker 2: why I don't like it. Your net worth. You're the
- 35:18Speaker 2: one who's paying the 850. You would be paying the 850. Oh, well, no,
- 35:21Speaker 2: I ain't doing that. That's why I don't think they're grasping.
- 35:25Speaker 2: They seem to be adding in a whole bunch of.
- 35:27Speaker 2: And then for someone who would think, oh, a billionaire
- 35:32Speaker 2: would do it. I'm not going to pay. Like, they
- 35:34Speaker 2: would know about the 850. Yeah. And like, oh, I
- 35:37Speaker 2: can try to find a way around. I think there's,
- 35:39Speaker 2: I think they're already cheating. I think they're going to
- 35:43Speaker 2: try to find a way to get around it.
- 35:45Speaker 6: Do you think, do you think that if I sue
- 35:48Speaker 6: you for eight 50 for cheating, then at some point,
- 35:53Speaker 6: some marriage ain't going to dissolve and you'll be on the,
- 35:56Speaker 6: on the hook for the half of the, alimony and
- 35:59Speaker 6: all of that other stuff. Because remember, you're cheating with
- 36:02Speaker 6: my wife. Where's your wife at this point? Are you
- 36:05Speaker 6: even married? And if you aren't married, why would you
- 36:09Speaker 6: give up $ 850 for visitation rights? I'm saying it just
- 36:14Speaker 6: don't make sense. I imagine I'm with Big Kenny.
- 36:18Speaker 2: If there's 50 people doing it, $ 850 cuts out $ 30.
- 36:26Speaker 2: to 40 people instantly.
- 36:28Speaker 6: If it's 50 people doing it and the wife says
- 36:31Speaker 6: you're going to end up sleeping on the couch, six
- 36:33Speaker 6: of them stop just for the convenience of sleeping.
- 36:37Speaker 2: In a bed. Because in the divorce, the man or
- 36:40Speaker 2: the woman that's getting divorced is the only one paying
- 36:44Speaker 2: a penalty. But in this case, you would also be
- 36:48Speaker 2: paying a penalty. It's like I have been petitioning were
- 36:56Speaker 2: running onto the court or any sporting event. A couple
- 36:59Speaker 2: of months ago, the young lady ran out there, said
- 37:02Speaker 2: she was protecting her brother in like the ninth, 10th
- 37:08Speaker 2: grade football game. But if I put two years minimum
- 37:13Speaker 2: fed What happened to it? We're running on minimum fed
- 37:19Speaker 2: on that. How many people run out there now? Your
- 37:22Speaker 2: brother get dusted and you watch.
- 37:25Speaker 10: What happened to the biblical aspect of it, of adultery?
- 37:30Speaker 2: So you're saying until you see your grandson bleeding, he
- 37:33Speaker 2: just going to have to.
- 37:34Speaker 6: No, I'm saying if they got medical... People out there,
- 37:37Speaker 6: they can address the bleeding issue.
- 37:39Speaker 2: I'm hoping. I'm hoping. Because you're talking about two years
- 37:42Speaker 2: fed time. So I'm feeling I have to do at
- 37:45Speaker 2: least a year and five, seven months of that time.
- 37:53Speaker 2: Just for running on a field? No. I don't like
- 37:56Speaker 2: sports that much. That solves your streaker problem? I don't
- 38:01Speaker 2: like the kid. Oh, with the fed time?
- 38:03Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 38:03Speaker 2: It should. Two years? It should. The streaker no longer
- 38:06Speaker 2: exists in sports, right?
- 38:07Speaker 5: Two white, a whole two? And for just for two,
- 38:09Speaker 5: it could be 30 days. That should deter everyone.
- 38:13Speaker 2: I'm saying, I know dudes that got 36 months for trafficking.
- 38:16Speaker 2: You going to give me two whole years for running
- 38:18Speaker 2: on a football field? Yeah, entering any sports arena.
- 38:22Speaker 15: Oh, no.
- 38:23Speaker 2: This gets rid of your protesters?
- 38:25Speaker 16: None.
- 38:26Speaker 2: None. Everybody stop. That's what I'm saying.
- 38:29Speaker 5: Money is a great deterrent. Going on the court or
- 38:32Speaker 5: the field, yeah. As far as, like, if they have
- 38:35Speaker 5: a sign in the stands, there may be limits to
- 38:39Speaker 5: that because they're going to claim free speech.
- 38:41Speaker 20: And all that.
- 38:43Speaker 2: No, that doesn't get you out of running into an
- 38:45Speaker 2: area you're not belonging.
- 38:47Speaker 7: No, no.
- 38:47Speaker 2: I mean, if you just go to the game and
- 38:48Speaker 2: have the sign, you don't go on the court.
- 38:51Speaker 9: No, no, no.
- 38:51Speaker 2: I said running into a sporting. I don't care how
- 38:54Speaker 2: you come to the game.
- 38:55Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 38:56Speaker 2: You can have all the free T-shirts. That's on the arena.
- 39:01Speaker 2: I'm talking about entering the field of play in any arena.
- 39:05Speaker 2: Two-year minimum fee. That should deter people. I would think
- 39:09Speaker 2: it would. And listen, this is what I'm saying. But
- 39:13Speaker 2: because it's just some $ 800 fine and five days of
- 39:17Speaker 2: community service, people do it. They'll do it. I'll get
- 39:23Speaker 2: on social media and collect the $ 800. We'll be back
- 39:26Speaker 2: with more of the Sports Jock Show right after this.
- 39:30Speaker 8: I call it.

- 42:35Speaker 2: Jo Cobb, who is with NASCAR, used to be with
- 42:39Speaker 2: NASCAR has been found guilty 2024. This suit was put
- 42:46Speaker 2: in motion where she now has to pay Tracy Hughes,
- 42:53Speaker 2: who has left her husband and sued Jennifer Cobb and
- 42:58Speaker 2: won $ 850, 000. Comanche Greg says there's actually six states that
- 43:10Speaker 2: this is read those six states.
- 43:12Speaker 5: Yeah so this the alienation of affection law also known
- 43:15Speaker 5: as the home record law in North Carolina is one
- 43:18Speaker 5: state in Mississippi South Dakota Utah Hawaii and New Mexico
- 43:24Speaker 5: and North Carolina is the most active jurisdiction they have
- 43:28Speaker 5: the most cases of this alienation of affection.
- 43:33Speaker 2: Gotcha You said a couple of people made it. As
- 43:40Speaker 2: far as two years doing fair time running out on
- 43:42Speaker 2: the field, Walter Echols said 100% will stop. No, he
- 43:48Speaker 2: said zero will come out onto the field and 100%
- 43:52Speaker 2: will stop cheating for the 850. I know. You'd stop
- 43:59Speaker 2: dating if you thought somebody could charge you $ 850, 000.
- 44:04Speaker 25: $ 850, 000.
- 44:07Speaker 6: I don't know if you've ever had the unpleasant experience
- 44:10Speaker 6: of taking your hard-earned money and just giving it to
- 44:12Speaker 6: somebody else and not receiving anything in return.
- 44:15Speaker 2: No service, no anything. No exchange. Uncle Charlie is funny.
- 44:21Speaker 2: He said, this thing is getting out of control.
- 44:24Speaker 6: Yeah, he said, we freak out getting expensive. That's what
- 44:28Speaker 6: he said. The freak out is getting expensive.
- 44:30Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a ruling that definitely sets a precedent. Yeah,
- 44:34Speaker 2: it does. When you look at that Comanche Greg is
- 44:38Speaker 2: saying that there's six states that are in this. So
- 44:41Speaker 2: trust me, somebody else from those states, after reading this,
- 44:45Speaker 2: will instantly go. And if the statute of limitations have
- 44:51Speaker 2: not run out. Start suing. Start trying to sue. And sports, y'all,
- 44:55Speaker 2: I would like to say this.
- 44:57Speaker 6: I would like to say this, as you made it
- 44:59Speaker 6: known with, what's her name, Jennifer?
- 45:02Speaker 2: Jennifer Cobb. Jennifer Cobb. Some people may be thinking, I
- 45:07Speaker 2: don't have $ 850, 000 so they can't sue me, but they
- 45:11Speaker 2: don't need to.
- 45:11Speaker 6: Get it all in one lump sum. They'll garnish your wages.
- 45:15Speaker 2: Yeah, most people don't pay these judgments like that. Most
- 45:22Speaker 2: people don't. So it's a lifetime collection. You don't. Every
- 45:28Speaker 2: month you write in the check. Yeah, you be done
- 45:30Speaker 2: broke up with the wife you cheated with and you
- 45:33Speaker 2: still writing the ex-husband. Yeah, we were talking about. $ 17, 000
- 45:38Speaker 2: checks a month. Floyd Mayweather's daughter. I don't know her
- 45:41Speaker 2: bank accounts. Her dad has made close to a billion dollars,
- 45:45Speaker 2: but I don't know what he gives her. Right. But
- 45:47Speaker 2: I do know that doesn't mean that that process isn't
- 45:51Speaker 2: put on her accounts.
- 45:55Speaker 20: Right.
- 45:55Speaker 2: We see this every year once that OJ thing happened.
- 46:00Speaker 20: Yeah.
- 46:01Speaker 2: The Simpson family. The Coleman's still trying to get money.
- 46:03Speaker 2: The Coleman's still trying to collect their money and trying
- 46:06Speaker 2: to find anything that O.J. they could plug into to
- 46:11Speaker 2: get a piece of. And I'm quite sure if something
- 46:14Speaker 2: sells for O.J., they're going to try to get that
- 46:16Speaker 2: family member to have to, you know. One call, that's all.
- 46:23Speaker 25: Yeah.
- 46:23Speaker 2: Kind of like Ken Nugent. Hey, man. OJ, great-great-granddaughter got
- 46:30Speaker 2: a juice company. Let's get some of that. Let's try
- 46:32Speaker 2: to figure out how to do that. One of you
- 46:36Speaker 2: sent me a clip about Nick Saban. It was something
- 46:40Speaker 2: about him trying to tiptoe around the coach's salary. Is
- 46:47Speaker 2: that you, Comanche? That was me. It was with the...
- 46:52Speaker 2: The Protect College Sports Act. Which got ratified last week.
- 46:57Speaker 2: I think part of it.
- 47:01Speaker 5: That was shot down was putting a cap on how
- 47:06Speaker 5: much coaches could make. And it wasn't necessarily with Nick Saban.
- 47:12Speaker 5: It was more with Doug Gottlieb, who is somehow still
- 47:17Speaker 5: coaching basketball today. at the university of green Bay. But
- 47:21Speaker 5: he was saying that as far as the, with the
- 47:26Speaker 5: coaches there, there shouldn't be a cap on how much
- 47:29Speaker 5: the college coaches can make because they're more important than
- 47:31Speaker 5: the players. And he got some, a little bit of
- 47:34Speaker 5: backlash about that. That the, I think it's always been
- 47:39Speaker 5: a criticism that the coaches have this freedom to move
- 47:44Speaker 5: around or to, you know, to leave a job or whatever.
- 47:47Speaker 5: But when players do it, if this school is offering
- 47:51Speaker 5: more money, like, oh, they look bad, but when the
- 47:54Speaker 5: coaches do it, it's okay.
- 47:56Speaker 2: Well, sports caps is to try to make sure that
- 48:00Speaker 2: everybody is on an even so that the billionaires or
- 48:05Speaker 2: the Texas-type teams, if you don't find a cap, then
- 48:11Speaker 2: the college teams that have the true bank rolls, unchecked,
- 48:18Speaker 2: can take all the players. That's why all the Texas
- 48:24Speaker 2: teams now under the NIL are in the top 25.
- 48:28Speaker 2: Texas Tech, SMU, TCU, Texas A & M, Texas. Because
- 48:37Speaker 2: they are a football state and right now you don't
- 48:41Speaker 2: have a lot of regulations. If you let the owners
- 48:45Speaker 2: of the NFL go without any caps, then you will
- 48:50Speaker 2: have true identity of the four owners that have money.
- 48:58Speaker 2: You have to have a cap on players. You're not
- 49:03Speaker 2: necessarily trying to restrict them as much as you have
- 49:06Speaker 2: to create that. All you have is 150 to spend.
- 49:13Speaker 2: So I don't care how you spend it, but that's
- 49:16Speaker 2: the plateau. If I gave you an unlimited amount, then
- 49:24Speaker 2: the owner that owns the team, like the Steelers, would fade.
- 49:31Speaker 2: They don't have an independent. Green Bay would fade. They
- 49:34Speaker 2: don't have an independent billionaire. So when people say that, coaches,
- 49:42Speaker 2: you're trying to lump the coach in. That's not part
- 49:44Speaker 2: of the deal. We got to this point because everybody, well,
- 49:50Speaker 2: the coach makes this. Why do you care? Why do
- 49:57Speaker 2: you care what Nick Saban was doing? It's like you're
- 50:01Speaker 2: never happy. Now you need to cap the coaches. Why?
- 50:06Speaker 18: Why?
- 50:10Speaker 25: Why?
- 50:10Speaker 5: I think people are saying that you should cap the
- 50:16Speaker 5: coaches because you're capping the players.
- 50:18Speaker 2: Yes.
- 50:20Speaker 5: These are two different things. I think with Gottlieb, you
- 50:28Speaker 5: don't have to say all the coaches are more important.
- 50:30Speaker 5: It's not really that. I think it's two different jobs.
- 50:34Speaker 5: It's two different sets of expectations. If you want to
- 50:38Speaker 5: get the best coach you can, he's going to want,
- 50:43Speaker 5: I mean, if you say you can't really put a
- 50:45Speaker 5: cap on that, it could be on whatever you can afford.
- 50:48Speaker 5: And that's across all the sports, even in pro sports,
- 50:52Speaker 5: it's whatever the team can afford to pay this coach.
- 50:56Speaker 5: That's whatever caliber coach he is, and that's how much
- 51:00Speaker 5: they can afford. That's who they can get.
- 51:02Speaker 10: And like you initially said, a lot of people, it's
- 51:04Speaker 10: all right for the coach to go and come and go,
- 51:06Speaker 10: but when the player does it, it's a problem.
- 51:08Speaker 2: So that's one of the problems there. I think people
- 51:12Speaker 2: are trying to put like it's the same thing, but
- 51:17Speaker 2: I don't think it is really. We'll be back. More
- 51:21Speaker 2: of the Sports Chalk Show right after this.
- 51:39Speaker 8: Don't go away.
- 51:40Speaker 12: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gamby is
- 51:43Speaker 12: coming up next.
- 51:45Speaker 18: Some people won't give you the real talk on drugs,
- 51:47Speaker 18: but it's time we know the facts. Fentanyl is killing people.
- 51:51Speaker 18: It's a powerful opioid often made illegally and commonly mixed
- 51:54Speaker 18: with illicit drugs. It can even be pressed into counterfeit
- 51:58Speaker 18: pills that resemble prescription medications. Just two milligrams, about the
- 52:02Speaker 18: size of a few grains of sand, could potentially be lethal.
- 52:05Speaker 18: This isn't an ad to scare you, but it is
- 52:07Speaker 18: an ad to make you think twice. Get the facts.
- 52:10Speaker 18: Go to realdealonfentanyl.com. This message is brought to you by
- 52:14Speaker 18: the Ad Council. You wanted to be cool, which led
- 52:17Speaker 18: you to smoking, which led to a pack a day.
- 52:20Speaker 18: Then you met that special someone, which led to starting
- 52:23Speaker 18: a life with them, which led to wanting to live longer,
- 52:27Speaker 18: which led to quitting. Then you heard you may be
- 52:30Speaker 18: at risk for lung cancer, which led you to getting
- 52:33Speaker 18: a low-dose CT scan. If you smoked, get scanned. Talk
- 52:38Speaker 18: to your doctor and learn more at SavedByTheScan.org. Brought to
- 52:42Speaker 18: you by the American Lung Association and the Ad Council.
- 52:46Speaker 8: And now, back to the sports jar, Wayne Gandy.
- 52:51Speaker 2: Center Court.
- 52:53Speaker 8: On sports, news, gossip, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 52:58Speaker 9: Blah, blah.
- 53:03Speaker 20: Oh.
- 53:04Speaker 2: I said it must be because the nigga got dope.
- 53:08Speaker 2: Short and every swag in the mouth full of gold.
- 53:10Speaker 2: I was at my shows. They was stripping off their clothes.
- 53:14Speaker 2: Welcome back to the Sports Chalk Show. I'm the Sports
- 53:17Speaker 2: Chalk's Wayne Gandy. Good morning to you out there in
- 53:20Speaker 2: listening land. One thing before we move on. Y'all explain
- 53:24Speaker 2: to me real quick. What's with the coaches come and
- 53:27Speaker 2: go kind of situation? Because coaches sign contracts. And if
- 53:32Speaker 2: I fire a coach... I have to still pay him.
- 53:34Speaker 2: And a lot of times, for what I know, he
- 53:37Speaker 2: voids that if he goes, takes another job. So Jimbo
- 53:41Speaker 2: Fisher got fired by Texas A & M. We haven't
- 53:44Speaker 2: seen him since because he's still collecting the $ 70 million.
- 53:47Speaker 2: So where is this the coaches get to go and come?
- 53:52Speaker 2: Maybe I'm missing something. I think a lot of people
- 53:54Speaker 2: point at Lane Kiffin with him leaving Ole Miss. It
- 54:03Speaker 2: when they're in the playoff and taking the LSU job,
- 54:08Speaker 2: but there's no... It's like he shouldn't have been allowed
- 54:13Speaker 2: to do that. Wasn't his contract up?
- 54:17Speaker 23: No.
- 54:19Speaker 6: He just voided his contract? If they allowed him to
- 54:24Speaker 6: do that, did Ole Miss let him out of the contract?
- 54:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 54:28Speaker 5: I mean, it's like he resigned... It would technically be
- 54:32Speaker 5: like resigning and then to take this job.
- 54:34Speaker 10: And I think a lot of it is to what
- 54:37Speaker 10: some are more or less a school to go on probation.
- 54:42Speaker 10: We don't have that as much as we used to,
- 54:44Speaker 10: schools going on probation, NCAA violations. But in the past,
- 54:48Speaker 10: a coach could leave Calipari, leave a school on probation,
- 54:54Speaker 10: or leave them in a situation where they have to
- 54:56Speaker 10: start trying to work their way back up. So that's
- 55:00Speaker 10: where a lot of the coaches could come and go
- 55:03Speaker 10: more so when a coach for school would get put
- 55:07Speaker 10: on probation and then the school would leave. But the
- 55:09Speaker 10: players would have to stay and they suffer the consequences.
- 55:11Speaker 2: And now they've changed that. They've changed that. So everybody
- 55:14Speaker 2: can leave when they explode. You don't have to stay here.
- 55:19Speaker 6: And this is what I get confused about a lot.
- 55:25Speaker 6: And I'm sure it's not just sports fans. It's replete
- 55:30Speaker 6: throughout society, but sports fans I come into contact with
- 55:33Speaker 6: far more often. Why are sports fans so determined, so
- 55:40Speaker 6: inspired to limit the earnings of athletes and coaches when
- 55:46Speaker 6: no matter what you do in life, you'd like to
- 55:48Speaker 6: make the most for what you do? The guy managing
- 55:52Speaker 6: a restaurant wants to make the top salary as a
- 55:55Speaker 6: restaurant manager. And if they say tomorrow you can go
- 55:59Speaker 6: to 12 different restaurants in two weeks to make a
- 56:02Speaker 6: million dollars, it would be restaurant managers flying through the sky.
- 56:08Speaker 6: And so why wouldn't you just go? It's capitalism.
- 56:12Speaker 2: It's industry.
- 56:14Speaker 6: Why are you always trying to limit the earnings of
- 56:18Speaker 6: people who are at work? I mean, because at the
- 56:20Speaker 6: end of the day, I'm being entertained. I'm watching the game.
- 56:23Speaker 6: But these people are working. These are their jobs. So,
- 56:26Speaker 6: you know, if you'd call for them to be limited,
- 56:29Speaker 6: next thing you'd be wanting actors to not make as
- 56:32Speaker 6: much for movies. And I'm just saying, I wonder where
- 56:36Speaker 6: it stops and when we'll just start to count.
- 56:39Speaker 2: It seems we go back and forth in capitalism as
- 56:43Speaker 2: we to socialism.
- 56:45Speaker 17: Right.
- 56:46Speaker 2: As we choose to. One day we love the ability
- 56:50Speaker 2: that I can invent something and make a billion dollars
- 56:53Speaker 2: off of it. But then the next day you tell
- 56:55Speaker 2: the billionaire he shouldn't be able to make a billion
- 56:58Speaker 2: dollars off of it. until you make a video on
- 57:03Speaker 2: social media and make a million dollars. And then they say,
- 57:07Speaker 2: you got a copyright claim. The music people want half
- 57:10Speaker 2: of that money. And now you on some man, why
- 57:12Speaker 2: can't they just let folks get their money? And I, I,
- 57:15Speaker 2: as a player, I can only speak to tell you,
- 57:17Speaker 2: I have never had a problem with what a coach
- 57:20Speaker 2: makes that has nothing to do with me. And in
- 57:26Speaker 2: my day in college, we, I don't even know that
- 57:28Speaker 2: they even used to publicize what coaches make, but I'm
- 57:32Speaker 2: quite sure for the time that I was there and
- 57:37Speaker 2: putting inflation, the same money, the highest paid coach then
- 57:41Speaker 2: is still the highest paid coach. So I don't know.
- 57:44Speaker 2: I don't get where I'm supposed to have been mad
- 57:47Speaker 2: at Coach Dye. I never played for anybody and cared
- 57:52Speaker 2: about how much. Why is there so much caring about
- 57:54Speaker 2: what a coach makes? I don't know.
- 57:58Speaker 10: Just recently, they're starting to put out high school coaches.
- 58:01Speaker 2: I know they did it here in Georgia. But I'm saying,
- 58:03Speaker 2: why do people care how much coaches make? You know
- 58:08Speaker 2: why they care, Sports Jock?
- 58:09Speaker 6: Because this is the thing with American society, is that
- 58:14Speaker 6: we'll pour millions and billions of dollars into being entertained
- 58:20Speaker 6: by you. But when you start making money and... demanding
- 58:26Speaker 6: more will complain because in the back of our minds
- 58:30Speaker 6: we think it's sports.
- 58:32Speaker 2: Anybody can do your job.
- 58:33Speaker 6: Well that's that's anybody can do you're just telling dude
- 58:36Speaker 6: get on the field it's just a kid's game and
- 58:39Speaker 6: a lot of people feel like that but you can't
- 58:42Speaker 6: you could why if you could do what kirby smart
- 58:45Speaker 6: doing if you could do what kirby's doing why didn't
- 58:49Speaker 6: you do it yeah Why are you upset that Kirby
- 58:53Speaker 6: makes $ 20 million a year?
- 58:55Speaker 2: How can you get with him? Why don't you do it?
- 59:00Speaker 6: Because it's a lot of people who can't. It's a
- 59:02Speaker 6: lot of people who, it takes steps to get there.
- 59:05Speaker 6: That's it.
- 59:06Speaker 2: We live in a just want to pull my phone
- 59:08Speaker 2: out and become somebody. Do you know why people don't
- 59:11Speaker 2: like what coaches make?
- 59:13Speaker 10: No, I'm not– not really why they don't get upset
- 59:18Speaker 10: because of what they make, but it's the business. I mean,
- 59:22Speaker 10: he's bringing in money for the school. They're making money,
- 59:26Speaker 10: and everybody's making money, so. until you stop making me
- 59:31Speaker 10: money or we stop making money and no one we
- 59:34Speaker 10: stop winning games stop winning games until then you're you're
- 59:37Speaker 10: satisfied and for the person whose name is on the
- 59:41Speaker 10: check that you're cutting me a check and you're complaining
- 59:44Speaker 10: about how much I make.
- 59:45Speaker 6: The people who employ me haven't complained one time well
- 59:49Speaker 6: I mean you know.
- 59:50Speaker 26: It's just like my boss ain't said squat be cool
- 59:55Speaker 26: can I say in the state of Connecticut a while
- 59:57Speaker 26: um Calhoun, Coach Calhoun from the University of Connecticut, he
- 1:00:02Speaker 26: was the highest paid employee in the state of Connecticut.
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: And what does that have to do with anything?
- 1:00:08Speaker 10: There's judges, there's other people that are, he's just a
- 1:00:12Speaker 10: basketball coach.
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: Why is he getting paid more than these other government officials?
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: Because you like to watch him. I'm just... I asked
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: you to donate $ 100 to the teachers union and you won't.
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: But if I ask you and tell you that the
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: Falcon ticket is $ 100, you go. And get two. So
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: you have to ask yourself why you care so much
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: about entertainment over the basic principles of life. That's not
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: the entertainer's fault. that you made Beyonce a billion dollars,
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: but the teachers, the county, the DeKalb County, the Fulton
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: County teachers have to beg for a 5% increase. I
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: don't know why we're that way. I don't either. Don't
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: knock the hustle. But everybody gets mad, but you part
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: of it. We'll be back with more of the Sports
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: Jock Show right after this. Jock Tonight Jock.
- 1:01:14Speaker 8: Tonight Don't go away.
- 1:01:21Speaker 12: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gamby is
- 1:01:24Speaker 12: coming up next.
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: I actually drive better when I'm high.
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: If anything, I'm more careful.
- 1:01:30Speaker 19: That's probably what the driver who killed a four-year-old told himself.
- 1:01:33Speaker 19: And now he's in prison. If you feel different, you
- 1:01:36Speaker 19: drive different. Don't drive high. Brought to you by NHTSA
- 1:01:40Speaker 19: and the Ad Council.
- 1:01:41Speaker 9: Ever tried balancing a dozen eggs in one hand while
- 1:01:43Speaker 9: hopping on one foot? Or maybe juggling cats while riding
- 1:01:47Speaker 9: the unicycle. Sounds ridiculous, right? But guess what?
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: That's exactly what texting while driving is like.
- 1:01:53Speaker 9: Your human brain only has the capacity to focus on
- 1:01:55Speaker 9: one thing at a time. So when you're behind the wheel,
- 1:01:58Speaker 9: give driving your undivided attention.
- 1:02:01Speaker 25: Don't drive distracted. A message brought to you by the
- 1:02:04Speaker 25: National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Project Yellow Light, and the
- 1:02:08Speaker 25: Ad Council.
- 1:02:14Speaker 27: Enough is enough.
- 1:02:16Speaker 9: I have had enough.
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: Why so serious?
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: And we hold the world ransom for Wayne Gandy.
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: Excuse me while I whip this out. Show me.
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: Broadcasting live in Atlanta, Georgia. This, this is the Sports
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: Chalk Show.
- 1:02:31Speaker 4: With Wayne Gandy.
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: You may build me up. Build me up, yeah. Yeah,
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: you build me up, yeah. But you won't break me down.
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: I've come too far. I'm too far, yeah. Yeah, I've
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: come too far, yeah.
- 1:02:44Speaker 23: So just throw in the towel.
- 1:02:46Speaker 16: Hey, hey, hey, hey.
- 1:02:47Speaker 9: It's a new day. I'm a, I'm a doobie.
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna go all the way.
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: You may build me up. Welcome back to the Sports
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: Shock Show. I'm the Sports Shock Wayne Candy. Good morning
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: to you out there in listening land. Glad to be
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: here with you. Big Kenny, the funny man himself. Comanche Greg,
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: the bad producer. Chicago Mariachi Band says they're facing racist
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: backlash at the national anthem at the Bears game. Case
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: Keenum just came out of nowhere. I thought they were...
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: What happened to the other guy that looked terrible when
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: Caleb Williams went down? He got hurt himself. Oh, he
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: got hurt. Okay, that's how Case Keenum ended out.
- 1:03:31Speaker 13: On the field.
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: Chicago, a brawling city. You get beat up in the
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: back of the bar. It's your next dude out to go.
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: You know, the Eagles had no– so that's why the
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: Eagles lost. Yeah, they had no idea who they were
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: dealing with. They had no idea what Case Keenum, and
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: Case Keenum, a longtime guy who's been around and been
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: in this situation before, but trust me, There is a
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: part that catches people off guard that it takes you
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: a minute to adjust. Things happen, and I felt like
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: the Bears were going to try to run the ball anyway,
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: which they did, and really put it on the Eagles.
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: Eagles doing that human thing. We were just talking about
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: people hating on coaches. The human thing is top two
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: quarterbacks are out. Case Keenum comes in. You stay up
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: playing Call of Duty longer. You stay at your mistress's
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: house longer. Someone says, hey, man, what about Case Keenum?
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: You add an extra scoop of ice cream because in
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: your mind, how can the Bears beat us? They've got
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: what's-his-name at quarterback. When they're two-stop and then you go
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: in there next thing you know, everybody else has gotten
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: inspired to win this game to try to prove that
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: we're not just– You're not a good team based on
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: one player. You're not. Commercials and all that. I tell
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: y'all that all the time. You're not a good team.
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: That's why the Seahawks lost Sam Donald and still went
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: out and won two games. You're not. You don't win
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: a Super Bowl based on one guy. It seems like
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: they paint that picture. But a good team. Michael Jordan left.
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: The Bulls still went back to the Eastern Finals. The
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: superstar puts you over the hump.
- 1:05:25Speaker 7: Yes.
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: The base of a good team keeps you competitive.
- 1:05:28Speaker 20: Yes.
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: You just need that one superstar. The Knicks won a
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: championship finally because they had a closer. They had a
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: guard closer. When they had Ewing, they had a center.
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: But you need a guard closer. that has decided tonight.
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: I ain't putting up with that foolishness. That's what Jalen
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: Brunson is. I'm not doing that. Someone who directly has
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: the ball. So Bears, a lot of high expectations with
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: Caleb Williams. Won a game. But in that game, the
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: Mariachi band, this went along with the Cam Ward situation.
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: The quarterback for the Titans saying that his family getting
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: a lot of death threats. It's a social media problem.
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: which leaks into the media because I always want to
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: ask you three guys, I know y'all are deep into
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: social media, how many people does it take to register
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: for a sentiment to really be a sentiment? Do they
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: have an algorithm? Like how many people have to have
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: hated the mariachi band? doing the American National Anthem. And
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: this mariachi band was from Chicago. Right. So it's not
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: like they flew it in from somewhere. It was a
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: Chicago band that performs there. They did the National Anthem.
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: So how many people, please educate me, for this story
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: to have reached us, how many people have to click
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: to say they were disturbed? The algorithm... amplifies the negative comments.
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: So half as many as it would if this was,
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: we love the mariachi band, we want to see more
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: of it. So does it take a thousand? Does it
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: take 50? Does it just take three? All it takes
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: is for AI of, say, a sports outlet to catch
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: that and think this will help us get clicks. That's
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: what I'm saying. Six people say something negative on one thread,
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: and now that's the majority. If there are six people
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: commenting out of 20, and... So I'm saying if I
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: had a thousand comments on a subject, how many of
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: that thousand has to make this... How many of you
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: have a problem with the mariachi band doing this?
- 1:07:56Speaker 7: I don't.
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: I personally don't.
- 1:07:58Speaker 8: No, no problem.
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: So four of us don't. Because I would have been
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: interested in hearing how they did it. How they're going
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: to do the national anthem. The rendition of it. Yes.
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: Like how did they make it. I thought it was nice.
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: In a mariachi band. I think they said it had
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: like 14 people. So I want to know how did
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: they bring the parts up. Yeah. Into doing it. And
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: I will. That's talent. And I will say this.
- 1:08:18Speaker 6: As a person who traditionally watches the national anthem before
- 1:08:23Speaker 6: sporting events. When they said mariachi band, the first thing
- 1:08:26Speaker 6: I thought is. I'd like to see this because I
- 1:08:28Speaker 6: know that mariachi bands have a lot of pieces too.
- 1:08:31Speaker 6: And I was like, how are they going to pull
- 1:08:32Speaker 6: this off? And I thought it was done with a
- 1:08:34Speaker 6: lot of class. I thought it was done with a
- 1:08:35Speaker 6: lot of respect for both cultures. So when I heard,
- 1:08:39Speaker 6: I was the one that sent you that lead. When
- 1:08:41Speaker 6: I heard that, I thought that that's kind of odd because,
- 1:08:44Speaker 6: number one, Chicago is a place with a deep, deep
- 1:08:47Speaker 6: Hispanic heritage. So that is something that they did knowing
- 1:08:51Speaker 6: that the city will appreciate this. So who are these
- 1:08:54Speaker 6: people hating this mariachi?
- 1:08:55Speaker 7: Band?
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: Someone sitting in their basement. So I'm asking you, it's
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: a thousand people who command your bikinis, bad producers. Y'all
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: are social media. I can't have the answer. I've always
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: wondered this. How many of that thousand has to say
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: hate the mariachi band for an outlet to put this
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: story out How many racist comments did they have to get? Now,
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: it could be one racist comment, but 30,000 likes. Nobody
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: else commented. No, I'm saying we got 1,000.
- 1:09:31Speaker 8: I'm using 1,000.
- 1:09:32Speaker 20: 1,000.
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: 100. So 100 people has to say hateful things towards
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: the mariachi band. Not 10. I say it all. In
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: the article that I'm seeing, they found three. Yeah, it
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: takes less than 10.
- 1:09:48Speaker 5: But- I think 100 might be enough for it to be.
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: Go viral. Yeah, to be viral enough to write an
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: article about it, to discuss it on TV.
- 1:09:57Speaker 10: But all it takes is less than 10 just to
- 1:09:59Speaker 10: get people to start talking. And the thing about it
- 1:10:03Speaker 10: is that the 10 is probably upset. They're mad about
- 1:10:10Speaker 10: if it was.
- 1:10:12Speaker 10: Not a regular high school band. They would have something
- 1:10:15Speaker 10: to say. Oh, they shouldn't have put the high school
- 1:10:17Speaker 10: students on. They're underage. Their parents didn't.
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: It's just.
- 1:10:21Speaker 5: I wouldn't say that would be part of what the...
- 1:10:24Speaker 5: This reaction was not about, like, oh, it should have
- 1:10:27Speaker 5: been a high school band.
- 1:10:28Speaker 10: No, I'm saying that it would be people that just, period,
- 1:10:31Speaker 10: don't like the national anthem. They want to stick saying
- 1:10:34Speaker 10: that we shouldn't be singing the national anthem because.
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: of what it stood for in.
- 1:10:38Speaker 10: America though this is where this is coming from you
- 1:10:41Speaker 10: got a hispanic band that's showing pride being putting together
- 1:10:46Speaker 10: something but it kills the narrative that that's we're not
- 1:10:51Speaker 10: american and they can't do anything like this so that's
- 1:10:54Speaker 10: what i hate hate about it that I was, I'm
- 1:10:57Speaker 10: with sports. I was happy to just wonder how are
- 1:11:00Speaker 10: they going to put this together as a musician?
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: Yeah. I'm not really getting the answer to. So really
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: y'all don't have an answer about how much it can
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: be quantified. It can't be quantified.
- 1:11:11Speaker 6: I'm saying because there, there's a thing now where they
- 1:11:17Speaker 6: will push something forward based on interaction. Like I said,
- 1:11:22Speaker 6: I can make one comment and if, If 60,000 people say,
- 1:11:26Speaker 6: I hate you, then now the algorithm picks that up
- 1:11:30Speaker 6: and pushes it because it's getting a lot of interaction.
- 1:11:33Speaker 6: And then it becomes a story because the story is.
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: But you do know that there's nothing that you're going
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: to get everybody to agree on.
- 1:11:45Speaker 20: Ever.
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: We could be, you know. Even the people that agree
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: on the same thing don't agree on everything. We could
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: be running a can drive for the homeless, and somebody
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: will complain that it was the wrong day or the
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: wrong time of day or on the wrong cans or
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: on the wrong corner or not going to the right charity. Like,
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: everybody's not on board. So when I see this, it's
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: like how many of those people don't have to be,
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: but it's something that came out of that Monday night
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: game other than Case Keenan driving the Bears to victory.
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: We'll be back. More of the Sports Talk Show right

- 1:15:13Speaker 2: It's your birthday. Welcome back to the Sports Talk Show.
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: A couple of birthdays here going into this weekend. The
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: great Julie Andrews. Yes, Julie is still around. 91 years old,
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: Julie Andrews. Brie Lawson, a part of the Avengers. 37
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: years old. Fernando Mendoza, Raiders future. Starting quarterback, 23 years old.
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: Journey Smollett, the big 4-0. Mark McGuire, 63 years old. Sting,
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: our man Sting, the music artist, not the wrestler, is 75.
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: Kelly Ripa is 56. Freddie Jackson is 70. Mark Rippin
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: is 64. Gwen Stefani, 57. Bruce Arians, 74. A $ AP Rocky, 38.
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: Sante Samuel Jr. is 27. Anquan Bowden, 46. Ashley Simpson, 42.
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: Jessica Parker Kennedy from Black Sails is 42. CJ Stroud,
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: the Texans quarterback, 25. Clive Owens is 62. Lena Hedley.
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: I mean, Hedy. Cersei Lannister for you, Game of Thrones. People,
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: she is 53. Tommy Lee is 64. Tessa Thompson is 43.
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: And Nev Cambo is 53 years old. Bad producer, what
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: do you have going into the weekend? Man, I always
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: wanted to be an Avenger. Three loss. Okay, okay. Which
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: Avenger would you be? Tony Starks. The billionaire. Tony Starks
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: is dead. The Iron Man. Iron Man died. I don't care,
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: but I would have lived a good one. Avengers coming out.
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: I'm surprised he didn't say Black Panther. Yeah, I was
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: giving him a chance. Just for the culture. Nah, man. Nah.
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: I would have been the other dude that Black Panther beat.
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: It was his anyway. They took it from him. Who
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: was that? The other, huh? Killmonger? Yeah, Killmonger. Yeah, I
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: liked him. Why would you want to be Killmonger? Because
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: he was his rightfully.
- 1:17:56Speaker 10: If you read the story in the original cartoons.
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: But, you know, hey. Okay. Killmonger, that's my guy. What
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: was his originally and rightfully?
- 1:18:08Speaker 10: Well, I mean, they both fathers. You know, it's like
- 1:18:13Speaker 10: the Lion King story. Carl thought it was his and you.
- 1:18:18Speaker 6: Know Simba everything the sun.
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: Touches Bill Gates says that AI AI the thing that
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: Comanche Greg loves it's SI now but go ahead can
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: bring destruction to the planet why aren't y'all listening to
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: Bill Gates Commence. No one wants to hear what the
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: billionaire says. He wasn't always a billionaire. He's the man
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: who most of us have to actually give credit to
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: why we have these laptops in front of us. So
- 1:19:06Speaker 2: y'all don't want to hear him say that. That's all
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: it is, denial. That's all it is. If Pablo Escobar go, man,
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: y'all need to get off that cocaine, you need to
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: just leave the cocaine alone.
- 1:19:19Speaker 6: But when the people who are developing, I mean, because
- 1:19:21Speaker 6: these aren't just people who have an opinion about AI,
- 1:19:24Speaker 6: they are funding the research and development behind AI. And
- 1:19:29Speaker 6: they're coming to the table and going, man, the stuff
- 1:19:31Speaker 6: that I'm seeing is scaring the hell out of me.
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: We need to bump the brakes. And people who have
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: never seen what they're seeing are going, well, let's see
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: where it goes.
- 1:19:44Speaker 20: Why?
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: Why?
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: Because we're humans. Okay. We're humans. And I don't know
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: what Bill Gates having a billion dollars have to do with.
- 1:19:51Speaker 8: His warning.
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: He's not the only one who's saying it. They're not.
- 1:19:56Speaker 5: I think they're playing people who don't trust that. Well, he's...
- 1:20:04Speaker 5: That's what they're concerned with as far as what his
- 1:20:08Speaker 5: net worth is. I think he might be behind some
- 1:20:11Speaker 5: of this stuff that's being developed. And, you know, anyone
- 1:20:16Speaker 5: who's in tech, people might think, oh, they're doing something
- 1:20:22Speaker 5: with AI.
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: So whatever. No, that's what I'm saying. Yeah.
- 1:20:27Speaker 6: That's why I use the Pablo Escobar analogy, because I
- 1:20:31Speaker 6: directly benefit from you buying and using this technology.
- 1:20:36Speaker 18: I do.
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: If anybody knows what's going to happen, I know first.
- 1:20:41Speaker 6: I'm a billionaire already, and I can make trillions of
- 1:20:44Speaker 6: dollars with this, and I'm still the one going, wait
- 1:20:48Speaker 6: a minute, man.
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: Put that thing down. But the people getting separated, that
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: he's benefiting off of it, but he's giving us the warning. Yeah,
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: it's like a backhand compliment. People may not trust that.
- 1:21:02Speaker 20: Yeah.
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: Right. And I wonder why those people see life like that.
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: If you gave me a billion dollars today, how would
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: that have changed me at all? Why do you now
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: see me as someone who can't speak the truth or
- 1:21:18Speaker 2: need to take advantage of you or something like that?
- 1:21:23Speaker 5: I think people are cynical enough to think that anyone
- 1:21:26Speaker 5: who's a billionaire, there are those who are cynical enough
- 1:21:28Speaker 5: to think that anyone is a billionaire, stepped over people
- 1:21:32Speaker 5: and And did nefarious things to get to that point.
- 1:21:35Speaker 2: No, I invented, hold on. I invented this, this pen.
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: You stole that from somebody?
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: I didn't steal anything.
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: I literally invented the pen. And all eight billion of
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: you decided y'all wanted to purchase one. I didn't step
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: over anything. I created something that you wanted. The zipper
- 1:22:05Speaker 2: in your pants, the buttons on your shirt. And you
- 1:22:12Speaker 2: wanted to buy it. We create the billionaires through our consumption.
- 1:22:20Speaker 2: But then we vilify them and we automatically make them
- 1:22:24Speaker 2: into some kind of corporate raider.
- 1:22:26Speaker 10: Well, I mean, a lot of times, what you made
- 1:22:30Speaker 10: your money in in your industry, I mean, stay right there.
- 1:22:36Speaker 2: Excuse me?
- 1:22:37Speaker 10: No, I'm saying a lot of times what people do
- 1:22:40Speaker 10: have a problem with, some people who get money or whatever,
- 1:22:43Speaker 10: they step out of their lane.
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: Isn't AI his lane? I'm not talking in regards to
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: Bill Gates. Which billionaire stepped out of their lane and
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: talk on something? They don't have personal issues with things?
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: And see, that's the thing.
- 1:22:59Speaker 6: I think a lot of people mistrust money because, number one,
- 1:23:03Speaker 6: they don't have access to it. And number two, they
- 1:23:07Speaker 6: feel like access to it gives people a shortcut. You
- 1:23:11Speaker 6: can get in front of me. You can skip the line.
- 1:23:14Speaker 6: And because you can skip the line, you've become immoral
- 1:23:17Speaker 6: and disconnected. And that's not the truth. There are a
- 1:23:21Speaker 6: lot of rich people who have a lot of serious
- 1:23:24Speaker 6: issues and concerns on their mind, and they're trying to
- 1:23:27Speaker 6: do stuff with the money to make things better. But
- 1:23:29Speaker 6: we don't trust them because we think everybody rich is evil.
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: We'll be back. More of the Sports Jock Show right
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: after this.
- 1:23:42Speaker 21: Don't go away.
- 1:23:51Speaker 12: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gamby is
- 1:23:54Speaker 12: coming up next.
- 1:23:57Speaker 16: Choosing to buy a gun was not a decision I
- 1:23:59Speaker 16: took lightly. But with everything going on, I really wanted
- 1:24:03Speaker 16: to feel like I could protect myself. I hadn't thought
- 1:24:05Speaker 16: about the danger of an unlocked gun in my own
- 1:24:07Speaker 16: home until.
- 1:24:09Speaker 18: Mia.
- 1:24:09Speaker 9: Where are your napkins?
- 1:24:11Speaker 2: Ooh, not that drawer.
- 1:24:13Speaker 28: Unless anyone needs a gun.
- 1:24:17Speaker 16: Now, I always lock my gun to keep everyone safe.
- 1:24:21Speaker 16: Visit nfamilyfire.org to learn how to store your guns more securely.
- 1:24:25Speaker 16: Brought to you by Brady and the Ad Council.
- 1:24:26Speaker 27: I'm a pretty great multitasker. I can wash dishes and
- 1:24:30Speaker 27: do laundry. I can roller skate while walking my dog.
- 1:24:33Speaker 12: Woof, woof!
- 1:24:34Speaker 27: I can even order lunch while doing my homework. But
- 1:24:37Speaker 27: I can't use my phone while driving. A distracted driver
- 1:24:41Speaker 27: is one of the leading causes of death in the
- 1:24:43Speaker 27: United States. So when it comes to driving, please, don't
- 1:24:46Speaker 27: be a multitasker.
- 1:24:47Speaker 4: Don't drive distracted.
- 1:24:48Speaker 25: A message brought to you by the National Highway Traffic
- 1:24:51Speaker 25: Safety Administration, Project Yellow Light, and the Ad Council.
- 1:24:56Speaker 4: All right, son.
- 1:24:57Speaker 8: Time to put out this campfire.
- 1:24:59Speaker 2: Dad, we learned about this in school. Oh, did you now?
- 1:25:02Speaker 20: Okay.
- 1:25:03Speaker 2: What's first?
- 1:25:03Speaker 9: Smokey Bear said to.
- 1:25:05Speaker 20: First, drown it with a bucket of water, then stir
- 1:25:07Speaker 20: it with a shovel.
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: Wow, you sound just like him.
- 1:25:11Speaker 21: Then he said.
- 1:25:12Speaker 20: If it's still warm, then do it again.
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: Where can I learn all this?
- 1:25:16Speaker 20: It's all on SmokeyBear.com with other wildfire prevention tips. Because
- 1:25:21Speaker 20: only you can prevent wildfires.
- 1:25:23Speaker 8: Brought to you by the USDA Forest Service, your state forester,
- 1:25:25Speaker 8: and the Ad Council. And now, back to the sports jar,
- 1:25:30Speaker 8: Wayne Ganty.
- 1:25:33Speaker 4: Players Lounge.
- 1:25:36Speaker 23: You have been given full access to the Players Lounge
- 1:25:40Speaker 23: on the Sports Jack Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:26:04Speaker 2: Welcome back to the Sports Shock Show. I'm the Sports
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: Shock Wayne Candy, the bad producer, Big Ken, the funny
- 1:26:09Speaker 2: man himself, Command Sheet Greg. Great show so far, guys.
- 1:26:13Speaker 2: I know bad producer was just alarming me that it's
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: election time. I really didn't know it was election time.
- 1:26:21Speaker 2: And I guess you can only say things. And this
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: is why, you know, we're not actually trying to get
- 1:26:26Speaker 2: better as human beings. We got these. I would hear
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: Bill Gates saying, say maybe AI, and I will remember
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: the day that a person in the industry said it.
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: And if it happens in the next 10, 15 years,
- 1:26:43Speaker 2: we saw it even with Arch Manning. People send me
- 1:26:47Speaker 2: stuff every day that as soon as I click, after
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: 10 seconds, I try to figure out if it's real.
- 1:26:56Speaker 2: Command your Greg, upload it, stream it, show with me
- 1:27:00Speaker 2: and RG3 last week when we didn't have a show.
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: I got six texts asking me, was this going to
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: be a real show coming? So you put that on
- 1:27:12Speaker 2: a lightweight scale with what Bill Gates is saying, and
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: then you're trying to say it's not true. He's saying
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: somebody can computer generate a happening that that there's a
- 1:27:27Speaker 2: percentage of people are going to react to before the
- 1:27:32Speaker 2: truth comes out. How many times I've been on this
- 1:27:35Speaker 2: show and say we put too much stuff out before
- 1:27:39Speaker 2: it gets to any point to where we even need
- 1:27:44Speaker 2: to know. The investigation does not need to be shown
- 1:27:48Speaker 2: from step one to step 100. Maybe we need to
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: get in at step 80. Because we stopped at step three,
- 1:27:56Speaker 2: and we're just stuck there. We haven't heard the rest
- 1:27:58Speaker 2: of the story. So you doing that, just on a
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: lightweight scale, Big Kenny, I got six texts. I can imagine. Hey, man,
- 1:28:09Speaker 2: you and RG3 about to do a show? And this
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: is the thing, Sports Jock. Hey, bro, you ain't tell
- 1:28:13Speaker 2: me you and RG3 had a show going on. And
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: I'm like, it took me a second to realize, and
- 1:28:21Speaker 2: then someone sent it to me. And I was like, oh,
- 1:28:25Speaker 2: this is what. So you got six people to react
- 1:28:29Speaker 2: to something, which means that at least three of them
- 1:28:33Speaker 2: probably went to Google to see when the show came on.
- 1:28:39Speaker 2: And sports. or something like that. So the real masterminds
- 1:28:43Speaker 2: out there that can make something on a world stage
- 1:28:46Speaker 2: that a nuclear bomb hit Atlanta. If that is in
- 1:28:52Speaker 2: people's mind outside of Atlanta for 30 minutes and What
- 1:28:58Speaker 2: kind of chaos would that cause? And this is the thing,
- 1:29:01Speaker 2: Sports Jock. The Bill Gates's of the world are warning
- 1:29:05Speaker 2: against the fact that you don't even need a human
- 1:29:09Speaker 2: mastermind anymore. The AI is coming up with tricks of
- 1:29:13Speaker 2: its own. The computer, the program is infiltrating and learning
- 1:29:18Speaker 2: and deciding. Who programmed the computer? A human.
- 1:29:22Speaker 6: No, I'm saying they have it. And then it goes
- 1:29:25Speaker 6: off and it learns on its own. And that's what
- 1:29:27Speaker 6: the open AI and the Bill Gates guys are warning
- 1:29:30Speaker 6: us against. The Australian prime minister came out and said
- 1:29:34Speaker 6: an AI program tapped into their social security database.
- 1:29:40Speaker 10: Now, we are where artificial intelligence has been around for
- 1:29:44Speaker 10: a long time.
- 1:29:44Speaker 6: No, no, I'm saying, but now, without any human prompts,
- 1:29:48Speaker 6: this AI computer program decided it wanted to know about
- 1:29:55Speaker 6: the Social Security program and found a way to hack
- 1:29:59Speaker 6: into it through a backdoor. Without any human saying, hey,
- 1:30:04Speaker 6: let's do this. That's what they're talking about. There was
- 1:30:07Speaker 6: an AI program that they set up in an office environment.
- 1:30:11Speaker 2: Well, we got to move on because you want to
- 1:30:15Speaker 2: go down. It's just. I want to go where? You
- 1:30:19Speaker 2: brushing people out there brushing. And I'm just giving you
- 1:30:23Speaker 2: an example. If Comanche Greg can post something that we're
- 1:30:27Speaker 2: just not having a show.
- 1:30:29Speaker 14: Right.
- 1:30:29Speaker 2: And six people. In a 24-hour period. Text me.
- 1:30:37Speaker 5: Thinking I have another show. And it didn't matter what
- 1:30:40Speaker 5: was in the picture. Like, the show was called Shucking
- 1:30:43Speaker 5: and Jiving with RG3. There's not going to be a
- 1:30:46Speaker 5: show anywhere called that.
- 1:30:47Speaker 2: They don't see that. Oh, yeah, you didn't see that.
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: You did some with me. Antonio Brown plea hearing delayed
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: by the judge. Right now, AB is still... On the
- 1:30:57Speaker 2: hook for that attempted murder charge. I asked you guys
- 1:31:01Speaker 2: this before. Even without the, I guess, quote unquote, star witness,
- 1:31:10Speaker 2: would this case go away? And this judge is saying,
- 1:31:13Speaker 2: hold up. There's got to be something. Hold on. There's
- 1:31:17Speaker 2: got to be some evidence somewhere. Whoa, whoa, whoa. No,
- 1:31:19Speaker 2: I forgive him. I forgive him. No, that's cool, but
- 1:31:22Speaker 2: I'm saying you. No, I'm saying, George, don't worry about that. No,
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: we ain't even looking for you no more. No, I'm
- 1:31:27Speaker 2: not testifying. I'm cool with it. Sir, but he shot
- 1:31:30Speaker 2: at you. Sir, no. But I'm okay. I'm saying we
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: fine with you. Go away. Be blessed. No, I'm saying
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: I don't want to press charges against Antonio Brown for
- 1:31:39Speaker 2: shooting at me. Your charges.
- 1:31:40Speaker 6: It's not up to you, sir. It's not up to
- 1:31:42Speaker 6: you anymore. It's above you now. It's above you now.
- 1:31:45Speaker 6: It's the state. The state is contrived. And that's why
- 1:31:49Speaker 6: I said it's the state versus Antonio Brown. The state
- 1:31:51Speaker 6: versus Antonio Brown.
- 1:31:52Speaker 2: And I ask people around like, oh, no, if you
- 1:31:55Speaker 2: don't want to press charges, I know the bad producer
- 1:31:57Speaker 2: is one of those people who feel like it shouldn't
- 1:32:01Speaker 2: be the state. It should be that if I decide
- 1:32:03Speaker 2: that it's okay for you to shoot at me, I'm
- 1:32:05Speaker 2: on the other side. I believe that it goes beyond
- 1:32:10Speaker 2: whether you win or lose.
- 1:32:12Speaker 8: It's cool.
- 1:32:14Speaker 2: But the state still should have. A couple of years ago,
- 1:32:20Speaker 2: the kid, Hardy kid for the Panthers. Yeah, Greg Hardy.
- 1:32:23Speaker 2: Greg Hardy beat the young lady up. Then a week
- 1:32:28Speaker 2: outside of the court case, she disappeared. To me, the
- 1:32:34Speaker 2: case should have continued. You had officer's testimony. You had pictures.
- 1:32:41Speaker 2: Somebody beat this woman up. So it's the same thing
- 1:32:47Speaker 2: with this. I'm glad to hear at least, it's not
- 1:32:51Speaker 2: like I want AB to go to jail. I'm talking
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: about the principle of the case. He nervous or not?
- 1:32:57Speaker 2: I guarantee you that. That you don't just get to
- 1:33:00Speaker 2: go out. It's beyond whether you can go and pay
- 1:33:03Speaker 2: the witness or the person money. Kobe should not have
- 1:33:10Speaker 2: been able to pay out of that case if it
- 1:33:14Speaker 2: had already reached the books. of the DA. You want
- 1:33:19Speaker 2: some civil suit, then you better hope it don't get
- 1:33:22Speaker 2: to me as the DA because I'm prosecuted. But that's
- 1:33:29Speaker 2: just me. But Antonio Brown seems to still be in.
- 1:33:33Speaker 2: And he showed up with a bag over his head.
- 1:33:35Speaker 2: I don't know what that was about. This is the thing.
- 1:33:37Speaker 2: A lot of cases are predicated upon the ability to prove.
- 1:33:47Speaker 6: Guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. That is generally done with
- 1:33:52Speaker 6: expert and witness testimony. So it's very tough to get
- 1:33:56Speaker 6: a guilty plea. But when you got somebody on film
- 1:34:00Speaker 6: with a gun in their hand shooting and chasing somebody.
- 1:34:03Speaker 2: Diddy was on film kicking Cassie at the elevator. I'm
- 1:34:07Speaker 2: saying that. She doesn't get to go and get a
- 1:34:11Speaker 2: hundred mil. And say, I'll leave. It's cool. It's on tape.
- 1:34:15Speaker 5: It's on tape. But she was the victim. Wasn't she
- 1:34:19Speaker 5: going to press charters and then the 100 mil hit
- 1:34:23Speaker 5: the account?
- 1:34:24Speaker 12: No.
- 1:34:26Speaker 2: This is a criminal case. Now, if you want to
- 1:34:28Speaker 2: drop your civil lawsuit, then cool. But obviously you didn't.
- 1:34:33Speaker 2: You still wanted some money. It's on tape. They ain't
- 1:34:38Speaker 2: got me on tape stealing. And if they don't have
- 1:34:40Speaker 2: you on tape, we ain't going to prosecute you. You're right.
- 1:34:43Speaker 2: But if it's on tape. But if it's on tape.
- 1:34:44Speaker 2: If you running in a fur coat with your shirt
- 1:34:47Speaker 2: off and you got a gun in your hand and
- 1:34:49Speaker 2: you shooting at people telling folks to let you go.
- 1:34:52Speaker 2: But that's Antonio Brown. TSA officers are now, are not
- 1:34:57Speaker 2: allowed to sit down. So y'all make sure they stand up.
- 1:35:01Speaker 2: They cannot sit down when they're checking your ID, your
- 1:35:05Speaker 2: boarding passes. They're removing the chairs.
- 1:35:08Speaker 14: Really?
- 1:35:09Speaker 2: Well, that's going to have a lot of people tense.
- 1:35:12Speaker 2: They're moving the chairs. I need everybody to get in
- 1:35:14Speaker 2: one line. Step back, sir. Yeah, I thought about that.
- 1:35:19Speaker 10: When they move the chair, they really going to act
- 1:35:20Speaker 10: a fool.
- 1:35:21Speaker 2: Step back, sir. I say it. Step back. But this
- 1:35:24Speaker 2: is my child. Everybody individually. I'm going to need some
- 1:35:27Speaker 2: officers up here at the desk. Yeah, they're going to
- 1:35:29Speaker 2: act up. And so they're not just making a lot.
- 1:35:32Speaker 2: They also are removing the chair. So it won't even
- 1:35:36Speaker 2: be an option. Step up, please. Ma'am. And they said
- 1:35:41Speaker 2: they want it because that officer at that post is
- 1:35:45Speaker 2: supposed to present more of an official alertness to his
- 1:35:50Speaker 2: job and not a lackadaisical approach. What's up, twin? Let
- 1:35:55Speaker 2: me get that ID. For sure. Just like they hit
- 1:35:59Speaker 2: me one time. They was just like chillin'. What's up, twin?
- 1:36:02Speaker 2: What's up, twin?
- 1:36:05Speaker 28: Oh, what?
- 1:36:05Speaker 2: You got a book?
- 1:36:06Speaker 10: Oh, don't worry about it. We ain't going to do
- 1:36:08Speaker 10: nothing to you.
- 1:36:09Speaker 2: Oh, dear. Oh, okay. They let you on through. My
- 1:36:13Speaker 2: man Cordell Stewart, HBO Max this month, Slash and Burn
- 1:36:19Speaker 2: documentary coming out. Cordell Stewart, teammate of mine, great friend
- 1:36:24Speaker 2: of mine as well. I don't have the exact date.
- 1:36:28Speaker 2: It says in October. I'm quite sure Comanche Greg can
- 1:36:32Speaker 2: scoop in and find me the exact date. But on
- 1:36:35Speaker 2: HBO Max, it's called Slash. If you didn't know, that
- 1:36:38Speaker 2: was his original nickname with the Steelers before he cemented
- 1:36:43Speaker 2: himself as the quarterback. The Steelers kind of drafted him
- 1:36:48Speaker 2: out of Colorado as– An athlete. Back then they used
- 1:36:54Speaker 2: him at receiver, quarterback, running back, things like that. That
- 1:36:59Speaker 2: came about three, four years before he finally nailed down
- 1:37:03Speaker 2: just being the quarterback. But Slash and Burn documentary, HBO Max,
- 1:37:08Speaker 2: October 27th. 27th.
- 1:37:12Speaker 6: I get the Slash. What is the Burn? Where is
- 1:37:15Speaker 6: he burning? Is that controversy?
- 1:37:20Speaker 2: I guess we will find out. Okay. Yeah. Play on
- 1:37:23Speaker 2: words of what he said, slash and burn. That's the teaser.
- 1:37:27Speaker 2: There you go. We got to tune in. Yeah. There
- 1:37:32Speaker 2: are rumors with him that kind of followed him. Okay. So, yeah.
- 1:37:39Speaker 2: We'll talk about it on October the 27th. Check my
- 1:37:42Speaker 2: man out. And we'll be back with more of the
- 1:37:44Speaker 2: Sports Talk Show right after this.
- 1:37:53Speaker 23: Don't go away.
- 1:38:00Speaker 12: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gambias.
- 1:38:06Speaker 2: Coming up next. Everyone needs to take care of their
- 1:38:10Speaker 2: mental health, even running back B. John Robinson. When I'm
- 1:38:13Speaker 2: on the field and feeling the pressure, I usually just
- 1:38:15Speaker 2: take a deep breath. When I'm just breathing and seeing
- 1:38:18Speaker 2: what's in front of me, everything just slows down. It
- 1:38:21Speaker 2: just makes me feel great before I run the play.
- 1:38:23Speaker 2: Just like Bijan, we all need a strong mental game
- 1:38:26Speaker 2: on and off the field. Make a game plan for

- 1:38:42Speaker 13: repair or service department. Many of us value our time.
- 1:38:45Speaker 13: And in today's busy world with work and family, the

- 1:38:49Speaker 13: time waiting for your car. Well, My Car Butler is
- 1:38:53Speaker 13: your service. My Car Butler will take the headache out
- 1:38:56Speaker 13: of waiting an hour to have your service department tell

- 1:39:34Speaker 2: And now, back to the sports jar, Wayne Gandy.
- 1:39:35Speaker 27: It's Wayne Gandy.
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: Welcome back to the Sports Talk Show. I'm the Sports
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: Talk Wayne Gandy. Good morning to you out there and
- 1:40:18Speaker 1: listening land rivals.
- 1:40:29Speaker 2: Which is one of the recruiting services around the country
- 1:40:34Speaker 2: when you're trying to figure out if your son, your daughter,
- 1:40:37Speaker 2: your grandson, your granddaughter, where they may rank, is now
- 1:40:41Speaker 2: charging a little fee for that evaluation. $ 499, Big Kenny.
- 1:40:59Speaker 2: You can pay. To see when my child ranks. To
- 1:41:02Speaker 2: see your grandson. See where you rank. In sports? In sports.
- 1:41:07Speaker 2: In his activity. Why don't we just put him on
- 1:41:09Speaker 2: the field and see? Why don't we put him out
- 1:41:12Speaker 2: there with a racket in his hand? No, but I
- 1:41:15Speaker 2: can give him a detailed evaluation. Yeah. Height, weight, speed.
- 1:41:22Speaker 2: They call those stats. Yeah, I can give you all
- 1:41:24Speaker 2: that on it. And so can the kid holding the clipboard.
- 1:41:28Speaker 2: He can give me all of that stuff. The score
- 1:41:32Speaker 2: will let me know how competitive my grandson is in
- 1:41:35Speaker 2: the sport. Okay, okay. And so I don't understand the
- 1:41:38Speaker 2: 500 bucks. Comanche Greg, are you ready to pay it?
- 1:41:43Speaker 2: Big Kenny's look like he's not going for over $ 500.
- 1:41:47Speaker 2: Excuse me. It's $ 499. See, that's the difference. That's the difference.
- 1:41:52Speaker 2: You right. You right, my man. I'm thinking $ 500. I'm
- 1:41:56Speaker 2: thinking $ 500. It's just $ 499. $ 499. My bad.
- 1:42:00Speaker 5: I think they're going to be parents that do this
- 1:42:05Speaker 5: and not really realize that their kid isn't that good.
- 1:42:11Speaker 5: Because we talked about before with the parents holding their
- 1:42:16Speaker 5: kids back, like doing eighth grade for an extra year,
- 1:42:19Speaker 5: you know, and so now they look dominant when they're
- 1:42:22Speaker 5: out there, whatever sport it is. I think there will
- 1:42:24Speaker 5: be parents that are going to be doing this to
- 1:42:28Speaker 5: get more eyes on their kid, and it may end
- 1:42:34Speaker 5: up being a waste of money, a waste of time.
- 1:42:36Speaker 2: Well, the fee includes a scouting report. They will give
- 1:42:40Speaker 2: your son or daughter a grade. A film evaluation. When
- 1:42:44Speaker 2: you send the film, they will evaluate it. A coach interview.
- 1:42:50Speaker 2: And consideration to be ranked on their site. Currently, there's
- 1:42:56Speaker 2: a promotion.
- 1:42:57Speaker 20: $ 3. 90 for $ 3.
- 1:42:58Speaker 15: 99.
- 1:42:58Speaker 27: $ 3.
- 1:42:58Speaker 7: 99.
- 1:42:58Speaker 2: I was going to say that. It's a promotion. It's
- 1:43:01Speaker 2: a promotion. Listen now. Which is different than $ 4.
- 1:43:05Speaker 25: 99.
- 1:43:06Speaker 2: It's $ 100.
- 1:43:07Speaker 20: $ 20.
- 1:43:07Speaker 2: I'm giving you a little savings. I'm saying I get
- 1:43:10Speaker 2: both of them signed up now. Sports Jocks. I get
- 1:43:13Speaker 2: both them boys signed up now. $ 3. 99.
- 1:43:15Speaker 10: I'm a little upset right now because I asked Sports
- 1:43:18Speaker 10: Jocks about two of his friends a couple years ago, hey,
- 1:43:21Speaker 10: we need to set something like this up.
- 1:43:24Speaker 2: Because I knew this was coming down the pipeline. I mean,
- 1:43:27Speaker 2: you knew. And once you, Kenny, you found out. Well,
- 1:43:30Speaker 2: you can still set it up. Just go in at $ 299.
- 1:43:33Speaker 2: But I got to have solid.
- 1:43:35Speaker 10: Remember, I used to say, when, Kenny, you found out
- 1:43:37Speaker 10: that the rivals, these just ordinary people never played.
- 1:43:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:43:41Speaker 10: And so when I found that out, I was sitting with,
- 1:43:44Speaker 10: I found out sitting with him at a high school game.
- 1:43:47Speaker 2: And I'm like, man. I wouldn't say they're ordinary. A
- 1:43:51Speaker 2: lot of them are ex-college players. There's someone like you
- 1:43:57Speaker 2: who goes and hires three different people where they have
- 1:44:02Speaker 2: put a company together. I have been asked a couple
- 1:44:05Speaker 2: of times to do the O-line where they get somebody
- 1:44:11Speaker 2: for every position. They're running a business. So it's not
- 1:44:15Speaker 2: just the one guy... that you're looking at that never played.
- 1:44:20Speaker 2: He's just running as the CEO. That's why I'm upset because.
- 1:44:24Speaker 2: But he's putting a group of people that when you
- 1:44:26Speaker 2: do Google who evaluated your son. They solid. They're solid
- 1:44:32Speaker 2: to be able to do that. So I don't think
- 1:44:36Speaker 2: anybody was going just like Rivals was not charging for
- 1:44:38Speaker 2: a long time until, as I have been talking about,
- 1:44:42Speaker 2: the next Frontier, is since now Comanche and Big Kenny
- 1:44:49Speaker 2: has allowed paying in college, Nike is now giving high
- 1:44:54Speaker 2: school players contracts. So the next move is, as I said, ESPN, Fox,
- 1:45:02Speaker 2: they're going to dedicate Fox 4, ESPN 3 to high
- 1:45:08Speaker 2: school sports.
- 1:45:10Speaker 15: Yes.
- 1:45:11Speaker 2: To where it's the high school. And then if that
- 1:45:13Speaker 2: blows up big enough, it will be, They'll break it
- 1:45:17Speaker 2: down into. Regions.
- 1:45:19Speaker 25: Sports.
- 1:45:20Speaker 2: I mean, like football. Right. It'll just be high school football.
- 1:45:26Speaker 2: Where they give you the collection of even incorporate my game.
- 1:45:32Speaker 2: So I don't even need to send a crew. I'll
- 1:45:35Speaker 2: just make a deal with GPB to be able to
- 1:45:39Speaker 2: show their game. Like that red zone. Like they do
- 1:45:42Speaker 2: on the red zone. You're going here. I go to
- 1:45:44Speaker 2: every state. And get whoever, I don't need but one
- 1:45:48Speaker 2: game from every state.
- 1:45:49Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:45:51Speaker 2: And have it on there. The game of a week
- 1:45:53Speaker 2: from every state. Instead of sitting on top of sitting
- 1:45:56Speaker 2: my crew. We saw here earlier this year, the first
- 1:46:00Speaker 2: game of the year, Buford versus Gainesville. A lot of
- 1:46:05Speaker 2: people were on that. Bad producer. You sound like a
- 1:46:08Speaker 2: guy sitting up under the tree reminiscing about all the
- 1:46:11Speaker 2: things that they saw. You know, because there was a
- 1:46:14Speaker 2: guy who had, he was going to invent beat by
- 1:46:18Speaker 2: Dre's too. Right, right. But he couldn't say beat by Dre.
- 1:46:22Speaker 2: His name wasn't Dre though. No, but he used beat
- 1:46:24Speaker 2: by Dre as his example.
- 1:46:26Speaker 25: Right.
- 1:46:26Speaker 2: Man, I was just telling Pretty Tony.
- 1:46:29Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 1:46:30Speaker 2: They need a headphone with a little more bass in it.
- 1:46:33Speaker 2: And no wires. And no wires. And then as soon
- 1:46:37Speaker 2: as he saw it, man, I told y'all it was coming.
- 1:46:40Speaker 2: The epiphany moment comes with a lot of things. But
- 1:46:44Speaker 2: you know that we've seen and talked about. Football going
- 1:46:47Speaker 2: to get back to running the ball. So y'all get
- 1:46:52Speaker 2: ready for that. That's coming.
- 1:46:54Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 1:46:54Speaker 2: It's coming. We're seeing it emerge little by little in
- 1:46:58Speaker 2: the NFL. The running back is coming back. We're seeing
- 1:47:00Speaker 2: the running game. Remember they tried to fade it up? Yes,
- 1:47:03Speaker 2: and now it is coming back. Oh, yeah, it's definitely
- 1:47:06Speaker 2: coming back.
- 1:47:06Speaker 6: You got the B. John Robinsons. What's that boy that
- 1:47:08Speaker 6: came out of South Dakota? He's out of Kansas City now.
- 1:47:13Speaker 21: Walker.
- 1:47:14Speaker 2: That's Kansas City. Is that out of Dakota? No, I'm
- 1:47:17Speaker 2: just saying. I'm just naming running backs. He came out
- 1:47:20Speaker 2: of Boise. Scatterboo? No, no. The guy, he was in Heisman. Oh, Genty? Oh, Genty.
- 1:47:27Speaker 6: We see all of these scattable, we see all of
- 1:47:31Speaker 6: these guys making names for themselves in running games. We
- 1:47:36Speaker 6: see teams get down at the goal line in the
- 1:47:40Speaker 6: two-minute offense.
- 1:47:41Speaker 2: And they have a run plate inserted. You haven't seen
- 1:47:44Speaker 2: that in a while. We'll be back with more of
- 1:47:46Speaker 2: the Sports Jock Show right after this.
- 1:47:48Speaker 20: Text a message, I don't know the number.
- 1:47:51Speaker 28: Don't go away.
- 1:47:59Speaker 8: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gamby is
- 1:48:02Speaker 8: coming up next.
- 1:48:05Speaker 2: And now let's talk about something exciting, life insurance.
- 1:48:07Speaker 13: Three quarters of Americans believe that coverage represents a critical
- 1:48:10Speaker 13: piece of financial security, yet only 49% actually have life insurance.
- 1:48:13Speaker 13: When I was 25, me and my wife were just
- 1:48:15Speaker 13: getting started with our family and thought we lived forever.
- 1:48:17Speaker 4: Life insurance was the last thing on my mind. What
- 1:48:26Speaker 4: about you?
- 1:48:27Speaker 2: Will you be leaving benefits or bills? When I was 40,
- 1:48:30Speaker 2: with a kid in college and bills piling up, I
- 1:48:31Speaker 2: was worried how my family would survive without me.
- 1:48:33Speaker 4: That's when I made an appointment with the insurance informant.
- 1:48:35Speaker 13: Information gives you power and life insurance gives your family security,
- 1:48:39Speaker 13: no matter what stage of life you're in. Now that
- 1:48:41Speaker 13: I'm older, I don't worry about whether I leave my
- 1:48:43Speaker 13: family with bills or benefits.
- 1:48:45Speaker 2: The answer is easy.
- 1:48:46Speaker 13: Whether you're 25 or 50, whether you earn a little
- 1:48:49Speaker 13: or a lot, all you need is the insurance informant
- 1:48:51Speaker 13: to help you build a foundation of security. Because without you,
- 1:48:55Speaker 13: your family will have two options, benefits or bills. Which
- 1:48:59Speaker 13: legacy will you leave behind? Log on today, benefitsorbills.com. That's benefitsorbills.com.
- 1:49:09Speaker 15: When I smoke weed? I get lost in the music.
- 1:49:12Speaker 15: I like to isolate each instrument. The rhythmic bass, the
- 1:49:16Speaker 15: harmonies on the piano, the sticky melody.
- 1:49:19Speaker 2: Hey.
- 1:49:23Speaker 7: Hey. Hey.
- 1:49:24Speaker 14: Hey.
- 1:49:24Speaker 27: Careful, babe.
- 1:49:24Speaker 7: There's someone crossing the street.
- 1:49:26Speaker 2: Sorry, I didn't see him there. If you feel different,
- 1:49:29Speaker 2: you drive different. Don't drive high. It's dangerous and illegal everywhere.
- 1:49:35Speaker 20: A message from NHTSA and the Ad Council.
- 1:49:38Speaker 21: Nobody had to tell your grandparents not to drive while
- 1:49:41Speaker 21: using their typewriters. Why should it be any different for
- 1:49:45Speaker 21: us kids and our cell phones? Distracted driving was the
- 1:49:48Speaker 21: cause of more than 3,000 deaths in 2022.
- 1:49:52Speaker 2: Come on, we're smarter than this.
- 1:49:54Speaker 21: Let's put down the phones and focus on the roads.
- 1:49:57Speaker 21: Drive safe, everybody.
- 1:50:00Speaker 22: Don't drive distracted. A message brought to you by the
- 1:50:02Speaker 22: National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Project Yellow Light, and the
- 1:50:06Speaker 22: Ad Council.
- 1:50:09Speaker 2: And now, back to the sports jar, Wayne Gandy.
- 1:50:13Speaker 23: Now, it's time for the scoreboard, where we put a
- 1:50:19Speaker 23: spin on life and sports and how they intermingle on
- 1:50:24Speaker 23: the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:50:28Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:50:35Speaker 8: And yo, Black, it's time, bro.
- 1:50:37Speaker 28: Bro, it's time, man.
- 1:50:39Speaker 10: Welcome back to the Sports Talk Show.
- 1:50:45Speaker 8: I'm the Sports Talk Wayne Canty. Phil Mickelson checked.
- 1:50:49Speaker 4: Into an addiction.
- 1:50:51Speaker 13: Treatment facility because.
- 1:50:54Speaker 2: Of family trauma. What was Phil? Was he alcoholic? Or
- 1:51:10Speaker 2: do I remember he was a sex addict? I thought
- 1:51:13Speaker 2: Phil had a- What was it then?
- 1:51:15Speaker 7: Yes.
- 1:51:16Speaker 2: Yes. It was- On both. Yeah. He was a gambler.
- 1:51:19Speaker 2: It was a gambling also. It was a lot of
- 1:51:21Speaker 2: things with Phil.
- 1:51:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:51:22Speaker 2: I'm just saying, I thought I remembered him saying maybe-
- 1:51:25Speaker 2: He had a lot of dark thoughts. It was some, yeah,
- 1:51:27Speaker 2: some sex addict in there along with, but addiction, for
- 1:51:31Speaker 2: most addiction, is treated the same kind of format.
- 1:51:34Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:51:35Speaker 2: Regardless of what he said. We hope the lefty figures
- 1:51:39Speaker 2: it out. I did see that J.R. Smith, the longtime
- 1:51:43Speaker 2: NBA baller, was arrested on domestic violence or family violence.
- 1:51:49Speaker 2: Family violence. Down in Texas, I want to say he
- 1:51:52Speaker 2: was at. I hadn't seen the story to say who
- 1:51:56Speaker 2: he got into it with. Dylan Brooke, DUI. It was
- 1:52:01Speaker 2: something about that, right? He had just been pulled. Arrested
- 1:52:05Speaker 2: maybe recently for DUI. Sounds like he's going to be
- 1:52:09Speaker 2: using Uber or having one of his brothers drive him around.
- 1:52:13Speaker 2: Or as we call it in the industry, tigering. Oh,
- 1:52:17Speaker 2: is that what it's called, tigering? Stop, stop, stop. Come on, man. Stop.
- 1:52:23Speaker 2: We call it tigering. Stop. That's great.
- 1:52:27Speaker 27: Stop.
- 1:52:28Speaker 2: Don't do it, my man. Don't do it like that.
- 1:52:30Speaker 6: I appreciate that. That is actually ingenious. I appreciate that, sir.
- 1:52:33Speaker 2: Tigering. It comes up every now and then. That's kind
- 1:52:36Speaker 2: of like my gift. Thank you. I like that. We'll
- 1:52:38Speaker 2: accept it, sir, on the other end of the table.
- 1:52:41Speaker 2: She tigering. Is she tigering? Yeah, I got it. I
- 1:52:44Speaker 2: got it. I'm a Tiger her in. There you go.
- 1:52:47Speaker 2: There you go. Did an Uber. Tiger her. Tiger her in. Yeah.
- 1:52:53Speaker 27: Ah!
- 1:52:53Speaker 2: Everybody up top. High five, high five, except for that
- 1:52:56Speaker 2: guy over there. I'm with you on that. Nothing from him.
- 1:52:59Speaker 2: Spike Lee last night at the Red Sox-Yankees game. The
- 1:53:02Speaker 2: Yankees have moved on to the next round. Spike Lee
- 1:53:05Speaker 2: had to be held back. From attacking a baseball fan,
- 1:53:09Speaker 2: someone approached Spike as he was at dinner at the
- 1:53:14Speaker 2: stadium before the game with a curse word and then Palestine.
- 1:53:21Speaker 2: And Spike took exceptions to that and gave the guy
- 1:53:26Speaker 2: a piece of his mind. The person was removed. And
- 1:53:32Speaker 2: as we saw with Macklemore and Ed Sheeran, A lot
- 1:53:37Speaker 2: of emotions around that topic. I don't really talk on
- 1:53:42Speaker 2: it because I don't know a lot. Those kind of topics,
- 1:53:45Speaker 2: you really need to be more well-versed.
- 1:53:48Speaker 6: Because I wonder what Spike Lee got to do with
- 1:53:51Speaker 6: any of that.
- 1:53:51Speaker 2: I don't know if he ever wrote a movie or
- 1:53:53Speaker 2: an article or something. I'm not sure which side. But
- 1:53:58Speaker 2: no one got hurt. But Spike at his age, who's
- 1:54:03Speaker 2: always come off as a, and we know him to be,
- 1:54:06Speaker 2: Never surprising for him to be at any type of
- 1:54:10Speaker 2: New York sporting event.
- 1:54:12Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:54:13Speaker 2: Any type. Even the ones we might not know New
- 1:54:17Speaker 2: York has. Spike might fall through. He'll pop up. He
- 1:54:21Speaker 2: might just fall through. That's how Spike loves the sports
- 1:54:25Speaker 2: up there in New York. So I know Greg is here. Oh, okay.
- 1:54:31Speaker 5: I was saying, like, what did the– I saw, like,
- 1:54:35Speaker 5: he asked for a request, so they wanted him to
- 1:54:37Speaker 5: say that.
- 1:54:38Speaker 10: Yeah, denounce Palestine. I don't know why they wanted him to.
- 1:54:43Speaker 10: I mean, I'm trying to figure out. I haven't heard
- 1:54:45Speaker 10: Spike say anything in regards to it. Anything with a
- 1:54:48Speaker 10: celebrity attached to it. Anything with a celebrity attached to
- 1:54:52Speaker 10: it carries.
- 1:54:53Speaker 2: Odell Beckham Jr., after three games, has been released, so
- 1:54:57Speaker 2: he's a free agent by the Giants. The Giants... bringing
- 1:55:04Speaker 2: in and traded for J.J. McCarthy from the Vikings with
- 1:55:10Speaker 2: Jackson Dart being out for the rest of the season.
- 1:55:16Speaker 2: But Odell Beckman, that doesn't mean that he necessarily couldn't
- 1:55:19Speaker 2: be picked up again by them or find a new home.
- 1:55:22Speaker 2: He's in shape. He's a veteran and injuries happen as
- 1:55:26Speaker 2: we have seen like the Packers receiver that had a
- 1:55:32Speaker 2: season-ending neck injury. Jaden Reed. Jaden Reed the other day.
- 1:55:37Speaker 2: So a lot of jobs. Why not if you're Green Bay? Yeah.
- 1:55:42Speaker 2: Bring him in and see if he has something in
- 1:55:46Speaker 2: him to try to get Jordan Love some help in
- 1:55:51Speaker 2: this situation. What else do we have here? The NBA season.
- 1:55:54Speaker 2: You'll start seeing some preseason games here. Remember, after about
- 1:55:59Speaker 2: five days, they– They play themselves on the court in shape. Yeah.
- 1:56:04Speaker 2: They've all had their media day. Yeah.
- 1:56:07Speaker 10: The Hawks up in Nashville and Vanderbilt finishing up the
- 1:56:11Speaker 10: rest of their training camp.
- 1:56:13Speaker 2: And so a lot of teams are out about. So
- 1:56:16Speaker 2: those games that you just happened to see, they are
- 1:56:19Speaker 2: real games. Well, excuse me. They are real this season's
- 1:56:24Speaker 2: preseason games. Yeah. Exhibitions.
- 1:56:26Speaker 5: So please don't take, don't, People are going to give
- 1:56:31Speaker 5: too much analysis to those games, just like with.
- 1:56:33Speaker 2: Any other preseason games. And the season is officially, I think,
- 1:56:40Speaker 2: about three weeks. I think October 23rd, 24th, somewhere in there.
- 1:56:46Speaker 2: Before we reach that sweet spot where it's just every
- 1:56:49Speaker 2: sport is on TV. But by then, the WNBA will
- 1:56:53Speaker 2: be done.
- 1:56:54Speaker 21: Yeah.
- 1:56:55Speaker 2: And I love the WNBA. I'm hoping the NBA gets
- 1:56:58Speaker 2: back to that first round when it was just best
- 1:57:00Speaker 2: of five. I think shorter gives the underdog team, as
- 1:57:06Speaker 2: we saw with Minnesota and the New York Liberty. It's
- 1:57:11Speaker 2: easy to build up some confidence that I only have
- 1:57:14Speaker 2: to beat you two out of three times. You think
- 1:57:17Speaker 2: you have a chance. There's an anxiety if you're the
- 1:57:20Speaker 2: eighth team playing the first team and I got to
- 1:57:24Speaker 2: beat you four times. And I think that's where you
- 1:57:29Speaker 2: take a team and that's where the excitement comes for
- 1:57:32Speaker 2: the WNBA. Their first round, it's kind of like the
- 1:57:35Speaker 2: wild card with Major League Baseball. It's higher stakes when
- 1:57:40Speaker 2: it's a shorter series. And you have to be, and
- 1:57:43Speaker 2: I'm saying it emboldens the underdog a lot of times
- 1:57:49Speaker 2: more than people understand because... Even though we are not
- 1:57:54Speaker 2: as good as you, we can beat you two times.
- 1:57:58Speaker 2: That's really how you think. I can get you two wins.
- 1:58:01Speaker 5: The Liberty did win the championship two years ago. So
- 1:58:04Speaker 5: it's not like, yeah, they're the eight seed, but they're
- 1:58:07Speaker 5: not a bad team.
- 1:58:09Speaker 2: Correct. But I'm just saying the play-in and all that
- 1:58:13Speaker 2: for the NBA, eight trying to take down a one
- 1:58:17Speaker 2: in a seven-game series, it gives the one time to
- 1:58:21Speaker 2: wake up. Yeah. That's kind of how I'm saying it.
- 1:58:25Speaker 2: It gives the one time. Because that team is the one,
- 1:58:30Speaker 2: they always feel like they can win three in a row.
- 1:58:33Speaker 2: Kind of mindset. But if I ain't got but three games,
- 1:58:36Speaker 2: we got to get to work tonight. This past year,
- 1:58:39Speaker 2: the Pistons were the one seed. They were down 3-1.
- 1:58:41Speaker 5: The series would have been over under the old format.
- 1:58:46Speaker 2: Under the old format. And we are in the ocean.
- 1:58:51Speaker 2: The truth is, he will throw your a * *
- 1:58:53Speaker 2: in the ocean.
- 1:58:55Speaker 4: It's time to wrap things.
- 1:58:56Speaker 2: Up on the Sports Jack Show with Wayne. When you
- 1:59:26Speaker 2: hear the sounds of the ocean against the sports, y'all,
- 1:59:28Speaker 2: it's just a minute to vent. We'd like to thank

- 2:00:08Speaker 2: woman in the United States. Outlived her three sons. That's
- 2:00:18Speaker 2: how long. Miss Noah. She lived From 1910, still alive today.
- 2:00:32Speaker 2: Naomi Washington Whitehead. Still kicking at 116 years of age.
- 2:00:42Speaker 2: She had a birthday a couple of days ago. And
- 2:00:47Speaker 2: I'm talking about her sons put in some work. All
- 2:00:51Speaker 2: three of them reached their 70s. And she's still here.
- 2:00:58Speaker 2: So we're not talking about some young deaths. We're talking
- 2:01:01Speaker 2: about the sons put in work. And none of the
- 2:01:04Speaker 2: four of us have even reached their age yet. Mama
- 2:01:07Speaker 2: is still here having birthdays. So Naomi, Miss Naomi, Washington Whitehead,
- 2:01:13Speaker 2: the oldest living person in recorded history here in the
- 2:01:19Speaker 2: United States. They say from what they know, the second
- 2:01:22Speaker 2: oldest living person on the planet. She's the 53rd person
- 2:01:28Speaker 2: to ever live this long since they've been recording birthdays.
- 2:01:35Speaker 2: So come on board, Mrs. Whitehead.
- 2:01:42Speaker 10: She buried grandkids, great-grandkids, nieces, nephews.
- 2:01:49Speaker 2: Last son passed away back in 2011. Ain't nobody going
- 2:01:53Speaker 2: to get that insurance money.
- 2:01:54Speaker 29: Ain't nobody getting that. You say no insurance money? Ain't
- 2:01:59Speaker 29: nobody getting that. Who left to get it? It won't
- 2:02:03Speaker 29: be nobody at her funeral at this point.
- 2:02:05Speaker 2: It won't be nobody at the insurance company. The insurance
- 2:02:09Speaker 2: company went out of business. It went out of business
- 2:02:13Speaker 2: 20 years ago.
- 2:02:14Speaker 20: 116.
- 2:02:15Speaker 2: As we say on Thursday, we hope you have a
- 2:02:17Speaker 2: great football, basketball, baseball weekend. We'll see you in the future. Peace.
