- 1:48Speaker 5: How We Doing? How We Living? Living? Great?
- 1:51Speaker 4: Better than Max Crosby evidently failed as physical so hurt
- 1:57Speaker 4: the most hurt the cowboys. By the way, A little
- 2:00Speaker 4: update before you get into that portion of it. The
- 2:03Speaker 4: Cowboys are not expected to re engage in Max Crosby
- 2:06Speaker 4: trade discussions.
- 2:07Speaker 5: They say, we have moved on with Rashaun.
- 2:09Speaker 4: Gary and we are not getting back into the same
- 2:13Speaker 4: talks that we were in classic negotiations.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Make him think you're not interested.
- 2:18Speaker 6: Said the same talks. I didn't say any talks.
- 2:20Speaker 2: That's true, the same talks.
- 2:22Speaker 6: Might be talking a little lower value. Yeah, it's fair
- 2:25Speaker 6: in a fourth round pick.
- 2:27Speaker 5: So Doc, you might look at my knee different than
- 2:31Speaker 5: Flynn would.
- 2:31Speaker 4: Look at my knee if he was a doctor, I know,
- 2:33Speaker 4: funny enough, there's no shot.
- 2:35Speaker 2: But if he was friends of the family, brothers doctor,
- 2:37Speaker 2: that's true.
- 2:39Speaker 5: So we know this.
- 2:39Speaker 2: You know, doctor's gonna have different opinions.
- 2:42Speaker 4: And look, when you're the guy who is checking out
- 2:45Speaker 4: somebody that is two first round picks leaving your building
- 2:49Speaker 4: to come in, you're going to be pretty thorough in
- 2:51Speaker 4: your examination. How bad does it have to be though,
- 2:58Speaker 4: for you to go back to a team think and
- 3:00Speaker 4: be like, hey, we can't do this if that is
- 3:03Speaker 4: in fact, if it is a failed physical which they
- 3:05Speaker 4: knew he was hurt coming in, Like, how bad do
- 3:07Speaker 4: you think it has to be for you to go
- 3:09Speaker 4: back to the team and say, hey, guys, this is
- 3:11Speaker 4: something we can't do.
- 3:12Speaker 6: Yeah, And that's tough because on the one hand, you
- 3:15Speaker 6: don't want to be the guy that's responsible for drafting
- 3:17Speaker 6: a player like if I, if I, if I sign off, Yeah,
- 3:19Speaker 6: he's gonna be okay, and then he comes in and
- 3:21Speaker 6: just can't stay on the field, and then you know,
- 3:23Speaker 6: they're all looking at me, and that's gonna be my
- 3:25Speaker 6: head probably on the block. But then on the other hand, Yeah,
- 3:28Speaker 6: the classic one I always think about is, uh is
- 3:30Speaker 6: the Drew Brees one. You know, the guy his first option,
- 3:33Speaker 6: first place, he almost went with Miami.
- 3:34Speaker 2: They didn't pass his physical.
- 3:36Speaker 6: Uh, he played for the Saints because of that, he
- 3:38Speaker 6: could he would have been a dolphin. And it's funny.
- 3:40Speaker 6: I mean, I've talked about a bunch of time, the
- 3:42Speaker 6: the butterfly effect that could have caused for a lot
- 3:44Speaker 6: of different things. But but yeah, with with with with Crosby,
- 3:48Speaker 6: I mean, I don't know anything about his medical So
- 3:50Speaker 6: just this is if you're looking at a knee and
- 3:52Speaker 6: if it's just a moniscus, you know, typically we don't
- 3:54Speaker 6: think of that as a serious injury, but is there
- 3:57Speaker 6: anything else? You know, maybe the MRI showed that he
- 3:58Speaker 6: had a big cartilage defense and then he's already got
- 4:00Speaker 6: a lot of early arthritis. And this is a guy
- 4:02Speaker 6: that you're looking at, like, gosh, man, I don't want
- 4:04Speaker 6: to put any bad juju out there for this guy,
- 4:05Speaker 6: but you know, that would be the things you would
- 4:07Speaker 6: probably think of. Or maybe something that came up on
- 4:09Speaker 6: some of the rest of physical is something they didn't
- 4:10Speaker 6: know about, maybe on a you know, maybe he had
- 4:13Speaker 6: some kind of heart issue or something. And again not
- 4:15Speaker 6: putting anything crazy, but there are things you're going to
- 4:17Speaker 6: look at, but you know, typically it does seem a
- 4:20Speaker 6: little bit odd. You know, meniscu surgeries are a very commonplace.
- 4:23Speaker 6: You know, even if he didn't have a good repair,
- 4:26Speaker 6: then you just go in and do him minoseectomy later
- 4:27Speaker 6: and it kind of shave out the damage pieces and
- 4:30Speaker 6: he's probably able to still play a pretty good career
- 4:32Speaker 6: after that, you know, just maybe a little more problems
- 4:34Speaker 6: down the road.
- 4:34Speaker 5: Right.
- 4:36Speaker 7: The way I view physicals is it's not like black
- 4:40Speaker 7: and white pass or fail. It is it's an opinion
- 4:44Speaker 7: based on all sorts of different variables that you're going
- 4:47Speaker 7: through like this guy's played in the trenches in the
- 4:50Speaker 7: NFL for a long time, so his physical is certainly
- 4:54Speaker 7: is a passing physical for him, certainly going to look
- 4:56Speaker 7: different than a seventeen year old kid that's going to college. Right,
- 5:00Speaker 7: So like you're you're not grading on this, well, you
- 5:03Speaker 7: got to hit these marks, blah blah blah, Like it's
- 5:05Speaker 7: a you take all the variables, you take everything like
- 5:08Speaker 7: into account, and you given a like as a doctor,
- 5:12Speaker 7: like I would think the job is to give an
- 5:14Speaker 7: opinion because nobody's going to pass a physical two months
- 5:16Speaker 7: after surgery, right knee surgery. I know it's some meniscus,
- 5:21Speaker 7: it's more complasts, it's not like reconstructive or anything like that.
- 5:23Speaker 5: But because like it was significant meniscus tear.
- 5:27Speaker 7: But like they they said, like nobody's going to pass
- 5:29Speaker 7: a physical if you're thinking about a physical as like
- 5:33Speaker 7: just like, okay, can he do is he is he
- 5:34Speaker 7: perfectly healthy? Of course he's not perfectly healthy. He's two
- 5:38Speaker 7: months after surgery. So I what is the job of
- 5:41Speaker 7: a team doctor when you're doing physicals on a player?
- 5:44Speaker 7: Is it just to provide like I'm either passing or
- 5:46Speaker 7: failing him or I'm providing new information based on what
- 5:50Speaker 7: I'm seeing. And here's all the different variables to think about.
- 5:53Speaker 6: It's for the most part the latter. There are gonna
- 5:56Speaker 6: be sometimes it's pass fail but.
- 5:58Speaker 2: A big rubber stamp.
- 5:59Speaker 6: Yeah, but the old werewhelming majority is not going to
- 6:02Speaker 6: be that. Let's just be you know, somebody had a
- 6:03Speaker 6: you know I mentioned earlier like hard somebody had a
- 6:05Speaker 6: really bad heart condition and we discovered that in a physical.
- 6:07Speaker 2: That's the guy.
- 6:08Speaker 6: We're gonna rubber stamp it. As you say, I mean
- 6:09Speaker 6: that that's you know, you can't cause you don't want
- 6:11Speaker 6: the guy to die. You don't want something bad to happen.
- 6:13Speaker 6: Or if you look at his knee and it's completely
- 6:15Speaker 6: unstable and he's had multiple surgeries and he's got just
- 6:17Speaker 6: the trashiest knee ever, you might do that. And again
- 6:20Speaker 6: I don't think that's the case, but right, but.
- 6:25Speaker 2: This guy's needs trash you.
- 6:27Speaker 5: Know they're out there.
- 6:29Speaker 2: I mean, look, I can't sign this guy.
- 6:31Speaker 6: But but the reality is kind of like we talked
- 6:34Speaker 6: about some of the combine stuff, is you give an
- 6:36Speaker 6: assessment and and a lot of times that assessment is, hey,
- 6:39Speaker 6: this guy's got an injury. We know he's got an injury.
- 6:41Speaker 6: And and to be fair, if you're playing in the NFL,
- 6:43Speaker 6: unless you're maybe a punter, you've got injuries. You know,
- 6:45Speaker 6: That's that's the reality. Nobody's nobody's coming in clean. So
- 6:48Speaker 6: then you got to say, well, how long do I.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Think he can play?
- 6:51Speaker 5: How how much career.
- 6:52Speaker 6: Do we think he has left? And that's when that's
- 6:54Speaker 6: when kind of the subjectivity, you know, it's it's you
- 6:57Speaker 6: use your education, you use your knowledge, you use the
- 6:59Speaker 6: tools that you have. But at the end of the
- 7:00Speaker 6: kind of what Jake was saying earlier, you and me
- 7:01Speaker 6: might disagree. We might both look at this knee and
- 7:03Speaker 6: I might say, man, I'll be surprised if he can
- 7:05Speaker 6: get three more years in the league on this, And
- 7:07Speaker 6: you may look at it and say, you know what,
- 7:08Speaker 6: with good treatment and if we get good rehab, we can.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Probably get six out of them. Right, that's a big difference.
- 7:13Speaker 7: But how can you tell that, like now, like two
- 7:15Speaker 7: months after a surgery. Is it just based on looking
- 7:17Speaker 7: at how much trash is in that knee?
- 7:19Speaker 6: Yeah, you know, basically I don't know that you really
- 7:21Speaker 6: can after surgery. You know it's not gonna be normal.
- 7:23Speaker 2: That's a good point.
- 7:24Speaker 7: You're like saying, like, I think he's got X amount
- 7:27Speaker 7: of good years left in him, and they're like, Okay,
- 7:28Speaker 7: well that's worth the investment.
- 7:30Speaker 6: I think the one way you maybe could and to
- 7:33Speaker 6: be fair, is even though he just had surgery and
- 7:36Speaker 6: we know he's not going to be able to play
- 7:38Speaker 6: football today, he just had surgery. But again that's where
- 7:41Speaker 6: if you look at that MRI, maybe if you look
- 7:43Speaker 6: at some of the pictures from the surgery and you
- 7:44Speaker 6: see that that cartilage is really worn down under the meniscus, yeah,
- 7:47Speaker 6: and maybe he's got some other defects there. And if
- 7:49Speaker 6: you're looking at all those things, I could see a
- 7:52Speaker 6: medical explanation for why after you see that, maybe don't
- 7:55Speaker 6: have all that information because in the being, yeah, it's
- 7:57Speaker 6: just a meniscus. But then I see his scans, I'm like, Ooh,
- 8:00Speaker 6: this need is gonna be trouble. We're gonna we're gonna
- 8:01Speaker 6: have to really work on this thing. And maybe maybe
- 8:03Speaker 6: there you make that decision again that that would be
- 8:06Speaker 6: the one scenario that I could think of.
- 8:07Speaker 4: Does it make y'all feel like something maybe a little
- 8:10Speaker 4: fishy is happening whenever that you void this trade in
- 8:14Speaker 4: the next day, you signed Trey Hendrickson to a four year,
- 8:17Speaker 4: one hundred and twelve million dollar contract at the same position.
- 8:20Speaker 2: I think it's just coincidence.
- 8:21Speaker 6: And when you think about it, sounds coincidental.
- 8:24Speaker 2: So that's that's that's the bomb. That and you get
- 8:26Speaker 2: to keep both of your first round pick.
- 8:28Speaker 7: I just read that like twenty seconds before you said it.
- 8:32Speaker 7: I just I wanted to laugh. Sorry, Doc, Yeah, I
- 8:34Speaker 7: was one to like, now we know, but I was like,
- 8:36Speaker 7: oh my god, are you serious. So physical is pretty bad?
- 8:40Speaker 2: Yeah, get there. It is definitely physical.
- 8:42Speaker 4: So and look, Doc, I'm not asking you to speak
- 8:44Speaker 4: ill of your brethren here. But in twenty eighteen, they
- 8:48Speaker 4: had a very similar situation. There's a receiver they signed
- 8:51Speaker 4: for like three or four years, I forget what the
- 8:53Speaker 4: year number was, like thirty million dollars and he never
- 8:56Speaker 4: missed a game for Washington and then the next day
- 8:59Speaker 4: after they agreed to that deal, Michael Crabtree gets available,
- 9:03Speaker 4: he gets released, and they end up failing this physical
- 9:06Speaker 4: this player never missed a game before and using that
- 9:10Speaker 4: money to sign Michael Crabtree. So like, that's a and
- 9:13Speaker 4: again maybe it was whatever, but it's a slippery slope
- 9:17Speaker 4: to have that happen to the same organization a couple
- 9:19Speaker 4: of different times. And if that's what you're using to
- 9:21Speaker 4: try to get out of these deals, that's not good.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Well, I don't know if they care. They're just saying,
- 9:26Speaker 2: where the villain? You ever heard that before? We're the villain.
- 9:29Speaker 2: I don't care. Embrace it. Yeah, it's they're gonna embrace it, you.
- 9:33Speaker 6: Know, And and and saying that even failed the physical,
- 9:36Speaker 6: you know, the the reality of it is, where does
- 9:38Speaker 6: that even come from?
- 9:39Speaker 2: You know?
- 9:39Speaker 6: Anybody can fail the physical. Yeah, along the chain, so
- 9:42Speaker 6: I may not fail it, but then you know, anybody
- 9:44Speaker 6: else can say, oh right, and you're really gonna look
- 9:46Speaker 6: at that and.
- 9:47Speaker 5: The physical and Seattle.
- 9:48Speaker 4: I went on a free agent visit because this dummy
- 9:51Speaker 4: over here talk me into it. So I went on
- 9:53Speaker 4: a free agent visit to Seattle. Everything was going great,
- 9:57Speaker 4: thought I was gonna sign, like, hey, uh, we feel
- 10:00Speaker 4: your physical so.
- 10:01Speaker 5: We still want you.
- 10:02Speaker 4: But when you sign your deal, just know, even as
- 10:05Speaker 4: a vested veteran, we're gonna avoid the right for you
- 10:08Speaker 4: to get paid if you get hurt. I was like, no,
- 10:11Speaker 4: thirty years old, play fullback.
- 10:12Speaker 5: I'm gonna get something.
- 10:14Speaker 4: Yeah, And they were like, yeah, we like you, we
- 10:16Speaker 4: want you to sign, but just know, like if you
- 10:18Speaker 4: get hurt like everything, no money's coming back to you.
- 10:21Speaker 4: I was like, you don't want to be on that team? No,
- 10:23Speaker 4: well I thought I thought. I thought we're gonna have
- 10:25Speaker 4: some fun. Uniforms were cool. They were new that year.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Yeah, they were new that year. They were they were.
- 10:31Speaker 5: It was one of your selling points.
- 10:32Speaker 2: I remember when you called me like we had new uniforms.
- 10:34Speaker 2: But then like after thinking about it, they weren't that cool.
- 10:37Speaker 7: Yeah, they didn't have the coolest guy around playing quarterback
- 10:40Speaker 7: for him. Yeah, we would have fun, like playing ping
- 10:43Speaker 7: pong the locker room. Yeah I dominated that locker room.
- 10:46Speaker 7: Yeah I didn't. I ran that ran that room ping pong.
- 10:53Speaker 2: I believe you.
- 10:53Speaker 5: I've seen you play with four ball.
- 11:00Speaker 7: I'm I'm a little check of this. This Hendricks and stuff.
- 11:02Speaker 7: This is wild.
- 11:03Speaker 4: But like it's called yesterday. As soon as it's happened,
- 11:06Speaker 4: I go, they're gonna sign Tray. Yeah, that's what's gonna happen.
- 11:08Speaker 7: And they I think it's they.
- 11:11Speaker 4: Got some feedback back of hey, I don't know that
- 11:13Speaker 4: I was giving up two first round picks, Like Max
- 11:16Speaker 4: didn't have his best year last year, he had like
- 11:17Speaker 4: seven sacks.
- 11:19Speaker 2: He's get a.
- 11:19Speaker 4: Little bit older, great players still, but you're getting up
- 11:21Speaker 4: two first rounders. Why don't you just go make a move,
- 11:24Speaker 4: just like now the market's set for edge rusher. All right,
- 11:27Speaker 4: we know what it is. Go sign tray for twenty
- 11:29Speaker 4: eight per year, keep your first round picks and move on.
- 11:33Speaker 4: Which again, they had a guy coming off surgery that
- 11:37Speaker 4: everybody knew was going to fail a physical.
- 11:41Speaker 5: Everybody knew he just had surgery.
- 11:43Speaker 4: They knew weren't gonna be ready until August, but they
- 11:46Speaker 4: used it because now the market was set.
- 11:48Speaker 2: I die.
- 11:48Speaker 7: That's like, that's the that's the great loophole in the
- 11:50Speaker 7: NFL right now, is under the medical because.
- 11:55Speaker 5: Of a challenge it how do you challenge it's it's
- 11:57Speaker 5: my doctor.
- 11:58Speaker 6: Parent, it's a benu. Yeah, and that's it's gonna be.
- 12:01Speaker 6: You know, that's something that comes up in a lot
- 12:03Speaker 6: of avenues. It's it's you know, ano one of the
- 12:05Speaker 6: rules in college with if you know the guy fakes
- 12:07Speaker 6: an injury. You know, that's something we've talked about, like
- 12:09Speaker 6: how do they know? I mean, if I say he's injured.
- 12:11Speaker 6: Who you to tell me is not. It's kind of
- 12:13Speaker 6: the same argument.
- 12:15Speaker 5: You don't deserve the lab coat.
- 12:18Speaker 2: If they'll still wear that, it's only probably not some
- 12:21Speaker 2: do what color scrubs is like? A cool color? And
- 12:27Speaker 2: what color is like? What what color is like? Nerd alert?
- 12:30Speaker 5: Yeah, so be honest.
- 12:33Speaker 6: So I'm a big I'm a big black and navy
- 12:37Speaker 6: or most of mine, they're pretty much all there, you know,
- 12:39Speaker 6: kind of solid, kind of kind of traditional gold.
- 12:41Speaker 5: You got any of those? I do not. I do not.
- 12:44Speaker 6: Yeah, it wouldn't be opposed necessarily. I think, Uh, a.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Good strong color. I agree, Yeah, I agree.
- 12:49Speaker 6: Yeah, it's it's uh, we have some people that we
- 12:52Speaker 6: will call out if they get a little too colorful, okay. Uh,
- 12:55Speaker 6: And it depends I mean this, this may be wrong
- 12:57Speaker 6: to say. It depends on who they are. Some people
- 12:58Speaker 6: can pull it off and we got ten year Yeah, yeah,
- 13:00Speaker 6: some do. And then depends there's some things, but uh,
- 13:03Speaker 6: I want to call you about it specifically.
- 13:04Speaker 5: I'm gonna bet who you are.
- 13:05Speaker 4: I'm gonna bet you that doctor Banks was never one
- 13:07Speaker 4: of the ones you had to worry about. Uh.
- 13:11Speaker 5: There which every one with a camo one.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Yeah, he might he might not.
- 13:14Speaker 6: Honestly, he just grabbing whichever stock in the o R
- 13:16Speaker 6: whatever they got on the shelf is when he's grabbing her,
- 13:18Speaker 6: you know, and then and it pulls it off well
- 13:21Speaker 6: getting the custom fits oh no, no, off the shelf
- 13:24Speaker 6: in the.
- 13:25Speaker 7: So the colorful like the more color. It's kind of
- 13:27Speaker 7: like what we talked about the other day, laundr with
- 13:29Speaker 7: bangs with crazy hats, like they either wear you or
- 13:32Speaker 7: you wear it, right, So like you gott to own it,
- 13:35Speaker 7: own it if you're gonna do it, if you're gonna
- 13:37Speaker 7: go gold scrubs.
- 13:40Speaker 2: They have some bice apps coming out.
- 13:43Speaker 8: Uh.
- 13:44Speaker 4: Doctor heading in Nashville. Yeah, here pretty soon. Hopefully the
- 13:47Speaker 4: basketball team is still playing when you get there.
- 13:49Speaker 5: Yeah, I hope.
- 13:49Speaker 6: So you know, we got the early game today, so
- 13:51Speaker 6: if not doing anything midday to day, go watch that game.
- 13:53Speaker 6: But I won't get there till after that one. So
- 13:55Speaker 6: hopefully I get to catch the one tomorrow.
- 13:56Speaker 2: But you're gonna be there for a couple of days, right, Yeah.
- 13:58Speaker 6: We're going for a conference. They do a medical conference.
- 14:00Speaker 5: Stick around for baseball.
- 14:01Speaker 6: Yeah, I'll be there Friday night. I'm gonna go to
- 14:02Speaker 6: the Friday night game.
- 14:04Speaker 5: So you at least get to see the Tigers in action.
- 14:05Speaker 2: I will see these at least one way or another.
- 14:07Speaker 6: I'm seeing a Tiger's game, so yeah, fly out Saturday,
- 14:10Speaker 6: so I'll catch the Friday one and maybe maybe a
- 14:12Speaker 6: basketball game tomorrow.
- 14:12Speaker 2: We'll see.
- 14:13Speaker 7: You got so many sports happening right now, LSU, Like,
- 14:16Speaker 7: what is the what's the big id during football season?
- 14:20Speaker 7: You deal, there's concussions that Like, there's probably a lot
- 14:23Speaker 7: less of that now because I don't think soccer season's
- 14:26Speaker 7: happening right now, and I know women's soccer there's a
- 14:28Speaker 7: lot of concussions in that as well. So what's like
- 14:30Speaker 7: some of the main injuries you see with a lot
- 14:32Speaker 7: of the Olympics sports.
- 14:33Speaker 6: So yeah, we got a lot going on. And you
- 14:35Speaker 6: know sport by sports is gonna be different. You know,
- 14:37Speaker 6: baseball you wear about the arm injuries. You know, you
- 14:39Speaker 6: get some of the sliding injuries, you get people get
- 14:41Speaker 6: stepped on and things like that.
- 14:42Speaker 5: Well not with the oven.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Yeah, have you ever seen that?
- 14:45Speaker 7: It was was was finger injuries a big enough problem
- 14:49Speaker 7: to where we had to create these you know, we
- 14:51Speaker 7: never came melt.
- 14:52Speaker 6: It was you know, maybe that's sometimes we're the old
- 14:55Speaker 6: school you know it's it's lighting. Yeah, I mean, I
- 14:57Speaker 6: got a couple of crooked ones from actually is a battle. Well,
- 15:01Speaker 6: but yeah, and then you know in different sports, no, gymnastics,
- 15:03Speaker 6: we see a lot of ankles, we see lot of shoulders,
- 15:05Speaker 6: and gymnastics shoulders, they're they're so beat up, especially at
- 15:08Speaker 6: this point of the season. You know we're getting close to postseason.
- 15:10Speaker 6: You got one more home game this or home meet
- 15:12Speaker 6: this Friday, y'all.
- 15:15Speaker 5: I did not. I didn't. Yeah, you don't want to
- 15:16Speaker 5: go there if you don't have to.
- 15:17Speaker 6: I hate Gainesville. Yeah, I would drive around at every
- 15:20Speaker 6: opportunity I could.
- 15:20Speaker 5: Yeah, your jeans have legs, so you wouldn't fit in anyway.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 15:23Speaker 7: If you had to formulate an opinion on toughness, our
- 15:25Speaker 7: gymnasts the toughest.
- 15:28Speaker 2: I think they I think they are.
- 15:29Speaker 6: I think Look, I tell people, there are toughest athletes,
- 15:32Speaker 6: and in my opinion.
- 15:32Speaker 5: Probably our best athletes.
- 15:34Speaker 6: If you watch what they do, and even there, it's
- 15:36Speaker 6: the beam I I don't I couldn't walk across it,
- 15:39Speaker 6: and I'm reasonably athletic, and they're doing all the things
- 15:42Speaker 6: that I couldn't even fathom doing. Yeah, yeah, exactly, I mean,
- 15:47Speaker 6: I I know, even that my peak, peak of my abilities,
- 15:51Speaker 6: I would have not known who.
- 15:52Speaker 2: They do, not even anything close.
- 15:53Speaker 5: I think my foot's wider than the beat.
- 15:55Speaker 7: Another thing you can do, like a fair where you
- 15:57Speaker 7: get strapped into like a bungee and you're on a trampoline,
- 15:59Speaker 7: you can do. Yeah, I couldn't do the things they
- 16:02Speaker 7: do on a three inch beam that's right on that thing.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Yeah, like not even close. Yeah, it's outrageous.
- 16:08Speaker 6: But yeah, I know they're they're fantastic and they're they're
- 16:10Speaker 6: doing great.
- 16:12Speaker 4: All right, Doctor Steven Nathlard, it's good enough to join

- 18:18Speaker 9: this behave.
- 18:20Speaker 5: It's just a no.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Off the bench presented by hoodental. Go ahead, go ahead,
- 18:33Speaker 1: go ahead.
- 18:42Speaker 4: Like if we're talking about like wedding songs to get
- 18:44Speaker 4: you on the dance floor, like this is getting me
- 18:46Speaker 4: out there way before, shall.
- 18:49Speaker 5: Way before?
- 18:51Speaker 4: If involved, if Timberlin is involved, I'm like, all right,
- 18:54Speaker 4: let's go any Timberlin saw get out on the dance floor.
- 18:59Speaker 5: Don't let carry out get on.
- 19:00Speaker 7: I'm out there. I'm so tired of arguing with people
- 19:04Speaker 7: that don't know wedding receptions, so I don't even want
- 19:06Speaker 7: to talk about it.
- 19:07Speaker 4: I've been married the longest of anybody in this room,
- 19:09Speaker 4: so it's been a while since I've.
- 19:12Speaker 5: Been in the game longer.
- 19:15Speaker 2: That is making sense.
- 19:16Speaker 5: I'm the oldest here too, seniority more weddings.
- 19:20Speaker 7: After forty, that's not a brag. Should we Should we
- 19:27Speaker 7: ask the people?
- 19:28Speaker 2: Are you're it's me off the days for from Bilbo? Yeah,
- 19:31Speaker 2: because you're because you're jumping what Oh yeah, you're really
- 19:37Speaker 2: dying on this hill?
- 19:38Speaker 10: He is, and then brought it up and then he's
- 19:41Speaker 10: going to tell you that he's not dying on it.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Y'all brought it up. He's like, y'all, Jake brought it up.
- 19:48Speaker 5: Hold up, now we're a Foxhold.
- 19:50Speaker 6: He's saying, y'all, so he unfoxfled well, and.
- 19:53Speaker 5: Then it goes to a new trap pod.
- 19:55Speaker 7: Oh on this particular in this particular opinion, I dug
- 20:02Speaker 7: my own fox off.
- 20:03Speaker 2: Yeah. Fine, I was getting a little bit soften now
- 20:08Speaker 2: mm hmm.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Uh.
- 20:13Speaker 4: Wednesday show is brought to you by Hood Dental Hoodentalcare
- 20:15Speaker 4: dot com, Hood Dentalcare dot Com. I'll tell you a
- 20:20Speaker 4: little bit about some incredible giveaways they have coming up
- 20:22Speaker 4: later on.
- 20:25Speaker 5: This Raiders Ravens.
- 20:27Speaker 4: Saying is fascinating to me now and again, Like, I
- 20:29Speaker 4: know it's not to be the top story in Mattanurice, Louisiana,
- 20:34Speaker 4: but I think anybody can appreciate what's going on and
- 20:38Speaker 4: how the Ravens are trying to get it done. And
- 20:40Speaker 4: people are being like, oh up, actually we see you,
- 20:44Speaker 4: like you're you're carrying the TV out of the home
- 20:47Speaker 4: that you just ripped it off the wall, and you're like,
- 20:50Speaker 4: I don't have anything in my hands, Like we see you.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Though, we caught you in four K yeah.
- 20:54Speaker 10: And like who's gonna who's gonna want to do deals
- 20:57Speaker 10: with these guys in the future.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Like I don't. I don't understanding.
- 21:00Speaker 10: Like they think they're winning this, they're not.
- 21:02Speaker 5: Yeah, And I was listening to the guys after us.
- 21:05Speaker 2: They're not going to get.
- 21:08Speaker 4: Tom Tellusco, who's been a gym before. He's like, I can't.
- 21:13Speaker 4: I'm not blaming it. I'm not like accusing. He's like,
- 21:15Speaker 4: but like, if something is going on and this happens,
- 21:20Speaker 4: this will alter the ease of their deals, was kind
- 21:23Speaker 4: of the way he put it. Not that they wouldn't
- 21:24Speaker 4: get him done, he said, but it would change the
- 21:27Speaker 4: strategy for a lot of teams dealing with the Ravens.
- 21:32Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 21:32Speaker 5: Yeah, agents, agents too.
- 21:34Speaker 7: Takes a long time to build trust. Agents was brought
- 21:37Speaker 7: up to tear it down exactly.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Now.
- 21:45Speaker 7: I don't know if anyone's ever wondered this, but it's like,
- 21:47Speaker 7: how is like Adam Schefter and all these different folks
- 21:51Speaker 7: that are breaking is how they're getting this information?
- 21:53Speaker 2: Well, there is.
- 21:54Speaker 7: It's certainly a network of agents that feed Adam Schefter
- 21:59Speaker 7: this information because it's a give and take relationship. Schefter
- 22:03Speaker 7: feeds agents information, for sure, agents feeds Schefter information and
- 22:07Speaker 7: it's uh, you scratch my back, ey scratch yours, and
- 22:10Speaker 7: everybody's okay with it because it enhances the visibility of
- 22:14Speaker 7: the NFL. But in situations like this, it's certainly puts
- 22:21Speaker 7: people in a bad spot. Now they put themselves in
- 22:23Speaker 7: the ravens, put themselves in a bad spot. That's not
- 22:26Speaker 7: the way to do business in any line of business.
- 22:29Speaker 7: But let's not say it's unheard of in the world
- 22:31Speaker 7: of business. People make deals and back out of deals
- 22:34Speaker 7: all the time.
- 22:34Speaker 2: In business. It's just not.
- 22:37Speaker 7: A sexy thing that people care about, like such as
- 22:41Speaker 7: Sportant Group.
- 22:43Speaker 4: I mean, you're talking about only thirty two teams in
- 22:45Speaker 4: this multi.
- 22:46Speaker 5: Brillion dollar business. No other businesses like.
- 22:50Speaker 2: This, right, you look like real estate. People get contracts
- 22:53Speaker 2: on real estate and back out like it happens.
- 22:55Speaker 4: I get to the eleventh hour, house is sold, I've
- 22:58Speaker 4: already had a moving company. I've already got my next purchase.
- 23:00Speaker 4: Like we're going to back out? Yeah, I guess this
- 23:03Speaker 4: other house. I feel like getting to the paperwork, is
- 23:06Speaker 4: this better house available?
- 23:08Speaker 7: It's got a better you know, sweeter pool, got a
- 23:12Speaker 7: wrestle pool, got a wrestle pool at this house.
- 23:14Speaker 2: We're going to back out of this other way, didn't The.
- 23:16Speaker 10: Only thing that would make this better if the Raiders
- 23:20Speaker 10: can't sign all their free agents because Max is still
- 23:23Speaker 10: on the book at the Ravens resigned Tyler Linderbaum.
- 23:28Speaker 2: It see, the only thing.
- 23:28Speaker 5: That'll make Ravens don't have their room to do it.
- 23:30Speaker 5: But it would be funny.
- 23:31Speaker 7: I mean, ain't signing a center for twenty seven million
- 23:34Speaker 7: dollars nine million above the second highest paid center was
- 23:38Speaker 7: a dumb move.
- 23:38Speaker 4: Yeah, the Ravens have about like eighteen some change I
- 23:40Speaker 4: think in Soury CAP's space, but it would be funny. Uh,
- 23:43Speaker 4: the Raiders have thirty seven point nine million, so that
- 23:46Speaker 4: number goes down because now Max Crosby back on the books. Uh.
- 23:52Speaker 4: The Washington Commanders still had the most money to spend
- 23:55Speaker 4: seventy nine point eight million under the cap. They did
- 23:58Speaker 4: just make a move to bring in former LSU tiger
- 24:02Speaker 4: calevon Chasong one year, twelve million dollar deal. Calebon had
- 24:08Speaker 4: seven and a half sacks last year. Interesting career for
- 24:12Speaker 4: Klevon first round pick certainly didn't work out there for
- 24:16Speaker 4: him in Jacksonville. He goes to the Raiders and kind
- 24:19Speaker 4: of a last ditch effort type deal, has a solid
- 24:24Speaker 4: enough season where he signs with the Patriots and then
- 24:26Speaker 4: at the end of the year he was kind of dominant,
- 24:31Speaker 4: like there was there was times where it was real
- 24:32Speaker 4: tough to block him, and so he parlays that into
- 24:36Speaker 4: a bettle on yourself deal. One year's twelve million dollars.
- 24:39Speaker 4: So shout out to Calebon, we go, we get that money.
- 24:43Speaker 4: Hopefully nobody backs out.
- 24:47Speaker 2: That's true.
- 24:48Speaker 7: It's wild, man, we're kind of poking fun at it.
- 24:51Speaker 7: But this is especially with this big blockbus server trade,
- 24:54Speaker 7: this is unheard of. This is going to send shockwaves
- 24:57Speaker 7: throughout the NFL. There's going to be rules that are
- 24:59Speaker 7: going to need to be changed. There's gonna be a Max.
- 25:01Speaker 2: Crosby rule or the Ravens rule or whatever they want
- 25:04Speaker 2: to call it.
- 25:05Speaker 7: Yeah, there's gonna I don't know what you do because
- 25:07Speaker 7: you can't stop that. You can't stop people leaking information,
- 25:11Speaker 7: right uh, because that's gonna happen. That's why I kind
- 25:13Speaker 7: of started the segment. I signed like that. This is
- 25:15Speaker 7: how the leaks happen. It's not the Ravens. The team
- 25:18Speaker 7: owners in the NFL allow these leaks to happen because
- 25:21Speaker 7: it's good for the publicity of the sport and the
- 25:23Speaker 7: shield and the like, the promotion of the NFL. It's
- 25:27Speaker 7: great for that. That's why it's everyone's okay and good
- 25:30Speaker 7: with it. And it's always usually correct information. I won't
- 25:34Speaker 7: say always usually correct information because it's the actual agent.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Let's talking to Adam Schefter. Yeah, so it's usually fairy.
- 25:40Speaker 4: Actually, I'll tell all these I mean, because the team
- 25:42Speaker 4: can't announce these deals, like the team's not gonna like
- 25:45Speaker 4: the team will put out a meme if they signed
- 25:47Speaker 4: somebody that tries to make you guess, was it the
- 25:49Speaker 4: Bears that sign Kobe Bryant from the Seahawks and they
- 25:52Speaker 4: put out a Kobe Bryant Lakers meme?
- 25:56Speaker 2: Right, they can't give you the dollars and cents, but
- 25:58Speaker 2: they can, you know, take it with their version of
- 26:01Speaker 2: a Tiger emogi.
- 26:02Speaker 4: Right, So exactly, so Schefty gets these from the agent
- 26:06Speaker 4: and everybody knows and that's how they leak and that's
- 26:08Speaker 4: how they get out there.
- 26:09Speaker 5: Again, nothing is officially official until three o'clock.
- 26:12Speaker 4: Central time for Eastern today, like that is when you
- 26:15Speaker 4: can officially so like there's gonna be players that are
- 26:18Speaker 4: in these cities right now waiting and then once they
- 26:22Speaker 4: get to go, they get to the hospital, get the
- 26:23Speaker 4: physical and becomes official, or if you're the Ravens, unofficial
- 26:27Speaker 4: because it doesn't happen.
- 26:28Speaker 7: How are you feeling so Like, if you're a player
- 26:30Speaker 7: that has agreed to terms with the Raiders right now
- 26:32Speaker 7: because of they thought they had the cap space for
- 26:34Speaker 7: the Max Carlsby and I know you're saying they still
- 26:36Speaker 7: have a lot of cap space, but how are you
- 26:38Speaker 7: feeling right now because you agreed to this and now
- 26:41Speaker 7: there's other teams that have filled the need. Like if
- 26:43Speaker 7: you were negotiating between the Raiders, the Seahawks and the
- 26:47Speaker 7: forty nine ers and you just you chose the and
- 26:51Speaker 7: I'm just giving these other example, right and you chose
- 26:53Speaker 7: the Raiders, and now these other teams have filled that need.
- 26:56Speaker 7: Now there's no spot for you. Now you're negotiating. Now
- 26:58Speaker 7: you're looking at like life changing implications because of this,
- 27:02Speaker 7: because maybe now you have to you take five, six, seven,
- 27:04Speaker 7: eight million dollars less than you did before. Maybe if
- 27:07Speaker 7: you're a big guy, maybe you're taking the center. Maybe
- 27:10Speaker 7: he's got to take nine million less a year. I mean,
- 27:12Speaker 7: that's obviously a huge deal, but the implications could be
- 27:18Speaker 7: absolutely massive and what a wild story and absolutely unheard
- 27:22Speaker 7: of and uh, shame on the Ravens. But they're not
- 27:25Speaker 7: going to apologize for it and they probably shouldn't. Just
- 27:28Speaker 7: like we said in business, people back out of deals
- 27:30Speaker 7: all the time. It just so happens that people are
- 27:32Speaker 7: a little bit more invested in know the the inner
- 27:36Speaker 7: workings of the NFL because it's so public.
- 27:38Speaker 5: Yep.
- 27:40Speaker 4: And also like they signed some guys at that position
- 27:45Speaker 4: and Max Crosby's going to be playing that probably thought
- 27:48Speaker 4: that their role in the team was going to be different.
- 27:51Speaker 4: I'm talking about like they didn't sign the agreed pretty
- 27:53Speaker 4: pay signed for over forty million dollars plus, so like
- 27:57Speaker 4: he was he thought he was going to be the dude.
- 28:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm the guy.
- 28:01Speaker 5: So we shall see.
- 28:04Speaker 4: And again I do agree there's gonna be ramifications from
- 28:08Speaker 4: the NFL if something does come out, or even if
- 28:10Speaker 4: it does, what but they'll try.
- 28:13Speaker 5: To see it.
- 28:14Speaker 7: Yeah, like maybe no trades can be announced till after
- 28:19Speaker 7: physical how about that?
- 28:20Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll never happen because of people texting Jake Glazer
- 28:25Speaker 4: and thefty and.
- 28:27Speaker 7: Yeah, that's it's gonna be a it's gonna be a
- 28:32Speaker 7: hard thing to close. The leaking of information not gonna happen.
- 28:37Speaker 7: I'm not gonna not gonna work here anymore.
- 28:41Speaker 4: All right, we will take a break and when we
- 28:43Speaker 4: come back. LSU had basketball coach Kim Mulky. You wanted

- 30:42Speaker 1: The music should move the bones.
- 30:46Speaker 2: Just remember.
- 31:00Speaker 5: All right.
- 31:00Speaker 4: Welcome back in oh TV. Here live from the Raising
- 31:03Speaker 4: Kanes Studio. Wednesday shows brought you by Hood Dental Care.
- 31:07Speaker 4: Also on Wednesdays, we had a pleasure of catching up
- 31:11Speaker 4: with one of our absolute favorites, coach Kim Mulki. They
- 31:14Speaker 4: had basketball coach at the LSU Tigers getting ready for
- 31:17Speaker 4: the postseason.
- 31:18Speaker 2: Coach, we always appreciate it.
- 31:19Speaker 5: Hope you're doing well this Wednesday morning heading to practice.
- 31:23Speaker 4: Big guys.
- 31:24Speaker 8: I have a nine am practice game, two or three
- 31:28Speaker 8: days off after the SEC Tournament, and we just got
- 31:33Speaker 8: to keep moving until Sunday when they announce the pairings
- 31:36Speaker 8: on television that evening.
- 31:38Speaker 5: That's rating. Coach.
- 31:39Speaker 4: I always love your approach to the SEC Tournament. You
- 31:41Speaker 4: go in with a plan and you try to make
- 31:44Speaker 4: sure that you'll execute the plan, and there's different things
- 31:46Speaker 4: that you want to work on. And look, certainly had
- 31:50Speaker 4: some great performances there in Greenville. I mean the game
- 31:53Speaker 4: against Oklahoma. That's a good basketball team and to be
- 31:55Speaker 4: able to win like that. Another hard fall game against
- 31:58Speaker 4: South Carolina as well. Before we move forward to what
- 32:02Speaker 4: you have coming up, how did you fill your team
- 32:03Speaker 4: played in the SEC Tournament.
- 32:06Speaker 8: I thought we left it out on the floor. We're
- 32:09Speaker 8: just a little bit there's you know, there's just a
- 32:11Speaker 8: small margin of era when you play a South Carolina
- 32:15Speaker 8: or a Yukon or any of those, even Texas, and man,
- 32:20Speaker 8: we fought hard in both South Carolina games this year
- 32:24Speaker 8: and did the same in a hostile environment there with
- 32:27Speaker 8: eighteen thousand plus people. With that many, all I know
- 32:31Speaker 8: is a pack full of game cock fans. But we
- 32:35Speaker 8: just you know, right there, and you know, as I
- 32:39Speaker 8: told the media afterwards, guys, I'm tired of hearing LSU's
- 32:45Speaker 8: eighteen And oh LSU might be, but Kim Malkey and
- 32:48Speaker 8: her teams are not. We've only played them seven times
- 32:51Speaker 8: since I've been here. Give me a break. We will
- 32:54Speaker 8: get there. It took me twenty something tries to start
- 32:59Speaker 8: winning in the Big twelve. I was there twenty one years.
- 33:03Speaker 8: You have to build a foundation, and I just know
- 33:05Speaker 8: what we've done in five years at LSU is pretty remarkable,
- 33:09Speaker 8: and I just I see the progress and we just
- 33:15Speaker 8: have to learn. You just keep teaching and you keep
- 33:19Speaker 8: showing them. Look at the lead. If you had executed
- 33:22Speaker 8: this right here, leaving a time out, you didn't go
- 33:24Speaker 8: do what you were supposed to do defensively. It's those
- 33:28Speaker 8: types of detail you got to do to be a
- 33:31Speaker 8: team that's going to beat somebody you're not supposed to beat.
- 33:34Speaker 8: And we've beaten people and we're not supposed to beat
- 33:36Speaker 8: But man, you're just so close to doing it on
- 33:39Speaker 8: a consistent basis.
- 33:42Speaker 7: Well, coach, of course, what you have done in your
- 33:44Speaker 7: time here at LSU has been incredible, and you got
- 33:47Speaker 7: another chance out of here coming up, of course, with
- 33:49Speaker 7: the NCAA Tournament. But I want to talk about is
- 33:51Speaker 7: there anything that your team can learn? Are there any
- 33:53Speaker 7: coaching points that you can learn from the SEC tournament
- 33:56Speaker 7: just from the thought and the stressors that from playing
- 34:00Speaker 7: elimination tournament type style? Is there anything you can take
- 34:03Speaker 7: from that SEC tournament and coach and bring.
- 34:06Speaker 2: It to the.
- 34:08Speaker 6: Well.
- 34:09Speaker 8: The first thing I'm gonna do this morning is gather
- 34:11Speaker 8: them in the locker room. I haven't seen them since
- 34:13Speaker 8: the loss, and we're not gonna do film on any
- 34:17Speaker 8: of the games in the SEC tournament. What we're gonna
- 34:20Speaker 8: do is talk about what's ahead. Some of them don't
- 34:24Speaker 8: even know because I have, you know, a lot in
- 34:27Speaker 8: that locker room that have never participated in the NCAA tournament.
- 34:30Speaker 8: And I'll explain to them, Guys, this particular team is well,
- 34:36Speaker 8: they are. They're gonna have the highest seed in the
- 34:39Speaker 8: NCAA Tournament of any of the teams I've had at LSU.
- 34:43Speaker 8: That's a remarkable feat. We're probably gonna be the first
- 34:45Speaker 8: number two or the second number two team, and they
- 34:50Speaker 8: need to know that is progress, that is continuing to
- 34:54Speaker 8: build this foundation. Then I'm gonna have to explain to
- 34:57Speaker 8: several of them how you're gonna get to play the
- 35:00Speaker 8: first and second round game here. Obviously you got to
- 35:03Speaker 8: win the first to get to the second round, but
- 35:05Speaker 8: that's big. Again, We've done that every year since I've
- 35:08Speaker 8: been here. And then you win those two games, you're
- 35:11Speaker 8: in the sweet sixteen, and coaches coach a lifetime and
- 35:15Speaker 8: never get to a sweet sixteen or lead eight or
- 35:18Speaker 8: final four, win a Natty, and just explain to them
- 35:22Speaker 8: what we're getting ready to do. And then I will
- 35:25Speaker 8: talk to them about the twenty twenty three team that
- 35:29Speaker 8: won the national championship and the adversity we went through.
- 35:34Speaker 8: Our five losses are so tight and close, and we
- 35:40Speaker 8: haven't had just a horrible meltdown or beat down in
- 35:44Speaker 8: any loss, and that twenty twenty three team did. We
- 35:48Speaker 8: got killed at South Carolina, actually embarrassed. We lost a
- 35:52Speaker 8: seventeen point lead in the SEC Tournament to Tennessee. I
- 35:57Speaker 8: suspended a couple of players during that season and we
- 36:00Speaker 8: win the Natty, adversity happens. We haven't really had adversity.
- 36:05Speaker 8: We haven't had to do anything to discipline kids this year,
- 36:09Speaker 8: we haven't had bad losses. So I'll explain all of
- 36:13Speaker 8: this and tell them it's who plays on a role
- 36:17Speaker 8: here these next six games, and why not us? We
- 36:20Speaker 8: finished the season ranked fifth in the country, fifth in
- 36:23Speaker 8: the country behind the four top seeds Yukon, UCLA, Texas,
- 36:28Speaker 8: and South Carolina. You're right there, and so I'll talk
- 36:33Speaker 8: to them about that and tell them the most talented
- 36:36Speaker 8: teams and the ones that are expected to win it
- 36:38Speaker 8: all don't always do that, and we're living proof of that.
- 36:43Speaker 5: That's right.
- 36:43Speaker 4: Catching up with LSAD basketball coach Kim Mulki here on
- 36:46Speaker 4: OTB coach. As you were talking, I started thinking about
- 36:50Speaker 4: some of the players that you have that have been
- 36:52Speaker 4: through the situation of playing in the postseason. But then
- 36:54Speaker 4: I started thinking about some of the freshmen like Grace
- 36:56Speaker 4: Knox and then Bella Hindes is somebody that came in
- 36:59Speaker 4: against O Oklahoma and hit three three pointers and she
- 37:02Speaker 4: might have a moment in the NCUBA Tournament. So when
- 37:04Speaker 4: those freshmen are going into their first Okay, hey, this
- 37:08Speaker 4: is going to be different, right. You've played in the
- 37:09Speaker 4: SEC tournament, You've played in big games, but this is
- 37:12Speaker 4: the NCUBA tournament. Do you maybe have a conversation with
- 37:16Speaker 4: those freshmen players?
- 37:17Speaker 5: Do you let the team.
- 37:18Speaker 4: Maybe have that conversation, maybe let them watch the older players.
- 37:21Speaker 4: How do you handle freshmen that are going to be
- 37:24Speaker 4: exposed to the NCAA tournament for the first time and
- 37:26Speaker 4: be counted on to have big roles.
- 37:28Speaker 8: Well, first of all, you talk to them as a group,
- 37:31Speaker 8: as a team, and I'll do that every day in preparation.
- 37:35Speaker 8: And then my approach is the NCAA tournament is a
- 37:40Speaker 8: cake walk compared to the SEC and compared to the
- 37:43Speaker 8: SEC tournament. I mean, guys, if you can do good
- 37:47Speaker 8: at the SEC tournament, which you did, and you can
- 37:50Speaker 8: do good throughout the season event, particularly this year, y'all
- 37:54Speaker 8: going to breathe a sigh of relief when you play
- 37:56Speaker 8: in the NCAA tournament, honestly, and just let them no,
- 38:00Speaker 8: it's it's not different other than the big difference and
- 38:03Speaker 8: only differences. If you don't win, you go into the house.
- 38:09Speaker 2: Coach.
- 38:10Speaker 7: Assistant coach Gary Ritas is going to take the head
- 38:12Speaker 7: coaching job for Rutgers. How does that impact what y'all
- 38:15Speaker 7: are doing? How's that? How's that going to work on
- 38:18Speaker 7: the towards the end of the season and headed into
- 38:20Speaker 7: the NCAA tournament.
- 38:21Speaker 8: Well, the timing of as you we're guilty of it
- 38:25Speaker 8: at LSU. Didn't we go get a coach at Old
- 38:27Speaker 8: Miss in the middle of the playoffs? So you know,
- 38:33Speaker 8: timing is everything in life. I'm not used to all
- 38:38Speaker 8: of this stuff happening during the season. I've watched it
- 38:43Speaker 8: play itself out in all sports. And until you have
- 38:47Speaker 8: some parameters on when you can hire coaches, this is
- 38:50Speaker 8: going to continue to happen because each institution is looking
- 38:53Speaker 8: out for themselves if their season's over. Why should I
- 38:55Speaker 8: have to wait until LSU season is over to hire somebody.
- 39:00Speaker 9: So that is.
- 39:01Speaker 8: Different for me. I've never had this happen before where
- 39:04Speaker 8: coach was taken during the tournament. However, I cannot be
- 39:08Speaker 8: any happier for Gary redis that young man was at
- 39:14Speaker 8: Delta State, that young man went to Vandy, that whole
- 39:18Speaker 8: staff got fired at Vandy. He goes to SMU for
- 39:21Speaker 8: one year and didn't have a great year. I have
- 39:24Speaker 8: an opening because my recruiter at that time, got a
- 39:27Speaker 8: head job at Central Florida and then Gary I brought
- 39:33Speaker 8: him on board, and man, he was just like he's
- 39:35Speaker 8: like an energizer bunny when it comes to recruiting. And
- 39:39Speaker 8: that's what he did for our program. He was a
- 39:41Speaker 8: recruiter on the court, He worked with guards and doing drills.
- 39:45Speaker 8: They all have specific things that they do. And obviously
- 39:48Speaker 8: doctor Tate and Kelly Zen having been at LSU no
- 39:54Speaker 8: my program. And I just know that he has an
- 39:58Speaker 8: opportunity to go at a young age and do good things.
- 40:04Speaker 8: And he will work his rear end off and try
- 40:07Speaker 8: to improve that program. And so as I told him,
- 40:12Speaker 8: you can't be married to two wives, I said, get
- 40:15Speaker 8: out of here, go to work, get your pro get
- 40:18Speaker 8: your staff in place, get your kids you know that
- 40:21Speaker 8: are there to stay. He hasn't even visited Rutgers. He
- 40:25Speaker 8: took the job, you know, over the phone or whatever.
- 40:28Speaker 8: And I know his love for our program and our team.
- 40:31Speaker 8: He'd want to be on the bench with us too,
- 40:33Speaker 8: But as a mentor, I can't. I can't be selfish
- 40:37Speaker 8: and ask him to stay with our team when this
- 40:41Speaker 8: could be a long three or four week process with
- 40:43Speaker 8: the playoffs. You need to be working. And so he's gonna,
- 40:47Speaker 8: you know, get after it at Rutgers. And he could
- 40:52Speaker 8: take one of our coaches, like coach Daphane, his his wife,
- 40:56Speaker 8: his best friends with coach Daphne. They played at Georgia
- 40:59Speaker 8: Tech Toga other and we're roommates. And if he does,
- 41:02Speaker 8: I'll be happy for her as well. I told somebody
- 41:05Speaker 8: the other day, I said, my last two recruiters God
- 41:08Speaker 8: had jobs. I said, I feel like Nick Saban, I
- 41:13Speaker 8: feel like I'm preparing you know, all his coordinators, from
- 41:17Speaker 8: Lane Kiffon to the guy at Texas. I mean, how
- 41:20Speaker 8: many you know Brian Lee's the NFL and heat end up.
- 41:23Speaker 8: But that's okay, that's respect, and that is preparing the
- 41:29Speaker 8: future of our game. And it just makes me have
- 41:33Speaker 8: to get on the phone a little more right now
- 41:35Speaker 8: and try to hire somebody to replace him. And if
- 41:39Speaker 8: I have to hire two, I will. I hope I don't,
- 41:41Speaker 8: but if I have to, I will, And we'll keep
- 41:44Speaker 8: keeping on.
- 41:45Speaker 4: Coach Kim Bulkey, you gonna have to join us every
- 41:47Speaker 4: single Wednesday morning here during the basketball season.
- 41:50Speaker 5: Coach.
- 41:51Speaker 4: We always appreciate the time, look forward to seeing how
- 41:53Speaker 4: it plays out on selections Sunday coming up, and we
- 41:57Speaker 4: know the PMAC is going to be rocking for those
- 41:59Speaker 4: games coming up, So we appreciate look forward to watching
- 42:02Speaker 4: your team plate in the NCAA tournament.
- 42:04Speaker 8: Hey guys, thank you, thank you again.
- 42:06Speaker 5: Coach Kim Maulke. Every single Wednesday morning here on OTB.
- 42:11Speaker 4: Practice in twelve minutes, yep, you could tell like she
- 42:14Speaker 4: was like running into the building too, like ready she.
- 42:16Speaker 2: Was in the tunnel talking to him.
- 42:18Speaker 5: I bet I don't know this. I don't know what
- 42:21Speaker 5: to be factual, but I'm just gonna guess.
- 42:23Speaker 4: Knowing Coach Malkey, since you don't have an opponent, and
- 42:26Speaker 4: since you had a couple of days off, I hope
- 42:28Speaker 4: you had your mind high today. It's gonna be a practice.
- 42:31Speaker 4: It's gonna be a days lines. Yes, you know, just
- 42:35Speaker 4: like hey, I had some days off. Yeah, I'll get
- 42:38Speaker 4: your mind right. Yeah to say that from experience, yeah, exactly,
- 42:42Speaker 4: as it's bull practice, it is bowl practice.
- 42:45Speaker 5: Sorry, we'll take a.
- 42:46Speaker 4: Break more OTB when we come back here. Well, live
- 42:48Speaker 4: from the Raising Kain studio.

- 45:00Speaker 2: Right.

- 45:04Speaker 2: Oh nice?
- 45:05Speaker 5: Yeah, when I went down.

- 45:42Speaker 4: but we were going to go together.
- 45:44Speaker 2: But I did it on the phone.
- 45:46Speaker 5: That doesn't matter how you did it.
- 45:47Speaker 2: Peptide pals, Sure, peptide pals. How do you? Matt would
- 45:53Speaker 2: love that. That's a good one. Y'all can be pet pals.
- 45:56Speaker 2: I don't like that as much instead of pin pals,
- 45:59Speaker 2: pet pals doing.
- 46:00Speaker 7: Something called the wolverine right now, not a big deal.
- 46:05Speaker 7: Just ultra healing, feeling great, gut health as well. Man,
- 46:10Speaker 7: feeling good.
- 46:11Speaker 4: We need you with that gut health. Those burps, no way,
- 46:16Speaker 4: I know.
- 46:16Speaker 2: Smile. It's a body just being ultra efficient. Sorry about it.
- 46:23Speaker 5: All right.
- 46:23Speaker 4: When we come back, I do want to dive into
- 46:26Speaker 4: the New Orleans Saints, what they've done, what they could
- 46:28Speaker 4: do in free agency as it actually starts a little
- 46:31Speaker 4: bit later today.
- 46:33Speaker 1: Off the bench,
