- 2:55news, Middleborough's beloved blizzards will
- 2:59keep swirling as owner George Panini sold the
- 3:02town's Dairy Queen for $4 .2 million to his two
- 3:06nieces. This sale is one of the highest priced
- 3:09ever achieved for a Dairy Queen asset, according
- 3:12to brokers Marcus and Millicap. Ranking as the
- 3:16second highest grossing, treat -only Dairy Queen
- 3:19franchise in the United States, this location
- 3:22is the most visited Dairy Queen in Massachusetts.
- 3:25The store first opened in 1952 and has been a
- 3:29community staple ever since. New owners Nicole
- 3:32Panini -Ferrara and Cara Panini -Kendrickan are
- 3:36excited to protect the traditions that they've
- 3:39built in the community. Now on to sports. Victor
- 3:48Wimbanyama scored 27 points with 17 rebounds,
- 3:525 assists, and 3 block shots, leading the San
- 3:56Antonio Spurs to a 126 -97 home win over the
- 4:01Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 5 of their Western
- 4:04Conference semifinals series on Tuesday. Wimbanyama,
- 4:08who avoided a suspension after elbowing Nas Reed
- 4:11and being ejected from Game 4, shot 9 of 16 to
- 4:16help San Antonio achieve 53 % shooting from the
- 4:19field. Despite trailing by as many as 30 points,
- 4:23Minnesota tied the game at 61 after a 14 -2 run
- 4:28to start the third quarter. Julius Randle struggled
- 4:31again, finishing with 17 points, but the Timberwolves
- 4:35need more from him to keep their season alive.
- 4:39In local sports. The Red Sox need to bounce back
- 4:43tonight against Philadelphia at Fenway. They
- 4:47dropped game one 2 -1 yesterday, and Sonny Gray
- 4:50takes the mound trying to even the series against
- 4:53Andrew Painter. Boston is struggling lately,
- 4:57sitting at 17 -24 with losses in their last two
- 5:01games. Bray has been a bright spot in the rotation,
- 5:05and the Sox have to tighten up defensively and
- 5:08capitalize on opportunities. This is must -win
- 5:12mentality territory. First pitch is at 645. Meanwhile,
- 5:18the Bruins are dealing with a significant loss.
- 5:22Charlie McAvoy, the team's top defenseman, got
- 5:26hit with a six -game suspension for slashing
- 5:29Buffalo's Sac Benson during the season ender
- 5:32on May 1st. McAvoy will miss the first few weeks
- 5:37of next season. It is the third suspension of
- 5:40his career and leaves Boston without one of their
- 5:43anchors on the blue line. On the basketball side,
- 5:47the Celtics' offseason is heating up. The Bucs
- 5:50have opened trade talks for Giannis Antetokounmpo,
- 5:53who told Milwaukee months ago he wants out. Boston
- 5:58has the assets to make a run at a major trade,
- 6:01six first -rounders over the next seven years,
- 6:04and multiple second -round picks give them real
- 6:07ammunition. Finally, the Patriots' rebuild continues
- 6:11taking shape with signings of rookies Xavier
- 6:14Holmes and Peter Manuma complementing their draft
- 6:17class. In top news, prices for these grocery
- 6:23items have spiked highest since the war began.
- 6:27The effects of the conflict in Iran are starting
- 6:30to show up in supermarkets. Grocery prices climbed
- 6:34at their fastest rate in nearly four years. putting
- 6:37increased pressure on Americans' wallets at a
- 6:40time when many are already feeling pessimistic
- 6:43about the economy. Prices for groceries spiked
- 6:46in April, according to data released by the Bureau
- 6:49of Labor Statistics, while broader inflation
- 6:52reached its highest level in nearly three years.
- 6:56Costs spiked especially for key staples, including
- 7:00fresh produce and beef. Tomato prices soared
- 7:0315 % in April compared with a month ago. and
- 7:07are up nearly 40 % in the last year. In business
- 7:12news, questions had swirled around whether GameStop
- 7:16could afford to buy eBay and compete with Amazon.
- 7:20California online marketplace eBay said Tuesday
- 7:23its board rejected GameStop's unsolicited $56
- 7:27billion takeover offer. The proposal was neither
- 7:31credible nor attractive, eBay's board stated.
- 7:35The San Jose company rejected the bid after considering
- 7:39various factors related to growth and profitability.
- 7:43GameStop's bold e -commerce ambitions to take
- 7:46on bigger rivals like Amazon have been set back
- 7:49by this rejection. Cohen noted that eBay also
- 7:52focuses on selling collectibles, like trading
- 7:55cards. GameStop has a market cap of $10 billion,
- 8:00significantly lower than eBay's $48 billion market
- 8:04cap. Earlier this month, GameStop offered to
- 8:08acquire eBay for $125 per share in cash and stock.
- 8:13Cohen mentioned the offer included half cash
- 8:16and half stock. GameStop stock fell more than
- 8:203 % to roughly $22 per share on Tuesday. In crypto
- 8:25movement, Bitcoin is down 1 % to about $81 ,000.
- 8:32Ethereum is down 1%. to about $2 ,000. And XRP
- 8:37is down 1 .5 % to $1 .44. Moving on to a more
- 8:44local vibe. In our community spotlight on health
- 8:48and wellness, we are working with a national

- 9:15for a free class. With locations in Canton, Wellesley,
- 9:20Hingham, Brookline, and Framingham, just be sure
- 9:24to tell them, sunny morning sent you by. And
- 9:28now, back to the show. Let's talk tech. Small
- 9:33business owner Tyler Cadwell takes his Mac Mini
- 9:36on the road. In the passenger seat of Tyler Cadwell's
- 9:40Ford Bronco sits a Mac Mini connected to a portable
- 9:43battery and Starlink internet satellite dish,
- 9:46along with a touchscreen monitor mounted to the
- 9:49dash. Cadwell, founder of Everything Etched,
- 9:52an Arizona -based small business selling custom
- 9:55-engraved glassware, enjoys disappearing into
- 9:58the state's sandstone canyons to brainstorm.
- 10:02Now the 39 -year -old entrepreneur travels with
- 10:05his artificial intelligence assistant named Edgy.
- 10:08Edgy automates coding requests and manages marketing
- 10:12tasks, responding to supply chain issues and
- 10:15more. Cadwell describes it as his first AI employee.
- 10:22And in entertainment news, the Strikeforce 5
- 10:26is letting Steph Colbert shine solo on May 21st.
- 10:31Both the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon and
- 10:34Jimmy Kimmel Live will go dark that evening,
- 10:36in solidarity with the departing host. We still
- 10:40do not know exactly what Colbert has planned
- 10:43for his final show. His dream guest, Pope Leo
- 10:47XIV, may still be out of reach. According to
- 10:50Kimmel, more people are watching late -night
- 10:53television now than when Johnny Carson was on.
- 10:56And by Kimmel's estimation, his show getting
- 10:59pulled briefly last year cost Disney billions
- 11:02of dollars. It is very possible that no employee
- 11:06in the history of any company has cost their
- 11:08employer more than hiring him. Well, alrighty
- 11:12folks, it's time for the quote of the day. And
- 11:16today, our quote comes from the American poet
- 11:19and civil rights activist, Maya Angelou. And
- 11:23she said, You may not control all the events
- 11:26that happen to you, but you can decide not to
- 11:29be reduced by them. And that's a wrap for this
- 11:33morning. You can check out our Instagram, YouTube,
- 11:37and TikTok for some captivating aerial videos

- 11:45an amazing day, my good friends. We'll see you
