Latest / Social Proof Podcast / The Hidden Cost of Going Viral as an Entrepreneur
Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: I'm feeling really conflicted because we have three podcasts, we have the social proof podcast, we have the selection process podcast, I have the full transparency podcast, and David has the hot seat podcast, and every now and then, but more often than not lately, the audience is really,
- 0:29[SPEAKER_01]: Is the audience being really, really harsh on the guest or are the guests saying what they said and their thoughts are shocking the world?
- 0:38[SPEAKER_01]: the audience.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_01]: I recently released an episode of the selection process podcast and I always warned my guest, especially the ladies that, hey, say what you mean and mean what you say because the guys and the audience, they are going to find any little thing that they can connect to and eat you alive in the comments.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_01]: And every single time.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_01]: the guests say, oh, I'm not worried about that.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_01]: I'm ready.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_01]: I say what I say, and I mean what I say in blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, and then a moment the episode drops and then when the clips drop after that of the episode turns out, they weren't so ready Dave.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: Mmm, never are.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_01]: They weren't so ready.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: And the reason someone comes on a podcast, wants to have a conversation, is to get their thoughts out into the world, right?
- 1:28[SPEAKER_00]: Get their perspective.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: And maybe, and I think the reason people do it is because they want people to hear their perspective.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_00]: The challenge is, if somehow the clip starts going left where the majority doesn't agree with the perspective,
- 1:47[SPEAKER_00]: It's the show's fault.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_00]: It's, oh, they're trying to get viral clips from you.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: No, that's what you said.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: In this in every single time, I've never had so I've never like posted something, especially if they accept the collab or they post it, they watch it, they like it.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: But based on what the audience says, that's when they have problems.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_01]: So I recently had this happen with a young lady with her episode dropping.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_01]: And on YouTube, mixed reviews.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_01]: Like some people are like, I totally get everything she's saying and then others are saying, oh, absolutely not.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_01]: Like this is a ridiculous mindset, basically, right?
- 2:31[SPEAKER_01]: So the clip's drop.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_01]: And for the record, I don't pick my clips.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_01]: All right, we have a team of professionals who pick the clips.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_01]: I do post the clips, but I don't pick the clips, right?
- 2:43[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't ever really have too much of a problem with the clips that my clipper picks because it's what the guest said.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_01]: If we were taking a piece from this moment and a piece from that moment and a piece from this moment and putting something together to make it sound like something they said, something that they didn't say, then I would feel differently.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_01]: But they're usually taking one to three minutes of what the guest actually said.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_01]: And in this clip, the young lady says what she says and she accepts the collaboration we collaborate with every guest, she accepts the collaboration the post is up for 5, 6, 7, 10 hours.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_01]: and she's responding to people.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, there's a level of attack happening.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_01]: There are some people who are saying, oh, you guys are being hard on her.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_01]: And there's other people, particularly men who are like, who's going to want you and blah, blah, blah.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_01]: And I understand that those comments may not be easy to read.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_01]: I get it.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: But what happened next?
- 3:46[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I'm in my notifications because my notifications are blowing up with this young ladies comments with with comments from this episode And I noticed that one of the comments is responding to her directly, but it has that at know and you LL and I said well, that's interesting Because that's evidence that you've been blocked.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: You got blocked.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_01]: I got blocked So I click on the post I click on her page and she has blocked me
- 4:13[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I could post the video from before the episode when she was warned, like, hey, whatever your thoughts are your thoughts.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_01]: I welcome all of your thoughts and perspective, but just keep in mind that the audience is really aggressive, especially to women.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_01]: I could post that, right?
- 4:31[SPEAKER_01]: Where, oh, I could post, where she wasn't too worried about that.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_01]: I could also post,
- 4:35[SPEAKER_01]: immediately after the show when she's like, donning, I like this.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_01]: I thank you so much for having me on the show.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_01]: I could post the parts where she says she really enjoyed the conversation.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_01]: I could post the part where I asked her, are you ready for, you know, how people will respond and react to this episode?
- 4:53[SPEAKER_01]: I could post all those things where she was in the studio and everything was wonderful, right?
- 4:58[SPEAKER_01]: I could post where she asked to be on the show.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_01]: I could post the part where I said,
- 5:04[SPEAKER_01]: Have you seen an episode of selection process?
- 5:06[SPEAKER_01]: Are you sure you're aware of what type of show this is and what type of response it gets?
- 5:11[SPEAKER_01]: I could post all those things.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_01]: But I won't.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't even the fact that she blocked me.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's a step in between because now when you block me, you block me and that eludes to I did something wrong.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_01]: When all that happened was I literally posted a clip of the episode of the words that you actually said.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_01]: You actually said these words.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_01]: And if she didn't
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: like the response from the audience and had a second thought, like you know what, I thought I could handle this, but this doesn't feel good.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: She could simply have DMed me and said, I hate the response that I'm getting from this.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_01]: Please delete this clip.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_01]: And I would have deleted the clip with no problem.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I don't want, I get attacked all the time on the internet.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_01]: I've been attacked often.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_01]: I've never gone to that podcast or to that platform
- 6:17[SPEAKER_01]: If I said what I said, I said what I said, and sometimes I get these clips from guest appearances, and I cringe.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like Jesus Christ.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_01]: Why would I say that Jesus Christ?
- 6:28[SPEAKER_01]: Why did I have to go so hard?
- 6:29[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my God.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_01]: Why did I even entertain the conversation?
- 6:32[SPEAKER_01]: Like it's happened to me.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_01]: So I know how it feels, but I if it weren't a modified clip.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: and it was a straight talk of me.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_01]: I've never asked anybody to remove it because I understand the backlash that can come from me sharing my thoughts.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_01]: Not everybody thinks the way that I think they don't live my life.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_01]: They don't have my perspective.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_01]: They don't have my experiences.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_01]: So I've never asked anybody to remove a clip.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_01]: I have.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_01]: declined collaborating on plenty of them.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_01]: You can post your clip on your platform, but I don't want it on my platform.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_01]: I've also never blocked the person who's platform I was on.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_01]: They asked me a set of questions, and I sat through that interview, and I answered those questions, I could have left, I could have stopped, I could have walked out.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_01]: I could have said next question, I could have done a number of things, but I answered the questions.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_01]: So there was no reason to block them.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_01]: I said what I said, the internet didn't like it, but the platforms not responsible for what I think.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_01]: And so I don't.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't like it.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like it.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_01]: She was a sweet young lady, right?
- 7:34[SPEAKER_01]: She was a sweet girl.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_01]: We never really had any interaction.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe some DM exchange, you know, or something at the time, sweet girl.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: She had some polarizing thoughts that obviously the the internet thought were polarizing during the conversation.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_01]: I'm reacting to it like, what?
- 7:48[SPEAKER_01]: Really?
- 7:48[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think I've ever heard anybody say something like that.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_01]: Like on the episode, it's like, oh my god,
- 7:55[SPEAKER_01]: I get it, but I don't think I've ever heard anybody say something like that to me.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, yeah, yeah, very strong in her opinion.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_01]: I just think there was a step between the clip being posted and blocking me.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_01]: You could have asked me to delete it.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_01]: We could have had a conversation about it.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: And I would have done so.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_01]: You could have said, hey, can you pull something else with just in the clip to me first?
- 8:17[SPEAKER_01]: That's not like our business model.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_01]: That's not what we get into.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_01]: But because it happens so rarely, I would have honored that for her.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_01]: And if she had asked me to remove it and I'm like, oh no, we don't remove anything.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely not.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not taking my clip down.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_01]: This is my show.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_01]: Then you block me.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, for sure.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_01]: Then you can block.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_01]: Then then it seems appropriate to block me.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_01]: But...
- 8:39[SPEAKER_01]: You just went straight to a block after you after you told me how great you thought I was.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_01]: Like you think I'm so great and then I post your words and now you block me.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_00]: But we've been practicing for so long.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: We got so many scenarios.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_00]: We had one clip.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: It's still going.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: It's just going where the guy was on a show.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_00]: And he said what he said.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: But when he started like coming to Adam, he blamed him on the edit.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, bro, I'll take out things that are redundant, or I'll take out things that don't add to this particular,
- 9:20[SPEAKER_00]: like near because we want to get like 90 seconds to be able to like say what you said, but like you you said to an Azure thought process that he's like it asked me to take a down, but he's like, you know, he run the clips by me before no, no, not ready to clips by you before I post this is a show that you decided to come on and say what you said and not at the world doesn't like what you said.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_00]: And now it's not what he never really like came in me like it was my phone.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_00]: He was cool actually, but I've had some scenario, but I've had some this one girl was on the high sea, and I posted a clip of what she said, and I knew something was wrong because she was like, yeah, could you send me like the unedited
- 10:08[SPEAKER_00]: video, I'm like, yeah, it's on YouTube.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_00]: Like, we don't cut it up on YouTube.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_00]: We take the whole thing, put it on YouTube.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_00]: You just watch the whole thing.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: There's no edits in there.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: This young lady sent me, she sent me probably, it might have been like a 40 page folder, 20 page, something like that.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: It was a lot of her suing me.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_00]: $250,000.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, why?
- 10:36[SPEAKER_00]: The defamation.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: Holy problem is, there was no attorney's name on there.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: It was just like her.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_00]: Like if you were talking about it, send me an email or something like that, and like an email might have been Gmail.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_00]: I don't remember.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_00]: But I was looking at it, I said, oh, my gosh.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_00]: Because it is the clip that's going crazy.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_00]: Based on what you said, now, our job as concert creators,
- 11:01[SPEAKER_00]: are to post content that will be engaging, okay?
- 11:06[SPEAKER_00]: Not to make you look bad, but your thought, and before I post anything, I'm like, well there are some people that will agree and there are some people that will disagree.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_00]: That's what engagement is.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_00]: So when we post it, it's not, let me make this person look horrible.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: You filmed me, something my man had did, you know, something my God.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: Who did the 21 heart, he said I said her, a heart every single day for 21 days, when he was talking about after infidelity, and that was his version of being a better man or whatever.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I know that clip doesn't make him look the best.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_00]: But I thought it was more funny than anything.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_00]: I don't like drugs, what do you want hard?
- 11:50[SPEAKER_00]: So it starts to go crazy.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_00]: But he doesn't take it any negative ways.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yes, that's what I did.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_00]: And he, he built up like it's following almost based on that because this is what I'm doing as you know moving forward and this is how I'm being a better husband.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, yeah, that's my guy.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_00]: So some people take it and say, okay, that's what I said.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: Let me just, let me use this moment of popularity.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's figure out how to bring people on to my side.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm trying and I make mistakes.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_00]: That's why.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_00]: For me personally, I talk negative about myself all the time.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_00]: The things I don't know the areas I'm not aware of people like yo give me some marriage advice, but I don't know what I'm doing.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_00]: Okay?
- 12:28[SPEAKER_00]: Winging it for sure.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_00]: I tell this story.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I propose to my wife in a real I got just asked her like, you know what you're very After leaving our friends house, and it was a bunch of people at the college like, oh my gosh, I can't believe you'll care.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_00]: Well
- 12:44[SPEAKER_00]: three kids at years later we're doing okay.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_00]: That's your opinion.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, right?
- 12:48[SPEAKER_00]: So I Yeah, listen the question is do y'all really want to go viral.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_01]: Do you really want to go viral and here's the thing?
- 12:57[SPEAKER_01]: Here's the thing
- 13:01[SPEAKER_01]: when it happened the first time.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_01]: So first of all, I remember doing selection process in the beginning, and I came to you, and I'm like, yo, Dave, you got a chill.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_01]: You got a chill.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, sure.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, sure.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_01]: Right, because the viral moments were like, you started, you recorded it in episode first, and I'm like, yo, you got a chill.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I wanna feel good about the show.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_01]: I literally came to you and said that.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_01]: And so I'm like, okay, let's get on the same page,
- 13:31[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to be a match-making show necessarily, but I want people to be able to watch the show and say, ooh, I want her, or ooh, I want him.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_01]: Let me go to them and DM them.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_01]: I also want people to come on the show and be able to learn or unlearn, right?
- 13:46[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I said.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_01]: And so then I'm like, and watch, I'll do it.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_01]: I'll find all the positive perspective guests, watch me go, I'll do it.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_01]: And so what ends up happening you guys,
- 14:01[SPEAKER_01]: Um, the guests come to our DMs, usually, and, um, 90, 95% of the time.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_01]: The people that I've interviewed, they've approached me and said, I want to be on the show.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_01]: Great.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_01]: Many of these people, I don't know.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_01]: I have two qualifying questions.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_01]: Are you an entrepreneur and are you single?
- 14:24[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_01]: I follow up with, this is a show for successful entrepreneurs who are single.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_01]: Are you an entrepreneur and are you single?
- 14:34[SPEAKER_01]: That was my only qualifying questions, okay?
- 14:37[SPEAKER_01]: Because everything else, I discover on the show.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_01]: They say, yes, they come and do their episode.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_01]: And the first time somebody went viral for like really negative thoughts, I said, oh God, dear, my God, this isn't what I wanted.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_01]: I'm calling her like, are you okay?
- 14:55[SPEAKER_01]: She's like, girl, I said, what the fuck is that?
- 14:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I'm okay, I'm like, okay, okay, because that's how I would feel, but are you okay?
- 15:04[SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, yes, so then I interview I'm like, oh my God, they're gonna just eat women up.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_01]: So I interview a guy.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_01]: the same thing happens, right?
- 15:12[SPEAKER_01]: And this particular guy, like asked me on a date.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, oh my god, he probably hates me now.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't accept the date, but he asked me on a date.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_01]: And he's like, I'm like, oh, he probably hates me now.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_01]: He usually engages with my post.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_01]: So he goes viral and it's like a ton of negative feedback.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_01]: And I hit him like,
- 15:33[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, how do you feel about the episode?
- 15:34[SPEAKER_01]: He accepted every clip.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, when we're going on that date?
- 15:38[SPEAKER_01]: I said what I said, like, when we're going on that date.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_01]: And so I'm like, OK, well, people embrace the fact that they said what they said, right?
- 15:48[SPEAKER_01]: I then put a post on Instagram, though.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_01]: And said, I am interested in interviewing single entrepreneurs with a healthy mindset.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_01]: DM me if you're interested.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_01]: I got some DMs, responses to that message.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_01]: I interview that batch of guests, and it turns out that everybody's version and perspective of what healthy mindsets are different.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's true.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_01]: They're different, right?
- 16:18[SPEAKER_01]: They're different.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know the inner workings of people's philosophies and perspectives on dating until I interview.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_01]: That's why I am the interviewer.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_01]: I have no idea, and you guys,
- 16:32[SPEAKER_01]: We're not looking for the guests that are going to have these negative perspectives.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_01]: You understand that you can go viral for a very positive, healthy mindset too.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not saying that every guest has had a negative, unhealthy mindset.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just saying that when we're looking for our guest, we're not looking for who's the most, who's the most negative person we can bring up.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_01]: Who's the person who has the most wild and bizarre thoughts about dating?
- 16:58[SPEAKER_01]: positivity can go viral just as much as negativity.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_01]: I go viral more for positivity than I have for negativity.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's just that the negativity goes mega viral, right?
- 17:10[SPEAKER_01]: So I say that to saying, I don't know who thinks what about dating until they're in my chair and we're interviewing.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_01]: I also don't want to know what they think because it ruins the transparency and the authenticity of the interview.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_01]: All I want to know is that you're single and you're an entrepreneur.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_00]: That's it.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_00]: So, now the format and y'all really need to join our Patreon because they'll get our conversations about this together.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_00]: Join our Patreon.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_00]: It is below in the link description.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_00]: I, so Donnie interviews the, uh, the singles, and I interviewed the marriage now, right?
- 17:52[SPEAKER_00]: Cause I'm coming from a married perspective, Donnie's coming from a single perspective.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_00]: So the one is actually dropping the day is my man Josh, this is my brother.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_00]: I love Josh.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_00]: And, uh, we're having a conversation
- 18:10[SPEAKER_00]: and he starts telling me about some some challenges in the marriage, and I'm like, oh, wait, she had a conversation on selection process.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_00]: You know, let's do it.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, about like, it's seemingly not working out your marriage.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, yeah, I mean, you said you got to have both.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_00]: You have the people who need to hear the truth.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_00]: And I said, sure, he's like, yeah, let's do it.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_00]: Was that a conversation?
- 18:35[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, all right, cool.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_00]: Even a day of my argument, my conversation, I know a marriage is kind of like on the rocks right now.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_00]: You sure you want to talk about this?
- 18:45[SPEAKER_00]: He said, yeah, man, he said, I am authentic.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_00]: I've nothing to hide.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_00]: So we do the interview.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_00]: For me, I can't not ask questions that I'm curious about, and I can't not ask questions that I know people have a question to.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_00]: So I asked certain questions and he answers them.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_00]: And that I am me, I almost like, I'm not thinking about the camera.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_00]: I'm thinking about the person in front of me, and the conversation that we'd have with without the camera.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm saying, this is what I think about the situation or whatever, great conversation we ended.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_00]: And I started thinking about this thing.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, this is my brother.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_00]: I'll raise back out like hell, you sure?
- 19:25[SPEAKER_01]: You sure?
- 19:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and he has a video editor.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_00]: So I was like, hey, here's the episode.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_00]: You do the clips and if you want to post a clip, I set the clap or you do the clips and I'll post a clips that you like, because it's such a sensitive topic.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_00]: You feel me.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_00]: So it hasn't come out yet, but this is, and I very rarely feel like this like, man, this could go, this could not go well.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_00]: But I didn't want to waste his time and give him the option to say, you know, you won't put this out.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, absolutely, let's do it.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_00]: So we will see.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_01]: I did, yeah, I mean, that happens.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_01]: I ask, especially if I'm not blown away by a lot of things.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_01]: But if in a conversation, I'm blown away by some things.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_01]: I have been blown away and after the conversation, I will ask.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_01]: Are you sure?
- 20:28[SPEAKER_01]: But also, until recently, because now we just launched our Patreon, so our guests, our members in Patreon will get first access to all the things, right?
- 20:39[SPEAKER_01]: but prior to us launching our Patreon, also I want you guys to keep in mind that we're live on Instagram.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_01]: We were live on every single episode that I've recorded has been live in real time on Instagram, the guest know it, and here's what's always so interesting to me is that the responses, maybe I think because we're live on Instagram and that's like my core audience, the guest feel like,
- 21:04[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it wasn't, you know, I didn't say anything too off the wall, right?
- 21:08[SPEAKER_01]: Because my Instagram audience, they don't respond the way you guys be responded on YouTube.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_01]: My Instagram audience has a whole lot more compassion and care and like interest.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_01]: They want to
- 21:25[SPEAKER_01]: on well my Instagram live audience my Instagram live audience there they're with me in the interview they're with us in the interview they're like oh ask this or what about that or how did she get to this place how did he get to that place you youtubers y'all are your different odd y'all are a different audience and then somehow
- 21:44[SPEAKER_01]: When the clip starts getting traction again on Instagram, then that audience is a different audience as well.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, for sure.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_00]: The question I'm asking the audience is watching this is, are you prepared to go viral?
- 21:58[SPEAKER_00]: Because viral means someone's going to say something negative.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if I've seen many viral clips
- 22:15[SPEAKER_00]: If everyone agrees, there's no point to comment on it.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_00]: Right?
- 22:21[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, what makes something like really spread is this topic has conversation.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_00]: And for those that are concert creators or podcasts, our job is to create content that people will engage with.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_00]: Our goal is to put out clips that won't get conversation or won't get viewership and the person that's all and they want the viewership.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_00]: So we have to put out the content that will get the engagement that will get the viewership, but depending on the type of viewership, that's when they're upset when I was when I got that document that the young lady created on word with the help of
- 23:08[SPEAKER_01]: So the truth of the matter is, we're here to shoot an ad, and we can talk all about how we've made multiple seven figures.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_01]: We can talk all about how we've helped other people make multiple seven figures.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_01]: We can talk about how we can give thousands of people in a room to talk about entrepreneurship.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_01]: We can talk about how we create viral moments all the time.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_01]: We could do all those things if we were sitting here to create an ad in the regular format.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_01]: But the truth of the matter is, we just wanted to invite you into our circle.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_00]: while when you want to be in a circle of people with proven success and other people that are in this circle that can really help elevate your game.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_00]: It's not always about the coaches, it's about the community, but we have them both.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_01]: Next level.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_01]: So here's the thing.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_01]: We have an opportunity that we're extending to you right now.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_01]: We're inviting you into our circle because I know you're tired of complaining and that you don't have anybody to talk to.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_01]: I know you were tired of complaining about being the smartest person in your room.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_01]: And I know you're really sick of not having anybody the bounce ideas off of, we can fix that.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_00]: Fix it.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_00]: we can fix it.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_00]: You can't fix it on your own, stop coaching.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_00]: You need a coach that can coach you to see how you're playing on the field.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_00]: So we're going to invite you to stop the laying, stop procrastinating and be a part of a community that cares about you and can get you to that next level.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_00]: Okay?
- 24:24[SPEAKER_00]: You delay long enough and make a comment below if you are a procrastinator historically.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_00]: But today you're about to take action, click the link right now
- 24:41[SPEAKER_01]: But you lose it every single time because once the conversation is verified that you said what you said, it's only defamation if it's a lie.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_00]: It's all attention.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_00]: It's all attention.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_01]: It's all attention.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_01]: It's all attention.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_01]: No, I don't feel like.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_00]: What's the phrase?
- 24:58[SPEAKER_00]: It's all exposure.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_01]: All publicity.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_01]: All publicity isn't good publicity.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_00]: Something like that.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_01]: That's the phrase.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, it's not, but what are you going to hide?
- 25:12[SPEAKER_01]: Like if you ask me a question, I have a choice to answer the question, not answer the question.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_01]: If I choose to not answer the question, it kills it.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_01]: Done.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_01]: If I choose to answer the question, I have another choice.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_01]: to either answer the question honestly, or answer the question dishonestly.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_01]: Regardless of which answer I choose, now the outcome could be that everybody's gonna judge whatever I said, no matter how transparent, no matter how protected, no matter how guarded, I understand why celebrities,
- 25:53[SPEAKER_01]: or people don't take interviews.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_01]: I've got friends that I said, come do the show, absolutely not.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_01]: No, and it's not because they're scared of going viral, it's because they don't want to talk about certain parts of their lives, right?
- 26:07[SPEAKER_01]: They just don't want to talk about certain parts of their lives.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_01]: And that is that.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_01]: Now, it brings me to now as the, yes, we are content creators.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_01]: We are podcasters, we're host, we're interviewers, we are conversationalist, and just like you on the show,
- 26:25[SPEAKER_01]: It's a conversation is if the cameras aren't even there.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_01]: Like when you say something, I'm like, wait, what?
- 26:30[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
- 26:49[SPEAKER_01]: don't get it at all.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_01]: I don't understand.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_01]: Women are going for that.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_01]: Like you're getting my natural responses to these things, but I will be honest, I don't have the comments make me feel like this is so low level.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_01]: being honest.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_01]: So if I'm having a conversation with you about your dating life like I have with guests, I don't always agree with their take on dating.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_01]: Some of it, I'm like, oh, that's really a trash mindset.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_01]: And some of it, I'm like, oh, well, if it works for you, some of it is like, oh, wow, I agree with that.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't always agree.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes I'm like, I see why you're single
- 27:40[SPEAKER_01]: and we're adults, and we're able to, I'm sincerely interested in curious in learning how people think.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's made me successful in business as well.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_01]: Understanding how people think, understanding how they respond to things, understanding how they process things.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_01]: And that part of the conversation doesn't feel low level.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_01]: Even though you don't agree with what they said, we're still having a high-level conversation about their perspectives, right?
- 28:04[SPEAKER_01]: But when the comments start to happen,
- 28:08[SPEAKER_01]: and all y'all could think to say our things like, anybody gonna want that be?
- 28:13[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, she a ho, or if somebody else smashed blah, blah, blah, blah, and I understand that that's how you think as well.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_01]: But when my comment section is overfilled with those kinds of comments,
- 28:29[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even like to look at, but I don't even look at the comments anymore.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I post it and then I move on.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_01]: Because I don't want to sit and read that all day.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to sit and read a, you know, like, where is the, where is the debate?
- 28:43[SPEAKER_01]: Where's the, well, have you considered this topic or have you considered this perspective?
- 28:47[SPEAKER_01]: Or I hear what you're saying?
- 28:48[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like it.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_01]: Just think about it from this angle.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_01]: Where is the intelligent pushback?
- 28:54[SPEAKER_01]: Why does everything have to feel so ignorant?
- 28:58[SPEAKER_01]: That's how I be fiddling, and I wake up or I grab my phone and I look and I be like, I don't know, people say, did you see that comment?
- 29:08[SPEAKER_01]: No, I checked out of the comments a long time ago.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_01]: Like my job is to have this show, to have these conversations, to share clips, bring awareness to the show, and to the conversation show you how other people are thinking.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_01]: But do we have any better perspective than to just go straight for like blatantly cursing women out?
- 29:28[SPEAKER_01]: Do you have to like degrade them?
- 29:30[SPEAKER_01]: So badly to like, like, I'm not talking about you disagreeing.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'm talking about like, do you have to be that guy or that girl that just like drag somebody for the filth and you're using such vile language and it's so much of that.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_01]: That's the part that I'm like,
- 29:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and a problem as you can't fight it man, like people are people and that it just is what it is and I think from the perspective of a person that's being attacked It's like the post that I'm looking at right now.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_01]: It's only 14,000 views and I think because the post has been reported
- 30:09[SPEAKER_00]: for short, but what I'm saying is in 14,000 views, a lot of people are engaging, but the grand scheme of things, it's such a small pool of people who saw it and have something to say, which they'll be on something by tonight.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_00]: Like something else, it's not like people hate you.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not like people are gonna see on a grocery store and say, oh, you're the girl.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_01]: Now, once it starts to pick up trash, I've been spotted in the store.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_00]: Once it starts to pick up trash, how do you like it?
- 30:39[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we've got millions of views.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, for sure.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_00]: So now, my man that was on the joint where he was talking about, the woman was pretty much too locked in with God to date him.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_00]: That is his perspective.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_00]: That's like a millions of views.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_00]: I get it.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_00]: I get that.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_00]: But it, like, people,
- 30:59[SPEAKER_00]: Because it's happening to us, and we've never got this type of engagement, we think it's our whole world, and our career is over, and nobody really cares.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_00]: I was talking to, I was talking about God another day, and he was talking about, like, J. Morrison's situation.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_00]: And it's like, you know, was he doing right now?
- 31:17[SPEAKER_00]: I said, I don't know.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, and the person said, yeah, man, I don't know what he'd do to make money because, you know, everybody's, everybody's attacking him.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, bro.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_00]: If he goes to Michigan
- 31:32[SPEAKER_00]: No one knows Chicago Atlanta because our world we're here like everyone knows the situation Nobody knows and nobody can I guarantee let me go make money with that What do all what every what to do?
- 31:45[SPEAKER_01]: I guarantee if Jay Hosted one of his corner classes Nick look people are showing that there's people that love him.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_01]: There's people that love everybody and you know like
- 32:00[SPEAKER_01]: I remember in one season, I was going viral so much for these relationship conversations that I had to remind people, like, I'm a business coach too.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_01]: My business coach too.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_01]: And I could say something in business that is my perspective.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_01]: And I can go viral for that and then because somebody doesn't understand the way I recommend it that you run ads or bring visibility to your business, we'll go viral for things all the time.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_01]: as a potential guest on a podcast is to decide how you want to position yourself publicly.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_00]: For sure, right?
- 32:40[SPEAKER_00]: For sure.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_01]: I have been invited to some shows where I've been invited to some shows where the objective of the host is to tear the audience member down or the guest member down.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's the whole point of the show, right?
- 32:59[SPEAKER_01]: Is to tear them down.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_01]: I have been a guest on somebody else's show with a host of a show like that, whose their objective is to tear the other person down.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I've learned, I don't want to be a guest on shows like that, right?
- 33:19[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to be a guest on shows where the host's objective is to come at you.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_01]: There are shows like that, where their objective is.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_01]: Well, no, that was a little different.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_00]: Well, the previous hot dog, that was the, that was the story.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_01]: I don't mean to like, I mean, there are shows, like there's this guy that I can think of.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_01]: He and I went mega viral, hundreds of millions of views, right?
- 33:41[SPEAKER_01]: We were both guessed on another show.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_01]: And I didn't know it at the time, but I later found out that he has his own show where he invites women to the show.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_01]: And their objective is to disrespect these women, is to make them feel less than, that's their objective.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_01]: Their objective is to find the gacha, like the UNSHT of these women, I would never go on a show like that.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_00]: Give me a start.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, the eyes there.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_01]: I would never, you couldn't call me and get me on a show like that, right?
- 34:20[SPEAKER_01]: But I, but I will accept shows that are controversial.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_01]: I'll go on to a show like selection process.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_01]: And I understand that I am in control, like the host of selection process, me and A.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_01]: Our objective is to learn about how you think is not to disrespect you, like that's not our objective.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_01]: So I will go on a show like that, understanding that I am fully in control of the narrative, because
- 34:54[SPEAKER_01]: The host can only ask questions based on the words that are coming out of my mouth.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_01]: Who are sure?
- 34:59[SPEAKER_01]: And so if I am concerned about how I'm portrayed or how people will receive it and how they will respond to it, then the whole time, I controlled the narrative.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_01]: People, we were just, I was just having a conversation with the business owner.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_01]: I was at dinner in casual conversation with the business owner, and he says,
- 35:20[SPEAKER_01]: actually I was at a dinner with a group of guys and when I walked in it was surprising because one of the gentlemen there I went to middle school with six to eighth grade and I walk in and I'm like oh my god!
- 35:33[SPEAKER_01]: Bimme!
- 35:33[SPEAKER_01]: Look at you!
- 35:35[SPEAKER_01]: And so he's like wow you're doing your thing blah blah blah we're talking and he's like how does it feel though like tell me the reality of how it feels to have to always be so transparent.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_01]: And I said, well, it's easy for me because I am only as transparent as I choose to be.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_01]: I am deeply transparent about the things that I choose to be deeply transparent about.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_01]: And though the world thinks they know every detail of my life, that's just simply not the truth.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_01]: You do not know every single thing about me, there are some things and some people and some experiences that I hold deeply personal, deeply personal to my chest.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_01]: And I'll never talk about it on the podcast because those are mine.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_01]: But the moments that I feel that are important to my story, the things that I shared in the beginning that made me, the business woman and the help me to have the impact that I have.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_01]: Those are truthful and transparent accounts about what's important for the public to know.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's not important that the public know every detail about me.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_01]: So it's really easy for me to be transparent.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_01]: Because I'm super transparent about what I'm transparent about.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, for sure.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, as y'all said, but you know how I like who handles criticism really well, Kevin Sage.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_00]: I love how he handles it.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_00]: When he gets attacked, he just makes fun of it.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't run, he doesn't, he doesn't like backtrack his words.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_00]: I love Kimmel's days, bro.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_00]: I think there was, every, only because he's popular, people try to find something to attack about him, even though he's just a good, wholesome person, right?
- 37:21[SPEAKER_00]: He's not out here cheating on his wife or like me and his wife or like doing nothing crazy, but like people have to find some sort of end.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_00]: But he takes it really well.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_00]: And he's like, yo, this is why I am.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_00]: And the audacity of the people who are judging something that they see as if they are perfect.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I don't like.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_00]: People are really like, they'll throw stones at people as if they are perfect.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_00]: And I will admit, like the hot seat was part, part education entertainment.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_00]: And I will tell people all the time.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_00]: I live at the end of an episode.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_00]: I never, ever had someone come and say, oh my gosh, that was terrible.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_00]: I can't believe you asked me these questions.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_00]: Never, not one.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_01]: Never.
- 38:13[SPEAKER_00]: Every single episode is like, yo, thank you.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_00]: Help me realize some things, right?
- 38:18[SPEAKER_00]: But dim clips.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_01]: That was clear.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_00]: But I would let them know.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, these clips, you know,
- 38:25[SPEAKER_00]: I tell him before the clips come out and then every like you said like when he come on a show I was like hey have you seen a hot seat before yes you don't expect yes yes okay but then you're mad at me when what happens to every single episode happened but I didn't like that and that's why I took like a almost like a year hiatus from that seat because I didn't like the response like people were really thinking I was a jerk
- 38:52[SPEAKER_00]: And that just lets me know that in this episode, but I'm finding the clip that I know is gonna go.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_00]: That's engaging.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_00]: However, oh, I gotta round this point out.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_00]: Like I'm doing like four, I see's today.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_00]: And I realize that people do want the information and I don't have to, I don't have to find the angle that is going to go viral.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_00]: Even though traditionally that's why I was looking for,
- 39:22[SPEAKER_00]: these will be forward.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_00]: I'm trying to find the angle that other people are dealing with, and I'm going to highlight that.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_00]: So I've changed my approach that I see.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_00]: We just dropped one and it was just super wholesome.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_00]: But you know the problem is though, what that would?
- 39:39[SPEAKER_00]: The problem is I could find any clips.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_00]: episode was fire and she starts like tear it up at the end and it's like it's such a good episode but I could not find any clips that would actually be engaging so you know what I'm I'm really excited that we decided to do Patreon.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_01]: I was never opposed to doing Patreon.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_01]: My question was like, oh my God, how are we going to do another project, right?
- 40:12[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm so excited that we decided to launch the Patreon because we now share the behind-the-scenes clips and part of the behind-the-scenes clips in my version of what I've been doing is, I will ask the guest.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_01]: So now the Patreon members get to see the behind-the-scenes clips.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: they get to see like, you know, when the guests come in before we get started, they also get to see what happens right after the episode, right?
- 40:40[SPEAKER_01]: Like, those parts that I said earlier, like, I have this from this episode from this girl.
- 40:43[SPEAKER_01]: I have this, this we weren't showing that before, but now we're showing this stuff.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_01]: And one of the, um, the questions that I asked the guest is, why?
- 40:53[SPEAKER_01]: So, how'd you feel about the interview?
- 40:56[SPEAKER_00]: How'd you feel?
- 40:57[SPEAKER_01]: How'd you feel?
- 40:58[SPEAKER_01]: Then I asked, was there anything that I asked you that you weren't expecting me to ask you like it caught you off guard?
- 41:11[SPEAKER_01]: Then my third question is, did you say anything that you wish you would have said differently?
- 41:17[SPEAKER_01]: patreon is gonna get that stuff right like now we got all kinds of checks and balances did you say anything that you wish it was Because you know or or did you not say something that you wish you would have said because you know I don't think I've ever done an interview where I felt like I left everything on the table
- 41:33[SPEAKER_01]: Every single time I do an interview the moment is over.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, dang, I wish I would have said, Oh, if I would hit him with this.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, why didn't I give him that?
- 41:41[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I got some really saucy one liners, right?
- 41:44[SPEAKER_01]: But you can't remember them all.
- 41:47[SPEAKER_01]: You can't, you just can't remember them all.
- 41:48[SPEAKER_01]: And you can't do an interview full of one liners.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_01]: But after a conversation, sometimes I'll be on my way home like,
- 41:55[SPEAKER_01]: Why didn't I say that?
- 41:56[SPEAKER_01]: You know how you practice the things that you want to say?
- 41:58[SPEAKER_01]: Like, oh, let me, let me make sure this is top of mine.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_01]: This will be really good for that audience.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_01]: And then you get there and you forget it all.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_01]: And so I love after it.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_01]: Would you think about the interview?
- 42:08[SPEAKER_01]: How was it for you?
- 42:09[SPEAKER_01]: And we normally do that part on camera.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_01]: Like, was this good for you?
- 42:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, all the things.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_01]: But now,
- 42:14[SPEAKER_01]: Did I ask you anything that caught you off guard like that you weren't expecting?
- 42:18[SPEAKER_01]: And was there anything you wish you had said differently or something that you didn't say that you wish you would have said?
- 42:24[SPEAKER_01]: Because our Patreon members are going to get access to the part that you wish you would have said.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_01]: And I've done that now since we started the Patreon.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_01]: I've done that for three of the episodes and it's never a hate at this interview.
- 42:36[SPEAKER_01]: It's always, I've never been told I didn't like the interview.
- 42:45[SPEAKER_01]: Let's shoot again, not because he didn't like what he said, but because he felt like he didn't give enough of a range of what he actually thought about a particular topic.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_01]: And he's like, you know what?
- 43:01[SPEAKER_01]: I could do a better episode.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_01]: I want to go deeper on that conversation.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_01]: He felt like we stayed on a particular point too long.
- 43:09[SPEAKER_01]: And I actually want to say more about what that was, right?
- 43:13[SPEAKER_01]: And so I'm like, OK, so we shot it again.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_01]: Like the next week, we released it.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_01]: The episode did well.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_01]: But I called him and I said, hey, we've released this Patreon.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_01]: I know that this isn't the episode that we released on YouTube, because you wanted to elaborate on your thoughts.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_01]: But do you mind if we put this episode in our Patreon?
- 43:32[SPEAKER_01]: And he was like, no, it's what I said.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_01]: I just didn't think it was good enough for YouTube.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't think I went deep enough.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, I said what I said.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_01]: So put the episode on Patreon.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_01]: I said, okay, I got one step further.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_01]: What if we create clips for Instagram to promote the Patreon?
- 43:48[SPEAKER_01]: He said, it's what I said.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_01]: I don't mind.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_01]: I just wanted to go deeper on what I thought about a particular topic.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get it.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 43:59[SPEAKER_01]: And so again, shout out, you know who you are.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to call you out.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully you see this episode.
- 44:05[SPEAKER_01]: I don't, I don't have anything to apologize for.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_01]: We aired the episode exactly as you communicated it, but I do feel empathy.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_01]: for how you must feel about how the audience responded to it.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_01]: I definitely feel empathy for that.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_01]: I just wish you would have reached out and said, girl, they eaten me up.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_01]: Can we take this down or the next clip?
- 44:31[SPEAKER_01]: Can you just show me?
- 44:32[SPEAKER_01]: If anybody else has come in and show after, I don't want you to think that that is the business model because it's not the business model.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_01]: But we also don't take your words out of context and you just don't have to block me because of it.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_01]: So here's the thing, I thought about sending her a message.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_01]: I thought about texting her because she also has my phone number.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_01]: She has direct access to me.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_01]: I thought about that.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_01]: But when someone is obviously in their feelings about something and she didn't say that she's in her feelings, she
- 45:07[SPEAKER_01]: that in her feelings.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_01]: When someone's in their feelings, now you have a person who everybody, everybody, there's a difference between having a natural organic moment or a natural, a natural viral moment and creating a viral moment, right?
- 45:28[SPEAKER_01]: And so I thought about sending her a message, but then I don't want to be like,
- 45:32[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, look, and now she's right.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_01]: Block, I block the B and now she's reaching out.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_01]: I'm reaching out because I actually care how you feel right.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_01]: I care how you feel, but we aired that episode over a month ago, you've had plenty.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we recorded that episode over a month ago at this point.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_01]: And so if if you felt away about what you said, you've had ample opportunity to say, I didn't feel good about it.
- 45:56[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_01]: I'll cover your production costs.
- 45:58[SPEAKER_01]: Don't don't drop the episode.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 46:02[SPEAKER_00]: Cool.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to write down, but I'm telling you to call her because that's something I wouldn't do because I don't like conflict like that, but you see you're like a person at least and you're okay with it.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_00]: Like, hey, what's up?
- 46:13[SPEAKER_00]: Let's just get some clarity and confidence.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's no conflict about it.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_01]: That's the thing.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_01]: Like, what are her and nobody can call her and there might be conflict.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't know this woman.
- 46:24[SPEAKER_01]: We were familiar, you know, on Instagram.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know her like that, but she seemed like a, you know, a nice girl.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_01]: I complimented in the clip.
- 46:32[SPEAKER_01]: I'm telling her she's beautiful and, you know, all the things we left on great terms.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_01]: She was, and she asked me for, I think it was her that asked me for like, where should I go eat after this?
- 46:42[SPEAKER_01]: I, I think that was her.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_01]: She thanked me for the episode.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_01]: I went back and looked at it.
- 46:48[SPEAKER_01]: Like, she, we're on the same page, right?
- 46:51[SPEAKER_01]: And she, if the audience,
- 46:55[SPEAKER_01]: If the audience, if the viewers, had not attacked her, she wouldn't have blocked me.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_01]: She accepted the collaboration, which means that when she laid her eyes on it, she was fine with what she said.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_01]: The only reason she did that is because she didn't like the feedback that she was getting from the viewers.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we're going to look at the full episodes, see if there's anything going on.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's a lot going on in that episode.
- 47:20[SPEAKER_01]: Really?
- 47:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, she said,
- 47:25[SPEAKER_00]: and the audience caught that in their life.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_01]: In every episode, usually the guests have some, they feel strongly about what they feel strongly about.
- 47:33[SPEAKER_00]: 133 comments.
- 47:35[SPEAKER_01]: In every episode, they feel strongly, and those are all viewer comments.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_01]: That's not, I haven't even responded to more than maybe three or four of them.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_01]: So those are all viewer comments, but they're mostly commenting on a different angle.
- 47:53[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't even post the clip that I thought would go viral.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't, I held out on that list, tiptoeing with this one first.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_01]: Like, girl, everything you said on the episode was something that somebody could feel away about, but it was a great conversation overall.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm still open to it.
- 48:10[SPEAKER_01]: If you see this episode, reach out to me, just reach out to me.
- 48:15[SPEAKER_01]: Let's talk about it.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, what the episode is what you said, but I don't want there to be any beef,
- 48:21[SPEAKER_01]: between you and I because you said what you said and I posted it, you came to a show.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I wanted it as YouTube.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_00]: That's okay.
- 48:29[SPEAKER_00]: Leave all of us people remain.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_01]: They're so, and that's the thing, like, it's one thing to be critical, but to the audience, like, why y'all gotta be so mean.
- 48:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_01]: So me, like, we all have our own story.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a single mom too.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a single mom too, and you know what, Dave?
- 48:51[SPEAKER_01]: People still say she's undatable because she's a single mom.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_01]: My daughter is 24.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, all that.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_01]: She's a whole grown woman.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_01]: her father is in her life.
- 49:01[SPEAKER_01]: She has a daddy.
- 49:03[SPEAKER_01]: Like, we have a great relationship.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_01]: You've never heard baby mama drama for me.
- 49:08[SPEAKER_01]: You've never heard me say that people in and I still get attacked for being a single mom who doesn't have any value.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_01]: I get attacked for thinking I don't need a man for thinking that I can live my life by myself and I have never said those words.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_01]: I go viral for people saying, oh, she thinks she don't need a man.
- 49:29[SPEAKER_01]: She's single.
- 49:29[SPEAKER_01]: She's successful.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_01]: She all about her money.
- 49:32[SPEAKER_01]: Never hurt me.
- 49:33[SPEAKER_01]: Say that.
- 49:33[SPEAKER_01]: Ever.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_01]: Because I've never thought that.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_01]: I've never.
- 49:36[SPEAKER_01]: I've always needed a man.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_01]: No matter how much money I make, I always need a man.
- 49:42[SPEAKER_01]: No matter how successful I am, there are other areas that my success don't nurture.
- 49:48[SPEAKER_01]: You've never hurt me say that, but I go viral for things that I've said and I've gone viral from what people think of me that I've never actually said.
- 49:58[SPEAKER_01]: And so this is the nature of the game.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_01]: Some of us knows what this comes with and some of you think you know what it comes with but we're learning now that you think you know what it comes with until you're the one in the hot seat.

- 50:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, join our Patreon, but if you want to understand the business side of it, the socialproof circle.com.

- 51:08[SPEAKER_01]: We have you guys covered in your businesses.
- 51:11[SPEAKER_01]: We have you guys covered in your personal lives.
- 51:14[SPEAKER_01]: We are still on our 75 heart challenge.
- 51:18[SPEAKER_01]: And we're taking our audience through that.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_01]: Like we have you covered on the health and wellness side.
- 51:22[SPEAKER_01]: We're just bringing you what really happens in life.
- 51:26[SPEAKER_01]: And some of it, some of it, isn't appealing.
- 51:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, for sure.
- 51:32[SPEAKER_01]: Some of it is gruesome.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_01]: Some of it is hard work.
- 51:34[SPEAKER_01]: Some of it is wonderful.
- 51:36[SPEAKER_01]: Some of it is pure bliss, but you're not gonna like everything.
- 51:39[SPEAKER_01]: You're not gonna like every part of it.
- 51:40[SPEAKER_01]: You're not gonna like every word that I say.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_01]: I have people who have been rocking with me for years that will come in my DMs and they will check me and say, Donnie, I've been rocking with you for years, but that right there.
- 51:51[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't like it.
- 51:52[SPEAKER_01]: Where that right there, I don't agree with.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_01]: And I appreciate it.
- 51:56[SPEAKER_01]: I value it.
- 51:57[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 51:58[SPEAKER_01]: This girl told me, let me see, am I good today?
- 52:00[SPEAKER_01]: She DMed to me and she said, Donnie, I love you.
- 52:04[SPEAKER_01]: I think you're beautiful.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_01]: And I've been rocking with you for years.
- 52:08[SPEAKER_01]: But girl, if you don't put some edge control on the edges, she said that.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_01]: And I wanted to be like,
- 52:15[SPEAKER_01]: I'll tell you, thank you so much, too.
- 52:17[SPEAKER_01]: But then I looked at the clip.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_01]: That's just... And my edges were edged, but that day, it was raining outside.
- 52:26[SPEAKER_01]: And y'all, I got four C here.
- 52:28[SPEAKER_01]: And if there's a level that goes further than four C, I got it, okay?
- 52:33[SPEAKER_01]: And not the length of my hair, but my edges and the length of my hair, they're not the same, okay?
- 52:40[SPEAKER_01]: They just don't cooperate.
- 52:42[SPEAKER_01]: And so edge control means nothing to my hair, all right?
- 52:47[SPEAKER_01]: But because that's who I am and what God blessed me with and that's what my edges look like, I just embrace it.
- 52:53[SPEAKER_01]: I don't walk around trying to hide my edges.
- 52:55[SPEAKER_01]: I know that the edges stuck to my head will never be my mission.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_01]: You guys look great with what you do, but that's never gonna be my mission.
- 53:03[SPEAKER_01]: My edges edge and I'm not willing to put
- 53:05[SPEAKER_01]: the harsh stuff on it that's gonna pull the little edges that I have out.
- 53:10[SPEAKER_01]: So we just accept these naturally grown out edges for what they do and I know it.
- 53:16[SPEAKER_01]: I see it, it hurt my feelings that you said it, but I didn't block you.
- 53:23[SPEAKER_01]: I did it my best.
- 53:24[SPEAKER_01]: If it rains, it's overwit.
- 53:33[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully we'll see them next week.
- 53:34[SPEAKER_00]: Or hopefully we'll see them in the picture or in a social producer.
- 53:36[SPEAKER_00]: Y'all got options.
- 53:37[SPEAKER_01]: You know, options.
- 53:38[SPEAKER_01]: They're doing well.
- 53:39[SPEAKER_01]: Why do you got a pick one?
- 53:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's out of this or that thing.
- 53:41[SPEAKER_01]: It's of this and that.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_00]: They're more sure.
- 53:43[SPEAKER_00]: They'll be rocking what is for years.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_00]: Just come on, come on, let's get rid of this little barrier between you and I. OK, it's just that the YouTube, the screen is too much.
- 53:55[SPEAKER_00]: Just too much.
- 53:56[SPEAKER_00]: Let's come together.
- 53:57[SPEAKER_01]: I like a little barrier.
- 53:59[SPEAKER_01]: I like a little barrier.
- 54:02[SPEAKER_01]: remove the barrier between you and him.
- 54:06[SPEAKER_01]: I like a little barrier.
- 54:08[SPEAKER_01]: Now I'm just going to be guys, come and join us at our in our Patreon.
