- 0:07Speaker 1: his podcast.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Now back to the Mark Simone show on wor Hey,
- 0:13Speaker 2: let's take some calls. Eight hundred three to two one
- 0:16Speaker 2: zero seven ten is the number. Let's go to Stuart
- 0:19Speaker 2: in South Carolina. Stuart, how you doing.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Hey, Mark?
- 0:22Speaker 3: How are you?
- 0:23Speaker 1: As far as you know? This guy fighting the police
- 0:25Speaker 1: and fighting arrest.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Yeah, and Stewart is a longtime law enforcement officer. The
- 0:32Speaker 2: video of those cops are trying to arrest the guy, Well,
- 0:34Speaker 2: what about they keep punching him. Are you supposed to
- 0:37Speaker 2: be punching somebody as a cop.
- 0:39Speaker 1: If he is resisting arrest, you don't know what he's
- 0:42Speaker 1: going to do. You know. People say, well, you know
- 0:45Speaker 1: he didn't have a gun, he's unarmed. If you have
- 0:47Speaker 1: hands and the feet, you are armed. Many people have
- 0:49Speaker 1: been killed with people's hands. And if this guy is innocent,
- 0:53Speaker 1: then just stop and let the criminal case run its course.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Know and prove that you are not guilty. And if
- 1:03Speaker 1: the guy's a security guard, he knows better. But when
- 1:06Speaker 1: you are fighting somebody on the street, you have no clue.
- 1:09Speaker 1: You know what they are capable of and injuring yourself,
- 1:13Speaker 1: you know, or killing you. I had gotten on in
- 1:16Speaker 1: fights on I ninety five when I used to run
- 1:18Speaker 1: traffic there and back in those days in the South,
- 1:21Speaker 1: tractor trackers would stop and help me. I mean it
- 1:25Speaker 1: happened to me many times. I would be by myself
- 1:28Speaker 1: fighting on ninety five stopped.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Well, I'm asking you. I'm not saying these cops are wrong.
- 1:32Speaker 2: You got to get the guy in, but is there
- 1:35Speaker 2: some kind of like choke hold and this kind of
- 1:37Speaker 2: hold where you get the guy in the hold instead
- 1:38Speaker 2: of just punching, punching, punch that.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Remember, yeah, Penny used to choke hold and look what
- 1:44Speaker 1: happened to him, and look what happened to the victim.
- 1:46Speaker 1: So it's damned if you do, Mark, and damned if
- 1:49Speaker 1: you don't. You know, what are these guys going to do?
- 1:51Speaker 1: Until you walk into the shoes of an officer and
- 1:55Speaker 1: trying to arrest someone who may possibly be very dangerous,
- 1:58Speaker 1: You've got to do what you have to do. I mean,
- 2:01Speaker 1: the officers didn't make this guy resist, they didn't make
- 2:03Speaker 1: him fight. You know, he took that on his own.
- 2:06Speaker 1: So the officers have to do whatever they have to
- 2:08Speaker 1: do to stop this guy.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Okay, but what about one of those in the movie
- 2:11Speaker 2: Casino Robert DeNiro, one of those stun gun things that
- 2:14Speaker 2: just touch them and he falls, and you.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Know, if these were I don't know what New York
- 2:20Speaker 1: City that I know the uniform officers carry stunt guns.
- 2:23Speaker 1: But a lot of times these people that it doesn't matter,
- 2:27Speaker 1: it doesn't affect them. It depends on if they're on
- 2:29Speaker 1: drugs or they're so you know, ramped up. I've seen
- 2:32Speaker 1: people get get us stung with these things and it
- 2:35Speaker 1: didn't affect them whatsoever. They just pulled the probes out
- 2:38Speaker 1: and kept fighting. You don't know.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, great call Stuart, thanks for calling. Let's
- 2:43Speaker 2: go to Virginia in New York City, Virginia. How you doing?
- 2:47Speaker 4: Hi? How are you? Mark? I love the show.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Thanks.
- 2:50Speaker 4: I have a question. I've heard a rumor about this
- 2:54Speaker 4: six point two billion dollars that was transferred to an
- 2:58Speaker 4: offshore account the head of Homeland Security, and I wanted
- 3:02Speaker 4: to know if it was a rumor or. I looked
- 3:06Speaker 4: it up on snops and they say that it's unfounded.
- 3:09Speaker 4: But there's also a YouTube video that.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Shows uh oh, there's a YouTube video it must be true.
- 3:16Speaker 4: Oh well is that ai? Also No, But.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Any idiot can put up a YouTube video and claim anything. Now,
- 3:22Speaker 2: don't don't, don't, don't get tangled up in all these
- 3:25Speaker 2: internet rumors. Just ignore it. Okay, all right, thanks for calling.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Let's go to Joel in Florida. Joel, how you doing,
- 3:34Speaker 2: good morning.
- 3:35Speaker 5: More, just a question for you. Justice Alito apparently is
- 3:38Speaker 5: going to be leaving the Supreme Court. Now, a question
- 3:42Speaker 5: I have for you with the three individuals that the
- 3:45Speaker 5: President Trump did put on the Supreme Court, what are
- 3:47Speaker 5: your opinions on what they have accomplished since they've been
- 3:50Speaker 5: on the Supreme Court.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Well, it's a very good question. This happens all the time.
- 3:54Speaker 2: When you're a conservative. You point a conservative to the
- 3:57Speaker 2: Supreme Court, and then he gives you all these liberal
- 4:00Speaker 2: rulings and a million things. It's happened the other way too,
- 4:02Speaker 2: where uh liberal president appoints a liberal all of a
- 4:05Speaker 2: sudden he's given conservative rulings. You never know. Once again,
- 4:09Speaker 2: on the Supreme Court, they'll be okay for the first
- 4:11Speaker 2: year or two, then they go completely completely off the rails.
- 4:15Speaker 2: It happens all the time. Not much a president can
- 4:18Speaker 2: do about that. Let's go to Bonnie and Tom's River Bonnie,
- 4:21Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 4:23Speaker 1: Hi?
- 4:23Speaker 2: More?
- 4:24Speaker 4: I heard on.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Yep, where you go? Mark?
- 4:29Speaker 3: Yeah, yep.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Your phone's cutting out.
- 4:34Speaker 4: Better now I can hear you. He said that if
- 4:38Speaker 4: he goes down.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Up, you're gonna have to call us back, keeps cutting
- 4:43Speaker 2: out Tom's River phone service. There. Oh, let's go to
- 4:47Speaker 2: Vincent and Brooklyn Vincent, how you doing?
- 4:49Speaker 3: Good morning, Mark, Good morning Mark. This is not a
- 4:52Speaker 3: judgment call. But that guy who was tussling with the
- 4:56Speaker 3: cops in in the liquor store in the Delhi he's
- 4:59Speaker 3: a millionaire. They're not. This is not even going to
- 5:02Speaker 3: go to court. The city's lawyers are going to see that.
- 5:06Speaker 3: And if he goes to court, the guy's gonna get
- 5:09Speaker 3: twenty thirty million dollars. He's this is gonna be settled
- 5:12Speaker 3: out of court. The guy's a millionaire. Because the visuals
- 5:16Speaker 3: look really bad, I don't get you know, that's my opinion.
- 5:20Speaker 3: I'm watching a year from now, I'll be right, okay,
- 5:23Speaker 3: As far as Mandami cost them thirty million dollars to
- 5:27Speaker 3: set up one of these supermarkets. A number of years ago,
- 5:31Speaker 3: I helped a friend set up a gourmet ice cream store.
- 5:35Speaker 3: And there was a company in the Bronx that was
- 5:39Speaker 3: producing this really really high quality, high butter fat ice cream,
- 5:44Speaker 3: gourmet ice cream, and he made a deal with them.
- 5:47Speaker 3: They supplied all the refrigerator cases in this store, the
- 5:52Speaker 3: refrigerators and the freezers, as long as he used their products. Now,
- 5:58Speaker 3: in a supermarket, your biggest expense is what's the places
- 6:02Speaker 3: laid out? Architecturally speaking, your biggest expenses are the freezer cases,
- 6:09Speaker 3: in the refrigerated cases. Because usually yeah, but we know
- 6:12Speaker 3: the whole store.
- 6:13Speaker 2: We know from all the top supermarket companies, the cost
- 6:15Speaker 2: of putting together a whole supermarket is one million to
- 6:18Speaker 2: three million at the most.
- 6:20Speaker 3: Exactly my point. So why does he need thirty million dollars?
- 6:24Speaker 3: What is it so he could hand it out to
- 6:26Speaker 3: his friends or a little crony.
- 6:29Speaker 2: I think you're right. I think you're right, Vincent. Great call,
- 6:32Speaker 2: Thanks for calling. Hey, when we come back, the great
- 6:36Speaker 2: comedian Jimmy Fayla, you know he's on here every night
- 6:39Speaker 2: now nine to midnight, excellent show nine to midnight every
- 6:43Speaker 2: night on WOOR. We'll talk to him next about all
- 6:46Speaker 2: of this stuff. Coming up on seven to ten WR
