Latest / Podcast - Big 98.7 / Gabe's Exagger-Radar Went Off (Happy Thanksgiving)
Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: Angie told me a story this morning where my exaggeradar
- 0:07Speaker 1: was going.
- 0:11Speaker 2: It could not have been higher.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Now, I want to know, why is it that the
- 0:16Speaker 1: two ladies I hang out with in my life can't
- 0:19Speaker 1: ever just tell me how a story actually went. It's
- 0:22Speaker 1: always so blown out of proportion that fellas you know
- 0:27Speaker 1: exactly what I'm talking about. Before we get to your story,
- 0:30Speaker 1: I want to tell you there was once upon a
- 0:31Speaker 1: time this summer there were like three Asian beetles that
- 0:34Speaker 1: had got into our house. Yeah, three or four, like
- 0:37Speaker 1: less than a less than five. Yeah, And my wife
- 0:40Speaker 1: is on the phone with her mom or grandma and
- 0:43Speaker 1: she says, oh my gosh, we have an infestation of
- 0:49Speaker 1: Asian beetles in our house.
- 0:51Speaker 3: There was four?
- 0:53Speaker 2: Okay, what is it about you? Two? And stories that
- 0:57Speaker 2: I never hear how it actually happened.
- 1:00Speaker 4: What game you of all people you like when stories
- 1:04Speaker 4: have a little bit of what do you say, duck
- 1:06Speaker 4: sauce on a oh yeah, yeah, A little exaggeration is
- 1:11Speaker 4: not a problem. However, I do have a problem with
- 1:14Speaker 4: the fact that your exaggeradar went off, because I absolutely
- 1:18Speaker 4: was not exaggerating this morning. Mikey, my dear sweet boyfriend
- 1:24Speaker 4: drove me to work. He always drives me to work,
- 1:26Speaker 4: let's be real, but he especially made sure to drive
- 1:29Speaker 4: me to work today because of the icy conditions on
- 1:32Speaker 4: the roads. Your girl is not a great driver throwing
- 1:35Speaker 4: snow and ice, and I might as well just drive
- 1:38Speaker 4: off a cliff. Really, So he drove me to work,
- 1:41Speaker 4: and we went in his truck because he's part of
- 1:44Speaker 4: the truck community like drunk.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Game truck community plus one.
- 1:47Speaker 4: But there's nothing in the bed of the truck. It's
- 1:49Speaker 4: not very heavy back there, and so there were a
- 1:53Speaker 4: couple times where there were some turns where he was
- 1:55Speaker 4: fish tailing a little bit whatever. Then we get into
- 1:59Speaker 4: the parking lot here at work and he says, I
- 2:03Speaker 4: want to get you as close to the building as possible,
- 2:06Speaker 4: because he very sweetly did not want me to slip
- 2:10Speaker 4: on any ice.
- 2:11Speaker 3: When I got out of the truck, I said.
- 2:14Speaker 4: No, no, that's okay, I can walk, because I was
- 2:19Speaker 4: worried that when he swung around, the bed of the
- 2:22Speaker 4: truck would fishtail and there would be a problem. He
- 2:26Speaker 4: goes and loops around to park facing the building. M hm,
- 2:31Speaker 4: and it definitely slid. It slid far to where he
- 2:36Speaker 4: really had to pump, pump, pump the brakes so that
- 2:39Speaker 4: he didn't smash into the front of the building. That's
- 2:42Speaker 4: exactly what happened.
- 2:43Speaker 3: I was terrified.
- 2:45Speaker 4: We didn't smash into the building, but it was close,
- 2:48Speaker 4: and so I told him next time, it's okay, you
- 2:50Speaker 4: can park.
- 2:51Speaker 3: When he picks me up, I said, just park far,
- 2:53Speaker 3: that's fine.
- 2:53Speaker 1: So, as Angie told me that story, I want to
- 2:56Speaker 1: throw out just some facts for you here.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Okay, gosh Maacs.
- 3:00Speaker 1: The chances of Mikey as he pulled up to you know,
- 3:03Speaker 1: hit the brakes, of going more than three miles an
- 3:06Speaker 1: hour are slim to zero.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Okay, I mean this zero second. You might not know this.
- 3:12Speaker 1: There is a giant I mean giant space where the
- 3:17Speaker 1: parking lot ends, the sidewalk starts, a better rocks, and
- 3:22Speaker 1: then the building. I mean there's got to be fifteen feet.
- 3:25Speaker 2: I don't have.
- 3:25Speaker 4: Any depth perception, really, so I don't know that it's
- 3:28Speaker 4: fifteen feet, but I know that we were close.
- 3:31Speaker 1: So I'm saying his odds of hitting this building are
- 3:34Speaker 1: being even remotely close, are the probably the same as
- 3:39Speaker 1: me going out and getting struck by lightning today.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Do you know what I do want.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Now you're saying, there's a chance you.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Know what I do wonder, Angie. So when Mikey drops
- 3:47Speaker 1: you off, he's nice enough and Fellas back me up.
- 3:49Speaker 1: You know, I don't know how we do it. You know,
- 3:52Speaker 1: when we leave right and we go home and you
- 3:54Speaker 1: got to drive down the road and there's that stop
- 3:57Speaker 1: sign and you got to take a right. Yeah, how
- 3:59Speaker 1: on earth does he know to stop there without you
- 4:01Speaker 1: yelling at him. I'm just it's amazing that he makes
- 4:05Speaker 1: it home successfully on a day to day basis without you.
- 4:09Speaker 3: That is something I try to.
- 4:10Speaker 4: Tell myself, like he was driving for a full I
- 4:15Speaker 4: don't know, twenty something years before I was even born.
- 4:23Speaker 5: Celebrating life's little victories. Victory every morning we practice gratitude
- 4:28Speaker 5: on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 4:29Speaker 1: If I could, I would keep this feeling in a
- 4:32Speaker 1: basket job busted out when it was someone's acting hard.
- 4:35Speaker 5: I just really needed to win, you know, sure your
- 4:37Speaker 5: little victories with us at seven oh one two and
- 4:40Speaker 5: oh one ninety eight seven.
- 4:42Speaker 1: You have a little victory the day before Thanksgiving, Angie,
- 4:45Speaker 1: this is a great time to give thanks.
- 4:47Speaker 4: Yes, I do, and it actually involves you, Gabe. So
- 4:52Speaker 4: back in March, I packed up my car with everything
- 4:56Speaker 4: I could possibly fit into it, and I drove across
- 4:59Speaker 4: the count from Seattle, Washington to move here to Fargo,
- 5:03Speaker 4: North Dakota, to start doing a morning show with a
- 5:08Speaker 4: host I had never really spent.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Any time with.
- 5:11Speaker 4: And I was very nervous and thought, oh my gosh,
- 5:14Speaker 4: how is this even gonna go or are we gonna
- 5:16Speaker 4: get along? And now that we are seven months into
- 5:21Speaker 4: this thing, I want to say that it is not
- 5:25Speaker 4: a little victory. It is a huge victory to have
- 5:28Speaker 4: you as my co host. I feel like we have
- 5:32Speaker 4: such a great chemistry. I feel like we super click,
- 5:35Speaker 4: and it's just so fun doing this show with you,
- 5:40Speaker 4: and we never know if anybody is actually listening to
- 5:43Speaker 4: the show. If you do, obviously super thankful for you.
- 5:47Speaker 4: But in this studio, when it's just me and you,
- 5:50Speaker 4: I have the time of my life.
- 5:52Speaker 3: I look forward to.
- 5:53Speaker 4: Going to work every day, and I just adore you
- 5:56Speaker 4: so much. You're not just my co host, You've become
- 5:58Speaker 4: a very dear friend. So I'm very thankful for you.
- 6:02Speaker 3: Gabe Ill. I can't believe I'm crying. I'm pmssing shut up.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Starting a day off with some tears here. Well, that's
- 6:11Speaker 1: very sweet, Angie. You know what, I'm really thankful. I'm
- 6:14Speaker 1: really grateful for what. Like you know, when you go
- 6:17Speaker 1: through a drive through and you get some extra fries
- 6:19Speaker 1: laid at the bottom of the bag that you Yeah,
- 6:22Speaker 1: that's what I'm grateful for.
- 6:23Speaker 3: No, I get that. How can I compete with fries?
- 6:29Speaker 2: I'm just kidding.
- 6:30Speaker 1: It has been nothing but wonderful working with Angie every
- 6:34Speaker 1: single day. I'm very, very grateful of that. It was
- 6:36Speaker 1: kind of a wild ride when I first got here.
- 6:39Speaker 1: You know, there was some people who did the show
- 6:41Speaker 1: for a very long time, and then I sort of
- 6:43Speaker 1: got thrust into it, which I'm grateful for, and it's
- 6:46Speaker 1: been an awesome time. But there is something true about
- 6:50Speaker 1: when Angie and I are in the studio. We have
- 6:52Speaker 1: no clue if anyone listens, if they care, if they
- 6:56Speaker 1: laugh when we laugh. But I have such a great
- 6:59Speaker 1: time in here with Angie every day, and I'm so
- 7:02Speaker 1: grateful that she was the one who ended up sitting
- 7:05Speaker 1: in the.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Seat over there.
- 7:06Speaker 1: We have such a good time on the air, We
- 7:09Speaker 1: have such a good time off the air. Those are
- 7:12Speaker 1: the convos that we wish we could but we have
- 7:15Speaker 1: so much fun. And Angie's just she's she's like my buddy,
- 7:20Speaker 1: my partner in crime. She's Batman. I'm robbin in the hallways.
- 7:23Speaker 1: And that what I think we're switched.
- 7:25Speaker 3: I think.
- 7:27Speaker 2: That's the way.
- 7:28Speaker 3: Maybe I'm the penguin. I'm even going to tell you that's.
- 7:33Speaker 2: That's the way.
- 7:33Speaker 1: I want to keep it as you being Batman and
- 7:35Speaker 1: leading the charge in here, and I'm just gonna ride
- 7:37Speaker 1: your coat tails for as long as possible.
- 7:39Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, gave You're so sweet. I love how
- 7:41Speaker 3: I forced you to be grateful for me.
- 7:45Speaker 1: No, we have got glass animals, as we have the
- 7:49Speaker 1: day before Thanksgiving. If there's something you want to share,
- 7:52Speaker 1: maybe it's not a little victory, but just something you're
- 7:54Speaker 1: thankful for this morning, let us know. It's seven oh
- 7:56Speaker 1: one two eight zero one nine eight seven. Maybe there's
- 7:59Speaker 1: a dude who snow blows the driveways in your neighborhood.
- 8:03Speaker 1: I feel like that is just a prerequisite for being
- 8:06Speaker 1: a fifty year old man with a snowblower. You want
- 8:09Speaker 1: to use that thing everywhere. Maybe you're thankful for that guy,
- 8:13Speaker 1: and you want to share that with us this morning.
- 8:15Speaker 1: All right, let us know at two at seven oh
- 8:17Speaker 1: one two eight zero one nine eight seven. Man Angie
- 8:21Speaker 1: started this show with some tears here this morning.
- 8:23Speaker 2: I can't wait to see what's in the tea now
- 8:30Speaker 2: this Thanksgiving.
- 8:31Speaker 1: If you're lucky, you might get sent home with a
- 8:33Speaker 1: couple of leftovers.
- 8:35Speaker 4: All right.
- 8:35Speaker 1: There is nothing better than when mom gets that old
- 8:39Speaker 1: cool whip that has turned into tupperware, yes.
- 8:45Speaker 2: And loads you up.
- 8:46Speaker 1: You know, some mashed potatoes, maybe a little turkey, a
- 8:48Speaker 1: little bit of corn, throwing in some stuffing. You drive
- 8:51Speaker 1: three hours from Minneapolis back to Fargo.
- 8:54Speaker 3: This feels personal.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Throw that in the fridge and eat it the next day.
- 8:59Speaker 1: There are there are some foods, though I think it's
- 9:01Speaker 1: fair to say that are much better leftovers than others.
- 9:06Speaker 1: What are your favorite leftovers? Seven oh one two eight
- 9:08Speaker 1: zero one nine eight seven. There's not really. I'm not
- 9:11Speaker 1: like a cold pizza kind of guy, so there's not
- 9:13Speaker 1: a tough Yeah, there's not a ton of cold leftovers
- 9:16Speaker 1: that I'm a giant fan of. I'm I like putting
- 9:19Speaker 1: everything pretty much in the microwave, even if it's for
- 9:21Speaker 1: like thirty seconds, as opposed to cold cold. Yeah, my
- 9:25Speaker 1: wife loves cold pizza, so do.
- 9:27Speaker 4: I for me, here are the three it's the three
- 9:29Speaker 4: piece for me and one of which will occur tomorrow.
- 9:33Speaker 4: Pad Thai pizza pie. So pad thai is so great
- 9:38Speaker 4: when you first have it, but then when you have
- 9:41Speaker 4: it left over, I don't even like to heat up
- 9:43Speaker 4: the pad tie.
- 9:44Speaker 3: I don't even know if that's good for me or not.
- 9:46Speaker 4: But it tastes delicious leftover and cold. I'm realizing everything
- 9:50Speaker 4: I like is cold pizza, cold as leftover pizza delicious.
- 9:55Speaker 4: And then pie. I'm not a fan of warm apple pie.
- 10:00Speaker 4: Like you make the pie, you put it on the
- 10:02Speaker 4: windowsil because this is a cartoon, and you let it
- 10:06Speaker 4: cool on the windowsill, but then there's still like some
- 10:10Speaker 4: warmth to it and you bite into that warm apple pie. Ill. No,
- 10:14Speaker 4: it is so great when then it's been in the
- 10:17Speaker 4: fridge and then you get it the next day and
- 10:18Speaker 4: it's cold. That's what I'm looking forward to on Friday
- 10:23Speaker 4: after we have pie on Thanksgiving tomorrow.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Well, Angie, there's quite a lot of people who agree
- 10:28Speaker 1: with you on Facebook, like Julie, she said pizza best leftover. Yes,
- 10:32Speaker 1: we also had Angela who said pizza, So there's definitely
- 10:36Speaker 1: some people agreeing with you on Facebook. My three favorite leftovers,
- 10:39Speaker 1: I'm pretty positive they would be in this order. Okay,
- 10:43Speaker 1: all right, there is nothing better. I don't know if
- 10:47Speaker 1: it's there's like the grease or something which sounds gross,
- 10:50Speaker 1: but the oils soaking in but leftover Chinese food, Oh yeah,
- 10:55Speaker 1: have the micro woll yes, it might as well be.
- 10:58Speaker 2: How they just give it to you. What they need
- 11:00Speaker 2: to start doing.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Make the food, put it in the fridge for twenty
- 11:02Speaker 1: four hours, and give it to you the next day
- 11:04Speaker 1: out of the microwave.
- 11:05Speaker 2: That's so fire.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Other than that, you know, a nice hw Doba or
- 11:11Speaker 1: Chipotle like burrito or a burrito bowl. You think that's better.
- 11:15Speaker 1: Left over, so good out of the microwave. Give that
- 11:18Speaker 1: a little forty five fifty second.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Oh my no god, I'm hungry right now.
- 11:23Speaker 3: No, Gabe, that is so wrong.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Good, Oh my god, it's incredible. And then finally I
- 11:31Speaker 1: love I don't know if it's because it drives it
- 11:34Speaker 1: out a tiny bit. You put a little salt on
- 11:36Speaker 1: there and then just you get a burst of sodium
- 11:39Speaker 1: or whatever. Real healthy, clearly left over like dark meat turkey,
- 11:44Speaker 1: not the white meat. That's the stuff that can kind
- 11:45Speaker 1: of dry out and you have some butter or whatever.
- 11:48Speaker 1: But like when you carve up a turkey and you
- 11:51Speaker 1: have a leg and you can put that baby in
- 11:54Speaker 1: the fridge for like twenty four hours and eat it
- 11:57Speaker 1: the next day and the skin is nice and crispy.
- 11:59Speaker 2: Oh, I got it's so good. Clearly I'm hungry.
- 12:04Speaker 3: Is that drool I see coming from?
- 12:06Speaker 2: That's right.
- 12:07Speaker 1: We have a lot of people who did say this,
- 12:09Speaker 1: and I do agree, but I still prefer this like
- 12:12Speaker 1: right off the stove. But a ton of people said spaghetti, Gina.
- 12:18Speaker 1: We had Kristin Donna said spaghetti. A bunch of other
- 12:21Speaker 1: people said chili, which I do agree.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Is very good.
- 12:25Speaker 3: Chilly. Yes.
- 12:27Speaker 2: We had someone who said it was Ricky.
- 12:29Speaker 1: I'll throw yesterday's spaghetti in the frying pan so they
- 12:32Speaker 1: don't just microwave this. This person actually fries it up
- 12:36Speaker 1: in a pan the next day.
- 12:37Speaker 2: Which sound really good.
- 12:39Speaker 3: Unlocked who said this, Who do I give thankful for?
- 12:42Speaker 2: That was Ricky?
- 12:43Speaker 3: Ricky, I'm thankful for you.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Now there's one more person who does have the right answer, though. Leanna,
- 12:49Speaker 1: she had she had her thinking cap on yesterday when
- 12:51Speaker 1: I asked this question on Facebook, she said, all leftovers
- 12:55Speaker 1: are good because I don't have to cook.
- 12:59Speaker 2: Right there?
- 13:05Speaker 1: All right, have you ever had a crazy Thanksgiving experience?
- 13:09Speaker 1: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 13:14Speaker 1: We did get a text from Kevin, and Kevin did
- 13:18Speaker 1: say he doesn't have any single crazy story, but he
- 13:22Speaker 1: does have the guaranteed Thanksgiving fight every year between his uncles.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Every year. I guess his uncle's are just arguing.
- 13:29Speaker 3: Oh that's funny, Yeah, that's funny. I kind of love
- 13:32Speaker 3: when adult siblings argue.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Yeah, there is something about like a fifty and a
- 13:37Speaker 1: fifty four year old bickering.
- 13:39Speaker 3: Yes, I don't know why I love.
- 13:41Speaker 2: That so much.
- 13:43Speaker 3: So there was a Thanksgiving A couple of thank Givings ago.
- 13:46Speaker 4: We went to my in laws for Thanksgiving and my
- 13:50Speaker 4: mother in law was in charge of making the green
- 13:54Speaker 4: bean casserole. And if you learned anything about me yesterday
- 13:58Speaker 4: is that I love green bean castrole.
- 14:01Speaker 3: She was like, I got you, I'm gonna make this.
- 14:04Speaker 4: So the dishes are served, we all scoop ourselves some
- 14:08Speaker 4: green bean castrole. Aiden my older son, he absolutely loved
- 14:13Speaker 4: it and he went to grab seconds. So he uses
- 14:17Speaker 4: the big metal spoon and he goes to dig in
- 14:20Speaker 4: and all of a sudden, you hear a clink, and
- 14:24Speaker 4: he thought, Okay, what's that clink?
- 14:26Speaker 2: Oh? Did I reach the bottom of the clink?
- 14:29Speaker 3: Yeah, the bottom of the pan. Well, as it turns.
- 14:31Speaker 4: Out, my mother in law was a little tipsy while
- 14:35Speaker 4: she was making the green bean castrole, and so what
- 14:39Speaker 4: the big metal spoon was hitting was the lid of
- 14:43Speaker 4: the green beans.
- 14:44Speaker 3: So there was my god, I'm entire and it was.
- 14:47Speaker 4: One of those huge aluminum cans of green beans, like
- 14:51Speaker 4: the Mega can, and so this huge pie sized lid
- 14:57Speaker 4: of green bean can was just baked right in for
- 15:02Speaker 4: extra metallic flavor the green bean castrole.
- 15:06Speaker 3: She pulled it out and she was like, Whoopsie.
- 15:09Speaker 2: I mean, and the end of the day, it's not
- 15:11Speaker 2: the worst thing. But how is that? You wonder how
- 15:13Speaker 2: things like that are impossible?
- 15:15Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 15:15Speaker 3: I mean it was very funny.
- 15:16Speaker 4: But she has not been tasked with cooking any dishes
- 15:21Speaker 4: for Thanksgiving.
- 15:22Speaker 1: I feel bad for her. I'm sure that's one of
- 15:23Speaker 1: those you bring up every year. She'll never live that down.
- 15:28Speaker 4: In fact, when we get off air, I'm in a
- 15:30Speaker 4: text her and say, hey, remember when you baked the green.
- 15:33Speaker 3: Bean lid into the green bean castle?
- 15:37Speaker 2: All Right?
- 15:37Speaker 1: Do you know when you turn on the news, right
- 15:41Speaker 1: you're watching Valley News Live this morning, and they're letting
- 15:43Speaker 1: you know, hey, here's how to not make your turkey explode,
- 15:47Speaker 1: and they show you all these videos of these turkeys.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Oh yeah, essentially just catch them fire everywhere, and you're like,
- 15:52Speaker 1: how is that possible?
- 15:54Speaker 2: I have a buddy.
- 15:55Speaker 1: I will let him remain nameless because I don't want
- 15:57Speaker 1: to embarrass him, but we deep fried a turkey one year.
- 16:01Speaker 2: He did.
- 16:01Speaker 3: I didn't do anything, and you were there just.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Around and this dude blew up a turkey essentially. Now,
- 16:10Speaker 1: it wasn't like the crazy extreme things you see on
- 16:15Speaker 1: the news or like America's funniest home videos. Yeah, but
- 16:17Speaker 1: he did drop a turkey into a deep frying thing
- 16:21Speaker 1: and it caught fire and ruined the entire turkey for
- 16:25Speaker 1: all the people he had over. I have some buddies
- 16:27Speaker 1: for I can go to their families for Thanksgiving. Yeah, like,
- 16:30Speaker 1: after I'm kind of dune with my family, I'm allowed
- 16:32Speaker 1: to kind of go venture off. I didn't even know
- 16:35Speaker 1: things like this were possible until I saw it with
- 16:38Speaker 1: my own two eyes in person. So thankfully, you know,
- 16:41Speaker 1: his parents, they had some ham or something else. I
- 16:43Speaker 1: don't know, right, Yeah, so it's not like that are
- 16:47Speaker 1: called Domino's.
- 16:48Speaker 4: You know what. I think the parents had another meat
- 16:52Speaker 4: on deck because they knew was going to ruin this turkey.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Do you have a pretty Thanksgiving story? Let us know
- 17:01Speaker 1: this morning? And it was so weird because he had
- 17:04Speaker 1: done this before, this wasn't his first time. I don't
- 17:07Speaker 1: know if he was just impatient and didn't make sure
- 17:10Speaker 1: the turkey was thought out completely or what.
- 17:13Speaker 4: But sometimes the second rodeo doesn't pan out.
- 17:19Speaker 5: This is am I the problem?
- 17:22Speaker 3: It's all on the problem.
- 17:26Speaker 4: It's me.
- 17:26Speaker 5: We'll hear one side of the story, and with your help,
- 17:29Speaker 5: am I the problem? Decide if it's right or if
- 17:32Speaker 5: maybe you're the problem.
- 17:34Speaker 3: I'm hardly the problem.
- 17:35Speaker 5: On Big ninety eight point seven.
- 17:39Speaker 4: Tia wrote into us, and she actually sent this to
- 17:41Speaker 4: us on Monday, but it was after the show, and
- 17:44Speaker 4: so we didn't do am I the Problem yesterday. It
- 17:47Speaker 4: is imperative that we get to it today because it
- 17:50Speaker 4: deals with Thanksgiving Eve, which is today.
- 17:53Speaker 2: Oh weird.
- 17:54Speaker 3: Yeah, So Tia wrote.
- 17:55Speaker 4: Into us and specifically she mentions you gabes, you really
- 18:01Speaker 4: need to be paying attention. I'm not inviting my cousin
- 18:05Speaker 4: to bar hop Thanksgiving Eve. She's the only cousin not
- 18:09Speaker 4: invited out of the six that are in town for Thanksgiving.
- 18:13Speaker 3: She's a snitch.
- 18:15Speaker 4: It's cousin tradition to bar hop the day before Thanksgiving.
- 18:19Speaker 4: She finally turned twenty one last year and got to
- 18:22Speaker 4: join for the first time, But then at Thanksgiving dinner,
- 18:26Speaker 4: she snitched to the whole family about our shenanigans, and
- 18:29Speaker 4: then we had to have this whole talk about responsibility
- 18:33Speaker 4: and the family name. It was killjoy af and she
- 18:37Speaker 4: never apologized for it. Now she's apologizing because she found
- 18:41Speaker 4: out she's not invited this year and wants a second chance.
- 18:45Speaker 4: Am I the problem for not wanting to give her one?
- 18:48Speaker 4: If she was sorry last year? Maybe, but I don't
- 18:51Speaker 4: trust her with this, and I bet she'll snitch again.
- 18:55Speaker 4: Two of my other cousins feel bad she's going to
- 18:57Speaker 4: be the only one left out. But I'm the one
- 18:59Speaker 4: who Thanksgiving this year, so I get to choose. What
- 19:03Speaker 4: do you think, Gabe? I feel like you'd be on
- 19:05Speaker 4: my side. Are you on TIA's side?
- 19:09Speaker 1: Tia, while having the old responsibilities talk while you're bar
- 19:14Speaker 1: hopping her after the fact. No one wants to deal
- 19:17Speaker 1: with that. It's supposed to be fun. It's supposed to
- 19:20Speaker 1: be a good time. Maybe even it turns into some
- 19:23Speaker 1: goofy family tradition, which it sounds like it is. Yeah, Tia,
- 19:26Speaker 1: you are the problem. There is a saying Angie has
- 19:29Speaker 1: taught me here on Big ninety eight point seven that
- 19:32Speaker 1: I have liked to live by ever since.
- 19:35Speaker 3: All Right, Okay, Oh gosh, how did I get jagged
- 19:37Speaker 3: into this?
- 19:37Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 19:38Speaker 1: Once is never, Twice is always? Okay, this has only
- 19:44Speaker 1: happened one time. Your cousin was twenty one years old.
- 19:48Speaker 1: All right, it's like being a rookie in the NFL.
- 19:51Speaker 1: There's gonna be some growing pains when it comes to
- 19:54Speaker 1: the adult bar hopping without mom and dad when you're
- 19:57Speaker 1: twenty one years old. Okay, you gotta give her a
- 19:59Speaker 1: s second chance. You gotta let her learn from her mistakes.
- 20:02Speaker 2: All right. You remember being twenty one going to the bar.
- 20:05Speaker 1: You had to think about what you were going to
- 20:08Speaker 1: order before you got to the bar tender, so you
- 20:11Speaker 1: didn't sound like a blubbering idiot. Okay, I would like
- 20:15Speaker 1: i'd practice what I was gonna get so I didn't
- 20:18Speaker 1: sound like a moron because I had never done it. Well,
- 20:22Speaker 1: I had never done it before. Okay, so you need
- 20:25Speaker 1: to give your cousin another chance. And if and if
- 20:29Speaker 1: she fails this go round, if she starts or yapping
- 20:32Speaker 1: away running her mouth about what crazy cousin Ricky was
- 20:36Speaker 1: doing on top of the bar with no shirt on
- 20:39Speaker 1: doing the chicken dance, Okay, then we probably go, Hey,
- 20:42Speaker 1: we gave you another shot.
- 20:44Speaker 2: It's over. I'm done dealing with this. Okay.
- 20:46Speaker 1: But she is young, she is dumb, but she's probably
- 20:49Speaker 1: full of fun. Okay, she got to invite her one
- 20:52Speaker 1: more time. Okay, you gotta give her a second chance.
- 20:54Speaker 3: What are your thoughts?
- 20:55Speaker 4: Seven oh one, two, eight oh one, nine eighty seven.
- 20:58Speaker 4: I have thoughts, but I'll save it. Okay, that'll be
- 21:01Speaker 4: coming up next part two.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Am I the problem on Big ninety eight point seven?
- 21:07Speaker 1: Do you think Tia is the problem?
- 21:09Speaker 5: Do?
- 21:09Speaker 4: Aba? Hey?
- 21:10Speaker 1: I think it should be the what happens in Vegas
- 21:13Speaker 1: stays in Vegas, the thing you know, otherwise the next time,
- 21:16Speaker 1: don't ever.
- 21:16Speaker 4: Be, don't get to come again.
- 21:17Speaker 2: So you're giving her a second chance.
- 21:19Speaker 3: Yeah, So what happens at the bar stays at the bar.
- 21:22Speaker 2: So if you blab, you're done.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Those are the life lessons kids didn't know they would
- 21:26Speaker 1: learn here on Big ninety eight point seven. Okay, what
- 21:28Speaker 1: happens at the bar stays at the bar, exactly exactly.
- 21:33Speaker 2: You might not know you needed that information, all right.
- 21:35Speaker 1: If you are a young twenty one year old and
- 21:37Speaker 1: you're invited out to do a little bar hopping, or
- 21:39Speaker 1: maybe just any type of bar hopping, shut up, shut.
- 21:43Speaker 3: Up, Yeah, Tia.
- 21:44Speaker 4: Tia doesn't want to invite her cousin to the Thanksgiving
- 21:48Speaker 4: Eve cousin bar hop this year because last year she
- 21:52Speaker 4: blabbed at the Thanksgiving table about all the Shenana games
- 21:56Speaker 4: they got up to. So she thinks you're not coming.
- 21:59Speaker 4: But she came to Big ninety eight point seven to
- 22:01Speaker 4: find out. Okay, do I give her a second chance
- 22:04Speaker 4: or not?
- 22:06Speaker 3: We had a lot of people.
- 22:07Speaker 4: We put this up on the Facebook page, and a
- 22:09Speaker 4: lot of people are team second chance.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Yeah, Molly, Laura Tanya. Everyone's saying, hey, give her another shot.
- 22:17Speaker 1: She hopefully learns her lesson, and then if she doesn't,
- 22:20Speaker 1: well she doesn't get invited anymore.
- 22:22Speaker 4: Here's what I think you give her the second chance. Fine,
- 22:28Speaker 4: but when you're out at the bar, you make sure
- 22:31Speaker 4: that your cousin does something so embarrassing that she doesn't
- 22:36Speaker 4: want it brought up at the Thanksgiving table, and then
- 22:39Speaker 4: she'll keep her mouth shut about everybody else.
- 22:41Speaker 1: It sounds like, I don't know if the word would
- 22:44Speaker 1: be blackmail, or it sounds like it's set her up
- 22:47Speaker 1: for a trap kind of.
- 22:48Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly, that's what you gotta do with a young
- 22:51Speaker 4: twenty two year old.
- 22:52Speaker 1: If you remember the movie Training Day, Yeah, all right.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Denzel Washington's character Alonzo, he makes a statement to young
- 23:01Speaker 1: officer Hoyt that, hey, you gotta get a little dirt
- 23:04Speaker 1: on you before anyone else can trust you. This is
- 23:07Speaker 1: a learning lesson for this young twenty one year old cousin. Hey,
- 23:11Speaker 1: you gotta, you gotta there's a little give and take. Okay,
- 23:14Speaker 1: there's gotta be something you can do to get your
- 23:17Speaker 1: cousins to go, Hey, I don't want them bringing this up.
- 23:20Speaker 1: I'm gonna do it anyway. And now they have some
- 23:23Speaker 1: dirt on me. Now all is safe and I can
- 23:26Speaker 1: still get invited.
- 23:27Speaker 3: That's called mutually assured destruction.
- 23:30Speaker 1: That's exactly right. Now, Angie, I do have another question
- 23:34Speaker 1: for you here. You want to give her the second chance,
- 23:36Speaker 1: but maybe get a little dirt on her kind of thing. Yeah,
- 23:39Speaker 1: do you think by twenty one you should probably know
- 23:43Speaker 1: to like, hey, what happens at the bar stays at
- 23:46Speaker 1: the bar kind of thing. Also, I'm kind of wondering too,
- 23:49Speaker 1: like Tiya, what could really have been that embarrassing at Thanksgiving.
- 23:53Speaker 1: I'll tell you what you might think. Auntie and uncle
- 23:56Speaker 1: and mom and dad don't know what bar hopping is,
- 23:59Speaker 1: but me shocked.
- 24:01Speaker 2: I'm sure they know exactly what's no.
- 24:04Speaker 4: No no, based on her getting the talk about the
- 24:07Speaker 4: family name. TIA's mother is a lot like mine, starting
- 24:16Speaker 4: off the day with something good.
- 24:18Speaker 5: This is Gabe's good news on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 24:24Speaker 1: While finishing her bus route last week, a Minnesota school
- 24:28Speaker 1: bus driver she noticed a small child running toward a
- 24:31Speaker 1: nearby lake. He was crying, barefoot, not dressed properly for
- 24:35Speaker 1: the cold, and she didn't know at the time that
- 24:37Speaker 1: this kid had been reported missing. She tried calling out
- 24:39Speaker 1: from the driver's window, but the kid kept running towards
- 24:42Speaker 1: the water, and he actually slipped through this gate.
- 24:46Speaker 3: Oh my gosh.
- 24:47Speaker 1: She parked the bus ran after him and reached him
- 24:50Speaker 1: just as he stepped into a deep area and began struggling.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Although she had never learned to swim and is kind
- 24:55Speaker 1: of afraid of deep water, she went in, grabbed his hand,
- 24:58Speaker 1: and carried him back to safety before calling dispatch. When
- 25:01Speaker 1: the deputies arrived, a sergeant Matt Marson, he found the
- 25:04Speaker 1: four year old wrapped in towels on the bus and
- 25:06Speaker 1: said this bus driver's actions were essential in saving him.
- 25:10Speaker 1: She formally she'll be formally honored with a life saving award,
- 25:14Speaker 1: but for her part, she says she just believes people
- 25:16Speaker 1: should look out for one another.
- 25:19Speaker 3: Love her. That's amazing. She should be honored. What a queen.
- 25:22Speaker 1: That's right, And that's your good news of the day.
- 25:25Speaker 1: Also good news it is Thanksgiving tomorrow. Angie and I
- 25:28Speaker 1: both oh and I don't want to speak for Angie,
- 25:29Speaker 1: but we probably can. We both hope you have a
- 25:32Speaker 1: wonderful day tomorrow. If today maybe you're doing a little
- 25:36Speaker 1: Thanksgiving or pre Thanksgiving bar hop We hope you have
- 25:39Speaker 1: a fun time. We hope you have a safe time
- 25:41Speaker 1: and you enjoy it. You know, even if crazy Uncle
- 25:43Speaker 1: Kevin or Carl whatever's name is, is a pain to
- 25:49Speaker 1: be around for a long extended period of time. You know,
- 25:52Speaker 1: it is family and that's what the holidays are all about,
- 25:55Speaker 1: spending it with those you love and just having a
- 25:57Speaker 1: good time and maybe watching you know, Dell lose, so
- 26:00Speaker 1: we'll have to enjoy some football tomorrow too. I hope
- 26:03Speaker 1: your turkey comes out nice and moist and not dry,
- 26:06Speaker 1: and everything else is wonderful as well. And if you're
- 26:09Speaker 1: not bringing anything, bring don dish soap. Do the dishes.
- 26:12Speaker 1: You'll be the dishes hero.
- 26:13Speaker 3: Yeah, Happy Thanksgiving.
- 26:15Speaker 1: The world is full of nice people. If you can't
- 26:17Speaker 1: find one, you gotta be one.
