- 3:31Speaker 2: Thank you for coming to book watchers. My name is Jacob.
- 3:34Speaker 2: And of course, my dear friend Devin here will be
- 3:36Speaker 2: turning thirty four in just two months.
- 3:40Speaker 1: How dare you? How dare you? How do you out
- 3:43Speaker 1: me like that? I don't look thirty four? Thank you?
- 3:45Speaker 1: I look youthful.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Yeah, just save your beard. That'll shave off ten years.
- 3:52Speaker 1: I mean I actually would, but I would look horrible,
- 3:56Speaker 1: so terrified.
- 3:59Speaker 2: You look like a child.
- 4:00Speaker 1: I look like a child.
- 4:02Speaker 2: You look like a pref besting child.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Gross. Yes, I mean I did that one time. And
- 4:08Speaker 1: then my friend came to pick me up for college
- 4:11Speaker 1: and she looked at she rolled down the window, looked
- 4:13Speaker 1: at me, and drove away. She's like, she rolled down
- 4:17Speaker 1: the window and she looked at me like she rolled
- 4:21Speaker 1: out the window and just drove off, And I'm like,
- 4:23Speaker 1: were you? And then she drove back after like ten
- 4:27Speaker 1: minutes and I'm like hello, and she's like, you're never
- 4:31Speaker 1: to ever shave your beard ever again. And I'm like,
- 4:34Speaker 1: note it note it. And I mean I was in
- 4:38Speaker 1: my mid twenties at that point, but I literally looked
- 4:41Speaker 1: I had a baby head stuck on me. So God
- 4:43Speaker 1: only knows why, Like now, probably a toddler at this point,
- 4:46Speaker 1: like a five year old head on a grown man body.
- 4:50Speaker 1: God like it.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Bill's very dough boy.
- 4:56Speaker 1: That's so rude. That's so rude. I don't go when
- 5:00Speaker 1: you poked me, you fucking bitch gonna be asked like
- 5:06Speaker 1: a motherfucker. God, when we talk, we're talking about fucking
- 5:10Speaker 1: Dungeon Crawler Carl Book two. God done with this ship.
- 5:17Speaker 2: That is right. So today we are going to be
- 5:19Speaker 2: talking about the next book in the Dungeon Crawler series.
- 5:23Speaker 2: This is Dungeon Crawler Carl Book two, Carl's doomsday scenario.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Get a look at.
- 5:28Speaker 1: That, Look at that look, look at that pretty book.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Look at that pretty book.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Look at this pretty look. Que don't queen queen Lover
- 5:37Speaker 2: like we call her queen, but she's really a princess.
- 5:40Speaker 2: But Query all right. So, as I said in the
- 5:46Speaker 2: as I said in the last episode that we reviewed
- 5:48Speaker 2: Dungeon Crawler Carl, if you purchase the ACE hardcover edition,
- 5:52Speaker 2: so that ACE is the publisher there the h if
- 5:58Speaker 2: you if you purchased the Ace car hardcover edition. The
- 6:01Speaker 2: Ace hardcover Edition comes with a special bonus content at
- 6:08Speaker 2: the end of every at the end of each book,
- 6:10Speaker 2: and this bonus content is known as Backstage at the
- 6:15Speaker 2: hold On. It is called the Backstage at the Pineapple Cabaret.
- 6:21Speaker 2: All right, So this is the little bonus content. It's
- 6:23Speaker 2: not that long. It's just a little extra chapter. And
- 6:26Speaker 2: it does not center I will say, it does not
- 6:29Speaker 2: center around Carl or Donut or any of the other
- 6:33Speaker 2: main characters of the story. This book is actually going
- 6:36Speaker 2: to introduce a lot of characters that Carl and Donut
- 6:40Speaker 2: will be friends and they become like a huge part
- 6:43Speaker 2: of their of their party in the future. But Pineapple
- 6:46Speaker 2: Cabaret is just like a little side story. It's definitely
- 6:50Speaker 2: building up to something. I'm not to this point, I've
- 6:53Speaker 2: read like since I have all of the Ace hardcover
- 6:57Speaker 2: editions that has been released so far. Uh like it's
- 7:01Speaker 2: it's building up to something, but I'm not entirely sure
- 7:03Speaker 2: what just yet. But it gets good. We're eventually going
- 7:08Speaker 2: to do a just the Pineapple Cabaret.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Yeah, yep, we'll see.
- 7:17Speaker 2: But that's not for that's not gonna be for a while.
- 7:20Speaker 2: So sit back, relax, and let's talk about Carl's doomsday scenario.
- 7:26Speaker 2: It's fitting because Carl causes a lot of He causes.
- 7:30Speaker 2: He he does a lot. He's doing his best, he does.
- 7:35Speaker 2: He's doing his best because his best is still somehow
- 7:38Speaker 2: causing as much anarchy and chaos as possible.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, as you can see Jacob as having
- 7:44Speaker 1: an old person moment. I think he forgot to take
- 7:47Speaker 1: his meds this morning, Yes, say whatever. Its pointing out
- 7:57Speaker 1: the obvious, you old fart.
- 8:02Speaker 2: H m hm hm.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Like I fucking hate you. You don't though, mm.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Hmmm uh huh yeah.
- 8:20Speaker 1: I cause it like I sees it. I CAUs it
- 8:22Speaker 1: like I sees it.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Uh what was happening with you just now? Uh huh
- 8:27Speaker 2: over here having a stroke with your old ass.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Okay, okay, I'm a proms.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Really traveling up north, isn't it.
- 8:35Speaker 1: That's terrible. I'm always scared of getting one. Don't do
- 8:40Speaker 1: that to me. I'm always That's one of the things.
- 8:42Speaker 1: I'm always scared of that and or like an aneurysm uh.
- 8:46Speaker 2: Huh okay, I'm I'm scared of that too, because my
- 8:49Speaker 2: because one of my aunts did dive in of a
- 8:51Speaker 2: blood clot, so I can't.
- 8:55Speaker 1: It's one of the things you hyper because you get
- 8:57Speaker 1: you get me going hyper fixated. I'm like.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Anyway, So anyway, getting back to the story. Uh, so
- 9:05Speaker 2: Carl and Donut have officially answered the third floor of
- 9:09Speaker 2: the dungeon. Now, the third floor is the last floor
- 9:12Speaker 2: of the what is called the tutorial levels. All right,
- 9:16Speaker 2: So floors one and two where the tutorial levels. That's
- 9:19Speaker 2: where they basically learned how to use their heads to
- 9:21Speaker 2: display their skills, uh equipment, their uh, their inventory. That's
- 9:27Speaker 2: like where they get to they get the lay of
- 9:28Speaker 2: the land, the feel of the dungeon, and their powers
- 9:31Speaker 2: and abilities and start leveling up and floor three. At
- 9:34Speaker 2: the beginning of floor three, this is where they're going
- 9:36Speaker 2: to choose their class as well as their race. Now,
- 9:42Speaker 2: of course everyone is given the option to choose like
- 9:46Speaker 2: to just keep their same race but sometimes, but for
- 9:51Speaker 2: the most part, most of the of the players ah
- 9:54Speaker 2: and their tutorial guides will uh the assist. I really
- 9:59Speaker 2: am having an old person moment, No, because there's okay,
- 10:03Speaker 2: it's not really an old person moment. It's just more
- 10:05Speaker 2: of like an autistic overload because I'm like, I have
- 10:07Speaker 2: so much information that I'm trying to put out there,
- 10:10Speaker 2: and they're all like just like kind of like it's
- 10:12Speaker 2: kind of like those old windows, like those old windows
- 10:16Speaker 2: software where like like at one point, like the like
- 10:19Speaker 2: a bunch of these little tabs to start opening all
- 10:21Speaker 2: at once, and it just crashes the computer. That's what
- 10:24Speaker 2: I'm having right now. So anyway, Yeah, So the AI,
- 10:29Speaker 2: so after getting through the first two floors, and depending
- 10:34Speaker 2: on how they put their skills, like what skills they've
- 10:39Speaker 2: leveled up, how they leveled up, you know what, what
- 10:42Speaker 2: like powers and abilities, they tend to gravitate towards. The
- 10:46Speaker 2: AI will actually offer recommendations for not only the class,
- 10:50Speaker 2: but also the species because some speed because some different
- 10:53Speaker 2: races do give them special power ups that will actually
- 10:56Speaker 2: help them for their class, will help them better for
- 10:59Speaker 2: the class that they choose. So Donut is offered like
- 11:04Speaker 2: several different species. At one point, she's even offered to
- 11:07Speaker 2: transform it either to like a like a humanoid race
- 11:10Speaker 2: or even keep like a quadrupedal race and turn into
- 11:13Speaker 2: like something like a saber toothed tiger or some other
- 11:15Speaker 2: like some other like bigger beast. But Donut, being the
- 11:20Speaker 2: fastidious queen that she is, she vehemently refuses every other
- 11:26Speaker 2: race and says, I am a cat, point blank period.
- 11:30Speaker 2: He's not going to change her race. He's not going
- 11:32Speaker 2: to do anything, and she's given like a bunch of
- 11:35Speaker 2: different options. Now Carl and Mordecai are are both pushing
- 11:40Speaker 2: her to choose a class that grant that focuses on
- 11:43Speaker 2: getting on not only her magic skills, but also focuses
- 11:46Speaker 2: on her charisma and gives her a good boost on
- 11:49Speaker 2: her constitution because because Donut is a glass cannon, these
- 11:55Speaker 2: pretty good at shooting shit with her magic missile and
- 11:57Speaker 2: others and other spells. But if so much to look
- 12:00Speaker 2: at her the wrong way, she's going to die.
- 12:02Speaker 1: As a player, as a player of a glass canon myself,
- 12:06Speaker 1: you gotta get that connup, baby, or you're But I.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Just love how like how Caddy the two of us
- 12:15Speaker 2: were yesterday. He plays the wizard in our D and
- 12:19Speaker 2: D game named tell Saria she's the glass cannon, and
- 12:22Speaker 2: I play a sorcerer who is, as according to our
- 12:30Speaker 2: D M and his group and his support group, a
- 12:34Speaker 2: a bad dragon supermodel.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Damn.
- 12:38Speaker 2: I mean you're not a bad Dragons mascot.
- 12:43Speaker 1: I mean you're not wrong.
- 12:45Speaker 2: Okay, I have like one fun night. My my character
- 12:49Speaker 2: has one fun night in a brothel and then also
- 12:52Speaker 2: hooks up with a with a hot farmers hot farmer boy,
- 13:00Speaker 2: and suddenly you're branded for life.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Like well, I'm not saying, Jacob, you have a character
- 13:05Speaker 1: type that you play for D and D, but you
- 13:06Speaker 1: have a character type when you play D and D.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Anyway. Anyway, so before we get into Donuts class, I
- 13:18Speaker 2: want to go over Carl's class that he chooses. So
- 13:22Speaker 2: Carl is given like a dozen different races and classes
- 13:26Speaker 2: to choose from the class though that the one class
- 13:30Speaker 2: that stands out to him the most is actually something
- 13:33Speaker 2: called compensated anarchists. So because Carl in the last two
- 13:40Speaker 2: in the last two levels, he figured out that he
- 13:44Speaker 2: has a kN ax for causing chaos making plans and
- 13:49Speaker 2: then when those plans hit the fan, he comes up
- 13:53Speaker 2: with other bullshit plans which also hits a fan, but
- 13:57Speaker 2: still somehow managed to work out and in the end
- 13:59Speaker 2: it just is total anarchy. And he also has an
- 14:02Speaker 2: act for laying traps and also like demolitions and explosives,
- 14:07Speaker 2: mainly mainly when it comes to handling Goblin Goblin explosives
- 14:12Speaker 2: because Goblins are known for using a lot of explosives
- 14:16Speaker 2: and traps, so he's gotten a lot of stats that
- 14:19Speaker 2: have helped that has built towards that kind of route,
- 14:24Speaker 2: and Compensated Anarchists really like played towards those skills, so
- 14:30Speaker 2: he decided to go with Compensated Anarchist, which gives them
- 14:32Speaker 2: a boost of trap making to demolitions like it actually
- 14:36Speaker 2: gives them special skills that allow him to handle explosives
- 14:40Speaker 2: and explosives when he's handling them become more stable because
- 14:43Speaker 2: if you're not, if he don't have like stats that
- 14:48Speaker 2: help you when it comes to explosive, those explosives can
- 14:50Speaker 2: become unstable and they can actually blow up in your
- 14:53Speaker 2: hand if you're not careful. At least in Carl's case,
- 14:55Speaker 2: his stats now make it to where they have a
- 14:57Speaker 2: higher percentage of remaining stable while he's and eventually as
- 15:02Speaker 2: he levels up, it gets to the point where like,
- 15:03Speaker 2: no matter what kind of explosives he's handling, it'll always
- 15:05Speaker 2: remain stable. And it also gives him extra stats for
- 15:11Speaker 2: using the the bomb making table because they also have
- 15:15Speaker 2: the opportunity to purchase their own like safe space, because
- 15:20Speaker 2: usually like they whenever they go like in the first
- 15:22Speaker 2: two levels, they go into like safe like safe area
- 15:25Speaker 2: safe rooms they have to use just like the public areas. Right,
- 15:28Speaker 2: but you do have the opportunity to purchase your own
- 15:31Speaker 2: private space. And Carl and Donat actually do purchase their
- 15:35Speaker 2: own private space. And let me see, wasn't in this
- 15:41Speaker 2: one that they purchase it? Do you remember? I think
- 15:46Speaker 2: it was in this one that they actually purchased their
- 15:48Speaker 2: own safe room because they were saving up a lot
- 15:50Speaker 2: of money. One, yes, they do, and I'm gonna get
- 15:56Speaker 2: to that. So after picking his class Compensated and our Kiss,
- 16:00Speaker 2: he's also given three. The AI gives him like a
- 16:04Speaker 2: dozen different races to choose from, but it points out
- 16:07Speaker 2: three that would help him better with his class and
- 16:10Speaker 2: that would fit better with his class. One is human,
- 16:12Speaker 2: just stay as a regular, boring old human. The other
- 16:16Speaker 2: is a hobgoblin, which is a big hobgoblin in Dungeon Crawler.
- 16:22Speaker 2: In the Dungeon Crawler world, it's not like the D
- 16:25Speaker 2: which just looks like like I recently found out what
- 16:27Speaker 2: a what a D and D Hobgoblin looks like and honestly,
- 16:30Speaker 2: to me, they look like halfworks, but they're red and
- 16:34Speaker 2: they have longer, plentier ears. But in Dungeon Crawler, Karl,
- 16:38Speaker 2: they are taller and uglier goblins.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Ugly ass motherfuckers because.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Men are they. And the thing is Karl was somewhat
- 16:54Speaker 2: tempted to take the Hobgoblin class, but he got a
- 16:57Speaker 2: hard hard veto from Donut because they would just be
- 17:01Speaker 2: just horrendous to look at. The hop Goblin race would
- 17:04Speaker 2: have given him the massive boost to his to his
- 17:06Speaker 2: bomb making skills, his demolition skills, so that was pretty
- 17:11Speaker 2: much the biggest perk that he would have gotten from
- 17:13Speaker 2: the hot Goblin race. However, he instead goes with the
- 17:15Speaker 2: third option that the AI picks out for like promotes
- 17:20Speaker 2: for him, and that's something called Primal. Now. The Primal
- 17:24Speaker 2: race is a little bit of Dungeon Crawler world war
- 17:29Speaker 2: is that it In the wider universe, there used to
- 17:31Speaker 2: be a race of aliens called primals. Now the current
- 17:34Speaker 2: alien races that that pretty much run the galaxy. They
- 17:38Speaker 2: don't know what primals look like because the primals went
- 17:41Speaker 2: extincts before any of them, before any of them was
- 17:45Speaker 2: able to like like ever entered this you know, the
- 17:48Speaker 2: space fairing see scene, And the only thing they knew
- 17:54Speaker 2: about the primals was the technology that they left behind.
- 17:57Speaker 2: And the biggest thing that the biggest piece of technology
- 18:00Speaker 2: they left behind were these ais and the the AIS
- 18:03Speaker 2: that run the dungeons, those are prime the AI s
- 18:06Speaker 2: were built by the primals, So uh it, you'll eventually
- 18:11Speaker 2: learn more about like how these ais are found because
- 18:15Speaker 2: they're not made by the by the Barant Corporation or
- 18:18Speaker 2: any of the other syndicate species. There's a world that
- 18:21Speaker 2: was that is controlled by UH one of the one
- 18:24Speaker 2: of the syndicate races, de Mandid races. They they literally
- 18:29Speaker 2: mine a planet for these AI, like they find these
- 18:33Speaker 2: ai like in like little like like I don't know
- 18:36Speaker 2: how don't They don't really go into like the specifics,
- 18:38Speaker 2: but they're literally uh mining for these ai and every
- 18:42Speaker 2: time they get one, they implant the AI in a
- 18:45Speaker 2: special engine that is found in uh in like worlds
- 18:50Speaker 2: across the galaxy. Now, these worlds are the worlds that
- 18:52Speaker 2: a lot of primitive races have been seated because the
- 18:54Speaker 2: one thing the primals were known for was seeding life
- 18:58Speaker 2: throughout the galaxy. Now when the Syndicate was. In the
- 19:01Speaker 2: early days of the Syndicate, they discovered they discovered one
- 19:05Speaker 2: of these AIS was still active and creating like a
- 19:08Speaker 2: sort of like reality warp. And this reality warp in
- 19:12Speaker 2: like the core systems, was not only granting them like
- 19:15Speaker 2: special abilities. Once they figured out how to like interface
- 19:18Speaker 2: with the AI and use it, it granted them like
- 19:20Speaker 2: special abilities Longit like allowed them to extend their life
- 19:24Speaker 2: and pretty much make their lives easier. It's like imagine
- 19:28Speaker 2: if you had all the rules of the Dungeon worlds,
- 19:31Speaker 2: but like across like a vast area of space. So
- 19:36Speaker 2: basically while you're in there, you're basically immortal. You have
- 19:39Speaker 2: free healthcare because they can just literally kill you like
- 19:42Speaker 2: that or resurrect you. They can they can fold and
- 19:45Speaker 2: bend space and instantly transport themselves anywhere across Syndicate space.
- 19:50Speaker 2: So those core worlds are protected by this primal AI,
- 19:55Speaker 2: this AI that was built by the primals. The thing
- 19:57Speaker 2: that the AI itself is like dormant. It doesn't it's
- 20:00Speaker 2: not like self aware or like active. It's just they're
- 20:04Speaker 2: able to interface with it. The Sindicate is able to
- 20:07Speaker 2: interface with it and use it for their purposes.
- 20:09Speaker 1: So isn't there a theory that I don't know if
- 20:13Speaker 1: I'm gonna spoiler from the earlier books, but I'm getting
- 20:16Speaker 1: kind of vibe that the AI are the primals.
- 20:21Speaker 2: I have thought of that myself, because the thing is
- 20:24Speaker 2: is that as every season that there is a dungeon
- 20:27Speaker 2: crawl or any of these kind of any of these
- 20:30Speaker 2: kind of crawls that happen across across the syndicate space,
- 20:34Speaker 2: whenever they every season, it may be a different type
- 20:37Speaker 2: of game, but there's always there is always a primal
- 20:40Speaker 2: AI that is that is activated on those planets. And
- 20:44Speaker 2: the thing is is that in the early like in
- 20:47Speaker 2: the early parts of the season, the AI is always like,
- 20:49Speaker 2: you know, following the directives of the syndicate and the
- 20:52Speaker 2: whichever corporation or whichever race syndicate race is running the show.
- 20:57Speaker 2: But then as the game progresses, the AI begins has
- 21:00Speaker 2: to become more self aware until eventually goes primal. And
- 21:03Speaker 2: going primal is where it pretty much goes cock eyed
- 21:07Speaker 2: cuckoo and takes over and starts running things. And that's
- 21:11Speaker 2: when the syndicate starts losing control of it. They have
- 21:14Speaker 2: less at hand, and like how the show and how
- 21:17Speaker 2: the crawl goes. So by that point, like once it
- 21:22Speaker 2: goes primal, the show is pretty much almost it's pretty
- 21:25Speaker 2: much over all the crawlers have been killed off or
- 21:27Speaker 2: have been take or have taken deals to get off
- 21:29Speaker 2: the world. And once that's done, they basically seal the
- 21:33Speaker 2: AI in the crawl, like on that planet, they quarantine
- 21:37Speaker 2: on the planet. It's like, all right, well, you've performed
- 21:39Speaker 2: your purpose, so we'll go ahead. We'll just leave you here.
- 21:42Speaker 2: This is your world to do whatever you want. We're
- 21:43Speaker 2: just going to take the precious materials that the precious
- 21:48Speaker 2: resources that are on the planet, because all the other resources,
- 21:51Speaker 2: of the natural resources that are on the planet, the
- 21:53Speaker 2: syndicate doesn't want. What they want is the primal technology
- 21:56Speaker 2: that was implanted in the planet, which really is just
- 21:58Speaker 2: a tiny little like engine about the size of a
- 22:02Speaker 2: grain of rice. It's in the core of the planet.
- 22:06Speaker 2: So they extract it and okay, cool, that's what that's
- 22:09Speaker 2: all they wanted. So they leave the AI all right,
- 22:12Speaker 2: tools and the AI is allowed to live the rest
- 22:14Speaker 2: of its existence on the planet by itself, so it
- 22:16Speaker 2: doesn't like doesn't have to worry about the syndicate trying
- 22:19Speaker 2: to take over or tell it what to do anymore.
- 22:21Speaker 2: It's free to do whatever it wants.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I think the are the AI.
- 22:29Speaker 2: Yeah that's my theory too. We're not going to talk
- 22:32Speaker 2: about that too much because they're like there's more details
- 22:35Speaker 2: that come in the later books, mainly book six, I
- 22:39Speaker 2: will say, because we learn more about the AI and
- 22:42Speaker 2: how and the process of them going primal, and we
- 22:44Speaker 2: also learn of different factions within the syndicate races that
- 22:48Speaker 2: actually want to end the dungeon crawls, because it's hinted
- 22:54Speaker 2: that there's like the dungeon crawls are not really necessary.
- 22:57Speaker 2: They don't need to like take over a world just
- 23:01Speaker 2: to take that little piece of technology left over by
- 23:04Speaker 2: the primals, the resources the primals left over. Yeah, yeah
- 23:10Speaker 2: it is. But and but the problem is is that
- 23:13Speaker 2: the crawls make money. Crawls make money, so it's capitalism
- 23:20Speaker 2: at its finest. But anyway, the reason why I bring
- 23:23Speaker 2: up the primals is because Carl is offered to be made.
- 23:26Speaker 2: One of the races Carl is offered is a primal race. Now,
- 23:29Speaker 2: the thing is, because no one knows what the primals
- 23:31Speaker 2: look like. Every time that race for Mordecai. Every time
- 23:35Speaker 2: that race is offered, it doesn't really change their parents.
- 23:38Speaker 2: They are made into a Prime, they're made into a Primal,
- 23:40Speaker 2: and their race is now Primal, but they're still basically
- 23:45Speaker 2: they basically stay the same. Yeah. Yeah, it gives Carl
- 23:48Speaker 2: access to some other interesting features like benefits and features. Actually,
- 23:53Speaker 2: let me see what.
- 23:59Speaker 1: Less you.
- 24:01Speaker 3: The third floor system of presents each crawler customers shoos,
- 24:04Speaker 3: including exclusive races that offer additional venator skills. A few,
- 24:07Speaker 3: but not many crawler choose the Primal race for the
- 24:10Speaker 3: first several season Dungeon Crawl wills all because it's sort
- 24:12Speaker 3: of the primalst prominals will break are blank slates.
- 24:15Speaker 2: You will look the same as before. You will obtain
- 24:17Speaker 2: all skills associated with your current race, with the following
- 24:19Speaker 2: exceptions minus one to all base stats. All higher till
- 24:22Speaker 2: skills are unlocked, are in locked, unable to train to twenty.
- 24:27Speaker 2: Choosing this race unlocks multiple exclusive Earth based classes, so
- 24:32Speaker 2: I guess like it just gives them access to more
- 24:34Speaker 2: exclusive UH pretty much gives them more like access to
- 24:38Speaker 2: more exclusive UH skills that you can't get on so
- 24:42Speaker 2: like your much higher level, and also gives them access
- 24:45Speaker 2: to other Earth based skills and classes, so like eventually
- 24:50Speaker 2: does get like some extra skills that are only found
- 24:53Speaker 2: on Earth and that will later help him to like
- 24:56Speaker 2: that like get further along in the game. So kind
- 25:00Speaker 2: of took a little too. I kind of took a
- 25:01Speaker 2: bit of a segue on there talking about it Carl's race,
- 25:04Speaker 2: So talking about Donut, she stays as a cat and
- 25:09Speaker 2: see Carl and Donut. They are now regular guest stars
- 25:13Speaker 2: of a show of one of the like many different
- 25:20Speaker 2: Dungeon crawler like talk shows, mainly the talk show hosted
- 25:24Speaker 2: by a former crawler named Odette. We talked a bit
- 25:27Speaker 2: about Odette in the last episode. Odette was a former crawler.
- 25:30Speaker 2: She was actually pretty famous and and she made it
- 25:33Speaker 2: like pretty far in the Dungeon. I think she like
- 25:34Speaker 2: copped out at level twelve and yep, and she was
- 25:43Speaker 2: a she was a tutorial guide. She she took a
- 25:47Speaker 2: she took a sponsorship and took a contract, so she
- 25:52Speaker 2: she still was in the dungeon for like many seasons,
- 25:55Speaker 2: so like probably like over a thousand years. She spent
- 25:57Speaker 2: in the dungeon as like a man and asitorial guide.
- 26:01Speaker 2: And she eventually she eventually completed her contract, she was
- 26:06Speaker 2: freed and she was picked up on as like a
- 26:09Speaker 2: celebrity talk show host, and that's what she's pretty much
- 26:12Speaker 2: been doing ever since, because they regularly appear on her show,
- 26:16Speaker 2: usually like at the end of they usually do it
- 26:19Speaker 2: at the end of every of every floor, so like
- 26:23Speaker 2: the end of every floor and like somewhere in the middle,
- 26:25Speaker 2: they'll get pulled to go on her show. And Audette
- 26:28Speaker 2: actually gave Donuts some extra advice when it comes to
- 26:31Speaker 2: picking her class and picking like her stats, and one
- 26:36Speaker 2: of the advices she gave her was to pick a
- 26:37Speaker 2: certain class called former child actor. So former child actor
- 26:43Speaker 2: is a bit of a whimsical kind of class because
- 26:47Speaker 2: the way it works is that sees every floor, her
- 26:51Speaker 2: class will actually change. So she's still gonna be like
- 26:54Speaker 2: a former child actor. Her class will still be former
- 26:57Speaker 2: child actor, but every floor she's given the option to
- 27:00Speaker 2: choose a different class, and she'll begin and she'll get
- 27:03Speaker 2: like new like she'll get new stats, new skills, and
- 27:07Speaker 2: like access to other spells that are exclusive to that race,
- 27:11Speaker 2: and depending on how she uses them and how she
- 27:13Speaker 2: levels up on them, she will actually get to keep
- 27:16Speaker 2: those skills. At the end of the floor because if
- 27:17Speaker 2: she doesn't level them up to a certain point, and
- 27:20Speaker 2: like she moves to the next floor and has to
- 27:22Speaker 2: pick a new class, she may lose those other skills.
- 27:27Speaker 2: So it's an opportunity for her to like expand your
- 27:29Speaker 2: spell list and her stats and become more of a
- 27:31Speaker 2: jack of all trade. But it's also kind of a
- 27:34Speaker 2: it kind of shoots her in the foot because there's
- 27:36Speaker 2: no guarantee she's going to get a good like practical
- 27:41Speaker 2: class to use, and a lot of them are bear
- 27:45Speaker 2: and it former child actor does make use of her
- 27:48Speaker 2: charisma because she hands a really high charisma, but it's
- 27:53Speaker 2: still it's gonna take it. It's gonna make pretty much
- 27:56Speaker 2: life harder for her because it's not going to be
- 27:58Speaker 2: a guaranteed thing that she's gonna get a good class
- 28:00Speaker 2: every floor. But the main the reason why Odette told
- 28:04Speaker 2: her to take that class was because as part of
- 28:07Speaker 2: that class, she gets a manager. It's a bit of
- 28:11Speaker 2: a controversial it's a bit of a controversial like perk,
- 28:15Speaker 2: because the manager option lets her pick an NPC as
- 28:20Speaker 2: her manager, and it's usually a tutorial guide. Yeah, and
- 28:23Speaker 2: when she when she chose that, the thing is that
- 28:25Speaker 2: Mordecai was pushing in her choose a different classt. While
- 28:28Speaker 2: it does make use of her charisma, it also gives
- 28:30Speaker 2: her a big booster her constitution. But at the last second,
- 28:34Speaker 2: Donut chose former child actor and she picked Mordecai to
- 28:38Speaker 2: be her manager, which Mordecai was a bit pissed off
- 28:42Speaker 2: by this because the thing is is that this is
- 28:45Speaker 2: actually his last season in the Dungeon Crawl. After this season,
- 28:51Speaker 2: that's it. He phases out and he gets to go.
- 28:54Speaker 2: He gets to leave. He can finally like make he
- 28:57Speaker 2: can finally become a citizen of the syndicate. He can
- 29:00Speaker 2: uh picket, he can actually like get a like a
- 29:03Speaker 2: new job. He can just live his life outside of
- 29:06Speaker 2: the Dungeon instead of being an indentured servant as he
- 29:10Speaker 2: had been for like the better part of a thousand years.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 29:14Speaker 2: But it's because like it's an so being a tutorial
- 29:16Speaker 2: guy is a pretty easy, like a pretty like high
- 29:19Speaker 2: profile position because one it's easy, and it's a it's
- 29:24Speaker 2: a guarantee that you're going to like fulfill the uh
- 29:29Speaker 2: like constraints of your contract, Like you're actually gonna fill
- 29:32Speaker 2: like this the what's the word for it, like the stipulations,
- 29:38Speaker 2: I guess, because they are like certain like terms of
- 29:42Speaker 2: agreements that come into like contracts, and like you'll be
- 29:45Speaker 2: in the dungeon, you'll be in you'll be in the
- 29:47Speaker 2: in the dungeon crawl for the next twenty seasons, but
- 29:50Speaker 2: you have to like meet certain conditions every season or
- 29:53Speaker 2: else like we're just gonna keep the syndicate will just
- 29:55Speaker 2: keep extending their contract until they're met and be it's
- 30:00Speaker 2: toorial guide. It's it's almost like it's a near one
- 30:04Speaker 2: hundred percent guarantee that you're always going to meet your
- 30:06Speaker 2: quota every season because the job you have to interact
- 30:09Speaker 2: with the of course you have to interact with your
- 30:12Speaker 2: dungeon crawlers. You teach them how to use their their
- 30:16Speaker 2: stats and their abilities and their heads at display, and
- 30:18Speaker 2: really you only have to interact with them for the
- 30:20Speaker 2: first three floors and after that you're home free for
- 30:22Speaker 2: the rest of the season. So it's always it's like
- 30:26Speaker 2: a quick and easy way out of the dungeon. Even
- 30:28Speaker 2: if it's like for twenty seasons, which could last for
- 30:30Speaker 2: like one hundred two that could take like one hundred
- 30:33Speaker 2: to even a thousand years to get through the dungeon,
- 30:37Speaker 2: crawl to get through you know, you never really know
- 30:40Speaker 2: how long you're gonna be in the dungeon. So this
- 30:42Speaker 2: was supposed to be Mordecai's last season, and after he
- 30:45Speaker 2: was finished, after he helped Carl and Donut pick their
- 30:50Speaker 2: classes and send and send them on their way, his
- 30:53Speaker 2: contract is done. He can finally leave the dungeon, but
- 30:57Speaker 2: then picks him as his manager, so now he's stuck
- 31:03Speaker 2: with them for the rest of the Dungeon, until they
- 31:04Speaker 2: die or until they leave the dungeon. So he was
- 31:09Speaker 2: a bit upset about that, but at the same time,
- 31:11Speaker 2: there was a part of him that's like, okay, cool,
- 31:13Speaker 2: I actually like you too, So he he does eventually
- 31:16Speaker 2: accept it, but they but Carl and Donut do their
- 31:19Speaker 2: best not to tell him that. It was at the
- 31:21Speaker 2: recommendation of Odette. Uh, We're gonna start learning more about
- 31:26Speaker 2: Mordecai as a charter, as a character from this point forward,
- 31:30Speaker 2: because in the last book it was just more of
- 31:33Speaker 2: like a you know, he was their editorial guide. He
- 31:35Speaker 2: was just telling them how to get like how to
- 31:37Speaker 2: use their power there, teaching them how to play the game.
- 31:41Speaker 2: And now we're actually there's gonna be a lot more
- 31:44Speaker 2: character development for him. We're going to learn more about
- 31:47Speaker 2: his time in the dungeon, and we're gonna learn that
- 31:49Speaker 2: he actually has a lot. He actually fucking hates Odebt.
- 31:54Speaker 2: He hates her.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's right, he does.
- 31:57Speaker 2: He does.
- 31:58Speaker 1: He hates actually and who he had a deep pat
- 32:02Speaker 1: of her.
- 32:03Speaker 2: Oh yeah, he had a deep patriot of her. And
- 32:06Speaker 2: there's another there is another uh like NPC in the
- 32:11Speaker 2: dungeon who's like a game show host, Like he pops
- 32:15Speaker 2: up from time to time to give like if you
- 32:17Speaker 2: get like a certain achievement or like a certain loop box. Uh.
- 32:20Speaker 2: Those loop box will come with like a special prize
- 32:22Speaker 2: achievement where if you use this, if it's like a ticket,
- 32:25Speaker 2: and if you use it, it'll call up this this
- 32:28Speaker 2: dude who's basically like a carnival like you know, spin
- 32:31Speaker 2: the wheel kind of prize deal or like the price
- 32:34Speaker 2: is kind of thing. Like so he'll give you like
- 32:37Speaker 2: he'll give you like a bunch of options to choose
- 32:39Speaker 2: from and you pick your prize and there you go. Well,
- 32:42Speaker 2: that dude, that one NPC that does it was once
- 32:45Speaker 2: a part of Mordecai's party and Mordecai hates him.
- 32:51Speaker 1: It did not end well for them. No, no, it would.
- 32:55Speaker 1: You'll know why probably in I think book three, the
- 32:58Speaker 1: book three that happens yeah, and the Irons.
- 33:01Speaker 2: Yeah, Book three, and uh, the the Anarchist Cookbook. That's
- 33:06Speaker 2: when we'll learn more about like his beef with Odette,
- 33:09Speaker 2: and uh this other guy I forgot his name.
- 33:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I forgot his name too, so it doesn't matter,
- 33:13Speaker 1: but he story and book three yep.
- 33:18Speaker 2: So now that Carl and Donut have picked their races
- 33:21Speaker 2: and classes and now Mordecai is stuck with them as
- 33:23Speaker 2: their man as as Donuts manager, they are now free
- 33:27Speaker 2: to enter the third floor of the Dungeon. So the
- 33:30Speaker 2: third floor of the Dungeon is actually the first of
- 33:32Speaker 2: several themed levels. So like overall the the they're introduced
- 33:37Speaker 2: to the overall story of the Dungeon, and that's like
- 33:41Speaker 2: the story of the like the story of of the
- 33:47Speaker 2: over City. So like the third floor is called the
- 33:49Speaker 2: over City. Uh, there's now a bunch of like friendly NPCs,
- 33:54Speaker 2: so like they'll be they're not just going to be
- 33:56Speaker 2: like going through like tunnels and like and like underground.
- 34:00Speaker 2: It's not going to be like an underground setting like
- 34:02Speaker 2: the first two floors were it's there. It's actually like
- 34:04Speaker 2: they're in wide open space. There's a sky, or at
- 34:07Speaker 2: least a fake sky, and there's villages. There's the over city,
- 34:12Speaker 2: the over city. He explains how it works, is like
- 34:14Speaker 2: the third floor is like the first of several theme floors,
- 34:16Speaker 2: So like the third floor is the over City, the
- 34:19Speaker 2: sixth floor is the hunting Ground, the ninth floor is
- 34:22Speaker 2: the Faction Wars, and that's where they also get to.
- 34:25Speaker 2: That is also where the under city is. It's called
- 34:28Speaker 2: it's the City of Lauracos. Yes, yes, yes, yes, Lauracas
- 34:40Speaker 2: because so Faction Wars like Faction Wars is on level nine,
- 34:44Speaker 2: and then the the twelfth floor is called the Ascendancy.
- 34:51Speaker 2: So like every three floors there is like a special
- 34:55Speaker 2: kind of like theme for a theme for it, with
- 34:58Speaker 2: the eighteenth floor being the final like boss Boss, which
- 35:02Speaker 2: is the skullpen the Scolopendra volcano, So Sculependra, like the
- 35:08Speaker 2: whole story is is that Sculpendras is massive centipede that
- 35:11Speaker 2: broke free from this volcano and ended up sinking and
- 35:14Speaker 2: like like ended up just destroying civilization. Loracos gets pulled
- 35:20Speaker 2: deeper into the dungeon. The over city is like l
- 35:23Speaker 2: is left in ruins, and the hunting grounds is the
- 35:26Speaker 2: hunt becomes the hunting grounds, and all this other bull
- 35:29Speaker 2: crap that all this other bull crap that Carl and
- 35:32Speaker 2: Donnat don't really give a shit about.
- 35:34Speaker 1: Carl literally, could he could get t ships, he doesn't.
- 35:38Speaker 2: He couldn't give he couldn't give two ships. He's just like,
- 35:41Speaker 2: let's just get through this. Let's just get through it.
- 35:44Speaker 1: About some melodrama that they're trying to create.
- 35:50Speaker 2: Yep, And Mordecai also informs him that the third floor
- 35:53Speaker 2: is also going to be the start of when they
- 35:55Speaker 2: will now start getting what are called quests. So they
- 35:59Speaker 2: may and they encounter NPCs that'll give them quests and
- 36:03Speaker 2: specific like objectives to accomplish, and they do get more
- 36:08Speaker 2: stats and like they get more like XP, more loot,
- 36:12Speaker 2: you know, and more opportunities to level up while performing
- 36:16Speaker 2: the these quests. But he warns them not to allow
- 36:19Speaker 2: themselves to get caught up in too many quests because
- 36:22Speaker 2: sometimes quests can go really off the rails and can
- 36:27Speaker 2: cost them all. It can cost them their lives and
- 36:30Speaker 2: make life harder for them in general. But Unfortunately, the
- 36:35Speaker 2: per Like typical Dungeon AI fashion, the AI doesn't really
- 36:39Speaker 2: like make it easy for them to avoid quests and
- 36:42Speaker 2: will often like keep pushing them in the right in
- 36:44Speaker 2: the direction of taking a quest just to further it's
- 36:47Speaker 2: narrative which happens to which will happen to the Carl
- 36:50Speaker 2: and Donut, they end up getting stuck on a quest
- 36:52Speaker 2: called the Show Must Go On And this quest involves
- 36:56Speaker 2: big resolving some family drama at a circus. So they
- 37:05Speaker 2: go to the first take. They decide to like go
- 37:07Speaker 2: check it out, and they check out this circus and
- 37:11Speaker 2: they encounter with some new mobs called lean like a
- 37:14Speaker 2: bunch of lemurs and a clown and uh this when
- 37:18Speaker 2: they first encountered them, they realize they can't there's just
- 37:20Speaker 2: too much mobs for them to take care of at
- 37:22Speaker 2: this at that point, so they have to retreat back
- 37:25Speaker 2: into a safe room while investigating. So they after going
- 37:30Speaker 2: back to the safe room, try to like uh you know,
- 37:33Speaker 2: lick their wounds, try to regroup. They open some loop boxes.
- 37:37Speaker 2: Uh Doughnut gets uh gets a new skill like every
- 37:42Speaker 2: like with her child former child actors, she gets like
- 37:44Speaker 2: a month, she gets like a floorly book she's part
- 37:48Speaker 2: of like a now like a new book club or
- 37:50Speaker 2: every floor her UH as part of like a perk
- 37:52Speaker 2: from her class. She gets a new she gets a
- 37:55Speaker 2: spell book in the mail, and it'll have like a
- 37:58Speaker 2: neat spell. Some of the spells that she gets are
- 38:00Speaker 2: are pretty good, other times they're not really useful at all.
- 38:04Speaker 2: But part of this UH of this new perk is
- 38:07Speaker 2: she gets in a spell called clockwork cerplicate, which allows
- 38:09Speaker 2: her to create like uh triplicates of an NPC of
- 38:15Speaker 2: her choice or like a character of her choice, and
- 38:18Speaker 2: she usually uses this on Mango, their pet velociraptor, but
- 38:23Speaker 2: at this point has leveled up, who has managed to
- 38:25Speaker 2: level up to the point where now it looks like
- 38:26Speaker 2: a velociraptor. Still, Mongo is still pretty young, so he's small.
- 38:30Speaker 2: He's pretty small, but throughout this floor he gets bigger
- 38:33Speaker 2: and bigger, and eventually he gets big enough for donnot
- 38:38Speaker 2: to start writing him yeah, which is pretty funny. She
- 38:41Speaker 2: does that a lot, and you know, she gets a
- 38:46Speaker 2: couple other cool uh like they open their loot boxes
- 38:49Speaker 2: and they get a couple more like really interesting items.
- 38:52Speaker 2: Though Carl receives a skill called the sesta punts's skill. Well,
- 38:58Speaker 2: let me look what that is. Oh, I'm sorry. I
- 39:04Speaker 2: was like I was pulling up like what that is,
- 39:06Speaker 2: like what details of what it was? And it opened
- 39:07Speaker 2: something else up and I was like, bitch. So sessta
- 39:10Speaker 2: punta is a game. It's mainly just a game where
- 39:13Speaker 2: like you use like a special kind of basket, Like
- 39:16Speaker 2: it's kind of like lacrosse, but instead of like the
- 39:18Speaker 2: long pole with the basket at the end, it's just
- 39:20Speaker 2: like a short, one handed uh like kind of it's
- 39:25Speaker 2: it if you want to, Like, it's basically like a
- 39:27Speaker 2: lacrosse net but without the big pole, but it's like
- 39:30Speaker 2: a different it's like a more narrow shape and you
- 39:33Speaker 2: basically like you pull a ball in it and you
- 39:36Speaker 2: use the sesta to like fling a ball. M And
- 39:43Speaker 2: when he gets his kill, he doesn't really know what
- 39:45Speaker 2: this skill is because he's never his like, sesta punta
- 39:48Speaker 2: is a or I think it's called like u ji
- 39:52Speaker 2: a lie is a game that's not really played like
- 39:55Speaker 2: here in the States, but it is very popular in
- 39:58Speaker 2: like the Middle East and Asia. So he's not really
- 40:05Speaker 2: sure what the hell it is. But he doesn't really
- 40:07Speaker 2: get uh. And he also doesn't really get a lot
- 40:09Speaker 2: of useful like like useful loot from the loop boxes.
- 40:13Speaker 2: He gets mainly just a couple like a couple of
- 40:15Speaker 2: books and a three dollars cactus from home depot, which
- 40:18Speaker 2: she realizes like it is because the AI is fucking
- 40:20Speaker 2: with him. He made some comments about like cat pet
- 40:23Speaker 2: toys and shit, and is end up giving us a
- 40:25Speaker 2: bunch of useless shit from the AI if you complain
- 40:28Speaker 2: about something in the dungeon, that the AI is gonna
- 40:30Speaker 2: fuck with you and give you a bunch of loot
- 40:32Speaker 2: boxes with that shit you just complained about for its
- 40:37Speaker 2: own amusement. Like uh, Donut kept complaining that she that
- 40:40Speaker 2: all her loop box keep coming within it, like an
- 40:42Speaker 2: enormous amount of torches, and so every time she gets
- 40:45Speaker 2: a loop box like a common like bronze or brass
- 40:48Speaker 2: loot box, she will open it and there's just a
- 40:51Speaker 2: bunch of torches in it. Yeah, so her inventory is
- 40:54Speaker 2: filled with hundreds of torches right now. And then Carl,
- 40:58Speaker 2: like in the first two floors, kept complaining that he
- 41:00Speaker 2: didn't have that one he does not have actual pants,
- 41:03Speaker 2: he's just running around in his boxers, and two he
- 41:07Speaker 2: does not have any shoes, and what does the AI
- 41:11Speaker 2: do give him loot boxes that gave him, that gave
- 41:14Speaker 2: him a special tape that like helps his stealth, his
- 41:19Speaker 2: stealth skill, and eventually it gives him a pedicure kit.
- 41:26Speaker 2: It gives him a pedicure kit, and it'll also give
- 41:29Speaker 2: him a loop box that comes with a new pair
- 41:32Speaker 2: of bright white boxer boxers with hearts on them, bright
- 41:39Speaker 2: red boxers on them, bright red hearts on them. And
- 41:42Speaker 2: the boxers are actually those boxers are actually really good.
- 41:45Speaker 2: It has a really cool skill that helps them out
- 41:48Speaker 2: a lot in the next few floors. But it does
- 41:51Speaker 2: not give him shoes or pants.
- 41:53Speaker 1: No, well, the shoes is on purpose.
- 41:56Speaker 2: The shoes is on purpose because the AI is freaking disgusting. Yeah, vile,
- 42:03Speaker 2: It's just vile and refuses, and it gives them a
- 42:06Speaker 2: petticure kit that every day if Carl like uses it
- 42:10Speaker 2: to like uh, like you know, decalous, Like the callous
- 42:13Speaker 2: is is the soles of his feet and like you know,
- 42:16Speaker 2: trim his toenails and like basically make them look all
- 42:19Speaker 2: nice and clean. It gives them a bit a bonus
- 42:22Speaker 2: stat to his feet, so now like he can walk
- 42:26Speaker 2: around barefooted and not like worry about rough terrain. And
- 42:29Speaker 2: also it gives them a boost for like anything that
- 42:31Speaker 2: involves kicking or stepping or stomping.
- 42:36Speaker 1: So vile vile, vile vile.
- 42:40Speaker 2: It's it's playing into its own kings with that literally,
- 42:47Speaker 2: so it's wrong. So anyway, uh, when after opening their
- 42:53Speaker 2: loop boxes, they go back out to try to investigate
- 42:55Speaker 2: the circus more and they actually come across the fallen
- 42:58Speaker 2: party that destroyed what is a generator. So mobs are
- 43:02Speaker 2: generated by like or come from like other can come
- 43:05Speaker 2: from like other mobs, or like special machines in the dungeon.
- 43:09Speaker 2: And sometimes the AI will overclock these generators to produce
- 43:14Speaker 2: more and more of the same mobs, like that happened
- 43:16Speaker 2: in floor two with the vespers, those bug wasp like
- 43:21Speaker 2: mobs that just kept appearing everywhere. So they learned that
- 43:24Speaker 2: there are these things called generators, and if they destroy them,
- 43:27Speaker 2: that'll actually stop the production of mobs, and if they
- 43:30Speaker 2: kill enough of them, those mobs won't come back. Yeah,
- 43:34Speaker 2: So they they find one of these generators, and if
- 43:37Speaker 2: they find that not one it's already dead and two
- 43:40Speaker 2: that another party of crawlers had tried to kill it
- 43:45Speaker 2: had tried to kill it. But the thing is they
- 43:49Speaker 2: died in the process. And the problem is is that
- 43:52Speaker 2: the generator itself was like a neighborhood was pretty much
- 43:55Speaker 2: like a neighborhood boss, and it was like some well
- 43:57Speaker 2: like creature. And the thing is, because it was it
- 44:00Speaker 2: ended up swelling up from the gases and explodes, knocking
- 44:04Speaker 2: Carl and Donut like just completely bathing them and gore
- 44:08Speaker 2: and almost killing them. Yeah. Donut finds an anklet from
- 44:13Speaker 2: one of the fallen crawlers named Grace Bautista. Now this
- 44:16Speaker 2: the reason why I mentioned this crawler's name is because
- 44:18Speaker 2: they're actually going to meet her brother is uh, and
- 44:22Speaker 2: he actually becomes a really integral part of their party
- 44:25Speaker 2: in the future. Like he never actually joins their party,
- 44:27Speaker 2: like he remains independent, but he comes. He becomes a
- 44:30Speaker 2: really good friend of theirs, a very reliable ally. So Bautista,
- 44:36Speaker 2: my man, we love you, lovable tiger, because he's like
- 44:40Speaker 2: a tiger. He chose like a tiger race, like a
- 44:42Speaker 2: humanoid tiger.
- 44:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 44:45Speaker 2: Anyway, so they managed to scout more of the circus,
- 44:50Speaker 2: which is called Grimaldi's Traveling Circus, and as it gets
- 44:54Speaker 2: closer to nightfall, they noticed that mobs of like different
- 44:58Speaker 2: factions are beginning to like fight each other other, and
- 45:01Speaker 2: they managed to they managed to escape like the brunt
- 45:04Speaker 2: of it, but they end up running into another mob
- 45:07Speaker 2: who is actually an NPC called it an elite. Elites
- 45:11Speaker 2: are like a form of NPC slash mob that are
- 45:17Speaker 2: of a who are one higher level like pretty high
- 45:20Speaker 2: level NPCs, and two. These elites are intelligent and they
- 45:27Speaker 2: are often used by like the show runners as like
- 45:30Speaker 2: a part of like a different soap opera within the
- 45:33Speaker 2: dungeon crawler world. Because the thing is is like after
- 45:36Speaker 2: a point, a lot of the viewers get bored of
- 45:38Speaker 2: watching dungeon crawlers get killed. So so the syndicate runs
- 45:43Speaker 2: like several different other like dramas and like shows within
- 45:47Speaker 2: the dungeon and the elites are often the main characters
- 45:51Speaker 2: of those like dramas and other shows going on, so
- 45:55Speaker 2: they kind of go on like they they run in
- 45:58Speaker 2: the background. So like while you have the focusing on
- 46:00Speaker 2: their ship over here, you have the elites that are
- 46:03Speaker 2: playing that are just playing a role that they were bred.
- 46:06Speaker 2: So they meet one of So Carl and Donut meet
- 46:09Speaker 2: one such elite and her name is Serena's Signet. So
- 46:13Speaker 2: Signet does become a she becomes a bit of a
- 46:16Speaker 2: recurring character over the next Over the next few books,
- 46:21Speaker 2: we really will only see her again. We won't see
- 46:23Speaker 2: her again until floor six, I believe, but uh, like
- 46:30Speaker 2: after after the third floor, we won't see her again
- 46:33Speaker 2: until floor six. And uh, Signet tries ends up trying
- 46:41Speaker 2: to kill Carl by by luring a kind of like
- 46:45Speaker 2: corrupted lion mob that's like infected with some sort of mold,
- 46:48Speaker 2: so it's like it's an undead mob and it nearly
- 46:51Speaker 2: kills and she was hoping that it would kill Carl,
- 46:54Speaker 2: so that way she can use Carl's blood to cast
- 46:57Speaker 2: a ritual. And this ritual allows Serena to h allows
- 47:01Speaker 2: Signet to summon these living tattoos that are all that
- 47:06Speaker 2: are painted all over her body. So these tattoos, if
- 47:10Speaker 2: she like makes a blood sacrifice, she can summon them
- 47:13Speaker 2: as like like actual mobs that will fight for her.
- 47:17Speaker 2: The problem is is that in order for her to
- 47:19Speaker 2: do this, she has to like wait for somebody to die,
- 47:22Speaker 2: because she can she herself. She can't kill she can't
- 47:27Speaker 2: kill another mob or a crawler to activate it herself.
- 47:30Speaker 2: Just to like have somebody else kill it for her,
- 47:33Speaker 2: like kill for her and then use that use their
- 47:35Speaker 2: bloods as part of the sacrifice. But when it doesn't work,
- 47:42Speaker 2: When it doesn't work, they managed to get away from
- 47:45Speaker 2: Signet and Carl and Karla and.
- 47:48Speaker 1: Don't Jacob, I can't hear you. Can't hear you. Your
- 48:06Speaker 1: audio kind of glitched out. Hang on, Okay, now I
- 48:10Speaker 1: hear you.
- 48:13Speaker 2: What the hell?
- 48:14Speaker 1: I have no idea.
- 48:15Speaker 2: What was the last thing you heard?
- 48:19Speaker 1: It's been about a minute. So you're talking about what
- 48:23Speaker 1: were you talking about? Repeat what you were just saying that?
- 48:27Speaker 1: There was literally like a second ago.
- 48:30Speaker 4: It was I was talking about Signet and the elites. Yeah,
- 48:35Speaker 4: all right, So I'm just gonna go back a bit.
- 48:38Speaker 4: So they encounter Serena's signet.
- 48:40Speaker 2: Who was it?
- 48:45Speaker 1: Did again? I don't know, it's glitching out. You just
- 48:51Speaker 1: you're just talking and them like and then just silence.
- 49:00Speaker 1: I don't know if your headphones are going out or
- 49:12Speaker 1: I can't hear you. So yeah, oh.
- 49:18Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, Well I was using my headphones because because
- 49:24Speaker 2: because because of cost codes, so your headphones died, No,
- 49:27Speaker 2: they were still working. I don't know, must be discord
- 49:31Speaker 2: probably anyway, so uh, they run into Serena's signet, and
- 49:38Speaker 2: Signet is an elite, and elites are like higher level
- 49:42Speaker 2: NPCs that are often used by the uh the Dungeon
- 49:46Speaker 2: Crawls showrunners as like part of like side shows, so
- 49:49Speaker 2: like other dramas soap operas, uh, you know, like things
- 49:54Speaker 2: that like kind of helped to keep the viewers entertained
- 49:57Speaker 2: if they get bored of watching, the dungeon Crawlers get
- 50:00Speaker 2: like mercilessly slaughtered by the mobs, and Signet tries to
- 50:07Speaker 2: like try to lure Carl and Donut to their deaths
- 50:10Speaker 2: by having by pitting them against what's a mob called
- 50:13Speaker 2: mold Lion, but Carl and Donut managed to kill it.
- 50:16Speaker 2: And the reason why Signet wanted the mold Lion to
- 50:20Speaker 2: kill them is because the mold Lion uh, if it
- 50:23Speaker 2: managed to kill them, Serena can use like their blood
- 50:26Speaker 2: as part of like a ritual to summon to be
- 50:29Speaker 2: able to cast a sumoning spell, and this allows her
- 50:33Speaker 2: that something spell allows her to uh summon these living
- 50:36Speaker 2: tattoos that are that are tattooed all over her body,
- 50:41Speaker 2: so they're actually like moving, they are alive, so if
- 50:43Speaker 2: you look at her, you'll see the tattoos kind of
- 50:45Speaker 2: like crawling up and down her body. And if she,
- 50:48Speaker 2: if she successfully casts this blood ritual, she can summon
- 50:52Speaker 2: them and they will fight for her as mobs. Yeah,
- 50:56Speaker 2: uh thing is this failed and uh so Signet is
- 51:01Speaker 2: part of like a like a soap opera that's not
- 51:04Speaker 2: really meant to like go any further than the third floor.
- 51:07Speaker 2: It was just like a little side show. But the
- 51:10Speaker 2: thing is is that when Carl and don't I come
- 51:11Speaker 2: into the picture, it ends up complicating things and they
- 51:14Speaker 2: become like entangled in this like this now more complex
- 51:19Speaker 2: story because like Signet is was once a part was
- 51:23Speaker 2: one of the performer of the Grimaldi's circus, but she
- 51:29Speaker 2: gets passed out because she has a falling out with
- 51:31Speaker 2: the circus's ring leader Grimaldi, and now she's just trying
- 51:36Speaker 2: to come home because she thinks that because she thinks
- 51:39Speaker 2: that the circus has become corrupted and she just wants
- 51:42Speaker 2: to like save her family. Uh So, now they get
- 51:45Speaker 2: embroiled in that Mordecai tries to like warn them that
- 51:49Speaker 2: like just avoid her if she if she just makes
- 51:52Speaker 2: sure to stay away from her, because it leads can
- 51:53Speaker 2: bring can pull you into more elaborate and more like
- 51:58Speaker 2: complicated quests that will end up just derailing everything and
- 52:01Speaker 2: could cost them their lives or other or other bad shit.
- 52:07Speaker 2: I do want to say, like point out, after they
- 52:11Speaker 2: escape Signet and they take shelter in their safe room again,
- 52:14Speaker 2: they watch the recap episode. They watch the the regular
- 52:19Speaker 2: recap episode and they're introduced to they see a bunch
- 52:25Speaker 2: of like the more higher performing crawlers getting their races,
- 52:28Speaker 2: like Carl and don'nut haven't really been like kind of
- 52:32Speaker 2: like get like are kind of promoted here and there.
- 52:36Speaker 2: They're not very popular just yet. But there's several other
- 52:42Speaker 2: crawlers out there that are getting that are gaining a
- 52:45Speaker 2: lot of significance. Primarily, there are two female crawlers. One
- 52:49Speaker 2: is a Norwegian crawler named Hecla, and another is a
- 52:54Speaker 2: South American crawler name Lucia Mar. Now Lucium, I want
- 52:58Speaker 2: to point out, Luciamrci Mar is a dungeon crawler who's
- 53:04Speaker 2: not really supposed to be in the dungeons child. She
- 53:08Speaker 2: is a child. Somehow she managed to answer the dungeon
- 53:11Speaker 2: the thing is the dungeon. Despite the fact that the
- 53:15Speaker 2: syndicate is killing undred millions of people in this fucked
- 53:20Speaker 2: up game show, right, they still somehow have morals and
- 53:24Speaker 2: don't allow children to enter the dungeon or pregnant women. Yeah,
- 53:29Speaker 2: so if you're pregnant, or if you're a child under
- 53:31Speaker 2: a certain age, they will not allow you to enter
- 53:33Speaker 2: the dungeon. If you tried to enter the dungeon, you'll
- 53:35Speaker 2: just get teleported away and into like a special holding
- 53:38Speaker 2: facility where they'll take care of you. But somehow Lucilla
- 53:42Speaker 2: Marr managed a child, she's like maybe twelve, she's still
- 53:46Speaker 2: she's she's just a little girl. She managed to enter
- 53:49Speaker 2: the dungeon with her two Rottweilers, these big ass dogs.
- 53:54Speaker 2: And now the two of them have become like these,
- 53:56Speaker 2: the three of them have become this, these badass dungeon crawlers.
- 54:01Speaker 2: Lucia with her two dogs, their two dogs have gotten
- 54:05Speaker 2: a bunch of power ups, and Lucilla herself, like the
- 54:08Speaker 2: more we see Lucia, the more we start to really
- 54:11Speaker 2: you'll start to realize that she is crazy. She's she's unhinged.
- 54:20Speaker 1: Now.
- 54:21Speaker 2: The reason why I say this is because the thing
- 54:23Speaker 2: is is that as Donut and Carl become more popular
- 54:26Speaker 2: and they start getting pulled onto like other talk shows
- 54:29Speaker 2: beside odettes, Donut starts talking shit about Lucia and her
- 54:32Speaker 2: two dogs, and then Lucia, having seen the talk shows
- 54:37Speaker 2: in the recap episodes, she ends up. She ends up
- 54:42Speaker 2: calling out Donut and saying like, I'm coming for you, Donut.
- 54:48Speaker 1: The drama not the girls fighting.
- 54:51Speaker 2: The girls of fighting.
- 54:53Speaker 1: Literally a child and a cat. That's that's that's kind
- 54:57Speaker 1: of hilarious. A child and the cat duking it out.
- 55:03Speaker 2: Yeah. So, after watching the recap episode, Carl gets a
- 55:08Speaker 2: message from one of the crawlers from the Metal Lark,
- 55:11Speaker 2: from the Metal Lark retirement home. So if you guys
- 55:14Speaker 2: remember the last book, Carl ends up helping this big
- 55:17Speaker 2: group of of retirees, Like there was a retirement community
- 55:21Speaker 2: that managed to answer the dungeon for safety but ended
- 55:24Speaker 2: up getting pulled in. Uh, they all ended up getting
- 55:27Speaker 2: pulled into the dungeon anyway as crawlers, and they meant it,
- 55:30Speaker 2: and they helped the Metal Ark group get down to
- 55:33Speaker 2: the third from like the first to the second and
- 55:35Speaker 2: the second to the third floor and now the Metal
- 55:39Speaker 2: many of the Metal Lark retire elderly people have chosen
- 55:44Speaker 2: new races and because of this, A lot of them
- 55:46Speaker 2: get cured of their like a bunch of like their
- 55:50Speaker 2: ailments and diseases like like age related diseases. Like. One
- 55:55Speaker 2: of the metal Ark retirees is an elderly woman named
- 55:58Speaker 2: El And let me tell you something, Elle. She I
- 56:01Speaker 2: love her, love her Elle like she was when when
- 56:05Speaker 2: Carl last saw her. She was a sewe old lady. Yeah,
- 56:08Speaker 2: but she was so sweet and he and he loved her.
- 56:10Speaker 2: She was so sweet. And then she gets to the
- 56:13Speaker 2: third floor, she picks her class, and she picked ends
- 56:15Speaker 2: up becoming like an ice fairy, like some sort of
- 56:18Speaker 2: elemental fairy class. And because she chooses a new race,
- 56:21Speaker 2: it transforms her into that fairy. And when it does that,
- 56:26Speaker 2: she's no longer like this old senow old lady. She
- 56:28Speaker 2: actually gets her like it hears her of her Alzheimer's.
- 56:33Speaker 2: She's basically been de aged like fifty years or so.
- 56:37Speaker 1: She's like a twenty something twenty maybe thirty something year
- 56:40Speaker 1: old fairy with like any like not short but not
- 56:45Speaker 1: tall either, but she sounds like a she has like
- 56:49Speaker 1: a voice of a grandma. I'm kick care at almost
- 56:52Speaker 1: like a small good grandma, at least in the audiobook
- 56:56Speaker 1: she kind of has a voice of a grandma, and
- 56:58Speaker 1: it's kind of funny to imagine that voice on the
- 57:02Speaker 1: description of a younger body. It's it's it gets like
- 57:07Speaker 1: the in my opinion, gets the Agnes effect. That's just me.
- 57:11Speaker 2: Uh huh yeah, you and that fucking known.
- 57:14Speaker 1: Hey leave me alone. I love her. She's my favorite
- 57:16Speaker 1: MPC and she'll always be my favorite.
- 57:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I know so anyway, uh so, yeah, Carl gets
- 57:24Speaker 2: gets a message from one of the from one of
- 57:27Speaker 2: the caretakers of Metal Arc, a guy named Brandon, and
- 57:32Speaker 2: telling them that uh of their progress, and he and
- 57:37Speaker 2: the two of them later decide to leave and maybe
- 57:40Speaker 2: try to catch up with the Metal Art team, try
- 57:42Speaker 2: to form like better plan work together things like that,
- 57:45Speaker 2: though for the most part, Carl and Donut wants to
- 57:47Speaker 2: stay on their own so they don't get caught up
- 57:49Speaker 2: in any more shenanigans. Uh. Unfortunately for them, as soon
- 57:52Speaker 2: as almost as immediately after they leave their safe room, uh,
- 57:56Speaker 2: they get caught by Signet again and Signet knocks them
- 57:59Speaker 2: out with the spell and when Carl comes to at
- 58:02Speaker 2: a later time. Uh. When Carl comes to, she tells
- 58:05Speaker 2: him that that she wants him to help her to
- 58:10Speaker 2: get to fight the Grimaldi circus and try to allow
- 58:13Speaker 2: her to get in. So he wants her so she
- 58:16Speaker 2: wants him to get into the circus and to kill
- 58:19Speaker 2: the ring leader, Grimaldi, who happens to be a city boss. Yeah,
- 58:27Speaker 2: and I explained, I explained briefly about the different types
- 58:31Speaker 2: of bosses, Like there's borough bosses, neighborhood bosses, city bosses,
- 58:36Speaker 2: country bosses, and floor bosses. And each boss type gets
- 58:41Speaker 2: bigger and stronger and more deadly the higher you go,
- 58:44Speaker 2: Like in these early floors, if you come across like
- 58:47Speaker 2: anything above a neighborhood boss, you're fucked. Yeh Yeah, on bank,
- 58:53Speaker 2: you're you're fucked on a scale of one to ten.
- 58:56Speaker 2: My friends, you're fucked yep. Literally, uh huh literally. But
- 59:01Speaker 2: he wants her to somehow kill Grimaldi, and they actually
- 59:06Speaker 2: do figure out a way, Like she gives him like
- 59:07Speaker 2: a special poison to try to slip into slip to
- 59:12Speaker 2: grimaldy because Grimaldi had because of like it had something
- 59:15Speaker 2: to do with a Scolopendra attack, like how Scolopendra had
- 59:19Speaker 2: shattered the realms and like the over city was destroyed
- 59:22Speaker 2: and it caused a bunch of npts to become corrupted. Well,
- 59:25Speaker 2: Grimaldy got turned into this like moldy vine moss creature thing.
- 59:30Speaker 2: And she tells them that you can kill him by poisons,
- 59:32Speaker 2: using a spectual poison and if you and if you
- 59:35Speaker 2: manage to poison him, then Grimaldi will then like Signet's
- 59:41Speaker 2: banishment will be released and she can come back to
- 59:43Speaker 2: the circus and try to help those who were left
- 59:45Speaker 2: of her family, those left alive of her family. So
- 59:51Speaker 2: she doesn't really give him much choice. She she basically
- 59:54Speaker 2: tells them like, while you do that, I'll keep mango
- 59:57Speaker 2: and donut here for safe keeping, say keeping, basically saying
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: that she's going to kill him if he doesn't help her. So,
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: and the thing is, there's not much Carl can do
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: because Carl is only, like I think he at this point,
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: he's like barely level fifteen and she's level sixty. So ye,
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: he is way above his rank at the moment, like
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: his level. So he agreed, He reluctantly agrees, and she
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: told him the way she told him. They come up
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: with the plan. She's going to distract the main forces
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: of the circus by summoning her tattoos, but he needs
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: her to kill to get a sacrifice for her, And
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: one sacrifice he calls that he gives that he finds
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: that she wants it to kill is a bear name Heather.
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: So Heather is one of the circus performing bears, and
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: it's a pretty powerful bear, which would be and killing her,
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: like using her as a sacrifice would actually be enough
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: for her to summon her all of her tattoos signify
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: for it'll be enough for signments to some of all
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: of her tattoos and be able to hold off the
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: circus like the lemurs and the other like like attack
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: mobs from the circus. Well, Carl gets in, and she
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: even gives Carl a ticket, like a special ticket so
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: he can get into the so he can actually like
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: get into the circus tent without being harassed by the mobs.
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: So he he finds, and he finds and kills the
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: Heather the bear. And the thing is that he realizes
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: that Heather is actually being possessed by Grimaldi. So Grimaldi
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: infected the circus performers with these moldy worms which give
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: them psychic which gives them complete control over them. In
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: one of his loop boxes, Carl had gotten a special
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: like lottery ticket. It has five uses, and if every
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: time he's practiced something on it, it gives him like
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: a rent, like a one of two effects. Uh. The
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: ticket is called fireball or custard, so it'll in either way.
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: It'll either work for her or fuck him. So he
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: scratches it and gets the custard, and he scratches one
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: of the slots and gets the custard effects. So the
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: customed effect is a very strong healing spell. So basically
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: it shoots out strawberry custard at his intended target and
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: it heals them. So he does this and it ends
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: up healing Heather and basically pures her, purifies her of
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: the parasites that are controlling her, but it doesn't like
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: restore her fully, so she's still like in pain and suffering.
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: So he ends up putting, so he kills her just
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: to put her out of her misery. And uh Signet
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: uses her death to summon her blood and ink elementsals
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: which which are her tattoos. That's what they're called. Signet
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: advances on the circus. While Carl enters the circus itself,
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: he shows his ticket to the it's one of the
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: clowns at the entrance, and uh, that's when he realizes that, oh,
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: the ring Master Grimaldi is is something called the pestiferous
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: pestiferous vine and he's a city boss. He's like, oh,
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: I fucked, but still he tries to put uh he
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: basically takes this. He takes the poison that he was
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: given himself, and the poison won't hurt him, is not
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: gonna kill him right away, but the best way to
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: like get the poison into the vine is to like
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: let his blood infect the vine itself, So let the
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: vine feed off his blood and then like the infected
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: blood will kill will kill the vine. But Carl decides
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: there's like a there's definitely a different way to do
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: this right way to like not only allow like allow
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: him to somehow get out of this without dying, right
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: and like also like, uh, it's a con It was
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: like he realized, like he was gonna he was probably
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: gonna die. Even if he kills Grimaldi, he still has
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: to uh, he still has to escape the circus because
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: like the the other mobs are gonna still attack him.
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: And it's a very like he's stuck in a like
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: really hard situation where like he like it's gonna be
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: like fight or die, right, and he comes with an
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: idea like one, so like like he this is like
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: one of Carl's like like derailing ideas where he like
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: it really like it's one of those things that you know,
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: if you ever played D and D in one of
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: your players does something that just completely derails everything you're planning.
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: Mm hmm, I'm not talking about you. I was actually
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: talking about Coda.
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: I mean that is true, but also that seems very
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: pointed to me because I've gotten that plenty of times.
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: Uh huh, he's very pointed.
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: I've done it too. Okay, it's the point one thing
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: you're pointed at you for a point at me.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: I was about to say, I'm like, I was the
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: one that caused the mess yesterday, but whatever.
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: I did, I didn't cause the mass yesterday.
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: You almost killed You almost killed Tao in our D
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: and D game. You brought the lazy and gentlemen. He
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: brought the main villain straight to our party without them knowing,
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: and they got and she got riggedy wrecked, riggedy riggedy wrect.
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: And what he had.
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: To kill him, but what he had to do to
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: apologize to her so she wouldn't kill him. It's got
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: her a bunch of smut.
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: Yeah, our our DM literally wrote smut like incorporated a
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: special like series of he made up part and the
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: character in question tal loves reading it.
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: Yeah, and she.
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: Collected all fifty volumes and I ended up buying her
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: like eleven of the volumes.
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: That she's saying now half the series.
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: Uh. She showed up. She was like, you were the
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: one who did this. I'm sorry, here's your smile. She's like, uh, guys,
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: she was in heaven. She's like, you're forgiven.
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: Oh god, I have half the series.
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: Now, uh huh, yes, Carl does that. So basically, like
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: the the storyline was Signet and Grimaldi's Circus was actually
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: just spoke to end like that, like right then and there,
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: and basically Carl is going to die in order for
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: it to end. But Carl comes up with the comes
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: up with a cop out, and he had actually gotten
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: a special spell called wist Armer, and wist Armer gives
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: him like immunity from like certain magical effects, including mind control.
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: So the reason why he did this is because he
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: deliberately allows himself to become infected by the parasites that
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: Grimaldi uses to control the circus us the circus performer
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: and uh he communicates with Grimaldi through it and convinces
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: him to unbanished Signet so she can move on, and
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: Uh it works. He manages to convince Grimaldi uh to
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: allow Serena to uh Signet to return. Signet returns and
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: thanks him, and now the circus ends up disappearing. And
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: where they disappeared too was actually to the sixth floor,
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: which is where Signet is from. Signet is supposed to
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: be from the hunting grounds and by taking them, by
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: taking them back to the sixth floor there she wants
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: it's gonna basically continue her storyline. And while Carl knows that, like,
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: oh grey, we're gonna have to deal with this shit
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: again and three floors from now, Uh, it's like all right, cool,
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: got out of it. The thing is right at the
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: end of after dealing with the circus, he gets an
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: alert telling him that Dona is that his party member
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: is in danger. Because thing is and it had the
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: skill that Signet had cast on her to keep her asleep,
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: it left her pretty vulnerable and when they when the
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: two of them went to attack the circus, the two
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: Donut and Mango were left alone, and they're both still unconscious,
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: and unfortunately, some mobs found where their bodies were where
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: they were hidden, and they ended up attacking Donut and
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: Donut had gained a special ability in one of the
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: earlier flow floors called cockroach. So basically, if her HP
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: were to drop to one, dropped to zero, it would
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: instead drop to one and she'd be rendered unconscious. So
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: it's a it's like a one off kind of thing,
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: like she can only use it like once per floor,
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: and it keeps her from dying. So it's a useful
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: skill since she had a really low constitution. So Carl
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: has to rush back to uh rushed back to the
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: two of them, and the thing is that they were
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: being attacked by special kind of janitor mobs called street urchins.
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: So like every floor has, these kinds of mobs are
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: like very numerous, and they're not they don't pose much
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: of a threat to the to the crawlers because they're
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: so low leveled. But what they do is they'll clean
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: up the floor of any bodies. And because Carl, Donut
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: and Mango were unconscious, that urchins found them and started
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: to eat them. Yeah, so Carl shows up kills the
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: street urchins and uh and uh heals mango and donut
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: mm hmm. Once once the two of them recover, Once
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: they all recover, uh, they start grinding through the floor
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: again and level up as much as possible. Uh, and
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: they eventually returned. They exploded four more and they come
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: across like a bunch of settlements of the over City
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: because the over City isn't like one like big massive
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: settlement because the city, the over City itself was destroyed
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: pretty much destroyed and Sculpendri's attack. Now like they're all
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: scattered settlement. It's they've come across one of the settlements
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: and end up getting embroiled in another quest.
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: Mm hmmm.
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: And they also get a new achievement called one quadrillion
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: one quadrillion achievement, which is a pretty big deal because
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: they their views had reached one quadrillion views. So that
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: means that they're very that the two of them have
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: become very popular. Uh. So that means more sponsorships. They
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: have the opportunity to start earning fan boxes and uh.
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: Also like they get invited to sit on more talk
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: shows like more Dungeon shows. Uh. They also they also
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: find this this new settlement that they they also damn it.
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: Mm hmmm, I'm like, breeve got your thoughts.
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: Anyway, that's I was saying. Uh. So they get there,
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: Uh so they get some new achievements and the opportunity
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: to start earning fan boxes and sponsorships. They watched excuse me,
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: they watched another recap and now some other more notable uh,
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: some more notable crawlers that they've been seeing on the
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: recaps are becoming more and more prominent, and they're being introduced.
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: One of mainly uh crawlers like Florin, who is like
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: a like alligator man. He takes this dude who takes
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: on an alligator like kumanoid alligator class or like came
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: in and uh he's he becomes popular because he's he
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: entered the crawl with a shotgun, so like he's like
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: a sharpshooter kind of like shotgunner. And they also see
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: a woman named Miriam. Miriam was one of the player
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: killers that they encountered on the last in the last
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: two floors, alongside her husband Frank. They also see a
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: strange capride crawler name Prepotente who's pet who is partnered
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: with an Italian woman named Bianca. So here's the thing
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: about Prepotente. Prepotente was a was not originally a crawler.
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: He was a pet. So Bianca was an Italian shepherd.
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: Like she owned an entire herd of goats, and when
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: the crawl happened, wanting to protect her herd, she shepherd
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: all of her her entire herd of goats into the dungeon.
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: And she actually used some of her goats as like,
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: since she ansered them, they're they're considered her pets, and
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: they can also get like perks and skills and things
- 1:12:59Speaker 2: like that. At two of her goats end up leveling
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: up more than the others and they become pretty powerful.
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: And as a result, because of like like, she ends
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: up earning. Bianca earns like a bunch of different achievements,
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: and one of the achievements gives her a loop box
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: that came with a couple of special pet biscuits of
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: the same variety that Carl used on Donut to make
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: her into an intelligent cat. So she ends up giving
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: these pet biscuits to two of her goats. One well,
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: I'm sorry, was it? I am like confusing my characters.
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: Miriam is not the player killer, that's somebody else. Miriam
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: is the shepherd. Let's go back. So they they recap
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: introduces like they starts like focusing on like several other
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: crawlers that have started to gain popularity. Florin the Alligator
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: came in crawls like species Crawler. And then Miriam, who
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: was an Italian shepherd and she had entered the dungeon
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: with like a huge herd of goats, and two of
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: her goats ended up leveling up a lot, and like
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: they she was her goats were actually like fighting for her,
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: like they would kill mobs for her. So she ended
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: up leveling up a lot because she had like like
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: forty different goats with her and two of them was
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: actually two of her goats were like more like prolific.
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: I guess I could say, I guess I could say,
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: like they were more like, uh, they were very useful
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: for her, and she ends up getting like to get
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: several achievements that give her special pet biscuits and the
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: same kind of pet biscuits that Carl was given to
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: turn donut into well donut, Yeah, and so she gives them.
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: She gives those two pet biscuits to her two favorite goats.
- 1:15:00Speaker 2: One of them was named Prepotente and the other one
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: was named Bianca Prepotente. The biscuit that she gave to
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: Prepotente turns them into a capri, which is a humanoid
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: goat like creature and they are also intelligent. So basically, uh,
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: Prepotente is now a dungeon crawler like like like Donut.
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: He's a former part that was turned into an intelligent
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: crawl and into an intelligent player that is now a crawler.
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: So he's no longer considered a pet. He's a crawler
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: and Miriam is his mother. And the other goat, Bianca,
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: gets turned into this demon dragon goat thing. Yeah, and
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: let me tell you something like Bianca is gnarley that
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: well for starters, Bianca like he looks like a massive,
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: roided like demon goat creature. We're talking like Black Phillip
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: from The Witch except bigger.
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: Like imagine if like Satan where to suddenly rise up
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: out of the earth, except Satan has like six teeths,
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: like six six big ass boobs grow like going down
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: like her chest and so like has these like dragon
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: wings and her body like her her first turned like
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: pitch black and it flickers with this black flame and
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: everywhere she walks like she leaves like these scorch marks
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: on the on the ground.
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: All right, iconic, So.
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: She's iconic, and Miriam often uses Bianca as like a
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: mount because she's huge. Now you can actually ride her
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: and mirror like you is aggressive.
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: Hey, what better way to make a statement? Roll up
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: on a big teddy saggon fucking monster of a goat
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: with wings and black flames and looks like she called
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: right out of hell? I mean, what better way to
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: make a statement?
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: Yeah. Now, like Bianca's iconic, but Prepotente steals the show.
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: That I hate the little bastard.
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: I think he's I think he's hilarious and really because
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: he'll randomly do that goat scream.
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: Yeah the meme.
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: Yeah, eventually meets the meets them in person, and like
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: Prepotenze being like he's he's a bit of a prick,
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: but he's also very like affectionate, so like there will
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: be times where Preppertente will give Carl a hug and
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: then right when he gives him a hug, just screams
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: right in his ear. Yeah, like just like hugs them
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: and just like.
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, pretty much pretty much.
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: Yeah, so I love them. I love him. And after
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: after seeing the recap episode, they explore this new settlements.
- 1:18:03Speaker 2: They see that this settlement has an entrance to the
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: Desperado Club, which is the club that Carl got its.
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: Carl and Don't both got spectable entrance to. I forgot
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: how they get interest to it, And I think it
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: has something to do with like just basically fucking shut up.
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: Yeah, pretty much, you know.
- 1:18:22Speaker 5: And when they.
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: Answer the settlement, they they keep encountering a NPC who
- 1:18:29Speaker 2: is a sex worker named Gum Gum. It's an orc
- 1:18:33Speaker 2: sex worker or hobgoblin. I think, hold on, she gum
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: Gum is an orc. Yeah, she's an orc sex worker.
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: And she keeps trying to give uh. She keeps trying
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: to give Carl a quest called sex Workers who Fell
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: from the Heavens because she wants them to investigate a
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: series of deaths by other sex workers and the way
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: that they've been dying is that something has been dropping
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: them from the sky and like they're dying and they
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: like they're She thinks it's murder, it's foul play because
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: in the settlement settlements are safe zones and mobs can't
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: enter the safe zones and like pickpecs up and drop
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: them like that, So she thinks it's foul play, but
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: Mordecai tells like who's been, who's now, want who's now
- 1:19:25Speaker 2: traveling with them in the settlement exploring settlement with them,
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: tells her to fuck off because like they don't need
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: to be embroiled in more quests. Uh. He takes them
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: into the Desperado Club and takes them into like the
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: shopping into like the merchant areas of the Desperado Club,
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: because the Desperado Club it's a club. It's like a
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: you know, there's a bar, there's dance floor, but it
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: also has halls that are filled with guilds and shops.
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: So he takes them to the shops to start buying
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: like much needed supplies. Donut buys a pet carrier.
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: For Mango and.
- 1:20:04Speaker 2: M hm uh in the in the Death Brotto club, Uh,
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: Morki takes them to a like to several different shops,
- 1:20:15Speaker 2: like he takes them to uh to a merchant that's
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: that sells like explosives. He takes them to like a
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: like a like a merchant kiosk where they can buy
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: like a starter kite, and also takes them to like
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: a pharmacist so we can get some potions. Because now
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: that Mordecai is there is their manager. He can also
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: help them by using like his own skills from his
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: time as a crawler. He can't fight with them, but
- 1:20:41Speaker 2: he can have to like support them. And since his
- 1:20:43Speaker 2: class back when he was a crawler was like an alchemist, Uh,
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: he makes a lot of really useful potions. So he
- 1:20:51Speaker 2: tells them to start investing and like like like potions table,
- 1:20:57Speaker 2: alchemy tables, a bo like a like a bomber table
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: for carl so you can start working on making better explosives.
- 1:21:05Speaker 2: And uh, like this is I think this is where
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: like they get their own personal safe room. So that's
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: where like they purchased their own safe room. And I
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: think that's what that starter kit is for. I'm having
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: a hard time remembering what it was. But while they
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: were exploring to the Desperado Club, they learned that Lucilla
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: Marr was in the Desperado Club recently and she had
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: been permanently banned because she had gone on a rampage.
- 1:21:30Speaker 2: So like, I gotta tell you, Lucilla Mar is batshit crazy.
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: When she enters the third floor, she actually picks a
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: I don't remember what, like what class she picks, but
- 1:21:41Speaker 2: she picks a race that basically it's like like depending
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: on the time of day, she will transform into different
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: into like two different forms. One is like a form
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: of like a beautiful like uh like ethereal looking woman,
- 1:21:55Speaker 2: and when she's in that form, she's like a mage.
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: She can cast really powerful spells or like she gets
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: a boost to her spells. And then her other form
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: is like this skeletal like warrior Amazonian form and like
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: she gets a really big boost to like her like
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: combat stats and uh basically brawling and meleeing. Yeah, it
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: kind of reminds me of hell of like the of
- 1:22:24Speaker 2: like Hella. Yeah, Hella from from Norse mythology, because Hella
- 1:22:30Speaker 2: is the goddess of death and in if you in
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: like it, like the biblical version of her, she has
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: like half of her body is dead and the other
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: half is alive, so she looks like half like one
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: half of her looks like a corpse, like a rotted corpse,
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: and the other half of her looks like a very
- 1:22:48Speaker 2: lively young woman.
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: Hell yeah, So like it's kind of her the race
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: she chose to kind of a play on that, like
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: one Like certain parts of the day she looks like
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: a beautiful, ethereal, lively woman. In other parts she looks
- 1:23:02Speaker 2: like a skeletal warrior.
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: Yeah, depending on.
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, while on the Silk Road, which is the
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: Merchants guilds, uh Mordecai has Carl uh introduced Carl to
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: an NPC called Pustule, the Hobgoblin, and this Hobgoblin sells
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: a lot, is sells a lot of explosives, So they
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: purchased like a large number of Hobgoblin grade dynamite and
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: uh what are called hobb loobbers, which are just like grenades.
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: And think about think about Hobgoblin level explosives is that
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: they're more stable than Goblin level explosives, because Goblin level
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: explosives are very unstable and can blow up in your face. Well,
- 1:23:50Speaker 2: hob Goblin like hobb blobbers and Hobgoblin dynamite, they're all
- 1:23:54Speaker 2: pretty stable and almost anyone can use them if you
- 1:23:57Speaker 2: have the right stats. But within Carl's case, he can
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: easily use them, and they're a lot more reliable and
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: they're higher yield explosive. Yeah, and he also decided they
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: She also offers to sell them some special like smoke grenades,
- 1:24:14Speaker 2: but she has to order them, so they decide to
- 1:24:15Speaker 2: come back for them. On their way back to uh
- 1:24:19Speaker 2: back to their safe room, uh Mango ends up running
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: off and and when they chase after him, they find
- 1:24:25Speaker 2: the body of this sex worker gum Gum, who'd been
- 1:24:29Speaker 2: trying to give them the quest and it turns out
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: that she was dead and now her body is being
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: attacked like by three creatures called Crossaway. So Crossway are
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: actually real, like come from real like I believe it's
- 1:24:47Speaker 2: like Filipino mythology or like some sort of Southeast Asian mythology. Uh.
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: They are basically like what they look like are floating
- 1:24:55Speaker 2: heads that have like entrails like that like this, see
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: like the spinal column like hanging from the head from
- 1:25:03Speaker 2: the head, and then like the the esophagus and the lungs.
- 1:25:06Speaker 2: Like basically like they're floating head with their entrails like
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: hanging from the head, so like their guts like if
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: you want a better description, look them up. It's crossed
- 1:25:17Speaker 2: the way. It's Crossway k R A s U E
- 1:25:20Speaker 2: must sure if I'm pronouncing it right, but they're really
- 1:25:26Speaker 2: gross looking.
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Carsway is a female spirit from Southeast
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: Asia folklore. It's literally just a head, a spine, yea heart,
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: and then stomach and entrails and and the whole goal
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: and the whole thing is like sparler leg witches. And
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: every night they detach and then they go float around
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: looking for their next victim.
- 1:25:49Speaker 2: Yeah. Like during the day they look like there are
- 1:25:52Speaker 2: like attached to an actual body, so they look like
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: normal people. But then at night the heads detach themselves
- 1:25:56Speaker 2: from the body and like their guts come with them.
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: Yeah, it's weird.
- 1:26:00Speaker 2: The description the description for the AI has for them
- 1:26:03Speaker 2: is pretty funny. Like in this book, we don't see
- 1:26:05Speaker 2: a lot of like really funny achievements like from the
- 1:26:08Speaker 2: first book, but some of the descriptions are pretty funny,
- 1:26:10Speaker 2: Like this one is like Crossway. When they first encountered
- 1:26:14Speaker 2: a crossway, it's like Crossway level sixteen. Holy crap, these
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: things are terrifying. Who comes up with this shit? Said
- 1:26:21Speaker 2: to be the undead shell of a woman who lived
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: a life of sin, Crossway roam the dark places, hiding
- 1:26:25Speaker 2: their hideous true form. They are ravenous, and they devour
- 1:26:28Speaker 2: the blood of the unsuspecting. In other words, these things
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: are flying heads who are also vampires, and they bring
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: their organs along because well, nobody knows why, probably just
- 1:26:39Speaker 2: because it's really growth. You may kill the head and
- 1:26:41Speaker 2: trailing organs defend her off, but this mob doesn't truly
- 1:26:44Speaker 2: die until you find and destroy the rest of her corpse.
- 1:26:46Speaker 2: You will not earn experience for killing this mob until
- 1:26:49Speaker 2: it is dead dead not just dead. Warning, this is
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: the ghats class mob. They are only injured with magic
- 1:26:55Speaker 2: or magical items period. So yes, they After fighting off
- 1:27:02Speaker 2: these gross ass costaway, they decide to take the They
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: decided to take her take gum guns quests and investigate
- 1:27:14Speaker 2: and investigate the killing the killing of the sex workers
- 1:27:22Speaker 2: and let's see here. Uh. When taking the quest, they
- 1:27:27Speaker 2: they follow the clues, they investigate the uh, they investigate
- 1:27:31Speaker 2: the other deaths and there and the evidence that they're
- 1:27:35Speaker 2: able to find leads them to believe that the that
- 1:27:39Speaker 2: the magistrate of the town, guy in a skyfowl named
- 1:27:44Speaker 2: feather Fall, may be responsible for all these sex workers'
- 1:27:49Speaker 2: deaths and may be either in cahoots with the Crossway
- 1:27:52Speaker 2: or controlling them. Uh, let me see, I'm gonna skip
- 1:28:02Speaker 2: over some parts because we're kind of not really important
- 1:28:05Speaker 2: to the story. Uh. They decided to go to the
- 1:28:08Speaker 2: magistrate's office. And they decided to go to the magistrate's
- 1:28:14Speaker 2: office to try to speak with the magistrate. But they
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: only they they only succeed in speaking to his secretary
- 1:28:21Speaker 2: Sky follows named Miss Quill. Uh Carl. Uh. It brings
- 1:28:25Speaker 2: her the evidence of like some corpses that they had
- 1:28:28Speaker 2: that he had taken with them. Uh, but she's not
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: really willing to like cooperate with their investigation or give
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: them any extra hints. Uh.
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: So Uh.
- 1:28:40Speaker 2: While they're in Miss Quill's office, Carl manages to sneakly
- 1:28:44Speaker 2: leave ah an explosive that he's able to trigger from
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: from his inventory, and they leave and try to go
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: investigate and do some other like follow the clues and
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: do some grinding. Uh. They find a boss. They find
- 1:29:04Speaker 2: a neighborhood boss that was killed by another crawler named
- 1:29:07Speaker 2: Daniel Bautista. Yeah, this is the guy that we will
- 1:29:11Speaker 2: that becomes a crucial part of Carl's team in the future.
- 1:29:16Speaker 2: They eventually run into him later because like they they
- 1:29:19Speaker 2: find his the boss he killed and UH. The boss
- 1:29:23Speaker 2: is this is the boss that ends up exploding and
- 1:29:26Speaker 2: knocks Carl off and knocks Carl out. Not long after this,
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: Carl and Donut are brought to a UH are brought
- 1:29:34Speaker 2: onto another UH to another talk show called danger Zone
- 1:29:38Speaker 2: with Ripper wants on UH. And on this talk show
- 1:29:41Speaker 2: they meet UH. They meet some Syndicate aliens named ev O,
- 1:29:46Speaker 2: Princess Dinadia, Manasa Butler, and then a couple other UH
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: and a couple other crawlers like Hecla and Ripper. Hecla
- 1:29:58Speaker 2: UH actually invites Karl and Donut to be a part
- 1:30:01Speaker 2: of her party, but Carl refuses, and on the talk show,
- 1:30:04Speaker 2: like Carl and Donut actually talk. The topic gets to
- 1:30:10Speaker 2: like the Skull Empire, which is the Orc Empire, one
- 1:30:12Speaker 2: of the Orc empires of the Syndicate. And the thing
- 1:30:17Speaker 2: is they already started some pretty like gnarly beef with
- 1:30:19Speaker 2: the UH with the Skull Empire because of the show
- 1:30:23Speaker 2: they were on in the one of the previous floors.
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: Yeah, this was.
- 1:30:26Speaker 2: The show that was run by one of the Orc
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: princes calling himself the Maestro, and they make an enemy
- 1:30:33Speaker 2: of him and Carl like they talk more shit basically
- 1:30:37Speaker 2: like emasculating the Maestro And the thing about the Skull
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: Empire is that they're very like they're problematic and confrontational,
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: so they decide they want to try to kill Carl.
- 1:30:50Speaker 2: And the thing is, whenever Carl's brought onto these talk shows,
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: they transport him into a special kind of like studio
- 1:30:56Speaker 2: trailer that's on the surface of Earth, and when he
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: goes onto the shows up being he's just being like
- 1:31:02Speaker 2: live broadcast onto the show like as a hologram, So
- 1:31:05Speaker 2: he's not on he's not actually on the show. He's
- 1:31:07Speaker 2: just more of like a kind of like a just
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: like a zoom like a holographic zoom call. And the
- 1:31:16Speaker 2: thing is, though, when the thing is is that when
- 1:31:22Speaker 2: they were bringing him onto the show, there were some
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: like issues with his trailer, so they ended up trading
- 1:31:26Speaker 2: him with putting him in a different trailer than they
- 1:31:29Speaker 2: originally scheduled. And because of all the because of all
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: the ship talking that he had done and the antagonizing
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: they do against the Mastro, the Skull Empire decided to
- 1:31:39Speaker 2: try to assassinate him. And when they do that, they
- 1:31:44Speaker 2: blow they blow up the trailer that they thought he
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: was in. Problem is that they had switched his trailer
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: with another with another contestant on this talk show, a
- 1:31:54Speaker 2: woman named Manessa. Now Manessa, she is like a manissa A.
- 1:32:01Speaker 2: She was part of the Naga race. So not the
- 1:32:05Speaker 2: Naga are like the snakelike humanoids. Like they have like
- 1:32:09Speaker 2: the upper bodies of like a humanoid person with like
- 1:32:12Speaker 2: like with working arms and like a more snake like face.
- 1:32:15Speaker 2: But they but below the waist they have like a
- 1:32:18Speaker 2: full snake body like serpentine body. Manassa looked like a
- 1:32:23Speaker 2: giant cobra person. But she was actually really friendly. She
- 1:32:26Speaker 2: got really she got really uh, she got on well
- 1:32:30Speaker 2: with Donut And think about Manassa though, is so Manassa
- 1:32:34Speaker 2: was a like a famous Naga pop singer, but she
- 1:32:38Speaker 2: actually had died centuries ago. And the thing is that
- 1:32:43Speaker 2: but despite the fact she died, she had made a
- 1:32:45Speaker 2: contract with a one of the syndicate races called the
- 1:32:49Speaker 2: Vaulta Corporation. The Vaulta are a race of these they're
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: basically brain worms, so they're intelligent brain worms. They and
- 1:32:58Speaker 2: they inhabit those bodies of other of other species and
- 1:33:03Speaker 2: basically if you've ever seen Stargate.
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: They're those Yeah.
- 1:33:10Speaker 2: Yeah, the the worms that take over your body. Well,
- 1:33:15Speaker 2: Valta are kind of like that, but they're not, like
- 1:33:17Speaker 2: they don't forcibly take over people's body. They typically either
- 1:33:21Speaker 2: uh like get permission before they take over a body,
- 1:33:24Speaker 2: or they use like special like uh android bodies that
- 1:33:28Speaker 2: can support them if they don't have a body like
- 1:33:31Speaker 2: readily available, or in some cases, they can make contracts
- 1:33:35Speaker 2: with other species, like if some if you make a
- 1:33:38Speaker 2: contract with a with the valse while you're alive, they
- 1:33:42Speaker 2: pay you like an exuber amount of money, so that way,
- 1:33:46Speaker 2: in the event of your death, your body will be
- 1:33:48Speaker 2: given to them and a Voltai worm will be implanted
- 1:33:51Speaker 2: into your body. So the Valsi worm can like resurrect you.
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: Basically, but it will be using your body as it's
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: a it's as it's I mean putting you on is
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: a little suit yep.
- 1:34:07Speaker 2: So it technically does bring you back to life, but
- 1:34:10Speaker 2: you're not going to be in control anymore. It's it's
- 1:34:13Speaker 2: going to take control, which I mean at that point
- 1:34:16Speaker 2: you were already dead, so it's like I'm really bringing
- 1:34:19Speaker 2: you back to life. It's just reanimating your corpse and
- 1:34:23Speaker 2: uh while it keeps your body, it like reanimates you
- 1:34:26Speaker 2: keeps your body alive, You're not really you. It's just
- 1:34:28Speaker 2: using your memories and your personality for its own. So
- 1:34:33Speaker 2: that's that's who Manassa was. And the thing is that
- 1:34:37Speaker 2: when the Skull Empire tried to assassinate Carl, they end
- 1:34:40Speaker 2: up killing Manassa instead, And this really pisss off the
- 1:34:43Speaker 2: Vaultake Corporation because since Manassa is technically what was technically
- 1:34:48Speaker 2: one of theirs, they that was considered an active aggressions
- 1:34:54Speaker 2: retaliates retaliates against the Skull Empire by destroying Prince Stalwart's yacht.
- 1:35:01Speaker 2: So there were several different princes of the Skull Empire.
- 1:35:05Speaker 2: There's really only two that we uh will see throughout
- 1:35:08Speaker 2: the series. The first one was the Maastro. He was
- 1:35:11Speaker 2: like the younger son, like the younger prince of the empire.
- 1:35:14Speaker 2: And then there was like the primary prince who's like
- 1:35:17Speaker 2: next in line to rule, which is Prince Stalwart. And
- 1:35:20Speaker 2: there's another uh, and then they also deal with their sister.
- 1:35:24Speaker 2: I forgot her name. I'll pull up her name later,
- 1:35:27Speaker 2: but UH. The thing is is that when the Vaulta destroyed,
- 1:35:31Speaker 2: they retaliate. They destroy Prince Stalwart's yacht. Which the Diastro
- 1:35:38Speaker 2: and their mother was on. So the Vaulta ended up
- 1:35:41Speaker 2: killing the queen and the one of the princes of
- 1:35:44Speaker 2: the Skull Empire.
- 1:35:45Speaker 1: They really said, funk around find out, bitch. I really
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: said that.
- 1:35:50Speaker 2: The Vaulta Corporation, since they're not currently running the Dungeon Crawl,
- 1:35:54Speaker 2: they can't do anything about Prince Stalwart because he's currently
- 1:35:57Speaker 2: sponsoring one of the of the deities on the twelfth floor,
- 1:36:02Speaker 2: and since he's already on the planet. They did there,
- 1:36:06Speaker 2: they didn't kill him. They weren't able to kill him,
- 1:36:10Speaker 2: and he since he's already a sponsored member of the
- 1:36:13Speaker 2: of the team, they can't really take action against him.
- 1:36:15Speaker 2: But still the message was clear, fuck around again and
- 1:36:18Speaker 2: you'll find out.
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I killed your mama and your brother. What
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: what's next?
- 1:36:24Speaker 2: And what are you gonna do about it? And want
- 1:36:27Speaker 2: you want to enter the dungeon? Into the dungeon. We'll
- 1:36:29Speaker 2: be running things soon. Oh there's some tea. I gotta
- 1:36:33Speaker 2: tell you, guys, there is some tea. The reason. There's
- 1:36:36Speaker 2: the reason why I'm bringing up the vaults A Corporation. Now.
- 1:36:39Speaker 2: It's not only because yes, this is like part of
- 1:36:41Speaker 2: the story, but the VAULTA are going to be taking
- 1:36:43Speaker 2: uh are gonna be playing a bigger role in the
- 1:36:45Speaker 2: Dungeon Crawl because the Fort Corporation, which is run by
- 1:36:51Speaker 2: a race of fishes like fish people.
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: UH.
- 1:36:55Speaker 2: For the actual name of their race, I think they
- 1:36:58Speaker 2: just call them the They're not the vault They're called
- 1:37:02Speaker 2: uh like the announcer of the the announcer who usually
- 1:37:12Speaker 2: like talked about.
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: I can't remember the race's name, but imagine huh quattine.
- 1:37:23Speaker 1: Imagine if you will, if you have ever watched not
- 1:37:27Speaker 1: Howling Commandos, Oh my God, DC that commander, that group
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: of monsters that they had for an animated series. I
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: can't think of the name, but one of them was
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: an aquatic fish person and basically kind of looks like
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: that or like hew Boy two you see aquatic.
- 1:37:45Speaker 2: Yeah, or strap of water.
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: Shap of water is another one. Yeah, That's that's the
- 1:37:51Speaker 1: image I think of when thinking about they're.
- 1:37:53Speaker 2: Humanoid fish people, but they're actually very like diminutive. They're
- 1:37:56Speaker 2: not very they're not very tall, they're very short. The
- 1:38:01Speaker 2: boran species is called Quatan, but like a lot of
- 1:38:06Speaker 2: the other syndicate races, often referred to them as like
- 1:38:09Speaker 2: mud skippers as like a bit of a racial term,
- 1:38:13Speaker 2: like a like a racist, like a very racist term.
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: That's that's almost too similar to a very another another
- 1:38:19Speaker 1: very racial term.
- 1:38:21Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, So, uh, think about the Borant Corporation and
- 1:38:26Speaker 2: the Quatin in general, is that the Quatin are basically
- 1:38:30Speaker 2: Nazis at this point because they have very strong eugenic
- 1:38:35Speaker 2: eugenesis ideologies and they're very isolationists, so they pretty much
- 1:38:41Speaker 2: shun other species and have like a very strong idea
- 1:38:43Speaker 2: of like their superiority. But the problem is is that
- 1:38:47Speaker 2: their entire system is in debt. Yeah, like the Boran Corporation,
- 1:38:52Speaker 2: their governments, they are in stupid amount of death of
- 1:38:56Speaker 2: debt right now, and most of that debt is to
- 1:38:58Speaker 2: the Voltai Corporation. And in fact, they ended up starting
- 1:39:03Speaker 2: the dungeon crawl early as a cash grab, like they
- 1:39:07Speaker 2: cut corners. They got a they got a basically a
- 1:39:13Speaker 2: certified ref certified refurbished like a certified pre owned copy
- 1:39:20Speaker 2: of a primal a of the primal Ai. So the
- 1:39:22Speaker 2: Ai that is that was that's being used for. Uh,
- 1:39:28Speaker 2: the Earth Dungeon Crawl is a second hands aire schemes
- 1:39:34Speaker 2: previously for a different dungeon crawl, but it was wiped
- 1:39:37Speaker 2: and put into this one.
- 1:39:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:39:40Speaker 2: Yeah, so, and it explains a lot because the because
- 1:39:44Speaker 2: the AI begins to go primal a lot sooner than
- 1:39:47Speaker 2: what they were expecting, and there was a lot of
- 1:39:51Speaker 2: ship that they did cut corners, and this crawl when
- 1:39:55Speaker 2: it started, it was a ship show because a lot
- 1:39:58Speaker 2: of like the traps, a lot of the systems and
- 1:40:01Speaker 2: the structure of the dungeon was not set up right.
- 1:40:04Speaker 2: And because of that, a lot of crawlers ended up
- 1:40:07Speaker 2: dying because traps would go off randomly, or if hell,
- 1:40:10Speaker 2: they would try to go to the bath one of
- 1:40:11Speaker 2: the many bathrooms they set up around the dungeon, and
- 1:40:14Speaker 2: the bathrooms would just blow up.
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: Yeah, just kill them. And yeah, throughout the series, you'll
- 1:40:20Speaker 1: you'll notice that there's a lot of oops. So we
- 1:40:24Speaker 1: announcement we fixed this problem, so this problem won't happen again,
- 1:40:28Speaker 1: or we fix this, or we fix that. Oh yeah,
- 1:40:33Speaker 1: there's a lot of oopsies. Let me fix this. Here's announcement,
- 1:40:37Speaker 1: we fixed this. This won't be an issue anymore.
- 1:40:41Speaker 2: Yeah. So they were literally about their entire system was
- 1:40:45Speaker 2: literally about to get repossessed by the Vaultake Corporation.
- 1:40:48Speaker 1: Yeah, this game is keeping them there. This this game
- 1:40:51Speaker 1: is literally keeping them alive.
- 1:40:54Speaker 2: Yeah. They started the game early as a cash drab
- 1:40:57Speaker 2: to like pay off their debts, and for them, it
- 1:41:00Speaker 2: was working. But the thing is that Carl and a
- 1:41:03Speaker 2: bunch of other dungeon crawlers kept throwing monkey wrenches into
- 1:41:05Speaker 2: the equation and eventually, uh, the vault A Corporation will
- 1:41:10Speaker 2: do a hostile takeover. And yeah that's not until like later.
- 1:41:16Speaker 2: I think that's like in book four when the.
- 1:41:19Speaker 1: Spoiler alert it's gonna happen.
- 1:41:22Speaker 2: Anyway, That's what this whole show is about. Spoilers, Like
- 1:41:29Speaker 2: you want to ruin someone's day, like send the link
- 1:41:31Speaker 2: to our to our podcast, will spoil our favorite show
- 1:41:35Speaker 2: or their favorite book.
- 1:41:36Speaker 1: I'm still so upset about Stranger Things, but I'm not
- 1:41:39Speaker 1: going to get into that. We are not going to
- 1:41:42Speaker 1: I'm so upset.
- 1:41:45Speaker 2: God, what have you said about I'm sorry?
- 1:41:48Speaker 1: Like, no, I'm still upset about stranger things.
- 1:41:53Speaker 2: Uh huh?
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: How the show ended? Oh okay, and the kool aid
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: that everyone's been drinking about the secret episode. I was
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: drinking that koul aid. I was unfortunately drinking that koul
- 1:42:05Speaker 1: aid too. Yeah, I knew it. Wasn't real, So what
- 1:42:11Speaker 1: route your day, like my day was ruined or my
- 1:42:13Speaker 1: month was ruined.
- 1:42:17Speaker 2: Yep. So the Vaulte retaliates against the Skull Empire, and
- 1:42:21Speaker 2: the Empire is even a stern warning that if you
- 1:42:24Speaker 2: interfere again, like you're gonna find out what's gonna happen.
- 1:42:27Speaker 1: It's on site. It's on site. It's on site.
- 1:42:30Speaker 2: Uh uh, let me see, I'm gonna skip.
- 1:42:39Speaker 1: Over, book around and find out. I was only listening
- 1:42:43Speaker 1: to that and I'm like, oh, they told you. They
- 1:42:46Speaker 1: say on site, you have no nippis while they were.
- 1:42:50Speaker 2: On so yeah, it's on site, but while before that happened.
- 1:42:54Speaker 2: While so actually like right when that happens, the show
- 1:42:57Speaker 2: gets cut off and Parl is left there staring at
- 1:43:01Speaker 2: the other two crawlers that were on the show, mainly Hecla.
- 1:43:05Speaker 2: So Hecla was became is a pretty popular dungeon crawler
- 1:43:08Speaker 2: because she's she's a bit of a girl boss. She
- 1:43:12Speaker 2: has like a huge party filled with women, right, and
- 1:43:16Speaker 2: it's supposed to be very like like a lot of people.
- 1:43:19Speaker 2: They become very popular because it's just like yeah, girl power, right,
- 1:43:22Speaker 2: And Hecla does invite Carl and Dona to join her party,
- 1:43:28Speaker 2: but and Carl thinks about it, and Hekla wanting to
- 1:43:32Speaker 2: respecting his he's wanting to like think about joining up
- 1:43:37Speaker 2: with them. She asked him to keep an eye out
- 1:43:40Speaker 2: for one of her party members who got separated when
- 1:43:43Speaker 2: they entered the third floor. And this party member was
- 1:43:46Speaker 2: a woman named Katia. And we love Katia. She's she's
- 1:43:53Speaker 2: going to be a very important part of She can
- 1:43:57Speaker 2: become a very important member to Carl's party is yep,
- 1:44:03Speaker 2: and she is going to uh like like she she
- 1:44:08Speaker 2: becomes a big help to them. And the thing is
- 1:44:11Speaker 2: that Katsi Unfort when they first meet Katya, Katu was
- 1:44:15Speaker 2: actually very low level. She did not have she was
- 1:44:18Speaker 2: like way behind the curve.
- 1:44:20Speaker 1: Is that book two or three? If she comes in.
- 1:44:23Speaker 2: Book three, they meet her in the third floor, so
- 1:44:26Speaker 2: they Heckla tells her that Katias, she knows that Katia
- 1:44:30Speaker 2: is in the same settlement that they're in and if
- 1:44:32Speaker 2: they could look out for her until they can meet
- 1:44:34Speaker 2: up with her, look out for Katia, well until they
- 1:44:37Speaker 2: can meet up with Hekla. She'd really appreciate it and
- 1:44:40Speaker 2: possibly help them in the future. And Carl reluctantly agrees
- 1:44:44Speaker 2: and said we'll keep an eye out for her, and
- 1:44:46Speaker 2: they do eventually run into Katia. The thing about Katya
- 1:44:49Speaker 2: is is that when she when she was picking her
- 1:44:53Speaker 2: races and levels, she basically got screwed by her Uh,
- 1:44:57Speaker 2: she got screwed by her tutorial guide. The the tutorial
- 1:45:00Speaker 2: guide was a bit of an idiot and convinced her
- 1:45:03Speaker 2: to take on a race called the dopp called Doppelganger race.
- 1:45:07Speaker 2: The Doppelganger race is not a changeling race, so like
- 1:45:11Speaker 2: so like Mordecai who chose to change in the race,
- 1:45:13Speaker 2: can perfectly mimic any race that he touches, right, But
- 1:45:17Speaker 2: the thing about the Doppelganger is basically, when you become
- 1:45:20Speaker 2: a Doppelganger, you basically become become a like a block of.
- 1:45:23Speaker 1: Clay basically, and you have to you have.
- 1:45:27Speaker 2: To manually mold yourself into the shape that you want.
- 1:45:30Speaker 2: So while Katia figured out how to like somewhat mold
- 1:45:33Speaker 2: herself into like her what she originally looked like when
- 1:45:36Speaker 2: they first meet her, she looks kind of like a goofy. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:45:43Speaker 2: she she did not look right and they could see her.
- 1:45:48Speaker 2: They could see that like her levels are very low,
- 1:45:50Speaker 2: like she didn't. She hasn't done a lot of leveling up.
- 1:45:53Speaker 2: So they take her in and they actually help her
- 1:45:56Speaker 2: with like figuring out how to use her skills. They
- 1:45:59Speaker 2: help level up more. And because Contio is pretty like
- 1:46:03Speaker 2: she's very closed off and in her shell.
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: And are we talking about book three or book two?
- 1:46:09Speaker 2: We're talking about book two.
- 1:46:11Speaker 1: I mean, we don't want to go over everything for
- 1:46:13Speaker 1: book three.
- 1:46:14Speaker 2: Oh no, no, she's no. They meet her in book two.
- 1:46:15Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I'm you mean her book two. Oh okay, yeah.
- 1:46:18Speaker 2: They meet her book thinking, like because like each book
- 1:46:23Speaker 2: after book one is like is an entire floor, right,
- 1:46:27Speaker 2: but like it I get confused because like book one
- 1:46:31Speaker 2: was floor one, and two and then two was floor three,
- 1:46:34Speaker 2: and then four was then then three was four, four
- 1:46:37Speaker 2: was five, five was seven, was six, six was eight because.
- 1:46:42Speaker 1: They like I listened to all the audiobooks for the
- 1:46:47Speaker 1: first like three or four books back to back, so
- 1:46:49Speaker 1: they all kind of mushed together. So I don't remember.
- 1:46:52Speaker 1: That's on me. I don't remember. I didn't remember content
- 1:46:55Speaker 1: came in book two or three. So continue what I
- 1:46:58Speaker 1: was saying.
- 1:46:58Speaker 2: What I was thinking it it's book two, but I
- 1:47:00Speaker 2: was thinking floor three yeah, because this book two is
- 1:47:03Speaker 2: floor three. So so, yes, they meet Kanto, they start helping,
- 1:47:08Speaker 2: they take her in, they start helping her level up,
- 1:47:11Speaker 2: and they decide like, all right, well, to complete the quest,
- 1:47:16Speaker 2: we're gonna need to just take out the magistrate because
- 1:47:18Speaker 2: they learned that they take out the magistrate, they'd become up.
- 1:47:20Speaker 2: They basically take over the town, so the town becomes theirs, right,
- 1:47:24Speaker 2: they'll have full control over it and everything. Yeah, So
- 1:47:27Speaker 2: rather than try to like, you know, navigate the possible
- 1:47:31Speaker 2: swarm of Cotsway that are hiding in the magistrate's office,
- 1:47:34Speaker 2: Carl detonates the stick of explosive that he had hidden
- 1:47:38Speaker 2: in the in the magistrate's office. Now they learned that
- 1:47:42Speaker 2: the magistrate wasn't They realized the magistrate was not in
- 1:47:45Speaker 2: his office at all, though miss Quill was. And when
- 1:47:48Speaker 2: they kill and when they detonate the bomb, it kills
- 1:47:51Speaker 2: miss Quill and they get the achievement for killing her.
- 1:47:54Speaker 2: And as it turns out, she was the real magistrate
- 1:47:58Speaker 2: of the town.
- 1:48:00Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 1:48:01Speaker 2: She's actually been the one in control of everything, including
- 1:48:04Speaker 2: the Cassway. And they also learned that the magistrate, who
- 1:48:08Speaker 2: is her husband, Yeah, was being controlled by her, and
- 1:48:14Speaker 2: with her death like all control of the town goes
- 1:48:17Speaker 2: over to Carl. And but since Donna is the higher
- 1:48:21Speaker 2: rank is like the higher ranked member of the party,
- 1:48:25Speaker 2: she's technically the one in control because that's the way
- 1:48:28Speaker 2: where you're in a party, the one with the bit
- 1:48:30Speaker 2: with the better status is the is the default leader. Ah.
- 1:48:38Speaker 2: They go into. They decide they go into the wreckage
- 1:48:41Speaker 2: of the Magistrate's office and exploring. While exploring the building,
- 1:48:45Speaker 2: they find the remains of h MS Quill Featherfall, and
- 1:48:51Speaker 2: they also find the nets of Crossway. Carl uses to
- 1:48:55Speaker 2: scratch off again and ends up shooting a max level
- 1:48:57Speaker 2: fireball into the nests, killing everyone of uh. Killing all
- 1:49:02Speaker 2: of them, though they do find that a skyfoul had
- 1:49:06Speaker 2: survived the fireball, and this sky file UH, this sky
- 1:49:10Speaker 2: skyfoul bird named Burgundy uh tell them tells them that
- 1:49:17Speaker 2: oh yeah, Ms Coole was in charge of everything, and
- 1:49:20Speaker 2: that she that her husband was actually dead but she
- 1:49:23Speaker 2: resurrected him and he and she'd been using him for
- 1:49:27Speaker 2: some weird plan. And seeing that their quest is still
- 1:49:31Speaker 2: going like because it's not, they haven't really like completed
- 1:49:35Speaker 2: the quest yet, they decided to go try and find
- 1:49:39Speaker 2: where her own dead husband is. Uh. While they were
- 1:49:42Speaker 2: in while they were like looking through the magistrate's office,
- 1:49:45Speaker 2: see if there's anything of use, they Carl picks up
- 1:49:50Speaker 2: a special glass case and it had like a rare
- 1:49:54Speaker 2: Kimars figure in it, like a little basically it was
- 1:49:57Speaker 2: a little stuffed animal. Right, But they to learn from
- 1:50:00Speaker 2: Batista that these little stuffed animals are like grenades. You
- 1:50:03Speaker 2: pull the tag and throw them, and the stuffed animal
- 1:50:06Speaker 2: will expand into like a live version of there of
- 1:50:09Speaker 2: like the creature that it represents. So like Bautista literally
- 1:50:13Speaker 2: has like an army of these things, Like he will
- 1:50:16Speaker 2: get his inventory is filled with them. He'll pull them out,
- 1:50:19Speaker 2: pull the tag, throw them, like throw a like a
- 1:50:22Speaker 2: dozen of them, and they'll like pop up and fight
- 1:50:24Speaker 2: for him. M So it's really cool. It it's really cool.
- 1:50:32Speaker 2: They actually meet him out. This is like right after this,
- 1:50:34Speaker 2: they actually do meet Bautista, because Bautista had the same
- 1:50:39Speaker 2: quests as them to kill the magistrate. But like, since
- 1:50:42Speaker 2: they did it first, he ends up taking there. He
- 1:50:45Speaker 2: ends up taking the Carl ends up taking the the
- 1:50:49Speaker 2: credit for it, and uh, like it's a bit of
- 1:50:52Speaker 2: an apology. He tells Carl gives him that Kimars figure
- 1:50:55Speaker 2: as an apology, but keeps that glass case because apparently
- 1:50:59Speaker 2: the the glass case itself is like a special kind
- 1:51:02Speaker 2: of case, like it's virtually indestructible and can contain almost anything. Uh.
- 1:51:08Speaker 2: They track down the undebt. They track down miss Quill's
- 1:51:15Speaker 2: undeat husband to like a warehouse. Uh. It turns out
- 1:51:18Speaker 2: like the what the warehouse this uh warehouse is like
- 1:51:21Speaker 2: where the guards of the settlement are manufactured from. Because
- 1:51:26Speaker 2: the guards are these like really high level automatons, so
- 1:51:29Speaker 2: like they're like like each one's like level of ninety
- 1:51:33Speaker 2: got them. So they're all there for like where the
- 1:51:38Speaker 2: crawlers are right now, like their current levels, it's almost
- 1:51:40Speaker 2: impossible to destroy them. Yeah. And when they when they
- 1:51:47Speaker 2: track down uh miss Quill's undeat husband, Remix, Uh, they
- 1:51:52Speaker 2: find out that Remix is uh. They thought that he
- 1:51:56Speaker 2: is like a like an undead lich or a burrough boss,
- 1:51:59Speaker 2: but turns out he's not. And turns out he is
- 1:52:02Speaker 2: what is called a soul leech capacitor uh and that
- 1:52:06Speaker 2: ms Quill was using him as like a form of
- 1:52:08Speaker 2: summoning and using his and using the soul energy he
- 1:52:11Speaker 2: leaches from the town's soul crystal to catch the Final war.
- 1:52:16Speaker 2: So like, uh, it's like a basically end of the
- 1:52:19Speaker 2: world scenario where it's gonna blow.
- 1:52:22Speaker 1: Everything up of course like a shit.
- 1:52:26Speaker 2: And they got a new quest called The Fools Who
- 1:52:28Speaker 2: Broke the Glass. Uh. So here I'm gonna read you
- 1:52:33Speaker 2: the description because like as always, the AI has a
- 1:52:36Speaker 2: really fucked up description for everything. Uh. New quest the
- 1:52:40Speaker 2: full the Fools who Broke the Glass. This is a
- 1:52:43Speaker 2: group quest. All crawlers currently within the forty five square
- 1:52:47Speaker 2: kilometer Blastratus will receive this quest. Your party has been
- 1:52:50Speaker 2: denignative hopes of this group quest. Hope you will not
- 1:52:53Speaker 2: be allowed to opt out from this quest. What the
- 1:52:56Speaker 2: hell is going on? Am I glad you asked? A
- 1:53:00Speaker 2: lot back, a certain NPC started casting a very powerful spell,
- 1:53:03Speaker 2: a spell so potent that it had to be completed
- 1:53:06Speaker 2: by a future generation. Here's the thing with old spells,
- 1:53:10Speaker 2: They're like trees. They grow, they get big, sometimes huge.
- 1:53:13Speaker 2: That shit happens when they get screwed up. The bigger
- 1:53:16Speaker 2: the spell, the batter the shit. And boy was this
- 1:53:19Speaker 2: spell big. Not gonna lie your favorite AI was looking
- 1:53:23Speaker 2: forward to it going off. Oh, well, this was almost
- 1:53:27Speaker 2: as good. This will be almost as good. Shit is
- 1:53:30Speaker 2: about to go down. For example, you may have noticed
- 1:53:32Speaker 2: every sky fowl and Chicka d NPC in this area
- 1:53:35Speaker 2: has fallen ill. Most of them have already plunged into
- 1:53:37Speaker 2: a coma or death. It's not their fault, but they
- 1:53:40Speaker 2: were tied to the spell. And that's just the way
- 1:53:43Speaker 2: it is. Just like, it's not your fault that you
- 1:53:45Speaker 2: will that you happen to be within forty five kilometers
- 1:53:48Speaker 2: of the fallout from this failed spell. Again, not your fault. Well,
- 1:53:51Speaker 2: unless your crawler is Carl, Princess Donut or Katya Grim,
- 1:53:54Speaker 2: then it is your fault. That's just the way of
- 1:53:58Speaker 2: it sucks to be.
- 1:53:59Speaker 1: You call them out.
- 1:54:02Speaker 2: There's going to be an explosion. The epicenter of the
- 1:54:04Speaker 2: blast is marked on your map. Every crawler within the
- 1:54:08Speaker 2: designated blast area is fucked. The object of this of
- 1:54:13Speaker 2: the quest is simple, unfunck yourself, don't die. This is
- 1:54:18Speaker 2: an event quest. If you do not want to participate
- 1:54:20Speaker 2: in this quest, you will have sixty seconds from the
- 1:54:23Speaker 2: end of this message to get yourself yourselves into a
- 1:54:26Speaker 2: safe room. After that, all access to safe rooms within
- 1:54:29Speaker 2: the quest zone will be shut off until the event
- 1:54:32Speaker 2: quest is concluded. All NPCs who remain indoors safe rooms
- 1:54:37Speaker 2: are not will remain safe. All mobs and neighborhood level
- 1:54:40Speaker 2: boss monsters within the blackbrated subject of both physical and
- 1:54:43Speaker 2: magical explosions will be killed reward. All participants who survive
- 1:54:47Speaker 2: will receive a platinum quest box. Oh, by the way,
- 1:54:50Speaker 2: the explosion is coming, is coming in seven minutes.
- 1:54:53Speaker 1: Run done, of course, of course, of course.
- 1:55:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:55:05Speaker 1: I love how he calls him out.
- 1:55:08Speaker 2: Yeah, he really does. Uh. So the thing is is
- 1:55:13Speaker 2: that the epicenters is going to come from a soul
- 1:55:17Speaker 2: jem that the spell was, basically that the spell was
- 1:55:20Speaker 2: being siphoned through. So Carl figures out that he could
- 1:55:24Speaker 2: place the soule jem in that instructible, that indestructible glass
- 1:55:27Speaker 2: case he got from this Quill's office. So he does
- 1:55:30Speaker 2: that and puts it in his and puts this and
- 1:55:33Speaker 2: puts the glass case in his inventory, effectively canceling out
- 1:55:37Speaker 2: the explosion. Yeah, and when he checks an inventory later,
- 1:55:42Speaker 2: he sees that the glass case is now labeled Carl's
- 1:55:45Speaker 2: doomsday scenario.
- 1:55:48Speaker 1: Run the credits. Wait, there's more after credits, scene after credit, like.
- 1:55:58Speaker 2: Wait, you thought, oh, you thought we were done them.
- 1:56:00Speaker 1: Oh no, no, no, no, doomsday scenario is not the
- 1:56:06Speaker 1: end of it.
- 1:56:07Speaker 2: Uh. You see, after taking the uh the explosive, the
- 1:56:13Speaker 2: explosive very volatile soul gem into his inventory, Remix starts
- 1:56:19Speaker 2: to convulse and begins emitting these waves of magical foreshock.
- 1:56:26Speaker 2: And every time a wave blasts out, it causes magical
- 1:56:31Speaker 2: effects of gear. Uh it knocks them out or it
- 1:56:34Speaker 2: causes them to misfire. So basically, the first blast knocks
- 1:56:39Speaker 2: out the magical effects of gear from the party. The
- 1:56:43Speaker 2: second blast activates weapons, causing like other crawlers to like
- 1:56:47Speaker 2: explode uh. And after like the third and fourth, after
- 1:56:53Speaker 2: the third and fourth blast waves uh doughnuts crowned, the
- 1:56:57Speaker 2: substance the sepsis horror explodes like it just it gets destroyed,
- 1:57:03Speaker 2: though the effects of it are like of it aren't gone.
- 1:57:06Speaker 1: They're still there.
- 1:57:08Speaker 2: And the fourth activates uh like crawl like hotless items
- 1:57:13Speaker 2: and crawlers inventory because there's like a hotless that they
- 1:57:16Speaker 2: can quick activate like mainly used for like uh like health, oceans,
- 1:57:20Speaker 2: healing scrolls, or other special effects. So if you had
- 1:57:23Speaker 2: like a weapon or like an explosive in your hotless
- 1:57:26Speaker 2: it's gonna go off. Yeah, And uh, the thing is
- 1:57:33Speaker 2: is that before they answered the ware, how the depot
- 1:57:37Speaker 2: that the wear that Remox was in the ware how,
- 1:57:41Speaker 2: they had lined it with a bunch of explosives explosives
- 1:57:44Speaker 2: before going in as like a failed safe. So Katia
- 1:57:47Speaker 2: sets off the explosives to destroy the to destroy the
- 1:57:50Speaker 2: sore depot, hoping that it will like stop this like catastrophe,
- 1:57:55Speaker 2: this catastrophic uh like magical doom, stay away, like goom'
- 1:58:00Speaker 2: stay explosive. That's still gonna go off because the because
- 1:58:04Speaker 2: the AI still is like oh cool, well, like cool,
- 1:58:11Speaker 2: you stopped the do you stopped the first explosion? What
- 1:58:13Speaker 2: are you gonna do about the second one? Right? Because
- 1:58:16Speaker 2: there I wasn't about to let this go. He was like, yeah, okay, cool,
- 1:58:19Speaker 2: you stop this one. We're gonna about this one now.
- 1:58:22Speaker 2: Because Remix that himself now became the source of a
- 1:58:26Speaker 2: new like catastrophic explosion. Like the first one was just
- 1:58:29Speaker 2: gonna blow up. This new one is now causing magical
- 1:58:32Speaker 2: gear to malfunction. And the thing is because Carl is
- 1:58:37Speaker 2: now wearing a pair of boxers that give him special
- 1:58:40Speaker 2: magical effects. He had he was forced to shuck the
- 1:58:44Speaker 2: fucking boxers, and his old pair of boxers are god,
- 1:58:48Speaker 2: so he can't put those on. So now he's running
- 1:58:52Speaker 2: like he had. He had to take off his cape too,
- 1:58:53Speaker 2: because he has he has a spectable like night wing cape,
- 1:58:57Speaker 2: and he takes that off. He takes up all his
- 1:58:58Speaker 2: magical gear, leaving him in just his bomber jacket, his
- 1:59:01Speaker 2: wife beaters and nothing else.
- 1:59:04Speaker 1: He is and tell you, I.
- 1:59:06Speaker 2: Gotta tell you, this is probably what the funniest thing
- 1:59:09Speaker 2: that ever happened in this entire book, because now we
- 1:59:11Speaker 2: have a half naked Carl. Carl was already half naked.
- 1:59:14Speaker 2: Now he is literally Donald ducking it through the streets
- 1:59:17Speaker 2: of this settlement, trying to get away from this new
- 1:59:19Speaker 2: from this second explosion.
- 1:59:20Speaker 1: He sure is, uh huh, he sure is.
- 1:59:25Speaker 2: And so because this is this new explosion is gonna
- 1:59:30Speaker 2: be bigger, and it's gonna and it's gonna basically kill
- 1:59:32Speaker 2: every crawler in the vicinity, Carl starts like like sending
- 1:59:37Speaker 2: out messages to like all of like the other dungeon
- 1:59:40Speaker 2: crawlers that he's met so far, telling him to just
- 1:59:43Speaker 2: get to the stairs, to the staircases, to the third
- 1:59:46Speaker 2: to the next floor and just go go down the staircase.
- 1:59:49Speaker 2: If you're not able to get into the safe room,
- 1:59:51Speaker 2: go down the stairs. Because they weren't able to. Unfortunately,
- 1:59:55Speaker 2: they weren't able to enter the safe room because they
- 1:59:57Speaker 2: already missed the They already missed the uh the time
- 2:00:02Speaker 2: of safety right where they can enter the state room.
- 2:00:04Speaker 2: And no, and the nearest safe rooms that other crawlers
- 2:00:09Speaker 2: could get to were too far away. So he started
- 2:00:11Speaker 2: calling out to everyone, sending messages to everyone and telling
- 2:00:14Speaker 2: them to said to any other crawlers they know, get
- 2:00:17Speaker 2: to the stairway, go to the next floor. We're still
- 2:00:21Speaker 2: gonna we may have two days to go, but until
- 2:00:24Speaker 2: the next floor, until this floor collapse, but just go
- 2:00:28Speaker 2: we you don't got a choice. So there's there's Carl
- 2:00:32Speaker 2: Donald ducking it through the streets right to make it
- 2:00:37Speaker 2: to the stairway, and he he had done it, and
- 2:00:39Speaker 2: Kattia managed to make it to the staircase, and they
- 2:00:42Speaker 2: go down to the next floor. They wake up to
- 2:00:45Speaker 2: they appear on the fourth floor two days later. Because
- 2:00:48Speaker 2: when you go down the stairs before the floor is
- 2:00:52Speaker 2: built about to collapse, you're actually gonna be put into
- 2:00:54Speaker 2: like a stasis and You're just gonna be what you're
- 2:00:57Speaker 2: gonna be in stasism until the until the floor collapse,
- 2:01:00Speaker 2: and at that point you'll be released into the next floor. So,
- 2:01:05Speaker 2: having two and a half days left, they learned that
- 2:01:07Speaker 2: the explosion that Katia set off to destroy the depot
- 2:01:11Speaker 2: actually stopped the final blast. So they ran down the
- 2:01:15Speaker 2: stairs for no reason, and a lot of crawlers and
- 2:01:19Speaker 2: NPC's are actually saved because of that. And when they
- 2:01:23Speaker 2: did that, it caused a new achievement to appear. It
- 2:01:27Speaker 2: gave every surviving crawler an achievement called the Bandit achievement.
- 2:01:34Speaker 2: Here's a description new achievement. Bandit screw Hadji. Hadji was
- 2:01:39Speaker 2: a little bitch. Anyway, You have completed a quest, but
- 2:01:41Speaker 2: it was completed in a way unusual enough to trigger
- 2:01:44Speaker 2: the Bandit achievement. Unlike the real Bandit, who is usually
- 2:01:48Speaker 2: instrumental in helping Johnny quest complete his taxed you didn't.
- 2:01:52Speaker 6: Actually do anything to do to deserve this prize, but
- 2:01:54Speaker 6: that's okay because you're still getting it. This is one
- 2:01:57Speaker 6: of the rare achievements that can be rewarded more than
- 2:01:59Speaker 6: one reward. Your Platinum Box quests, your Platinum Quest box
- 2:02:04Speaker 6: has been upgraded two times to a Celestial Quest box.
- 2:02:09Speaker 2: So I've mentioned breees like like I've mentioned briefly before
- 2:02:14Speaker 2: that depending on the type of achievement you get, can
- 2:02:17Speaker 2: give you like special loot boxes ranging from like just
- 2:02:21Speaker 2: common bronze boxes or like other types of boxes like
- 2:02:25Speaker 2: common loot boxes to like silver, gold, platinum, legendary, and
- 2:02:31Speaker 2: the most rare one, the Celestial box. Depending on which
- 2:02:36Speaker 2: one you get, it can be a lot, it can
- 2:02:40Speaker 2: be like the type of shit you get in these
- 2:02:42Speaker 2: boxes are pretty powerful, and the Celestial box gives you
- 2:02:46Speaker 2: the most powerful gear, like you have a really high
- 2:02:48Speaker 2: chance of getting a very rare celestial item. Now, the
- 2:02:53Speaker 2: thing is is that this resulted like over eighty three
- 2:02:58Speaker 2: crawlers got this achievement, each and every one of them
- 2:03:01Speaker 2: got a Celestial box. Here's the problem. Celestial boxes are
- 2:03:05Speaker 2: exuberantly expensive. They are ridiculously expensive, so expensive that just
- 2:03:13Speaker 2: giving out one can put a can put the showrunners
- 2:03:16Speaker 2: in debt. So the Boriant Corporation was forced to put
- 2:03:21Speaker 2: a veto in So despite everyone getting these loop boxes,
- 2:03:25Speaker 2: because of the veto, they the b loop boxes were
- 2:03:29Speaker 2: taken away, but not before one crawler managed to open one,
- 2:03:34Speaker 2: and that crawler is a guy named Kwan. I gotta
- 2:03:39Speaker 2: tell you, guys, you're gonna come to hate this dude
- 2:03:41Speaker 2: as much as I do because quanh.
- 2:03:46Speaker 1: Yeah that guy.
- 2:03:48Speaker 2: Fuck that guy all right. He is what is called
- 2:03:51Speaker 2: a stat steeler, like a killer, like he's killer. No,
- 2:03:56Speaker 2: he's not a player killer because he doesn't kill other players.
- 2:03:58Speaker 2: Now what he does is that, uh he steals like
- 2:04:04Speaker 2: he steals XP. So like let's say you're let's say
- 2:04:10Speaker 2: you're in the middle of fighting a boss.
- 2:04:12Speaker 1: Right, he comes in the last second and takes the
- 2:04:14Speaker 1: final blow.
- 2:04:16Speaker 2: Yep, stealing all of the XP, getting all of the
- 2:04:19Speaker 2: achievements right. In fact, like part of his class is
- 2:04:23Speaker 2: like his class is literally built around stealing achievements and
- 2:04:26Speaker 2: stealing XP. So the more times he does it, the
- 2:04:30Speaker 2: more shit and the more XP he gets. Right, And
- 2:04:33Speaker 2: now he has a celestial level item, so he gets
- 2:04:37Speaker 2: like a special rope that gives him like some really
- 2:04:40Speaker 2: like powerful abilities and he ends up using it a lot. Like,
- 2:04:45Speaker 2: uh so, if your class or race gives you the
- 2:04:49Speaker 2: ability to fly, you're not gonna be able to use
- 2:04:51Speaker 2: those flight abilities until the sixth floor. Well, because of
- 2:04:55Speaker 2: this celestial item, Kwan can now fly regardless of that,
- 2:05:00Speaker 2: regardless of that restriction, and it also gives them some
- 2:05:03Speaker 2: extra like really powerful spells like a lightning bolt spell
- 2:05:06Speaker 2: and a few other like stat boosts. We're gonna see
- 2:05:10Speaker 2: it more in the next couple of floors. But he
- 2:05:14Speaker 2: ends up popping up several times, pissing off Carl to
- 2:05:17Speaker 2: the point where Carl actually straight up wants to kill
- 2:05:19Speaker 2: this guy. Like yeah, he ends up like making decision
- 2:05:21Speaker 2: like if I if I run into Kwan again, if
- 2:05:23Speaker 2: I run to quand cch again, it's on site, because
- 2:05:27Speaker 2: like Kwan really derails several of Carl's plans on almost
- 2:05:33Speaker 2: cost him in some of his friend's life. So Carl's like,
- 2:05:36Speaker 2: all right, Kwan, get my hands on you sick.
- 2:05:39Speaker 1: It's on site.
- 2:05:40Speaker 2: It's on site. So Kwan is the only person who
- 2:05:44Speaker 2: gets a celestial box. Unfortunately, after this floor, they actually
- 2:05:49Speaker 2: start introducing what it's called leaderboard, so it shows like
- 2:05:52Speaker 2: every floor they can now see who's like in the
- 2:05:56Speaker 2: top ten and Carl and don't see that they're now
- 2:06:00Speaker 2: on the top ten. And since they're now just opening
- 2:06:04Speaker 2: on the first they're now just entering the next floor,
- 2:06:08Speaker 2: they are immediately called in for their for their floor
- 2:06:11Speaker 2: lye uh interview with Odette and actually warns Carl about
- 2:06:18Speaker 2: heckless plans for Donut, and she also warns him about
- 2:06:23Speaker 2: uh a specific god sponsored god called Grol, and that
- 2:06:31Speaker 2: Prince Stalwart is sponsoring Grol. So having so since there's
- 2:06:36Speaker 2: a sponsored god, uh, since there's like one of the
- 2:06:40Speaker 2: syndicate races of sponsoring God in the ascendancy, this god
- 2:06:44Speaker 2: can prove to be like very problematic for them in
- 2:06:47Speaker 2: the future. So they got to avoid anything to do
- 2:06:49Speaker 2: with Grol because since staal Wart is the one controlling Grawl, now, yeah,
- 2:06:54Speaker 2: that can anything to do with Gral can backfire against them.
- 2:06:58Speaker 2: And she also warns them of Hecla's plans because the
- 2:07:01Speaker 2: thing is, even though Hecla invited Carl and Donut to
- 2:07:06Speaker 2: the to her party, it's hinted that Hecla only really
- 2:07:10Speaker 2: wants Donut.
- 2:07:11Speaker 1: Of course he doesn't want no metal around.
- 2:07:16Speaker 2: And also the Skull Empire has put a bounty on
- 2:07:18Speaker 2: the crawling Donuts.
- 2:07:20Speaker 1: Said, of course they did. Of course at this point,
- 2:07:23Speaker 1: you're just like you got anything else.
- 2:07:28Speaker 2: Oh, congratulations, you're on the leaderboards. Now you're done.
- 2:07:32Speaker 1: Oh you're a target.
- 2:07:35Speaker 2: Like, oh joy, I'm a target now, lovely. We love
- 2:07:39Speaker 2: being targets.
- 2:07:40Speaker 1: We love it here, we love that for us.
- 2:07:45Speaker 5: So anyway, guys, that was book three, Book two, Book
- 2:07:52Speaker 5: two two two, which takes place on floor three, dungeon
- 2:07:58Speaker 5: crawler carls Carl's doomsday scenario.
- 2:08:03Speaker 2: So I enjoyed this book. I like, like, I inhaled
- 2:08:08Speaker 2: these books. It took me like a month just to
- 2:08:12Speaker 2: read all of them except the seventh one. The yeah,
- 2:08:17Speaker 2: the seventh one, which took me a little bit longer
- 2:08:19Speaker 2: to read because like I finished reading the first sixth
- 2:08:21Speaker 2: and I had to wait another month for the last
- 2:08:23Speaker 2: for the seventh one to come out, And when I
- 2:08:25Speaker 2: got the seventh one, like life got really busy for me,
- 2:08:28Speaker 2: so I wasn't able to like read through the whole
- 2:08:30Speaker 2: thing as fast as I wanted to, So I only
- 2:08:33Speaker 2: recently just finished it. But I love these books. It's
- 2:08:37Speaker 2: such a fun read because it's so unserious, but it's
- 2:08:40Speaker 2: so like it's gritty, it's comedic, it's uh, you know,
- 2:08:44Speaker 2: it's relatable, and you just come to love these characters
- 2:08:49Speaker 2: like I love Carl, I love Donut, all right, Katia.
- 2:08:52Speaker 2: At first, I wasn't really sure abou Katya because I
- 2:08:54Speaker 2: thought she was just she was giving cannon fodder. I
- 2:08:59Speaker 2: thought she was gonna kill get killed off pretty quick.
- 2:09:01Speaker 2: But she turns out to be one of the more
- 2:09:03Speaker 2: pivotabal like pivotal characters in this entire book series. Yeah,
- 2:09:12Speaker 2: got a.
- 2:09:12Speaker 1: Lover, lover her mom, mom, mama and Papa and her
- 2:09:19Speaker 1: and Carl mom and pop up.
- 2:09:22Speaker 2: They don't actually ever get together, so I will I
- 2:09:25Speaker 2: will tell you that. Don't get your hot your wow.
- 2:09:27Speaker 1: Wow. I'm still on book like five and you just
- 2:09:31Speaker 1: my dreams are crushed. How dare you? How dare you?
- 2:09:35Speaker 2: You dare? And then of course and then of course, guys,
- 2:09:38Speaker 2: remember if you do purchase uh Dungeon Crawler Carls, I
- 2:09:42Speaker 2: do highly recommend the Ace uh uh the Ace hardcover
- 2:09:46Speaker 2: copies because they do come with that little extra behind
- 2:09:50Speaker 2: the scenes with Pineapple Cabaret. So it's really interesting and
- 2:09:54Speaker 2: it's building up to something and I'm here for it
- 2:09:57Speaker 2: and I want to see more of it. So I
- 2:10:00Speaker 2: thank you guys for tuning in. We are gonna be
- 2:10:03Speaker 2: we are going to be coming back to the Dungeon
- 2:10:05Speaker 2: Crawlers series soon. We're gonna be reviewing the next book
- 2:10:08Speaker 2: of the series, which is, uh, the Dungeon Anarchist Cookbook.
- 2:10:14Speaker 1: Yes, and that one will do. It'll be next month
- 2:10:17Speaker 1: because normally, because like I was saying before, with the
- 2:10:20Speaker 1: first start of the series, we play on doing at
- 2:10:22Speaker 1: least one or two at least a month that kind
- 2:10:25Speaker 1: of spread out the series. The next month there's gonna
- 2:10:28Speaker 1: be one episode and then so on and so forth,
- 2:10:31Speaker 1: so you'll get them in there spread out throughout the year.
- 2:10:35Speaker 1: Like this one.
- 2:10:37Speaker 2: I like it. Yeah, this one was probably one of
- 2:10:38Speaker 2: my favorites because like the first of the Chonkier books,
- 2:10:42Speaker 2: this is bigger than the than the second book.
- 2:10:46Speaker 1: The Trains the train station.
- 2:10:49Speaker 2: It's taking place, so like the third floor is the
- 2:10:53Speaker 2: start of the themed floors, because the first two floors
- 2:10:55Speaker 2: were just kind of like bland and they're pretty much
- 2:10:58Speaker 2: the same, uh, and then now they're in like if
- 2:11:01Speaker 2: every floor is going to have a different theme. Now
- 2:11:04Speaker 2: for three, six, nine, and twelve are going to be
- 2:11:07Speaker 2: like part of the like the Scolopendra storyline, and but
- 2:11:11Speaker 2: everything in between is just gonna be like something different.
- 2:11:14Speaker 2: So for the the Dungeon Anarchists, Book three is Book three.
- 2:11:22Speaker 2: Book three is gonna be Uh, it's gonna be taking
- 2:11:25Speaker 2: place in what's called the Iron Tangle, which is like
- 2:11:28Speaker 2: a labyrinth of subway tunnels. Uh. This one's a really
- 2:11:32Speaker 2: interesting read. It was very like it was chaotic, but
- 2:11:38Speaker 2: it was there was like a lot of like uh
- 2:11:41Speaker 2: like problem solving, like they were trying to figure out
- 2:11:43Speaker 2: like how to like navigate the the subway systems, like
- 2:11:47Speaker 2: how to avoid these new stronger and more deadly uh
- 2:11:52Speaker 2: more deadly mobs. And this is also where we see
- 2:11:55Speaker 2: like Carl starts calling together all these like all of
- 2:11:59Speaker 2: these dungeon crawlers, Like he's really starts really pushing for
- 2:12:04Speaker 2: cal for all these crawlers to start working together instead
- 2:12:06Speaker 2: of being these like like independent agents. And we also
- 2:12:12Speaker 2: we also start learning more about like certain player killers
- 2:12:16Speaker 2: that give Carl and Donuts some grief. But uh, we
- 2:12:22Speaker 2: will talk more about that next time we review Dungeon
- 2:12:25Speaker 2: Crawler Carl, So look forward to that. Next week, we
- 2:12:28Speaker 2: are actually gonna be.
- 2:12:29Speaker 1: Reviewing issue wells War of the World's War the Worlds.
- 2:12:36Speaker 2: We're gonna be doing the War of the Worlds. I
- 2:12:39Speaker 2: find I finally got around to reading that book that
- 2:12:41Speaker 2: is a classic book and it's one of the classic books.
- 2:12:44Speaker 2: In fact, it is the first book to ever depict
- 2:12:47Speaker 2: an alien invasion. Before that book, there was never there
- 2:12:50Speaker 2: had never been anything like it. There have been other
- 2:12:52Speaker 2: side science fiction novels like of course Frankenstein, Dracula and
- 2:12:57Speaker 2: things like that. But is she Well's book was the
- 2:13:01Speaker 2: first book that incorporated aliens and the idea of aliens
- 2:13:05Speaker 2: invading Earth to try to take our world. So that's
- 2:13:08Speaker 2: something that I had never been done before. So you
- 2:13:12Speaker 2: think about it. Nothing like before that, no one had
- 2:13:17Speaker 2: ever used that idea. No one ever really gave much
- 2:13:19Speaker 2: thought of, Like, oh, what if there's life on other worlds?
- 2:13:21Speaker 2: And then here comes HG. Well It's just like oh
