- Ted Turner: Good evening, Dog Nation. Welcome to Dogs Down South. Hope you're having a great Wednesday night, getting ready to fire up week three of college football and obviously Georgia football. it's gonna be a really cool show tonight. I got my man Fish on the ones and twos. What's up, man? How's your day going? Adam Fisher: What's up man? Good, good. Not dying of heat. There was actually a break in the heat wave. It was actually eighty nine in Savannah today, so that's awesome. Like I can't express Ted Turner: Yeah, n not in Adam Fisher: how awesome that is. Ted Turner: Not in Florida, bro. I couldn't even it was so hot. My door has this automatic lock thing where you put the code in and like the little thing moves. And I guess towards the sun is is where like towards the afternoon it beads on the door, man. And the panel wouldn't even react. It was so hot today, man. It was like I I was hitting, I was tapping the code in and it was like wigging out, man. And I'm like, after a long day, I just want to get in the door. And it wasn't Adam Fisher: Mm-hmm. Ted Turner: cooperating, man. So it was really agitating. And so I had to step away, count the ten, come back and thank Adam Fisher: Who saw? Ted Turner: God my wife let me in. So yeah, so it it I'm I'm hoping for that. we're supposed to see some fall temperatures in the morning or some fall esque temperatures in the morning. I've heard seventy five, seventy one. Apparently there's this wit weird weather coming in our way 'cause of El Nino. We'll take it, right? We'll take it at the end of the Adam Fisher: Super, Ted Turner: day. Adam Fisher: El Nino. Ted Turner: Super El Nino. man. Well, listen, hey, we hope everybody's doing well tonight. I went solo dolo last night on episode 20, talked a little bit about recapping Western Kentucky, some things that we learned, some takeaways that we had from the Western Kentucky game. Fish, we're gonna talk ease of victory as we open SEC play tonight. but really quick before we do, what's your take? What did you how did you what'd you learn from Western Kentucky this past weekend? good, bad, and different? What'd you think? Adam Fisher: The only thing bad I can say is that it was kinda sloppy at the end, just kinda like the first week, you know. Fumbling, you know, penalties, you know, stuff like that, stupid things happening, but that's that's only when the starters aren't on the field, which is a good sign, you know, 'cause you know, it this is you know, growing pains for those, you know, second and third string kids. I I learned that I'm not very worried. Like I'm very confident. I'm more confident at this point this season than I was at this point last season. Like by tenfold. Like so much more confident. Everything looks good. Everything looks great. You know, I know the level of competition is kinda whatever, sketchy, but we played two teams that were just as weak, I guess. I don't know what the prop you know, not not you know, not in the same level as Georgia, you know, cash for clunker games, I guess you could call So and we looked awful, you know, not being able to run it in from the goal line and four attempts against Austin P. You know, I was actually there for that and that was embarrassing. You know, but none of that this year. You know, a hundred and thirty three points in two games. Georgia's never done that. That's awesome. So, you know Just just loving the good football, man, loving the the vibe, the energy, you know, that they're playing with. You know, it's great. It's been a lot of fun to watch. Ted Turner: you know, obviously I I went over it in detail, but we're obviously not playing as strong of a schedule as others. And some people have asked, you know, Nick will regret that or but you know, scheduling is weird. It's a weird beast. I mean, when you look at some of these teams and the amount of money that not just Georgia but other teams are paying to get teams to come in and get on the schedule. you know, it's not it's not all under our control per se, right? Unless we are putting something out there that's inviting for T V and and to do that, you know, you have to do a Texas, Ohio State thing. And I think, you know, some concerns about Texas and Ohio State are is, you know, when Sarkeesian has to go on T V and go, Well well, I don't think I don't think anybody should you know, warrant a I guess the word for it was a was a tick on the record. When you go in there and lose by one point, you know, to Texas and it's like, wow, I didn't know if that was a a statement on Ohio State side or more of a boast and a brag for Texas, you know, and it's so it's like, but you don't have to really even make that call if, you know, you s SEC goes to a nine game slate. Some people chose to play big time games. some people just happen to have big time SEC openers like this weekend with Ole Miss and and L S U. but all in all, I mean, I think I mentioned it. You you reiterated it. I think the big take is that Georgia really didn't play with their food like they did from last year, right? They got in there, they scored effectively. They made drives look easy with the with the ones. I think Kirby's biggest thing, and I said it last night too, was he just wanted those third and fourth string guys, maybe some of the second string guys, to finish the game as strong and intense as the as the starter. began the game. And I think that's kind of what the lackluster thing was. I don't think Western Kentucky did anything crazy to just expose us and score twenty points and make it a it wasn't a game at all, right? But I think from the it just didn't feel like we finished wrong, you know, and so it's a little lackluster and it's honestly what we're used to seeing sometimes from last year of in the in in in in retrospect. Like we started slow, but we well that's the Georgia team we know. And then You know, you get into SEC f you know, what is it? SEC, the final show of the night where they're showing scores over and over and all you keep hearing Adam Fisher: Yeah, S E C final. Ted Turner: is yeah, SEC final. All you keep hearing is like Georgia did you know what they were supposed to. It wasn't pretty. You know, this time around, when you do it the right way, you just don't even get covered. It's weird. It it's a weird dynamic, man. I I don't know, but any standouts to you? I mean, like what was what were a couple of things that just stood out to you on offensive defense against Western Kentucky? Adam Fisher: Just the the wealth of options that Gunner has. You know, I don't I don't know, I can't remember the exact numbers, but a lot of people have scored touchdowns, caught passes, seeing significant playing time. Heck I mean, we've got 133 points and our leading receiver has a hundred and four yards. So, you know, and Gunnar's got eight touchdown passes. And, you know, so we're we're throwing the ball around, but all the everybody's seeing it. Like everybody's seeing action and getting the ball. Like they're spreading it out really good. Now I don't know if we're gonna be able to keep that up. You know, it'd be great if we could, you know, going into the, you know, meat and potatoes, as you like to say, of our SEC schedule. You know, it's gonna be a lot harder to do that. We're gonna have to, you know, go with what we know will work, you know, and but I mean it's been a lot of fun to watch, dude. Like This is something this is unprecedented for Georgia. Like this is something this is history. This is something that no Georgia fan alive right now has ever seen. Like we're in uncharted territory and it's awesome. And I'm glad I'm alive to see it. Ted Turner: Yeah. Yeah, no, that's that that's that's good. That that's a good word, man, because I do think that you know, we you you never know how the package is gonna be wrapped. Everybody always thinks, well there's gonna be this receiver that just stands out and what about this, you know, what about and and really it's like it's packaged completely different than anybody saw it coming. so definitely so far, kudos to and and it's gotta go up against, as you say, different competition. I don't know The level of competition. I know it's a true SEC road game. these guys haven't been on Adam Fisher: Eleven AM. Ted Turner: the road. we open up on the road in SEC play, so that's a little bit different. But but we're gonna hop into it. We're gonna put Western Kentucky to bed. I think what we wanna do, what we wanna give dog fans is tonight is I think we want to give them five offensive keys for Georgia to win, five defensive keys. I think we want to talk about some surprise players that have kind of reared their head and and I think want to make a little bit of a splash in how we perform this year and and and who and how they're going to add to the dynamic of this team. but before we do that, I thought it'd be cool to break the ice fish and really I guess banter about a a couple of topics that have already arisen. but the question I want to pose tonight is is Do we think Gunnar Stockton after game one and two? And I'm not talking about statistic wise. We've looked at Gunner. We've seen we've had a good take on him, not for many snaps, once again, not for many quarters. But do we really think he has a Heisman chance this year? Everybody's put it out there and some people are irritated at the fact that it's like, well, where's Gunner in all this talk? He gets you know, he kind of gets lost in the weeds and but I mean Yeah, statistically he's gonna get lost in the weeds because he's not in the game for more than three or four series, right? Five series, but he's when he's in there, I mean, we're we're striking fast and it's impressive. but let's I mean, Gunnar Stockton, Heisman, are we saying he's gonna, you know, are we saying he's gotta win a Heisman for Georgia win a national championship? No, but like what do you think are some of the biggest things that could catapult him to that? Or maybe keep him from that? Like what are some of those things that come to mind, fish? Adam Fisher: I don't know, but he's not getting any love. He's on no list that I've seen that has Heisman candidates on it. You know, but if you compare stats, especially to Arch, like that man is the most entitled person in college football right now. And it's his name. If like and and and I know everybody you know, this is this is old, you know, this has been going on forever, but you know, if it was Arch Smith Nobody wouldn't l nobody would care. Check his stats. And where was he for the first three quarters against Ohio State? I mean, he was relatively non existent. They only mustered three points, you know, in three quarters. And yeah, they came back and won, but you can blame that moment mostly on Ohio State. Just kinda I don't know, stop trying. You know, just let come right back. Offense couldn't do anything, got really stagnant all of a sudden. You know, I like the I like Will Muschamp and I like to think, you know, he had a little something To do with that. I like seeing him and his squad do good, but you know what I I I'm tired of the arch hype. You know, like it's just it it's it's it's like all last season, all preseason, last season, and now like he comes out and I knew as soon as that game was over that this is all you're gonna hear about. And but it compare the stats. Like look at the stats. Gunner has way better stats right now through two games. Yes, I know level of competition, but you know. Same like who cares? You know, where is he? I d I but I know he's right where he wants to be. Like I know that he doesn't care about all that. And if the man doesn't win the Heisman, he'll be happy. Like there's nowhere to park his truck in New York anyway. So he doesn't want to drive all you know, he's not going up there. He doesn't want to go up there, he's not interested in all that. He just wants to go out there and win games. And and I love that about him. I am so glad he's our quarterback. Ted Turner: Yeah, I agree, man. I mean, extremely efficient. You look at Western Kentucky, five touchdowns, thirteen for sixteen. But what gets interesting is if Stockton like wants to become a legitimate Heisman candidate, I mean, what happens over the next few months? I I would say even over the next month and a half, is extremely I mean, this is the the kind of the hill you talk about. Like you gotta make a little bit of a climb, you gotta you gotta make sure you take care of business. against teams that you would expect in the SEC are not going to prove to be, should not prove to be big time tests. and then you got to take on some teams that are a little bit unpredictable right now. That kinda has been Oklahoma to fall in that mix. and we're going to talk about them, you know, we're going to talk about a little bit of that towards the end of of the night. But but also you got, you know, you got a Vanderbilt team that, you know, you look they're completely different than they were last year. I think Jared Curtis is going to be starting this weekend. it's probably the best thing they could have ever done. And then you and then you have a stint where you're gonna go to Tuscaloosa, you're gonna come back, you're gonna play Auburn at home. And then, you know, obviously later on in the year you got to go visit, you got to go visit Ole Miss, which we'll we'll catch that towards the end as well. But when you look at all that, the conversation gets serious because the questions for for for us tonight is is to kind of answer this question is is what does Gunnar Stockton have to do against Arkansas to kind of start that start that vibe. Now remember, we all know dog fans, like we're we have some superstitious dog fans who are like, man, what are why are we talking about Heisman? I'm not talking about it from the from the Adam Fisher: I'm one of them. Ted Turner: you know, from the sense of like I'm I'm just setting that as a separate thing to go, hey, Arch for Heisman should be a thing. But I am saying if you put the you know, if he's putting up Heisman numbers at the quarterback position with a combination of what we think the defense will look like and the running game will look like this year. That's just a recipe for success for Georgia to be definitely back in the playoffs and maybe even winning a national championship, right? So what is you know, we're gonna talk about keys, but like what is there any pressure on Gunner? Like, do you feel like he's or do you feel like he's in the best spot he possibly could be this year? Because I mean, maybe he likes flying below the radar. He's not showing up on a lot of ten deep lists as far as most impressive quarterbacks from week one, week two. I mean, what what do you think about that? Like, do you feel like is there any is any pressure on him? Do you feel like it that Heisman is even in the back of his mind right now? Adam Fisher: I don't think so. I mean I don't know him personally so it's hard to say but the vibe I get from him is no. You know, but I don't understand how you can have the first like the first two games your offense can score 133 points and your quarterback's not on that list. Like make that make sense. I i i you know, but but side you know you know, saying that, I'm glad he's not. You know, because you don't want it to creep in. But if I mean if we keep winning Ted Turner: Yeah. Adam Fisher: and we keep having success and he keeps, you know, having the, you know, y season he's having so far, then he's gonna be on those lists and how he handles that is gonna be huge in our success, I think. Ted Turner: Yeah. I mean you gotta think fish like realistically you're looking for more efficiency overall statistics with Gunner. That that's kind of what he's always been about. That's what that's what Kirby wants out of a starting quarterback. That's why I mean we've yet to really see even a Jerry Curtis land at Georgia, right? 'Cause I think when you look at the grind of what a Georgia quarterback is asked to do, I think efficiency is is on the top of the list. But my question to you is too is it's also I mean, if he is efficient, right? If he's leading Georgia toward the top of the SEC in November, right? We're getting through these games, we're balance, we're we're seeing anywhere from I don't think I could be wrong, but I don't I don't think we're gonna continue to see fifteen, seventeen different players touching the football for the success. I think we'll continue to spread the ball around. But obviously we're getting into tougher competition in the SEC. But does he automatically, if Georgia's climbing those ranks, does he become part of the conversation? And could we realistically talk about Gunnar as the Heisman finalist if per se a Georgia makes it back to an SEC championship and makes national championship run? Because isn't it just kind of the way of the the Heisman, you know, and when you look back, I mean, let's just be honest. Like when's the last time that I say this and it'll happen this year, but when's the last time, you know, you saw a linebacker or a cornerback or a wide receiver or, you know, as good a year as they ha you just kind of see quarterbacks in that range. And usually it's quarterbacks that are leading their teams to somewhere in the hunt of at least the semis or quarters with playoff, right? I I just I I feel like at the end of the day, like efficiency lined up with the realistic goal of what Georgia could possibly be by November if the defense lines up with how efficient the offense has looked. It's gonna be hard to keep his name out of. Why are we saying all this? Because a lot of dog fans are are really just like after two games, we always have those people that are like the sky's falling a little bit. Why? Because you're not seeing statistically the people that you wanna see on top of these lists. You feel like They're a little bit shunned. at the end of the day, like, I I don't think, I really don't think it's gonna matter. I think if if if he's efficient, I think if he's putting up the numbers he's supposed to, and George is winning football games, and we end up winning the SEC and end up making a playoff run, I think Gunnar Stockton will be firmly entrenched in that race. but here's my sidebar question is is the person that nobody's thinking about gonna have a better opportunity even than him to be talked about. for something as prestigious as the Heisman because I feel like Nate Frazier this year is just it's kind of running a little bit different, Fish. Like what's your take on Frazier? I mean, in the s like you said, the small little teaspoons doses we've seen of him, what's your take on Nate Frazier? Adam Fisher: Man, he's hitting the hole at a hundred miles an hour, dude. Man, he is that's that's what I've noticed. Like he gets the ball and he's pff I mean, he's shot out of a cannon. And, you know, our O line is big and beefy and they're pushing these guys out the way and he's just he's so fast, he's through the line. Like those defensive linemen got no chance. Like, you know, so he's making it to the second and third level just about every time he touches the ball and You're right. I mean he's he's running like a man possessed this year so far, man. And if he keeps it up, he'll he'll eclipse one thousand easy. Maybe before even the end of the season. Like I'm talking like fourteen, fifteen hundred. Ted Turner: Yeah. Yeah, that that that's definitely I've seen the same thing. I I just feel like he's he he looks different. He looks different. He he looks like he's put a little bit of of muscle on. We call it weight muscle. I think he's I think he's Adam Fisher: It's definitely muscle. Ted Turner: seeing I think he's seeing that front line a little slower. it's not so the game's not so fast to him this year. I think he's physical. I think he's explosive. I think he's I think I think So far you've also seen he's he's getting the ball. Like he's getting the ball immediately. Like and we're gonna talk keys to victory, but he's getting the ball immediately and he he seems like a back that Kirby looks like. All right. I know we have Chauncey, I know we have a a a ring of backs back there, but he he looks like the bell cow for Georgia this year. I feel like he's reliable. He's gonna be the bell cow and he's capable of taking over a game, Fish. That's the scary part. Like I feel like this is the year where he might be Scary enough to take over a game where it's like, how do you stop with this O line play? How do you stop Nate Fraser? Right. but like in the in the same realm, like could we be talking Nate for Heisman? I mean, we're we're we're automatically talking about, you know, if that happens, like Georgia hasn't seen a thousand yard rusher since who? DeAndre Swift? I think was the last Adam Fisher: Mm Ted Turner: thousand yard rusher? Adam Fisher: I I don't know if he ever got to a thousand. I'm Ted Turner: Maybe not. Adam Fisher: not sure. I'm thinking like maybe Chubb or Michelle. Ted Turner: say too, you even look back at Chubb Michelle and you go, Man, what were they capable of doing? It's just never been in the DNA of Georgia, but I but I also think this year, like it's just like Nate's a little bit different, man. He he's a little bit different. So this could easily be a conversation where I think for Georgia fans, and I'm kind of entertaining this tonight, Fish, because it's been talked about. I see it on chat threads, I see it on questions, and it's like, Why is Gunnar getting, you know, what I I think it's early. I think it's too early to kinda just get really hyped up about that. I think we're gonna get an SEC play. We're gonna see some separation even this weekend. I mean, you got you got a big game out in in Hottitoddeville. And we're gonna see two quarterbacks Adam Fisher: Northern Mississippi. Ted Turner: that are high on that list and they're gonna get they're gonna get critiqued, man. And they're gonna be in an atmosphere that you know that they're gonna be expected to perform. And so It'll it'll separate, but I think it's interesting to see, you know, can he be a guy that actually kind of comes out of nowhere and if George is doing all this, it's because of the difference maker that maybe the explosiveness of Gunnar Stockton and the offense is opening up the run game, maybe vice versa. It's it's it's all to tell, but we'll find out really soon because, you know, I know Nate is is in one of these keys to victory on offense, which we're gonna tackle right now. So as we transition, Arkansas is an eleven AM Central time game. So if you're an Arkansas fan, good luck tailgating. that's to your own dismay. I think you're you pretty much got us in this predicament, right? 12 o'clock for us. so when game day is still trying to figure out their picks, don't miss the kickoff. but fish let's hop in real quick. We're gonna go through real quick I'm gonna read straight through the offensive keys and then we're just let's just maybe pull a few out that really stand out to you and talk through them. But first thing I think is I I really feel like we've we've done this very well in the first two games, but I think establishing the run on the road in an SEC environment, regardless of who they are, is very, very you know it's it's it's a must. You you can't go into an SEC stadium and be one dimensional. I think so establishment of the run to free up Some of those throws that Gunner has been able to make the last two games will be key. second thing I would say is protect Gunner. I think the the line needs to get him comfortable on the road so that he can feel like the game plan and what he's been, I guess per se, the mindset he's been practicing, and the change of the mindset since last season, he can trust that, right? Third thing I would tell you is is get the ball to the playmakers. We've been doing a really great job of that in the first two games. I think tight ends, running backs, outside receivers, slot receivers, you got to figure out how to continue to be creative and get those guys the ball. win third down. we haven't seen, we haven't been in situations where we've had to win a lot of third downs, whether it be get off the field or just can stay on the field, right? And then five, we just got we can't turn the ball over on the road. We can't, right? One of the biggest reasons why we've been so effective, regardless of if it's Western Kentucky and Tennessee State or you know, L S U and Ole Miss. We haven't turned the ball over, but you saw what happened when we did in those third and fourth string, second string guys, they immediately led to touchdown drives that somebody would scratch their head and go, Yeah, the seventies points are great, but I think there's a little bit of a lackbuster when it's like, but we gave up twenty. Seventy twenty kind of sounds like a all right, sounds like kinda there was some loose ends there, right? Fish What in those five keys, like what stands out to you and what do you think for you is even like maybe a top one or two key to come out with with an explosive victory against Arkansas? It kind of sets the tone for the SEC season. Adam Fisher: We definitely need to keep our foot on the gas and not let up. And you know, just because it's an SEC game, even if we're up forty two or whatever. And honestly, after watching the Utah game, you know, I'm not impressed with Arkansas at all. but saying that, establishing the run is key and I wanted to mention when you were talking about Nate, like he's Y like and and thinking about Chubb and Michelle and how Jake Fromm, his freshman year, that was his easily his best season, but that's also because he had so much help around him. And and if Gunnar just seems so relaxed, you know, way more relaxed than he has been, you know, in a long, long time or ever playing quarterback. Like he just seems so comfortable back there. And I think it's because he knows that he's surrounded by talent, like elite level talent. You know, we're not a bunch of young kids, or not a bunch of freshmen out there. You know, we were really young last year, but we're way more mature this year. Everybody's grown up a lot, you can tell. Like it just it shows. I mean, we're so crisp on offense and it's it it it's amazing at the turnaround from last year and these first two games. And I know that's not the question you asked me, but Ted Turner: Yeah, no. Adam Fisher: It's just hard not to be, you know, Ted Turner: It's all right, yeah, I agree. Adam Fisher: excited about the offense. and protecting Gunner is is always gonna be important. I think that's number one. And but I think n a steady dose of Nate and Chauncey is gonna protect is gonna le help him a lot you know, just as much as his O line play, you know, as far as protecting his game. Ted Turner: Yeah. No, I I I agree, man. I I think I think we sometimes miss the fact that these small five things, they seem minute. They seem like, well, of course we gotta do those things. I think we miss the fact that if we do those things, I think we come out of Arkansas, you know, yes, with a win, but with a with an an offensive game plan that puts us in position to be very dominating on offense. And that's the that's the key word. Like we wanna see I think for the talent we're playing against, we wanna see domination when we go to Fayetteville. Adam Fisher: Another forty fifty point? Ted Turner: yeah, I think we wanna see domination. That kind of continues the trend of of going, all right, now we come home and we play an ar an Oklahoma team that I was very high on at the beginning of the year. I thought they had a they they had a weird showing in in in in in in Arbor and the big house and I don't really know what to think of Oklahoma right now. I I moved them way down in my power rankings. Adam Fisher: Dude, everybody did. I watched that game today, dude. Ted Turner: But I don't yeah, I don't know what to think of. Adam Fisher: It was ugly. Like I don't know. That was not Ted Turner: Yeah. I don't really think about Adam Fisher: the Yeah, I'm sorry. Go ahead. Ted Turner: No, I was just saying, I don't really know what to think about it, man. Adam Fisher: No yeah, I don't either. And you know, like I'm s everybody has super low on their, you know, rankings now. Like they're still ranked, but they dropped a long way and all of a sudden nobody's talking about them to win the SEC anymore. Ted Turner: Yeah. I mean I had him up there. And I think it was all based off of just the defense and if if Mateer could take a step in the right direction, healthy, right? And not that we're gonna talk Oklahoma in a minute, so I don't go, but like I just it just didn't match up. I mean, I it everybody looked, I mean, if did anybody notice that they asked, who's the Michigan coach? what's his last name? Was it Utah? Whittingham. Kyle Whittingham. They asked him, they said, you know, Adam Fisher: When he tell when he had Ted Turner: how were you Yeah, like were you pleased with Bryce Underwood and this and that and other? And goes, I was very pleased. And it's like you want to pause and go, he he didn't really he didn't do anything. Like his offensive production was terrible again. Everything was basically based off of the fact that Oklahoma could not get any offense going. They couldn't get any Adam Fisher: No. Ted Turner: offense going. And it was like Michigan did just enough sloppiness to find some points. And that was the difference in the game. The defense was I mean, I don't I I mean, you can't really say the defense had a great showing because I think Oklahoma's offense was terrible. And then vice versa, it's like yeah, it was it was a very peculiar game. It was honestly at times like I was watching something that was surreal out of the two teams. I thought it would be much more lopsided, but Adam Fisher: Yeah. Ma Matear's a different quarterback on the road than he is at home. That's that's that's evident. Even going back to last year. Ted Turner: I agree with that. I agree with that. That that's that's that's that's that's definitely a true statement. I would say that that was that has a lot to do with it. the confidence the confidence meter is definitely up when he's at home. and it's not it's not gonna be any easier for them. You know, obviously they come to Athens and then they had re they have Red River. this could this could work in in the opposite direction for them. Let's let's flip to the Adam Fisher: Extra code. Ted Turner: defensive side. Let's flip to the decent side real quick. Let's let's talk about five keys. For the defense to get us out of there with a dominating victorious victory. That sounds like a chat GPT. Dominant victorious victory. I don't know, man. Trust Adam Fisher: Victoria. Ted Turner: me, I didn't I'm not reading that straight off of chat GPT. number one, man, I think it's very exactly, man, like a like a somebody's gonna name their Adam Fisher: Sounds like a creative player on college football. Dominant Victorious. That's my new quarterback name. I'm about to do as soon as we get off. Ted Turner: somebody's gonna name them that, right? Adam Fisher: Mm-hmm. Ted Turner: number one key to key to key to defense is stop the run. I think it's very simple. I think you you reverse the you reverse the roles of offense, right? You make them one dimensional. we're gonna talk here in a second. I'm gonna give a really brief, you know, three minute run through of some statistical leaders for Arkansas, but I think if Arkansas can run the ball consistently, like you can look at control of clock, you can look at some things that they're allowed to do that's gonna keep our offense obviously down to minimal. possessions, which makes it harder, right? Which is what we want to do, right? We want to keep it a minimal possessions and make them have to maximize on the possessions they have. And second one is we need to create pressure without consistently blitzing. We've been able to do that a lot in the first two games. I think it showed that it's allowing us to tackle very efficiently. The run game is non existent for these teams. And I really like what we have on the back end. I think DeMelo Jones and I don't think Ellis has even been tested yet. but what we're seeing on the backside has not really been tested, but what we have in a small dose has been very elite. eliminate explosive plays, limit explosive plays. four, I think, is win the turnover battle. I think we've seen what turnovers can do even against teams that are you know, not as strong as you particularly think they are. You know, we need to continue to to cause chaos, drip the ball, interception tips, anything that we can do to be disruptive. kind of puts teams in the corner, right? And then play with discipline. we saw what penalties can do to teams last Saturday, not just Georgia, you know. We saw Alabama who looked like they honestly were on they were on the, you know, the road to a loss going into Kentucky, which would fall, Adam Fisher: My God. Ted Turner: you know, right into where people some people had But you saw them change the turnover battle from from half one to half two and become the more aggressive team that didn't make mistakes and it turned out to be a lopsided victory. Bish, what about these five things? Like what stands out to you about these that are like, yeah, I know those are five, but these are definitely one or two that are gonna make be the difference in whether we come out of Arkansas, you know, scratching our head and by the skin of our teeth or coming out, you know, really solidified. Adam Fisher: Pressure definitely definitely getting pressure is number one on the quarterback. You know, that dude throws a good ball. He's not he's not a bad QB at all. so we're not gonna be able to just let him sit back there and test our secondary, which again I'm confident in. But still, like I think they can handle it, but I wanna see this guy on his back at least four or five times. You know, we still not getting We're getting pressure, but I think these game plans, these guys are coming in game planning for us to get like to get the ball out as fast as they can. And then these first two good quarterbacks that we saw, we're doing a pretty good job of that. I mean we got a cup we got a few sacks, don't get me wrong. But not enough like as high as many points as we scored, you would think we would have way more sacks in a game than we do. But we are getting a lot of pressure and those guys, you know, like I said, they game plan for that and they're getting that ball out of there. They're Getting it one two gone. Like the ball's out, they're running quick routes. they're game planning for that. And you know, that you know, reflects in the stats. But you know, if you're a football guy like most people are that watch, you know, the games like we do that aren't casual just casual fans, like we know, like we see that, we understand that. And but yeah, the playing with discipline too, like two way too many penalties, penalties got to go somewhere. You know, the deeper we get into the SEC schedule. Ted Turner: Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I agree. I agree. I mean, the one that stands out for me, and those are those are I think those are all very, very important, is I jump right on I right in there with you with I think this is a team that if you rattle them, you disrupt them. I I've just seen a I've seen a coach that has stood over on the sideline and just looked like he is in the most abysmal place he could possibly be in at some points. I think he knows he stepped into something that's gonna be very challenging. I think he looks though, and and he and you know, everybody wants to look and go, Man, well, I why why can't I have a Cigneti type year, you know? Well, I mean, talent is one thing. I mean, it was Arkansas was stripped of a lot of talent. And even though you add it, I would make the difference too. There's some also in the back of his mind, he's looking and going, Man, you know, Memphis, Charles Huff, I mean, this is a team I left that Right now on paper this year has been very, very successful. And it's like you know, as a coach, sometimes when you turn you know, you turn the news on and you look back at things, you're like, All right, like am I did I make the right call? I I've heard people calling for what is it, Hunter Yurzek's name? I mean, he they want the they want him gone. it's just a mixture of a lot going on there. But we also thought the same thing in Michigan, right? So you gotta kinda treat this as just because I think Rich Man put it in our group tags. Just because you look bad week one don't mean you're gonna look bad week two. For all I know, Arkansas could figure some things out. They could have been playing down to their competition first row game, went out to Utah. You know, the I don't know, the it just didn't I don't know, man. It's different shows. Just the same way they could be they could be they could come out and do some really big things is the same way that we could start a very, very early start time at eleven AM on Saturday morning, way before game day is done in their area. we could start that day with a different mindset and a different, I guess, attack in our mind. Not at home. We don't have the home crowd. It's an early start. It's just a lot of things working against us, right? So, I think it'd be huge to be disruptive and just get them in a corner. what's the old dirty dancing saying, nobody puts baby in it? I think we need to put Arkansas in a corner, man. Put Adam Fisher: Nobody puts baby in a corner. Ted Turner: in a corner. Make fight. Make them make come out and do some things they don't want to. and then we and I think from there it's a it's a downhill day. Fish, let's really quick. we try to do this. I mean we we did it a little bit with Tennessee State and with with Western Kentucky, but definitely for all of our SEC teams. But let's talk about offensive players and numbers to watch. so as you we preview this, so when you go into the game, you're like, who am I looking for? what what do we think are players that if if if they're gonna turn They're gonna turn on us and and get some points and possibly give us a run for our money. Who's that gonna be? Obviously, quarterback KJ Jackson. containment and an eyes on him is gonna be the factor that Georgia has to deal with all day. through two games, thirty eight of sixty nine, four hundred and six yards passing, three TDs, two interceptions, fifty five percent completion rate. He's he's rushed for sixty one yards, totals four sixty seven. I mean, he's responsible for four hundred and sixty seven of Arkansas's seven hundred and twenty total yards of offense. So obviously when KJ Jackson rolls, Arkansas rolls. The interesting part is is that Arkansas hasn't been particularly efficient at running the ball. which is I mean, you look at that and you look how been efficient Georgia has been at stopping the run the first two games. you know, I think that leads right into the question can Georgia make Jackson uncomfortable and force mistakes? wide receiver Chris Marshall is a name you need know. leads them with 12 receptions, 142 yards. 28% of all the receiving yards goes to Chris Marshall. couple running backs names you need to know. Braylon Russell has had twenty-two carries for 62 yards. Sutton Smith, he's kind of their speed guy. They're they're light their their thunder and lightning. 49 rushing yards. He kind of care he kind of catches the ball a little bit more out of the backfield. but like pretty fast. the offensive line obviously has been something that's that's been of question, right? throughout the first two games. That's been it's can they protect KJ Jackson? Can they run the football? tight end Ty Ty Lockwood is the name to keep after two. Sleeper guy that's come around the last game was Ishmael, I think his name is Cease, C-I-S-S-E. At three receptions, 55 yards, two touchdowns, kind of a player that jumps out. When you hop the defensive side of the ball. I'm just going to you two standouts to look for. Kamori House, biggest statistical playmaker, eight tackles, three for loss, three sacks so far. and I and I think Bradley Shaw has done a real he's he 12, 12 total tackles in two games. but this defense fish, this is one of the bigger parts of their team that got hit as far as players leaving and the portal graduating. This is definitely the circle right here is the defense is like, you know, can the In the offen think it's shown a little bit. I mean, I think it was very hard to stop Utah. And I think you look back at North Alabama and you go, Man, how in the world do they score that many points against Arkansas? It's North Alabama. And I think the defense is still trying to find themselves. And I think if you look at both sides, they're kind of the ones that, you know, need to improve the most if if Arkansas is gonna be competitive. So those are just some names as dog fans are watching on Saturday to kind of know if you hear them. Those are gonna be the difference makers. but yeah, I mean, before we get to our picks, fish, I just wanna I I want to just kind of talk through like when you look at Arkansas, you look at this as a kickoff SEC game on the road, like your desired outcome is obviously a win. But what do you think right out of the box? Like if you could mesh together a couple of scenarios to say this will be a great day. For dog fans to take in. what does that look like for you? What does that slate look like for you as far as how twelve o'clock starts? Adam Fisher: Eleven AM local kickoffs are always tricky and I'm not gonna use the term trap game 'cause I don't think Georgia's getting trapped this year. I don't think anybody's trapping us. and we've shown that first couple of weeks of the season. stay injury free, okay, check. That's number one. You know, 'cause I'm not worried about the outcome. We're gonna win, but like you can also lose while you win. You know, so no no injuries. Everybody stay healthy. You know, if we go out there and the starters get pulled and we see more, you know, Paglisi and Montgomery in the third and fourth quarters, then that'd be great. I'm looking for empty stands in the second half, looking for all the Arkansas fans to go home. Grant's gonna change the channel. He's not gonna watch the end of the game, he's gonna be done before halftime. That that's that's ideal for me. That's the outcome I want. Ted Turner: Yeah. Yeah, I mean, I totally agree with you. I think first off that comes to me is eleven AM, twelve twelve o'clock noon, on the road. how do we get started, right? What a start against Western Kentucky, right? You get a you get a fumble, you think, man, how's Georgia gonna score within the first minute? They don't even have the ball. Well they do. They have the ball immediately and they turn a drive quick. into a score and I actually last week missed the fumble because I was I was watching another game and I and and you know I I have Hulu Hulu TV and so they they they really try to jolt you straight into the game. Like you don't get a lot of like pre-game stuff on those. They start up pretty Adam Fisher: Yeah, I Hulu as well. Ted Turner: yeah, pretty much right when the kick starts. So like you can kind of get deceived and it doesn't drop into your to your list. But anyways All that to be said, like I would love to see just some really early just confusion by Arkansas. I want defense to get them into a really rough routine. and I think running the football, man, if we can just if we can run it straight out of man and we can get be successful, it's gonna be a long day for Arkansas. it's it's really gonna be a long day. And I I agree with you. Injury free. I mean, you got you have your I mean, you don't look past Arkansas and you know, Kirby's not doing this, but that's not our job, right? We can look past. I mean, Kirby's gonna instill in them what they can and can't do. And obviously around the you know, the locker rooms and around the offices and the sports complex, you know, we don't talk about what's next, but here we can, right? So so healthy, convincing win, get some things accomplished in the game plan and get ready for Oklahoma. the you know, the big S D C home opener the f the following week. but without any further ado, fish, let's let's hop in. Let's have some fun, man. I think we I think we've pretty much given all the dog fans what they're going expect from Arkansas as far as offense, defense, what the expectations are if we're going to come out with a victory. Let's have a little fun, man. Let's hop into mining fish's picks for the week. We're going to do all the SEC games. I got a couple of plus ones and plus twos for you, Fish. So if I throw you for a loop, I apologize. But first two before we jump into the main games, I want to jump into the eight o'clock Fox game outside of SEC play. Number twenty-two, Houston, starting out on on the road versus the fifty. I always say fifty, it's just like let's just put it as a man, the the million plus dollar, millions and millions of dollars and plus dollars of Texas Tech's team. this is at home, this is big for Texas Tech because I think Houston is gonna be one of only a few teams that give them a hard time this year. I think Connor Wiegman, I think this team is has the best shot at giving Texas Tech a hard time. who you got in this game? Just curiosity, and and I got the spread right now. Texas Tech is getting seven and a half at home. who you got in this game, Fish? Adam Fisher: I got Texas Tech too in the Big Twelve championship game, because that's essentially what Ted Turner: Okay. Adam Fisher: this is, unless Colorado, you know, I mean they they surprised us week one. They went out there and they, you know, beat tech, but I don't know if tech's really all that amazing this year. So that remains to be seen. how much that win means. But yeah, gimme Texas Tech and I don't know if they cover though. I think it's a lot closer than that. I'm gonna go like three or four. Like thirty one, twenty eight, something Ted Turner: Yeah and Adam Fisher: like that. Ted Turner: Yeah, in in Lubbock. Galaxy Stadium in Lubbock. yeah, I I would love to call upset on this. I like Connor Wiegman. He feels like he's been in college football forever. Obviously, you remember Connor Wiegman, he was at Texas A and Thought he had a pretty good first year, was inju got injured, kind of s gave his job over, then he ended up at Houston, had a pretty good year last year. But I think if they're gonna give Texas Tech a problem, I think Oklahoma State will give Texas Tech a problem too after seeing them play Oregon. but I I don't know Adam Fisher: That's the maker. Ted Turner: if I can call the upset, but I like the same thing. I like it to be closer than the experts think. And I like to see Texas Tech see if they can be exposed a little bit at home. but at home I think they they get it taken care of pretty, pretty easily. 330 game, ESPN two is my other loan game the outside the SEC. Number 23, Louisville has SMU. A lot of people. are looking at SMU really, really hard right now because the rumor is is that that Florida State would love to take away Lashley from SMU if you see Norvell hit the road and it could be this is an ugly win by Alabama this weekend. Who knows, man? Rumor is is I don't know if you heard this fish, but rumor was is there was moving trucks at Norvell's house already. especially after the A D has already been given the escort out the building. I don't know if you knew that. Adam Fisher: I mean it's just it's just a matter of time. It it's just a matter Ted Turner: Yeah. Adam Fisher: of time. Norvell's history, bro. Unless he goes Ted Turner: Yeah. Yeah. Adam Fisher: undefeated for the rest of the year. And I'm talking like he's gotta beat Bama by twenty one, I think, to save his job this week. To get past this week. That's what he's gotta do. Ted Turner: Yeah, man. I you gotta go t you go to Tuscaloosa too. I you don't even get a guy to do a free card if you're going to Tuscaloosa because I mean, yeah. Some of the nightmares, it would just take up too much time to talk about. who you got in this game, Fish? Louisville comes in a a mere point and a half. You're getting a point and a half for Bates. Adam Fisher: That that's it's gonna be close. It's gonna be that close. gimme SMU and but it's not gonna be because of the quarterback play out of Louisville. this is one of the only times I've ever disagreed with Rich when he you know in our text we were talking about that when Louisville was playing at Florida State and he said something about if Louisville had a quarterback, I think they do have a quarterback. I think that kid Ted Turner: Yeah. Adam Fisher: I think that kid is good. I I I watched him like mature from the beginning of that game to the end. He was a different quarterback in the second half, like by the end of the game than he was when he started that game. Ted Turner: He had some tough throws in the first half, which first half of the season, right? You're still you're still trying to figure out your team, who you're throwing to, what they you know, what the dynamic is of that relationship. And so I agree with you. I could I could be indifferent in those two things. I like I like SMU in this game. I like Jennings to really show out. I think, you know, maybe they do continue. I mean, SMU has shown the ability to not let teams really get the edge. And they make mistakes, then they're they're able to bail themselves out of it. I think you look at Lashley, you look at Jennings and you look at some of the depth they have around them. I don't know. My feeling is that after seeing Louisville in some areas roll over a little bit against Ole Miss, I just like I like Jennings. He's he's a little bit more vet established. that's kind of gives him the only edge in my opinion. That one and a half point says they could go all right, those are my two wild cards. Let's end the SEC play. 1245, SEC Network NC State heads into First Bank Stadium, Nashville, Tennessee, to play the Vanderbilt Commodores under the direction of offensive quarterback freshman Jared Curtis for the first time. Vanderbilt's two and but you just have that feeling that Vanderbilt You know, it's like when does the massacre begin? They this is not the start of their of that. I think NC State is definitely a beatable team. I think NC State likes what they have. this is a home game. Vanderbilt's getting three points. Fish, who you got in this game? Adam Fisher: Gimme Vandy and but Vandy's two and but it ain't because of Jared Curtis. but I watched NC Ted Turner: Right. Or is it? Adam Fisher: State get stroked by Virginia in week zero and I don't know man. And I on the road too, I'm I'm going Vandy by fourteen. Ted Turner: Yeah. NC State on the road, SEC, Clark Lee. I think you give Jared Curtis the entire game. He doesn't have to kind of run in and try to get warmed up. He he may feel a little bit more like dine I guess it's his team coming in instead of going, What am I gonna do? Am I gonna come in off the like he's in the game plan, he knows possibly what's gonna happen, but yeah, give me vanity too. I like the three points. I think this game could be sloppy. This game could be very sloppy. There's supposed to be some weather around the Southeast this weekend. it could be sloppy. Come down to running the football. And if if it comes down to running the football, I like NC State, but if you give me the arm of Jerry Curtis, Jerry Curtis, gimme give me the three points, give me Vandy. I think Vandy wins that game. And it might come down to just a sloppy, I mean, where you gotta hand the ball off seven, eight times, get a field goal to win the game. but I think I think the big thing is can the can can the freshman protect the ball, right? Does he force things? Does he does he do things out of context? that's just me. Seven o'clock SEC network number twenty, Missouri two and gets a visit from Troy. Troy is also two and It's a home game for Missouri, obviously. Fish, who do you got in this game? And right now twenty seven and a half for Missouri. Seems a little steep, right? Troy coming Adam Fisher: Yeah. Ted Turner: in two and What do you think? Adam Fisher: gimme Missouri. But I don't think they cover. I think they miss by two points. I think it's three touchdowns and a field goal, but they don't cover. Ted Turner: Yeah, I like that. I don't know, man. Like I don't I don't see Troy just getting it handed to him, right? You gotta you gotta wonder, does Austin Simmons continue to perform well? Are these receivers, are they are are they finding some go to receivers? This defense is is is kind of placed and pieced together, what want to say pieced together from the portal. fifteen or so new faces on that defense, which is having, you know, some some some decent tests to start the year. I like Missouri in this, but man, I gotta wonder, you know, Detroit just kind of do what some other teams did and just really didn't venture out there and schedule anybody and play anybody, or or they they decently for real and when they go up against a team like Missouri, maybe maybe it's backed up a little bit on the field and the score is not as I I I don't think they cover. I think this could be a game that once again, if it's weather central, it could be sloppy and who knows? Missouri wins, but I I agree with you, I don't think they cover. Let's see. 745 SEC Network. Kennesaw State goes into Neeland. Tennessee 2 0. Man, Tennessee's look good. Fais on Brandon. They run the run game looks great. Multiple receivers. Jim Knoll's defense is looking like it is getting comfortable a little bit per se. Tennessee big favorites in this one 35 and a half points at home. Who do you got, Fish? Adam Fisher: Tennessee and they will cover. Ted Turner: Tennessee covers 35 and a half. I would tell you that Kennesaw State is nothing to walk over. They have a really good area up there to recruit, obviously, in North Georgia, those Northeast Mountains. but yeah, too much Tennessee. I like Tennessee, man. I don't want to look past the big game this weekend of LSU and Ole Miss, but man, how good is that Texas Tennessee game in two weeks in Neeland gonna be? Like, Adam Fisher: I know. Ted Turner: wow. Like, wow, wow. seven thirty, New Mexico heads into Norman, playing an Oklahoma team who's licking their wounds, still ranked twenty fourth, hanging on to their top twenty five ranking by a mere one slot. OU is twenty two and a half point favorites at home. Who do you got, Fish? Adam Fisher: Watch this game if you're a Georgia fan, 'cause we're gonna find out exactly who Oklahoma is this week before our game, whether we need to be worried or not. Pay attention to this one. Oklahoma's gonna win, but how they win is gonna be very, very, very, vi very vital to next week. Ted Turner: Yeah. No, that's good. I like it. I like Oklahoma Oklahoma to win. I think twenty two and a half, you're gonna have to prove to me. I haven't seen twenty two and a half points of total offense yet. So that's key. I think I think yeah, if if their defense can put in situations to grab easy points, maybe. But if they gotta earn eighty eighty yard drives, this could this could definitely be a game you look at and go, I don't know if they can win by twenty two and a half, but we'll see. we shall see. moving along, three thirty PM, ESPN, Kentucky fresh off of their loss. I mean, they gave a little bit of a I I think they gave a l pretty good fight in the first half. They had Alabama where they wanted, but just too much talent on the on Alabama sideline. I think talent came into play. I think those kids still trying to learn how to play in big games was huge. but they roll into Texas A and and man, talk about a slate of games. They got it they had Alabama now they head into the twelfth man, Adam Fisher: I get land. Ted Turner: this is a three thirty game, probably the only thing that's saving them from you know, absolute craziness. College Station, take St. two and O, ranked number nine. sixteen and a half is the spread. Who you got in this one fish? Adam Fisher: Hard to say. You know, was it was coaching involved in the downfall last week, the while they came out flat in the second half, you know? Was Bama like did De Boer go in there and light a fire and they came out and that's who that's who Alabama really is? You know, it it's hard to see. There's a couple of different ways you could take that second half of the Bama Kentucky game last week, man. so I really don't know. I mean I know I know I pick A and to win and I think they cover. But I don't I don't know I don't know how easy it's gonna be to cover. You know, I think I think the defense is gonna hold Kentucky, you know, keep them from scoring a lot of points. And I know that the quarterback for A and is elite. So they're gonna win and they're gonna cover, but like I said, I think it's gonna be a dogfight sixteen if that makes any sense. Ted Turner: Man, man, man, man. You you said elite, man, for Yeah, okay. I I like I like Texasanium to it. Adam Fisher: He's good, he's good. Ted Turner: Yeah. That's another Adam Fisher: He throws interceptions, bro, but I mean if we didn't have Gunner, I wouldn't mind having. Ted Turner: Another day. Take the CNN's defense this year, man. I I thought they would be the the the part that would differentiate whether this you know what this team would do this year. And I think so far they've shown up. And you know, I think the quarterback you definitely look at is Kenny Minchy. Can he go into, you know, college station and do some of the things that he couldn't do against Alabama? And if not, it's gonna be a long day. But three thirty PM, Alabama, number ten ranked Alabama, nineteen and a half point favorites over Florida State. who you got this one fish. Adam Fisher: think this is the last game my Mike Norvell's Florida State career. He's gonna get fired on the tarmac. He's gonna get pulled in that same little room at another airport, a different airport than Lane Kiffin got pulled into. And he's gonna get dismissed quietly and politely. He's gonna get asked to vacate Ted Turner: Mm. Adam Fisher: the premises. You've got forty eight hours. Here's your fifty. Here's your fifty mil. See you later. Ted Turner: you're calling it dude. Yeah, it the timing Adam Fisher: Bama big. Bama big. Florida State's har horrible. Ted Turner: the timing's coming about right too because the A D. gimme Bama. fire I guess the firing would be the over and under. you know, but but maybe it may be a Adam Fisher: Hmm. Ted Turner: good call. I mean, it might be. It might be a good call. But I yeah, I like I like Bama in this one. Might be embarrassing. Watch out. I I don't think Bama has to worry about last year. eight PM UTSA visits Texas. Texas thirty and a half point favorites. We're gonna go quick on this one, Fish. I got Texas easy in this game. Who do you got? Adam Fisher: I'm never picking Texas to win another game after what they they the way they treated the sideline reporters last week. Like what gives them the right? I don't care what kind Ted Turner: Yeah. Adam Fisher: of game it is, dude. That's just classless. That's that's the culture at Texas. From the quarterback Ted Turner: Mm-hmm. Adam Fisher: and the head coach, the leaders of that team. Two of the leaders. And that's what they go out there and do. And then Arch reacts to some video. That somebody made an AI video of Holly Rowe getting slapped down to the ground by Sarkeesian. You know, and then him saying hook and then he laughs about it publicly. And Ted Turner: Yeah. Adam Fisher: it's okay for him to just, huh, sorry. And everything's good now. It's all good, it's gone. Ted Turner: Yeah. Adam Fisher: Like, that man forget I'm sorry. I wish I could use some foul language 'cause I've got some four letter words I wanna say, but I'm not going to 'cause we're gonna keep it PG because Ted Turner: Yeah. Adam Fisher: my kids watch this show. So Ted Turner: Yeah. Adam Fisher: So gimme UTSA by fitting. Ted Turner: Yeah. UTSA by fifty. That's wild, man. I gotta tell you something, Adam Fisher: Ha ha ha. Ted Turner: I I do I do agree with you though, man. Pretty classless, pretty classless. I like this game. This next one right here is very interesting. Four fifteen SEC network. Mississippi State. Ooh, I like Mississippi State right now, man. Adam Fisher: Me too. Ted Turner: Taylor's a dangerous, a dangerous guy. South Carolina, their first true test. South Carolina's a four point favorite at home. Fish, who you got in this one? Adam Fisher: after last week, man, before last week I would have said South Carolina all day long and they cover easily. But now after they went up there and we picked this game and I picked Mississippi State to go up there and get a W and you know, I'm a little happy about that. But man, yeah, Mississippi State looks great. They're a totally different team from last year, dude. They've matured a lot, they've grown up a lot. You know, they added a few pieces that obviously has has been good fits, which is awesome. but yeah, I think Mississippi State Ted Turner: Yeah. Adam Fisher: goes in there and upsets the world, man well not the world, but Columbia, South Carolina at least. I think you don't hear a lot of sandstorm. I think I think the game's over by the fourth quarter. Ted Turner: Kamario Taylor, man, is an absolute animal. Paired with Anthony Evans, Zach Arnett defense, Mississippi State something to worry about this year, man. I got Mississippi State, and I'm gonna be honest with you, I got Mississippi State big in this one. I got I got a possible start to Shane Beamer's decline. I just like Mississippi State, man. They just they just look like they're an absolute nightmare to prepare for. Nightmare. two games left. Obviously the bigger one of the two will pick last. I'm sorry, three. Florida heads into the Plains take on Auburn. Two and a half point favorites towards Florida. I'm gonna pick first on this one, Fish, and I'll tell you why. I I've been I've been Auburn favoring for the entire year, but I think what's starting to what's starting to happen is is I'm seeing more. of a true SEC roster out on Florida's side. how does this, like how do these guys that have been playing not in the SEC that have come over from USF and asked to do all these things, so far, they've been very lackluster. They've been very mundane to what I not even the win last week, right? I don't I this game's gonna be close. This game's gonna have its ups and downs and its swings. But even the defense for Auburn is not being as dominating as last year. with the same O C with the same D C, sorry. so I like Florida in this one. I didn't I d I wouldn't have told you two weeks ago I'd have picked Florida. But after seeing Auburn and a dose of them, I like Florida in this game. Who you got, Fish? Adam Fisher: Yeah, gimme Florida. I don't think it's a big game. I don't think they win big though. I think it's a night I think it's a good close game. it's hard to win on the road in Jordan Hare, but that would be a huge first SEC win for him. summer all, Ted Turner: Yeah. Adam Fisher: you know, to get. So gimme Florida by half a touchdown. Ted Turner: Florida by fifty. No, I'm just playing. the big Adam Fisher: My wife would kill me. Ted Turner: game, the big game outside of the biggest game. Hotdy Toddyville, seven thirty PM ABC, Lane Kippins return to man, this is gonna be cinema. Absolute cinema. Starting probably around Friday, about seven PM when Ella Langley is in concert Adam Fisher: Dude. Ted Turner: in that area. Adam Fisher: It's already started. They served the defensive Ted Turner: Yeah. Adam Fisher: end papers. Like it's official that ESPN wants them to be, or not ESPN, but the world wants them to be the bad guy. And that's their that's who they are. They're playing that role, the villain. That's who they are. And they're luck, man, they just Ted Turner: Crazy man. Adam Fisher: they're just digging it, man. They are accepting it wholeheartedly with open arms. They love it, man. They are relishing it in that role right now. Dude, they're gonna destroy oldness. Ted Turner: Crazy. It's crazy. So who you got? Adam Fisher: I like LSU about seventeen. Ted Turner: Pesh, man. Yeah, I I can't see this going well for Owens. I really can't, man. I Adam Fisher: Yeah. Ted Turner: I think that U piss Lane off, man. Adam Fisher: Dude, I'm telling you. It won't stop. They just keep throwing, they Ted Turner: You pissed Lane off, dude. Adam Fisher: just keep giving them ammunition, dude. Like it's nuts. Ted Turner: Yeah. You pissed Lane off, man, and I think this is the f I think Pete Golding gets that belt from his daddy. Adam Fisher: Mm-hmm. Ted Turner: That's been propping him up for the last five, five years. Pete, your young your younger daddy's coming to town and giving you that belt this weekend, man. LSU Adam Fisher: Yep. That's that's right. Ted Turner: wins, and I think LSU might win big, man. And they're not gonna keep the foot off the pedal, bro. They're not. Adam Fisher: No, they're not. Ted Turner: Lane will not. He will not. Adam Fisher: They're going to drown them. Ted Turner: Yeah. Wild. Cinema, man. Georgia, twelve o'clock, Arkansas. last game of the night, Fish, Georgia one and one, twenty-five and a half for Georgia. Who you got? Give me a score. eighty seven degrees is what I'm liking about this game. Eighty seven degrees. Who you got, Fish, give me a score. Yeah. Adam Fisher: Yeah, yeah. I bet the players are loving that too, dude. Dude, eighty seven degrees when you've been dealing with over a hundred degree, you know, real feels for the past three weeks or a month, bro. It feels like winter time la la you know, Frosty the Snowman outside. Like it's it's awesome. anyway, Georgia obviously, I think they went big. gimme fifty two tenths. Ted Turner: Ooh, 52. We're going on the road scoring 52. I like it, man. 52 10. I think I think the defense shows out, man. sketchy yardage. I like I like six, like nine points, something weird. give me like forty, give me like forty five to nine. I like that. Sounds peculiar enough. Adam Fisher: There you go. Ted Turner: I like Georgia, forty five nine. I don't know. Who Adam Fisher: I can live with that. Ted Turner: knows? Adam Fisher: I can live with that. Ted Turner: Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium, twelve o'clock, eighty seven degrees. We're gonna see, man. We're gonna see as the dogs open up SEC play and it's gonna be a it's a it's gonna be a good a good week. I I kinda downplayed it a little bit. Probably should. But it's gonna be a good week. I mean, any week where college football is going on is a good week, right? Fish, final thoughts? Adam Fisher: We are so lucky to have Kirby Smart as our coach. Just be happy. Just be so happy that that's our coach. It could be other people that are in the SEC right now, and we could be heading in a completely different direction. God bless Kirby. Ted Turner: Plus God bless Kirby and God bless the United States of America. Okay. yeah, man. I'll line up my final thought with that as well, man. It's just it's one of those years where I feel like Kirby is playing chess this year, not checkers. I think he's playing chess, he's got a game face, he's not happy with mediocrity. I'm not saying he ever is, but he looks just a little bit more edgy. I mean, when you're pissed off. Because the second, third, and fourth string doesn't finish the game as strong as the first string does. Yeah, man. This guy's I mean, he from all levels he wants to win and he wants to win big. It's a different it's a different bite than Elaine Kiffin. I Lane Kiffin's gonna come to town with a lot of you know it it it's gonna be nasty, man. Like it he's just gonna he's just gonna run straight through that wall, man, this weekend for Lane Kiffin. But but yeah, I agree with you, man. Kirby's just I think Kirby's lining some things up. And he's got some things that he likes. And he's gonna play chess with it, man. He's gonna play chess with it. So Fish, always a pleasure. Can't wait for this slate of games this weekend. There's some other games that we didn't call, but we got to most of them. But looking forward to opening SEC play and then hopefully getting back next week with you and breaking this whole game down. And hopefully we're talking about a Georgia SEC opening victory. Fish, always a pleasure, man. I hope you guys have a great start to your weekend, early start.
