  [SPEAKER_00]: So we have our first preseason week one match up with the Steelers to preview here today.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously previewing preseason games not quite the same as previewing regular season game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You're not going to see a lot of the most important players for some teams.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jack Wars, they are playing their starters.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They're playing all their starters that are going to be healthy.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now, some of their starters do not appear to be healthy.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Eric Armstrong hasn't seen him all week dealing with a back injury.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And I don't think Liam Cohen was just giving coach speak and I wanted to talk about it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Tom one's been there forever a lot of their veterans have been there for a long time or played a lot and this league they do have some newly signed veterans or traded for veterans.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's kind of my thought process on some of the Jaguars veterans as well, but we'll go through the list for the Steelers.

  [SPEAKER_00]: No Aaron Rogers, DK Metcalf, John O'Smith, Pat Firemuth, Isaac Sam, Oliver on the offensive line, Jayla Moore in the running back, Jayla and Ramsey not going to be playing.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Big play sled areas sled to Sean Elliott, Patrick Queen, Cameron Hayward, TJ Watt, Nick Kirby.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Chris Boswell, they're kicker and not playing Calvin Austin, due to injury, Alex Heismitt, due to injury, Corey tries due to injury.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's the list of Mike Tomlin provided yesterday of players that are probably not going to be out there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So you're not going to see a lot of the dynamic past pressures that the Steelers have on the edge.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If the Jaguars are playing against primarily backups for the Steelers, the Jaguars starters, however long they're in there and drive, two drives, whatever it is.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You want to see Trevor and those boys go down and score a touchdown and you want to see the starting defense shut them down.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there's no reason for the Jaguar's starters to not have a really good day against Steelers primarily backups.

  [SPEAKER_00]: a Roman Wilson, a young receiver who is very talented.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Ben Scoronic has played a lot in this league.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You have some young offensive linemen who are talented that will be out there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Broderick Jones, it sounds like potentially definitely Zach Frazier, Mason McCormick, Troy Fautano.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The rookies from last year, three guys that I really like the same Jacksonville.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Looks like quarterback wise Mason Rudolph, Skylar Thompson, Logan Woodside, or the guys that are going to be up, not Aaron Rogers, no will Howard, who's dealing with the injury.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars are probably going to be seeing some tomorrow.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Day two pick, I thought he could have been taken much earlier than he was.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think he fits the bill for the Steelers in a big way.

  [SPEAKER_00]: in the first round of the draft is here, along with Keanu Benton, could both of those interior defensive linemen be out there, potentially it sounds like, and that'll be a handful to deal with without question, those are good football players.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They'll have Jack Sawyer, Malik Harrison, they'll have some guys out there that can play for sure, call Holcomb.

  [SPEAKER_00]: In the secondary, you'll still probably see player like Sebastian Castro, who was

  [SPEAKER_00]: You know, somehow undrafted, but a very good football player out of Iowa, safety, nickel, type player, some others.

  [SPEAKER_00]: A team of nobody's out there for the Steelers, but the Jaguar starters when they're out there, they should handle their business.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And a big part of handling their business, scoring touchdown, stopping the Steelers is going to be alignment, assignment, no mental mistakes, no presnap penalties, those are the types of things that kill you.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If you have an effort penalty, you'll accept that because it is what it is like, as long as it's not a crazy mental mistake, you're happy with that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You want the guys to be able to

  [SPEAKER_00]: get to their checks, the Jaguar's column cans, you know, when you kill a play, get to your next play, you want them to be able to identify defenses, work together, you want the motions to look smooth, fluid, you want the center to quarterback exchange to be fluid.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It has been so far with the starters in Jacksonville, with the backups, not so much.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You've seen a lot of backup quarterbacks, but the ball on the ground.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's something you want to make sure it gets cleaned up.

  [SPEAKER_00]: When I say movement, I mean illegal movement, right, false starts, multiple men and motion, different things like that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You want to see a lot of motion and you're going to see a lot of motion from the Jaguar's offense, pre-snap and out the snap throughout the season.

  [SPEAKER_00]: These game plans are going to meet much more vanilla than what you would expect for a regular season game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So it's not going to be all the bells and whistles.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You can expect to see come, you know, first weekend and September, but

  [SPEAKER_00]: You still wanna see these guys execute alignment and assignment and not have the mental mistakes.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Leo Cohen preaches alignment and assignment all the time and he's exactly right at this point in the year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You have to be able to get the easy things done to be able to go out there and do the harder things, scoring touchdowns, making big plays.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's supposed to be playing both sides of the ball.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully not a lot, but enough to grab there and make a couple plays, catch football, maybe get the hand on the ball on the other side.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Donald Savage, Daniel Thomas, Antonio Johnson, Rayon Lane, Caleb Ransos, obviously injured right now, but there's a number of guys competing there.
