- 0:57Speaker 5: venue the following night.
- 0:59Speaker 4: So it's not long now you go it's packed and
- 1:01Speaker 4: ready to go.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Uh, not passed yet. I'm so ready, but uh, I
- 1:07Speaker 1: have a I have one trip before, one business trip
- 1:10Speaker 1: to make before I packed for the Australia one. So
- 1:15Speaker 1: but I'm so ready. I've never been there, so I'm
- 1:18Speaker 1: super excited.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Yeah, we're we're We're ready to And as you know,
- 1:22Speaker 2: it's kind of like, I don't think we ever really
- 1:24Speaker 2: unpacked our bags from the last tour. We've been home
- 1:26Speaker 2: since since July, but it's like, uh, I think we're
- 1:29Speaker 2: just kind of everybody's getting ready and getting the horns,
- 1:32Speaker 2: getting the Devil dollars everything, Like everybody's getting excited. And
- 1:36Speaker 2: I think that packed is like an understatement. What do
- 1:39Speaker 2: you pack for a ten days? How do you pack
- 1:41Speaker 2: for it? It's the hardest thing to do. Ready, ready
- 1:44Speaker 2: for sure?
- 1:45Speaker 4: True?
- 1:46Speaker 5: And you still actually meeting for the very first time
- 1:49Speaker 5: in this interview, so I'm gonna put you on the
- 1:50Speaker 5: spot early.
- 1:51Speaker 4: What are your first impressions of each other.
- 1:54Speaker 1: First impression of Sam or what do you mean?
- 1:58Speaker 3: Well, I'm excited to meet you in person.
- 2:01Speaker 1: I'm excited to jam and I'm super cool to meet
- 2:05Speaker 1: you in advance, and I can't wait to have fun
- 2:09Speaker 1: and enjoy this tour and and play shows together. I
- 2:14Speaker 1: can feel as good vibe and the energy awesome.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I feel exactly the same way.
- 2:19Speaker 2: And I think it's the coolest thing is that we
- 2:22Speaker 2: aren't exactly the same style of musics, which will make
- 2:25Speaker 2: us that much better, I think, and like you guys
- 2:28Speaker 2: will rub off on us and we'll rub off on you.
- 2:30Speaker 3: I'm just so excited to like that. That's the best part.
- 2:33Speaker 2: And making those stories and those connections, those friendships that
- 2:35Speaker 2: last forever, It's my favorite part of the whole thing. Chris, Chris,
- 2:39Speaker 2: you can attest to that, like we are like a
- 2:42Speaker 2: walking story, So like this to show you guys a
- 2:44Speaker 2: little bit of this is just gonna be really cool.
- 2:47Speaker 4: Walking story or walking time bomb, one of the two.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Well, I'm even more excited to you.
- 2:55Speaker 5: You mentioned before this is the band's first time touristry
- 2:58Speaker 5: Iern Sam, this is your third Devil. So say, what
- 3:01Speaker 5: tips from what advice can you give Ploe about coming
- 3:04Speaker 5: to Australia.
- 3:07Speaker 2: The best part, the best advice I can give you
- 3:09Speaker 2: is the Australian people are maybe the craziest of Uh,
- 3:13Speaker 2: there's not like a certain level of crazy, like it's
- 3:16Speaker 2: just it's not American by any means.
- 3:18Speaker 3: It's just like another level altogether.
- 3:20Speaker 2: So I always think, like you make sure you eat
- 3:23Speaker 2: your wheaties every morning because we're hanging out with crazy
- 3:25Speaker 2: it's crazy Australians party and every night like it's it's
- 3:28Speaker 2: it's all day, all night, every single day twenty four
- 3:30Speaker 2: to seven.
- 3:33Speaker 1: I heard, I heard some stories, so yeah, yeah, I'm
- 3:38Speaker 1: excited for it.
- 3:39Speaker 5: It's the Bad on the Money Joe and Chloe pull
- 3:42Speaker 5: Boy is actually feature an Australian musician in Mack Delbert
- 3:45Speaker 5: or so have you mean picking his brain on what
- 3:47Speaker 5: you respect to which are rather just coming told and
- 3:50Speaker 5: type things just like that.
- 3:51Speaker 1: I like to come with like an open mind and
- 3:54Speaker 1: just experience the whole thing with the local people with
- 3:59Speaker 1: what where are we gonna end up? I feel that
- 4:01Speaker 1: that's always the best way. It's kind of be ready
- 4:04Speaker 1: for any adventure and just like instead of having expectation
- 4:09Speaker 1: of this and that, I'm just like open and willing
- 4:13Speaker 1: to experience it all and have fun along the way hopefully.
- 4:17Speaker 1: So yeah, so I have not picked his brain so much,
- 4:21Speaker 1: you know. I was just like, let's go and do it,
- 4:23Speaker 1: and yeah.
- 4:25Speaker 5: I said Sam do you remember your first tour of Australia,
- 4:27Speaker 5: like how you felt coming at you for the first time.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Yeah, I absolutely do.
- 4:32Speaker 2: And I was just reading something about it too, like
- 4:35Speaker 2: I was I'm such a huge Kiss fan, Chrispy if
- 4:37Speaker 2: you don't know already, if I haven't told the heavy audience,
- 4:39Speaker 2: but I felt like that's what we were doing, like
- 4:42Speaker 2: we were kiss coming over on the Dynasty tour for
- 4:44Speaker 2: the first time, Like you're landing and you're going, okay,
- 4:47Speaker 2: like we're doing We're walking in the same footsteps as
- 4:49Speaker 2: our heroes, right. So it's not something that I take lightly.
- 4:52Speaker 2: I mean, we're gonna have a blast, We're gonna have
- 4:53Speaker 2: the funnest time ever. But it's like something that is
- 4:56Speaker 2: very important to me and that that we don't go
- 4:58Speaker 2: into lightly. You know, there's a lot of planning from
- 5:00Speaker 2: everybody involved, and and it's gonna be great to kind
- 5:03Speaker 2: of see uh just see just see everybody again.
- 5:06Speaker 1: You know.
- 5:06Speaker 2: It's like the school reunion, the class reunion or whatever,
- 5:09Speaker 2: the family reunion is happening and and all of us,
- 5:12Speaker 2: all of us are gonna be there.
- 5:13Speaker 3: It's gonna be great, fantastic.
- 5:15Speaker 5: Now there's gonna be people coming along that no either
- 5:17Speaker 5: know one band and don't know the other or might
- 5:19Speaker 5: not know other band whatsoever. So but I was unfamiliar
- 5:22Speaker 5: with all the band. Tell us a bit more about
- 5:24Speaker 5: h So we'll start with you. Tell us a bit
- 5:25Speaker 5: more about Full of Out of Eyes.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Well, you know, it all started. It's it's fairly recent
- 5:32Speaker 1: that we started. It all started during COVID times where
- 5:35Speaker 1: Mark reached out to me. We did separately in two
- 5:39Speaker 1: different my own project and he was playing in another band,
- 5:42Speaker 1: and we both performed at this virtual you know how
- 5:45Speaker 1: weird it was. It was like a virtual show where
- 5:49Speaker 1: you pretending to perform for an audience at the troubadour,
- 5:53Speaker 1: but there's nobody but a camera and people online watching,
- 5:57Speaker 1: and there was a bunch of bands and it was
- 5:59Speaker 1: for environmental like fundraiser, and I checked out the whole
- 6:06Speaker 1: show online and I was like, oh, there's one metal
- 6:08Speaker 1: band and then so that's where Mark played in that
- 6:12Speaker 1: metal band.
- 6:12Speaker 3: And he reached out to me.
- 6:15Speaker 1: If I was cool to do a collab with him,
- 6:18Speaker 1: and I'm like yeah, So he sent me a few
- 6:20Speaker 1: rif ideas that picked one and then we wrote this
- 6:22Speaker 1: one song, and from this one song, we released one
- 6:25Speaker 1: EP and from that EP a second and then things
- 6:28Speaker 1: started to open up after COVID and we got some
- 6:32Speaker 1: show offers, and we didn't have a band yet, so
- 6:35Speaker 1: we're like, okay, let's grab a drummer and a guitar
- 6:39Speaker 1: player and then and then start playing shows. So that's
- 6:42Speaker 1: how it all evolved organically without really you know, and
- 6:47Speaker 1: we've been having fun playing shows, a lot of local
- 6:50Speaker 1: shows here in California. We played in Paris last year,
- 6:55Speaker 1: we played in Chicago, we played in Florida. So we've
- 6:58Speaker 1: been playing a little bit of around. But it's a
- 7:01Speaker 1: fairly new project and none of us are are beginners
- 7:05Speaker 1: of this, like I I obviously, I was singing in
- 7:09Speaker 1: different bands before, and I did my own solo stuff before,
- 7:13Speaker 1: and I was playing shows all over Europe as well,
- 7:17Speaker 1: because I am originally from Paris, France, and so so
- 7:23Speaker 1: it's kind of a fun new thing and just grew,
- 7:28Speaker 1: you know, organically, like I said, and now, you know,
- 7:31Speaker 1: going to Australia is like a fun adventure and it's
- 7:34Speaker 1: going to be our first official, like real tour for
- 7:39Speaker 1: us as Boulevard Advice.
- 7:41Speaker 5: Nice and run as a typical Bullards live show and
- 7:44Speaker 5: what people can expect.
- 7:47Speaker 1: I want to keep it a surprise.
- 7:50Speaker 3: That's not really a typical one, you know.
- 7:52Speaker 1: It's like we very we like to vary our set list,
- 7:56Speaker 1: but this time around, because we have a new EP
- 7:59Speaker 1: coming out, which I'm still I still have to record
- 8:02Speaker 1: vocals on two songs, and but we're going to play
- 8:06Speaker 1: all the new songs on that tour. So there's gonna
- 8:09Speaker 1: be five new tracks that we've never played live before.
- 8:12Speaker 1: So we're excited to play those. Yeah, just just ready
- 8:19Speaker 1: and excited.
- 8:20Speaker 5: So well, give us three songs from Bull Ofvard Ofvice
- 8:23Speaker 5: that people should listen.
- 8:24Speaker 4: To before they come in order to get to know
- 8:25Speaker 4: the band of it better.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Oh man, that's a hard one. I don't like those
- 8:31Speaker 1: kind of questions. Hard to pick three songs because actually
- 8:36Speaker 1: I want to pick like three new ones that we
- 8:39Speaker 1: some of which I haven't recorded yet. But definitely check
- 8:44Speaker 1: out the weight of gold Teeth that's a heavy tune
- 8:46Speaker 1: that's already released. And then like check out I would say,
- 8:52Speaker 1: check out our Instagram where we're most you know, like
- 8:56Speaker 1: Mark handles all the posts, but we'll be posting some
- 9:00Speaker 1: of the new tunes like just you know, little clips
- 9:04Speaker 1: of it. And because I'm excited about the New Tunes
- 9:06Speaker 1: because the New Tunes is the first time that we
- 9:09Speaker 1: write all together as a band. Before it was just
- 9:12Speaker 1: Mark and I and now we have like everybody involved,
- 9:15Speaker 1: So it's it's really uh like, I feel like it's
- 9:18Speaker 1: the next level up, you know, where everybody's participating.
- 9:23Speaker 5: And yeah, yeh, very nice. All right, Sam, over to here.
- 9:27Speaker 5: Tell us a bit more about the Midnight Devils.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Absolutely, The Midnight Devils are a glam slam, international touring,
- 9:34Speaker 2: party rock and roll band based right here in Nebraska.
- 9:37Speaker 3: I'm coming to you from Lincoln, Nebraska. We're out of Nebraska.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Uh.
- 9:41Speaker 2: Sniper Chris is Chris Sniper Hindline is our guitar player.
- 9:44Speaker 2: And Jimmy Mess, the indestructiball world renowned mister Jimmy Mess
- 9:48Speaker 2: from New Orleans is our drummer. We're just a three piece,
- 9:51Speaker 2: but it's it's it's party, it's action, it's excitement, it's
- 9:54Speaker 2: an adventure, it's it's dangerous, it's it's everything you want
- 9:58Speaker 2: great rock and roll to be and it's unpredictable at best.
- 10:01Speaker 2: And Chrispy can attest. Chrispy's been on what two tours
- 10:04Speaker 2: with us now and like, there's no lack of entertainment,
- 10:08Speaker 2: there's no lack of laughs, there's no lack of fun
- 10:11Speaker 2: when The Midnight Devils are and I think that's one
- 10:13Speaker 2: of the coolest things.
- 10:14Speaker 3: We are on our third record. We just released our
- 10:17Speaker 3: third record.
- 10:17Speaker 2: We actually kicked off our second tour of Australia last
- 10:21Speaker 2: year by releasing So Hard It Hurts, which is the
- 10:23Speaker 2: third record for The Midnight Devils, and next year, Chrispy,
- 10:26Speaker 2: if you can even believe this, we're celebrating ten years
- 10:29Speaker 2: as a band. So it's kind of this incredible thing
- 10:32Speaker 2: where like we're not the little guys anymore, or we're
- 10:34Speaker 2: we're not the young pups anymore.
- 10:36Speaker 3: I shouldn't say the little guys.
- 10:37Speaker 5: You know.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Where we've come up.
- 10:40Speaker 2: We've done a few things and we've had a blast,
- 10:42Speaker 2: but I don't think any of us are are happy yet.
- 10:46Speaker 3: We're like, we need more, we want more.
- 10:48Speaker 2: We have to go and do more things and have
- 10:50Speaker 2: more fun and travel and do as much as we
- 10:53Speaker 2: can possibly do. So I love the Midnight Devils and
- 10:56Speaker 2: the fact that it's the story can just keep going
- 10:59Speaker 2: for almost as long as we wanted to, and we
- 11:01Speaker 2: just keep writing songs and Sniper if I have started
- 11:03Speaker 2: working on the fourth Midnight Devil's record. So it's just
- 11:06Speaker 2: this cool thing that we've created, and we've created our
- 11:09Speaker 2: own space in music and in the music industry where
- 11:12Speaker 2: we're kind of like our own record label. We're kind
- 11:14Speaker 2: of our own distribute, our what should I say, our
- 11:18Speaker 2: own management company, our own booking company. We do it
- 11:21Speaker 2: all ourselves, you know. And that's what the really cool
- 11:23Speaker 2: thing about this is, Man.
- 11:25Speaker 5: I said, run it through a typical Midnight Devil's live show.
- 11:28Speaker 5: How do people can grasp it? I hear it at well.
- 11:31Speaker 2: The opening song is called Rubber Band Man. It's a
- 11:34Speaker 2: song by the Spinners from the fifties. After that, that's
- 11:37Speaker 2: like the intro song. That song plays. After forty five minutes,
- 11:40Speaker 2: I can't really tell you what happens, Like it's beginning
- 11:42Speaker 2: to end, the dust settles. After that, you're just hoping
- 11:45Speaker 2: for the best of like on a on a prayer,
- 11:47Speaker 2: that we get through and everybody gets through.
- 11:48Speaker 3: I still remember one time, Chrispy, I walked up the stage.
- 11:51Speaker 2: And I came over to you and I'm like, I
- 11:53Speaker 2: jumped and I did like one of those jump kicks,
- 11:55Speaker 2: and I hit my nose with my knee and I go,
- 11:58Speaker 2: I jump off the stage.
- 11:59Speaker 3: I I think I just broke my own nose with
- 12:01Speaker 3: my knee, so I best.
- 12:03Speaker 2: I think that best describes a Midnight Devil show, breaking
- 12:07Speaker 2: your own nose with your own knee.
- 12:09Speaker 4: Big.
- 12:10Speaker 5: What three songs from the Midnight Devils you suggest people
- 12:13Speaker 5: check out before they covered the Giant.
- 12:15Speaker 2: The The new singles off the record are get Laid.
- 12:18Speaker 2: That song just came out or that song came out
- 12:20Speaker 2: a year ago. Get Laid if you can. That's such
- 12:23Speaker 2: a cool song that we Uh, we did that and
- 12:25Speaker 2: did the video at the Strip Club here in Lincoln
- 12:28Speaker 2: where I'm where I'm headed to work.
- 12:29Speaker 3: It's just a few minutes.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Uh.
- 12:31Speaker 2: The second song is called Shock the World is the
- 12:33Speaker 2: second single. We just released the video for that in July,
- 12:36Speaker 2: and we're gonna be having a third single. I think
- 12:38Speaker 2: we're gonna film the entire tour like on a like
- 12:40Speaker 2: a GoPro and release that as the third single. And
- 12:43Speaker 2: it's the single left Leanan off our new record.
- 12:46Speaker 4: Very nice.
- 12:47Speaker 5: You got a board behind you that says big goals,
- 12:50Speaker 5: but it's written in little leens.
- 12:51Speaker 2: That doesn't You're not supposed to see that.
- 12:57Speaker 3: That's like the it's like the bat.
- 12:59Speaker 2: You're like in the back cave right now, you're not
- 13:00Speaker 2: supposed to see the big goals for the Midnight Devils
- 13:04Speaker 2: top secret information.
- 13:06Speaker 3: I should just say take over the world back there.
- 13:08Speaker 3: It's just big, huge goals, all right.
- 13:11Speaker 5: Then we put you on the spot to start off
- 13:13Speaker 5: with the first impressions. Now we're just about setting what
- 13:16Speaker 5: are your over all impressions of each other.
- 13:19Speaker 3: I love I love your energy.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Sam. I'm so excited you're You seem like such a positive,
- 13:27Speaker 1: full of energy go get her kind of list, and
- 13:30Speaker 1: I'm excited to meet you in person, and I'm excited
- 13:33Speaker 1: to play shows together. Like it's the same thing I
- 13:36Speaker 1: said earlier. I just like this just confirms it and
- 13:41Speaker 1: I'm yeah looking forward to it. Please show me some
- 13:45Speaker 1: kangaroos and koalas and all that.
- 13:49Speaker 3: Don't need the vegamind it's not that good no offense. Yeah,
- 13:52Speaker 3: I know, I know, I heard about that.
- 13:55Speaker 1: I don't want to.
- 13:57Speaker 3: With the meat pies. With the meat pies are where
- 13:59Speaker 3: it's at, Chris for sure?
- 14:02Speaker 5: What do you think about Kollie after speaking with it
- 14:03Speaker 5: for fifteen minutes.
- 14:05Speaker 2: I'm so excited, Chloe, your band is great, Like I
- 14:08Speaker 2: think you guys just released a brand new music video,
- 14:11Speaker 2: is that right?
- 14:12Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, Raise your steps.
- 14:14Speaker 3: I meant to take congratulations on that.
- 14:16Speaker 2: And I'm so excited. Like I said, I love your
- 14:19Speaker 2: style of music. I love the art and the beauty
- 14:21Speaker 2: that's coming that I've just kind of started dabbling in
- 14:25Speaker 2: art and writing outside of rock and roll, and that's
- 14:29Speaker 2: like a new passion that I'm slightly taking on.
- 14:31Speaker 3: And I can see that we might be able to
- 14:33Speaker 3: I might be able to learn some stuff from you,
- 14:34Speaker 3: and that I think is going to be the coolest
- 14:36Speaker 3: thing amazing.
- 14:38Speaker 5: All rights, we'll give us some last words for Australian fans, Kobe,
- 14:42Speaker 5: what do you go to.
- 14:42Speaker 4: Say Australian fans.
- 14:45Speaker 1: I am so ready to meet you. Come come to
- 14:48Speaker 1: our shoes, you know, Sam and I we're gonna be
- 14:52Speaker 1: rocking the stages around around the Australia. I don't even
- 14:56Speaker 1: know the specific dates, but I'm excited and of November
- 14:59Speaker 1: come check us out. We're still excited to meet you
- 15:02Speaker 1: all and have a blast. I think that's like you know,
- 15:05Speaker 1: and so grateful for this opportunity to kind of tour
- 15:10Speaker 1: your country. It's it's a blessing and I'm really so
- 15:14Speaker 1: looking forward to it.
- 15:17Speaker 4: That mean.
- 15:19Speaker 3: I'm gonna do this like the macho man would do.
- 15:21Speaker 2: All right, Australian fans, get ready. At the end of November,
- 15:28Speaker 2: the Midnight Devils Boulevard of Eyes, our brothers ann awaken.
- 15:31Speaker 2: They hate coming to you all the way from the USA,
- 15:36Speaker 2: Ladies and gentlemen for the third time in three years
- 15:38Speaker 2: with our friends Boulevard of Eyes, the Midnight Devil is
- 15:41Speaker 2: gonna be partying.
- 15:42Speaker 3: We are ready to go. I hope you're ready. Nay.
- 15:44Speaker 2: This is actually a challenge for our Australian fans. I
- 15:48Speaker 2: know how crazy you can get, I know how wild
- 15:51Speaker 2: you are. This challenge goes out to you. Should you accept?
- 15:55Speaker 2: Are you up to the challenge of hanging out with
- 15:57Speaker 2: the Midnight Devils at Boulevard of Byes.
- 15:59Speaker 3: For ten solid days. It's a tall order, but I
- 16:01Speaker 3: think you can do it like that,
