- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with IET Radio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: It's the Almost Famous podcast, and we're back with another
- 0:09Speaker 2: recap of the HG TV show Bachelor Mansion Takeover. This time,
- 0:14Speaker 2: the contestants made over the pool area. That iconic pool area,
- 0:20Speaker 2: Ashley that I never swam in.
- 0:22Speaker 3: I never swam in it either was too cold.
- 0:25Speaker 2: It's so cold. I remember night one being like, Okay,
- 0:30Speaker 2: there's a hot tub that could be my escape, Like
- 0:33Speaker 2: that's where I would go. I was thinking I would
- 0:35Speaker 2: go there when things got tense, when I just need
- 0:37Speaker 2: to relax, put my feet up, get a little soaken.
- 0:42Speaker 3: So cold, Oh, the hot tub was cold. Our hot
- 0:44Speaker 3: tub was not so cold. I remember it being warmer.
- 0:47Speaker 3: I don't think it was like hot tub hot.
- 0:49Speaker 2: No, ours was cold. Maybe they just I mean, obviously
- 0:51Speaker 2: energy costs. The show was on a stricter budget during
- 0:55Speaker 2: my time.
- 0:56Speaker 3: What I think it's the opposite. You had way more
- 0:59Speaker 3: budget than they have now.
- 1:01Speaker 2: No, I just was kidding. Hey, before we dive in,
- 1:03Speaker 2: I do want to give a quick update because of
- 1:06Speaker 2: the social media chatter on my face. I'm going to
- 1:08Speaker 2: zoom in here a little bit to the camera so
- 1:10Speaker 2: you can see Ben my nose is broken.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Smashed they say smashed. You broke into spots.
- 1:18Speaker 2: They didn't know. They didn't say smashed. It's it's just
- 1:22Speaker 2: like it was a straight on him.
- 1:23Speaker 3: It was a smash break.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Yeah, So like that's how I'm referring to it. Oh okay,
- 1:28Speaker 2: because they can't set it because it's the break is
- 1:31Speaker 2: like here, So it's just like a chip, like it's
- 1:33Speaker 2: like a fracture.
- 1:35Speaker 3: So are you going to get it done?
- 1:36Speaker 2: My nose done? Maybe I'll tell you if I do.
- 1:39Speaker 2: I don't know. I mean I can't breathe out of
- 1:42Speaker 2: this nostril right now, but I don't know if that's
- 1:44Speaker 2: just because of swelling or if it's now like always
- 1:49Speaker 2: going to be that way. So I mean, if I
- 1:50Speaker 2: can't breathe, oh of course I'm one hundred percent going
- 1:54Speaker 2: to get done.
- 1:55Speaker 3: Yeah. I told Jared about you your accident, and he
- 1:59Speaker 3: was like, oh, he'll be even more rugged with the
- 2:02Speaker 3: broken he should keep it broken rugged. So I was like,
- 2:06Speaker 3: his perfect nose.
- 2:08Speaker 2: I need to see Jared more often. He's so good
- 2:10Speaker 2: for my confidence.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Well, your nose looks like yeah, it's definitely puffey and
- 2:15Speaker 3: it's a little off line.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Yeah, and the black eyes are.
- 2:19Speaker 3: The black eyes? What's most jarring though?
- 2:20Speaker 2: Right now?
- 2:21Speaker 3: Yeah, it's funny because like anybody would look at you
- 2:24Speaker 3: thinking that you got beat.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Yeah, not a trash can. And the nurses when I
- 2:31Speaker 2: went in after our last recording, I told this young
- 2:33Speaker 2: nurse the stories. She goes, Hey, could you come up
- 2:36Speaker 2: with a different story because this is going to go
- 2:37Speaker 2: in your permanent medical record.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Oh yes. The nurses just must love you.
- 2:44Speaker 2: No, they think I'm wild, Okay, Ashley. The pool area,
- 2:49Speaker 2: as we were talking about before, is iconic though there's
- 2:53Speaker 2: so many things that have happened by that pool deck.
- 2:55Speaker 2: I remember the isn't Jake and Vienna Their breakup was
- 2:59Speaker 2: right in front of the pool. It can be so
- 3:01Speaker 2: beautiful out there. It just isn't a space that I
- 3:06Speaker 2: think there's one time for or that the show utilizes
- 3:10Speaker 2: all the time.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Well, there's always a pool party there.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Is, isn't there. But I guess for me, the pool
- 3:15Speaker 2: party didn't exist during Caitlin's season. It existed during my season.
- 3:20Speaker 2: And the lead never gets in the pool because we're
- 3:22Speaker 2: being pulled, Like we don't just like get to hang out,
- 3:25Speaker 2: you're getting pooled, you know, pulled to talk to somebody
- 3:28Speaker 2: so often.
- 3:29Speaker 3: Do you remember how much mel used the pool?
- 3:33Speaker 2: I do. I was gonna say that that was probably
- 3:35Speaker 2: the most we've seen at the pool in a long time.
- 3:38Speaker 3: Right, Yeah. Also, I thought that what Joejo commented on
- 3:44Speaker 3: about the fact that you used to sit out there
- 3:46Speaker 3: with just towels down, that was my biggest memory from it,
- 3:50Speaker 3: Like there's no lounge chair. It's like, what's up with that?
- 3:52Speaker 2: That is interesting. I did take a One of my
- 3:56Speaker 2: favorite memories from the show is I was having a
- 3:58Speaker 2: hard time the first week and I took can nap
- 4:01Speaker 2: out by the on the pergola, and I think I
- 4:03Speaker 2: got to sleep for like two hours that day with
- 4:06Speaker 2: nobody bothering me. I do believe they were filming at
- 4:08Speaker 2: some point me like sleeping. But it was very relaxed.
- 4:12Speaker 2: It's a very relaxing spot.
- 4:14Speaker 3: Mm hmm. Yeah it is. It's good. And this was
- 4:18Speaker 3: an episode that I thought, Okay, this really could be
- 4:22Speaker 3: jazzed up for functionality. The other things were more about
- 4:26Speaker 3: like looks. There was some functionality in the bedrooms, which
- 4:29Speaker 3: was appreciated, but this was one where I was like, actually, yeah,
- 4:33Speaker 3: there needs to be more things to do out there.
- 4:35Speaker 3: I thought the wellness retreat area was such a smart
- 4:39Speaker 3: thing to incorporate. All right, so you ready to like
- 4:42Speaker 3: break down who's on what team and such?
- 4:45Speaker 2: Yeah, let's dive in, all right.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Well, first off, the episode ends with it begins with
- 4:50Speaker 3: Tammy's elimination, because that's kind of how they've been doing things,
- 4:53Speaker 3: eliminating the beginning and the end, and then we got
- 4:56Speaker 3: a double elimination at the end of this episode. So
- 5:01Speaker 3: Noah and Dean's fake battle or fake so we think
- 5:06Speaker 3: he's continuing. Noah calls Dean a piece of Yeah.
- 5:09Speaker 2: That was my question to you, Ashley, was do you
- 5:12Speaker 2: think this is fake or is there like I mean,
- 5:14Speaker 2: they're both so like snarky. Uh, they both are kind
- 5:19Speaker 2: of like in that space of you know what I
- 5:21Speaker 2: want to be on TV, but I don't like care
- 5:24Speaker 2: on how this comes off. Do you think it's fake though,
- 5:27Speaker 2: because it does at some point feel like to me,
- 5:31Speaker 2: even knowing Dean really well, where I'm like, you might
- 5:34Speaker 2: be a little mad.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Okay, so it feels more fake and like cute coming
- 5:42Speaker 3: from Dean. Noah does not smile or laugh when making
- 5:45Speaker 3: fun of Dean, So I'm like, are you just like
- 5:48Speaker 3: a better actor or are you taking this, you know,
- 5:52Speaker 3: fake rivalry in like a joke your way or like
- 5:57Speaker 3: a more serious way. Because I like Dean style more
- 6:01Speaker 3: because with Noah it feels like there might actually be
- 6:03Speaker 3: like some some tension, but Dean seems like it's all
- 6:07Speaker 3: for fun. I think they love I'm not really okay,
- 6:10Speaker 3: I'm really not one hundred percent sure.
- 6:12Speaker 2: But you remember Noahs season of The Bachelorette. He had
- 6:16Speaker 2: that kind of like ye, yes, snarky, be like go
- 6:19Speaker 2: after people behavior. Yes. So that's where I get a
- 6:23Speaker 2: little bit like, Hm.
- 6:24Speaker 3: Should you text Dean right now and be like is
- 6:27Speaker 3: this fake or not?
- 6:29Speaker 2: Yes? I will text Dean as we're doing this and
- 6:31Speaker 2: ask what the insight is.
- 6:33Speaker 3: So then Jesse comes up with their next challenge. Like
- 6:37Speaker 3: we said pool area, the upper side is going to
- 6:40Speaker 3: be called a pool side oasis. The bottom area is
- 6:42Speaker 3: a wellness retreat. The bottom area, like also Jojo mentioned,
- 6:46Speaker 3: for me, was very rarely utilized. I think maybe I
- 6:50Speaker 3: went down there once or twice, it's just not it
- 6:54Speaker 3: was never a place to hang. I remember the girls
- 6:56Speaker 3: that would run like run, they would do lot surround
- 7:00Speaker 3: the house and they would go down there, and that
- 7:03Speaker 3: was like the only time I ever saw it, and
- 7:06Speaker 3: it is it's totally underutilized. This wellness area is such
- 7:10Speaker 3: a good idea because there was no designated workout area
- 7:14Speaker 3: in the house. And did I ever work out? Absolutely not?
- 7:17Speaker 3: Did most people? Yes, including I'm sure you guys. The
- 7:21Speaker 3: weight rock that they added so necessary quote necessary.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Quote quote or useful. I mean it would be like,
- 7:28Speaker 2: I'm with you, where it feels necessary when you're inna
- 7:30Speaker 2: have a house this nice, this big, in that area
- 7:33Speaker 2: where you can be outside so often. M hm, it
- 7:37Speaker 2: doesn't make sense that there wouldn't be some place where
- 7:40Speaker 2: you could get some type of work out in. So
- 7:42Speaker 2: I do think it feels necessary in a lot of ways.
- 7:46Speaker 2: We utilized it just for it. You said we ran
- 7:50Speaker 2: down there a ton. We also had like a makeshift sandbag.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Gym oh okay, see, like it's so weird that for
- 7:57Speaker 3: two decades. I guess that house hasn't been used for
- 7:59Speaker 3: two DECs. Kids. Yeah, but like we're getting there and
- 8:02Speaker 3: they just never had any sort of gym equipment. Everything
- 8:05Speaker 3: was makeshift. It was almost as if it was Bachelor
- 8:07Speaker 3: in Paradise down there.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Yeah, fair enough, but it did feel I don't know
- 8:14Speaker 2: if maybe this is just me. When you went down there,
- 8:16Speaker 2: you did feel like you were off the television show,
- 8:18Speaker 2: which was nice. It was a little bit a little
- 8:21Speaker 2: of a reprieve.
- 8:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I understand. It was definitely a little bit more
- 8:25Speaker 3: of a private area. Let's get to the point where
- 8:28Speaker 3: Jesse says that now the teams are going to be
- 8:32Speaker 3: chosen by they're like, really, I don't know what they're doing,
- 8:37Speaker 3: and see everything's a puzzle. Brandon and no why can't
- 8:41Speaker 3: I ever say the name Brendan. Brendan and Noah are
- 8:46Speaker 3: now the team captains because they were in the bottom
- 8:50Speaker 3: two in the last challenge. Like they're just flying at
- 8:53Speaker 3: the seat of their pants about their decision making here.
- 8:56Speaker 3: They're trying to be twisty turney and get people off guard.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Jesse says that the twist is now they have to
- 9:03Speaker 3: choose players for the opposing team, So like in high
- 9:06Speaker 3: school or whatever, when you're choosing I think it's more
- 9:09Speaker 3: like in movies that this happens. But you want to
- 9:11Speaker 3: choose the best players, right, so now you're going to
- 9:15Speaker 3: basically stack the other team with who you think is
- 9:18Speaker 3: the worst players. Brendan wins the coin toss So then
- 9:23Speaker 3: he chooses that he's going to be decorating the pool
- 9:26Speaker 3: sized pool side oasis, and his team will consist of
- 9:31Speaker 3: as chosen by, as chosen by Noah, Brendan, Dean, Jill,
- 9:36Speaker 3: and Sam. This is the team that I would want
- 9:39Speaker 3: to be on just for sake of camaraderie. I feel
- 9:43Speaker 3: like there's going to be a better chemistry.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Well, two of your closest friends are on that, and.
- 9:47Speaker 3: That's probably why I feel most comfortable. Okay, So then
- 9:52Speaker 3: we have the Wellness Retreat team, which will be Noah, Courtney, Joan,
- 9:55Speaker 3: and Alicia. Jesse says they have three days to finish
- 9:58Speaker 3: the challenge. At the end, two people are going to
- 10:01Speaker 3: be eliminated, so we have day one, Like off to
- 10:06Speaker 3: the races. These guys are not getting along on Team
- 10:10Speaker 3: Wellness Retreat. Courtney is not vibing with Alicia. Alicia is
- 10:19Speaker 3: not vibing with Alicia.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Or comment on that for a second though, I found
- 10:22Speaker 2: it entertaining. Yeah, and you and I both know Courtney.
- 10:27Speaker 2: I just spoke with her for an hour and a
- 10:29Speaker 2: half a couple of weeks ago. She is such a
- 10:32Speaker 2: wonderful human, she really is, and she really wanted this
- 10:37Speaker 2: opportunity to kind of get that fresh start. She said
- 10:40Speaker 2: it in episode one, right, if we look back, this
- 10:42Speaker 2: was a fresh start. But I I mean I said
- 10:47Speaker 2: this during our breakdowns. When you start working on projects
- 10:52Speaker 2: and when you start caring about the outcome of the project,
- 10:55Speaker 2: I think perfectionists will have some irritability with others because
- 11:02Speaker 2: you're asking a bunch of leaders and people who have
- 11:05Speaker 2: strong opinions to follow each other, and the loudest voices win.
- 11:11Speaker 2: I what I don't want, and it could come off
- 11:14Speaker 2: this way, but what I don't want is for anybody
- 11:16Speaker 2: to watch is and be like that Courtney girl. No,
- 11:18Speaker 2: she's amazing, She's a fantastic.
- 11:20Speaker 3: I don't even think that. I actually think that Joan
- 11:24Speaker 3: and Alicia are not being mean girls.
- 11:28Speaker 2: That's just not in Jones DNA.
- 11:30Speaker 3: Though they're kind of giving her attitude. There is a
- 11:34Speaker 3: ganged up feeling about it. I will say, you're totally right.
- 11:39Speaker 3: These are like three Type A girls who are having
- 11:43Speaker 3: to like in a team setting, go back and forth
- 11:46Speaker 3: between type being Type A and Type B. And for
- 11:49Speaker 3: some reason there's a better friendship chemistry between Joan and
- 11:53Speaker 3: Alicia that's keeping them just more cordial in this competition setting.
- 11:59Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, so we know Joan so well's she
- 12:02Speaker 2: again is a sweet, wise, kind human. Yeah, I think
- 12:07Speaker 2: the factor here and I actually love this And I
- 12:09Speaker 2: wish when you said earlier, this has been such a
- 12:12Speaker 2: twisty attorney show. There seems to be no consistency on
- 12:16Speaker 2: how people are getting eliminated and how teams are being picked.
- 12:18Speaker 2: I wish they would have made that happen, because it
- 12:21Speaker 2: would have helped us follow along a little easier and
- 12:24Speaker 2: not be so thrown off every episode. But I think
- 12:27Speaker 2: the show in its own right has something very substantial
- 12:32Speaker 2: in the fact that they are getting people in who
- 12:34Speaker 2: are very passionate about the work being done, and passion
- 12:38Speaker 2: brings out this level of intensity that is exciting to watch.
- 12:42Speaker 2: I like that these contestants care not about necessarily winning
- 12:46Speaker 2: the show yet it's so early on, but they care
- 12:49Speaker 2: so much about the projects being done. And I think
- 12:51Speaker 2: that's where we see it in Joan. I don't know
- 12:54Speaker 2: Alicia well enough to comment on it, but I think
- 12:56Speaker 2: she just really cares, and as a result, this like
- 13:00Speaker 2: work mentality is coming in where it's like, no, we
- 13:03Speaker 2: need to get it done in this way, and maybe
- 13:05Speaker 2: her and Alicia just see the outcome and the project
- 13:10Speaker 2: in a more similar fashion.
- 13:12Speaker 3: I do like kind of love those seeing Courtney's not
- 13:16Speaker 3: really it's like the reminiscent of old what is it
- 13:20Speaker 3: twenty ten? Courtney is fannic. Yeah, like just seeing her
- 13:26Speaker 3: make like an facial expression here or there. I love
- 13:31Speaker 3: her and arrival her situation. She's just funny about it.
- 13:36Speaker 3: And I felt bad when they were like, she's using
- 13:38Speaker 3: the mom card. I'm like, I we have like kids
- 13:41Speaker 3: of similar ages, and I'm just like, it's not a
- 13:45Speaker 3: mom card. Like, it's just your life at this point,
- 13:47Speaker 3: and you can't avoid it. It's just infiltrated in you.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Ah yeah, now it's fair. I mean, it's it is
- 13:55Speaker 2: the not excuse for everything, but you can't. It's kind
- 13:59Speaker 2: of you can't filter your life through any other lens
- 14:03Speaker 2: other than the fact that like that is the thing. Yeah,
- 14:06Speaker 2: you know obviously Jones.
- 14:07Speaker 3: As well, but yeah, yeah, exactly. Okay, Well, then let's
- 14:22Speaker 3: talk about what they're talking about doing for the hit.
- 14:26Speaker 3: It the pool area. They want to grill up there,
- 14:29Speaker 3: which is a great idea. I can't believe that there's
- 14:32Speaker 3: not a grill out there and a keg so that's cool.
- 14:36Speaker 3: They want to repurpose the artwork that was taken from
- 14:38Speaker 3: the bunk room. This ends up being kind of a
- 14:41Speaker 3: controversial move because the girls team won that challenge and
- 14:46Speaker 3: now there's another team that's not the team that took
- 14:50Speaker 3: down that artwork that's going to be using it. And
- 14:53Speaker 3: I think there was a comment like whatever's taken down,
- 14:56Speaker 3: you can't repurpose, and they end up doing it and
- 14:59Speaker 3: it does look great.
- 15:01Speaker 2: That just doesn't make sense to me. Do you repurpose
- 15:03Speaker 2: stuff in your house of course all the time.
- 15:06Speaker 3: Yeah, and especially something like that, which knowing what the
- 15:09Speaker 3: door is like in that house, it's like from India,
- 15:12Speaker 3: like handcrafted, imported, like it like weighs like three hundred
- 15:16Speaker 3: pounds on each side. That this thing was definitely worth
- 15:20Speaker 3: something very like it was a very high value piece
- 15:24Speaker 3: and it should be. I get what they're saying though,
- 15:27Speaker 3: They're like, you can't use something that we want, you know,
- 15:29Speaker 3: one with but whatever, and then what else are they
- 15:32Speaker 3: gonna add? Oh, downstairs and the wellness retreat, They're gonna
- 15:35Speaker 3: of course make the bar, like we notice they're gonna
- 15:36Speaker 3: have a juice bar. They're gonna have an outdoor shower,
- 15:39Speaker 3: and sauna. Love both of those ideas, because one, there's
- 15:44Speaker 3: not enough showers in the house. You might actually have
- 15:46Speaker 3: a more private shower experience if you're down there. Of
- 15:49Speaker 3: course you'll be wearing a bathing suit. I would assume
- 15:52Speaker 3: having a sauna is such a good idea. And then
- 15:57Speaker 3: they have the argument over the fact that Fortnaney wants
- 16:00Speaker 3: to add turf and Joan does not. Gorney also wants
- 16:04Speaker 3: string lights, which I think would be necessary and add
- 16:07Speaker 3: to the ambiance. And you can use the whole situation,
- 16:10Speaker 3: the whole atmosphere at night if you have the lights on,
- 16:16Speaker 3: and that would be a great place, not just for
- 16:20Speaker 3: rose ceremonies and such that would maybe feel a little
- 16:22Speaker 3: bit weird to have them downstairs in like a gem area, Yeah,
- 16:27Speaker 3: but it would be so good for people that want
- 16:29Speaker 3: to have workouts at night because it is so hot
- 16:33Speaker 3: in that area in September during the day.
- 16:36Speaker 2: You know, so many of these if you pull back,
- 16:39Speaker 2: and I wonder if the contestants watching this feel this way.
- 16:41Speaker 2: So many of these arguments feel so minor. Right, you
- 16:45Speaker 2: need lighting, uh, and I think string lights are so
- 16:50Speaker 2: in Are they still in?
- 16:52Speaker 3: Well? Where are you used to put what else, so
- 16:53Speaker 3: you have put lamps out there? How else you can
- 16:55Speaker 3: get floodlights? No, the string lights made the most sense.
- 16:58Speaker 3: I also when being the final product, was like, what
- 17:02Speaker 3: would you have put there if you didn't put turf?
- 17:06Speaker 3: Turf was a perfect gym floor for the outside.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Yeah, because I mean you can't. There's very few options
- 17:14Speaker 2: when it comes to an outdoor workout area other than
- 17:17Speaker 2: turf or the padding concrete. All these ideas are and
- 17:24Speaker 2: everybody's having good ideas. I just think everybody here is
- 17:27Speaker 2: getting stuck in a vision of their own and at
- 17:32Speaker 2: some point, if you were smart during this, you're just
- 17:35Speaker 2: a really good follower of somebody else's vision. But all
- 17:39Speaker 2: these people are so visionary, Yeah that they come in
- 17:43Speaker 2: as soon as they hear oh we're going to design
- 17:45Speaker 2: a workout area or we're going to design the oasis,
- 17:49Speaker 2: they say this is what it's going to look like,
- 17:50Speaker 2: and then they just run with it.
- 17:52Speaker 3: Yeah, they should have thrown some of us new like
- 17:56Speaker 3: non designers in there before that. That's great Ideah. I
- 18:01Speaker 3: love that support Ashley knows nothing about interior design, just.
- 18:08Speaker 2: A straight hype team. Then an Ashley hired designers. Actually,
- 18:16Speaker 2: I want to stop for a second and comment on
- 18:20Speaker 2: the Taisha Tyler dynamic. How's that working for you during
- 18:23Speaker 2: the show? Are you enjoying it?
- 18:26Speaker 3: I think they're doing a good job balancing. Yeah, Taisha's
- 18:29Speaker 3: definitely the scarier one, and Tyler he delivers his criticism
- 18:35Speaker 3: a little bit more gently. I just think he's like
- 18:37Speaker 3: kind of a gentle dude. Yeah, what do you think.
- 18:41Speaker 2: I do think there's it's a good dynamic. I am
- 18:45Speaker 2: still it's not it's not because of them. I'm still
- 18:48Speaker 2: in the place where it's too many, Like we have
- 18:51Speaker 2: just too many like leaders right now. We have a
- 18:53Speaker 2: Jesse Palmer with the Tasha and Tyler's and then every
- 18:56Speaker 2: one of the contestants is also a leader in their
- 18:58Speaker 2: own right. It just it feels like it's too much
- 19:02Speaker 2: leadership and like high art, not not even hierarchy, but
- 19:05Speaker 2: it just feels like everybody is trying to get their
- 19:08Speaker 2: voice in and it doesn't really make sense with the
- 19:10Speaker 2: consistency of the show. It almost to me would have
- 19:14Speaker 2: been better to have like three not well known silent
- 19:19Speaker 2: judges who just kind of vote on it and we
- 19:22Speaker 2: just hear the vote more than all these voices that
- 19:25Speaker 2: are always like coming at us. All the time with
- 19:28Speaker 2: their opinions, and this is probably where my design expertise flaws.
- 19:34Speaker 2: When it comes to design and when it comes to projects,
- 19:39Speaker 2: opinion is necessary, and not everybody's going to agree on
- 19:43Speaker 2: the aesthetic they like or what they think should happen.
- 19:46Speaker 2: There's not a right and wrong, So I don't necessarily
- 19:49Speaker 2: want people telling me during the show what was right
- 19:51Speaker 2: and what was wrong More than what I just want
- 19:54Speaker 2: people like sharing personal opinions of and we can make
- 19:58Speaker 2: the judgment from there. That's why I'm like, I don't
- 20:00Speaker 2: know if the judging necessarily needs to be so much
- 20:02Speaker 2: in our face.
- 20:03Speaker 3: Okay, I get that, totally get that. So I guess
- 20:05Speaker 3: that leads us into the cannonball competition, the jumping off
- 20:12Speaker 3: the deck of Okay, so they're going to be rated
- 20:16Speaker 3: one to ten on the creativity of a diving style.
- 20:20Speaker 3: They get assigned and the team with the highest score
- 20:22Speaker 3: will win something big. What they end up winning is
- 20:27Speaker 3: a one of a kind botanical design. They can put
- 20:30Speaker 3: it wherever they want. It's a very silly moment where
- 20:34Speaker 3: like there's like an interpretive dance and dive where they're
- 20:38Speaker 3: like be a jackhammer, be like a you know, a
- 20:44Speaker 3: wrecking ball. Yeah, and you know, there's really not much,
- 20:50Speaker 3: but the Oasis team wins and they get to put
- 20:53Speaker 3: a design up on the arches, which does look really beautiful,
- 20:58Speaker 3: and once they're up, it kind of looks like, oh wow,
- 21:01Speaker 3: that was a missing piece that it should have been
- 21:02Speaker 3: there forever.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Yeah, it's I was nervous because it's always scary when
- 21:07Speaker 2: you tell Dean to do something like wild to win
- 21:11Speaker 2: a competition.
- 21:12Speaker 3: Oh. He was the best highlight for me.
- 21:15Speaker 2: He'll do anything. If you're like, hey, Dean, go to
- 21:17Speaker 2: this fourth story, jump off and see if you hit
- 21:20Speaker 2: to pool and if you do, you win ten bucks.
- 21:22Speaker 2: I bet Dean does it.
- 21:23Speaker 3: Oh yeah, definitely. Well he was an electrocuted guy and
- 21:27Speaker 3: he did a great job doing it. I also just
- 21:29Speaker 3: want to make note before we move on. Our producer
- 21:32Speaker 3: said that there was a misunderstanding about the art pieces.
- 21:36Speaker 3: The misunderstanding was that they weren't able to reconstruct the
- 21:41Speaker 3: art pieces, like they couldn't cut them in half, but
- 21:43Speaker 3: they could reuse them.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Yeah. Probably because as soon as this thing's over, Marshall's like,
- 21:49Speaker 2: I like those doors. I paid for those doors. Those
- 21:52Speaker 2: are going right back in absolutely.
- 21:56Speaker 3: Okay, we have more fights on the wellness team throughout
- 22:01Speaker 3: this day. Courtney wants a monochromatic look with tiles in
- 22:05Speaker 3: the shower wall, Joan and Alicia wants something brighter. What's
- 22:11Speaker 3: funny is like, Noah, he created this team and he
- 22:14Speaker 3: is not in this episode a lot because he doesn't
- 22:18Speaker 3: have a lot of conflict with his teammates. Yeah, Noah
- 22:31Speaker 3: ends up getting a call from home during this Maybe
- 22:34Speaker 3: this is why he isn't like involved in much drama.
- 22:38Speaker 3: That he got bad news from home. He does not
- 22:41Speaker 3: elaborate on what it is, and he says that you know,
- 22:44Speaker 3: he's gonna like kind of focus in on work to
- 22:46Speaker 3: get his mind off of it. And you know, he
- 22:49Speaker 3: just like isn't going to be very sociable. I feel
- 22:52Speaker 3: really bad. I have no idea what happened. And it's sad,
- 22:54Speaker 3: Like if it's so private that he didn't mention it,
- 22:57Speaker 3: that's like obviously something pretty serious.
- 22:59Speaker 2: Yeah, and you know, he is such a I think,
- 23:03Speaker 2: no it would be such a fun hang because he
- 23:06Speaker 2: is so he's quick, he's funny, he's snarky. I can
- 23:12Speaker 2: see where him and Dean honestly would get along really well.
- 23:14Speaker 2: I haven't got a text back from Dean yet because
- 23:17Speaker 2: they have such a similar like way of communicating, but
- 23:21Speaker 2: yet they're both so talented and both so driven. But yeah,
- 23:26Speaker 2: I mean that is it is a moment where yes,
- 23:29Speaker 2: Noah does have a personal problem, we do need to
- 23:31Speaker 2: comment on that and then say we didn't elaborate on it,
- 23:34Speaker 2: which is fine, but he is kind of taking a
- 23:38Speaker 2: back seat, I think during this episode.
- 23:41Speaker 3: Yep, this day is the one where we mentioned we
- 23:44Speaker 3: had the string like controversy, we had the wooden peace controversy,
- 23:51Speaker 3: and the gym equipment comes in. Dean steals one of
- 23:56Speaker 3: their weights and hides it, which is pretty funny. And
- 23:58Speaker 3: then Courtney over to the other team basically being like, yeah,
- 24:04Speaker 3: they don't really like me and they're plotting against me
- 24:08Speaker 3: and Jill. They obviously don't like Jill either, And I'm
- 24:11Speaker 3: not sure why they don't like Jill. Oh. I mean,
- 24:14Speaker 3: we know that al Alicia has like her drama with
- 24:18Speaker 3: her during Paradise and they kind of went in with those,
- 24:23Speaker 3: you know, bad vibes. But why would Joan not like Jill.
- 24:28Speaker 3: I don't get it. She just thinks she's bossy. I guess.
- 24:32Speaker 3: I guess Jill has like a certain edge to her.
- 24:36Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean this show right now, the way they're
- 24:40Speaker 2: doing the eliminations and somewhat even the competitions, it does
- 24:46Speaker 2: feel like personal vendettas will right now at least outrank
- 24:52Speaker 2: worse skill skill.
- 24:53Speaker 3: Definitely. That's why it's weird. It's like, why are we
- 24:57Speaker 3: using this competition? Is definitely more of like whose personality
- 25:02Speaker 3: is gonna win out instead of whose skill will win out?
- 25:06Speaker 2: I want to see more of the skill.
- 25:07Speaker 3: Yeah. Same producer Heather is reminding me that they didn't vibe.
- 25:11Speaker 3: Joan and Jill didn't vibe when they were putting together
- 25:14Speaker 3: the bunk room. That is true, but like, really we're
- 25:16Speaker 3: gonna like have design well now, it's just because it's
- 25:20Speaker 3: just it's just too many type A personalities, that is
- 25:23Speaker 3: truly what.
- 25:23Speaker 2: Is going on. That's what that's my takeaway right now.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, So at the end of it all,
- 25:29Speaker 3: we have Jojo back. We have not Jojo back, she
- 25:32Speaker 3: hasn't been part, but we have Jojo here back at
- 25:35Speaker 3: the mansion to be the guest judge. I am further
- 25:38Speaker 3: annoyed that she's not in Tasia's spot and nothing against Tasha.
- 25:42Speaker 3: Love Tasha, but Jojo I just feel like is meant
- 25:46Speaker 3: to be the host of the show with Tyler with her.
- 25:49Speaker 3: You know, that's what she's been doing for over a decade,
- 25:52Speaker 3: flipping home. She went into The Bachelor doing that. She's
- 25:57Speaker 3: such a good host too, and she's also pregnant, so
- 26:00Speaker 3: who knows. Maybe she didn't want to do that, but
- 26:02Speaker 3: she is such a natural in this role.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Do you know I made a cameo during this episode.
- 26:08Speaker 3: Ben is in a little bit of a cameo. He
- 26:12Speaker 3: They had stars that, Yeah, you're a star of this
- 26:16Speaker 3: HGGV show. They show a lot of you and Jojo together.
- 26:20Speaker 3: You guys are so cute and soya.
- 26:21Speaker 2: I'm not sure she loved that, and I'm sure I
- 26:23Speaker 2: loved it.
- 26:24Speaker 3: Literally, you guys are just such cute friends.
- 26:28Speaker 2: Now, Yeah, she's a great human. I love judges. She's awesome.
- 26:32Speaker 3: So they're gonna go and they're gonna judge this. The
- 26:35Speaker 3: Oasis team. They love all the lounging places. They also
- 26:40Speaker 3: really love the outdoor grill spot. They love the rose
- 26:43Speaker 3: detail and the grill plates. That is an amazing thought.
- 26:46Speaker 3: That was cute. Love of love. They like the pizza
- 26:49Speaker 3: of him and the repurposed artwork. What they don't love
- 26:54Speaker 3: is that they don't have any interactive elements here, which
- 26:59Speaker 3: I understand and I'm not a game girl. Like if
- 27:01Speaker 3: I see bags or well, what do you call them these?
- 27:06Speaker 3: On the like in New England they call them bags,
- 27:08Speaker 3: which is like the lamest name.
- 27:10Speaker 2: What is the corn hornhole?
- 27:11Speaker 3: Yeah, thank you cornhole. It's like the most trashy thing bags.
- 27:16Speaker 2: I don't know if corn hole's any better, though.
- 27:18Speaker 3: It probably is. It okay, So like if I see
- 27:22Speaker 3: a board like that, I am not gonna play it,
- 27:25Speaker 3: but I know that so many people will, So if
- 27:27Speaker 3: they had that, that would be good. If they had, Like,
- 27:30Speaker 3: I don't know, what's another outdoor game that they could
- 27:34Speaker 3: have been corporate.
- 27:34Speaker 2: I really like the gay like horseshoes is really fun
- 27:37Speaker 2: and I think it's coming back. We used to, you know,
- 27:39Speaker 2: obviously it was a big thing in the sixties seventies,
- 27:42Speaker 2: was horseshoes where you take a steak put in the ground,
- 27:45Speaker 2: throw horseshoes around it. There is the rich person game croquete.
- 27:50Speaker 3: Yeah, they could have incorporated some outdoor games that'd been cute. Yeah,
- 27:55Speaker 3: I understand that. Ding they said that they didn't love
- 28:00Speaker 3: a tile. That's what Tyler said, and they didn't see
- 28:03Speaker 3: any big risk taking. They did love all the seating options.
- 28:07Speaker 3: Seating really really was a game changer for me. It
- 28:11Speaker 3: reminded me how little we had out there. And then
- 28:16Speaker 3: the Wellness Retreat team, they said they loved the gymeria
- 28:21Speaker 3: and the turf. I was happy for Courtney that she
- 28:24Speaker 3: got that ding ding ding, And then they like the
- 28:28Speaker 3: juice bar. They were fans of the string lights, which
- 28:32Speaker 3: was another woo for Courtney, and they were big fans
- 28:36Speaker 3: of the outdoor shower and sauna. They really didn't have
- 28:39Speaker 3: much bad feedback for them. They liked the faux grass.
- 28:45Speaker 3: They think that everything was intentional design. Jojo or Jojo
- 28:49Speaker 3: did really like the string lights, and then they loved
- 28:53Speaker 3: the tiles. That was another contention point in the shower,
- 28:57Speaker 3: so there was really nothing to complain about their considering.
- 29:01Speaker 3: That was the more contentious team. It was surprising that
- 29:05Speaker 3: they ended up winning, but when you look at the
- 29:08Speaker 3: final products, both of them were so good that they
- 29:13Speaker 3: both could have won. But the Wellness one I think
- 29:17Speaker 3: was more. I think actually they were just probably given
- 29:21Speaker 3: the task that was more important, Like we needed to
- 29:25Speaker 3: utilize that space more and we needed to add in
- 29:30Speaker 3: pieces like that would give contestants piece and that would
- 29:34Speaker 3: give them a workout space. So they probably I mean
- 29:38Speaker 3: they won, I would say, because they were probably just
- 29:42Speaker 3: given the better task.
- 29:43Speaker 2: Here's two things I want to show I would love.
- 29:45Speaker 2: One is I do believe both these spaces were created
- 29:49Speaker 2: and they needed to be functional and not overdone, and
- 29:52Speaker 2: so the outcomes for both were functionality. They're gonna get used.
- 29:56Speaker 2: I would use them if I lived in the house.
- 29:58Speaker 2: They're not outrageous. They didn't like build some like crazy
- 30:03Speaker 2: sushi counter outside by the pool like it was. It's
- 30:07Speaker 2: like a very usable space for both these these teams,
- 30:10Speaker 2: and I do think that's important when it comes to
- 30:12Speaker 2: an outdoor setting. Yeah, here's what I would love, Ashley.
- 30:15Speaker 2: And maybe it is because I like Courtney so much,
- 30:18Speaker 2: but I also, you know, love Joan so much. What
- 30:21Speaker 2: I would really love is because Courtney, you know, really
- 30:25Speaker 2: hit a home run with the turf and the string lights. Specifically,
- 30:30Speaker 2: I would love for them to sit down as a
- 30:33Speaker 2: team afterwards and have like a breakdown of Okay, here's
- 30:36Speaker 2: what the judges said. It's like almost like a confessional
- 30:39Speaker 2: of whose idea was this? Maybe, like that's where Jesse
- 30:42Speaker 2: steps in. It's like, whose idea was the string lights?
- 30:45Speaker 3: They did that? They did do that that one time.
- 30:47Speaker 3: They were like Courtney, who was the lights? And it
- 30:50Speaker 3: was Courtney and then Joan was like, yeah, it was Courtney,
- 30:53Speaker 3: Like you know, she acknowledged.
- 30:55Speaker 2: I just want a little more like back and forth
- 30:58Speaker 2: on that, like, hey, will you listen to me now?
- 31:00Speaker 2: I'm not terribly like terrible at this?
- 31:02Speaker 3: Yeah, definitely, yeah, all right, Well next week, Oh, oh,
- 31:06Speaker 3: holy crap, I forgot about the big thing, the elimination.
- 31:10Speaker 3: And this is the dumb This was the dumbest elimination
- 31:12Speaker 3: situation possible. What happens is the winning team, which is
- 31:18Speaker 3: Wellness Retreat, needs to choose one person to save from elimination.
- 31:24Speaker 3: On the losing team, the one that ever and again
- 31:27Speaker 3: it is like, this is what Heather and I had
- 31:30Speaker 3: the biggest complaints about last week. Are you saving someone
- 31:33Speaker 3: based on personality? Are you saving somebody from something like
- 31:36Speaker 3: because of merit and skill? So doesn't make any sense.
- 31:42Speaker 3: Are you gonna have the best designer at the end
- 31:44Speaker 3: of this competition or are you gonna have the most
- 31:47Speaker 3: liked person Anyway, so they end up saving Sam. Sam
- 31:52Speaker 3: is the one that everybody seems to have not so
- 31:54Speaker 3: many issues with Sam. Now Sam, Yeah, I know, great
- 31:59Speaker 3: for Sam because he was he was contentious on his season.
- 32:02Speaker 3: Sam now has to choose one member of his own
- 32:05Speaker 3: team to save. He chooses to save Dean. Was this
- 32:10Speaker 3: choice because he feels like Dean would have been eliminated
- 32:14Speaker 3: just because of like personal drama That could be it?
- 32:17Speaker 3: Or is it based on merit that could also be it.
- 32:21Speaker 3: Then that means that by process of elimination, Jill and
- 32:25Speaker 3: Brendan are now eliminated. They are both excited, they say,
- 32:30Speaker 3: to be leaving the toxic situation, which is Joan and Alicia.
- 32:37Speaker 3: Oh yeah, this is this is so dramatic, like this
- 32:40Speaker 3: was seeming like something that happened on the Regular Show.
- 32:43Speaker 3: Because Jill says in Alicia's ear as she's leaving, don't
- 32:48Speaker 3: ever lie about me again. Alicia looks confused by this.
- 32:54Speaker 3: It seems to be in regards to what possibly Courtney
- 32:57Speaker 3: brought up to Jill earlier in the episode about like,
- 33:00Speaker 3: you know, bringing her down. Yeah, and that, yeah, she
- 33:04Speaker 3: was trying to vote Courtney off in the last challenge
- 33:07Speaker 3: and all that.
- 33:09Speaker 2: I mean, let's be honest, you're getting a bunch of
- 33:11Speaker 2: bachelor and bachelorette people together in one house like drama
- 33:14Speaker 2: will ensue and exist, and it's it's part of the
- 33:17Speaker 2: fun of it all. But there are some past relationships
- 33:22Speaker 2: that have obviously that are obviously still affecting this. I'm
- 33:26Speaker 2: enjoying watching this. Actually, I'm enjoying seeing the mansion again
- 33:31Speaker 2: and being renovated. What I don't love about this seat
- 33:36Speaker 2: show so far is the consistency. I don't know what
- 33:40Speaker 2: each episode is going to bring and how people are
- 33:41Speaker 2: going to be eliminated, and how people are going to
- 33:43Speaker 2: win and not win. That part is frustrating to me.
- 33:48Speaker 2: I'd say the part that's most frustrating to me, though,
- 33:51Speaker 2: is the fact, as you said, it is a friendship
- 33:55Speaker 2: battle more than it is a skill battle. It is
- 33:58Speaker 2: it is who who's friends with who? And how are
- 34:01Speaker 2: we going to keep my closest friend around more than
- 34:04Speaker 2: it is that the most and maybe it has worked out.
- 34:08Speaker 2: I don't even know at this point who the most
- 34:09Speaker 2: skilled person is. Necessarily that hasn't been highlighted, and I
- 34:13Speaker 2: think that's what I was really excited about when it
- 34:16Speaker 2: came to the show, was seeing these people that we
- 34:17Speaker 2: know and that we love and that we've been around
- 34:20Speaker 2: also show off their skills and who rises to the top.
- 34:23Speaker 2: Maybe for the rest of the season we'll see that.
- 34:26Speaker 2: I haven't seen it yet. It just feels like a
- 34:27Speaker 2: friendship battle, and that's to me. It's like a little
- 34:30Speaker 2: petty maybe would be the word I would use.
- 34:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree. Heather and I were talking last week
- 34:36Speaker 3: about how it should have been like some point system
- 34:38Speaker 3: and there shouldn't have been eliminations, but like everybody should
- 34:41Speaker 3: have gotten a certain amount of points or like the
- 34:43Speaker 3: team itself, and then over the week, if the team
- 34:46Speaker 3: you like hold the number that your team got that week,
- 34:50Speaker 3: and then whoever had been on the most successful teams
- 34:54Speaker 3: throughout the entire thing would have won out. This would
- 34:57Speaker 3: have made way more sense. And I just want to
- 34:59Speaker 3: clarify because this is a little convoluted. So Jill says,
- 35:05Speaker 3: don't ever lie about me again, and what we think
- 35:09Speaker 3: that she's referring to is that Alicia said Jill wanted
- 35:14Speaker 3: to vote off Courtney in the last challenge, and that's
- 35:17Speaker 3: what Courtney had heard. So it's all like, you know,
- 35:22Speaker 3: a little bippin' in the ears, little birdies are talking,
- 35:25Speaker 3: and so it's all getting very dramatic and it's pretty crazy.
- 35:29Speaker 3: But next week, and also, sorry, I'm all over the place,
- 35:33Speaker 3: but I did say that there was one thing that
- 35:36Speaker 3: Joan didn't have to be fake about because she was
- 35:40Speaker 3: saying goodbye to Jill. Joan said, like, it was so
- 35:43Speaker 3: great getting to know you, and it just seemed fake.
- 35:47Speaker 3: So just like just huger and say bye, see you soon.
- 35:51Speaker 3: I don't think that would have rubbed off on Jill
- 35:53Speaker 3: very well.
- 35:54Speaker 2: Jill's great TV. Let's just say that she goes on
- 35:57Speaker 2: television and she is fantastic to watch. Next week, they
- 36:01Speaker 2: are renovating the mixer room and the terrace and the kitchen.
- 36:06Speaker 2: That's a big one. The kitchen. Nate Burkis is on
- 36:08Speaker 2: the show. Love Nate, Alicia and Courtney are still butting heads,
- 36:13Speaker 2: and we see a redemption chance for contestants who were
- 36:17Speaker 2: previously eliminated to compete again. We'll see what that's all about.
- 36:21Speaker 2: That's gonna be fun.
- 36:22Speaker 3: So that feels to me like old school American Idol
- 36:25Speaker 3: wild Card, where it was like if you were in
- 36:27Speaker 3: a bad group one week, or you were in a
- 36:30Speaker 3: specific group where there was like a lot of standouts,
- 36:32Speaker 3: and then you are the one that was eliminated because
- 36:35Speaker 3: you were in a group of so many standouts. This
- 36:37Speaker 3: is your chance to get back in.
- 36:39Speaker 2: I like it. I mean I want to see Jill
- 36:42Speaker 2: on my television as much as possible. She's always Same time, Ashley.
- 36:46Speaker 2: Another week of the Bachelor Mansion Renovation Show. Obviously, we
