- 0:46Good day and welcome to another episode of Unity Without Compromise.
- 0:52Today I'm going to speak to you right from the heart and with the full intent of the title of this program, Unity Without Compromise, I want to talk to you today about 10 heresies that are commonly defended by Christians.
- 1:09So I'm going to be pretty bold, pretty straightforward, and I want to prepare you for that.
- 1:15Truth hurts.
- 1:16We must admit that.
- 1:18For all of us, truth hurts, especially when it applies to our own errors.
- 1:24Keep that in mind.
- 1:25But while truth hurts, deception kills.
- 1:28And I think we should keep that in mind as well.
- 1:31Have you noticed?
- 1:32We survived, right?
- 1:34The entire pandemic, but look at how many people are still suddenly dying because they believed the lie.
- 1:41And of course, we now live in a new age of deception.
- 1:46There's always been deception throughout history.
- 1:48But the new age of deception is pretty strong and it's ramping up.
- 1:53And that really bothers me because a lot of people are going to be cured, killed and hurt.
- 1:59But right now, I'm also pleased because what I find is that people seem to be really clamoring for authenticity.
- 2:08And I'm going to give you a pretty heavy dose of that today.
- 2:14But you know, clamoring for authenticity.
- 2:17What's that?
- 2:18What does that mean?
- 2:18Well, I think it means that you're interested in truth.
- 2:24But let's ask ourselves do we really want the truth?
- 2:29And can we handle it?
- 2:33Well, I'm going to test that today by exposing a few basic biblical truths.
- 2:41And I'll tell you right now, they may offend many Christians.
- 2:46I won't deny that, and I'm I'm not trying to be offensive in exposing these truths, but how can they be offensive?
- 2:54Well, it's very simple.
- 2:56People just don't seem to know the Bible anymore.
- 2:59Or people refuse to accept biblical teaching when it conflicts with their agenda or their job or their personal lifestyle, or their cherished wrong teachings that they were raised with.
- 3:20They cherish them more than the biblical truth.
- 3:24Now, I hope you're thinking right now, hey, wait a minute, just who do you think you are, Mr.
- 3:30Smarty Pants?
- 3:31What makes you think you know the Bible so well, right?
- 3:34I hope you're thinking that about me the way I'm talking right now, because it's a fair enough question, but it is an irrelevant question if we allow the Bible to speak for itself, plain and simple, and if I offer no personal opinions, and if I do nothing to twist the scriptures in any way for any reason.
- 4:03Now, some may think that's impossible to do, and I'll grant you, no speech is free from bias.
- 4:10I totally agree with that.
- 4:12And I'll even go further to say that for humans to agree on every biblical principle, every biblical truth is just asking too much.
- 4:25We are too flawed, we are too tainted by sin, we are too human to be able to attain to full unity without compromise.
- 4:39Now, this statement itself is a biblical truth that everyone might actually agree upon.
- 4:47The Bible does contain some hard sayings.
- 4:51Things that are actually hard to understand.
- 4:55But a lot of the hard sayings in Scripture are hard because they are difficult for us to accept and to put into action for the reasons that I just specified above, because they conflict with our agenda, our job, our personal lifestyle, our reputation, our income, or our former beliefs that we have ingrained into our brains as being biblical truths when maybe they are not.
- 5:34So I'm going to challenge you today, and I am sure that I'm going to make a few people offended, and I don't intend to do that.
- 5:42That is not my plan.
- 5:44But what is important?
- 5:48Well, what's really important is not that we divide over plain biblical truths.
- 5:57The Bible contains hard sayings, many are hard sayings because we simply don't want to accept fundamental biblical truths stated in plain Greek or Hebrew or Aramaic.
- 6:13Some sayings, in fact, in Scripture are so simple and they are so straightforward that you'd think everyone would agree on them.
- 6:23But we don't.
- 6:25Instead, we divide over them.
- 6:27And that might explain the 45,000 plus Christian denominations that we supposedly have in the world today.
- 6:38Now, does this please God?
- 6:41Well, I'm not going to give you my opinion on that.
- 6:44But what does the scripture say?
- 6:47Well, before I get into it, uh, I want to give you a full disclosure so that you can really protect yourself from me.
- 6:54Now, I profess to be a Christian.
- 6:58Nothing more, nothing less.
- 7:00Nothing less.
- 7:01My parents raised me Roman Catholic.
- 7:01My parents raised me Roman Catholic.
- 7:05But that did not make me a Christian.
- 7:05But that did not make me a Christian.
- 7:08I didn't become a Christian until I actually read God's word myself in the Bible and responded to its teachings based on what I've read.
- 7:08I didn't become a Christian until I actually read God's word myself in the Bible and responded to its teachings based on what I've read.
- 7:21And it was very refreshing.
- 7:21And it was very refreshing.
- 7:23But as I grew in the faith by studying the Bible, I saw
- 7:23But as I grew in the faith by studying the Bible, I saw pretty quickly that division in God's family was the norm.
- 7:35And it really troubled me.
- 7:38This is the work of Satan.
- 7:40And so I determined early on in my Christian walk to know Jesus Christ and God's revelation according to the scriptures alone.
- 7:52And I was passionate, and I still am passionate about never being deceived again, as I was deceived in the Roman Catholic Church.
- 8:07Now, if I must have a bias, then I just pray that I'm going to have the bias of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior.
- 8:16In that spirit today, I want to expose some common heresies that the overwhelming majority of Christians defend and teach.
- 8:27Now I'll be right up front with you.
- 8:29I want to invite anyone to challenge me on these heresies.
- 8:35If you're serious and if you're sensible, and if you believe that I'm wrong, I invite you to come on this show.
- 8:42We'll talk.
- 8:43But you have to have your Bible open and you have to put aside your opinions.
- 8:49And let's examine the scriptures to see whether these things are so or not.
- 8:56In the spirit of the noble-minded Bereans.
- 9:00We just have to do our best to reason together to make sense out of these straightforward teachings.
- 9:09Well, shall we begin?
- 9:10Now remember, how many am I going to offend today?
- 9:14Well, I don't know.
- 9:16Hopefully not everyone, but that is not at all my intent.
- 9:20So here they are.
- 9:22The quintessential question that I ask you to keep in your mind is what does the Bible say?
- 9:31All right, so ten heresies commonly defended by Christians.
- 9:35Now, this is by no means an exhaustive list, and I can by no means do justice to any of the ten heresies that I'm going to expose today.
- 9:47I could take each one of them and I could easily do one, two, three, four, five shows on each heresy.
- 9:56But I'm going to do my best to at least introduce them.
- 9:59And if I cause you to be angry or disturbed or upset, it's very easy the solution to that problem.
- 10:08Look for yourself into the scriptures, study the scriptures.
- 10:11If I uh if I get you angry, but I do that, get you into the Bible to study it closer, then there can be a lot of good that comes from this, right?
- 10:21So that is the spirit in which I proceed right now.
- 10:24So number one heresy is denominational.
- 10:28You have heard me perhaps say this many times before.
- 10:31Unity without compromise is based on a disdain for denominationalism.
- 10:38I hate it.
- 10:41You cannot have unity through division.
- 10:43It is absolutely impossible to do.
- 10:47We are told in scripture that a house divided is unable to survive.
- 10:55If you war among yourselves, you're going to destroy each other.
- 11:00So a house divided is not unified.
- 11:04It is evil.
- 11:06And is that my opinion?
- 11:09No, it is not my opinion.
- 11:11Let me read the plain words of scripture.
- 11:15Go to 1 Corinthians, which is a book written about the problems in the church of Corinth, problem after problem after problem.
- 11:24And Paul just starts out with this church by appealing to the unity of the church.
- 11:32If I read in 1 Corinthians chapter 1, verses 10 through 13, Paul says, Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree that there be no divisions among you, but that you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment.
- 11:55For I have been informed concerning you, my brethren, by Chloe's people, that there are quarrels among you.
- 12:04Now I mean this, that each one of you is saying, I am of Paul, I and I of Apollos, and I of Cephas, and I of Christ.
- 12:18Has Christ been divided?
- 12:22Paul was not crucified for you, was he?
- 12:26Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?
- 12:31So Paul is saying, look, stop being divisive, stop being denominational.
- 12:39That's exactly what he is saying right there.
- 12:42Stop dividing the body of Christ.
- 12:47Go to chapter 3, verses 1 through 7.
- 12:50And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual men, but as to men of flesh, as to infants in Christ.
- 13:00I gave you milk to drink, not solid food, for you were not yet able to receive it.
- 13:07Indeed, even now you are not yet able, for you are still fleshly.
- 13:13Paul is talking to Christians here.
- 13:15You are still fleshly, for since there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not fleshly?
- 13:22Are you not walking like mere men?
- 13:24For when one says, I am of Paul, and another, I am of Apollos, are you not mere men?
- 13:34What is Apollos?
- 13:36And what is Paul?
- 13:38Servants through whom you believed, even as the Lord gave opportunity to each one.
- 13:45I planted Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth.
- 13:51There's the point of it.
- 13:52Christ is head of the church, and only Jesus Christ is head of the church.
- 13:58Now we do the same thing today.
- 14:00Instead of saying I am of Apollos, we say, what?
- 14:00Instead of saying I am of Apollos, we say, what?
- 14:06How many people, how many Christians claim I am of Luther or of Calvin or of Arminius?
- 14:06How many people, how many Christians claim I am of Luther or of Calvin or of Arminius, or I am a full gospel Christian, or a spirit filled Christian, or an evangelical Christian, or a fundamentalist Christian, or a Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian, or a Pentecostal?
- 14:14Or I am a full gospel Christian or a spirit-filled Christian or an evangelical Christian, or a fundamentalist Christian, or a Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian, or a Pentecostal.
- 14:29Remember, they were first called Christians at Antioch, Acts 11 26.
- 14:35A Christian is a follower of Jesus Christ.
- 14:40Now why isn't that enough?
- 14:43Well, the answer is very simple, because we are divisive.
- 14:47We like to think that we all have the sharper edge on God's truth, when in fact we don't even know what the Bible really says.
- 14:58There, I'm sure I've made some people angry.
- 15:01Don't mean to do that, but I'm not going to apologize for the word of God.
- 15:05If you read John 17, the real Lord's Prayer, Jesus prayed for unity, that we would all be one, not 45,000 different denominations.
- 15:19That is the work of Satan, and yet many Christians defend it.
- 15:24If you think that having all these different beliefs glorifies our Lord, please think again.
- 15:33Paul the Apostle said, Therefore, if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the spirit, if any affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.
- 16:04This is in the book of Philippians, chapter two.
- 16:07And then he says, have this attitude in yourselves, which was also in Christ Jesus.
- 16:15Wow.
- 16:16Powerful, powerful words.
- 16:19Denominationalism is the work of Satan.
- 16:23It is the work of dividers, whom God will judge for dividing his body.
- 16:29And God takes that very, very seriously.
- 16:32And so we ought to do the same thing.
- 16:37Heresy number two.
- 16:40And I can't do it justice today because it's just too much to support this in scripture.
- 16:46But a lot of Christians believe that miraculous gifts continued beyond the apostolic age.
- 16:53Well, this is just pure nonsense.
- 16:57There is no biblical need to authenticate new messengers of God's revelation any longer.
- 17:06Because we have the Bible, the complete scriptures, and therefore the biblical purpose of miracles is over.
- 17:13And what was the purpose of miracles?
- 17:15One thing to authenticate the messenger, bringing forth the word of God, to say this truly is from God.
- 17:32We are now complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
- 17:392 Timothy chapter 3, verse 17.
- 17:42The repeated Bible pattern was this.
- 17:46Miracle, see the miracle, believe the miracle, believe the word, believe the messenger, because it was just authenticated by a miracle.
- 17:57You see, you can't just define a miracle.
- 17:59You have to understand the purpose of every miracle.
- 18:02And the purpose of every miracle performed in the Bible, Old Testament and New was simply to validate the message spoken by the messenger.
- 18:14If we reject the already established evidence authenticating the messianic life and death of Christ, then no modern day miracle will serve any further purpose.
- 18:29And therefore we don't see miracles anymore.
- 18:32Take for example in Luke chapter 16, Lazarus and the rich man, where the rich man petitions Abraham, who who is has Lazarus in his bosom, comforting him.
- 18:46And the rich man says, Hey, please, Abraham, let me go and tell my brothers, let me warn them about the torment I'm in now.
- 18:54And Abraham responded, he said, if they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded through one, though one rise from the dead.
- 19:06In other words, there's no need for further authentication of what God's word says.
- 19:13If the authority of God's word has been established, and it has, we have the scriptures, then nothing more is needed.
- 19:24And to ask for a miraculous sign in modern days is superfluous and contrary to God's will.
- 19:34This is why the Apostle Paul left behind the sickly and unhealed Trophimus in Miletus.
- 19:44We read about that 2 Timothy chapter 4.
- 19:47And it's why Epaphroditus, a beloved friend of Paul, who was, quote, sick almost unto the point of death, Philippians 2 27, he was left sick.
- 20:01Paul could not heal two good friends.
- 20:06Why no healing?
- 20:08Because they were already Christians.
- 20:10There was no need for authentication of the word that Paul was speaking.
- 20:15Likewise with Timothy, whom Paul affectionately called a true son in the faith.
- 20:231 Timothy 1 2.
- 20:26He did not receive any miraculous healing by Paul, who had the power to even raise the dead, but he couldn't heal his beloved true son in the faith, Timothy.
- 20:42Paul, what did Paul say?
- 20:45Well, instead of healing him, which he could not do, he advised Timothy to quote, use a little wine for your stomach's sake and your frequent infirmities.
- 20:55That's in 1 Timothy chapter 5.
- 20:58Paul himself entreated the Lord to have his own unspecified thorn in the flesh, some ailment, something that was gnawing at Paul physically.
- 21:00Intreated the Lord to have his own unspecified thorn in the flesh, some ailment, something that was gnawing at Paul physically.
- 21:11He asked God to take it from him.
- 21:11He asked God to take it from him, remove it from me, Lord.
- 21:14Remove it from me, Lord.
- 21:15But God said no, no miracle, no healing.
- 21:15But God said no, no miracle, no healing.
- 21:21But sometimes we are blessed through physical affliction.
- 21:21But sometimes we are blessed through physical affliction.
- 21:28Now that's a hard saying.
- 21:28Now that's a hard saying.
- 21:30That's hard to accept, but we are told that multiple times throughout scripture.
- 21:37Actually called his ailment a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I exalt I be exalted above measure.
- 21:48Wow.
- 21:49Second Corinthians chapter 12, verse 7.
- 21:52And Jesus affirmed Paul's denied request, telling him, My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness.
- 22:03So sorry, Paul.
- 22:05No need for a miracle, no need for healing.
- 22:10Hard saying, isn't it?
- 22:12It's very humbling.
- 22:16Okay, another heresy.
- 22:18We see a lot of false teaching, and that's what a heresy is, something that that contradicts scripture.
- 22:25The creation narrative.
- 22:27I get really frustrated with a lot of good Christian people because they simply refuse to accept Genesis chapter one and two.
- 22:38The creation narrative was written in a prose narrative in ancient Hebrew.
- 22:45In other words, it was written to tell, narrate a story of facts as the facts or events unfolded.
- 22:54But what we see with a lot of Christians is an evolutionary variant because you know we are scientific minded.
- 23:01We have so much more enlightenment, so much more intelligence.
- 23:06We know better.
- 23:08And so few Christians actually believe in a six-day creation.
- 23:13And I say few.
- 23:14I've I've looked up online, maybe about 50% of Christians do not believe in a six-day creation.
- 23:22And I suspect it might be less than that, despite the clear teaching of Genesis chapter one, which says there, as each at the end of each creation day, and there was evening and there was morning, one day, a second day, a third day, and so forth, and then finally the sixth day.
- 23:45Well, what do Christians say?
- 23:48Well, they say, oh no, no, no, that that couldn't possibly have been what they meant because you know, maybe a day was like a thousand years or million years to God.
- 24:04Well, where do you get that from?
- 24:07You see, if you apply the simple rules of Bible interpretation, and the applicable rules here are number one, context, as I said, this is a narrative that is told sequentially, the first day, second day, third day, and there was morning and there was evening, or evening and morning, a second day, a third day, the sixth day.
- 24:27Uh so context is important.
- 24:30But people will quote, you know, trying to make uh because we we read, for example, in Psalms chapter 90, verse 4, for a thousand years in your sight are like yesterday when it is passed.
- 24:43Well, that has nothing to do with the context of Genesis at all.
- 24:48Take the law of harmony, take the law of literal versus figurative.
- 24:53Is this figurative speech?
- 24:55No.
- 24:55This is not Jewish apocryphal literature, it is to be meant to be read literally.
- 25:02And as you get into the applicable rules of usage and parsimony, or uh you might know it as Acham's razor, the simplest explanation is usually the correct one.
- 25:14Well, Genesis 1 has no symbolic language, no figures of speech, no allegory, or any other compelling reason to redefine the boundaries of a 24-hour day.
- 25:29In fact, we read elsewhere, like in Exodus chapter 20, verses 9 and 11, where we are told to honor the Sabbath, because we're told to work six days out of the week and rest on the seventh, because why?
- 25:45Because the Lord created the heavens and the earth in six days.
- 25:50So imitate him.
- 25:51There is no suggestion that is that there's been any change in a 24-hour period.
- 25:56So we get a knock off being silly and just read the Bible for what it says.
- 26:03Do we see it anywhere else in scripture?
- 26:06No.
- 26:06A day is a day, is a day is a day.
- 26:10So beware of isegesis or reading into something in scripture, your own opinions or beliefs, or crazy thinking.
- 26:21Another heresy pertains to the personhood of Jesus Christ.
- 26:26Now, I could offend a lot of people here because the Mormons do not believe in the biblical Jesus Christ.
- 26:33And I can't get into that today.
- 26:34It's just too much to support that.
- 26:36But when you read about Jesus Christ being God Himself, present with the Father, present with the Holy Spirit before the world was created.
- 26:45Well, there it is.
- 26:46And we see that in John chapter 1 and verse 14.
- 26:50In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God.
- 26:58Literally, God was the word.
- 27:00And the word became flesh and dwelt among us.
- 27:04There it is.
- 27:05And we read for this reason also, God highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus, every knee will bow of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.
- 27:28Philippians 2, verses 9 and 10.
- 27:31So it's extremely important that we simply read the scriptures for what they say, and we won't be led astray.
- 27:42Jesus is God, fully God, fully man.
- 27:46He took on human flesh for the very purpose of saving us for our sins, being the perfect sacrifice, period.
- 27:56Another heresy.
- 27:57And you've heard me talk about this in the past.
- 28:00The Jews will be saved apart from Christ's saving work.
- 28:00The Jews will be saved apart from Christ's saving work.
- 28:05That is blasphemy.
- 28:05That is blasphemy.
- 28:07That is an absolute false teaching that was incorporated into a fake Christianity into an ugly ism called dispensationalism.
- 28:07That is an absolute false teaching that was incorporated into a fake Christianity into an ugly ism called dispensationalism.
- 28:22And it is a lie.
- 28:22And it is a lie.
- 28:25And this lie has afflicted a lot of Christians.
- 28:25And this lie has afflicted a lot of Christians.
- 28:30And it made a lot of people a ton of money.
- 28:34Because it was a new twist, but a distortion of scripture.
- 28:38It has afflicted many politicians like Ted Cruz, Mike Huckabee, and a lot of media influencers who spread this heresy to this day.
- 28:49Now they may be very good people.
- 28:51I'm not saying that they're not, but I will say this.
- 28:55They are babes in the faith.
- 28:56They are spiritual infants who have been misled and who now mislead others.
- 29:03And look at the division it causes, even outside of the church.
- 29:07It affects our politics.
- 29:09Do you think that this has an influence our nation on our nation?
- 29:13Absolutely, it does.
- 29:17But what is important?
- 29:21Well, what's important to me is rightly dividing the word of God.
- 29:27We have so many warnings, harsh warnings in scripture about distorting, adding to, taking away from what the Bible says in plain English.
- 29:43Read John chapter 8, verse 24.
- 29:47Read Colossians chapter 3, verse 11.
- 29:51Read Ephesians 214.
- 29:55If you think that the Jews are going to be saved by some other way than through the saving blood of Jesus Christ, that is heretical teaching.
- 30:10Well, I'm going to take a short pause and I'll return with the next five heresies.

- 34:39Well, today I have been challenging you with 10 heresies that are commonly defended by Christians, and they should not be.
- 34:50Now, if you disagree with me, speak up, leave me a comment, um, leave your contact information.
- 34:57I may get in touch with you and invite you on this radio show to discuss your viewpoint, but be ready to do it with an open Bible and putting aside all opinions as opposed to letting the Bible speak for itself, because that is where it at it is at.
- 35:00Radio show to discuss your viewpoint, but be ready to do it with an open Bible and putting aside all opinions as opposed to letting the Bible speak for itself, because that is where it is at.
- 35:16That's where authentic Christianity really comes from.
- 35:16That's where authentic Christianity really comes from.
- 35:20So I've listed five already five heresies, starting with number one denominationalism, which is a huge one with me.
- 35:20So I've listed five already, five heresies, starting with number one, denominationalism, which is a huge one with me, but also the idea that miraculous gifts continue beyond the epistolic age.
- 35:35We don't see them anymore.
- 35:36They don't happen.
- 35:37We see a lot of hyperbole, a lot of things that we want to call miracles, but when you analyze them, they are not miraculous events, which are a divine intervention.
- 35:48Doesn't mean God does not answer prayer.
- 35:56All I'm saying is, according to the scripture, that time is over.
- 36:02Also the creation narrative.
- 36:04A lot of Christians think that this world was formed, created by God through an evolutionary process that took millions and millions of years.
- 36:14I say that is nonsense based on the best science we have, based on historical facts and based on the authenticity of God's word and the truth of God's word.
- 36:29We must also remember who Jesus Christ is, because that determines whether or not we are saved, whether or not we are true Christians.
- 36:40And if you believe that the Jews will be saved apart from Christ's saving work, please think again, because that simply is not so.
- 36:50I challenge you to read the verses of scripture when we are told that God created us into one body through the cross, because he put enmity, uh the enmity to death, which was the law, and he says he has made both groups into one.
- 37:10That means that there is one path to salvation, just as the Bible says when Jesus said, I am the truth.
- 37:19I am the only way to the Father.
- 37:24We have to believe what the word says.
- 37:28Well, heresy number six is that we are justified by faith alone, or by faith only.
- 37:34Now that raises a lot of dander among Christians when they hear that.
- 37:40But I challenge you, look up the words faith alone in the Bible, or by faith alone, or by faith only, your version may say.
- 37:50And you will see it one time in the book of James, chapter two, verse 24.
- 37:55You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith alone.
- 38:05Plain English, right there, plain corn coin, I should say in the Greek.
- 38:11Now, this subtle deception of saying we're justified by faith alone actually encourages idle and silent Christians in a world of sinners.
- 38:23It is the last thing we need.
- 38:24Now, this statement makes Christians angry because they think that when somebody like me points this out, they think I'm promoting a works salvation.
- 38:34No, I am not.
- 38:36We cannot be good enough to earn our own way to heaven.
- 38:41We all need a savior because nobody is good enough to earn their own ticket to heaven.
- 38:46Okay, so I want to make that very, very clear.
- 38:49Everyone needs the Savior, Jesus Christ, every one of us.
- 38:54But saving faith is never present apart from good works, and that is throughout the scriptures.
- 39:01We see that.
- 39:02That's what James, who was Jesus' half-brother, is saying here.
- 39:06And Paul said the same thing in his letter to the Ephesians.
- 39:11Jesus also said, Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven, Matthew 5, 16, which leads me to heresy number seven.
- 39:26And that is that baptism, repentance, and good works are non-essentials in Christian conversion.
- 39:37Now, if you simply read the words of scripture, this is laughable.
- 39:42It's just, it's not there in a sad way, okay?
- 39:46Because remember the Great Commission, Matthew 28, verse 19 and 20.
- 39:52The words that you read there are pretty straightforward.
- 39:56If you read them, uh the Great Commission says, Go, go, therefore, and make disciples by doing two things, baptizing them and teaching them all things that I commanded you, Jesus said.
- 40:12Now, John the Baptizer prepared the way for Jesus in the church age by baptizing with the baptism of repentance, but Jesus Himself was baptized to set a precedent to set a precedent for us, because he would have us baptized at conversion, at which time we would receive the indwelling gift of the helper, the Holy Spirit.
- 40:39Isn't that what the Bible says?
- 40:42I mean, Peter preaches the first Christian sermon in the book of Acts.
- 40:48And when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and they said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, brethren, what shall we do?
- 40:58And Peter said to them, repent, and let each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
- 41:15What does that say?
- 41:16That's in Acts chapter 2, verse 37.
- 41:19So he shares the gospel to those gathered on that momentous day of Pentecost, the first day of the church age, the beginning of the last days, the end times, and he exhorted them at that time.
- 41:32He said, Be saved from this perverse generation.
- 41:35And so then those who had received his word were baptized, which means immersed, dunked, submerged underwater.
- 41:44And there were added that day about 3,000 souls.
- 41:48And so we read in other conversions in Acts.
- 41:51They heard, they believed, they repented, they confessed Christ as Lord, and they were baptized.
- 41:58Who in the world would say that baptism is not a part of the conversion process, not essential.
- 42:00Baptism is not a part of the conversion process, not essential.
- 42:04It's just a, you know, just an idea.
- 42:04It's just a, you know, just an idea.
- 42:06Jesus didn't say that.
- 42:06Jesus didn't say that.
- 42:09And the apostles didn't teach that.
- 42:09And the apostles didn't teach that.
- 42:11They obeyed the Great Commission and did things God's way.
- 42:11They obeyed the Great Commission and did things God's way.
- 42:16This is called obedient faith.
- 42:16This is called obedient faith.
- 42:19And that's real important for all of us.
- 42:19And that's real important for all of us.
- 42:22And we are witnesses of these things.
- 42:22And we are witnesses of these things, and so was the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.
- 42:25And so is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey him.
- 42:30Acts chapter 5, verse 32.
- 42:32Nowhere will you find the words at conversion.
- 42:35Ask Jesus into your heart or pray the sinner's prayer.
- 42:40It's just not there.
- 42:43We need the full picture for salvation.
- 42:46We need to put it all together.
- 42:47Number eight, another heresy.
- 42:50The Bible is not in errant.
- 42:52So goes the arguments.
- 42:54They say, well, you know, it was written by humans, human writers, right?
- 42:58Has to be errors, scribal errors, the ones that copied the original autographs.
- 43:04There are no original autographs.
- 43:06We don't have any of them, but we do have a ton of copies.
- 43:10And they are the accuracy is incredible beyond imagination.
- 43:15Oh, but what about the ridiculous claims?
- 43:17How silly it is that you know the book of Job speaks about dragons, you know, that that figure from mythology.
- 43:26And what about dinosaurs?
- 43:28Because it mentions dinosaurs too, behemoth, right?
- 43:31Um, you know, and a worldwide flood.
- 43:35Oh, come on.
- 43:36Well, the effective evangelist knows that nothing is more important than proving the authority of scripture.
- 43:48Okay.
- 43:49Dragons existed.
- 43:51Easy to explain that scientifically or otherwise.
- 43:55Dinosaurs, the same thing.
- 43:58They walked the earth when God created the heavens and the earth.
- 44:03They didn't evolve over millions of years.
- 44:06They died off, likely at the time of the flood.
- 44:09That's what all of the evidence shows.
- 44:14But let me say this: you cannot deny the authority of scripture and the claims of scripture and be a Christian.
- 44:23You can't claim to be a Christian if you deny what the scripture does not deny.
- 44:31And that means you cannot hold to other than a biblical world view and be a real Christian.
- 44:39Kind of scary, isn't it?
- 44:41But it's true.
- 44:42It's what the Bible teaches.
- 44:44Heresy number nine, religions other than Christianity can save the soul.
- 44:50Which means leading to eternal life in heaven with God.
- 44:54John 17, verse 3.
- 44:56This is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.
- 45:05And in Acts 4, 12, and there is salvation and no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.
- 45:16And get right down to it.
- 45:18First John chapter 2, verses 22 and 23.
- 45:22Who is a liar?
- 45:24But he who denies that Jesus is the Christ.
- 45:35Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either.
- 45:40To claim that salvation comes from any other religion, including Judaism, is heresy.
- 45:48Look what follows.
- 45:52These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you, John said.
- 46:01And heresy number 10 is that false teachers are not popular or prosperous.
- 46:07The prosperity gospel says, hey, if you want to be prosperous, uh you got to be a good Christian, and then God will make you rich.
- 46:17Wow.
- 46:18False teachers.
- 46:20False teachers.
- 46:22Read first John chapter 4, verses 1 through 3.
- 46:26Read 2 Peter chapter 2, verses 1 through 3.
- 46:31The warnings about false teachers.
- 46:33Some false teachers are very obvious, some are very subtle.
- 46:38Look at how popular are the prosperity gospel deceivers.
- 46:42There's a simple test.
- 46:44If you want to know that if you're if somebody's speaking to you and they are a true teacher, the simple test is, and this applies to any church.
- 46:56Who is Jesus?
- 46:57Who do they say Jesus is?
- 46:59If he is not God come in the flesh as the Savior who shed his blood on the cross and was raised on the third day for the purpose of saving us from our sins, you're listening to a false teacher or a false religion or denomination.
- 47:17And what do they say about the Bible?
- 47:19Do they have the Bible plus some other writing like the book of Mormon, like the Pearl of Great Price?
- 47:26Beware.
- 47:29Beware.
- 47:30Do they have a Bible that is totally distorted?
- 47:38Be careful.
- 47:40Be careful.
- 47:41There's a lot of cults out there that are willing to deceive you.
- 47:49And if they have a modern-day prophet bringing new revelations, well, that's just a dead giveaway.
- 47:56They're false teachers.
- 47:58We are told, we are warned, beware the leaven of the Pharisees.
- 48:03Beware of those who take the title reverend and prophet, an apostle and rabbi, father.
- 48:13Jesus told us, do not be called rabbi, do not call anyone on earth your father.
- 48:19Do not be called leaders, for one is your teacher, and you are all brothers.
- 48:26See, no clergy laity distinction whatsoever.
- 48:30For one is your father, he who is in heaven.
- 48:35For one is your leader, that is Christ.
- 48:45And one is your teacher.
- 48:47You are all brothers.
- 48:51But the greatest among you shall be your servant.
- 48:54And we don't see that in false teachers.
- 48:58Read Matthew 23, verses 8 through 11.
- 49:0023 verses 8 through 11.
- 49:02Remember that Lucifer, the light bearer or the angel of light, is a deceiver.
- 49:02Remember that Lucifer, the light bearer or the angel of light is a deceiver.
- 49:11False teachers can be very wealthy.
- 49:11False teachers can be very wealthy.
- 49:14They can be very popular.
- 49:14They can be very popular.
- 49:17They dress beautifully, they speak eloquently.
- 49:17They dress beautifully, they speak eloquently, but they are deceivers.
- 49:21But they are deceivers, do not be deceived.
- 49:24Do not be deceived.
- 49:27We are warned time and time again.
- 49:27We are warned time and time again.
- 49:30Let the Bible speak for itself.
- 49:35And stop basing your beliefs on opinions, and instead base them on what the Bible says.
- 49:48Now, I've kind of hit this pretty hard.
- 49:51I could have hit a lot more things.
- 49:53I could have gone into a whole lot more death depth on each of these heresies.
- 50:00But I want to clarify something to you.
- 50:04What I'm not saying today is that everyone who has bought into these false teachings or who has been a member of a church teaching bad doctrine, and there's a lot of them.
- 50:16There are a lot of them.
- 50:19And perhaps who spread false teaching.
- 50:27All of these followers are condemned.
- 50:29But if you read the scriptures, we are told to beware because deception is possible.
- 50:36They can lead you down the wrong road.
- 50:39How many Christians today believe that it's okay to be homosexual?
- 50:46To be a sodomite.
- 50:49How many people believe there are other paths to salvation?
- 50:54There's a lot of them.
- 50:55How many people will acknowledge that maybe the Bible contains truth, but is not the truth in errant as it claims itself to be.
- 53:00Most Christians, if called to defend their faith, would have no idea how to do it.
- 53:08A saving faith is not a blind faith.
- 53:12You have to know something about what you believe in.
- 53:16A saving faith is not an idle faith.
- 53:21We are called to action.
- 53:23We are called to do good works, to make the world a better place, because we have a living faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
- 53:34And a saving faith is not a compromising faith.
- 53:39Read the warnings to the seven churches of Asia Minor in Revelation chapters one through three.
- 53:49Whenever we willingly compromise God's word, we compromise our own life, our own family, our own society, and as leaders, we compromise our nation.
- 54:01Now, I'll gladly take a Catholic vice president like J.D.
- 54:06Vance over a Muslim.
- 54:08That's an easy choice.
- 54:10I'll take a sincere Mormon like Arizona Congressman Andy Biggs over a Hindu or a Buddhist, because America's survival depends on us being a Christian nation.
- 54:26But our Christian faith or lack of it or distorted faith affects our politics in a big way.
- 54:34And we see how that is playing out, how it affects everything else in our lives.
- 54:40Every time we surrender the biblical truth, we fail our American flag.
- 54:46The only defense against biblical heresy is a biblical worldview.
- 54:51Ask yourself this.
- 55:03What we need more than ever is for genuine Christians to speak Bible truths plainly, boldly and truthfully.
- 55:13Forget touting the popular Christian party line.
- 55:17When you know what's being taught is heresy.
- 55:21Speak up, otherwise you're just as guilty as the false teachers.
- 55:25Interpreting scripture soundly is not rocket science, but it does take integrity and courage and boldness to speak the truth.
- 55:35Yes, you will be persecuted, of course.
- 55:38Indeed, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
- 55:432 Timothy 3 12.
- 55:45But don't be afraid of a little persecution.
- 55:48Don't be afraid to suffer for the sake of Christ.
- 55:54Because that's what we have been granted to suffer for Christ's sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake.
- 56:00Not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for his sake.
- 56:04Philippians 1 29.
- 56:04Philippians 1 29.
- 56:06So please don't be silent.
- 56:06So please don't be silent.
- 56:07Please don't comply, and don't do what you're told when you know God would say otherwise.
- 56:07Please don't comply.
- 56:10And don't do what you're told when you know God would say otherwise.
- 56:14We need watchmen to blow the horn on all Bible-defined heresies.
- 56:14We need watchmen to blow the horn on all Bible defined heresies.
- 56:21So please be a watchman, and you will not be ashamed when Christ returns.
- 56:21So please be a watchman, and you will not be ashamed when Christ returns.
- 56:29That's my message today.
- 56:31Thank you for joining me on Unity Without Compromise.
- 56:35Adieu.
