- 1:05Speaker 2: I'm just excited.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Okay, can y'all give her hand clap of praise for
- 1:11Speaker 1: the excitement. Hello, I'm also excited. I'm excited.
- 1:18Speaker 2: I'm grateful. I'm grateful. I feel like I should have
- 1:20Speaker 2: woren Leo Tard today.
- 1:21Speaker 1: I mean, you know that would been more appropriate, you know,
- 1:25Speaker 1: instead of this podcast. I mean, you know, joggers are okay,
- 1:30Speaker 1: Jos Jogga's okay. You know, joggers are okay, necessarily tar
- 1:38Speaker 1: you know. But that's when I so back in the day,
- 1:41Speaker 1: I used to ballet a set up. Now, I never
- 1:44Speaker 1: I wasn't on my toes. You know I was, and
- 1:48Speaker 1: I wasn't. I'm saying I wasn't that blessed. But I
- 1:51Speaker 1: did a little ballerina, a little ballerina. I know you
- 1:54Speaker 1: did a little you know, you was the flag girling,
- 1:56Speaker 1: but you flat girling Church. You don't flag flag for Jesus.
- 1:59Speaker 1: I didn't last for the football team.
- 2:01Speaker 2: So you never had professional, professional help with dance.
- 2:04Speaker 1: See, this is why you can't dance now, this is
- 2:07Speaker 1: why you need help now with with you can you
- 2:11Speaker 1: dance for Jesus really well?
- 2:13Speaker 2: But you flagged. One thing you gonna do is you're
- 2:16Speaker 2: gonna fa Okay, if you ever want to catch up
- 2:20Speaker 2: at TPC, she's gonna move from the camera and start.
- 2:23Speaker 1: If she starts waving and she goes, oh, that's in
- 2:28Speaker 1: my line.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Today's guest is in today's guests go of.
- 2:38Speaker 1: I'm so excited because I'm very We was having off
- 2:42Speaker 1: camera conversations and things like this, and so one of
- 2:45Speaker 1: the things that was said was.
- 2:49Speaker 2: That this is a business.
- 2:50Speaker 1: She's a business woman, and I think sometimes we don't
- 2:54Speaker 1: see ourselves in the spaces that we're in.
- 2:56Speaker 2: But she's an amazing business woman.
- 2:58Speaker 1: She's a mother, she's a sangle, she's on our worship
- 3:01Speaker 1: team and our church. She has a dance studio. She's
- 3:05Speaker 1: a teacher, so she'd be teaching the children's and all
- 3:08Speaker 1: the things. And also she's a mouthpiece for the Lord. Yes, Lord,
- 3:13Speaker 1: and so we're about to get into this conversation today.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Welcome. I don't know how. Let me say how. I'm
- 3:18Speaker 2: gonna do this. I got most I got so why
- 3:23Speaker 2: kirie a clause?
- 3:32Speaker 4: That was fun?
- 3:33Speaker 2: I could get my buttons together. I wouldn't prepare, you know,
- 3:35Speaker 2: it's all the things you always prepared.
- 3:37Speaker 1: You're always prepared. Let I let it introduce you. Because
- 3:39Speaker 1: she's overly excited for y'all. Y'all TPC folks love each other.
- 3:43Speaker 2: And family and destiny. You know, because I'm not a member.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Why do I know that? Because it's supposed to be
- 3:58Speaker 2: you don't remember.
- 3:59Speaker 5: That's good, Jo, listen, I love it. I'm so happy
- 4:05Speaker 5: to have you here. I'm happy to be here.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Listen, my shadow shud when I seen you on that stage,
- 4:13Speaker 1: So shout out to Wakiria Dance and Performance. Okay, studio,
- 4:20Speaker 1: what what what network? Whatever you want to call it,
- 4:23Speaker 1: because it's growing. Okay, we done growed it. We done
- 4:26Speaker 1: growed it.
- 4:27Speaker 2: I saw you.
- 4:27Speaker 1: I saw you on that stage. I saw you on
- 4:29Speaker 1: the stage. You know my nieces dance with you.
- 4:32Speaker 2: They love it. By the way, be mad when they came.
- 4:35Speaker 2: You know, Katie was mad. Katie was upset. Yeah, but
- 4:41Speaker 2: she couldn't. She couldn't do it. She couldn't do it.
- 4:44Speaker 2: But that that I think that safe space that.
- 4:47Speaker 1: You're creating for young young women, young ladies, it's so powerful.
- 4:51Speaker 1: But you said something on this stage in my shundle shondle,
- 4:54Speaker 1: So I think it's time, and I think you know
- 4:56Speaker 1: where I'm gonna go. I'm just gonna want to show
- 4:58Speaker 1: straight there. You said that you would think about stopping. Absolutely,
- 5:01Speaker 1: you said you were gonna quit, and they had got frustrated.
- 5:04Speaker 2: I need you to take me there of why like
- 5:06Speaker 2: you've been growing this this, this this brand, this safe space.
- 5:11Speaker 1: I'm gonna keep calling the safe space because I need
- 5:13Speaker 1: you to understand that's what it is.
- 5:15Speaker 2: You've been growing this safe space for about.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Four or five years now, four years, okay, so what
- 5:20Speaker 1: made you come up with the idea that you thought
- 5:21Speaker 1: you was gonna quit?
- 5:24Speaker 5: Like I mentioned, it was just hard. It was really
- 5:26Speaker 5: really hard. What started out to be fun and easy
- 5:31Speaker 5: to do. I think it outgrew me. And when that
- 5:36Speaker 5: became that I was losing. I didn't have enough help
- 5:40Speaker 5: to keep it going. So I felt like I was
- 5:43Speaker 5: being pulled from so many different ways, because, like y'all mentioned,
- 5:47Speaker 5: I'm a mom of two very active kids, and so
- 5:51Speaker 5: trying to be present for my kids, trying to be
- 5:53Speaker 5: present for my current job as an educator for those kids,
- 5:57Speaker 5: and then trying to still run that business. It just
- 5:59Speaker 5: became really hard. And then I know a lot of
- 6:02Speaker 5: people were falling out when the government shut down. I
- 6:04Speaker 5: had a lot of parents that were working for the government,
- 6:07Speaker 5: so they're like, hey, I got to pull them out.
- 6:09Speaker 5: So those funds and that income that was a part
- 6:12Speaker 5: of that revenue was I was losing that and it
- 6:14Speaker 5: was just like I couldn't keep putting my personal finances
- 6:20Speaker 5: into the business, and so I was just like, okay, God,
- 6:23Speaker 5: this was like right around Christmas, I said I that's
- 6:26Speaker 5: not it. And I remember reaching out to my mentor,
- 6:30Speaker 5: doctor Paulllli y'all know doctor PAULI was, and I was
- 6:33Speaker 5: just like, hey, I think after this year, I'm gonna
- 6:34Speaker 5: go ahead and close, you know. And she gave me,
- 6:37Speaker 5: you know, things to read on. She told me like, hey,
- 6:39Speaker 5: really make sure sure that you hear from God. And
- 6:41Speaker 5: it's not a flesh decision, you know what I mean,
- 6:44Speaker 5: only because of your now.
- 6:46Speaker 4: And so I took that and I remember saying, like, God.
- 6:50Speaker 5: If this is not I noticed what you wanted me
- 6:52Speaker 5: to do, because this is not what I was planning
- 6:54Speaker 5: to do.
- 6:54Speaker 4: Like owning a dance studio was not my plan.
- 6:58Speaker 5: I just wanted to teach, like train go to somebody
- 7:00Speaker 5: house and they then you know, I ain't worgular one too.
- 7:04Speaker 5: I didn't know that it would go to this. I
- 7:06Speaker 5: was actually renting in a space like I wouldn't even rent.
- 7:09Speaker 5: I was just going to the Salvation Army teaching dance.
- 7:13Speaker 1: What. Yeah.
- 7:13Speaker 5: I was just going up there and then some kids
- 7:15Speaker 5: would come and next thing I knew, everything was just
- 7:17Speaker 5: falling into place. So I knew it was God. So
- 7:20Speaker 5: I'm just like, Okay, God, I know this is a
- 7:22Speaker 5: you thing. I know, this is you you, this is
- 7:24Speaker 5: your this was your thing. So if this is what
- 7:28Speaker 5: you want me to do, I need you to show
- 7:30Speaker 5: me because I'm like losing everything, like confidence, hope, like
- 7:35Speaker 5: faith out the window.
- 7:36Speaker 4: What am I? What am I supposed to do?
- 7:38Speaker 5: And I remember, not even two weeks later, somebody reached
- 7:42Speaker 5: out our old business coach and asks me to apply
- 7:44Speaker 5: for something. I applied for and got the resources I
- 7:47Speaker 5: need to continue oh throughout the year. And so I
- 7:50Speaker 5: reached out to the landlord and he was working things
- 7:53Speaker 5: out and just everything was just working out, and I said, Okay,
- 7:56Speaker 5: we're gonna go them through. We're gonna finish out the
- 7:58Speaker 5: year because I was gonna be done at decent. Yeah,
- 8:00Speaker 5: it was just really really hard. But even when I
- 8:03Speaker 5: reached out to my team, My coaches are amazing. I
- 8:05Speaker 5: reached out to them and I told them and they
- 8:08Speaker 5: immediately went into like, Okay, we can do this, and
- 8:11Speaker 5: then we can start doing this, and we're gonna do this,
- 8:13Speaker 5: and we need you out the floor.
- 8:14Speaker 4: You don't need to teach, We're gonna teach.
- 8:16Speaker 5: They began to take over and start playing and like
- 8:19Speaker 5: managing the studio.
- 8:20Speaker 4: Will I had to do was handle the brand.
- 8:23Speaker 2: So that part.
- 8:25Speaker 1: What did you learn in that moment when you released
- 8:28Speaker 1: your concern to your team?
- 8:31Speaker 4: One, I realized that they were for me. I realized
- 8:35Speaker 4: that they.
- 8:35Speaker 5: Saw the vision, they believed in the vision, and they
- 8:39Speaker 5: were willing to push it. Because I've shared a lot
- 8:41Speaker 5: of times sometimes my heart is so big in it
- 8:43Speaker 5: that I don't think about the business side. And sometimes
- 8:47Speaker 5: I say just bring them on, let them dance, and
- 8:49Speaker 5: they looking at me like no, no, no, no, this
- 8:52Speaker 5: is not gonna work. But I learned that they're with
- 8:55Speaker 5: me regardless, Like they're really all in for WDP. They
- 9:00Speaker 5: trust me, And sometimes it's hard for me to see, like, hey,
- 9:04Speaker 5: they really with you, they're riding with you.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Yeah, did you not believe Like I won't say you
- 9:09Speaker 1: didn't believe that before, but like was there did you
- 9:12Speaker 1: know as much when that happened?
- 9:15Speaker 2: Did you know that they were rocking you with you?
- 9:17Speaker 1: What? Like? Did you have not necessarily a doubt about them?
- 9:20Speaker 1: But sometimes this is what come in to mind sometimes
- 9:23Speaker 1: as leaders. And it was just when we were just talking,
- 9:25Speaker 1: we were talking about my relationship with Desirae.
- 9:28Speaker 2: It was hard for me to.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Relinquish the weight of a responsibility, even though she was
- 9:37Speaker 1: she was designed for the responsibility. I felt like, the
- 9:43Speaker 1: Lord says, the Lord gave me this, I'm response before.
- 9:46Speaker 2: I gotta keep all the details.
- 9:47Speaker 1: I gotta keep everything in line, just everything in line,
- 9:51Speaker 1: and if I don't keep it together, it's gonna fail.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Am I.
- 9:57Speaker 4: No, that's definitely it. That's definitely it. And it's still hard.
- 10:00Speaker 4: But I've done.
- 10:00Speaker 5: I'm doing a whole lot better with relinquishing. I'm doing
- 10:05Speaker 5: a whole lot better. I'm still struggling, But I think
- 10:09Speaker 5: it wasn't that I did not trust them. It was
- 10:12Speaker 5: more so what you said, Like it's mine, it's my baby.
- 10:15Speaker 5: I'm supposed to take care of it. I can't just
- 10:17Speaker 5: put it in the hands and expect y'all to do
- 10:20Speaker 5: what I'm called to do. Yeah, you know what I mean,
- 10:23Speaker 5: Like this is what this is what he gave me.
- 10:25Speaker 5: So I'm supposed to take care of it. So I
- 10:28Speaker 5: shouldn't put this off if he gave it to me.
- 10:31Speaker 5: I shouldn't be like, Okay, thank you God, here I go. Yeah,
- 10:33Speaker 5: it's not how I would look at it. And so
- 10:36Speaker 5: they like, no, like what we need to do. And
- 10:38Speaker 5: I realized that they're more than just dance coaches. They're
- 10:41Speaker 5: business women. So they're handling things on the media side.
- 10:46Speaker 5: They're handling things on like just on the business side.
- 10:50Speaker 5: Like they're really helpful. To the point now I'm able
- 10:53Speaker 5: to breathe a little bit more and I can see
- 10:56Speaker 5: like we've opened up registrations, so we're not closing.
- 10:58Speaker 1: Come on period in the description, Yes.
- 11:05Speaker 4: We have opened up registration for the fall.
- 11:07Speaker 5: They came up with a plan, they came up with
- 11:09Speaker 5: the schedule, and they presented it to me, like, what
- 11:12Speaker 5: do you think about this?
- 11:13Speaker 4: And that's what I've been praying for.
- 11:14Speaker 5: It's just now my prayer has shifted from God, send
- 11:18Speaker 5: me who you have for me to now help me
- 11:22Speaker 5: to receive that.
- 11:24Speaker 4: That's good, Help me receive because I asked you for it.
- 11:27Speaker 5: Come on, and now that I'm asking you for it,
- 11:30Speaker 5: you're giving it to me and I'm pushing it off, like,
- 11:33Speaker 5: but help me to receive that.
- 11:34Speaker 2: We were literally just talking about this.
- 11:37Speaker 4: I know that's why.
- 11:39Speaker 2: We were literally talking about Right before you walked through
- 11:41Speaker 2: the door.
- 11:42Speaker 1: I was telling them, Uh, by the time they see this,
- 11:46Speaker 1: I've been already said to the safe space. But I
- 11:48Speaker 1: heard the Lord tell me about the retreat that we're
- 11:51Speaker 1: getting ready to go to. And we have two press sessions,
- 11:55Speaker 1: one thank You Spirit, one prayer session is going to
- 12:00Speaker 1: be focused on releasing. I think we're used to God.
- 12:02Speaker 1: What do I need to release? What I need to remove?
- 12:05Speaker 1: What am I holding known to X, Y and Z?
- 12:08Speaker 1: But then there's a and to that. Right, the Lord
- 12:12Speaker 1: is not just a We talked talk about the double
- 12:14Speaker 1: as sword and how the Lord believes in bringing things
- 12:17Speaker 1: in twos. Right, there's a release and a point of receiving. Right,
- 12:24Speaker 1: And so I think that we know how we've gotten
- 12:27Speaker 1: in a good habit because we we love a good deliverance,
- 12:30Speaker 1: you know, you know.
- 12:31Speaker 2: We were phoning at the mountain.
- 12:34Speaker 1: We love a good phone at the mount We love
- 12:36Speaker 1: a good altar call.
- 12:38Speaker 2: But we don't know how to properly receive.
- 12:42Speaker 1: And so I'm glad that you're in this space to
- 12:45Speaker 1: learn how to receive so that you can be Because
- 12:49Speaker 1: I heard that you're trying to be doctor Clark. You
- 12:52Speaker 1: did you you you're trying to be doctor Clark? Who?
- 12:56Speaker 2: I just heard it, you.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Know, okay, I heard it. I heard It's the way
- 13:01Speaker 1: we live podcasts. That's the one I took that and
- 13:06Speaker 1: I said, oh, so trying to be doctor Claukee is that?
- 13:08Speaker 2: Is that a goal?
- 13:09Speaker 5: He definitely said that, Oh okay, I don't know. You know,
- 13:13Speaker 5: I don't know. I really don't know. I'm not against it, okay,
- 13:16Speaker 5: but I really don't know.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Okay, Well, we're gonna y'all pray for the woman I got.
- 13:22Speaker 2: But I'm curious. Let's get let's get to know. Why curious?
- 13:25Speaker 1: So I know that you've been you've been in dance
- 13:27Speaker 1: for a long time. Yes, you've been in dance for
- 13:30Speaker 1: a long How old were you when you start dancing?
- 13:31Speaker 5: So here's the here's the trick, or not the trick.
- 13:34Speaker 5: But here's the thing about this. I've never taken dance classes.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 13:39Speaker 5: I just always love to dance, and I will watch
- 13:43Speaker 5: anything and pick it up. And so I'm not gonna
- 13:46Speaker 5: say I hate. At first, I used to say I
- 13:50Speaker 5: was never afforded the opportunity to take dance classes.
- 13:53Speaker 4: And one time I see that, my mom.
- 13:54Speaker 5: Say, yes, you were, you just didn't act, and I
- 13:56Speaker 5: was just like, okay, I don't okay, I just never again.
- 14:00Speaker 5: And I'm very cognizant, sometimes too cognizant of things. Around me,
- 14:06Speaker 5: and I try to make the assumptions that I can't
- 14:09Speaker 5: do it.
- 14:09Speaker 4: Yeah, you see what I'm saying.
- 14:11Speaker 5: So if I see that my mom and my dad
- 14:13Speaker 5: are doing what they can for this, then I'm not
- 14:17Speaker 5: gonna ask you for something that I don't necessarily need.
- 14:20Speaker 5: So even though I've always wanted to dance, I just
- 14:22Speaker 5: will watching Living Color or some on TV and I
- 14:25Speaker 5: just eight min it. And so when I got to
- 14:29Speaker 5: middle school, I remember being in the fifth grade and
- 14:31Speaker 5: I was like, I'm a dancing middle school because that's
- 14:33Speaker 5: when they have the dance girls, you know, And.
- 14:35Speaker 4: I was telling them I made the dance team and
- 14:36Speaker 4: I ain't try out for no about to dance team. Baby,
- 14:38Speaker 4: I didn't try to. I was just lying.
- 14:40Speaker 2: But now what I know Now I was speaking.
- 14:46Speaker 4: Because I you know.
- 14:47Speaker 5: But I ended up being on a dance team at
- 14:49Speaker 5: the middle school. And then it was crazy because I
- 14:52Speaker 5: got on there. I didn't dance in sixth grade, and
- 14:54Speaker 5: when I got on the dance team in the seventh grade,
- 14:56Speaker 5: I end up making captain.
- 14:58Speaker 4: And I remember so many.
- 14:59Speaker 5: People were like, dance before, how she come in there?
- 15:01Speaker 5: D And from there, like every time I was on
- 15:04Speaker 5: anybody's dance team. I had a leadership position, and I
- 15:08Speaker 5: only danced in school with the bands. I danced in
- 15:10Speaker 5: middle school, I danced in high school, and then I
- 15:12Speaker 5: got a scholarship and I danced at Miles. And so
- 15:16Speaker 5: while I was at Miles, I started giving back into
- 15:18Speaker 5: middle and high schools. So I started teaching there, like
- 15:22Speaker 5: just teaching dance randomly, and that's really how they started.
- 15:25Speaker 5: And so I stopped after I had my son, when
- 15:27Speaker 5: I got married. But then I don't know it just
- 15:30Speaker 5: I picked it back up.
- 15:31Speaker 4: I missed it.
- 15:31Speaker 5: I wanted to do it again, and I started teaching it.
- 15:34Speaker 5: I started being over high school dance teams, like local
- 15:36Speaker 5: high school dance teas, And that day I put out
- 15:40Speaker 5: a canval flyer that just said I would train and
- 15:44Speaker 5: I put I remember naming it why Curious Dance and
- 15:47Speaker 5: Performing Arts.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Studio, So you had already had the name my gun, and.
- 15:51Speaker 4: I remember somebody missing it was like, hey, where are
- 15:53Speaker 4: you located?
- 15:53Speaker 5: And I was like, maybe I shouldn't have said it studio
- 15:55Speaker 5: because I don't have a studio. I'm just I just
- 15:58Speaker 5: like that name, you know, I'm just I'm gonna come
- 16:00Speaker 5: to you. I'm the studio and from there that there's history.
- 16:06Speaker 1: Okay, So so at what point, because you said a few things,
- 16:10Speaker 1: and I'm gonna touch back on it, at what point
- 16:13Speaker 1: did you realize that dance went from a hobby to
- 16:19Speaker 1: what you were called to do?
- 16:22Speaker 4: Honestly, I'm still sending it, to be honest with you. Okay,
- 16:28Speaker 4: let's talk about it. I'm still sending in it.
- 16:30Speaker 5: I'm still I'm just now all of these years have
- 16:33Speaker 5: passed and just seeing the hand that God has had
- 16:38Speaker 5: on this whole thing, I'm learning like every time he
- 16:41Speaker 5: reminds me.
- 16:43Speaker 4: Like this, this is what I want you to do.
- 16:45Speaker 5: This is a God thing because a lot of times,
- 16:48Speaker 5: you know, we do things just out of movement, just
- 16:51Speaker 5: because we used to doing it. But I think what
- 16:54Speaker 5: the revelation for me was the fire the studio that
- 16:58Speaker 5: caught fire downtown, Okay, And I was like, well, I
- 17:01Speaker 5: wasn't supposed to be doing all this anyway. You know,
- 17:03Speaker 5: maybe I'm just gonna go back to what I was doing.
- 17:07Speaker 5: And I remember my pastor saying, hey, bigger and belder,
- 17:10Speaker 5: you was too content where you are. She just kept
- 17:13Speaker 5: saying bigger and better. But I'm not seeing bigger and
- 17:16Speaker 5: belder you know what I mean. And months later I
- 17:20Speaker 5: go into this bigger space, better space, more convenient, and
- 17:25Speaker 5: it's just every time I have my one on one
- 17:27Speaker 5: conversations with God and I'm asking for a reminder, he
- 17:31Speaker 5: gives it to me.
- 17:33Speaker 4: He gives it to me every single time.
- 17:36Speaker 5: And it's crazy that you ask me there because I'm not,
- 17:38Speaker 5: like I said, I'm sending it now, but I'm not
- 17:41Speaker 5: realizing that this is my calling. Yeah, And I have
- 17:45Speaker 5: people that will tell me, like, you know this you're calling.
- 17:47Speaker 5: You know, people can tell you and you know and
- 17:49Speaker 5: tell you the things that you're doing and express their gratitude.
- 17:52Speaker 5: But sometimes these moments like this to make me sit
- 17:56Speaker 5: in and really realize, like, God, this is really what
- 17:58Speaker 5: you called me to do.
- 17:59Speaker 2: What do you think think that's keeping you disconnected from that?
- 18:04Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Who did somebody tell you? Is it self rejection? Is
- 18:11Speaker 1: it what? This is too big for me?
- 18:14Speaker 5: Like?
- 18:15Speaker 1: What mindset are you in when you think about what
- 18:17Speaker 1: do you think.
- 18:18Speaker 2: If this is not your collin? Let's just that's right.
- 18:19Speaker 1: Let me let me ask you a question, because I
- 18:22Speaker 1: want to see see what we on the same.
- 18:25Speaker 2: If this not her calling, what is her calling?
- 18:32Speaker 4: You know?
- 18:33Speaker 1: I don't know, you know, I think sometimes oh sorry, yeah,
- 18:35Speaker 1: say because you about to get for scared.
- 18:36Speaker 2: I know my bad. Here, I am here, I am okay.
- 18:38Speaker 2: I think sometimes when you are.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Multifaceted, m that's good, right, when when you when you're
- 18:46Speaker 1: great at doing multiple things, and I gonna speak for
- 18:48Speaker 1: my for myself, right because sometimes I also ponder that question,
- 18:53Speaker 1: like what is actually my purpose my calling? Like what
- 18:55Speaker 1: did he actually call me to do? Because I could
- 18:58Speaker 1: do a lot of things, like I could I watch.
- 19:00Speaker 1: The only thing that I've tried that frustrated dickens out
- 19:03Speaker 1: of me because I couldn't get it was crocheting, like
- 19:05Speaker 1: like you know, like with yarn, like when I tried,
- 19:07Speaker 1: I couldn't get it. But everything else like I've tried
- 19:09Speaker 1: it and I can get it right. So I think
- 19:13Speaker 1: as multifaceted people sometimes we struggle with that because we
- 19:16Speaker 1: can do multiple things and we can do them well
- 19:19Speaker 1: right and so but the truth of the matter is
- 19:21Speaker 1: all of those things are literally tools for the thing.
- 19:26Speaker 1: It's just understanding and what that thing is, you know
- 19:28Speaker 1: what I'm saying, And so I think that could be
- 19:31Speaker 1: some of the battle is sometimes we expect the call
- 19:36Speaker 1: or the assignment or the purpose to look a certain way,
- 19:41Speaker 1: you know, and when it doesn't look a certain way,
- 19:44Speaker 1: we dismiss it as that's not it right.
- 19:46Speaker 2: That's just the.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Thing that I'm good at doing, right, you know, if
- 19:51Speaker 1: if I can sum it up for myself, he told
- 19:54Speaker 1: me to help the helper, as simple as that is,
- 19:56Speaker 1: help the helper. What does that look like. Well, it
- 19:58Speaker 1: could be, hey, let me help produce a podcast. Right
- 20:02Speaker 1: for somebody else, it may be, hey, I got all
- 20:05Speaker 1: these thoughts and ideas the Lord has given me.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Oh well, let me give you some systems to put
- 20:08Speaker 2: that in place.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Right for somebody else, it may be a woman who
- 20:12Speaker 1: just needs her hair done. And in that, in that moment,
- 20:15Speaker 1: I'm able to speak what the Lord says over her,
- 20:17Speaker 1: I'm able to pray over her.
- 20:19Speaker 2: That's helping the help her, you know.
- 20:20Speaker 1: And so I had to sit in that like I
- 20:23Speaker 1: love doing all the things that I love to do, right,
- 20:25Speaker 1: But at the underlying of that, it's literally to show
- 20:28Speaker 1: the heart of the Lord in the way that He's
- 20:30Speaker 1: given me to do it. And so if you think
- 20:33Speaker 1: about you're in education, well who are you educating.
- 20:37Speaker 2: The dance studio? Who is who is the dance studio.
- 20:40Speaker 1: For so, I believe what he's giving you is is
- 20:43Speaker 1: a heart to help cultivate.
- 20:45Speaker 2: The younger generations absolutely in.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Different ways and and and he's given you a certain
- 20:49Speaker 1: way to do that. And when you really begin to
- 20:52Speaker 1: lean in and be okay with how he's giving you
- 20:55Speaker 1: to do it, like it's gonna be like booth. Yeah,
- 20:59Speaker 1: she just says thing that had me thinking, like if
- 21:03Speaker 1: we ask asked the question, ask yourself, what do you
- 21:05Speaker 1: think dance is?
- 21:07Speaker 4: Right?
- 21:09Speaker 2: Answer that? What is dance to you? And then I'm
- 21:12Speaker 2: gonna tell you what I heard.
- 21:13Speaker 5: Okay, So honestly, to me, I'm believe it or not.
- 21:17Speaker 5: I am very bashful. I'm super silly, but I'm so bashful. Right,
- 21:21Speaker 5: But dance, to me, I'm able to express creatively, you
- 21:26Speaker 5: know what I mean, how I feel through movement. Sometimes
- 21:29Speaker 5: I don't have to say anything because it's in my body.
- 21:31Speaker 5: It's in the movement. And so that's what dance is
- 21:34Speaker 5: to me. It's just expressing I can however I'm feeling.
- 21:39Speaker 5: It don't matter the song, you know, it just depends
- 21:42Speaker 5: on how I'm feeling.
- 21:42Speaker 4: I'm able to express that.
- 21:44Speaker 5: And so to go back to desiree me cultivating that
- 21:50Speaker 5: or bringing that to the younger generations. A lot of
- 21:53Speaker 5: them are like me. A lot of them don't may
- 21:56Speaker 5: not know how to verbalize certain things, but I can
- 22:00Speaker 5: express it through my movement, you know what I mean?
- 22:04Speaker 5: And so that that is really who I.
- 22:06Speaker 4: Love being around.
- 22:07Speaker 5: All dancers, but those are my favorite. That's who I target.
- 22:11Speaker 4: Even in education.
- 22:12Speaker 5: I'm not even just gonna say dancers, but even in
- 22:14Speaker 5: education because I teach science, but I notice that I
- 22:19Speaker 5: can get through hands on, through movement, whatever we're doing.
- 22:24Speaker 4: In their classroom.
- 22:25Speaker 5: I can tell them all day and I say, all right, y'all,
- 22:27Speaker 5: le's get up, let's do this, and then we do it,
- 22:29Speaker 5: and it's like, okay, so, which I just got. Now
- 22:31Speaker 5: you're able to articulate what's going on, you know what
- 22:33Speaker 5: I mean? And I can help that kid that can't
- 22:36Speaker 5: necessarily express verbally but they can express it through their movement.
- 22:42Speaker 2: That you hit it spot on whatever.
- 22:45Speaker 1: Like literally, I heard the Lord say, dance is the
- 22:49Speaker 1: body's language, and you're teaching body language to people that
- 22:58Speaker 1: don't know how to articulate with their mouth.
- 23:01Speaker 2: Because you were.
- 23:01Speaker 1: Muzzled earlier, you said you stopped dancing you said you
- 23:11Speaker 1: stopped dancing after you had your son.
- 23:14Speaker 5: Take me there, who Okay, Well it right, Okay, I did.
- 23:24Speaker 4: I stopped dancing.
- 23:25Speaker 5: I was married, okay, and we had a son, of course,
- 23:31Speaker 5: And it was always told to me, and not just
- 23:34Speaker 5: from the marriage, but just in my family. I came
- 23:37Speaker 5: from a really big family that was very their way
- 23:41Speaker 5: is their way, and that's the right way. And so
- 23:44Speaker 5: by me having a son, I should not be dancing
- 23:47Speaker 5: the way that I should be dancing because.
- 23:50Speaker 4: They told you that that's what it was given.
- 23:53Speaker 5: It was never communicated directly to me, but it was
- 23:56Speaker 5: communicated enough for me.
- 23:57Speaker 4: To process that that's what it was.
- 24:01Speaker 5: I don't need him to he shouldn't be doing the
- 24:03Speaker 5: dances that I'm doing, or you know, I don't, you
- 24:06Speaker 5: know whatever, And so that shut me down a little bit,
- 24:10Speaker 5: and also not having a support behind it or whatever.
- 24:14Speaker 5: So growing up, y'all, I had to dim my light
- 24:19Speaker 5: a lot. So I know who I am, right, I
- 24:23Speaker 5: know who I am, I know what.
- 24:24Speaker 4: I'm capable of. I know the gift that God gave me.
- 24:27Speaker 5: But a lot of times I had to shut that
- 24:30Speaker 5: down for the sake of other people, you know, for
- 24:34Speaker 5: the people pleasing. Yeah, And so I think that me
- 24:38Speaker 5: stopping doing something that I absolutely love that brings me
- 24:42Speaker 5: complete peace. I had to stop there to please and
- 24:46Speaker 5: appeal the people that I loved or whatever.
- 24:50Speaker 2: Something was it your mom, your parents, your husband.
- 24:54Speaker 5: At the time doing when I stopped, it was my husband.
- 24:58Speaker 5: I needed to be home, or I needed to be more.
- 25:00Speaker 5: I needed to be around my kids, I needed, you know.
- 25:02Speaker 5: And there was no support when I was trying to
- 25:04Speaker 5: do it. Growing up, I was singing, I would dance,
- 25:08Speaker 5: and I remember my mom would tell me, Okay, that's
- 25:10Speaker 5: almost like that's enough, and I'm just.
- 25:12Speaker 4: Like, well, I'm just having fun. I'm just dancing, I'm
- 25:14Speaker 4: just singing.
- 25:15Speaker 5: And as I got in the as I became an adult,
- 25:17Speaker 5: I remember her saying, I just didn't like the way
- 25:19Speaker 5: people looked at you, or I just didn't like what
- 25:21Speaker 5: they said, or I just didn't wanna hear nobody saying
- 25:23Speaker 5: you were too grown or you was doing too much.
- 25:26Speaker 4: So because my light was so bright, I had to dim.
- 25:31Speaker 5: I got so used to diming for others so that
- 25:33Speaker 5: they wouldn't feel like.
- 25:35Speaker 4: My life's not that bright, you know what I mean.
- 25:38Speaker 5: And so I think a lot of that childhood plays
- 25:42Speaker 5: into my now, so I downplay a lot of things.
- 25:47Speaker 4: I've had a lot of people tell me like, y,
- 25:48Speaker 4: I don't think you know who you are? Mm, you
- 25:50Speaker 4: don't know who you are?
- 25:51Speaker 5: Like do you realize what you're doing if you were?
- 25:52Speaker 5: And I always say like, oh, that's n you know.
- 25:54Speaker 5: I just it's just a little dance or it's just
- 25:57Speaker 5: a little production.
- 25:57Speaker 4: Oh, Candyland, do.
- 25:58Speaker 2: You know what you just produced at the car for?
- 26:00Speaker 2: By the way? Oh okay, I mean just eating right.
- 26:05Speaker 5: And I'm just like, oh, yeah, it's okay. Because I've
- 26:07Speaker 5: I had to learn so early on to humble myself that.
- 26:11Speaker 4: I became too humbled.
- 26:13Speaker 5: Like it was I don't even think it was the
- 26:15Speaker 5: right word at that point, because it went humbling and
- 26:17Speaker 5: it was just like you really wanted me to miss
- 26:20Speaker 5: who I am?
- 26:22Speaker 2: Are you the only child?
- 26:24Speaker 4: I'm my mom's only child.
- 26:25Speaker 5: My dad has two boys, so I have two brothers
- 26:28Speaker 5: by my dad, but i'm dad. I'm my mom's the
- 26:30Speaker 5: only child. Okay, So so I was the only child,
- 26:34Speaker 5: the spoiled one, you know. I come like I said,
- 26:37Speaker 5: it's eighteen of us grands so but I'm the only
- 26:41Speaker 5: one that's by myself. So I remember I had a
- 26:43Speaker 5: cousin that literally told me you had everything.
- 26:45Speaker 4: So when you went home, we told up your toys,
- 26:47Speaker 4: like we'll come over there and destroy your stuff just.
- 26:49Speaker 5: Because and so growing like looking at back at all
- 26:53Speaker 5: of that, I'm looking at Okay, I see why. My
- 26:55Speaker 5: mom was just kind of kind of protecting me. But
- 26:57Speaker 5: it kind of missed me up a little bit, you know,
- 27:00Speaker 5: because it was like, now I don't accept or I'm not.
- 27:05Speaker 5: You asked me something earlier basically like I'm not. I
- 27:09Speaker 5: have to sit in it. I'm not sitting in a
- 27:11Speaker 5: lot of things because it's almost like, oh, it's okay,
- 27:14Speaker 5: it's just that's a part of it. Oh I gotta
- 27:16Speaker 5: keep going, you know.
- 27:18Speaker 2: It's called avoidance.
- 27:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 27:21Speaker 1: Yeah, Like I've had to deal with that myself. And
- 27:24Speaker 1: I want to validate you because I get being in
- 27:27Speaker 1: a space where you have to dim your life.
- 27:29Speaker 2: I had a cousin. Yeah, I'm finna say it. I'm
- 27:33Speaker 2: finna say it.
- 27:34Speaker 1: I had a cousin recently. I had a cousin recently
- 27:38Speaker 1: to say who do you think you are? And when
- 27:44Speaker 1: it slapped off of me and text message, and I
- 27:47Speaker 1: still had to give them the grace of the Lord.
- 27:50Speaker 2: Versus the west side of that.
- 27:53Speaker 1: I wanted to bring it out because you see me
- 27:57Speaker 1: where I am, and it it does something to you.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Even though I've impacted, you know what I'm saying. So
- 28:07Speaker 1: I've been I have to intentionally decide go with the
- 28:10Speaker 1: impact and not not go with the cloud, because cloud
- 28:13Speaker 1: and impact can look but it's totally different. It's the
- 28:17Speaker 1: it's the stuff that y'all don't know. People coming to
- 28:20Speaker 1: you and saying that dance just did something.
- 28:22Speaker 2: To me, the audience.
- 28:23Speaker 1: I've heard my daddy, Oh my goodness, when I tell
- 28:27Speaker 1: you he enjoyed the mess.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Out of there, Kurt Franklin and for me for me
- 28:34Speaker 2: to no, no.
- 28:40Speaker 1: For me, that passed on joy to me because you know,
- 28:44Speaker 1: daddy has cancer, so any ounce of joy that he
- 28:49Speaker 1: experienced is my joy. Right you're you don't You don't
- 28:53Speaker 1: even see the impact that you're making. You're just doing
- 28:56Speaker 1: walking in obedience. And so when people.
- 28:59Speaker 2: Aren't impacted full uh huh.
- 29:02Speaker 1: Because of their disobedience that they disregard, they say, you
- 29:08Speaker 1: know what, since I decided not to, I want her
- 29:11Speaker 1: to not to either. And so I get that from
- 29:16Speaker 1: a stance of why you've muzzled yourself, but avoiding the
- 29:20Speaker 1: thing we have to It's so easy to avoid because
- 29:24Speaker 1: you're like a in a sense. Avoidance allows you to say,
- 29:28Speaker 1: you know what, I'm not gonna deal with that right now,
- 29:31Speaker 1: and right now is an everyday thing for you? Yeah,
- 29:34Speaker 1: like it becomes every day for you. But it disrupts
- 29:40Speaker 1: Now we're talking about the daughter, God's daughter. What's disrupting
- 29:46Speaker 1: the daughter that impacts the business woman? So now I
- 29:51Speaker 1: can't I can't juggle this or I'm frustrated here. I'm
- 29:56Speaker 1: not seeing here because I've avoided there.
- 29:59Speaker 2: Yeah, good, I can't see I can't.
- 30:02Speaker 1: See here because I'm avoiding what happened back there. And
- 30:06Speaker 1: so I really, I really pray for you, like even
- 30:08Speaker 1: in this moment that you're you have the strength to
- 30:11Speaker 1: go back there, because when I know one thing that
- 30:13Speaker 1: when the Lord takes us back there is because he
- 30:15Speaker 1: trusts us to manage what we see and we have
- 30:19Speaker 1: the ability to see it differently. And so I'm really
- 30:23Speaker 1: grateful for you sharing that with us, because for you
- 30:28Speaker 1: to say that, you put down something that really impacts you.
- 30:36Speaker 2: First, you know what I'm saying.
- 30:37Speaker 1: When we talk about doing ministry, we talk about we're
- 30:41Speaker 1: the first ministry we experience, right, and if we're not
- 30:44Speaker 1: okay with ourselves, it's kind of hard to project, like
- 30:46Speaker 1: how you see this?
- 30:48Speaker 2: I get it, I get it, I get it.
- 30:50Speaker 1: So I'm curious to know if, like going back to
- 30:55Speaker 1: this question, what did you think you would be doing
- 30:58Speaker 1: right now? There there was no dance? What did you
- 31:01Speaker 1: think you would be doing?
- 31:03Speaker 5: Iestly went to school from pre med. I really thought
- 31:06Speaker 5: I was going to be a pediatrician.
- 31:08Speaker 2: What's up with you? And desiberate thinking, y'all gonna stick
- 31:10Speaker 2: with this.
- 31:11Speaker 1: I don't even like noodles or and or blood, by
- 31:13Speaker 1: the way, I thought a pediatrician. Why why let me
- 31:19Speaker 1: tell you?
- 31:19Speaker 5: Okay, So I love science doing I love life science,
- 31:23Speaker 5: and my favorite is like anatomy or like just dealing
- 31:27Speaker 5: with like the different systems, and so the digestive system
- 31:31Speaker 5: is probably my favorite, right, and so I just always
- 31:35Speaker 5: was fascinated about how that works.
- 31:37Speaker 4: And I used to just research.
- 31:39Speaker 5: So I studied biology pre med, and I thought I
- 31:42Speaker 5: was going to medical school, and I really thought I
- 31:44Speaker 5: was gonna be a gas storenturologist.
- 31:46Speaker 4: Oh who gas? I thought I was gonna deal with
- 31:48Speaker 4: the digesticis.
- 31:49Speaker 5: Okay, because but I wanted to doctor Jessica g I
- 31:55Speaker 5: still to ask.
- 31:57Speaker 2: I'm still to ask me.
- 31:59Speaker 4: I really did.
- 32:00Speaker 5: And so when I had my son, while I was
- 32:02Speaker 5: still in school, and I was still gonna do it,
- 32:03Speaker 5: and I was just applying and I couldn't never m
- 32:06Speaker 5: cat scores weren't good. I just couldn't couldn't get it.
- 32:10Speaker 5: And I was just like, I'm just gonna go work
- 32:12Speaker 5: at the bank.
- 32:12Speaker 4: You know, you just go forever. I'm just gonna go
- 32:14Speaker 4: to the.
- 32:14Speaker 5: Bank or so I'm I don't know, go picking week
- 32:16Speaker 5: and go back where I came from.
- 32:18Speaker 4: But I ended up high peed. I used to work
- 32:21Speaker 4: shout out to the pig. I used to work there
- 32:23Speaker 4: in high schools for.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Five five for twenty you get to buy.
- 32:26Speaker 5: Five, yeah, five for nineteen out of nine, pick five.
- 32:30Speaker 2: Pig five.
- 32:30Speaker 1: That's what it was.
- 32:31Speaker 2: Shout out to the pig to make sure we get
- 32:33Speaker 2: to meet with the meal.
- 32:37Speaker 4: So, yeah, that's what I wanted to do.
- 32:39Speaker 5: And honestly, education was a backup because that at that point,
- 32:43Speaker 5: I was still teaching certain kids and doing dance, popping
- 32:46Speaker 5: up at different schools, and I knew I love kids,
- 32:49Speaker 5: and I knew I little science. So I was like,
- 32:51Speaker 5: I'm just gonna go back for education, and I got
- 32:52Speaker 5: my master's in education.
- 32:53Speaker 1: Okay, we thank God because not saying you couldn't do,
- 33:00Speaker 1: but we wouldn't have the dance with you because you
- 33:03Speaker 1: we have the doctor and people understand.
- 33:06Speaker 5: It now like I noticed stuff, but it makes so
- 33:09Speaker 5: much sense now, Okay, God, that's why you.
- 33:11Speaker 1: Said, well, I want to tap into your motherhood for
- 33:14Speaker 1: a second, because I genuinely didn't realize that you had
- 33:17Speaker 1: a son.
- 33:18Speaker 2: I did not realize you had a son, but that.
- 33:22Speaker 1: Daughter, that daughter. I I let me just say this.
- 33:28Speaker 1: I enjoy watching you guys do relationship. I'm grateful I've
- 33:34Speaker 1: shared on this platform that my mother and I have had,
- 33:38Speaker 1: you know, to grow and develop in our relationship, just
- 33:41Speaker 1: for multiple reasons. You know, kimll and I live with
- 33:43Speaker 1: our daddy for like ever, and that that the mother experience,
- 33:51Speaker 1: the mother dar experience that I would probably have liked,
- 33:54Speaker 1: I didn't get, just mainly because you know, daddy had
- 33:57Speaker 1: one custody of us and that was an everyday thing
- 34:00Speaker 1: and trying to learn and navigate.
- 34:02Speaker 2: And so when I see women.
- 34:03Speaker 1: With their daughter, especially as young as yours and y'all
- 34:06Speaker 1: it's almost like she your twin, like like your best friend,
- 34:09Speaker 1: your acepo and gone. She's walking in the it seems
- 34:12Speaker 1: like she's walking in the same steps. As far as
- 34:15Speaker 1: like the love of dance, when did you start seeing
- 34:19Speaker 1: that in her?
- 34:19Speaker 2: And how did you?
- 34:21Speaker 1: How did you push her without dragging her into a
- 34:25Speaker 1: decision with dance?
- 34:27Speaker 5: Honestly, she claims she does not like to dance. She said,
- 34:31Speaker 5: she just do it because I just do it, just
- 34:33Speaker 5: because she's actually into sports, like she likes basketball and track.
- 34:38Speaker 5: And I still don't understand why she's still on my stage.
- 34:45Speaker 4: It's like I pack up and give her head to
- 34:46Speaker 4: the studio. She got on her dance quit.
- 34:50Speaker 5: But it's funny. She says that I think it's just natural.
- 34:53Speaker 5: It's just in her because when she was a baby,
- 34:55Speaker 5: and that's all she did. And I remember being she
- 34:58Speaker 5: was probably like six months and she was dream and
- 35:00Speaker 5: holler and we would think, maybe she need a bottle,
- 35:02Speaker 5: maybe she needs this, But it was the atmosphere. So
- 35:05Speaker 5: if she would leave out of it, if we were
- 35:06Speaker 5: leaving a part like a family reunion or picking anywhere
- 35:09Speaker 5: with music, and we get in her car seat and
- 35:12Speaker 5: get in the car before the car. Cat start no,
- 35:14Speaker 5: like she losing it, like just crying. We'll get out
- 35:17Speaker 5: the car, get her back together, take her back inside
- 35:19Speaker 5: she like. And one time they took her out. It's
- 35:23Speaker 5: a video and it's so funny because back then videos
- 35:26Speaker 5: weren't like they are now, so it's kind of blurry.
- 35:28Speaker 5: But they took her out and sit home on the thing.
- 35:31Speaker 5: As soon as it was an old song like I
- 35:33Speaker 5: Need You, she was just like but she was like
- 35:37Speaker 5: eight mine.
- 35:38Speaker 4: We was like, this is what it was. She wanted dance,
- 35:41Speaker 4: It's just natural. She just all she do. But I
- 35:44Speaker 4: don't dance. I don't I don't like to dance.
- 35:48Speaker 2: How have you I don't.
- 35:49Speaker 1: See yourself healed through y'all's relationship from the opportunities that
- 35:55Speaker 1: you and your mom might have experienced in y'all's relationship.
- 35:58Speaker 1: How do I see her like so navigating your relationship
- 36:01Speaker 1: with your daughter? Now? How have you seen yourself healed
- 36:04Speaker 1: from certain patterns that you saw with you and your mom?
- 36:08Speaker 5: I let her and some people may disagree, but I
- 36:12Speaker 5: let her be free. I mean she still had boundaries,
- 36:16Speaker 5: but as far as expressing who she is and get
- 36:21Speaker 5: figuring herself out, I let her do that with grace.
- 36:25Speaker 5: I give her the grace I give you know, I
- 36:26Speaker 5: still guide her, but I don't shut her down immediately
- 36:30Speaker 5: just because it doesn't look good or I may think
- 36:34Speaker 5: it don't look good to others. So I think that's
- 36:37Speaker 5: probably the only thing that I'm watching through her.
- 36:42Speaker 4: But I didn't do that with my son. I was
- 36:45Speaker 4: how I am. My son is me.
- 36:47Speaker 5: So I'm watching him battle with confidence. I'm watching and
- 36:50Speaker 5: he's so handsome, and I'm watching him looking and like
- 36:53Speaker 5: looking down or he had lots he had to cut
- 36:55Speaker 5: him because he was hiding them.
- 36:57Speaker 4: So like their night and day.
- 36:58Speaker 5: But with my daughter, I'm giving her a little more
- 37:01Speaker 5: freedom to learn who she is. And even if it's
- 37:04Speaker 5: some stuff, I'm just like, that's around tell you, I'll
- 37:09Speaker 5: just like.
- 37:09Speaker 4: Just keep praying. I'm trying to let her figure it out.
- 37:12Speaker 4: You know, I don't want her to do that, Like
- 37:14Speaker 4: why would she say that?
- 37:15Speaker 5: Even I know when me growing up, I was kind
- 37:19Speaker 5: of coached through certain stuff like don't go in there,
- 37:21Speaker 5: saying it, don't you go in here, because you know,
- 37:23Speaker 5: you never.
- 37:23Speaker 4: Know what's gonna come out with a kid.
- 37:25Speaker 5: Whereas with her, I just kind of let her talk,
- 37:28Speaker 5: like she'll give me that lit like, did I go
- 37:29Speaker 5: to far? I don't, looking like yes, but it's fine,
- 37:32Speaker 5: But I just try to let her figure herself out.
- 37:35Speaker 1: Aly bit tell me making her conversation that you and
- 37:40Speaker 1: your son had that made you make that sweet with
- 37:42Speaker 1: your daughter.
- 37:44Speaker 5: No, not, well, we've had several conversations. He mentions all
- 37:48Speaker 5: the time on his safe space.
- 37:50Speaker 4: I don't believe it. I think he be talking to somebody.
- 37:54Speaker 5: But anytime he ain'tybody asking me, he says like, it's
- 37:56Speaker 5: my mom my safe space and he's talked to like,
- 37:58Speaker 5: and I'm just why I can see it and I
- 38:01Speaker 5: see me and.
- 38:02Speaker 4: I'm just so I learned that their love languages are.
- 38:05Speaker 5: Different, Like my daughter is a quality time person, but
- 38:08Speaker 5: my son is an affirmation Yeah and so and I'm both.
- 38:13Speaker 5: So it's so funny that I see me in both
- 38:15Speaker 5: of them. Yeah and so I have to I always
- 38:18Speaker 5: And I picked it up late. I picked it up
- 38:20Speaker 5: really late with him, but I picked it up when.
- 38:22Speaker 5: But it took me to see me though this y
- 38:25Speaker 5: the issues that I what I was dealing with or
- 38:27Speaker 5: how I was handling things to realize, like you bringing
- 38:31Speaker 5: it on to him, You brought that generational issue to
- 38:34Speaker 5: your son. So now it's up to you to try
- 38:36Speaker 5: to do what you can to kind of fix that.
- 38:40Speaker 5: And so we've had conversations, but like I said, I
- 38:44Speaker 5: think it's just more of me noticing the more I
- 38:46Speaker 5: see me, I see him, and when I see the
- 38:49Speaker 5: more that I see me, and I try to make
- 38:52Speaker 5: that adjustment. Then I try to give him that room
- 38:55Speaker 5: to adjust or just try to remind him of who.
- 38:56Speaker 4: He is, like, hey, you that dude that got Yeah,
- 39:00Speaker 4: but he had.
- 39:00Speaker 5: So Yeah, but he would hide and I'm high and
- 39:03Speaker 5: like you just said, a waiter, he avoids, he hides.
- 39:07Speaker 5: He's okay with helping, but being in the background. Yeah,
- 39:10Speaker 5: he's okay with whatever you need me to do, Jez,
- 39:13Speaker 5: keep me up off the spotlight.
- 39:15Speaker 4: That's him. And I'm like, that's so me.
- 39:17Speaker 1: That's on me, wanted, wanted, wanting. What if what if
- 39:22Speaker 1: that's not what you really wanted?
- 39:24Speaker 2: What that was? What if that was what you were
- 39:26Speaker 2: trained or trained yourself?
- 39:27Speaker 5: And it could be trained, It could be more so
- 39:30Speaker 5: training at this point.
- 39:32Speaker 4: Minute, you look good, girl, it's trained.
- 39:36Speaker 5: Sure, it's a matter of thank you.
- 39:41Speaker 2: Cute she just caught that. I think, girl, you look good.
- 39:48Speaker 2: It looks like, Okay, you know what I'm saying.
- 39:51Speaker 4: Water this morning.
- 39:52Speaker 2: Listen, Drinking water would do some things for you.
- 39:55Speaker 4: Okay, water this morning.
- 39:56Speaker 1: So we we've talked about a lot, and I'm curiou
- 40:00Speaker 1: about something because I saw you do a post not
- 40:02Speaker 1: too long ago with is it Abny Arrington?
- 40:06Speaker 2: Did I say her name right now?
- 40:08Speaker 1: She? She's been around a long time. That that I
- 40:11Speaker 1: think that was if I know.
- 40:14Speaker 2: So, I'm not trying to make this a cultural thing,
- 40:16Speaker 2: but that this is my right. I knew a lot
- 40:19Speaker 2: of white.
- 40:20Speaker 1: People are Caucasian brothers and sisters. Shout out to y'all
- 40:22Speaker 1: that had, you know, dance studios. And one of my
- 40:27Speaker 1: friends in high school she went to those days to
- 40:29Speaker 1: those I think it was like one in hugh Town
- 40:31Speaker 1: or something like greg probably. So. I don't know their name,
- 40:35Speaker 1: but I remember Ebny Arrington because it was such a
- 40:37Speaker 1: big deal. Seven Jams was always promoting it, and all
- 40:42Speaker 1: the black girls was in there.
- 40:44Speaker 2: They was, they was in there.
- 40:45Speaker 5: Okay, like the produced some talented dancing. Oh yeah, point
- 40:50Speaker 5: some talented dancers. There's dancing Broadway in New York to
- 40:55Speaker 5: this day. Her and Jack Lockart.
- 40:56Speaker 1: Yeah, so I I think I appreciated that post because
- 41:02Speaker 1: I don't think. I never thought about studios being a
- 41:08Speaker 1: competitive measure against each other.
- 41:10Speaker 2: Have you experienced that I have?
- 41:14Speaker 1: Okay, are you free to talk about Okay, ain't trying
- 41:18Speaker 1: to start, no mask.
- 41:19Speaker 5: I'm just curious because I didn't think. I'm like, it's
- 41:23Speaker 5: you dancing.
- 41:24Speaker 4: Yeah, and it is.
- 41:25Speaker 5: And what I've learned is that everybody. Everybody has their
- 41:29Speaker 5: their people. You know you're gonna go to who you
- 41:32Speaker 5: go to, and that's okay. But I learned later on
- 41:36Speaker 5: that I was in competition and I had no clue.
- 41:41Speaker 5: I've had local studio owners, black owned to reach out
- 41:46Speaker 5: to my instructors, have meetings with them, and when they
- 41:48Speaker 5: say they're okay where they are, they made the coming,
- 41:51Speaker 5: Oh you faithful, oh you lord, your lawyer, and it's
- 41:55Speaker 5: just like, well, we could do this together. But also,
- 41:58Speaker 5: this is the same owner that I've reached out to
- 42:02Speaker 5: before I had my studio and asked to help out.
- 42:06Speaker 4: I was willing to help THEMN Yeah, I want. I
- 42:09Speaker 4: wanted to just teach again.
- 42:11Speaker 5: I never ever, but God, I thank you for your nose,
- 42:15Speaker 5: even when I didn't understand it. I just thank you
- 42:17Speaker 5: for your nose because talking through it makes me realize, like, man,
- 42:20Speaker 5: you really be like.
- 42:23Speaker 4: And I'd be like, I'm gonna do this. He's like, no,
- 42:25Speaker 4: you're not.
- 42:25Speaker 5: But I've I've reached out and in a minute, like
- 42:29Speaker 5: I would be left on red. And the minute that
- 42:33Speaker 5: I started my business, I got a message and it
- 42:37Speaker 5: was like, I never knew you danced.
- 42:39Speaker 2: From the that same I know you dance.
- 42:41Speaker 4: Congratulations girl. Why didn't you tell me you did? Point?
- 42:44Speaker 4: Why didn't you tell me? And I had to make
- 42:46Speaker 4: sure I wasn't triven so I had.
- 42:47Speaker 5: To scroll you go look it up, see it right
- 42:50Speaker 5: here twenty twenty one, nineteen. I said, hey, let me
- 42:54Speaker 5: know you see that, And so I was just like okay,
- 42:58Speaker 5: I was like, yeah, I told you.
- 42:59Speaker 4: I'd even tried.
- 43:00Speaker 5: I've even my daughter, Even with my studio going, my
- 43:03Speaker 5: daughter has been a part of something that she does
- 43:07Speaker 5: that I think is amazing, and so we've supported. But
- 43:11Speaker 5: I noticed that it's not reciprocated. And I'm not the
- 43:14Speaker 5: type that if it's not reciprocated, I'm not gonna do it.
- 43:16Speaker 5: But at some point I can go and support other things. Yeah,
- 43:20Speaker 5: and so yeah, it's bad. So when when I reached
- 43:23Speaker 5: out to her. I reached out to everybody that was
- 43:26Speaker 5: in that in that arena, just letting them know like, hey,
- 43:29Speaker 5: this is what I'm doing.
- 43:30Speaker 4: I love your support. Blah blah blah.
- 43:32Speaker 5: If you have any insights shared with me, because I
- 43:35Speaker 5: don't know, you know, and Ebanie Airton and Jackie Lockhart
- 43:39Speaker 5: will immediately like what you need, whatever you need, I
- 43:43Speaker 5: got it.
- 43:44Speaker 4: Hey have you thought about this? Have you thought about that?
- 43:46Speaker 5: I can reach out to this particular owner and say, hey,
- 43:48Speaker 5: where did you get this from? Or you'll say, I
- 43:52Speaker 5: don't know, someplace in New York or some place in well,
- 43:55Speaker 5: you know the place.
- 43:56Speaker 4: Can you go back and tell me it's okay? So
- 43:59Speaker 4: it is.
- 44:00Speaker 5: It's sad, unfortunately, but I'm grateful for the village that
- 44:04Speaker 5: I do have, because, like I said, when Evan and
- 44:07Speaker 5: Ayrton called me that day, we were together. We were
- 44:09Speaker 5: actually together because she was doing pictures for her dancers,
- 44:13Speaker 5: and she said.
- 44:13Speaker 4: Hey, have you done studio pictures? And I said, no,
- 44:16Speaker 4: I ain't thought about that.
- 44:18Speaker 2: No.
- 44:18Speaker 4: She said, well, come on, you can come on.
- 44:20Speaker 5: And get on the schedule with us. And I got
- 44:22Speaker 5: on their schedule, so we did it together. I don't
- 44:24Speaker 5: know if you've seen you on these pictures, but they.
- 44:25Speaker 1: Were so po Evan Ayrton's pictures always do they go
- 44:31Speaker 1: to a whole nother le.
- 44:32Speaker 4: She did.
- 44:33Speaker 5: She invited me in. She said, I'm doing inventory I have.
- 44:36Speaker 5: This lady has been in business over thirty years. So
- 44:38Speaker 5: she's like, I have so many uniforms, come see what
- 44:40Speaker 5: you need. So a couple of uniforms that they wore
- 44:43Speaker 5: in this past recital was from Evan and Ayrton.
- 44:47Speaker 4: Jackie Lockhart. She donated Marley Dance.
- 44:50Speaker 5: Floor not might as well have given it away for
- 44:53Speaker 5: the price that she sold them to, you know what
- 44:55Speaker 5: I mean. So it's literally people that want to see
- 44:58Speaker 5: the arts awesome. And so my hope is that we
- 45:03Speaker 5: can all I've always had I've always do. I've done
- 45:05Speaker 5: dancing in the city within, but my goal is to
- 45:09Speaker 5: do dancing in the city, literally dancing in the city.
- 45:12Speaker 5: And it's bringing all of these these black owned fine
- 45:16Speaker 5: arts companies together and dance in the city.
- 45:20Speaker 2: I think I should do that.
- 45:21Speaker 1: I think that that would be dope, Like especially during February,
- 45:24Speaker 1: like the month of February, or even a June.
- 45:26Speaker 2: Teeth thing or whatever. You know, if you need a host.
- 45:30Speaker 4: Okay, look at this right.
- 45:33Speaker 5: Writing down, you know, history recording, you know, if you
- 45:37Speaker 5: need a host, I think that, Yeah, all right, not
- 45:43Speaker 5: a week week.
- 45:44Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying on fire, shout out my
- 45:50Speaker 2: girl week over that way.
- 45:56Speaker 1: She's gonna be her song, trust me, trust me, she's
- 45:58Speaker 1: gonna be her soul. But I think that would be dope.
- 46:02Speaker 1: I think that, and it's needed. It's really neat. The
- 46:05Speaker 1: one thing that frustrated me is when they started taking
- 46:10Speaker 1: arts out of the schools.
- 46:11Speaker 2: Yes, that was my big, biggest frustration.
- 46:14Speaker 1: I played violin when I was in elementary school.
- 46:22Speaker 2: Listen, my I.
- 46:24Speaker 1: Think my lady was named is pain on Miss Pittman.
- 46:27Speaker 1: I think it's Pittman.
- 46:29Speaker 2: Listen, And I think I could have done a lot.
- 46:34Speaker 4: Now.
- 46:34Speaker 1: My reason for stopping was because Daddy had to go
- 46:37Speaker 1: overseas and we've moved to Atlanta. My mama, so my
- 46:41Speaker 1: mama wasn't trying to do all that. Mama was like nah,
- 46:45Speaker 1: and I had a teacher willing, but she was.
- 46:48Speaker 2: It just went't working out.
- 46:49Speaker 1: But that was one of the most freeing experiences that
- 46:54Speaker 1: I just loved learning how to play the violin. It
- 46:57Speaker 1: was very unique. And so when the school starts taking
- 47:00Speaker 1: the arts. I feel like that's when you saw a
- 47:04Speaker 1: new level of.
- 47:06Speaker 2: I hate to say this, I really hate to say this.
- 47:09Speaker 2: Let me say it like this.
- 47:12Speaker 1: I'm gonna speak life into the kids safe. I saw
- 47:22Speaker 1: another level of dysfunction, like greater levels of dysfunction because
- 47:26Speaker 1: there was no escape, no escape because the book smart,
- 47:30Speaker 1: not the not the traditional book smart. Now I'm smart now,
- 47:33Speaker 1: but traditional book smart. That's why you were g I
- 47:35Speaker 1: a O gotro passed. Whatever you said, that ain't me.
- 47:41Speaker 1: But I can tell you how to branding market I
- 47:43Speaker 1: can tell you how to do this podcast.
- 47:45Speaker 2: I can tell you how to learn your art. I
- 47:47Speaker 2: can do that smart. You know what I'm saying.
- 47:50Speaker 1: But I think that it really took a toll on
- 47:54Speaker 1: the escape for children.
- 47:57Speaker 2: What have you seen as.
- 47:58Speaker 1: A teacher from that end? And I know I heard
- 48:01Speaker 1: you say that you get them to move or whatever,
- 48:03Speaker 1: But what other unique ways do you offer an art
- 48:08Speaker 1: outlet for your students.
- 48:10Speaker 5: So I've purposely connected or gotten close with the theater teacher. Okay,
- 48:17Speaker 5: I'm intentionally. My best friend is the assistant band director.
- 48:20Speaker 5: So a lot of times, even though I teach science,
- 48:23Speaker 5: I still try to connect with them and give suggestions
- 48:28Speaker 5: and ideas and even though they're not in your class, Hey,
- 48:31Speaker 5: I have these kids right here. He's always doing this,
- 48:34Speaker 5: So like just being that middleman and connecting them to
- 48:40Speaker 5: other things, because like you said, it is lost. The
- 48:42Speaker 5: sad thing is I teach high school, so by the
- 48:45Speaker 5: time they get to high.
- 48:46Speaker 4: School, a lot of them lack that.
- 48:49Speaker 5: Like that.
- 48:49Speaker 4: It's nothing.
- 48:50Speaker 5: It's not that they're lacking it or they're not interested,
- 48:53Speaker 5: they just don't know. And if they don't know, then
- 48:55Speaker 5: they don't care to know at that point. Yeah, I
- 48:57Speaker 5: think it really supposed to start an elementary. He's missing
- 49:01Speaker 5: the elementary. But I think I'm me being the middle
- 49:04Speaker 5: man and connecting these kids that I see every day
- 49:07Speaker 5: because I'm the only ninth grade teacher.
- 49:09Speaker 4: So I see every ninth grader that coming to.
- 49:11Speaker 2: Only ninth grade signed biology teacher. Okay, because about to say, it's.
- 49:14Speaker 5: Only one ninth grade science class, so every ninth grader
- 49:17Speaker 5: that come in the building.
- 49:18Speaker 1: And don't you ain't that crazy. I don't want to
- 49:21Speaker 1: put your school out there, but you got to be
- 49:22Speaker 1: a school.
- 49:23Speaker 4: On the web side, it was a big this class because.
- 49:27Speaker 2: Don't need y'all stalk because she's fine.
- 49:29Speaker 4: I mean, I'm just.
- 49:31Speaker 2: I don't need y'all stocking.
- 49:32Speaker 1: You can ask her on a date because she's open
- 49:35Speaker 1: to dating, but don't be stalking friends because she's fine.
- 49:42Speaker 4: Right.
- 49:43Speaker 5: So you know the classes that are be but by me
- 49:46Speaker 5: being able to technically, I get to this twelfth grade
- 49:49Speaker 5: class was my first class being there, so I literally
- 49:53Speaker 5: get this. Everybody's in that building has come through me,
- 49:56Speaker 5: so I get to touch them in some way and
- 49:58Speaker 5: introduce them to the fine arts. And it's crazy because
- 50:00Speaker 5: I always mentioned my business to them because everybody may
- 50:03Speaker 5: not be interested in dance, but a lot of them
- 50:05Speaker 5: say you.
- 50:05Speaker 4: Round and they like a studio and they like, are
- 50:08Speaker 4: you round?
- 50:09Speaker 5: And I'm like, no, I don't, but I can connect
- 50:10Speaker 5: you like music, you know, or I bring people in.
- 50:14Speaker 5: We did a boys conference just one day where I
- 50:17Speaker 5: brought some me in.
- 50:18Speaker 4: It was alumni for school. That's big, like lea, yeah.
- 50:25Speaker 2: My friend up by.
- 50:26Speaker 4: The kids love a bit.
- 50:28Speaker 5: Of it because that's what they're men saying. All that
- 50:31Speaker 5: they're seeing is duel enroall in early college, you know
- 50:34Speaker 5: what I mean. They're seeing that so much and it's
- 50:36Speaker 5: just like it's not for everybody.
- 50:37Speaker 4: So now they need to see trades coming.
- 50:39Speaker 5: Well, they see certain trades, but they need to see
- 50:42Speaker 5: this podcast. They need to see these artists that worked
- 50:45Speaker 5: with Countrywayne he was there or you know, just these
- 50:48Speaker 5: different entrepreneurs, black men that grew up in the same
- 50:51Speaker 5: community they grew in, so they can see like, oh,
- 50:53Speaker 5: and then they weren't up tight, so.
- 50:55Speaker 4: They weren't like all right, guys. Today they're like what's
- 50:57Speaker 4: up y'all? Like that, you know, but they were able
- 51:01Speaker 4: to talk to them.
- 51:02Speaker 5: So I think my my role is to connect that
- 51:06Speaker 5: be that missing piece.
- 51:07Speaker 4: Even though I don't teach.
- 51:08Speaker 5: Fine arts, I have a heart and passion for it,
- 51:11Speaker 5: so I'm able to find a way to get it
- 51:14Speaker 5: in there somehow, some way, somehow.
- 51:16Speaker 1: I love that I knew, I knew you was doing.
- 51:18Speaker 1: I was just trying to she trying, y'all, she trying.
- 51:21Speaker 1: I love that you connect the.
- 51:24Speaker 5: Emails to the fine arts department, like, hey, we can
- 51:26Speaker 5: this is me.
- 51:27Speaker 4: This is what I do.
- 51:28Speaker 5: Besides hold up, we can do this, I know. But listen,
- 51:35Speaker 5: it's a big thing in education with that what's what's
- 51:39Speaker 5: the word? Yeah, yeah, but they don't want they call it.
- 51:43Speaker 5: Where do they call it? Pretty much like it's it
- 51:48Speaker 5: could almost be an issue depending on who you're talking to.
- 51:50Speaker 5: You have to play with your words. Okay, So I
- 51:53Speaker 5: can tell you that, and I can send you my information.
- 51:55Speaker 5: You can pull it up and you can see what
- 51:57Speaker 5: I got going on, you know what I mean? Conflict
- 52:01Speaker 5: of interest.
- 52:02Speaker 1: That because you just took it out of school. Yeah,
- 52:05Speaker 1: and so so what we're conflicting with.
- 52:07Speaker 5: Yeah, I've met, I've been like, I'm actually working on
- 52:10Speaker 5: a curriculum right now.
- 52:11Speaker 4: I'm gonna pray to that thing.
- 52:13Speaker 2: And we're gonna pray and she's gonna say nothing else
- 52:15Speaker 2: about it?
- 52:15Speaker 1: Is it?
- 52:16Speaker 2: And the Lord gonna blow on it. So don't even track.
- 52:18Speaker 2: We all witches and warlock that try to that because
- 52:22Speaker 2: it's near.
- 52:23Speaker 4: It's really needed, it's really needed.
- 52:25Speaker 5: We had it, and I think me doing music in
- 52:28Speaker 5: elementary school, like you said, the violin or recorder.
- 52:38Speaker 1: Yeah, it's eating was our music teacher tell lights sounding
- 52:45Speaker 1: and recorders down.
- 52:48Speaker 4: Yeah, that Christmas programs and music playing.
- 52:52Speaker 5: Oh yeah, you you experienced that. You feel that that
- 52:55Speaker 5: was your introduction to showtime, to the lights, the show,
- 53:00Speaker 5: the fine arts, the performance, the performing arts. And then
- 53:03Speaker 5: you want to do it again and you go to
- 53:05Speaker 5: the next little in middle school. Now you really think
- 53:06Speaker 5: you're doing something. You got your little shirt that say soprano.
- 53:09Speaker 5: And because now we're now.
- 53:11Speaker 4: We're in sexis y'all?
- 53:13Speaker 2: Did y'all play the xylophone?
- 53:15Speaker 5: We did to tell that. I used to tell people
- 53:19Speaker 5: I thought.
- 53:19Speaker 4: I was doing something because it's just it's missing.
- 53:23Speaker 5: Now they've merged them together with band and music, so
- 53:27Speaker 5: there is no choir.
- 53:28Speaker 4: You know what I mean. And it's just it has
- 53:30Speaker 4: to come back. I guess it's just we.
- 53:33Speaker 1: Need it because I think it's like that, the dysfunction
- 53:36Speaker 1: that we're seeing. I feel like it's gonna it would
- 53:39Speaker 1: die down because sports is not the only answer.
- 53:41Speaker 4: It's not, I know, not answer.
- 53:44Speaker 2: Listen. Let's I played basketball because I needed an outlet.
- 53:49Speaker 5: I played volleyball, but I ain't getting in. I was
- 53:51Speaker 5: just on the team because my friends.
- 53:55Speaker 2: That's all right. This this has definitely been a lovely conversation.
- 53:58Speaker 2: I think, what can you she was? She said she
- 54:01Speaker 2: was nervous before, but she did a good job. We
- 54:05Speaker 2: had a good conversation. I told you, what's what's your
- 54:08Speaker 2: thinking over us?
- 54:08Speaker 1: Is? No?
- 54:09Speaker 2: This is a beautiful conversation.
- 54:11Speaker 1: I love to watch too, because you know, It's one
- 54:15Speaker 1: thing like when you when you meet somebody and you
- 54:18Speaker 1: see where they are right, but I think it's another
- 54:20Speaker 1: thing when you actually get to hear the progress of
- 54:22Speaker 1: their journey.
- 54:23Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying. I love a good story,
- 54:24Speaker 2: I love a good journey, and so I believe.
- 54:29Speaker 1: That there's a a moment of there's a transitional moment
- 54:35Speaker 1: that happens sometimes when we're able to fully receive and
- 54:39Speaker 1: sit in the weight of what God has called us to,
- 54:42Speaker 1: you know. And so everybody gets to that point at
- 54:45Speaker 1: different times, and I think the friction helps us get
- 54:48Speaker 1: there a little bit quicker, you know.
- 54:49Speaker 2: And so I'm excited just to kind of see where.
- 54:54Speaker 1: Where God takes I'm gonna say the studio, but where
- 54:58Speaker 1: God takes Waikiria next m hm. So I'm excited to
- 55:01Speaker 1: see that because I got a friendly seat. Okay, yeah,
- 55:05Speaker 1: I'm I'm excited for you at Kiria. I'm excited for
- 55:08Speaker 1: you to be able to embrace the business woman. I'm
- 55:11Speaker 1: excited for you to be able to to allow God
- 55:17Speaker 1: to blow on what he and He's already done because
- 55:21Speaker 1: you have the foundation of the thing. But like I
- 55:24Speaker 1: told you earlier and I'm just gonna say this on record,
- 55:26Speaker 1: is that the seeds have been planned and I see
- 55:29Speaker 1: the sprouts, I see the sprouts, and I know that
- 55:35Speaker 1: I'm even seeing the roots of the seed. And that
- 55:39Speaker 1: was a season where the Lord allowed, Thank you, Holy
- 55:43Speaker 1: Spirit allows you to be hidden so that when you
- 55:47Speaker 1: sprouted up, you would be ready to be seen. And
- 55:50Speaker 1: there's a responsibility of being seen that we don't we
- 55:54Speaker 1: don't really talk about. And I think that the most
- 55:58Speaker 1: humble people are the people that God, the God is
- 56:01Speaker 1: calling to be visible because they know that they always
- 56:04Speaker 1: have to redirect their visibility to who He is. And
- 56:08Speaker 1: so you're you're more than prepared, You're more than equipped
- 56:12Speaker 1: for this, this season of visibility that you are. You're
- 56:16Speaker 1: not even walking in, You're there. You're there, so be visible.
- 56:21Speaker 1: Be visible. So as a tradition on just ask, we
- 56:25Speaker 1: allow our guests to have the final word. We've talked
- 56:27Speaker 1: about a lot. We we've talked about a lot. It's
- 56:30Speaker 1: been a good conversation. But if also if you've had
- 56:33Speaker 1: anything you're not ready to go, yes, you know, I
- 56:38Speaker 1: ain't gonna ask you who was better.
- 56:44Speaker 2: I love I love I love my friend, I love you,
- 56:49Speaker 2: I love my friend.
- 56:51Speaker 1: But as a tradition, I like to give the guests
- 56:55Speaker 1: the last the last words. So if you have something
- 56:57Speaker 1: on your heart that you want to share, whether it
- 56:59Speaker 1: was something that you came in here with or you
- 57:02Speaker 1: want to emphasize a part of our conversation, the floor
- 57:05Speaker 1: is yours.
- 57:07Speaker 4: Hmmm. I only want to say I think you know.
- 57:10Speaker 5: I say, only then start saying, but I really want
- 57:14Speaker 5: to acknowledge the fact that I really came in here
- 57:18Speaker 5: extremely nervous. Yes I know, Desiray, Yes I know you know,
- 57:21Speaker 5: I know you, and I've been into space with you all,
- 57:25Speaker 5: but I was really really nervous.
- 57:27Speaker 4: And what I loved about you the most as soon as.
- 57:30Speaker 5: I walked in the door, when you walked out the door,
- 57:35Speaker 5: it was just something about your presence, something about your prison,
- 57:38Speaker 5: something about your aura.
- 57:39Speaker 4: I see it all the time.
- 57:41Speaker 5: I watch your podcast, I follow I subscribe with the kids,
- 57:44Speaker 5: say light I do, and what I'm really big on
- 57:50Speaker 5: picking up on spirits and you know what I mean.
- 57:53Speaker 5: I know what was real and what was not. And
- 57:54Speaker 5: you are definitely authentic. You're definitely real. I love And
- 57:58Speaker 5: it makes sense the reason why y'all to together, because
- 58:00Speaker 5: this ray is just Oh, my God.
- 58:03Speaker 4: Heaven seen.
- 58:04Speaker 5: You know, she's heaven seen. So I just I want
- 58:07Speaker 5: to personally thank y'all for having me. I want to
- 58:09Speaker 5: thank you for your hospitality, thank you for making me
- 58:12Speaker 5: feel comfortable because.
- 58:15Speaker 4: This thing was bubbling over here. I mean, but I
- 58:20Speaker 4: appreciate y'all.
- 58:21Speaker 1: Also, also, y'all, this has been a conversation that I
- 58:26Speaker 1: think that it's worthy of you digesting will.
- 58:32Speaker 2: If you've had.
- 58:32Speaker 1: Struggles with your visibility and being mute, I want to
- 58:38Speaker 1: give you the opportunity to seek God, to be too,
- 58:41Speaker 1: to be heard in the places where people will actually listen,
- 58:45Speaker 1: because you have a tribe, you have, you are called
- 58:47Speaker 1: to a people, and I want you to find the
- 58:51Speaker 1: confidence of God to do the thing you're supposed to
- 58:53Speaker 1: do right and not try to hide away from from
- 58:59Speaker 1: the responsibility of visibility, because what happens is we run
- 59:04Speaker 1: away from the promises of God by doing that, and
- 59:07Speaker 1: we also run away from the love of God, because
- 59:11Speaker 1: it says in the Word, if you love Me, then
- 59:13Speaker 1: you obey My commands. And it's because out of the
- 59:16Speaker 1: more you love God, the more you're willing to obey Him.
- 59:19Speaker 1: And so I just want to say, love God more
- 59:22Speaker 1: until next week. Until next time, remember life could be
- 59:26Speaker 1: much more simple if you just ask.
- 59:34Speaker 2: Thank you for tuning in to this week's episode.
- 59:37Speaker 6: Since you've made it this far, you might as well
- 59:39Speaker 6: connect with us on all.
- 59:40Speaker 2: Social media platforms at the Jessica S. Smith.
- 59:44Speaker 6: I know I won't see you back until next week,
- 59:47Speaker 6: but until then, remember to love always yourself and always
- 59:53Speaker 6: thank thank God for one another day.
- 59:58Speaker 3: Hey, I know we be another way. Hey, pray thank
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: God for another day. Hey, Hey, I'm just thankful another day. Hey, hey,
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: another day? Oh, another day wise, another day to get
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: it right, another day to rise up, another day living,
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: another day. We loved ones. I always remember hold it
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: down for a ball one ye
