- 2:03Speaker 3: show this morning, we do get a check in on
- 2:05Speaker 3: what's going on under the dome. Looks like that some
- 2:09Speaker 3: of the lunch leader's got a little bit of a
- 2:12Speaker 3: warning if you will, from the governor and says he
- 2:15Speaker 3: may have them, he may hold them over, you know,
- 2:17Speaker 3: if they don't get more done. I mean it's like
- 2:19Speaker 3: almost like detention or something like that. So we'll talk
- 2:21Speaker 3: to Steven Allen Adams about that, plus other things going
- 2:24Speaker 3: on in the news. And now some of the bills
- 2:27Speaker 3: are being read by AI. I understand that's that's kind
- 2:30Speaker 3: of a weird thing. So we'll get to Steved about
- 2:32Speaker 3: that and later on the show toward the end, if
- 2:35Speaker 3: time permits, we'll go live to the Capitol and we'll
- 2:37Speaker 3: talk to Wilson and Meadows about things that are going
- 2:40Speaker 3: on there. Want to welcome into the show though, or
- 2:42Speaker 3: good friend Rick Cavana from Charleston Urban Works, Good morning, sir,
- 2:45Speaker 3: Welcome to the show.
- 2:45Speaker 5: Good morning, Dave. Are you going sir? Let me think
- 2:47Speaker 5: of the new I am impressed. I mean this is nice,
- 2:52Speaker 5: am I The first guest no see no, no, it's
- 2:56Speaker 5: less special now.
- 2:57Speaker 6: No.
- 2:58Speaker 3: The first guest was my The first guest in studio
- 3:01Speaker 3: was my good friend Jim Workman from Wally and Whippy
- 3:03Speaker 3: Sports digest. I had him on to talk a little
- 3:05Speaker 3: sports recap the state tournament and the WU basketball situation. Uh,
- 3:10Speaker 3: and then he was the first guest in the show
- 3:13Speaker 3: in the studio. So we've had we've had others since then.
- 3:16Speaker 3: This is real nice. Sorry, you are least I will
- 3:18Speaker 3: say this. You are the first member of the Leadership
- 3:24Speaker 3: West Virginia class of twenty fifteen.
- 3:27Speaker 5: That is very neat. That is very neat studio. But
- 3:30Speaker 5: that's great. There's you have several of.
- 3:33Speaker 3: Our classmates in I have so including Charleston Meir Amy
- 3:36Speaker 3: good One, Brady, Jim Brady, Adam Harris Adam. You are
- 3:40Speaker 3: the first member of the Leadership West Virginia class of
- 3:43Speaker 3: twenty fifteen to get a plaque. We'll get a class.
- 3:45Speaker 3: This whole wall is blake. We could do plaques, and
- 3:47Speaker 3: if you know anything at all about the Leadership West
- 3:49Speaker 3: Virginia program, it will say best class ever. Yes, we
- 3:53Speaker 3: are best class average. Even if we're not, we are.
- 3:55Speaker 3: You've been doing man, I'm doing great. Everything's good. Yeah,
- 3:58Speaker 3: that's good. I want to talk about and I do
- 4:02Speaker 3: need to have you that you know, with Rick Rick,
- 4:04Speaker 3: where's two three four five to Maye, He's he's with
- 4:08Speaker 3: the Kanawk Candy Board of Education. I do have a
- 4:09Speaker 3: couple of questions about that, so we'll just ask you.
- 4:12Speaker 3: What we'll do is what have you moved to one
- 4:13Speaker 3: of the other chairs? Yes, when you talk about personalities, yes,
- 4:18Speaker 3: So I do want to ask you about some things
- 4:19Speaker 3: related to the Bard of Education, getting that a little
- 4:21Speaker 3: bit later on, But and I want to start off
- 4:22Speaker 3: with talking about your other job, and that is that
- 4:24Speaker 3: Charleston Urban Works. Sure, and let's talk about the construction's
- 4:28Speaker 3: gone on in Kanaha City. Yeah. Well, first I'll say.
- 4:31Speaker 5: I mean you know that I think I can't want
- 4:33Speaker 5: to talk about our expansion in the Kandos City a
- 4:35Speaker 5: couple of weeks ago. Very exciting sort of new endeavor
- 4:39Speaker 5: for our organization expanding into the Kanaus City District of Charleston.
- 4:43Speaker 5: And I just want to say, uh, this was one
- 4:45Speaker 5: hundred percent made possible through through Mayor Goodwin and her administration,
- 4:49Speaker 5: her office, Councilman Chad Robinson and Counselman Bruce King. We
- 4:54Speaker 5: worked really hard with them and frankly, if it weren't
- 4:57Speaker 5: for their leadership on this and you know, coming to
- 5:00Speaker 5: us and saying, you know, Charleston Earthworks has the infrastructure
- 5:03Speaker 5: to take this on. Is this something that we could do?
- 5:07Speaker 5: And we worked really hard for several months to put
- 5:09Speaker 5: a plan together for this and I got to say
- 5:10Speaker 5: thank you to them, because without them this wouldn't be possible.
- 5:13Speaker 3: What led to that decision to do the expansion to Conegy.
- 5:16Speaker 5: Well, to your original quot to the point of your
- 5:17Speaker 5: original question, I think the construction that had went on,
- 5:19Speaker 5: as you know, for several years.
- 5:21Speaker 3: I think when they started the model ts were driving.
- 5:24Speaker 5: Over there, right, it's what it feels like. Well, and
- 5:26Speaker 5: there's no question that it definitely affected several businesses over there,
- 5:31Speaker 5: and you know, I think that was sort of a catalyst.
- 5:34Speaker 5: But can Alsoy's really never had. They have a great
- 5:36Speaker 5: community association over there, all volunteer led community association that
- 5:40Speaker 5: focuses a lot on the residential aspects. In the past,
- 5:43Speaker 5: they have focused on the main corridor there, the mcorkill
- 5:46Speaker 5: Avenue corridor there. But there definitely is something to be
- 5:50Speaker 5: said about having a full time staff member that is
- 5:51Speaker 5: devoted to business promotion and being sort of a central source,
- 5:56Speaker 5: if you will, for not only business promotion, but recruitment
- 6:00Speaker 5: and be an advocate for the business owners over there.
- 6:03Speaker 3: And I think people forget how much business there actually
- 6:05Speaker 3: is in can also can you give me a I
- 6:07Speaker 3: know that's kind of hard, but can you give me
- 6:09Speaker 3: a ball part fit?
- 6:10Speaker 5: Do you know that there are over three hundred businesses
- 6:13Speaker 5: in Kenall City? That's kind of what I was thinking, yeah,
- 6:15Speaker 5: when we started this, because I've spent as you know,
- 6:17Speaker 5: I've spent so much of my energy on the east
- 6:20Speaker 5: end of the West Side, right, and that's what I've
- 6:22Speaker 5: done now for the past seventeen years in one capacity
- 6:24Speaker 5: or another, and so that's been my focus growing up
- 6:27Speaker 5: in Charleston. Even I didn't realize until we started getting
- 6:29Speaker 5: into this and over three hundred businesses in Kano City.
- 6:32Speaker 3: It's wild. Yeah, that's amazing. Yeah, talking to Rick Cavitar
- 6:35Speaker 3: again from Charleston Urban Works and do what remind you
- 6:38Speaker 3: that older adults to protect themselves against severe respiratory disease,
- 6:41Speaker 3: talk to your doctor about flu, COVID nineteen and RSV vaccines, risk,
- 6:45Speaker 3: lets do more get started Vaccines dot gov paid for
- 6:48Speaker 3: by the US Department of Health and Human Services. So
- 6:51Speaker 3: I'm sure you've heard all the comments and you kind
- 6:52Speaker 3: of alluded this earlier from the business owners over there,
- 6:54Speaker 3: customers that are trying to get to those three hundred
- 6:57Speaker 3: and some odd businesses that are not all of them
- 6:59Speaker 3: are retail businesses, and of course, but people try to
- 7:01Speaker 3: get in and out of there. It's been it's been
- 7:03Speaker 3: kind of a nightmare.
- 7:04Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 7:05Speaker 5: And now, of course, now that the construction is really
- 7:06Speaker 5: wrapping up, I think that this is a great time
- 7:08Speaker 5: to sort of jump in and see what the needs are.
- 7:10Speaker 5: So what really what we're going to be focused on.
- 7:12Speaker 5: And we're we're honing in on hiring our director of
- 7:15Speaker 5: Outreach and Engagement to be the point person over there.
- 7:19Speaker 5: And this person is going to really be focused on
- 7:22Speaker 5: three major things, and that's.
- 7:24Speaker 3: Distributing. We've we've developed a survey.
- 7:26Speaker 5: Already, a district Assessment survey, and that's going to be
- 7:28Speaker 5: asking business owners several questions about what their needs are,
- 7:32Speaker 5: what they would really like to see out their front
- 7:34Speaker 5: door right, what are the best ways that local investments
- 7:39Speaker 5: that are happening, how it can best affect their business
- 7:41Speaker 5: and best help their business. What are some of the
- 7:44Speaker 5: marketing needs that they may need, Advertising needs they may need.
- 7:47Speaker 5: There's several questions on the survey. So we're gonna be
- 7:48Speaker 5: collecting survey data. We're all just gonna be building a foundation.
- 7:51Speaker 5: We have to go through Dave. We have to look
- 7:52Speaker 5: at the maps. We have to collect data for every
- 7:55Speaker 5: commercial parcel there and make sure we have up to
- 7:58Speaker 5: date contact information for every single business owner so we
- 8:00Speaker 5: can reach out to them on a daily basis and
- 8:02Speaker 5: be face to face with them or call them on
- 8:04Speaker 5: the phone, let them know that we're here, let them
- 8:06Speaker 5: know they have any questions, that we are part of
- 8:07Speaker 5: their support system. We're working directly with the City of
- 8:10Speaker 5: Charleston hand in hand to do that, so's that's the
- 8:13Speaker 5: one key aspect. We also want to educate them on
- 8:16Speaker 5: our current programming. We're going to expand our current programming
- 8:18Speaker 5: into the Kanall city area, so that's access to our
- 8:21Speaker 5: facade and signed grant program. We have a grant program.
- 8:23Speaker 5: If you need new signage, if you need new windows
- 8:25Speaker 5: or doors, if you want to esthetically enhance your property somehow,
- 8:29Speaker 5: we will match you a fifty percent of your investment
- 8:31Speaker 5: up to a certain dollar amount as a grant, not
- 8:33Speaker 5: a loan, but a grant. We have those funds available.
- 8:36Speaker 5: We've been using this program for several years now on
- 8:38Speaker 5: the east end of the West Side in downtown. We're
- 8:40Speaker 5: going to be expanding that into Kanall City. We also
- 8:42Speaker 5: will be expanding our new Passport debit card program. We
- 8:45Speaker 5: have a direct partnership with Element Federal Credit Union. I
- 8:47Speaker 5: think I came on and talked about it a few
- 8:48Speaker 5: weeks back. If you if you sign up as a
- 8:51Speaker 5: member at Element Federal Credit Union and you opt to
- 8:54Speaker 5: have the passport debit card, every time you swipe that
- 8:57Speaker 5: card at any of our district businesses, you get two
- 8:59Speaker 5: percent and that money adds up. That is a sure
- 9:02Speaker 5: does That is a very effective shop local initiative that's
- 9:06Speaker 5: growing every single day We're amp We're amping up the
- 9:09Speaker 5: marketing and the promotion for that, and especially when we
- 9:11Speaker 5: get over Kanall City, we're going to be educating all
- 9:13Speaker 5: the business owners on the benefits of being a business
- 9:17Speaker 5: just existing there with our services and hopefully sign up
- 9:20Speaker 5: new members to take advantage of that shop local initiative.
- 9:23Speaker 5: So those are going to be our main focus is
- 9:25Speaker 5: right out the gate. We understand that's going to take
- 9:27Speaker 5: some time and we want to make sure that we're
- 9:28Speaker 5: doing it right. We don't want fifteen sixteen targets out there,
- 9:31Speaker 5: we don't hit any of them. We want to hone
- 9:32Speaker 5: in on three, maybe four major attainable goals and.
- 9:37Speaker 3: Make sure we hit all of them.
- 9:38Speaker 5: And that's really what we're going to be focused on
- 9:39Speaker 5: over there.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Talking to Rick Cavitur from Charleston Urban Works with Dave
- 9:43Speaker 3: aland showing five any line bright toeing part by your
- 9:45Speaker 3: hometown baseball team, the Charleston Dirty Birds, ready for another
- 9:48Speaker 3: great season to go Mark Ballpark this Saturday, joined them
- 9:50Speaker 3: for their spring cleaning yard sales starting at nine in
- 9:53Speaker 3: the morning. Come out to shop, eat and have fun
- 9:55Speaker 3: over twenty five vendors inside the ballpark and all kinds
- 9:58Speaker 3: of great discounts on Dirty Birds year and more. Visit
- 10:00Speaker 3: their Facebook page order dirty Birds baseball dot com. And
- 10:03Speaker 3: that kind of leads me Rick into spring and summer
- 10:06Speaker 3: here in Charleston. Exciting time, I think with the winter
- 10:09Speaker 3: we've had, everybody's looking forward to getting outside and mention
- 10:12Speaker 3: going over to the ballpark. Big busy time for Charleston
- 10:15Speaker 3: Urban Works too. Yeah, we're gearing up.
- 10:17Speaker 5: A matter of fact that you know, as you know,
- 10:19Speaker 5: several Westernior radio stations are sponsors of our two major
- 10:23Speaker 5: events here in Charleston, and that's Phone with the Dome,
- 10:25Speaker 5: which will be coming up in June, June twenty first
- 10:27Speaker 5: on the Kanaal Boulevard right in front of the State Capital.
- 10:30Speaker 5: Tickets will go on sale the second week of April,
- 10:33Speaker 5: so that's coming up really soon. And then of course
- 10:35Speaker 5: in September we have October West and that's over in
- 10:37Speaker 5: the Elk City district of the West Side. So those
- 10:40Speaker 5: are our two major fundraisers of the year. But right
- 10:42Speaker 5: now we're focused on Phone with the Dome. As you
- 10:44Speaker 5: recall last year it was we sold out. It was
- 10:46Speaker 5: the most successful year we had.
- 10:48Speaker 3: As far as an incredible event. Now that's the first
- 10:50Speaker 3: time I had ever worked the event, and I was
- 10:52Speaker 3: there representing our sister station. I think I was there
- 10:54Speaker 3: for the Mountain ninety eight seven, the Mountain Man.
- 10:57Speaker 5: There was a lot of people. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 10:59Speaker 5: We had over to thousand people. And you got to
- 11:01Speaker 5: remember Dave our event. You know, it goes from three
- 11:03Speaker 5: to seven pm. It's over at seven because we want
- 11:06Speaker 5: those folks when they leave our event, we want them
- 11:08Speaker 5: to go out and patronize all the businesses in Charleston.
- 11:10Speaker 5: We want them to stay in the hotels overnight. We
- 11:12Speaker 5: have a lot of folks who travel from out of
- 11:13Speaker 5: state to come to these events, so we want to
- 11:15Speaker 5: give them the best. We want to show the best
- 11:17Speaker 5: that Charleston has to offer whenever we host this really
- 11:21Speaker 5: important fundraiser for our organization. It's also important for the city.
- 11:24Speaker 5: It gets people out into the business districts. They're spending money,
- 11:28Speaker 5: they're going downtown, they're having a great time. We're seeing
- 11:30Speaker 5: live shows after, they're going to the bars, the restaurants
- 11:33Speaker 5: and breweries. We want to get them out in Charleston after.
- 11:36Speaker 5: So yeah, same time this year, three pm to seven pm.
- 11:38Speaker 5: We'll have a VIP hour from three to four early
- 11:41Speaker 5: entry and then of course general admission from four to seven.
- 11:44Speaker 5: All the information will be live on the website at
- 11:47Speaker 5: the very beginning of April at FOAM CWV dot com.
- 11:49Speaker 5: We're really excited at June twenty first.
- 11:51Speaker 3: And we'll have you on plenty of times between now
- 11:52Speaker 3: and then. Talk about that. I had a text here
- 11:54Speaker 3: and I don't know if this is something that you
- 11:55Speaker 3: can answer, but I'm gonna throw it out for you.
- 11:57Speaker 3: Any right i'd have to do with KANAF City, Texas
- 12:00Speaker 3: the road construction Canal City is essentially complete. The sidewalks
- 12:03Speaker 3: are unfinished. What's the hold up unfinishing the sidewalks? Probably
- 12:06Speaker 3: not in.
- 12:07Speaker 5: Yourview, but I thought you that's definitely a doh question.
- 12:11Speaker 5: I will say sidewalks are super important. You know, can
- 12:13Speaker 5: City is an interesting district there because it's you know,
- 12:15Speaker 5: come on, Corporal Avenue is so long, right, I mean,
- 12:18Speaker 5: our stretch that we're gonna be focusing on goes from
- 12:20Speaker 5: the from Memorial Hospital down to the Canal Mall site.
- 12:23Speaker 5: So it's obviously important the pedestrians have safe access to
- 12:27Speaker 5: to walk to and from businesses or from business to
- 12:30Speaker 5: business we obviously, or wherever they're going if they live
- 12:33Speaker 5: in the neighborhood there, definitely important. I'm sure that's being
- 12:37Speaker 5: worked on, but I honestly don't. I don't know, Okay,
- 12:39Speaker 5: I'm not satisy.
- 12:40Speaker 3: Well, well, I mean really, that's not your department, and
- 12:42Speaker 3: we do appreciate the texture, of course, I'll maybe I
- 12:45Speaker 3: tell you that that sounds like a good Chad Robinson question. Yeah,
- 12:48Speaker 3: counsel are you listening? Counselmen? Are you listening? Counselman, counselman Beijing,
- 12:52Speaker 3: all right, I'm gonna ask you to switch gears just
- 12:54Speaker 3: for a moment. You don't have to walk out and
- 12:57Speaker 3: come back in put a hat on. I want to.
- 12:59Speaker 3: I want you to talk just briefly about your role
- 13:02Speaker 3: as the BOE president here in Kanawha County. Let's focus
- 13:09Speaker 3: on the site for the new elementary school Eastern County.
- 13:12Speaker 3: Talking about that a little.
- 13:13Speaker 5: Bit well as you As you recall, back in October,
- 13:15Speaker 5: we voted, which this is never easy, but we we
- 13:18Speaker 5: voted to consolidate for the elementary schools in the eastern
- 13:21Speaker 5: part of the county with the with the promise that
- 13:24Speaker 5: we would build a brand new elementary school that would
- 13:28Speaker 5: serve that entire area. And so we're in the middle
- 13:31Speaker 5: of that process I think right now, still decently early on,
- 13:34Speaker 5: but you know, we're just like I said, we're in
- 13:37Speaker 5: that process. And I think I think the the residents
- 13:40Speaker 5: and the students excuse me, of the eastern part of
- 13:43Speaker 5: the county, certainly students that will be going to this
- 13:45Speaker 5: new school here in the next few years, the next
- 13:47Speaker 5: couple of years, I believe they're gonna be really happy
- 13:50Speaker 5: with the end result there. But of course, you know,
- 13:52Speaker 5: we're pretty early on in that process.
- 13:53Speaker 3: So and the architect I think has been chosen. I
- 13:56Speaker 3: believe so.
- 13:57Speaker 5: Yeah, and I think and I need to get a
- 14:01Speaker 5: status update on that. I don't want to speak out
- 14:03Speaker 5: of turn on that, but but yeah, I mean that's
- 14:05Speaker 5: and that we're following all the normal processes that we
- 14:09Speaker 5: follow when it comes when it comes to this, I mean,
- 14:12Speaker 5: the the ZMM architects and engineers, they had put together
- 14:14Speaker 5: sort of a rendering to show the members of that
- 14:17Speaker 5: community what the school could look like, just sort of
- 14:20Speaker 5: a one pager if you will, just some general renderings
- 14:23Speaker 5: of what it could look like. You know, we definitely
- 14:26Speaker 5: use the example whenever we did Edgewood Elementary, I think
- 14:30Speaker 5: was a really good example of of a school that,
- 14:33Speaker 5: you know, due to consolidations, what a school, what an
- 14:37Speaker 5: elementary elementary school could look like. And you know, they
- 14:40Speaker 5: do great work and I'm I'm excited for that for
- 14:43Speaker 5: the folks in the the eastern part of the county. Again,
- 14:45Speaker 5: we never, we never want to consolidate. This past October
- 14:49Speaker 5: was rough for a lot of the folks out there
- 14:50Speaker 5: in the eastern part of the county, and we totally
- 14:52Speaker 5: understand that we never want to do that, but this
- 14:55Speaker 5: was definitely something that you know, for us to stay
- 14:57Speaker 5: the good stewards of the tax dollars of the residence
- 15:00Speaker 5: of Canall County is something we just had to do.
- 15:02Speaker 5: And so the good news is we'll have a good
- 15:04Speaker 5: result from it.
- 15:05Speaker 3: All right, all right, because I got a text going
- 15:08Speaker 3: back to your other job for a moment. Seats again,
- 15:12Speaker 3: switch seats again. The text says, I know we had
- 15:15Speaker 3: the East End yard sale, but with the city, please
- 15:17Speaker 3: consider another one along the boulevard during the regatta. Seems
- 15:20Speaker 3: like a perfect topic.
- 15:21Speaker 5: Well, I mean, keep in mind me, the City of
- 15:23Speaker 5: Charleston doesn't directly spawn like they don't produce those events
- 15:27Speaker 5: like the Eastern yard Sale. Now that we used to
- 15:30Speaker 5: do the yard sale, we gave that over to the
- 15:31Speaker 5: Eastern Community Association. Fully they're doing that now. They've done
- 15:34Speaker 5: a great job with it and they're doing their planning
- 15:35Speaker 5: it again for this year. So you know that again,
- 15:38Speaker 5: the city Charleston typically doesn't just like you know, host
- 15:40Speaker 5: those types of events. They definitely sponsored them. They helped
- 15:43Speaker 5: us with them absolutely, and we couldn't do it without them.
- 15:47Speaker 5: But that's it.
- 15:48Speaker 3: Sounds like a great idea. But I'm not.
- 15:50Speaker 5: On the regatta Commission. So I don't think I should
- 15:51Speaker 5: be answering that question.
- 15:55Speaker 3: You're a popular guy today because I have another question,
- 15:58Speaker 3: and this one goes back to the right. I'm going
- 16:01Speaker 3: to go back out for a second. What what Texas?
- 16:05Speaker 3: What is your opinion about Does he think BOE districts
- 16:11Speaker 3: would be better than fifty five county boe.
- 16:14Speaker 5: That's a that's a that's a great question. So you know,
- 16:16Speaker 5: we are one of the few states left. I believe
- 16:18Speaker 5: that our solely county school system county board boards of Education, right,
- 16:24Speaker 5: each county has its own separate board. We're one of
- 16:26Speaker 5: the few states left that operates like that. I think
- 16:28Speaker 5: as a matter of fact, I think you have talked
- 16:30Speaker 5: about this on air before, you know, I mean, I
- 16:32Speaker 5: think that there is there room for more efficiency statewide. Sure, absolutely,
- 16:38Speaker 5: But there's a lot to consider when it comes to,
- 16:41Speaker 5: you know, switching to sort of a school district format
- 16:44Speaker 5: versus the way we have it now. As you know,
- 16:48Speaker 5: we were just talking about property TAXI excuse me, property
- 16:50Speaker 5: taxes and how those are levied and all that. There's
- 16:54Speaker 5: a lot of discussions on the technical side, on the
- 16:56Speaker 5: financial side that need to happen.
- 16:57Speaker 3: I think a.
- 16:59Speaker 5: Lot of considerations and would need to be made in
- 17:01Speaker 5: my opinion, before we could just switch to a school
- 17:03Speaker 5: district system. I do believe there are benefits to that
- 17:06Speaker 5: when it comes to socio economics, when it comes to
- 17:09Speaker 5: the geographic aspect of it, there are benefits to it.
- 17:11Speaker 5: But there's just a lot to consider when you've been
- 17:13Speaker 5: set up as a county doork system for over one
- 17:16Speaker 5: hundred and some years now.
- 17:17Speaker 3: So, Man, you didn't know you were just going. I
- 17:20Speaker 3: think the new studio has got more people listening. It's
- 17:23Speaker 3: it's well and it's stimulating my brain too. And these
- 17:26Speaker 3: are great questions, by the way, This is good all right, Rick,
- 17:29Speaker 3: I appreciate you man as always. So we'll see. It's
- 17:31Speaker 3: always a big events going on around town. All the
- 17:33Speaker 3: radio stations are looking forward to being involved in it.
- 17:35Speaker 3: Were Yes, we're actually going to be this weekend over
- 17:38Speaker 3: at the extravaganza lately Field. Yeah, that's right, Quantum and
- 17:42Speaker 3: those folks, all of our stations.
- 17:43Speaker 5: And then when they drop like all the eggs from
- 17:45Speaker 5: the from the sky back in the day, they used
- 17:47Speaker 5: to drop like thousands.
- 17:48Speaker 3: Of probably not with liability issues, Okay, you can do that. Yeah,
- 17:51Speaker 3: probably not a good idea. But we'll all be over there,
- 17:54Speaker 3: so maybe you can stop mind seeing that lady. That's
- 17:56Speaker 3: great weather. It looks great this weekend. As I said,
- 17:57Speaker 3: all of our stations will be there. Rick cavin Or,

- 21:27Speaker 3: You probably I don't know if you heard this what
- 21:29Speaker 3: I said. I was talking about Rick Cavander wearing so
- 21:31Speaker 3: many hats, and he referenced a Batman character and I'm
- 21:37Speaker 3: not a superhero kind of guy. And it was two
- 21:40Speaker 3: face was what he was talking about. Because you know,
- 21:42Speaker 3: he's with Urban Work saying with the BOE and we
- 21:45Speaker 3: had questions today that were for both. So I kept
- 21:48Speaker 3: having him, you know, go back and forth between the two,
- 21:50Speaker 3: and he referenced that means because I said, and this
- 21:53Speaker 3: is what the text are saying. I said, the only
- 21:55Speaker 3: Batman that I recognize is Adam West.
- 21:59Speaker 10: Well, no, I'd have to go with Michael Keaton. But
- 22:02Speaker 10: I also I would also make the argument that, well,
- 22:06Speaker 10: two faces technically only wore one hack because he was
- 22:08Speaker 10: just one person. He just had two sides of a
- 22:11Speaker 10: bad face.
- 22:12Speaker 3: I have no idea what you're talking about. He realized
- 22:14Speaker 3: that right comic book Nurdery. How's it going, man, Oh,
- 22:18Speaker 3: it's it's going.
- 22:20Speaker 10: I mean today, Look, we're a week out from crossover day.
- 22:23Speaker 10: That's the very last day that bill's a House bill
- 22:28Speaker 10: has to be passed to go over to the Senate
- 22:30Speaker 10: and vice versa. So we're a week out from that,
- 22:33Speaker 10: and then Saturday, we will be two weeks out from
- 22:35Speaker 10: the end of the twenty twenty five legislative session, though,
- 22:39Speaker 10: unless Governor Patrick Morrissey decides to call everyone back in
- 22:43Speaker 10: because he keeps threatening special sessions.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Yeah, and I alluded to that earlier. He put out
- 22:47Speaker 3: a release yesterday and I likened it on my social
- 22:50Speaker 3: media as to summer detention. Basically, he's basically saying, if
- 22:53Speaker 3: you don't get your work done, you're gonna have to
- 22:55Speaker 3: come back in over the summer.
- 22:56Speaker 10: It's the breakfast club. I don't get Look, I had hoped. Look,
- 23:01Speaker 10: there was a lot of pressure early on from the administration.
- 23:04Speaker 10: I've written about it, others written about it, particularly on
- 23:06Speaker 10: Certificate need repeal and on other things. Certainly, for sure,
- 23:12Speaker 10: I had kept I kept waiting to see if their
- 23:14Speaker 10: tactics would change, whether they would stop doing kind of
- 23:17Speaker 10: the aggressive tactics they were doing with lawmakers to try
- 23:21Speaker 10: the strong arm them and the supporting some of these things.
- 23:24Speaker 10: But I don't think they've learned anything during this entire period,
- 23:28Speaker 10: and I just don't think threatening lawmakers. Of course, this
- 23:31Speaker 10: came a day after the House voted down the Governor's
- 23:35Speaker 10: vaccine exemption bill, and of course it had gone through
- 23:38Speaker 10: a lot of changes between the Sun and the House.
- 23:40Speaker 10: But that attitude, How's that going to get anybody on
- 23:44Speaker 10: board for what you want to do, especially in the House.
- 23:46Speaker 10: This is a group that was not afraid a few
- 23:49Speaker 10: years ago to light up a voting board one hundred
- 23:53Speaker 10: read to give a message to Governor Jim Justice over
- 23:56Speaker 10: one of the tax reform things. So I mean I
- 23:59Speaker 10: don't get it.
- 24:00Speaker 3: Yeah. I think TJ actually alluded to that on social media,
- 24:04Speaker 3: may have done it on the air as well. Yeah,
- 24:05Speaker 3: I mean, so just he might want to keep that
- 24:07Speaker 3: in mind. Talking about that vaccine bill for a moment,
- 24:10Speaker 3: we talked about that nausea in the last couple of days.
- 24:12Speaker 3: Were you surprised by the number of changes and the
- 24:14Speaker 3: number of flips that happened on that between Friday and Monday.
- 24:17Speaker 10: Well, I mean, I didn't want to make any predictions.
- 24:19Speaker 10: I had a suspicion something would happen, especially since Friday.
- 24:25Speaker 10: You know, there was an emotion made to suspend the rules,
- 24:30Speaker 10: the constitutional rules that require bills to be read on
- 24:32Speaker 10: three separate days, because the vaccine bill was only on
- 24:35Speaker 10: second reading Friday, but they were going to at least
- 24:37Speaker 10: make an attempt to go ahead and move it the
- 24:40Speaker 10: third reading once they got through with the amendments and
- 24:42Speaker 10: pass it last Friday. They didn't have the votes needed.
- 24:45Speaker 10: You needed about four fifths of members present, I believed
- 24:48Speaker 10: to do that, and they just didn't meet that threshold.
- 24:50Speaker 10: So that meant that it would be taken up Monday,
- 24:53Speaker 10: so you've had all weekend for supporters, opponents, the wark,
- 24:58Speaker 10: the phones right there, lawmakers call, text you, let them
- 25:03Speaker 10: know how you feel. A lot of heavy lobbying went
- 25:05Speaker 10: on over the weekend. I suspect that bill might have
- 25:08Speaker 10: passed with the religious exception Friday had they been able
- 25:11Speaker 10: to suspend the rules, because I think they just wanted
- 25:13Speaker 10: to get off their plate. But I think with the
- 25:15Speaker 10: weekend people were able to sway people to vote against
- 25:20Speaker 10: it on Monday.
- 25:21Speaker 3: There's a lot of phone calls and texting that went
- 25:23Speaker 3: on over the weekend. I promise you, Oh yeah, and
- 25:25Speaker 3: that's what happened.
- 25:25Speaker 10: I talked to somebody Sunday close to this issue had
- 25:28Speaker 10: told me that there could be as many at that
- 25:30Speaker 10: point of eight votes that could flip to the nay column.
- 25:34Speaker 10: And that's pretty close to what happened Monday. So I'm
- 25:38Speaker 10: not surprised. But also I you know, I don't ever
- 25:40Speaker 10: want to predict the future, and I didn't want to
- 25:42Speaker 10: jinx it or anything, so it wouldn't surprise me if
- 25:45Speaker 10: we've gone either way. Nobody really knew.
- 25:48Speaker 3: Talking to Stephen Allen Adams from Ogden Newspapers with Dave

- 26:04Speaker 3: and Milton business snap fitness dot Com talk about this
- 26:07Speaker 3: relationship between this governor Stephen, Governor Morrissey and the legislature
- 26:12Speaker 3: because you know, and you and I've talked about it
- 26:15Speaker 3: and others have as well. Patrick Morrissey is a completely
- 26:18Speaker 3: different kind of governor than Jim Justice. Not better, not worse,
- 26:21Speaker 3: just different. Every governor's got different personalities. Morrissey, I think,
- 26:25Speaker 3: came in and he said, I'm going to be a
- 26:28Speaker 3: hands on governor. I'm going to be there. I'm actually
- 26:30Speaker 3: going to live in the mansion. You're actually going to
- 26:32Speaker 3: see me there. Maybe for the previous eight years some
- 26:37Speaker 3: of the members and the legislature, I mean, let's be honest,
- 26:39Speaker 3: and there's a lot of the members have changed, but
- 26:41Speaker 3: maybe over the last eight years they kind of got
- 26:43Speaker 3: this attitude, Well, the Governor's not going to be an
- 26:46Speaker 3: active part. I think Governor Morrissey has proven that he's good,
- 26:50Speaker 3: that he is the exact opposite. But he's had Stephen,
- 26:53Speaker 3: with all due respect, he's had a couple of pretty
- 26:55Speaker 3: big defeats. Yeah, oh yeah.
- 26:57Speaker 10: I mean obviously, first one being Certificate Need Repeal being
- 27:01Speaker 10: voted down in committee, and that was a big priority
- 27:04Speaker 10: of his.
- 27:05Speaker 3: That was one of the first bills.
- 27:06Speaker 10: They wanted that to be the first bill that was
- 27:09Speaker 10: even taken up in a committee in the legislature. That
- 27:12Speaker 10: didn't happen. They ended up doing the vaccine bill. But
- 27:15Speaker 10: let's go to that again. That's another defeat for the governor, who,
- 27:19Speaker 10: if you read his statement following the defeat of that,
- 27:23Speaker 10: kind of blamed the legislature to an extent, made the
- 27:27Speaker 10: argument that, well, our bill was vastly different than what
- 27:29Speaker 10: the legislature ended up doing. If they had stuck afarest,
- 27:33Speaker 10: then it would have got over the finish line. But
- 27:35Speaker 10: obviously that's not the case. So sure, you got a
- 27:38Speaker 10: couple big losses. Now, you know, he can point to
- 27:41Speaker 10: some other things, such as the Riley Gains Act defining
- 27:45Speaker 10: men and Women's Stake Code. That's certainly a victory for him.
- 27:50Speaker 10: The Food Die Bill, which is not one of his bills,
- 27:53Speaker 10: but certainly something he's trying to kind of do a
- 27:56Speaker 10: touchdown dance on too and try to get some of
- 27:58Speaker 10: the national attention, particularly from the group's part of MAHA
- 28:02Speaker 10: move and make them America healthy again. But this relationship
- 28:05Speaker 10: is just not getting better. And I do see some
- 28:08Speaker 10: some of a lot of the focus has been on
- 28:10Speaker 10: the House Republicans in their relationship. I mean, you're starting
- 28:13Speaker 10: to see some frame I think a little bit on
- 28:15Speaker 10: the Senate side too. I mean, look at what happened
- 28:17Speaker 10: with Senator Rupy Phillips and to kind of blow up
- 28:21Speaker 10: that he had on the Flora talking about not getting
- 28:24Speaker 10: a meeting, calling Morrisey the man from New Jersey.
- 28:27Speaker 3: I got a text about that go ahead, yeah.
- 28:29Speaker 10: And then back and forth, you know, from his communications director,
- 28:32Speaker 10: you know, saying well, you're just a former Democrat, as
- 28:34Speaker 10: if that's a slam for southern West Virginia. You know
- 28:37Speaker 10: how many people or former Democrats that are now Republicans.
- 28:40Speaker 3: In the area. I can say this in my native
- 28:42Speaker 3: land of Logan County. I think I think as far
- 28:45Speaker 3: as elected officials go, I think there is one Democrat
- 28:48Speaker 3: left and they all I mean, I'm sorry, there yeah,
- 28:51Speaker 3: one Democrat. Yeah, one Democrat, and ay all the everybody
- 28:56Speaker 3: else will switched to Republican. I think I may be wrong.
- 28:59Speaker 10: Yeah, correct, I looked at the voter registration on that
- 29:01Speaker 10: for a moment. I know it's pretty close to finally
- 29:04Speaker 10: flipping down there. But not only that, Morrissey lost the
- 29:07Speaker 10: Republican primaries in the same counties that Phillips represents. If
- 29:13Speaker 10: you look, I mean, he didn't even come in second
- 29:15Speaker 10: in some of those counties. He came in third. So
- 29:18Speaker 10: I don't know. Picking a fight with Rupy Phillips just
- 29:20Speaker 10: because Rupy wanted to have a meeting between you utility
- 29:23Speaker 10: companies and the PSC, I don't know if that's a
- 29:26Speaker 10: smart move. So again, like just this aggressiveness toward Republican lawmakers,
- 29:32Speaker 10: They're probably going to be there when you're gone. I
- 29:35Speaker 10: would find a different tact. I'm urging them to find
- 29:37Speaker 10: a different tact with this legislature. With just over two
- 29:40Speaker 10: weeks left.
- 29:41Speaker 3: As a member of the Press Corps, how have you
- 29:44Speaker 3: found the Morrisy administration to be to work with?
- 29:46Speaker 10: Frankly great, I mean that's what I'm hearing too, Yeah,
- 29:49Speaker 10: oh great. I mean that's the thing is that as
- 29:52Speaker 10: a relationship to or having with the legislature to some extent.
- 29:55Speaker 10: I mean, their relationship with the press has been fantastic.
- 29:58Speaker 10: Both Alex Lamford, Coney Drew Gilang, which are their communications
- 30:02Speaker 10: team over there, are very responsive. They're they're they're very good.
- 30:07Speaker 3: Uh.
- 30:07Speaker 10: And the governor himself. I mean, I can't tell you
- 30:11Speaker 10: how many times I have bumped into the governor uh
- 30:13Speaker 10: in the session, either in a hallway or or outside,
- 30:16Speaker 10: you know, between the capital and the governor's mansion, and
- 30:19Speaker 10: he'll sit there and talk to you. You talked to
- 30:21Speaker 10: you off the record about some stuff or whatnot. And
- 30:24Speaker 10: the press conferences have been good. He takes follow up questions,
- 30:27Speaker 10: He takes multiple follow up questions. I do think the
- 30:29Speaker 10: relationship has been better with the press. So they need
- 30:33Speaker 10: maybe to take that the lessons they're learning from that
- 30:35Speaker 10: maybe apply it to the legislature as well. What you're
- 30:38Speaker 10: taking a look at today, Uh, today, I'm kind of
- 30:41Speaker 10: trying to take a look at some of these energy bills.
- 30:44Speaker 10: You got Center Bill five oh five, which puts it
- 30:46Speaker 10: together kind of complicated formula for trying to determine reliability
- 30:52Speaker 10: and when coal companies or utilities use coal and things
- 30:55Speaker 10: of that nature. There's these proponents think that's going to
- 30:58Speaker 10: save some money. Opponents seem to think that it will
- 31:02Speaker 10: have the opposite the fact and could raise prices and
- 31:04Speaker 10: right payers. The same goes for that microgrid bill. That's
- 31:07Speaker 10: House Bill twenty fourteen, which has inside of a requirement
- 31:11Speaker 10: for cold utility companies to keep their company coal plants
- 31:15Speaker 10: going at sixty nine percent capacity factor. That sounds good,
- 31:19Speaker 10: but also could that actually have a reverse effect and
- 31:23Speaker 10: raise prices for a pair. So that's what I'm kind
- 31:25Speaker 10: of looking at today. Was there a DEI thing coming today?
- 31:28Speaker 10: There's a couple DEI things moving. I think the House
- 31:32Speaker 10: has its own bill and I think these are governor's
- 31:35Speaker 10: bills to do way with diversity equity inclusion within state code,
- 31:41Speaker 10: though I don't know how much that's really in state
- 31:43Speaker 10: code anyway, but the bills are moving. Nonetheless, I think
- 31:45Speaker 10: the Senate may have it on second or third reading today.
- 31:49Speaker 3: All right, Ryan people, where they can check you out?
- 31:52Speaker 10: Yeah, Partners reducing Sentinel Wheeling, Intelligenser News, register to Weird

- 44:18Speaker 3: and I talked about this earlier. Folks like Brad and
- 44:20Speaker 3: Stephen and Million Nicely and others will be working well
- 44:23Speaker 3: into the night, sometimes into the overnight hours. Lead story
- 44:25Speaker 3: this morning wv Metro News dot com. SB seven oh
- 44:29Speaker 3: five is on track for passage, possibly today. Now, the
- 44:32Speaker 3: House has passed its own version of the bill, and
- 44:35Speaker 3: that was HB twenty seven to fifty five. So, as
- 44:38Speaker 3: Brad's story points out, for this to become law, legislators
- 44:42Speaker 3: would need to line up the two bills before the
- 44:44Speaker 3: session is over. Now, this all has to do with
- 44:47Speaker 3: the legislature having the ultimate authority over educational rules, saying
- 44:54Speaker 3: that any new rules would have to be submitted for
- 44:57Speaker 3: legislative review. Now we're talking about things on the local level.
- 45:01Speaker 3: It would have to be for review, approval, amendment, or rejection. Now, specifically,
- 45:06Speaker 3: the bill wouldn't require the state Board of Education to
- 45:11Speaker 3: submit new rules to a legislative rule making review committee. Now,
- 45:16Speaker 3: as Brad points out, the US Department of Education is
- 45:19Speaker 3: due to be gutted, and that's if the President and
- 45:23Speaker 3: Elon Musk have their way completely done away with. People
- 45:26Speaker 3: on both sides of the aisle, though, seem to have
- 45:29Speaker 3: issues with this whole thing on a West Virginia level.
- 45:34Speaker 3: One of those is Senator Amy Nicole Grady out of
- 45:37Speaker 3: Mason County, herself a teacher by trade and the Senate
- 45:41Speaker 3: Education chairwoman. She's quoted in Brad's story as reminding everyone
- 45:46Speaker 3: that voters rejected a constitutional amendment that would have given
- 45:50Speaker 3: the legislature of the authority to review and to approve
- 45:54Speaker 3: the state boards rules and policies. Now that amendment was
- 45:58Speaker 3: voted down by the people fifty eight to forty two percent.
- 46:03Speaker 3: And that is the essence of the comments as I
- 46:08Speaker 3: read them in Brad's story from Senator Grady said while
- 46:11Speaker 3: she was in favor of the amendment when it was
- 46:13Speaker 3: on the general election ballot in twenty twenty two, quote,
- 46:16Speaker 3: I was in favor of the constitutional amendment when it
- 46:19Speaker 3: was on the ballot, and the voters voted down. So
- 46:22Speaker 3: I guess I'm against the bill for that reason. I
- 46:25Speaker 3: feel like it circumvents the process of what we put
- 46:27Speaker 3: in front of voters, and I think it sends the
- 46:30Speaker 3: wrong message. It tells the voters, we think you got
- 46:33Speaker 3: it wrong and we want to do it our way.
- 46:35Speaker 3: And I'm not in favor of the bill for that reason.
- 46:38Speaker 3: In quote those comments from Amy Nicole Grady, State school
- 46:42Speaker 3: board member Paul Hardesty has gone on record as not
- 46:46Speaker 3: supporting the bill. And the reason that I bring all
- 46:50Speaker 3: this up to quote Senator Justice, who was on Metro
- 46:54Speaker 3: News Middays show yesterday, it's just this, Is it just me?
- 47:01Speaker 3: Or have you noticed? And I have talked about this
- 47:04Speaker 3: a little bit before. Does it seem like many members
- 47:09Speaker 3: of the Republican Party, long known as the party of
- 47:13Speaker 3: smaller government in many instances, want to have more things
- 47:18Speaker 3: controlled from Charleston. The whole thing about doing away with
- 47:23Speaker 3: the federal Department of Education. I get the argument, not
- 47:26Speaker 3: saying I totally agree with it, because I really haven't
- 47:29Speaker 3: studied it quite as much as I should, but at
- 47:31Speaker 3: least I get the argument, all right, send the power
- 47:34Speaker 3: back to the states and to a certain extent of
- 47:37Speaker 3: a local level. But this isn't exactly what it seems
- 47:40Speaker 3: that some Republican lawmakers want to do. With a lot
- 47:44Speaker 3: of the legislation we've seen over the last couple of years,
- 47:48Speaker 3: many want Charleston, many of the capital city, to have
- 47:50Speaker 3: more control. And someone would have to do a really
- 47:55Speaker 3: good sales job on me to tell me that that's
- 47:59Speaker 3: a good idea, And I wonder I just wonder for
- 48:03Speaker 3: the sake come wondering if the Republicans thought the same
- 48:06Speaker 3: way when the Democrats controlled the state for over eighty years.
- 48:12Speaker 3: Things that make you go hmm, And along those same lines.
- 48:15Speaker 3: Amelia Nicely off West Virginia Watch did some good reporting
- 48:18Speaker 3: on this. Going back to Monday, there were some pretty
- 48:20Speaker 3: passionate debate in the Senate, and the bill in question
- 48:24Speaker 3: was ultimately passed. Some cities anti discrimination ordinances could be
- 48:29Speaker 3: overturned by you guessed it, Charleston. One of those speaking
- 48:33Speaker 3: out was a Republican Senator Ryan Welderbrook County, whom I'm
- 48:37Speaker 3: sure would now be a labeled a rhino or a gasp,
- 48:40Speaker 3: but Chamber of Commerce Republican. He called it dumb. And
- 48:44Speaker 3: they're around twenty cities or so around the state that
- 48:47Speaker 3: have passed anti discrimination laws. The Senate Bills five seventy nine.
- 48:51Speaker 3: It would also prohibit cities that take part in the
- 48:54Speaker 3: home rule programs from establishing non discrimination policies.
- 48:58Speaker 11: Now.
- 48:58Speaker 3: Another Republican, Brian Helton of Fayette County, also spoke out
- 49:02Speaker 3: against it. The whole Home rule thing came into being
- 49:06Speaker 3: back in two thousand and seven, and it basically allows
- 49:08Speaker 3: eligible cities to adopt various ordinances separate from state law
- 49:13Speaker 3: as long as they don't conflict with the US Constitution,
- 49:16Speaker 3: and a few other guardrails that have been put in place.
- 49:19Speaker 3: As Amelia's story points out, Tom Takubo, another Republican he
- 49:24Speaker 3: of course, represents primarily the Charleston South Charleston areas here
- 49:29Speaker 3: both of those cities have enacted anti discrimination measures and
- 49:33Speaker 3: again more examples in my opinion of Charleston thinking everything
- 49:38Speaker 3: should run out of out of there. But Dave Island
- 49:43Speaker 3: showing five eighty live is brought to you part by
- 49:45Speaker 3: Bridge Valley offering custom tailored it training of all types,
- 49:49Speaker 3: all kinds of training, as matter of fact, supplies code
- 49:51Speaker 3: graduates and apprenticeship for your company. Visit Bridge Valley dot
- 49:54Speaker 3: e du tex sive day, going to start doing my
- 50:00Speaker 3: grocery shopping across the state line of Kentucky and Ohio.
- 50:05Speaker 3: You ban the dies and we go somewhere else to shop.
- 50:09Speaker 3: And it's that simple, says a Texter. That is that's
- 50:14Speaker 3: a that's a concern. We talked about that on the
- 50:16Speaker 3: Metro News midday show yesterday. That is a big time
- 50:19Speaker 3: concern that people will just go somewhere else to do
- 50:21Speaker 3: their to do their shopping because West Virginia, you know,
- 50:25Speaker 3: I mean if you wanted, and I'm not I'm not
- 50:27Speaker 3: saying that you should leave West Virginia to go shopping.
- 50:29Speaker 3: But if you want to go to Ohio from here,
- 50:33Speaker 3: if you go you know, sixty four to go to
- 50:35Speaker 3: Huntington or whatever, you can be there in about an hour.
- 50:37Speaker 3: You know, maybe you can cross over into South Point
- 50:40Speaker 3: or someplace like that a little over an hour. If
- 50:42Speaker 3: you want to go to Kentucky if you go, depending
- 50:45Speaker 3: on which way you go, you know, hour and a
- 50:47Speaker 3: half maybe. And our border counties and the ones that
- 50:51Speaker 3: border uh, Pennsylvania and Maryland could be the same. I'm
- 50:55Speaker 3: not I'm not advocating that, folks. I am just saying
- 50:58Speaker 3: it possibly could happened. Texas. Do you affirm Adam West
- 51:07Speaker 3: is the mayor of quah Hog. I have no idea
- 51:10Speaker 3: what when you start talking about things like that, Ryan did,
- 51:13Speaker 3: what does that mean? Do you have any idea what
- 51:14Speaker 3: that means? I don't. I'm sorry I caught Ryan off
- 51:17Speaker 3: guard our producer there. I don't know what that means
- 51:19Speaker 3: because I'm not a person that really follows that kind
- 51:22Speaker 3: of stuff. So Ryan's working to I'm sorry. I really
- 51:27Speaker 3: put you on the spot there, buddy, I'm sorry. What
- 51:30Speaker 3: does that mean? Ryan? Okay? So now remember we only
- 51:33Speaker 3: have like a minute, so okay, I'll be real quick.
- 51:37Speaker 12: So you know that funny show on TV called Family.
- 51:40Speaker 3: Guy and didn't watch it? Okay? So I tried.
- 51:42Speaker 12: Adam West had a long running role in that show
- 51:45Speaker 12: as the mayor of co Hog, which is the city
- 51:47Speaker 12: it takes place.
- 51:48Speaker 3: And Yeah, as much as I like rude, crude craft
- 51:52Speaker 3: and offensive humor, I tried Family Guy one time. Man,
- 51:55Speaker 3: it just wasn't for me.
- 51:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 51:57Speaker 12: I think the early seasons are nice.
- 51:59Speaker 3: It's I think it suffers from what a lot of
- 52:02Speaker 3: shows have, which is it gets derivative as it goes on.
- 52:06Speaker 3: All right, I mean, knock out a text here, Texas, Dave.
- 52:09Speaker 3: If we're talking about the old Democratic Party ConTroll then yes,
- 52:12Speaker 3: the insane activist Democrats in DC now know state control
- 52:16Speaker 3: is the only way to take back our kids' hearts
- 52:18Speaker 3: and minds from the Marxist mindset they are being fed.
- 52:22Speaker 3: All right, got that final text in there? Thank you
- 52:24Speaker 3: so much to Rick Cavne from the Knau County Warden
- 52:26Speaker 3: of Education. In Charleston Urban Works and Stephen Allen Adams
- 52:29Speaker 3: two those boys at the Capitol. Maybe they got upset
- 52:31Speaker 3: because I referred to them as Lendy and Squiggy, and
- 52:34Speaker 3: a text referred to them as Vivis and butt Head.
- 52:36Speaker 3: And knowing those guys, they would take both of them
- 52:38Speaker 3: as compliments. All right. Wilson Meadows coming up with talk
