Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, well, we are about to celebrate two hundred
- 0:02Speaker 1: and fifty years of America to fifty of America. However,
- 0:10Speaker 1: to start the week leading into year to fifty, Scotus
- 0:15Speaker 1: tells us, hey, you know what the Dems already have
- 0:19Speaker 1: as early voting. Now let's have late counting. That's right.
- 0:25Speaker 1: In a ruling today, the Supreme Court saying that ballots
- 0:32Speaker 1: marked I guess for election day but sent after could
- 0:37Speaker 1: still be counted days after. It's let me break it
- 0:41Speaker 1: down for you exactly how it is, because when I
- 0:44Speaker 1: first heard something of Mike Gallagher show, you know, col
- 0:48Speaker 1: screening for them, I was a little mystified, a little mystified.
- 0:57Speaker 1: But late arriving mail in ballots, according to scotus blog,
- 1:01Speaker 1: says just over four months before twenty twenty six midterm elections.
- 1:06Speaker 1: The Supreme Court on Monday upheld a Mississippi law that
- 1:09Speaker 1: allows mail and ballots to be counted as long as
- 1:13Speaker 1: they are postmarked by and received within five days of
- 1:17Speaker 1: election day. By a vote of five to four. The
- 1:20Speaker 1: justices in Watson Vie Republican National Committee rejected an argument
- 1:25Speaker 1: made by the political parties and others challenging the law.
- 1:29Speaker 1: The federal law requires mail in ballots to be received
- 1:32Speaker 1: by election day. Now why wouldn't that be the case.
- 1:42Speaker 1: It's election day, you have early voting a week out.
- 1:47Speaker 1: If your staff, your polling places can't get the vote
- 1:51Speaker 1: the ballots there by election day, something's wrong. Something is wrong.
- 1:57Speaker 1: And I don't think the founding fathers in year two
- 2:02Speaker 1: fifty would be too happy with this. You voted, you
- 2:08Speaker 1: vote on election day. The early voting came in because
- 2:11Speaker 1: of COVID and all that, and I understand that it
- 2:13Speaker 1: lingered six years later. But now they're saying, well, if
- 2:19Speaker 1: it comes in after election day, as long as it's postmarked,
- 2:25Speaker 1: we're gonna count it. That will dragon results for weeks,
- 2:31Speaker 1: if not days. Election Day when I was growing up,
- 2:37Speaker 1: was one day, one day in November every year, whether
- 2:43Speaker 1: it was new, municipal, federal, statewide, one day and hey,
- 2:49Speaker 1: we got results that night. Do you know the twenty
- 2:53Speaker 1: twenty election that I remember wasn't decided till that Saturday
- 3:00Speaker 1: or Sunday that Saturday wheneverbody was having parties and dance
- 3:05Speaker 1: parties because Biden got elected. Now, be honest, I did
- 3:10Speaker 1: vote for Biden that twenty twenty and I'm upfront about that,
- 3:15Speaker 1: because I did not like the way Trump was going
- 3:17Speaker 1: in that first term. But anyway, the votes waited, the
- 3:25Speaker 1: count was till Saturday, till Saturday. Election day was Tuesday
- 3:31Speaker 1: of that week, and you wonder what happens in the
- 3:35Speaker 1: counting process. I think we should all be for election integrity.
- 3:41Speaker 1: And I think the integrity is you make the early voting, okay,
- 3:45Speaker 1: but don't make Lake County. Don't make it early vote
- 3:50Speaker 1: late count because I that he's for ADS. Further suspicion
- 3:55Speaker 1: that something's going on now to add to this craziness,
- 3:59Speaker 1: that election is an election day anymore. It seems like
- 4:03Speaker 1: are scar of a mayor? Okay, he seems like scar
- 4:08Speaker 1: mayrimum Donnie seems like creepy with a smile and whatever.
- 4:17Speaker 1: He said this to John Carrow yesterday on ABC News.
- 4:21Speaker 1: You have to hear this. Can a democratic socialists get
- 4:25Speaker 1: elected president? I think a democratic socialist can get elected
- 4:28Speaker 1: anywhere across this country for any position. Are you going
- 4:31Speaker 1: to accept that that Democratic socialists can now win in
- 4:37Speaker 1: any part of the country, in any office. He's, of
- 4:41Speaker 1: course touting his three wins last week. And I told
- 4:45Speaker 1: you already I don't want brad Lander in that House
- 4:47Speaker 1: of Representatives. Look, the other two are a symptom of
- 4:52Speaker 1: what's happening. But brad Lander, we can. We need to
- 4:55Speaker 1: vote him out in November. Maybe the vote all count
- 4:59Speaker 1: by then or not, I don't know. But anyway, that
- 5:02Speaker 1: comment alone from a mayor that, by the way, is
- 5:06Speaker 1: playing on celebrating year to fifty offering one hundred thousand
- 5:09Speaker 1: tickets to the fireworks, which is cool, it's a tradition
- 5:14Speaker 1: for the mayor's office to do that. But in year
- 5:16Speaker 1: two fifty he thinks the Democratic socialists can get elected anywhere.
- 5:22Speaker 1: And that's frightening. That should be frightening to all because
- 5:31Speaker 1: socialism doesn't work. Communism doesn't work. This country wasn't built
- 5:35Speaker 1: on socialism or communism. It was built on yes, capitalism,
- 5:41Speaker 1: but also life, liberty in dependent and pursuit of happiness.
- 5:47Speaker 1: And it's scary that he thinks that in a week
- 5:51Speaker 1: where we should be honoring America and the founding ideals
- 5:55Speaker 1: of America. But on top of all this news where
- 6:01Speaker 1: you have a scout is saying, and I guess Amy
- 6:05Speaker 1: Coney Barrett was the lead of this saying, oh well,
- 6:10Speaker 1: votes can count and be counted after election day. Yeah
- 6:14Speaker 1: they might they're postmark election day, but things can be
- 6:17Speaker 1: shuffled around between then and then and then and then.
- 6:21Speaker 1: This guy I'm Donnie saying a socialist Democratic socialists could
- 6:24Speaker 1: be you know, anywhere, voted in anywhere, and especially president.
- 6:30Speaker 1: It's scary times. Those are scary times. But here it
- 6:33Speaker 1: is the cut I've been mean to play for you again,
- 6:37Speaker 1: which I heard on the Mike Gallagher Show that stuck
- 6:41Speaker 1: with me big time. Is the Secretary of State Marco
- 6:45Speaker 1: Rubio just a few weeks ago saying.
- 6:48Speaker 2: This my hope for America and the same deal with that. Yeah, look,
- 6:56Speaker 2: I mean my hope for America is what it's always been.
- 6:58Speaker 2: I think it's the hope I hope we all share.
- 7:00Speaker 2: We wanted to continue to be the place where anyone
- 7:02Speaker 2: from anywhere can achieve anything, where you're not limited by
- 7:05Speaker 2: the circumstances of your birth, by the color of your skin,
- 7:07Speaker 2: by your ethnicity. But frankly, it's a place where you
- 7:09Speaker 2: are able to overcome challenges and achieve your full potential.
- 7:13Speaker 2: I think that should be the goal of every country
- 7:14Speaker 2: in the world, frankly, but I think in the US
- 7:16Speaker 2: we're not perfect. Our history is not one of perfection,
- 7:18Speaker 2: but it's still better than anybody else's history, and ours
- 7:21Speaker 2: is a story of perpetual improvement. Each generation has left
- 7:24Speaker 2: the next generation of Americans freer, more prosperous, safer, and
- 7:28Speaker 2: that is our goal as well. But it is a
- 7:30Speaker 2: unique and exceptional country. And as we come upon this
- 7:32Speaker 2: two hundred and fifty year anniversary, I think we have
- 7:34Speaker 2: a lot to learn and be proud of in our history.
- 7:36Speaker 2: It is one of perpetual and continuous improvement, where each
- 7:39Speaker 2: generation has done its part to bring us closer to
- 7:41Speaker 2: fulfilling the vision that the founders of this country had
- 7:44Speaker 2: upon its founding.
- 7:46Speaker 1: That was Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and i'll tell
- 7:48Speaker 1: you what he's done. An incredible job. He's done an
- 7:52Speaker 1: incredible job. And you know, as Senator he always made sense,
- 7:57Speaker 1: but he was a little nervous at times, especially ten
- 7:59Speaker 1: years ago on that debate stage on against Trump. It
- 8:02Speaker 1: was fascinating. Now he's Trump's secretary of State ten years later.
- 8:08Speaker 1: But those are the two messages. Socialism which represses your
- 8:12Speaker 1: freedoms and doesn't progress us at all. I don't think
- 8:21Speaker 1: compared to the founding father's ideas that all men are
- 8:26Speaker 1: created equal and that equality should not come with control,
- 8:35Speaker 1: and that's why socialism is dangerous. They try to control
- 8:38Speaker 1: under socialism, but under what the founding fathers set up
- 8:43Speaker 1: two hundred and fifty years ago. Yes, there were many
- 8:47Speaker 1: parties back then. There were a couple of them main ones,
- 8:50Speaker 1: the Whigs and Tours, but there were different parties and
- 8:52Speaker 1: all that and different voices. And as I said, debate
- 8:56Speaker 1: made this country possible. Debate is what made this country
- 9:00Speaker 1: possible because they were able to freely express themselves. So
- 9:04Speaker 1: I had to say, if you want to go out
- 9:05Speaker 1: and vote a socialists in I guess that's what defunding
- 9:07Speaker 1: fathers had in mind too, which is freedom of speech
- 9:10Speaker 1: and freedom of religion, and freedom to be who you
- 9:14Speaker 1: want to be. But the irony is that socialism also
- 9:21Speaker 1: tramples on our freedoms. And that's my message today as
- 9:26Speaker 1: we are days away from year two fifty of America
