- 0:45SPEAKER_00: Once again, thank you.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: Thanks for having us and thanks for being here today.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: No doubt, appreciate you, man.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: So I was a cannabis.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: Early on when we when this thing first became legal, I somewhat sat on the sideline to see what was going on.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: But deep down inside, I knew uh the benefits it somewhat serves in the met in like in the medical side.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: Um the fact that I used to play, I've um worked with a lot of players who somewhat had been real deep into using it for so many different parts of their lives, who somewhat like allergic to opiates.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: So even then when things got come somewhat like a little legal out this way.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: Um I've I've had many folks that somewhat approach me, want to set up some of these small partnerships, but in so many different ways, I want to do this the right way, right?
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: Um, as a minority person growing up in this community, I've seen so many of my brothers, young cousins, and sisters, I mean so many people on so many different levels that somewhat like serving time for all things that we didn't think, you know, would put us in jail for.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: But we had a chance somewhat like, and we also saw what was going on in the community.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: There was a lot of young minorities who somewhat were getting uh like great opportunities to get these licenses, but when you show up to the front line, it wasn't them really serving our community.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: So when I had a chance to somewhat like, you know, be here, work for my brothers and sisters as a minority-owned company.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: Um, I reach out to my brothers out in Michigan who somewhat had some experience in doing it, working in the minority uh uh community, and um, you know, know how to do it.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: If there's one thing we knew, uh we want to deliver everything we promised to the city of uh Boston and our community.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: So the primitive Boston location has been pretty successful.
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: Y'all are definitely grown in leaps and bounds.
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: Talk to us about the secret behind the success of primitive Boston being a success.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: Um it takes a real team, man.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: I mean, when we first started, uh just being here in the city with everything that was going on.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: There are so many different constructions, the weather.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: There are certain days we showed up.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: Um, we didn't know how long that was gonna last, when things were gonna turn around.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: But thank God I had a great, I have a great team.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: Um, they so much saw the bigger picture.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: I like to tell people we're more of like uh, I don't like to call ourselves a cannabis sport, but we're more of a lifestyle.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: When show up to our dispensary, we often like a little bit more than cannabis.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: Um as athletes, there are certain things, um, and we have stuff for people of all ages.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: So um, you know, it's just like, I mean, if there's anything I can say to a lot of our brothers and sisters today, somewhat like in the cannabis industry, still trying to figure out, still trying to make it.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: I fully understand, like, you know, waking up, not knowing where the next check's gonna come from yet.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: You're trying to figure out it's not easy.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: But, you know, we have integrity, we have a way to serve, we have a commitment to ourselves, to one another.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: Just keep trying to do it the right way.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: I'm not sitting here speaking like um it's easy because I know, because we we still trying to figure it out.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: But a lot of it, the best thing I think we've been doing, we've been trust trying to establish a better relationship between ourselves and our customers.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: We sit there, we listen, and we somewhat like trying to provide everything to ask anymore.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: I love that, man.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: So, right now, vote no on eight is a big topic in Massachusetts.
- 4:16SPEAKER_01: Um, talk to us about the importance of voting no on a and making sure that we keep stores like yourself going.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: No, it's absolutely important.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: This is something that we fought hard for, and we still find for in so many different ways.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: Um, we show up here so many different times and we saw the other side to it, but the stuff like they're not reporting to you, it's how much it's somewhat like serve our community.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: I re I, you know, I golf every once in a while.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: You see people of all ages show up with the gummies, with some edibles, um, they they they have the CBD cream.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: There are so many different levels on the medical side that I think this thing's um helping and serving.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: And you know, for the group that we've been told that we're hurting, we don't see any of them here.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: We we you know, we understand what's going on.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: A lot of us, we fathers, we have families, we don't serve anyone to 21.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: We stay by the rules, we'll listen.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: Um, even there are a lot of things that we felt like, you know, the city, the government, the CCC could have done to somewhat like make life easier on us as um owners of companies, yes, but yet they haven't happened yet.
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: We still stay true to the rules, we serve our community, we show up every day here trying to do things the right way.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: So uh um, and we we already have a long customer base, somewhat like believing our products, and they we understand what it does for them.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: As you can see, if you look at our menu, it's not all flowers, it's not all consumptions.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: We have people of all types of um ages, as long as I over 21 plus show it like they show up in for all kinds of different things.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: It could be like sciatic nerves, slipping issues, uh relaxing wind delivery, but we have well of all ages and you know, races.
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: So if we for all that we've done, how hard we've fought to somewhat like that here today, I hope whoever's in charge and would understand see the other side of um this product and how it's been serving and helping our community and hope they can keep giving us uh you know the freedom to somewhat like keep helping out and serving our community.
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: Are we gonna see BC make the playoffs?
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: That's the goal, man.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: That's the goal.
- 6:22SPEAKER_00: I know uh it's probably gonna be a tough year for my team, but we have some new um uh uh transfers.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: We have a great coaching staff, and we're the only one uh Division I team here, you know, in Boston.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: Uh I'm hoping um, you know, with the transfers and NIL, you just never know what might happen.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: It takes guys a little bit of time to put things together, but I hope by the time the season comes around, we'll put it all together and uh we'll be somewhat like uh uh you know in the playoff or a bowl game somehow.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: That's my hope.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: Let's get them to the bowl game at least, man.
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's the goal.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: Let's get to a bowl game, man.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: At least for the city.
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: Uh I appreciate your time, man.
- 7:13SPEAKER_02: If you enjoyed the conversation, if you want cash color candidates, Patrick.
