- Big Country: Welcome back to the Altitude Proms podcast. I'm co-host P Big Country. Along with my partner P V. I almost said else, P V. back after the like a little mini bye week for us. how you doing tonight? PV: Doing good, doing good. just got back from a nice trip to Hawaii. and yeah, you know, now I'm back ready to do another podcast, recap a bit of what's going on in the NFL. Big Country: For sure, for sure. Yeah, we just saw well little update recording this. We saw the Brewers win the World Series, so baseball season's officially over and we're about to be in a lockout, so that's great. PV: Yeah. Big Country: yeah. PV: We also saw the NBA get started. over our bye week. The actual regular season started. The Nuggets are off to a decent start. you know, we got a nice win today, moved up to two and two, seeing a couple positives. You know, we were pretty scared going into the season with how awful we felt like the management was, but it does seem like we did get a couple of diamonds in the rough. I think Travon Brazil has been is been looking like a he'll be a great addition to the team. I love his hustle. I love how His rebounding ability, everything that he's putting out there. and you know, obviously a couple other young studs out there. DeMar DeRozan's been looking like a really good six man off the bench. I am happy with that pickup. a little bit of a weak game from him today, only dropped six, but he did drop twenty the game prior. So, you know, obviously you can't expect perfection Big Country: They got routed by the Warriors, so PV: out of him. We did get destroyed by the Warriors, unfortunately. We saw Yaxel, Yaksel Lindenberg, however you say his name, I think his name is. Big Country: Yeah, dude. He's gonna be good. He's gonna prolong Curry's career. PV: He's he's pretty damn good. Yeah, he's pretty damn good. he and I I I give him credit, he backs up yeah. He backs up his talk, you know, he talks a lot, but he's been backing it up and you know, Big Country: Mm-hmm. PV: can't can't fault the guy for complaining about all these floppers in the NBA, so Big Country: Dude, he's he's a hundred percent right on it. That's the problem. And just no one just no one says it, And this dude's he's you know, he's a little older coming into the NBA PV: Yeah, exactly. They're afraid to talk on the superstars. Big Country: too. You know, he he's he has the size to compete with all these. Dude, he's Luke he's literally Lucas Asian talking shit to him. I fucking love it. Curry, dude. Did you see PV: Yeah, he's Lucas age. Yeah. Big Country: him drop forty four tonight against the Timberwolves? Dude. PV: Yeah. Yeah, Curry is he's back and doing his thing. I think that yeah, like we mentioned, I think Yaksild really is gonna give him another life, He Yaxel talks, and I think Curry really likes it when his teammates talk and back him up. You know, Draymond used to be that fire for him. Draymond's kinda backed up a little bit, you know, bit a bit less of a loose cannon after all of the debacles that he got into. So it's nice to see Yaxel kinda be that be that outlet for him now. Big Country: Yeah, for sure. For sure. But let's get straight into what we I don't know, usually do every week. Let's talk some NFL. Yeah, suppose that Let's make this full screen then. PV: Sartin here? Big Country: What the fuck? PV: Starting with the bets of the week, I was gonna say Big Country: Fuck that. talk about a little bit of we recap week seven. I know you were out of town, but still I got the picks in, didn't post them, but you we still got in. saw the Bears take down the Patriots on Thursday night last week. you could probably say it was a little bit of a dominant fashion from them, you know. Caleb's second week back from the hammy injury that, you know, you know, so so egregious, of course. And without that touchdown right before half from Ramondre, that crazy, you know, pass, Patriots were down two scores and that kinda kept them in the game. But it was Bears all the way there. PV: Yeah, and obviously the second half was a slightly tighter than what the first half sh sh really felt like. It should have been a bigger gap. but it did feel like Drake May kind of fell back into that shell again, faced a good defense this time around. He did have a pretty solid game, honestly, over three hundred yards, but it did feel like there were a lot of moments where he was making that kind of just like a mistake throw, kinda scrambling around, getting a little Jittery on his feet. obviously nothing to worry about. I don't think, he still had a good enough game to keep his confidence up and it is a tough defense to go against. So w a rough loss for him, but you know, young kid, a lot of lo lot of season ahead of him. Bears just managed to take this one down. Big Country: It's gonna be interesting just see what the Bears do, for the rest of the season. They got a big game against the Lions this weekend. a little measure game again. they've I know they faced the Falcons and the Patriots with Caleb coming out victorious and both, but I I still feel like they're not that great of a team, personally. I think something's gonna hold back. anyways. Patriots was that it that was in Ireland, correct? PV: Paris. Big Country: Paris, fuck. we saw a vintage Raj, man. He was playing pretty damn well, man. You saw that you saw that first down Sally when he s secured the game with his legs against the Colts, right? Colts? What's that? Shit. yeah. Well, anyways, yeah. Steelers, you know, they're looking good. They're five and two. They got a big game against the Browns this weekend. Like it would see out of Rogers still. I feel like once he gets more weapons back too, it's only gonna get a little better. And that running game looks really good with Jalen Warren still, man. Rico's honestly, they look great as a tandem right now. I know they're obviously taking carries PV: Yeah. Big Country: away from him, but they're still being pretty damn good. PV: Yeah, they looked much better as a tandem than they have all year this time around. we saw Rico be a lot more productive with his touches. six catches, forty five yards, nine rushes, forty one yards. And then obviously Jalen Warren just doing what he does, eighteen runs for over a hundred. added a couple catches for thirty six as well. So, you know Aaron Rodgers keeps it safe, which is obviously what w what the game plan was in this game, trusting the defense. and it definitely worked out this time around. And it really does help to have that tandem back there working the way that they did, Early in the season, we didn't really see them click together well enough. We saw one guy dominate, obviously Jalen Warren, and then Rico ended up going down. But this is what they were expecting when they wanted to get that tandem out there. Maybe they were expecting Rico to be the Bel Cal, over Warren, but in this case either way, it's working out, so Big Country: Hundred percent, and I'm the Saints man. What happened, man? Like they didn't look good all day. They they couldn't run the ball for shit. PV: Yeah, their their run game is a huge problem. they're definitely missing Trevor H. Chain right now. Travis, not Trevor. Sorry, wrong one. Big Country: Yeah. PV: and he I'm hoping that he'll definitely bring something a lot bigger back to the back to their run game because their run game just looks straight up awful right now. But a big problem with it as well, actually something that the Steelers linebacker, I forget his name, but I saw this on the news Big Country: Elsen. PV: No, not w not Wilson. It was it was it wasn't somebody huge, but regardless, he had called out the fact that Tyler Chug actually isn't able to make the adjustments on the line. so if you see if you see that news article or that post, I saw it in I saw it as a post on Instagram, it it basically explains that Every time that there's been an adjustment that the Saints offense has made, it's been relayed by Kellen Moore to Tyler Shug. And so w the what the Steelers did in this game was they would just wait until those last 12 seconds where the offense the you can no longer relay anything to the quarterback and Shug just wasn't making any adjustments. And so there was a couple plays that were pretty obvious, where they would just throw Patrick Queen right on the line and then they would still just run it down the middle because Shug just doesn't know how to adjust. So Big Country: Yeah. PV: That's definitely gonna be a really big problem for them and something that they need to sort out. They're gonna need to figure out how he can do that without Kellen Moore holding his hand through that. Big Country: Yeah, you'd figure with, s an older quarterback like Chuck you'd think that he might come with that, coming from all those years. Maybe that's the reason why PV: Yeah, you would expect that he has that experience. Yeah, absolutely. Big Country: he never did come out of college so early. Maybe. PV: Yeah, could be. Big Country: But either way, big win for the Steelers. Keeping up on that AFC North division's gonna be tough this year. every team's above five hundred, which is just insane. so good win away with them. Kinda leads into the next pick where we like we didn't know ball at all, look like. PV: This one was a shocker, actually. They were and then you what's funny is I saw a lot of people actually taking the Falcons in this game, so I guess they knew something we didn't. Big Country: Yeah, I g maybe you could think it was a trap game 'cause there was a West Coast team going down to the East Coast. it was I believe the early slate toots that could have affected things. But Irish I mean, they're just hurt. They're hurt at the receiving core and they PV: Yeah, exactly. Big Country: don't have anyone to throw to right now. it doesn't help that McCaffrey gets a little banged up early in the game. But, you know, congratulations the Falcons they PV: Yeah. Big Country: found a way to get it done. PV: Yeah, a lot of injuries. The biggest one being they have no receivers that they can rely on in that core. You know, Mike Evans is a huge, huge target for Brock Purdy. He just absorbs catches, gets them down the field, and helps bring a lot of the pressure off George Kittle who can then make plays as well. But when George Kittle's your only pass catcher out there and then Caffrey gets hurt, obviously it's kind of hard to find new options. So Brock Purdy did his best, but obviously it wasn't enough in this one and the Falcons, they get it done. Big Country: Yeah, you can be as good as quarterback if as you want. they'll truly the great ones separate themselves when they have absolutely no help. Aaron Rodgers. But PV: Yeah. Big Country: we finally took the Browns and they won. If you noticed. PV: Woo! Big Country: Remember who'd they play? Was it the Titans? PV: The Titans, yeah. Big Country: Yeah. I mean, no surprise here that the Titans lost a game. And the Browns have been looking good, but at the PV: This one was a pretty obvious one. It was a closer one than they should have been though. Big Country: same time, the Browns also Have been good at leading those fourth quarter comebacks at the end of the game or fourth quarter drives where they need to score to win, whether it's tied or they're down. And Sean's getting it done. not looking too bad either at at the same time. So props to the Browns. Don't really have much to say about the co the Titans other than they're just a young team, inexperienced, and they'll get better as time goes on. PV: this one was honestly interesting. the Titans got off to a really big early lead. They got off to a 14-point Big Country: You done. PV: lead right away. Tony Pollard came out and scored three touchdowns, 129 yards, but he almost got four. Actually, there was one that ended up getting called back. Big Country: Mm-hmm. PV: but that's not gonna happen all the every game, you know. That's not gonna be a common occurrence for these guys. I do I do see a bright spot between Cardinal Tate and Cam Ward. There's a there's definitely a lot of chemistry Big Country: Starting. PV: being built there, good connection, but You still you need that run game to be consistent. it worked out for them it didn't work out for them this time around. I do think that they had a pretty solid game. They just couldn't finish it, unfortunately. it's it sucks, but it happens. I do think that this could be a bright spot for them if they can just keep that run game going. But if this is a one and done type of thing for their run game, whether it's with Tony Pollard or even TJ Spears coming back and helping them out in its tandem, it it needs to be consistent if they're gonna get anywhere with this team. Big Country: Certainly. Yeah. And Tony Part is a big name to watch as the trade deadline approaches. yeah. Speaking of trade deadline, kind of leading on to our next game. you know, we saw Colts obviously cover, you know, 'cause the Vikings can't score any points, but it looks like it's gonna be a fire sale in Indy. So we probably saw Quentin Nelson go to the Seahawks and then DeForce Buckner go to the Niners, back to his team that actually drafted him. Both Players I could have saw my team go get, but that's okay, Why would we go help our quarterback? Whatever. PV: Yeah, it was it's a pretty shocking fires sale because it's it's really not y the Quentin Nelson one makes the most sense to me because you weren't getting him back, so you need to get some sort of capital for him. But the the forties the De Forest Buckner one, neither of them was massive capital for what I consider to be really high quality players. DeForest Buckner is the kind of guy who you can just throw in the middle of your D line and he's gonna really help bolster your run defense, especially, and he does get a good amount of pressures on the quarterback as well. So, yeah, sucks for Colts fans. They're they're definitely kind of just tossing the season away. seeing what they can maybe do next year. might see a lot of your favorite players go. JT might be the next to go. Josh Downs has requested a trade, so he should be going soon as well. yeah, that team's kind of just gonna be falling apart, unfortunately. and yeah, like you said, Vikings can't seem to score any points. so they ended up covering, but Still finding ways to win games continue to be the their only remaining team I believe that are undefeated. Big Country: They are the only remaining team. They shouldn't be. PV: Yeah. Jordan Mason came back as well and actually surpassed Aaron Jones right away. So for any of you fantasy Big Country: Yeah. PV: owners, I did drop Aaron Jones before this week because I had a feeling that was gonna happen. Big Country: Yeah. I mean, there's not really much I could say about the Vikings that I'm like so excited about besides like, their defense is playing well. They've also had one of the easiest strengths of schedules. You know, they're playing PV: Yeah. Big Country: some weak opponents. And this again, once again, it'll be a big test, you know, going against the Vikings, not the Vikings, the Lions this weekend. PV: The Lions, yeah. Big Country: You know, one of the best offenses in the NBL in the FL period. I'll be a big tell. 'cause if they get in the shootout, they will n for one, they won't get in the shootout 'cause they're fucking ass. But at the same time, PV: They will not win. Yeah. Big Country: the that's that defense will keep in the games. So PV: Yeah. Yeah, so this is definitely gonna be their biggest test of the year so far. You're going against the highest scoring offense in the league right now. And you know, you've had a lot of easy matchups, you've been extremely dominant so far. Can it continue with one of the T league's top offenses? Big Country: Yeah, is are we in one of those weird situations with the cap with what's his name? With the Colts, but the Colts like they have so much money on the books, dude. Like they have a lot of cap space still, but Daniel Jones is locked up for multiple years after this. JT is still locked up, Travarius Ward's locked up, you just paid Sauce Gardner, dude. Like, they are fucked beyond fuck. With this rebuild that PV: Yeah. Big Country: they're basically essentially going into. I know Quentin Nelson and DeForest Buckner were both in their last year of their contracts. Makes sense why they want to offload those and get something because you know your season's lost. But I mean JT's only gonna get older. I could see why they could move him. You no one's gonna take Daniel Jones. Why would they? It's another PV: No, yeah. Big Country: team paying a bad quarterback. So anyways. PV: Yeah, I could see them moving JT to a team that is struggling slightly at running back but still has some still has a young a young player back there that, could, still benefit the Colts. So I think teams like the Browns maybe going and getting Quinshawn Judkins and some capital. Or maybe even a team like the Bengals swap for Chase Brown and then get capital because you can get capital in addition to Chase Brown and still have a decent running back, so I do see that I I do foresee them trading. Big Country: What about the the woman beater? PV: Josh Jacobs, you think they would trade with the Packers? Big Country: Theoretically, the money would line up, you know, and you could tr you could just cut it. PV: I don't know. I think I think it would have to be I think with Josh Jacobs it would have to be quite a bit more capital because the I I don't know the you can get some use out of Josh Jacobs. It's gonna be it's gonna have to be probably Big Country: I'd give up a first for J T right now. Hey, you look good. You look good. PV: more than a first. More than a first than Jacobs, I would say. He did look pretty good though. Big Country: Yeah, certainly. Yeah, and the passing game. I think the running game needs to get a little better, but that's on the line too. So PV: Yeah. Running games still Yeah. Big Country: saw the winless dolphins get their first win against the Jets. Jets dude fire everyone, bro. This fire sell everyone. That like like they have so much capital and picks that no reason they should hold on to Garrett Wilson any longer. Truthfully. There's no reason. You're gonna have emerging players like Kenyon Sadiq, Omar Cooper, that are gonna break out. And then you have three first round picks next year already. Do it. Go get your another go get another one from the Niners. I don't know why the Niners wouldn't do it either. Gary Wilson deserves to have a good quarterback. PV: I think the Jets should I think that the Jets, yeah, they need to they need to find a quarterback. I think that's their really that's really their only problem right now. G Gino's playing Gino's playing okay, he's serviceable, but he just can't win them games. He Big Country: He's not gonna he's not gonna take you to the promise line anytime soon. He's PV: Yeah. Big Country: the bridge quarterback that they needed for this year, though. You know what I mean? PV: And it's yeah, that's that's true, yeah. And it's clear that their run game isn't a problem. Braylon Allen went in there, without Brees Hall has been extremely productive, averaged six point one per carry this last game. They're still able to sling it. Omar Cooper got a hundred and fifteen. It's just finishing that game, man. Something about Gino just doesn't know how to finish these games this year. Or, you know, in prior years either. Big Country: Only problem Garrett Wilson is if you trade this fool, you're gonna carry a thirty one million dollar dead cap. So you're gonna release you'll save like twenty one million but you're not gonna PV: I don't know that I would trade Garrett Wilson. I think I would honestly hold on to Wilson because then you you really do have an incredible one of the one of the best receiving quarters in the league if Omar Cooper emerges to be what he seems to be. So I would hold on to Garrett Wilson and hope that you can either draft a quarterback or even with the amount of capital that you have, if if you can somehow find someone that's selling, which I don't know that anyone's selling a decent quarterback they can get right now, but Big Country: Justin Herbert. PV: Actually, that's not a bad that's not a bad point. Big Country: That'd be kinda crazy, right? PV: That would be pretty crazy, go and get Justin Herbert, upgrade at quarterback. you would go from you would go from the if chargers to the Jets who really have been shit for years and never Big Country: To the if jets. PV: had a quarterback. So it'd be really interesting. Big Country: Yeah, the Jets are one of those franchises, even if they get somewhat of a good quarterback, they'll fuck it up, dude. PV: Yeah, they somehow managed to not figure it out. I don't know what it is. Big Country: dude, you can't tell me that team wasn't gonna be a like a playoff team that first year with Rogers when he didn't when he tore his Achilles. That team was look looking like they were humming, man. I mean, well, but big news for the Dolphins, man. You gotta win. Your first win for your new head coach, too. Malik looked good. Ollie Gordon's looking really good. maybe set up a nice tandem with him next year with a chan. You know, so you know, they just paid him big money. I don't really know why you paid running back big money. PV: They've had that the thing is they've had that tandem though, and for whatever reason it's never worked out. Ollie Gordon has never really been good outside of now that he's been starting running back, which is kind of weird. Big Country: I don't know, maybe maybe they found something. Or maybe they just played the fucking Jets. No, let's be honest here. PV: Yeah. Maybe that could just be it. Big Country: here's another blunder that we had. Panthers minus three. Dude, PV: man, that I can't even explain this one. Big Country: I I was like sitting there trying to explain. I was like, yeah, the the dad, dad, the Panthers lost by thirty one to the Bucs. And he's like, Aren't the Bucs, don't they have only one win? I was like, Yeah, dad. Yes, they do. I don't know what happened. He's like, did Baker play well? I'm just like, he had 70 yards actually. their defense PV: No, he didn't do shit, yeah. Big Country: just swarmed him and their running game was amazing. I can't really explain it. PV: Yeah, it was it was an interesting one. I mean a a crazy amount of runs. They ran the ball forty nine times for two hundred Big Country: Mm-hmm. PV: and fifty eight yards, managed to average five fucking yards a carry off of forty nine runs, which is ridiculous. Big Country: That's the type of Bucks like team performance that makes me say, yeah, they could easily go win the South right now. South is not that good. PV: Yeah, if they if they could continue that type of performance where their defense plays that type of shutout against a team that has been offensively extremely powerful this season. before that game Yeah, and before that game Big Country: their defense hasn't been bad all year, really. they limited Green Bay, they limited the Steelers, now they've limited them. they can they can play with them. PV: Yeah, the before that game they hadn't dropped less than twenty it looks like. Yeah, they hadn't dropped less than twenty-one before that game, and it was against the Browns who have a pretty good defense. So yeah, I mean w what a game by the by the Buccaneers. I I really have I really have no words. That one definitely shocked me. I didn't see that one coming by any means. Sean Tucker and Bucky Irving both just even Kenneth Gainwell, all three of them were running all over them. Big Country: Yeah, and not to mention just me, I had in my parley. I just had the over and it Davenir hit in the first half from them alone. It PV: Yeah. Yeah. Big Country: was great. But I hope the Panthers don't bounce back this week, you know, 'cause they're playing Green Bay tomorrow. So I want to see on that. But they they look like shit. So maybe that was a blueprint to beat and I hope we use it. PV: Yeah, we'll see. I don't know that I don't know that they can re they would repeat such a horrible performance, to be honest with you. Yeah. It Big Country: No. No, my team's ass will fuck it up somehow. PV: it'll I think it'll be a good game tomorrow, though. I think both teams have really stellar offences. Should be issued out, but every time that we say it should be issued out, we end up seeing a fucking low scoring game. Yeah. Yeah, I wouldn't even be surprised if somehow that happened. Big Country: It's gonna be a snooze fest 13 to 10. Walk off field goal that we because we miss it first, and then they go down and kick it, you know. Because our kicker, you know what? We'll get that into we'll get into that in three three but bangles. they look kind of kind of shitty in that first half, and then just woke and just said, All right, we're just gonna beat the shit out of you, Ravens. Beat scored five touchdowns in the second half. P. Rand get got in on the action and scored a touchdown. Gasicki scored a touchdown. Then everyone was kind of feasting on that offense. Bro looked really PV: Yeah, and it Big Country: good. PV: and it and it's the same thing that it's been all year for the Ravens. That second half Ravens team is dog shit. I mean, they Big Country: Mm-hmm. PV: started out the game, they're up thirteen zero a half, and then they don't score the entire second half, give up five touchdowns in one half. It's it's it's just been an it's been a recurring theme for these guys. They really need to figure out how to be consistent. And it it happened with Lamar too. It's not just the Tyler Huntley thing. It was happening when Lamar was back there too. they should be at a bet better record than four and three, but they're not, and that's on them. and with the Bengals, fantasy owners are gonna hate this, but the Bengals are better with Samaji Pirine in the backfield. Samaji Pirine is just a better all around outlet player. I think his pass blocking offers a lot with how much that offensive line struggles for them. And so with with Pirine back there, I feel like The more yeah he was back there, you saw a lot more success with the pass game, which is why you saw a lot more of P Right in that second half. Big Country: Yeah, definitely. Just I'm gonna use Chasebound no matter what, but it's a nice tandem though. PV: Yeah, they're still gonna use Chase Brown. In fact, and I and I actually do think that Chase Brown is a good buy low candidate right now with how with how low scoring he's been fantasy wise, and unproductive. And if you ever look if you've if you've looked at Chase Brown's fantasy stats, he always does awful weeks one through seven and then weeks eight through eighteen. For whatever reason, he's Big Country: Mm-hmm. He's like a top five back. Yep. PV: the best back. Yeah. So, you know, it's definitely the buy low type of opportunity right now. He's not gonna he I don't think he's gonna get any cheaper, but you do obviously run that risk that maybe they just do end up using Shimaji back there because of his pass blocking, but they're still gonna run the ball with Chase Brown regardless because he's the better runner. Big Country: Yeah, yeah, sure. Giants, Texans. I didn't expect J.J. McCarthy to play as well as he did. And dude, PV: Yeah, wow. Big Country: he's throwing to Malik. I'll take that all day. Malik's looking like he's gonna have a really good, you know, back comeback season from the ACL man. And the Giants, they're just a s like I feel like they're just super talented. You know, just gotta get some guys together, man. Like Jameis, Jameis is not gonna fucking do it for anyone, you know. But taking a chance on a guy with J Ma JJ McCarthy who has a lot of talent, he just is not as smart, but he's gonna develop could be a good good thing for the Giants. It's a bad thing for Jackson Dart if he does well, but have that c like predicament in the offseason if he does super well, because the Giants are kind of poised for the division. PV: Yeah, they're they're this year the biggest difference between this year and last year. Last year they were getting a lot of yardage, but they can never get in the end zone. They're getting in the end zone a lot this year, especially with those running Big Country: Mm-hmm. PV: touchdowns. they had four different runners score a touchdown, obviously, one of them being twish push with Jameis Win Winston, but still the Big Country: Mm-hmm. PV: game winning run by Devin Singletary, Cam Scadavu. Fuck John Harva for lying about that shit. He's all no, yeah, that was never part of the game plan. Instantly gives him his touches back the next week, and he was obviously Big Country: Mm-hmm. PV: extremely productive with them. Tyron Tracy went and got a touchdown. So that's been their biggest difference this year. Just actually getting that ball in the end zone. And like you said, they might take the division. four two and one is not a bad record at all to be sitting at. Yeah. Big Country: They're certainly there for it. it's just one of those things like how far can JJ McCarthy take you? Can he go beat the Cowboys? You know, again. Because I feel like whoever wins that division is gonna be like I mean, they'll be nine, seven, and one or nine and eight, you know, something like that. I don't think any team in that division is winning ten games. Certainly not the Cowboys. Certainly not the Giants, really. They're very beatable teams, but like in a weak division they can easily contend. For the Texans, I don't know what the fuck's going on. You figure by ten and a half at home? PV: Yeah, the Texans the Texans are a strange team. I don't I really don't get them. They have at least sometimes they have a fucking unstoppable offense and then the next week seems to fall apart and then they don't end up being able to win a lot of these games and finish out. So it's it's a weird season for the Texans. Yeah. Exactly. Big Country: They always are in a one score game too. They just can't finish them. And that you that can come down to a head coach. I'm gonna be honest. But if he gets available, dude, I feel like he'd be a great defensive coordinator again. So PV: Yeah, he would be a great defensive coordinator, I agree. And what's crazy is his offense hasn't even been bad hasn't been bad. They've been clicking every other game. It's just the consistency of it all and finishing the games. Big Country: Certainly, yeah. Yeah. Talk to me about your your Broncos. PV: I don't know why you took the cardinals to cover. Big Country: It was in it was in Arizona. Your offense looks like shit every week. I expected a won somewhat of a one score game because for one, Trey McBride cooked your shit too. But no. PV: He did cook our shit, that is true. But the offense the offense finally got what we call not it not its bye week, but it finally got to relax a bit. the offense in this first six weeks did face top tier defenses consistently. and they were not it was not an easy schedule for them. It was definitely something that Bonix had to work through. And I think this one is really big for his confidence. He went out there, he was s not only slinging it, but he was running that damn thing. He had the longest tou run from a quarterback in four years for the sixty-two yards. in addition to that, he still had a couple like other scrambles. you know, nothing huge. But Jonah Coleman looks looking like he's definitely g gonna be the more consistent running back in this offense. They utilized him the most and he was extremely productive with his touches, a really good blocker in the backfield, which is what I was really high on for him when we drafted him. so Big Country: Yeah. PV: That's really good. obviously, you still want to see more out of the offense. that stupid ass play that got Jalen Waddle hurt pisses me off because it got him hurt and it made no sense. It was a terrible design. Sean Payton did take the blame for that. I'm glad he owned up for it, owned up to it. there were a couple things in that game that I think stood out to me, and it was more so the adjustments that we were making. I saw film watchers. I really like that guy's he's his his Instagram account, he does some really good breakdowns. He noted that there were two different plays where we had a bunch formation and we would motion a wide receiver across to the other side. And both times they would do the same thing and they would bring a blitz off the edge to where the motion was going. And so the third time that we ran that play, we did the dump off to RJ Harvey, knowing that they would blitz. And it was just we had open blockers ahead. Everyone just took themselves out of the play with the blitz. And that's why we ended up with a 52 yard touchdown. So If we're able to consistently adapt to defenses like that during a game, then I'm really happy with the way our offense can if if it can continue to be like this. But obviously, this is this was a much easier game for them not going against the top defense this time around. We had we do have five wins under our belt, so I'm not complaining, but I would like to see this offense against a good defense. Big Country: Yeah, for sure, for sure. I didn't watch this game to be honest with you. It was on my no bet list this week because PV: Okay. Big Country: it's hard to your your your team is very hard to bet on with inconsistencies. Like you were saying this first six weeks. I know they played tough defenses, but it'd be nice to see them play like somewhat good once so I could bet on them, but PV: Yeah, I think I've actually been a hundred percent on not s not spreads, but I've been on a hundred percent on my picks for the Broncos to win and lose this year, so I know my boys pretty Big Country: That's good. PV: well. Big Country: That's good. I don't I don't know my boys pretty well. So Yeah, I took to w I took your PV: tá. Big Country: boys to win, but there's a lot of areas where I could say, Green Bay should won this game. because they should have. They should have won PV: Thought they were gonna win it. Yeah. Big Country: this game. or at least gone into overtime or something. But you know, it comes down to three things. Special teams cannot in the NFL ever. Miss anything under thirty yards. That's inexcusable. Under any PV: No, yeah. Big Country: one. And to not even be blocked. That's even more inexcusable. And then to miss another thirty four yarder. Inexcusable. That's six points right there. That's an eas that's a win. They just right there. But I don't know if you saw it. It was posted all over for me, man. That re officiating crew is one of the worst I've ever seen. PV: Yeah, that that officiating crew was horrible. The game was officiated horribly. Obviously the Packers still shot themselves in the foot with Trey Smack facing those field goals, but it was it was definitely not a well officiated game, I agree. Big Country: to be in the game where the officials are suspended for the next week because of their actions in their game. Just it just it's just like why why does it have to have to happen to us, I know the Lions the Lions played well, their defense played well when you were talking I I mean I wasn't talking about it with you last week, but they had one of the worst defenses in football leading up to this week. And you're saying, Green Bay's gonna feast because they can air it out. They could do anything they want. They could do anything they want still. You got Josh Jacobs back. He was a great in the passing game for them. but what do we do the best? Shoot ourselves in the foot. We we lead the league in drops. We have the most accepted penalties against us. We are the only team in the NFL to not get a single roughing the passer call on their own quarterback, which is ridiculous. You know, and then we also have the most missed field goals. I don't know if I said that or not. But all those just combined for you know. losses essentially, We also have the worst pass block win rate, the worst run block win rate. I don't know how this team is four and three. The fact that they are is a combination in it in itself. PV: It's that offense. The offense is actually really, really, really good, especially now that you have Josh Jacobs back there. You don't have a good run out run game yet, but it's not in the terrible depths that it was. And so that offense keeps you in games and it should have been a higher scoring game for you guys this week. Like you mentioned, missed field goals probably would have won you the game, but that y those wide receivers are all clicking. I Savion Williams has actually looked really good. He's been a great utility player. a sneaky one for Dynasty as well. has been on the field, I think forty snaps in both of the last two games, which is actually pretty good number. Big Country: Yeah, especially if golden is gonna be out tomorrow, you might be a nice fle little flex play. PV: Yeah, true actually. Yeah, good point. but yeah, Golden, Sabian Williams, and Christian Watson combined, I think one of the better widers he records in the league for sure. And so, you know, if they can just keep keep that consistent offense, they played well enough on defense, honestly, going against one of the better scoring offenses in the NFL. It's just bad officiating and bad special teams. Yeah. Big Country: They they came up with a ton of stops. it's just it's I mean know it's a you know no excuses, you gotta win it type of league, you know, but like it it's hard man when you're just you're getting third down stops and they're getting bailed out, man. You know, they got bailed out twice on one drive and it led to a score that took them for the lead, you know, and just like love's getting rocked. Tucker Krauss getting rocked over the middle of the field where he's completely, defenseless and we don't get we don't get shit, man. I don't know if we built a reputation as a team. It doesn't feel like we should have. But I feel like something's gotta change, man. It's just getting annoying. But hopefully we rebound tomorrow. If they don't, probably gonna fucking kill myself. So anyways. Rams, Raiders, I don't a little bad on the On the plus there, but we knew the Rams were gonna PV: Mm-hmm. Big Country: win. Rams jumped out to a huge lead early. they let I can't remember his name. I wanna say Davis Allen scored two touchdowns in the first half. PV: Fucking that shit pissed me off. I went and picked up Tyler Higbee for fucking fantasy because Tyler Tyler Big Country: Mm-hmm. PV: Warren's out. And they go and throw two touchdowns to Davis Allen. Big Country: Yeah. PV: Kobe Parkinson is their more productive tight end out of the three of them. And Tyler Higbee gets two catches. what the fuck? Big Country: you just gotta just gotta sit there just like, all right, cool. I mean, they proved they could be like a solid defense without Devante. they kinda got their get right game too. You know, they're two and four heading into that game, now they're three and four, you know. if they're somehow plus odds to make the playoffs, I know, I would take that bet. You know what mean? They're a good team. They'll they're they're gonna figure out. They also had a really hard schedule going into this year. But losing to the Cardinals, that's inexcusable. So PV: Yeah, and I think the big thing here is their three tight end set is actually a it's a glorious set that they have and Sean McVeigh runs it really well. So as much as it sucks to lose Devante Adams, I don't think I don't think that it's that big of a downgrade to their offense. I mean it helped them flourish in a couple different ways in that their three tight ends were all involved. They were all out there blocking, and so you saw Kyron Williams get almost a hundred yards and then even Blake Coram ran for almost a hundred yards and each of them ran for a touchdown. So not only do you have all three of them out there as a threat to catch the ball and it actually helps Puka out a lot. He's been he's crazy good in three tight end sets, but your run game also looks even better with all those tight ends out there. So I do think that this was kind of a big switch for them. I I agree that if they're plus money to make the playoffs, I would take it 'cause I think that this could be a big turning point in their offense. I think maybe they were relying a little too much on trying to feed Devante the ball. And these three tight end sets that have always worked for them in the past, they need to kind of just stick with it. Big Country: Yeah, for sure. 'Cause it's not like they have other receivers really, other they're no names, which is kinda crazy. PV: No, yeah, Kunada Munfield, yeah, would be their next best option and he's you know, he's nothing. Yeah. Yeah. Big Country: Two two at well. I don't even know if he's healthy. but regardless, good game. I feel like Raiders fans are counting down the days till they see Mendoza. I still think they I mean the Raiders have had so many hard games in a row, man. You just gotta wait it out. Cousins has played literally PV: Yeah, and I don't think Kirk's has been the problem, yeah. Big Country: dude, they played the Bills, Chiefs, Rams, and I'm forgetting the last team that they just played. Patriots, maybe? No. Was this Patriots? Might have been. PV: let me see what this schedule was. I think it was the Patriots, I think you're right. Big Country: that's four. four, let's be honest, AFC contenders, essentially. PV: Yeah, the pictures. Big Country: That's insane. Give it just give the Raiders were not supposed to make the playoffs this year. The fact that they're even in some of these games with these big boys, I is an accomplishment in itself. Spay it out, man. It's gonna be a good team. PV: Yeah, and Kirk still threw for two hundred ninety five yards, two touchdowns. He doesn't have any wide receivers out there. it's just Trey Tucker, and yeah, Big Country: Yeah, fucking Trey Tucker. PV: and Trey Tucker I wouldn't consider to be a a consistent wide receiver Big Country: Mm-hmm. PV: one. Your wide receiver one's technically Brock Mowers right now. So it's Big Country: Uh-huh. PV: it's hard to actually blame Kirk Cousins at all, and he's still playing really well too. In fact Big Country: Yeah, he's not turning over the ball c crazy ton either. PV: Yeah. Well he he's turned the ball over a decent amount, but he's still throwing the ball really well. Big Country: I'm not gonna lie I didn't look at the stats before saying that. So I get for that. PV: I think he has let me see how many picks? Yeah, he's hasn't been terrible. He has five picks in the year. Big Country: five picks through seven games, man. I'll take that. out of Kirk, a guy that's a bridge quarterback again. PV: Yeah, it's less than a pick per game. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Big Country: but I ca this kinda leads me to like the weirdest game of the week, in my opinion. I have no idea why the Chiefs PV: This one was weird, yeah. Shut down completely. Big Country: Okay, th they also shouldn't be plus. Maybe you give plus. Leading into this game, the nine the Seahawks were favored by three or two and a half. And we both I believe we both took Chiefs plus. I don't know why it's saying that. PV: Yeah, you're right. Yeah, I think you I think you're right, yeah. Big Country: you had a five and team that was not favored against a three and three team. Didn't make any sense. 80% of the money in Vegas PV: And yeah, that made the world. Big Country: was on the Chiefs. You don't tell me it's rigged. I don't fucking I don't know how you I believe you. PV: Yeah. Big Country: That was just fucking horseshit. the the team that I bet on when I have a thousand dollar parlay. on the last fucking leg where I have to hedge, doesn't get to the red zone once in the first time in Mahomes' career. That's the game I bet on? You're fucking kidding me, right? PV: And K9 somehow in his supposed to be his revenge game ends up getting f thirty Big Country: Dead ass. PV: six rush yards. Big Country: On four fourteen attempts. dude, you can't tell me something that was fucking You can't tell me something was a little little fishy there. Regardless, JSN PV: Yeah, this is a weird game. they're lacking wide receivers is their biggest problem, the Chiefs. Big Country: Yeah. They should go get Jared Wilson. PV: they should go trade for somebody, just anybody. I mean, Rasheed Rice for one, even if he's not hurt, he hasn't been that great. he lost a lot of his explosiveness after those injuries. So, you know, you're hoping that some of these young guys come up. Cyrus Allen, you know, they they talked so much about him during training camp, but even with all these injuries, he ended up getting one catch for 18 yards this game. So, you know. They have a lot to figure out in that offense still. What happened to their run game, I don't know. Something the the Seahawks must have figured something out, some sort of a game plan that I'm hoping future teams use to shut them down. but yeah, I mean Emmanuel Wilson went in, had a big game, much bigger game than Kenneth Walker. Yeah. Big Country: So I was happy about that actually. PV: So yeah, it was interesting. J JSN continues to be the elite wide receiver. Big Country: Dude. PV: The is absolutely unstoppable in every facet of the field. Big Country: Dude, some of the just watching his routes is mesmerizing, man. He reminds me a lot of like what PV: He's unbelievable, yeah. Yeah, he's just constantly open. Big Country: Devante looked like when he was younger with his routes, man. But dude, he might be better with his routes. That's saying something. PV: I don't know, Prime Devante. Yeah, Prime Devante was definitely something. Big Country: Prime Devonte was not putting up these numbers week in, week out. I'm gonna be honest. And he had Aaron Fucking Rogers as his quarterback. PV: Yeah, that's true. That's true. Big Country: and that's that's a huge praise coming from me. I'm not gonna lie. I like Jason PV: Mm-hmm. Big Country: a lot, though. It helps when you have him on your fantasy team. But great win by the Seahawks, you gets a four and three, Chiefs go to five and one. And sets PV: Ha ha ha. Big Country: up a big game between the Chiefs and the Broncos this week, too. So, right? This week? Yeah. PV: Yeah, this one's gonna be a big one. Yeah. Big Country: And then not really much to say here on this last one. We both had Cowboys minus four and a half. We knew it was gonna be a a good game for the boys, going against against just beat up Eagles team, head to toe. Saquon came in for the first half. He was on a snap count and then he got hurt, didn't get to play. 'Cause they were kinda playing with him for a little bit and then the they kinda just took off in the second half. PV: Yeah, that Cowboys offense just continues to be practically unstoppable. Javante Williams at the game of his career running for 155 Big Country: Mm-hmm. PV: rush yards. and, you know, obviously whenever run games doing that well, it's really hard to to hold receivers as good as C D Lamb and George Pickens. So just a really good all around game for the Cowboys offense who did go up against still a really good defense and the Eagles and managed to drop thirty-eight, you know. Regardless of whether or not they're going against a backup quarterback right now. and then a s an injured backfield as well. But they were still able to drop some big points on a tough defense. Big Country: Yeah, and I just want to say thank you to the native. 'cause he had that game in the bag, man. He was gonna beat me, right? But Dak didn't want to throw four Tuds, man. C D didn't want to drop more than seventy four yards, and I I I appreciate you for that, you know? PV: Ouch. Big Country: why didn't you start Michael Penix, man? Over Sam Darnold. PV: Or what about could also think about the trade of moving Javante would have won in that game too. Big Country: Hundred percent. Shh. What an idiot. PV: Yeah. Big Country: Anyways, let's get into week eight, get our predictions going. You know, we've already been talking for a little bit, you know, kind of wrap this up a little quicker this week. week eight started off big game, Ravens Bills, Buffalo favorite at home. PV: Wait, hold on, where the fuck is the Thursday game? Where happen to your Packers Panthers? minus three point five Big Country: Don't know. Packers, Panthers, my fucking bad. what's the spread on that hoe? PV: Packers. Big Country: gimme Green Bay minus three and a half, 'cause I'm not fucking picking against my team. PV: This one's tough actually. Big Country: I think Green Bay as a I mean, if there's anything that we saw from last week from that Carolina defense is that Green Bay is now like it's not a really a great matchup for them considering we don't run the ball well at all, but they still don't have any corners, man. So I think if Golden plays and you know him and Watson Kraftman, I think they could be really good against him. PV: Yeah, I think yeah, we talked about it earlier. It should be a shootout unless, Vegas is trying to take money from people betting on that over. But the technically is statistically the Panthers offense is better, but I do think that the Packers defense will hold them better than the Panthers offense will be able to hold the Packers. So I I'm kind of I don't know, I think this one will be pretty interesting. I'll take the Packers to win, but I'll take the Panthers to cover the three and a half. Big Country: That's funny. You think you think we're gonna win by three? With our kicking problems? PV: I think you guys you guys because he just lost by three. maybe maybe he gets smacked and he ends up smacking him this time. The smack effect. Big Country: Trey Smack, bro. Trey Smack, man. Trey Smack. All right. Ravens Bills. I'm not like what I'm seeing out of the Ravens b bills off of bye, man, at home. Place gonna be rocking again, man. I like Bills that win this at home. PV: Yeah, give me the Bills to win this at home, cover the spread. same problem with the Ravens. I'm sure they'll get up to a pretty good start against them, but they're gonna probably falter in that second half. And even if Lamar Jackson does come back, he'll be coming back from an injury, so he probably won't be a hundred percent. So I'm taking the Bills. Big Country: Yeah. Bengals at Titans. Big spread, ten point spread. I that's a tough one to bet, I'm not gonna lie to you. I like Bengals to win. I know that. But PV: I'll take Yeah. Yeah, I like Bengals to win, but honestly I'm gonna take the Titans to cover. a lot of the time when the t these Titans have had these big spreads, they've actually covered pretty well. I think there's only been one instance maybe where they had a big spread against them. Against the Texans, that's right. Yeah. But they covered against Big Country: Yeah, against the Texans. Everything else has been a one score game. PV: Baltimore, they covered against Philly early in the year when they were still a powerhouse. yeah, everything else has been a one position game except for New York. kind of shit game for them, but Big Country: Yeah, I don't PV: I'm gonna I'm gonna take them to cover the Big Country: I don't PV: spread here, especially with Cincinnati's cut corners struggling a lot this year. they have a good D line, but they do not know how to cover pass the the anything through the air. So I think Carnell Tate has a pretty big game. and I think if TJ Spears can come back, then you might have a pretty good duo with Tony Pollard and him back there. Big Country: Yeah. I like it. I like the plus ten as well. Mm-hmm. Cardinals at the boys. I guess we'll learn my lesson that I shouldn't take the Cardinals plus money, plus plus points. That's motherfucker. Pat wants plus seven, but the Cowboys to win. PV: You know, I'm actually taking them this week to be honest with you. I'll take the Cowboys to win, but I'll take the plus seven, yeah. Big Country: I don't know. Cowboys are a lot better at home. And that's why I think Spread mm. PV: I think that their defense is just awful enough to where the the Cardinals will pick them apart. the the Big Country: Just PV: the Broncos defense is even with all the injuries still top top tier. And so that's why we were able to hold them to sixteen. But you have Trey McBride, Michael Wilson, and I do believe Kendrick Borden is gonna start to get more involved in this offense, going up against what is really, really shitty defense and all facets. and so I'm gonna take I'm gonna Arizona honestly to cover this one. I think that they're gonna keep it relatively close, or they may even just score a touchdown when they're down two possessions and then try to kick an onside, lose off that. But I do think they'll be managed to cover the spread in this one. Big Country: Yeah. We went to the Vikings at the Lions. Lions are favored by three at home. PV: And it's favorite. Big Country: I I've been saying the Vikings are frauds. They haven't played anyone. This is the first like kind of real test since week one when they played Green Day. I like Lions minus three. PV: I like Lions and minus three too, but that's mostly because I learned my lesson after the Chiefs went undefeated and weren't favored. I'm gonna I'm gonna ride the same I'm gonna ride Big Country: Fucking bullshit dude. PV: that same wave here. I do think that the Lions are probably a better team. Like you mentioned, the Vikings have had a really easy schedule and if their defense falters for any reason, there's just no way that offense is keeping up. Big Country: Jet high powered offense, high powered defense. But I think that the Lions do just enough. Raiders at the Jets. Jets are favored at home by one and a half. I like Raiders plus here. So this is a great get back. They're on a four game losing streak, but I feel like they're gonna get back here. PV: Yeah, I agree. they have they only played one game, I believe, out of those losses. That was a bad loss. The rest of them they were kept it close. Kirk Cousins is still slinging it, regardless of not having receivers. Brock Bowers is still Brock Bowers. Ashton Jensi had an off game this last game, but I think he can reignite that. And I do think that the they need to start being more of a tandem with Mike Washington back there, because Mike Washington is unbelievably explosive. he has had some really, really good runs back there. So Big Country: And Genty's just really good at as a pass catcher too. that's not a bad idea. PV: Yeah, that too. He has he gets a lot of yeah, he gets a lot of those pass catches out of the backfield. he had eight for eighty yards or something this last game. so yeah, I Big Country: Move PV: mean you can you can use them that way, use one of them with those explosive runs 'cause Mike Washington's been clearly more successful that way. I'm taking the Raiders too. I'm kinda surprised that the Jets are favored in this one. I don't see why they would be. Big Country: Their offense looked alright last week. I mean all right. It made literally just alright. They don't finish games. No. No. PV: Yeah, yeah, but they never finish. They never finish games. Yeah. Big Country: Browns up Steelers. I like PV: This one's gonna be a good game. Big Country: Browns plus three and a half here, but I like Pittsburgh to win. I think Pittsburgh gets their get back from that first loss that they had against him on Thursday night. I like what the Steelers are doing too, man. Really good. Like they're playing really good football lately. PV: I think I like the Steelers. I don't know. This one's kind of interesting. I do think that they should get their get back. because that Browns, that first Browns game was a rough one for them to lose. But Deshaun Watson has looked really good, especially at those with those fourth quarter comebacks. Both teams five and two. Honestly, give me the give me the Browns to win this one and cover. I think that they're gonna end up shocking the Steelers and managing to sweep them. I think that that Browns defense knows this knows that knows the way Aaron Rodgers functions pretty well and can manage him. I don't know. I think it'll be a pretty good game. Big Country: buddy. Did you not see the first game? Rogers has Rogers PV: I don't know, I honestly think this one would be Big Country: had the best game as a quarterback against the Browns defense all year. Remember that. PV: Let's see, where did he put up? Big Country: Hey, and I'd like to say something as well. PV: He's he threw two he threw two picks against them. That's the that's the only game he's thrown. Big Country: One was a th one was a fucking Hail Mary. PV: He went twenty two for forty. I wouldn't say he played a great game. it's fifty percent completion. He had to lug the ball because they were losing. Eight eighty three Big Country: He he threw for the most yards in that game, is what I'm saying. PV: eighty three QB rating. He didn't have a good game. Big Country: That's one of the best ones they've given up. PV: I that's regardless. I think that the e even more so they probably have more they have a better idea of how he plays now after that first sample. I'm gonna take the I'm gonna take the Browns. Yeah, that's that Big Country: I also just don't like the fact that they're in Pittsburgh. Yeah. It does help. PV: that is a fair point. I don't know, this one's kind of tough. Big Country: Hey, stick to your pick, man. I I I don't mind it. I I still I still think Browns plus three and a half is good. 'Cause PV: Yeah, I'm gonna stick I'll stick with the Browns here. Big Country: I feel like it's gonna be a tight game 'cause Browns just played really, really tight with that defense. Falcons PV: Yeah. Big Country: at Bucks. This is this one's gonna piss me off 'cause I'm just gonna somehow take the box. You know, 'cause they played so well and then the Falcons just might just go in there and steam roll. Like I like but I'm gonna take Bucks minus two and a half so PV: Really? Big Country: Yeah, I don't I'm not happy about it, but I'm doing it. PV: I'm not I'm not riding I'm not riding the hype train for the Bucks. I didn't see enough out of the passing game. I don't think you're gonna be able to replicate that phenomenal run that you run game that you just had. And I think that the Falcons do have a really legitimate offense. I think Bijan has been struggling a lot recently, but he should be able to bounce back here soon. and I think this can be that bounce back game for him. Big Country: So you're going the opposite of me. PV: So I'm going the opposite. I'll take the Falcons to cover and win. Big Country: I like it. I like him. cults of Jags. PV: Jags the win. Big Country: Jags. Like let's let's not be I the question is ten is a lot of points. PV: Ten is a lot of points, but I'm still gonna take them to cover. that Jags offense is really unstoppable. And then you take away DeForest Buckner, one of the better, if not the best player on that defense. You took away Jonathan Taylor's best blocker and Quentin Nelson. I mean, this team is and then you already have players begging for trades. They're not even gonna want to be there. So I'm taking the Jags to cover and win this one by quite a bit. Big Country: Yeah, I like that. Rams at Rams, huh? PV: well it is LA versus LA, yeah. It is LA versus LA. Big Country: Think that's Chargers. It's Chargers at Rams. I mean shout out to the Rams versus the Rams, man. I like six and a half against the Chargers. Chargers just look fucking horrible. I don't think it the bio will really help them that much. They're not getting much healthier either. So I like LA and they're kinda like get right game. PV: I like LA to win, but yeah, I'll still take the I'll still take the Rams to cover because I think the Chargers will cover something more like an eight and a half point spread. I think this one will actually end up being a bit closer. May even come down to kind of being a final drive that Justin Herbert just doesn't end up pulling off. but I do think that they'll Big Country: Sure. PV: manage to keep it a bit closer. They manage to play pretty well against the better teams for whatever reason, even though they still lose the games. So I'll take them to cover, but not to win. Big Country: Yeah. All right. Chiefs at Broncos, I'll let you kinda stake take this one. Chiefs are favorite on the road. And if we learned anything, take a team that's favorite on the road. PV: Yeah, this one's a little nerve-wracking. this is the probably the toughest pick I feel like I'm gonna have to have all year. because we got smacked by the Chiefs week one, so they looked like a significantly better team, but now they are a little bit more hurt. a lot less players are gonna be available for them. And we do look you know better than we did week one. Week one seems to have been kind of a fluke. We haven't looked nearly that bad since And now we're home. We beat the Seahawks. The Seahawks just whip the Chiefs. a lot of things point us to being point to us being able to win this game, but I don't know. I this one really is a coin toss for me. Because I could see this one going either way as a Broncos fan. I really do want to say the Broncos. and I do I do believe the Broncos can win, so I'll I'll give the Broncos the win here. I'll give them I'll give them one to cover, but honestly I I'm not very confident. Big Country: You know, your whole like MO about like not being confident just gives me more reason to say Chase minus one and a half. So that's all the reason I need. PV: I haven't been I haven't been wrong though. Big Country: That's yeah, no. No, we haven't, but no. Just no. I mean PV: Yeah, this one make this one makes me nervous. I think this is gonna be the hardest pick all year. Big Country: th I mean this is another case of just like, you know, yes, you played, you know, similar opponents and different results, but you know, it's sometimes it is just about the matchup itself, you know, how well do you guys match up against them? And sometimes I just don't feel like you guys match up that well against them. So but it is at home. You're gonna have that place will be rocking. But I feel like Chief's kingdom will will rise again in Denver. PV: No, yeah, I know. I th I think it'll be a really, really close game. it does make me nervous, but biggest thing, they just don't have any receivers right now. So we can Big Country: Yeah. PV: smother Kelsey. We g we sh we're not gonna we we better not play as shit at tackling as we did week one. That was our only problem. We haven't been that bad at tackling since Big Country: If you could stop Kenneth, you could probably win that game. PV: Yeah, exactly. And we haven't been nearly as bad at tackling since that game. So if we can just Big Country: Yeah, that's fair. PV: clean that up, it should definitely be a much, much better game. Big Country: Yeah. Yeah. All right, Patriots, Dolphins, Dolphins at home. Patriots are favored. By seven, they had like a little mini by that's not hard. Minus seven. New England. PV: I'll take New England Big Country: No. PV: to win, but I'm gonna take the Dolphins to cover. Just because the Dolphins always almost not o not always, but they seem to f occasionally have kind of a crazy game against the Patriots, even when they're this lesser team. I mean, I remember a few years back they had that crazy fucking lateral fucking screenplay where they ran down the field. No, Big Country: Dude, that was seven to ten years ago. PV: yeah, I know. But regardless, I I just always think back to that and they always seem to have those just you it's a division matchup. Division matchups always end up for whatever reason. Being close, teams just know each other well enough. So I'll take the Dolphins to have a miracle cover here. Big Country: All right. All right. The inner dwarfs Sunday night game. Eagles at Commanders. Don't know why they didn't f flex us out. I PV: Lame ass game. Big Country: I mean I would love to give me like plus six on the Eagles, but I don't think they're good enough to do that. So I like watching two minus PV: Nah Big Country: six. PV: yeah, I'm taking Washington minus six. Eagles offense just you know Tanner McKee are not hasn't really looked great all year, especially now that they have so many backfield injuries. Yeah. Devante Smith is still hurt. Yeah. I mean they really just Big Country: Still hurt. Dude, they had the most backfield injuries I've ever seen. That's ridiculous. PV: have so many so many injuries on that field that I just with the offensive struggles plus the injuries, it's just not gonna be it's a recipe for disaster for them. Big Country: For sure, for sure. Kind of nice game on Monday night. I we're seeing Seahawks and Bears a lot on prime time this season. But Bears at Seahawks. Seahawks Fred Minus three. I have no idea, but I'm gonna I I like the home team here. Fuck the bears. PV: I do too. you know, I think Seattle's gonna have it rocking. I think that this is gonna be a really tough defense for Caleb to face. You know, Caleb being Caleb probably should still have a pretty good game. but I I think that that defense that Seahawks defense really is something. I mean, Nick Emmanuari, they you can place him anywhere on the field and he either gives you pressure or he'll give you great coverage in a pick, big hits down the field, and then you have other studs all across that team. So Honestly, yeah, with how much the twelfth man can get that place rocking gave me the Seahawks to win and cover. Big Country: Yeah. And if the Seahawks can stop a good run game like the Bears do have, they did last week against the Chiefs, just let that boy feast on that secondary. Because that secondary is susceptible to to deep balls. we saw it against Green Bay two weeks ago. They were getting hammered. And now you have to face the best receiver in football. Good luck. PV: Yeah, yeah. Big Country: all right, well that leads us into our dono time, baby. NFL week eight bets. As we it's my time, man. It's my time to donate. We've been donating since week six. PV: Yeah. It's been Big Country: Both went both you went over three. I went two for three that time. I'll quickly share mine. Rogers over two hundred eighteen. He threw for two ninety nine against the Browns last time. I don't see why he can't do it again. maybe not three two ninety nine, but certainly two twenty. Baker, that line's low because he threw for last last time, but he's not he's gonna to throw against the Falcons over two sixteen and a half. And then I know you were hating on Chase Brown a little bit earlier. He's gonna do just fine. He's gonna he's gonna get these yards easy. The Titans give up a lot of yards on the ground and I think Chase Brown could be due for some type of game like that. Put that all in plus five sixty one. Probably gonna lose a unit. Let's be honest here, but you never know. PV: And then on my side here, I got Michael Wilson going for five catches. he's the target machine in that offense. And now he's going up against what I continue to pre-um say is a really shit offense or defense in the Cowboys. So I think he should be able to feast, especially since a lot of the attention should be mostly on Trey McBride. And then Antonio Williams, post bye week is going to be stepping up with Terry McLaurin being out for the season. there have been a couple comments from the coaching staff. Stefan Diggs doesn't seem like he'll actually have that much different of a role. So we should see Antonio Williams step into a much bigger role. And he has had a relatively decent role in this offense regardless. So thirty yards, especially with an increased role, should be pretty easy for him to hit, especially since Jaden Dales does seem to like him as a target as well. And then Demario Douglas, I think he steps up this week, has a Much better week than he had last week. He had been playing some really good games prior to last week and just didn't end up absorbing many targets this last game. Going up against Miami this week, I think that he should be able to s notch three catches easily this w in this one. And if you put all those together, it does come up to a four sixty-six as a part. Big Country: Not too bad. Not too bad. And I like to, wrap it up with something that I just I just had to show you, right? If you want to know how bad the refs were against Green Bay, just watch this video. So you're gonna see my man, right? Kick a fucking ref. Amonra did this, remember. Amonra PV: Mm. Big Country: kicked him. And we got penalized. Weed it. PV: Yeah, that's crazy. Big Country: How the fuck's that even make sense? Greatest ref throw I've ever seen, by the way. But I'll leave it I'll leave you with that. You know, just saying. That's how bad it was. Pray for us, bro. Pray for us. PV: Yeah, that's pretty bad. Big Country: and then I also have something to share, Pat. Quite possibly the greatest picture ever made was made on PV: God. What is this? Big Country: the plane back from Paris. PV: Stupid. Big Country: This is you if you guys wanna know what greatness is, just just pass Peyton Manning and all time touchdowns and then you look like that coming home like Kirko, dude he look he looks better than Kirkco. But that is PV: Cupid. It's like eighty years and fucking two people combined. Big Country: That is episode what? Are we on nineteen or twenty now? Can't remember. What'll I say nineteen? PV: I think we're past twenty a cloaky. I don't know. Pretty up there for sure. Big Country: I don't I know we're not in the twenties. But whatever episode it is, we appreciate you guys listening. Tune in next week for week nine. We'll certainly be back for it. And as always, AP to the moon. Peace. PV: Peace.
