- 0:00Leviticus chapter 13. Let us pray.
- 0:03Our Father, who is in heaven, holy is your name, your Kingdom
- 0:13come, and your will be done on earth, just as it is there in
- 0:18heaven. Give us this day Our Daily
- 0:21Bread. Forgive us for our many sins as
- 0:24we forgive those who trespassed against us.
- 0:28Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one for
- 0:33yours it's the Kingdom, and the glory and the power and the
- 0:37honor, forever and ever. Amen.
- 0:41Well, let's start in verse one. And the Lord spoke unto Moses
- 0:47and Aaron, saying, what did he say?
- 0:52Let's go to verse 2. When a man shall have in the
- 0:55skin of his flesh a rising, a scab, a bright spot, and it be
- 0:59in the skin of his flesh like the plague of a leprosy, then he
- 1:02shall be brought unto Aaron the priest, and unto one of his
- 1:05sons, the priests. So here's what you need to know
- 1:09is that all sin is like leprosy. You need to understand that
- 1:13everything that is outlined in this chapter relates to the sin
- 1:17in our life and it shows U as something that is just little
- 1:22and doesn't really matter and it might go away but what it does
- 1:26is overtime it grabs hold of us and we lose our life.
- 1:30All sin leads to death. No matter how fun it is in the
- 1:34beginning, no matter how little and mundane and minuscule it is
- 1:38in the beginning, in the end it bites like a Viper.
- 1:41In the end it leads to loss of limb and life and livelihood and
- 1:47it the loss of family and the loss of job and the loss of our
- 1:51minds and the loss of everything that is good and wholesome and
- 1:55pure and holy. Friends verse 3 And the priest
- 1:59shall look on the plague in the skin of the flesh, and when the
- 2:02hair in the plague is turned white and the plague insight is
- 2:06deeper than the skin in his flesh, it is a plague of
- 2:09leprosy. And the priest shall look on him
- 2:12and pronounce him unclean. And you see this in Jesus's day
- 2:16there was camps of lepers, friends.
- 2:19And by and large leprosy is still on the scene in the world,
- 2:23mostly in undeveloped countries. But you need to know, friends,
- 2:28the disease of sin has not gone anywhere.
- 2:32And as a matter of fact, it's only gotten worse.
- 2:35And Jesus told us that as time goes on, it's going to get worse
- 2:39and worse and worse. And if God had not shortened the
- 2:43days of the tribulation, no one would survive.
- 2:46It'll be worse than the days of Noah, friends, this sin disease
- 2:51that we house and we desperately need the blood of Jesus Christ
- 2:55to cover us. There is no hope apart from
- 2:59Jesus in the ultimate healing that he can give you, friends.
- 3:03And your eyes can be opened, and your ears can be unstopped, and
- 3:06a new heart can be cultivated, and a new life can be born.
- 3:11Friends five. And the priest shall look on him
- 3:16the 7th day. And behold, if the plague in his
- 3:19sight be at a stay, and the plague spread not in the skin,
- 3:23then the priest shall shut him up 7 days more.
- 3:26So this is what you need to know.
- 3:28The guy who had or the lady who had, the person who had the
- 3:32spots on them, they were required to go to the priest and
- 3:36to be looked over. And if they thought that it
- 3:40could be healed, they would shut them up for seven days.
- 3:44And you need to know, in the history of the Jewish nation,
- 3:49they have been spared and hate. They have not been completely
- 3:53eradicated because of their kosher diets.
- 3:56And because God all the way back here in the book of Leviticus,
- 4:00He knew well how to keep them going and fuelled and how to
- 4:04keep them on the scene until the very day that you and I live in.
- 4:09And they are not going anywhere. They will stand the test of time
- 4:16six, and the priest shall look on him again the 7th day and
- 4:19behold it the plague be somewhat dark, and the plague spread not
- 4:24in the skin. The priest shall pronounce him
- 4:26clean it it is but a scab, and he shall wash his clothes and be
- 4:30clean. Aren't we thankful that Jesus
- 4:33washes us and makes us clean? 7 But if the scab spread much
- 4:38abroad in the skin, after that has been seen of the priest for
- 4:42his cleansing, he shall be seen in the priest again. 8 And let
- 4:46the priest see that behold, the scab spreads in the skin, and
- 4:49the priest shall pronounce him unclean.
- 4:52It is leprosy. So this was relegated to many
- 4:56skin diseases, not just to leprosy.
- 4:59And you need to know that God here is giving them the
- 5:04prescription of how they are to operate within the camp as they
- 5:08move about and as they get into the cities and they are packed
- 5:13on top of each other. And even in the Black Plague
- 5:16that killed millions of people in Europe, the Jews were spared
- 5:21because of all the mandates that are outlined here.
- 5:24What an amazing God that we serve. 9 When the plague of
- 5:31leprosy is in a man, then he shall be brought unto the
- 5:34priest. 10 And the priest shall see him, and behold, if the
- 5:37rising be white in the skin, and if it had be turned the hair
- 5:41white, and there be quick raw flesh in the rising, 11 it is an
- 5:46old leprosy in the skin of his flesh, And the priest shall
- 5:49pronounce him unclean, and shall not shut him up, for he is
- 5:53unclean. 12 And if a leprosy break out abroad in the skin,
- 5:57and the leprosy cover all the of him that has the plague from his
- 6:01head even to his foot, wheresoever the priest looks,
- 6:05aren't you thankful that the blood of Jesus Christ covers us
- 6:08from the top of our head to the bottom of our feet?
- 6:11And we can stand before a holy God, and he's going to say, well
- 6:15done, good and faithful servant, come in to the rest that I have
- 6:20for you. Take charge over the cities.
- 6:23What an amazing God we serve. And here you can see that these
- 6:27people who were suffering from a skin disease were to go into a
- 6:31period of the priest, and they would look upon them, and then
- 6:34they would tell them what it they were to do. 13 Then the
- 6:42priest shall consider, and behold that the leprosy have
- 6:45covered all his flesh. He shall pronounce him clean.
- 6:48That has the plague. It is all turned white.
- 6:51He is clean. So when it's all turned white
- 6:53and not dark friends, then it was healing and it had
- 6:57miraculously healed, or it was not leprosy and it was just
- 7:02something that had healed on its own.
- 7:04And that is what he's talking about here.
- 7:06He did not want this infectious disease to break out in the camp
- 7:11and to eradicate the Jews. 14. But when raw flesh appears in
- 7:20him, he shall be unclean. 15. And the priest shall see the raw
- 7:24flesh and pronounce him to be unclean, for the raw flesh is
- 7:28unclean. It is a leprosy. 16 Or if the
- 7:31raw flesh turn again and changed into white, he shall come to the
- 7:36priest, 17 And the priest shall see him, and behold, if the
- 7:39plague be turned into white, then the priest shall pronounce
- 7:42him clean, that he has the plague.
- 7:44He is clean. So here they could be healed.
- 7:48It was not just a death sentence forever.
- 7:51It could have been a misdiagnosis, it could have been
- 7:53a miraculous healing. It could have been some other
- 7:56skin condition. But you need to know that it was
- 8:00not all hopeless. And when you come to the Lord
- 8:02Jesus Christ there is only hope. Even in death there's hope. 18
- 8:09the flesh also, in which even the skin thereof was a boil, and
- 8:12is healed. 19 And in the place of the boil there be a white
- 8:16rising, or a bright spot white and somewhat reddish, and it be
- 8:20showed to the priest. 20 And if when the priest sees it, behold
- 8:25it be in the sight lower than the skin, and the hair thereof
- 8:29be turned white, the priest shall pronounce him unclean.
- 8:32Is a plague of leprosy broken out of the boil?
- 8:3621 But if the priest look on it and behold, there'd be no white
- 8:39hairs in it, and it'd be no lower than the skin, but be
- 8:43somewhat dark, then the priest shall shut him up 7 days. 22 And
- 8:48if it's spread much abroad in the skin, then the priest shall
- 8:52pronounce him unclean. It is a plague. 23 But if the
- 8:55bright spots stay in this place and spread not, it is a burning
- 8:59boil, and the priest shall pronounce out some clean. 24 And
- 9:03if there be any flesh in the skin where there's a hot burning
- 9:06in the quick flesh that burns, have a white bright spot,
- 9:09somewhat reddish or white. 25 Then the priest shall look upon
- 9:13it, and behold, if the hair in the bright spot be turned white,
- 9:17and it be insight deeper than the skin, it is a leprosy broken
- 9:22out of the burning, wherefore the priest shall pronounce him
- 9:25unclean. It is a plague of leprosy.
- 9:28This is the way that sin works, friends.
- 9:30It creeps send unaware, it grabs a hold of you, and it strangles
- 9:34out all of the fruit and all of the life. 26 But if the priest
- 9:40look on it, and behold there be no white hair in the bright
- 9:43spot, and it be no lower than the other skin, but be somewhat
- 9:47dark, then the priest shall shut him up 7 days. 27.
- 9:51And the priest shall look upon him the 7th day, and if it be
- 9:54spread much abroad in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce
- 9:58him unclean. It is the plague of leprosy. 20
- 10:01And if the bright spots stay in his place, and spread not in the
- 10:04skin, but it be somewhat dark, it is a rising of the burning,
- 10:08and the priest shall pronounce among clean, for it is an
- 10:11inflammation of the burning. 29 Or if a man or a woman have a
- 10:15plague upon the head or the beard, 30 then the priest shall
- 10:19see the plague, and behold, if it be in the sight deeper than
- 10:23the skin, and there being it a yellow thin hair, then the
- 10:26priest shall pronounce them unclean.
- 10:28It is a dry skull, even a leprosy upon the head or the
- 10:32beard. 31 And if the priest look on the plague of the skull, and
- 10:35behold it be not in the sight deeper than the skin, and there
- 10:39be no black hair in it, then the shall shut up him that has the
- 10:43plague of the skull seven days. 32 And in the 7th day the priest
- 10:47shall look on the plague, and behold, if the skull spread not,
- 10:51and there be in it no yellow hair, then the skull be not in
- 10:54the sight deeper than the skin. 33 He shall be shaved, but the
- 10:59skull shall he not shave, and the priest shall shut him up to
- 11:03have the skull seven days more. 34 And in the 7th day, and the
- 11:07priest shall look on the skull, and behold at the skull be not
- 11:10spread in the skin, nor be in the sight deeper than the skin.
- 11:13Then the priest shall pronounce him clean, and he shall wash his
- 11:17clothes and be clean. 35 But if the skull spread much, and the
- 11:21skin after his cleansing, 36th And the priest shall look on
- 11:25him, and behold, if the skull be spread in the skin, then the
- 11:28priest shall not seek for the yellow hair, for he is unclean.
- 11:3237 But if the skull be in his sight at a stay, and there be a
- 11:37black hair grown up in it, the skull is healed, he is clean,
- 11:41and the priest shall pronounce clean. 38 If a man also or a
- 11:45woman having the skin of their flesh bright spots, even white
- 11:49bright spots, 39 then the priest shall look and behold at the
- 11:52bright spots in the skin of the flesh be darkish white.
- 11:56It is a freckle spot that groweth in the skin.
- 11:58He is clean. 40 And if the man whose hair is falling off of his
- 12:03head, he is bald, yet he is clean.
- 12:07So what you need to know, friends, in this many verses is
- 12:10that they were protecting the camp.
- 12:13It was better to isolate one individual to a life of demise
- 12:20in the life of hurt and agony than for the entire camp to be
- 12:25affected and infected and for it to break out and kill off an
- 12:30entire generation. What an amazing God we serve.
- 12:34He's even in the science, and science is nothing more than
- 12:38thinking God's thoughts after God.
- 12:40When we discover things, microorganisms and how diseases
- 12:45work and infectious diseases and the virology of how things are
- 12:49spread, you need to know that God already had it all in His
- 12:52mind. We are not outpacing God.
- 12:55We're just trying to catch up with the infinite mind of God.
- 12:59That's what you need to know. He is clean if he's bald, 41 And
- 13:03he that has his hair fallen off from the part of his head
- 13:07towards his face, he is forehead bald, yet he is clean. 42 And if
- 13:13there be in the bald head or a bald forehead, a white reddish
- 13:17sword, it is a leprosy sprung up in the bald head or his bald
- 13:21forehead. 43 Then the priest shall look upon it, and behold,
- 13:27if the rising of the sore be white, reddish in his bald head,
- 13:31or in his bald forehead, as the leprosy appears in the skin of
- 13:35the flesh, 44 he is a leprous man, he is unclean.
- 13:39The priest shall pronounce him utterly unclean.
- 13:42His plague is in his head. 45 And if the leper in whom the
- 13:46plague is, his clothes shall be rent, and his head bare, and he
- 13:50shall put a covering upon his upper lip, and shall cry
- 13:53unclean, unclean. So this is what you see in
- 13:57Jesus's day. You see that the lepers were to
- 14:02stay afar off, and if anybody was to come near, they were to
- 14:06cry out unclean and unclean. And we see that Jesus was not
- 14:10afraid of the lepers. Jesus went into their midst, and
- 14:14Jesus healed him. And he could do the same for
- 14:17you, and he could do the same for me today.
- 14:19But he believes you in that disease.
- 14:21If he leaves you in that sickness, friends, there is much
- 14:25more glory for for him. Perhaps it's the nurses, the
- 14:28doctors, the intake staff. Perhaps it's the people at the
- 14:31hospital. Perhaps it's those who are going
- 14:34to be coming into your home and talking with you that God is
- 14:38after. And even in death, there's
- 14:40liberation and liberty and freedom.
- 14:42Friends, we do not need to fear death.
- 14:44Jesus conquered the grave, friends, and you can step on the
- 14:48head of the heel of the snake. You could give him his marching
- 14:52orders and tell him to leave. Fear must go.
- 14:55It cannot cohabitate with us, friends.
- 14:57We do not need to fear death. We do not need to fear disease.
- 15:01We do not need to fear those who can take our life away.
- 15:04We fear God, and everything else bows unto a holy God. 46 All the
- 15:16days wherein the plague shall be in him, he shall be defiled, he
- 15:19is unclean, he shall dwell alone outside the camp shall his
- 15:23habitation be. 47 The garment also that the plague of the
- 15:27leprosy is in, whether it be a wool garment or a linen garment,
- 15:3148 whether it be in the warp, or in the wolf, or in the linen or
- 15:34woolen, whether in the skin or anything made of skin. 49 And if
- 15:39the plague be greenish or reddish in the garment or the
- 15:41skin, either in the warp or the wolf, or anything in the skin,
- 15:45and it is a plague of leprosy, and shall be showed unto the
- 15:48priest. 50 And the priest shall look upon the plague and shut it
- 15:51up. It has the plague 7 days. 51 And
- 15:54he shall look upon the plague on the 7th day.
- 15:57If the plague be spread in the garment, either in the warp or
- 15:59the woof, or in the skin, or any work that isn't made of the
- 16:02skin, the plague is a fretting leprosy, it is unclean. 52 And
- 16:07he shall therefore burn that garment, whether wolf or woolen
- 16:13or linen or anything in the skin, where the plague is, for
- 16:17it is a fretting leprosy. It shall be burnt in the fire.
- 16:20So that is the mandate for anything that is touched, this
- 16:24leprosy or mildew or mold or whatever the infectious thing
- 16:28is, if it is a spreading thing, it is to be burned up.
- 16:31And this was to keep them from being sick. 53 And if the priest
- 16:38shall look, and behold the plague be not spreaded the
- 16:41garment either in the warp or the wolf, or anything of the
- 16:43skin, 54. Then the priest shall command
- 16:46that they wash the thing wherein the plague is, and he shall shut
- 16:49it up 7 days more. 55. And the priest shall look on the
- 16:53plague after that it is washed, and beholdeth the plague have
- 16:56not charged his color, and the plague be not spread.
- 16:58It is unclean thou shall you burn it in the fire.
- 17:02It is fret inward, whether it be bare within or without. 50 And
- 17:07if the priest look and behold the plague be somewhat dark
- 17:10after the washing of it, then he shall RIP it out of the garment,
- 17:13or out of the skin, or out of the warp, or out of the wolf. 57
- 17:17If they appear still in the garment, either in the warp or
- 17:20in the wolf, or anything of the skin, it is a spreading plague.
- 17:23And you shall burn that wherein the plague is with fire. 58 And
- 17:27the garment either warp or wolf, or whatsoever thing of skin it
- 17:31be, then you shall wash it. The plague be departed from
- 17:34them. Then they shall be washed the
- 17:35second time and shall be clean. So if they wanted to keep this
- 17:40material, whether it was leather or wool or whatever the material
- 17:45was, and it was looked upon and it had not spread, they could
- 17:48cut off the section that had the mildew, the mold, or whatever
- 17:52the infectious disease was. They could cut it off and wash
- 17:55it twice and keep it. God even cares about the
- 18:00coverings, friends. He cares about everything.
- 18:04Well then on 59. This is the law of the plague of
- 18:06leprosy in the garment of woolen or linen, either in the Wharf or
- 18:10the wolf or anything of skins. To pronounce it clean or to
- 18:14pronounce it unclean. And you can be clean by being
- 18:17covered in the blood of Jesus Christ.
- 18:19You don't have to stay unclean. You don't have to stay outside.
- 18:22You can come into the fold. His sheep hear his voice.
- 18:26I pray that you do. I pray that you've been covered
- 18:28in the blood. I pray that you are His and you
- 18:30belong to Him, and He knows you. And when the door is open and
- 18:34then the groom comes, we go in as the wise versions and we're
- 18:37not left out. Friends, look up and see your
- 18:40redemption is drawing near. I hope that you've been blessed
- 18:43by this amazing chapter in God's Word.
- 18:46I know I sure have. I'm praying for every single one
- 18:49of you. I love you.
- 18:52We'll see you back here tomorrow.
- 18:53God bless you.
