- 0:23Speaker 2: the morning. Hey, good morning. Welcome to your Tuesday. It
- 0:28Speaker 2: is Mix 102.9, Ability Kid, Candice Lopez. Producer Pooh is here. Oh, Candice,
- 0:33Speaker 2: what's up with you?
- 0:34Speaker 4: Oh, I just realized I have an unhealthy addiction to crackers.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Crackers?
- 0:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I just, I eat a lot of crackers. Sometimes
- 0:41Speaker 4: I'll snack and eat crackers, and I'm like, I think
- 0:43Speaker 4: I'm full on multiple crackers. I'll start with one, and
- 0:46Speaker 4: then I'll be like, ah, let me switch to this cracker.
- 0:49Speaker 2: And.
- 0:50Speaker 4: Yesterday, you were talking about Ritz crackers. Oh, yeah. And how, like,
- 0:53Speaker 4: something's changed with them. You don't know what happened.
- 0:56Speaker 1: I'm a cracker kind of sewer, too, apparently.
- 0:59Speaker 5: Yeah, I know.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Something's weird about them, right?
- 1:01Speaker 4: Something's weird about them. They've, like, changed their recipe or whatever.
- 1:03Speaker 4: But then they announced today that they're going to release
- 1:05Speaker 4: gluten-free crackers for the first time.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Oh.
- 1:08Speaker 4: Yeah, but I brought you the alternative that I eat
- 1:10Speaker 4: that's like a Ritz cracker.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Oh, God. Here we go.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Thank you, Candice. Yeah, you're welcome.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Oh, that's so nice.
- 1:15Speaker 4: What is it called? Nature made?
- 1:17Speaker 2: Back to nature.
- 1:18Speaker 4: Back to nature.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Classic round crackers.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Healthy, huh?
- 1:20Speaker 2: Oh, it's healthy. No artificial colors or flavors. Yeah.
- 1:24Speaker 6: Okay.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Okay, okay. I appreciate that. Thank you.
- 1:27Speaker 4: So, you know, I went to the grocery store yesterday,
- 1:28Speaker 4: and I thought, let me just see what he thinks
- 1:30Speaker 4: of these. So if you want a taste of later,
- 1:32Speaker 4: let me know.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Well, I appreciate that because I know this little tiny
- 1:35Speaker 2: box was at least $ 28.
- 1:36Speaker 4: No, it was like $ 3.
- 1:39Speaker 3: 99.
- 1:39Speaker 2: This is the problem with trying to eat good. You
- 1:41Speaker 2: can't because it's so expensive. Yeah.
- 1:43Speaker 1: But there is something different about Ritz Crack. I love
- 1:46Speaker 1: Ritz Crackers.
- 1:47Speaker 4: Yeah, same.
- 1:47Speaker 2: I used to eat them all the time. My grandma
- 1:50Speaker 2: would eat them when I was growing up, so I'd
- 1:51Speaker 2: eat cheese and crackers every once in a while, and
- 1:53Speaker 2: I ate some the other day, and I thought, this
- 1:55Speaker 2: tastes so weird. Then I saw this big article online
- 1:57Speaker 2: that they changed something, and it tastes weird.
- 1:59Speaker 4: They reduced salt and sugar, I think, and changed oils.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Oh, see, come on.
- 2:04Speaker 1: You can't do that.
- 2:05Speaker 4: So that's what's going on with Ritz. Do you want
- 2:07Speaker 4: your cracker update today?
- 2:08Speaker 2: Cracker news on the 20s.
- 2:12Speaker 1: What about those townhouse.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Crackers, too?
- 2:15Speaker 4: Those are good.
- 2:15Speaker 2: How are we doing cracker talk?
- 2:17Speaker 1: Cracker talk.
- 2:18Speaker 2: While we're at it, how about chicken and a biscuit crackers?
- 2:20Speaker 4: That top cracker of all time.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Yeah, all powdery. Right.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Are we doing a list right now of top crackers?
- 2:28Speaker 4: We kind of are. I'm sorry I led you into
- 2:30Speaker 4: that by accident.
- 2:31Speaker 2: All right, Candace.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Well, thank you very much for the crackers.
- 2:33Speaker 4: There's your crackers.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Enjoy. I will enjoy them. Established in 1960, it says.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Really?
- 2:37Speaker 2: Just like Producer Pooh.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Whoa, no, you did.
- 2:39Speaker 2: What's up, Pooh?
- 2:41Speaker 6: Yeah, well, yesterday I had to take myself to the
- 2:43Speaker 6: movies because when I got home, I didn't have no power.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Encore was doing something. So I took myself to the movies.
- 2:49Speaker 6: And let me tell you, if you go to the
- 2:50Speaker 6: movies on a Monday, ain't nobody there. And everybody's just
- 2:54Speaker 6: hooking me. Man, I got free popcorn.
- 2:57Speaker 4: No kidding.
- 2:58Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Sat in the theater.
- 2:59Speaker 2: I thought you were eating good. Huh?
- 3:00Speaker 1: Well, I mean, I was at the theater. There's nothing
- 3:02Speaker 1: healthy at the theater. Well, or you just.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Not eat at the theater. And you know what?
- 3:06Speaker 1: I didn't get the big bucket. I just got the
- 3:08Speaker 1: little kiddie tray.
- 3:09Speaker 2: And I got refilled it eight times.
- 3:11Speaker 1: No, I got fruit snacks instead of getting sour patch.
- 3:14Speaker 6: That's candy.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Sour patch kids.
- 3:16Speaker 2: That's candy.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Why?
- 3:17Speaker 2: Fruit snacks is candy.
- 3:18Speaker 4: It's a baby step. We'll take it.
- 3:20Speaker 1: And I got a Dasani water. Okay.
- 3:22Speaker 2: High in sodium.
- 3:23Speaker 3: Awesome. All right.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Okay, good. What did you see?
- 3:30Speaker 1: Street Fighter.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Oh, how was it?
- 3:32Speaker 1: Oh, it was good.
- 3:33Speaker 4: Yeah, number one over the weekend.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Yeah, my kids are going to be mad, but oh well.
- 3:37Speaker 2: How many movies did you see? I only stayed for one. Okay,
- 3:41Speaker 2: usually he goes in and sneaks in 15 different movies. Okay, well,
- 3:43Speaker 2: I ain't going to lie to you.
- 3:45Speaker 6: My movie hadn't started yet, so I did creep into
- 3:48Speaker 6: the Brad Pitt movie.
- 3:49Speaker 1: How did you do that? I mean, I was there.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Who wants to see the end of another movie?
- 3:54Speaker 6: No, I walked in like the middle of it, but
- 3:57Speaker 6: it looks good. You need to go see that movie.
- 3:59Speaker 1: He's got a German Shepherd.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Speaking of, it was Trigger's birthday yesterday, and both of
- 4:04Speaker 2: you didn't text him happy birthday. Oh, I forgot. I DM.
- 4:07Speaker 4: Didn't I?
- 4:08Speaker 2: No.
- 4:08Speaker 4: I hearted it.
- 4:09Speaker 2: You didn't.
- 4:09Speaker 4: I heart-ided him, right?
- 4:11Speaker 2: No. Are you sure?
- 4:12Speaker 1: He's offended.
- 4:13Speaker 2: I think I sent him a fire.
- 4:14Speaker 6: I sent a fire emoji when you were singing happy birthday.
- 4:16Speaker 1: It was my dog's birthday.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:18Speaker 1: And I celebrate.
- 4:18Speaker 4: I said happy birthday to him on the radio, so.
- 4:21Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Okay. Well, he wasn't listening. Oh.
- 4:23Speaker 4: All right.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Him.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Okay, fine.
- 4:26Speaker 2: You're safe. He's mad at Uncle Pooh.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Oh, man.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Just letting you know. I was getting some hate yesterday
- 4:33Speaker 2: on my Instagram.
- 4:34Speaker 4: For what?
- 4:35Speaker 2: You buy your dog a little cake and ice cream?
- 4:38Speaker 4: Of course.
- 4:39Speaker 1: And I was like, yes.
- 4:41Speaker 2: I celebrated. I'm like, you're such a hate Pooh. That's Pooh.
- 4:45Speaker 2: He's like, I can't believe you do this.
- 4:47Speaker 4: You know dogs have hearts and brains, right?
- 4:48Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 4:49Speaker 6: The only reason I hate is because when I come over,
- 4:52Speaker 6: Trigger eats better than I do.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Billy's like, I don't know, just get something out of
- 4:55Speaker 1: the refrigerator.
- 4:55Speaker 6: And then I look, he's cooking a steak for Trigger.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:00Speaker 2: My second son.
- 5:01Speaker 1: I'm like, I can't eat that, Dad.
- 5:03Speaker 2: No.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Come on.
- 5:05Speaker 2: No. I don't care what you say. We're celebrating my
- 5:08Speaker 2: dog's birthday.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Yes, let's do it.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Pooh, shut up. You're not celebrating.
- 5:14Speaker 1: You were making fun of me yesterday for it.
- 5:17Speaker 3: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 5:19Speaker 3: Kid in the Morning.
- 5:20Speaker 4: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 5:22Speaker 2: All right, Candace Lopez, what is going on?
- 5:25Speaker 4: Well, we got sweater weather in the morning, shorts in
- 5:27Speaker 4: the afternoon. We're going to be back in the 80s
- 5:29Speaker 4: starting today through the rest of the week. No rain
- 5:31Speaker 4: in sight. It's 58 right now. It's weird this time
- 5:34Speaker 4: of the day because, like, the temperature is still dropping. Like,
- 5:36Speaker 4: a few minutes ago, I was like, oh, it's 59.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Now it's 58. I was trying so hard not to
- 5:40Speaker 1: turn on my A.C.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Yesterday. I just don't want to do it. Yeah.
- 5:45Speaker 1: But I feel like today I'm going to have to.
- 5:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:47Speaker 4: We'll see. Guys, Apple announced a product event for October 28th.
- 5:51Speaker 4: The event is called Pro Intel. They're expected to debut
- 5:55Speaker 4: a touchscreen Mac in this event. which is interesting because
- 5:59Speaker 4: my kiddo, every time he uses my laptop, he thinks
- 6:03Speaker 4: the screen's supposed to work.
- 6:04Speaker 1: I was going to say, isn't that just an iPad?
- 6:06Speaker 4: Well, they're also going to be focusing on their iPad lineup. But, yeah,
- 6:10Speaker 4: I mean, it'll be interesting. I don't know if I
- 6:11Speaker 4: need that necessarily.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Do we need any of this?
- 6:15Speaker 4: Well, I do need a new laptop. Mine's like five
- 6:17Speaker 4: or six years old.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Yours has been tripping. It's crazy to me, though, that
- 6:21Speaker 2: you have to get a new laptop as quick as
- 6:23Speaker 2: you do nowadays.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 6:25Speaker 2: It's someone like I had to get one and they
- 6:26Speaker 2: were like, well, yours is just outdated. I'm like, it's
- 6:29Speaker 2: four years old.
- 6:30Speaker 4: I know the way the technology improves so fast, but like, yeah,
- 6:34Speaker 4: I mean, mine is I'm overdue, but I just like
- 6:36Speaker 4: my laptop. So this is good. This is me maturing
- 6:38Speaker 4: and aging and not needing like the hot new thing
- 6:40Speaker 4: all the time when technology.
- 6:42Speaker 1: You see, I like that, but I also feel like
- 6:44Speaker 1: it's a sign we're getting old.
- 6:45Speaker 2: It is.
- 6:45Speaker 1: When you're, like, content with the phone you have.
- 6:47Speaker 2: I know. Like, I'm fine with my 11. I wouldn't have.
- 6:50Speaker 4: Upgraded if my husband Eric hadn't wanted to upgrade. And
- 6:53Speaker 4: he did all the research and was like, no, we
- 6:54Speaker 4: just trade it in.
- 6:55Speaker 1: It's just whatever.
- 6:56Speaker 4: It's like, no big deal. You're not really paying for
- 6:57Speaker 4: the phone the way you think you are.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:00Speaker 4: Yeah, this is going to be their third product event
- 7:02Speaker 4: of the.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Season, though.
- 7:03Speaker 4: So just a heads up, if you do need new electronics...
- 7:06Speaker 4: Stay tuned. Guys, Selena Gomez is going viral for saying
- 7:10Speaker 4: her old vaping addiction permanently changed her voice. So she says,
- 7:15Speaker 4: if you can't stand the sound of my voice these days,
- 7:18Speaker 4: it ain't changing. She says, you know, vaping just not
- 7:21Speaker 4: worth it, that she's excited she stopped and hopes she
- 7:24Speaker 4: can keep it up. Yeah, interesting to see that going viral.
- 7:28Speaker 4: Kind of came out of nowhere.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Well, I think it's a good thing she's saying it because,
- 7:30Speaker 2: I don't know, I mean, I don't vape or smoke
- 7:32Speaker 2: or anything.
- 7:33Speaker 1: And I don't judge people who do. Do whatever you
- 7:35Speaker 1: want to do.
- 7:35Speaker 4: Yeah, it's your deal.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Yeah, it's your deal. But I do feel like it's
- 7:38Speaker 2: becoming one of those things where you'll see younger people
- 7:41Speaker 2: have one of those vapes in their hand. Like, it's
- 7:42Speaker 2: a part of who they are.
- 7:44Speaker 4: Yeah, like their phone.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Yeah, even some of my friends. Like, they just have
- 7:47Speaker 2: that vape with them at all times to the point
- 7:49Speaker 2: where it's just like... Yeah. It's just such a crutch
- 7:52Speaker 2: thing they do. It's such an addiction and it does
- 7:54Speaker 2: have such major effects. On your voice, on your lungs.
- 7:58Speaker 2: And I just don't think that, well, at least it's
- 8:00Speaker 2: not smoking.
- 8:01Speaker 1: And I'm like, it's not great.
- 8:04Speaker 2: It's not great. Yeah.
- 8:05Speaker 4: She, you know, said, you know, nicotine's hard to quit.
- 8:07Speaker 4: She just wanted to tell people if you're going through
- 8:09Speaker 4: it or if you're even trying to vape, just not
- 8:11Speaker 4: worth it. She regrets it for sure. So hopefully she
- 8:14Speaker 4: can stick to that. But especially when your voice is
- 8:17Speaker 4: part of your work, you know, you don't want it
- 8:19Speaker 4: changing on top of the health, you know, concerns.
- 8:21Speaker 2: I just knew when I was younger, I'm like, if
- 8:23Speaker 2: I ever, I've been a very addictive personality. Mm-hmm. So
- 8:26Speaker 2: I knew if I started doing anything like that, I
- 8:29Speaker 2: know I won't stop. You know, I know if I
- 8:31Speaker 2: started doing any kind of, you know, Funny business.
- 8:36Speaker 4: Funny business.
- 8:37Speaker 1: I like that. That I would have just loved it
- 8:39Speaker 1: too much.
- 8:40Speaker 4: Yeah, no more funny business.
- 8:41Speaker 2: No more funny business.
- 8:42Speaker 4: Yeah, you're good. All right, I'm Candace Lopez. Those are
- 8:45Speaker 4: your Texas Top Stories on.
- 8:47Speaker 2: It's Mix 102.9. Bill of the Kid, Candace Lopez, Producer Pooh.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Something's wrong with our phones.
- 8:52Speaker 4: Yay!
- 8:53Speaker 2: Well, they're all ringing in the other room.
- 8:55Speaker 4: I know, I see them.
- 8:56Speaker 2: They're ringing over there, but I can't answer them in here.
- 8:59Speaker 3: Why?
- 8:59Speaker 2: Because, you know what? Because one day... When is it
- 9:03Speaker 2: going to happen where everything goes right in this studio?
- 9:05Speaker 2: I know. Never.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Look, we got carpet on the walls. We have carpet
- 9:10Speaker 1: from 1978 on the wall.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Yeah, we do.
- 9:13Speaker 4: We do a flat screen TV, finally.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, we do. Yes, we do. Do we have
- 9:17Speaker 2: a winner, Pooh? Yeah, we do. Mr.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Matt Glickman from Denton, Texas.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Matt and Denton. Hi, Matt.
- 9:25Speaker 3: Hey!
- 9:25Speaker 1: Congratulations, Matt and Denton.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Dancing with the Stars. You are going to be there.
- 9:30Speaker 2: By the way, Denton... Halloween capital of Texas. I didn't
- 9:33Speaker 2: even know that until the other day.
- 9:34Speaker 4: I need to go see it.
- 9:35Speaker 1: I heard it's like so awesome this time of the year.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:37Speaker 1: I'm going to go up there. Do it.
- 9:39Speaker 2: The problem is once I get up there, Candice.
- 9:41Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 9:42Speaker 1: I'm very close to Windstar. You just drive on.
- 9:45Speaker 4: You can hear the slots from Denton.
- 9:47Speaker 2: No, I really can.
- 9:48Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 9:49Speaker 1: I can hear me just winning a million dollars.
- 9:52Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:53Speaker 2: So I'm like.
- 9:53Speaker 4: Well, just go up there.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Where? You know where.
- 9:57Speaker 4: We can't say where.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Windstar?
- 9:58Speaker 4: Yeah. I'll say it.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Yeah, what are you talking about?
- 10:01Speaker 1: You want to go?
- 10:02Speaker 2: Sure. Okay. Are you ready? We got to do real
- 10:05Speaker 2: or fake news right now. Congratulations, Matt.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Sorry the phones aren't working. We're going to fix that.
- 10:09Speaker 2: We're going to call our IT department and our tech
- 10:11Speaker 2: team to get on it.
- 10:13Speaker 4: And put in a ticket.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Yeah, we got to put in a ticket.
- 10:15Speaker 1: That's right.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Yeah, see what happens when you do something, something doesn't
- 10:18Speaker 2: work here, you got to put in a ticket.
- 10:20Speaker 5: Right.
- 10:20Speaker 2: And then you put in that ticket and then our
- 10:22Speaker 2: team of engineers get on it based on its urgency. Right.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Which I know where we rank.
- 10:27Speaker 4: The craziest process ever.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Hey, we're off the air. Well, you got to put
- 10:32Speaker 1: in a ticket. Oh, okay.
- 10:34Speaker 2: You're in the queue.
- 10:35Speaker 1: You're in the queue.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Hey, my computer doesn't work. Well, email us a ticket.
- 10:40Speaker 2: My computer doesn't work. Well, mail us a ticket.
- 10:43Speaker 4: Send me your IP address.
- 10:44Speaker 1: All right.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Real or fake news. I'm going to give you three headlines.
- 10:48Speaker 2: You got to tell me which one. Is the fake one.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Headline number one. City council candidate tells voters he has
- 10:54Speaker 2: no idea what he's doing. And he won. What? Yep. Okay.
- 10:59Speaker 2: City council candidate tells voters he has no idea what
- 11:02Speaker 2: he's doing. And he won. Headline number two. Principal under
- 11:06Speaker 2: fire after introducing mandatory deodorant checks for his middle school students.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Principal under fire after introducing mandatory deodorant checks for his
- 11:16Speaker 2: middle school students. Wow. That's a good thing. Stinkies. Headline
- 11:20Speaker 2: number three. Dad removed from stadium after using a double
- 11:24Speaker 2: stroller to sneak in 48 beers. Dad removed from stadium
- 11:30Speaker 2: after using a double stroller to sneak in 48 beers.
- 11:34Speaker 2: There you go. I got twins. Three headlines.
- 11:40Speaker 1: You've got to tell me which one is the fake one.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Candice usually kicks it off first, but you get the
- 11:44Speaker 2: choice to pass it to Pooh. I do. Or do
- 11:46Speaker 2: whatever you want to do.
- 11:47Speaker 4: Yeah, I really was thinking about passing it to Pooh today,
- 11:50Speaker 4: but I just have to pick the stroller beer story.
- 11:53Speaker 2: You do? Yeah. Are you sure you want to do that?
- 11:55Speaker 4: Yeah, lock me in.
- 11:57Speaker 2: All right. Wait, did I lock it in?
- 11:59Speaker 4: Yeah, you did.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Our lock-in button's working, right?
- 12:01Speaker 1: Oh, good.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Wait. It is working. Perfect.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Okay, phones, no.
- 12:06Speaker 2: Computers, no. But our lock-in button's working. Good. All right,
- 12:10Speaker 2: you are locked in. You think that's the fake story.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Thank you. Let me take it to Producer Pooh. Pooh,
- 12:13Speaker 2: which one do you think is fake? That second story,
- 12:16Speaker 2: implementing the deodorant rule.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Okay.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Deodorant checkpoints. Yeah.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Let's lock that in right now. Deodorant checkpoint, yeah.
- 12:24Speaker 2: We need that some places here at work. Boy. I'm
- 12:27Speaker 2: just telling you. I mean, that's bad. When you work
- 12:29Speaker 2: with somebody who just kind of has that funk.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Yeah. And they don't even realize it.
- 12:34Speaker 2: I know.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, no, I ain't stinking.
- 12:38Speaker 3: No, you didn't.
- 12:39Speaker 1: No, I ain't stinking.
- 12:40Speaker 2: No, I'm just kidding. All right, you are locked in.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Let me lock it again, just for good luck's sake.
- 12:46Speaker 2: And the winner today is... Pooh! Yeah, Pooh won. That
- 12:59Speaker 2: story is fake. Principal is not under fire for introducing
- 13:02Speaker 2: mandatory deodorant checks for his middle school students. Not a
- 13:06Speaker 2: bad idea, though. Not a bad idea.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Middle schoolers sometimes don't know that they stink.
- 13:11Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Yeah. Some people just don't.
- 13:14Speaker 1: You get used to your own body smell is what
- 13:16Speaker 1: it is.
- 13:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:16Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying?
- 13:17Speaker 1: So you're just like, I don't smell that. It's like
- 13:18Speaker 1: people with cats.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Right.
- 13:21Speaker 1: They get used to the litter box smell. Yeah, for sure.
- 13:23Speaker 2: And somebody else walks in and you're like, whoa. Whoa,
- 13:25Speaker 2: what's wrong?
- 13:26Speaker 3: Whoa.
- 13:27Speaker 2: It smells like doo-doo in here. That's what's wrong. All right,
- 13:32Speaker 2: let's get to the real stories. The dad removed from
- 13:35Speaker 2: a stadium after using a double stroller to sneak in
- 13:39Speaker 2: 48 beers.
- 13:40Speaker 4: Oh, my God.
- 13:41Speaker 2: This guy is a pure legend on security cameras. It
- 13:45Speaker 2: shows this guy because who really checks a stroller for babies?
- 13:48Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Do they check?
- 13:49Speaker 4: They're sleeping. Don't mess with them.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Right.
- 13:52Speaker 2: This guy had a double stroller like he had twins.
- 13:54Speaker 1: He had blankets over him.
- 13:56Speaker 2: They looked all cozy. He's going through, and he's like, yeah, just,
- 13:58Speaker 2: you know, just get the... The girls are sleeping. And
- 14:02Speaker 2: they're like, oh, okay.
- 14:03Speaker 1: And then one guy's like, really?
- 14:05Speaker 2: Let me just... Can you just pull the blanket back
- 14:07Speaker 2: a little bit? Just see... Yeah.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Yeah, let me.
- 14:09Speaker 2: No, not... Okay, I guess I will. A little bit.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Not enough.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Then pulls it back, and there's 48 cans of beer.
- 14:15Speaker 2: No way!
- 14:19Speaker 1: What an absolute legend.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Right? That guy's a genius.
- 14:23Speaker 1: I mean, does anybody else sneak in stuff to games
- 14:25Speaker 1: or the movies?
- 14:26Speaker 2: I know Pooh does. Oh, yeah.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Snacks to movies all the time.
- 14:29Speaker 2: I used to.
- 14:29Speaker 4: I've definitely snuck in some snacks, yeah.
- 14:31Speaker 2: I remember when I was a kid, I mean, I
- 14:33Speaker 2: guess we were trash. But we used to go to, like,
- 14:36Speaker 2: the circus and stuff. And, like, the zoo. And I
- 14:40Speaker 2: remember my mom having me put hot dogs wrapped in tinfoil, like,
- 14:44Speaker 2: down my pants and stuff.
- 14:46Speaker 4: Down your pants?
- 14:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:48Speaker 4: Did you have extra pockets in there?
- 14:51Speaker 2: No. Wow. I guess it was just like, I don't know,
- 14:54Speaker 2: put it down there so we don't get caught. They're
- 14:57Speaker 2: not going to check me when I was a kid,
- 14:59Speaker 2: so I had hot dogs, hamburgers wrapped in tinfoil.
- 15:02Speaker 4: Good for you.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Mom had ketchup packets in her purses.
- 15:05Speaker 4: I'm not spending $ 28 for a hot dog.
- 15:07Speaker 2: No, so....
- 15:11Speaker 4: Yeah, why would you do that?
- 15:12Speaker 2: All right, kids, gather around Billy's pants and come get
- 15:14Speaker 2: some of these glizzies. It was a little awkward. I'm
- 15:18Speaker 2: not going to lie. But we were saving money. All right,
- 15:21Speaker 2: city council candidate tells voters he has no idea what
- 15:25Speaker 2: he's doing. And then he wins the election.
- 15:27Speaker 4: At least he's honest.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Yeah, Canadian man who told voters he was unqualified appears
- 15:32Speaker 2: to have won the city council seat anyway. His name
- 15:35Speaker 2: is Brady Rogers. He's 33. He drew attention. with his
- 15:39Speaker 2: campaign saying, I barely want to do this. And the
- 15:42Speaker 2: other campaign sign said, just trying to pay rent. His
- 15:45Speaker 2: website also joked that he didn't enjoy politics or really
- 15:48Speaker 2: know what he was doing, but he could figure it out.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Preliminary results put him fourth among 37 candidates, which means
- 15:54Speaker 2: his seat will be official if those results are confirmed today, actually.
- 15:58Speaker 2: So it looks like he might win the election today.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Despite the jokes, Rogers says he plans to take the
- 16:04Speaker 2: work seriously if he wins. The small business owner says
- 16:08Speaker 2: his experience gives him useful skills, even though he's never
- 16:11Speaker 2: been a politician ever. His goals include tackling homelessness, making
- 16:15Speaker 2: housing more affordable, and helping small businesses. All right. But
- 16:19Speaker 2: he'll have to figure it out because he just doesn't know.
- 16:21Speaker 4: I mean, you don't have to have prior experience, obviously.
- 16:23Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true.
- 16:24Speaker 4: Like, just think about it.
- 16:25Speaker 2: And some people don't like politicians to be in charge.
- 16:29Speaker 2: We want a fresh, like, you know.
- 16:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Whatever that may be, so.
- 16:32Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 16:33Speaker 4: I respect his honesty. I know what I'm doing.
- 16:35Speaker 2: I do, too. Yeah. I'll figure it out. Yeah.
- 16:38Speaker 1: That's your campaign, Billy.
- 16:39Speaker 2: I'll figure it out. I mean, I got chat GBT. Yeah.
- 16:42Speaker 2: We'll be fine.
- 16:44Speaker 4: The new Mix 102.9.
- 16:45Speaker 2: It's so nice today. 80s, low 80s. A little too warm,
- 16:49Speaker 2: if you ask me.
- 16:49Speaker 8: Agree.
- 16:50Speaker 2: But whatever. I like 75 and sunny this time of year,
- 16:52Speaker 2: but I'm not going to complain, but I just did.
- 16:54Speaker 2: It's Mix 102.9, Ability Kid, Candice Lopez, Producer Poo is here.
- 16:58Speaker 2: You know, I love a good list and I saw
- 17:00Speaker 2: this list and I was like, oh, best food and
- 17:02Speaker 2: drink combinations of all time.
- 17:04Speaker 4: Oh, I like it.
- 17:05Speaker 1: The fat kid in me got really excited about this.
- 17:08Speaker 4: Very hungry right now.
- 17:09Speaker 2: The greatest food drink competition or combination of all time.
- 17:13Speaker 2: What would it be? And there's, oh, there's some good
- 17:15Speaker 2: ones on this list. I mean, right off the bat,
- 17:17Speaker 2: you know which one.
- 17:18Speaker 4: Peanut butter and jelly.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Peanut butter and jelly?
- 17:20Speaker 4: Yeah. Does that count?
- 17:21Speaker 2: And a drink?
- 17:22Speaker 4: Oh, and a drink? Yeah. I thought you said just, oh,
- 17:24Speaker 4: food and a drink. Food and a drink together.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Okay.
- 17:27Speaker 4: I thought you meant food and drink combination. So, like,
- 17:29Speaker 4: peanut butter and jelly. What's a good drink combo?
- 17:31Speaker 2: Well, no. Yeah, yeah. With a drink.
- 17:32Speaker 1: But that's not a drink. Yeah.
- 17:33Speaker 4: Okay.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Got it.
- 17:34Speaker 4: I misunderstood.
- 17:35Speaker 1: But I will say that I cannot eat a peanut
- 17:38Speaker 1: butter and jelly sandwich.
- 17:39Speaker 4: Without milk.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Without milk.
- 17:41Speaker 4: Okay. I was on my way.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Without milk. You've got to have, and of course, milk
- 17:45Speaker 2: and cookies. And there are other things on the list
- 17:47Speaker 2: that I was like, okay. Somebody said Frosty and Fries.
- 17:52Speaker 1: Yes.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Of course. You know, I'm over that. Why?
- 17:55Speaker 3: What?
- 17:56Speaker 4: No, that's having a moment. It's coming back. They're getting
- 17:58Speaker 4: the yellow cups back at Wendy's.
- 17:59Speaker 2: It's about to be on.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Wendy's going to have to win me back. I'm over it.
- 18:04Speaker 4: Okay.
- 18:05Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 18:05Speaker 1: They got rid of it. When they got rid of
- 18:08Speaker 1: the sunrooms, they got rid of me.
- 18:09Speaker 3: Oh!
- 18:10Speaker 4: The one by me closed down.
- 18:12Speaker 2: It did?
- 18:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:13Speaker 4: It was trash. But that was just that location.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Frosty is good.
- 18:17Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 18:17Speaker 2: But I'd only dip the fries in there every once
- 18:19Speaker 2: in a while. I'm not, like, making it a thing. Yeah.
- 18:21Speaker 4: I mean, you don't dip every fry in there. You
- 18:24Speaker 4: just every once in a while.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Okay.
- 18:25Speaker 2: Ultimate food and drink combination. Best of all time on
- 18:29Speaker 2: the list. All right. Yes. I agree with this one.
- 18:33Speaker 2: A ice cold Coke. And popcorn at a movie theater.
- 18:37Speaker 3: Oh, yes.
- 18:38Speaker 2: Of course. Like that combination hits so hard.
- 18:42Speaker 4: You're right.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Somebody else said, oh, cheese and wine, I guess.
- 18:47Speaker 2: I'm not a big wine guy. Yeah?
- 18:49Speaker 4: Yeah, for sure.
- 18:50Speaker 2: I guess. Oreos and milk.
- 18:53Speaker 4: Obviously.
- 18:54Speaker 2: I mean, that's a no brainer. But it's like, how
- 18:57Speaker 2: long do you dip the Oreo in there, though?
- 18:59Speaker 1: That's an art.
- 19:00Speaker 6: Right.
- 19:01Speaker 4: Well, it depends on how you like it.
- 19:02Speaker 1: I saw somebody do something really wild one time.
- 19:05Speaker 4: What?
- 19:05Speaker 2: They take the Oreos, and they crumble up all the Oreos,
- 19:08Speaker 2: and then throw them all in, and then grab a spoon.
- 19:11Speaker 3: Yes.
- 19:12Speaker 1: And then eat it like fat kid cereal.
- 19:14Speaker 4: Well, if you leave it in there long enough, it'll,
- 19:16Speaker 4: you know, fall to the bottom of the cup, and
- 19:17Speaker 4: then you can scoop it out with a spoon. Yeah,
- 19:20Speaker 4: it's clumpy.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Oh, that's the best.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Somebody said pizza... And a Mexican Coke. Oh. Ooh.
- 19:28Speaker 1: Yeah, that got that extra sugar there, extra tall.
- 19:31Speaker 6: Ooh.
- 19:32Speaker 1: Pizza and a Mexican Coke?
- 19:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:33Speaker 4: I can go for that.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Mexican Cokes are just better.
- 19:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:36Speaker 1: They hit different. They hit way harder.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Chocolate chip cookies and milk is on the list. Someone
- 19:41Speaker 2: put Dr. Pepper and Cheez-Its.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Is that a thing?
- 19:44Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 19:45Speaker 4: Okay.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Nachos and margaritas.
- 19:50Speaker 4: Obviously.
- 19:51Speaker 1: A hot dog and a beer at a ballpark.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Yeah. That is like the only time I ever want
- 19:57Speaker 2: a beer is at a baseball game. Really? I don't
- 20:00Speaker 2: know why.
- 20:00Speaker 4: So all American.
- 20:01Speaker 2: I know. Somebody said you got to try peanut butter
- 20:04Speaker 2: and jelly with chocolate milk.
- 20:06Speaker 4: Oh, that's next level.
- 20:08Speaker 1: I used to have spaghetti. I used to eat my
- 20:10Speaker 1: spaghetti with a chocolate milk. I don't know why.
- 20:12Speaker 6: You did?
- 20:12Speaker 2: When? What?
- 20:13Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 20:13Speaker 1: I don't know why.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Why?
- 20:15Speaker 6: When my aunt would make spaghetti, my Aunt Naomi would
- 20:18Speaker 6: make spaghetti, she'd give us chocolate milk.
- 20:20Speaker 1: And I used to always, I don't know, I loved it.
- 20:23Speaker 2: See, speaking of weird food combos in general, is I
- 20:26Speaker 2: know somebody who puts butter on their spaghetti.
- 20:30Speaker 4: Okay.
- 20:30Speaker 2: So, like, there's spaghettis on the plate.
- 20:33Speaker 5: Right.
- 20:33Speaker 2: The sauce is on top, and they take a big, like,
- 20:36Speaker 2: clump of butter and melt it on top of the
- 20:38Speaker 2: spaghetti and the sauce.
- 20:39Speaker 4: See, I melt the butter on the spaghetti noodles before
- 20:42Speaker 4: I put the sauce on.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 20:44Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 20:45Speaker 3: Really?
- 20:45Speaker 4: So kind of similar, yeah.
- 20:46Speaker 2: Yeah. All right.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Somebody else said, oh, nachos and margaritas.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Oh. Yeah. Yeah.
- 20:52Speaker 4: It's like a burger and milkshake.
- 20:54Speaker 1: Somebody else said, yeah, milkshake and fries. Yeah, we got
- 20:57Speaker 1: that one. Pizza and beer. Is chocolate and wine on there?
- 21:01Speaker 1: I just found out recently. Should be.
- 21:02Speaker 2: That you're supposed to have chocolate with wine. Well, certain
- 21:06Speaker 2: types of chocolates go with certain types of wines.
- 21:08Speaker 1: I never knew that.
- 21:09Speaker 2: I'm putting one on the list. What about barbecue and
- 21:11Speaker 2: sweet tea?
- 21:12Speaker 1: Ooh, yeah.
- 21:14Speaker 4: Fried chicken and iced tea.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Yes.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Yes. I've been craving fried chicken so bad. I need
- 21:20Speaker 2: good fried chicken, though. The one place that I liked
- 21:22Speaker 2: is gone.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Which one?
- 21:24Speaker 2: Henderson's. Oh, yeah, yeah. Right over here. Yeah. And then
- 21:26Speaker 2: Rudy's is gone. Where do I go get good fried chicken?
- 21:29Speaker 1: Remember, Spain's is gone.
- 21:31Speaker 2: Oh, Spain's.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Yeah. I've never tried it.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Spain's was so good back in the day here. Spain's
- 21:37Speaker 2: was my favorite because guess what would happen? There was
- 21:39Speaker 2: a guy at the window at the drive-thru, and he
- 21:44Speaker 2: took your order. It wasn't a speaker. Oh, good. And
- 21:47Speaker 2: you're like, oh, okay, cool. And then he'd be like, yeah,
- 21:50Speaker 2: pull around. And then you think you're going to another
- 21:52Speaker 2: window with somebody else? He would come out the other
- 21:55Speaker 2: side of the building and give you her chicken.
- 21:59Speaker 3: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 22:02Speaker 3: Kid in the morning.
- 22:03Speaker 4: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Candace Lopez, what you got going on?
- 22:07Speaker 4: Well, it was a record-setting first day of early voting
- 22:10Speaker 4: yesterday in the Metroplex. Dallas County reported around 20,000 more
- 22:14Speaker 4: voters than the first day of early voting in 2024.
- 22:17Speaker 4: and also beat the previous early voting record from 2020.
- 22:22Speaker 4: The polls opened again this morning at 7 in Dallas County,
- 22:25Speaker 4: and then in Tarrant, Denton, and Collin, they'll open at
- 22:27Speaker 4: 8 this morning. I have a massive meat recall to
- 22:31Speaker 4: talk about, guys. Nearly 1.6 million pounds of ready-to-eat meat products,
- 22:36Speaker 4: including hot dogs. Bacon and other meats were just recalled nationwide.
- 22:41Speaker 4: These products are from KM Foods. They're being recalled because
- 22:47Speaker 4: I guess there's like a temperature abuse. I've never heard
- 22:49Speaker 4: anyone call it that before.
- 22:51Speaker 1: Yeah, when they let it get too warm.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Yes.
- 22:53Speaker 1: And then they refreeze it or whatever.
- 22:54Speaker 4: Yeah. So during storage, I guess a customer complained about
- 22:58Speaker 4: warm product temperatures when these products were delivered. So they
- 23:02Speaker 4: started an investigation, found out that they stored these in
- 23:05Speaker 4: a warehouse cooler that had temperature deviations because of a
- 23:08Speaker 4: cooling system malfunction. But this recall is under the highest
- 23:12Speaker 4: level classification. So just a heads up.
- 23:15Speaker 1: But where would I find it, though? I don't know
- 23:16Speaker 1: what it is.
- 23:16Speaker 4: They were KM Foods products.
- 23:18Speaker 2: What is that?
- 23:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:19Speaker 4: Well, they distribute like all of these briskets, hams. Hot dogs,
- 23:24Speaker 4: different meats like that.
- 23:25Speaker 2: To everywhere?
- 23:26Speaker 4: It just depends. Some of them are in stores. Some
- 23:29Speaker 4: of them are like, you know, we're full service restaurants.
- 23:33Speaker 4: So it's just one thing after another. But I'm like,
- 23:35Speaker 4: how did no one notice there was a temperature?
- 23:37Speaker 1: I did not know the cooler's messing up.
- 23:39Speaker 4: Right.
- 23:40Speaker 1: Our phones are messing up this morning.
- 23:41Speaker 2: I knew that.
- 23:42Speaker 4: Same system, maybe.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Maybe they're right.
- 23:44Speaker 4: Yeah, are we being hacked?
- 23:45Speaker 2: I guess so.
- 23:46Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 23:46Speaker 4: Maybe that's what happened.
- 23:48Speaker 2: Check your meat.
- 23:48Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly. That's the point here. Check your meat, guys.
- 23:52Speaker 4: Listen to this. An HOA is going viral after asking
- 23:55Speaker 4: residents not to hand out full-size candy bars on Halloween.
- 24:00Speaker 4: So they're saying their goal is to help keep the
- 24:03Speaker 4: experience consistent throughout the neighborhood and not make some homes
- 24:06Speaker 4: feel pressure to keep up.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Are you kidding me?
- 24:08Speaker 4: What?
- 24:09Speaker 2: Stay out of my business.
- 24:11Speaker 4: Yeah their whole memo to residents said you know please
- 24:14Speaker 4: stick to smaller fun size candies you're kidding the fun
- 24:17Speaker 4: size aren't more fun no.
- 24:19Speaker 2: And hoas are the worst i mean yeah i know
- 24:21Speaker 2: you need them sometimes because you don't want people to
- 24:22Speaker 2: just go crazy yeah but at the same time you're
- 24:25Speaker 2: gonna tell me what candy i can right if.
- 24:27Speaker 4: My yard's trash all right people gotta.
- 24:29Speaker 2: Look at it right yeah but even that is stupid
- 24:31Speaker 2: like i had a little paint chip on my chimney
- 24:33Speaker 2: that you could only see In one direction. Like, one
- 24:36Speaker 2: direction from, like, the next neighborhood, and I got a
- 24:39Speaker 2: fine for it.
- 24:40Speaker 7: Wow.
- 24:41Speaker 1: And I'm like, I can't even see it.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, it's right here. Let me zoom in. What
- 24:46Speaker 2: losers walking around the neighborhood finding people, now I can't
- 24:49Speaker 2: have candy.
- 24:49Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, this must be a rich neighborhood, too,

- 24:58Speaker 1: Oh, man, candy's so expensive right now. 26.
- 25:01Speaker 2: $ 27?
- 25:01Speaker 4: $ 27 for a.
- 25:03Speaker 2: Bag of mini candies.
- 25:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Oh, my.
- 25:06Speaker 4: And I'm going to end up eating half of them.
- 25:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:08Speaker 4: I'll open it.
- 25:09Speaker 6: Take my kids to the rich neighborhoods because they give
- 25:11Speaker 6: out the full-size candy.
- 25:12Speaker 2: I don't know about this year.
- 25:13Speaker 4: Yeah, good luck with that.

- 25:45Speaker 2: let me get her on okay how are.
- 25:46Speaker 7: You hello i'm well how are you.
- 25:49Speaker 2: I'm good okay so you have a secret it's an
- 25:52Speaker 2: interesting one what is going on Okay.
- 25:54Speaker 5: So my secret is that, by the way, I think
- 25:59Speaker 5: it's perfectly harmless.
- 26:00Speaker 7: I just want to put it out there.
- 26:02Speaker 5: I'm a hairstylist, and I've been doing hair for a
- 26:05Speaker 5: really long time, but I like to collect some select
- 26:08Speaker 5: people's hair.
- 26:09Speaker 2: Okay, hold on.
- 26:11Speaker 4: What?
- 26:12Speaker 2: I told you. You said you collect some of the hair?
- 26:16Speaker 7: Sometimes some people's hair.
- 26:19Speaker 3: Yeah. What?
- 26:20Speaker 2: Okay.
- 26:20Speaker 1: Why?
- 26:22Speaker 2: What are you doing?
- 26:25Speaker 1: How did this start?
- 26:27Speaker 7: Okay.
- 26:28Speaker 2: All right.
- 26:29Speaker 7: So basically a couple of years ago, I had this
- 26:31Speaker 7: male client.
- 26:32Speaker 5: Who he was like super weird right like i thought
- 26:35Speaker 5: this guy might be a serial killer or whatever and
- 26:37Speaker 5: i'm giving him a cut and then after cutting his
- 26:39Speaker 5: hair i'm just like you know what let me just
- 26:41Speaker 5: put like a tiny strand on his ziploc bag in
- 26:44Speaker 5: case he.
- 26:44Speaker 7: Really is a serial killer and we need.
- 26:46Speaker 5: His dna like just like you don't understand this guy
- 26:50Speaker 5: was saying some crazy stuff so that's just sort of
- 26:53Speaker 5: how it started weird forensic.
- 26:55Speaker 2: Evidence no i kind of i kind of like the
- 26:59Speaker 2: way your crazy mind.
- 27:00Speaker 4: Thinks though That's something you would do, Billy.
- 27:02Speaker 2: I know. See, now that you're right. That is something
- 27:04Speaker 2: like this guy might have. I might have an issue
- 27:07Speaker 2: with this guy. Let me keep some of his hair.
- 27:10Speaker 2: I kind of see where you're coming from. So you
- 27:12Speaker 2: started doing it.
- 27:13Speaker 7: Yeah, thank you.
- 27:14Speaker 2: It started with him, but then how does it, it
- 27:17Speaker 2: kept going?
- 27:17Speaker 5: Well, okay, if I found someone, like, very interesting or, like,
- 27:21Speaker 5: really attractive, and I would just take, like, a tiny
- 27:23Speaker 5: bit of their hair and just put it in, like,
- 27:25Speaker 5: this little scrapbook I keep at home and, you know,
- 27:27Speaker 5: just label it.
- 27:28Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 27:28Speaker 7: And it was just, like, a little thing like that.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Right, totally normal.
- 27:30Speaker 4: A scrapbook?
- 27:31Speaker 2: A little hair, a couple hairs.
- 27:33Speaker 1: A scrapbook of hair?
- 27:34Speaker 4: Just put, like, name and date or, like, what?
- 27:37Speaker 2: Yeah, blood type.
- 27:39Speaker 7: Just name it. I don't know the date.
- 27:41Speaker 2: I mean, what's wrong with those? But it's important.
- 27:43Speaker 4: The date is important.
- 27:44Speaker 2: And up next is teeth. We're going to start collecting teeth.
- 27:46Speaker 2: Human teeth. Creepy.
- 27:50Speaker 1: Ooh.
- 27:51Speaker 2: Ooh. Okay. So that's different. Some people collect Pokemon cards.
- 27:55Speaker 2: Some collect other stuff. You happen to collect human hair
- 27:58Speaker 2: of clients. Wow.
- 28:00Speaker 7: Well, they're not all clients.
- 28:02Speaker 5: I actually, when I started making decent money, I started
- 28:05Speaker 5: like buying celebrity hair.
- 28:07Speaker 4: You can do that?
- 28:08Speaker 1: Oh, come on.
- 28:09Speaker 2: Buying celebrity. Now, I've heard of this, and I always
- 28:12Speaker 2: think to myself, like, first of all, how do you
- 28:14Speaker 2: know it's real? Or how do you know it's from them?
- 28:16Speaker 4: But whose? Whose hair would you want?
- 28:19Speaker 2: Whose hair have you bought?
- 28:20Speaker 4: Who has good hair? Oh, a JT curl back in
- 28:22Speaker 4: the day?
- 28:23Speaker 1: The ramen? Would you have bought JT's hair?
- 28:26Speaker 4: Yeah, a piece of the ramen hair.
- 28:27Speaker 6: What?
- 28:29Speaker 2: Who do you have?
- 28:30Speaker 5: I actually have a strand of Michael Jackson's hair that
- 28:33Speaker 5: came from like a Pepsi commercial accident where.
- 28:35Speaker 2: His hair caught on fire. No.
- 28:39Speaker 5: Yeah, I paid a few thousand dollars for that. I
- 28:43Speaker 5: have a strand of Justin Bieber's hair that I paid
- 28:47Speaker 5: for maybe.
- 28:47Speaker 7: About a thousand.
- 28:48Speaker 5: I know it sounds crazy, but like that hair now
- 28:52Speaker 5: is worth like triple.
- 28:53Speaker 2: That is insane.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Hold on.
- 28:55Speaker 2: I got to look this up.
- 28:56Speaker 4: Please do it because I interviewed him so many times
- 28:59Speaker 4: back in the day. He probably left like hair and
- 29:01Speaker 4: water bottles and.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Things in the studio. I've never thought about asking a
- 29:04Speaker 2: celebrity for their hair. All right, next interview, we're asking
- 29:06Speaker 2: someone for some hair.
- 29:08Speaker 1: Let me get a lock of that, please.
- 29:09Speaker 2: Wait, there's, okay.
- 29:11Speaker 4: What in the world?
- 29:12Speaker 2: I'm looking online right now. Yeah, there's like auction houses
- 29:16Speaker 2: that sell hair.
- 29:18Speaker 3: Really?
- 29:18Speaker 2: You know, I got to be honest. I thought it'd
- 29:20Speaker 2: be way more expensive for like a Justin Bieber hair.
- 29:23Speaker 4: Like a grand?
- 29:24Speaker 2: I mean... Yeah, that's not... I mean, I'm not saying
- 29:26Speaker 2: I'd do it.
- 29:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:27Speaker 1: That's a lot.
- 29:28Speaker 2: Well, I'm not saying $ 1, 000 isn't a lot of money,
- 29:30Speaker 2: but if you're getting like Michael... You have Michael Jackson's hair.
- 29:34Speaker 2: That's iconic.
- 29:35Speaker 4: And who took it and saved it?
- 29:37Speaker 1: Right.
- 29:38Speaker 4: He would have been upset by that, I'm sure.
- 29:40Speaker 1: No, he don't care.
- 29:41Speaker 2: No.
- 29:42Speaker 4: He would have been.
- 29:43Speaker 1: Take some hair.
- 29:44Speaker 2: You're fine. It was singed anyway.
- 29:47Speaker 4: He would have wanted to give it to you for free, probably.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Actually. Yeah, well, that's how the auction house probably got it.
- 29:53Speaker 2: And then they sell it to you. And then we've
- 29:55Speaker 2: had so many celebrities in here. I mean, somebody sold
- 29:58Speaker 2: like an old Justin Bieber water bottle one time that
- 30:00Speaker 2: he drank out of for a ton of money.
- 30:01Speaker 1: I should have done that.
- 30:02Speaker 4: Yeah, same.
- 30:03Speaker 1: Candace, let me see some of your hair.
- 30:05Speaker 2: I'm selling it.
- 30:07Speaker 4: It is nice today, though.
- 30:08Speaker 1: It's nice and smooth. I'm going to start an only
- 30:10Speaker 1: hair account.
- 30:13Speaker 2: Well, some people, this is why you don't tell anybody, though.
- 30:17Speaker 2: I get it because it doesn't seem like the most
- 30:19Speaker 2: normal activity. No.
- 30:21Speaker 5: No, so I don't want to sound like a psychotic
- 30:25Speaker 5: person because I'm pretty normal otherwise.
- 30:28Speaker 2: You sure? Are you?
- 30:29Speaker 1: Psycho.
- 30:31Speaker 4: I used to have a science teacher who collected scabs.
- 30:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:35Speaker 3: No.
- 30:36Speaker 4: She would keep them in a jar on her desk.
- 30:38Speaker 2: Oh, come on.
- 30:38Speaker 4: Miss Arnold.
- 30:39Speaker 2: Ooh. Miss Arnold. Where is she now?
- 30:41Speaker 6: In jail?
- 30:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know. Oh. hopefully i don't know we
- 30:44Speaker 2: do have a friend that collects uh fingernails yeah we
- 30:46Speaker 2: have a friend who collects toenails and fingernails.
- 30:48Speaker 1: And it's the most yeah like why.
- 30:51Speaker 9: She said oh how you gonna criticize yeah.
- 30:58Speaker 5: Yeah and it's like if it's my clients i've already.
- 31:01Speaker 7: Washed their hair and all of that.
- 31:03Speaker 5: That's true i will admit one thing I did have
- 31:06Speaker 5: this guy spend the night once, and after he left,
- 31:09Speaker 5: I found a hair on my pillow, and I got, like,
- 31:12Speaker 5: really excited because I didn't have one of his yet.
- 31:15Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 31:16Speaker 4: Do you have a bingo card for hair?
- 31:17Speaker 7: Oh, my God.
- 31:19Speaker 5: No, you know, I say that out loud because people
- 31:21Speaker 5: think I'm weird.
- 31:22Speaker 1: Okay.
- 31:23Speaker 2: Yeah. Oh, he left a hair. Yeah, voodoo.
- 31:29Speaker 7: Oh, my God.
- 31:30Speaker 2: Let me put it in my scrapbook. Oh, my God.
- 31:35Speaker 2: That scrapbook.
- 31:36Speaker 7: Only because I really liked him.
- 31:37Speaker 2: Right. Okay. Well, listen. Hey, you do you. It's not
- 31:42Speaker 2: hurting anybody. Is it creepy? No, no.
- 31:44Speaker 3: Sure.
- 31:44Speaker 2: Are you going to end up in jail? Maybe. But
- 31:47Speaker 2: at the end of the day, it's a fascinating story.
- 31:49Speaker 2: So thank you very much for your confession. It's a
- 31:52Speaker 2: non-judgment zone, so you're good in our book.
- 31:54Speaker 4: Yeah, you might solve a case someday.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Right.
- 31:57Speaker 7: I hope so.
- 31:58Speaker 2: I hope so. You stay right there. We won't judge
- 32:00Speaker 2: you while you're on the phone.
- 32:04Speaker 4: The new Mix 102.9.
- 32:05Speaker 2: About to do Candace Court on Mix 102.9. It's Billy
- 32:08Speaker 2: the Kid, Candace Lopez. Producer Poo is here. We just
- 32:11Speaker 2: had the dirty little secret and my DM started blowing up.
- 32:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:14Speaker 2: The phone started ringing because this girl, her secret was
- 32:16Speaker 2: she collects hair. She's a hairdresser, so some of her clients,
- 32:21Speaker 2: she keeps a little strand of their hair and puts
- 32:22Speaker 2: it in a scrapbook. Yeah. James, what'd you say? I
- 32:25Speaker 2: was thinking that what if you were the executor of
- 32:28Speaker 2: the estate and you were in there cleaning out her
- 32:31Speaker 2: stuff and you found this book? Yes. I would think
- 32:35Speaker 2: she's a serial killer. Yeah. Yes.
- 32:38Speaker 9: Yeah, you would think something else is going on.
- 32:40Speaker 2: Man.
- 32:41Speaker 1: She's actually on the other line, wants to know if
- 32:42Speaker 1: she can have some of your hair, James.
- 32:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:45Speaker 1: There's not much hair, but if she wants to start
- 32:48Speaker 1: a beard.
- 32:48Speaker 4: Page, I got that coming.
- 32:51Speaker 1: There you go.
- 32:52Speaker 2: That probably counts.
- 32:53Speaker 4: We love you guys, and we appreciate the laughter in
- 32:56Speaker 4: the mornings, and you guys keep it up. Thank you.
- 33:00Speaker 2: Well, thank you, James. Thank you for listening. That's what
- 33:02Speaker 2: means the most to us, so we appreciate you. Yes, absolutely.
- 33:05Speaker 2: Love that. Thank you, James. All right, you ready for
- 33:07Speaker 2: Candace Court? Here we go. All right.
- 33:10Speaker 8: It's time for Candace Court. It gets settled here with
- 33:14Speaker 8: Billy the Kid.
- 33:14Speaker 3: In the Morning.
- 33:15Speaker 2: All rise for the honorable Judge Candace Lopez. Here she is.
- 33:20Speaker 2: She brings justice to the table, along with usually some
- 33:23Speaker 2: healthy snacks in her purse. For sure.
- 33:25Speaker 4: You need a beef stick?
- 33:26Speaker 2: Yeah, you need a Chomps. All organic, grass-fed. Here we go.
- 33:30Speaker 2: Thank you, Judge. Now, if you've got an issue you
- 33:31Speaker 2: want her to solve, at Candace on air, at Candace
- 33:34Speaker 2: on air. Let me read you this message from this woman.
- 33:37Speaker 2: She says, I need y'all to tell my husband he's
- 33:39Speaker 2: being ridiculous because I'm honestly tired about arguing about this. Oh.
- 33:44Speaker 2: My husband and his buddies are planning a four-day trip
- 33:46Speaker 2: to Las Vegas. And I told him, absolutely not, buddy.
- 33:52Speaker 2: I'm sorry, but married men have no business going to
- 33:55Speaker 2: Vegas for four days with a bunch of other guys.
- 33:58Speaker 2: And some are single, and they're single because they cheated.
- 34:02Speaker 2: What exactly do you need to do in Vegas that
- 34:04Speaker 2: you can't do here? We have McDonald's at home.
- 34:07Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 34:08Speaker 1: I know. Oh, she didn't say that. You want to gamble?
- 34:11Speaker 2: You want to drink?
- 34:12Speaker 1: You want to look at half naked women?
- 34:13Speaker 2: No, thank you. I don't think so. He keeps saying
- 34:16Speaker 2: I don't get to tell him where he can and
- 34:18Speaker 2: can't go. Actually, when you're married, I think you absolutely
- 34:21Speaker 2: should have a say in what your spouse does. That's
- 34:25Speaker 2: the way it should be. Now, here's the part that's
- 34:28Speaker 2: really ticking me off. Every year I go to Miami
- 34:31Speaker 2: with my girlfriends for a long weekend. Now he's throwing
- 34:34Speaker 2: that in my face saying, oh, it's the exact same thing. No,
- 34:36Speaker 2: it's not. Men and women are different and we're not
- 34:38Speaker 2: the same. And I'm not going with a bunch of cheaters.
- 34:42Speaker 2: I just enjoy it going because it's time with my girls.
- 34:47Speaker 2: He wants to just go crazy with his boys in Vegas.
- 34:50Speaker 2: Am I crazy for this? What do you think, Candace?
- 34:53Speaker 2: Please help out.
- 34:54Speaker 4: Okay.
- 34:57Speaker 2: Is there a difference?
- 34:58Speaker 4: Yeah, there's a difference between Vegas and Miami.
- 35:01Speaker 3: What?
- 35:03Speaker 4: It's called Sin City for a reason.
- 35:06Speaker 2: I mean, you're not wrong.
- 35:07Speaker 1: Have you been to Miami? Have you seen the beach?
- 35:09Speaker 4: Yeah, I've seen the beach. That's different, though. That's free,
- 35:12Speaker 4: and I'm just hanging out in the sun.
- 35:14Speaker 2: The light's on. You think the girls' trip is different
- 35:18Speaker 2: going to Miami than a bunch of dudes going to
- 35:20Speaker 2: Vegas for four days?
- 35:22Speaker 4: Yeah, because the girls are having brunch, and we're laying
- 35:24Speaker 4: by the pool, and we're reading on our Kindle.
- 35:27Speaker 2: You're not wrong. Right. You're not wrong. I listen as
- 35:30Speaker 2: a man. I know I'm probably going to get hate
- 35:32Speaker 2: from other dudes, but you're not.
- 35:34Speaker 4: If you're going on a camping trip to Colorado with
- 35:36Speaker 4: your homies and we're going to off road and do
- 35:38Speaker 4: whatever in the middle of nowhere like that's that's a
- 35:41Speaker 4: guy's trip that there's not a lot to worry about.
- 35:43Speaker 4: Like you can't tell him where to go, but you
- 35:46Speaker 4: can tell him how you feel about where he wants
- 35:48Speaker 4: to go.
- 35:48Speaker 2: I agree with that. I agree. And the part I
- 35:51Speaker 2: don't like. is I don't love the fact that he's
- 35:54Speaker 2: going with people who have cheated. I'm not saying people
- 35:56Speaker 2: don't make, people make mistakes. I get it. I'm not
- 35:59Speaker 2: saying that if you cheated once, it's not a good look.
- 36:01Speaker 2: And I get why I would make her feel uncomfortable.
- 36:03Speaker 4: I do too.
- 36:04Speaker 2: So I don't think she's crazy for feeling like this.
- 36:06Speaker 2: If there was no like, you know, background or history and,
- 36:10Speaker 2: you know, she's just, well, you're going to Vegas. Okay.
- 36:13Speaker 2: You're going for two days and it's for this reason.
- 36:16Speaker 4: Also, who goes to Vegas for four days at our age?
- 36:18Speaker 2: Not me.
- 36:19Speaker 3: Okay.
- 36:20Speaker 2: I can barely survive two.
- 36:21Speaker 9: Right.
- 36:21Speaker 6: She goes on a trip every year. This is a
- 36:24Speaker 6: one-time occurrence for me.
- 36:25Speaker 4: That means they know what to expect.
- 36:27Speaker 2: Yeah. That's what they do it every year. So what's
- 36:29Speaker 2: it's not a shock out of nowhere. And now we're
- 36:31Speaker 2: going to Vegas for four days.
- 36:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:33Speaker 4: Is it a birthday?
- 36:34Speaker 6: I'm just going with my boys. First of all, if
- 36:36Speaker 6: I'm your husband, learn to trust me. Don't worry about
- 36:38Speaker 6: the knuckleheads I hang out with.
- 36:40Speaker 2: I do. Why?
- 36:42Speaker 4: Well, yeah, it sounds like you don't trust your husband.
- 36:44Speaker 4: And if she has a reason not to trust him,
- 36:46Speaker 4: then he shouldn't go.
- 36:48Speaker 1: I mean, isn't there something to be said that you
- 36:49Speaker 1: are the company you keep?
- 36:51Speaker 3: No.
- 36:51Speaker 2: No.
- 36:52Speaker 4: Right?
- 36:52Speaker 2: Like that's what we tell our kids. Yeah.
- 36:54Speaker 1: We tell our kids. I don't want to hang around.
- 36:56Speaker 2: I'll be honest.
- 36:56Speaker 1: I don't want to hang around a bunch of guys
- 36:57Speaker 1: who cheat on their girlfriends and wives.
- 36:59Speaker 2: No, that's not who I am. I don't want to
- 37:01Speaker 2: be around it.
- 37:01Speaker 6: I mean, I get that. But some of them are
- 37:04Speaker 6: my closest friends. Like, I don't do what they do.
- 37:07Speaker 6: Learn to trust me.
- 37:08Speaker 1: And you never know.
- 37:09Speaker 6: I might just go out there and come back early.
- 37:11Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 37:13Speaker 2: No, I know you're not going to do that because
- 37:14Speaker 2: that would be a $ 250 plane transfer.
- 37:17Speaker 1: And you're not going to spend that money. And that's
- 37:18Speaker 1: our money.
- 37:19Speaker 2: So no.
- 37:20Speaker 6: No, but still, you go every year. To Miami, South Beach,
- 37:24Speaker 6: have naked dudes walking around Speedos. You can't tell me that.
- 37:29Speaker 4: That's their choice to walk around. These guys are going
- 37:31Speaker 4: to go to men's clubs. They're going to pay. They're
- 37:33Speaker 4: going to spend money.
- 37:35Speaker 2: Girls don't care about dudes on the beach in Speedos.
- 37:38Speaker 4: Literally don't care.
- 37:40Speaker 2: Literally, it's funny to them.
- 37:41Speaker 4: It's funny.
- 37:42Speaker 2: You're exactly right.
- 37:43Speaker 1: Yeah, but the girls I know, they act like dudes,
- 37:48Speaker 1: and they'll be like, ooh, look at him, girl.
- 37:50Speaker 4: But are they going to go up to those men?
- 37:52Speaker 2: No, no.
- 37:52Speaker 1: Exactly. If they're single, yes, they would. But they're not. Exactly.
- 37:57Speaker 2: So they're not going to go up?
- 37:59Speaker 6: You need to trust your husband. I might just go
- 38:02Speaker 6: out to Vegas and go to the golf course.
- 38:04Speaker 2: I'm not saying that you won't. I'm not saying that
- 38:06Speaker 2: you're a cheater. I'm not saying that you're going to cheat.
- 38:08Speaker 2: I'm saying that I get why it makes her feel uncomfortable.
- 38:12Speaker 1: Yeah. So let me ask you this, Pooh. Let me
- 38:14Speaker 1: turn the tables.
- 38:16Speaker 2: You'd be okay with your girl, if you had a girlfriend,
- 38:18Speaker 2: and you were going, she was going to Vegas for
- 38:22Speaker 2: four days with a group of girls, and you know
- 38:25Speaker 2: three of those girls cheat on their husbands.
- 38:27Speaker 1: Is she my girlfriend or is she my wife?
- 38:29Speaker 2: She's your wife.
- 38:30Speaker 1: If she's my wife, I'm.
- 38:31Speaker 2: Going to trust her. Go. Where's the line music?
- 38:35Speaker 9: No.
- 38:36Speaker 2: Listen, if I.
- 38:37Speaker 4: If women love men in Speedos.
- 38:39Speaker 3: So much, then.
- 38:39Speaker 6: If I walk down the aisle and before God and
- 38:42Speaker 6: all that other stuff, you know what I'm saying?
- 38:44Speaker 1: I trust you. If I put a ring on it,
- 38:47Speaker 1: I trust you. I trust you not to cheat.
- 38:48Speaker 4: Well, that's my concern is why doesn't she trust this
- 38:50Speaker 4: trip or her husband?
- 38:52Speaker 2: So it doesn't matter what she does, then. She can
- 38:54Speaker 2: do whatever she wants. You trust her. I mean, if
- 38:56Speaker 2: she's going to cheat, she'll... Hey, babe, you know, I
- 38:58Speaker 2: got this new guy friend who I'm working out with
- 39:00Speaker 2: at the gym. What?
- 39:01Speaker 1: Okay.
- 39:02Speaker 2: You know, he's super buff, and he's teaching me what
- 39:04Speaker 2: to do. So, do you mind? Yeah, I don't mind.
- 39:08Speaker 2: I mean, we're married. Yeah, you know what?
- 39:10Speaker 1: I'm going to work out with Vanessa. She's a trainer, too,
- 39:12Speaker 1: over here at Lifetime.
- 39:13Speaker 2: I know you're not going to work out. That's funny.
- 39:15Speaker 2: There goes that argument.
- 39:21Speaker 4: You're not wrong.
- 39:21Speaker 2: All right. Wow! Let's get to it. And let me
- 39:24Speaker 2: know what you think about this, because I'm curious. I'm
- 39:27Speaker 2: not trying to side. People always say, Billy, you side
- 39:29Speaker 2: with the girl.
- 39:30Speaker 1: All the time. Yeah.
- 39:31Speaker 2: Because usually they're more rational. And I hate to admit it,
- 39:35Speaker 2: but they are. So I don't think it's crazy that
- 39:37Speaker 2: she's uncomfortable, but I'm not the judge. Candace Lopez, the verdict.
- 39:40Speaker 4: Yeah, look, I'm sorry. You're guilty of being a gambling Gary.
- 39:43Speaker 4: You're gambling with really ticking off your wife. Look, if
- 39:47Speaker 4: you don't agree with something or something your partner does
- 39:50Speaker 4: makes you uncomfortable, you should be able to tell them.
- 39:53Speaker 2: Yes.
- 39:53Speaker 1: It should be a conversation and you should work through it.
- 39:56Speaker 4: Right.
- 39:56Speaker 1: But if it's just because, no, I'm going to go
- 39:57Speaker 1: because you go.
- 39:58Speaker 2: Right.
- 39:59Speaker 1: Probably not the best argument.
- 40:00Speaker 4: No, I agree.
- 40:01Speaker 2: So he is guilty of being a?
- 40:03Speaker 4: A gambling Gary.
- 40:07Speaker 3: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 40:10Speaker 3: Kid in the morning.
- 40:11Speaker 4: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 40:13Speaker 2: We got some money coming up. Our cash cow. Get
- 40:16Speaker 2: ready for that $ 1, 000. We'll do it at 840.
- 40:19Speaker 3: 840.
- 40:19Speaker 2: Candace Lopez, what is going on?
- 40:20Speaker 4: Well, we have hoodie weather this morning, but you want
- 40:22Speaker 4: your shorts in the afternoon. Back in the 80s starting
- 40:25Speaker 4: today through the rest of the week. No rain in sight.
- 40:29Speaker 4: It is about 58 right now, guys, so chilly.
- 40:31Speaker 2: There's that time of the year where it's so confusing
- 40:33Speaker 2: because you leave and you're like, oh, okay, this is beautiful.
- 40:36Speaker 1: And then I'm sweating by 3 o'clock.
- 40:40Speaker 4: Yeah, dressing your kids for school is rough, too. They
- 40:42Speaker 4: get off the bus just like, what am I supposed
- 40:44Speaker 4: to do? Yeah, it's hot now.
- 40:45Speaker 2: Got a hoodie, winter coat, shorts, and flip-flops.
- 40:47Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly. Guys, Apple announced they will be having a
- 40:50Speaker 4: new product event October 28th. The event is called Pro Intel.
- 40:55Speaker 4: They are expected to debut a touchscreen Mac It'll focus
- 40:59Speaker 4: on that and their iPad lineup. This is going to
- 41:02Speaker 4: be their third product event of the season. I feel
- 41:05Speaker 4: like they're doing these more often. I thought it was
- 41:06Speaker 4: like one a year, maybe two a year.
- 41:08Speaker 2: That's what I thought, too.
- 41:09Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 41:09Speaker 4: So busy times at Apple. If you're a tech nerd,
- 41:12Speaker 4: this will be interesting.
- 41:13Speaker 1: Isn't that what the iPad does right now?
- 41:15Speaker 2: It does.
- 41:16Speaker 4: But like Macs have never had touchscreens before.
- 41:18Speaker 1: Well, it's just.
- 41:20Speaker 2: I know.
- 41:20Speaker 4: I don't like all the like, you know, fingerprints on
- 41:23Speaker 4: my screen.
- 41:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:24Speaker 4: But my son always tries to touch my screen. I
- 41:26Speaker 4: don't know if that's cool. His device is touchscreen like that.
- 41:28Speaker 4: I guess it would be.
- 41:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:30Speaker 4: But yeah, it doesn't work on mine.
- 41:31Speaker 2: I just feel like, you know, you're getting older when
- 41:33Speaker 2: you start getting weird about technology. Yeah.
- 41:36Speaker 1: And I feel like I'm there.
- 41:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm there. Back in the day when I was younger,
- 41:41Speaker 2: I wanted the brand new phone. Same. And I'm like,
- 41:44Speaker 2: there ain't nothing wrong with my tan. My Apple tan
- 41:47Speaker 2: is just fine. What do you need all these folded
- 41:51Speaker 2: iPhones for?
- 41:52Speaker 4: It's really just the camera. That's all I keep upgrading
- 41:54Speaker 4: for is the better camera.
- 41:55Speaker 2: I guess.
- 41:56Speaker 1: But why can't they make a camera? Apple, make a
- 41:58Speaker 1: camera that doesn't smudge.
- 42:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 42:01Speaker 1: Make a smudge-free camera.
- 42:02Speaker 4: That's a good idea.
- 42:03Speaker 1: I'm always getting smudges.
- 42:04Speaker 2: I hate smudges.
- 42:06Speaker 4: I agree. Guys, this is breaking news. Christina Applegate just
- 42:10Speaker 4: revealed she was misdiagnosed with MS. So she took a
- 42:15Speaker 4: break from her podcast for a while because of her health.
- 42:18Speaker 4: She just came back, released a new episode today. As
- 42:21Speaker 4: of this morning, she says new technology is what led
- 42:24Speaker 4: to this discovery. She says it's great news, but also
- 42:28Speaker 4: she's back at square one.
- 42:29Speaker 2: Wait. So she was diagnosed with MS, and now she
- 42:32Speaker 2: doesn't have that but doesn't know what's going on.
- 42:34Speaker 4: Correct. Yeah, her doctor basically said, congrats, you don't have MS.
- 42:38Speaker 4: But she's like, you know, I'm not suddenly better. In fact,
- 42:41Speaker 4: I'm worse. Now she just has some mystery illness with
- 42:44Speaker 4: every symptom of MS. You know, she says she felt
- 42:47Speaker 4: like she let everyone down after becoming such a big advocate.
- 42:50Speaker 4: For the MS community. So she's like, my mind is
- 42:53Speaker 4: messed up.
- 42:53Speaker 2: Wow.
- 42:54Speaker 4: You know, which I can imagine.
- 42:55Speaker 2: Poor thing.
- 42:55Speaker 1: How long did that go on where she thought.
- 42:57Speaker 2: She had MS? Years. Really? Yeah.
- 42:59Speaker 4: She was diagnosed. I'd have to look it up to
- 43:01Speaker 4: see exactly when, but we've seen her just, you know,
- 43:03Speaker 4: health decline for a long time. It's been really sad.
- 43:07Speaker 2: I'm telling you what, you know, and I feel so
- 43:10Speaker 2: awful for her and her family.
- 43:12Speaker 1: They have to go through something like this.
- 43:14Speaker 2: Also, too, there's nothing worse than like starting to see
- 43:18Speaker 2: your childhood crushes. Yes. And the people you loved get
- 43:22Speaker 2: older and have health issues. And you're just it makes
- 43:25Speaker 2: you feel so very like.
- 43:27Speaker 4: Is very humbling.
- 43:28Speaker 2: Yeah. It's humbling because you felt like they're untouchable.
- 43:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 43:31Speaker 2: You know.
- 43:32Speaker 4: Right.
- 43:32Speaker 2: It's just sad.
- 43:33Speaker 5: It is.
- 43:34Speaker 4: Oh, she was diagnosed with MS as a June of 2021.
- 43:36Speaker 4: So she's been.
- 43:38Speaker 1: Thinking for over five years. She's had MS and doesn't.
- 43:42Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, it's fascinating.
- 43:44Speaker 4: Hopefully they can use this new technology to figure out
- 43:47Speaker 4: what's going on.
- 43:48Speaker 1: I hope so.
- 43:49Speaker 2: I hope so for her sake. I'm going to tell
- 43:51Speaker 2: you right now, there's nothing like, you know, appreciate your health.
- 43:54Speaker 2: It's something you don't really appreciate until you don't have it.
- 43:57Speaker 4: A hundred percent. And on that note, I was mentioning
- 43:59Speaker 4: Selena Gomez, you know, she's going viral for her old
- 44:02Speaker 4: vaping addiction. She says permanently changed her voice. And it's like,
- 44:05Speaker 4: you know, the health implications around that. It's weird to
- 44:08Speaker 4: see something like that even happen to someone like Selena Gomez.
- 44:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 44:11Speaker 4: So she's saying that's not worth it. You know, she's
- 44:14Speaker 4: if you don't like the sound of her voice, she
- 44:15Speaker 4: says it ain't changing at this point.
- 44:17Speaker 2: So, well, I mean, what's the big deal? That's fine.
- 44:20Speaker 1: Everything's OK.
- 44:20Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 44:21Speaker 4: It's just her sound of her voice. But hopefully nothing
- 44:23Speaker 4: else comes of that.
- 44:24Speaker 2: Right. When it's part of your job, though, that's a
- 44:26Speaker 2: big deal. People think vaping is so much better than smoking.
- 44:28Speaker 2: And maybe it is. I don't know. I don't do either.
- 44:30Speaker 1: And I'm not judging anybody who does.
- 44:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 44:33Speaker 1: If that's what it takes to get off the cigs,
- 44:36Speaker 1: I guess cool. But at the end of the day,
- 44:38Speaker 1: you've got to get off the vape.
- 44:39Speaker 2: Right. And then what? Yep.
- 44:41Speaker 1: I mean, it's not good for you, right?
- 44:43Speaker 4: No, definitely not.
- 44:44Speaker 1: And it seems expensive.
- 44:45Speaker 4: Yeah, it's got to be.
- 44:47Speaker 2: I don't know. I've never bought one, but it seems
- 44:48Speaker 2: like expensive to keep up. Then you've got to charge it.
- 44:50Speaker 2: I can barely charge my phone. I know.
- 44:51Speaker 1: Now I've got to charge a vape?
- 44:53Speaker 4: It's high maintenance, for sure.
- 44:54Speaker 1: It's a lot going on there. Well, thank you. All right.
- 44:56Speaker 4: I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories.
- 44:58Speaker 2: Oh, that's a hot take.
- 45:00Speaker 8: Let us know what you think.
- 45:01Speaker 4: Here's today's hot take.
- 45:03Speaker 2: Big old heifer. That cow is coming. It has got
- 45:08Speaker 2: $ 1, 000 ready for you. There it is. We do it
- 45:10Speaker 2: on the 40s all day, so make sure you listen
- 45:12Speaker 2: to win. It's Bailey the Kid, Candace Lopez, producer Pooh
- 45:15Speaker 2: on Mix 102.9. Hot take of the day. I'm going
- 45:17Speaker 2: to say it right now, loud and proud. You know
- 45:20Speaker 2: what's ruining Halloween? What? Trunk or treats. Yeah, I'm saying yes.
- 45:25Speaker 2: Trunk or treats are ruining Halloween and I'm over it.
- 45:29Speaker 2: And they're going to be the reason why I don't
- 45:30Speaker 2: turn on my porch light this year. I don't buy
- 45:33Speaker 2: candy for the kids. And I'm being a curmudgeon because
- 45:35Speaker 2: trunk or treats have ruined everything.
- 45:37Speaker 4: No, they're fine.
- 45:39Speaker 2: Hear me out on this. there's so many trunk or treats.
- 45:42Speaker 2: You've already been gone to like eight trunk or treats
- 45:45Speaker 2: with your, with your son.
- 45:47Speaker 4: It's not even, I've gone to one at his school.
- 45:49Speaker 4: We have one at school and then we trick or
- 45:51Speaker 4: treat on Halloween night.
- 45:52Speaker 2: Not even October 21st. It's the 20th. You've already been
- 45:57Speaker 2: to a trunk or treat. I have.
- 45:58Speaker 4: Well, they had to make it line up with the
- 45:59Speaker 4: day the kids had off on Friday. So they did
- 46:01Speaker 4: it Thursday night. So it just made sense.
- 46:04Speaker 2: No, it didn't.
- 46:05Speaker 1: It made no sense.
- 46:06Speaker 4: The closer you get to Halloween, the more events there are,
- 46:08Speaker 4: the more cluttered your calendar becomes.
- 46:09Speaker 1: But they shouldn't involve candy.
- 46:11Speaker 2: Why? Because now the kids don't want to go trick
- 46:14Speaker 2: or treat around the neighborhood and go candy.
- 46:15Speaker 4: Mine does.
- 46:16Speaker 6: No.
- 46:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:16Speaker 2: Well, he wants to, but he's not going to do
- 46:18Speaker 2: it for real. Your neighborhood might be different. I'm telling you,
- 46:20Speaker 2: there's no kids in my neighborhood. And I think it's
- 46:22Speaker 2: because of trunk or treats. It's because of that. And
- 46:26Speaker 2: it's also because I think parents coddle their kids too much.
- 46:29Speaker 3: Why?
- 46:30Speaker 4: Coddle them why? Because chunker treats are safer?
- 46:32Speaker 2: Right. Okay. Right.
- 46:34Speaker 1: That don't make no sense. And I think kids need
- 46:36Speaker 1: to be feral again.
- 46:36Speaker 4: But parents are so overly anxious at this point. Whatever
- 46:39Speaker 4: makes you relax as a parent and have a good time,
- 46:41Speaker 4: just do it.
- 46:42Speaker 2: No. Yeah. It's not about them. We are so freaked out.
- 46:47Speaker 2: I'm not saying that there are certain neighborhoods that aren't safe.
- 46:49Speaker 2: But for the most part, neighborhoods are safe. Let your
- 46:52Speaker 2: kids be feral. Let them run around. Let them go outside.
- 46:55Speaker 2: Let them play. Let them get in the dirt.
- 46:56Speaker 4: I don't like a trunk-or-treat over trick-or-treating house-to-house, but that's
- 46:59Speaker 4: why we do both. But yeah, my neighborhood still trick-or-treats.
- 47:02Speaker 4: We have trailers full of kids who come into our
- 47:04Speaker 4: neighborhood on flatbeds with lights and decorations.
- 47:07Speaker 2: What? Come on.
- 47:07Speaker 4: Yeah, they're blasting music.
- 47:09Speaker 2: Where are they coming from?
- 47:09Speaker 4: I have no idea.
- 47:10Speaker 1: You have kids on trailers.
- 47:12Speaker 4: On flatbed trailers like they're in a parade.
- 47:15Speaker 1: Well, that's no fair to the kids trying to get
- 47:17Speaker 1: the other candy.
- 47:18Speaker 4: Well, they just want to go to as many neighborhoods
- 47:20Speaker 4: as they can, I guess. No, I love it.
- 47:23Speaker 2: I say on Halloween, on Halloween, get as much candy
- 47:26Speaker 2: as you can. The only difference this year is it's
- 47:28Speaker 2: on a Saturday. So it's going to be busier than normal.
- 47:31Speaker 2: But I'm telling you, if Halloween, that's another hot take.
- 47:34Speaker 2: Halloween should always be on the last Saturday of October.
- 47:38Speaker 4: That I agree with for sure. Now, here's why I
- 47:40Speaker 4: like an early trunk or treat, because my kid got
- 47:42Speaker 4: so much candy he doesn't even really know. And I
- 47:45Speaker 4: just put that in the pile to give out on
- 47:46Speaker 4: Halloween night anyway.
- 47:47Speaker 2: Oh, wow. Wait a minute.
- 47:50Speaker 1: You're texting your son?
- 47:51Speaker 4: Well, I mean, he's not going to eat all of
- 47:53Speaker 4: that and then eat everything he gets on Halloween. Who
- 47:55Speaker 4: eats every piece of candy they got?
- 47:57Speaker 2: I do. I don't. You don't.
- 48:00Speaker 1: But when I was a kid, we grabbed a pillowcase.
- 48:02Speaker 2: We didn't have 13 trunk or treats before.
- 48:05Speaker 4: We have one that we go to. Some people may
- 48:08Speaker 4: have school, may have church, may have mom's work.
- 48:10Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 48:11Speaker 4: I don't have that situation.
- 48:13Speaker 2: You got church. You got school. Then you go to this.
- 48:15Speaker 2: Then you go to the HOA party. And it's ruining
- 48:18Speaker 2: the actual Halloween experience of running around the neighborhood and
- 48:23Speaker 2: going crazy and going door to door. So people are
- 48:25Speaker 2: starting to turn off their porch lights like me.
- 48:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 48:27Speaker 1: What's the point? I'm going to get all this candy
- 48:29Speaker 1: for four kids, four teenagers.
- 48:31Speaker 4: Well, do you just have like older families in your neighborhood?
- 48:34Speaker 3: No.
- 48:34Speaker 4: Because I know a few of our houses are like
- 48:36Speaker 4: older and they just don't have young kids.
- 48:37Speaker 2: We have kids that don't go outside. I don't know
- 48:39Speaker 2: where they're at. I don't know.
- 48:40Speaker 1: There's no kids in my neighborhood. There's barely any kids
- 48:42Speaker 1: in my neighborhood. I live in Carrollton. It sounds like
- 48:44Speaker 1: I live in some weird place.
- 48:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 48:45Speaker 2: I live in a suburb that should be flooded with kids.
- 48:48Speaker 2: But kids are not outside. I barely ever see kids.
- 48:51Speaker 2: I see the kids get off the school bus, so
- 48:53Speaker 2: I know they exist. Yeah.
- 48:54Speaker 3: Right.
- 48:54Speaker 2: I see my friend. My son has friends. Mm-hmm.
- 48:56Speaker 1: But they're just not outside.
- 48:58Speaker 4: Well, you need to put your skelly up, and then
- 48:59Speaker 4: they'll come. They want the energy in the neighborhood. Do
- 49:02Speaker 4: y'all not have a lot of Halloween decorations?
- 49:04Speaker 1: Not as many as I don't know.
- 49:06Speaker 4: Well, that's probably why. The kids don't think anyone's into it. Candace,
- 49:10Speaker 4: come on.
- 49:11Speaker 2: When we were kids, we didn't care if you had
- 49:12Speaker 2: any Halloween decorations up. We were coming no matter what.
- 49:14Speaker 1: We just went to different houses, different houses. Trunk or treat?
- 49:18Speaker 1: That's the lazy way to trick or treat.
- 49:20Speaker 2: Then I got to decorate my car?
- 49:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 49:22Speaker 1: Now I got to dress up my car.
- 49:24Speaker 4: Yeah, but see, ours has fun games to win the candy,
- 49:27Speaker 4: and it's, like, super interactive. The teachers all dress up.
- 49:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 49:30Speaker 1: But back in the day, people would do those games
- 49:33Speaker 1: at their houses. They did?
- 49:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 49:35Speaker 2: Not in my neighborhood.
- 49:37Speaker 6: When I took Chris, my oldest son, when I took
- 49:40Speaker 6: him trick-or-treating, and my other two kids, when I take
- 49:42Speaker 6: them trick-or-treating, that's the beauty.
- 49:44Speaker 1: Of it, going to different neighborhoods.
- 49:45Speaker 6: Yeah, there is something cool about it. You knew what houses,
- 49:47Speaker 6: not to knock on the door, because... They didn't have
- 49:49Speaker 6: their lights on or just look sketch.
- 49:51Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 49:51Speaker 1: So, you know, my kids deviated from that house.
- 49:54Speaker 2: For sure.
- 49:54Speaker 1: Just being able to run wild, that's the beauty of it.
- 49:57Speaker 4: We still do that.
- 49:58Speaker 2: Not in my neighborhood, Candace. I'm telling you, they don't
- 50:01Speaker 2: do it in my neighborhood. I wonder how many people
- 50:02Speaker 2: have kids all over the place. It's not like it
- 50:05Speaker 2: was back in the day.
- 50:06Speaker 4: Well, then maybe they're just on their screens and they
- 50:08Speaker 4: don't care.
- 50:08Speaker 2: Well, then turn the screens off and let your kids
- 50:10Speaker 2: be feral.
- 50:11Speaker 4: Turn the Wi-Fi off on Halloween.
- 50:13Speaker 2: I'm all about it.
- 50:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 50:14Speaker 2: Turn the Wi-Fi off right now.
- 50:15Speaker 4: Put the screens away.
- 50:17Speaker 2: Not here.
- 50:17Speaker 1: Not here.
- 50:18Speaker 2: No, please don't. Actually, go ahead. Our Wi-Fi sucks.
- 50:22Speaker 1: Our Wi-Fi sucks so bad.
- 50:23Speaker 4: We have enough tech problems today.
- 50:24Speaker 2: I have to turn the Wi-Fi off to get on
- 50:26Speaker 2: the Internet. Right. I'm like, well, this doesn't even work.
- 50:29Speaker 2: So I'm just going on record saying it. You may disagree.
- 50:32Speaker 2: You can tell me what you think, but I think trick-or-treats,
- 50:34Speaker 2: the trunk-or-treats, dressing up your car, going to one parking
- 50:39Speaker 2: lot are ruining the entire experience of Halloween.
- 50:42Speaker 4: If that's all you're doing, I agree. But you got
- 50:44Speaker 4: to go house to house.
- 50:45Speaker 1: So my porch light is going to be off is
- 50:47Speaker 1: what I'm saying.
- 50:48Speaker 2: Yes, it is.
- 50:49Speaker 4: You're adding to the problem. Then less kids every year.
- 50:51Speaker 4: They're like, well, that house.
- 50:52Speaker 2: Is no go. Well, there's no kids. I'm waiting for kids.
- 50:55Speaker 2: And it's like one kid. And then I'm like, OK,
- 50:57Speaker 2: you're 14. And that's great. I'm glad.
- 51:00Speaker 1: But I put a costume on. This kid doesn't even
- 51:03Speaker 1: have a costume, comes to my.
- 51:04Speaker 2: Door, trick or treat.
- 51:05Speaker 1: What are you?
- 51:06Speaker 2: Lazy?
- 51:06Speaker 4: It could be worse.
- 51:08Speaker 2: No, it couldn't be worse. If you're 16, dress up.
- 51:11Speaker 2: I'll give you candy.
- 51:12Speaker 4: Yeah, for sure.
- 51:13Speaker 2: Now, if you've got a.
- 51:14Speaker 1: Beard and a full-time job, don't come to my house
- 51:18Speaker 1: and trick or treat.
- 51:20Speaker 4: Give him the beans like you did last year.
- 51:21Speaker 2: I'm giving all. You know what? That's it.
- 51:23Speaker 1: Every kid is getting canned goods this year.
- 51:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 51:27Speaker 2: Happy Halloween. Candace Lopez, somebody just called, and they spend
- 51:37Speaker 2: like $ 1, 000 on candy every year. What?
- 51:39Speaker 1: Yeah. Who was it?
- 51:41Speaker 2: Randy, our boy Randy.
- 51:42Speaker 1: He lives out in Heartland, Texas.
- 51:43Speaker 2: Randy? Yeah.
- 51:44Speaker 4: Go see Randy.
- 51:45Speaker 1: Yeah, he has over 400 trick-or-treaters every year.
- 51:47Speaker 2: He says.
- 51:48Speaker 4: What for him?
- 51:48Speaker 1: Candy Randy. I'm coming to your house, Randy.
- 51:52Speaker 2: Where's he at? In Heartland?
- 51:54Speaker 1: Yeah, Heartland, Texas.
- 51:55Speaker 2: Well, thank you, Randy.
- 51:56Speaker 4: That's amazing.
- 51:57Speaker 1: I'm coming out that way.
- 51:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I know.
- 51:59Speaker 4: Nice budget.
- 52:00Speaker 1: Give out some vodka while you're at it. Some whiskey.
- 52:03Speaker 1: All right, Candace Lopez, what is going on?
- 52:05Speaker 4: Well, we had a record-setting first day of early voting
- 52:08Speaker 4: yesterday in the Metroplex. Dallas County reported around 20,000 more
- 52:12Speaker 4: voters than the first day of early voting in 24.
- 52:15Speaker 4: They also beat the previous record from 2020. The polls
- 52:19Speaker 4: are open already this morning all around the Metroplex. I
- 52:21Speaker 4: heard someone say this yesterday, and it made a lot
- 52:23Speaker 4: of sense to me. They said the election ends... November 3rd.
- 52:26Speaker 4: And I thought that was a really smart way to
- 52:28Speaker 4: look at it. Like you don't have to wait till
- 52:30Speaker 4: election day to vote. Just vote.
- 52:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I know.
- 52:33Speaker 1: That's a great point, actually.
- 52:34Speaker 4: Yeah. Guys, we have a massive meat recall to talk about.
- 52:38Speaker 4: Nearly 1.6 million pounds of ready to eat meat products,
- 52:42Speaker 4: including hot dogs, bacon and other meats were just recalled nationwide.
- 52:46Speaker 4: So these products are from KM Foods. They're being recalled
- 52:50Speaker 4: over potential temperature abuse during storage. This recall is under
- 52:55Speaker 4: the highest level classification. I guess they said a customer
- 52:59Speaker 4: complained about warm product temperatures when they were delivered. They
- 53:03Speaker 4: started investigating and found out that these were stored in
- 53:06Speaker 4: a warehouse cooler that had temperature deviations because of cooling
- 53:09Speaker 4: system malfunction.
- 53:10Speaker 2: That doesn't sound good.
- 53:11Speaker 4: I always wonder, like, well, my product looks good. The
- 53:14Speaker 4: date's good. It's cold. Where has it been, you know,
- 53:17Speaker 4: in between, like, transit time?
- 53:18Speaker 2: Right. Well, I don't know.
- 53:20Speaker 4: You might want to check.
- 53:21Speaker 1: I'm so weird about meat. Yeah. Like, I hate even
- 53:24Speaker 1: freezing meat.
- 53:25Speaker 2: I do, too.
- 53:26Speaker 4: And thawing it.
- 53:27Speaker 2: I do, too. I don't do it.
- 53:28Speaker 1: I just get so nervous, especially if it's, like, chicken.
- 53:30Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. I don't know.
- 53:31Speaker 4: I know. I'm the same. Guys, let's get to these
- 53:34Speaker 4: rumors flying that Jay-Z will be the Super Bowl halftime
- 53:38Speaker 4: show performer. He and Roc Nation have curated these performances
- 53:42Speaker 4: since 2019. So this does make sense. Also, Jay-Z is
- 53:45Speaker 4: doing the 30th anniversary tour celebrating his debut album. He
- 53:50Speaker 4: is already doing two shows at SoFi in Los Angeles,
- 53:53Speaker 4: which is hosting the Super Bowl. So this kind of
- 53:57Speaker 4: makes sense.
- 53:57Speaker 2: I mean, it does, but it's weird that he's the
- 54:00Speaker 2: boss and he's going to pick himself.
- 54:01Speaker 1: I know.
- 54:02Speaker 4: Well, yeah, he's going to pick himself.
- 54:03Speaker 2: I don't mind. I mean, I like Jay-Z. I just
- 54:05Speaker 2: like when it's a medley of different artists.
- 54:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 54:08Speaker 2: I like when it's a combination of maybe like a
- 54:10Speaker 2: throwback artist. Well, I mean, I guess Jay-Z is kind
- 54:12Speaker 2: of a throwback artist at this point.
- 54:13Speaker 4: I mean, doing a 30th anniversary show.
- 54:15Speaker 3: Geez.
- 54:16Speaker 2: I know.
- 54:16Speaker 4: Normally, we get this performer announcement by September, though. It's
- 54:19Speaker 4: already October 20th, so I don't know what the delay
- 54:22Speaker 4: is here.
- 54:23Speaker 2: Can't they just have the best of all worlds? Like
- 54:25Speaker 2: a little pop, a little hip-hop, a little country. Yeah.
- 54:28Speaker 2: All mixed together. Like, you know, have maybe Post Malone
- 54:31Speaker 2: come out with... Yeah.
- 54:33Speaker 1: With Jay-Z.
- 54:34Speaker 2: That'd be fun. Then have Morgan Wallen come out. Then
- 54:36Speaker 2: Miley Cyrus. I like that. Then Michael Jackson.
- 54:40Speaker 6: Oh.
- 54:41Speaker 1: Well, okay.
- 54:42Speaker 2: Maybe Hologram Michael.
- 54:43Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 54:44Speaker 4: I'd be down with that.
- 54:45Speaker 1: It's just a celebration of music.
- 54:47Speaker 3: Yes.
- 54:47Speaker 1: Let's just do it all genres. I don't want just
- 54:49Speaker 1: one genre is what I'm saying.
- 54:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 54:50Speaker 4: Well, we'll see if the announcement comes later today. I'm
- 54:52Speaker 4: Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories.
- 54:59Speaker 2: Get it off your chest.
- 55:00Speaker 4: We promise you'll feel better.
- 55:02Speaker 8: Welcome to Dirty Little Secret with Billy the Kid in
- 55:04Speaker 8: the morning.
- 55:05Speaker 4: The new mix, 102.9.
- 55:06Speaker 2: It is time to confess, so get ready. Plus, we've
- 55:10Speaker 2: got $ 1, 000 coming up next. So if you want a grand,
- 55:13Speaker 2: our cash cow in full effect, we do it all
- 55:15Speaker 2: day long, $ 1, 000 next. All right, 833-787-1029. If you want
- 55:16Speaker 2: to confess, it can be a big secret, a little secret,
- 55:19Speaker 2: it doesn't matter. You can confess to me. My name
- 55:25Speaker 2: is Billy the Kid. Candace Lopez, you can confess to her.
- 55:27Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 55:28Speaker 2: Anytime. Don't confess to Pooh.
- 55:30Speaker 4: He might laugh.
- 55:31Speaker 1: I'll listen.
- 55:32Speaker 2: Yeah, he'll laugh at you. But he'll laugh no matter what. Right.
- 55:35Speaker 2: All right, you have a confession. What is going on?
- 55:38Speaker 5: Okay, so my secret is that, by the way, I
- 55:42Speaker 5: think it's perfectly harmless.
- 55:44Speaker 7: I just want to put it out there.
- 55:46Speaker 5: I'm a hairstylist, and I've been doing hair for a
- 55:48Speaker 5: really long time, but I like to collect some select
- 55:52Speaker 5: people's hair.
- 55:53Speaker 2: Okay, hold on. What?
- 55:55Speaker 1: I told you. You said you collect some of the hair?
- 56:00Speaker 5: Sometimes some people's hair.
- 56:03Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 56:03Speaker 3: What?
- 56:04Speaker 2: Okay. Why?
- 56:06Speaker 1: What are you doing?
- 56:09Speaker 2: How did this start?
- 56:11Speaker 3: Okay.
- 56:12Speaker 2: All right.
- 56:12Speaker 5: So basically a couple of years ago, I had this
- 56:15Speaker 5: male client who he was like super weird, right? Like
- 56:18Speaker 5: I thought this guy might be a serial killer or whatever,
- 56:20Speaker 5: and I'm giving him a cut.
- 56:22Speaker 7: And then after cutting his hair, I'm just like, you
- 56:24Speaker 7: know what? Let me just put like a tiny strand
- 56:26Speaker 7: on a Ziploc bag in case he really is a
- 56:29Speaker 7: serial killer. And we need his DNA.
- 56:31Speaker 5: Like, just like, you don't understand. This guy was saying
- 56:34Speaker 5: some crazy stuff.
- 56:35Speaker 7: So That's just sort of how it started.
- 56:38Speaker 2: Weird.
- 56:39Speaker 4: Forensic evidence?
- 56:40Speaker 2: No.
- 56:41Speaker 1: I kind of like the way your crazy mind thinks, though.
- 56:44Speaker 4: That's something you would do, Billy.
- 56:46Speaker 2: I know. See, now that you're right. That is something
- 56:48Speaker 2: like this guy might have. I might have an issue
- 56:51Speaker 2: with this guy. Let me keep some of his hair. Right.
- 56:54Speaker 1: I kind of see where you're coming from. So you
- 56:56Speaker 1: started doing it.
- 56:57Speaker 7: Yeah, thank you.
- 56:58Speaker 1: It started with him, but then how does it, it
- 57:00Speaker 1: kept going?
- 57:01Speaker 5: Well, okay, if I found someone, like, very interesting or, like,
- 57:05Speaker 5: really attractive, and I would just take, like, a tiny
- 57:07Speaker 5: bit of their hair and just put it in, like,
- 57:09Speaker 5: this little scrapbook I keep at home and, you know,
- 57:11Speaker 5: just label it.
- 57:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 57:12Speaker 7: And it's just, like, a little thing like that.
- 57:13Speaker 2: Right, totally normal.
- 57:14Speaker 4: A scrapbook?
- 57:15Speaker 2: A little hair, a couple hairs.
- 57:17Speaker 1: A scrapbook of hair?
- 57:17Speaker 4: Just put, like, name and date or, like, what?
- 57:21Speaker 2: Yeah, blood type.
- 57:22Speaker 7: Just name it. I don't know the date.
- 57:24Speaker 2: I mean, what's wrong with those? But it's important.
- 57:27Speaker 4: The date is important.
- 57:28Speaker 2: And up next is teeth. We're going to start collecting teeth.
- 57:30Speaker 2: Human teeth. Creepy. Ooh. Ooh. Okay. So that's different. Some
- 57:37Speaker 2: people collect Pokemon cards. Some collect other stuff. You happen
- 57:41Speaker 2: to collect human hair of clients. Wow.
- 57:44Speaker 7: Well, they're not all clients.
- 57:46Speaker 5: I actually, when I started making decent money, I started, like,
- 57:49Speaker 5: buying celebrity hair.
- 57:51Speaker 4: You can do that?
- 57:51Speaker 1: Oh, come on.
- 57:53Speaker 2: Buying celebrity. Now, I've heard of this, and I always
- 57:55Speaker 2: think to myself, like, first of all, how do you
- 57:58Speaker 2: know it's real? Or how do you know it's from them?
- 58:00Speaker 4: But whose? Whose hair would you want?
- 58:03Speaker 2: Whose hair have you bought?
- 58:04Speaker 4: Who has good hair? Oh, a JT curl back in
- 58:06Speaker 4: the day?
- 58:07Speaker 1: The ramen? Would you have bought JT's hair?
- 58:10Speaker 4: Yeah, a piece of the ramen hair.
- 58:11Speaker 2: What? Who do you have?
- 58:14Speaker 5: I actually have a strand of Michael Jackson's hair that
- 58:17Speaker 5: came from like that Pepsi commercial accident where.
- 58:20Speaker 1: His ear got on fire.
- 58:22Speaker 3: No.
- 58:23Speaker 7: Yeah, I paid a few thousand dollars for that.
- 58:26Speaker 4: Stop.
- 58:28Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 58:28Speaker 5: I have a strand of Justin Bieber's hair that I
- 58:30Speaker 5: paid for maybe about $ 1, 000.
- 58:32Speaker 2: No.
- 58:32Speaker 5: I know it sounds crazy, but that hair now is
- 58:36Speaker 5: worth like triple.
- 58:36Speaker 3: Stop.
- 58:37Speaker 2: That is insane. Hold on. I got to look this up.
- 58:40Speaker 4: Please do it because I interviewed him so many times
- 58:43Speaker 4: back in the day. He probably left hair and water
- 58:45Speaker 4: bottles and things.
- 58:46Speaker 2: In the studio.
- 58:47Speaker 1: I've never thought about asking a celebrity for their hair.
- 58:49Speaker 2: All right.
- 58:49Speaker 1: Next interview, we're asking someone for some hair.
- 58:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 58:52Speaker 1: Let me get a lock of that, please.
- 58:53Speaker 2: Wait. Okay. What? I'm looking online right now. Yeah, there's
- 58:58Speaker 2: like auction houses that sell hair.
- 59:02Speaker 3: Really?
- 59:02Speaker 2: You know, I got to be honest. I thought it'd
- 59:04Speaker 2: be way more expensive for like a Justin Bieber hair.
- 59:06Speaker 4: Like a grand?
- 59:07Speaker 3: I mean.
- 59:08Speaker 2: Yeah, that's not. I mean, I'm not saying. I do it.
- 59:10Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 59:11Speaker 1: That's a lot.
- 59:12Speaker 2: Well, I'm not saying $ 1, 000 isn't a lot of money,
- 59:13Speaker 2: but if you're getting like Michael, you have Michael Jackson's hair.
- 59:17Speaker 2: That's iconic.
- 59:18Speaker 4: And who took it and saved it?
- 59:20Speaker 1: Right.
- 59:22Speaker 4: He would have been upset by that, I'm sure.
- 59:24Speaker 1: No, he don't care.
- 59:25Speaker 2: No.
- 59:26Speaker 4: He would have been.
- 59:26Speaker 2: Take some hair.
- 59:27Speaker 1: You're fine.
- 59:29Speaker 2: It was singed anyway.
- 59:31Speaker 4: He would have wanted to give it to you for
- 59:32Speaker 4: free probably, actually.
- 59:34Speaker 1: Yeah, well, that's how the auction house probably got it,
- 59:37Speaker 1: and then they sell it to you.
- 59:38Speaker 6: Oh.
- 59:39Speaker 1: And then we've had so many celebrities in here.
- 59:40Speaker 2: I mean, somebody sold like an old Justin Bieber water
- 59:43Speaker 2: bottle one time that he drank out of for a
- 59:44Speaker 2: ton of money.
- 59:45Speaker 1: I should have done that.
- 59:46Speaker 2: Yeah, same.
- 59:47Speaker 1: Candace, let me see some of your hair.
- 59:49Speaker 4: I'm selling it. It is nice today, though.
- 59:52Speaker 1: It's nice and smooth. I'm going to start in only hair.
- 59:57Speaker 2: Well, some people, this is why you don't tell anybody, though.
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: I get it because it doesn't seem like the most
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: normal activity.
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: No.
- 1:00:05Speaker 5: No, so I don't want to sound like a psychotic
- 1:00:08Speaker 5: person because I'm pretty normal otherwise.
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: You sure?
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: Are you?
- 1:00:14Speaker 4: I used to have a science teacher who collected scabs.
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: Creepy.
- 1:00:19Speaker 4: She would keep them in a jar on her desk.
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: Miss Arnold.
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: Where is she now?
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: In jail? I don't know.
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: Hopefully.
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: We do have a friend that collects fingernails. Yeah, we
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: have a friend who collects toenails and fingernails.
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: And it's the most. Yeah.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: Like, why?
- 1:00:35Speaker 9: She said, oh, how are you going to criticize taking hair?
- 1:00:40Speaker 4: Well, to be fair.
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:00:43Speaker 7: And it's like if it's my client, I've already washed
- 1:00:46Speaker 7: their hair.
- 1:00:46Speaker 5: And all of that.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: That's true.
- 1:00:48Speaker 7: I will admit one thing.
- 1:00:49Speaker 5: I did have this guy spend the night once, and
- 1:00:52Speaker 5: after he left, I found a hair on my pillow,
- 1:00:55Speaker 5: and I got, like, really excited because I didn't have
- 1:00:57Speaker 5: one of his yet.
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 1:00:59Speaker 4: Do you have a bingo card for hair?
- 1:01:01Speaker 5: Oh, my God.
- 1:01:03Speaker 7: No, you know, I say that out loud because people
- 1:01:05Speaker 7: think I'm weird.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: Yeah. Oh, he left a hair. Yeah, voodoo.
- 1:01:13Speaker 7: Oh, my God.
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: Let me put it in my scrapbook.
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: That scrapbook.
- 1:01:19Speaker 7: Only because I really liked him.
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: Right. Okay. Well, listen. Hey, you do you. It's not
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: hurting anybody. Is it creepy? No. Sure. Are you going
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: to end up in jail? Maybe. But at the end
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: of the day, it's a fascinating story. So thank you
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: very much for your confession. It's a non-judgment zone. So
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: you're good. You're good in our book.
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:01:38Speaker 4: You might solve a case someday.
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: Right. I hope so.
- 1:01:41Speaker 4: I hope so.
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: Mix 102.9.
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: We're about to get out of here. It's Bailey the Kid,
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: Candice Lopez, Producer Pooh. Don't forget we got money all day,
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: so make sure you listen if you want some cash. $ 1, 000.
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: We got our cash cow. It's big.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: It sits in the other room. You can milk it
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: for cash. Just do it. Candice, what do you got
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: going on today? You got your serious glasses on.
- 1:02:09Speaker 4: I have ice strain today.
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: I know.
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: I had to put my glasses on.
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: Do you really? Yeah.
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: Something's going on with me, too.
- 1:02:14Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: I don't usually get ice strain during the show. That's
- 1:02:17Speaker 4: usually like in the afternoon.
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: I've been dizzy all morning. Really? And don't feel good.
- 1:02:21Speaker 4: Weird.
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: Are you sick?
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: No, it's not like I'm getting sick. It just feels
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: like I feel like off, like allergies or something.
- 1:02:26Speaker 4: Maybe that's what it is.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: Some kind of allergies this time of the year? Yeah,
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: I've kind of got a headache.
- 1:02:30Speaker 4: Maybe it's our new AC.
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know what it is.
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: When I say it, I'm sick, but when you say it,
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: it's okay. Well, you come in like this. I don't
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: know what's going on. But it's allergies. No, it's not.
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: You're sick.
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: Oh, my gosh.
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: Yeah, see?
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: But Pooh does get sick, and then he won't admit
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: he's sick. If I'm sick, I'll say, well, I'm sick.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: So you're not sick now. It's just allergies.
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: No, I'm not sick.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: I'm dizzy.
- 1:02:56Speaker 4: Maybe we're getting sick.
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: No, I'm not getting sick.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: Okay, well, I'm fine.
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: I'm fine.
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: How do you know?
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: Well, I don't know how the guy who survives off
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: Sour Patch Kids and Chipotle. Right.
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: I don't even know if it's that. I don't know
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: what's going on.
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: But it's the person who comes to work sick who
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: says he's not sick that gets everybody else sick.
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: That's true. That's Producer Pooh. Pooh, what are you doing today?
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: I've got to go to Azle Art Supply. I'm going
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: to go pick up this.
- 1:03:23Speaker 6: Airbrush kit because my 13-year-old Paul wants to learn how
- 1:03:26Speaker 6: to airbrush.
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: He told me Sunday and I forgot all about it.
- 1:03:29Speaker 4: Did he see it at the fair?
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: Yeah, he did.
- 1:03:33Speaker 4: My kiddo saw it at the fair, too.
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: He wants to learn how to airbrush? Of course, I
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: know how to do it, so I was like, yeah.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: Sweet.
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: Yeah, when I was younger, I used to airbrush on
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: overalls and stuff.
- 1:03:45Speaker 4: Yeah, do some custom shirts and hats.
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: And Trader's Village and Big T. I used to do that.
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: I've never seen you airbrush. I've known you for 30 years.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: Well, I mean, I haven't had no reason to, but yeah,
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: I can do it. I haven't had no reason to.
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: Azel Art Supply. Yeah, right downtown. Downtown?
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: Yeah. It's not in Azel? No, no. No, the name
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: of the.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: Place is A-S-E-L Art Supply.
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: Yeah, right downtown off the tollway. Oh, I thought you
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: meant like it's in Hazel.
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: I did too.
- 1:04:12Speaker 6: I was like, that's far. No, I wasn't driving to
- 1:04:14Speaker 6: Hazel for some art supply. No, it's right downstream.
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: Oh, okay. All right. Well, enjoy that. I'm sure we'll
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: see it on your Instagram where you'll be selling hats now.
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: I'll buy one.
- 1:04:22Speaker 4: Enzo wants one.
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: Let's go.
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: Make us some. I don't think he could still do it.
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: What?
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: I don't think he could do it. I can.
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: Make us some hats.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: Yeah. I'll do something. I'll give you a little something.
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: No. I'm not going to charge you. I'll make it
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: for you and Candace. Oh, thanks. He's not going to
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: charge us, Candace. Good, because we weren't paying.
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: Okay, bye.
