- 1:31Speaker 1: of the rooms in the back, but I am wearing
- 1:37Speaker 1: my brand new Los Angeles Chargers hoodie because Eric Coriol,

- 1:53Speaker 1: know it and I know it. So we'll just go

- 2:11Speaker 1: Still you haven't broken him. No, you broke the other
- 2:15Speaker 1: two bibbleheads. You broke Lane. You broke Lane, which was disappointed,
- 2:22Speaker 1: and you broke Snitker. Oh yeah, so you you broke
- 2:28Speaker 1: the the Snitker Bible, which I can't get another one
- 2:31Speaker 1: because it was Embraves. It was supposed to be a collectible.
- 2:34Speaker 1: So you broke that. And then you broke the Lane
- 2:37Speaker 1: Kiff and bobble Head doll that we've had for several
- 2:39Speaker 1: years on the set. We've got a couple of out
- 2:45Speaker 1: of bounds and Whiskey sixty one hats on the set
- 2:49Speaker 1: and it broke and a Tito's Vodka helm football helmet,
- 2:54Speaker 1: so I think it's a pretty it's a pretty cool deal.
- 2:58Speaker 1: And fused dot cloud helmets and the fiber to this
- 3:03Speaker 1: studio is powered by our friends at Fuse dot Cloud
- 3:08Speaker 1: f U s E. That's right, the fiber to this
- 3:11Speaker 1: studio is powered by fus dot Cloud. They're awesome. I
- 3:16Speaker 1: see they've gotten an American flag on the back of
- 3:18Speaker 1: their helmet. I like that too. Fuse dot Cloud f
- 3:23Speaker 1: U s E. They're local, They're awesome to deal with,
- 3:27Speaker 1: a great company, manage it fiber all kinds of cool stuff,
- 3:32Speaker 1: really great story f U s E fuse dot cloud.
- 3:34Speaker 1: All right, so we would like to hear from you.
- 3:38Speaker 1: We need a we need a roll call. I don't
- 3:41Speaker 1: know if we got enough predictions yesterday, so I'll just
- 3:43Speaker 1: keep throwing it out throughout the summer. I'd like to
- 3:46Speaker 1: know who you think will win the SEC and who
- 3:48Speaker 1: you think will win the National Championship. I'll throw in
- 3:52Speaker 1: two rounds of golf to Dancing Rabbit Golf Club, an
- 3:55Speaker 1: out of bounds hat, and we'll do some more bars.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Oh my god, we've got so much s balone stuff
- 4:02Speaker 1: it's crazy. So we can throw in a little barswag
- 4:06Speaker 1: bar kit for the out of Bounds prize pack giveaway.
- 4:09Speaker 1: But we'd like to know three things. As you know,
- 4:12Speaker 1: how are you listening? One oh five nine the zone
- 4:15Speaker 1: or streaming? That's one. Question number two is where are
- 4:21Speaker 1: you listening from? And question three you can go either
- 4:24Speaker 1: way or both. Who will win the SEC, who will
- 4:26Speaker 1: win the national title? Who will win the SEC? Who
- 4:30Speaker 1: will win the National title? The text line that we
- 4:33Speaker 1: hope you put in your phone so that you can
- 4:34Speaker 1: always enter to possibly win is six oh one, eight, eight, five, three, seven,
- 4:42Speaker 1: seven six six one eight eight five three seven seven six.
- 4:49Speaker 1: I like Georgia and I like I like them to
- 4:55Speaker 1: be able to manage their schedule. I mean, they got
- 5:00Speaker 1: two brutal road games at Bama and at ole Miss,
- 5:03Speaker 1: but then they got a lot of stuff that they
- 5:04Speaker 1: can definitely manage, right. I mean, if they can get
- 5:09Speaker 1: one of those two road games, okay, and then they
- 5:13Speaker 1: just drop one more, they go ten and two, they're good. Now.
- 5:17Speaker 1: I don't know how many ten and two teams we're
- 5:19Speaker 1: gonna have this year. I just with the nine game schedule,
- 5:26Speaker 1: I don't expect anybody to go eleven and one, and
- 5:30Speaker 1: I'm not sure how many will have go ten and two.
- 5:36Speaker 1: I think it's gonna be few and far between. And
- 5:38Speaker 1: then I think we'll have several that are in that
- 5:40Speaker 1: eight and four to nine in three space. But that's
- 5:42Speaker 1: not gonna be enough to get it in. It will
- 5:44Speaker 1: get you in as soon as they expand the playoff.
- 5:48Speaker 1: But this year is gonna be a weird year. I
- 5:50Speaker 1: don't know how it's gonna look for Sanke and the SEC,
- 5:55Speaker 1: and with Notre Dame having a cake walk and supposed
- 5:59Speaker 1: to be good I'm just not I don't I don't
- 6:02Speaker 1: know if I love that. And they're still letting G
- 6:05Speaker 1: five G six teams in, which makes no sense to me.
- 6:10Speaker 1: And of course we had two in last year who
- 6:11Speaker 1: had no business being in the College Football Playoff Lane
- 6:15Speaker 1: two Lane and James Madison. And what I'm saying when
- 6:17Speaker 1: I say that is I don't take anything away from
- 6:20Speaker 1: their coaches, players and the season they had. They just
- 6:23Speaker 1: need to be in a final four for the G five.
- 6:26Speaker 1: I mean, let's get straight to it. Semi final, two
- 6:28Speaker 1: semi final games that'll have some spice and pop, and
- 6:32Speaker 1: then let's do a championship game boom, and let's let's
- 6:37Speaker 1: do all that. But I yeah, that's another question. How
- 6:41Speaker 1: many now that we're going from eight games to non
- 6:45Speaker 1: conference games, how many teams do you think will make
- 6:49Speaker 1: it from the SEC? Because I don't think anybody's going
- 6:52Speaker 1: eleven and one and if we have one, maybe two
- 6:57Speaker 1: go ten and two. I mean, unless you think y'all,
- 7:02Speaker 1: unless y'all think there's gonna be a run in ten
- 7:04Speaker 1: and two teams, I don't see it.
- 7:07Speaker 2: So now where we've backed ourselves into a corner of
- 7:10Speaker 2: possibly getting one team in outside of what we have
- 7:14Speaker 2: been doing.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Okay, bold move. I mean Oklahoma, who was very pedestrian,
- 7:21Speaker 1: won it last year. I mean I got in last year.
- 7:26Speaker 1: You know, Tennessee the year before, who was very pedestrian,
- 7:31Speaker 1: he got in the year before. I mean you didn't
- 7:37Speaker 1: see a lot of pop and sizzle. Okay, that's just
- 7:41Speaker 1: where we are. The dominant teams of Alabama, Georgia, Florida
- 7:46Speaker 1: under urban, Ohio State under urban, some others daba. I
- 7:52Speaker 1: mean he had two phenomenal, four really really good teams
- 7:55Speaker 1: too that won the championship. I just think that that
- 7:59Speaker 1: deal has sailed. So we've got a seven sixty nine
- 8:04Speaker 1: area code on the Dancing Rabbit Golf text line six
- 8:07Speaker 1: oh one eight eight five three seven seven six. I
- 8:12Speaker 1: love this. He's listing on one oh five nine of
- 8:14Speaker 1: the zone. He's driving to Vicksburg, and he just I
- 8:19Speaker 1: just threw Oklahoma under the bus, and he said, Boomer sooner, Natty.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Uh sorry, buddy, I didn't mean to throw your Brian Bosworth.
- 8:27Speaker 1: You're you're fighting Brian Bosworth's under the uh under the bus.
- 8:32Speaker 1: You know, when I was in uh junior high, seventh grade,
- 8:36Speaker 1: I guess Bosworth was the thing and the seniors at
- 8:41Speaker 1: my school all got Boz haircuts of course when I
- 8:46Speaker 1: was Yeah, and Bozz also colored his hair on the
- 8:52Speaker 1: sides where he shaved it. He would shave it, then
- 8:55Speaker 1: there'd be hair, then he'd shave it, then there'd be hair,
- 8:57Speaker 1: and then he had Really it was kind of a
- 9:00Speaker 1: how would y'all describe it? It was kind of a
- 9:02Speaker 1: mohawk mohawk tail. Yeah, Uh wanted to be a mullet. Yeah,
- 9:08Speaker 1: it wasn't, but it wasn't a mullet. It was like
- 9:10Speaker 1: a a mohawk mullet. Yeah, which I don't know what
- 9:14Speaker 1: we could call that. Mo Let me write that down.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Mohawk mullet. Very very it's kind of kind of a
- 9:26Speaker 1: right right of passage in rural America and travel ball
- 9:30Speaker 1: for your eight or nine year old or ten year
- 9:32Speaker 1: old to have that kind of that haircut. And yeah,
- 9:36Speaker 1: it was while you're you're you're in one hundred and
- 9:39Speaker 1: forty seven degree heat playing four baseball games in a day.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Drug Dog says, you can call it the Clinton cut.
- 9:48Speaker 1: He just took a shot at your and it's early.
- 9:52Speaker 1: He just took a shot at your at your hometown. Yeah,
- 9:55Speaker 1: I thought he was talking about Bill.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Let's say Bill did have a fade.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Well, I mean it, what would the would the mohawk
- 10:04Speaker 1: mullet be a haircut that you would see in Clinton?
- 10:08Speaker 1: I would I would have rocked it. You would have
- 10:09Speaker 1: rocked I would have killed all right.
- 10:12Speaker 2: I don't know about all the you know, the the
- 10:14Speaker 2: graffiti in the side of the head. He's got all
- 10:17Speaker 2: kinds of designs and shapes, and that is, you know,
- 10:20Speaker 2: part for the course. Now at travel ball tournaments, everybody
- 10:24Speaker 2: they got the number.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Oh do they?
- 10:26Speaker 2: So?
- 10:27Speaker 1: Now if you're number seven, it's in it's it's shaved
- 10:30Speaker 1: in your head.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Okay, your head? All right, we're doing that a long
- 10:33Speaker 2: time ago. But he was doing it way before us.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Boz. Boz ran college football for for his junior and
- 10:42Speaker 1: senior year. Yeah, And it's it's almost impossible for us
- 10:47Speaker 1: to wrap our brain around the fact that two defensive
- 10:52Speaker 1: players were the biggest stars in the eighties, Brian Bosworth
- 10:56Speaker 1: and Dion Sanders. They were the biggest personalities and they
- 10:59Speaker 1: were on the defensive side. Now we don't even let
- 11:02Speaker 1: them get any oxygen in the room. I mean, it's
- 11:05Speaker 1: all offense. Quarterbacks absolutely dominate this show. They dominate the
- 11:10Speaker 1: big topics. It's QB one's and then you mix in
- 11:13Speaker 1: some wide receivers and that you could not have that today.
- 11:17Speaker 1: I mean Charles Woodson tried to be a star, but
- 11:21Speaker 1: he didn't have He's a great player, yeah, okay, great player,
- 11:26Speaker 1: you know, better than Baz at the pro level. Obviously
- 11:29Speaker 1: Dion's a Hall of Famer too, but Charles Woodson, and
- 11:32Speaker 1: if you've listened to show, he's my favorite defensive player
- 11:35Speaker 1: the last twenty or so years in the in the NFL,
- 11:39Speaker 1: But he didn't have that pop in interviews. He's got
- 11:45Speaker 1: a great personality now, but he just bizz and Dion
- 11:50Speaker 1: could find a microphone. Oh he didn't really. Charles Woodson
- 11:53Speaker 1: didn't run to find a microphone. And he was phenomenal player.
- 11:58Speaker 1: They let him play two ways that year. Blah blah blah.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Everybody got especially the Midwest Northeast media got all. I
- 12:05Speaker 1: mean they swooned, got hot and bothered over it. Blah
- 12:09Speaker 1: blah blah. And that was the last few years of
- 12:13Speaker 1: them dominating kind of the narrative and all the big
- 12:18Speaker 1: newspapers were still up there, and so you know, again
- 12:23Speaker 1: he won the Heisman over Peyton Manning. That would never
- 12:25Speaker 1: happen today. No, okay, because of the ship in power
- 12:29Speaker 1: and population and in the Sun Belt, and ever we
- 12:34Speaker 1: have access to phones and twenty four to seven sports
- 12:40Speaker 1: and sports talk radio and so on.
- 12:41Speaker 2: The just mentioned nineteen eighties defensive players and left somebody.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Out Derreck Thomas lt Well. Nobody talks about lt at
- 12:51Speaker 1: North Carolina. Okay, yes, no, no, nobody talks about Lawrence
- 12:55Speaker 1: Taylor until he got paired up with Belichick and Bill
- 12:58Speaker 1: Parcells with the New York North Carolina during that time
- 13:02Speaker 1: was all Michael Jordan, Dean Yeah, look, Michael Jordan, James
- 13:06Speaker 1: Worthy and Dean Smith. That was the There was no
- 13:09Speaker 1: more oxygen in the room to even think about six
- 13:13Speaker 1: sixty five hundred people went to football games a dated
- 13:16Speaker 1: care they was he? I mean, was he that good
- 13:20Speaker 1: in college? I don't remember North Carolina. I never watched
- 13:23Speaker 1: North Carolina football in the in the eighties. I watched
- 13:27Speaker 1: North Carolina basketball, sure, because of Dean Smith. And again
- 13:32Speaker 1: all those guys who who went through like Perkins and
- 13:36Speaker 1: Jordan and Worthy and Dordery and you know, JR. Reid
- 13:40Speaker 1: was supposed to be the greatest thing ever and he
- 13:42Speaker 1: ended up being. You know, he was kind of like
- 13:45Speaker 1: Kenny sky Walker. Those are the two recruits for me
- 13:48Speaker 1: in the eighties that signed with Blue Bloods. But they
- 13:50Speaker 1: were not I mean good. They're very good players. They're
- 13:54Speaker 1: pretty good players, yeah, but didn't have that, you know,
- 14:00Speaker 1: didn't have close to the drive of some of these
- 14:02Speaker 1: other guys. I think they were also part of that
- 14:06Speaker 1: first movement of telling players how awesome they were. Yes,
- 14:11Speaker 1: and they came after the stars had already set the
- 14:15Speaker 1: table at Kentucky and North Carolina, and maybe they just
- 14:20Speaker 1: I don't think that they had the dog. You know,
- 14:23Speaker 1: Jordan woke up every morning and thought somebody was talking
- 14:26Speaker 1: about his game, right, and he believed that for somehow
- 14:31Speaker 1: he Brady did the same thing. But he wired his
- 14:34Speaker 1: brain to think that he could lose his spot in
- 14:38Speaker 1: the starting lineup. So he was at the gym before
- 14:40Speaker 1: everybody had stayed long after. Kenny sky Walker at Kentucky
- 14:46Speaker 1: and Jr. Reid at North Carolina did not have that dog.
- 14:49Speaker 1: They did not have that Jake Mangam in them.
- 14:51Speaker 2: No, no, no, no.
- 14:56Speaker 1: So. But but to answer your question on Lawrence Taylor,
- 15:00Speaker 1: nobody was talking about him at North Carolina. They were
- 15:03Speaker 1: talking about Brian Bosworth and Deon Sanders. Yeah, and Derek
- 15:07Speaker 1: Thomas in the eighties, those guys were were and Dion
- 15:12Speaker 1: and Boz were big personalities. Derek was was not that.
- 15:15Speaker 1: That wasn't how Bama was was wired to happen. Yeah,
- 15:21Speaker 1: that they weren't going to push out a player like that.
- 15:24Speaker 1: It was just more of a conservative way at that
- 15:28Speaker 1: time publicizing or not publicizing their players. However you want
- 15:34Speaker 1: to look at it, right, Yeah, yeah, I'm glad we
- 15:38Speaker 1: went down that that road though. That was that was fun.
- 15:42Speaker 1: Uh wow. J R. Reid and Kenny Skywalker. Mm hmmm.
- 15:48Speaker 1: LT played in four ball games. Do you want to
- 15:51Speaker 1: hear the ball games they won? All right, let me guess.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Hold on, god, there weren't many back then, nineteen seventy seven.
- 16:00Speaker 1: They did win the blue Bonnet Bowl in nineteen eighty. Okay,
- 16:03Speaker 1: that's not I always got cracked up at that as
- 16:05Speaker 1: a kid, because I was like, there's a blue Bonnet Bowl, Like,
- 16:10Speaker 1: you know, I'd be like eight years old. Huh in
- 16:13Speaker 1: I don't. I don't even know what it is. It
- 16:15Speaker 1: may be, butter, that's a great question. I have no
- 16:19Speaker 1: idea think, Oh God, is it so that's when they
- 16:23Speaker 1: started killing people in nineteen eighty when big food took over.
- 16:26Speaker 1: I guess so, oh lord yea, but is it really
- 16:30Speaker 1: all right? Let me guess some other balls? All right,
- 16:32Speaker 1: blue bonnet, there's liberty or peach?
- 16:37Speaker 2: Okay, liberty for sure. Okay, Uh, there's one more. I
- 16:41Speaker 2: think you got Hall of Fame Bowl in Birmingham.
- 16:48Speaker 1: No, all right, Hey was that the East West Shrine Bowl?
- 16:51Speaker 2: No?
- 16:52Speaker 1: The Hall of Fame Bowl was actually like a bowlga.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Mississippi State played Kansas in it in nineteen eighty one.
- 16:56Speaker 1: It was an actual yeah okay, yeah, Bond and them
- 17:00Speaker 1: went in eighty one. Uh, that'd be John Bond, top
- 17:06Speaker 1: four quarterback in Mississippi State. Uh, okay, blue Bonnet Bowl,
- 17:13Speaker 1: Liberty Bowl. Did they go to the sun Ball? No,
- 17:18Speaker 1: it was you're on the right train. They went to
- 17:19Speaker 1: one of your I think this is one of your
- 17:21Speaker 1: favorite cities. Say the Peach. You did say the peach?
- 17:23Speaker 1: No peach, okay, no peach? All right.
- 17:25Speaker 2: Um.
- 17:28Speaker 1: I can't even think of that many bowls other than
- 17:30Speaker 1: the you know, the big ones, the Sugar and the
- 17:32Speaker 1: Rose and the Orange and the I don't even know
- 17:34Speaker 1: if we had the Fiesta yet. But the little bowls
- 17:38Speaker 1: like Liberty, Blue Bonnet, Hall of Fame Sun Bowl.
- 17:44Speaker 2: Uh, give it to me, Gata. Oh, I can't believe
- 17:50Speaker 2: I was waiting. I was in no way you forget this.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Gator Bawl.
- 17:53Speaker 1: I mean Mississippi State went like three times in six years. Okay,
- 17:58Speaker 1: that's a good bowl. I went. I went the first
- 17:59Speaker 1: year they went to the to the when they played Michigan.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Speaking of this, you know, we were from a scandal
- 18:07Speaker 1: earlier and Harball and Sharon Moore and Ward Manuel and
- 18:10Speaker 1: who who if Ward Manuel is gonna get fired at Michigan. Uh?
- 18:15Speaker 1: I went to the Gator Bowl yet. But then we
- 18:17Speaker 1: went Bar two and I went back a few years
- 18:19Speaker 1: later to the Florida Georgia cocktail Party. As I've talked about,
- 18:22Speaker 1: that's that's actually a lot more. I had such low expectations.
- 18:28Speaker 1: I was happy that we were going. I was gonna
- 18:30Speaker 1: hang out with Bar two. We're gonna have some beverages,
- 18:32Speaker 1: have fun either way. But I did not know that
- 18:36Speaker 1: that game is that much fun. I mean the Florida
- 18:42Speaker 1: Georgia game, the cocktail party in a neutral field. I
- 18:45Speaker 1: just thought, nah, because I'd already been down there. And
- 18:48Speaker 1: I was like, I don't see it, and hell hell
- 18:53Speaker 1: to the yes. They they know how to separate all
- 18:58Speaker 1: those parking lots because NFL is not great. You know,
- 19:01Speaker 1: we're used to the junction and the grove and some
- 19:04Speaker 1: other places of grass and trees and tailgating, right, and
- 19:09Speaker 1: that's not how it is at NFL stadiums, as you know,
- 19:12Speaker 1: they tailgate on asphalt and concrete or whatever, pavement and
- 19:19Speaker 1: h But the fact that they it's a Georgia than
- 19:21Speaker 1: of Florida, than a Georgia then of Florida all the
- 19:23Speaker 1: way around the stadium is really cool.
- 19:27Speaker 2: Could you imagine?
- 19:28Speaker 1: So Lt went to four Bowl that was like unheard
- 19:30Speaker 1: of at North Carolina.
- 19:31Speaker 2: They were they were bowling back then, I guess many.
- 19:34Speaker 2: And it sounds like he wasn't what he was.
- 19:37Speaker 1: He was at North Carolina in the seventies, right right
- 19:39Speaker 1: up until I mean, he was seventy seven, eight nine nine.
- 19:43Speaker 1: I'm sorry, let's skip that seventy seven, Okay, he was
- 19:48Speaker 1: on eighty one. He was by the jobs. Yeah, he
- 19:50Speaker 1: was Rookie of the Year, defensive player. Good grief. And
- 19:53Speaker 1: then they go and get Parcels and Belichick and they
- 19:56Speaker 1: find the magic and win two Super Bowls Defensive Player
- 19:59Speaker 1: of the Year like three four times. Well, dude, he's
- 20:02Speaker 1: an MVP. I mean, he's unbelievable. That might be one
- 20:07Speaker 1: of the most dominant decades ever. I think he's a
- 20:12Speaker 1: top I don't think he is a top five most
- 20:16Speaker 1: dominant defensive player in the history of the NFL. I mean,
- 20:19Speaker 1: you can go where you want to go, but he's
- 20:21Speaker 1: in it right And if you only have four, he's
- 20:24Speaker 1: still on the mount rushmore. Yes, he makes the cut. Now,
- 20:28Speaker 1: whoever else you want to put on theirs is fine,
- 20:31Speaker 1: But he's the one that they wrote the book. He's
- 20:34Speaker 1: the one when they decided to make him an edge rusher.
