Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Here's your host, Alex Garrett.
- 0:11Speaker 2: And as fans are making their way to Giants fan
- 0:13Speaker 2: Fest this evening, I've got a big, big fan of
- 0:17Speaker 2: the New York Football Giants. In fact, he calls himselves
- 0:20Speaker 2: Giants Sing jazz Meat Sing. He's only going to be
- 0:24Speaker 2: a fan fest tonight, but he also is going to
- 0:27Speaker 2: be there for the entirety of the home slate for
- 0:30Speaker 2: the hundredth season. Jazz Meat, thanks for joining me, and
- 0:33Speaker 2: also thanks and our media for making this connection. Jazz Meat,
- 0:37Speaker 2: thanks for joining me today.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Yep. So, hey guys, thank you Alex for having me on.
- 0:45Speaker 1: It's great great to be on the show. Yes, I
- 0:47Speaker 1: do know Nathan for quite some time now. But yeah,
- 0:51Speaker 1: so I'm a diehard Giants fan. I was. I'm the
- 0:55Speaker 1: for generation Giants fan, you could say, because my family
- 0:58Speaker 1: is the family of immigrat uh my dad, mom, like,
- 1:01Speaker 1: we all moved here in two thousand and one and
- 1:05Speaker 1: uh and that's when I actually I was. I was
- 1:09Speaker 1: like literally grew up in India at that time. Till
- 1:12Speaker 1: that time when I moved here, I didn't have like
- 1:16Speaker 1: cricket was not a sport here, so you know, I
- 1:18Speaker 1: mean I started watching baseball because of Yankees and stuff.
- 1:21Speaker 1: But but then football was like one of one of
- 1:24Speaker 1: the sport that that that everyone used to play. My
- 1:26Speaker 1: high school football team was good a lode I Rams,
- 1:31Speaker 1: So you know what, I wanted to know more about football.
- 1:33Speaker 1: I the temple I used to go to, everyone was
- 1:36Speaker 1: a Giants fan there. All the kids growing up wearing
- 1:38Speaker 1: Giants jerseys and like on Sundays had the practices. Uh.
- 1:43Speaker 1: So I started watching football in their basement. Uh. And
- 1:47Speaker 1: then that's when I started to know this sport, got
- 1:50Speaker 1: in love with the sport. Uh. And then when Eli
- 1:53Speaker 1: got drafted, that's when it was a totally different vibe
- 1:57Speaker 1: in New York, like, oh, we got a we got
- 1:59Speaker 1: a nice back, Peten's brother, you know all that stuff.
- 2:02Speaker 1: That's when I got I got to read more about
- 2:06Speaker 1: like what what exactly these players are, what the things are.
- 2:09Speaker 1: But then fast forward, you know when he won a
- 2:13Speaker 1: Super Bowl. I was a casual fan till then, I
- 2:16Speaker 1: mean watching games here and there, but like, you know,
- 2:19Speaker 1: rocking my Giants like gear Giants T shirt or something.
- 2:21Speaker 1: I didn't have jersey back then. I was waiting till
- 2:24Speaker 1: you know, I didn't know what, but why why you
- 2:27Speaker 1: wear jersey? Or do we wear jersey? You know. But
- 2:30Speaker 1: funny story, So you know, when Giants won the Super Bowl,
- 2:34Speaker 1: that's when I actually I become a diehard fan.
- 2:40Speaker 2: I understand that you actually were watching some games in
- 2:43Speaker 2: the basement of your seekh temple at the time. Tell
- 2:47Speaker 2: us about that.
- 2:48Speaker 1: So so when I used to watch football in the basement,
- 2:51Speaker 1: like you know, like with with with a bunch of
- 2:53Speaker 1: my friends who grew up in Giants families, that made
- 2:56Speaker 1: me interesting. And then after that when Eli got drafted,
- 3:02Speaker 1: that there was a totally different vibe you know in
- 3:04Speaker 1: New York City, like you know, the Paton's brother is here.
- 3:08Speaker 1: You know, Eli is going to be the next Giants quarterback.
- 3:11Speaker 1: All so, all those all those good stories, good vibes,
- 3:15Speaker 1: and I started watching Giants more often, more like, you know,
- 3:18Speaker 1: with more interest. Fast forward to two thousand and seven,
- 3:23Speaker 1: that's when we were on the first Super Bowl. That's
- 3:25Speaker 1: what converted me from a part timer a fan of
- 3:31Speaker 1: the New York Football Giants to like a die hard
- 3:33Speaker 1: New York Football Giants. Since then, I have not missed
- 3:37Speaker 1: a single game either on TV or in the stadium, watching,
- 3:42Speaker 1: rooting for them, trying with them, happy, excited, with them.
- 3:47Speaker 1: You know, I've I've had, I have suffered or I've
- 3:50Speaker 1: enjoyed every single moment. But this team has given me
- 3:55Speaker 1: twenty eleven super Bowl. I've seen it, you know. And
- 3:59Speaker 1: now I'm in all this drought, like all the stuff
- 4:02Speaker 1: out that we have, I'm being part of it everything,
- 4:05Speaker 1: you know. So that's so now big Blue runs in me.
- 4:10Speaker 1: When my older son was born, the first jersey he
- 4:14Speaker 1: had was a Giant jersey. First shirt he had was
- 4:16Speaker 1: a Giant shirt. His first photo shoot was a Giants
- 4:19Speaker 1: photo shoot, you know. Same thing I did with my
- 4:22Speaker 1: my little one who was born last year. He's fifteen
- 4:25Speaker 1: months now, same thing. His first photo shoot was a
- 4:29Speaker 1: Giants photo shoot. So yeah, so that's that's that's that's
- 4:31Speaker 1: where I am. That's where I my my fandom is.
- 4:35Speaker 1: I started. I became a season ticket holder late because
- 4:38Speaker 1: I used to go with my uncle to a few games.
- 4:42Speaker 1: I used to go with my friends to hear two
- 4:45Speaker 1: games here and there. Because I was never a stadium person.
- 4:48Speaker 1: It's not like I never watched the Giants. I always
- 4:51Speaker 1: watched the Giants every single game, but not in the stadium.
- 4:54Speaker 1: But then my son came up to me once and
- 4:57Speaker 1: he said like, hey, Dad, like you know, he was
- 5:00Speaker 1: five years old, like four years ago. So that's when
- 5:03Speaker 1: he told me that I want to go to the game,
- 5:06Speaker 1: every single game, you know, in the stadium. So I
- 5:10Speaker 1: was like, okay, it's time for me too. I guess
- 5:12Speaker 1: to buy season tickets. So I started with like three
- 5:15Speaker 1: hundred level, the cheapest ones possible, whatever it was available.
- 5:18Speaker 1: We sat there for a year and he was like
- 5:22Speaker 1: that I want to move down, you know he was.
- 5:24Speaker 1: He was pretty demanding. So I look around whatever, like,
- 5:28Speaker 1: you know, even I wanted to move down, you know,
- 5:29Speaker 1: because upstairs it's not like upstairs is not fun. But
- 5:32Speaker 1: you know the games like you know Eagles or like
- 5:35Speaker 1: the years rounded but like all Eagles fans, because everyone
- 5:37Speaker 1: sells their tickets, being in the stadium is a totally
- 5:40Speaker 1: different wive understood. I understood after year one. And now
- 5:44Speaker 1: I'm going into my fourth year as a season ticket
- 5:47Speaker 1: holder full time, every single game, and I love being
- 5:53Speaker 1: part of that Giants big blue family. At the tailgates.
- 5:58Speaker 1: A couple of tailgates have accept me. You know, they
- 6:01Speaker 1: welcome me every single week, they welcome my son every
- 6:04Speaker 1: single week. We are we are the Sunday buddies basically
- 6:08Speaker 1: on on any given day, game day at home.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Tell us about the content you put out there supporting
- 6:14Speaker 2: Big Blue.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Yeah, so so content wise, I'm not like a big
- 6:18Speaker 1: content creator. I'm not like a big analyst when it
- 6:21Speaker 1: comes to like sports, like not like talking Giants or
- 6:24Speaker 1: like you know or like Giants like other other giants,
- 6:28Speaker 1: like content creators that are there authentic, you know. But
- 6:32Speaker 1: but I'm like, I'm more into like a non bias
- 6:35Speaker 1: like Giants fan. I'm more of a fan than than
- 6:38Speaker 1: a content creator. You could say, I never I give
- 6:42Speaker 1: my honest reviews. I give my review but like I'd
- 6:45Speaker 1: never say I never go out and then analyze a player.
- 6:48Speaker 1: You know. So all my videos, all my things are
- 6:51Speaker 1: like you know, about the Giants, like news about the
- 6:55Speaker 1: Giants or or something that's coming up, something to hyping
- 6:59Speaker 1: up the crowd or hyping up like you know, my
- 7:02Speaker 1: followers like, oh hey, this is coming up. So if
- 7:05Speaker 1: you've seen my last few posts, I'm talking all about
- 7:08Speaker 1: this Giant Giant weekend that's starting tonight, from the Fan
- 7:11Speaker 1: Fast to the five K run tomorrow going into the
- 7:14Speaker 1: Giants home opener. So I'm going to all three of them.
- 7:17Speaker 1: This was one of the weekend I was looking for
- 7:20Speaker 1: starting when they when they first announced it. It's all
- 7:23Speaker 1: over on my wall, all all my social media channels.
- 7:28Speaker 1: I try to give away tickets. I got some extra
- 7:31Speaker 1: tickets from the fans who were not able to go.
- 7:34Speaker 1: I still have some few leftovers for tonight. If someone
- 7:39Speaker 1: that you know, someone needs a ticket, come come to
- 7:42Speaker 1: me and then I'll help them out.
- 7:44Speaker 2: For the Giants to put this caliber of an event
- 7:47Speaker 2: on for free for their fans, what's that mean to you?
- 7:50Speaker 3: Just me?
- 7:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I mean fan Fast has always been free. Uh,
- 7:54Speaker 1: they never charged, but it has never been this big.
- 7:57Speaker 1: I mean they started doing fan Fast, I would say,
- 7:59Speaker 1: if I'm not wrong or what I know of fan
- 8:02Speaker 1: Fest has been maybe three four years now. But the
- 8:07Speaker 1: first fan Fest was actually a pretty successful one just because, uh,
- 8:11Speaker 1: they had a Giants practice, like the Giants offensive defensive
- 8:15Speaker 1: practice was on the field, so everyone actually saw the
- 8:19Speaker 1: first live practice. After that for two for a couple
- 8:22Speaker 1: of years, it actually got down. Yeah, it was more
- 8:26Speaker 1: like it was more like a like a fan show,
- 8:29Speaker 1: like you know, fireworks in there, a movie night last year,
- 8:33Speaker 1: you know that kind of thing. So but this year
- 8:35Speaker 1: they're actually not doing a practice either, but they're bringing
- 8:38Speaker 1: all the legendary players on the field, the giants, one
- 8:42Speaker 1: hundred of whoever's alive, whoever committed to come tonight they're
- 8:47Speaker 1: gonna do. You're gonna see a whole lot of players
- 8:49Speaker 1: out there, all the legends, all the legends, plus some
- 8:52Speaker 1: current players too that are that are in the building.
- 8:56Speaker 1: So it's gonna it's gonna be a very nice experience.
- 8:58Speaker 1: The first I believe this is the first time they're
- 9:00Speaker 1: doing a drawn show. I've never seen it because of
- 9:03Speaker 1: the I guess they have the regulations around Tboro Airport
- 9:07Speaker 1: and and a new work, so I guess this is
- 9:10Speaker 1: the first time they're doing a drone show now that
- 9:12Speaker 1: that I'm I'm looking most forward to because that will
- 9:16Speaker 1: that'll be a different experience. So that's why I'm taking
- 9:18Speaker 1: both of my kids to have them experience this. Fireworks.
- 9:23Speaker 1: We have seen it before, you know, last year at
- 9:26Speaker 1: the and also at the draft party. But but yeah,
- 9:30Speaker 1: drone show. Drone show is one of the best, I mean,
- 9:34Speaker 1: one o the things that I'm most looking forward to,
- 9:37Speaker 1: besides the panel discussions that they're going to do it
- 9:40Speaker 1: in the middle on the middle of the field, uh
- 9:43Speaker 1: and and the hundred one hundred players ceremony, A lot
- 9:47Speaker 1: of things tonight for.
- 9:48Speaker 2: You to be a Giant season ticket holder just meet.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Is that a legacy thing for you? Are you excited
- 9:54Speaker 2: to eventually one day maybe past these season tickets down
- 9:57Speaker 2: to your kids? Is this a legacy thing for you?
- 10:00Speaker 3: Oh?
- 10:00Speaker 1: Yeah, definitely, definitely. I mean that's why that's why I
- 10:02Speaker 1: got this stuff. I did not even waste like time
- 10:05Speaker 1: to like, you know, experience the like not being a
- 10:09Speaker 1: season ticket holder versus being a season too or as
- 10:11Speaker 1: soon as my sin came to me, I thought about it,
- 10:15Speaker 1: I was like, you know what, it could be a
- 10:16Speaker 1: great investment, you know, not money wise, because you know,
- 10:22Speaker 1: you know, giants like charge PSL, right, so PSL is
- 10:25Speaker 1: probably like an investment. Everyone thinks that as an investment,
- 10:27Speaker 1: But if your team is not doing good, you probably
- 10:30Speaker 1: not be able to if you ever need to sell it,
- 10:32Speaker 1: you will not be able to get the same money
- 10:34Speaker 1: you back. So I didn't even think of that way
- 10:37Speaker 1: because I know I'm actually if I'm buying it something
- 10:40Speaker 1: for me right now, since I'm a first generation fan,
- 10:43Speaker 1: I can definitely give this to my both sons and
- 10:47Speaker 1: then they could take it from there. And I've seen
- 10:50Speaker 1: that the people I talked to out at the tailgate
- 10:52Speaker 1: or people who sit next to me, there are generational fans,
- 10:56Speaker 1: and they tell me that their parents or their grandparents
- 10:59Speaker 1: have I understand I given these tickets to them. So
- 11:03Speaker 1: I mean, that's that's that's a big thing. That's I'm
- 11:05Speaker 1: I'm happy. I'm that I'm part of the such a
- 11:08Speaker 1: big organization. That's not that wasn't started like twenty thirty
- 11:12Speaker 1: years ago, but a hundred years ago, now, you know.
- 11:14Speaker 1: So so I've seen, like I've met people who have
- 11:18Speaker 1: been fans of starting from day one or their family is,
- 11:22Speaker 1: and now they're carrying that tradition.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Am I right in saying that you were in the
- 11:26Speaker 2: running to be Giants Fan of the Year?
- 11:29Speaker 1: So yeah, So it's pretty funny. Though I don't know,
- 11:32Speaker 1: I don't know if I was nominated or not. But
- 11:33Speaker 1: I mean Giants never made it official or they never
- 11:36Speaker 1: told like anybody, but I don't know if they can
- 11:39Speaker 1: do that. But when they announced that there's a Fan
- 11:42Speaker 1: of the Year competition going on, they put they put
- 11:45Speaker 1: one of my photo uh from the stadium on the
- 11:49Speaker 1: on the flyer and I was like, Okay, well that
- 11:52Speaker 1: that that's that's that's pretty sounds pretty amazing.
- 11:56Speaker 3: Uh.
- 11:56Speaker 1: And I took that opportunity and maybe like if I
- 12:00Speaker 1: reach out to my followers, I'm like, yeah, hey, I mean,
- 12:02Speaker 1: you know, Giants put me out there. Do you think
- 12:05Speaker 1: if I deserve it, vote for me? And and some
- 12:08Speaker 1: people did reach out, came back to me, and they
- 12:11Speaker 1: got excited. They were like, hey, definitely the kind of
- 12:13Speaker 1: work I do for helping out, going, going out of
- 12:18Speaker 1: the way and all that stuff, like I don't want
- 12:19Speaker 1: to say good things about me, like you know, like
- 12:21Speaker 1: but but yeah, but so people see it, I guess.
- 12:24Speaker 1: And they came to me, they asked me for the
- 12:26Speaker 1: more information and like you know, when they wanted to,
- 12:29Speaker 1: they wanted to vote for me. And that's where we are.
- 12:32Speaker 1: I don't know, I don't know what the VOD vote
- 12:34Speaker 1: count is and whatnot, but if I if, when it
- 12:36Speaker 1: will be, it will be because of each and every
- 12:41Speaker 1: Giants fan or or some other teams fan, my family
- 12:45Speaker 1: and friends who have voted for me. And I'm so
- 12:49Speaker 1: looking forward to that even if I don't win or
- 12:52Speaker 1: someone else, when it's still this is still big blue, uh,
- 12:56Speaker 1: I'm still going to be a Giants fan. I like know,
- 13:00Speaker 1: I'm I'm we will try harder next year. And if
- 13:04Speaker 1: you and I want to say that on your platform,
- 13:07Speaker 1: like if people who are listening, if you haven't vote,
- 13:11Speaker 1: and if you think I am the right candidate for it, uh,
- 13:15Speaker 1: then please go ahead and vote for me on NFL
- 13:18Speaker 1: dot com.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Actually, just mate, I'm gonna actually post this link in
- 13:23Speaker 2: the description below for se O and for people to
- 13:26Speaker 2: really vote for you here. So we're pulling for you
- 13:29Speaker 2: here at the one link up with Alex Garrett Sports Network. Now,
- 13:32Speaker 2: I understand that you also know license Plate Guy and
- 13:35Speaker 2: of course Nathan. You three are huge giant content creators.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Talk about your relationship with the Licenbilick. I have got
- 13:44Speaker 2: to know Joe Rubek.
- 13:47Speaker 1: I mean yeah, I mean me. I mean me and
- 13:49Speaker 1: Joe are very good friends. I mean Joe brought me
- 13:51Speaker 1: into when I started following the Giants very hard. I started.
- 13:58Speaker 1: He was the first guy I started for too. He's
- 14:01Speaker 1: been doing this for years. Uh, and he's doing a
- 14:04Speaker 1: heck of a job. I cannot be compared to him.
- 14:08Speaker 1: I don't want to be, because he's him, you know,
- 14:10Speaker 1: he he's at the another level. I mean, I mean,
- 14:15Speaker 1: if you think in the Giants fan base, he should
- 14:18Speaker 1: be Fan of the Year every year, you know, because
- 14:20Speaker 1: he's been doing tremendous job. Every year. He comes up
- 14:22Speaker 1: with like different things, different stuff, and like no one
- 14:27Speaker 1: can actually I don't. I don't think of like anyone
- 14:29Speaker 1: who can match him. I treat him as my big brother.
- 14:32Speaker 1: I mean, you know, I always call him like like
- 14:35Speaker 1: like that, you know, and and like there are still
- 14:39Speaker 1: things that that I learned from him, things to do,
- 14:43Speaker 1: things not to do. You know, he always here and
- 14:46Speaker 1: and he he thinks he treats me that way, and
- 14:49Speaker 1: he always comes at me and gives me good advices,
- 14:54Speaker 1: and I really respect that out of him. But yeah,
- 14:58Speaker 1: I mean overall, if you think both of us working together, yes,
- 15:03Speaker 1: we work together sometimes, like we know we're doing good
- 15:07Speaker 1: for the community, for the Giants community, even for my
- 15:11Speaker 1: for my sick community. I do. I do do some stuff,
- 15:16Speaker 1: and if I need some help, I always reach out
- 15:18Speaker 1: to Joe. Very nice guy. He's never he never says now,
- 15:24Speaker 1: whenever he can help, he he goes. He goes above
- 15:26Speaker 1: and beyond to help help any fan out. I know.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Joe is very invested in the Giants and the Giants
- 15:32Speaker 2: community through his charitable causes and those ways he does
- 15:37Speaker 2: help Giant fans get to these games and even the
- 15:40Speaker 2: training camp earlier in the summer. Speaking of training camp,
- 15:43Speaker 2: you were there and you were there at the preseason games.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Are the Giants ready to start their one hundredth season. Yes,
- 15:49Speaker 2: we lost Saikawon Barkley, but talk about where you think
- 15:52Speaker 2: the Giants will be and what Giant fans can expect
- 15:56Speaker 2: from what you've seen from training camp through the preseason,
- 15:59Speaker 2: as as well as the fact they unretired Ray Flaherty's
- 16:03Speaker 2: number for wide receiver Malik Neighbors, who will certainly make
- 16:07Speaker 2: a difference on this team.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Right, I mean we're talking about like losing a running
- 16:11Speaker 1: back and getting an electric wide receiver. I mean, they're
- 16:13Speaker 1: two different positions, right, There's definitely gonna be two different
- 16:17Speaker 1: play callings for both of those positions. Yes, I do
- 16:20Speaker 1: understand Daniel Jones have never got his wide receiver one,
- 16:24Speaker 1: so things gonna do look different. But losing Barkley is
- 16:30Speaker 1: also gonna hurt in some sort of the other because
- 16:34Speaker 1: he was he was actually a good like running back,
- 16:38Speaker 1: but his injuries and his loss of time on the
- 16:42Speaker 1: field has drifted him away. Plus the price point, you know,
- 16:48Speaker 1: drifted him away from from the Giants. It is what
- 16:52Speaker 1: it is, you know. But we didn't we couldn't find
- 16:56Speaker 1: the true replacement of him, But we did find a
- 16:58Speaker 1: good guy who can actually carry the ball, Devin Singletary.
- 17:03Speaker 2: Who's an NFL veteran by the way, right.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Yeah, and he has also worked with Dable in the past,
- 17:08Speaker 1: so in the Bill during his time in the Bills,
- 17:11Speaker 1: So so he knows, he knows them, he knows what
- 17:16Speaker 1: mindset Dable carries. Uh So, yeah, so it will be
- 17:20Speaker 1: it will be a good combination. And this is a
- 17:23Speaker 1: huge year for Daniel Jones, I mean, coming off of
- 17:25Speaker 1: the A cl injury, uh and being a playoff one
- 17:31Speaker 1: one playoff game winning quarterback a year before that. Twenty
- 17:35Speaker 1: twenty two was a huge year. That's because of That's
- 17:37Speaker 1: that's why he got that contract. So I'm so looking
- 17:41Speaker 1: forward to him. As long as he wears that Giants blue.
- 17:44Speaker 1: I will always support you know that that quarterback. People
- 17:51Speaker 1: do say bad things about him and whatnot. I mean literally,
- 17:57Speaker 1: from my point of view, he has never got like
- 18:01Speaker 1: he may not be a great quarterback, but he's good
- 18:04Speaker 1: enough to win some ball games, and that's what I
- 18:07Speaker 1: really want him to do with this year. He got
- 18:10Speaker 1: all the weapons he needed, he got all the protection
- 18:12Speaker 1: he wanted, he got the defensive side of the ball
- 18:17Speaker 1: is also very good, except the cornerback positions that we have.
- 18:22Speaker 1: So yeah, So I mean, I'm I'm so looking forward
- 18:24Speaker 1: to this we should have. I mean, like I said
- 18:28Speaker 1: to other people as well, if prediction goes then I'm
- 18:32Speaker 1: I'm I'm thinking, if all goes well, this team stays healthy,
- 18:36Speaker 1: everyone connects. I do see us winning at least eight
- 18:41Speaker 1: to nine games this year. I would definitely want a
- 18:44Speaker 1: nine win season because that will put us over five
- 18:48Speaker 1: hundred and that will be that will definitely be a
- 18:50Speaker 1: good sign coming what we were last year.
- 18:53Speaker 2: You know, does the rest of the NFC East look
- 18:56Speaker 2: a little shakier than the Giants right now? I mean,
- 18:58Speaker 2: is it possible toens are one of the more steady
- 19:01Speaker 2: teams in the division.
- 19:04Speaker 1: I mean you could say that way, but I mean
- 19:06Speaker 1: Eagles are Eagles were missing a good running back. I
- 19:10Speaker 1: mean it's not like Deander stiff Sif was a very good,
- 19:13Speaker 1: very good running back. He was a very good running back,
- 19:15Speaker 1: but I mean they were they needed that Barkley kind
- 19:19Speaker 1: of like spark, and they got it. They already they're
- 19:21Speaker 1: already very good in offensively, Yes, defensively they could be soft.
- 19:27Speaker 1: That will be a challenge that I already want to see. Uh, Cowboys,
- 19:33Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean they're they're they're known to
- 19:36Speaker 1: choke in the in the end, you know, in the playoffs,
- 19:39Speaker 1: you know, like that kind of I mean, they everyone
- 19:41Speaker 1: knows their history. Dak has been Dak. You know, he's
- 19:44Speaker 1: probably good in the regular season. But but I don't know,
- 19:49Speaker 1: like they have the talent around it. Same thing. They
- 19:52Speaker 1: have a talent around it. It just depends on how
- 19:54Speaker 1: they execute it. Washington is a new team. I called
- 19:59Speaker 1: him a new team right now, just because they have
- 20:01Speaker 1: a new manager, new owner, new even a new name
- 20:05Speaker 1: on their field and new quarterback, new everything. Right, So
- 20:12Speaker 1: they may be a surprise. You never know, because because
- 20:15Speaker 1: there's always that aura, right like the new team always
- 20:18Speaker 1: impresses you. Yeah, so that could be that could be it,
- 20:22Speaker 1: you know. But with the Giants, I mean, uh, there's
- 20:27Speaker 1: gonna be a tough competition, you know. Vikings, if we
- 20:30Speaker 1: if we open up home strong, that will put us
- 20:36Speaker 1: into a good start, not only a good start, but
- 20:39Speaker 1: going then going into Washington, who's a fairly a new
- 20:43Speaker 1: team and and I don't see myself coming out of
- 20:48Speaker 1: that game not winning and then you know, or starting
- 20:51Speaker 1: the season two and no after that is gonna be
- 20:54Speaker 1: our big questions with Cleveland, Who's who's a playoff caliber team?
- 20:58Speaker 1: And uh and then Dallas after that at home?
- 21:01Speaker 2: What do you think of the series Hard Knocks featuring
- 21:03Speaker 2: you know, Brian Dable and Joe Shane and the way
- 21:06Speaker 2: they've been operating the Giant team behind the scenes.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Really, it was a good reality It was a good
- 21:12Speaker 1: reality show. I'm sure they knew the cameras were on. Uh,
- 21:16Speaker 1: so they were there. They were there were a few
- 21:18Speaker 1: things that they couldn't show and all that stuff, But
- 21:21Speaker 1: but it actually did from a from a fan perspective
- 21:25Speaker 1: from us like we have never seen Giants behind the
- 21:28Speaker 1: scenes like that. Uh, there's there a lot of work.
- 21:31Speaker 1: I mean, I would I would give if I want
- 21:33Speaker 1: to see all those people who were part of the
- 21:36Speaker 1: scouting team. I would actually want to line them up
- 21:39Speaker 1: together and then give them up, like you know, honor,
- 21:41Speaker 1: like you know, because they did a heck of a job.
- 21:44Speaker 1: What What what I see from that hard knock is
- 21:49Speaker 1: their their effort to analyze each and every player. Uh,
- 21:55Speaker 1: to make all those trips across the country. It's not easy, man,
- 21:59Speaker 1: like with the family in the back, you know, like
- 22:01Speaker 1: and you're doing all that work in and out and
- 22:05Speaker 1: and making and try to make this team a better
- 22:08Speaker 1: competitive team. It was amazing, amazing done, amazingly done. I
- 22:14Speaker 1: wish they would have touched a little bit more on McKinney.
- 22:18Speaker 1: McKinney was like off the chart basically they never covered it.
- 22:21Speaker 1: I mean, like one segment they probably covered, like where Okay,
- 22:25Speaker 1: he's asking more money, like you know, if he has
- 22:27Speaker 1: he was getting somewhere else, Okay, go you know that
- 22:29Speaker 1: kind of thing. But other than that, I mean, it
- 22:33Speaker 1: was Barkley was like you know Barkley, we knew it
- 22:37Speaker 1: from day one, Like it's going to be more on
- 22:39Speaker 1: Barkley Barkley stuff. I'm surprised they did not touch anything
- 22:44Speaker 1: on Vink Martindale departure. I guess they probably want to
- 22:48Speaker 1: keep that behind the books, you know, they want to
- 22:51Speaker 1: to everyone. But overall the other thing that was very happy.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Nothing nothing different. I mean, you know, I see everything
- 23:01Speaker 1: like the reality of like of how the football team
- 23:06Speaker 1: is run, how Joe is Actually Joe showed how he
- 23:09Speaker 1: wants to run this football team.
- 23:11Speaker 2: Jazz meet as a season ticket older. Who have you
- 23:14Speaker 2: got to meet as far as Giants legends go?
- 23:17Speaker 1: So I've met call Banks, I mean during the training
- 23:22Speaker 1: camps have met I've met a lot of a lot
- 23:24Speaker 1: of people. Uh, call Banks. I've seen Phil Simms. H
- 23:31Speaker 1: if you talk about the legendary like you know, legendary players. Uh.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Eli Manning came to one of our tailgate when he
- 23:37Speaker 1: was when he was doing a tailgate segment a couple
- 23:40Speaker 1: of years back that I couldn't see him face to face,
- 23:43Speaker 1: but I was there, like you know, and I did.
- 23:45Speaker 1: I did see him like you know, like getting in
- 23:48Speaker 1: and out of the car. You know. That's That's about it.
- 23:51Speaker 1: But I've met Victa Cruz personally.
- 23:55Speaker 3: Uh.
- 23:55Speaker 1: David Tarry is a very good friend of mine. Like
- 23:59Speaker 1: we we we talk more and more often. The only
- 24:04Speaker 1: the only the other person I really want to meet
- 24:06Speaker 1: is l t alt lt is on my on my list.
- 24:11Speaker 1: Uh he's uh, I mean I really want to. I
- 24:15Speaker 1: really I've never seen him playing because I joined the
- 24:18Speaker 1: Giants League. But but I really want to, I really
- 24:20Speaker 1: want to see him. Alt is one of the best
- 24:22Speaker 1: players that Giants chance have ever got. You know. Uh,
- 24:26Speaker 1: he I've seen I've seen his videos. When I was
- 24:28Speaker 1: getting to know more about the Giants, LT was everywhere.
- 24:31Speaker 1: If if you search Giants best player of all time
- 24:35Speaker 1: or Giants best defensive player of all time, Healty always
- 24:37Speaker 1: comes up in the front. And Giants just proved it
- 24:40Speaker 1: too because the panel that they picked, the panel that
- 24:43Speaker 1: picked the Giants top one hundred players, ALTI is number
- 24:46Speaker 1: one without any doubt, you know. So yeah, so those
- 24:50Speaker 1: those are the few things. Uh. And LT what product
- 24:54Speaker 1: he brings on the field was outstanding. At that time.
- 24:57Speaker 1: He was simply unguardable. Uh. We Giants have not got
- 25:03Speaker 1: that kind of person. I mean maybe a glimpse of
- 25:05Speaker 1: that in Michael Strahan back in the days. Uh, but
- 25:09Speaker 1: that's about it. L T is l T. You know, Uh,
- 25:14Speaker 1: no one, no one was compared to him. So yeah,
- 25:17Speaker 1: so that's that that that what makes me one is
- 25:20Speaker 1: the one to meet him personally and thank him, you know,
- 25:23Speaker 1: or maybe have a picture and then I have his
- 25:26Speaker 1: I have his twenty five jersey that I really want
- 25:29Speaker 1: him to autograph.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Eli Manning is certainly someone I have on my bucket list.
- 25:33Speaker 2: To me, I would love to meet him at some point.
- 25:36Speaker 2: Speaking of Eli Manning and legendary the two Super Bowls
- 25:41Speaker 2: that he won and the Giants won. You know, just
- 25:43Speaker 2: as you were starting to get into the Giants fandom here,
- 25:47Speaker 2: what do those two super bowls mean to you?
- 25:49Speaker 1: Just me that that means a lot. I mean the
- 25:52Speaker 1: me as a new fan of that time, We're seeing
- 25:56Speaker 1: the team that I'm starting to love winning two super
- 25:59Speaker 1: Bowl Super super Bowls and within the span of four years.
- 26:04Speaker 1: I mean that that was a dream come true. I
- 26:06Speaker 1: mean some I mean I see some franchises haven't even
- 26:09Speaker 1: win won or have only won one and done, you know,
- 26:13Speaker 1: and winning and seeing them winning two in front of
- 26:18Speaker 1: my eyes, I mean like, that's that's a dream come true.
- 26:21Speaker 1: And peting Patriots, who's who were the one of the best,
- 26:25Speaker 1: who were the best team actually undefeatable. Uh In two
- 26:29Speaker 1: thousand and seven we ended their perfect season and twenty
- 26:34Speaker 1: eleven they were also very good and we ended them again.
- 26:39Speaker 1: It was it was just a dream come true. I mean,
- 26:41Speaker 1: any any true New York Giants fan would love to
- 26:44Speaker 1: see that.
- 26:46Speaker 3: Well, just main I'll tell you the story for me
- 26:48Speaker 3: is I got to know Tom Cofflin after that first
- 26:52Speaker 3: Giant Super Bowl even before that, and he and his
- 26:57Speaker 3: wife had us had a lot of games the way
- 26:59Speaker 3: Judy cop when had it had a lot of their
- 27:02Speaker 3: games over the years. So we have a connection that
- 27:04Speaker 3: OA team and that twenty eleven team. And you know,
- 27:08Speaker 3: I just I wear that Manning super Bowl jersey proudly.
- 27:13Speaker 3: Every time I put it on. I had to get it,
- 27:15Speaker 3: you know, it's just like, how can you not.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Still I still have that two thousand and seven Super
- 27:20Speaker 1: Bowl jersey of Manning. That was that's my first jersey
- 27:23Speaker 1: that actually got Remember I told you I'd never I
- 27:26Speaker 1: never had a jersey before, and that was that was
- 27:28Speaker 1: my first jersey that I bought from my pocket money
- 27:33Speaker 1: in two thousand and seven when Giants were going to
- 27:35Speaker 1: the Super Bowl and and and that that jersey. I
- 27:40Speaker 1: still have it. I don't wear it anymore because that's
- 27:42Speaker 1: it's been done, but but I still keep it because
- 27:46Speaker 1: that's that's that's my memory from Oh.
- 27:49Speaker 3: Yeah, that's that's that's right there, all right. And by
- 27:52Speaker 3: the way, real quick, as we're talking about this, did
- 27:55Speaker 3: you love how parallel the Super Bowls were because you
- 27:58Speaker 3: have the Tyree catch.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Catch in the second Super Bowl on the sideline. I'm like,
- 28:05Speaker 2: this drive is identical to the way they wanted.
- 28:08Speaker 1: Oh wait, I don't know if you.
- 28:09Speaker 3: Picked up on that comparison, but it's just amazing how
- 28:11Speaker 3: similar it looked.
- 28:13Speaker 1: They were exactly. You know, I did. I did when
- 28:15Speaker 1: I when I looked at it, like, you know, we
- 28:18Speaker 1: we the same amount of time we had. We had
- 28:21Speaker 1: two Super Bowls back to back in in eighties and
- 28:23Speaker 1: nineties and then uh and then the same thing in
- 28:26Speaker 1: twenty seven and eleven. We had the same amount of
- 28:29Speaker 1: time difference. Uh. And yeah, I mean that's that's that's
- 28:33Speaker 1: what that's what history. That's what this rich history of
- 28:36Speaker 1: this football team is, you know. And I'm so looking
- 28:40Speaker 1: forward hopefully this team goes in the right direction and
- 28:43Speaker 1: we get to see more Super Bowls and also my
- 28:46Speaker 1: kids are able to see their fort ever Super Bowl.
- 28:50Speaker 1: You know, their their their team playing in that.
- 28:53Speaker 2: Well, jas mate, thanks for your time today and hope
- 28:56Speaker 2: hope to see you at the stadium one of these
- 28:58Speaker 2: games this year. I know you'll be at every one
- 29:00Speaker 2: of them, right, and even the tailgates of them.
- 29:02Speaker 1: Yep, I will be I will be going uh every
- 29:05Speaker 1: single home game, planning to go to maybe one or
- 29:08Speaker 1: two away games. I'm still working on the Germany trip.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Uh so that will be my away game. The things
- 29:15Speaker 1: are not confirmed yet. If I go, I will be there.
- 29:19Speaker 1: That's why I don't want to announce it just yet.
- 29:23Speaker 1: But yeah, I will be there every single home game
- 29:26Speaker 1: for sure. If you are ever at the game, if
- 29:30Speaker 1: you want to do tailgate, come see me at U
- 29:33Speaker 1: in parking lot D three, David three.
- 29:36Speaker 2: Uh.
- 29:36Speaker 1: That's that's where i am most of the time, majority
- 29:40Speaker 1: of the time. If I'm not there, then I usually
- 29:43Speaker 1: tweeted out like you know what what other either if
- 29:45Speaker 1: I'm not at D three, then I'm definitely at J
- 29:48Speaker 1: ten after that or you know one of the weeks. Uh,
- 29:52Speaker 1: those are two of my good ones. That's where I
- 29:54Speaker 1: started my my tailgating experience from those two tailgates. Uh.
- 30:00Speaker 1: So that's what That's where I always go. But but
- 30:02Speaker 1: I'm always on the round. Other people invite me, and
- 30:05Speaker 1: then I always I I don't say no, you know,
- 30:08Speaker 1: for for for free sample foods and drinks right now,
- 30:12Speaker 1: So I always always go hang around, Uh say hi
- 30:16Speaker 1: to other fans take pictures with other fans because it's
- 30:20Speaker 1: all about Big Blue family. Uh and and the love
- 30:23Speaker 1: that we that we give to each other. I'll definitely
- 30:25Speaker 1: meet you in person one day. I'm so looking forward
- 30:28Speaker 1: to the season. Let's go Big Blue.
