We're doing great man. How are we doing? I heard you play a little golf this past week. Played a little golf. And? People would say it was a little golf. Yeah. But for me, it was a lot of golf. How did off well. Are we going to talk about it? Yeah. Okay. started off. The people want to know about your golf game. Listen, the first four holes, this is a monumental development for my golf game. Started off holes one through four, double bogey, par, birdie. So the three over? No. Ogie. Were you two over through four? Two over through four. Okay. That's the best four hole stretch I've ever had. You thought about going pro at that time. I was like, actually, you better watch out. Every golfer can relate to that feeling. And then? And then, you know, downhill from there. Then golf happened. Then golf happened. It's tough luck. It is tough luck. It's hard to, you know, that's why I have so much respect for not only like professionals, but even like casuals like you and Now my coworkers. Casual. Yes, casual. Well, let's give the people what they want. What was the final score of the round? And by people, I mean me, because you won't tell me. So I thought didn't tell you because I didn't know, because I don't know. So you just fell through the four holes and then it went down from there. We stopped keeping score. I shot 46 through eight, or through nine. 48 through nine, okay. 46 on the front nine. I don't know the last nine. The back nine. It's a tough scene. I played the bridges. was designed by Fred couples. He hates golfers apparently hates lefties. He hates everybody that swings a club. Fred couples open invite on the podcast. Go ahead and put that one out there. But, uh, know what? Listen, man, you're working at it. Well, summer's right around the corner. We're going to get some, uh, we'll get some, scrambles going. We're going to get you right. And, uh, we'll keep updating the people on the score. The potential is there. Okay. A couple of shots. It's just the longevity is the issue. Yeah. You just gotta be able to. The consistency. Play through all 18. Is the issue. It's not how you play in the first quarter. It's how you finish it. Agreed. Speaking of it. I like the segue. Let's get into birdies of the week. Speaking of somebody who has consistency, Mr. Tom Kim, Mr. Thomas Kim. Yes. Plays for the TGL team, Jupiter Lynx. What's TGL? TGL is the, is the tomorrow's. Golf League. Is it tomorrow's Golf League? It's the tomorrow's Golf League. I looked this up actually today. I thought it was the Golf League. think it's. No, no, no. It's TGL created by Tomorrow Sports. So yeah, it's probably is tomorrow's Golf League. It's kind of, it's the best of both worlds from like an inside, people who it, you indoors into a screen. Simulator League plus like outside. I don't know if you've probably watched it. don't know if Beers have watched it, but they hit, they don't actually hit off of. Uh, turf, have like sections, little sections of grass that they hit off of into a screen, huge screen. And the hood off of the grass, when they get into a bunker, they actually have like sections of sand that they'll hit off of. Like when they're not at a, a green side bunker, they'll have like sections of sand that they'll hit off of into the screen. Yeah. And then it's like anything within 50 yards, they have an actual green there that rotates and then they can adjust it. to whatever the green is that's showing and like if anyone's played any virtual golf, it's the most high tech version of this. I believe it was Rory and Tiger Woods that were like leading this. And now it's kind of like the new off season golf thing, kind of. It's on like Tuesdays and Wednesdays, I believe on ESPN. So it's really cool. ⁓ Sorry. Yeah. No, I love the TGL. ⁓ Just something throwing casually. I still get very lost on the rules of everything, but. As far as like professional golfers play simulator golf, it's kind of cool. There's a lot of little rules they have, yeah, like you were saying, there's one big green they have, ondulates ⁓ depending on each hole. So the green, the green moves, you know, the green actually moves up and down. Like there's some, you know, technology system below it that moves it by itself. And that's turf, obviously. But let's get back. Tom Kim, Tom Kim, each team is playing for like the last playoff spot. I deeper to links is got tiger. It's got Max homeless, got Kevin Kissner, obviously, uh, Tom Kim, they're playing against the Bay golf team, which is Ludovico bear, Shane Lowry, um, Wyndham Clark, and then manually. Um, they were on a whole 14. Uh, they were down one. And they have this thing in the TJL where it's called the hammer. ⁓ yeah, the hammer where it doubles can use it to double the points if they win the hole. And so Tom Kim steps up, 138 yard par three. He hits the shot, exquisite shot, right at the pen. It's probably maybe a yard or two past. Hits the grain, spins back into the cup, hole in one. They go up, right, was, I think they were They were down five to six. go up. you do, you're glossing over the hole in one. got to celebrate with Tiger Woods. He did. That's a, that's a cool moment. He did. I saw them, they hugged it out and it was. If I, if I had a hole in one in front of Tiger Woods, I don't know if I'd be allowed back at the TGL. We'd be getting. They'd have to get security in there. They'd to escort us out. They'd escort us out easily. It was fun to see him. Like even though it was, I know it's not like real, I guess, like it was. It was a simulator hole-in-one, but like... It's still a hole-in-one. Like these guys are professionals. Like if he hit this shot in real life on this hole, like it probably would have been the same result, I feel like. Yeah, they got like a thousand trackmans in there. Yeah, I mean it's probably the most accurate simulator you could ever have. The ball travels like 20 or 30 yards before it even hits the simulator screen. It's pretty... Yeah, it's a huge... If y'all haven't seen it, it's a huge screen. Yeah, it's a stadium. It's a stadium pretty much. Yeah. I think they said the screen's like five stories tall. It's ridiculous. it's obviously like the most accurate. It's not like just your local, know, simulators, you know, probably head into, right? It's not like, you know, golf ranch. It's not like going to the PJ super store or something. Right. Right. More accurate. ready hits the shot. This puts them in the, ⁓ this puts them above, ⁓ you know, the Bay. They ended up winning and this whole actually solidifies their spot. last playoff spot. Wow. So did not know. I didn't even know this was like for a play. I just thought it was like the regular season of it. I didn't know they were battling for a playoff spot. Right. that's cooler. Not only like, guess I don't, I'm not sure like what led them to using their hammer for the hole, like doubling their points, but apparently they knew something that everybody else didn't. They knew Tom Kim was, he, know, holes in one obviously wins the hole, right? Um, they ended up getting the last playoff spot. it's. I think the playoff started like March 20th or something, but shout out to them. Shout out to, uh, shout out to Tom Kim. Love Tom Kim. Yeah. So the playoff bracket is March 17th is the semi-final March 23rd is the. first finals, March 24th is the second finals and then March 20th, oh, March 24th again is if necessary would be the third finals. So just in time for basketball. Just in time for basketball. thought the whole playoff started 28th. Yep. And then it's good. It looks like it's going to be Jupiter links. We got to know with that last playoff spot taking on Boston common golf is in the first playoff matchup. And then it will be Atlanta versus LA for the other. It's very cool there. mean, especially getting to celebrate with Tiger Woods on a hole in one. And then like that's the one that secures the playoff spot. did see, there was some video recently, a couple of ago. It was like Tiger Woods, he had like chunked one or something at TGL. He was like Tiger Woods is human. No, no, He had hit like, he laid up because he heard the distance wrong. was like 215 yards and he thought he... It was 115 yards. So he hit the wrong club and people were clowning tiger about that. But there's something like that. Yeah. was, ⁓ it's never tiger's fault. Yeah. It was his team's fault. Honestly. Like what? So I gave the, the players are both the teams that I just listed. Which team do you think would be better for the, just in general? so Boston has Rory. No, I'm just saying the two teams I just listed, like which team do you think would actually? Oh, obviously, you know, Tiger's team won, but it's Tiger, it's Max Kim, it's Tom Kim, it's Max Homa, it's Kevin Kissner. Oh, I would think the Bayes better with Ludwig, Winnum, Min Woo Lee and Shane Lowry. Yeah. Now, if this is like Tiger, like in the 2000s? Obviously. Yeah. But I wondering when Scottie Shaffer is going to make his appearance in this. But maybe as like the world number one, like this isn't something that you're focused on right now. There was like a Dallas located team. Dallas-ish located team. think, you know, Scottie might be captain of that. Yeah, because there's six teams total right now. New York, Boston, Atlanta, LA. I don't know where Jupiter is based out of, but then the Bay. Florida. ⁓ is it Florida? Yeah. Okay. So Dallas team would be a great expansion team to add to the TGL, but they probably have to add one other one. Right. I don't know. as this, as the sport picks up, like it's a good off season golf thing going on right now. Obviously you're about to get into major seasons. So like that's really where people's focus are going to be. Like we got the masters coming up and then it gets into the, I think it's the PGA championship and then the US or the open in the US open. Yeah. I I might have those backwards. They know they flipped them around a couple of years ago. So that's where we're. people's most focuses, but I like the TGL. It's, wait, first expansion team did get announced. It's Detroit. So I just looked at their website. So Detroit and Dallas, there we go. Now you can have two come in. need one other one. of a team that has playoff aspirations. Ooh, the segues are amazing to me. He's locked in. That's what I'm paid for. He's locked in. Ami of Ohio men's basketball team. People who aren't locked in won't know they are 30 and ⁓ and for, men's basketball for college, mean, honestly, for any team at any level, that's insane. But the knack on them is the competition that they're facing is not the greatest, but you can only play against the people that you're scheduled against and they've beat every single team they've faced so far. they're 30 and ⁓ they're all the only undefeated team in college basketball. And there's only four teams ever to start 30 and now. better. So, you know, one of those teams is the 2014 to 2015 Kentucky Wildcats. They went 38 now. And that was. Carol Anthony town and Devin Bucker's team. Which they also had seven other players on that team make the NBA. They didn't end up, you know, being as good as, know, Kat and booked, but. They made the NBA at some point or another. that Kentucky team, have it, they made it to the final four. Yeah. So yeah. Insane team. Second team was 2013 to 2014, Wichita State 35 and O. They had infamous undrafted goat, Fred Van Fleet, and they also had two other players who made the NBA. But you know, didn't list them because I didn't see anybody. They made it to the round of 32. Yeah. I mean, it's, Fred Benvleet, you know, one of the, probably the best undrafted player ever to make the NBA. Um, shout out to him. Shout out to Wichita State. And then shout out to 2020 to 2021 Gonzaga. The most recent team 31 and 0. They had Drew Timmy, Corey Kispert. Well, know, Drew Timmy is Timmy Tom. I'm not sure if he has made a NBA roster to date. Maybe he has, but Corey Kispert definitely has. Jalen Suggs obviously is on a roster right now. So is Corey Gisbert. Andrew Nimhard. Shout out Andrew Nimhard. Shout out also his brother Ryan Nimhard. Mavericks legend currently. Julian Strother currently on the Nuggets. Then they had two other guys that made the league as well, but lesser-known guys. that Gonzaga team lost in the title game. Didn't they win the title though? They did the next year I believe. Okay, but yeah, that might be the best out of those. I would say the most, obviously is the most... With a, now it's all about where, where's Miami, Ohio going to end up. have the most current NBA players, but that Kentucky team was, had in book. That's a crazy team. Um, getting into the bracketology of it all. Joe Linaugherty has them listed as an 11 seed currently. Oh, looks like they could move up. Looks like they could move down a little bit. see. And if, if y'all are active on Twitter, you've seen the discourse of them being compared. to the Auburn, the current Auburn team. There's like if that Auburn team should get in or they should get in, which is like insane, you know, there's how many teams get in? 64. Well, technically 68 because you have the first four in or first. Yeah. First four in where they play like an in, in a play in tournament. It's 64 teams make, make the tournament. If you're not going to let a team that is, I mean, the third one right now. But they have 30 wins. say they lose the rest of the games, whatever. A 30 win team, if you're not going let them in, uh, we need to probably rethink our standards, I guess. It's kind of like, uh, you know, like the 12 team playoff or frenzy, but until NCAA football, right? Like Jamie, made it. gotta put. Yeah. But I will say they do have a. When this podcast is released, they're playing their final game of the season tonight on Friday, 8 p.m. They're taking on Ohio. So rivalry game. And they did beat them the first time, 90 to 74 earlier in the seasons. We'll see what happens there. I think Miami, Ohio, I've seen the discourse between them and Auburn. I think that they should get in. People were saying like they wouldn't even be the, like, were Auburn's ranked in the SEC, they wouldn't even be that high. 30 and O's 30 and O, let them in. If Auburn's that good, they'll go and run the SEC tournament and get in. I'm not sure why, like, why is Auburn even their top? Yeah. I mean, if you win your, if you win your, if you win your conference, you get in. That's why people say that this is the most fair tournament in all of sports. Everyone has a shot to get in. You just have to win. And if you're on the bubble, you probably were on the bubble for a reason. Miami, Ohio, think, I don't know, they're in the Mac. They have a good chance of winning their tournament. But even if they didn't, I'd say that you still gotta put them in. I think as an 11 seed, they should be locked in. mean, they got the most wins in college basketball. I think the Mac does it this way. Have you seen the smaller conferences? They're doing their tournament now where teams will get like quadruple buys, like the one seeds. And so they'll have to win one game to make it to the championship game versus like the team that's in last place. They have to pretty much run the gauntlet. They have to, you know, they'll play the other team that's in the... I don't know, ninth seed with them or whatever. And then you play the sixth seed, the fifth seed, fourth seed, third seed, and you play all the way up to the championship. I kind of liked that conference set up that they're doing. I don't know if the Mac's doing it. I know there's some other conferences doing it, but I was like, this is something that all of them should do. I know the big 12 this year, they're doing the first time. think it's a double buys for like the top four teams or the top two teams, something like that. just something, it makes the regular season actually mean something. I mean, if the regular season means something, then maybe Ohio has to get in. Yeah. No, think third, you know, and like you said, there's only been another three other teams that have done it. So they're the fourth and all those other teams, they were in the tournament. So you have to, you have to invite them. If they end up getting smoked in the first round, they get smoked in the first round, but 64 teams, they are definitely one of the best 64 teams in the country. And these three other teams have had respectable NBA players. So who's to say that this team doesn't have that quality of talent. I'd have to, you know what? We're going to find out in the tournament if they're all about that action. We will. I just can't wait. Then they go and upset my Red Raiders or something. That's going to be something that happens. I'm going be like, Miami, Ohio should have never got in. I don't know if that would be an upset at this point, but. We'll to see. I mean, they're playing tonight, everyone listen to the podcast. You'll know how they're doing. We can get into my Brody's of the Week. If that's it, if we're done in Miami, right? Yeah. Okay. My Brody's of the Week, starting off with... This happened this past Sunday. Tyler Reddick, might be like, who's Tyler Reddick? NASCAR driver, he won the Duramax Texas Grand Prix down in Austin. He becomes now the first driver in NASCAR history, I'll say it again, becomes the first driver in NASCAR history to win the opening three races of a season. He won the Daytona 500, which was the season opener. He won the next week in Atlanta, and then now he's won the Texas Grand Prix, which I said was in Austin. Might think, ⁓ well that's, you know, that's cool for Tyler Reddick. Crazy coincidence here. He races for Michael Jordan's 23 racing team. ⁓ Some would say three Pete runs in the blood. Tyler Reddick, when he was asked about it, said, it's just one race, but it was so important and it's so unfitting to, it's so fitting to get three in a row and make history. Michael Jordan was then asked, he said, I just put up the money. Denny Hamlin has done an incredible job building this team. So Denny Hamlin is kind of the mastermind behind. the racing team for Michael Jordan. And, uh, the next race is actually happening this weekend, Sunday, uh, March 8th at Phoenix Raceway. So we'll get to see if Tyler Reddick can become now the first driver to win the first four races of the opening season. Incredible stuff. will say if, if I'm, uh, what the f**k word am I thinking of, dude? If you're a betting man? If I'm, you got to today. don't know what you're trying to say. If I'm not. corroborated if I'm like corroborated if I'm corroborated if I'm if I have some connection with Michael Jordan, what's a word for that? I have a relationship to Michael Jordan. If I have some like if Michael Jordan is my boss slash sponsor, I don't want to like disappoint him. Right? Known winner known like goat Michael Jordan. I'm going to put my best out there. Regardless of admiration if I'm playing basketball with a, whatever it is, if he's sponsoring my team, you know, I'm going to put my best out there. So I would be scared to lose. Right. He's a known winner. I don't want to lose in front of, you know, Michael Jordan, right. Cause he's, you know, he's at those games. don't want to lose. It's funny. You mentioned that, uh, Tyler Reddick did create the iconic Michael Jordan photo. I'll include it in the podcast where he's holding up the three. Uh, so maybe he's got to get it. He's going to get his fourth. Um, But it is interesting because a lot of people say NASCAR, you know, how hard is it? You're just making a left turn and then going straight. The Texas Grand Prix is actually, that was on the F1 track out there in Austin. So it was a lot more of a skilled driving going on. There's another guy, Van Gisbergen, who races for NASCAR. I can't remember what number it is, but he's like the, he's come over and he's like the big, like everyone's like, oh, if there's a, if there's a, if there's a road course going on, he's the favorite to win. Tyler Reddick actually was able to hold him off and win this race. I mean, it's pretty impressive to actually go win three in a row, but then win three in a row and they're all different kind of tracks. Everyone knows Daytona 500. Atlanta's a little smaller than that. It's a little different track. And then Texas, the Texas Grand Prix is just like a, that's like an F1 track. So it's all over the place. You got left and right turns. Shout out Tyler Reddick. Absolutely do win historic stuff there and become the first driver to ever win the opening three. Maybe he'll just sweep the whole season. And we'll see what happens there. think it's super fun watching, you know, other sports, like other incredible athletes of other sports investing in other sports. Right? Like it's not just Michael Jordan investing in a basketball team. It's investing in a team you would never think of him investing in. Yeah. Well, I know whenever he won Daytona, when Tyler Reddick won Daytona, Michael Jordan was like, this is better than winning any of my finals trophies. Uh, and so I can only imagine winning three in a row of the NASCAR. He's probably like, this is the, know, maybe he's more of a NASCAR guy than basketball guy right now. So it doesn't have two, two triple peets. Yeah. Two, peets. So there's gonna be another one coming this season. It's one of his three page. Yeah. Speaking of streaks, I got the segues now. I have the segues now. Let's hear it. The Dallas stars have now won 10 games straight. Their last loss came on January 22nd. So look at the calendar. They were undefeated through the whole month of February. Me and Matt went to the New Year's Eve game. I guess it was technically 2025 and they got, they lost four to one and a little upset about that one still against Buffalo. But it turns out Matt, we might've just been the bad luck charm because ever since we've not been keeping up with them, they've been winning. I've never gone to a game again, actually. And no one is more upset about this streak than the St. Louis Blues, who the Stars have beaten three times in this 10 game span. So three of those came at the hands of those guys. And their next game is a home game, actually tonight as well, the podcast, so you're watching Miami, Ohio. Well, first you can watch the Dallas Stars take on the Colorado Avalanche, March 6th. And the Stars are currently, even though they've been on a 10 game winning streak, they're still in second place. in the central division behind the Avs. So it's a tough, tough matchup for Can they make it 11? And this is also the 10 games. It's 10 game win streak is the longest streak of wins in Starz history. So we just become a hockey podcast. out to Starz. We're just a hockey. We did the U.S. Olympics last week and now we got the Starz winning. I'm guessing the, because they didn't, did they not play any games during the In the Olympics? They came back and after the Olympics, was like a short turnaround. Yeah. turnaround and they started playing like immediately. I'm about to say you can't just send like the backups in there. We had Miro who's, I think was playing for Finland. With a lot of, yeah. Got a lot of players that aren't American. But another Dallas Stars little tidbit, made a trade today. Ooh. hours ago. They're making trades even though they've won 10 in row? Yeah, they're not done. They're not satisfied. Didn't sound like anything was wrong with the team. They're making trades. Not satisfied. I did see Tyler Sagan is like out for the season though, unfortunately. Dallas Stars did make a trade with the Vancouver Canucks. Yep, the Canucks. They acquired Tyler Myers and they gave away a 2027 second round pick and a 2029 fourth round pick. I don't know if that's good or not. I'm gonna to, I'm gonna have to confer with my hockey guy and ask him about that trade. We'll have an update next podcast. We will, but couldn't be bad. at you staying up today on hockey, man. They call me the Adam Schefter of the hockey world. I did ⁓ recently, actually this past weekend, there was a new season of Shorzy out. If anyone hasn't seen Shorzy over on Hulu, basically like a hockey, it's part of a letter Kenny. It's a spinoff of that. I love it, man. There's like six episodes of the new season. I finished them all in like a day and a half and it just got me excited about hockey again. I, it's so good. The season is all about them taking on the Euros. So, and defending the American Canadian hockey culture going on. So it's always funny. If anyone's watching it, shout out Shorzy. Also, it's kind of funny that the stars were undefeated in February. Another team that was on the opposite end of the spectrum, the Chicago Bulls, the NBA, didn't win a, they didn't win a single game in February. Unlucky. I did see that. And then didn't they just win? Was it March? Yeah, I think Josh Giddy had a triple double. There's a little basketball talk. ⁓ One more shout out before we get into the rest of the show. This was an honorary Brody of the week of me. My softball team, played in tournament this past weekend. We lost our first game and then proceeded to run through the losers bracket. Went seven and ⁓ in the losers bracket and came back and won the championship. Shout out to the boys, 12 hours of softball. Uh, was an absolute battle. Uh, I am so sore from the weekend. Uh, but I just, I'll include a team photo and, also I got this sick little ring from it. I don't know if the camera will pick it up. There we go. But, uh, yeah, the team named me MVP. Uh, so I had the honor of that and a shout out to the boys. Absolute battle. And, uh, we're in softball season now. hit up MJ, bro. He might sponsor y'all's team too. Yeah, dude, have we got MJ to sponsor? I put the Jumpman logo on there. MJ, come talk to Jordan equipment, dude. There's Jordan gloves. Ooh, getting into the baseball world. We'll see. I think our next tournament, I don't know when it's actually, it's going to be like at the end of March. So I'll have an update for everyone there. It's not like he hasn't been in the baseball world before. Yeah, we might, we might just go ahead and three-peat. I've already tied last year. We only won one tournament and now beginning of this year, second tournament we won. So. I've already tied that, so looking to add onto it this season. That was just an honorary shout out to all the boys that listening. I told them I'd shout out the team, so shout out these fools. That's the team name. Shout out these fools. Shout out these fools. All right, with that, we'll come back and do some, I think we'll do some NFL. There's been some league stuff going on, draft stuff going on. We'll come back, do that, and the rest of show. We're back to do some NFL headlines and news going around the league. And we are in March now, so it is officially, well. I guess it's not the start of the new NFL year yet. I think that's like March 13th, officially when that happens. I shouldn't know that off the top of my head, but I know we're close to the new league year starting. And I guess we'll start off here with some news that was happening last week. I think when we released a podcast, Brendan Aubrey has told the Cowboys to go F off and he wants more money. I think they offered him, what was it? Eight mil. Apparently they came back and he came back and said, not enough. You know who I am? Who do you think you are? am. But then apparently that came out that that wasn't true, that he hasn't been in talks with them. So I don't know what's going on there. Hopefully Cowboys get him signed. But they did restructure some contracts with DAC and CD. I think they're working on CD. ⁓ But hopefully they're freeing up some money to get Aubrey and some more talent in the door. That wasn't true? Well, apparently it came out from Aubrey and his wife saying that that never happened. So the agent might have been agent might have been playing some games which that's what we're gonna We're trying to figure out what the noise is on everything But I don't know pay him 10 mil if that's what he wants to apparently Aubrey I guess it was the agent that said he wanted 10 maybe that's what it was 10 milli Yeah, highest pay kicker of all time, but deserves it obviously, but we'll see what they do also other Cowboys news as we're recording this on the fourth It is George Pickens birthday. Happy birthday, George Got to have you around franchise tag them. There we go. out franchise tag. out franchise tag. Speaking of another receiver. Quite a lot. Speaking of another receiver, Matt, go ahead. Speaking of another receiver, this might've been maybe coming maybe, you know, out of the blue for some people, guess. Stephon Diggs released from the New England Patriots. There's been a lot of off the, off the field stuff with him dating back to last year. But he's obviously on the team. They're making the run with them. They're making the Super Bowl push with them. I guess they're or don't want that kind of stuff in the locker room or in their team culture, whatever. Got a lot of Got a lot of baggage. Got a lot of baggage to him. He's released officially from the New England Patriots or will be. the new league year. Start the new league year like you were saying. he will probably be on their team. How things go. Go back to Buffalo maybe. He might. I did see that on Twitter. Maybe he might go back. There's going to be a lot of interest for him. Even though there's some questionable stuff going on with him. he's that good That all worked out. He's that good of a player. So we'll see. Starting off with a... Well, should we go to the other releases that have happened? Or do we want to go to that trade? I'm sick with the releases, I guess. Alright, let's go with the releases. Who's getting released? It's been more than these guys, I think. But, well, I'll start with this. One you don't have written down is... It's not a release, but it's a retirement. Uh, drew Dolman center of the Chicago bears. think he just made a pro bowl this year. Just got signed to a new trunk, new contract as well. Recently. Um, this is kind of, this is actually out of the blue. Nobody really expected this pulled an Andrew luck through Dolman center of the Chicago bears retired. That leaves a huge hole for them. Obviously probable guy this year. So tough scene for them when they're trying to You know, want to get an offensive line to protect their... Was it like a medical retirement or is he just like, I'm not in love with the game anymore? There's no specifics really. He just came out and said that he's... He just Andrew Lucked him. I mean, yeah, different scenario. You can kind of tell that Andrew Luck was tired of getting the shit beat out of him. But Drew Dahlman, know, Bears are looking up, whole team's looking up, you know? And he loses their center. Yeah. It's to be place. We probably had a good chemistry with Caleb Williams. It's going to be tough one there. Speaking of releases, Kyler Murray, the Arizona Cardinals have announced and told him that at start of the new year, they expect to release him and that will save up some cap room going on. have the exact cap. don't, but there is Arizona has expressed interest in signing Jimmy Garoppolo. So go from Kyler Murray to Jimmy Garoppolo. Interesting there. There is odds on what team Kyler Murray is going to land on next. some people, you know what? I don't like the discourse. People calling him a bust. It's not like the Cardinals have given him much help with everything going on and he's been battling some injuries. wouldn't say he's a bust. He's still a good quarterback. It just depends on where he's going to land. I'll be a Kyler Murray defender here. Like you said, not a bust. I know he was a first overall pick. lot of injuries when he's been on, know, as our own Cardinals his whole career. They have not done their best to surround him with the pieces that he needs. Yeah. Um, it's kind of like a Cleveland Brown situation. It's just not a good overall team around him. Right. Even the Cleveland Browns have a great defense. Cardinals do not, right? Browns have a good offensive line. Cardinals do not. Yeah. There was some promise with him and Cliff back in the day, but now, you know, Cliff being no longer there. It seems like the Cardinals are just kind of like. blowing up the team. Well, I guess they're not blowing up the team because they still have like a Trey McBride. They still have Marvin Harrison Jr. They still have some talent on the team. They just need to find, I guess, a new quarterback. It's just interesting. I think it was more of a they're saving money by letting Kyler Murray walk. ⁓ But there are the odds for the new teams that he's possibly going to. So the Jets are leading the way at plus 100. And then it's the Vikings at plus 190. Miami Dolphins at plus 300, which I wouldn't hate the Dolphins. ⁓ especially depending on what's going on with their Tua. ⁓ the Falcons at plus four 50. So he could be coming to the NSC South mat and you could have to play them twice. Would not like want to see that. ⁓ Cleveland Brown's funny. You mentioned are at plus four 50 tied with the Falcons. ⁓ the Colts are in there, but I don't think the Colts, they just put a transition tag on Daniel Jones. I think they're ⁓ Steelers, Panthers, and the Cardinals are on there at plus 3500. So I don't think that's. That's crazy. They're going to release them. They haven't officially released them. And then the Las Vegas Raiders are also there plus 3,500, but they're going to their quarterback. We knew who their quarterback was. Wigis might be a conversation for a couple minutes down the road. Could see a decision there soon, but yeah, I don't know. think Kyler Murray next year, he will have a job in the NFL, a starting job in the NFL. I think he's that good of a quarterback to continue. Just depends on where he kind of lands. I mean, the Jets. Or the Jets, so don't know if you want to go there, but like the Dolphins, I could see some prom. I guess they just got rid of Tyra Hill. So that's kind of a team that's been blown up. Jets. They got a very good young O-line, good young Ryder shaving core. High draft pick. Got a good young defense. Yeah. They do have the second pick in draft, but like you said, yeah, he's, he will have a job. Murray will have a job this next season. I don't, do you think, do you think Kyler Murray will be a starter or a backup next season? Starter. Starter. Yeah. I assume he's a starter. The only reason I wouldn't is he went somewhere like out of these teams listed. I don't know. I think if he went to the Vikings, he could beat out J.J. McCarthy. Falcons have Pinnix and is Kirk Cousins still there? I he's still there. I think they're releasing him with the... Might be releasing him as well. Starting the new year. Dolphins, I think he could beat out Tua. Yeah, I don't think Tua's going to be there. Yeah. So then it'd be him versus Quinn. Quinn Ewers. he can beat out Quinn Ewers. I know, Texas legend Quinn Ewers. Yeah, it's, you know. But if he went to the Jets, yeah, he could beat out, Tyrone Taylor is their quarterback right now. So. Right. It's just what the team wants in the future. The future wise. Like do the Jets want to draft a quarterback? Do they want to just tank out of the year and stuff? I think he could help a team right now. He would make it, whatever team he went to will be better. He's going to go to a lesser team. I guess, I don't know if they're kind of a lesser team, but he will make whatever team he goes to, they will be better. He's good. Yeah. And then I had his stats from with, uh, with the Cardinals. Oh, here we go. So Kyler Murray as a Cardinal was first overall pick 2019 rookie of the year, two time pro bowler, 121 passing touchdowns, 20,000 passing yards, 32 rushing touchdowns and 3,100 rushing yards. He's one of three quarterbacks with those passing and rushing numbers since he was drafted. Yeah. Kyler Murray. This will be good. I guess he's coming up on year seven, seven or eight. It's all about situation really at this point. Yeah, where he ends up. What's crazy is like the 2019 quarterback draft class. So we have Kyler Murray, who's now looking for a new team. Daniel Jones, who is in a transition tag with the Colts. Drew Locke, the Super Bowl champion that came out of this class. Jared Stidham had a random playoff appearance in the conference championship. Gardner Menchew has become a veteran backup in the league and Ryan Finley, who I, you know, had to look this up, pro pickleball player now. So 2019 was not the year of, of quarterbacks being drafted other than Kyler Murray and Drew Locks who are both champions. Tough, tough scene there, but then let's get into the trade that happened today, Matt. Yeah, Trenton Duffy goes, guess halfway across the country. From the Kansas city chiefs. to the Los Angeles Rams. And that is for the 29th overall pick. Like the Rams are sending the 29th overall pick, which is their own pick this year. A fifth and a sixth this year and a 2027 third for Trent Mcduffey. Which I guess, you know, unless you're really adept in NFL knowledge and the players, you're not really going to know too much about Trent Mcduffey, but. Washington's standout cornerback, former All-Pro. He's exceptional. And I guess this means that the Rams are going all in because Matthew Stafford did say he's coming back for another season, at least one more season. so this will help solidify that defense, was an issue. Obviously they, know the Rams can put up points, but they can also give up a lot of points. So this will help them hopefully not give up as many points as they have. Do you think that this was an overpay in picks? Um, like in the general scheme of things, like maybe. I mean, what were those and sixth rounds going to really produce you? But the first and the third are interesting to me. Yeah. You know, it's 2027 is next year, right? But you know, Trik McDuffie, I'm going to look up his age. already know he's young. 22, no 25. Sorry. He was drafted in 2022. He's 25, all pro. Obviously I'll prop corner now, especially considering that the Rams still have the 13th overall pick in this draft via the Atlanta Falcons. No, not an overpay. Absolutely, absolutely not an overpay for them. And we do know the Rams ⁓ have a past of giving up picks. F them picks, they don't care. They want to win now and that's been proven. By trading for, you know, an older Matthew Stafford, but still good, but trading a younger quarterback for an older quarterback, they were able to win. still playing at that level. So they're now investing into that. Obviously they're not investing for the future trading with picks, but that's not going to matter because he's still Matthew Stafford still playing at it. Obviously an MVP level, right? He's just one MVP. So I think this trade is a win-win for both. like on it, I'm one those. I'm one of those guys that I like the picks and the chiefs. What they got, when they got Trey McDuffie, that was part of the, I believe the Tyreek Hill trade with the Dolphins. They had like four picks out of that as well. And they turned that into four really solid defensive players. And then they turn around, they take one of those defensive players and they turn into four more picks. It's almost like they are very good about, you know, not Trem in the fat, cause Trey McDuffie, very good quarterback, very good defensive player for them. But now it's almost like they can take those four picks and they can load back up with Patrick Mahomes. And, uh, Trent McDuffie, no surprise. He was drafted in 2022. So he was kind of coming up in a contract year. I believe they hadn't signed anything yet. Um, so this was someone that they were probably going to have to, you know, either pay or get off their team anyways. And now they get to turn that into four picks and possibly build more of a future with Patrick Mahomes. People have talked about is Travis Kelsey coming back? Well, now you got four picks to go in and find tight end. So I think that. This works out for both teams. Like you said, Rams are more of that win now. They've always been a team that's like, they don't need the picks. They don't want the picks. They'd rather just get the players that are solid now. Yeah. F them picks. The famous quote. ⁓ so I think this is something that's going to help both teams. ⁓ I think they may have just, if I, if I'm getting to the nitty gritty, they may have just done, and I would have done three of these picks instead of four, but I can see why you do four. They don't need them anyways. The Chiefs obviously are not. in a win now situation, at least this next year. Who knows when the Hums is going to come back, fully healthy. Yeah. They still have the- a mini rebuild. Exactly, right? They have the ninth overall pick this draft, and now they have the 29th overall pick, and actually a fifth and six. But, you know, they kind of loaded up for this year, you know, maybe come back, you know, next year. And the Chiefs always do a very solid job of drafting. Like I said, they took those four picks from Tyra Kill and turned those into four solid ⁓ secondary picks. I believe they were all in the secondary. There might've been a linebacker in there. I don't remember exactly who it was, but they've always been a good job. They found Patrick Mahomes in the draft. They found Travis Kelsey in the draft. Like these guys, they hit. And now could be looking at adding Jeremiah Love to that backfield. The ninth overall pick if he gets to him. Let's pump the brakes. Oh, you're gnawing at the bits to get into draft talk. The Saints are still at number eight. One pick out of them. Yeah. You think the Saints are gonna... With Alvin Camaro? Washed up Alvin Camaro? Oh, that's crazy. staying on the Chiefs. The Chiefs are releasing offensive tackle, Jawan Taylor. So they're going to save 20 million in cap space. The Chiefs are making moves. That's not a surprise. I think he was also the most penalized player. That's what I was going to say. He's a walking, holding, fall start. So they're going to be looking, maybe one of those picks goes towards getting another offensive tackle. Someone, you know, that can not hold, hurt him as much. That'd be ideal. Yeah. Then with some trades here, we have David Montgomery is being traded to the Houston Texans running back for, was Detroit now running back for the Houston Texans for a fourth round, a seventh round and an offensive lineman, Juiced Scruggs. Don't know much about juice scrugs, but I feel like this is fair value for both teams on this. Ty's get to add a solid running back. And honestly, if you're a fantasy football guy, now you can draft David Montgomery. Now it's like, I mean, you drafted him before, but now he has a clear shot of being an actual number one running back in the league. And it's going to be him and what he marks there in the backfield for Houston. But, um, and then if you're a Jameer Gibbs guy, he's now in the backfield by himself in Detroit. So for fantasy football wise, uh, both these running backs, I think just got Yeah, Jameer Gibbs did post a picture on Twitter shortly after his trade was announced. know, the Sonic and Knuckles thing they got going on, the speed and the hard hitter and Knuckles, right? It was just a sad picture. It was Sonic and Knuckles like facing away from each other, you know, sad. you know, he's getting his running mate is, you know, getting traded. It's kind of reminds me of a album, Kamara and Mark Ingram, right? Like Jameer Gibbs. came into the league and he had David Montgomery, somebody that he could learn from. was, know, Sharon Carey's with, you they could feed off each other. Same way with Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram, you know, Sharon Carey's feeding off of each other's energy and stuff like that. And I think that did affect Alvin Kamara in the long run. don't, you he hasn't really been as good since Mark Ingram left. know he did come back. Do this affects Jameer Gibbs the same? Do you think Jameer Gibbs is going to start losing the step? I think he's to gain a step. Yeah, I think he's better than Adam Kamara. On a good point, bring up Sonic and Knuckles. So in their time together, 43 games, 73 total touchdowns, sets an NFL record as a duo by each scoring a touchdown in 15 games. Yeah, that's very good. I don't know if that's... Well, to be fair, like David Montgomery, he's very good. Yeah, and him and Woody Marks could be that same Sonic and Knuckles kind of hit there. Obviously, Woody Mark's not going to be same speedster that Jameer Gibbs is, but could still be a good one-two punch. And obviously, Texans need it because the quarterback game didn't really show up at the playoffs for them with CJ Stroud. But now that offense is looking pretty scary. I will say they do need an O-line, Texans do, even though they just traded an O-lineman, but he is not that good. No disrespect, but they were okay with trading him. And talking about juice, skugs. I'm talking about juice. Yeah, we'll see. I'm sure. I'm sure he'll prove us all wrong next year. Hopefully. But I believe that's all the NFL trade and releases news that we found. There might be more if there is something that we're missing. Let us in the comments. We're happy to talk about it. But one more little thing. Yeah. See, I was not using their decided to officially not tag Walker, former shoe below maybe Kenneth Walker. Yeah, so I think that was something we talked about last episode, but they've officially announced it. Officially, they're not using it. So could be, you know, a deal getting done behind the scenes now, or they could just be say that we're content. just want a Super Bowl. You know, let's see if we can get somebody in the draft or free agency. Maybe, I don't know, but it's a big piece of leaving. he does leave. Yeah. Superbowl MVP, hard soul that team. All right. Getting into NFL draft talk. Matt, I'll let you kind of run away with it. I will. ⁓ didn't get to watch too much of the draft other than the couple highlights I saw or not the draft. Sorry. The combine. Combine. I will say probably did see all these guys. ⁓ and the highlights, ⁓ you know, I'm, I'm big on, you know, the combine and the draft. I love watching it. I know a lot of people don't, they don't really care. They just want to see the draft. whoever their team gets, you know, they're fine with it, but I love seeing guys, you know, guys come out there and they, they want to perform at their best. They want to show off and you know, there are a guys who really stood out. I'm one of those being Dylan Theanamon safety out of Oregon, measured in at six foot, 201 pounds, ran a four, three, five, 40 yard dash, which was at the combine fourth fastest, ⁓ for safeties, ⁓ jumped in at a 42-inch vert which is highest for the safety's had a ten and a half inch flip-rod jump And then measured in at a lot of people won't know what this is, but it's a nine point six seven Raw athletic score is this a new thing that they're doing the raw athletic score. No, this is like There's a guy on Twitter that does this Shout out. I feel like I saw this more this year than I ever have yeah, it's I guess it's probably more prevalent now, but it's ⁓ It's math bomb on Twitter. He kind of does this himself outside of like away from like NFL. This isn't like official, like NFL official stuff. is like, he just does this just for fun, which means he like is super into it. Right. ⁓ and this kind of, he takes all the athletes from like, like 1986 from the combine up to now. So he kind of compares all of them to the current guys. It's all combined. It's all combined. It's no pro day or anything outside of that. Um, so he got a 9.67 highest as a 10. So he obviously is one of the most athletic safeties to come through the combine. Um, what you want in the safety. That is what you want. And not to mention, he's a white fella. Okay. We got to mention it, right? Super athletic guy. Yeah. He's a safety shout out. You know, ⁓ blank and ship, which is first name. I for the Eagles. ⁓ I'm singing to the kicker. know same name. Something like and ship. I read blank and ship. will be a charting safety. ⁓ next season. ⁓ next one I have up is sunny styles. Linebacker out of Ohio state. Arguably the most, ⁓ impressive day at the combine. I came in at six. ⁓ feet, five inches, 244 pounds, ran a 447 official 40, had a 43 and a half inch vertical jump, 11.2 inch broad jump, had a 9.99 raw athletic score, which you've got to take it with a little bit grain of salt. It's some guy, know, doing this on his own, but he's taking into account... 9.99 sounds pretty impressive. Right. He's taking into account their position, their height, their weight, and their, obviously their athleticism. So it's like your 40 time for your position, not just like 40 time and all the other stuff. Right. It's a 40 time for the position. It's your vertical jump, your broad jump and the other, you know, agility drills if they choose to do them. So he led all the linebackers highest vert ⁓ from someone taller than six. Well, he led all the linebackers in the vertical jump and the 40 and he had the tallest vert for somebody over six, four since 2003, which there's been obviously quite a lot of people. Yeah. 2003, that's pretty impressive. I mean, he had a 43 and a half inch vert, right? Like that's insane. Yeah. People consider 40 insane. So three, three and a half inches. mean, this is like Michael Jordan type, know, athleticism. Yeah. Except he's got like. 40 pounds on Michael Jordan or 50 pounds. And he still ran a four four seven at that weight and the height. ⁓ and then he got Kenyan Sadiq who was probably the highlight of the combine. You know, six, this guy's an athletic freak. Yeah. Tight end of Oregon came in at six three, 241 pounds, right at four three nine, which is the best ever for a tight end at the combine. had a 43 and a half inch vert. Second best ever for a tight end. At the combine 11.2 inch broad third best ever for a tight end at the combine. This, all right. This is all combine stuff, but it's. Yeah. It's not like people are at their pro date. I don't include pro day stuff because that is. It's very skewed, right? It's all hand timed and kind of up to an interpretation, it's, it's not as accurate as combine stuff as a laser time. try and gas them up at the pro day versus the combines varied like analytical. This is what you ran laser. Exactly. the 9.43 raw orthotic tour, if you want to count that as something that you care about. He actually did during his 40 time, he hit 23.2 miles per hour, which was the same speed as Jameer Gibbs when he ran the 40 time. And Jameer Gibbs came in at the combine. came in at 199 pounds. Almost a 50 pound difference. a 50 pound difference. Same top speed. And then, you know, as impressive as this was. I'll say Kenyon Siddique, he's one of those guys, whenever you looked at him on the football field, like whenever Texas Tech played against him in the playoffs, he looks like a freak. Like he has massive arms. He looks like ⁓ a linebacker playing tight end. Like he's built. He's a big boy. Yeah, you can tell. I mean, he's jacked. He's swole. And then right behind him is Eli Stowers. Came in at 6-3, another tight end. out of Vanderbilt, six foot three, 239 pounds, ran a four five one 40, which is slower than Kenyan Shadig, but a four five one for a end is still insanely impressive. And he also, in addition to that, had a 45 and a half inch vertical jump, highest ever for a tight end in the combine. Also had a 11.3 inch broad jump. Also insane, right? And people ask, People probably wonder like, why do they measure the jumping, like the vertical and the broad? Like, why does that matter? I think that's just a measure of explosiveness. Right? Like what the broad jump and the vertical? Yeah. Like, you know. Well, the vertical I know is like, when, especially for a tight end, it's like where you, where they're going to high point a ball. Like that's something that's very ⁓ good for the position. ⁓ the broad jump that's more. Yeah. Explosiveness. I always look at that more for, for DBS or for, for corners, for safeties. ⁓ because it's very good about like, you have to be able to break up a play, jump and make, make a play right then and there. Who knows how far they're off. ⁓ and that's the type of guys you want to be explosive. I wouldn't really look at that for tight ends, but yeah, I know it's a great way to see like how explosive a guy is off, off just from a standstill. Right. Like off the line, like even, know. That's like how far can they move vertically and horizontally all in one step. Right. Like, you know, they even have offensive lineman and everybody does it. Offensive lineman. Let me see. ⁓ Everybody does it. They're not, there's been some real impressive heights, you 9.46 raw athletic score for him, which is higher than Kenia Zidique. ⁓ actually ties the highest vertical since 1999, just in general. Stowers did. So shout out to him. And then the last one that I have here, which personally for me, Probably the most impressive tail and green quarterback out of Arkansas, six foot six, 227 pounds and a official four or three, six, four yard dash at a 43 and a half inch vertical. The, the four yard dash was the second fastest behind. I don't know if you saw it, what I wrote down. No, I did not. Who do you think ran faster than four quarterback four through six? No, no, no. He the second fastest ever. history? Yeah, there's only one quarterback in the combine to run faster than him. Probably not Kyle Murray. I don't know if Lamar Jackson ran at the combine. I wouldn't initially say Lamar Jackson. He did run. He did run. Okay. I'm gonna say Lamar Jackson. No. Mr. Michael Big. Ooh, the lefty. 433. So .03 faster than David Hanger. But still, Michael Big wasn't 6'6", 227. Yeah. No, you, this is a good point you bring up. seems like guys like the median. Yeah, there's these freaks that have always been in the NFL, but now it seems like more of like the median is catching up. there's more, the, the talent pool is getting bigger and bigger. These guys that are bigger, faster, stronger. And we're seeing that at more of a rate now than we did 20 years ago, where it's like, like you said, Michael Vick was the last quarterback to run this fast. And now we're starting to see other guys catch up to that mark. I think this was like the fastest average, just average wise, the fastest running backs, the fastest tight ends. ⁓ got it right here. The fastest linebackers, fastest DBs, fastest receivers, fastest running backs, fastest linebackers, fastest tight ends, fastest D line, fastest O line this class for the medium. So like you saying, people are getting stronger and faster every single year. Will we ever see somebody break? Xavier, we're at least four, two, two or four, two, one, whatever it is at some point. Yeah. As far as the one off, but what's crazy is you're seeing the median, like the middle group of everyone start catching up to that number. It's starting to get closer and closer every year. Like we said, like the median this year was faster than it was in previous combine. So it's just, it's something that's always, it's always picking up. Yeah. And it was funny because, you know, the combine, they like to, to compare, know, whoever's running. performing to, you there's somebody else who might not be either the same position. Like they compared Taylor green to, to DK Metcalf. Ooh, one is a quarterback and one is your wide receiver. And they were that comparable in their athletic ability. did tell me in a, in a one-off conversation, you told me Taylor green better be ready to learn wide receiver. Yeah. Listen, Mr. Green. That's going to be insult. That's obviously insulting to hear. said the same thing to Lamar Jackson. Yeah. Get ready to learn running back or whatever. You're to learn running back. I mean, it's just, you're in, you're that big, you're that fast, you're that explosive and no insult, no disrespect. Taylor Green, not the best quarterback, you know, in this upcoming draft. Right. Would it benefit him to convert to a tight end or receiver? Probably not. If he's being comp to DK, maybe. I mean, but if he can get developed as a quarterback, he's a faster, more athletic, know, LeBar Jackson. But I didn't see something. It's like people are saying Anthony Richardson kind of ruined it for these types of quarterbacks. They're just athletic freaks. Like where you just want to take a shot on them. Like we just saw what happened with Anthony Richardson where he's kind of like, I don't know, he's kind of been tucked away in the shadows and the cult organization. And he did have an orbital fracture this year within his eyes. That makes things kind of tough. He tears ACL or something. ⁓ But it wasn't like when he was playing, it was like jump off the page, great quarterback. Actually like, yes, he can throw the ball a long way, but is it accurate? The deep ball was accurate, but like the short throws just weren't there. Yeah. It's about, and even I've heard that, know, Anthony Richardson was able to navigate, you know, the pocket well. Yeah. Able to identify pressure and get the ball away. Tainton Green. Not as good as that or not as good at that. Some team will take a shot on them, but I don't think. it's not like if it's not the end of the world, if you're this athletic of a quarterback. ⁓ And you can't play quarterback. It's not like you, that's the end of the world for you. Yeah. Right. You know, Taysom Hill still has a Taysom Hill still is employed by the NFL, right? And Taylor Greene is substantially more, right? This could be, yeah, this is it for Taysom Hill. get it. But he had a good year, got paid a lot, had a lot of good plays, and was able to impact the game in a lot of other ways outside of throwing the ball. And so will Taylor Green if he decides to change positions or... And just from the Arkansas games I did watch last year, especially the one against A whenever I watched Taylor Green, it wasn't really his throwing capabilities that was like, ⁓ this guy's a great quarterback, but it was his running ability. Like when he's running, it looks like... It looks like a dad playing at it like his kid's birthday party and all the kids are trying to put a hand on him. They can't. It looks like it's on easy mode for him when he's running the ball. Yeah. So maybe, I mean, a team, if they wanted to, they could just take him, put him at Wildcat and it would be a situation. Like look at what the Steelers do. They take Aaron Rodgers out and bring a tight end, put him in there. You go take Taylor Hill. Taylor, Taylor Hill. That's funny. His name's that close to Taysom Hill. take Taylor Green. I him in there and started running Wildcat with him or something. I think that would be, you know, he'd have a job that fell for a long time and then he still has that throwing capability. ⁓ I think his legs will be the reason he gets a job more than anything. And, just speaking on combine, just stuff real quick, a shout out real quick. I want to send over to, ⁓ Brendan Thompson, wide receiver out of Mississippi state, had the fastest 40 time at a four to six. And I say special shout out because he is from the hometown that my dad is from in Spearman, Texas, little town in the panhandle of Texas. He went and played ball at Oklahoma and Texas for a little bit before transferring to Mississippi State. ⁓ had a pretty decent season there. I think he was their leading receiver. So hopefully he gets to see a shot in NFL, especially with a 40 time like that. think, you know, we're talking about guys that have a, they have the capabilities to go do it. think, you know, It's kind of been knocked on him a little bit, but I think he has, you know, the speed to keep up with the league and, ⁓ especially around a four two six. So shout out there to the hometown kid. I know Xavier and Thomas. What did Xavier and Thomas do? LSE receiver ran a four two eight. Ooh, it didn't be a four two six though. It didn't. Which is, I find it interesting that although they didn't come close to, you know, Xavier Rearly four two one, whatever, just the average times were just a lot. lower. It seemed like every wide receiver was running like low 4-4s, which was probably like the average. Yeah. I mean, there wasn't any crazy slow times. There's three players that ran in the 4-2s this year. I think that's like one of the most in a draft. Like I said, Brendan Thompson, Lorenzo Stiles, and then Xavion Thomas. I mean, it's the medians catching up, but I always want to shout out the fastest. It's like when you used to go erase your boys at recess, you want to see who the fastest is. Matt, we should go run 40s. I'm always curious to see how a regular guy would do. I know they put Rich Eisen on there and he races all these people and there's been, it's just, it's just complete blowouts. You don't realize how fast these guys are. We had a debate in our fantasy football group chat of like, could any of us run a four six? No, don't know if anyone can. Maybe four seven, maybe four seven, four eight. But with that, with what you just said, Markel Bell. ⁓ Offensive tackle for the Miami hurricanes came in at six foot nine three hundred and forty six pounds and he ran a five three six pretty slow I did I put that in the right like I put that in our group shot that slow it's low he did he's six nine almost 350 and you're gonna five three six like that's might have been rage made Matt a little bit you were raised made me that's This isn't saying much but he would beat the shit out of me in a four yard dash. When he's got like a foot on me and like at a six. How much does he weigh? 70, 80 pounds. Two 55, 260. Oh, wow. Wow. He's moving. He's moving. Yeah, he's moving. Fast as. No, he was two. You're saying he was two 50. Three 50. Oh, he's three 50. I think he was two. I was like six, nine, two 50. That's pretty small. nine, three 46. Officially three 46. All right. That's pretty quick. Yeah, that's lot of object emotion. to stay in motion type type movement going on. Brother's got motion. This is like, you know, it benefits. There's a lot of players that didn't do the 40 or didn't do agility drills in the combine. That's okay. But the players that do it can either really affect their draft stock and then negative or a positive way. Like Brendan Thompson, maybe he wasn't being looked at as One of the top receivers now may he's getting drafted in like the fourth round or third round and sort of like the six or the seventh or whatever. Yeah. I hate kid. ⁓ yeah. We saw the same thing kind of, we've always seen stuff where like people can either, you know, I think the combine, there's a lot of guys that don't do it because they think it hurts through draft stock. I think if you're like a solidified top 10 pig, like Fernando Mendoza, ⁓ it maybe doesn't help you, but if you're someone that's on the cusp of like a third, fourth, fifth round, like You should definitely do the combine because you can, can really help yourself. Yeah. And, ⁓ Colonel Tate probably the, going to be one of the first, definitely going to be one of the first receivers off the board in this upcoming draft. Ran the 40 was a four, five, low four, five guy. Probably actually he's faster than that, but that's just what he ran the combine. ⁓ and people are saying that, know, always this stack is, Draft stock is going to tank now because he didn't run that fast. Four, five, three. Right. They're saying is, you he didn't run the four, fours. He's not that fast. You know, he's going to get drafted later now. CD Lam run like a four, ran like a four, five flat. know, Puka is a four, five guy. You know, there's a lot of guys that are in the four fives that are obviously in Puka's case, the top two to three, two to three receiver in the league. Arguably the best. I feel like as long as you're under that, there's a certain threshold. If you're under that, like And you got good, you got good hands, good instincts. Like you'll have a job in NFL. Speed isn't the end all be all, but it can help you in certain cases. It helps a lot. Especially like if this was Madden, you'd be taken first overall. Cause that's all Madden is, is just speed guys. You just want the fastest team possible. Uh, but real quick, just on something I saw, there's some experts out there, Matt, some rumblings I've heard saying that Mendoza, Fernando Mendoza is not the guy and should not be taken first overall. think it was Dan Arloski said he's gone back and watched the first eight games of Mendoza's season. He said, no, I was not impressed. There's been some other people that just say, yeah. other people that have come out and said like, you know, he just, he doesn't jump off the board as a number one draft pick to me. Who's more impressed with Ty Simpson's first half of the season than Mendoza's. Yeah. think it's something like, if you go back and watch that national championship game, you see Mendoza's, ⁓ how he's willing to lay his body on the line. I think you have to take him first overall if you're the Raiders. ⁓ But honestly, would, whoever the Raiders don't take, that will probably be a Hall of Famer. They have a bad history of taking guys and the next guy taken after ⁓ is normally a first round, first ballot Hall of Famer. So tough look there, but. I know they, granted they do have a history of taking a quarterback and then rolling overall, which who doesn't? paying out to be the best. Yeah. Mendoza doesn't strike me they'll that same problem, but. No, I mean, they have to take him. There's no choice. They need a quarterback. He's clear in a way the best quarterback in the draft, especially since Dante Moore is going back for another, another year in college. Yeah. There might be some there, but ⁓ I guess trying to chainless is also coming out too. So, I mean, there is a quarterback class. I wouldn't say this is like the most stacked quarterback class we've seen. and years, like this is very, I'd say it's a very average class. ⁓ And we kind of saw that with where the Heisman was. Like it was a very down year for the Heisman. wasn't anyone that ran away with it other than Mendoza. So I think that answers that question. Shout out to someone that will be a future Hall of Famer, Bobby Wagner. He's currently at 2000 career total tackles. He is coming back for his. 15th season is third with Washington and he is just 60 tackles away from passing the all-time leader Ray Lewis at 2059 now Ray Lewis still holds the solo tackle record at 1568 tackles compared to Wagner's 11, 110 solo tackles Bobby Wagner had a 162 tackles and 2025 132 in 2024. So he should be able to get it done in this season He's played 17 games in the last four seasons, so he should be able to pass up the Hall of Famer Ray Lewis. Shout out to our Commanders fans, all three of them that are on this podcast. That's all I had. So Matt, was that all we had for the NFL? Yeah, I think that's it. All right, cool, cool. Next we're gonna come in, come back, and we're gonna do some apologies. We're gonna talk about some MLB stuff that's going on, and then we'll wrap up the show. And we're back. through some apologies and talk about some baseball going on. Starting off with the apologies, hand up right here. Hand up on this guy. Hand up on the ability. I owe an apology to Texas Tech Men's Basketball. They took down number four Iowa this past Saturday in Ames. Shout out Donovan Atwell, senior guard for the Red Raiders, had 18 points. All threes, by the way, went six for 10 from three. It only played 38 minutes, which. They only play 40 minutes in college, so he only missed two minutes of the game. But Texas Tech has now beat four of the top five ranked teams in the college basketball world. Texas Tech currently has wins over the AP ranked number one Duke, number two Arizona, number four Iowa State, and number five Houston. The only top five team that they haven't played or beaten is number three Michigan, so. Look out in the tournament Michigan, they're coming for you, the Red Raiders. And the Red Raiders are currently ranked, I believe 10th now. They were 16th whenever I wrote this down, but then the new rankings came out, they're now 10th. And then they go and lose to unranked TCU and it upsets. So I don't know what to make of this team. You know what? That's exactly the Texas Tech fashion. The second you get your hopes up, they're going to let you down. The second you don't think anything's going to happen, think, oh, JT Toppin's gone. They come and shock you and upset the number four team in the country. So. Red Raiders are looking frisky for March. ⁓ They're playing a certain style of basketball that Grant McCaston's got those boys playing. The toughest team wins is like their motto. And by God, they're doing it other than when they lost to TCU. So I come on here, make an apology, and then they go and lose to an unranked team. It's typically how it goes. And ⁓ they are playing BYU for the final game of the season on ⁓ March 7th. And that will be a 930 tip. So we'll see what happens. They've already beat BYU once. And now BYU is unranked or no. Yeah. BYU is unranked. So probably we'll lose that one now too, but I'm sure I'll make an apology next game whenever they upset and are in the tournament. did see Matt, did you see this? That the big 12 tournament, did you see the court that they're playing on? It's an led court and it looks freaking sick. I was one of those people that was like keeper to traditional basketball for the big 12 tournament, but it is like, they can do all types of led designs with it. They're doing like. They can run plays with it. Obviously they won't run plays during the game, but they can make it look like a team's home court while they're playing in the big 12 tournament. It's a new thing that they're rolling out. I think the women are playing on it this week when their big 12 tournament starts. And then, ⁓ then the men will play on it next week, whatever that's going on. So it looks, it looks sick. And apparently players said that they like it more than other courts. said it feels a little spongier and they still get the same grips. ⁓ I'm pretty excited to watch the big 12 tournament with that going on. ⁓ Looks pretty impressive, right? Yeah. I mean, they can change, ⁓ it was every team is I guess home. Yeah. They can do whatever you swap it out. Swap it out with their home. There's like a, if there's like a shot behind the three point arc, ⁓ the, the line will glow or something. Like it's, it's pretty sick. It's the new tech coming in new tech. Shout out new tech. Hopefully that doesn't disrupt their play. guess, know, needs to incorporate this as the NBA for the play in tournament with. all their crazy court designs. Yeah, they do a bunch of crazy shit. But I'm sure like somehow like one of the LED panels is gonna go out. We're gonna hear all about like why these courts shouldn't happen. Like people on Twitter will be groaning about it. But I like it. It looks sleek. Looks pretty cool. I'll to see how plays out. It's better than what they had last year. Last year was a super busy court. It was hard to tell what was going on. So, Big 12 leading the front charge on that. Also shout out Krista Gerlich. women's Texas tech head coach named a big 12 coach of the year. So Texas tech's looking on the up and up, getting ready for March. I thought about making the podcast intro this week, like the March madness intro music. but we might get, uh, we might get copyrighted. That's true. We're getting there. Yeah. They're going to be coming after us. Oh, this, this our last little segment about a college. Lou Holtz. Oh yeah. Glad you bring him up. Holtz, college football ⁓ legend, just passed away today. One of the goats. Taking the shaggy shit. If not the goat, He's one them. One of the goats, dude. RIP. Legend was lost today. you know, he was getting up there in age, but you hate to see when a legend of the game goes out, so. Notre Dame legend to Notre Dame legend. So I he was the head coach in 98 when they won and they won it all Yeah, that makes sense Yeah, Lou holds man all the legends passing Get into some other MLB news going around so I've been watching a little bit of spring training a little bit here and there not super crazy into it or anything But the MLB is announcing or introducing a new ABS challenge system, automated balls and strike system for the 2026 season. And it's going around in the, ⁓ in the, in the, ⁓ pre-season right now, ⁓ the spring training. If you don't know what the ABS system is, they've been doing it in the minor leagues for a couple of years. They've been testing it out, but teams get two unsuccessful challenges per game. And the results are determined by their new Hawkeye tracking technology at about 15 seconds. Yeah. Hawkeye. Avengers legend. How it works, the players, the batter, pitcher or catcher can trigger a review by tapping their helmet or cap immediately after a pitch. And this will, you know, if they think it's a ball or they think it's a strike and the umpire calls it one way, they can tap their helmet and it can be challenged. You know, you get two unsuccessful ones. ⁓ And you get to keep those challenges if you're successful in your challenge. Um, for extra innings, one additional challenge will be awarded for each extra inning. And, uh, like I said, it uses the Hawkeye cameras. There's 12 in each stadium and it will track pitch location with T-Mobile's 5G network for fast, accurate results. that's like crazy sponsor plug, crazy sponsor shit by T-Mobile there. And the zone is, uh, this is a little, this little interesting fact here. The zone, the ABS zone is 17 inches wide with vertical limits set by specific players heights. So the MLB, there've been players that have been listed at six foot for I don't know how many years, but then magically this year, these guys are 5'11", making their zone a little smaller. So now the short Kings are winning in the MLB. Shout out Jose L2B. Jose L2B is going to have the shortest zone out there. Dude, I just saw a clip on Twitter. I forget which team should plan. Whatever, but they did it like, uh, like a handful of times, whether it was a ball or a strike, like the catcher just, you know, and it was right. every single time. Yeah. are saying, people are saying this makes catchers like more valuable because the pitchers, they can challenge it as well. But like the pitchers, as you're pitching and coming across your head's moving, you can't really see the zone that well, but as catcher, you're just standing right here. You'd be like, no, that's a ball. That's a strike. and they've been, I think the catchers have had more of a success on challenging it than pitchers. Batters obviously as well, it's helped them out too. I figured this was something that needed to be done for the game. We always see arguments, people are saying that we're losing the human element of the game. The umpires are in absolute hell because now they're finally being exposed ⁓ if they make a bad call. But I think this is something that was needed desperately for the game. We have the tech to do it and... ⁓ you know, speaking of new tech and they're finally rolling it out. And I do like that this isn't something that can happen every pitch. only get two unsuccessful challenges. So if you're wrong twice, then you don't have any more for the of the game unless it goes into extra endings. So I like this change. think this is going to be something people are like, well, this is going to slow down the game a lot. I think they said it added an extra 10 or 15 minutes to the game. If like there's just constant challenges. So I think that is an okay price to pay for as long as the calls are right and they're making sure. So I think two is a a good number as well because they're going to be right more than twice. Yeah. And it makes them like, have to be, make sure that they really feel like it's a ball or a strike. They can't just like review it just to review it. Maybe they were doing it a little willy nilly in that clip that I saw. mean, it is, you know, spring training, spring training. They're doing it maybe just to test it out. Obviously, obviously you're testing it out right now, but they were right way more than they were wrong. Yeah. No, I, they're not going to. Probably not going to challenge it that much in the regular season, but they're going to be right more than they're wrong. No, I think as the season picks up, like these guys are just now getting their eyes back for being in the box and, and know what the zone is. Like we're going to see these batters and catchers. I don't think the pitchers will be as successful in this in the long run, but I think like the batters and catchers, I think there'll be a lot more successful than people think. think there's someone that, you know, they're taking thousand pitches every week. and working on their zones. So they get a really good feel for what's a strike and what's a ball. And obviously this is going to hold the umpires accountable too. Like instead of just like them arguing with the umpire, they can just tap their helmet real quick and you know, we'll get it settled right then and there. So I think it's something that's good. There are limits to when this can be used. So challenges cannot be used when a positional player is pitching and normally that's in a blowout game. So it's like, you don't really need to be challenging it anyways. So I mean, when you see the guys come in and they feel like 60 miles an hour and they're just nukes being sent into the stands. Also, your team from the dugout can't yell challenge that, challenge that. It has to be from the batter, catcher or the pitcher. You have to decide right there after a pitch is thrown. It can't be like, ⁓ we saw it on the iPad. You should challenge that pitch. It has to be right then and there. So I like that aspect of it too. If the pitcher and the catcher are going to have to have some kind of signal that they have with each other, like is the pitcher. Like if the pitcher wants to challenge something, maybe it'll have a little signal to the catcher and the catcher will be like, yeah. Or they'll be like, maybe save it. There's been a couple already where the pitcher has challenged it and the catcher puts his head down and he starts shaking. He's like, no, that's not going to work. I guess look at that. knows almost, but. Yeah. Look at that ironed out brother. There was someone that was just completely, there was someone that was, or a farming in the Boston game and a Boston spring game. It's Boston spring training game. Who was it? there? ⁓ I think it was the Braves guy. Acuna Jr. I think it was. No, Acuna. I don't think it was him. It was one of those guys. It was, was a three, two count umpire called a strike three. He tapped his helmet, took off his gear and walked to first base and it came out. was ball. That's crazy. It's like, dude, that is a crazy gamble of showing up. ump. Least to happen when not a lot of people are awesome. Yeah. I was like, well, it was, was going around. was a funny clip on on a TikTok, but I did see here the, the, ⁓ They did pull some fans about like, they asked them, you think this is a good change for the game of baseball? 72 % said yes. They said, ⁓ are we headed towards a purely robot umpire? 69 % said yes. And then I just was wondering how this translates to other sports. I think honestly, baseball has been behind the ball on this. No pun intended, but football, basketball, tennis, soccer, they already do this. Like football has a review that you can do. Basketball, can review stuff like this. ⁓ Basketball should probably change it to where like certain fouls can be reviewed. And that's probably where those are slacking a little bit. like everyone's seen soccer, if you're off sides, they have a whole digital line that goes across the field. And tennis is the same way where they can, they can zoom in. So I think this is something that needed to happen for the game of baseball. And I think it'll be a good change overall. I guess baseball does have the most like controversial call. It's just. because they have pitching and is it a ball or a strike? There's not that many plays that can be debated on in any other sport. Yeah. Whereas like baseball, they don't have a frame out there. That's a, you bring up a good point. They don't have like a, the square that you see on TV, newsflash, it's not out there in the actual game. So they don't actually, they can't tell. It's really up to the human element. The first down line in football. Yeah. Newsflash. News flashed, there's not a yellow line going across NFL field. What do you think? Do you think it's? I think it's a good change. I do like that they're keeping the human element. I hope it doesn't go purely to robot umpires, but now it's like the catchers are a little upset because of the art of, they say the art of framing is gone. Uh, where you could take a ball and make it a strike and make it look like a strike. It's still there. Like you only have two challenges. Now, if you could challenge every, every pitch, then yeah, it'd be a little tough, but I think this is something like. Like the, it's the art of making something look like it. Isn't what it actually is. is that. It's lying. They're lying. If they're a ball, it's a ball, man. Who cares? know? So they're like, ⁓ think it was Walker. No, Bueller. Pitcher for. Yeah. Did you see it? You know I'm talking about? He was saying that there's veterans in the league that should get those calls on the corners. And I was like, if it's a ball or it's a strike, man, make Make up your mind. I do think it's funny, just like the players are shortening their heights to make their zone smaller because every player had to get officially measured by the MLB because these cameras have to be able to track what their zone is at all these stadiums. Walker Buehler? Yeah, it's Walker Buehler. Los Angeles Dodger pitcher? Shut up, dude. You're going to win it again this year. Shut up. Yeah, he was saying the pitchers should get certain calls. The guys that have been in the leagues longer and the rookies should have to work harder for the zone. Say it's a respect thing. Insane statement. How about you throw a strike, Mr. Bueller? Yeah, how about you just pitch? How about you enjoy your free ride to World Series? How about you enjoy the 3P you boys are about to go on? Yeah. So that's all I have for the ABS system. You think it's a good thing, Matt? Yeah, and I understand, like, it's gonna take the human element out of it, I guess, but like, it's only, like, I do, I like the clips, I like the clips of Uh, you know, people are, you know, batters yelling at the, the OMS getting their face in the, you know, the coaches coming out and get in the umpire's face. I like that, but like, just cause it's fun to watch, but is that really, uh, beneficial to the game? No. Is getting the call right beneficial to the game? Yeah. My only thing was like, are these umpires going to get upset that they're like, you know, like one of the unwritten rules of baseball, can't show up the Yom. You can't turn around and like yell at him or something. can't get in his face. Yeah, that's bullshit. But are they going to now be upset when a guy's like, ⁓ no, start tapping my head. That's it. I'm reviewing that. If they are, then they can, that's a little soft. can get out then they'll lose their job to robots. call it. I love it. I love it when the gets a good little three. Yeah. You get them out. Don't ever lose that aspect of baseball, please. Do I want to see Wally behind Bryce Harper? You know, maybe not, but Always gonna get the color right Wally's crazy. Well, he's gonna get the color right ten times out of See Bryce Harper turn around sir argue with Wally. Yeah, I'm gonna beat Wally with the bat. I Clip with two numbers. All right Actually, I don't know if they're continue this but we'll get in the next thing for baseball here the world baseball classic is starting and We've now let the world know how good we are at hockey now. It's time to let him know how good we are at baseball and ⁓ That's all starting up. actually started up this week. USA is taking on Brazil, I believe Friday when this episode drops. There's a lot of sports happening Friday, but I don't know who's on the Brazil team. I do know the USA team is pretty good MLB talent. Actually the whole pool that USA is in, pool B, it's USA, Mexico, Italy, Britain, and Brazil. So the top two of that will come out from each pool. And I think we should easily get out of that. I can't wait for that clip to be. posted everywhere of me saying the USA should easily be out. mean, the Rangers just played Brazil today. Beat them by what, 11, 13 to two or something like that. Yeah, but we, don't, Brazil's going to be sneaky, dude. They're probably wrestling their starters getting ready to lose. The losing of the Rangers like that, they ain't sneaky. But, chat cheapy T did do an, ⁓ a bracket. did predict the, who's coming out of the pools and who's going to win. I'll put it up as well. ⁓ they have USA and Mexico coming out of that. And then they have USA taking on Japan in the championship. So a rematch of I think last year think yeah, we're baseball classics every year. It's not like the Olympics And then it has Japan beating us again. So Shohei Otani on route to his second world baseball classic possibly. We'll see. Gotta go through Screech scooball and Paul Skeens and also is is I did not know this is Freddie Freeman. Yeah, he's playing on the Canada team this year. I did not know he was Canadian It's kind of like, yeah, I just, I didn't know. saw, I saw he was in a Canada uniform. said, what the heck? I find losing pal. I did not know he was Canadian. We're going let the world know what's going on with baseball though. USA is taking it all. Matt, we got to our final segment here. One final question, one final question, not to keep three cut five this week. We're doing one final question. A pretty easy one here. I think I know the answer to it, but is March slash April the best? back to back sports months on the calendar. You said I did take a sneak peek of this earlier today and I did come up with a counter argument to it. So first, before you come up with your counter argument, let me let everyone know what's happening in the months of March, pin April, what we got going on. So we got the world baseball classic starting. We got opening day for the MLB on the baseball side of things. We have the NHL and NBA regular seasons going on. Golf, we got the players championship, the Masters and RBC heritage. Formula one starts up March 29th. NASCAR race is going on. Tyler Reddick is going to win them all apparently. ⁓ Soccer, the MLS season starts. March Madness, the holy grail of tournaments or anything like the funnest couple weeks of the year. And then you got the NFL draft at the end of April. It is absolutely jam packed. What's the counter argument now? Well, it's hard to, to, ⁓ to counter that, but I do have October to September. You mean September to October? I do have September to October. Sorry, first day on earth. ⁓ I mean, you got NBA season starting October 21st. You got NFL season starting September 10th. And then you get, you know, baseball playoffs. Does. Which. Playoffs, speaking of the playoffs, the best playoffs. I think we can both agree. When I was out of the four majors, it's baseball, right? Yeah. I love some October baseball. Nothing beats it. But I would, when I was writing this question, that was the other one I was thinking of that September to October. And it's almost like the fall and spring, like winter and summer kind of tough. Yeah. There's nothing really starting or. I mean, coming to its peak at that point. There's the Superbowl or there's like the summer Olympics. but as far as like, I feel like fall and spring, like that's when the weather's at the best across the country. Uh, so that's when you get like the most sports starting up or like you said, football is a big carrier of September, October. Like there was football in March or April, it'd be over other than, guess, the XFL. So I guess I could put the XFL in there as a counter. UFL but you can't be March 28th. The NFL is king. You can't beat it. And then like you said, got October baseball, basketball. I still probably lean towards March, April just because March madness, the masters. Those are two heavy hitters. That's what's carrying it all. And then opening day for baseball is just a beautiful. That's like finally get to leave the house again. You get to, you get to go outside again. that's, that's the only thing September to rest. That's besides playoff. baseball, it's opening of the regular season of NBA and the NFL. Yeah. And then I guess, yeah, NHL is like November. When does that start up? No, that's like December. That's in winter. I don't know. Big hockey. Yeah. Huge. Yeah. We've two episodes where we just talked hockey. Yeah. Like I love NFL drafted. Yeah. And obviously Marissa Madness is like my, probably everybody's. I'll good with yours. We will have a bracket challenge for the podcast. So. We will get a group started. We'll put it in one of these episodes once the brackets get announced. I believe that'll be at the end of March. So we'll be running that. and Matt will be comparing. Matt, maybe we do another bet for our brackets. Absolutely. Maybe we start thinking of whoever has the better bracket.
