- 0:08Speaker 1: Now back to the Mond Dumon Show onr.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some cause. Let's go to Harry in
- 0:16Speaker 2: Long Valley. Where is Long Valley?
- 0:18Speaker 3: Harry, Well, it's not too far from Morristown, New Jersey
- 0:22Speaker 3: or Hackettstown. Oh, probably right in the middle. I was
- 0:25Speaker 3: just listening to This Morning, Mark, and good morning. You're
- 0:28Speaker 3: talking about the Fsteine files, and there's another side of
- 0:31Speaker 3: the story which I just want to get your opinion on.
- 0:34Speaker 3: I know the far left Democrats are looking for something
- 0:38Speaker 3: on Trump there they have the Trump to arrangement syndrome.
- 0:41Speaker 3: But what about the far left party itself bringing this
- 0:45Speaker 3: to a head in Congress? They want it out right now?
- 0:49Speaker 3: Is it possible? And here's the point, is it possible?
- 0:52Speaker 3: They want to purge their own party of the older
- 0:58Speaker 3: like Schumer type.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Those are the types that there are types they're usually
- 1:03Speaker 2: going to be in there. Yeah, you're right, it's a
- 1:04Speaker 2: good point. There's a lot of those old elitist establishment
- 1:09Speaker 2: Democrats in there that'll get wiped out, but there's a
- 1:12Speaker 2: lot of their donors in there. There's a lot of
- 1:13Speaker 2: big CEOs in there. There's no Trump in these files.
- 1:16Speaker 2: You're gonna be very, very disappointed when you see everything.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Let's go to Richard in Greenwich, Connecticut. Richard, how you doing, Hey, Mark,
- 1:26Speaker 2: how are you today? Good?
- 1:28Speaker 4: I just wanted to thank you very much for you
- 1:31Speaker 4: recommended a while ago the book.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Loved Johnny Love Johnny Carson. We had the author on yesterday.
- 1:39Speaker 4: Oh you, oh man, I gotta I gotta rewind your
- 1:42Speaker 4: podcast yesterday. I was out, but I wanted to thank you.
- 1:46Speaker 4: It is chock full of like the most fascinating stories. Uh,
- 1:52Speaker 4: even if you're not a Johnny Garson fan, but I
- 1:54Speaker 4: I find myself reading again. I just loved the book,
- 1:58Speaker 4: and I wanted to thank you for that. I mean,
- 2:00Speaker 4: all the grudges that he had in his personal life,
- 2:03Speaker 4: and the backstage and the wise and Ed McMahon and
- 2:08Speaker 4: and Sinatra and just I have not even finished with
- 2:11Speaker 4: it yet. It's like three quarters away done, and uh yeah,
- 2:15Speaker 4: somehow it makes my heart happy to read it.
- 2:17Speaker 2: No, it's quite a book. Everybody should get the book.
- 2:19Speaker 2: It's called Love Johnny Carson. It's by Mark Malkoff. It's
- 2:23Speaker 2: on Amazon. Just go get it. It's the latest and
- 2:26Speaker 2: the greatest book ever written about Johnny Carson. But you're right,
- 2:29Speaker 2: it has a million stories. You're that whole era of
- 2:32Speaker 2: Showa you mentioned. Yes, yeah, I'm in the book in
- 2:36Speaker 2: a lot of places. But everybody get the book. It's
- 2:38Speaker 2: called Love Johnny Carson, Love Johnny Carson. Just go order it.
- 2:42Speaker 2: You'll thank me. You'll read. It's also a good Christmas
- 2:45Speaker 2: present too for somebody. Let's go to uh Patrick in Westchester. Patrick,
- 2:50Speaker 2: how you doing fine?
- 2:51Speaker 5: Mark?
- 2:51Speaker 6: How are you today?
- 2:52Speaker 2: I'm good? How are you good?
- 2:54Speaker 5: Good?
- 2:54Speaker 6: Well? We love listening to your show, and I think
- 2:56Speaker 6: you have the best guess of anybody on radio. I
- 2:59Speaker 6: just wanted with thinking of an update on a pass
- 3:03Speaker 6: cast Michael Riedle, can you update us on what's new
- 3:05Speaker 6: with him?
- 3:06Speaker 2: He's doing well. He's been in Florida a lot. He's
- 3:10Speaker 2: working on another book. Actually right, we should get him
- 3:12Speaker 2: back on the show sometimes. Good idea. Let's go to
- 3:16Speaker 2: Tony in White Plains. Tony, how you doing?
- 3:18Speaker 7: Yeah, good morning, Mark. I don't talk about this Newscombe
- 3:22Speaker 7: the governor California. What a joke this guys, He leaves
- 3:25Speaker 7: the country. He's talking about the biggest hopes we ever
- 3:27Speaker 7: had climate change, and in meantime, California burned it down
- 3:32Speaker 7: kind of he's responsible part of it and the water
- 3:35Speaker 7: situation and over there, and Mark, can I say one
- 3:37Speaker 7: more thing? You remember the movies like in the fifties,
- 3:41Speaker 7: you know, the black and whites and all that newscomb
- 3:43Speaker 7: You know what it reminds me of. You ever see
- 3:45Speaker 7: the Solda jerks like in a candy store with that
- 3:47Speaker 7: paper hat on. That's what it reminds you every time
- 3:50Speaker 7: I see him on TV.
- 3:52Speaker 2: All right, well, thanks for calling. I hate to break
- 3:54Speaker 2: it to you. He's the front runner for twenty twenty eight.
- 3:57Speaker 2: And check historically, whoever's the Democrat runner at this point
- 4:01Speaker 2: usually gets the denomination. But it's a long way off.
- 4:04Speaker 2: But you're right, he's slick. He's a salesman. He's not
- 4:08Speaker 2: a manager, just a salesman. California is a mess. Even
- 4:12Speaker 2: after those terrible fires. You know, ninety eight percent of
- 4:15Speaker 2: those people are not backing their homes yet. Because Newsom
- 4:18Speaker 2: is a busy making podcasts and doing guest appearances, doesn't
- 4:22Speaker 2: have time to run the state. Let's go to Vincent
- 4:25Speaker 2: and Brooklyn.
- 4:26Speaker 8: Vincent, how you doing, Good morning, Mark, Good Morning Matter.
- 4:29Speaker 8: I'm doing fire mark mark in regards to the housing
- 4:32Speaker 8: and affordability crisis. I don't know who suggested that Donald
- 4:37Speaker 8: Trump the idea of a fifty year mortgage, because I
- 4:41Speaker 8: say this, I'm a senior citizen and I know a
- 4:44Speaker 8: lot of seniors listen to your show. Because that is
- 4:48Speaker 8: not a great idea. Most people don't want to be
- 4:51Speaker 8: paying off for mortgage in their senior years, and even worse,
- 4:55Speaker 8: have their children pay off their mortgage in debt. Parents
- 5:00Speaker 8: by the time they retire, their kids have grown, they
- 5:04Speaker 8: want to sell their original house that they raise, their
- 5:07Speaker 8: family cash out, take some profits, and downsize to a
- 5:12Speaker 8: smaller home, maybe in a low tax state like Florida Tennessee.
- 5:18Speaker 8: But that is not a good idea at all because
- 5:22Speaker 8: if most people when if they get married at twenty five,
- 5:26Speaker 8: they're not even ready to raise the down you're talking
- 5:29Speaker 8: about if the house is a million dollars, you got
- 5:32Speaker 8: to put ten percent down. You're talking about one hundred
- 5:35Speaker 8: thousand dollars. That's going to take them time to raise
- 5:39Speaker 8: that money. They're gonna maybe be in their their thirties
- 5:42Speaker 8: unless they get help from their parents.
- 5:44Speaker 5: And so by the time when they pay off for
- 5:47Speaker 5: fifty year mortgage. You're lucky if you lift to eighty
- 5:50Speaker 5: years old. And what happens like us, happened to some
- 5:54Speaker 5: friends of mine in Italy. The people all the way
- 5:57Speaker 5: a couple of miles down the road bought houses years
- 6:01Speaker 5: ago that they figured, in their golden years, they'd sell,
- 6:05Speaker 5: make some money on it, and downsize and live out
- 6:08Speaker 5: the rest of their life in style and class. The
- 6:12Speaker 5: neighborhood went down the toilet, like a lot of neighborhoods
- 6:15Speaker 5: are in New York, and they can't even get half
- 6:19Speaker 5: the original price they pay for it their style.
- 6:24Speaker 2: There's a little doom and gloom that does happen. But
- 6:26Speaker 2: there's other neighborhoods where you buy a cheap house and
- 6:28Speaker 2: next thing you know, twenty years later it's the hottest
- 6:30Speaker 2: neighborhood in the air.
- 6:31Speaker 5: But you don't pay mark, you don't pay or for
- 6:34Speaker 5: fifty year mortgage.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Most people, well, even I pay it off, you can
- 6:39Speaker 2: go sell it and still get a profit.
- 6:41Speaker 8: And still and if you got a fifty year mortgage
- 6:44Speaker 8: and you're only in five years paying that mortgage, you
- 6:47Speaker 8: didn't even pay off all the interest on that. You
- 6:51Speaker 8: can't even get a lot of acquity had of that
- 6:53Speaker 8: because most of it you didn't even pay off the interest.
- 6:56Speaker 2: The first tell then's a good point, no fifty year mortgage,
- 6:59Speaker 2: but throwing out ideas that, yeah.
- 7:01Speaker 8: It's a bad idea, all right, got a good idea.
- 7:04Speaker 2: Well you convinced me. All right, Well, a great call,
- 7:06Speaker 2: thanks for calling. Uh hey, when we come back, we'll
- 7:08Speaker 2: talk to the Dean himself, the greatest analyst of campaigns
- 7:12Speaker 2: and politics. We'll get to Ed Rollins. Coming up next
- 7:16Speaker 2: on seven to ten wo R
