• 1:49
We got a very special episode. It feels like it's been a while
• 1:53
since we've been here here last week, we're here last week. Okay,
• 1:56
it just honestly, we we've literally been out every week. I mean,
• 2:01
I don't know. It just feels like, you know, it's been a
• 2:04
minute since I've seen you. I'm not sure you know what it is.
• 2:06
You know, I know we were supposed to attend a certain movie screening tonight
• 2:10
that we you know, unfortunately we couldn't make it. Too shout out to
• 2:13
those people who invited us to that, you know, sorry about that's right,
• 2:16
just put us out there. We didn't have to mention it at all.
• 2:19
  I mean I said a certain one, you know, I didn't say
• 2:21
that, you know we went to this one or that one. It was
• 2:23
just a certain one. And also, who knows what night we recorded this.
• 2:27
You know, that's a multitude of nights that this should have been recorded
• 2:30
on there we go, so, you know, shout out to y'all.
• 2:35
You know, sorry, we can't make it. I had a contract at
• 2:37
my house of Dascy. That's seriously, that was what was going on.
• 2:39
Are you doing something in there? Are you knocked down walls? What you
• 2:43
doing? No, not yet, we were just getting some lights for place.
• 2:46
It's been a long time coming. Actually, that ship a squirrel in
• 2:51
our roof. Squirrel. Okay, I'm thinking you in there building a danger
• 2:53
room or something. Not yet, no once, not yet, coming soon.
• 2:58
But no, we did have we I mean the scroll on our roof
• 3:00
for a little while was our own version of a danger room. That was
• 3:04
the Brooklyn Ass dangerom because going in that bathroom where the squirrel wasn't happening was
• 3:07
a danger room. Well was it coming down? And like no, it
• 3:12
was just it was the potential reality of it. You know, the noise
• 3:16
that a squirrel mates when it's trapped in your roof or not trapped, when
• 3:22
it's living in your roof, scratching noise is kind of like there's there.
• 3:25
I have actually some of them on video. There are noises that I did
• 3:30
not know what was going on, but I would go up, you know,
• 3:32
put the video next to my bathroom ceiling so I could kind of you
• 3:37
know, I wanted other people to be to hear this, but I've never
• 3:38
shown anyone because it's terrifying. I think one of the girls. I'm not
• 3:45
sure you know exactly what was going on, but there was some type of
• 3:49
battle going on up there, and it was not good or it's life.
• 3:53
It was probably stuck in some that or some ship, what the fuck,
• 3:57
But I don't know. I think it was two of them. And right
• 4:00
now, the thing is, we've since patched a hole up and the squirrel
• 4:02
no longer can get into our roof, but I still see the squirrel and
• 4:08
they've now made a home on one of my neighbor's roofs and in you know,
• 4:11
inside of their house. So you're like, fuck them. They can
• 4:15
deal with it. They gotta deal with that one friand we had to deal
• 4:17
with it. Now you gotta deal with it, you know, keep on
• 4:19
Sorry, sorry, excellent. Yeah, I wasn't gonna murder the squirrel or
• 4:23
anything. Okay, I was over in l A. I went to rolling
• 4:27
loud. I don't even know. Yeah, I gave it. I gave
• 4:32
it, like a B minus C. I actually the Miami Rolling Loud is
• 4:39
better for me. The best performance by far was Big Seawan. Big Sean
• 4:45
did his thing like would never expect to hear that? What you would think
• 4:49
that? But like, here's my my issue. Like I go to most
• 4:53
of the festivals, so I you know, for many years now, so
• 4:57
I have a like an understanding of house and also loving music right and understanding
• 5:01
production and stuff like that. And it's a few things that tend to happen
• 5:06
at festivals unfortunately, especially when it's artists that you want to see. I
• 5:12
don't know whether it's just like a fuck you to the fans or I'm an
• 5:16
artist and I'm sensing them by my shit. I want to do it what
• 5:18
I do. The set lists, the choices. A lot of times the
• 5:23
choices in the set lists do not reflect what people actually want to hear.
• 5:27
I also understand that artists tend to use things like festivals to test out their
• 5:31
new shit or let people hear it. But it's just like I've also seen
• 5:34
instances where artists do whole sets of new shits, and it's just like I
• 5:40
did not just pay hundreds and really thousands if you count and like travel and
• 5:45
hotel and all that stuff. I didn't pay all this money to hear you
• 5:47
fucking you know, singing to a fucking drum like I wanted to hear you.
• 5:54
I want to hear some classics. If you want to do some new
• 5:56
shit, throw it in there, or do some vibe, like a song
• 6:00
that we all know and love, but you remixing it, you putting it
• 6:03
into a new beat, you doing some live instrumentation on stage, like give
• 6:08
me something, give me something live. Instead, it's always something weird and
• 6:15
like I said, it's weird or it's just like you're just doing stuff like
• 6:17
why would you not play your most HYPEUS song or why would you not play
• 6:21
the songs that your supporters really want to hear? And I understand like sequencing
• 6:28
as well, like maybe you don't want to open with your biggest banger,
• 6:30
maybe you want to end that way when you want to throw it in the
• 6:31
middle. There's reasons. I get it. It's just that when you just
• 6:35
to me squander that time, I'm like, Okay, that wasn't worth me
• 6:43
being here, but thanks anyway. But yeah, Big Sean he was.
• 6:46
He had the best, absolute best set out of anybody, just in terms
• 6:49
of just being well rounded, playing what the fuck we wanted to hear,
• 6:53
and also being just being a good performer. And he made you He kept
• 7:01
people entertained, you understand, and that's the other part. And some of
• 7:05
them like would do well with entertaining people, but then you know, then
• 7:09
it got repetitive, and you know, it was all right. I did
• 7:12
also enjoy a couple of other performances, like I liked Big X the Plug.
• 7:15
I liked some of the newer artists that were there. Don Tolliver was
• 7:23
was all right. I did. The very last set was metro Boom in
• 7:26
the Future. They brought out a few people. I mean, I absolutely
• 7:31
love metro Booming, like he can do no wrong when it comes to music
• 7:35
in my eyes. But like I said, like it was it was some
• 7:39
up and downs there, and up and downs in terms of like the festival
• 7:43
itself, how it was laid out, stuff like that. But generally I
• 7:46
had a good time. So that's why I said, like the minus sometimes
• 7:48
to see it's pretty low, and I mean I've had better experience, sure
• 7:57
obviously, so ship I sound like I had a better experience last year when
• 8:00
I went to some fest in Jamaica. I would do that, like,
• 8:03
yeah, I would do that like a B plus. And I only would
• 8:07
did that a B plus and out of A because I fucked up the first
• 8:09
night and then buy a chair and some you know, the chairs only that
• 8:13
twenty bucks. But some fest goes till you know, God knows, so
• 8:18
bring photo chairs. Yeah, and everyone has one because once again, it
• 8:22
goes till God knows. Like we got there like midnight, and Nigga wasn't
• 8:26
like you know, it wasn't even like Jamaican, so hey, you know
• 8:30
what it is, So it wasn't you're like, I mean, by the
• 8:33
time I left the first night, I didn't see any major acts. It
• 8:37
was still nothing but opening acts. I said, they don't come to like
• 8:39
three in the morning. Yeah. So the second night we had our chairs
• 8:43
and we was all good. And I saw all kind of cats that night.
• 8:46
So that was you know, that was so now that I know about
• 8:48
some fests, Oh yeah, if I went again, I'll just bring folding
• 8:52
chairs because you know, you got the trees. It's plentiful. It's beautiful.
• 8:56
So oh shout outs to two Rare two Rare set was really really funny.
• 8:58
They they they were on the smallest stage. You know, there was
• 9:01
three stages, you know, the big main stage like that's where Big Sean
• 9:03
and Future and all the muzz on. Then get the little middle stage where
• 9:07
you have people like that Mexican Ot. I liked his set. I liked
• 9:11
that Mexican Ot. I think that that NIGGI excuse me, he's not nigga,
• 9:16
but I think he could rapka and you know, people like that,
• 9:18
like Big Guest was there. But then the smallest stage, to call it
• 9:22
the Culture King stage. That's when you had like more of the up and
• 9:24
comers and they have the smallest amount of people there. They at mostly maybe
• 9:28
had fifty people there right, maybe a little bit more, but people were
• 9:31
into it and I and I wanted to see them, like I knew about
• 9:35
them. I just went over there and watched it and it was fun.
• 9:37
And that's why I'm like, that's the problem when the artists get bigger,
• 9:41
something like just forget to have fun sometimes and just extend that school was watching.
• 9:46
Who was whack? Yeah, well the thing the people who were whack.
• 9:52
I don't even think I was there for it, Like, you know,
• 9:54
there was somebody whack because you you you wouldn't give it a you know,
• 9:56
see, if there wasn't somebody, well I think like WoT like it
• 10:01
wasn't enough. Oh, let me back up. It was a big artist
• 10:07
who failed. So this is this is my problem. This maybe four weeks
• 10:13
ago, this didn't exist, but there there was. It's usually only three
• 10:16
days. They added a fourth day, which was Thursday, and I we
• 10:22
we moved our entire schedule to get there an extra day early. When I
• 10:26
say the time, schedule, flights, hotel, everything to C to c
• 10:31
O yay and tie dollar sign oh ship did they even show? What did?
• 10:39
Professor X said? Maybe not in the physical but men in the metal
• 10:43
physical And I say that to me, these niggas were kind of physically there,
• 10:50
and yes, their presence, their body was there. Got a question
• 10:54
your judgment for moving to CEA. Maybe I wanted to see it because she
• 11:01
liked the Vultures album. I liked the Voters album and I've heard it was
• 11:03
good. I just can't believe it. I don't think you should believe it.
• 11:07
I love music. I want to see that nigga live because, first
• 11:09
of all, the last few times I have been through Loud, he was
• 11:13
supposed to just be there naturally and like either didn't show up or show or
• 11:16
when somebody else said that, I wasn't even at So I was like,
• 11:18
no, I'm gonna see this right. Fuck it. And you know why
• 11:22
because it was quote unquote free because I have three a pass so it was
• 11:26
nothing extra have to do besides just be there. So I was just like,
• 11:30
fuck it, why not? So that's by the way I went about
• 11:33
it. But when I say these niggas did absolutely nothing, they gave nothing.
• 11:39
They literally did not perform. It was as if we were at a
• 11:43
listening party. They rolled them out to the time to build a whole new
• 11:48
stage, separate stage in the middle of every goddamn thing, just for him
• 11:52
and in time. And when I say they had on there all black in
• 11:56
the mask and did nothing, I saw as we I'll be sure it was
• 12:00
them because they actually took off his mask. Okay, So I was sorry,
• 12:03
fine, And that's funny because that was the one thing we said,
• 12:07
we said, that's not really them niggas, So that was the first thing
• 12:09
was mad about. Then, as I'm coming up, I'm listening to the
• 12:11
playback. I only hear playback. I don't hear feedback from the mics.
• 12:16
I don't hear voices echo wing, even people saying hey yo Roland, laud
• 12:20
la la la. I don't hear none of that. I just hear the
• 12:22
playback. So I'm like, maybe it's just me. As I'm getting closer,
• 12:26
it don't get no better. And as I get close enough to really
• 12:30
see these niggas, they are walking around in fucking circles, holding the mic
• 12:35
to their sides while smoke billows around them. There are thousands of people just
• 12:39
standing there looking dumbfounded for over an hour, and I literally stood there for
• 12:46
twenty minutes. They just played that. Now they played Voltures, was all
• 12:50
Voltures, but it was like a listening party without any type of performance.
• 12:54
I stood there for maybe fifteen twenty minutes and said, fuck this shit and
• 12:58
went over to the merch line because I was so fucking pissed. Then within
• 13:03
I don't know, twenty thirty more minutes, they was done, and then
• 13:05
their DJ started playing Kanye songs. Damn, I'm the saying people, I
• 13:13
want to know what them to see right now. No, so if you
• 13:16
want to talk about people who fucking just yeah, it's wasted my time.
• 13:20
Expected they're sorry, no shots, but yeah, pretty much expected at this
• 13:24
point in his career, wasting your time role said perform. That's why I
• 13:30
was just like, Okay, at least he's gonna yell a little bit,
• 13:31
and my nigga cadn't even give that decency to do that. I can't lie
• 13:35
like I like the drummer Freddy Gibbs, you know, because Jibbs chills it
• 13:39
and the hook is hilarious, hilarious. Ye yeah. But when he did
• 13:45
that listening party and North was on stage with him, but she's on the
• 13:48
song let me finish an these caroal blast lyrics, you know about all kinds
• 13:52
of shit. You know, it's just being art of the speakers. It's
• 13:58
like, I don't here. Kanye cannot wrap at all anymore like he is.
• 14:03
I was as but ass, like butt ass, like I'll never forget
• 14:09
what he called dropped. Father stretched my hands and I was sitting. We
• 14:15
talked about it on that other trouble you know, get real quick, and
• 14:18
I was the same thing. I told my boy, like this one of
• 14:20
the greatest songs I've ever heard. And then this nigga started rapping and it's
• 14:24
ever ever and this niggas started rapping ass, So I'm not That's why I
• 14:28
say I wasn't. I'm not even looking for Donda. But anyway, moving
• 14:31
on, Sorry they were not sorry, not sorry, Sorry I made that
• 14:37
mistake never again. Yeah, all right, now all some other real quick
• 14:41
pop culture news that popped off Beyonce. Ain't nobody finding it beyond you know,
• 14:48
I got to say that every time dropped. I guess this is the
• 14:52
cover or one of the covers for This is the cover of Cowboy Carter.
• 14:56
This is Act two of Renaissance. So this is the official this is the
• 14:58
cover. This is the cover for the album. There's gonna be another one
• 15:01
where she dressed up in the red, black and green. I don't know
• 15:05
it could be. First of all, this is Beyonce. She's gonna have
• 15:07
triple, quadruple quintumples drops that she wants. But this is this is the
• 15:13
for the album coming out in what nine days? So wow? Well,
• 15:18
yeah, she dropped a cover where she is dripped out, draped out in
• 15:22
the American flag. Yeah, she wearing red, white and blue and then
• 15:26
has a big ameriage she's holding big matter of fact, because it's reminists of
• 15:28
the rodeo. I already showed the pictures of a young black woman who is
• 15:33
at the rodeo. Yeah, you know how they walk in with the colors
• 15:37
and you know the color guard. As a Houstonian, you know who grew
• 15:41
up in you know, Houston, Texas in Third War Beyonce's neighborhood, and
• 15:46
you know, attended the rodeo multiple times. It is what it is,
• 15:48
you know, it's a big part of Houston. I still was like that
• 15:54
ship wat Yeah. I mean I can understand, especially as a black person
• 15:58
that that's not like Kennus owns, but especially as the black person in this
• 16:03
country, that you're gonna have a knee drink reaction to seeing that, Like
• 16:06
especially being Beyonce, you know, especially because she she represents this ideal for
• 16:11
a lot of people. And then it's just like, oh, but your
• 16:14
dripp out in American flag? My thing is this? I feel like this
• 16:15
There's so many different things going on. One obviously it's purposeful, right,
• 16:19
It could be in my head, it could be one of the ways to
• 16:22
interpret it. It could be a fuck you, a fuck you to everyone
• 16:25
who never, as she had said in her posts, are ig for it
• 16:30
that the people who did not let her make her feel welcome or and made
• 16:33
it clear that she wasn't welcome in quote unquote their space, which is really
• 16:37
our space because we made country music, right, we originated that shit,
• 16:41
so all music that too, but a fuck you right just to say,
• 16:45
look, you know I'm doing this shit. I'm taking this shit. She
• 16:48
has the number one on the Hot Country Singles Chart, you understand. And
• 16:52
I don't know how many weeks it's been or it's only been one week.
• 16:56
This like ther biggest song since this right, it's like her second biggest song
• 17:03
ever. It might be her biggest song ever. Now. Also from that
• 17:06
caption of sheet that I just quoted, people were saying, yo, that's
• 17:10
a reference to what happened at the CMT Awards years back when she did the
• 17:15
song with the Chicks and there was all that ah from people talking about,
• 17:19
oh, she not country and she shouldn't have been there, and also them
• 17:22
people also didn't like the chicks too so because they didn't like them talking about
• 17:25
George Bush and all the other stuff. So they was just mad at the
• 17:27
whole situation. And as I said, a black woman sitting there doing country,
• 17:32
so for her in one way, of interpretation is look, I am
• 17:37
this, I am America, I am everything. And I even love what
• 17:41
she said. She went on, she said, this is not a country
• 17:44
album. This is a Beyonce album. Do you know what kind of bit
• 17:48
you have to be to be your own fucking genre? Okay, and that's
• 17:52
what I fucking love about, like the audacity because she can't because she does
• 17:56
and she did, and that's fine. Also just from general aesthetics, like
• 18:03
you want to look at a very surface level, she's a she's a cowboy
• 18:06
Carter. Okay, what if cowboy cowboy is one of the greatest American exports
• 18:10
and that that's that's even to this day they see a cowboy overseas, you
• 18:14
think that must be an American. That's what America stands for. So of
• 18:17
course the fucking flag is going to be there. On that note, real
• 18:19
quick shout out to d Chic a Leo who always used to point out on
• 18:23
Fall Nerds, this is true facts more than one in three cowboys for black
• 18:29
more than one in three. So like, yeah, completely racier. So
• 18:33
that's a cowboy card. I really like that title for that. Yeah,
• 18:37
and that shit goes hard and like and again it's kind of surface also obviously,
• 18:42
like like I said, it's fuck you, and also to piss people
• 18:45
off and also to start the discourse because obviously there's gonna be people both who
• 18:48
are fans and or not fans, who are going to feel a way about
• 18:52
it, like why would you stand behind a flag? And this, that
• 18:55
and that. But my thing is like we also it's it's a double assed
• 18:57
sword because for example, and we have our athletes and they're about to be
• 19:00
in the Olympics over in France. When you have our athletes and they represent
• 19:04
in America and win for America more often than not, what is behind them?
• 19:07
What do they wave in the American flag? You understand? And that
• 19:11
doesn't take necessarily take away how they feel about black people or black liberation,
• 19:15
if they're even a black liberation type person. It's just that it's this dichotomy
• 19:21
that we're dealing with. And she is like the epitome of that. She's
• 19:23
has platinum blonde hair on a platinum blond horse with a big as American flag
• 19:30
as if she's in the you know, opening a rodeo with the color guard.
• 19:36
Yeah, and I have my reservations. And then you know about Beyonce's
• 19:40
politics, I guess, But like, musically, I just think Beyonce is
• 19:44
one of the greatest artists ever, you know, and like the Michael Jackson
• 19:48
of our time, you know, whatever you want to call it. Yeah,
• 19:49
Like she's just one of the greatest things ever. So because of that,
• 19:53
I really don't have much to say, you know, about what her
• 19:56
politics is. I really just don't. I mean, I would like her
• 19:59
to be like someone pointed out that, you know, she's never really said
• 20:06
anything about Pilesti, and she's never said anything about Haiti, about anything pretty
• 20:11
much. She know, Beyonce plays are very safe. That's that may be
• 20:15
true, but she also the money goes too, Like the money goes where
• 20:18
it goes, like that is one thing that has never that is undeniable.
• 20:22
She puts the money out there, like I understand. And it's so interesting
• 20:26
because people take people like Beyonce the task and I and I think it's it's
• 20:30
rightful to do that. Like you say, well, you got the platform,
• 20:32
da da da, but you also can dictate how people use their platform.
• 20:36
She may not say anything about it in the way you want her to,
• 20:38
but she's also she's the capitalist at the end of the day, she's
• 20:42
using that capital to make shit happen for her people. So that's the way
• 20:47
she does it, then that's the way she does it. Yeah, and
• 20:49
I do do that. I mean, she has definitely empowered so many different
• 20:52
black people over the years, you know, put man money into all kinds
• 20:55
of people's pockets, et cetera, et cetera. And money is one thing.
• 20:57
But I also someone who says, use your voice when you have it,
• 21:00
So that's true. Yeah, it's just you know, you know,
• 21:03
but but she and again you could you could argue about how deep she could
• 21:07
have gone or didn't go when she talks about black people or other issues.
• 21:12
But you know, she she she rides as far as from what I've seen
• 21:17
her action, she ride for black people, Yes, and her music is
• 21:21
for black people. And also I'm really proud of her for reclaiming a lot
• 21:25
of themes. Like I said, the next thing she needs to do for
• 21:26
part three is make a rock album. I think that's that's everyone's speculation that
• 21:30
that's coming next, and I really hope so, because I want her to
• 21:33
reunite with Jack White and go crazy cool, fucking crazy Jack White. No,
• 21:40
no, no, fuck him there's too many other black people. Yeah,
• 21:44
I don't need I don't need Jack Wright on that album. Yourself like
• 21:47
that very hard? Yeah, I know, but there's so many other people
• 21:51
who could do it better than Jack White is I mean, I like Jack
• 21:53
White too, But no, I guess it's not mutually exclusive. You can
• 21:56
have both. Me saying Jack did not mean I w wasn't think of I
• 22:00
know other black persons. That's a given. I mean, niggas name is.
• 22:03
Jack White likes this album, this album, he already had this chan
• 22:10
That's what I'm saying, all up and down the country album too. What
• 22:12
do you mean? And I'll think about about saying he rolled around with Dave
• 22:15
Chapellele's talk about John Mayer. You don't confuse your white boys, bro.
• 22:22
I mean they both play guitar, you know, and are both like somewhat
• 22:26
talented. But you know there's also like you know, grig So of course.
• 22:32
But no, you're gonna you're gonna see some incredible and I really hope
• 22:37
that she has some up and coming country like black country artists. What we
• 22:41
still going back to Hogway Carter. I really hope, like I think it's
• 22:45
too late for her, but I want to see Tanner Adell do something with
• 22:48
her. I love I love that girl. She's so fucking lit and it's
• 22:52
a lot of like others that I hope that they made it to the album.
• 22:55
So you think Toby is gonna be on the joint? Why I don't
• 23:00
know that. No, Look to me, that's another one. You know
• 23:03
me. I'm one of the biggest Toby fans, But lately his choices have
• 23:06
been like country person. Damn you love this money, don't you like?
• 23:08
You know? That's my well? I mean he's getting listen, he he
• 23:11
he got in, he got it? Does say no, Claire want to
• 23:19
do a collapse? I gotta say some things. You got all bags ain't
• 23:23
good? Bad. Shout out to Cameron he said that today. You know,
• 23:27
but he got six kids, five or six kids, maybe eight,
• 23:30
Who fucking knows? He got kids? Fat fat every five seconds, every
• 23:37
five seconds, boy, you got kids, damn it. Boys. Shout
• 23:40
out to my brother who I'm not going to put their name out there right
• 23:44
now, but they told me that this is how Hollywood get you every time.
• 23:45
Is that the first thing they asked you is what's up with your kids?
• 23:49
He's like, that's the first thing they asked you once you start opening
• 23:53
doors was like, oh, so are you married kids? Listen. There's
• 23:56
a lot of questionable things going on with the the personal life and stuff like
• 24:00
that. But I will say his family is always there. His family is
• 24:03
always with him whatever he's doing, they're there nine times out of ten,
• 24:08
like a brand point. So yeah, that's his brand. But even from
• 24:11
the beginning it was like that. It wasn't like he tried the kids out
• 24:15
after the fact, like he started with them there. You know me,
• 24:18
I've been you know, you know, like this is like from day the
• 24:23
first time I heard this, I was like, this is the correct however
• 24:29
questionable choices and listen, at the end of the day, are you a
• 24:33
capitalist or nah? I've always been. You know, I don't know where
• 24:37
I'm fall on that spectrum because I like, I love Oh, he's just
• 24:41
pure, pre pure on, no question about it. Me. You know,
• 24:45
I love the dough. But it's like I don't love the dough like
• 24:48
that. I just don't care about Montclair. If Louis came to you,
• 24:53
said Ben, I want oh god, no, no, no, I
• 24:56
gotta I mean, but doesn't run man like he said, Well, but
• 25:02
don't they like, weren't they like part of slavery? You know, everything,
• 25:06
everything everything evil? They did it right, everything was part of somehow
• 25:12
whatever. I really like Montclair now that you know, I've never had one
• 25:18
of their jackets, and I always wanted, like, I don't know,
• 25:22
I don't know, but the jacket show is okay. I mean, you
• 25:25
put my name on a Montclair, like, come on, I might have
• 25:29
you blame him now you're not blaming him so much. I don't blame Toby
• 25:32
Free. He's made a lot of great music, you know what I mean.
• 25:33
So, like I said, like, just like we all saying,
• 25:36
I'm you know, their politics might suck to me, but I don't expect
• 25:40
much more. Toby is more disappointing because I do expect a little more from
• 25:44
him. You know why. I know, because said from the day one.
• 25:48
Because yeah, because he's saying good ship now saying but from day one,
• 25:52
he's also said I'm going to make as much money as possible. He
• 25:55
never heard that. Nothing's changed, So nothing changed. Don't be surprised.
• 26:00
I shouldn't be. It's my fault, just like I'm not surprised about this
• 26:03
nets news right here, not at all. Oh god, so I was
• 26:10
the Internet capitalism. I was the Internet and your friend Jonathan Mage's is it
• 26:17
hot water? Once again? What's he got into this? What happened this
• 26:23
week on Dragon Ball? This nigga? He's been now sued by Grace Stabari
• 26:30
for alleged assault, battery and defamation. Now, if you remember that that
• 26:34
the trial that happened before that was raised by the d A right, if
• 26:37
I'm not mistaken, and he he was convicted of misdemeanors to be specific.
• 26:45
But now she's come back and this is now because this is now civil because
• 26:48
when you're assume people, you're talking about money at this point. But but
• 26:51
for alleged battery, alleged assault, battery and defamation, nigga, nobody knew
• 26:56
who you were. How can he defame you? Stop? But as you
• 27:00
said, from incidents dating between twenty twenty one and twenty twenty three, twenty
• 27:03
twenty three is when everything popped off. Yes, different information started. Because
• 27:08
it didn't it became public and you know he's election three became me the docket.
• 27:14
I can't tell you specifically what they're pointing to, but she did say
• 27:18
twenty twenty one, twenty twenty three, and she was a public name by
• 27:21
that point. So in twenty twenty one, maybe twenty twenty two, I
• 27:26
don't know how long, maybe twenty All I know is remember everything was really
• 27:30
want to head last year, right, twenty twenty three was last year.
• 27:33
So regardless, I'm not question about where this came from. That's what she
• 27:37
wanted to do. I'm not questioning either came from this money, whatever she
• 27:42
want to do. Okay, Uh, it was I the man is going
• 27:48
to get sentenced next month for the trial that he was convicted of back in
• 27:52
the December. Damn, it just felt like it was just yesterday. And
• 27:59
you know, during this she's just talking about how like all the times where
• 28:00
he was angry and you know, putting his hands on her, wow,
• 28:04
and being controlling, emotional abuse, all that stuff. And I thought this
• 28:11
was so interesting, this last line in this article. They were like,
• 28:14
though his acting career has taken a turn following his conviction, he recently attended
• 28:18
the NAACP Wars last weekend with his girlfriend making good they're still going strong.
• 28:25
Yeah, huh, shout out to Megan. I mean, yeah, I
• 28:32
mean, you know, I mean I wouldn't go that far, but you
• 28:34
know. It's just like she definitely has held him down after the convention,
• 28:38
which was something that I did not expect. Honestly, if I drawn for
• 28:42
the beat, I would have said that's that would have been a wrap shortly
• 28:45
after no more public appearances. Well, considering they started publicly dating during the
• 28:52
fires, I wouldn't expect anything less like why wouldn't you stick with him?
• 28:56
You as soon as he was in the ship, that's when she appeared,
• 29:00
So I guess she like fuck it. Now I got to ride this till
• 29:03
he comes back. Like bitcoin. Listen, I'm going to talk about just
• 29:07
just related to get reminded me. Shout out to Dustin Ross congratulations because actually
• 29:14
when I was coming back from LA, I ran into Dustin and the airport
• 29:18
look at Dustin. Yes, of the friend zone, but my boy,
• 29:22
I don't know what's going on. I ran into him. He was actually
• 29:26
also coming back from LA because he attended the NAACP Awards. He won the
• 29:33
award with him and Ebanie K. Williams for their podcast. So yes,
• 29:37
I wanted to congrat so I could, you know, congratulate him person.
• 29:40
But congratulations Dustin. You know we love you, and it was very nice
• 29:45
it's been a minute. Yeah, birthday to Sean Price. No, I
• 29:52
mean Sean Priceville. But yes, I saw your post about Sean Price.
• 29:57
But yeah, stappy birthday to Hey. Hey, I know it was a
• 30:00
few days ago, but happy birthday, Happy birthday to Searan Prices. With
• 30:04
all the pisces in the house, can how we do? But yeah,
• 30:11
okays, I just wanted to talk about something more like, okay, well
• 30:15
you know a little about positive news before we take this quick break. Make
• 30:18
sure I wanted. Well, let me first of all, let me thank
• 30:22
everyone because we have been running this special promotion with Anyone Comics where you can
• 30:26
get a signed copy of Jimmy Hendrix Purple Haze. You can still get it.
• 30:33
Pre orders are still up and pre orders have been through the roof.
• 30:37
So I just really really want to thank y'all because I noticed it the cheapest
• 30:41
comic book you could cop. You know, it's well worth it. Today
• 30:47
I actually got the pretty much finalized PDF of the book, and so this
• 30:53
is my first time getting to see it all together, you know, colored
• 30:57
lettered everything. I mean, intro pages, outro pages, there's like script
• 31:03
to story pages with my script pages in there. One of my favorite characters,
• 31:08
has some back art, some behind the scenes art from Tom Mandrake.
• 31:14
He's got a bunch of other just development art in the book. There's all
• 31:18
this behind the scenes matter in the book that you get along with this great,
• 31:22
you know, story and graphic novel that you're coffin. So this is
• 31:26
my first time seeing any of this shit. I didn't know what was actually
• 31:29
making it into the book. Honestly, I had no clue. I knew
• 31:32
there should be some script to art pages and shit, but I just didn't
• 31:34
know what they were putting in there. So this is my first time seeing
• 31:37
everything. The format is really beautiful, I mean everything about it. I
• 31:41
got to see how the cover is laid out, just everything. It's a
• 31:44
really it should be a really really beautiful book, you know, like I
• 31:48
can't imagine shout out to Justin Prokovich to I shout out Tom all the time.
• 31:52
And this is the first time I got to see Justin's colors in full
• 31:56
color. Just everything that that man did, and they absolutely destroyed it,
• 32:00
like they just they they it's the color. Like coloring is such an underappreciated
• 32:06
job in comics because it really it makes you. It's how it leads your
• 32:12
eye. It does a lot of work that people don't understand, you know,
• 32:15
and so you have to be at a balance all these things with like,
• 32:20
Okay, the character is dressing a purple coat like Jimmy is in some
• 32:23
scenes, So how do I balance that with the backgrounds and this and that?
• 32:27
And then how do I keep it to a palette that everyone can fuck
• 32:30
with and them have matching colors, you know, and color theory and all
• 32:35
these type of things. So shout out to Justin because they're just some absolutely
• 32:39
beautiful colors in this book. Tom and Drake I talk about all the time.
• 32:44
He's just a god. And then, you know, this is my
• 32:47
first day when I've really read it beginning to end, you know, like
• 32:51
you're gonna get to read it, and I was pretty pleased. That's an
• 32:57
understatement of the year. I'm mad critical on myself, y'all. And it's
• 33:00
like there's a lot of concepts and ideas in this book that I've really hope,
• 33:05
you know, they're in my head and I know what I was trying
• 33:07
to say, but I'm not sure if it got to the page like I
• 33:10
wanted to be said. And that's probably just something I'm always going to wonder
• 33:13
about until people start reading it and I get to hear what people think,
• 33:16
so you know, we'll see. But there's a lot of this stuff that
• 33:21
I'm very impressed with. I've said that many a time, you know,
• 33:23
like, I really could think that me and Mellow have created something super special.
• 33:28
I was on Twitter today like, yo, I could see this as
• 33:30
an animated movie or a series. There's a When you read this story,
• 33:36
it's a complete story in of itself, but there's a huge universe that we've
• 33:39
created for this graphic novel. So I really hope to explore more stories in
• 33:45
this universe because I think people are gonna want more stories in this universe.
• 33:50
When you read it, you're gonna be like, yo, but what about
• 33:51
this character and what are they doing now? Because we tell some complete stories
• 33:54
with these characters. And there's Hindreds, there's Vesper and Rainer, two sisters
• 34:00
who are just two of my favorite characters that I've ever created. I'm fully
• 34:04
in love with these two sisters, and I really want to tell more stories
• 34:07
about them. So once again, thank you all, but please everyone go
• 34:10
out and pre order Jimmy Hendrix Purple Hayes. The link is always in my
• 34:15
bio the at DJ Ben, I mean, on all social medias. You
• 34:19
can hit up anyone comments, you can go direct to their website. Type
• 34:22
in Jimmy Hendrix Purple Haze and it comes right up and you can pre order
• 34:27
it. Where I'm signing them all and it looks like this is exclusive breaking
• 34:31
news right here. We're doing something special with Tom Mandrake with Yes, we
• 34:37
might have like a book plate which is like an inserted illustration that will be
• 34:42
in each one, so it'll be like numbered type shit. So there's gonna
• 34:45
be some real exclusive shit, and all of them are just certain, all
• 34:49
the ones that are come from anyone comments from this signed orders, all these
• 34:53
signed orders are going to have some special stuff with Tom Mandrake in it,
• 34:58
and we're trying to do some other things. I'll be announcing that actual signing.
• 35:02
We're probably gonna do a signing the night of I want to say,
• 35:06
July thirty first at Anyone Comics. So if you haven't got a preorder,
• 35:10
you just want to come and meet me, you know, we'll be doing
• 35:13
that, and we're gonna have another little like a book release party somewhere else
• 35:17
in Brooklyn around that same time, so I'll talk about more of that is
• 35:21
you know, we get a little closer to let me find out, man,
• 35:23
we do it a big you know, it's gonna be at San Diego
• 35:27
Comic Con, New York Comic Con. I'm about to buy my tickets for
• 35:30
to get to Atlanta. I'll be at Dragon Con once again. I'll say
• 35:36
this, if you have a come up with store anywhere in the world that
• 35:39
you fuck with that are fucking with Hindricks and we can get some books sold
• 35:44
out of there, let me know and I will come through there and do
• 35:46
a signing. I'm looking to travel and be everywhere. And also shout out
• 35:51
to everybody's podcasts who I've jumped on in last week. Shout out to my
• 35:53
man Pshawan who got the Marvel Snap podcast. I was on there talking about
• 35:58
Hendrix and all kind of stuff. He has a really great show. I
• 36:00
really enjoyed that, really great questions. Shout out to the Backlook podcast.
• 36:06
We talked about Transformers the movie. That was an amazing podcast. Shout out
• 36:09
to Zoe just a great time talk about that movie. I mean we we
• 36:13
got in depth on Transformers the movie and it was really great. Plus he
• 36:16
talked Hendricks cue yeah, fucking I feel like I'm missing one other. Oh
• 36:22
shout out to American Collins and drumk Black History a few weeks back, and
• 36:28
did that joint, talked Hendrix. We I mean, we basically did the
• 36:30
whole episode about Jimmy the actual real life person, and then we also talked
• 36:36
about the comic. And I'm doing a couple more. But if you have
• 36:39
any podcasts, I don't care how many listeners you got, I don't care
• 36:43
what the subject is about. Hit me up at djbit. I mean,
• 36:46
I'll jump on there as long as I can talk to someone Hendrix. I'll
• 36:50
talk about whatever else you want to talk about. Oh yeah, me and
• 36:52
you did a joint. I guess we just did a We did a joint
• 36:58
where we talked rap Ruler. We talked about the rat Ruler, my friend
• 37:01
the rap Ruler, but we talked about or I'll say it, we talked
• 37:06
about college dropouts. So basically it's uh, it's really he has a really
• 37:09
great podcast. So it's a podcast where he actually has a very special system
• 37:15
where he his guest rate album classic album specifically, So like we going through
• 37:20
things like flow composition, sequencing of the album. You know, just just
• 37:25
all the like really detailed approaches to to rating and and doing an album like
• 37:34
not a recap, but I'm trying to say like a review, like really
• 37:37
getting not too much in the weeds, but like in the weeds that matter,
• 37:39
if that makes sense. So honestly, don't mean and I had such
• 37:44
a great time enough that we didn't technically didn't finish, so like we it's
• 37:47
kind of a part one, so we probably got to come back at some
• 37:50
point and do a part too, because we only like half the qualification.
• 37:54
So yeah, because we said a lot, but it was It's really fun.
• 38:00
We had a good time. I think it's entertaining. We're always entertaining
• 38:04
anyway. It was funny and so we'll definitely get you all the links when
• 38:07
that show drops, real post about it all that stuff. Yeah, definitely
• 38:12
a great time on that And like like we both said, we're always willing
• 38:15
to guest on shows, but right now, I'm just looking to do every
• 38:17
show possible, So please hit me up anytime at DJ Ben, I mean,
• 38:22
and we'll work it out. I already got one. I'm actually fucked
• 38:25
around and missed my brother's show today. Like I said, this contract with
• 38:29
the Grid but all kinds of shit. So yeah, but we already get
• 38:31
set it up for another time, so you know, shout out to that
• 38:34
brother. You know I will be there, I promise you, because I
• 38:36
really want to do that show too. He got a really dope concept for
• 38:38
his podcast, something about Wednesdays. I can't remember the goddamn main though,
• 38:43
but when I do it, I will make sure to let y'all know.
• 38:45
Okay, all right, And with that, we're gonna take a quick break
• 38:50
and we will be right back to talk about X Men ninety seven. This
• 38:55
is Elon Chatman, I played Jallon on Kung Fu's c W. When I'm
• 39:00
not on set, I am listening to for all nerds. This is when
• 39:05
I'm not busy doing the acting thing, the writing, drawing, illustrated.
• 39:09
I'm listening to for all nerves. This is Shannon Houston, writer on HBO's

• 40:38
in store for you. He yo. X Men ninety seven seven cha turned
• 40:46
yeah, yeah, yeah, how do you feel better? I mean,
• 40:49
you've seen like really hype. But then also you were confusing a lot of
• 40:52
people because I know I was. You know, you put a gift of
• 40:54
visiting man crying, and yeah, if people know what that gift was really
• 41:00
supposed to be for then they were like, I think they would have known.
• 41:02
I think it was happy tears. But yes, we're very trying about
• 41:07
the greatness of someone, you know, and I know people were very scared,
• 41:10
and I get it, and I think that was my intention, you
• 41:13
know, because I went in a little confusion. I wanted to make sure
• 41:15
people weren't, you know, knowing exactly how I was feeling. Yeah,
• 41:17
I put the smiling emoji with like like the whole teeth jone light. Yeah
• 41:22
you were. You were much more intentional. Yeah, I was. No,
• 41:24
this ship was it's hot fire. My one reservation because I've been rewatching
• 41:31
the whole original X Men right before this, and so my reservation came when
• 41:37
I first saw the trailers and stuff. Was the change in animation style.
• 41:42
That was my one reservation. And at first I was like, I don't
• 41:44
know, because it looked it just looked too clean and too dope, honestly,
• 41:46
you know, comparatively to the old ship. Well comparedly, the other
• 41:50
ship was in like ninety seven, so it's like, yeah, it was
• 41:52
like thirty years ago, so so the the animation available, the bailable techniques
• 42:00
and technology was not there. So no, but that was just my reservation
• 42:05
because I was used to the old one, you know, and I saw
• 42:07
some other people saying that. Then again, once I watched it, that
• 42:09
faded away instantly. That reservation without the window that you know, the ship
• 42:14
was fucking beautiful. I'm mad they took away roads, pickments like. I
• 42:17
can't say that. I'm quite one of those guys. I'm one of those
• 42:21
guys. Look Rogue, I got a brogus disappointed. Look, Brogan is
• 42:24
one of my favorite family, you know what I mean, like and it
• 42:28
and it was okay. The thing is, I always thought that it was
• 42:30
just that one shot, you know, the famous shot of her fetes that
• 42:32
I thought that was, you know, the only one. But no,
• 42:36
when you watch the retinal series Doll, she is super thick in every shot.
• 42:38
It's ridiculous. So I do understand. Yeah, no, but it
• 42:44
was like Rogue was thick. Okay, but did that did turn your time?
• 42:49
No? That was just a quick mention. I'm just saying, do
• 42:51
you know Rogue was thick and now she ain't. It's just like how mad
• 42:53
Nito was old and now he is aaddy, you know, like they gave
• 42:57
enough love. He looked like the least of a hair band. That man
• 43:01
looks like Fabio with you know, Fabio gone gray is what man looked in
• 43:07
this joint. He is pure daddy. I don't know what you're talking about.
• 43:09
I don't well, I'm not There was pure S and M in that
• 43:15
third episode. There was a lot going on with but I'm not use you
• 43:22
as a toy was the line said. She said that to him that to
• 43:28
listen, fine, whatever, I'm not checked to the mand so but what
• 43:35
I have I'm always Eric. This is a side note, like it was
• 43:40
interesting to see this character designed him because we you know, recently, we
• 43:44
were at somewhat recently when we were at New York Comic Con, whereas that
• 43:46
guy that did an amazing cosplay Magneto with the long hair, and he had
• 43:51
his hair in the ponytail at first and he had it down, so it
• 43:53
was just a nice precursor to see that he was wearing a classic suit though,
• 43:57
but he had the long hair, the long hair rock God Magneto.
• 44:00
So that's how you felt about it. When I first got into it,
• 44:05
I was just like, what the fuck is this? Like it just felt
• 44:08
and I was because I did not go back and watch the old episodes,
• 44:15
right, I just went straight off of memory and vibes, So your memories
• 44:19
and vibes are probably lying to you. I will say that too. I
• 44:22
think, actually what it is, Remember, I'm very very young watching this
• 44:27
stuff, like too young, it would probably be watching and understanding half of
• 44:29
stuff. And when I was talking to you, like when maybe weeks back,
• 44:32
months back, when I was talking to you about how I loved all
• 44:36
this and the melodramatics and dah lah blah blah and it's a story for kids,
• 44:38
you know your stories, and you were and you were actually usually the
• 44:42
word melogimac. You were like, yo, that's just wild melodramac. You
• 44:45
didn't realize how extra it was, And apparently I didn't. I just I
• 44:50
just remember loving it because when this Shay came and let me tell y'all X
• 44:53
in ninety seven, it is true to form when it comes to oh my
• 44:55
god, that that don't the tonality is spot on. But when I when
• 45:02
it opened, I said, this shit is weird, and I was like,
• 45:07
what, it's a horny Wait a minute, wait a minute. This
• 45:13
was the original show and that's what I mean. Well, and I guess
• 45:15
that's what you're right, were I says, my memories and vibes relying to
• 45:17
me, because I don't remember it being like that exactly. Like that was
• 45:24
because then when I saw some older clips from the original series, I was
• 45:27
just like, oh, yeah, it is say that right. So so
• 45:30
so after that shock, like I said, and again, this is this
• 45:35
is kid me me versus adult me just coming to terms with each other.
• 45:38
And after that initial shock, war off and I said, Tatiana, put
• 45:42
yourself now in the visage of this is in the this is from a nineties
• 45:45
tone in perspective, this is this version of them. This is not is
• 45:50
written purposefully to emulate a lot of that feeling and approach. And once I
• 45:55
linked that in my head, I said, okay, bet. From that
• 45:58
point on I had a great and again this this this this dire tribe and
• 46:01
this this struggle I have it myself. Happened in the first episode, like
• 46:06
yeah, the first maybe ten to fifteen minutes, I was like, what
• 46:07
the fuck's going on? And then I said, oh yeah, I said,
• 46:10
oh, kid Tati calm down, not kid Tati, but though Tati
• 46:15
calm down. This is this is what kid Tati couldn't translate back in the
• 46:17
day. And this is this is what it really was. And the other
• 46:21
thing about it is like having just rewatched the whole joint. You know,
• 46:24
for the majority, I did not finish the last season, but then I
• 46:28
did watch the very last episode just so I could see how it ended and
• 46:31
see where this was coming from. First of all, for everybody who hasn't
• 46:35
known or hasn't watched a YouTube video, catching you up, ninety seven pretty
• 46:38
much takes place like the day after the last episode ends, maybe a few
• 46:42
days weeks later, day after tomorrow. Yeah, it's very short. And
• 46:46
in the end of the last season, Professor edg does get shot, as
• 46:51
we see in the beginning of this, and he's yeah, he's cookies right
• 46:55
now. And I don't want to spoil, you know, exactly what happened
• 47:00
to Profess Edge, but to the public and the world at large, he's
• 47:04
dead. So it's pretty much continuing. And like you said, the tone
• 47:08
is straight up purely where I feel like they even turned it up a little
• 47:14
bit more. Now I can turn it up. No, no, no,
• 47:15
that's that's untrue, because like I told you, Sothanna, when I
• 47:17
was rewatching this ship, I'll say, yo, this ship is outrageous,
• 47:21
Like no, the way this nigga moobring was crying over just Gane, I
• 47:25
need you too. It was so ridiculous. Didn't it didn't read us outrageous?
• 47:30
But yes, you're right, they did not turn it up. They
• 47:34
might have tuned it down. And I say this people listening, as long
• 47:37
as you go in with that understanding, yo, they are writing this and
• 47:40
approaching it as the nineties version, then is going to make sense. If
• 47:45
you come there thinking on some two thousands and later, shit, you got
• 47:49
the wrong idea. And I think and what I'm saying people, and I
• 47:52
can see that because people think ninety seven, they think today's level or style
• 47:55
of writing. I went with new and with animation, with with with the
• 48:00
old catches. I'm like, that's not what it is. I don't.
• 48:02
  I don't. I don't want to say that I disagree, but I don't
• 48:06
think that it's okay. I think, hm, let me see how I
• 48:09
put this right, Okay, I don't. I don't want to say that
• 48:13
this that this isn't modern style of writing. I think it's very modern style
• 48:17
of writing. I think that what people are forgetting, That's what I'm saying.
• 48:22
I don't think people Once again, I think people's memories of the old
• 48:24
show are just different than what it was because the old show is very modern.
• 48:29
It was one of the first shows that had a continuing story orc at
• 48:32
least an animation, you know, where it was like things happen like Professor
• 48:36
Retz and Manito spent a whole season in the Savage Land, and every episode
• 48:39
we just have a bit of their story. How the main story is happening,
• 48:44
Yeah, continuity, And it ended like I said, and the continuity
• 48:47
continued into this. But the melodramaticness of it is just like that's kind of
• 48:55
baked into the X Men. You know. The X Men are very dramatic
• 49:00
from the comics. They're very wordy, They're very much you know, people
• 49:04
who always talk about their feelings and they're always stressed about being mutan. That's
• 49:07
just part of the shit. So and I think the way these stories are
• 49:12
told is very well done, Like in a modern fact is well I'm gonna
• 49:16
okay, so I'm gonna rephrase a little bit. Maybe not modern. It's
• 49:20
not written from a con It has contemporary influence, but it's more more one
• 49:29
hundred, it's more deeply informed by the tone of the nineties show. It's
• 49:35
more much to me, it's much more deeply informed by that. Yes,
• 49:38
it has the trappings of we're in twenty twenty four, so the people are
• 49:43
gonna be the people who are writing are informed by their experiences in twenty twenty
• 49:45
four. Yet so clearly there's an updates there. So maybe modern is not
• 49:49
the word, but it's not a contemporary feeling. It's not something that's based
• 49:53
that was written. That's something that's based in this time. It's very firmly
• 49:58
nineties. Yes, so I just want to make that But but that being
• 50:01
said, now that we agree, I just want to make that distinction to
• 50:04
people because I can see people because like I did, going to this the
• 50:07
wrong way and something is something else. I'm like, no, And I
• 50:10
think the thing is I think once that's going back to that your memories are
• 50:15
lying to you. I think a lot of people are gonna come into this
• 50:16
and think it's something that it isn't because their memories told them that this X
• 50:22
Men show in the back of the day it was the greatest written thing ever
• 50:24
with It wasn't. It never was, And that's why I got like,
• 50:30
again, it was a hot second, when when the episode started, I
• 50:34
was like, Yo, what the fuck is going on? What are they
• 50:36
talking about? And why are they talking like that? But then I was
• 50:38
like, oh, wait, wait, wait, no, it was one.
• 50:42
It was always ridiculously overly melodramatic, but it was just like any show.
• 50:46
There were some good episodes and there were some bad ones, and there
• 50:50
was a lot of bad ones, honestly, and then there's a lot of
• 50:52
good ones. And when they were on like a particular story art, they
• 50:55
did great translations. I thought that was another thing they carried over to this
• 50:59
because they translated very quickly. A lot of Inferno the trials, Yeah,
• 51:07
it's the Trial of Magneto is pretty much the first episode Inferno, not Inferno
• 51:12
really, but parts of Inferno. The third episode two okay, yeah,
• 51:16
the first episode is more just the intro interest, the intro and catch you
• 51:21
up to everything, and then the second is the trial of Magneto, and
• 51:22
the third is a bit of Inferno, but just a lot of history of
• 51:28
Jean Gray and maddenon Pryor compressed very well. I thought, fucking excellence.
• 51:35
And I will say that that this is actually really well done. Like once
• 51:38
I said, once you realize what's going on. It's actually compelling, and
• 51:44
the show got better to me, like it. You know, typically you
• 51:47
want the pilot episode to be the strongest, but it wasn't. Not for
• 51:51
me anyway. The strongest to me was two and three, right, so,
• 51:55
and that I guess that's that's a good thing because then I get that
• 51:59
draws you deeper into the story. And then I was like, okay,
• 52:01
this is more along the lines of what my memory was saying was, Yo,
• 52:05
it's still great stories. It's still giving me soaps, it's still giving
• 52:09
drama. And I fucked with that. And and again we'll stick with episode
• 52:15
one right now. But like that look and feel from the original series,
• 52:19
like, did you feel like they did a great job paying on mid You
• 52:22
think that? And there are updates there as well and new things that they
• 52:27
approached. How do you feel about that? I think it's great. Like
• 52:30
I said, that was one of my big reservations was the style of animation
• 52:34
that they chose for it. But then just starting with you know, we'll
• 52:37
do this episode by episode, and starting with episode one first, there's the
• 52:42
Marvel Animation slate where they show you know, it's like the old you know,
• 52:45
the Marvel red but now says Marvel Animation. And in the background there's
• 52:49
animation from Amazing Spider Man and his Amazing friends on down the line I think
• 52:54
even earlier than that, to all the way up to their latest what If
• 52:58
stuff. So it was, you know, dope little intro and then the
• 53:01
music hit did and as soon as the music hit, then you know,
• 53:04
it's that path off dog. Yeah, the dog responds. I'm like hey,
• 53:07
and then they have the opening, you know, Storm and Rogue flying
• 53:13
outside of the Blackbird and the logo flipping them. Yeah. I'm like,
• 53:19
okay, they kept the intro, they kept the music right, but then
• 53:22
I'm noticing the changing animation. I see Storm got the mohawk and she's flying
• 53:24
around, and then they do the little intro shots and I'm like, oh,
• 53:30
this is dope, because yeah, but they're just updated animation. It's
• 53:34
all the same moves and everything, Yeah, just cleaner, and it's all
• 53:37
dope. And then Bishop's added in the beginning and MorphOS added in, so
• 53:40
I'm like, okay, that's dope, so dope, and then so right
• 53:45
away I'm pretty much feeling it. And then the Friends in Humanity showed up
• 53:47
and i've been if you watched the first one, they are I didn't realize
• 53:52
how heavy they were because said heavy. Oh they were heavy in the first
• 53:58
series. Oh they were like when they showed up in the comics was kind
• 54:02
of the time I stopped reading comics for especially Edgemond for a second. So
• 54:06
I didn't give a shit about them. Honestly, I always thought the Friends
• 54:07
of Humanity because there's always some niggas who hate mutants, and I just thought
• 54:12
the Friends of Humanity was a corny name. And it's even more hilarious now
• 54:15
because now just was like, fuck out out of here. And it's like
• 54:17
they just run around saying fuck out of here to everyone. And it's even
• 54:21
funnier because like they are saying fuck out of here to the mutants. They
• 54:23
are so like fits, fits perfectly. But I just never gave a shit
• 54:28
about them. I never gave a shit about grating Creed, who is saber
• 54:30
to Son and the leader of them. I just never gave about anything.
• 54:35
Out of here. It's still whack. There's still ninety seven series are still
• 54:38
whack. They got the whole mega man guns on their arm. This shit
• 54:43
was funny. But I was super happy to see Roberto da Costa not in
• 54:49
brown I would like him to be, but you know, the accent was
• 54:52
heavy, you know, the brownskin, the curly hair was there. And
• 54:55
he's not the super confident Roberto da Costa of later years. He is still
• 55:00
super young, super green, but still had to fly. Yeah, let
• 55:05
you know, let Shorty know I'm rich, single, you know all that.
• 55:07
And the jet. Yeah, I got the jet. You know,
• 55:09
I can let you fly sometimes got the pjah Yeah, so I was.
• 55:14
I mean, Roberto was beautiful and that was brazee because he's one of my
• 55:17
favorite characters. Got him on the shelf over here. He shines and that's
• 55:21
been red if you ever read that. But yeah, I've been a Roberto
• 55:23
fan since New Mutants Fallen Angels. You know, we can go back like
• 55:28
that's my dog. So yeah, and then the costuming is a little bit
• 55:32
different too, some of for some or most, the costuming is a little
• 55:38
bit different. Yeah, did there's slight updates there, And like you mentioned,
• 55:44
like the biggest one for me was obviously Storm and the fact that she
• 55:46
doesn't have that full men of hair anymore. She still got the long ship
• 55:50
going on, but she got the mohawk to actually have a storm behind me
• 55:53
right now. But the Mohawk storm, which which I know a lot of
• 55:55
people thought was cool. You know, my my memories of course were like
• 56:00
you know the main So I was just like, all right, this is
• 56:01
this is different. No storm is the god fam I'm sure and it's and
• 56:07
I mean that that should have big a been hint. I mean, that
• 56:09
should have been a big hint. I also should have got another big hint
• 56:14
from the episode titles which were already released and two of them involved life death
• 56:21
and that should have been a big hint to what happens in episode two.
• 56:24
But we'll get into that. But it wasn't enough for me. And all
• 56:28
the god damn foreshadowing was also quite hilarious to me, so much for I
• 56:34
mean, and I actually didn't realize or maybe I forgot, like shout out
• 56:37
to steff I Will, who like one of the reasons why like she was
• 56:42
able to help build her platform was like the jokes when it comes to X
• 56:45
Men and how ridiculous and as you say, outrageous their shit was, and
• 56:50
really the shit that they had been saying all along they and again maybe they
• 56:53
didn't turn it up, but it feels amplified here now maybe because the animation
• 56:57
is so clean, so I'm not looking. I'm not distracted by bad animation.
• 57:00
It's just like, yo, what is these niggas actually saying? And
• 57:02
it's just the the the comments that these characters be making canout. We're gonna
• 57:12
we're gonna have a lot to say, and we should also get into it
• 57:15
because like again, we're talking about episode one, which is called the title
• 57:20
to Me My X Men. And one of the things I also wanted to
• 57:22
make sure we touch upon before we go into details is the voice acting.
• 57:27
So I did look it up just to double check. Most of the voice
• 57:30
actors from the original series has returned, with the exception of a couple.
• 57:37
Is it still a cyclops? People are acting like he had a new voice.
• 57:40
He I thought he had a new voice because he sounded different, But
• 57:43
apparently it's the same guy in memory the memories listen memory, I can understand
• 57:52
a broken memory about you know exactly how good something was or or or was
• 57:57
it really? But two, I feel like certain things in the human things
• 58:00
voice and sent like one other that does not change. Well, he's probably
• 58:07
changed. It's been twenty years. The guy his voice has changed. What
• 58:09
has changed, it's a little different than what it was, and perhaps that's
• 58:14
a that could be again because he's older, he's his voice literally, his
• 58:16
vocals may have changed or he changed the inflection for this show. Who knows.
• 58:22
But it's the same guy. However, I do hear a difference.
• 58:24
  I like it. I mean I don't, like I said, even having
• 58:28
just rewatched it. The only voice who is so identified both for me is
• 58:34
Rogue because I'm like, that's the same one, but there ain't. No
• 58:37
God, that's because because she she has very very specific intonation and how she
• 58:43
does that accent and it's like unmistakable. There was some words she said that
• 58:47
I was like questioning it a little bit, but again I confirmed it's still
• 58:52
her, And I just wanted to like, I'm trying to say the names
• 58:57
too, but there's so many damn names. Don't even do it. The
• 59:00
original voice of a storm is still there. Yeah, we'll be here all
• 59:04
day. Yeah you were talking about it. How you when you're talking about
• 59:07
outrageous? How extra I she said it to the winds of East. I
• 59:15
was like, yes, this is what I ever met. She said,
• 59:19
reclaim these people or something, But she doesn't. Yo, Okay, that's
• 59:23
that's episode like two or three. So we came no, that's still one.
• 59:27
When she came out, that's when she went hard on the sentinels and
• 59:29
still one, that's what she Yes, yeah, I got my notes right
• 59:32
here. No, that's not one. That's still one. But yeah,
• 59:36
but but that was one of the most badest things. But anyway, oh
• 59:39
yeah, we were talking about foreshadowing and and one of the biggest and most
• 59:44
ridiculous ones to me was in one when Storm is sitting with Jeane and is
• 59:47
over there wondering what it was like. She's like, I once thought about
• 59:51
it, like about to have powers, but then I was like, I
• 59:54
love my family over here so much. It's just like handed foreshadow praageous lines.
• 1:00:01
But it's entertaining. And that's why I keep saying, it's like your
• 1:00:07
stories for kids were now for adults, right. It's it's the stories like
• 1:00:09
it just be some crazy as the world turn type shit, like yo,
• 1:00:14
why is this happening? But they're all animated, right, But yeah,
• 1:00:19
everybode generally sounded great. I know. Also, people were kind of talking
• 1:00:22
about Wolfarine a little bit, but it's the same guy. Yeah, I
• 1:00:27
know that was another one. I knew that was. Yeah, yeah,
• 1:00:30
you know, I love gamb It. Now if you want to talk about
• 1:00:31
it, Zaddy were talking about damn that's mine girl, okay, man,
• 1:00:39
like I was such a rogue fanatic. And when he showed up and it
• 1:00:43
was like it was like when they know it was it wasn't that it was
• 1:00:45
jealousy, because it was like it was corny, like are you remember they
• 1:00:49
put the two Southerners together, the two people from Louisiana together, nigga,
• 1:00:53
Like it's like when they put Storm in black pants together. It was like,
• 1:00:57
niggah the blacks to get together. And now, well, you know,
• 1:01:00
lack of imagination, but you see what they did in this series,
• 1:01:02
right, And and there's also the thing about Gambit, like this is a
• 1:01:07
bigger story, but I guess I could just explain it. Remember we got
• 1:01:14
it. I want to make sure we talk about No, well, I'll
• 1:01:16
say that for the burder, but no, I'll just explain it now because
• 1:01:20
it makes more sense of explaining now, right, Okay, Gambit blows up
• 1:01:22
and Dambit is actually created by Chris Claremont in the nineteen nineties and the nineteen
• 1:01:28
nineties The Kama books were the time of super extreme. Everybody's extreme. As
• 1:01:32
I've pointed out on Twitter, there was a character named Longshot who had a
• 1:01:37
one blowing eye. He wore a lot of pouches, he had a mullet,
• 1:01:42
and he art was done by this creator, Art Adams, who became
• 1:01:45
super influential, and Mad characters copy that, such as Table with the glowing
• 1:01:50
eye, Mad pouches, such as Dambit with the glowing eye, Mad pouches,
• 1:01:54
right, and so when Gambit shows up, Gambit is like the epitome
• 1:01:59
of extreme nineties Shit, my man got the trend stroke, he got the
• 1:02:01
weird eyes, plus he got the blowing eyt he's a thief, he got
• 1:02:06
the cut off crop top and everything. Yeah, you know, he got
• 1:02:09
the cut off crop top, he got the hair, he got all the
• 1:02:13
extremes, he got the five o'clock shadow. It's like all the things that
• 1:02:15
all the nineties characters had. Gambit showed up with everything. He's a thief,
• 1:02:21
he's a rogue, all the women love him. You know, he's
• 1:02:24
an anti hero type character. So he was all the things that you know
• 1:02:29
nineties characters and body right. Then at the same time there's this Edmond villain
• 1:02:32
who we see in this series and an original called Mister Sinister. And mister
• 1:02:37
Sinister is a super extreme villain right like as they said on here, he's
• 1:02:42
so evil that his name is Sinister. It's just ridiculous. He's all white,
• 1:02:47
he looks like a vampire, he's got the black armor. He's just
• 1:02:52
like the evil of evil. Right. So Chris Claremont introduced both of these
• 1:02:57
characters around the same time Gambit shows up, Miss Senator shows up. Now,
• 1:03:01
Chris Claremont's original intention for these characters is hilarious because Chris Claremont gets fired
• 1:03:07
off X Men a couple of years later and doesn't actually get to introduce what
• 1:03:10
his real story was. But the real original story for Gambit, and probably
• 1:03:15
why I gropped early that I didn't fuck with this dude, was that both
• 1:03:19
him, Gambit and mister Senator are supposed to be mental creations. It's supposed
• 1:03:23
to be a young twelve year old mutant who envisions these things as Okay,
• 1:03:28
this is what and this is what a villain should be on some so sam
• 1:03:35
shit, And so he created them both and sent them out into the world,
• 1:03:37
and Gambit joined the X Men and mister Sinister becomes the villain and it
• 1:03:42
was eventually going to be revealed for that, but it never happened. And
• 1:03:45
so this super you know, ridiculous character Gambit because he became super popular instantly.
• 1:03:51
And that's the thing. People didn't get the joke. It's just like
• 1:03:52
another character like Lobo. Lobo was supposed to be a joke about Wolverine and
• 1:03:57
all these characters, and nobody got the joke. It's like, oh,
• 1:04:00
Lobo school, dam it's cool. So they didn't get it, and people
• 1:04:04
you know, clamped onto them. And now Gambit's official character with thirty plus
• 1:04:09
years and him and Rogue are you know, official couple, and it is
• 1:04:13
what it is. But the original intention for them both was really interesting and
• 1:04:15
really hilarious to me. So m yep, interesting And that's what that's okay,
• 1:04:21
That that we all missed a joke apparently, and that's fine by me.
• 1:04:26
Like I said, it's much a lot in light Game. But then
• 1:04:28
he's had some great stories and great adventures. Man, he had this one
• 1:04:30
issue where he pulls a knife out of his thigh and then like somebody shot
• 1:04:34
him with a knife and then he like pulled the knife out with his teeth
• 1:04:38
and used that knife to pick a lock. Yeah, yeah, I became
• 1:04:44
a Gamber fan. Like I have said earlier, but I want to really
• 1:04:47
impress upon people how fucking hilarious this series is because there are, like I
• 1:04:54
said, not only the dialogue, but there is just some choices that are
• 1:04:58
like clearly made to be And when I say to be funny, I mean
• 1:05:01
where they're like in today's it's ship that happens to the characters that in today's
• 1:05:06
stories, again more contemporary stories of the now, you would be like,
• 1:05:12
that's a plot hole or why would they do that? Oh, and I
• 1:05:14
gotta know what you're where you're saying, is I'm not I've really feeling that.
• 1:05:18
Yeah, I need to hear first episode when you get introduced to these
• 1:05:21
niggas and they fighting the niggas in the beginning of a funk out of here
• 1:05:25
they fighting funk out of here in the beginning and the little warehouse, Storm
• 1:05:29
and Bishop come down and ringing Holy hell in these niggas, right, And
• 1:05:34
I'm like, well, first of all, you should have been dead immediately,
• 1:05:38
right, this is Storm you talking about. She's coming down on the
• 1:05:40
lightning immediately, like held up she well, she said, she says her.
• 1:05:44
She says her, you know, cannons to the east and the cannon
• 1:05:45
to the right of them, and then comes down with the lightning, right.
• 1:05:49
But they kind of making it, they're kind of making it alive,
• 1:05:51
right that the fuck out of Here is kind of storms, They're kind of
• 1:05:57
making a live which I'm just like, that's not sup to happen that at
• 1:06:00
one point one of the fuck out of Here people shoots this computer that is
• 1:06:03
right next to Storm and Bishop, and both Storm and Bishop get taken out,
• 1:06:09
like knock the fuck out and literally like like pass out on the floor,
• 1:06:14
both of them together. Then Dow don't come repelling like the fucking swat
• 1:06:19
team comes Scott fucking Summers to come save the day, like saying some cool
• 1:06:24
kid like you know, Bart Simpson and shit. And that's why I'm just
• 1:06:27
like, this shit is hilarious because they there ain't no goddamn way that this
• 1:06:31
ship would fly like if they were being for real. And that's why I'm
• 1:06:33
like, it's also an element of camp in this and why i think it's
• 1:06:35
funny. There is an intended camp in how they're doing the dialogue and they
• 1:06:40
approach There's no fucking way that you would be dead ass serious doing this now,
• 1:06:45
No fucking way, not no, I don't know, Like to me,
• 1:06:50
it just reads like, okay, I'm not all right. First of
• 1:06:55
all, I'm not saying that you want her to lightning these niggas to death.
• 1:06:58
No, not necessarily. I'm just saying, is find it funny that
• 1:07:00
out of anything that could have out a little ass fucking explosion, that that's
• 1:07:06
some funk out of here people started. It wasn't like the Mega Man guns.
• 1:07:12
They had the Mega Man guns doing hamm like god, no, no,
• 1:07:15
that ship was for That's the first thing I said. I said,
• 1:07:17
how did they get taken out by that? And it was both of them.
• 1:07:19
I'm just like, damn. I mean, Storm is not you know,
• 1:07:23
like powerful vulnerable, but none of them are. But my god,
• 1:07:28
yeah, I mean I feel you, I feel you Rigs, but I
• 1:07:33
  don't, you know, it's like it's that's fine, It's like, ain't
• 1:07:36
no way because any because then when you look at later episodes, that stupid
• 1:07:40
ship don't fucking affect her. And I'm just like that is classic. That's
• 1:07:45
classic camp for me. Like it's like later on like choosing picking and choosing
• 1:07:48
what stupid shit decides to affect the character that ship really shouldn't be affecting them
• 1:07:53
at all. Not like that. That's pret like every Marvel film, Like
• 1:07:56
people about that all the time, Like you know, it's like the power
• 1:07:59
levels, but a change depending on that power levels. Like Storm later survives
• 1:08:04
a battle with the Sentinels with no problem. So I get it, you
• 1:08:08
know, like in the same episode, may like maybe that is just classic
• 1:08:12
Marvel. Yeah, that is just marvelous. It's you know, that's what
• 1:08:15
I mean. It's like, it is what it is. Some days Spider
• 1:08:17
Man can survive a fight with fire Lord, and some days Spider Man has
• 1:08:21
trouble with thugs on the street. You know, it just is what it
• 1:08:25
is. And that's funny. No, but that's like me, I guess
• 1:08:29
because I'm so deep in comic books. It's just like, yeah, you
• 1:08:31
know, that's how it is. You know, Explosion, they get knocked
• 1:08:33
out, and then later on she fought some sensibles. You know. I
• 1:08:36
was just like, what, so, yeah, it was, it was
• 1:08:40
It was just funny. I wanted to give a big shout out to that
• 1:08:42
entrance though, and Cyclops shot sliding around of being like using his uh opted
• 1:08:48
blast as projectile beans and moving himself with it. Yeah, I've read a
• 1:08:53
lot of different comments. I don't know if I've seen him do that and
• 1:08:56
that was fly. I don't recall him being able to do it, but
• 1:08:58
he can. No, he can't been done before in stories. So I
• 1:09:03
like power Beams. I'm all right, it's plausible. Yeah, it's definitely
• 1:09:06
plausible. I mean I've seen it done in the other stories. I've never
• 1:09:10
seen Scott do it. I've never seen him drop down and you know,
• 1:09:13
fly from a thousand from three ft in the air or I this this show
• 1:09:23
reminded me one thing that my memory did not feel me on how much I
• 1:09:27
fucking can't stand Scott Summers and how making he saw some cool ship with his
• 1:09:33
with his powers and the guy that's always up in his fucking emotions. And
• 1:09:43
I never liked this nigga. No, that's stands firm for me. If
• 1:09:46
you didn't like this nigga before, you damn sh ain't like this. And
• 1:09:49
when I be by that is just him as his person. Is he a
• 1:09:55
cool character in the show, Yeah, but as a person he annoys me.
• 1:09:59
He it annoys me and it's still there, y'all. Did right,
• 1:10:02
disagree, disagree, stop right here all day. Stott simmers all day,
• 1:10:11
he all day. The nigga Okay, we'll talk about another episode, but
• 1:10:15
the nigga like, couldn't hey we say that? Because no, no,
• 1:10:21
okay, hey, hey a all right. One other thing I wanted to
• 1:10:28
point out of this episode was I just loved the what exactly happened this episode,
• 1:10:31
like we did the intro where we got reacquainted. I mean, people
• 1:10:34
seen the ship. We don't need to tell them exactly what happened. But
• 1:10:38
I'm for us, so I can understand because they said something happened. I
• 1:10:44
didn't realize it all happened in the first episode. Fought the sin. I
• 1:10:47
wish would just listen to me when I say, do it, because I
• 1:10:50
was getting to the point about the pacing and the storytelling that it makes that
• 1:10:58
they were able to put so much story. You mentioned it before, you
• 1:11:00
said the specific storylines, but the fact that as you're watching, as I
• 1:11:06
mentioned it does, it starts getting better and it increasingly gets more involved.
• 1:11:11
So I think they did a fantastic job. Because pacing is also a big
• 1:11:14
thing, and you never technically want to like be in lulls and things like
• 1:11:17
that, and I feel like they did very well there. That's why I
• 1:11:20
think I get what you're saying, like the second or third episodes might have
• 1:11:24
been, but I thought the pilot was very strong for a pilot because I
• 1:11:28
think it had a lot to do and handled it all very well. Like
• 1:11:30
it catches you up on a whole ast series that happened before this that most
• 1:11:35
people probably have not seen, or if they have, they haven't seen it
• 1:11:38
since they were kids, you know, and it gets you right back into
• 1:11:41
it. It reintroduces pretty much the whole team of mutants, and it does
• 1:11:45
it through sun Spots eyes, which is a really smart way of doing it.
• 1:11:47
So through each way you get to meet all these characters through his eyes,
• 1:11:51
so it's fresh eyes. You know. It's a great storytelling way because
• 1:11:56
episode one, no sun Spots. In episode one, catch find him an
• 1:12:00
episode one of them And this is why I asked you, which was what
• 1:12:06
happened? Episode Okay? Well, then a short story for you know,
• 1:12:11
because talk to that and I did watch all these three, you know,
• 1:12:15
back to back, and so you know it's for me all right to clear
• 1:12:18
it up, Yeah, to clear it up an episode what the Men rescue
• 1:12:24
Sunspot from the Friends of Humanity. They take him back to the mansion where
• 1:12:27
he meets everyone. He's immediately like, I ain't working with this and runs
• 1:12:31
off to a night club. The Men follow him to a night club.
• 1:12:34
Hilarious. Hilarious, which was but see this is all once again. These
• 1:12:39
are all like references because this happened before with Dazzler, so they basically twitch
• 1:12:45
Dazzler for Sunspot. So the X Men follow him to the night club,
• 1:12:48
where upon the Friends of Humanity show up again. There's more beef, you
• 1:12:54
know, woom woom wom. Eventually, uh, they say, okay,
• 1:12:57
we got to track down the maker. You know, we need to try
• 1:13:00
down where they get these weapons from. They can all the ways if y'all
• 1:13:03
got access to the Sentinel, because these a Sentinel based weapons. So what's
• 1:13:06
going on is if there's a master mold, which is that mates Sentinels,
• 1:13:12
which they had supposedly destroyed. Yep, so they had destroyed one before,
• 1:13:15
but your man Bolivar Trash shows up. Bolivar Trash is from the comments.
• 1:13:19
The Trash family are basically responsible for creating the Sentinels. If you read Houseavec's
• 1:13:26
powers, Vecks and one of Mori's lives, Mrman Taggerslave. She basically went
• 1:13:30
through and killed all of the trash trying to stop the Sentinels from happening.
• 1:13:34
It doesn't, you know, help work because sentinels and AI is going to
• 1:13:39
come even if you kill It's like if you killed Bill Gates, AI is
• 1:13:42
still gonna come up. Like you know, I do want to say that
• 1:13:45
fight was one of the coldest. Is just an animation in this animation,
• 1:13:47
because if one thing is so strong about this series is when they animate the
• 1:13:53
fights. All of the action fight scenes are incredible, especially when they in
• 1:13:58
the desert when and the way Storm came down and turned the fucking sand into
• 1:14:04
glass, my nigga and went in like you said, and carried these sentinel
• 1:14:11
like it was nothing like that. That's my chef's kids, beautiful. Yeah,
• 1:14:15
And that's I mean that whole even leading up to it, like the
• 1:14:19
X Men when the Blackbird gets torn apart and Storm just yeah, and Storm
• 1:14:25
just nods her head to Rogue and then they all just snap in the action
• 1:14:29
and then Cyclops is like, Okay, team, great work. You know,
• 1:14:31
I'll see you on the ground like that whole ship was pure fire like
• 1:14:36
it's very the camera whipping around them. It was just great animation. Yeah.
• 1:14:43
Oh, like you said, when Storm does take out the Sentinels,
• 1:14:45
they call her an Omega level mutant. Yep. I heard that process Here
• 1:14:48
we go, here we go, yep. Which is and the funny the
• 1:14:54
mega level of stuff came around, like it was first introduced to the concept
• 1:14:58
right around the nineties, but it really became prominent recently and in the two
• 1:15:02
thousands when they were saying in the in the Fox versions. Yeah, and
• 1:15:06
so the omega the idea of omega level mutant is basically, if you're a
• 1:15:11
mutant, there is no limit. Like it's mean, girls, Like there
• 1:15:15
is no limit because like Storm controls weather, so there's no limits to the
• 1:15:20
weather she can control. Right, Like Cyclops as powerful is is not an
• 1:15:26
Omega level mutant because his ie beams have a limit. You know, they
• 1:15:30
can reach certain limit and that's it. It's just there's no unless there's no
• 1:15:36
atmosphere. And even then I don't even think that that's no it's like storms,
• 1:15:42
  That's what I'm saying. I said, I don't even think the atmosphere
• 1:15:45
even matters like any form of weather. Yes, she can control Magneto is
• 1:15:50
the master of magnetism. There's no powerful today than him at magnetism. He
• 1:15:56
is an Omega level Muan. What about Professor X and Gene Ray, I'm
• 1:16:00
not sure which right now considered the omega version of I think Professor has definitely
• 1:16:05
considering an Omega level telepath. Yeah, And I think Gene has the potential
• 1:16:11
as a thing eventually, because she doesn't she's not there yet. No,
• 1:16:14
she's not there yet, But I think she has the potential to definitely become
• 1:16:16
one of the omegas. And there's a few other like Iceman surprised she's the
• 1:16:23
supreme h Like I said, Iceman surprised the Omega level is yeah, because
• 1:16:30
I like when Iceman goes Ham, he goes hand. But he's always yeah,
• 1:16:34
and he's always been a person who holds back and that's why you don't
• 1:16:39
ever get to see his real power. But yeah, that was a great
• 1:16:43
reference. Another one I really wanted to talk about real quick in this episode
• 1:16:45
was a great her CoA House of That's reference was when Guy Rick is in
• 1:16:51
jail talking to them and he says, did you honestly think we would roll
• 1:16:55
over, that we wouldn't fight back, And that's a flip of what the
• 1:16:59
mutant told the humans at the beginning of House of Edsit it's actually what Cyclops
• 1:17:02
tells I think he tells Reed Richard's that after they established Krocoa, He's like,
• 1:17:08
did you honestly think we would just sit here and take it all this
• 1:17:10
time? Then we wouldn't fight back? And so it's a flip right there,
• 1:17:15
and he's even says other things that you know, it's the direct thing
• 1:17:17
to a Cocola where he's talking about if we accept you, eventually ye're going
• 1:17:20
to replace us, and that's I mean, that's that's real world racism.
• 1:17:27
It's you know, what the X Men finally take into a kind of Kircoa,
• 1:17:30
and it's it's really interesting to me as a huge fan of the X
• 1:17:34
Men and Mutants in general. It's something that came up a lot when people
• 1:17:38
were mad about Cocola because they're like, why ed men, you know doing
• 1:17:42
this? Well, are they're having their own nation? Well then well they
• 1:17:45
just take it basically, And as a black man who's dealt with racism my
• 1:17:48
whole life, it's all that was like yes, I would love it.
• 1:17:54
Fight Bad Nigga and I would love it if we had our own place and
• 1:17:58
we were just like, nah, we're gonna establish our own we gonna do
• 1:18:00
our own thing. So that was just really interesting and it was really interesting
• 1:18:03
to me to see that pushback and going back to this when we're talking about
• 1:18:08
the costuming and everything else, and right now, recently, Marvel just announced
• 1:18:12
what they're doing with the X Men after Coacoa, and it's basically going back
• 1:18:16
to this, like you're gonna see Cyclops in this type outfit. You're gonna
• 1:18:19
see they have one boot that's basically the main team, you know, Rogue,
• 1:18:24
Gambit, Storm, like all the X Men that we see in S
• 1:18:28
Men ninety seven. So really, I'm seeing the corporate side of Marvel coming
• 1:18:31
back in the play right now with S Men, and I really this my
• 1:18:34
big prediction that when we see them in the MCU, these are their looks.
• 1:18:39
You're gonna see that classic looks, so we'll see class know. But
• 1:18:45
what I'm saying is classic is also depends on who you are, right,
• 1:18:48
depends on your age, like to some people like to me, this is
• 1:18:51
my Classics Men, Like I came up before this, but this was that
• 1:18:57
you know, this is like my era of Tsmen was that you know,
• 1:19:01
even if somebody younger than you, like, this is considered classic for me,
• 1:19:04
Like there's because beyond this all you have is X Men version and then
• 1:19:10
even more recently you have for Core stuff. So I classic. There's so
• 1:19:14
many like Cyclops is like fifty costumes for most of that, but this is
• 1:19:17
the one. What's that thing? For most people? This one, and
• 1:19:19
this is the one that Marvel push a lot. I mean, it's also
• 1:19:21
it has a lot to do with like the people who did it, Like
• 1:19:25
Jim Lee is one of the greatest arts art of all time, and he's
• 1:19:28
the biggest nineties artist and he's the one who designed most of these looks.
• 1:19:30
So it just holds, you know, it stays the test, it does
• 1:19:34
and then you have to remember like also my gen on like playing Capcom,
• 1:19:40
marvelus these these was it. So yeah, So I think for a lot
• 1:19:45
of people, this is considered the classic look. Yeah. So I feel
• 1:19:48
like this is the look that we will see in the movies. I'm not
• 1:19:51
mad at that. There's other stuff I'd like to see, Like I always
• 1:19:55
saw about Core's all these eras you know, but I get it, you
• 1:19:58
know, from a corporate to point, from someone looking to establish a brand,
• 1:20:01
this is the looks that they should go. Right. So before we
• 1:20:04
get out episode one, one of the things I want to make sure we
• 1:20:06
mentioned, because we talked about it before we started recording was the dual powers.
• 1:20:12
So like circuit, Yeah, the mutants are right. So in that
• 1:20:15
same fight with Trash and the Sentinals and Masterable, where again where my man
• 1:20:20
gambit when he charged up Wolverine's claws, that shit was fired and then go
• 1:20:28
ahead, you can say about the next one. Yeah, And he also
• 1:20:30
throws a card underneath Wolverine's ass to launch him into the air so that he
• 1:20:35
can then tell Morph, give me some bounce, and Morph transforms into the
• 1:20:42
mute character to blob, so Wolverine can then bounce off his stomach and deliver
• 1:20:46
the coupde grad to Master Mold and cut that nigga's head clean off with his
• 1:20:50
charge. Applause. I said, the fights, the fights went and go
• 1:20:55
too damn hard on this show. So yeah, And the idea of a
• 1:20:59
mute and circuit is something that has been part of X Men forever but was
• 1:21:01
recently defined in the Kirkoa era as the Mutant circuit, and in the Kirkoa
• 1:21:06
already took it to the extremes where they have this team of the Five who
• 1:21:12
can resurrect people by combining their powers. But they also defined the original mutant
• 1:21:17
circuit is known as the Fastball Special, which most Men fans know as the
• 1:21:23
Losses throwing Wolverine at somebody. So it's something basic like that. It's just
• 1:21:28
combining your powers creates a circuit, and you know, the sum is greater
• 1:21:31
than the parts. Now, I love that Gambit charge of shit because as
• 1:21:35
we know, Gambit stuff blows up everything when he charged something and explodes.
• 1:21:40
The Wolverine's claws are indestructible a tandaum. So it's like this is the thing
• 1:21:45
that can be charged up and won't explode, and then he can throw the
• 1:21:47
claw and the niggas and round. You could throw some fucking blow up shit
• 1:21:51
on his ass. Wolverin still felt that ship, which is that's what people
• 1:21:59
always forget about wolver And in the commentary bringing up is he feels all the
• 1:22:01
pain, He'll be ay reason what camera was saying, like, you know,
• 1:22:06
Flo, he'll be no he didn't ask for that part. He told
• 1:22:11
more for them up. I mean, he knew it was gonna happen,
• 1:22:15
but still it was like he knew they practice has been Believe me, they're
• 1:22:18
in the danger room circuits. He was ready for that, but goddam,
• 1:22:27
I mean, even going back to the Fastball Special, all he thought it
• 1:22:30
was wow that niggas was just throwing this nigga at people, you know,
• 1:22:32
like, I get it, your bones don't break. He's five two and
• 1:22:36
matter. Come on, man, we're not gonna talk about how niggas used
• 1:22:41
to throw you know, dwars around like that ship's trifling, like it's it's
• 1:22:45
hell trifling, like just being small. This nigga just throws this nigga around.
• 1:22:50
They practiced this same fucking circuit in the dance. How do you practice
• 1:22:56
that, nigga? How do you throw me at that wall? It's not
• 1:23:00
walls whatever. But I know but but and you know, Wolverine's fucking psycho.
• 1:23:06
You know, he he loved this ship. He loves that minute.
• 1:23:10
Get it. It's like who played football. I've never understood that ship never
• 1:23:14
clear. There is no pain like the pain of not being loved by Jean.
• 1:23:19
I need you to oh my god, there is no pain. That's
• 1:23:25
where saying how many shots this season? Or they can have this nigga standing
• 1:23:30
outside of the while getting played like right, and that's that's I remember that
• 1:23:34
nigga. Now I don't consider him a because because he simps in front of
• 1:23:43
Jean, but then when g not did he got fucking work to do.
• 1:23:45
No niggas crying in the tree by himself. He's buying when company comes,
• 1:23:54
or it's kind of gonna get ship done. He ain't talking about oh oh,
• 1:23:57
I'm so set in Gene. Is this that? And the third notice
• 1:24:00
you need to be watched that original series. Boy that is on goal all
• 1:24:04
the time and he's about that action all the time. Half the time,
• 1:24:09
Scot crying like I don't know we should be doing this and nigga get the
• 1:24:12
fuck out, No man, no game. All right, We're gonna move
• 1:24:15
on the episode two because because I know why you're trying to expect this nigga,
• 1:24:20
and this nigga has Sody's choice him. I am actually once again,
• 1:24:29
that doesn't take away his power, doesn't take away that this ship, this
• 1:24:31
nigga does do dope ship. Yeah, he's super dope he's still a fucking
• 1:24:35
step Yeah all right, Episode two, episode two of X Men ninety seven
• 1:24:43
one Liberation begins. I got a shout out because I was completely surprised and
• 1:24:47
taken aback by this, that the fact that the opening credits seem to be
• 1:24:53
changing every episode. I love it. Yes, I love it because we
• 1:24:59
always have the opening of each hero the hero try to be thrown with their
• 1:25:01
name, and this one starts off immediately let you know that shit has changed.
• 1:25:05
Magneto is now part of the team because we didn't mention that. At
• 1:25:10
the end of the first episode, Magnito with the good hair shows up,
• 1:25:13
Maggie with the good hair shows up, and it's like, ahaha, Professor
• 1:25:15
has left it all to me. Niggas get it. And also to that
• 1:25:19
point, like in episode one, because since he's allegedly dead, you don't
• 1:25:23
see Professor X because he's in the original intro Professor X and he wasn't in
• 1:25:27
this whatsoever. What. But yes, this second episode, you got Magneto
• 1:25:31
come in like I got this ship he bought NBC. You know he in
• 1:25:35
this bitch. The niggas got his new costume on. In the intro he
• 1:25:39
makes an X out of some metal yeah, but in the arms yeah,
• 1:25:45
and the arms out. I told you, look, you may deny it,
• 1:25:48
but Man is pure Zaddy and that's I think. I also fucked with
• 1:25:53
him because he's the one who bad rogue, and unlike Gambit, he deserved
• 1:25:57
it. So that's why I always fucked with Manito word up and also that
• 1:26:01
whole thing like cause you get to see that, Like I didn't remember any
• 1:26:04
of that. I was like, oh, they was fucking like literally as
• 1:26:09
soon as they linked up, I was like, okay, now that now
• 1:26:12
we'll get into that, right, but that okay, so that we named
• 1:26:15
you know, Immune Liberation begins. This is actually the episode where Storm is
• 1:26:18
having a conversation with Gene, because this episode is about Gene and Cyclops really
• 1:26:24
thinking, okay, we're about to have this kid. We need to get
• 1:26:27
the fuck out of here, you know what I mean, Like it's we've
• 1:26:30
been here too long, we're old as dirt, and this is once again
• 1:26:33
happened exactly like this in the comics, in the comments, Oh god,
• 1:26:38
we're going No, I'll get into that in the third episode, because that's
• 1:26:41
a whole nother original intention for characters that didn't work. You liked the Well,
• 1:26:45
actually, these niggas okay, no, it's so it's so interesting to
• 1:26:47
me because Chris Cremont is one of these writers who plots ahead for years in
• 1:26:51
advance, so he had all these plans for these characters. They and niggas
• 1:26:58
just said, fuck your plans, nigga. It did whatever they wanted.
• 1:27:00
And so it's just so funny because now it's like thirty years of people like,
• 1:27:03
fuck, you're playing Scris and so this is the version of the characters.
• 1:27:08
So we'll get into that in the third episode with Madelon Pryor, which
• 1:27:10
is just, oh my god, that's so funny. So this episode,
• 1:27:15
Magneto owned NBC and everybody and he's so yeah, this episode is The two
• 1:27:19
major plots in this episode are Cyclops and Gene trying to leave and Magneto saying,
• 1:27:27
fuck it, I'll go on trial, which once again is straight from
• 1:27:31
the comics. I mean down to the costume. He's wearing everything I want.
• 1:27:35
And these are some of the first X Men issues I ever bought.
• 1:27:38
With Magneto going on trial. He goes to Paris. He goes on trial
• 1:27:42
for everything he'd done as villain at that point, which was in the comics,
• 1:27:46
hell of shit, my nigga had sunken a Russian sub full of people.
• 1:27:49
He raised a volcano in a Russian city. I think this nigga was
• 1:27:55
killing people left and right. Son, he be like that, And basically
• 1:27:59
he said, it be like that because I'm a mute and they'll niggas try
• 1:28:00
and kill me. So he went on trial and in the comics he's actually
• 1:28:04
a pardon of everything. And it went into this whole thing where he thought
• 1:28:09
one of the judges was racists and they weren't. Like he thought they hated
• 1:28:12
mutants and they weren't. And so it was, you know, Magneto fucked
• 1:28:15
up and he had to reconcile it. Not all people hate him just because
• 1:28:18
he's a mutant, and people will believe his story of he's been persecuted his
• 1:28:23
whole life, so he's just fighting back. So it was a really dope
• 1:28:27
story in the comics, and I really love seeing it translated here. And
• 1:28:30
I thought they did, you know, once again, they condensed everything,
• 1:28:32
they get straight to it. I thought they did a you know, admirable,
• 1:28:35
admirable job with this. Yeah, I agree, and again with the
• 1:28:41
dramatics and even Magneto I forgot. Also, Magneto is once for me once
• 1:28:45
that below when it comes to Storm and the in the oration, and maybe
• 1:28:48
they both on the same level with the nest, but the way they explain
• 1:28:55
shit, and it be the most mundane shit, but the way they go
• 1:28:58
into it, I'm just like, my god, that's poetry. And then
• 1:29:02
again and then with the hair and all this other stuff going on, it's
• 1:29:05
just it's just phenomenal. And and when you're watching this combinement and everything else,
• 1:29:12
it just gets you deeper into it, like it really gets you into
• 1:29:15
the stories even more. Again, funny shit happening that maybe it wasn't meant
• 1:29:21
to be funny. In this episode especially, I understand what it was.
• 1:29:28
Specifically, when Jean and Storm had that little sit down together and Jeans was
• 1:29:33
trying to explain, look, man, you know, I'm afraid for this
• 1:29:36
world and what we're bringing our son into and you know the fact that he's
• 1:29:41
going to be persecuted. She had this conversation, and I get it.
• 1:29:45
She is. She wants better for her son. She's a mute in this,
• 1:29:48
you know. I I I was fucking dying laughing as well, because
• 1:29:54
again I'm I'm taking out a context of that story. I'm just seeing a
• 1:29:59
white woman African. Do you know what it's like to be different in America?
• 1:30:06
And I was fucking rolling, roll ling, and I know that I
• 1:30:13
wasn't intentioned. Don't come at me, don't at me with I know what
• 1:30:16
it was about. I don't give a fuck that ship was it's still what
• 1:30:19
it was about. No, it's still yeah, that's still real. It's
• 1:30:23
like I just I was just like out of old And again, that's her
• 1:30:27
sister, right, that's the person that understands from them, So she's gonna
• 1:30:30
talk to the store. Fine mix. But in that context when she was
• 1:30:32
sitting there, I don't know, Jeane and then the world and the life
• 1:30:35
and they hate us. I was like, that's an African, you're talking
• 1:30:40
to what You're still white? You know, you're still you're still white,
• 1:30:44
but I know shoots beams out of his eyes, but you're pretty good.
• 1:30:46
Like you can just walk around and I mean, you can make it where
• 1:30:49
niggas don't even know you're shooting beans out of the ours. My my sentiments
• 1:30:53
are out of context of that conversation and that specific story. I just found
• 1:30:56
it hilarious. It was there. Oh no, definitely. Now we mentioned
• 1:31:01
this real quick, But I do want to talk about Rogue and Magneto because
• 1:31:05
I love it. First of all, I love it and I had to
• 1:31:09
actually google to see because, like I said, I didn't watch every episode
• 1:31:12
of the original series. I watched like the first reason they was fucking because
• 1:31:16
I don't remember that. No, it's not. It is directly from the
• 1:31:20
comics, so yes, So it's like they brought that story into this and
• 1:31:26
because Rogue like has time where it could have happened and her bad story,
• 1:31:30
it was perfect. So that was really dope to see. Uh. In
• 1:31:35
the third episode they get more into it with some direct callbacks from the comics
• 1:31:39
that we'll talk about in that one. But I just love that. I
• 1:31:43
love that Magneto can touch her through the use of his power and been touching
• 1:31:47
her in that danger room day at the day more more morph clock that ship.
• 1:31:55
I was fucking going out. He sent me to the fucking moon with
• 1:31:58
that ship. Yeah, so I wanted to ask you about that. Is
• 1:32:00
it because he's using that magnetum, Like, how was he able to because
• 1:32:04
obviously when they touch you saw a little sparks. I was all right,
• 1:32:06
something to do with the power. But what is it about that that he's
• 1:32:11
a toucher comics? Okay, okay, like the in the third episode,
• 1:32:16
which we'll get into. I'll explain more in the third eup. So let's
• 1:32:19
just say that for that one. Okay, how they're doing it, I'm
• 1:32:23
not sure in this, but I'll play more in the third episode. Some
• 1:32:27
theories and shit, I guess about it. Wrapping up some stuff. In
• 1:32:30
this episode, Jean has the baby, which is, you know, the
• 1:32:34
big moment that we've all been waiting for. She has little Nathan Christopher Summers,
• 1:32:40
who grows up to be cable in the comics. You know, sorry,
• 1:32:45
spoiler for like a forty years spoiler. Yeah, I mean she's been
• 1:32:47
around like forty years now. Yeah. Yeah, he grows up to be
• 1:32:51
cable in the comics, and we'll see more of that directly in episode three.
• 1:32:57
I also got to point out, because you pointed out some white women
• 1:32:59
and shit, I want to point out some woman and ship that while she
• 1:33:01
is being driven to the hospital going through labor, Jeans still has to lift
• 1:33:05
people up with tell the Kenesians out of way, because for some Woovery is
• 1:33:11
completely incompetent, Like you talk about something, you talk about some goofy cartoon
• 1:33:15
ship that was like that, like because that was like some eighties cartoon ship
• 1:33:25
like that was like the stupid ship he used to do on Stooby Dude,
• 1:33:28
Like that was just ridiculous, Like why is he driving on the sidewalks something
• 1:33:32
like what? Like wasn't that serious? Yeah, I guess, I guess
• 1:33:36
maybe you thought that would get him very faster. He just killed some people
• 1:33:40
all the way. And then because she's in labor again, she's telekinetic.
• 1:33:45
She she she's ripping the roof of the cars being ripped off, and I'm
• 1:33:49
just like, bro, they're gonna get there or anything like it was it
• 1:33:53
was going in on it. Then Also you didn't talk about what I didn't
• 1:33:57
talk about because this was also the episode where Storm lost her power, right,
• 1:34:01
yes, so another thing about the black woman. And again I remember
• 1:34:06
if this was story, well, I'm not gonna say, Cannon, if
• 1:34:10
this was the story, yeah, or was it like the animation that she
• 1:34:16
Storm, of all people, is the one who catches it, trying to
• 1:34:19
trying to protect her bro, you know, her brother in the oration that
• 1:34:26
she catches out of all of them and likely only African. I vaguely remember,
• 1:34:30
like wow, when it happened, I was like I had something hit
• 1:34:34
in my head, but I wasn't sure. But beyond that, it just
• 1:34:38
goes back to again as a black woman watching, I was just like,
• 1:34:40
damn, why yo ass had to catch the el? And then Magneto with
• 1:34:45
the single you know, tear rolling down his eyes and he was thinking about
• 1:34:49
it. And then I got suspicious because I was just like, was this
• 1:34:54
his plan? And I was like, no, no, no, that
• 1:34:55
wasn't his plan. But was this his plan? Like I started getting real
• 1:34:58
suspicious too, because I always get suspicion is a ship like that, especially
• 1:35:00
when the black woman got toakke the l I'm like, wait a minute,
• 1:35:02
was this part of the plan to get right with the fucking government and all
• 1:35:06
that stuff? No, I don't think so, cause that Nigga was about
• 1:35:09
to murder the government. So because my man, my man was very serious
• 1:35:14
about his speeches, so I think I think he is truly sad. But
• 1:35:16
no, that Nigga's purely about to murder the government over that shit. So
• 1:35:20
he took his deep breath, he was just like, y'all niggas is lucky.
• 1:35:24
  I don't drop y'all. Well, y'all stand like he's in the atmosphere
• 1:35:28
with these niggas. Yeah, he should have dropped the fuck out of here
• 1:35:31
person though, Yeah, he should he should have dropped him. Yeah,
• 1:35:35
definitely. No. Once again, this is straight Canner from the comments.
• 1:35:41
In fact, in the comics, Rogue, I mean Storm loses her powers
• 1:35:45
because she's trying to stop Henry Peter Garrich Guy Rich again to always the dickhead.
• 1:35:51
He has the neutralizer gun, which in the comments is created by Forge.
• 1:35:56
I'm not sure if they're going to do that here, but in the
• 1:36:00
comets, Forged creates is done because he created to battle these preachers known as
• 1:36:03
the Dire Race, who were this alien race who was trying to create take
• 1:36:09
over the world. So he used it to fight them. But then the
• 1:36:13
government of course takes it and it's like oh this words, I'm muting word.
• 1:36:16
So Rogue at this point is a big time criminal. Most of ed
• 1:36:20
smon of Arbor Roge. But she's really she done some super wild ship at
• 1:36:25
this point. So Henry Peter goes to shut her down and catches her slipping
• 1:36:30
shoots her with the gun once but has it on the low setting for you
• 1:36:32
know, stun and it doesn't really get her, so then he turns it
• 1:36:36
up. She doesn't see him coming, Storm sees it, tries to push
• 1:36:42
her out the way and gets caught who he was aiming for, Rogue,
• 1:36:46
right, and he catches Storm, And like I said, that's why I
• 1:36:49
said, My mind was just like something like this happened, but to whom
• 1:36:54
until house so they switched to was Yeah, they switched because it's too different
• 1:37:00
storylines. Like I said before, like that happened way before the trial.
• 1:37:02
Magneto, you know, way before, years before, and I mean years
• 1:37:08
in real time and you know, at least months before in common time.
• 1:37:11
And I was seeing what it did, some fire fighting like fire action ship
• 1:37:15
with fucking Magneto wrapping the things up and bringing in like literal like Sade swords
• 1:37:20
down. It's the sort of I'm not but he had like multiple yet sort
• 1:37:26
of yeah, head then Rogue using that as as conductors conducting stations to do
• 1:37:31
like that. I was like, and then that should happened, and then
• 1:37:38
that should happened. I was like, God, damn not. She was
• 1:37:40
gonna be all right, but damn no, and on eventually, why do
• 1:37:45
you go to Wakanda yelling why don't you go to Wakanda? Well, that
• 1:37:49
might happen eventually too, because that's part of this storyline. Like I said,
• 1:37:55
I should have known this was coming, because they've announced ten of the
• 1:37:58
titles and two of the episodes are called Life Death and Life Deaf are big.
• 1:38:03
The first one is all about Storm and Forge when she finds out she's
• 1:38:08
recovering with him, and then she finds out that he created the gun that
• 1:38:12
took her powers, and it's why their relationship is one of my favorites,
• 1:38:15
and it's also why they had one of the most fucked up relationships in Comonship.
• 1:38:19
And then the second part of Life Deaf is when she goes back to
• 1:38:23
Africa and reconciles who she is as this woman who was raised in Africa,
• 1:38:27
who became this thief, who became an x man yea, and to go
• 1:38:31
back and go over there. It might, it might, they might do
• 1:38:34
to Wakanda, And they might, but I don't think because I think that'd
• 1:38:38
be too big for them to have the whole Black Panther franchise in this,
• 1:38:42
and I really don't want to see that. I'd rather see the relationship with
• 1:38:45
Forge play out. I know that I'm about to get daughter. You wouldn't.
• 1:38:48
  No, I don't, nigga, I don't give a ship like I
• 1:38:50
don't care you know, No, I don't want to see the only two
• 1:38:54
black people that Marvel had at the time together. It never made sense to
• 1:38:57
me and it still doesn't. And that goes into episode three about the whole
• 1:39:00
Storm Forge love story. Yeah, we'll get it done, but Storm to
• 1:39:04
finish this episode up, Magneto is pardoning. Storm writes. The four page
• 1:39:09
letter tells everybody, douce come out. Not one of y'all know more.
• 1:39:14
I'm not one of y'all niggas. No mo. I did love the shot
• 1:39:17
of Nathan and the crib with all his stuff above them, because it seems
• 1:39:20
like for a second like, oh, this nigga's already got to tell kinetics,
• 1:39:24
and then it's like no, he's just looking at the mobile above his
• 1:39:27
crib. I love how they did that. And then at the very end,
• 1:39:31
oh no, god, damn it, we gotta mention this shit man,
• 1:39:34
all right, Wolverine is sitting there crying by himself in a tree.
• 1:39:39
Damn cool more morph shows up with beer and chips. Wolverine's not interested until
• 1:39:47
Morph turns in the saber tooth right, and then Wolverine jumps down and they
• 1:39:53
start play fighting all together. Look, nigga, this is the weirdest sexual
• 1:39:58
ship that is going on. I'm glad you said that, because I felt
• 1:40:00
sexual intention even when I think it was either this episode episode before when Morph
• 1:40:05
was no it was this episode so three. Yeah, okay, so we'll
• 1:40:09
talk about it. But when Morph goes into like the shower and he's looking
• 1:40:14
and he thinking Wolverine's up in there, so then you know, he's like,
• 1:40:16
let me scratch, kind of going at him, you know, talking
• 1:40:19
about the scratching back. There is obvious sexual tension between the two for this,
• 1:40:25
oh no, not for you, for everyone, And this goes back
• 1:40:28
to the original series, and there was this big uproar when people found out
• 1:40:31
that Morph would call himself a more more they when they would yeah they would
• 1:40:38
dead, not themselves, yeah, they they would refer themselves as themselves non
• 1:40:43
binary, non binary. So there was a big uproar and it was hilarious
• 1:40:45
because once again, your memories are not serving you well. Because I went
• 1:40:50
back and rewatched it and in one of the very first episode because Morph gets
• 1:40:55
like not murdered, but that's been think he's dead by like the third episode,
• 1:40:58
so he's not in it for a lot of it that I don't remember
• 1:41:01
that nigga Okay, but yeah, that's but he's also he he shows a
• 1:41:06
brainwash. He's in a lot of the series. But I guess, you
• 1:41:09
know, like I said, people don't remember him, but people did remember
• 1:41:11
him whatever, But people who did remember him didn't remember the scene in the
• 1:41:15
first series when he when Wolverine trats him down at his bar after his left
• 1:41:18
the Edge Men, and Morph is like, I know what will bring you,
• 1:41:23
you know, I know what really brought you here and turns into Gene
• 1:41:25
Gray and attempts to kiss him. So it's already been established that Morph has
• 1:41:30
an attraction to Wolverine, and it's pretty much non binary because he turned in
• 1:41:35
the Wolf into Gene Gray. Is like, I'll kiss him as Gen Gray.
• 1:41:39
Now that's interesting and in of itself, yeah, I mean, it's
• 1:41:45
it's all kind of weird shit. But the fact that you turn in the
• 1:41:47
Saber too, who is that? All? Right? Now? In the
• 1:41:50
comics, Wolvering is Sable two have the most terrible relationship. Saber Tooth is
• 1:41:55
killed many people the Wolverine loves. There's actually a sable to war going on
• 1:42:00
right now in the comics where it's been said that save the Tooth. It's
• 1:42:03
a love story in a way. It's a very fucked up love story,
• 1:42:08
but he does love Wolverine in a fucked up way. So from morph to
• 1:42:13
turn into someone that Wolverine actively hates for someone that has killed people that Wolverine
• 1:42:18
loves, but then they're key keen playing fighting together. It's it's a hate
• 1:42:23
fuck thing. And that's why I'm like, this thing is getting really weird
• 1:42:26
Central because it's like Morphon is like, oh you want to you know,
• 1:42:30
really what you want is to you know, give it to this man.
• 1:42:32
The broken people remember that, like super if they weren't as broken, perhaps
• 1:42:38
they can have an actual relationship. But yeah, they have to do it
• 1:42:41
through the guys of as you said, hate fucking and just being weird and
• 1:42:45
all this other crazy shit that Mark has been doing for the last three episodes.
• 1:42:50
But I hope they fully keep our leaning into it. I'm pretty sure
• 1:42:55
they are. But that was disturbing to me, honestly. I can't I
• 1:42:58
mean not disturbing it, just like, wow, this relationship is it's fun.
• 1:43:01
Like I thought THEO had some weird sec shouldn't it. No, this
• 1:43:04
toxic is a toxic fucking relationship. And like I said, it could just
• 1:43:09
if they you know, if you would just true to yourself, then fine,
• 1:43:12
But no, everyone wants to be fucking weird and like we you know
• 1:43:15
you mentioned that episode three real quick, and like he says this to Wolverine,
• 1:43:18
like Wolverine is used to hearing this because they've been doing it. That
• 1:43:24
danger room got damn in there too, y'all. Y'all don't understand what be
• 1:43:27
going on in that. I mean, look, nig you can make holograms
• 1:43:30
of anything. When more that can lead to some wile that's that button And
• 1:43:34
for seven days straight it's said rogue and Magdido. Yeah, well, I
• 1:43:40
mean we create and we'll get into that in that episode two because that's all
• 1:43:44
third as well. Uh, last, but not least, at the end
• 1:43:47
of this episode, Jean Gray's clone for everyone once again, this is you
• 1:43:54
know, forty years of comments knowledge. Maddenon Pryor shows up at the door.
• 1:43:59
Soap opera, soap opera and the drama continues, and that's pretty much
• 1:44:03
it for episode two. All my children, days of our lives, all
• 1:44:11
my children with my shit for real, know for real, and that was
• 1:44:15
my shit growing up. I love me some, all my child Oh my
• 1:44:17
god, I know my sister watch it, so you know I did.
• 1:44:20
So my mom too watch it. Yeah, my mom and my sister watched.
• 1:44:24
That's then had dad on it. Boy, I loved all my children.
• 1:44:28
Oh my god. We will be back next week. We'll now,
• 1:44:30
I'll be catching them all with you same time. What's that every Wednesday?
• 1:44:34
Right? I think so? Yeah, I think so. I thought they
• 1:44:36
would have gone with Saturday. I mean, like March twenty seventh, April
• 1:44:42
third, are those wednesdays? Yeap, Yeah, it feels like a Wednesday,
• 1:44:45
because Saturday would just be weird for them, you know, Saturday,
• 1:44:48
like Saturday mornings are cartoons. Yeah, that's what I thought they would do,
• 1:44:51
you know, emulate that feeling, bring it, bring it back.
• 1:44:54
I got there, No Wednesday, and this is also a little too grown
• 1:44:58
for Saturday morning to be honest, it's too outrageous. But they got saving
• 1:45:03
to them moreph doing weird sec anyway. But I am very much enjoying the
• 1:45:10
series. Like I said, like great pacing, great storytelling, even in
• 1:45:15
a more contemporary at least images animation. But expression of these stories is crazy.
• 1:45:24
But it's very much as I said earlier, or I said it way
• 1:45:27
back in episode one, this is very much informed by the nineties stories in
• 1:45:30
that nineties camp and approach, and I love it. It worked out for
• 1:45:35
me. Yeah, you had your reservations and as, but like you know,
• 1:45:39
it took your second. It took me a second, but entirely my
• 1:45:42
fault. Like me, I was prepped because I went back and wats the
• 1:45:45
ridgel and I was like, okay, just where we're at, you know,
• 1:45:47
And I knew it wouldn't be you know, I know none of that.
• 1:45:49
It's men are just going to get murdered off. You know, it's
• 1:45:51
not gonna get like that. You know it's not gonna be that real.
• 1:45:54
  Yet you know, I don't think so. I don't think so. I
• 1:45:58
met the man for Bishop, do you remember that. I know I never
• 1:46:05
ain't no fucking way never. No. He wanted it to, you know,
• 1:46:10
I know. And the thing is method is a good actor. You
• 1:46:13
don't think he could do it. It's one of those things where it's like,
• 1:46:15
it's just I'm just trying to see Method, man, you know,
• 1:46:17
I'm never gonna see I mean, Bishop got the m right here, you
• 1:46:20
know what I'm saying. I know what's the rook, but I mean he
• 1:46:23
got the I'm just I don't know. Man. As much as I like
• 1:46:28
Method as an actor, I still always see myth. You know, even
• 1:46:30
when he's playing that lawyer on No, I mean the lawyer on Power,
• 1:46:33
he is definitely not the lawyer. Yeah, he is the evil lawyer on
• 1:46:38
Power. So maybe you know, maybe he could do Bishop. Maybe and
• 1:46:43
he's older now, where like the grizzledness of Bishop, you know, might
• 1:46:45
work. I don't know. He just looked too like, shit, I'm
• 1:46:48
not racist. Some time. I'm sorry chopping to me, you know,
• 1:46:51
like I'm sorry, you know, sorry man, you know, Hey,
• 1:47:00
what's up y'all? It's your boy, Bend. I mean, and thank
• 1:47:02
you for watching that video that you just watched. Make sure you hit the
