- 1:00SPEAKER_00: Recording, recording, recording! Carry on the tradition.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: Get the hang of it.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: I know that we've had some glitches with filming today, but if it'll be fine, no one will die from it.
- 1:12SPEAKER_04: Welcome back, everybody, to the Cleaning Business Life Podcast.
- 1:16SPEAKER_04: I'm your co-host, Danny Rumco.
- 1:18SPEAKER_04: We're here with the host, Shannon Miller.
- 1:22SPEAKER_04: Woohoo! I get a big old fat title.
- 1:26SPEAKER_04: Today we're talking about February reset and why your business already feels so heavy.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: It's true.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: Like how many of us like do goals for January?
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: And then when February rolls around, like the gym, right?
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: I know not to go to the gym at all in the month of January because everybody's in there like, I'm gonna work out.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna work out.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: And I know that by February, most of the people have weeded themselves out already.
- 1:52SPEAKER_04: And it's not, let's dive in on this conversation.
- 1:56SPEAKER_04: So, and it's true.
- 1:58SPEAKER_04: So, January, you're all optimistic.
- 2:01SPEAKER_04: So it's selling you.
- 2:03SPEAKER_04: You're you you got your goals going, but February, come February time, like Shannon was saying, you you're you're not seeing the results of that gym because you're not February hands you a mirror, it makes you look at yourself.
- 2:20SPEAKER_04: So it's the same work, same business, less excitement, and more weight.
- 2:26SPEAKER_04: Nothing dramatic has happened.
- 2:28SPEAKER_04: And that's the part that bothers people.
- 2:30SPEAKER_04: You're not behind because you're lazy, you're tired because the business stopped running on adrenaline.
- 2:39SPEAKER_04: And that is very true right now.
- 2:42SPEAKER_04: I've mentioned it many times before, as you guys listen, because this, you know, we do two episodes a week now.
- 2:50SPEAKER_04: So you're getting a really good live snapshot now, a really good snapshot of what's going on in my business in real time.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: I think too, when you're building, you do run on adrenaline.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: Like I, for a long time, was an adrenaline junkie.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: Like I still, if I if I'm not super duper busy, I can tend to scale off, and then I'm like, I gotta, you gotta check me for a pulse.
- 3:14SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 3:15SPEAKER_04: I found myself like, well, there's nothing much more for me to do, or totally so exhausted where I like I have to lay down and I have to lay down now.
- 3:30SPEAKER_04: Those types of power naps.
- 3:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I've been there.
- 3:33SPEAKER_04: So don't think that if you're doing that, don't think that you're alone.
- 3:37SPEAKER_04: I have, like I said in previous podcasts, I've gotten to a place where I need some more eyes inside of my business, other than just me, because I we're dealing with a lot of money, and it's the most money I've ever had to deal with, ever.
- 3:58SPEAKER_04: And it can be a little intimidating and scary.
- 4:04SPEAKER_04: We have, yeah, and that's just being real with you guys.
- 4:07SPEAKER_04: Like I'm being super, you guys know that I'm super transparent whenever it comes to my business that what I'm going through right now.
- 4:16SPEAKER_04: Not always will be, because how how else are, and that's my whole goal.
- 4:22SPEAKER_04: How else are you guys going to learn?
- 4:24SPEAKER_04: You know, and that's my whole goal is let's grow this together.
- 4:29SPEAKER_04: That is why I jumped at the opportunity to collaborate with Shannon to just, I can be the guinea pig and let's see where we can take this, you know?
- 4:42SPEAKER_04: And I'm still learning.
- 4:45SPEAKER_04: So February, yeah, you're falling off.
- 4:48SPEAKER_04: Your adrenaline, you feel like the adrenaline has died down.
- 4:54SPEAKER_04: Uh, you feel behind.
- 4:56SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna tell you you're not lazy.
- 4:58SPEAKER_04: It's not because you're lazy, it's because literally you have been building something.
- 5:04SPEAKER_04: You're all gung ho.
- 5:05SPEAKER_04: February is such a it's a tough one, isn't it?
- 5:10SPEAKER_04: You're tired because the business stopped running on a dear one.
- 5:14SPEAKER_04: February is where the business shows you what's actually holding it up, uh, all your attention.
- 5:23SPEAKER_04: I've been very transparent with that.
- 5:26SPEAKER_04: That has slowly crept into my home life.
- 5:30SPEAKER_04: This business demands all of my attention a lot.
- 5:36SPEAKER_04: However, there's things that I'm still able to do, like the kid drop-off, kid pickup, all the sporting events and helping with the homework and stuff.
- 5:46SPEAKER_04: I'm probably talking more about my own relationship-wise, and that's something that I, you know, I can work on, but it can happen to anybody, and it slowly creeps up on you.
- 5:58SPEAKER_04: Your decision making and your tolerance.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: I'm laughing about the tolerance because your tolerance becomes shorter and shorter and shorter as you start to move through things.
- 6:09SPEAKER_04: It most certainly does, it most certainly does.
- 6:12SPEAKER_04: And most of most owners are already thinking it, even if they won't say it.
- 6:20SPEAKER_04: If this already feels heavy, something's off.
- 6:24SPEAKER_04: How many times have we said that it's not panic, that's awareness, you guys.
- 6:28SPEAKER_04: I have come to learn and you know, I've only been open, you guys, for four years.
- 6:37SPEAKER_04: And I know I get a lot of people coming into my inbox, and I love it.
- 6:41SPEAKER_04: Don't don't get me wrong.
- 6:44SPEAKER_04: How did you get there so fast?
- 6:46SPEAKER_04: I was aware that I knew where I wanted to go, and I seen companies that I wanted to strive like that have been there and done it, and I forked over the money to have them help me get get there at a much faster rate.
- 7:03SPEAKER_04: I didn't want to sit there and try and figure it all out on my own.
- 7:08SPEAKER_04: I wanted to get there quick.
- 7:13SPEAKER_04: And now I'm totally this fourth year in, I'm totally aware whenever I start panicking, it's not, it's a different feel, it's a different type of panic.
- 7:28SPEAKER_04: It's not a panic like, oh my gosh, everything, mind you, I might feel like that for a split second, but I do know that there's a growth going on and I've caught it.
- 7:40SPEAKER_04: And now I've know that okay, it's time to take it to the next level, and that's what I'm doing.
- 7:48SPEAKER_04: And I'm hiring somebody to help look inside of my business and and help me and make sure that I am doing everything just so so that I don't topple over whenever I get to a million dollars.
- 8:07SPEAKER_04: That I'm not, it's not too soon, too fast.
- 8:11SPEAKER_04: Because believe it or not, you can grow too fast because you didn't have the right systems in place.
- 8:17SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 8:17SPEAKER_04: You didn't have the right, you can just topple over, yeah, great, you got to a million dollars really quick, but your company can't withstand that at that time.
- 8:28SPEAKER_04: So, and it can cause a lot of burnout doing this.
- 8:31SPEAKER_00: So there's a lot of baby steps that you know, I know Jamie's mentioning key points, but to get where she's at, there were a lot of baby steps that she took.
- 8:40SPEAKER_00: And I'm a firm believer that if as long as you take at least a small step every single day, you'll eventually get where you need to go.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: It's when you start to take really big steps without taking any small steps, then you end up toppling over and then having to autocorrect and then starting the process over again.
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: But and you hear this from everybody if you take the time to try to map out where you want to go or where you want to be, and and you can't write the novel backwards, even though that's what they recommend.
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: You have the end and then you write the whole story.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: I've seen a lot of really cool stories come out that way.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: But it's a conceptual thing.
- 9:16SPEAKER_00: So pick something and start small baby steps along the way to get you going where you need to go.
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: That's why Jamie is now having someone coach her in the next steps to make sure all her systems are in place for her business so that she can expand to the second location and do all of these other things that she has talked about.
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: So this isn't burnout, it's carrying too much.
- 9:37SPEAKER_00: Sometimes we can carry too much.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: February doesn't burn owners out, it wears them down.
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: So you're starting to get back into the grind of things.
- 9:46SPEAKER_00: The holidays were really chaotic.
- 9:48SPEAKER_00: A lot of you guys worked 31 days in a row.
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: Some of you were totally slow.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: It just depended on where you were in the country.
- 9:55SPEAKER_00: But it can wear you down.
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: And it's usually not with big problems, it's just with constant ones.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: So if you have a constant issue, you need to figure out how to get rid of that issue so it runs smoothly.
- 10:06SPEAKER_00: And you're deciding all day what to accept, what to ignore, what to fix later, what to absorb so things don't fall apart.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: But again, this goes back to systems.
- 10:16SPEAKER_00: And once you start to implement systems and having them in place and delegating to the right people, all that stuff becomes easy.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: I'm not I'm not kidding when I say it.
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: I know it seems like it's impossible based on whatever's going on in your life or your personal life or whatever, whatever you've got going on, it does eventually come full circle and you can you can get there.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: When everything requires you, nothing ever finish feels finished.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: And this is very true.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: If you are the major decision maker on every little thing, everyone's gonna say, Hey, Jamie, Jamie, Jamie, Jamie.
- 11:12SPEAKER_00: It's like going your mouth, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: Delegate and then let them make decisions, right?
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: You're helping them grow too as human beings.
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: And that's why February feels mentally loud, your brain never shuts off because you're still making all the decisions.
- 11:29SPEAKER_00: And this isn't a motivation problem, it's a structure problem, as we've stated over and over and over again.
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: I hope you guys are seeing the theme of these podcasts.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: So that you can you go, My gosh, this is what needs to be done.
- 11:42SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 11:44SPEAKER_04: So, and why does everything start feeling personal?
- 11:49SPEAKER_04: By February, small things hit harder.
- 11:53SPEAKER_04: You are a lot shorter than usual, more irritated than you want to be, less patient with things you should be able to handle.
- 12:00SPEAKER_04: I can tell you that Shannon and I are close enough now.
- 12:05SPEAKER_04: And that comes with a coach too.
- 12:08SPEAKER_04: So be prepared.
- 12:09SPEAKER_04: Prepare yourself to have some criticism.
- 12:13SPEAKER_04: And that I knew that that's what I need.
- 12:17SPEAKER_04: I needed somebody to criticise.
- 12:19SPEAKER_04: But her telling me sometime, you sound really tired.
- 12:22SPEAKER_04: You sound like you need to take a nap or or something.
- 12:26SPEAKER_04: It's like you need to walk away, time to time to cut everything off.
- 12:33SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 12:34SPEAKER_04: Yeah, no, yeah, no kidding.
- 12:36SPEAKER_04: You're right.
- 12:36SPEAKER_04: You're absolutely right.
- 12:38SPEAKER_04: That's a duh, that's exactly what's happening.
- 12:41SPEAKER_04: And it's not because you change, it's because you've been buffering impacts for weeks.
- 12:46SPEAKER_04: You guys, how many times are we like taking, we're putting out feels like we're putting out small fires constantly everywhere.
- 12:54SPEAKER_04: And if you're doing that, then your structure, your process, your system, something is not working right.
- 13:03SPEAKER_04: And you need to figure that out so that that's no longer a bottleneck in your company.
- 13:08SPEAKER_04: When expectations aren't clear, the owner becomes the shock absorber.
- 13:12SPEAKER_04: We take it all, we hear all of it.
- 13:18SPEAKER_04: And it does, it wears out.
- 13:20SPEAKER_04: That shock absorber that we have, it wears out because you can easily snap.
- 13:25SPEAKER_04: And it's hard to, my husband, he don't want to hear about the business anymore.
- 13:30SPEAKER_04: You know, I get it.
- 13:32SPEAKER_04: And so whenever you're at that stage of, and I totally understand, when you're at that stage, there's only certain people that like I can really, whenever it comes to talking about the business, is people that are in this business.
- 13:46SPEAKER_04: I talk to you guys a lot.
- 13:48SPEAKER_04: I talk to Shannon more than my own sister.
- 13:52SPEAKER_04: It really helps to have somebody to lean in on that in this industry.
- 13:59SPEAKER_04: The total that business owners that totally understand what you're going through right now.
- 14:04SPEAKER_04: Like we've been there.
- 14:05SPEAKER_04: I I've been there.
- 14:07SPEAKER_04: But February does expose where you're absorbing things the business should be handling for you.
- 14:13SPEAKER_04: And really, it comes down to a system thing.
- 14:16SPEAKER_04: I know that I can turn my phone off and it does, it goes on silent at 6 p.m.
- 14:22SPEAKER_04: Whatever phone calls that I get to schedule a walkthrough or a request or it can wait till tomorrow.
- 14:32SPEAKER_04: And if not, I have a system to where Miriam is one of my team leads, she she'll handle it and then let me know the next day.
- 14:43SPEAKER_04: My business isn't going to burn down.
- 14:45SPEAKER_04: I will keep my peace, my sanity, if that makes sense.
- 14:51SPEAKER_04: So yeah.
- 14:52SPEAKER_00: When you get to a certain point in your business, if you haven't already pre-planned for it, a lot of us have at least I've seen I because I I watch for patterns, right?
- 15:01SPEAKER_00: So a lot of us end up in the cleaning industry by default.
- 15:05SPEAKER_00: We usually have a trauma and we're trying to either escape something or survive something, is what I have seen.
- 15:10SPEAKER_00: And it's not true for everyone, it's just it's true for a lot of people.
- 15:13SPEAKER_00: So when you get to the CEO stage and resetting in February and all that other stuff, you you have to start to think of your business of what your business is gonna do for you.
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: And a lot of that business for initially, your your business is just gonna be your job, right?
- 15:27SPEAKER_00: Your business is just gonna provide you the cleaning tech job that you are and you're gonna be all the hats.
- 15:31SPEAKER_00: And then you're gonna transition, you're like, well, what's my business gonna do for me now?
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: Oh my God, I just I grow$750,000.
- 15:38SPEAKER_00: That means I got close to$100K.
- 15:40SPEAKER_00: If you're lucky and nothing screws anything up of potential income for myself, that's that was my job, right?
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: And then you hit the seven figure mark and you're like, yeah, this this is this is good.
- 15:49SPEAKER_00: If it runs right, I I'm getting 200K or you know, what whatever that is that you've decided what your margins are going to be.
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: And maybe your business is for you to start to buy condos and you get into short-term rental or you get a real estate license or you get into property management.
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: This is a stepping launching pad for multiple things, should you choose to want to do it.
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: And I'm just trying to make you aware that this isn't the end all be all.
- 16:13SPEAKER_00: This is a great industry.
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: We both love, love, love this industry.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: I feel very privileged to be here.
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: But start to think about what your business is going to do for you in one year, in three years, in five years.
- 16:25SPEAKER_00: I know it's talking about legacy, but it really can provide you.
- 16:29SPEAKER_00: You could sell the business.
- 16:32SPEAKER_00: A lot of people are doing that.
- 16:33SPEAKER_00: So you're you're starting to see micro businesses being eaten up by larger businesses.
- 16:37SPEAKER_00: You're starting to see larger businesses get even bigger without buying buying smaller businesses.
- 16:42SPEAKER_00: We're seeing all kinds of things.
- 16:43SPEAKER_00: You just have to kind of know where to look.
- 16:45SPEAKER_00: So start to think about what your business is going to do for you.
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: And February is the perfect month to start that off.
- 16:51SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 16:52SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 16:53SPEAKER_04: That's that's why I think Shannon named this a February reset.
- 17:01SPEAKER_04: I mean, and it's perfect.
- 17:02SPEAKER_04: It's it is.
- 17:03SPEAKER_04: It's a fresh start.
- 17:04SPEAKER_04: It's not a fresh start, it's a correction.
- 17:07SPEAKER_04: So that's we're auditing our own business right now.
- 17:12SPEAKER_04: You guys, I am auditing my business.
- 17:15SPEAKER_04: Like I know, and I know there's so much more potential that I can be doing.
- 17:21SPEAKER_04: And I'm ready.
- 17:22SPEAKER_04: I'm ready to take it on to that next level.
- 17:25SPEAKER_04: I think, but I want to make absolutely sure.
- 17:28SPEAKER_04: So I'm having somebody come in and basically audit my and you know what that feels like?
- 17:34SPEAKER_04: It feels like you're almost standing outside naked, like, hey, look at me, because uh I mean they go through and they look, but I need that, I need that criticism.
- 17:45SPEAKER_04: I need somebody to say, maybe I'm not ready for that second location, but what is the steps that I need to take in order to get to that second location?
- 17:59SPEAKER_04: What's that next step or hiring?
- 18:02SPEAKER_04: Am I ready to hire?
- 18:03SPEAKER_04: If I'm not, okay, can you help me tell me what I need to do in order to get there?
- 18:11SPEAKER_04: It's kind of like what I'm what I'm talking about is hiring a financial, almost kind of like a financial advisor, but they tell you kind of where you to put your money because that's where I'm at in my business.
- 18:24SPEAKER_04: Like, tell me where to put this money at so that I don't mess it up because I just want to make sure I don't mess it up.
- 18:31SPEAKER_04: So that's you know, that's where I'm at.
- 18:35SPEAKER_04: You don't need motivation speech.
- 18:38SPEAKER_04: I can't tell you how many times I listened to in the past.
- 18:42SPEAKER_04: I would listen to like I would resonate with that podcast or that book so good.
- 18:48SPEAKER_04: And then it's just sat there and I did nothing with it.
- 18:52SPEAKER_04: Like, oh my gosh, like I'm gonna do this.
- 18:55SPEAKER_04: I got this.
- 18:56SPEAKER_04: And it just sits there.
- 18:58SPEAKER_04: It's like, what is it?
- 18:59SPEAKER_04: Analysis paralysis.
- 19:01SPEAKER_04: And trust me, maybe that's where I'm stuck at right now, too, is I am at an analysis paralysis because I I want to make sure everything is structured just so, you know.
- 19:13SPEAKER_04: But at some point you need to pull that trigger.
- 19:15SPEAKER_04: Don't just take on listening to this podcast, and then that's a great idea, and not just let it sit in that bank of your head of yours.
- 19:25SPEAKER_04: Do something with it.
- 19:27SPEAKER_04: Take a little baby step forward and implement something.
- 19:31SPEAKER_04: You do need fewer things landing on you.
- 19:34SPEAKER_04: This month is about asking why does this still require my attention?
- 19:39SPEAKER_04: What should I already be decided?
- 19:42SPEAKER_04: What should already be decided?
- 19:44SPEAKER_04: And where am I the default solution?
- 19:48SPEAKER_04: February isn't about growth, it's about load-bearing issues.
- 19:54SPEAKER_04: It's an audit, it's an audit month, and you make sure that you have everything, all those February, all those goals that you you set for yourself.
- 20:07SPEAKER_04: February's an audit month where you need to look back and be like, okay, are we ready to do this?
- 20:14SPEAKER_04: Are we ready to move forward?
- 20:16SPEAKER_00: And you can also self-audit.
- 20:18SPEAKER_00: You don't have to have someone audit for you to see where there might be a deficiency.
- 20:24SPEAKER_00: And constructive criticism is good in any atmosphere.
- 20:26SPEAKER_00: It just don't take it personal.
- 20:28SPEAKER_00: Just how do I, how do I fix it, right?
- 20:30SPEAKER_00: And here's the part that no one glamorizes February is when owners realize that they're they've been overfunctioning.
- 20:36SPEAKER_00: I am guilty of overfunctioning.
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: I pumped out what was it, six books last month alone.
- 20:43SPEAKER_00: We did 11, like 11 podcasts or something like that, six books on Amazon.
- 20:47SPEAKER_00: I mean, it was just like talk about just it was just a constant like you don't, and then when then now February, I'm kind of decompressing.
- 20:57SPEAKER_00: I'm like, okay, what else do I need to get done out of my list?
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: And now and I'm and I have, I've started to decompress.
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: I'm like, okay, well, this is no longer functional, this is no longer functional, and I'm not gonna do that again.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: Who wants to it?
- 21:09SPEAKER_00: Let's be honest, the shower gods delivered great ideas, so I had to jump on it.
- 21:14SPEAKER_00: So and it and it went hand in hand with the the five phases of you as an entrepreneur.
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: So when you're over functioning, you're you're covering gaps, you're smoothing edges, like when you frost a cake, right?
- 21:24SPEAKER_00: We know that the cake is never smooth, that the frosting covers all the flaws.
- 21:28SPEAKER_00: You're like, yeah, look at that beautiful cake, but you don't know that there's a big pocket hole right in the center.
- 21:34SPEAKER_00: So you slice it and they're like, What's that thing, right?
- 21:37SPEAKER_00: Just wood, anyway.
- 21:39SPEAKER_00: And then taking responsibility for things that are technically aren't theirs.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: That's typical of another overachiever like myself.
- 21:46SPEAKER_00: You go, Oh, yeah, I'm really sorry about that, even though you had nothing to do with it.
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: And leadership changes when you stop asking, can I handle this?
- 21:52SPEAKER_00: And you start to delegate.
- 21:53SPEAKER_00: I mean, you need to start asking, should I be carrying this at all?
- 21:56SPEAKER_00: Again, delegation is key if you have the crew to do it.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: And you can take on any job, but not every client, because not every client is your friend.
- 22:05SPEAKER_00: No BFFs.
- 22:06SPEAKER_00: And and not every urgency and not every emotional weight is yours either.
- 22:10SPEAKER_00: You can kind of pass that on or don't accept it at all.
- 22:14SPEAKER_00: It's like the gift that keeps on giving, right?
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: And then choosing not to carry something is still leadership.
- 22:22SPEAKER_00: You can say no.
- 22:23SPEAKER_00: If you are having a hard time with saying no, practice in front of the mirror, no.
- 22:28SPEAKER_00: I do that with my almost 11-year-old.
- 22:30SPEAKER_00: No.
- 22:36SPEAKER_00: So if February feels heavy, you need to name one decision you're tired of making and see how you can give it to someone else to make that decision for you and identify one expectation that's unclear.
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: So if you constantly have a client who has eight dogs, four kids, and a husband, and they want their house to be hair-free, that's probably a really high expectation.
- 22:56SPEAKER_00: That's probably not a clear expectation.
- 22:58SPEAKER_00: Never happen.
- 22:59SPEAKER_00: Even with the roomba, you'll find the roomba on the corner wheezing.
- 23:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 23:06SPEAKER_00: They just sit there.
- 23:07SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 23:08SPEAKER_00: It's full hundred dollars for this room.
- 23:11SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah.
- 23:12SPEAKER_04: Well, it's we're dusting it.
- 23:14SPEAKER_00: So you need to remove one thing from your plate that doesn't belong there, and that's actually enough, right?
- 23:20SPEAKER_00: You don't need momentum, you just need margin, something to think.
- 23:23SPEAKER_00: About.
- 23:24SPEAKER_04: I agree.
- 23:25SPEAKER_04: Again, audit.
- 23:27SPEAKER_04: You need to audit your your your your business.
- 23:31SPEAKER_04: So February isn't here to discourage you guys at all.
- 23:34SPEAKER_04: It's here to mature the business.
- 23:37SPEAKER_04: You're starting to align things.
- 23:39SPEAKER_04: This is whenever you know we're using words like alignment.
- 23:43SPEAKER_04: And you know, it is.
- 23:46SPEAKER_04: I laugh because it's true.
- 23:48SPEAKER_04: It is.
- 23:50SPEAKER_04: You weren't using those words.
- 23:52SPEAKER_04: And I'm like, what the heck is alignment?
- 23:55SPEAKER_04: What the frick is alignment?
- 23:56SPEAKER_04: Now I get it.
- 23:58SPEAKER_04: So if things feel heavy now, it's because the business needs structure, not more effort.
- 24:05SPEAKER_04: Quit spitting on to that.
- 24:07SPEAKER_04: So much effort in trying to make this work, like, and start structuring it.
- 24:13SPEAKER_04: Start putting these thoughts somewhere.
- 24:18SPEAKER_04: So either in your CRM, let somebody know.
- 24:22SPEAKER_04: Let somebody help you come up with some ideas.
- 24:27SPEAKER_04: You know, chat can only do so much, too.
- 24:30SPEAKER_00: And really, there's only five, well, there's five major systems.
- 24:34SPEAKER_00: There's smaller systems that go inside the major systems.
- 24:36SPEAKER_00: There are client attraction, cleaning tech attraction, customer service, resolving payments, either payment out or payment in, and then SOPs, right?
- 24:47SPEAKER_00: Your standards, those are the five big ones.
- 24:50SPEAKER_00: So if you're if you're scrambling around going, oh my God, Jamie and Shannon said we need to do this audit.
- 24:55SPEAKER_00: I have no idea what I need to audit.
- 24:56SPEAKER_00: Those are the five biggies.
- 24:58SPEAKER_00: There's like a hundred other little teeny systems inside of those that you need or don't need, depending on where you're at in your business.
- 25:04SPEAKER_04: Just take a body step, baby step towards it.
- 25:08SPEAKER_04: Don't get overwhelmed with where I'm at might not be where you're at yet.
- 25:14SPEAKER_04: But if you keep keep at it, I promise you guys, you guys will get it.
- 25:18SPEAKER_04: You guys will get there.
- 25:19SPEAKER_04: You know, take heed on on what people are telling you.
- 25:23SPEAKER_04: Keep asking those questions.
- 25:25SPEAKER_04: I love that question over in the Maids Network about when she was only going to charge$300 for a deep clean and top to bottom to lugs out, everything.
- 25:34SPEAKER_04: Four bedrooms.
- 25:35SPEAKER_04: And I ended up, she, you know, we were all like, whoa, wait a minute.
- 25:40SPEAKER_04: And she goes, I did it.
- 25:42SPEAKER_04: And I just told her, you know, she ended up charging five.
- 25:45SPEAKER_04: I said, hold on to that moment because you know now you can get it.
- 25:49SPEAKER_04: And then there are clients out there that will just, you know, baby steps.
- 25:54SPEAKER_04: Keep asking those questions.
- 25:56SPEAKER_04: So if this month, this is the month to use what you already have and tighten it up.
- 26:04SPEAKER_04: Our business is a machine.
- 26:06SPEAKER_04: I think that you gotta go in there every now and again.
- 26:09SPEAKER_04: Sometimes a belt snap and you need to fix it, or it needs just like a car, it needs a tune-up.
- 26:19SPEAKER_04: It needs maintenance cleaning.
- 26:21SPEAKER_04: It needs not a maintenance cleaning.
- 26:23SPEAKER_04: I'm so used to saying that maintenance.
- 26:25SPEAKER_04: It needs maintenance for preventative to keep it functioning top notch and going.
- 26:31SPEAKER_04: Same with the business.
- 26:33SPEAKER_04: It is like that.
- 26:34SPEAKER_04: If you think of it like a machine, and no, okay, if I don't want this to happen, I need to have this in place.
- 26:42SPEAKER_04: Little small steps, don't go trying to make huge giant steps because I'm telling you, you'll have to go back and start over at the start line until you get it right.
- 26:53SPEAKER_04: Don't take huge leaps trying to, you know.
- 26:57SPEAKER_04: I do feel like though sometimes this business is like you're trying to do a pull-up and you never worked those muscles before.
- 27:07SPEAKER_04: You gotta train them.
- 27:08SPEAKER_04: You gotta train those muscles to do what you want to do to do that chin up.
- 27:14SPEAKER_04: So tighten it up, whatever's loose.
- 27:18SPEAKER_04: Stop carrying what you were never meant to hold.
- 27:22SPEAKER_04: Mic drop.
- 27:24SPEAKER_00: I love it.
- 27:25SPEAKER_00: We do have one sponsorship spot that is open.
- 27:28SPEAKER_00: If this is something uh and we serve cleaning business owners, and if you want to reach this audience, please reach out to Jamie or myself.
- 27:34SPEAKER_00: We're happy to walk you through the process.
- 27:36SPEAKER_00: Don't forget to leave us a five-star review and share this with another cleaning business owner who might need this information.
- 27:43SPEAKER_00: As always, we love you and thanks for tuning in.
