- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome to another Radio Archive Hour from Phil Henry's Radio
- 0:02Speaker 1: Hall of Fame show. This guy, Phil Henry, oh, that's me,
- 0:05Speaker 1: has a radio archive. We've got three of them a
- 0:08Speaker 1: day for you here on our website. So you can
- 0:10Speaker 1: check it out at philhenryshow.com or listen here to your
- 0:13Speaker 1: favorite podcast feed and hear these great Radio Archive Hours.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Today we've got Steve Bozell. This is from February 2005.
- 0:19Speaker 1: This was another great month for material. And Steve Bozell,
- 0:23Speaker 1: of course, is the moron that just keeps on giving.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Here's Steve suing his nephew... because his nephew pointed at
- 0:30Speaker 1: him below his waist and said, shooting blanks. Steve feels
- 0:34Speaker 1: the aunt taught the nephew this, and it has to
- 0:36Speaker 1: do with some kind of an automobile accident, and it's
- 0:40Speaker 1: the wonderful world of Steve Bozell.
- 0:42Speaker 2: It's a euphemism for a man not being able to,
- 0:46Speaker 2: the phrase is shooting blanks, right?
- 0:47Speaker 3: That is correct, yeah. And it's, as you said, Phil,
- 0:50Speaker 3: it's well known to a lot of people, you know,
- 0:53Speaker 3: as a phrase, a euphemism for a man who... is
- 0:55Speaker 3: unable to, his sperm count is low. So they use
- 0:58Speaker 3: the phrase, shoot blanks. And I had talked to our GP,
- 1:03Speaker 3: and I had been in for the septian test, which
- 1:05Speaker 3: is a more advanced kind of test on this. But
- 1:13Speaker 3: it's traumatic, you know, when you hear them tell you that.
- 1:16Speaker 3: And then certainly coming from my nephew, who was a
- 1:20Speaker 3: little boy of five, I was very good friends with
- 1:22Speaker 3: his father. and I was driving the car the night
- 1:25Speaker 3: that his father died. And I suppose it sticks with me,
- 1:29Speaker 3: you know. Was he trying to, on purpose, hurt me?
- 1:35Speaker 2: This is a tragic story, too, by the way.
- 1:37Speaker 3: It is very tragic, but we're a close family.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Now, your wife and her sister, Janine?
- 1:43Speaker 3: My wife, April's sister is named Janine, and Christian is
- 1:46Speaker 3: her son. He's our nephew.
- 1:48Speaker 2: All right, and her husband was a good friend of yours?
- 1:50Speaker 3: He was, yeah. Rick was.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Worked with me, worked with a couple of companies that
- 1:58Speaker 3: I do business with, and we were very good friends.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Can you tell me the circumstances of his death? You
- 2:06Speaker 2: guys were together driving?
- 2:08Speaker 3: Yes, sir. We've been drinking, and we just, you know,
- 2:15Speaker 3: I got a corner too close. I was coming up,
- 2:18Speaker 3: if you know the road up here, it's called Divine,
- 2:21Speaker 3: and it's right up here in Thousand Oaks.
- 2:25Speaker 2: And you, and he died?
- 2:27Speaker 3: That is correct, yeah.
- 2:28Speaker 2: You say you were drinking?
- 2:30Speaker 3: We were both drinking. We both had been drinking. So
- 2:33Speaker 3: I've tried since then to.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Were you charged with any crime in relation to this?
- 2:39Speaker 3: No. Well, the police knew that I'd been drinking, and
- 2:44Speaker 3: they charged me with manslaughter, but they, our attorney, my attorney,
- 2:49Speaker 3: Dolores Blazingame, was able to, we were able to plead
- 2:54Speaker 3: that out to a probation and And what I've done
- 2:56Speaker 3: since then is I've been a very good, I think,
- 2:58Speaker 3: a surrogate father to Christian. Just one of those things that,
- 3:03Speaker 3: you know, happens. His father died. Could have been him driving,
- 3:06Speaker 3: not just me, you know.
- 3:08Speaker 2: All right, so you've taken this little boy on, in
- 3:12Speaker 2: a way, as a surrogate father. He's with his mother, right?
- 3:14Speaker 2: They don't live with you, do they?
- 3:15Speaker 3: Oh, no, they don't live. They live on their own.
- 3:16Speaker 3: But they're over at our house a lot. They were
- 3:19Speaker 3: over here yesterday, and we had a Super Bowl party,
- 3:21Speaker 3: and that's when he said what he said. And when
- 3:24Speaker 3: I come back from the doctor, I know that my
- 3:26Speaker 3: wife shares with her sister this information. And obviously, Janine
- 3:32Speaker 3: told Christian, or he overheard it.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Well, he came out in the backyard, this little, how
- 3:38Speaker 2: old is he?
- 3:38Speaker 3: He's five.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Five-year-old boy comes out in the backyard and does what?
- 3:43Speaker 3: I was out near the barbecue, and we had probably
- 3:45Speaker 3: about 20 people over for the game. And he pointed
- 3:48Speaker 3: at me, you know, pointed at the lower part of
- 3:50Speaker 3: my body, and he said, shooting blanks. And, of course,
- 3:55Speaker 3: you know, when something like that happens to you, you're
- 3:57Speaker 3: a little stunned, you know, because you've been trying. I
- 4:03Speaker 3: try to be good to the boy, and for him
- 4:06Speaker 3: to do that.
- 4:07Speaker 2: How long have you been, your wife, been trying to conceive?
- 4:09Speaker 2: You have kids, right?
- 4:10Speaker 3: We have two, yeah. But over the last year, it's
- 4:13Speaker 3: been very difficult, and that's when I went and had
- 4:15Speaker 3: the test. And I had, like I said, the Septian test,
- 4:18Speaker 3: which is a... a more advanced sperm count test. The
- 4:22Speaker 3: doctor told me that I had a low pre-test level,
- 4:26Speaker 3: which means basically I'm not producing enough to create an
- 4:35Speaker 3: environment for her to be pregnant. So to make a
- 4:38Speaker 3: long story short, all of this gets shared, I guess,
- 4:42Speaker 3: with her sister, and somehow the little boy hears it,
- 4:44Speaker 3: and he comes out, and there are about five, six
- 4:46Speaker 3: people standing there, and he points down at my you
- 4:50Speaker 3: know what, shooting blanks. And so I instinctively picked him
- 4:56Speaker 3: up and I spanked him.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Does she let you, first of all, does Janine allow
- 5:02Speaker 2: you to punish the boy?
- 5:04Speaker 3: Well, I mean, she's my sister-in-law and we have, I mean,
- 5:08Speaker 3: I've never spanked the boy before. But for him to
- 5:11Speaker 3: say shooting blanks, and the other thing is, I know
- 5:16Speaker 3: he blames me, or maybe he blames me, for the
- 5:19Speaker 3: death of his father. I don't know.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Do you feel at all responsible for the death of
- 5:23Speaker 2: his father? You say you were drinking.
- 5:24Speaker 3: Well, it could have been him driving. It's just one
- 5:26Speaker 3: of those things. You know, I'm not... I mean, do
- 5:29Speaker 3: I feel responsible? I'm sorry it happened, but we were
- 5:33Speaker 3: both drunk. I mean, he could have been driving. It
- 5:36Speaker 3: just so happens I had, you know, it was my car.
- 5:41Speaker 5: And.
- 5:42Speaker 2: And so you feel his nephew, I mean his son,
- 5:45Speaker 2: your nephew, blames you for the death of his father?
- 5:47Speaker 3: I think so, and I think those are the little
- 5:49Speaker 3: things that they do to try to get back at you,
- 5:51Speaker 3: and that's why I contacted my attorney, because I think
- 5:53Speaker 3: I've got to draw a line at some of this.
- 5:56Speaker 2: All right, our number is 1-800-449-8686. Phil Henry's show, speaking
- 6:00Speaker 2: with a construction contractor, Mr. Stephen Bozell from Corona, California,
- 6:05Speaker 2: who is contemplating a first-ever lawsuit. against a minor child. Now,
- 6:10Speaker 2: don't you think it would be better to file the
- 6:13Speaker 2: suit against his mother or against your wife?
- 6:17Speaker 3: Well, I would accept. He's going to grow up someday
- 6:24Speaker 3: and be a man, and he's going to possibly, as
- 6:30Speaker 3: a man, blame me for the death of his father.
- 6:33Speaker 3: It's better to handle it now while he's a little boy.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Well, if you sue him, if you sue a five-year-old
- 6:40Speaker 2: boy and you win, you're not going to get anything
- 6:43Speaker 2: other than the assets of the mother, right?
- 6:46Speaker 3: No, and it's not all I want. It entered in
- 6:47Speaker 3: the court record that I beat him in a lawsuit
- 6:49Speaker 3: so that when he gets old enough and he starts
- 6:53Speaker 3: thinking I was responsible for the death of his father,
- 6:56Speaker 3: he won't even try anything because I already sued him
- 6:58Speaker 3: one time, see?
- 6:59Speaker 2: All right, well, if you folks are joining us today,
- 7:03Speaker 2: You felt humiliated that this little boy pointed at you
- 7:05Speaker 2: and said shooting blanks because he knows that you're unable
- 7:07Speaker 2: to have kids. Is that right?
- 7:08Speaker 3: Well, I'm right now. I mean, I'm pre-test. But he
- 7:13Speaker 3: said you're shooting blanks, and I think it's because he's
- 7:17Speaker 3: angry at me. He's trying to get back at me
- 7:20Speaker 3: for his daddy dying. Now, I would never.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Don't you feel a little silly, Sue, in a kid, though?
- 7:26Speaker 3: Well, it's the only thing I could do because, like
- 7:29Speaker 3: I said, you've got to stop it now. uh we
- 7:32Speaker 3: know from the bible if i could quote the bible
- 7:35Speaker 3: for a moment mr henry that king herod went around
- 7:37Speaker 3: and he tried to kill off all the little babies
- 7:39Speaker 3: because he was afraid he's going to grow up and
- 7:41Speaker 3: become a man and one of them was jesus see
- 7:44Speaker 3: now that wasn't right or anything but in a lot
- 7:45Speaker 3: of ways you have to kind of if he grows
- 7:48Speaker 3: up and he thinks i killed his dad or whatever
- 7:51Speaker 3: and he comes after me with a knife one night
- 7:53Speaker 3: or something then i'll i've already sued him so he
- 7:56Speaker 3: knows i've you.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Know I mean, if he's angry at you and wants
- 8:01Speaker 2: to come after you with a knife, he's going to
- 8:03Speaker 2: come after you with a knife. Just because you sued
- 8:05Speaker 2: him when he was four.
- 8:07Speaker 3: Well, he'll know that it had been settled in a
- 8:08Speaker 3: legal way. So the only other thing he'd be able
- 8:10Speaker 3: to do is illegal.
- 8:13Speaker 2: All right, so you felt very humiliated, this little boy
- 8:17Speaker 2: saying you're shooting blanks in front of everybody because he
- 8:19Speaker 2: heard this from his mother. And you don't feel responsible
- 8:24Speaker 2: for the death of his father at all.
- 8:25Speaker 3: No, I don't want to go down that road. See,
- 8:28Speaker 3: people have been trying to tell me, well, you guys
- 8:29Speaker 3: were drinking. I said, yeah, and you were driving.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Well, you were drunk the night that you wrecked the car,
- 8:34Speaker 2: and this little boy's father died. But you don't feel responsible. No,
- 8:40Speaker 2: you've made that very clear. You don't feel responsible. You
- 8:42Speaker 2: think that he could have been driving and so on
- 8:44Speaker 2: and so forth, okay? But you still think in the
- 8:46Speaker 2: back of your mind, The family blames you somehow. See,
- 8:49Speaker 2: I knew a family back east. And this was an
- 8:53Speaker 2: interesting situation where the two men had been business partners.
- 8:57Speaker 2: One of the men fell out of a boat and
- 8:58Speaker 2: drowned one afternoon when they were fishing together. The other
- 9:02Speaker 2: side of the business, which would be that man's family,
- 9:05Speaker 2: never did trust the other family to do right. So
- 9:08Speaker 2: they always had somebody in their business. Do you think
- 9:10Speaker 2: that this is the case? Do you think that the
- 9:11Speaker 2: little boy is somehow at the age of five?
- 9:14Speaker 3: Well, you know, here's the thing. You know, I look
- 9:19Speaker 3: at the way he looks at me, and I always
- 9:21Speaker 3: try to be good to him and everything, but I
- 9:22Speaker 3: know the way he looks at me, man, he'd slit
- 9:24Speaker 3: my throat. I'll tell you right now, he'd slit it
- 9:27Speaker 3: from ear to ear.
- 9:29Speaker 2: And he's five.
- 9:30Speaker 3: Well, I know he's five, and I understand that, but
- 9:33Speaker 3: if he can understand his mother and his aunt saying,
- 9:37Speaker 3: you know, that Uncle Steve's shooting blanks, okay, so if
- 9:41Speaker 3: I can sue him now.
- 9:44Speaker 3: I can cut it off pretty good, and he won't
- 9:46Speaker 3: think about making a move on me later. I've got
- 9:49Speaker 3: to keep from making his move.
- 9:52Speaker 2: All right, 1-800-449-8686. Pete?
- 9:56Speaker 3: Hello?
- 9:57Speaker 2: Yes, sir, go ahead.
- 9:58Speaker 7: Yeah, I feel like... some of the guy's language needs
- 10:03Speaker 7: to be interrogated here. He's used a couple of times
- 10:06Speaker 7: the fact that if he sues the little boy in
- 10:08Speaker 7: a court of law that this will handle the issue.
- 10:11Speaker 7: But this is a 5-year-old child, and he doesn't have
- 10:13Speaker 7: any agency in what's about to happen to him.
- 10:15Speaker 3: So how is he going to feel later on?
- 10:19Speaker 7: That any of this had any kind of import to him.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Well, he'll know that he was already legally dealt with
- 10:24Speaker 3: on this issue.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Well, no, he's being legally dealt with on the issue
- 10:28Speaker 2: of saying that you're shooting blanks.
- 10:30Speaker 7: Yeah, that has nothing to do with, A, him losing
- 10:33Speaker 7: his father, and B, him even understanding what legally dealt
- 10:38Speaker 7: with means at five years old.
- 10:39Speaker 3: I understand that, but at least it's entered into the
- 10:42Speaker 3: court record that I came at him, okay?
- 10:46Speaker 2: And when you say you came at him.
- 10:47Speaker 3: Well, he's going to be a man someday. All right?
- 10:50Speaker 3: And he won't care whether I was good to him
- 10:53Speaker 3: as a little boy or not. All he'll think about was,
- 10:55Speaker 3: you were driving the night my daddy died, okay?
- 10:56Speaker 7: Okay, can I ask a question now?
- 10:57Speaker 3: So it's going to be the court record that at
- 10:59Speaker 3: least I come at him. See what I'm saying?
- 11:01Speaker 2: Well, go ahead, Pete.
- 11:02Speaker 7: Well, I'm saying, like, he's going to feel like at
- 11:05Speaker 7: least it was entered in the court record. I think
- 11:07Speaker 7: it pretty much stands on fact that if somebody is
- 11:09Speaker 7: going to, quote-unquote, be a man and assert themselves that way...
- 11:13Speaker 7: They don't really care at all what's happening in a court,
- 11:16Speaker 7: in a living room, or anywhere. I mean, this is
- 11:18Speaker 7: not going to slow this kid down at all. And
- 11:21Speaker 7: I'm sorry, I know you have other callers to take,
- 11:23Speaker 7: but the last thing I want to say is, if
- 11:24Speaker 7: we're going to quote the Bible, you know, let's align
- 11:29Speaker 7: ourselves with people like Jesus rather than people like Herod.
- 11:31Speaker 3: What about King Herod? There's a guy, he went out,
- 11:33Speaker 3: he tried to take care of business.
- 11:34Speaker 7: But King Herod was wrong. That's the whole point of
- 11:37Speaker 7: that biblical story. Don't you understand that?
- 11:39Speaker 3: No, no, wait. Let's look at this. He was wrong
- 11:42Speaker 3: from your standpoint. From his standpoint, he's just taking care
- 11:44Speaker 3: of business.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Well, what do you mean taking care? He's killing all
- 11:47Speaker 2: the kids. He's killing children. In other words, he's killing innocents.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Forget about winners. It's moral. Let's talk about innocent people
- 11:54Speaker 2: who had no blood on their own hands.
- 11:57Speaker 3: Well, that's different with this little boy. He's looking at me. Man,
- 12:00Speaker 3: he'd slit my throat.
- 12:03Speaker 7: Do you think that he understands issues like that? I
- 12:05Speaker 7: have a five and a six-year-old. They don't understand this stuff.
- 12:08Speaker 3: You never know. These kids today, the way they're raised,
- 12:11Speaker 3: things they know.
- 12:12Speaker 2: All right, Pete, I've got to take a break. I
- 12:14Speaker 2: appreciate your call, sir.
- 12:15Speaker 8: I understand.
- 12:15Speaker 2: Thanks for your time. Thank you.
- 12:18Speaker 3: 1-800-449-8686.
- 12:18Speaker 4: 1-800.
- 12:18Speaker 2: I just turned my own microphone off, bud. Boy, that's
- 12:20Speaker 2: all-time retard. I just turned my own mic.
- 12:23Speaker 3: 1-800-449-8686.
- 12:23Speaker 2: Now, this gentleman, Mr. Bozell, is suing his five-year-old nephew.
- 12:30Speaker 2: for pointing out in front of a party full of
- 12:32Speaker 2: people that Mr. Bozell is, quote, shooting blanks, end quote,
- 12:36Speaker 2: which is a euphemism for a man who is sterile,
- 12:38Speaker 2: if you will, unable to father a child. Mr. Bozell
- 12:42Speaker 2: believes that this is in part because he was at
- 12:46Speaker 2: the wheel four years ago when that boy's father was killed.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Mr.
- 12:50Speaker 2: Bozell and the man, good friends, both of them had
- 12:53Speaker 2: been drinking. Mr. Bozell was driving, and the young boy's
- 12:56Speaker 2: father died. He thinks the child is being malicious.
- 13:00Speaker 9: 1-800-449-8686.
- 13:00Speaker 2: The Phil Henry Show. The Phil Henry Show.
- 13:02Speaker 3: 1-800-449-8686.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Car dealers in our next life.
- 13:40Speaker 8: The Phil Henry Show is back.
- 13:42Speaker 7: 1-800-449-8686.
- 13:44Speaker 2: You talked to your attorney. I'm talking with Stephen Bozell
- 13:47Speaker 2: of Corona, California.
- 13:48Speaker 4: Mr.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Bozell is a construction contractor who is filing a lawsuit
- 13:54Speaker 2: against Christian Conner. Is your nephew's name correct?
- 14:00Speaker 3: That is correct.
- 14:01Speaker 2: And his father was Rick? His father was Rick Conner, yes.
- 14:05Speaker 2: And Rick was a friend of yours who died in
- 14:07Speaker 2: the same automobile you were driving, the both of you
- 14:09Speaker 2: having been drinking that night five years ago up here in,
- 14:12Speaker 2: you say, in Thousand Oaks, California.
- 14:13Speaker 3: Yes, sir. And they're in a day that goes by
- 14:17Speaker 3: that I don't think about, Rick, and I've tried to
- 14:19Speaker 3: be a good father to Christian. You know, a surrogate
- 14:21Speaker 3: father will never replace his real father, that's for sure.
- 14:26Speaker 3: But what I was telling you is.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Now tell me about when he came out and he said,
- 14:30Speaker 2: shooting blanks, the little boy five, because you'd been to
- 14:33Speaker 2: the doctor, you found out that you are... What is
- 14:35Speaker 2: the word anyway?
- 14:36Speaker 3: Well, it's low sperm count. I mean, they don't use
- 14:38Speaker 3: the word sterile anymore. They say, you know, a low count,
- 14:43Speaker 3: that kind of thing. But he came out, he pointed,
- 14:45Speaker 3: he said sterile. I spoke with my attorney. My attorney, Ms. Blazingame, said,
- 14:50Speaker 3: how did the people around you react? And she said,
- 14:53Speaker 3: be specific. I said, well, a couple of them laughed.
- 14:56Speaker 3: She said, no, specifically what happened? I said, well, they laughed.
- 15:00Speaker 3: And then she asked me, you know, what were the
- 15:01Speaker 3: physical reactions? I didn't know what she meant, but she said,
- 15:05Speaker 3: in a court of law, this is very important, this
- 15:07Speaker 3: response the little boy got when he looked down at
- 15:10Speaker 3: your thing, and he said, shooting blanks. I said, well,
- 15:18Speaker 3: Cliff Pettigrew, who was a friend of mine, laughed and
- 15:20Speaker 3: some beer. came came out of his nose i said
- 15:24Speaker 3: and she said okay that's.
- 15:25Speaker 2: That's this is your attorney's asking you this my.
- 15:27Speaker 3: Attorney's asking me literally what was the physical so i
- 15:30Speaker 3: said pettigrew laughed to the point where beer squirted out
- 15:32Speaker 3: of his nose and somebody else uh had to remove
- 15:36Speaker 3: themselves from the room because they i guess they laughed
- 15:39Speaker 3: so hard they said they they uh had to go
- 15:43Speaker 3: to the bathroom and clean themselves up so there was
- 15:46Speaker 3: uproarious laughter yeah absolutely She said, okay, good, we can
- 15:50Speaker 3: use that. We can use that. That proves malicious intent
- 15:53Speaker 3: on the kid. Now you got something.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Now, the reason why you're suing this little boy is
- 15:57Speaker 2: because you want to make your move now before this
- 15:59Speaker 2: kid gets older, because then he's going to respond as
- 16:02Speaker 2: a man, and it could be a lot more dangerous.
- 16:04Speaker 3: That is correct. All right, hold on.
- 16:06Speaker 2: I want to get to some phone calls.
- 16:07Speaker 5: 1-800-449-8686.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Kathy, go ahead. You're on with Steve Bozell.
- 16:11Speaker 6: Yeah, thanks for taking my call.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Yes, ma'am.
- 16:14Speaker 6: I just, I can't believe this whole thing, actually. I
- 16:18Speaker 6: think your guest's response is rather childish myself. I mean,
- 16:24Speaker 6: why didn't you, did it never occur to you that
- 16:28Speaker 6: maybe the little boy didn't really understand what he was saying?
- 16:31Speaker 6: I mean, kids say stuff that, you know, they don't
- 16:34Speaker 6: really understand what it means.
- 16:36Speaker 3: Well, I've seen him staring at me. I've seen him
- 16:38Speaker 3: staring at me.
- 16:40Speaker 6: I mean, this just sounds like a very childish response
- 16:43Speaker 6: on your part. Why didn't you just take the little
- 16:45Speaker 6: kid off? privately and explain to him why he shouldn't
- 16:48Speaker 6: have said that.
- 16:49Speaker 3: Well, here's the thing.
- 16:50Speaker 6: I mean, it just seems to me a more adult
- 16:52Speaker 6: way of handling the situation than suing a five-year-old child.
- 16:56Speaker 3: Yeah, but you've got to understand, he's going to be
- 16:57Speaker 3: a man someday, and he's going to come at me.
- 17:00Speaker 6: How do you know that? You don't know that. He's
- 17:02Speaker 6: a five-year-old kid.
- 17:03Speaker 3: If I was him, I don't know if you saw
- 17:05Speaker 3: the Sopranos episode, and I don't want to boil it
- 17:07Speaker 3: down to television, Mr. Henry, but in the Sopranos, very clearly,
- 17:10Speaker 3: Christopher Monticelli, or I forget his name.
- 17:15Speaker 3: He says, is that the guy that killed my father?
- 17:17Speaker 3: And Tony says, yeah. He goes in and he shoots
- 17:19Speaker 3: the guy. Wait a minute.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Are you afraid there's going to be revenge? Hold on.
- 17:23Speaker 2: I'm sorry, Kathy. I just want to ask. Are you
- 17:25Speaker 2: saying there's going to be revenge?
- 17:28Speaker 3: The way that kid looks at me now, he'll look
- 17:31Speaker 3: at me sometimes with his mouth open and his eyes wide.
- 17:34Speaker 2: That's the way kids look at adults. Because they watch
- 17:37Speaker 2: what we do because they want to mimic what we do.
- 17:40Speaker 6: And especially when adults are acting.
- 17:43Speaker 3: Yeah, but he's got... I saw him holding a... He
- 17:46Speaker 3: had his hand gripped around a pencil the way you
- 17:51Speaker 3: would hold a knife.
- 17:53Speaker 6: I think you're reading too much into this. I really do.
- 17:56Speaker 6: He's a five-year-old kid, for crying out loud.
- 17:58Speaker 3: Okay, but you know that some boys grow up and
- 18:00Speaker 3: then they avenge their fathers.
- 18:02Speaker 6: And I think it's just that, you know, you're reacting
- 18:05Speaker 6: because he basically, you know, attacked your manhood.
- 18:09Speaker 3: Yeah, but you know what? This kid, given half a chance,
- 18:12Speaker 3: if we were alone together... Even though he's five and
- 18:14Speaker 3: even though I'm a full-grown man, I think he'd try
- 18:17Speaker 3: to make a move. And I've got to.
- 18:20Speaker 6: Well, why don't you take him out and shoot him then?
- 18:23Speaker 6: You know, I mean, you know.
- 18:24Speaker 3: Ma'am, I'm not a lawbreaker. I'm trying to do it
- 18:26Speaker 3: as legally.
- 18:27Speaker 9: As I can.
- 18:27Speaker 2: What do you mean?
- 18:28Speaker 1: He's five.
- 18:28Speaker 2: He's going to make a move?
- 18:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:30Speaker 2: What could he do?
- 18:31Speaker 3: There's anything a kid can do. You don't know. They
- 18:35Speaker 3: can keep you up all night crying. And then you
- 18:38Speaker 3: don't get no sleep. You get pneumonia. You die. Things
- 18:39Speaker 3: like that.
- 18:41Speaker 6: I think instead of going to a lawyer, you should
- 18:43Speaker 6: have gone to a counselor.
- 18:46Speaker 10: Thank you.
- 18:46Speaker 3: Bye.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Well, thank you very much, Kathy.
- 18:48Speaker 3: 1-800-449-8686.
- 18:48Speaker 2: I'll go over here to Tony.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 18:52Speaker 2: You're on the Phil Henry Show, Tony.
- 18:54Speaker 3: Hi, Phil. Yes, sir.
- 18:55Speaker 5: Steven, I'm a camp counselor, and I've worked with kids
- 18:59Speaker 5: 4 to 16.
- 19:00Speaker 3: You're what kind of counselor? I'm sorry.
- 19:03Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm a camp counselor.
- 19:04Speaker 3: Okay.
- 19:05Speaker 5: I've worked with kids 4 to 16, and I've seen
- 19:09Speaker 5: every possible family case. Crisis, abuse, you know, kids wanting
- 19:13Speaker 5: to commit suicide.
- 19:14Speaker 3: Have you ever heard of a five-year-old going after a.
- 19:18Speaker 3: I mean, you know what I'm saying?
- 19:21Speaker 5: I've been listening, and I hear what you're saying. And
- 19:24Speaker 5: don't get me wrong, I hear what you're saying, but
- 19:28Speaker 5: what I think... I'm sorry, what?
- 19:30Speaker 3: I said I'm a little worried.
- 19:32Speaker 5: Okay, well, can you listen to me for a sec?
- 19:34Speaker 3: I just want to know, have you ever heard of
- 19:36Speaker 3: a five-year-old slitting a man's throat? No, have you? No,
- 19:40Speaker 3: I haven't, but that's why I'm asking you.
- 19:42Speaker 5: I've never heard of a five-year-old flitting a grown man's throat,
- 19:48Speaker 5: but listen, can you just listen to what? I've learned
- 19:50Speaker 5: from my experiences with kids?
- 19:53Speaker 3: Can you listen? Yes, sir.
- 19:55Speaker 5: A five-year-old boy.
- 19:56Speaker 3: I'll tell you one thing right now. I don't want
- 19:57Speaker 3: to be the first. That's all I'm trying to say.
- 19:59Speaker 4: Okay, I understand.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Listen to this man because he's got some experience with kids.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Go ahead, Tony.
- 20:05Speaker 5: A five-year-old boy and any five-year-old child, kids... Any kid
- 20:09Speaker 5: is like a sponge. They're going to hear something and
- 20:12Speaker 5: repeat it. Now, I understand that you feel like he
- 20:15Speaker 5: was attacking you, fine. But do you really think that
- 20:18Speaker 5: when he gets older and he looks back on this,
- 20:21Speaker 5: and when he really starts to understand, because I don't
- 20:24Speaker 5: think he does right now, when he looks back and understands,
- 20:28Speaker 5: begins to understand, do you think that by seeing that
- 20:30Speaker 5: you sued him when he was five years old, that
- 20:33Speaker 5: that's going to put him at ease and that's going
- 20:35Speaker 5: to make him feel any better?
- 20:36Speaker 3: Well, at least he'll know that I came at him,
- 20:42Speaker 3: is all I'm saying. Why are you coming at him?
- 20:45Speaker 3: That I made the first move. Because either he makes
- 20:48Speaker 3: the first move or I make the first move.
- 20:52Speaker 2: All right.
- 20:52Speaker 4: 1-800-449.
- 20:53Speaker 2: Thank you, Tony. 1-800-449-8686. Steven Bozell suing his five-year-old nephew,
- 20:57Speaker 2: The Phil Henry Show.
- 21:05Speaker 8: Thank you. The Phil Henry Show is back.
- 21:36Speaker 9: 1-800-449-8686.
- 21:36Speaker 8: I just want to ask you, Mr.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Muzzillo, where are you from originally?
- 21:41Speaker 3: I'm sorry?
- 21:42Speaker 2: Where are you originally from? You're not originally from California,
- 21:44Speaker 2: are you?
- 21:45Speaker 4: No, sir.
- 21:45Speaker 3: I'm really from Knoxville, Tennessee. And we've been here about
- 21:49Speaker 3: seven years. I brought my business out here seven years
- 21:52Speaker 3: ago with a partner. And then I took over the
- 21:54Speaker 3: business four years ago. And, Mr.
- 21:56Speaker 2: Conner, anyway, I don't want to get off sidetracked. So
- 21:58Speaker 2: you have mentioned that this five-year-old nephew that you're suing
- 22:02Speaker 2: because he came out in the backyard and pointed at
- 22:06Speaker 2: your crotch and said, shooting blanks, knowing that you're not
- 22:10Speaker 2: able to have children. You're suing him because you feel
- 22:14Speaker 2: all of this in the back of that little boy's
- 22:17Speaker 2: mind is the death of his father that night you
- 22:19Speaker 2: were driving the car.
- 22:21Speaker 3: Well, yeah. See, it's not so much anything that little
- 22:25Speaker 3: boy does, Phil. I've got to stop right now because
- 22:30Speaker 3: when he becomes a man... If he looks back and goes, well,
- 22:33Speaker 3: he sued me a couple times, he knows, you know,
- 22:36Speaker 3: what's going on. Now, you can, you know, I know,
- 22:40Speaker 3: and I've been talking to a lot of the callers.
- 22:42Speaker 2: I mean, I've got the brief here from your attorney,
- 22:44Speaker 2: and I do want to get to some phone calls.
- 22:47Speaker 3: But the thing you won't see in a brief is
- 22:50Speaker 3: that boy, there's a lot that a kid can do.
- 22:52Speaker 3: And I've looked at it. I will not allow him.
- 22:55Speaker 3: you know, to be behind me in a car seat.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Well, we talked to your attorney. Your attorney said that
- 23:00Speaker 2: the child is never allowed to be sat in a
- 23:02Speaker 2: car seat behind you.
- 23:04Speaker 3: That is correct. Why? Because he's behind me. I can't
- 23:08Speaker 3: see behind me what he might do.
- 23:10Speaker 2: What could the kid do?
- 23:11Speaker 10: Mr.
- 23:11Speaker 3: Turner, let me tell you something. Even if he's in
- 23:13Speaker 3: a car seat, he could drive a pencil right into
- 23:16Speaker 3: the medulla oblongata, which is at the base of the brain.
- 23:20Speaker 2: Are you telling me a little five-year-old boy is going
- 23:22Speaker 2: to take a pencil and drive it right into the
- 23:24Speaker 2: base of your skull?
- 23:25Speaker 3: I don't know is what I'm saying to you. I'm
- 23:28Speaker 3: simply saying. I can't even sunbathe in the backyard. He's outside.
- 23:33Speaker 3: He has the hose. If he tries to strangle me
- 23:36Speaker 3: or anything. So what I've tried to do, and I
- 23:38Speaker 3: told you.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Your attorney has in here that you looked in the
- 23:41Speaker 2: rearview mirror. You saw the little boy staring at you
- 23:43Speaker 2: from his car seat. His eyes were blood red.
- 23:46Speaker 3: Yes, sir. Yes, sir. I truly believe that. Yes, sir.
- 23:52Speaker 2: You do not want the boy around you when you're
- 23:54Speaker 2: sunbathing for fear that with a garden hose he could
- 23:58Speaker 2: asphyxiate you. And you've also said that because of his height,
- 24:02Speaker 2: he is just high enough to do serious injury to
- 24:07Speaker 2: your genitals. Is that correct?
- 24:09Speaker 3: Yes, sir, because that's the height he is. My attorney
- 24:13Speaker 3: said he's genital height.
- 24:17Speaker 2: What's he going to do?
- 24:18Speaker 3: Well, never mind. Let me tell you what. You read
- 24:23Speaker 3: the book Small Assassins by Ray Bradbury. It's about a
- 24:25Speaker 3: little tiny baby who killed both of his parents.
- 24:29Speaker 2: Well, Ray Bradbury was a fantasy writer. 1-800-449-8686. Cindy, go ahead.
- 24:34Speaker 10: Okay, I got a lot to say about this. First
- 24:36Speaker 10: of all, I thought this was a joke when I
- 24:38Speaker 10: started listening to this.
- 24:39Speaker 3: I mean, Mr.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Bozell, you have to understand that people are hearing you.
- 24:41Speaker 3: Well, I know, and I know that this is precedent-breaking,
- 24:44Speaker 3: and I know that it sounds strange to a lot
- 24:45Speaker 3: of people.
- 24:46Speaker 10: No, it ain't strange. It's absurd.
- 24:48Speaker 2: You know what?
- 24:49Speaker 10: I think this little boy hurt your pride. But you
- 24:52Speaker 10: know what? You killed his father. You sit there.
- 24:54Speaker 3: I killed way more.
- 24:55Speaker 9: No, no, no.
- 24:55Speaker 3: I didn't kill his father. You sit there. How do
- 24:57Speaker 3: you figure I killed his father?
- 24:59Speaker 10: Because you, okay, you say that you won't allow this
- 25:02Speaker 10: little boy to sit behind you, but yet you allowed
- 25:04Speaker 10: yourself to get behind a steering wheel drunk. That's how
- 25:07Speaker 10: you killed his father.
- 25:08Speaker 3: His father was drunk, too. You sit there.
- 25:10Speaker 10: So what? You were the one that got behind the wheel.
- 25:12Speaker 10: If he got behind the wheel and killed you, I'd
- 25:14Speaker 10: be saying the same thing to him.
- 25:15Speaker 3: What if he got behind the wheel and just drove
- 25:16Speaker 3: and nobody died?
- 25:18Speaker 10: You had the responsibility. You were behind the wheel. The
- 25:20Speaker 10: other thing is you sit there, you quote the Bible,
- 25:22Speaker 10: you say you're not a lawbreaker. Well, wasn't you a
- 25:24Speaker 10: lawbreaker when you got behind the wheel drunk? Yes, you were,
- 25:27Speaker 10: and you killed your best friend.
- 25:28Speaker 3: Well, I reject all that.
- 25:30Speaker 10: I think you were a loser then, and I think
- 25:32Speaker 10: you're a loser now to sue this little boy. You
- 25:34Speaker 10: are crazy.
- 25:35Speaker 3: So you're going to sit there and say, I should
- 25:38Speaker 3: just wait for the day that while I'm out sunbathing,
- 25:40Speaker 3: the kid just goes ahead and strangles me with a
- 25:41Speaker 3: garden hose. You know what? Move away. Move away.
- 25:46Speaker 4: You have a guilty conscience, don't you?
- 25:48Speaker 10: You're scared to death because you know you were wrong.
- 25:50Speaker 10: You know you were wrong.
- 25:51Speaker 3: I feel guilty, yeah. I feel guilty, but I know
- 25:53Speaker 3: what I did.
- 25:53Speaker 10: Okay, so this is the way you handle it?
- 25:55Speaker 3: Ma'am, I got charged with manslaughter. Ma'am, the court charged me,
- 25:59Speaker 3: the police charged me with manslaughter. Yeah, and you got off.
- 26:02Speaker 10: Shame on them.
- 26:03Speaker 3: I got off.
- 26:04Speaker 4: Shame on them.
- 26:04Speaker 3: I got probation.
- 26:05Speaker 10: Shame on the justice system for allowing you to do this.
- 26:07Speaker 3: Well, thank you, King Solomon. Thank you, King Solomon. You're wise.
- 26:11Speaker 3: You know all about it, huh?
- 26:12Speaker 10: A lot wiser than you.
- 26:14Speaker 3: Boy, I'll tell you right now, talking to you, I
- 26:15Speaker 3: know how.
- 26:15Speaker 10: You know what?
- 26:16Speaker 3: I'm not walking in your shoes.
- 26:16Speaker 10: Because I'm not that stupid to put, you know, this
- 26:18Speaker 10: kind of burden on myself by being so dumb to
- 26:20Speaker 10: get behind a steering wheel drunk.
- 26:22Speaker 3: You know what? I know how my nephew feels right now. Good.
- 26:25Speaker 3: I feel that way about you.
- 26:26Speaker 10: More power to him.
- 26:26Speaker 3: I feel that way about you.
- 26:28Speaker 10: More power to him. And they need to get that
- 26:30Speaker 10: kid away from you. Far away from you.
- 26:32Speaker 3: Get him away from me. I need to get away
- 26:34Speaker 3: from him.
- 26:34Speaker 10: He's five years old. He don't have a choice. They
- 26:37Speaker 10: need to get him away from you.
- 26:39Speaker 8: You're an adult.
- 26:40Speaker 3: That kid's in a car seat sitting behind me. What
- 26:42Speaker 3: defense do I have with him driving a pencil into
- 26:44Speaker 3: the base of my skull?
- 26:45Speaker 8: You know what?
- 26:46Speaker 10: What defense did his dad have when you got behind
- 26:48Speaker 10: the wheel drunk?
- 26:48Speaker 3: His father willingly got in that car, didn't he? Oh, gotcha.
- 26:52Speaker 5: Oh, gotcha.
- 26:52Speaker 3: Oh, gotcha. I got you. No, you didn't get me.
- 26:54Speaker 3: I got you.
- 26:54Speaker 10: You didn't get me.
- 26:55Speaker 3: Why should I live here? You were the one responsible.
- 26:58Speaker 10: You were the one responsible. If you had the keys,
- 27:00Speaker 10: you're the designated driver. You were the one responsible.
- 27:02Speaker 3: Can I ask you a question?
- 27:04Speaker 4: And you know what?
- 27:04Speaker 3: You're asking me to live in fear. The justice system failed.
- 27:06Speaker 10: This little boy. The justice system failed this little boy.
- 27:08Speaker 3: You're asking me to live in fear.
- 27:09Speaker 10: To allow you to go to court, they're going to.
- 27:11Speaker 9: Well, you know what?
- 27:12Speaker 3: You're asking me to live in fear.
- 27:13Speaker 10: He's going to live without his dad for the rest
- 27:14Speaker 10: of his life.
- 27:15Speaker 3: I can't take this boy to a duck pond for
- 27:17Speaker 3: fear this child in some way might push me in.
- 27:20Speaker 10: Why should you have anything to do with this kid,
- 27:22Speaker 10: or why should he want anything to do with you?
- 27:23Speaker 10: You killed his dad.
- 27:24Speaker 4: Why did you act like you're some surrogate father to me?
- 27:28Speaker 10: That makes me want to puke. Surrogate father, get out
- 27:31Speaker 10: of here.
- 27:31Speaker 3: That's right. I'm a better father to him than... Well,
- 27:33Speaker 3: you'd probably be a better father to him than me,
- 27:35Speaker 3: but other than that.
- 27:36Speaker 2: Well, what kind of a crack is that?
- 27:37Speaker 3: Well.
- 27:38Speaker 10: I'm a mother, you know, I wouldn't be another father,
- 27:40Speaker 10: but you know what? If I was the mother of
- 27:42Speaker 10: that child, he wouldn't have nothing to do with you.
- 27:44Speaker 3: Okay, Cindy, when I turn up with a pencil sticking
- 27:47Speaker 3: out of the back of my neck, leaned against the
- 27:49Speaker 3: steering wheel with the horn going off, you go right
- 27:50Speaker 3: ahead and laugh.
- 27:52Speaker 2: You really think they're going to find me?
- 27:53Speaker 3: They're going to find me leaning against the horn, the
- 27:55Speaker 3: kid in the car seat, pencil out of the neck,
- 27:58Speaker 3: classic textbook case.
- 28:01Speaker 10: You're weird, man.
- 28:02Speaker 3: Ma'am, it's easy for you to say.
- 28:04Speaker 2: All right, Cindy, thank you for your call.
- 28:05Speaker 10: This is an innocent little kid.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Thank you for your call, ma'am. The lady's points, I
- 28:09Speaker 2: have to say, are not without merit. Number one, the
- 28:12Speaker 2: child is very small.
- 28:13Speaker 3: I know all about the small child, Mr. Henry. What
- 28:15Speaker 3: I'm trying to do is protect myself for the future.
- 28:18Speaker 2: Do you think a kid is capable, a five-year-old boy
- 28:20Speaker 2: is capable?
- 28:21Speaker 3: If he's waist-high to your thing, okay, and he's got
- 28:27Speaker 3: those scissors that they give out all over the place now.
- 28:30Speaker 3: Kids have got scissors everywhere you go. A kid's got scissors. Why?
- 28:33Speaker 3: My question to my wife. My question to my daughter.
- 28:35Speaker 3: Why do kids have scissors? How come? Because... They're doing
- 28:39Speaker 3: their hobbies. They're doing their this and they're doing their that. Yeah, okay, fine, great.
- 28:44Speaker 3: The schools won't let them have scissors. You want to
- 28:46Speaker 3: know why? Because you just might find the principal or
- 28:50Speaker 3: the man who works in the cafeteria or the cafeteria
- 28:52Speaker 3: lady who's taking out those big pans full of lasagna
- 28:55Speaker 3: in the afternoon after the kids have had their lunch,
- 28:58Speaker 3: and she's face down out in the parking lot. She's
- 28:59Speaker 3: got scissors driven into the face of her.
- 29:01Speaker 2: Oh, come on!
- 29:02Speaker 8: 1-800-449-8686.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Dolores, go ahead.
- 29:08Speaker 3: Yes, sir.
- 29:10Speaker 9: I think that you're very paranoid, sir, and I think
- 29:14Speaker 9: that it's a lot of guilt because of... What happened
- 29:18Speaker 9: with his dad?
- 29:18Speaker 3: Why would I feel guilty? Why would I feel guilty?
- 29:20Speaker 9: Because, first of all, you should have waited without driving,
- 29:24Speaker 9: first of all, you know, and then you could have
- 29:27Speaker 9: saved you and that man's life. And another thing, you're paranoid.
- 29:32Speaker 9: You're blaming a little boy for something, and you're having
- 29:37Speaker 9: all of these thoughts in your mind, so you need help.
- 29:39Speaker 2: Transference, Mr. Bozell. That's what it's called.
- 29:41Speaker 3: What do you mean?
- 29:42Speaker 2: When we begin to transfer onto someone else feelings of
- 29:47Speaker 2: fear and aggression that we have ourselves... And you're putting
- 29:50Speaker 2: into this little boy.
- 29:51Speaker 3: Oh, no, no, no. Don't pull out that psychology stuff. No,
- 29:54Speaker 3: don't pull the psychology stuff.
- 29:56Speaker 9: Sir, I think you need help, sir.
- 29:58Speaker 3: What if he does something, ma'am? What if he does
- 30:00Speaker 3: something that isn't fatal? What if he just... This sounds stupid,
- 30:04Speaker 3: but this actually happened to a friend of mine. He
- 30:06Speaker 3: woke up one morning and somebody had taken super glue
- 30:08Speaker 3: and glued his butt cheeks together.
- 30:11Speaker 10: So you know what?
- 30:12Speaker 9: I really think you're playing around. And you know what?
- 30:15Speaker 9: God don't like ugly. You need to stop.
- 30:17Speaker 3: You need help, sir.
- 30:19Speaker 9: You need deliverance.
- 30:20Speaker 2: What are you afraid of?
- 30:21Speaker 3: I'm afraid the kid, what if he pulls a prank
- 30:23Speaker 3: like that?
- 30:23Speaker 2: Glues your butt cheeks together.
- 30:25Speaker 3: Okay. You want to laugh?
- 30:27Speaker 9: Have mercy. So the only thing I can say is
- 30:29Speaker 9: have mercy. I'm going to keep you in prayer.
- 30:32Speaker 3: Ma'am, this isn't a job for Jesus. This is a
- 30:35Speaker 3: job for an attorney.
- 30:36Speaker 10: No, you need help, sir.
- 30:38Speaker 9: First of all, you need to examine yourself and see
- 30:41Speaker 9: what you did first.
- 30:42Speaker 3: Look, I brought up the case of King Herod. He
- 30:45Speaker 3: tried to take care of business.
- 30:46Speaker 9: King Herod, sir, you know what?
- 30:48Speaker 10: Don't let the enemy destroy you.
- 30:51Speaker 9: You know your mind needs help. You need help.
- 30:53Speaker 3: You're paranoid, sir.
- 30:54Speaker 9: You need a psychologist.
- 30:55Speaker 3: Ma'am, are you giving me some Jesus stuff? Is that
- 30:57Speaker 3: what you're doing here? I think you are. I think
- 31:00Speaker 3: she is.
- 31:01Speaker 2: Well, so what if she is? That's her way of
- 31:02Speaker 2: approaching the question. She believes you need a psychologist. If
- 31:07Speaker 2: you want my honest opinion, I think you do too, sir.
- 31:09Speaker 2: I think you need a doctor. I think you need.
- 31:12Speaker 3: Well.
- 31:13Speaker 2: I think you need counseling of some kind. 1-800-TO-SAY-THAT-YOU'RE-AFRAID-TO-WAKE-UP-ONE-MORNING-THE-KID-HAS-SUPER-GLUED-YOUR-BUTT-CHEEKS-TOGETHER-RIGHT-THERE SAYS SOMETHING.
- 31:24Speaker 2: What are you laughing at?
- 31:25Speaker 3: It's a funny question.
- 31:29Speaker 8: 1-800-449-8686.
- 31:29Speaker 2: Phil Henry Show.
- 31:32Speaker 8: Phil Henry Show.
- 31:33Speaker 4: 1-800-449-8686.
- 31:33Speaker 8: If Dracula bit.
- 31:36Speaker 3: You and you were wearing a garlic necklace, would you
- 31:38Speaker 3: sue the garlic farmer? You savvy?
- 32:03Speaker 8: 1-800-449-8686. The Phil Hendry Show is back.
- 32:11Speaker 3: That's what I said.
- 32:13Speaker 2: Stephen Bozell from Corona, California. Has this lawsuit been filed, sir?
- 32:17Speaker 3: We're planning on moving tomorrow.
- 32:19Speaker 2: To sue your five-year-old nephew for humiliating you in front
- 32:23Speaker 2: of people by pointing at your crotch and saying shooting
- 32:25Speaker 2: blanks because he'd heard about the.
- 32:27Speaker 3: He had heard from his mother. And again, keep in mind,
- 32:30Speaker 3: I'm not looking for money. I'm not looking for anything.
- 32:31Speaker 3: I just want to enter in the court record. that
- 32:34Speaker 3: he and I, you know, it's on.
- 32:37Speaker 2: And you say it's on because you admit to having
- 32:40Speaker 2: some culpability in the death of his father, and you
- 32:42Speaker 2: figure as this boy gets older, he's going to become
- 32:45Speaker 2: more and more inclined to blame you, and eventually.
- 32:47Speaker 3: And eventually I think he's going to come at me,
- 32:49Speaker 3: so I want to make the first move here.
- 32:51Speaker 2: By suing him for saying you were shooting blanks at
- 32:54Speaker 2: the age of five.
- 32:55Speaker 3: Well, you can make fun if you want, and that's fine.
- 32:59Speaker 3: But I saw him, you know, I come into the
- 33:01Speaker 3: kitchen the other morning because Janice and the little boy
- 33:03Speaker 3: had spent the night, and Christian was in there. And
- 33:08Speaker 3: I poured myself a cup of coffee, and as I
- 33:10Speaker 3: walked into the kitchen, he was moving away from the
- 33:12Speaker 3: cup of coffee. And he was.
- 33:15Speaker 2: Well, what did you think?
- 33:16Speaker 3: He was moving away from it as if he'd just
- 33:18Speaker 3: done something. I poured it out. I didn't know what....
- 33:21Speaker 2: Well, what's he going to put in it, man? Anything.
- 33:24Speaker 3: Clorox bleach. You can find anything under the sink. Kids
- 33:26Speaker 3: are always getting it under there.
- 33:29Speaker 2: Let's go to Sam on the Phil Hendry Show. Sam,
- 33:31Speaker 2: you're on with Stephen Bozell.
- 33:32Speaker 4: Yeah, hi, Phil.
- 33:33Speaker 3: Yes, sir.
- 33:34Speaker 4: Stephen, I don't even know where to start with you.
- 33:36Speaker 4: I mean, this kid sounds like, what is he, the
- 33:38Speaker 4: son of.
- 33:39Speaker 3: Clark Kent or is he.
- 33:41Speaker 4: The son of James Bond?
- 33:43Speaker 3: Everybody's taking the kid's side. That's very predictable. I understand that.
- 33:46Speaker 4: And not to mention, what does your wife think of
- 33:48Speaker 4: all this? I mean, this whole thing started because you're
- 33:51Speaker 4: trying to conceive a child. What could she possibly think
- 33:53Speaker 4: of your manhood at this point?
- 33:55Speaker 3: What do you mean, my manhood? What's that got to
- 33:57Speaker 3: do with it? See, that's the only reason why I'm
- 34:00Speaker 3: suing him. Now you're starting to make jokes about it.
- 34:03Speaker 4: You know, there's nothing funny about this. It's really pitiful
- 34:06Speaker 4: and sad that a man... And then you say he's
- 34:07Speaker 4: going to what? He's going to jump you with a
- 34:09Speaker 4: garden hose? I've never seen a five-year-old kid be able
- 34:12Speaker 4: to take down a grown man with anything.
- 34:14Speaker 3: No, you're absolutely right.
- 34:15Speaker 5: But.
- 34:16Speaker 3: When has a kid ever tried it? If you think
- 34:19Speaker 3: about it, you're off your guard a lot around kids.
- 34:21Speaker 3: Off your guard a lot. All you have to do
- 34:24Speaker 3: is take a ballpoint pen and drive it into your eye.
- 34:26Speaker 4: I see. From the car seat from behind you, he's
- 34:29Speaker 4: contemplating it. He's plotted it. At five years old, what
- 34:33Speaker 4: spy school do you think he went to to learn
- 34:36Speaker 4: all this?
- 34:38Speaker 3: Have you ever had a child hit you, even unintentionally? Oh, yeah.
- 34:41Speaker 4: A five-year-old kid really took a swipe at me one
- 34:43Speaker 4: day and punched me in the ankle.
- 34:44Speaker 3: It really hurt me. It'll hurt. It'll hurt. It'll hurt.
- 34:47Speaker 3: A kid will hold it up.
- 34:50Speaker 4: You know what? You know what? The person that really
- 34:52Speaker 4: needs help here is, A, your wife for having to
- 34:54Speaker 4: put up with your crap, and you really need some
- 34:57Speaker 4: serious counseling.
- 34:57Speaker 3: You know, you people are all brainwashed because all you
- 34:59Speaker 3: do is take the kid's... I don't even understand.
- 35:02Speaker 4: I don't even know. And number three or four, whatever
- 35:05Speaker 4: the count is.
- 35:05Speaker 3: Do you have children?
- 35:06Speaker 4: What kind of an attorney do you really think you
- 35:09Speaker 4: have that you're going to have any sort of success
- 35:12Speaker 4: with this at all?
- 35:13Speaker 3: Do you have kids?
- 35:15Speaker 4: I don't have any children.
- 35:15Speaker 3: Well, and you're sure I'm talking to the wrong guy. Oh,
- 35:18Speaker 3: and that makes you an authority? Yeah, it does. And
- 35:21Speaker 3: by the way... You've never had a kid in a
- 35:22Speaker 3: car seat sitting behind you and looking in your rearview
- 35:24Speaker 3: mirror and seeing blood-red eyes.
- 35:25Speaker 4: How do they even let this child near you? Because
- 35:28Speaker 4: you are a menace.
- 35:29Speaker 3: What have I done to him?
- 35:31Speaker 4: You don't want to take responsibility for being drunk and driving.
- 35:34Speaker 3: And he could have gone either way.
- 35:34Speaker 4: You don't want to five-step that.
- 35:36Speaker 3: He could have gone either way.
- 35:37Speaker 4: Yeah, well, you know, but it went the way it went.
- 35:39Speaker 4: And you have to deal with the reality. That's the
- 35:42Speaker 4: way it went. You got behind the wheel.
- 35:44Speaker 3: You were drunk. What do I do? And you wrecked
- 35:46Speaker 3: the car. What do I do when I'm cooking on
- 35:48Speaker 3: my gas grill, but all of a sudden my eyebrows
- 35:50Speaker 3: are gone?
- 35:52Speaker 4: And now the kids at five years old, you haven't
- 35:54Speaker 4: even really thought, where did he get this information? He's
- 35:57Speaker 4: repeating what he heard another adult say.
- 35:59Speaker 2: Another adult say, yeah, exactly.
- 36:01Speaker 3: I know that, but he's saying it with the look
- 36:03Speaker 3: in his eye like, oh, I got you.
- 36:04Speaker 4: And the blood red look in his eye, that curdling
- 36:08Speaker 4: killer look that every five-year-old has.
- 36:12Speaker 10: You know what?
- 36:12Speaker 3: For a guy that doesn't have kids, you're all set
- 36:14Speaker 3: a big authority. What do you call it, Dr.
- 36:17Speaker 9: Hughes?
- 36:17Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, because you know why I'm an authority? I
- 36:20Speaker 4: just saw a gang of five-year-olds going down my street
- 36:24Speaker 4: of eyes blood red with a pencil in one hand
- 36:27Speaker 4: and a garden hose in the other just looking for
- 36:30Speaker 4: some trouble.
- 36:30Speaker 3: Both of you gentlemen can go straight down to the
- 36:32Speaker 3: fifth ring of hell.
- 36:33Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 36:34Speaker 3: Well, that's where you're already going.
- 36:35Speaker 2: He hung up on me.
- 36:36Speaker 4: Hey, Phil, thank you so much.
- 36:37Speaker 2: Thank you very much, sir. Fifth ring of hell. He
- 36:42Speaker 2: didn't say turn left, pit four.
- 36:43Speaker 9: 1-800-449-8686.
- 36:45Speaker 2: You're listening to the world-famous Phil Henry Show. I apologize
- 36:50Speaker 2: to you.
- 36:50Speaker 8: Mr.
- 36:50Speaker 2: Bozell is suing his... If you hang up on me, sir,
- 36:53Speaker 2: you can't call back.
- 36:54Speaker 3: I forgot to add, pit four. I just want to
- 36:56Speaker 3: make sure you go the right way. Yeah, okay.
