- 0:21relax. I'm here. Oh thank goodness. Oh that was the closest it's
- 0:29ever been with you. Yeah. Well, you know, it's a little
- 0:32cold. It's a little cold here. I have to I still have to
- 0:36adjust the environmental controls in the the planet. Yeah, yep, we're the
- 0:41environmental suit. Yeah, I'm re routing secondary REVERSI polarity. As did that.
- 0:48That's step one. That's always step one. Adjust the shield dutation and
- 0:52all that stuff. Yea, the harmonics, that's the harmonics. Apparently the
- 0:58universal translator is broken in our chat room, and Guten Morgan, it looks
- 1:11complete. There we go. There, you got your ipro on. That's
- 1:15it. That's it. What are you wearing? I know? So yeah,
- 1:23teach treated tap dance scotp outers right, exactly exactly. Although I'm not
- 1:27a doctor, I this is my this is my halloween costume from Halloween party
- 1:33last night. You know what you look like? What I'm gonna tell you.
- 1:36I'm gonna tell you what you look like right now? Okay, you
- 1:38you look like tapestry, but it was Riker. That's what you. Yeah,
- 1:48I like it. I'll take you. No. People kept asking me,
- 1:51what do you what are you dressing up for Halloween? What are you
- 1:52gonna be? You know, because we threw up Halloween party last night.
- 1:55I said, you got what are you supposed to be? I'm a nurse.
- 2:00I told people I was a nurse. Okay, and that's what I
- 2:02dressed up as. I dressed up as a nurse. Okay, I'm a
- 2:07Starfleet nurse. I got I have my I have my uh yeah, I'm
- 2:13I'm head nurse. Okay, I've got my medical trycorder with the little pop
- 2:19out you know. Yeah. So yeah, so how does that work?
- 2:23That brings up that brings up an interesting Okay, I I have Starfleet issue
- 2:32slacks. Okay, great, they have pockets? Do they have pockets?
- 2:37They have pockets? They absolutely do have pockets. Yeah. So if you're
- 2:40a nurse but you're a commander and you were stationed, yeah, you gotta
- 2:46do that again. That was like the writer over the whole desk. But
- 2:52if you're a nurse and you're a commander and you were stationed on Deep Space
- 2:55nine during the first season of d S nine, you would outrank you would
- 3:02outrank the chief medical officer who was a doctor. Well, okay, right,
- 3:08you would so edition out rank. I'm just saying, I'm just saying,
- 3:16I think you got a little pip happy last night when you well,
- 3:20I might have got a little pip happy. I didn't want to be presumptuous
- 3:23and call myself a doctor, you know. And I've got a lot of
- 3:27family members that serve as nurses, so I kind of want to pay homage
- 3:30to them. I'm just saying, you know, but lieutenants, I think
- 3:38that would have been I'm just saying, I think you went a little too
- 3:44far. The patholic behind him says that he's whatever rink you want. Thank
- 3:47you very much, Daniel. Listen, I got my own battlett don't be
- 3:53don't be dropping. Ok okay, because do I see a choreographed fight our
- 4:00future? Those are the day choreographed. Uh okay. I didn't know we
- 4:11we part Yeah, I didn't know we were wearing costumes today. I mean,
- 4:15I suppose a Halloween. Come on, I could turn this hat around.
- 4:19I could be Fred Durst for an hour, but uh no, I
- 4:24went to two. I went yesterday morning. Uh the karate school had a
- 4:29had a Halloween party for the kids. Okay, so I you know,
- 4:35I went. The whole family went. We all dressed up. Uh.
- 4:39My wife wore her h J J J J Abrams era, uh Starfleet red
- 4:46skirt, which I just like seeing it. Honor. My son was a
- 4:53banana from Fortnite. Okay, Peely, I think it's the character's name.
- 4:59Yeah. My daughter was was Pepa Pig and uh cute I had. I
- 5:03had the proton pack out for the first time. Oh nice, that was
- 5:10nice. I walked in the I walked in the door and uh one of
- 5:17the instructors looked at me and he says, Okay, you won. That's
- 5:24great. We just watched Ghostbusters Afterlife. This we can do, said the
- 5:30first time you saw it, or you watched it again, third time we've
- 5:32seen it. We saw in the theater, then we saw it again last
- 5:34year and then yeah, and that that scene at the end gets me every
- 5:42It will never not get me. Yeah, it was about you. The
- 5:46other day, Dan or yesterday there was a group of guys bar hopping,
- 5:50four of them all dressed like like Ghostbusters, and then there was a fifth
- 5:54guy who was in the giant inflatable huit. Well, so I have the
- 6:00blow ups in the front yard. They're not inflated right now because it's because
- 6:04it's because it's raining. But one of them, one of them is a
- 6:08thirteen foot marshmallow man that stands in my front yard every years. I'll put
- 6:14a picture up. Yeah, for sure, in the group. But we
- 6:16also went to you know, the town had a had a trunk or treat
- 6:20in the last night we went to that, and I I had to pose
- 6:27for multiple pictures with people I didn't know. So okay, okay, I
- 6:30can imagine that's that's part of the fun. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 6:34you know, you've got a good cast. He was the hot girl at
- 6:39the con. How does it feel to be the pretty girl? It's right,
- 6:46It's nice to be uh, it's nice to be wanted. Yeah,
- 6:50I'm a man. I'm a man. I need to be wanted. Desired.
- 6:58That's from one of the movies. Yeah, I got it, bankman.
- 7:05Yeah. Yeah, what about you? What about you? Daniel?
- 7:09Any any Halloween? Well, we had a little birthday party for me last
- 7:15night with oh happy birthday, Happy, happy birthday. Yeah. Thanks,
- 7:18so I brought It wasn't really a Halloween party, but we just came out
- 7:24and then I brought over my switch and we played games with my nephews and
- 7:28niece and yeah, they really loved Super Smash Bros. So okay. On
- 7:36each other Friday night, I went to see Five Nights of Freddy's Oh yeah,
- 7:43I saw that too in the theater with six eleven year old boys for
- 7:49my son's birthday. Oh wow. Yeah, and yeah, oh my god.
- 7:55Yeah they had a lot of fun, let's put it that way.
- 8:00Yeah. Yeah, not a movie I'm really interested in ever seeing again.
- 8:03Yeah. Yeah, it didn't really seem like my my cup of tea.
- 8:07But I you know, I don't know any I don't know the games,
- 8:13I don't know the the I don't know the story. But apparently there are
- 8:20some big fans of that. Yeah, because the the one we I tried
- 8:24to buy tickets for, you know, I had to get seven seats altogether,
- 8:28you know, six, and then me behind them so I could kick
- 8:33their seats when they were shut up. But uh, you know, we
- 8:39had to move to a later show. I couldn't find you know, I
- 8:41couldn't find seating. And in the beginning, I was I was trying to
- 8:46shut them up because they were talking through the whole movie, and eventually I
- 8:48realized everybody in this theater is just talking through this whole movie because there's you
- 8:52know, Easter eggs, and oh, this is this and that and this
- 8:56is connected to this. I just I gave up. I gave up.
- 9:00Uh, if they get too loud, somebody else is gonna yell at themselves,
- 9:05right right. Yeah, my buddy saw it because we're like, I
- 9:09think we're supposed to want to see this. So we went and we took
- 9:13his son, who's like ten, and man, that kid was all into
- 9:16it. Yeah. Coming out of the theater, he was like and then
- 9:18this means that that moment, we're like whatever, yeah, whatever, Yeah,
- 9:24So what a nerd? It's gonna tie into the to the finances?
- 9:28A ten year old? What a nerd? Yeah? Morning warning, nerd
- 9:35alert, nerd alert. That sounds exactly like us when we walk out of
- 9:41a Star Trek movie, exactly exactly, So we would probably be way worse.
- 9:46Did we just nerd alert a ten year old kid? Yeah? Wow?
- 9:52What? What kind of assholes? Because well, I don't know,
- 9:54I'm talking to my older age now, that's right, Get off my yeah,
- 10:05you're squitching, my capit hill, my grant time will never grow this
- 10:13way. You know what, I have a great idea. I have a
- 10:16great idea. You're ready for this, boy astely, Hello and welcome to
- 10:20Trek Cast, the galaxies most one star trek podcast. I'm one of your
- 10:24hosts, The Lombardo with me Daniel Reyes Scott Bounders. Thanks for stopping in.
- 10:30We're eleven minutes in. I figured we should. Yeah, yeah,
- 10:35see, I never want to be presumptuous to to do the intro. So
- 10:37it's fine, Yeah, it's it's fine. Then let's Startrek News, all
- 10:50right, so you can definitely tell that the strikes are taking effect because the
- 10:54news is getting harder and harder to find. Yeah, so yeah, these
- 10:58are the meager droppings that I have. Our first news story comes to us
- 11:01from trekmovie dot Com and Lower showrunner Mike Mahon gave an interview to them and
- 11:09talked a little bit more about Lower Decks. He did kind of give something
- 11:15away, so this is a potential spoiler for the finale. He didn't say
- 11:20that it was a spoiler, but maybe so if you don't want to hear
- 11:24it, you know, give it about thirty thirty seconds go on. So
- 11:30basically, in the previous episode Caves, when the Ventorians show up and they've
- 11:37got the crew trapped and they're saying, oh, they're they're enjoying their time.
- 11:41Leave them there. Apparently there was a line that was cut out where
- 11:45they said it's about to get much harder for them, alluding to that maybe
- 11:50the Vendorians are behind that ship catching everybody. Yeah, something fell behind me,
- 12:01all right, it's yeah, getting attacked. Gied me to suit up
- 12:09there three days exactly. Yeah, So we'll see if that's the case.
- 12:16But also in the interview, Mike behind did say, should Lower Decks gets
- 12:22canceled, he would love to transition into doing comic books and books and video
- 12:30games for lower decks. So okay, okay, Then our next new story
- 12:39comes to us from screen Rant, and we're learning a little bit about Whoopi
- 12:41Goldberg and what she originally wanted to do on TNNG. She also had an
- 12:48interview where she talked about this, and apparently her pitch was she wanted to
- 12:52be the new security officer because at that point in the series, Tasha Yarr
- 12:58had just been killed off, and she thought, Okay, there's a hole
- 13:01to fill and I'll be the new security chief, and the producers were like,
- 13:05whoopee, we love you, but we don't see you as a security
- 13:09chief. We feel the same way. Yeah, so you're gonna be a
- 13:15bartender. You're gonna be a space bartender. And so that's what happened there,
- 13:20all right. And then our last I think they made the right decision.
- 13:24I think they did. Do I think so do yes. And then
- 13:26our last news story comes to us from Variety again the you know, had
- 13:31to get what I could find, and the headline is Paddington and Perus sets
- 13:35twenty twenty five release date. So yeah, that's the big news story because
- 13:43I don't I don't even I don't even remember like how it got started.
- 13:50Yeah, like, act, do you actually like these movies? Or I
- 13:54watched the first one because you guys were talking on the show a couple of
- 13:58years ago. Yeah, and so we watched did a couple of years ago.
- 14:00And I still haven't seen Paddington too, which I'll do that, okay.
- 14:05Yeah, I think it was suggested that that that a pack let review
- 14:09should result. Oh for sure. It started during COVID when we were like,
- 14:16oh, what are we going to watch because there's nothing going on and
- 14:18then we we had said, well, Paddington Too had a hundred percent on
- 14:24Rotten Tomatoes, and it's considered a perfect film, which it is. Yeah,
- 14:30and it's just never been let go since. All right, it's a
- 14:33perfect film in that it didn't make any mistakes. You know, there's a
- 14:39few perfect films like that where like they they perfectly fit the structure of what
- 14:45a screenplay is supposed to be. At this point, this is what happens.
- 14:48Like one of the perfect films that's actually taught in film schools is a
- 14:50Galaxy quest. Yes, yeah, oh it's you know, it's funny what
- 14:54you're describing. What's that is the Kobayashi my room. That's right where you
- 15:01can make no mistakes. And still so you're saying that Paddington, yes,
- 15:09made no mistakes, it's still lost. I got done with watching Paddington and
- 15:16I'm like, you know, my wife and I looked at each other and
- 15:18it's like, yeah, that was that was good. I can't find anything
- 15:22wrong with it. I'm not super excited, but I can't find anything wrong
- 15:26with it. So that's that's my that's my look at this is to try
- 15:31and connect anything. Okay, So yeah, frost back. Clumberjack says Paddington
- 15:39would make a good bear. Rug. Wow, I mean he's not wrong,
- 15:46what Dan Lombardo, I mean, yeah, I guess. I guess
- 15:52you're right. So that's my goal is to take the things, take things
- 15:58and connect them to track in any way that I can. So as you
- 16:02talk about non trek things, still don't ever be surprised helpless, just like
- 16:06the Federation is supposed to be. I mean just saying no, I was
- 16:12calling back to the Kobe Aashi Maru that you know, whatever we talk about
- 16:17it, if it's not trek related, if I could go find if I
- 16:19could find a way to tie it back, that's sure. Every time.
- 16:22Sure, I'm gonna. I'm gonna let's give you some pop quizzes on this.
- 16:27Uh, Kevin Bacon, how can you connect pick Kevin Bacon back to
- 16:30the start Trek? How can I connect Kevin Bacon two? Starving Bacon was
- 16:38an X Men. X Men is a comic book. Patrick Stewart. Patrick
- 16:44Stewart was in the there you go, There you go? Done deal?
- 16:49All right, come on, I'm impressed. It's like, come at me.
- 16:56I connect anything to start Trek, That's right, Yes, tenders back
- 17:02to the Federation. All right, Well let's get to our main topic.
- 17:11Fun will now come out. All right, So we just finished watching season
- 17:22four, episode nine, the Inner Fight, the inter Fight YEP of Lower
- 17:26Decks, and the official log line is Captain Freeman assigns the lower Deckers an
- 17:33openly safe mission to try to keep a self self destructive mariner out of danger.
- 17:41So that is the official log line. It's not wrong. So the
- 17:47last few episodes, I recall people pointing out, like, hey, this
- 17:55this one off character. I think it's I think it's the same voices as
- 17:59so and so, and I think the scientists at the beginning, the guy
- 18:03who gets his eyes popped out. Yeah, I'm pretty sure. Yeah,
- 18:07I'm pretty sure that's Meglei MoU. I'm pretty sure that's the same third guy.
- 18:11Yeah, yeah, yeah it is. I think it is. Okay,
- 18:15yeah, yeah, So what they they go to the to the scientists,
- 18:26right, and what is I can't remember the episode. I've had so
- 18:30much going on. So he's studying some uh, some some weird creatures that
- 18:37they bleed acid and the only thing uh keeping them safe is uh, it's
- 18:45like some electro fence. It's a Jurassic Park situation. That's right. These
- 18:49little guys there, yeah, yeah, yeah, they're like xenomorphs kind of
- 18:52they look like the munchers from uh teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. But yeah,
- 18:56they do the thank you, thank you. Yeah. But yeah, Mariner's
- 19:06taking weird risks. She's putting herself in harm's way. We don't really know
- 19:10why at this At this point, it reminded me of that Voyager episode where
- 19:15Balana was doing the same thing when she found out that all of her all
- 19:18of her friends from the from the the well Makis thank you uh were killed
- 19:26during the Dominion War. Yeah. Yeah, like like Mariner could have wore
- 19:32a special suit and been okay, but she didn't, and so that's why.
- 19:37Yeah, that's right. And then so then Captain Freeman was like,
- 19:41Hey, we gotta go over here to take care of these people, but
- 19:45I'm gonna send you guys on an overly safe mission because there's no way I
- 19:52can have Mariner running loose while we're trying to protect these other people. So
- 19:56did we know that, and you know, you could refresh my memory,
- 20:03did we know that seven of nine was a member of Starfleet before we saw
- 20:07her wearing a Starfleet uniform on Picard? Was she in Starfleet and then she
- 20:11wasn't and then she was back in again. I feel like they mentioned that
- 20:17in Picard. Okay, because when she gave the list, when Freeman gave
- 20:22the list of people they have to protect or they have to find and protect,
- 20:26she referred to them all as ex Starfleet officers. Right, it was
- 20:29seven, seven of nine, Tom Riker, Beverly Crusher, and Nick Locarno,
- 20:33and all of those makes sense except for seven unless she Yeah, because
- 20:40Starfleet at some point in the Pocard show seven to nine says something along the
- 20:45lines of, like, boy, Jane Way tried to get me into Starfleet,
- 20:49it didn't last, and so I went to the clus rangers. Did
- 20:52she say it didn't last or it didn't it didn't work out or didn't work
- 20:56out? Yeah, something along those lines. Even if she had never been
- 21:00in Starfleet before Picard, like she she might be lumped into that category because
- 21:06she was part of Voyage's crew. Probably, but it's it's probably. It's
- 21:10so ambiguous enough that it fits whatever you want it to be. Yeah.
- 21:15Ok. So they take Mariner to go fix some like outpost relay or whatever.
- 21:21It is. It's supposed to be like the ultimately safe mission. But
- 21:25you know, of course, the lower deckers are telling her, hey,
- 21:26it's super dangerous. What's going on? Yeah, they're trying to trick her,
- 21:30and yeah, and guess what it is? Absolutely len ship shows up
- 21:37and danger ensues. They get trapped on a planet. Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 21:45So then uh, Freeman Shacks, the Freeman Shacks, and Ruthiford they
- 21:49go to tattooed, right, they go to the most sizely canteena but they're
- 21:55not on the list, so they have to they have to get on the
- 21:57waiting Oh wait, no, I'm sorry, Yeah no, it was Axton.
- 22:02Sorry, I mixed my planets up. That's right, that's right.
- 22:06Well that's not the only planet from Star Wars that was featured in this episode,
- 22:10because apparently one of the moons of Endoor was featured because the the building
- 22:15with the giant satellite dish on top was that not I didn't look at the
- 22:21two pictures side by side, but to me it looked like the shield generator
- 22:25from Return of the Jedi. I thought that too. Okay, I missed
- 22:29that, Yeah, I missed that one, which was that warning warning nerd
- 22:34alert, NERD alert, Daniel, we got to come up with a signal.
- 22:38You're welcome up with a signal, so like you know, Also,
- 22:44I wasn't talking when you initiated that NERD alert. Yeah, you gotta do
- 22:47it right when I'm in the middle of a sentence. I tried right right.
- 22:52Yeah. So the bar was called MUDs, which is a callback to
- 22:57Harry Mud. So I didn't I didn't catch that. Yeah, the bar
- 23:02was called MUDs. Starflee uniforms have pockets. Yeah, yes they do,
- 23:10Yes they do, but they have deep pockets or at least no, they
- 23:14don't have money. They don't have deep pocket pockets, or at least in
- 23:17this era, they have pockets. You know, we know an enterprise they
- 23:22have pockets. It had nothing but pockets. It pockets for days. But
- 23:26well they had to prepare for their long road. Yeah, it's been a
- 23:30long road. Yes, all right. So if you have treck cast bingo
- 23:36and you had dancing, there you go. So I love how Freeman says
- 23:48that she aced her hoodlums and racketeers seminar at the Academy, which I think
- 23:55is I think is a joke about the writing of h Berman era Star trek
- 24:02because it seems like it seems like whenever something's going on, somebody is Like
- 24:07I took a class at the Academy. We discussed this exact topic. I
- 24:11only got to beat plus, but maybe we could make it work. I
- 24:15remember when war said, I am a graduate of Starfleet Academy. I know
- 24:18many things. Yeah. Yeah, I didn't think there was a Hoodlums and
- 24:22Racketeers seminar, but oh yeah there's. Apparently apparently there is. And apparently
- 24:30jippers are half priced for tripads today. So if you got three legs,
- 24:36great. I don't know what the hell of jipper is, but whatever,
- 24:41you're gonna save on him. Apparently. Yeah. So apparently it is common
- 24:48knowledge that Beverly Crusher is an accomplished tap dancer. That's right. I didn't
- 24:56I didn't think that was known that the it's a doctor. She must have
- 25:03quite the reputation back at Starfleet. Yeah. Yeah, was that one season
- 25:07that she was back at Surfleet season two? Yeah, that's how it got
- 25:14out. Yeah. So this this klingon had uh had pink blood, which
- 25:22is something that Undiscovered Country blood. Yeah, it only happened in Undiscovered Country.
- 25:29Every other time we saw a Klingon bleed. It was regular, regular
- 25:33red blood. So I thought it was odd that they chose to to bring
- 25:37that back. I mean they I guess I know why they did it because
- 25:41the first time we saw him bleed, he was still in disguise. He
- 25:45hadn't been revealed as a Klingon yet, so that was kind of a foreshadowing.
- 25:51But you know, that was one of those plot holes that they kind
- 25:53of just glossed over and never revisited again. So to then just bring it
- 26:00up again, well, he go back when we didn't know who was a
- 26:04Klingon, the the Klingon that she's fighting, that Marinon was fighting on the
- 26:11planet. When we initially see him, he's wearing some sort of clothing so
- 26:15that you don't know what he is. Oh, you can't tell. I
- 26:18got Yeah, he had a head he had a headdress or something. In
- 26:21the first time. The first time he gets cut, he bleeds pink,
- 26:26which is a clue that he's a Klingon. Yeah, except, yeah,
- 26:33yeah, exactly exactly. So it was interesting. Mm hmm. So the
- 26:41information I wrote down some some Easter eggs and thoughts the information broker, Uh
- 26:47in the bar, did you catch the reference with him. Yeah, I
- 26:52just got to watching that episode of the so he looks like Baylox. Baylox
- 26:56puppet from the Corba might uh maneuver. Yep, the puppet is. You
- 27:02know, even if you don't know that episode, if you've ever seen any
- 27:07episode of TOS so watch the credits. He's right there in the credits.
- 27:11His his face. In fact, when we were when we were in Chicago,
- 27:15there was someone who looked like him and he had the plexiglass with the
- 27:19credits. Yeah, that's right, that's right. Yeah, that was great.
- 27:26So bay Lock, the character Baylock was a seven year old Clint Howard,
- 27:32Ron Howard's father and the voice of that puppet. It was Ted Cassidy
- 27:38who played uh. He played He played Rock in the original series episode What
- 27:45Are Little Girls Made Of? But he also played Lurch on The Adams Family.
- 27:48It's that big talk guy star Trek. He had the really broad shoulders,
- 27:53yeah, in that costume. So he had lots of callbacks excess episode
- 28:00mm hmm. And then we we find out from that fight, we find
- 28:06out a little bit about what's going on with Mariner, which was huge.
- 28:11Yeah, what do you guys think of that? So Basically she admits that
- 28:17her friend had gone to the Enterprise. They Ado also were like best friends
- 28:22in the academy and uh Cito was much better than Mariner and Soedo basically took
- 28:32a dangerous mission and was killed. And basically now Mariners like, she doesn't
- 28:38want that for anyone else, for herself, and that's yeah, and lower
- 28:47decks. Yeah, anybody who didn't who doesn't know the history there she was.
- 28:51She was with Wesley Crusher and Nick Lacarno. She was involved in that
- 28:55accident. She's also the seventh season episode of TNG, she was the one
- 29:03who was uh supposed to pose as a but Jordan prisoner and help a Cardassian
- 29:08double agent get back into Cardassian space. And she died. She died for
- 29:15a country, and that's got Mariner torn up a little bit. I recently
- 29:21watched rewatched that episode. That's an episode that gets me every time too.
- 29:29When when Hard makes the announcement at the end with the music and and just
- 29:33the look on his face, I'm like, yeah that yep, Yeah,
- 29:37So you know, I love Easter eggs, I love callbacks, I said
- 29:45to the butt coming. Well, well, Mariner's issues seem kind of out
- 29:52of character. We saw some character growth for her, and then she regressed
- 29:59and and I feel like this is something that they came up with nine months
- 30:03ago. You know, this wasn't something in the plans, and it seems
- 30:11a little bit convenient. It seems a little bit late, and it comes
- 30:17off as a little bit forced. I think if you were going to do
- 30:23this, it would have been better in season one, as we're learning about
- 30:26Mariner, and then you go from there. I get why they did it
- 30:33now though, because you're using it as an excuse as to why she doesn't
- 30:37want to get higher in rank, because she doesn't want to be responsible for
- 30:41sending people out to do that, which we've seen that thematically. I mean,
- 30:45there was Jordy with that moral morality test, but Aenna, you know,
- 30:51to send your way. At the same time, in the very first
- 30:53segment of this same episode, she tells the civilian scientist, you know,
- 31:00if you want to study a million different animals, you could just join Starfleet,
- 31:06which is the opposite of what she should do. She doesn't want to
- 31:08be in command, and she doesn't want to send people into harm's way.
- 31:11She just wants to study things and solve puzzles. Shouldn't will be a civilian
- 31:17scientist tomorrow. She doesn't need to be in Starfleet to do any of that,
- 31:19right, So right, And if you really want to pick it apart,
- 31:22though, then you can argue, like, well, her mom literally
- 31:26is the highest in command on that ship and literally pick the safest assignment to
- 31:30protect her. Mm hm. You know, so you're kind of showing that
- 31:34Mariner's logic is kind of flawed. But but I think for what you're trying
- 31:41to get to as far as the character, I think it's okay. And
- 31:45I think this show has has earned enough goodwill that Yeah, maybe it's a
- 31:48little bit nitpicky. Maybe maybe it's not the best execution of this, but
- 31:52whether they're ultimately going to go, I trust them and we'll see, we'll
- 31:56see where it ends up, right, No, Yeah, I agree,
- 32:00And I think there's gonna be you know, with with Nick Lacaro coming in,
- 32:05I I'm wondering if they're gonna have a like, like I'm going to
- 32:10predict that maybe Wesley Crusher is going to show up in the next episode.
- 32:15They've got They've got Nick Lcarno, you know, They've they've got I think,
- 32:20and he's collecting obviously he's collecting people and he just collected mirror what somebody
- 32:28just said, I just heard an epiphany. Frost, Uh Frost, giant
- 32:32lumber kiddie, what's his name? Jump the Shark. Yes, I'm not
- 32:42sure if it's that it remains it remains to be seen indeed indeed or what
- 32:47Like I'm predicting we're either going to have Wesley Crusher in the next episode or
- 32:52maybe the other Oh nurse Ogawa yeah, or or that Laval yeah, Vevell
- 33:00Lavell. So what they really need to do, they really need to steer
- 33:06right into this. They need to have Tom Parris. They need a scene
- 33:13with Tom Parris and Nick Lecarno where he's voice he's voicing both characters. Yeah,
- 33:20and like and you know, like Tom Parris is pissed that he you
- 33:23know, I keep getting confused for you, you're giving me a bad name.
- 33:29And then also have because uh Torik was in Lower Decks. Oh yeah,
- 33:36and it's the same actor who plays vork Yea from Voyager. Oh yeah,
- 33:42both both of them there and or Vorick and Torque like, oh,
- 33:46yes, we know exactly what you mean. I'm now where and played by
- 33:50the same actor. They were they were okay, but different characters. Yes,
- 33:54yeah, why would And I get why they would do that because they
- 33:58if they make them the same character out of on a series, then they
- 34:00have to pay the writers for this. Yes, yes, it's the same
- 34:06situation. I don't care what they say about Paris Locarno. It was all
- 34:10about money that the decision was all about money. Yeah, yeah, okay,
- 34:16okay. What do we think Nick is going to be doing in the
- 34:20final episode? I don't know. That's that's that's in my my notes literally
- 34:23say, uh, Nicolcaro had been abducting Captain's slash ships w t F.
- 34:30That's what my notes say, right right, right, So I don't know.
- 34:34So is he a good guy or a bad guy? Is he doing
- 34:37something nefarious or is he doing something that he thinks is for the greater good.
- 34:43The last thing he did was to sacrifice his career for the other cadets.
- 34:46That's the last thing he did that we saw him in. So does
- 34:51that guy become an evil guy? I don't think they're going to make I
- 34:54don't think they're going to make him a Mustatiline Villion, right, I don't
- 34:59think he I don't think he sacrificed his career for the others. His career
- 35:05was over, he bears, asking the real questions. Does the writer finally
- 35:07get paid? I pull it, right, I would think, so right,
- 35:15he gets it. He gets a check for like seven dollars and he's
- 35:16like, yeah, guys, I'm not even stream. Yeah. Well,
- 35:20if I'm right, and they're going to bring back all these characters from the
- 35:22The Next Gen episode lower decks, then yeah, I bet he's just like,
- 35:28yeah, exactly fourteen dollars. So Locarno didn't sacrifice himself for the others.
- 35:38I think he knew it was over and chose to go out in a
- 35:45blaze of glory. He always wanted to go out in a blaze of glory.
- 35:46He wanted to end his academy career in a blaze of glory. And
- 35:50yeah, he wanted to Yeah, and the next best thing is, you
- 35:54know, I'll end my end my career in a blaze. I went down
- 35:59with the ship. I took the hit from my form, my crew.
- 36:04So I don't think he's yeah, I don't know. I don't think he's
- 36:08a good guy. I don't think they're going to redeem him, so to
- 36:14speak. On this show. Hmm interesting. Okay, they've quote, they've
- 36:19been quoted in the past saying that their excuse for not using him on Voyager
- 36:23is that the character was irredeemable, right, so to now redeem him.
- 36:30I don't think. I don't think that's what they're doing. Okay, you
- 36:37have an ability to look deeper into things than I do. You mean you
- 36:42don't You don't take cartoons seriously. I take cartoons seriously just as if not
- 36:47more so seriously than you do. But yeah, well, you know,
- 36:53you gotta, you gotta, you gotta check the scoreboard. I go in
- 36:57deep on these things. And then if you watch that, if you watch
- 37:00these episodes again in six months, I'm usually one thousand percent wrong, But
- 37:04you know this is true. And and who was the first first of the
- 37:07three of us to you know, predict that this was the ship was going
- 37:13to be this mystery ship was collecting things, not destroying things. What's that?
- 37:16Now? What can you hear me? Now? Uh? Yeah,
- 37:27let's uh, we'll set up a scoreboard, so we'll happened at the end
- 37:30of the year or next week. I have got the predictions, so I've
- 37:35got I've got a question before you get into predictions. Maybe you can,
- 37:38you can make some predictions on this. So okay, So they got intel
- 37:44that whoever this mystery person group was that was abducting these people, they have
- 37:52an interest in seven of nine, Tom Parris, Beverly Crusher, and Nick
- 37:54Locarno, right, and then we come to find out that Nick lacarn actually
- 38:00is the the the person that's doing the the abducting. So my question is,
- 38:09does Locarno have some sort of interest in seven of nine, Tom Riker
- 38:15and Beverly Crusher or was the intel just bad? Are we going to see
- 38:19these these other characters mentioned next next week or or see any of them appear?
- 38:28I mean, we know that we know that Jonathan Freaks uh is very
- 38:31active in all aspects of Star Trek right now. So to to have Ryan
- 38:37yeah, so to have him voice uh, you know, Thomas Reiker,
- 38:43yeah, would be rather rather easy. If I've got to pick whether or
- 38:50not they're going to show up and actual lines from their characters, my gut
- 38:53is no, but I would not be surprised if they do. But I
- 39:00think you got a twenty two minute show. You've just revealed, Nick Placarno,
- 39:05You clearly are going to do something with that. I don't think you
- 39:08have time in that to also be like, and here's seven to nine and
- 39:12here's Thomas Riker. You know, so I think it's going to be more
- 39:15focused on Nick and what's going on with him. And they may mentioned those
- 39:22other characters, but I don't think we will actually see or hear them.
- 39:27Well, I don't want to gloss over that one of these name drops is
- 39:29kind of a big deal. I mean, we know what seven of nine
- 39:30is doing kind of in this timeframe. We know what Beverly Crusher is doing
- 39:35kind of in this timeframe. Right, Tom Riker, the last time we
- 39:39heard of him in Cannon, he was in a cardassium prison camp. So
- 39:45this this kind of confirms that, hey, he's still alive and floating around
- 39:51out there somewhere. Oh so look at this theory from Kevin. He thinks,
- 39:55Soito's alive and Nick wants to expose all the lies. All the names
- 40:00on lists were scorn by Starfleet, Tom Riker, Beverly and seven. I
- 40:06like it that. Yeah, it's not a bad theory there. There was
- 40:10talk years ago of revisiting that character on Deep Space nine that she wouldn't that
- 40:20would be cool, yeah, because I mean all they had to go on
- 40:24was the destroyed escape pod, right, you know, she could have been
- 40:30captured and to make Starfleet not pursue it, destroy the escape pod. You
- 40:37know, that'd be interesting. It wouldn't cheapen what happened to that character,
- 40:42I think because that was a that was a big sack that it depends.
- 40:49I mean, if she uh has spent the last twenty years in a Cardassian
- 40:55prison camp, in a living hell, I mean that doesn't chieve that that's
- 41:00still a sacrifice or she hold on? I hear another another epiphany, where
- 41:10is the last time? What? What is the last place we do?
- 41:15Thomas Riker to be Cardassian prison prison? So maybe the two of them they're
- 41:27bunkies. Mm hm hm hm hmmm. Do you think that I don't know.
- 41:35Would that be a little too intense or deep for lower decks. I
- 41:44don't think it'd be too deep because they they dropped some really deep cut easter
- 41:47eggs. I don't think it's too deep as far as too emotional or too
- 41:52dark or something like that. That's a huge thing because you know, we're
- 41:59talking about prisons. We're not just talking about any prison camp. We're talking
- 42:01about a Cardassian prison camp for a Bajora. Yeah, I want to see
- 42:07I want to see Lavell. I want to see Lavell show up, and
- 42:13I want him to interact with Tom Riker, and I want Tom Riker to
- 42:16be like I don't know it is about that guy, but I don't like
- 42:19him. Mm hmm. I don't know if you remember, but there was
- 42:24uh, you know, will Will Riker who didn't like him. Yeah,
- 42:28I didn't like him because he reminded him of his younger self, right,
- 42:35I said, I'm trying to remember. I remember that there's Thomas Riker has
- 42:38been in some of the novels, but I don't. I don't remember any
- 42:42circumstances. Oh, Lavell shows up and he's part of section thirty one.
- 42:47Oh, I get section thirty one in there, and so is Nurse Ogawa.
- 42:52Check and Jerdy one recruited him once he became lieutenant. They knew he
- 42:58was qualified to sure of in their mix bartender, and so he was always
- 43:04getting information, perfect perception they could get, they could get the bartender.
- 43:09Dude, I don't I don't remember his name Canadian, that's right. Oh,
- 43:16look at this Kevin. If you rewatch the scene from Marriner gets beamed
- 43:21out. You'll notice it's a Romulan beam out noise, not Federation. Oh
- 43:25nice cat. Okay, yeah, interesting inter Yeah, warning, warning,
- 43:39dropping NERD alerts today, that's right. Ye, Kevin's very own nerd alert.
- 43:45I didn't a monkey. Yeah, huh. What do we think is
- 43:52happening? We we think that that it's gonna be Thomas Riker and Soito and
- 43:59Nick all the Evil Avengers, the Evil Avengers. It's the Thunderbolts. They're
- 44:07the Revengers. Revengers. Yeah, I don't know what I mean. Okay,
- 44:14so what do we know? It's it's nick Lecarno. He's collecting different
- 44:21species. Also the way he's been collecting them. Did you notice that the
- 44:28the Klingons of the Romin was the Cardassians said they they they fed lies to
- 44:32our our our lower listed and as a result we got captured or whatever it
- 44:37seems like. Right, So I don't know, I can't I can't connect
- 44:45the dots on that one. But yeah, m clone of Boimler is in
- 44:51section thirty one that the clone died because an earlier this season, Boiler was
- 44:57like, if he died, then I can die right, Yeah, that's
- 45:00right. Or did he that's right? Maybe he's in a Cardassian prison prison.
- 45:09Everybody's Indian prison. Everyone everyone that dies and they've got room to run.
- 45:17And Tashi Yard didn't like die while trying to escape Romulus. She's in
- 45:23a prison. She's an old lady. Yeah, right, is that what
- 45:30you were going for? Surety prison camp? Cass is in a Cardassian prison
- 45:40camp. That's right, that's right man, Okay, anything else we want
- 45:49to bring up with this? No, we've done enough damage. I think
- 45:52we've done enough damage for one day. Yeah. Oh, can I announce
- 46:00that I? Daniel and I were talking about this earlier. So I am
- 46:05going to the Grand Rapids Comic Con, like I've said in the previous shows.
- 46:10And I just got an email from the press people at the Grand Rapids
- 46:15Comic Con that I just got approved for press passes. So my my intricate
- 46:21plan to be inserted as a co host of this show has finally paid off.
- 46:28So the original plan was we were going to go just Saturday, but
- 46:30I think we're gonna go Saturday and Sunday. J. G. Hertzler,
- 46:37who plays mar Talk, is going to be there as well as Robert O'Reilly,
- 46:44who plays Gowrod, is going to be there. And for Saturday,
- 46:46they're doing a special thing. What's that glory to you? Yeah? Absolutely?
- 46:52And for Saturday even more glorious, they're doing a total h with the
- 46:55two of them, which they almost never do. They're going to be in
- 47:00costume, they're gonna be on makeup, so they're actually bringing in a they're
- 47:06bringing in a Star Trek makeup artist to put them in full get up and
- 47:09there's gonna be photo ops. So I'm gonna try to be part of that.
- 47:14And then the next day, uh for one of the panels, uh,
- 47:20George de Kay is going to be there, so I'm gonna oh my
- 47:24yeah, I'm gonna be there for for both days. So I'm gonna represent
- 47:30Trek cast and like I said before, if anybody is in the southwest Michigan
- 47:34area, hit me up on Facebook and maybe we can do a little meet
- 47:37up. But yeah, Saturday and Sunday the Grand Rapids Comic Con coming up,
- 47:42so which also means I will be there Sunday. Uh, So I'm
- 47:47not quite sure what the what the situation is gonna be. If I can,
- 47:51I'm gonna bring my equipment I'm gonna bring my tripod and my phone and
- 47:53my headset, so if I can find a spot that's this coming Sunday,
- 47:59Okay, okay, So I'll once I get there Saturday and kind of see
- 48:05what the situation is. I might ask them because like one of the things,
- 48:08if you have a press pass, you also have access to like little
- 48:12interview rooms and stuff like that. I'll see if I can steal one for
- 48:15a little while, and if not, if I can at least just get
- 48:19on for a moment and just say hey, I'm here whatever. So we'll
- 48:22figure that out, all right, Cool, cool, Cool, that's exciting.
- 48:28Yeah, we're excited. Nice. Well, then let's get to listener
- 48:32feedback all right, open frequently. Hey, I know how we do it
- 48:44on that crawl. I'll get to it when I get to it. It's
- 48:47been a busy week. Hey, go ahead and call that number. Say
- 48:51how to Chad? Yeah, xCE up in the chat guys if you want
- 48:55to talk to us. Uh. In the meantime, I did ask a
- 48:59question in all of our social media, is that the replicator is stuck on
- 49:04the last thing nelix eight? What is it? We got a lot of
- 49:07leola, Yeah, got a lot of uh yeah, yeah. The other
- 49:14one which I'm not sure if it was a sex joke or a cannibalistic joke,
- 49:20but Kess was listed on there a lot. Yeah, So you can
- 49:28take them that whatever you want. That's great. Yeah. And in case,
- 49:30in case anyone's wondering for me to drive two Grand rapids, it's uh
- 49:37ten hours and forty one minutes if I go, oh, you can do
- 49:40it in even ten hours if I go through Canada. Yeah, you know,
- 49:45I got passport. If I stay in the US, it's a it's
- 49:50an extra hour. Well okay. Uh. The other thing too with that
- 49:55question that I asked our social media is some people legit antimately got into an
- 50:00argument about well, Neelix would never use the replicator he was a cook.
- 50:06Uh yeah, no, he re used the replicator on occasion when he had,
- 50:13you know, to make Jane Wake coffee. Even Gordon Ramsey hits up
- 50:19a drive from time to time. Sure, it doesn't matter, you're gonna
- 50:22like, I'm gonna google it right now. Yeah, well you're doing that.
- 50:28We have people Google. Did Nelix ever use a replicator? Yeah?
- 50:31Okay, Google before you don't know how it works. Google's gonna be like,
- 50:37I'm not gonna answer that, nerd. All right, well we got
- 50:44people with let's let's get going. We got t Bear, so let me
- 50:46bring him on there. He is, Hey, what's going on? Man?
- 50:52So I think Neelix actually cheated. He replicated ingredients and then cooked it.
- 50:58Okay, technically it's not. It's kind of like, you know,
- 51:00this is an organic food, but technically it's not because natural ingredients. Yeah,
- 51:08he should definitely replicate cheese whenever he has the opportunity. It's always cheese.
- 51:15He replicates some he replicated a clone of him and Tubac. Oh wait
- 51:27too soon is living a or prison planet somewhere. You know, at this
- 51:37point, I'm not leaving anybody breakfast sausage. It is not good, sir.
- 51:50Yeah, that was a little dry, like like British humor. Oh
- 51:55man, you can't even get it out. Cry we're breaking Scott Beam indirectly
- 52:14to sick medical emergency right, oh my? Oh wow? Oh Dad,
- 52:30still looking up to see. It's one of those things sometimes you google something
- 52:36and there's just so many results that aren't what you're looking for that you have
- 52:39to scroll past, and then you and then you give and then you give
- 52:43up and you get back to your podcast and you wonder, what's everybody laughing
- 52:46about? Because your phone? Hey t Bear, I see that you showed
- 52:53up. Oh that was good. That was good. I think that This
- 53:08is the second time I jumped out of my couch when I saw the scene
- 53:13and when they introduced Nick mccarno, and that was like, yeah, this
- 53:16one was Oh, I forgot I think it was season three per card.
- 53:22I forget what did that? But this one was like the show up?
- 53:27You got excited? Which one that Lady Doctor in season was it two?
- 53:34Oh? The Lady Doctor? Yeah? Oh yeah, I think everybody we're
- 53:37all excited about that. We were all excited about her. Yeah. Yeah,
- 53:42she s in prison too. That's where Rios is, he said,
- 53:47the Cardassian prison camp. Yeah, play soccer and run. I think Januine
- 53:57knows it because that's where she said tubics I, oh yeah, well yeah,
- 54:01for anybody. She was like, she's gonna set them straight to the
- 54:04Cardio prison, she said, said she said, two vic to the afterlife.
- 54:09That's where she says, right, that's what she she killed him,
- 54:15that's right, in cold blood. But that's why she's getting the Prodigy kids
- 54:22she's gonna go, They're gonna go. What's that? She's gonna kill the
- 54:28kids too, dude? See what was the episode she tried to kill the
- 54:31kids. She's gonna merge them all together first, That's that's step. They
- 54:36don't kill anybody in Star Trek. They all go to the Cardassian prison.
- 54:39Cardassian Prison is the phantom zone of Star Trek. There as long as you
- 54:45can merge enough of them together where they're not cohesive or you know they're not.
- 54:51So it's so Tom Thomas, Riker, Cido Jackson, General Zod.
- 54:57Who else is there is in there too? Jerky for instance? Now he's
- 55:12just getting dark. What did Eddy didn't do to you? Send him a
- 55:22Paddington Bear trying to make a point and would just keep I forgot the point.
- 55:28So what do you think is gonna happen in the finale? Ooh,
- 55:37I was feeling that this Nicola Cardinal turn is not He's not. I don't
- 55:42think he's a big bad I think there's something else behind it. Okay,
- 55:45he's just kind of like not a pond, but someone else is pulling the
- 55:49strings and they're using him, because how does someone like that break out of
- 55:53a well I should say prison or whatever he was put into and end up
- 55:59with a ship, because if you look at that ship, it didn't it
- 56:01looked a little starfleet to me, just the styling. Maybe it's a little
- 56:06bit futuristic starfleet. So okay, God help. I still hope they don't
- 56:10go into the thirty first century, but you never know. Yeah I don't.
- 56:15I don't think lower decks will do that, but yeah, gonna show
- 56:20up. No fingers crossed right here to the red Angel. Yes, I
- 56:30thought that you were bird where what's her name? Mariner was jumping out and
- 56:36taking care of things on her own. I at first I thought that was,
- 56:38Oh, they're totally poking fun at Burnham, because that's something Burna would
- 56:42do. She would just jump out and not tell anybody else plan and you
- 56:46know, come back and offer the bear because somehow it worked out. So
- 56:52yeah, I think there's some somebody else I think they did saying that they
- 56:57need to do with with Michael, which is like, you see her struggle
- 57:01first, and then we have the emotional breakdown, not the emotional breakdown,
- 57:06and we never see them struggle. That's true. Yeah, you see them
- 57:10struggle with their emotional breakdown. That's the problem with their Yeah, yeah,
- 57:15who knows. Maybe maybe she strug says, the big bat will be ash
- 57:22Tyler. Oh hey, there was real quick. There was a throwaway line
- 57:29Taylan the Vulcan woman the lower Decker. Uh she said, she yeah,
- 57:37she said she was in the battle with the pack Leads. That's the end
- 57:40of season one, the one where the Hall Wriker shows up and Mariners like,
- 57:45wait, you you were at the battle with the pack Lids. And
- 57:47then it just the action started and it was just like a throwaway line.
- 57:51Throw Away lines like that that usually lead into something more. I mean,
- 57:54they don't write it, animate it, and voice it for no reason.
- 57:59But she was like, we saw that during the Battle of the pack Lids.
- 58:00We saw other lower decks and she was there, do you do you
- 58:04think that they're gonna make something to that. They could. I wouldn't put
- 58:07it past them, But okay, that's just something I noticed. Kevin's dropping
- 58:12more nuggets here. Something has to be tied in with the Culvert starburst.
- 58:16That's the logo on Nick and on the Bird of Prey. I know what
- 58:24it was that the cult starbursts. It's actually going to open up a portal
- 58:29to let in a mechanical ai. It opens a portal to a Kardassian prison
- 58:43prison. You can watch the show. He's so he's collecting people for the
- 58:53technology, and then he's collecting like himself and then four other starfleet officers so
- 58:58they can make They got a you the you know it takes five you know
- 59:02to do lower decks. That is that the thing Kevin from Seahawk maybe uh
- 59:16with recipes now on roasting over a fire to play the marshmallow un show us
- 59:29on the doll where Paddington hurt you? So are those are those replicated marshmallows.
- 59:38They come out of a special mellow marshmallow dispenser. They don't ask questions.
- 59:45Yeah, I don't think we need any more detail. Obviously the registry
- 59:52and obviously it's the Spock marshmallow maker. Imagine all the Paddington means you're gonna
- 1:00:00get now, Daniel, No, not the good ones at least. No,
- 1:00:07you're not gonna get any good ones. Bears right now? T bear
- 1:00:15Yeah he's a bear. Oh, this could go in all kinds of directions.
- 1:00:28It's gonna make Paddington poutine. Yeah there is, oh my well yeah,
- 1:00:37yeah, good time to sign off on my side with that. Oh
- 1:00:45you think you could just start this make this mess walk away and walks away.
- 1:00:50That's very good, all right, all right guys by And then we
- 1:00:57also got jazz Biz. Who there he is? Why all the hate for
- 1:01:07Paddington right now? I don't know. It's like, come on, that's
- 1:01:10that's a great series because I've been holding it in for like six years.
- 1:01:16Watch Paddington too. It's actually a good movie. It's it's really funny,
- 1:01:20So I will endeavor to watch it this month. Yeah, good, it's
- 1:01:23actually really good. It's it's good. Maybe there's a reason why Nicholas Cage
- 1:01:28loved it so much and put it in his movie. Yes, that's it's
- 1:01:30actually good, so check it out. Well, Well, what do you
- 1:01:36think of the episode? You know, this was probably the best episode of
- 1:01:38this season because everybody's talking about it. Yeah, I agree, trying to
- 1:01:45jump into conclusions like what's going to happen for the finale next week? So
- 1:01:49I mean, look at Danny's googling right now. He's not even paying attention,
- 1:01:52that's right. Yeah, he's going sorry to Google. He's got the
- 1:02:00red uh Fred durstatt and he's just rolling, rolling roll. If you zoom
- 1:02:06in on his glasses, you can see the reflection of his house. Oh
- 1:02:08there you go. Yeah, all right, star man. Uh so,
- 1:02:19what do you think of what's gonna happen in this finale? Uh well,
- 1:02:23I think we'll see the starburst maneuver and that'll be the end of Nicole Carno.
- 1:02:30How oh my god, Dan, you're saying Nick's gonna die. I
- 1:02:36think that's how he's gonna He's gonna run away and he are going to do
- 1:02:40the star bars. Oh my god. What the heck is that? A
- 1:02:52screenshop from Paddington to a murder. I didn't give him enough marmalade, so
- 1:03:02he's going after people. He's straight up, he's straight up Jane Wade,
- 1:03:07that girl, that's right. Wow. He will Jane Waite be in this
- 1:03:13prison camp? Ah hm? And how many bad murals will be in this
- 1:03:19prison camp? Oh? Who's not? Yeah, amigo. And and then
- 1:03:25like the Marquis will be in there, and yeah, several other Bajorans.
- 1:03:30So the one armed Bajoran to Carre his friend will definitely be in there.
- 1:03:37Dan Is frostback, No, I'm not sorry, Yeah, no, Yeah,
- 1:03:44we'll have to get to the bottom of that some kind of fan theory
- 1:03:49that is, yeah, yeah, my my, uh my alternate persona when
- 1:03:55I send stuff is Facebook Facebook user. Yeah, yeah, Chas. Are
- 1:04:08you excited that Nick Leccardo's back or not? Or yeah, I'm actually it's
- 1:04:13finally we get to see him with everybody's always talked about him. Will he
- 1:04:15ever repair? You know, who's going to pay the writer to show one?
- 1:04:19I'm happy for the writer. Is that actually Robert duncan McNeil or is
- 1:04:24it some like voice actor? No, it is, Yeah, I listened
- 1:04:29to it twice. You know, these guys have gotten I think, especially
- 1:04:31Robert duncan McNeil. He doesn't sound the same as he did twenty five years
- 1:04:38ago. No, well nobody does. Nobody. Does your voice sound the
- 1:04:44same at all? Not Riker does er h. Yeah. It's kind of
- 1:04:49sad. With Patrick Stewart, you keep looking for that strong voice he had.
- 1:04:53He never a little bit. There was like one speech in season three
- 1:04:57where you could kind of hear old picr Hard, but the rest it was
- 1:05:01like you know grand Pappy, Yeah, people get old, you know,
- 1:05:05yeah, yeah, and you missed that. You're hoping that he could continue.
- 1:05:11It's like Shattner, he can still you know, well, probably talks
- 1:05:17to himself in his sleep and when's conversations. Probably, and he's actually been
- 1:05:26to space. He's the only yeah, to go to space. Yeah.
- 1:05:32And then it was that nildagrists like, actually he didn't go to space,
- 1:05:36he just went right yeah, would you okay, we get how far above
- 1:05:44the disc did his ship go? I'm just curious. I don't know.
- 1:05:48Oh yeah, the flat earth? Yes, well is flat? Flat earth?
- 1:05:57Joke a joke? The joke fell flat. That's right. Well,
- 1:06:03they put Captain Kirk in a penis shaped rocket go to space. I think
- 1:06:11you just made the powers joke? Yeah, did behave Johnson? What happened
- 1:06:21to was like you don't even hear about them launching those rockets anymore? Like
- 1:06:26what happened? They did? They do all the time? What penis shaped
- 1:06:29rockets? Oh yeah, all the time, all the time. Have you
- 1:06:31seen them? It was like the Blue Origin ones. They're they're pretty fallical
- 1:06:34there. They've been sending up like satellites and other stuff like that. They
- 1:06:40they send up satellite Yeah, and I think there's been like some a couple
- 1:06:48of resupplies to the International Space Station stuff. Like that. Okay. You
- 1:06:53know. My favorite meme from that whole thing, that whole Shatner and Space
- 1:06:57thing was the group photo of the crew and the crew him. It was
- 1:07:00two men and I think one woman, and someone said my prediction, the
- 1:07:05two guys die and Shatner saves the girl. There you Yeah, I wonder
- 1:07:15how Passtop George was. They had words online when Shatner went up. Yeah
- 1:07:25he uh yeah. He was like, oh, William Shatner's fat and blah
- 1:07:28blah blah, and William Shatner was like, yeah, I might be fat,
- 1:07:30but I'm William Shatner and I just went to Space. So yeah,
- 1:07:35I love how petty they are with each other. It's bad. I'll ask
- 1:07:41him about it when I see him next Sunday. Bring up Shatner. Yeah,
- 1:07:45how are your feelings about William about old Bill? You and Bill Shatner
- 1:07:48friends. Have you talked to Bill lately? Yeah? Yeah, yeah,
- 1:07:58it's that is cool. Yeah, I'm excited. Cool and the full makeup
- 1:08:03and everything. Markt talk and at the same time you got to get a
- 1:08:09picture of his Yeah, I'm definitely going to years ago, years ago at
- 1:08:15the uh what's what's the hotel where they do the convention in Vegas. I'm
- 1:08:19drawing a break right now. The Rio Rio. I was online at a
- 1:08:24coffee shop uh in the morning to get my coffee and apparently uh mart Talk
- 1:08:29and I are on this are on the same caffeine schedule with him for a
- 1:08:32few minutes chatting. So that was wow. Yeah, it's like he's definitely
- 1:08:39one of my favorite like characters. He's like Garrett to me. Yeah.
- 1:08:44Well, Gorin and Martalk outside of Wharf are two of the most well known
- 1:08:47and influential Klingons in the Star Trek universe. That's true. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:08:54they probably have the most screen time outside of Wharf. Yeah. And
- 1:09:00when you first see uh Mark Talk, you think he's going to be this
- 1:09:02bad, bad guy, but really, you know, he turns because they
- 1:09:06had the klon you a war. Yep. Well, the first time you
- 1:09:11see him, it's not him. It's not him. The first time you
- 1:09:13see it's not him. Yeah, because he has both eyes and he went
- 1:09:17to Cardassian prison probably, that's right. It's like anybody, anybody who's anybody,
- 1:09:29anybody who's anybody has spent some time at Cardassian prison camp. That yees,
- 1:09:33yes, that's I was gonna say that's gonna be the new truck cast
- 1:09:44T shirt. I went to a Cardassian prison. Yeah, I got that's
- 1:09:50pretty good. Come on, where Chad went is to the prison campus?
- 1:10:00Oh no, he wants a short trek special bar talk on the hunt for
- 1:10:05Paddington. Awesome, I'll take it. No, AI generate that klingon cutting.
- 1:10:16Let's get on that. Okay, I generated Martak Killy Paddington with the
- 1:10:23bat lift, just cutting him in half. Yeah, pretty cool. We're
- 1:10:27going to traumatize Daniel. Yeah, my birthdays tomorrow. Come on? Oh
- 1:10:32man, how old are you going to be? Forty three? Forty three?
- 1:10:36Yeah? I turned forty four two months so nice. I didn't think
- 1:10:41you were that old, Daniel. I know, I get that a lot.
- 1:10:45Ye. How about you, Scott? How old are you? I'm
- 1:10:47forty five? There you go? All right, I'm forty six. So
- 1:10:50all the nerds here about the same age. Yeah that's right. Well,
- 1:10:57Jas does anything else you want to bring up? That's all all right,
- 1:11:01you know, just spend Like this season kind of dragged a little bit,
- 1:11:05but this episode I think has made up for it. This was agreed.
- 1:11:11It had a lot, you know, like I was saying like they can
- 1:11:14refer back to certain stuff, but don't overly do it. Kind of make
- 1:11:19a episode like this about you know, character build, like let's have a
- 1:11:23backstory, let's work on And yeah, I thought the whole time Nicola Krno
- 1:11:33was going to be the guy with the helmet on. Oh, because it
- 1:11:39definitely was a Star Wars episode. Yeah, that was definitely return of the
- 1:11:45Jedi doing age sex check. Yeah, it's like an all chat room,
- 1:11:51right, Yeah, that's what I was saying. I just did it.
- 1:11:56Sounds forty five male, Southwest Michigan. There you go. The way you
- 1:12:08said that sounds like like in football when they're showing all the players like your
- 1:12:14ground. Yeah, University of Ohio State. Whoa, tye is one hundred
- 1:12:24and three. But that's so I was gonna say, it's middle aged for
- 1:12:28a Vulcan. That's the dog ears, right, So that's yeah, So
- 1:12:33we have to divide by seven? Yea. Take him like ten minutes to
- 1:12:36type that out because he's so yeah, quick day google what's three divide by
- 1:12:47seven? I'm doing the math right now. Okay, Yeah, I don't
- 1:13:00think I would be curious to see to know how old our oldest listener is,
- 1:13:06oh, that would be interesting, which also reminds me I just listened
- 1:13:11to trek cat over the week. During the work week, I listened to
- 1:13:15trek Cast episode one from two thousand and eight, and you have a whole
- 1:13:21nother host on there that just a couple of different hosts. Yeah, and
- 1:13:27then he moved to was it Vegas and everything in Vegas? Yeah? Yeah,
- 1:13:33well it was you remember the guy that was the with the boorg that
- 1:13:42used to be on a lot vernon or yeah, oh yeah, yeah,
- 1:13:47yeah, he passed away like this year. Yeah, who's this? He
- 1:13:53used to be on a recurrent character like you'd always talk about Star Trek things
- 1:13:57on the original Trek Cast. Yeah. Oh, this is the original series
- 1:14:01of this. If you go back in the I vaguely know who you're talking
- 1:14:03about many episodes of the show. Was he was he a co host or
- 1:14:09was he like all pumping every now and then I can talk about Star Trek's
- 1:14:13experience and everything. He was on the Scott Plan too. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:14:19trying to assimilate, that's what you are. You're I'm a board.
- 1:14:24I'm assimilating. Resistance is feudial strong board. That's right. Put that on
- 1:14:32a T shirt. I'll have to I'll have to go back and listen to
- 1:14:38some of those old episodes. I haven't listened to them in uh in years.
- 1:14:42I remember a couple of years ago I listened to the first one that
- 1:14:45you guys put out. Oh God, oh stop bad. But it's yeah,
- 1:14:49because I remember the first time I heard, I was like, what
- 1:14:51the hell is happening? I was, I wasn't gonna say to that.
- 1:14:57It wasn't great. The secondisode was better. I think the first episode you
- 1:15:00guys had some sad issues. But David Thomas, that's right, Scott,
- 1:15:05can you can Yeah, Scott can listen to the old episodes, so you
- 1:15:10can't do that. My favorite, my favorite review, my favorite review of
- 1:15:17of our first episode. And I'm pretty sure this is a direct quote.
- 1:15:23Yeah, new guys. Yeah, actually I read. I was on a
- 1:15:31couple of different podcast players, and I was reading the reviews for this oh
- 1:15:35God, for this show. Uh maybe maybe I think you guys have done
- 1:15:40this before, where you read some of the reviews for this show, some
- 1:15:43of the some of the one star reviews. Oh they're fantastic, Yeah,
- 1:15:48straight up, yeah, they're fantastic. We should we should read some off
- 1:15:55sometime. Who would have thought the internet doesn't like change? Yeah, yes,
- 1:16:02now I haven't read a review since I came on the show. Oh
- 1:16:06yeah, we'll have to see if there's any reviews. I'll leave one right
- 1:16:11now. New guy, Guy, why would you gress up as a nurse
- 1:16:19and have all these pips on your I am the head nurse. I am
- 1:16:28I maybe maybe I'm like the head, like the nurse, head nurse instructor.
- 1:16:33He's the he's the d O n he's the director of nursing. Yeah,
- 1:16:40I gotcha because I got the try chorder. But if you keep giving
- 1:16:43me lip, yeah, he will, he will keep The guy is always
- 1:16:50wrong, He's not finger or anything. All right, Jazz was great having
- 1:17:01you on. Yes, thanks, thank you. Thanks guys. You got
- 1:17:04to cut me off now. All right? Wow, this show has been
- 1:17:13wild. I love it. I love it absolutely all right? Do we
- 1:17:17have anything else to share? Uh? Well, I'm gonna go play the
- 1:17:21Star Trek role playing game with some friends later this afternoon. Awesome, Okay,
- 1:17:26I'll let you know how that goes. Scott Scott apparently he's playing it
- 1:17:29right now. I know, yeah, yeah, sure I am, yeah,
- 1:17:32sure am, I'm gonna go visit dad. He's back in the hospital,
- 1:17:36oh man with the same thing. Yeah. Yeah, So I'm gonna,
- 1:17:40I'm gonna, I'm gonna shoot down to where he lives. And well,
- 1:17:44we're all pulling for him. Thank you, thank you. I'll let
- 1:17:46him, I'll let him. I'll let him know that a bunch of people
- 1:17:49he doesn't know on a show he's never listened to. Yeah. Absolutely,
- 1:17:55everybody think about and pray for Dan's dad. So there you go, there
- 1:17:58you go. Awesome. Well, thanks every mom. Yes, we'll see
- 1:18:02you guys later. All right, siyah bye, guys. This is Captain
