- 0:37Speaker 4: Copy Shop Big ninety eight point setter.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Celebrating life's little victories victory every morning we practice gratitude
- 0:46Speaker 1: on Big ninety eight point seven. If I could, I
- 0:48Speaker 1: would keep this feeling in a plastic job busted out
- 0:51Speaker 1: whenever someone's acting hard. I just really needed to win,
- 0:54Speaker 1: you know, Share your little victories with us at seven
- 0:57Speaker 1: oh one two ate a one ninety eight seven.
- 1:01Speaker 5: If you ever have a little victory, go ahead and
- 1:03Speaker 5: share it with us at seven oh one two eight
- 1:06Speaker 5: zero one nine eight seven.
- 1:08Speaker 3: And we got to give a big shout out to
- 1:10Speaker 3: Renee this morning.
- 1:12Speaker 5: Renee, she said they were getting their family ready for
- 1:15Speaker 5: like Christmas photos. You know, they sent out Christmas cards
- 1:18Speaker 5: and what have you. And she said her little kids
- 1:20Speaker 5: cooperated the entire time. Wow, an hour long ordeal, an
- 1:25Speaker 5: hour and a half deal. They just they got on
- 1:27Speaker 5: their outfits, took their little photos, and continued on with
- 1:31Speaker 5: their day.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Those kids knew that Sanna was making the naughty nicest one.
- 1:36Speaker 2: They're like, we're gonna get on that nice list. Good
- 1:39Speaker 2: for you, Renee Angie. Do you have a little victory
- 1:42Speaker 2: for us here this morning? I kind of know what
- 1:44Speaker 2: it is not to uh, I guess steal your shine.
- 1:47Speaker 2: But I really love your little victory today because I
- 1:50Speaker 2: was wondering this exact thing. Okay, So and I had
- 1:53Speaker 2: to tell you before we did little victories because I
- 1:55Speaker 2: was so excited. I like practically hopped in here like
- 1:59Speaker 2: a jack rabbit, so excited to let you know that
- 2:03Speaker 2: I saw on the way to work one of the
- 2:06Speaker 2: snow plows, and the snowplow I saw because it says
- 2:10Speaker 2: it looks like it's like a red ribbon and there's
- 2:13Speaker 2: writing on it.
- 2:14Speaker 5: Hm.
- 2:14Speaker 4: I saw buzz ice clear.
- 2:17Speaker 3: Oh, one of the snowballs flowing away.
- 2:19Speaker 4: Yes, I was so excited. Ivan buzz ice Clear is
- 2:22Speaker 4: like the coolest, it's great.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Name of all of them, although there's a lot of
- 2:25Speaker 2: good ones Betty wide out plow, a bung uh flower
- 2:28Speaker 2: bunk comes to mind, but I got to see buzz
- 2:31Speaker 2: ice clear. And as a desert girl who never had
- 2:34Speaker 2: to deal with snowplows doing anything, this was the highlight
- 2:38Speaker 2: for me. This is like the little victory of a
- 2:39Speaker 2: century for me.
- 2:40Speaker 5: I think that's so cool because we had asked that,
- 2:44Speaker 5: you know, hey, when they get the submissions for these
- 2:47Speaker 5: names of these snowplows, do we know or will we
- 2:51Speaker 5: know which one is which? And I love knowing the
- 2:54Speaker 5: fact that yes, you will know, or you'll at least
- 2:56Speaker 5: be able to tell.
- 2:57Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm so excited.
- 2:59Speaker 5: I'm so jealous because I drove past a bunch of
- 3:01Speaker 5: snowplows this morning too, and I don't know if I
- 3:03Speaker 5: was in pain, attention or who knows, but I didn't
- 3:06Speaker 5: see that and.
- 3:07Speaker 4: I was just I did. So there.
- 3:10Speaker 5: Well, I'm happy for you as we practice gratitude here
- 3:13Speaker 5: this morning, Angie, do you know what my little victory is?
- 3:16Speaker 3: And it's so selfish?
- 3:18Speaker 4: Oh I like this already. What's your selfish?
- 3:20Speaker 3: Okay, Corey and I. Corey's my wife.
- 3:23Speaker 5: If you don't know, Corey and I are the worst
- 3:26Speaker 5: when it comes to birthday gifts. Not that we don't
- 3:28Speaker 5: get them, but we when we order them or grab them,
- 3:32Speaker 5: we always it's always kind of sort of last ish minute.
- 3:35Speaker 5: Well for me it is. She might put in a
- 3:37Speaker 5: little more time in thought than I do. But yeah,
- 3:39Speaker 5: we're always getting these things in the mail, like a
- 3:43Speaker 5: couple days before our birthday. Okay, well, my birthday is
- 3:46Speaker 5: tomorrow and my gifts from my wife showed up via
- 3:50Speaker 5: Amazon yesterday, and you the course, we opened them. Corey
- 3:55Speaker 5: and I have no patients on both halfsen get the
- 4:00Speaker 5: other person something.
- 4:01Speaker 3: It's will you open this?
- 4:03Speaker 5: Because I'm excited to see you open this, And then
- 4:05Speaker 5: obviously it's like, well, yeah, I love gifts, I'll open
- 4:07Speaker 5: this right now.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Okay, well now I'm excited. What did you get for
- 4:10Speaker 2: your birthday?
- 4:10Speaker 1: So?
- 4:10Speaker 5: I got this golf hat that I really think is cool.
- 4:13Speaker 5: And then I had asked for a new pair of
- 4:16Speaker 5: joggers for when I walk the dog. They're kind of
- 4:18Speaker 5: like insulated, just to stay a little bit warmer during
- 4:22Speaker 5: our December January, February walks we have coming.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Up This is how I know that you're turning thirty five.
- 4:30Speaker 5: You know, there was a gift I got for Christmas
- 4:33Speaker 5: one year. I asked my or my mother asked me,
- 4:35Speaker 5: what would you like for Christmas? And I was like,
- 4:37Speaker 5: I really want to shop back. It's like a back, Yeah,
- 4:41Speaker 5: an adult. That's when I knew it was all going
- 4:43Speaker 5: down here. You know the thing that you're thinking about.
- 4:49Speaker 1: But you're too polite to say, we got you dying
- 4:54Speaker 1: on the hill of controversial.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Opinions, so you don't have to.
- 5:01Speaker 1: This is sorry, not sorry on Big nine eight point seven.
- 5:05Speaker 4: Yes, I love a sorry not sorry? What is eating
- 5:09Speaker 4: you up today, Gabe?
- 5:11Speaker 5: I'll be honest, this might rub a lot of people
- 5:14Speaker 5: the wrong way here this morning. There was a moment
- 5:16Speaker 5: yesterday we were kind of towards the end of our.
- 5:22Speaker 3: Boss chit chat meeting.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Oh that's right, so we definitely got all of the
- 5:26Speaker 2: important stuff out of the way.
- 5:27Speaker 5: That's right to the end. Yeah, you know, you just
- 5:29Speaker 5: started kind of chit chatting a little bit about life.
- 5:31Speaker 5: Something came up about a certain Disney movie. And I
- 5:35Speaker 5: don't mean to attack your brand or basically my wife's
- 5:39Speaker 5: brand here this morning, but there was a movie discussed.
- 5:42Speaker 5: That got me thinking that what an ungrateful, little terrible lady.
- 5:50Speaker 3: I had to clean that up a little bit. Sorry.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Wait, okay, now now you remember the movie, Yes, okay,
- 5:56Speaker 2: we were talking about this person.
- 5:59Speaker 4: Isn't it any wouldn't jump.
- 6:02Speaker 5: You know exactly who that is? The aerial from the
- 6:04Speaker 5: Little Mermaid. Well, I got something to say, and get
- 6:07Speaker 5: off my chest. And if you love the Little Mermaid,
- 6:09Speaker 5: you go ahead and love it. But I gotta say this,
- 6:12Speaker 5: The Little Mermaid is the worst complainer under the sea.
- 6:16Speaker 3: Okay.
- 6:16Speaker 5: Her dad is the king of the entire ocean. The
- 6:21Speaker 5: dude to control seventy percent of the Earth's surface. That's
- 6:26Speaker 5: more territory than any landlord, emperor or ho eight president
- 6:31Speaker 5: in the history of life. Okay, and ariels down here
- 6:34Speaker 5: under the under in the underwater palace. She got a
- 6:38Speaker 5: sparkly tail, an unlimited seafood buffet. This chick takes dolphins
- 6:43Speaker 5: as uber rides. Okay, and she's singing.
- 6:47Speaker 4: I want more.
- 6:49Speaker 3: It's never enough for these girls.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Never.
- 6:52Speaker 3: Okay. You want to be up.
- 6:53Speaker 5: Here with the people where we pay rent and argue
- 6:56Speaker 5: about who has to take out the trash.
- 6:59Speaker 3: She's got everything.
- 7:00Speaker 5: Coral mansions, Mermaid WiFi, a royal allowance, but no Celand's.
- 7:06Speaker 4: More and the more is just eric.
- 7:11Speaker 5: Aerial girl. Okay, you don't need legs. What you need
- 7:14Speaker 5: is gratitude and maybe like a therapist who specializes in
- 7:19Speaker 5: princess with grass is greener sitting Romeo.
- 7:21Speaker 3: Okay, how about you be grateful for what you got?
- 7:24Speaker 4: Could be hard on them. You don't deserve to be
- 7:28Speaker 4: part of that world.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Area, in the world of rules in gray areas, one
- 7:35Speaker 1: morning show dares to ask the hard questions.
- 7:37Speaker 3: We both know you're guilty.
- 7:39Speaker 4: He's guilty.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Is it legal?
- 7:41Speaker 5: You're guilty of the worst crime of all? On Big
- 7:44Speaker 5: ninety eight point seven, is there a law about how
- 7:50Speaker 5: many Christmas lights I can put up on my house?
- 7:53Speaker 2: If it's gonna be bad news? I don't want to
- 7:55Speaker 2: hear it, Gabe, but I need to hear it.
- 7:57Speaker 4: Okay, what is it?
- 7:58Speaker 3: The answer is absolutely not. You go nuts.
- 8:02Speaker 5: You wrap your porch, wrap your trees, wrap your dog.
- 8:04Speaker 5: If it'll sit still long enough, it's all fair game.
- 8:07Speaker 5: If you want your home to be visible from space,
- 8:12Speaker 5: say hi to NASA.
- 8:14Speaker 3: All right, there is a little bit of a twist though.
- 8:16Speaker 5: Okay, Well, the city doesn't care about how bright your
- 8:19Speaker 5: lights might be. They do care about how loud those
- 8:23Speaker 5: lights might be, which sounds a bit ridiculous until you
- 8:26Speaker 5: meet the one neighbor who has the light show synced
- 8:29Speaker 5: up with eighty six amplifiers. Yeah, yeah, you know they
- 8:34Speaker 5: sink them to some dubstep music. Okay, Suddenly Rudolph is
- 8:38Speaker 5: in guiding the sleigh. He's dropping the base like he's
- 8:40Speaker 5: head into a rave. And don't forget the folks who
- 8:43Speaker 5: run their show every twelve minutes, complete with a narrator
- 8:48Speaker 5: fireworks in a fog machine. Pretty soon you got traffic
- 8:50Speaker 5: backed up like it's a drive thru. It's Santa's workshop,
- 8:53Speaker 5: all right, So you can shine bright like a diamond
- 8:56Speaker 5: in the FM area, light up the whole neighborhood if
- 8:58Speaker 5: you want.
- 8:59Speaker 3: You might get a couple of plaints, but technically you'd
- 9:01Speaker 3: be all right. You might just want to keep.
- 9:03Speaker 5: The Santa dubstep baseline to a respectable volume, okay, because
- 9:09Speaker 5: nobody wants to explain to city Hall that they got
- 9:11Speaker 5: a noise complaint from Santa.
- 9:13Speaker 2: That's fine by me.
- 9:17Speaker 5: Have you ever received a text, an email, or maybe
- 9:21Speaker 5: sent a text or an email in my case, here
- 9:24Speaker 5: where there was a little bit of an autocorrect or
- 9:26Speaker 5: a typo. If you are like me, okay, I'm the
- 9:30Speaker 5: world's worst speller. I mean truly, that part of my
- 9:33Speaker 5: brain just does not operate. I am constantly asking Angie,
- 9:38Speaker 5: how do you spell this? How do you spell that?
- 9:40Speaker 5: It's just oh, but I like that because then I
- 9:42Speaker 5: feel useful. I was the spelling bee champ in seventh grade.
- 9:46Speaker 3: It's just an art I don't have.
- 9:48Speaker 5: So my wife has gotten very used to when I
- 9:51Speaker 5: send a text, like what does that say?
- 9:53Speaker 3: But she kind of works it through.
- 9:54Speaker 6: She deciphers it for exactly until I sent this text
- 9:59Speaker 6: the other day, and I could not have been I
- 10:03Speaker 6: meant this in all caps faster.
- 10:05Speaker 3: Oh gosh, why my wife sent me this photo?
- 10:09Speaker 4: I started my day with a cup of Joe.
- 10:11Speaker 3: That's the wrong button.
- 10:12Speaker 5: My wife sends me this photo the other day and
- 10:16Speaker 5: it was basically, I'm gonna take it down a little
- 10:18Speaker 5: story here. It was basically, hey do you like this outfit?
- 10:21Speaker 5: Like what do you think of this shirt? Blah blah blah, right, okay.
- 10:24Speaker 5: It was like a she set up the camera to
- 10:27Speaker 5: send me the po oh okay, yes, and she had
- 10:29Speaker 5: kind of moved. It was like a full body.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:31Speaker 5: She had kind of moved back a little bit from
- 10:33Speaker 5: the camera and she was like, hey, what do you
- 10:35Speaker 5: think of this outfit? And I said, it's kind of
- 10:39Speaker 5: hard to see too fat.
- 10:43Speaker 7: What I meant was too far far all caps far far.
- 10:52Speaker 7: I meant far. That's far away for me, too not
- 10:56Speaker 7: close enough? Panic button, panic button.
- 11:01Speaker 4: This is my favorite thing that's ever happened.
- 11:04Speaker 5: Not great, not my best moment, but also what am
- 11:08Speaker 5: I supposed to do?
- 11:10Speaker 4: That's funny?
- 11:11Speaker 2: Well, no, you know what would have been worse is
- 11:14Speaker 2: if when you went to send the correction it was
- 11:17Speaker 2: like message not delivered, message.
- 11:19Speaker 5: Delivered actually blocked my number or something seven oh one
- 11:23Speaker 5: two eight zero one nine eight seven. Have you ever
- 11:26Speaker 5: had an accidental typo or received one?
- 11:30Speaker 3: Let us know here this morning.
- 11:32Speaker 5: This was also up on Facebook, Greg, This was great,
- 11:36Speaker 5: Greg said, I had I once had a boss with
- 11:38Speaker 5: the first name of Leon. We received an envelope with
- 11:42Speaker 5: his first name as Fleon.
- 11:46Speaker 3: I laughed so hard. That's that's actually very cute. Leon.
- 11:49Speaker 4: Well, now that has to be the boss's nickname for.
- 11:52Speaker 5: All of eternity, especially if this is some construction kind
- 11:55Speaker 5: of blue collar job.
- 11:57Speaker 3: He is now just fleon.
- 11:58Speaker 4: You know what I want to mention.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Sometimes we have a listener who calls in who we
- 12:03Speaker 2: love and maybe you've heard her. Her name is Duaba. Yes,
- 12:07Speaker 2: but her name is not actually du Waba. It's Diana, right,
- 12:12Speaker 2: But through like a typo error from something. There was
- 12:16Speaker 2: a company that sent her, that sent her something with
- 12:20Speaker 2: her name on it and it said Duaba instead of Diana. Yeah,
- 12:24Speaker 2: and so now we call her Duaba. Sometimes a typo
- 12:27Speaker 2: leads to the coolest nicknames, so you can't be too
- 12:30Speaker 2: mad at it.
- 12:30Speaker 5: Have you ever had received and or sent a horrible
- 12:34Speaker 5: typo like that at all?
- 12:35Speaker 2: You know what? One time my sister asked I worked
- 12:38Speaker 2: at a lingerie store, and she worked at a cocktail
- 12:41Speaker 2: lounge and she needed to wear a white strapless corset.
- 12:45Speaker 2: And at the lingerie store we sold strapless and halter corsets.
- 12:50Speaker 2: So she asked me if I had any white strapless corsets.
- 12:55Speaker 2: But then I hadn't gone to work yet, so it
- 12:57Speaker 2: was hours and hours before I ever responded.
- 12:59Speaker 4: And then I find said.
- 13:00Speaker 2: I only have white haters, and she was like what old?
- 13:06Speaker 4: Yeah, and I met halters. I have white halters. And
- 13:11Speaker 4: then she calls.
- 13:12Speaker 2: She goes girl, I'm pretty sure you have more haters
- 13:15Speaker 2: than just white one, so I was confused.
- 13:17Speaker 3: We also had April.
- 13:19Speaker 5: This was great classic April said, someone texted her give
- 13:24Speaker 5: me an S E X instead of a SEC. Oh no, Well,
- 13:29Speaker 5: hold on, April, do you think that was really a typo?
- 13:33Speaker 3: Or was that me trying to enjoy his evening? And
- 13:38Speaker 3: I'm at it. Having a smartphone can be an awesome tool.
- 13:44Speaker 5: You can get the answers to things at the tip
- 13:46Speaker 5: of your fingers. You can get directions to where you
- 13:49Speaker 5: need to go out. Well, that's why I use it.
- 13:51Speaker 3: That's right.
- 13:52Speaker 5: You can use it for entertainment, but there are obviously
- 13:55Speaker 5: with every positive, al right, there's gonna be a negative. Preteen,
- 13:59Speaker 5: so this is for mostly young kids, and it can
- 14:01Speaker 5: affect adults for sure, but it's a little bit different
- 14:03Speaker 5: when your brain is still developing. Preteen smartphone use has
- 14:08Speaker 5: been linked to depression, obesity, and lack of sleep. I
- 14:13Speaker 5: think a lot of people, no matter what age they are,
- 14:16Speaker 5: can be affected by their phones with lack of sleep.
- 14:18Speaker 5: If you're laying in bed scrolling away, you know you
- 14:20Speaker 5: shouldn't you hearn all the stories or the studies about
- 14:23Speaker 5: how bad it is and how it can ruin your
- 14:25Speaker 5: sleep and things like that, And there is something to
- 14:28Speaker 5: say as we go to the holiday season. If you
- 14:31Speaker 5: know your kid wants a phone, there are some negatives
- 14:35Speaker 5: that come with that that you should just be aware of.
- 14:37Speaker 5: The depression, obesity, lack of sleep. Now, I use my
- 14:40Speaker 5: phone a lot for work. Me too, She uses her
- 14:44Speaker 5: phone almost all for work.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Yeah, but for a long time I didn't even have
- 14:48Speaker 2: a laptop, and I have a work laptop, but I'm
- 14:50Speaker 2: so used to doing work on my phone that, yeah,
- 14:53Speaker 2: most of it occurs there.
- 14:54Speaker 5: What would you say the worst part of having a
- 14:57Speaker 5: smartphone is because I do think especially kids should be
- 15:00Speaker 5: aware that it might seem fun and you can play
- 15:01Speaker 5: candy Crush all day and whatever, but there are some
- 15:04Speaker 5: problems that come with it.
- 15:05Speaker 2: I think that no, like we are not supposed to
- 15:09Speaker 2: know everybody's thoughts and opinions. We have too much access
- 15:13Speaker 2: to everybody's thoughts and opinions.
- 15:16Speaker 4: I don't think we should see those now.
- 15:18Speaker 2: My thoughts and opinions absolutely should be shared and consumed
- 15:22Speaker 2: by all. No, I'm kidding, but I feel like we
- 15:25Speaker 2: know too much about what's inside people's heads.
- 15:28Speaker 4: And I don't think that's always the best.
- 15:30Speaker 5: Yeah, and that's a positive and negative. It's a great
- 15:32Speaker 5: way to connect with people. It's a great way to
- 15:33Speaker 5: share a laugh on social media with someone who maybe
- 15:36Speaker 5: don't talk to a ton. But yeah, if you're constantly
- 15:39Speaker 5: kind of scrolling, you might learn something about somebody. Yeah,
- 15:43Speaker 5: maybe you wish you didn't know. Seven oh one two
- 15:46Speaker 5: eight zero one nine eight seven. The worst part of
- 15:49Speaker 5: having a smartphone, Tanner social media. It's the absolute worst.
- 15:54Speaker 1: People just don't know how to be civil on there.
- 15:56Speaker 1: You can know something so innocent and nice, and there
- 15:59Speaker 1: might be someone who gets on there and says.
- 16:01Speaker 6: Something mean and hurtful.
- 16:03Speaker 2: It's just as pools.
- 16:05Speaker 5: It is incredible on just about every single thing you
- 16:08Speaker 5: see on social media that goes viral, you know, thousands
- 16:11Speaker 5: of comments or what likes or whatever. Yeah, you are guaranteed,
- 16:15Speaker 5: IM one hundred percent guaranteed to find you know, the
- 16:18Speaker 5: handful of people who either eight don't get it or
- 16:21Speaker 5: be think they're super funny and share something that's really rude.
- 16:25Speaker 4: Yeah, the die hard haters.
- 16:27Speaker 2: My fifteen year old, my eight year old doesn't have
- 16:29Speaker 2: a phone at all, and my fifteen year old is
- 16:31Speaker 2: not allowed to have social media for that reason.
- 16:34Speaker 3: Right, Well, the worst.
- 16:35Speaker 5: Part I think of having a smartphone, I think the
- 16:37Speaker 5: downside Apparently this thing thinks I'm only walking ten steps
- 16:41Speaker 5: a day, okay, a real motivating factor, a nice confidence booster.
- 16:45Speaker 3: Thanks, I bunk.
- 16:47Speaker 6: Yes, this is so funny.
- 16:49Speaker 3: It hurts my feelings.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Right.
- 16:50Speaker 5: I take my dog for a walk every day. I
- 16:52Speaker 5: don't bring my phone with. How about you count those steps?
- 16:55Speaker 5: All right, Alex?
- 16:56Speaker 3: What about you? The worst part of having a phone the.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Way your phone makes everyone thinks they have twenty four
- 17:01Speaker 2: to seven.
- 17:02Speaker 4: Access to you.
- 17:02Speaker 2: If I don't respond in two hours, people assume I died,

- 17:17Speaker 5: My real answer for the worst part of having a
- 17:19Speaker 5: phone is probably just how addicting it is, as far
- 17:22Speaker 5: as like, if I don't have it and I go
- 17:24Speaker 5: to work without it, it's just an immedia panic, you know, ye,
- 17:28Speaker 5: Or if you leave it at a bar or wherever,
- 17:30Speaker 5: it's an immediate like, oh my god, I have so
- 17:33Speaker 5: much on it. I kind of hate feeling like that,
- 17:35Speaker 5: but it is what it is, and it's just there
- 17:38Speaker 5: are positives and negatives to your phone, So just be
- 17:40Speaker 5: in my be mindful of that as you head on
- 17:43Speaker 5: into the holiday season. I'm not saying you need to
- 17:46Speaker 5: like set up rules for your kids or whatever, but
- 17:49Speaker 5: it is a factor and it's just something to be
- 17:51Speaker 5: aware of.
