Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Mark Simone, live from the WOR LifeVac studios.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Hey, it's hour number three. That's right. Three hours every day.
- 0:15Speaker 2: We start at nine o'clock every morning. It's nine to noon.
- 0:17Speaker 2: So in Nashville, there's a big movement now to rename
- 0:20Speaker 2: the airport after Dolly Parton. Sounds pretty good. Dolly Parton
- 0:26Speaker 2: International Airport, Nashville, Tennessee.
- 0:28Speaker 1: But.
- 0:29Speaker 2: She was great. But, you know, you got a lot
- 0:31Speaker 2: of people there that came out of Nashville. You got
- 0:33Speaker 2: Johnny Cash. You got all those. And Nashville now is
- 0:37Speaker 2: one of the big, major cities in America. If you
- 0:40Speaker 2: haven't been there in years, it is booming. It is
- 0:43Speaker 2: just a big, huge, booming city. Now, Dolly Parton, a
- 0:49Speaker 2: lot of younger artists were really inspired by her and
- 0:54Speaker 2: great students at Dolly Parton. Harry Styles opening at MSG.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Madison Square Garden opening its residency last night. Surprised fans
- 1:03Speaker 2: by doing a huge Dolly Parton tribute. Katy Perry, same
- 1:08Speaker 2: thing in Los Angeles, gave a gushing tribute to Dolly Parton.
- 1:15Speaker 2: She meant a lot to a lot of people. Let
- 1:16Speaker 2: me play this again. We're playing this every hour. Every hour.
- 1:19Speaker 2: We want celebrities, singers... People in the entertainment business to
- 1:25Speaker 2: listen to this. Dolly Parton was a genius at not
- 1:28Speaker 2: just songwriting, but career management. That's why she stayed popular
- 1:35Speaker 2: for so long. That's why after her death, you've heard
- 1:39Speaker 2: nothing but gushing tributes. Nobody's got a bad word to
- 1:42Speaker 2: say about Dolly Parton. Nobody's got a negative thought. This
- 1:46Speaker 2: is one reason why she stayed the hell away from politicians.
- 1:50Speaker 2: The Clintons a couple of times wanted to have her
- 1:52Speaker 2: come to some event or something, and she didn't want
- 1:55Speaker 2: to be in a picture with them. Donald Trump twice
- 1:58Speaker 2: tried to give her the Medal of Freedom. She just
- 2:01Speaker 2: kind of stayed away. Well, one time it was the pandemic,
- 2:04Speaker 2: and the other time she said her husband was just
- 2:07Speaker 2: too sick and she couldn't leave. But here's a good example.
- 2:12Speaker 2: This is right after, remember the Billy Bush tape on
- 2:16Speaker 2: the bus, the Billy Bush tape? Well, that was pretty bad,
- 2:18Speaker 2: and this interviewer, then tries to get Dolly Parton to
- 2:22Speaker 2: comment on it, but she would never talk about politics.
- 2:26Speaker 3: We have a president of the United States who said
- 2:28Speaker 3: those things on that bus. I'm not addressing that. I
- 2:31Speaker 3: do not get into that. Of course I have my
- 2:33Speaker 3: opinion about everybody and everything. But I learned a long
- 2:37Speaker 3: time ago, keep your damn mouth shut if you want
- 2:39Speaker 3: to stay in show business. I'm not in politics. I'm
- 2:41Speaker 3: an entertainer.
- 2:42Speaker 2: And yet you're also a role model.
- 2:44Speaker 4: Yes, I am.
- 2:45Speaker 3: That's why I don't... Talk about people. So if you
- 2:48Speaker 3: are deciding you may want to ask me something more serious, don't,
- 2:51Speaker 3: because I'm not going.
- 2:52Speaker 5: To answer it.
- 2:53Speaker 6: Fair point. I might still ask.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Well, you can ask, but I might still tell you
- 2:57Speaker 3: where to put it if I don't know where you
- 2:58Speaker 3: got it.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Good for her. Very important rule. All you entertainers out
- 3:03Speaker 2: there listening, stay the hell away from politics. Hey, it's
- 3:06Speaker 2: nine weeks until the midterms.
- 3:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:08Speaker 2: It's just nine weeks away. Got a lot of crazy
- 3:13Speaker 2: candidates out there. You got this guy, Telerico, running a crazy, crazy,
- 3:18Speaker 2: crazy ad. President Trump commenting about his crazy ad.
- 3:22Speaker 7: The Democrats have a weird, a weird chat today.
- 3:27Speaker 8: God is non-binary.
- 3:29Speaker 2: There are many more than two biological sexes.
- 3:33Speaker 9: In fact, there are six.
- 3:34Speaker 8: It is now existential that We try to reduce our
- 3:38Speaker 8: meat consumption. The American flag is such a complicated symbol
- 3:41Speaker 8: for most of us. Prophetic voices like Jesus have helped
- 3:44Speaker 8: me reckon with my own whiteness, my own masculinity. Our
- 3:48Speaker 8: southern border should be like our front porch. There should
- 3:51Speaker 8: be a giant welcome mat out front.
- 3:54Speaker 4: Okay.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Again, I think the Democrats are going to be quite
- 3:58Speaker 2: surprised in November as how this registers with normal people.
- 4:04Speaker 2: You know, that's the problem with a lot of these Democrats.
- 4:05Speaker 2: They They live in their own little bubble, no contact
- 4:08Speaker 2: with normal Americans and how they really feel. Now, Jill Biden,
- 4:16Speaker 2: Joe Biden, they've been known for years as the biggest
- 4:20Speaker 2: liars in politics. And every politician, Republican and Democrat will
- 4:25Speaker 2: tell you these two are the biggest liars ever. So
- 4:28Speaker 2: she does a podcast called You know, a lot of
- 4:31Speaker 2: people shouldn't be doing these things, especially if you're a liar,
- 4:35Speaker 2: if you've got stuff you're covering up. It's one thing
- 4:38Speaker 2: to do a five-minute radio interview, but do a podcast
- 4:41Speaker 2: where you've got to open up and talk for 90 minutes.
- 4:44Speaker 2: It's too revealing. And she's on the Jamie Kern Lima show.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Does anybody know what that is? That's how well she's doing.
- 4:56Speaker 2: You'll notice she's not on Joe Rogan for two hours.
- 5:00Speaker 2: you'll notice she's not on any big shows. She's on
- 5:02Speaker 2: the Jamie Kern Lima show. Now, if somebody walked in
- 5:07Speaker 2: here and said, uh, Jamie Kern Lima would like to
- 5:11Speaker 2: get you on her podcast. I would tell him to leave.
- 5:13Speaker 2: I don't know what that is. And I don't want
- 5:15Speaker 2: to know, but apparently in Delaware, the phone rang and, uh,
- 5:20Speaker 2: somebody said to Jill Biden, Hey, they want you on
- 5:23Speaker 2: the Jamie Kern Lima show. And she said, what time
- 5:26Speaker 2: I'll do it. And there she is. So she talked
- 5:28Speaker 2: at great length. She was asked about whether she was
- 5:32Speaker 2: like Lady Macbeth pushing Joe Biden, pushing him to spend
- 5:37Speaker 2: four more years in the White House. Well, actually, we
- 5:40Speaker 2: know she was, and that's what she was accused of.
- 5:43Speaker 2: She was accused of elder abuse. I mean, this guy
- 5:45Speaker 2: was in bad shape. Remember the cabinet meeting where he
- 5:48Speaker 2: couldn't even talk? She had to run the meeting. Remember
- 5:53Speaker 2: him trying to walk off stage? He had to make
- 5:55Speaker 2: an announcement. They'd write it out for him in big letters,
- 5:58Speaker 2: and he'd read it slowly, and then He'd turn around
- 6:01Speaker 2: and he couldn't figure out how to get off stage.
- 6:04Speaker 2: And remember he'd bump into the wall and remember he'd
- 6:07Speaker 2: stick his hand out and shake hands with thin air.
- 6:09Speaker 2: There was nobody there. I mean, she should have in
- 6:11Speaker 2: the middle of the term, early in the term, had
- 6:14Speaker 2: him resign or something, just have him step down. But
- 6:17Speaker 2: she pushed him. She pushed him into running again, kept
- 6:21Speaker 2: him in the race. Remember, he was running. He was
- 6:23Speaker 2: a full campaign. Dead serious, full campaign for president. Even
- 6:28Speaker 2: agreed to a debate. He even did debate prep for
- 6:32Speaker 2: a couple weeks. Then he went on the debate and
- 6:34Speaker 2: he was a frozen vegetable. He was a babbling yo-yo.
- 6:37Speaker 2: And it was so bad that it was apparent to
- 6:40Speaker 2: everybody that he was out of it and he had
- 6:43Speaker 2: to drop out of the race. So they pushed him
- 6:45Speaker 2: out of the race. So, you know, of course, on
- 6:48Speaker 2: the podcast, she makes up a whole different story about
- 6:51Speaker 2: how she wanted him to drop out. She says she
- 6:54Speaker 2: hopes one day the true story of what happened will
- 6:57Speaker 2: come out. You know, she better hope not.
- 6:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:00Speaker 2: She better hope that never comes out. She criticized negative
- 7:04Speaker 2: people who disparaged the Biden family. People put whatever twist
- 7:10Speaker 2: they want on it. Mostly it's negative. Unlike Donald Trump.
- 7:15Speaker 2: You never hear anybody say anything negative about Donald Trump.
- 7:18Speaker 2: She said she declined to give any advice. She said
- 7:22Speaker 2: when Joe asked whether he should stay in the race,
- 7:26Speaker 2: she declined to give any advice. Yeah, right. You ever
- 7:31Speaker 2: been around her? She gives you advice on everything. You
- 7:35Speaker 2: don't even have to ask. She's just a yenta who
- 7:38Speaker 2: never stops giving you advice, talking, telling you what to do.
- 7:42Speaker 2: She said, Joe asked her at one point, I said, Joe,
- 7:47Speaker 2: you've got to make this decision yourself. Whatever decision is made,
- 7:52Speaker 2: you have to be able to live with it. Now,
- 7:56Speaker 2: even if you don't know Jill Biden, go watch any
- 7:58Speaker 2: time where the two of them are in front of
- 8:00Speaker 2: reporters and he starts to answer and she jumps in
- 8:03Speaker 2: and answers for him. She's always telling this guy what
- 8:05Speaker 2: to do. Never, ever in her life did this woman
- 8:10Speaker 2: ever say to anybody, Oh, I don't know. You have
- 8:13Speaker 2: to make the decision. She's always telling them what to do. So, uh,
- 8:17Speaker 2: it's a big thing for, uh, what's her name? Jamie
- 8:19Speaker 2: Kern Lima show to get Jill Biden on. But, uh, Hey, uh,
- 8:24Speaker 2: I know if I'm, walking around this pumpkin spice stuff
- 8:27Speaker 2: is everywhere everywhere you go pumpkin spice this pumpkin spice
- 8:33Speaker 2: that what's the it's august it's august 27th so according
- 8:37Speaker 2: to this uh business report yes they are doing it
- 8:41Speaker 2: earlier than usual it's never this early it's never happened
- 8:44Speaker 2: this early earliest launch ever duncan is launching the whole
- 8:50Speaker 2: fall menu august 19th that's the earliest ever Starbucks brought
- 8:55Speaker 2: it back. The whole pumpkin spice nonsense all started on
- 9:00Speaker 2: August 25th. That is the earliest ever. You know, the
- 9:07Speaker 2: Philadelphia Eagles, apparently they need a new stadium and they're
- 9:10Speaker 2: threatening to move out of Philadelphia, suburbs or something. Their
- 9:14Speaker 2: lease at Lincoln Financial Field is up. Well, it's not
- 9:18Speaker 2: for six years, but they're already negotiating. You know, you
- 9:22Speaker 2: threaten to move, you threaten to leave, and then they
- 9:27Speaker 2: make a deal to get you a better stadium, all that.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Governor Shapiro vows he'll keep the Phillies in Philadelphia. He
- 9:37Speaker 2: will not let them leave. But that's common. You do
- 9:39Speaker 2: that to negotiate. Steinbrenner did that one year. Remember, he
- 9:42Speaker 2: was moving to New Jersey. Although, he really was moving, actually,
- 9:46Speaker 2: at one point. I was there for a lot of that. Yeah,
- 9:50Speaker 2: he was moving. And he was going to go to
- 9:54Speaker 2: the Meadowlands. The Yankees were going to go there. And
- 9:57Speaker 2: the final meeting was with the governor. was Jim Florio
- 10:00Speaker 2: at the time and it was George Steinbrenner Larry Fisher
- 10:06Speaker 2: Bill Fugazi some baseball but they took a helicopter they
- 10:09Speaker 2: went over there to the governor's mansion and they met
- 10:12Speaker 2: with Florio and he said why should we bring the
- 10:16Speaker 2: Yankees here and Steinbrenner goes what I got to beg you?
- 10:21Speaker 2: And they all just turned around and left. Got on
- 10:24Speaker 2: the helicopter and left. Boy, that flood in Nepal, the
- 10:28Speaker 2: China-Nepal border. Boy, if you see that video, it is frightening.
- 10:33Speaker 2: An enormous wall of water, hundreds of feet high, just
- 10:37Speaker 2: wipes out a whole town. Scary stuff. It's killed, so far,
- 10:42Speaker 2: we think 175 are dead, including 50 Americans. Now, this
- 10:47Speaker 2: is Nepal, and there's a big... Nepalese community in Queens.
- 10:52Speaker 2: So these would be people from there most likely. Just
- 10:56Speaker 2: a brutal situation. Chinese leader Xi Jinping said there'll be
- 11:02Speaker 2: an all-out search effort and they'll do everything they can.
- 11:06Speaker 2: If you're counting on Xi Jinping to help you out,
- 11:10Speaker 2: you're in real trouble. That's not going to go well
- 11:14Speaker 2: if you're really depending on him. Hey, the PGA has
- 11:17Speaker 2: suspended a golfer For betting on golf, can you imagine
- 11:21Speaker 2: trying to bet on golf? Boy, that is not easy
- 11:25Speaker 2: to do. You know, that's one thing about golf. You know,
- 11:27Speaker 2: the Yankees get on a winning streak. Football team's on
- 11:31Speaker 2: a winning streak. They're having a big season. You can't
- 11:33Speaker 2: predict anything with golf because whoever wins the big tournament
- 11:37Speaker 2: that week, wins the PGA, the big winner of the week,
- 11:41Speaker 2: the guy never wins again for, like, months. Study the
- 11:45Speaker 2: history of this. Whoever wins big, it's always... Never him
- 11:50Speaker 2: again the next week. There's nobody ever winning weeks in
- 11:52Speaker 2: a row because you can never predict. If you're a golfer,
- 11:56Speaker 2: you know what I mean. You go out there one day,
- 11:58Speaker 2: it's unbelievable the way you're hitting the ball. You go
- 12:01Speaker 2: out the next day, everything's terrible. You just can't predict golf.
- 12:05Speaker 2: But this guy's Matt Gogol, suspended for six months for
- 12:09Speaker 2: placing bets on PGA Tour events. He said he never
- 12:13Speaker 2: bet on any tour he was in, any tournament he
- 12:16Speaker 2: was in. Well, that doesn't help. Oh, hey, you remember
- 12:18Speaker 2: speaking of sports. You remember that owner of the 49ers?
- 12:22Speaker 2: This is the guy that got caught going to a prostitute.
- 12:27Speaker 2: It was pretty sleazy because he's a billionaire. He's worth
- 12:30Speaker 2: about $ 6 billion. The 49 owner is Jed York. Now,
- 12:34Speaker 2: the guy's worth $ 6 billion. If you own a team,
- 12:39Speaker 2: you are an NFL owner. You also got $ 6 billion.
- 12:43Speaker 2: You'd think it'd be pretty easy to find some women,
- 12:45Speaker 2: wouldn't you? You'd think it'd be pretty easy if you're
- 12:49Speaker 2: looking for sex. You're an NFL team owner. You got
- 12:52Speaker 2: $ 6 billion. Well, this guy goes to a trailer park.
- 12:57Speaker 2: He saw something online, a prostitute, $ 140, way out somewhere
- 13:03Speaker 2: in a trailer park. Now, what the hell is this
- 13:05Speaker 2: $ 6 billion guy doing going to this trailer park? Well,
- 13:09Speaker 2: he gets there, and he'd been back and forth texting
- 13:11Speaker 2: with the woman online. He gets there. And it's a
- 13:14Speaker 2: sting operation. It's cops. It's a sting operation. They arrest him.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Turns out the guy running this sting operation is a
- 13:21Speaker 2: pretty clever guy. Uh, I don't think this has really
- 13:24Speaker 2: been made public, but what was he going all the
- 13:28Speaker 2: way out there for? Is he got like a fetish
- 13:32Speaker 2: for Roseanne types and he goes to trailer parks. Now
- 13:35Speaker 2: it turns out, uh, This was going to be a
- 13:40Speaker 2: mother-daughter thing. That was this guy's fetish. I didn't realize
- 13:43Speaker 2: this is apparently it's a big fetish. Like if you
- 13:46Speaker 2: go to porn sites, that's a big category, mother-daughter. So
- 13:49Speaker 2: it's a big fetish to sleep with a mother and
- 13:51Speaker 2: daughter at the same time. So that's why he was
- 13:58Speaker 2: willing to go all the way out to this trailer park.
- 14:00Speaker 2: It was mother-daughter. And now if you think about that, well,
- 14:04Speaker 2: if it's a mother and daughter, that's two people. $ 140.
- 14:07Speaker 2: That means it's $ 70 a person? What kind of prostitute
- 14:12Speaker 2: are you getting for $ 70? Anyway, he got arrested. He's
- 14:17Speaker 2: a powerful NFL owner with billions of dollars. He's a
- 14:20Speaker 2: great lawyer. So they reduced the charges. Legally, he's gotten
- 14:25Speaker 2: reduced to disorderly conduct. He's going to pay a fine.
- 14:28Speaker 2: It's not going to go to prison. But now his
- 14:31Speaker 2: problem is the NFL. The NFL is now looking at it.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Roger Goodell says they're investigating. Now it's... He said so
- 14:42Speaker 2: far they haven't found the actual violation of the rules,
- 14:46Speaker 2: but he said there is a rule on conduct, off-field conduct.
- 14:52Speaker 2: So he is going to probably have a problem with that.
- 14:55Speaker 2: So we'll see if this guy... It's usually up to
- 15:00Speaker 2: the other owners. I know there's a commissioner and everything,
- 15:03Speaker 2: but all the other owners... It's like a cartel. They
- 15:06Speaker 2: all get together and decide. So it depends. If they
- 15:08Speaker 2: really like this guy, they'll give him a pass. If
- 15:10Speaker 2: they don't like this guy, he'll be forced to sell
- 15:12Speaker 2: the team. And I don't know that much about it.
- 15:15Speaker 2: If he's liked by other owners, they'll fight for him.
- 15:18Speaker 2: If he's not liked by other owners, they'll use this
- 15:20Speaker 2: as an excuse to get him out of there. Hey,
- 15:23Speaker 2: we'll take some calls next. 800-321-0710 is the number.
- 15:25Speaker 7: 800-321-0710.
- 15:33Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show. Now 9 till noon weekdays.
- 15:39Speaker 3: On 710WOR.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to Dan in Queens. Dan,
- 15:46Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 15:47Speaker 6: Good, Mark.
- 15:48Speaker 10: I wanted to mention to you with the prostitution on
- 15:52Speaker 10: Roosevelt and 82nd Street. Been going on for a while. Young, Asian,
- 15:59Speaker 10: look like Chinese girls, uh, No English, under 18, with
- 16:05Speaker 10: a big fat mama-san doing the business for them.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Well, no English. What, are you going to have a
- 16:09Speaker 2: conversation with her? How much do you pay for that, Dan?
- 16:11Speaker 10: I'm just saying. No, but how much is that?
- 16:18Speaker 2: The whole street in Queens with these products. But how much,
- 16:21Speaker 2: like this guy in the trailer park, it's $ 140. That's
- 16:24Speaker 2: pretty cheap, isn't it?
- 16:26Speaker 10: Yeah, this mama-san must want $ 500.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Oh, really?
- 16:28Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 16:31Speaker 10: Yeah, and the cops were out there yesterday. Two cops
- 16:34Speaker 10: in front of the entrance of their second floor place
- 16:38Speaker 10: right in front.
- 16:39Speaker 6: It's closed.
- 16:40Speaker 10: A lot of complaints. They're so young, Mark, you know,
- 16:42Speaker 10: and they're illegal.
- 16:43Speaker 2: Hey, now, let's be honest. When you walk down the street,
- 16:45Speaker 2: do they all say, hey, Dan, hi, Dan?
- 16:48Speaker 10: They say, Grandpa, can you do it?
- 16:50Speaker 2: Oh, all right. All right, Dan, thanks for calling. That's
- 16:55Speaker 2: like the old joke that Joe Biden says to them,
- 16:59Speaker 2: how much? And she says, Forget it. You've had it. Oh,
- 17:03Speaker 2: I'm going to show you. So let's go to Mike
- 17:06Speaker 2: in Portchester. Mike, how are you doing?
- 17:09Speaker 4: All right, Mark.
- 17:10Speaker 2: How's it going?
- 17:11Speaker 7: Good.
- 17:11Speaker 5: All right. Listen, you were talking about the season, and
- 17:17Speaker 5: I was in Costco the other day. They got skeletons
- 17:21Speaker 5: and everything all over the place.
- 17:22Speaker 2: Yeah, the Halloween stuff's already out.
- 17:26Speaker 5: I worked in retail, you know?
- 17:27Speaker 2: You did?
- 17:28Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 17:29Speaker 5: Grants and Bloomingdale.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Grants, WT Grants. That was an old department store.
- 17:33Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 17:35Speaker 2: And where else did you work?
- 17:36Speaker 5: And the thing was, huh?
- 17:38Speaker 2: I said, where else did you work?
- 17:41Speaker 5: Bloomingdale's. I helped open the one in White Plains.
- 17:44Speaker 2: The one in White Plains is spectacular.
- 17:48Speaker 5: Yeah, it's a great store.
- 17:49Speaker 2: It really is.
- 17:50Speaker 5: And I worked there for 15 years part-time.
- 17:55Speaker 9: Oh.
- 17:55Speaker 5: And I was a teacher during the day. But the
- 17:58Speaker 5: thing was that you had a demarcation of time, like,
- 18:04Speaker 5: for Christmas. It was the day after Thanksgiving. Yeah. So
- 18:08Speaker 5: we had to work until, like, 1 o'clock in the morning,
- 18:11Speaker 5: dressing the place up for Christmas.
- 18:14Speaker 2: Oh, all right.
- 18:15Speaker 10: Well, you know.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Yeah, now, listen. Yeah, you're right. Day after Thanksgiving, we'll
- 18:20Speaker 2: start the Christmas season. Now it starts mid-September. Already Halloween
- 18:26Speaker 2: stuff is up. It's ridiculous. That Bloomingdale's in White Plains
- 18:29Speaker 2: is perfect because it's an enormous store. It's as big
- 18:32Speaker 2: as the New York store. And it's a massive parking
- 18:36Speaker 2: lot right around it. You drive right up, park your car,
- 18:39Speaker 2: walk right in, come out, get right in your car.
- 18:42Speaker 2: You know, the problem with these malls, some of these malls,
- 18:44Speaker 2: you've got to drive into a garage. You've got to
- 18:47Speaker 2: get a ticket. You've got to stand at a kiosk
- 18:51Speaker 2: for five minutes. Then you go to the mall. You
- 18:53Speaker 2: don't really buy anything. You just want to leave. And
- 18:55Speaker 2: now you've got to pay. It's ridiculous. These malls are
- 18:59Speaker 2: all dying. You should pay everybody $ 5 to come into
- 19:02Speaker 2: the mall. We have to pay to park. That's why
- 19:05Speaker 2: that Bloomingdale's is great. Walt Whitman Mall is great. The Americana.
- 19:10Speaker 2: You can just pull in and park. Don't have to
- 19:13Speaker 2: get a ticket. Don't have to pay. Let's go to
- 19:16Speaker 2: Dennis in Long Island. Dennis, how are you doing? Well,
- 19:19Speaker 2: good morning.
- 19:20Speaker 6: I've got a question regarding this DA from Philadelphia, Larry Krasner.
- 19:24Speaker 2: He's saying some real.
- 19:26Speaker 6: dangerous and inflammatory stuff towards trump how come this guy
- 19:31Speaker 6: is still walking around i mean you know why aren't
- 19:34Speaker 6: the feds investigating.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Him well uh so far it's legal what he's doing
- 19:39Speaker 2: it's terrible but it's like leticia james you know and
- 19:41Speaker 2: the other problem is you get her on something goes
- 19:44Speaker 2: before a crazy district judge who's a left-wing guy and
- 19:47Speaker 2: throws the case out you know they pretty much had
- 19:49Speaker 2: her on that mortgage fraud. But, you know, you get
- 19:53Speaker 2: one of those crazy judges, they throw it out. Let's
- 19:56Speaker 2: go to Ralph in Manhattan. Ralph, how are you doing?
- 20:00Speaker 9: Great, Mark. You know, Philly's notorious. for the worst fans
- 20:04Speaker 9: in sports. I mean, they are next to no one.
- 20:08Speaker 9: I mean, they used to have a jail mark right
- 20:11Speaker 9: in Veterans Stadium just for convenience sake.
- 20:14Speaker 2: Yeah, most stadiums have a jail in the stadium because
- 20:18Speaker 2: they have to hold the guys until the police get there.
- 20:21Speaker 9: Yeah, back when you didn't see that too often, it
- 20:26Speaker 9: was very interesting to watch. But, you know, when Steinbrenner
- 20:29Speaker 9: threatened to go to New Jersey He was taken seriously.
- 20:33Speaker 9: New Yorkers kind of went into a panic during that period,
- 20:37Speaker 9: and they wanted their beloved Yankees to stay put right
- 20:40Speaker 9: where they were. Then they went and built that other ballpark,
- 20:43Speaker 9: which they never needed. That original Yankee stadium was so great, Mark. Well,
- 20:47Speaker 9: they did need the new ballpark. You think so?
- 20:52Speaker 2: I know so. George was a good friend of mine,
- 20:55Speaker 2: and he explained it all to me once. The real reason,
- 20:58Speaker 2: it has nothing to do with a better field or
- 20:59Speaker 2: more seats. It has nothing to do. Remember they built
- 21:02Speaker 2: that new stadium in Baltimore? That was the first.
- 21:05Speaker 4: All right.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Well, they put in that new stadium, a lot of stores,
- 21:09Speaker 2: a lot of restaurants, a lot of stuff. And they
- 21:12Speaker 2: found that people came to the game three hours early
- 21:14Speaker 2: and spent a fortune in the stores, the restaurants, the bars.
- 21:17Speaker 2: And when the game was over, they stayed an extra
- 21:19Speaker 2: couple hours. And on the way out, spent a lot
- 21:21Speaker 2: of money in the bars, the restaurants, the mall, the shopping,
- 21:25Speaker 2: the super. So they realized. You could make double your money.
- 21:28Speaker 2: You could get the money from the game and you
- 21:30Speaker 2: could get the money from the shopping and all that
- 21:32Speaker 2: and the eating and the drinks. So every stadium had
- 21:35Speaker 2: to all of a sudden have a mall in it,
- 21:37Speaker 2: had to have a lot of restaurants, had to have
- 21:38Speaker 2: a lot of stuff in it, and that's why they
- 21:42Speaker 2: all started rebuilding. That was the real reason.
- 21:45Speaker 9: It sounds like a Cohen situation at Citi Field because
- 21:48Speaker 9: he's got the casino going, everything around the ballpark. He
- 21:52Speaker 9: did away with the chop shops, which was a good idea.
- 21:56Speaker 9: It sounds like he's more interested in all these ancillary
- 21:59Speaker 9: things more so than the Mets.
- 22:01Speaker 2: Yeah, he is. Because they're all smart business people. I
- 22:04Speaker 2: remember Bob Kraft when he built the stadium in Foxboro.
- 22:08Speaker 2: Right next door, what did he build? Like a Patriots
- 22:11Speaker 2: mall where you can eat, drink, spend money. Now, it's
- 22:15Speaker 2: good for the fan because you remember when the game
- 22:17Speaker 2: let out, you were stuck in a nightmare of traffic.
- 22:19Speaker 2: Everybody left at once. But with all the bars, restaurants, stores, everything,
- 22:23Speaker 2: not everybody leaves at once. So there's never the same
- 22:25Speaker 2: kind of traffic jam. Hey, when we come back, the
- 22:28Speaker 2: very funny Jimmy Fallon. We'll talk to him next on 710WOR.
- 22:35Speaker 1: 710WOR' s Mark Simone Show continues now.
- 22:40Speaker 2: Well, Jimmy Fallon, a great talk show host, one of
- 22:43Speaker 2: the funniest comedians in America. And he's on WOR every night,
- 22:48Speaker 2: 9 to midnight. You can listen to him here every weeknight,
- 22:50Speaker 2: and you should. You'll get hooked on his show, 9
- 22:53Speaker 2: to midnight on WOR. And then you've got to watch
- 22:56Speaker 2: his Saturday night TV show. It's the best late night
- 22:59Speaker 2: show on television. Every Saturday night, 10 o'clock, Fox News Channel.
- 23:04Speaker 2: Single best monologue in television. And you can actually be
- 23:08Speaker 2: there live in the audience. We'll tell you how in
- 23:10Speaker 2: a few minutes. Jimmy Fela, how are you doing?
- 23:13Speaker 4: You know what?
- 23:14Speaker 1: I'm good, but I'm up to my eyeballs this week
- 23:16Speaker 1: because I have Neil deGrasse Tyson back on the show.
- 23:19Speaker 1: And there's about a 2,000-point IQ.
- 23:22Speaker 4: Gap between Neil deGrasse Tyson and me.
- 23:25Speaker 1: Like, this guy spent his whole life studying constellations like
- 23:29Speaker 1: Orion the Hunter. I've been partying like Hunter Biden.
- 23:32Speaker 2: Yeah, well.
- 23:33Speaker 6: You know?
- 23:34Speaker 1: So I don't know how this is going to go, Mark,
- 23:36Speaker 1: but I'm happy to be back with you.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Where I belong. Ah, when it comes to physics, my
- 23:40Speaker 2: money's on you. What does he know? Hey, we were
- 23:46Speaker 2: just talking about this guy owns the 49ers. He owns
- 23:48Speaker 2: the football team. He's got $ 6 billion in cash. And
- 23:52Speaker 2: he's going to a trailer park for a $ 140 hooker.
- 23:54Speaker 2: What goes through this guy's head? What does he think?
- 24:00Speaker 1: As far as the hooker goes, I do believe the
- 24:04Speaker 1: 49ers are happy to have someone taking a knee besides
- 24:06Speaker 1: Colin Kaepernick for the progress there.
- 24:10Speaker 4: But, you know, I keep trying to remind people of this.
- 24:13Speaker 5: There are certain.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Things in life you don't want too cheap.
- 24:18Speaker 4: Okay, $ 140 poker.
- 24:19Speaker 1: Is probably one of them. You know, remember those old.
- 24:24Speaker 5: Ads for the $ 100.
- 24:26Speaker 4: Laser eye surgery?
- 24:27Speaker 1: Like, it sounds fun until you see the cross-eyed doctor walk.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Into the room.
- 24:31Speaker 1: And you're like, maybe this isn't the bargain I thought
- 24:33Speaker 1: it was. But I love this story so much.
- 24:36Speaker 2: What a dirtbag.
- 24:36Speaker 1: And he was wearing a Yankee shirt.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Did you see that? No. A Yankee shirt?
- 24:41Speaker 1: Of all things, he's wearing a Yankee shirt and shorts
- 24:46Speaker 1: when he gets pulled over by the cop, although that
- 24:48Speaker 1: might have not been the most incriminating accessory. He also
- 24:51Speaker 1: had a wedding ring on, which I would imagine he
- 24:54Speaker 1: might not be wearing today. But holy hell.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Now, they have made this public, but what I'm hearing
- 24:59Speaker 2: is the reason he went to the trailer park, it
- 25:01Speaker 2: was a mother-daughter thing, and apparently that was his fetish. Now,
- 25:06Speaker 2: that has got to be the worst. That's the worst
- 25:08Speaker 2: fetish you could have.
- 25:10Speaker 1: Yeah, because at a trailer park, if it's a mother-daughter thing,
- 25:13Speaker 1: at least one of them isn't of age.
- 25:15Speaker 7: That's not good, man.
- 25:19Speaker 4: That is not good. But I got a lot of
- 25:22Speaker 4: weird stuff out there.
- 25:24Speaker 1: But again, everybody, I think it comes back to the
- 25:27Speaker 1: same shock, which is we saw all the cash on
- 25:30Speaker 1: him in the arrest video. We know how much money
- 25:32Speaker 1: he's worth. you know, why is he doing that? And I,
- 25:36Speaker 1: there must be something exciting about taking the risk. I mean,
- 25:41Speaker 1: that's the only thing I can think of, you know,
- 25:43Speaker 1: because everything else he's doing would seemingly be doable in
- 25:47Speaker 1: a very discreet fashion.
- 25:49Speaker 4: Uh, but you know, I guess either way you slice it.
- 25:52Speaker 1: They weren't kidding when they said the NFL is a
- 25:54Speaker 1: game of inches.
- 25:55Speaker 2: All right. Uh, Some people like, you know, remember Bob Kraft,
- 26:02Speaker 2: also a multi-billionaire, going to that dingy strip mall with
- 26:06Speaker 2: these old Asian masseuses to get whatever he was getting there.
- 26:10Speaker 2: I guess some people don't like fancy stuff, I guess.
- 26:15Speaker 1: They like to give back to the community. I mean,
- 26:18Speaker 1: let's not forget, East Palestine is where they had that
- 26:24Speaker 1: train derailment under Pete Booty Judge.
- 26:27Speaker 9: Do you remember that?
- 26:28Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right.
- 26:28Speaker 4: And, uh, that was, that was crazy.
- 26:30Speaker 1: That is on the way to my wife's house in Wapakoneta.
- 26:33Speaker 1: We have, you know, we drove through East Palestine and, uh,
- 26:37Speaker 1: it actually is a, you know, they had this huge
- 26:39Speaker 1: chemical spill, but it's a pretty fun town. Like you
- 26:42Speaker 1: haven't lived till you've pet a three-eyed dog, like a
- 26:45Speaker 1: lot of fun, you know, a lot of fun local
- 26:48Speaker 1: exhibits there that you don't see anywhere else in the country.
- 26:51Speaker 7: But, uh, maybe he saw that town on the news
- 26:55Speaker 7: and felt bad.
- 26:56Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 26:56Speaker 2: Next time visit the trailer park. Uh, apparently it's a
- 27:00Speaker 2: lot of fun there. It's the, um, She's had to
- 27:04Speaker 2: change the tires on the trailer like five times and
- 27:06Speaker 2: it hasn't gone anywhere. But now, hey, Fox News, the
- 27:13Speaker 2: most talked about event of the week has got to
- 27:14Speaker 2: be Abdul El-Sayed and Jesse Waters talking about circumcision. What
- 27:20Speaker 2: do you make of that? Did it help El-Sayed or
- 27:22Speaker 2: hurt him?
- 27:24Speaker 1: Well, I mean, listen, everybody thought it was comical. Abdul
- 27:27Speaker 1: wasn't kidding when he said he had a lot of
- 27:29Speaker 1: skin in the game. You know what's funny? It's funny
- 27:34Speaker 1: you just jogged my brain because I was thinking of
- 27:36Speaker 1: this earlier. Someone has to tell the Democrats this is
- 27:40Speaker 1: not what Trump meant by no tax on tips.
- 27:42Speaker 2: So, yeah, I.
- 27:46Speaker 4: Don't know.
- 27:52Speaker 2: It's not you're not going to hurt yourself with Democrats
- 27:55Speaker 2: because they're probably not watching. But I think independents, I
- 27:59Speaker 2: think they've had it with the LSAT. They realize the
- 28:01Speaker 2: guy's just a weirdo, don't they?
- 28:03Speaker 4: Yes. Every every one of these Democrats can't.
- 28:06Speaker 1: Actually explain or justify any of their policies. Like same
- 28:11Speaker 1: with that moon bat running down in Florida, Angelina Nixon.
- 28:14Speaker 1: They asked her yesterday about Medicare for all. And they're like, well, we're,
- 28:17Speaker 1: you know, seven trillion dollar budgets. you know, how would
- 28:20Speaker 1: this affect things? And she's like, well, I don't have
- 28:22Speaker 1: the numbers on me.
- 28:25Speaker 4: I mean, you're not listening.
- 28:27Speaker 1: You're not supposed to say that you're supposed to lie.
- 28:29Speaker 1: You can say it'll go down and we'll save money.
- 28:32Speaker 5: Don't say that. I don't know.
- 28:38Speaker 7: If you come home at two in the morning and
- 28:39Speaker 7: your wife goes, you're at a strip club.
- 28:40Speaker 9: You don't go, I don't remember.
- 28:42Speaker 4: That's not going to get you out.
- 28:44Speaker 2: Of trouble, man. Hey, um, Are you upset at the
- 28:48Speaker 2: loss of Meghan and Harry that they've left and gone
- 28:51Speaker 2: back to England?
- 28:53Speaker 4: Oh, I love this story so much.
- 28:55Speaker 1: We're going to talk about it on my show this
- 28:56Speaker 1: weekend because I'm obsessed with it because it really is.
- 29:00Speaker 1: I mean, in all honesty, we've had I don't know
- 29:03Speaker 1: how many years of Trump now, two years. This is
- 29:05Speaker 1: the first deportation everyone agreed with. There's no protest. No
- 29:10Speaker 1: one is yelling about Tom Holman.
- 29:11Speaker 2: Over this one. They were thrilled.
- 29:13Speaker 7: And you know what's funny about it?
- 29:15Speaker 1: We've been following this story because we work in media,
- 29:17Speaker 1: and I think we have a better appreciation of just
- 29:20Speaker 1: how ridiculous it is in that we've been covering them
- 29:23Speaker 1: since they quit the royal family, wrote a tell-all book
- 29:28Speaker 1: bashing the royal family.
- 29:29Speaker 5: And now I guess they're living by.
- 29:31Speaker 1: The old adage, if you can't beat them, rejoin them.
- 29:34Speaker 5: Like, how do they.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Even justify this?
- 29:36Speaker 4: They look like clowns, and no one's asking them to
- 29:39Speaker 4: come back. And I will tell you this, because I'm
- 29:41Speaker 4: definitely going to bring this up on my show.
- 29:43Speaker 1: You know, Harry obviously has this, you know, really sad
- 29:46Speaker 1: story about his mom died being chased by the paparazzi.
- 29:49Speaker 1: But now they're worried that the paparazzi is going to
- 29:51Speaker 1: get killed being chased by Meghan Markle.
- 29:54Speaker 7: You know? Because she wants attention.
- 29:56Speaker 4: You know that.
- 29:57Speaker 2: Well, most of you are Prince Harry. You're the heir
- 30:00Speaker 2: to the throne. Why would you marry this idiot that's got, like,
- 30:04Speaker 2: 15th billing on the show Suits a few years? I mean,
- 30:06Speaker 2: couldn't he do better?
- 30:07Speaker 4: It's not even an A-list show.
- 30:12Speaker 5: You know what's funny, Mark?
- 30:14Speaker 4: You say that.
- 30:15Speaker 7: I bet you, like, Will and Kate said that to
- 30:17Speaker 7: him at some point.
- 30:17Speaker 5: They're like, Harry, she's not even on network TV.
- 30:20Speaker 2: Come on, Harry.
- 30:23Speaker 5: We're the royal family.
- 30:25Speaker 4: I'm going to need somebody.
- 30:27Speaker 1: That's hilarious.
- 30:28Speaker 9: But you're right.
- 30:29Speaker 1: And they probably saw the ambition on her. Because one
- 30:32Speaker 1: thing I'll tell you is if you're ever around really
- 30:35Speaker 1: rich families, like if they're celebrity families or just really
- 30:39Speaker 1: affluent families, they're very good at diagnosing someone in their
- 30:43Speaker 1: ranks who's trying to get over on them. Someone who's
- 30:47Speaker 1: on the grift, someone who's working at an angle.
- 30:50Speaker 4: They sniff that stuff out really well.
- 30:52Speaker 1: And I don't doubt if you're the royal family, you're
- 30:54Speaker 1: probably better at that than anybody. You know, because they're
- 30:57Speaker 1: always worried about people on the staff selling their pictures
- 31:00Speaker 1: or their stories to the press. So I would bet you,
- 31:03Speaker 1: and that's the way the story is told, is that
- 31:04Speaker 1: within a month of beating her, they were all like,
- 31:06Speaker 1: you've got to get rid of this girl. And the
- 31:08Speaker 1: next thing you know, he became the ex-Prince of Bel-Air,
- 31:11Speaker 1: and they moved him out of the family.
- 31:14Speaker 2: Well, I'm sure he'll be back. He's not going to
- 31:17Speaker 2: get any work over there either, and then he'll end
- 31:19Speaker 2: up back here. So, hey, Jimmy Fallon's on every weeknight,
- 31:22Speaker 2: 9 to midnight on WOR, 9 to midnight tonight. And
- 31:26Speaker 2: what are you going to be doing on tonight's show?
- 31:29Speaker 1: Oh, the big send-off. Lincoln's going to college. So tomorrow
- 31:33Speaker 1: Lincoln heads up to Cortland. So you'll get some Fox
- 31:36Speaker 1: people giving him some shout-outs. Kennedy and Emily Campagno's on
- 31:40Speaker 1: because she just got named the newest cast member on
- 31:44Speaker 1: The Five.
- 31:44Speaker 2: Big job.
- 31:46Speaker 4: Yeah, she was the one who had to do the
- 31:47Speaker 4: circumcision on Jesse.
- 31:48Speaker 2: You know, that's not easy. Uh, so your son's going
- 31:52Speaker 2: to college. What if he comes back all indoctrinated and
- 31:55Speaker 2: becomes a socialist?
- 31:57Speaker 1: You're going to laugh.
- 31:58Speaker 4: That's what I keep telling him.
- 31:59Speaker 1: I said, I'll pay for college.
- 32:01Speaker 4: As long as you don't come home a queer for Palestine,
- 32:04Speaker 4: like you.
- 32:05Speaker 7: You can come home either one. You can't come home.
- 32:07Speaker 1: But it's too much for me to deal with at Thanksgiving. Oh,
- 32:11Speaker 1: that's too much news for me to break in one sitting.
- 32:13Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 32:14Speaker 4: But, It's crazy, and every college is liberal.
- 32:18Speaker 1: Every single college is 99% liberal, so you really have
- 32:23Speaker 1: to have a relationship with your kid now because there
- 32:26Speaker 1: are so many stories. I mean, if you think of that.
- 32:28Speaker 4: Horrific story of the kid who shot Charlie Kirk.
- 32:31Speaker 1: His father ran a local business in Utah and was
- 32:35Speaker 1: very Republican. So was his mother. But he went off
- 32:39Speaker 1: to college, wound up dating a transgender furry, and here
- 32:42Speaker 1: we are. So you really have to have a relationship
- 32:44Speaker 1: with your kids now because you cannot trust schools the
- 32:47Speaker 1: way you did when we were young.
- 32:49Speaker 4: You just sent your kid.
- 32:50Speaker 1: To school and hoped he behaved. I don't think we're
- 32:52Speaker 1: living in that world right now.
- 32:53Speaker 2: Very good point. Hey, also make sure you watch Jimmy Fallon,
- 32:57Speaker 2: the best late-night show on television, Saturday night at 10 o'clock.
- 33:01Speaker 2: And people can be there in the studio audience, right?
- 33:04Speaker 2: Where do they go to get tickets?
- 33:05Speaker 1: Yes. free tickets uh fox across america.com you log on
- 33:12Speaker 1: to that site you can register for any show you
- 33:14Speaker 1: want to come to so if you want to come

- 33:26Speaker 1: gotta take lincoln to college tomorrow so we're it's a
- 33:29Speaker 1: new york taping tonight we're taping it a little early
- 33:31Speaker 1: but it's going to.
- 33:31Speaker 2: Be a really ridiculous show so buckle up yeah but
- 33:34Speaker 2: it's a great uh great a date to take somebody
- 33:37Speaker 2: on and it's free don't tell them it's free but
- 33:39Speaker 2: uh it's gonna look impressive bringing them to fox meet

- 33:55Speaker 1: I can't believe it yeah we're ready to go thanks
- 33:57Speaker 1: for that mark.
